Great personalized experience. Emmanuel S was a great tour guide, highly recommend the premium experience. Great time in NYC

More than just a view.

By Nicky N |

More than just a view! One of the highlights of our holiday - even the hard to please teens loved it. We went up at sunset - queues were minimal. We spent approximately 2.5hrs here. My husband and I also had a signature cocktail which was delicious.

Unique experience among the skyscrapers in NY.

By F B |

Beautiful skyscraper, new, among the tallest in NYC, next to Central Station. The real feature of this visit that completely differentiates it from the others (Empire S.B., Top of the Rock and Freedom Tower) I visited these days in NY is in the experiences inside. Come out of there that you had a real experience, not just a view and a view of the panorama: huge rooms with floors only of mirrors, glass up to the floor where you can touch them, mirrored inflatable balloons pushed by large fans to play with, portion of the facade completely in the void on a glass plate (climbing it was not easy... we are 400m) and finally a beautiful huge terrace with lots of plants where to drink and eat something. Not to be missed.

Great if you enjoy standing in queues for hours

By Jaynie D |

The experience itself is pretty good, the views are fantastic, and the floors are a bit different to a standard viewing tower. However, what really ruined it for us was the queues.
We had pre booked tickets for 12 o'clock so we turned up around 1145 expecting to gain access. We queued around an hour to get in. Then had to queue in a really horrible dark boiling hot tunnel to gain access to the lifts. Once out of the lift the experience was great. Until we decided it was time to leave as we had a flight to catch. Had we realised we'd have to stand in an endless queue to get back down in the elevator we'd have left sooner. So stressful, no other way out, nobody willing to assist us.
Not sure if all viewing towers have the same problem, but it would certainly put me off ever coming back here. It's a shame as the experience itself is good.

It was very nice the experience, the tour person attended us super well, very friendly and polite, recommended one hundred percent!

Stunning views and great experience.

By WiganTraveller |

Visited Summit One on an extremely wet and stormy day - there was zero visibility to start off with but then the clouds cleared revealing stunning views of New York. Having done a few observation decks with children, the experience of this one really entertained them - they loved the ball room! Staff were really friendly and I purchased the photo package in advance and got some lovely family pictures. Treated myself to a cocktail in the bar which in hindsight I should have rebooked to save money. Excellent experience - would thoroughly recommend, especially if you are taking kids to an observation deck. Stunning views of the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building as well as the rest of NYC.

Amazing views well worth a visit.

By PhilG_11 |

Amazing must do experience in New York, the views are amazing. We were lucky to pick a perfect clear blue bird day. The line looked long when we arrived at Grand Central Station but it moves quickly and the staff are great.
I didnt get the balloon room but probably a hit for young families.

Good time

By James R |

Great experience. We really enjoyed it as a family, we’d recommend giving it a go when your here
Staff were really friendly

Don’t waste time here

By James W |

very bad experience, wait wait wait. Wait 1 hr still no good, wait for the stupid photo shot and i even can’t find my cloudy face. the worst thing is wait the lift to leave. DONT waste your time and money here!!!

Wow!! Recommended, including if you are with children. For 6-year-old Emilia it was a great experience

By GloriaTobon |

Wow!!! It is. Amazing 360 view of New York!!! It's worth it. Very organized the tour, quite people but very calm and orderly. Keep the place on the list. Emilia my 6 year old daughter enjoyed it so much!!!

Avoid this experience

By Brian D |

Horrendous experience today. Too many tickets sold and not the capacity to deal with crowds. We had 12.00 booking. Arrived at 11.00 to check out the entrance and saw that queues were quadrupled up and down the entrance hall. Was told to come back at 12.00. Came back 20 minutes later and blagged my way into the line. We then trudged forward in the line for over 2 hours, slowly through security and then steered to the service lift because it was being used to deal with the volume of visitors. Staff were saying that they've never queues like this but having now read reviews, they were evidently lying.
Once we finally got to the top, views were impressive due the the height but not much help.
Then snother long queue just to get back down to the exit.
If you're considering this, don't do it. Absolutely horrendous 4 hours that we will never get back.

Breathtaking!

By Donata B |

The experience was absolutely incredible — truly 10/10! The views were breathtaking and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The staff was so kind and made the entire visit even better. I loved every moment and will definitely be going back again!

One of our highlights to our NYC trip

By Taylor F |

If you’re going to do this experience then make sure you do the VIP skip the line experience, it’s definitely worth the extra money!! You not only get to skip the queues that were large when we went but also got all photos for free and a drink and the end. It was definitely one of our highlights to the trip and Phillip who was our tour guide was brilliant. 10/10

Queues for hours in and out.

By Angharad S |

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. SUMMIT One was shockingly disorganised. We arrived at 5:45pm for our 6pm slot and walked into chaos, hundreds queuing in the middle of a subway station. Staff told us to leave and come back at 6pm, but the queues were even worse. A staff member said it would take two hours to get in, despite our timed slot.

We tried for a refund but, because we’d booked through Get Your Guide, they refused and pushed us into a “shorter” line, claiming a 20-minute wait. It was 1.5 hours. The funniest part? Signs in every corridor stating the maximum capacity, despite there being at least five times that number packed in.

The experience itself took about 20 minutes and was completely underwhelming after all the waiting. Leaving took another 1.5 hours due to a huge queue for the elevators. It ruined our last night in New York. Total rip-off. Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building were far better.

Let down by the weather

By smallmaninabigcity |

A nice experience seeing the different rooms and experiences on offer.

The disappointment was something only the weather can be responsible for. Due to poor weather, there was zero visibility outside throughout the whole experience.

Maybe a ‘return another day’ discount could be offered to visitors if the weather does not allow any views whatsoever, similar to how some theme parks do.

The queues to exit via the lifts were lengthy.

An expertise now ticked off the list but in my opinion was not worth the money paid

Long queues and wait times I suggest you arrive 1/2 hour before your time slot

By nette-dee |

Booked a 930pm slot arrived on time and queues were exceptionally long it took 1 hour queuing before we entered the experience. This delay led to us missing our next planned activity. The views were amazing but you really didn’t need 3 floors to experience the same view.

Waste of time

By Kenresa S |

I wouldn’t pay to do this again, there is a complete lack of disregard to the people who come to this attraction. It’s disorganised, the staff are rude, there’s no apologies for the insane queues or respect for people’s time. When you compare it to other attractions where you go to the top of the building to see NYC, this is sub par. If you have a whole afternoon spare to queue then go ahead. We booked the 5pm sunset slot and didn’t get to the lift until 6:45pm. Missing the slot entirely and our evening was ruined. There was no regard for the queue, no apology for waiting or an explanation. It’s just to get more and more people in. We queued 40 minutes to get out too. It’s a joke. Don’t waste your time or money, there are better ways to see the city from above with less demand on your time and with a better experience.

By geauxsaintsfan |

Fantastic and thought it was worth the splurge to beat crowds. Had elevators to our small group of 5 - and skipped the lines. Of all the observation experiences this one is the best.

Perfect summit tour and wonderful landscape

By Scenic35570064971 |

It was as much as a premium tour, it was more than that!
From landscape descriptions to tourist-specific translations, all the instructions are so accurate and easy to understand that the tour is enriched.

I was especially impressed by Emmanuel S. who was always bright and kind to us as well as to other tourists. The photos captured the exact points and were taken so well that they could leave wonderful memories for life.

If you want to spend an unforgettable night in New York, this is definitely a recommended tour!
It was the best experience without a name called premium ✨

Best attraction in Manhattan a must do while visiting NYC!!!

By James E |

This was our second visit to Summit One, having first experienced it a couple of years ago with my daughter. We loved it so much, we knew we had to return — this time with the whole family (two adults and three children). It’s truly one of the most unforgettable experiences in New York City and, without a doubt, my favourite attraction in Manhattan.

Summit One offers exceptional value. The views are breathtaking, but it’s more than just a lookout — it’s an immersive experience. Sipping a cold beer in the sunshine, high above Manhattan on the 93rd floor, is a moment in itself. The kids had an absolute blast, and it’s genuinely fun for all ages.

Although it’s a popular spot, the queues move quickly and efficiently. It’s also super easy to reach, and being right next to Grand Central Station adds another layer of charm to the visit.

The panorama is everything

By Luca Q |

The experience was negative because they did not warn us before going up that we would not see anything for fog. In fairness, they didn't have to let us in. For half an hour, all we did was see blinding white through the windows.

SKIP IT! The worst-arranged lines I ever experienced. Feels like Soviet Union

By xbxbxb |

A pretty impressive installation is completely ruined by how they arrange lines. We deliberately booked less popular time slot (not sunset time). It took us 1.5 hours(!) to stay in 5(!) different(!) separate(!) lines, and then we you finally finish your tour - they put you in another 30 minute line just to get out!

I get it, many people want to go there, it's a popular attraction - but the tickets are time-slotted, with availability counters - it's not supposed to have lines at all!

They deliberately heavily overbook it, to make sure, even with cancellations, the place is packed 100% of time, which would be an OK strategy, but not at the expense of customers.

I mean - put an expected-waiting-time clock on the entrance - it would let people know what you're doing, allowing people to go away, instead of suffering all this pain.

Amazing view

By sabina s |

A stunning view of all of New York, it is recommended to buy tickets in advance and coordinate arrival for day and hour, also recommended to arrive when there is good sight in good weather.

COME EXPERIENCE THE SUMMIT!!

By Jeannette F |

What an amazing night!!!! You have to visit this attraction. The views are spectacular inside and out. It's also interactive experience in the bubbles room. The lights, the sounds are a part of vibe!!
Get your tickets you will have a blast!!!

Expected more for the cost

By jlpontow |

Expected more out of this experience. And staff didn’t really explain what you needed to do or what was optional to do. So that was a little confusing.

By Paul O |

We pre booked tickets for 6pm. It took 20 mins to get through security, get photos taken and get elevator up. Overall this was an awesome experience and personally we all much preferred it to Top of Rock (which we also visited during our NYC stay) .

The sunset views were amazing and it was easy to get pictures without big crowds. The balloon room was particularly fun and this whole visit was a highlight of the trip.

Amazing place

By larrybeard |

Wow what an experience , it was amazing , it is something you will remember
100% recommend to visit - besides the entry ticket , we bought the cocktail package and photo package
Recommend to go just as dusk is arriving

Great experience definitely a must du in NYC!

By Katharina B |

We had a really great time at the Summit! Imani was our tour guide and she was so wonderful and made this experience extraordinary for us! We will definitely come back and recommend doing this! We loved it

Surprising

By 4family1115 |

Experience to do absolutely!!! Admire New York from a different perspective... you are in the middle of a game of mirrors that you don't know which way to look... and I won't add anything else because the view is amazing... to try and discover!!!!

Don’t bother… I really don’t understand what this is supposed to be? Baffling! Save your money…

By nicolejade |

Awful! Just awful!!

We booked this as it was a really rainy morning in NY and we wanted an indoor experience. Our booking was for 9.30am… we didn’t get in the elevator until 10.32am so queued for just over an hour.

The views were non existent. Couldn’t see a single thing, which the lady at the start of the queue was happily making you aware of via her little iPad showing absolutely nothing but clouds and rain…. But no refund as it’s ’so much more than a view’. It’s not but ok.

We paid $180 for absolutely nothing. I can’t get my head around what you pay for. Unless you’re 4 years old… I really don’t get it.

I paid extra for the glass elevator, was told we couldn’t do it… no offer of a refund which again was absolutely ridiculous as it’s an extra $60+, there or thereabouts.

We did SO much in our 5 days in NY, this was the only regret I had. Completely overhyped and just a weird non experience.

In and out in 20 minutes. Wouldn’t do it for free.

Save your money and go the edge for so much less!

Worst part of our trip

By Passenger21117766626 |

Awful. Waited almost 2 hours to get through when we had pre booked tickets. Paid for more expensive tickets for sunset and enough time to get there and completely missed it. Would not recommend

MUST EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR SELF.

By prettybri25 |

It was my moms birthday and we had a blast, everything was nice and the staff were super friendly and they were professional, I believe the fee of the admission was very decent for the museum, Atmosphere was super crowded it was a lot of people,I appreciate they didn't rush you along while you were visiting each room of fun. But i wish you could change up your poses for your pictures. Definitely visiting again.

Waste of time and money.

By Lisa M |

Just awful! Ruined our entire day. Queuing for hours and I mean hours with nowhere to sit or rest if you need to. Getting crammed into service elevators that you have to queue for also! The floors are ok but easily forgettable. When you want to leave then you guessed it, you have to queue all over again. Everyone leaving looked miserable because they were utterly exhausted with queue time plus experience time. We couldn’t even talk about afterwards. So many bad reviews say the same things and still nothing has changed. That’s what angers me most. This is not a new problem. Will never recommend it.

Better ones out there

By Katie123abc |

Waste of money
Booked the sunset experience (at extra cost ) got there five mins before as stated on ticket to see a massive queue with time slots of 2pm still queuing to get in ! We stood in the queue for nearly two hours ! Totally missing the sunset
Unorganised chaos from start to finish !
When we finally got in to the attraction the man on the first floor was totally unprofessional and rude ! My sister had a panic attack and all he could do was walk of ( sorry storm off) very very unprofessional made my sister feel worse !
The next floor where photo opportunities were available again waste of money by paying extra for a massive queue and the photographer was doing photo shoots with the lady and her partner ( think he forgot there were others wanting their pics took so we did not get any pics from photographer with the skyline in ! The main point of actually going and paying for the photo pass !)
No b photo opportunity on mirrored room or balloon room either

Waste of money
Badly organised
No apologies about the queues etc and missing sunset slot

I will not be recommending this experience to any friends or family and will advise to avoid at all costs and we will be recommending the edge instead from the moment we got there within ten min if that we were at the top looking at the fantastic views and it did not cost extra on the admission charge to see the sunset

Our summit experience

By IVONNE T |

Awesome experience! I will repeat for sure. Special thanks to Imanie for being so kind, a wonderful guide, and for her patience explaining everything.

Bigger hole!!! Just thread more queue

By Lucas o |

If you like queue, vc is the right person for this visit!!! Expensive just to see building from the top, it's a crack, I lost at least 3:00 hours in line for 40 minutes of experience. Just run away!!!

Don't forget to get the photo package, it's only $25

By Angelica G |

My second visit to the SUMMIT. I love that they have timed slots for entrance, however, once you are there, nobody rushes you around. You experience at your own pace. The experience is FANTASTIC. The reason I am leaving this review is the photo package. I was in shock when I learned the photo package [all digital images] is only $25.00 and we were able to immediately download the images to our phones. We all downloaded the photos immediately had them on our phones. You get the photos in the bubble room, sunset, on the glass overhang, etc. It was a TERRIFIC surprise and $25 well spent!

NYE First Time 2025

By Cesar L |

Alyssa was our tour guide. She did an amazing job. Very knowledgeable, great personality. Extremely friendly and wanted us to have a great experience. Thanks Alyssa

By Rijang Miradji |

It was good experience overlooking New York
I get the afternoon entry for sunset but too crowded
Still find ways to take good photos

the best viewpoint in nyc

By Lex W |

:)
- I’ve been to multiple different viewpoints in new york city and this is by far the best and most interactive.
- different floors with different photo opportunities, activities, and views
- the price was not too bad, fair for the experience
- being able to stand on a glass floor over new york is truly a one of a kind experience

:(
- a bottle of water was $9
- the photos taken by the team were photoshopped awfully

Great experience would recommend highly.

By Jaime V |

EMMANUEL S WAS GREAT, very informative and was very patient even with such a big group. We deeply enjoyed our time here and will for sure be back soon

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt

By Cristina C |

One of the most trendy observers in this period.
Inevitable queue and waiting time of about 30 minutes. I recommend arriving 15 minutes before the booked time, because you can not wait in line well in advance.
We visited it at sunset with extra ascent (outdoor panoramic lift).
Stunning view.

An incredible experience despite some inconvenience

By Medhi L |

We had booked our tickets for Summit One Vanderbilt three weeks before our stay, with the option of a paid glass elevator at sunset. Ten days before our arrival, we had the unpleasant surprise to learn that these elevators were out of Service. Not only did this option remain available for sale, but in order to be reimbursed, it was necessary to go through a telephone Customer Service. Upon arrival, a hostess confirmed the breakdown and referred us to an official who made the refund directly to the credit card used at the time of booking.

Once this point was resolved, we were able to take full advantage of the experience. After a short film on the construction of the tower, the elevator climb was impressively fast. The show was simply magical: blue skies, bright sunshine, clear views of Manhattan and its surroundings. The interior architecture with its mirrors, the balloon room and the glass spaces open to the outside make the moment even more unforgettable. You really have to take the time to explore each space.

The highlight of the show is the outdoor terrace on the top floor, where you can watch the sunset with a musical Mood – a breathtaking moment. We enjoyed being able to have a drink, but unfortunately the Welcoming of the bartender tarnished this moment a little (no smile or hello, cold attitude). On the other hand, the sellers of the souvenir shop were adorable and very helpful.

Conclusion

Despite the initial concern with the fee-for-service option of glass elevators and improved Bar Service, visiting Summit One Vanderbilt is a breathtaking experience, which I absolutely recommend.

Loved our VIP service!

By Denise Y |

Imani was an AMAZING guide- A+ service that made us feel like rock stars. Highly recommend the VIP tickets to blow past all the lines and crowds!

Best observation deck in NYC

By S P |

Best observation deck out of them all - views are spectacular and the interactive element is good fun too. Definitely worth a visit!

Avoidance

By Maurizio B |

Avoid! More than an hour of waiting to enter despite having the ticket purchased for 10.30 we entered at 11.30 due to queue. Only three elevators working out of 4 that would already be insufficient, then an endless line to get out, crammed standing in the corridors as if we were in a cattle wagon...
Beautiful view, but the sacrifice of waiting standing, both at the entrance and at the exit is not worth it

Just for the views

By carlos |

The only thing worthwhile is the views. Endless queues, they carry you like sheep, balloons for children well, but for adults an idiocy. What I said just to see N. York from above.

An absolute highlight!

By iainw666 |

We were lucky enough to have booked this at sunset, absolutely breathtaking. A definite highlight and must see!! The lift is extremely quick to go up, however the queue to come back down can take a while, but honestly worth it.

Eeeemmmazing 🙏🏼

By Brianna G |

We had the best experience with Emanuel S!
Thank you so so much for the best tour ever!
Very attentive and great great photos, he went over and beyond!

Alyssa was wonderful!!

By Barbara R |

Great experience with the premium tour!!! Alyssa was wonderful!! She was always very clear and helpful. Will definitely come back soon at night per her suggestion

Stunning Views and a Truly Unique Experience!

By Givi Gogichaishvili |

Summit One Vanderbilt offers an incredible experience with some of the best views in all of New York. The height alone is impressive, but what really makes this place special is the combination of modern design, mirror installations, and interactive elements that create a sense of novelty and excitement.

The observation floors feel very spacious, and the reflections from the mirrors make the entire space look endless — it’s something you don’t see in other viewpoints. The panoramic skyline, Empire State Building, and Manhattan views are breathtaking, especially around sunset.

Highly recommended for anyone visiting NYC. It’s not just another observation deck — it’s a fresh, modern, and visually stunning experience that feels new even for those who have seen the city many times.

The wait is RIDICULOUS

By Ryann B |

This was an absolute disaster. All you do is wait in line for hours for a two minute picture. No one is honest upfront telling you how long the wait is. Then you WAIT to get down . Like why book tickets for 9:00 when it took an hour of waiting to get upstairs. Then a long ass line to get back down. Like absolutely awful!!!! Not worth it at all.

A great experience

By Wendy G |

This installation allows you to rise above the city limits while taking in breathtaking scenes of Manhattan! You ascent multiple times to a different experiential floor, each offering a different view of the city and immersion art experiences. You then decend back to the ground very quickly.

Excessive wait times and sadly an awful experience overall, AVOID!!!

By Destiny W |

Overall awful experience!!! We booked our tickets online weeks before our trip and arrived 15 mins before our booking as per email (8.30pm). We did not arrive to the top for another 90 minutes and faced another hour wait to get the lift down once we had finished the ‘experience’!!! Yes the experience itself was well done and we got some beautiful photos BUT it was not worth the 3 hours of queuing that we had to wait and if we was aware of this then we would have not booked this experience at all! Sadly communication with staff was very poor as they failed to have any explanation on the excessive wait time and there was lots of very unhappy customers due to a lack of space & facilities provided! I would NOT recommend this experience to anyone with children, elderly people, people with health conditions or anyone who would struggle to stand waiting in a line for long period of times and sadly even though the views were lovely I would recommend visiting another sight in the city!

Breathtaking Views and Perfect Spot for Photos

By Marta |

I was absolutely amazed by the Summit observation deck – it’s an ideal place to take stunning photos and enjoy unique views of New York City. Yes, it gets very crowded, but the overall experience makes it more than worth it. I highly recommend visiting around sunset: you get the rare chance to capture the skyline in three versions – daylight, sunset, and nighttime. The interiors are dark enough at night to avoid reflections in the glass, which makes photo-taking much easier. Truly a magical experience!

Angie is the best guide!

By Tierra C |

Angie was amazing! I was initially placed with the wrong group and she quickly brought my son and I up to speed and treated us amazingly!

It was a beautiful immersive experience!

By PDN |

The Ball room was my most memorable experience - had the most amazing time exploring! The ticket was worth the price, however we were more than an hour late due to traffic and had to pay an extra fee of $10 per head (which is understandable). Length of visit for us was about 3 hours.
Absolutely recommend experiencing Summit Vanderbilt when in New York!

Organized and breathtaking views

By Chantell de Palm |

All was well organized but just too strict on the 30 sec picture moment. Staff was friendly and we loved the reusable water bottles

Way too crowded to enjoy!

By Stay56089180526 |

Choose your time wisely! We went on a Sunday evening. The place is really cool and efficient despite the many lines you must stand in. There were way too many amateur photographers and selfie takers to maneuvers through yo enjoy the space. Society has moved from enjoying an experience to capturing the experience for someone else to enjoy. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our experience. Try to choose a less busy time if possible.

VIP Treatment!

By Jorge M |

Angie was amazing! VIP treatment and nothing less than above and beyond. Made sure the experience was amazing. Made sure we were comfortable, enjoying and was our photographer for our memories.

Bad experience

By Massimiliano A |

To begin with highly rude staff to arrogant rude security , the balloon floor full to the improbable even you can not walk there is much better in New York

A good attraction, ruined by queuing!

By Lucas & Abii |

What could have been a great couple of hours viewing experience, turned into a overwhelming and concerning few hours.
Arriving at our allocated slot of midday, going through security, the forced photograph, and then queuing for the lift, our experience didn't actually start until 12:50pm. The staff seemed very happy and were not concerned about the time we were having to wait and therefore assumed this must be normal.

The reminder-email before the experience gave a handy timeline for the recommended amount of time to be spent in each area, but with a clear omission of the queuing times!

Arriving at the top, it become apparent this was a very busy attraction. Very difficult to get clear views (let alone a photo) of the city when there was this much overcrowding. (A stark contrast to the Top of The Rock Experience).

This SUMMIT experience has a very strict one-way route, where you cannot return to a previous area. I think this causes a sense of overcrowding as people are reluctant to move on swiftly, wanting to make the most of their experience.

On the third floor of the attraction, there is a cafe/bar, but due to the overcrowding there was no chance of a seat with a drink in this area. There is external seating available, but the wind and -4 deg curtailed any opportunity here.

The worst part of the experience was when we wanted to leave. Again, following the one-way system lead us to the back of a queue that we thought was for an add-on photo package, so we tried to squeeze through, but were soon corrected by a staff member to say that THIS was the exit queue. To this day I still cannot work out why the queue was so long, there seemed to be plenty of lifts that could be used, and getting us out quicker would have made room for more guests to come in to the experience.

When we exited the lift at ground level, we were escorted quickly through the gift shop and to the exits, so there really was not anything to hold us back for!

However, the gents toilets did have good views, and was a good opportunity to pause and have a clear look at the view.

Therefore, in summary, a good attraction, ruined by queuing!

Overcrowded profiteering exercise.

By Derrick A |

Far too many people to make it enjoyable. Long queues that seem to go on and on. You can give up the will to live ! Give it a miss...the edge has the 'edge'.

Amazing Time!

By Mike |

Emanuel S was great! Def ask for him if you sign up for the Premier Tour! Amazing time! Well worth the money! Night time views are awesome!

Summit One Vanderbilt – NYC (December 3, 4:00 PM ticket)

By Angela W |

We specifically prepaid premium sunset tickets for Summit One Vanderbilt, arriving 15 minutes early as instructed. What followed was not an “experience” — it was a logistical failure disguised as luxury.

We weren’t even allowed to stand in line until 4:00 PM, because the 3:30 PM crowd still hadn’t gone through. From there, it took over 2½ hours just to get inside. By then, the sun had long since set — which is ironic, considering we paid extra specifically for the sunset time slot.

Yes, the view was beautiful. That is the only positive thing I can say.

After finally getting inside, we then faced an additional 1½-hour wait just to exit. People around us were missing Broadway shows and other timed reservations. Families were stressed. Plans were ruined. Staff seemed completely indifferent. The entire system was designed to pack in as many people as possible, without any respect for the time slots that were sold at a premium.

The whole experience should have taken 60–90 minutes. Instead, it consumed hours of our evening, and the company still refuses refunds — even though they failed to deliver what we actually paid for.

Charging premium prices while ignoring premium promises is not an oversight. It’s unethical.

I would not recommend this experience to anyone.

Best NY experience so far

By Sebastian B |

Imani was great. Unfortunately I cannot give 6 stars. My favorite room was the box. Happy we did the premium tour……………..

Instagram friendly

By sus1234567 |

Modern and instagram friendly. Worth visiting. Great view. We visited the place at midday in July, but chose a cloudy day to get the best possible photo light. You got nice pictures through the glass walls. On the terrace floor you also have to photograph through glass walls. I would also love to have had the opportunity to photograph without glass walls. However, I was not disappointed. I got nice photos of the view, but also many nice photos from the floor with balloons and mirrors everywhere. A surreal feeling. It is also possible to go out on a small glass floor where you can see Manhattan far below. The building has 93 floors with 360 degree views of Manhattan and then some. Book your ticket very early if you want to see the sunset during your visit. Don’t miss out on visiting Grand Terminal Station (and the small market hall) across the street or Bryant Park a block away.

Well worth a view

By Caroline M |

It was a fantastic experience surpassed our expectations. Not too busy and would recommend it to anybody was visiting NY

Queues, queues and then more queues

By karen |

Your experience at the top is totally overshadowed by the queuing before and after. Maybe 20 - 30 mins in the actual experience with 40 min wait to get to the top with a further 40 min wait to get down. Better sky line experiences in the city. My advice, don’t go to Summit One who gave out profit before people’s experience sadly.

Not Neurodivergent friendly at all

By F2652XAlisap |

EXPERIENCE - unfortunately this was the worst experience I had during my trip to NYC. We booked a 20:00 time slot and quickly questioned why when we had to join a very long line. We thought we were getting somewhere after over half an hour just to arrive in an area where you had to place covers on your shoes. Next we went to queue in a very warm and dark corridor so it was over an hour before getting the elevator to the first viewing platform.
Granted the viewing platform were like all the others spectacular giving time to take plenty of photos. Loved the room with the balls in.
We had paid extra to doo the glass elevator but this was closed due to the winds so we got a refund on that part of the ticket. We missed the desk for this and only realised we were in a queue to leave by chatting to the people in front.
This is when I lost it and had a full blown panic attack as it was gone 22:00 we had joined another queue with no communication as to how long it would be, it was a snaking line with no end in site and so warm. I had to find a member of staff and beg to be let out of the building.
One staff member did try and calm me down but I was a blubbing shaking wreck at this stage.
This could be so much nicer if there was some organisation and communication.

Bad experience in Summit

By juan pablo r |

One of the worst experiences of the trip. Poorly organized, bad treatment of tourist, waiting time more than 2 hours. It's not worth it. Don't go to summit.

Emanuel S was fantastic and gave a very thorough tour and explained everything in detail………………………………………………………………………

Great photo ops at Summit One

By Sarah W |

We had a great experience at Summit One minus the weather not cooperating. There are plenty of options for photos despite the weather and poor visibility. They were super sweet and allowed us to even put our booties back on and go back once the skies cleared up some. They are very willing to improve the experience where they can. A memorable experience to have especially for photo ops. We wore our Christmas PJ’s for the hopes to capture a Christmas card photo.

Definitely book!

By Gemma G |

Imani was the best tour guide. We had low visibility due to snow but she made it fun and definitely made up for it. I also recommend the hot chocolate after the tour!

Emanuel S. Was a great tour guide and he did awesome photos for our group! We will definitely be back!would recommend to all my friends!

2 hour queues to go up and hour + to get back down

By kiel l |

Bad management, 2 hour queues to get in with a lot of people allowed to queue jump when it suited.
Then to top the experience off you get to stand in another hour + queue for the lift back down.

Do not book or if you do expect to waste half a day.

One Vanderbilt Summit amazing!!!!!

By Carol Ann H |

Imani was wonderful! She was so patient with us and this was one of the best experiences in NYC. Do the VIP -very much worth it!

Beautiful day trip!

By Christine H |

Beautiful experience and impeccable views, this is a must see for anyone visiting New York.

Going in the sundown timeframes is perfect for gathering the beautiful shot !

I wish the eating area was larger , the outside deck is beautiful but wouldn’t be ideal during the colder months.

Fascinating

Very nice and surprising wonderful experience good activities. View of Manhattan splendid perfect organization

Worth the experience

By correiatheresa |

As we went in the Christmas period I found very time-consuming entry, no places to sit while waiting. I missed a place to store my jackets, to enjoy the place. The jackets in the hand make it harder for a better experience as the space is interactive. The spaces are amazing but I think they are allocating more people than what would be recommended for a quieter experience because we barred in a lot of people.

Exceptional

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome experience from the heights

I bought Summit Vanderbilt tickets through Tripadvisor and everything was perfect. The purchase process was fast, secure and very easy to follow. Upon arrival, access was smooth and the staff was friendly throughout.

The viewpoint is simply spectacular: the views of New York to the Empire State Building and Central Park, are excellent. The combination of mirrors, lights and panoramic views creates a unique, modern and very different experience to other observatories.

100% recommend this experience and buy tickets by Tripadvisor, as everything was very organized. Definitely one of the best memories of my trip to New York 2025!

Unbelievable. Must see.

By Brian D |

Arrived early. Waited on line. Just to find out we had mixed up the days. Richard (a manager) was unbelievably helpful. Set us up with a new time. Night time was his recommendation. He was right! It was great. So helpful.

Great views, long queues!!

By chloerolls |

This observation experience had both good and bad points. We booked a time slot of 1:30PM just before the ticket time that charges extra. We arrived at approx 1:25PM to stand in a queue for over an hour and a half to get into the experience. They clearly overbook and the wait to get in is just painfully long with nowhere to sit and rest whilst waiting.

Once in the experience it had both a beautiful view of NYC from all angles. Unfortunately due to the factors of sun, glass and mirrors it was unbearably hot inside which made us inevitably move on quite quickly. The experience was super packed full of people so you weren’t even able to get a photo without someone random being in it.

But on the plus side don’t book the tickets of extra charge for the sunset. Book 1:30PM as by the time you actually get into the experience it is sunset time.

The Best Premium Tour experience

By Christy R |

We had an awesome Premium Tour experience with Imani! She made the tour so enjoyable. We went at 3pm to enjoy the daylight views and be able to see the sunset and nighttime views. Imani was great with all the suggestions. 20/10 would recommend doing again!

Amazing experience!

By Juliana S |

Summit One was absolutely incredible and completely immersive, with stunning mirrored rooms and breathtaking city views. Every space felt unique and perfect for photos, especially with the skyline all around you. It is truly unforgettable and worth every penny.

BEST VIEW IN NYC!!

By Shanon R |

VIP experience was well worth the price! No lines and everyone was extremely accommodating. Imani was an INCREDIBLE guide! Must see this view of NYC!

Wouldn’t go again staff are rude qnd que time a joke

By Demi M |

Well where to start ! We paid extra for the sunset experience and our slot was 3pm ! So we get there well in advance to be told we had to joins very long Que at 3pm !!! To which we did and that took 2 hours (even tho we booked 3pm). So we missed the sunset experience what we paid for !

On the 1st floor my aunty suffered a really bad panic attack and the security man who we told because she needed to get down asap and was struggling get past the glass mirrors floor (what caused her panic) was no help at all literally kept saying we needed walk on she couldn’t get down yet she was having a full blown panic attack and he walked off ! Ended up me guiding her along whilst her eyes were shut and she stayed on the tiny grey part

Anyways me and mum carried on wr paid for the photo pass thing so we stood a long a que and the man taking photos was taking a full blown photo shoot of each person (I’m talking 20+ pics) so we missed out on photos on the 1st part ! The second last doing photos had no que she was super nice we had about 4 each

Would we return no the que was a joke and when you pay for a time slot u should be up on the then slot not put in a que ! Also a joke we paid for sunset and we didn’t even get to see it because of the 2 hour que

The views are good don’t get me wrong but some staff need people skills and manners

Just go and see for yourself!

By davysinc |

Incredible experience. Well worth the money for the views you get of NYC. Great cocktails too! Would do it again if back in NYC.

Don't believe your ticket time!!!

By Samantha G |

On arrival for our 3.30pm time slot we joined an extremely long line, which I totally appreciate is to be expected at these attractions during the holiday season.
Almost 2hrs later, and please understand that this is no exaggeration, and I'm sure anyone who leaves a review for 3rd Dec will have the same to say, we entered the 91st floor, luckily just catching the final glimpse of the sunset on the horizon (I feel for anyone who had booked the next couple of more expensive sunset specific slots).
The next hour was so worth the visit, the views, the experience of each level, all absolutely brilliant.
And then we came to leave, we then joined the exit queue, which whilst not as time draining as the entrance queue, still took over an hour and seemed to slowly absorb all the remaining positive energy from my soul.
I really felt for the staff as they were having to stave off frustration and sheer rudeness by some visitors, whilst they were only doing what they could do with the numbers they were having to deal with.
I would doubt that the shop, that now seems to be the norm to have to navigate before you can leave any of these establishments, made many sales at all. By the time you reached that section, giving anymore of your hard earned cash to a company that just didn't seem to care about your experience and it's customers, was the last thing on your mind.

Not worth it!

By Rebeca |

Very bad experience. Kilometre rows to T U D O. Until to go away. I lost a lot of hours on the journey. It's not worth it. On the day of my visit it was raining a lot and I had to remarcar..I didn't get online support, I had to personally travel to the summit to change the ticket for the next day, I lost money because they couldn't relocate me to the sunset time, which is more expensive. Don't crush anything. Don't go. There are other much better observatories.

Save your money AND YOUR TIME!!

By Tommy C |

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Family of 4 with tickets for 10:30 am. At 10:24 am we walk inside to be told we have to go away and come back at 10:30.

The line was ridiculously long and tempers were flaring.

At 12:10 pm they put us in a service elevator that they jokingly called the “VIP elevator” as we were loading into it.

It did take us up to the 91st (I believe) floor quickly. We got to take photos of the Empire State Building and other buildings.

As we got ready to do the LONG AWAITED Ascent portion (the entire reason we chose this excursion), we were told that the glass elevator wasn’t operating today!!

Nobody offered a refund until we approached the desk and asked about it. They wound up refunding about $23/person since we didn’t get to do that portion (again, which was the sole reason we chose this venue…).

By now, we have missed our time slot at the only restaurant my daughter wanted to go to during this trip!😡

I complained to a young lady and she said “we are above capacity, please leave a review”.

The line to get back down was VERY LONG as well! Again, saying “we are over capacity and getting you out as fast as we can.”

Again, the descent was in a “service elevator”, I’d call it a broom closet.

How are you operating over capacity when you sold the tickets with time slots on them??

Someone please explain this to me!!

I’m all ears.

Spend your money elsewhere! This is the biggest sham in New York.

Totally Worth A Visit!

By Emily B |

I did a lot of research on which building we should go to the top of in NYC and my research led me to Summit One Vanderbilt. It did not disappoint! The place is very well run and it was a super cool experience from start to finish. We were on a mother-daughter trip with two moms and two 11-year old girls and we all really enjoyed it. The views are wonderful and the mirrored floors definitely added to the experience. I didn’t realize going into it that they also had a clear ledge you could stand on, so that was also a pleasant surprise. I’m not sure if this experience would be great for younger kids, as it definitely has art exhibit vibes….not a great place for kids who want to run around.

Great views at sunset!

By CEL78 |

Had to queue for a bit but once up there was a great view and seemingly not too many people so easy to get to a window and look round. Wind meant we couldn’t go outside but otherwise great!

Great way to view NYC Skyline and New Jersey.

By K.H. |

Amazing views of the NY city skyline. Best to see at night when all the city is lit up. The experience was fun and interactive. Do as the ticket recommends and show up 30 minutes prior to your entry time. You need that time to get through the security line. The length of the visit is approximately 1 1/2 hours. You go through three floors (91, 92 and 93). The 93rd floor is the last floor and has a beautiful terrace. The sky ledge is a great photo opportunity and staff takes your photo. After your photo is taken you have 30 seconds to take your own photos before you are asked to move on. Everyone must wear protective booties.

Amazing and unforgeteable experience !!

Best views of Manhattan from the 3 levels.
I strongly recomend to go at the golden hour, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm to enjoy the sunset obove Manhattan.

Nightmare and waste of time

By michael |

A complete nightmare. We booked tickets at specific time (10.30) and had to wait 1 hour before entering (they complete overbooked it). 0% respect for customers. Overpriced !! Do not spend your time and money here.

Not to be missed

By sara f |

The Summit is an observatory located between the 91st and 93rd floors of the One Vanderbilt skyscraper, which opened in late 2021. In a short time it has become one of the most visited attractions in New York, thanks to its multisensory path that combines art, light and spectacular panoramic views of the city.
The experience is truly immersive and original: environments covered with mirrors and reflective floors, play of light and art installations with colorful balloons create surprising optical illusions. In addition to the breathtaking views, it is one of the most impressive places to take unforgettable photos.
Despite booking online, we faced long lines both to enter and exit the building. In addition, access to the balloon room was complicated due to the excessive number of people, and we managed to stop only at the entrance. Better regulation of admissions would be desirable to allow everyone to fully enjoy this extraordinary immersive experience, which remains an absolute must.

Environmentally wasteful “experience” by design, concerning short and long-term environmental impact

By Reviewer917 |

An environmentally unfriendly venue— by design!— which requires shoe covers for all it’s visitors (thousands per day, millions per year!) and has a room full of balloons (notoriously known for being non-recyclable items) contributing tons of unnecessary single-use waste and pollution. This soured the experience, I wish I had not visited! You can hear staff in the balloon room yelling at people not to pop the balloons, and balloons popping frequently (hello landfill!). It’s unfathomable to me that an “experience” producing exorbitant amounts of waste was designed, approved and permitted in NYC in this day and age.

Manuel S. Was amazing! We were hesitant about getting the premium experiencia, but you should definetly get the premium experience!

Amazing but the photo pack is not worth it

By kaz5912020 |

This place is amazing from beginning to end. Completely different to anything experienced previously. From the mirrored lift, through the different floors of fun to the external glass elevator. We had the best time and I would definitely recommend it despite the lengthy process to enter.
Only downside was the photo package. The photo package is a complete rip-off. Save your money and take your own pictures. They lead you to believe your photos will be taken throughout the experience, but that’s not true. They take one photo on entry and then simply superimpose it onto various backgrounds with the summer logo.

They do take a few photos in one part of the experience, but then tell you there will be more as you go through — another complete lie. No additional photos were taken, and the ones we did get were almost identical.

Photo album is photos you put in an album yourself.

Please don’t waste your money. You can take fantastic photos yourself and save the $80 per couple they charge. Total disappointment.

A Truly Unique NYC View

By Our Own Path - Kassie and Rick |

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is unlike any other observation experience in New York City. The mirrored rooms, floating balloons, and panoramic skyline views make it feel immersive rather than just another “lookout.”

We visited during a very busy summer week and were impressed by how well the experience flowed, especially early in the morning. There’s plenty of space to move through the rooms, take in the views, and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Seeing the city from this perspective is genuinely memorable, especially for first-timers or teens.

If you’re deciding between observation decks, this one stands out as something different and well worth the visit if you are going with teens.

In love with the place

Excellent place. Super recommended. Amazing views. Fantastic food and drinks. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

A great night, despite the waiting

By Steph E |

We were booked for a time slot, and looking at the line, we wanted to get on time. We were told we couldn't join until half an hour before. So beware. It took 40 mins to get in. Then we waited again to actually get up to the floors.
The experience was great, though, once we got in.
We missed the levitation experience as it required yet more waiting.
The views are amazing, especially at night.
I would also say, that your personal experience depends on the people you go with. Have some fun, but be mindful of others. My cousin got hit very hard in the face by a balloon and we had to leave that experience earlier than we needed.
It's expensive, both for the tickets, the photo if you choose to have one and the cocktails at the top. But this may be the only time you do it, so make the most of it and enjoy it.
Just be aware, that the mirrors, lights, etc can cause dizziness and disorientation, just take your time.

Disappointing

By Katy O |

I feel Summit over booked tickets to maximise on the holidays - we queued for an hour to get to the lifts. The views were good but the rooms were over crowded and too busy to enjoy. The website said 5min for one room - we were there 1 minute max. I bought the photo package with my tickets and was disappointed that the group picture taken at the beginning was photoshopped onto different backgrounds. I thought there would be opportunities in each room for photographers to capture moments but there was only one. The photos were of us as a family 👍🏻 but none of the wonderful view we had behind us 😕 We could have been standing on the ground floor. Very over-hyped and expensive for how long we were there (45min). The Edge was a better experience.

No recommendation

By Carmen H |

We were so looking forward to an unforgettable experience and then we started: 5.30 P.M. WAS OUR ADMISSION DATE AND FROM THERE WE WERE STANDING IN VARIOUS LINES UNTIL SAY AND WRITE 7.25 P.M. AGAIN. INCREDIBLY, LIKE A HERD OF CATTLE, ONE WAS “PUSHED THROUGH”. When we finally arrived at 91. The view was indeed a force, but already on the next floor everything was taken over in an “organized” manner WITH THE GLASS FLOOR, namely in such a way that photos were taken of you and then you had only 30 seconds to take a picture yourself. My guess now is to build up pressure so that your own pictures are nothing (that was how it was with us) and you should buy the overpriced pictures.

MY CONCLUSION... I WILL NOT recommend THIS “ attraction” to acquaintances, I WILL EVEN DISCOURAGE it and you should take the money and have a nice evening.

EXCEPTIONAL!

By Meander41940325012 |

Truly an exceptional experience. The views, food, drinks and ambience exceeded my expectations. The admission fee was worth the visit. It was crowded, however, the lines moved quickly. The staff went above and beyond to assist or accommodate.

Really good experience spent a few hours in there, then had drinks in Apres as the sun set . Perfect day, highly recommend

Really disappointing overall experience🙁

By Mols |

I really don't like leaving a bad review but this one is kind of both good and bad!

The entire experience of this place was chaos.
Before we went to NYC, we booked tickets for the sunset viewing of around 4:00pm which have a specific sunset price on their website. We arrived a little early, joined the queue which didn't look too long and were given wrist bands.

People around us were turning up around 30 minutes early and were being turned away to come back at their time, when they said they were worried about the queue, they were reassured, however when we got to what we thought was the end of the line, we realised it was about 3 times the length of what we had just been in.

Now at 4:30, the sunset was happening above us outside but we were still about an hour away from getting in, meaning we were totally missing the sunset view that we had paid to see from the top.
One of us jumped out of the queue, deciding that we didn't want to see it at night as that wasn't the plan, and went to see a member of staff to share our concerns that we were missing the view our ticket was for.

They were very accommodating, offering to either refund the difference between the sunset and a normal ticket or just giving us a full refund, w accepted and left.

I’m sure this is a great experience if you do actually get up there but I guess just go an hour of two before you actually want to be looking at the view?

Not the best NY experience.

By Rutger Rienks |

We were there at 19:30 and felt like cattle how were moved up the queue. It is a lot of waiting in hot and dark lines. Once on top the view is amazing, but still there is a lot of crowd without much room for photo’s. The balloon room worked very bad for our three year old. I’d not do it again. A waste of a lot of money.

Amazing Views

By realestatekim |

The views were amazing and the mirrored walls and floor were very cool. We loved the room that had the mirrored balls in it as well. Getting the digital picture package for $25 was not bad at all and the lines moved very quickly.

Beautiful experience!

By Isabel C |

A building worth visiting, at a high altitude to take pictures of New York. The flying silver balloons give it a spectacular touch.

Amazing Tour

By Melissa H |

The Summit at Vanderbilt was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, the experience felt seamless, well-organized, and truly unforgettable. The views are breathtaking in every direction, and each level of the exhibit offers something unique—from the immersive art installations to the panoramic skyline scenes that don’t even feel real.

Irmani guided us on premium tour she was wonderful, and made the entire visit smooth and enjoyable. The space is spotless, beautifully designed, and perfect for photos without ever feeling rushed.

If you’re visiting NYC, this is a must-do experience. It exceeded every expectation and is easily one of the best observation deck tours in the city. Highly recommended!

Unbelievable experience, worth every penny!

Incredible experience! Could not recommend more highly. Entry level ticket was more than enough… so wait time, views were mind-blowing. We went with three children and three adults, some of us living here in the city and some friends from out of town, and an amazing time was had by all.

Great immersive experience with stunning views. Busy but queues went down quickly and always a space to get decent photos

CATASTROPHIC!!

By Vladimir D |

If I could put a 0 I would! The pitiest organization I’ve ever seen and I’ve traveled a lot! I never leave reviews but people need to know what they are getting into.
We have to pay two tickets with the 4pm schedule with in addition the billing of a surcharge for this schedule!!! We waited 1h55 precisely before we could climb it was so far away the sunset! We had something planned in the evening at 7:30 pm so we thought it would be the same mess for the descent (because it’s a one way trip basically once you’ve ridden you have to do everything the way without return possible and everyone takes the same exit)
So we stayed watch in hand 15min and very well took us because it took again 1h10 to get out of this capharnaum
Cumulative more than 3 hours of tail!!!!!!! Exorbitant price, deplorable organization and extra for the sunset that should be refunded given the scam we suffered!
To flee to not suffer the same as us!!!
Good luck to those who want to queue
Perhaps I'd revisit that if the Summit One Vanderbilt customer service is able to react to and remedy the situation we've been through.

Extremely poor experience

By Tom W |

I have never ever known such shocking organisation. Booked this experience for 18:00 slot on 03/012/25. Now, when you have to book a slot, you expect to turn up and start straight away. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Almost two hours it took to queue just for the lift to get up to the summit. The staff couldn’t care less you’d been waiting two hours. Their response was pretty much along the lines of, not my problem.

The views are superb, especially at night. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the ridiculous wait time. We decided not to do the top floor which was the open deck as once again, there was a significant wait time.

On the way to the exit, disappointed with the experience, we found there to be another queue to EXIT?? Never have I had to queue to exit a venue.

All in all, the experience was a disgrace. The staff couldn’t care less and did not care about the welfare of customers who had been waiting for hours. There was no where to get any water or sit down.

I’d maybe recommend a helicopter ride instead.

Great experience with lots of different rooms and views for one ticket

By Travelguru1007 |

We booked this for Christmas Day and I was close to not bothering with stories on Tripadvisor advising of horrible delays but we didn’t experience this and would suggest you allow plenty of time and go for it. We had a 12.30 ticket which is the time you need to be there for and we were there bang on 12.30 and sent to the back of the queue which looked long. However, we were in the lobby and security checks in 30 minutes and in the lifts up to the top within 45 minutes. The first room is the mirrored floor and full glass window breathtaking view experience. You aren’t hurried to get out of this room and you can spend enough time to get as many photos as you want here out of each window with different views. You then move onto different rooms with helium balloons and other rooms with views, including the glass box that hangs over the edge of the building - all rooms are included in the price of the standard ticket. We paid for a $20 digital photo package at the time of booking on the website and this is definitely worth doing. Bear in mind that the first automated photo that gets taken after security checks in the lobby are included in this package and gets used in various photos with different backgrounds - so ditch your coats and bags so you get a good photo here. There is a floor that has a professional photographer at each end of the room which I think is the floor above the helium balloons. These photographers will take group photos for you with the photo package for no additional cost which are linked to your wristband which can be picked up on the top floor with a phone download. We had to book the Summit ascent ticket on the website as the standard tickets were sold out but we’re actually happy that this ascent part of the experience was cancelled whilst we were in the queue for it due to high winds and we were given a refund of over $100 dollars for the 4 of us due to this not being available. We then went to the bar as we had included cocktails within our original booking. The cocktails were delicious (Sky Thai was amazing) and with plenty of alcohol in them. We had taken our time in all rooms and by the time we were sat with our first cocktail we only had an hour until sunset so decided to have a couple more cocktails up there and wait for some sunset photos which were great. We weren’t expecting to be able get sunset photos with a 12.30 booking but if you don’t rush or get upset about waiting it is possible with a relaxed day. The queue for the lift down was about 30 minutes but when we got to the back of that queue they immediately had a service lift available to go down so there was zero wait. We all had an amazing day and would advise to not hesitate booking but don’t only allow yourself 2 hours for the whole experience or it will stress you out.

Highly recommend

By Bemnet D |

It is amazing experience. Very beautiful and the view is to die for.
The place can be crowded but you can absolutely find a place to capture a beautiful picture.

Very Disappointed

By Grace O |

We paid extra to get a sunset ticket. Arrived at 4:20 (as we had been told by staff) with a 4:30 ticket and didn’t get up to the summit until 5:35 so we missed the sunset which we paid more for. Stayed up there for 40 minutes and queued again for another hour and 15 minutes to get down. Staff very helpful and apologetic but was very poorly organised.

Excellent. Above expectations

By JosĂŠ Pedro D |

Excellent. Despite the somewhat time-consuming entrance process the experience in the mirror room and the 360 view of the city are well worth the money spent and the wait. There are slots for the entrance but count on some waiting for the security procedures. The effect created by the mirrors is unique and magnificent. Also the location in the city and the views provided in all directions are fantastic. If you have to choose between the Summit One or the Empire State, this is the option.

Cool and different Experience at the Summit

Eric was all the time generous and helpful. Very nice person. It was a Great experience being guieded by him. We really has a Great time!

Best way to see the city!

By Lucy Rogers |

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt was a fantastic experience. The observation deck is really interactive and offers incredible views of the city in a full 360. — definitely great value for money. I thought it would be a timed experience but once you’re in you can spend as long as you like in there, just don’t move up to the next floor until you’re ready as you can’t go back. There were queues to get in, they moved quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d absolutely do this experience again, and next time I’d love to see it at night.

Rubbish, more time queuing than seeing

By Angie P |

Absolute waste of money. Didn’t get it. Queues far far too long. Full of wannabe influencers. One observatory is much better, more chilled, same views and you can get a beer! Don’t bother with this one!

2.5 hours to get up in 2.5 hours to get back down the elevator… minimum

By Foodiegal3 |

We had an 830 reservation and arrived on time only to find a line that was so far you couldn’t see the end. It was like Disney world lines to the fullest! No one could tell us an approximate wait time. By the time we got to the elevators, we had waited 2.5 hours once we got to the top. It was amazing views, but the experience only lasted 45 minutes. And guess what? It was 2 1/2 hours of Mohr waiting in a line to get down the elevator. Worst experience for us in our children. We literally felt trapped on the 92nd floor with no food no water no way to get down other than to wait which we had no idea how long would be. Skip this experience and try something else. by the way, they have plenty of workers and you can ask all of them approximately how long the wait is and they will tell you they have no idea.

1-hour line for entry

By PeterfromDC |

We booked a timed entry ticket on a Sunday morning thinking that it wouldn’t be crowded. After waiting 30 minutes in line, we left and gave up our tickets. What’s the point of timed entry if you have to wait in line for 45-60m?

Great Experience had a blast!! Saw crazy sights and got to hangout with family. Emanuel S was awesome. Would recommend for people traveling.

A lot of unnecessary queuing. Don't bother if you have a packed itinerary !

By Katie H |

Had a 7.30pm slot for there at 7pm and waa told to wait until 7.30pm to queue..we went back at 7.10pm and started queuing. We then did just that queued from one place then queued to the next. Then queued for a photo (had to do this) then queued to see the photo. We didnt want to see it but still had to queue. We then queued in a very dark hall, could hardly see the person in front and queued for ages here to. In total we queued for 1hr (which from reading other's reviews was actually not bad!) We then got in the lift. The floors were ok once in and views obviously were fab but it was busy...the ball room was packed with people wacking the balls around. We then needed to leave as we had a booked theatre and needed to get there...we then had to queue to get out!!!! A few in the queue including us were getting frustrated at this point as a lot of time is wasted queuing...clearly too many people allowed up at each slot time. They finally called us out of the queue to go down the service lifts and out. Ive read since they regularly use the service lifts to get people out! Annoyed we payed so much for what felt like a lot of queuing....out of all of the attractions we've done, and we've done a lot whilst her in New York, we've never had to queue for this long.

Amazing Experience

The place is definitely worth a visit. The staff are extremely friendly and take good care of you from beginning to end. The photos they take are stunning. I loved it and will definitely be back. I highly recommend everyone visit this place.

Summit One Vanderbilt – NYC’s Most Spectacular Observatory

By esc014 |

If you're looking for something unique in New York, the Summit One Vanderbilt is a must-see. It is not just an observatory: it is an immersive experience that transforms the classic panoramic view into a multisensory journey.

As you enter, you find yourself in futuristic spaces covered with mirrors that multiply the skyline indefinitely. Art installations, like Kenzo Digital’s Air, create plays of light and reflections that make you feel suspended between heaven and earth. Then there is Levitation, the glass platforms that protrude into the void: walking with Manhattan under your feet is pure adrenaline! If you want to go further, try Ascent, the panoramic glass elevator that takes you even higher.

The view is breathtaking: from the Empire State Building to the Statue of Liberty, to the Brooklyn Bridge. Our 10-year-old loved it: between mirrors, silver balloons and interactive spaces, it was pure fun for her too.

Important note: our booking was on a cloudy day, with no visibility. We were resigned to just the experience without a view, but the staff was fantastic: they proposed to move the visit to another day, paying only a small surcharge (USD 6 per person). A gesture that shows great attention to visitors!

Practical tip: book online and choose morning times to avoid the crowds. If you can, go to sunset: the light reflected on the surfaces creates a magical atmosphere.

In summary: it is worth every penny. It is not just seeing New York from above, it is experiencing it in a completely new way. An experience that remains in the heart and in the photos!

Wonderful experience

Incredible view from different floors, the balloons they had inside was so much fun, recommend going when it’s not raining because you get the view much clearer, nice bar upstairs and lots of pictures to be taken.

Not for impatient people

By Abby B |

3 stars at best. This is just my personal opinion. They only had 2 elevators operating and the wait was over an hour. The line was very claustrophobic. Cool views though.

A must-do in NYC – truly unique and unforgettable views!

By Anthony B |

We booked a 3pm slot for Summit One Vanderbilt and arrived a little early to explore the area — there’s so much to see nearby, including Grand Central Station, Rockefeller Center, and the New York Public Library.

Having visited several viewing platforms around the world, I can honestly say this one stands out as something special. Spread across four levels, each floor has its own unique design and atmosphere — from the mirrored rooms to the open-air terraces — making it more than just a viewpoint, it’s an experience.

The views are breathtaking in every direction: the Chrysler Building, Central Park, and the Empire State all perfectly framed for some incredible photos. One small tip — bring sunglasses! The reflections and bright light can be intense, but if you forget, they do provide free ones.

Summit One Vanderbilt is an absolute must-do for anyone visiting New York. It’s modern, immersive, and completely unforgettable.

Shocking experience

By Jack G |

We brought the sunset time (which cost more) so our entry time was 4pm……. We tried to start queuing at 3:30 but got turned away from staff….. after we returned at 4pm we then queued for over two hours to get to the lift. The experience at the top was great!! Until we had to que an extra hour to get the lift back down!! When we asked staff about the wait and extra we paid for the sunset they couldn’t really why it was taking so long?? We also had another reservation at 8:30pm which we actually missed which cost us in excess of $400!! We wasn’t informed that this experience would take in excess of 4/5 hours!!

I would advise anyone with younger families to avoid!! My daughter (12) suffers with ADHD and anxiety which the staff dismissed but they did allow others to use a different lift to get down.

Best observation deck for photos within, queues were long but went down pretty quick. We were in within an hour. Fabulous visit and would recommend a visit here

This was a phenomenal tour. Or tour guide was amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and made the experience well with it!

Sunset

By Ana luisa B |

The sunset was stunning! Second time there, this time with my family.
The night views are also amazing.
They loved the experience.

A cool experience for 5 minutes, then just a room full of the same. Go to the edge if you’re looking for an experience.

By Dutchie |

Long Qs and I was hoping it would be an amazing sensory experience. Sadly not.
Once you’ve been in for 5 minutes, it’s just more of the same.
The service, much like a lot of NYC is dreadful. You’re a number and an inconvenience. The colleagues working there don’t really care about speed, accuracy or smiling when you order food or drinks.a number I shouted and it’s tossed on the counter.
I expected more, last experience of my visit to the city, gladly not the first.

Was worth EVERY dollar

By Naomi A |

Imani E was our tour guide and she did a OUTSTANDING job. She made the entire experience even more worth the paying extra.

Long waits and chaotic queuing systems

By Alana Erin |

Firstly, when you arrive in the waiting area, it is chaos. There are no instructions as to where you need to go, and the queues are long. We waited in a queue for an hour and got to the front of the line to be told we were standing in the wrong place and were asked to join the back of the queue again. After some persuading they let us through to the security area prior to the experience.
We got there 30 mins early for our 20.30 slot and we're glad we did as the wait times were uncomfortable. The experience itself was good, though overcrowded. The views are amazing. When you are done and want to leave expect a minimum of 1 hour queuing to get to the lifts. Even then, the staff were loading the lifts with people and waiting long periods before sending them down.
I wish I hadn't gone as it took 3 hours from start to finish and was a waste of time due to the long queues. Due to the over crowded experience rooms, we must have spent 20 minutes on the actual experience. The rest of the time was waiting in line. We witnessed staff arguing amongst them selves and being quite rude to the guests. Maybe other times of the day/year may be different but if you're thinking of going, leave 3-4 hours to allow time from start to finish.
Again, views were great, but that was about it

Poorly organised, expect long queues despite having a ticket.

By India R |

Extremely poorly organised, our original booking time was 10pm. It took 45 minutes to get to the first floor, in this time we were just queuing through security and for the lifts. Then once we went around the floors we had a 1 hour queue to use the exit lift. The views were incredible but I would not recommend this as there are other incredible viewpoints without the horrific wait times.

Make sure you don't miss this amazing experience!

By Ann P |

My daughter was so excited to do this and I was afraid the height would get to me, but this was an AMAZING experience I recommend to everyone even if you're afraid of heights. We chose to go to a late reservation (10:00pm) and it did not dissappoint. The view of the city lights at night were mesmerizing! The staff was very friendly and helpful and I loved that we weren't rushed through the different rooms. Be prepared for the entry line to take a little bit though. They will take your group photo before you go up to the top. If you choose to purchase your pictures you will pick them up from a kiosk on the top floor before exiting. (we almost missed this) . You will get 30 secs to take a picure on the see through floor so have your poses already decided on. Also the line to exit back down to the bottom takes a little bit so if you have to be somewhere plan to start exiting the building in plenty of time. This was worth the price for sure! Make sure you do this one!

Disappointing visit

By loopylass789 |

Felt rushed, got moved through rooms by being told there’s more to see, move along…..overpriced and over sold, disappointing.

A beautiful experience with Top view

By viaggiandoviaggiando |

Very tall skyscraper with views of the whole city with mirrors and very beautiful visual games. Fun and interesting for adults

Go if you enjoy staying in the line for hours

By Khachik N |

The time on your ticket doesn’t mean anything, you will be waiting for at least an hour before entering. It’s horrible, they sell too many tickets for the same time.

Amazing experience at the Vanderbilt because of one employee. Felipe.

By Joe F |

I took the wife and children here last week and it was an amazing experience. The check in process was seamless. Once you get to the top and come around the corner, the views are breathtaking. The experience is divided into one large room and several side rooms all with their own unique view the city.

However, I will say the true star of the experience was the employee Felipe . My wife is terribly afraid of elevators and almost backed out of coming with the family to the top, not only did Felipe speak to my wife in her native language. He stayed with her the entire time and even wrote the elevator with us to make sure she got the top OK. Without him, I don’t think my wife would’ve came to the top and had the experience and made the memories with my family. I could not thank him enough.

If you love standing in lines, you'll love this experience

By Cheryl I |

We waited in so many lines during this experience that it killed the excitement for the experience. Super long lines to get in... it was telling when we arrived at our timeslot and the time before us was still waiting in line that it was going to be a long night. There were lines to get to each different floor. There were so many people was hard to view and take pictures and there was an extremely long line to even get back down the elevators.. On our way up we even took a back room elevator, which seemed skeptical. This experience could be enhanced by selling less tickets. It just seemed as if they wanted to make more money and did not care about the customer's experience.

Fantastic and worth a visit

By laura |

We really enjoyed our visit. We went at 3.30pm for sunset, queues were not bad at all (except for the toilets). It was a fantastic experience with the different rooms and superb views and would recommend. Only one niggle was the window hoggers and people that had taken their own photographer taking up loads of space! Other than that, it was fantastic and well worth a visit - we were there about 1.5 hours.

Worst New York Experience Ever!!!

By David T |

Worst experience ever. Bought 4:30pm general admission plus ascent tickets. Lined up from 4:30 to 6:25 before even getting to the lift. Once we got up to the top we only had a short time to actually take in the view due to show tickets. When attempting to leave we had to line up again for another hour. Didn’t make our show.

Yes views were amazing but not worth the extensive waiting time and totally ruining any other plans made for the day.

Fantastic experience

By Chris |

I purchased a premium experience ticket ÂŁ124
This ticked included Express queuing, a tour guide a drink at the bar and photos.

Shaun or CJ greeted us by the stand marked Premium experience at our time slot. Shaun was very friendly and knowledgeable about the whole experience.
After going through the security and photos taken we where put in a lift which took seconds to reach the 92nd floor, where we put on over shoes.
Shaun talked us through each section of the experience, keeping our tour group of 10 people together.
The 360d views of Manhattan and other areas are simply just breathtaking.

The imersive experience is fantastic and such a wonderful experience. It wasn't to busy for us but it can get busy.

The mirrored floors are not for the faint hearted but once you get used to it, your fine.

Once the experience was over, shaun took us to the bar area to watch sunset and have a complimentary drink.

Absolute Joke, don’t bother with this unless you have at least 6 hours to spare!

By TravelNF |

We arrived for our 11:30 reservation at 11:25 and were told we could not enter the queue until it was 11:30 because they were still letting in the last groups from 11:00. We finally got into the actual elevator at 12:00 after long long queues.
The actual experience was okay with good photo opportunities but the waiting ruined everything.
There is clearly not enough elevators and they have prioritised ramming as many people in for money instead of the experience for the customers. The staff just do not care and will not help you at all. It took nearly 2 hours to exit, queueing from the 3rd floor to the 2nd, and wrapping around the building.
Halfway through the 2nd floor queue and they opened a random lift up and hand selected people to exit via this way too.

Would never recommend anyone does this, we’ve missed our visit at the museum because of it!

Brilliant observatory !

By Nimish |

Brilliant! Loved it. Funky, balloons, glass mirrors everywhere. Nice new building and experience. Efficient check-in. When we went, it was very busy. Our ticket was for 3.30pm on weekday. Just enough time to see in the day and then see the sunset.

A terrific experience!

By theresamor |

Your comment: Absolutely, this was a wonderful experience! Conveniently located, very organized and everyone we encountered in the staff were exceptionally kind and courteous! This is a beautiful place! Of course, the views were astounding!!
I would not recommend paying extra for sunset like we did/ it ended up being overcast, and got dark anyway by the time we started ascending.
Also, we arrived 20 min late, and it wasn’t an issue.

Beware - long queues

By kathysion |

Do not book total chaos . Massive queues for over an hour just to get to elevator. People very upset. No co ordination or offer of refund.

An amazing sensory experience

By angied7au |

What an amazing sensory experience. Angie walked us through at our pace and took time to explain everything to us. Paying extra for skipping the line and a personal tour guide was well worth it and beat the crowds.

Friday at the Summit One Vanderbilt

By Luis C |

It was a bright autumnal day, the views are amazing, you can see the whole NYC, and the room with the balloons it´s great for kids and adults

Not worth it.

By Mobile08957162069 |

Very busy, long, long queues. Difficult to get a decent photo as so busy and full of tik tokers hogging the windows. Don't buy the photo book as it's one image of you, superimposed on different backgrounds( very amateur looking). Better options available, Empire state etc. Not sure why there is a balloon room? Not worth the money.

Amazing, great staff, amazing atmosphere

By Eune G |

I visited the Summit a month ago with my friends and this month I went with my partner. Absolutely beautiful, the staff wS so friendly & we had cocktails on the rooftop. Will definitely make my way back with my parents :)

Must See!

By Debbie H |

A must see experience while in NYC!! Make time to enjoy the food and drinks after your viewing! Don’t forget the pictures!

Great experience but the queues

By Peter000007 |

The experience is excellent once you get there and I would recommend as it’s different to the others with amazing New York views. However be aware of long queues.

We had the 6.30pm slot booked. Arrived early and joined the queue at just after 6pm to be told to come back in 15 or so minutes which we did and of course then we were way further back in the queue. Took around 45 minutes to actually get to the lifts. When coming down again long queues and took 25 minutes. If you are ok and patient with a queue then ok and of course if you have never done this it’s a must but not so sure I would do again and simply because of the queues and nothing else.

perfect

By OnAir57207681182 |

She was am amazing and took such good photos with us!! 10/10 i would do this again with her if i could!! The crowd was calm and definitely worth the price!

It sucked, save your money, doing something else

By Aaron G |

Of all the things we saw in NYC during our trip this was the worst and most regrettable. Do not recommend and will not be going back.

Had an appointment for this experience at 6:00PM Didn’t actually see any of the events until around 7:30PM. By the time we were done it was 9:15PM. We spent 2 hours and 45 minutes just waiting in lines while employees badgered us with all the things we could do not do. The worst part was the 45 minute wait to leave. You are trapped up there and they won’t even let you take the stairs. Yes it was that bad that we wanted to walk down 90 flights of stairs.

Too add insult to injury we asked an employee at the beginning if there would be lines the whole time and he flat out lied to us and said the first 1 hour and 30 minute was the only line we would be in. Would have happily walked away to get our evening back after a colossal waste of time and money.

Lots of better attractions in NYC with more bang for your buck than this one.

Vanderbilt review 25

By Vladimir |

Bad tower

Amazing building ruined by terrible organization
Vanderbilt at North Summit is visually stunning. The building itself is beautiful, the views over New York are incredible, and the exhibitions are modern and impressive.
Unfortunately, the entire experience is completely ruined by terrible organization.
The queues are absolutely horrendous — long, slow, overcrowded, and chaotic. You spend most of your time standing in tightly packed lines, moving at a painfully slow pace, instead of actually enjoying the views.
The flow of visitors is poorly managed, and the staff seem overwhelmed and unable to control the situation. What should be an inspiring and memorable experience turns into frustration and exhaustion.
In short:
✔️ Great architecture and views
❌ Awful organization
❌ Unacceptable waiting times
Huge potential, but at the moment it’s a big disappointment.

All that glass!

By Ascarry01 |

This took us out of our comfort zone. All that glass! We went on a cloudy day so not perfect views, but still great. Might be why the crowd was small, which worked for us. Got to take our time exploring and enjoying the venue. A bit pricey.

Experience with a View

By Laurency W |

First off Angie Deleon our guide was phenomenal. Each floor is a different experience and the views are spectacular and breathtaking. I highly recommend the Vip premium Experience and skip the lines, it is so worth the money and you get professional photos. There will be a photographer at different levels taking photos of you or your group. Angie D is very knowledgeable and you are not rushed. Thank you Angie for an amazing experience.

Beautiful views, plan to wait in long lines.

By Elizabeth H |

Views and experience was wonderful, once you got up the top. We had a 4:30 ticketed time and did not make it to the elevator until 5:30. Did not plan to spend an hour waiting in line after ticketed time, so missed other evening plans we had made.

AWFUL! Hours of queueing.. not worth it

By 113taniad |

AWFUL from start to finish. If you like paying money to queue then this perfect for you. Queue after queue after queue for all of 10 minutes of view!
Honestly it’s a scam. Massively oversubscribed.. 1.5 hrs queueing to get up there then 1.5 hours to get down.
Unless your a queue enthusiast.. I’d avoid, like the plague.. they were unapologetic and didn’t own the disaster they created. Not worth a dime!
I’ve never wrote a review but felt this deserved one.
Wish I’d taken more pics of the queues to show you

Aggressive employees, horrible waiting time! Dare to charge more for specific hours and do not deliver the experience.

Pick the edge over this one any day!

By tibou73 |

Very disappointing experience at Summit One Vanderbilt. We had timed tickets for 3:00 pm but ended up waiting over an hour just to get inside. The whole process felt chaotic and poorly managed, as if far too many tickets were sold for the same time slot, clearly prioritizing profit over customer experience. Once inside, it was overcrowded, with too many people clamoring for window space, making it hard to enjoy the views or atmosphere. For the price, this was not the experience we expected at all. We witnessed staff yelling at people in the ball room. We couldn’t wait to leave .

NOT TO BE MISSED

One of our favorite attractions

By Angelia S |

One of our favorite attractions! Purchased tickets and the photo package online in advance. Arrived early for our time slot and had very little wait. All the rooms were fun and not overly crowded. Definitely recommend the photo package - the photos were great! This was a must-do for us and it exceeded our expectations.

Pretty, not worth 3.5 hours in lines!

By Janet N |

We arrived at 3:50pm for our 4:00pm time slot. Summit One staff were trying to organize the sea of people into the 3:30 vs 4:00 time slot groups. That should have been our first clue that the event was overbooked. Little did we know that we would stand in our line for 2 hours and 10 minutes before we reached the first venue!! Just when you thought you were getting close to the elevators, there was yet another turn revealing more queued up guests. There was an option to step out of line and get a refund which several people did. Knowing now that we would also have to wait in a ridiculously long line to leave the venue, I would have to say I would have elected the refund option.
Once we got to the elevator and up to the top, the views from the Transcendent 1 room were great! The reflection exhibit was lackluster as well as the air/cloud exhibit. We never saw our faces in the clouds. The Air: Affinity Exhibit was fun and allowed for some good pictures. We took the elevator up to the terrace which was pretty. But then we learned that to get out we had to get back into a queue to leave the venue. This took another 1.5 hours! I do not exaggerate with these times! This 4:00 time slot was severely overbooked!!! Shame on you for allowing this scenario to exist. Why allow so many bookings for 1 time slot?!

Amazing!!

The best view in NY

By Maria Elvira A |

Excellent view, unique experience. We went x afternoon, surely the sunset view must be spectacular! It is very easy to get the entrance, there is Availability (in covers) always!

Do NOT recommend!!!!

By Sienna H |

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!! We had to wait over 45 minutes to get to the top with only one elevator working. Once we arrived at the top, it was overcrowded, badly managed and lots of people complaining about wait times. Once we had been to each level and wanted to go back down, we then had to wait over an hour and a half in an awful queuing system to even reach the elevator. We spoke to several people whilst in the queue and everyone had the same opinion, with some people missing their next bookings elsewhere due to waiting for so long. It is not worth the views or experience and you should 100% go to other viewpoints to see the same views of the city.

Great views and a cupcake

By Tim P |

Amazing views
Reasonably priced food (not drinks!) at the tops. Delicious cupcake!

The only downside was all the people who were obsessed with their selfies that wanted to take up entire windows for their Instagram .

Don’t waste your money or your day

By j0s124 |

We were looking forward to seeing the ‘sunset’ so much hence we booked this slot in advance and also paid more for the luxury. We arrived early but we weren’t able to start queuing until 4pm which we did as soon as 4pm hit. The queues were ridiculous it took us over 2 hours before we even got to the first room with each room just taking you to another queue. Once finally at the rooms they were good and the view was lovely even though it was pitch black and the we missed the sunset. It doesn’t end there though we then had to queue for hours again to get down with queue after queue. The whole thing took us FIVE hours in total and that wasn’t even spending long in the rooms. I wish we hadn’t spent more on the sunset time slot and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone else to be honest. The thing that really concerned me is that god forbit there was even an emergency then no one in that building would get out. I was fully prepared to walk down 97 stairs just to get out of there and would have if I could have. Went to the top of the rock and no queuing at all and was far better organised and we were in and out in an hour so I would recommend going there instead

Amazing views and loved the balloons.

By Aj |

Excellent from start to finish.views are amazing totally worth the waiting in queues.
I went in evening and skies were clear so views were brilliantly clear.
Lots to see so enjoy.

By Kristy W |

Felt very secure and well organized to handle so many people. Did not feel rushed to get through experiences. The views were amazing. The staff was exceptional.

Great views of the city with a twist!

By Katy |

One word WOW - very different experience from all the other viewing platforms across the city! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely Amazing

By Jo L |

This was the best experience we’ve had in New York, we booked it at 5pm and even though the queue was long it was well organised.
Everywhere was super clean, although some windows could have done with cleaning !
The views were stunning from every angle, just amazing

Disastrous organization. No respect for the chosen and paid slots because no limit of people on these slots.

By JĂŠrĂŠmy T |

We took a ticket for 4pm to watch the sunset, $10 more than a classic ticket. It is indicated to arrive on time. As a precautionary measure, we arrived 15 minutes early, so at 15:45. The staff kept us waiting on the side with all the people having a ticket for 4pm.

At 4pm, if you wait nicely, you will stay in the same place: nothing moves. We had to go to the staff and insist a little bit that they finally tell us to get behind the line of those who had tickets for 3:30 pm.

From there, we waited 1h30, until 17h20, to finally set foot in the elevator. Once upstairs, the sun had just set...

We still took advantage of the view, at night. We wanted to get back down around 6pm, and again a new queue, they made us wait outside, at the top of the tower, with a temperature of -3 °C, felt of -11 °C. Another 1h30 waiting to go down.

A beautiful afternoon wasted waiting from 3:45 to 7:30 pm ...

Disastrous organisation: we can see that only money comes first, it is a shame.

The Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock are much better!

SUMMIT ONE - IS TRULY AMAZING - A PHOTOGRAPHER'S DREAM!

By FZJRAM |

I especially am mentioning the young man named Brian who worked on Monday, 10/27/2025 at the 4 p.m. time frame as we entered.    He was very gracious to my husband and me. This gentleman was exceptional.  All the tour guides we engaged were informative, courteous, helpful & professional as well.    It was my husband's birthday (retired/disabled vet).  He's an avid photography and always loves shooting the NY Skyline.  The Summit's 360 views at night were amazing.  My favorite was the ball drop. The 4:30 p.m. timeframe gave us ample time to enjoy all 3 floors.  The Chrysler building was beautiful, but, we really loved the incredible view of the Empire State building at night and watching the city coming more to life as sunset turned to night.  That was truly an outstanding experience.  Thank you!

Endless queues

By uncertomarcoladisa |

The view is spectacular of course and is probably among the most modern observatories in the city but the line is really endless. We booked at 4pm to enjoy the sunset and arrived half an hour early to be up at 4pm but actually you can't queue up if the booking time doesn't arrive. We arrived on that it was about 17.30 and we were on about three quarters of an hour but when we decided to get off we realized that there was another hour in a row also to get off. Bad experience. I preferred the Edge advice for those who still want to see it at sunset to book for 14.30 - 15.00 obviously for the winter months.

Elevated Experience at Summit

By DollFace73 |

Wonderful tour with Angie. She was a wealth of NYC knowledge. She also explained everything and made sure we got the best photos. Highly recommend the vip tour at Summit!

It was gorgeous, but not worth the weight, especially around the holidays

By Kayla Frost |

My husband and I booked reservations for 530 and did not get into the actual experience until about 6:30. There was a super long line and there is absolutely no consideration for making reservations. Not only that once we had gone through the entire experience it took us another hour, just in line to get down the elevator.
I feel it’s a disservice to people if you’re going to make a reservation in advance to not honor at that time

Impressive view over the city.

By Peter v |

Impressive view over the city. The large windows give a clear view over the city, which is reflected in the mirrors all around. The balloon room makes it fun.

Disappointed

By Ben M |

Even though it was busy the line to go up wasn’t as bad as we expected, about 45 minutes. The different rooms and the views are very good from the inside, but the outside terrace was closed due to snow which was disappointing- they had all day to clear it as it had stopped snowing in the morning.
Also we had paid extra for the sunset time slot but by the time we got up it had almost ended.
Edge and Empire State were better in our opinion and the view just as good if not better, as we could go outside. If you’re doing other view points, don’t bother and save your money/time.

Worth it!

By DeeDra E |

Neat experience and great views of the city. Lots of photos opportunities of iconic spots in NEW York. The bubbles are fun for adults. Kids may get hit so keep them close.

To do, it is very beautiful!

By emmanuelle l |

Organization with cleat, kindness of staff, the place is super clean. It is beautiful. Only downside, we had the first morning slot (8am, already a little just for sunrise) but the time to climb we did not see the sunrise. Too bad.

Great experience with Emmanuel S

By Jessica Werner |

Emmanuel S was awesome! We did a premium tour with him and not only did he take awesome photos but he was super kind and informative! We would definitely recommend taking a tour with Emmanuel! It was worth the extra money to have someone take family photos and being able to skip all the lines! Ask for Emmanuel S!!

Elevated Views: A Memorable Experience at The Summit NYC

By William B |

Visiting The Summit in New York City was truly remarkable. The 91st-floor views, combined with the elegant glass interior, offered an unforgettable experience. Despite the fog, the panoramic views of the city were awe-inspiring. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience New York from above.

Maybe I'm too old for this one

By Sunshine |

There are so many other places you can go to see the city from the roof top for free. A big money grab if you ask me. Also none of the cameras were working when I got to them so all of my pictures were the same one picture from the beginning. Not some place I would suggest to someone or go again. Nothing exciting besides photo ops. In my opinion

Angie.. Best Tour Guide

By Krystle P |

Angie is the best VIP tour guide! We loved this experience and she was phenomenal! Summit One is a great tour with lots of photo opportunities.

Great experience

By leigh from leigh |

Great experience, do not wear a coat or take bags with you as there are no lockers. Definitely recommend for family and all adults

Amazing view

By Jose David N |

Angie was very attentive and worth paying Premium. You can't miss a visit to New York. And at night it's top. Seeing the whole city is brutal

Unique experience

By Ricardo Bem |

It is undoubtedly an attraction to enter any itinerary of those who visit NYC. I went at 8am, and there was already a pretty big queue, but still there was room for everyone to take pictures!

Amazing

By Olivia |

Wow wow wow! We found our visit absolutely brilliant. We booked for evening slot 8.30pm and found it so magical- the whole build up as you enter, the lifts the corridor and the surprise when you open those lift doors. It’s unreal. The room of silver balloons was a wonderful playful experience. A must do. The views were unreal.

Magic

By CĂŠcile D |

Absolutely incredible! We went there in the morning, first thing (less crowded than at sunset) and we caught plenty of eyes.

Creative prospects...

By Diana |

Worth a visit! After marveling at the view from all sorts of skyscrapers, the Summit was a small highlight through the creative installations.
Make sure to schedule some time for check-in!

Beautiful view, 1 hour que time with unprofessional staff and service

By lou h |

The view is absolutely amazing however we left extremely disappointed. We paid extra for the sunset times and had to wait an hour in a queue to start the experience. There was no information pre warning of the length of wait times. When I had expressed my disappointment to one of the staff he said it’s just the process and proceeded to let 12 people in front of us to get in the lift to merely prove a point. This behaviour was unprofessional and extremely immature. After waiting so long we were not in the most happiest of moods when finally getting to the top and felt the promotion of 3 rooms was not quite true. There really only was one room and the difference was one had balloons in it and one didn’t. If I was someone reading this just allow extra time to que or go to the Edge or other viewing points!

A definitely an add on activity for your NY trip

By Anna G |

Went in the morning and it was beautiful. It’s close to other activities near by. The place was super clean and definitely an amazing spot for pics

Great time

By Benaqua K |

My family and I always want to visit the Summit, and on Saturday 11/1 was perfect time to visit we were celebrating my friend birthday. We all had a great time. Even though I have fear of heights. I definitely want to visit the Summit.

Best 360 views of the New York Skyline !

By Mark L |

We really enjoyed our Summit One visit. The security lines were quick and we were on the the top in just a few minutes in the rapid, non stop, elevator ride.

There are three floors you'll visit. All three floors have floor to ceiling windows with full 360 degree views of the city on each floor. In addition, there are other features per floor that include a balloon room for all, mirrored flooring, a "cloud" wall and "walk-out" floors you actually walk "out" of the building and can look down to the street.
In addition, there is food and drinks on the final floor and a gift / picture shop on your way out. It was my favorite NYC observation site I've experienced all my visits to the City.

Confusion

By Francesca T |

Nice experience. Unfortunately, after hours of searching the website to make the entrance ticket, we found only one ticket for our available days in NY ☹️

Summit Experience

By angela0809 |

It was one of the novelties found compared to our previous trip to NYC and so we bought tickets with some curiosity that was only partially repaid. Some experience deserves (the floors with the mirrors), others (like the room with the silver balls) much less. It's only worth it if you've already experienced the rest.

Horrendous Experience

By Seaside785071 |

Absolute worst experience of my time in NYC. Queues were horrendous ,waiting to go up initially was 2 hours and to leave was another hour . The frustration was evident amongst all people . Way too many people allowed up , not enough lifts working to handle.anywhere near the numbers . Never again !!

Original and playful

By CLAUDINE D |

Very original visit where the senses are awake and 360° outdoor observatory. Walking in different rooms: be careful, we can't go back, so take your time to enjoy the view, the balloon room... The 360° view is great at sunset ( ticket a little more expensive but it's nice ) , in the open air . Possibility to drink (see different types of tickets).
Children (but adults too) will love the balloon room!!!
O will give you overshoes to not damage the floor and think about sunglasses!!
Shop with nice souvenirs , a little expensive , maybe , but clean place and good quality .

Amazing!!!

By Toby C |

We recently visited the Summit and changed our original booking from normal admission tickets to the Premium experience and it was without doubt worth the extra cost. We had a tour guide called Annie who was amazing, staying with us throughout our tour but also giving us space when we wanted it, she also had a surprise for our daughter who was celebrating her 18th birthday. She is a credit to the company. We absolutely loved everything about our time spent here. One of the biggest bonuses of the premium experience is the fact that you skip every single queue and the queues were huge when we visited (mid afternoon so we could see the change from daylight to nighttime). The views from the top speak for themselves. 100% recommend the Summit and 100% recommend the premium tickets, there were only 10 of us in our group, if you are lucky you might get Annie as your tour guide too.

AVOID if you don’t like 4hour queues

By Joanne B |

Awful experience from start to finish. First of all the time on your ticket it’s NOT entry time it’s the time you can “join a queue”. There are MAAAANY queues. Just when you get to the end of one you join another. I eventually got in 19.30 (my booked time was 6pm) waited for an elevator then got into a jam packed room could barely move. Views were amazing but after queuing for so long we couldn’t wait to get out then lo and behold. ANOTHER 40 minute queue to leave. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in NEW YORK and would not recommend. It’s clear to see that they’re more bothered about overselling tickets to make profit than customer experience, satisfaction and enjoyment. AVOID AVOID AVOID

NYC's Top Lookout 🫰🏼

By christian omar b |

It is a very father lookout point, it has spectacular views all over the city, the thematic photo spots in every snowfall that you go through are terrific, that makes it even more pleasant, I would definitely return to Summit on my next visit to NYC 🗽 🏙️ to relive this experience 🤩

Angie is an Angel.

By Laura M |

Angie was a complete angel!! She got a chair for my bad back. The tour was a 10 out of 10. I’m so thankful for Angie. Thank you so much.

Good guide

By Carlos G |

I would give you a 5, the good guide , excellent guide and very clear in your explanations...........................................................................................

Very nice experience

By Amandine O |

The experience is very pleasant, the view is beautiful. On the other hand, a surcharge is applied for sunset, we were there for the 7pm slot (for a sunset scheduled for 7:30pm); unfortunately there is so much queue that when we arrived at the top it was already dark.

Beautiful

By DipuKV |

Given the availability of options for rooftop views of The Big Apple, One Vanderbilt adds an option with beautiful views from all corners / angles. Lovely for clicks, views and selfies.

Summit One Vanderbilt is worth the time effort and money!

By daryljudydc |

Breath taking! Spend the money for the private …speed pass. Worth every penny. You will see the most beautiful views of New York and New Jersey!

Best money spent

By Madonna S |

This absolutely one of the things to do in NYC. Even with clouds covering most of the scenery it was amazing. Emmanuel S was the BEST tour guide. Go the Premier route to skip lines and to get a free drink!! Best money we have spent since we have been in the city.

Great adventure but beware the queues

By rich b |

It’s a shame about the queues. 10.00 booking and 40 minutes later we were in the lift for the first level. The actual experience is great once you’re in, however, the queues to get back down are poor as well

Organized in a really bad way .. too many people, few elevators and staff who skip the line at will

By Francesca D |

Without words .. money really badly spent .. too crowded, rude staff, very long waiting times to take advantage of 30 seconds of attraction ..

Lousy everything.

By Lautaro C |

45 minutes to get in, 45 minutes to get out. They rush you everywhere. Super disorganized. It's not cheap for all that. Better away are the One World, Empire State, Top of the Rock, etc. I do not recommend this attraction at all.

False advertising rude staff

By AntonioMacaronio3101 |

I paid extra for the chance to see a NY sunset. Turned up on time only for staff to rudely shout at customers.Got in an hour after booked time and missed sunset.

No refund offered !! Once in a lifetime opportunity missed for me.

DONT BOOK DONT BOOK DONT BOOK!!

Terrible busy experience

By Laura manny |

Awful experience. Extremely busy, we spent 1hr 40mins waiting to get up there and back down. It was so busy and felt so over sold. We had to go up in a service elevator which wasn’t part of the experience we paid for and after completing feedback they have said this is normal which I think is ridiculous. Even staff members were thanking people for there patience. I wouldn’t recommend at all, much better experience else where as you couldn’t even get into some of the areas like the silver balls and near the full windows.

Great, but..

By Reinaldo Putra |

Such an amazing feeling looking at NYC skyline through this iconic building. The experience was well-thought of, but the queue to go up and down were simply too long. We spent about 60 minutes to queue going up and another 60 minutes to queue going down, though we have had a reservations already. Great thing that we did not miss the sunset.

VIP Tour 10/10

By Excursion53702260438 |

VIP just Emmanuel S was excellent. We got tons of great photos and everything was perfect. He helped clear the best photo areas and got great angles with every shot. Highly recommend the VIP tour experience. 10/10

Great Views.Great Experience.

By Vanessa |

We booked this the day before and managed to get tickets, but I would suggest you book further in advance to get the time that you want.
People were queuing to buy tickets on the day, but the only tickets left were late evening or VIP tickets.
We paid around $70 for the experience, plus the Summit Ascent which takes you up another 12 floors outside in a glass lift (not for the faint hearted!)
On entry, you go through security, this took around 30 minutes for us and you can not join the queue until your allotted time (don't turn up early, you will be turned away).
You enter a room which gives you the history of the building, then you take a lift to the top where you enter a series of rooms with different experiences. It's very impressive and the views are amazing.
There is a cafe up top, an outdoor Churros Bar and facilities, so you can sit and enjoy the views.
We went through the rooms and then took the Summit Ascent lift up to the 93rd floor which was quite a height! We also saw the window cleaners and got a wave!
There was only us two in the lift so it was a great experience.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. Erin on the Ascent was lovely and took pictures for us.
I've been to a couple of the other buildings for the view, but I think this was the best for us.
Definitely worth a visit.

An unforgettable experience

By zack |

Extra moment, with lots of different experiences with lots of emotions. Rooms with mirrors and top balloons. And finish with a cocktail on the roof top: indispensable!

Dazzling Heights at Summit One Vanderbilt

By David |

Summit One Vanderbilt was the third high-rise we explored in New York, chosen for its truly unique atmosphere. Inside, be prepared—the mirrored floors and walls make it dazzlingly bright, so sunglasses and sturdy footwear are a smart choice.

The experience was fantastic, though we’d recommend visiting during quieter hours to fully enjoy it without the crowds, especially in the playful balloon room. It’s a paradise for photography lovers and anyone chasing standout Instagram shots or videos. If you’re looking for something different from the usual observation decks, Summit One Vanderbilt delivers a one-of-a-kind adventure.

A nightmare visit.

By Alfie |

We visited on our first evening in NYC - 8th December with a 9pm slot. We were unable to queue until 9pm and the queue was over two hours long so we didn't access any of the viewing floors until gone 11pm. The experience itself was good but definitely overrated in comparison to Top of the Rock which offered far superior views.

We then had to queue another hour to go down in the escalator to leave, what?! Staff had no idea of any fire precautions and it really didn't feel safe if the worse was to happen.

Overbooked, overcrowded, terrible!

A must do experience!!

By Quest669222 |

Great experience, busy, late with running times but worth it…
It’s well organised and at times mesmerising with what you experience; well worth the cost/queue time!

Amazing views with long, long waiting times

By Beverley B |

Amazing views from the 91st - 93rd floor, really stunning. I'm scared of heights but still appreciated them. The art installations were okay, too. However, be warned... We arrived at 4.45pm and waited to get into the queue to get in. We then had to get into another queue to get our bags checked and our photos taken, before joining another long queue to get into the lift to the summit. No joke, we actually queued for considerably longer than we spent on the experience. Our prebooked tickets were for 5pm, we got to the summit at 5.30pm and were out by 6pm. Toilet facilities (why do they call them restrooms - there's no time, space or place to rest!) are on Grand Central Station and - guess what - the queues for the ladies snaked right through the station on both sides. So yes, it was an incredible view but maybe we should have just Googled it... It was a Saturday in December so maybe it's not so busy at other times. Highlight of the experience for me was meeting the security dog, Houston, on the door.

Too crowded

By Roberta |

Wonderful place! But too crowded! Booked months ago for sunset and we could barely see it from how many people there were. The problem is that those who book early stay inside (paying much less of course) and then there is the crowd! You should make a ticket in time! 1 hour x everything and no more! It's called fairness, simply (they check what time one booked though)
It is still to be seen because it is a unique show

Best Observation Deck Experience in NYC

By Christine A |

We’ve done other NYC observation decks, and this one is easily the best. Everything was organized, smooth, and actually fun from start to finish. The immersive rooms were incredible, and the staff taken photos came out so good we ended up buying them. Every staff member we interacted with was professional, kind, and on top of things. We’ll definitely be back with friends and family.

Magic...

By LOULOU10Troyes |

Must-see
The sunset is a plus worth it
Attention there are several rooms but you cannot return to rooms if you wish. C is one way
If you forget your sunglasses, they lend them

10/10 would do again :)
You got such a good view of the city
Imani was the best and made my experience in new York so much better :D

The best high rise building experience in New York!

By Emma S |

The best high rise experience we have done on our trip for our honeymoon! Everything was brilliant, each room gave you something different. We stood on the glass bottom looking down which was amazing. We went for sunset so we witnessed New York in the daylight and night = breathtaking!
We would definitely recommend to anyone! The drink in the bar at the top was perfect! Thank you!

Disappointing

By Lars |

Firstly, if you want to avoid a long queue at the start of the experience, let them know you don’t want your photograph taken. They give you a paper wristband and you go in a long queue for photos they try to sell you at the end. We said we didn’t want professional photos and skipped past quite quickly.
The views are incredible, that goes without saying but it was very crowded for sunset. We’d been warned that some selfish people park themselves on the floor by the windows from light until it gets dark but were surprised at how difficult it was to be able to get close to the window to enjoy the view.
Another issue was photographers hogging an entire corner of the mirrored room to take photos of people they hoped to sell pictures to! It ruined the experience for us sadly.

Wonderful! Will visit again

By IslandBerry |

This was such a wonderful experience! The views! There is a line but it moves quickly! 100% suggest buying tickets online. I would visit again!

Views amazing, queues huge

By Samantha B |

Amazing views of Manhattan and beyond. Wall to wall glass, great visual experience.

We arrived 30 mins before our time as allowed and it took us nearly an hour to get through the queues, seemed overcrowded and disorganized.

Staff opened staff life to let us down as queue was huge to leave.

Glad we did it but would not recommend with kids - too busy. We did 6pm so maybe quieter in the daytime.

Once we got in did whole experience in about 40 mins. You can stay in rooms as long as you want but it was so busy staff were moving people on.

December visit to NYC One Vanderbilt

By Anne A |

We visited a few days before Christmas. The VIP experience was well worth it. We avoided lines and our amazing tour guide. Angie was our personal photographer all along the way. We ended up in a café with spectacular views for a bite and drink. A truly unforgettable experience can’t wait to do this at sunset.

Unique experience

By Kirsten G |

Overall, unique experience. I didn’t like the long wait to get in even with tickets. The photo options weren’t well explained. The bathrooms were clearly marked. The cafe wasn’t bad, price yes, but the mocktails were quality.

Fun experience

By Jayne B |

This was a fun experience the line was long, when you get through one, there's are another 3 , it took 40 minutes and that was at 9pm on a Thursday night. If you dont mind waiting it is well worth it

Great viewing platform

By charlene d |

Great view from up there, but you started quickly. Include long Waiting time. Recommended...
Better than the view from Rockefeller Center

More than a show

By lag-free |

You start by covering the soles of your shoes, then quite a bit of waiting for the elevator in the pitch dark, but when you get out you are literally pierced and drunk from the light and mirrors on the floor and ceiling. Great 360° daytime views with glass, then you pass a room invaded by light silver balloons (I didn't understand them), you go up a level with other views always protected and finally you get to the Third party level outdoors. Not to be missed.

Book it. You must experience this

By Panagiotis K |

Beautiful place. Mirrored floors made it look magic. We went night time and the NY looked amazing from up there. Totally must visit. Book also your drink and photos

Great Experience Fantastic Staff

By Anna |

We visited One Vanderbilt on 14th October, and it was absolutely brilliant! The views, the interactive experience, and the amazing photo opportunities make it unforgettable. A huge shout-out to Angel M from the security team for helping my family — we hadn’t pre-planned the trip, and my daughter was wearing a skirt, which wasn’t ideal. He handled the delicate situation with such grace and discretion, and the two girls who gave her shorts to wear were amazing. We can’t thank them enough!

Best deck in the city

By Pioneer06590810582 |

All of the staff were super accomodating and welcoming to our non verbal autistic daughter. Best views, excellent quality food and drinks at the top for reasonable prices, superb staff!

This is the deck you want to visit!

They over sell the timeslots and can’t deal with the queues which makes for the worst experience ever.

By Jordan N |

Avoid this at all cost! The time you spend waiting to get in and get out is not worth the time you spend up there!

We had a 6pm slot which had strict instructions not to be late. So me and my partner arrived at 5:45pm but as it was carnage was told to come back at 6pm so we went outside and cam back at 6pm at that point we just got told to join the current queue which was there and it was in the way of a set of stairs which went to a subway station so there was people queuing and trying to go about their evening everywhere. They then had someone who works there go around the queue to hand out wrist bands so we stopped this person to ask if he knew the rough wait time for where we are in the queue and he was very kind and honest and said you’re looking at an hour and a half wait from here. Bear in mind we booked the 6pm. So we said we’re not waiting that long so went to the box office desk to get our money back. At the box office desk we got told we cannot have our money back because we booked it on get your guide the only thing they could do is put ahead in the queue and the wait should only be 20 minutes from where they put us so went agreed as it was either that or lose our money. That queue took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the lift to go up which i cannot imagine that the wait time was if we stayed in the line originally. We then finally got put into a lift and taken up to the summit which by this point we were so fed up we just wanted it to be over and done with so we spend around 20-30 minutes up looking at the views and took a few photos and then we thought let’s go down now to go do o to er stuff we had planned for the evening. As we made our way to the lifts to get down there was ANOTHER queue which was an hour long again. They are overselling tickets which we got told by one of their staff members which they knew was an issue in the summer but didn’t solve it and now it’s just taken it to another level of ridiculousness.

Perfect mix of art and city views

By Hunter Davis |

The crowd was a little more, and the tickets seemed a little more expensive. The experience of coming here was amazing - the combination of art and design with the panoramic view of New York set it apart from other observation decks. The sky-high rooms are absolutely Instagram-worthy, and the atmosphere is perfect for both families and couples. The staff were very helpful and handled everything very well. I want to be with my friends again.

Fun experience with a fabulous guide

Maybe a little expensive

A must do experience whilst in New York

By Marwoos |

Absolutely amazing experience, we opted for a sunset ticket and it did not disappoint! Stunning views and a fantastic NYC experience, I am terrified of heights but made it round ok, and the cocktails at the top were an added bonus! Loved it

Amazing experience with the wonderful Imani! She made sure each of us in our group had plenty of time and enjoyed every stop. Can't wait to come back!

Breathtaking Views Worth the Wait: The Summit Experience

By Jamie |

The Summit is one of those experiences that really does live up to the hype at least once you finally make it inside. The views are ridiculous. Like standing there with your mouth open ridiculous. You get this full, cinematic sweep of the city. glass towers catching the light, the river snaking off into the haze, tiny yellow cabs moving like toy cars far below. It’s hard not to feel a little awestruck.

Inside, it’s all mirrors and reflections almost trippy, in a good way. Every surface seems designed to make you stop and take in just how unreal it all looks. The whole place feels polished and modern, almost like you’re inside the future version of New York. And the sunset view? Completely worth timing your visit for.

That said, the queuing can test your patience. There’s a line for security, a line for the elevator, a line to get to the next area basically, a line for everything. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but it does chip away at that sense of effortless magic. You’ll want to factor in extra time, and maybe a bit of mental stamina.

Still, once you’re up there, it’s hard to stay annoyed. The Summit delivers on spectacle and scale in a way very few attractions do. It’s part art installation, part observation deck, and part “I can’t believe this view is real. If you can tolerate the waiting, the payoff is absolutely worth it.

Refracted City, Engineered Awe

By Claudio P |

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is less a traditional observation deck than a stacked sensory machine: at 335 meters up, it combines sheer 360‑degree views of Manhattan with Kenzo Digital’s mirrored “Air” environments that turn the skyline into an endless, disorienting reflection field. As an architect, it reads as the spectacle apex of KPF’s tapered super‑tall—an interior of glass balconies, reflective chambers, and immersive light-sound staging that treats the city itself as content—both undeniably exhilarating and unabashedly built around photo‑ops and orchestrated awe.

Once in a lifetime

By Elsie C |

Great experience but definitely not for someone with vertigo or fear of heights
Definitely worth doing once in a lifetime

A spectacular view, but an organization to review

By kiki41Blois |

Wow effect guaranteed! We visited the Summit at night, with perfectly clear skies, and the view is simply spectacular. Mirrors and height offer an impressive experience, arguably one of the most beautiful views in New York.

On the other hand, the experience is somewhat tarnished by the organization and attitude of the staff. Unlike the other places we visited, the welcome was not very pleasant: we are constantly pressed, we are asked to put ourselves in pairs, to go along the walls... The atmosphere is quite stressful.
My daughter, who is dizzy, was even forced to climb onto the glass platform for a photo that is then offered for sale, which was very unpleasant for her.

In addition, despite having dated tickets with a specific time slot, we had to wait in line for over an hour before actually getting to the view.

👉 In summary: an exceptional panorama and an incredible visual experience, but an organization too rigid and inhuman that spoils the moment a little.

Summit One Vanderbuilt NY

By Barretos4 |

Amazing experience - visual and sensory. We were in a family and we took great advantage of 3 floors with different visual and sensory experiences. The 360 views of NY are sensational and worth every $ invested. Tip: Do not carry food, do not jump high, arrive 15 minutes earlier, do not need to wear dark glasses as they are provided.

Summit Premium Experience

By gabriela o |

We had an amazing experience with the Summit Premium Experience. Our guide, Angie, was extremely attentive and made the visit even more special. Choosing the premium option was absolutely worth it — we didn’t have to wait in any lines, and we even enjoyed a complimentary drink at the end of the experience.

We loved it and highly recommend it!

Best NYC observation deck!

We did a bunch of observation platforms in NYC, but this was by far the best experience! Emmanuel S was our tour guide for the premium experience and he was fantastic.

Beautiful views

Acceptable fee, you have time to explore the room , with a nice atmosphere, beautiful views and nice experience. Important when you scan the face on the reception and then enter on the second floor to the room of sky. See the sky because your face appear there and they don tell you.

Dont go to summitt 1 vanderbuilt in NYC

By Michael H |

One of the worst experinese in all my travels
Waited in line for 2.5 hours to get up to the elevators.
Less than 1 hour for the experince.
Another 2 hours in line to take elevator down.
Nothing is worth being in line from 6 to 11:30.

Horrible.

By LEPROUST M |

CATASTROPHIC, it is truly shameful!
We booked for an entrance at 4pm, crossed the gate at 5:20pm and arrived in the first room at 5:55pm. For entry at 4pm we paid 62$/pers because sunset, conclusion we saw the city at night which is 50$/pers normally!! We were clearly fooled 😡 really a financial scam.
If they are not able to accommodate so many people, they do not take as many reservations.
If the wait had been long to go up, why not but it was also long to get out! Fortunately we came across a very nice Mr. Security, a big thank you to this one.

3h in the Summit One Vanderbilt including 2h30 in the corridors....
I was happy to go, it was a hell of a place.

SUMMIT, so far one of the best experience!

Completely AMAZING!!! Loved it!
You feel almost touching the sky and you see New York with a upmost better view. Really worth the cost!

Premium saved us a few hours.

By Sandra J |

Purchased de premium experience and it was worth skipping all long lines, and our tour guide Alyssa was great showing us around and taking pictures.
When we arrived the lines were long; and being on a weekend; the line to get in looked like at least an hour wait, (and there are other lines for other rooms and we skipped them all with her).
We finished all in one hour and stayed in the cafe looking at the view and getting a drink.
Definitely a better experience than long lines.
The views are breathtaking and no NYC building compares.

Do not go during peak times of the year.

By Derrick |

Do not go during peak times and days. It will take you 2 hours to actually get on the elevator to go up and another 1 hour in line just to come back down. They are overselling tickets and packing people into every crevice of their space to maximize profits.

Beautiful views.

Beautiful night views of the city. We were able to take our time taking photos and looking at the skyline. Show up no more than 15 minutes before your slotted time so you aren't standing around waiting. Highly recommend!

Best Conservatory in NYC

Great fun. If you are going to do one observatory in NYC do this one. It is so much more than just taking pictures of a great view.

Too may people and long queues

By Issy B |

My daughter saw this on instagram and wanted to come so I treated her. Our time was 3pm and we started to join the queue at 2.50. There was a wait of about 40 mins before we eventually got into the elevator to the top. Once there the views and different sections you can go to did make the experience different to other sky scrapers however the real issue and 💯 a Safety issue was the lack of monitoring the people in the space at one time. It became quite busy at sunset and when leaving the queue wrapped round the gift shop almost two times causing massive confusion. We were told they had to slow the lifts down due to them being worked so hard. After waiting in line for about 1hr 20 mins and due to the severe over crowding we were the first of a group that was ushered out of what seamed like a staff or commercial use lift.

When we eventually got out about 7pm the queue or get in was awful and looked like it would take hours.

There must be more strict regulations over the amount of people allowed up at one time. Time slots will have to be put In place and people will have to have a dedicated time when they have to leave as it’s just to slack.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME AND FRUSTRATION ON SUMMIT ONE!!!!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! SO MANY LINES THAT LASTED HOURS!!!!! This is such an obvious money grab by some grossly greedy people. Lines were terrible, staff was rude, I spent 4 times longer in lines to enter and exit the experience than I did enjoying it. Shame on the people who run this game on family's and couples trying to have an experience in NYC. This is the biggest hustle in New York City!!! Don't waste your money or time. I booked the sunset experience at a premium cost and arrived ON-TIME for my tour, but sadly ended up in line for 2-1/2 hours and missed the sunset and was told by exceptionally rude staff "NO REFUNDS"!!!! Whomever the SCAM ARTISTS pushing this piece of trash experience on the pubic are, should be ashamed for ripping all these people off. THIS EXPERIENCE IS A SCAM, DO NOT GO!!!!

Amazing!!!

Emanuel Stanley was amazing. He helped us get thru the perfect experience. Would recommend him any day. He helped click a bunch of pictures too

Land of Lines - 1 hour wait to Leave the place!

By Travelin_the_w0rld |

Don’t do it. Go to another one that is better managed. Plenty of places now to get views of the city.
Our arrival slot was 5:30 - stood in line for 1 hour just to ride elevator up.
The view is cool but nothing I haven’t seen at Empire State or any of the other view experiences.
$10 for a bottle of water because you are captive and they know it. Ask for free tap water at the bar.
The worst part was when we were ready to leave, it was 1 hour wait in line for the elevators down!! I’m not sure how this isn’t a fire marshall hazard that def needs reporting. We were literally stuck there no way out and nothing we could do about it.
Old people were so tired standing in line in pain, no where to sit. Poor kids and babies crying because they’ve just been standing in lines 2 hours.
They are overselling tickets obviously.
You should leave an experience feeling happy, we left feet tired, frustrated and all in our group agree the experience is not at ALL worth it.

This was an awesome experience! The immersive exhibit was truly more than I could have imagined. I have already told family and friends about this. It’s a must see when in NYC

Amazing tour and experience! Loved every bit of it! Great places to take pictures. Appreciated the tour guide (Emmanuel S.) taking pictures.

Cool experience and great for photos. Long wait to get inside so wear comfortable shoes. Loved the view at night.

Summit One Vanderbilt - a highlight of NYC's night sky!

By Hiasl-Tours |

Summit One Vanderbilt is an observation deck in the heart of NYC.
It goes over 3 floors with differently animated rooms and a great view in all directions, mostly through glass panes, but also a small section under the open sky.
Highly recommended!

Imani is the friendliest stew tour I've ever met. All the time I take care that we were well, explained everything about the place, respectful, diligent, professional. Anyway if I had to employ someone in my company, I would definitely be Imani ❤️
