I was sightseeing the Oregon coast from Astoria to Tillamook. I stopped in Seaside to eat and check out the beach. This place is full of tourists!

A very long and wide beach. The fourth of July fireworks was absolutely wonderful with about 20,000 people camped out on the sand.

In an average 70F and 10mph wind and the humidity is almost zero, it’s the most comfortable beach by just lying on its sand... Those times are just a few times in the year but it’s great!!!

The beach is wide, long, and flat. Easy access and plenty of room for everyone. There are many beachfront hotels from which to choose. There are several arcades for family entertainment, when kids want a beach alternative.

This beach is one of the best beaches in Oregon, There is plenty of sand for everyone and if you just want to stroll, skate, etc there is a paved walkway along the seashore.

Up above, to the east of the beach, is a paved walkway, perhaps more apropos if the weather is stormy or if you are interested in jogging or in looking at the structures along the way, most notably a peek inside the aquarium. If a more casual pace suits your fancy, the beach lies just steps away.
A long, wide, flat beach stretches a long ways, offering plenty of room for many people to enjoy it simultaneously. It's an excellent kite-flying area.

The Promenade promises many wonderful entrances to this decidedly average beach. it was not filthy so that was great, considering all the tourists who seem to not really care about anything. The beach has some swings which are nice. Overall, in the off-season it is a beach worth visiting, but the promenade and seaside town are where to spend most your time.

Seaside is my favorite Oregon beach town. Had to laugh when I overheard a fellow beach-goer complain about, "having to walk half a mile to get to the water," where that's my favorite part- miles of sand!

Beautiful beach full of visitors every time we visit. Great place to enjoy a good book or take a long walk. Enjoy the birds and all the excitement happening all around.

This is a great beach to walk. There is a also a cement boulevard that enables you to still see the beach without walking in the sand, if you have any difficulty walking.

I have spent several visits here in Seaside. The beach is very enjoyable. Find a nice hotel and relax. I did.

If you want to enjoy the beach and the ocean make sure you check the weather forecast. We came here and thought it will be nice but we were disappointed that it was cold that day to be out on the beach. Make sure bring your wind breaker jackets. We will go back here again on hot summer weather for sure.

Love this place. Make sure and walk the promenade, visit the outlets, and relax. We've been coming here since kids and enjoy the family feel.

What a fun town with lots of shops and places to eat with a great promenade, lookout, beach, and great vibes. Cannon Beach is fun but this is amazing! First of many visits with friends

Great Beach to spread out and enjoy your self! Check the tide table for great beach combing! Not crowded! This is one of our favorite beaches for sure!

Crowded and dirty, but a nice a great shallow beach for kids. The bathrooms were not cleaned throughout the day and they get heavy use. They were dirty and overcrowded.

One of the dirtiest and ugliest beaches we have ever seen. There was so much trash and a disturbing number of dead birds. We would never come back to this terrible beach and really tacky city. There were also no decent restaurants and everything felt dirty. There were many people smoking marijuana and drinking beer on the beach. Felt unsafe. There are many other beaches that are so much better than this one. Avoid!!

We went to see the Sand Castle “competition but found it way overrated. There were less than 10 exhibitors and darn near half were local businesses advertising themselves! The big plastic “tip” jugs strapped to the Promenade railing were kind of cheesy! So we did the “tourist” tour of town. Was shocked to find large segment of stores were just closed, or closing very early for weekend. At 9pm Saturday 9/10, there was a 20-30 minute wait at the one ice cream stand still open. Many stores were actually closing shortly after7, with no information posted of their hours. Some store actually had signs posted saying therapy could not find people to work so they closed!! Town was not overly crowded, but the town’s workers just seemed tired of the tourists! Not because I didn’t want to, but ended up spending less than 20% of our trip budget compared to last 3 annual trips. Bottom line, our 5YO enjoyed the hotel pool, but everyone else was packed and ready to go home WAY before Checkout time !

Seaside beach was my favorite. It wasn’t as crowded as Cannon Beach and the people on the beach were younger. I found lots of shells and it even had some sand dollars (hard to find one that isn’t broken) but fun to look.

This was my first glimpse of the PNW coast and I was all smiles! It was absolutely gorgeous and not that busy this time of year.

This is the local public beach in seaside, which is 20 miles north of cannon beach
Note* much cheaper to stay here as well and you can still visit cannon beach
The beach is not as nice as cannon beach but still a nice beach, there is a walking boardwalk behind where there is an aquarium to visit. I came here twice since seaside was my base for visiting cannon beach and astoria
Visit definitely if you're staying in seaside, not much else in the town.

i had a great time walking up and down the beach at seaside! On one of the colder days walking back I saw 2 elk staring at me and all the other humans. It was so pretty and it wasn't terribly crazy busy even in this busy season. :) I also loved all the campfires going at night...it felt so peaceful!

So glad the weatherman was wrong. It was cloudy but lots of sun very warm and beautiful. Lots of people had amazing kites out to view. A must see when in Oregon.

The seaside beach is a wonderful place to visit with family and pets. It’s a long wide beach with plenty of area for children and pets to run around and enjoy themselves. A lot of times there is what we call “the bubble man“. He has a bucket with two sticks and a long string and makes Large long bubbles. Everyone enjoys to see the multicolor in the bubbles. In the evening, there’s a gentleman that has a couple of grown airplanes that light up with multiple colors. Always fun to watch. The city will host volleyball tournaments. And it’s a wonderful place to watch. Amazing sunsets.

Our trip to Seaside was very enjoyable. We had wonderful weather & met a lot of very nice people. We went shopping and had a good time. We had many adventures on our week long vacation.

The views are awesome and the beach is clean. Not warm enough to get our feet wet, but we had a good time.

With miles of widespread soft sandy beaches, you can find your private spot among hundreds of other beach goers. The beach is clean, and great for tossing a football, or a frisbee during the day, or having a beach fire at night. Booze is allowed under 14 ounces. I highly recommend for families or even a romantic evening.

Beautiful long beach. Nice to walk in the shallow water all along the shoreline. Cold water but pleasant in July. Dog friendly. Many restaurants just a short distance away.

We visited in May so the weather was cooler and overcast. It was quite pleasant and the best part is that the beach is not crowded so there was plenty of space to walk. We were able to walk down both the promenade and the sand; if you keep to the hard-packed (wet) sand it is easier than the sand. The shops were open but not crowded, as were the restaurants. Nice trip!

We did not get to spend much time on the beach, even though we booked a beachside motel, due to steady rain. However, we were able to sneak down once between showers. The beach is long and wide. Fires are allowed, and there is a folf course. On a sunny day it would likely be a very nice place to spend some time.

The Seaside Beach extends for an uninterupted two miles adjacent the town of Seaside and is broad and sandy the whole length. Excellent for families. There are public restrooms at the circular turnaround (extends toward the beach with flags) as well as at the public parking lots both off of 1rst Street.

Easy town to love, so many shops all walking distance from most hotels, many great places to visit, a must stop!

We liked the beach area very much but overall found the Seaside area a bit busy for our tastes. We liked Cannon Beach area better. Not sorry we went to Seaside but would be more likely to revisit Cannon Beach.

Shops, restaurants, and long stretches of beach walking make this a great place to spend a day or several days.

Seaside’s beach is enormous, beautiful, and spectacular. There is a brisk wind coming off the water most of the time, so bring a jacket!

We found the main road going into and out of Seaside is only one lane, so you’re going to need a lot of patience dealing with heavy traffic. Although once you get into the outer area of town it’s very easy to maneuver and find your way around to the beach and hotels. The entrance to Seaside is not asthetically pleasant and the marijuana shops were disappointing to see, especially on a family vacation. The town has a lot of choices for dining. The gift shops were fantastic, and there is an outlet mall. As for the beach we found it was not as clean as the others in the immediate area. The town is also not as clean as the neighboring towns. The hotels were disappointing in cleanliness especially for the prices they were asking. If you go 5 miles down the coast to Cannon Beach it is a lot more family friendly and a better value for your money.

The sand along the ocean is great for a long walk. The scenery is beautiful and of course the sound of ocean is so comforting.

If you like beaches, promenades and historical points of interest, you will find it here as well as lots of restaurants, shops and antique stores to browse.

Seaside nearly always has walkable sand, but if it doesn't there is still the paved walkway, "The Prom"< that runs parallel to the shore.

We stayed at Cannon Beach but decided to drive up to Sea Side for dinner one night and check it out. After dinner we walked along the boardwalk and unexpectedly saw a group of elk just chilling! It was a unique and unexpected experience!
For the town, we found it to be larger than Cannon Beach with more restaurant options. A lot more traffic...
Our short experience here was good. The beach looked beautiful. Recommend checking it out.

We walked many miles along the hard packed sand on the beach. We watched the waves come crashing in. There is also a promenade that has washrooms at the Turnabout and at the north end, quite convenient.

We truly enjoyed our first trip to the Oregon coast! We enjoyed strolling on the beach and the beautiful weather we enjoyed while there! It was truly beautiful and we would love to go back there!

Enjoyable sandy beach, obviously less crowded on weekdays and there is close-by parking at such times. Has public restroom facilities as you enter the beach.

We stayed 2 nights in Seaside and got a fabulous sunny day and an amazing Caribbean type sunset. Beach was busy with everyone on the same mission. Enjoy...absorb...live.
I can't wait to return.

We have been visiting Seaside for about 35 years and the beach is always great, be it high or low tide.
It offers a calming effect on the soul (corny, but true.)
With a decent camera, one can snap off photos of great sunsets and the Tillimook Rock Lighthouse.

This beach is lovely white sand. There are swing sets, kites and sea gulls and lots of walkers. Take off your shoes and wiggle your toes.

Get out early before the birds to get sand dollars! Nice, quiet beach!! (We were on the north side of the beach)

Clean, family oriented, wholesome and fit for all. This was where Lewis and Clark first Saw the Pacific Ocean. It gets no better than this.
A place for all and you can't beat the price. The beach is free and lovely. It is better than being at home.

This was our first trip to the Oregon Coast, and this was the first beach that we saw with such gorgeous sand and miles of beach. We loved how people could have a fire right on the beach, set up their chairs and spend hours there.

We've visited Seaside in April off season for one day. It served just for logging one night during our 8 days Pacific northwest tour.
The beach is a classic ocean one - very long and very wide. It was nice to walk by the sea, but for sure I wouldn't come here for vacation.

The beach is wide and beautiful and there is a long promenade to walk alongside the beach if you don't want to walk on the sand. Easy to reach off the coastal highway.
Maybe this one is a little to close to Portland for us. Driving up the coast and visiting many of the little coastal towns, sadly Seaside was our least favorite. The hotels look run down, streets were dirty (lots of trash) and many cheap touristy stores. Sidewalks were crowded with large groups of noisy people, some of whom appeared to be intoxicated in the early afternoon on a Saturday. I wouldn't have felt altogether comfortable bringing my family into the town, although there is plenty of room to spread out on the beach. The setting is very beautiful, but we prefer some of the towns that are more "off the beaten path" and better maintained.

I was used to the Washington beaches that you can drive on. This one was very busy but it was nice that there weren't any vehicles on the beach.

I love the peaceful feeling the ocean creates. My pitch pipe recently confirmed that the serene surf is in the key of C which is perfect for Seaside. Whether in the beach grass or walking close to the ebbing & flowing waters, I have felt inspired to write more than one composition; the last two being. "Salty Breeze" & "East Meets West."

The sand dollars are never-ending. Clamming used to be very good but , due to the recent die-off, it's going to be a while before it's built back up. It's a great beach to walk along and parts of it change as you go, from rocky to a river outlet. Pretty safe for kids too.

I love going to this beach and have been going there for many years and will continue to go and now I am taking my granddaughters!

Get out there, several times per day, high and low tide. Kids love it. Find a whole sand dollar. Listen to the ocean roar.

This is one of the broadest beaches in Oregon. The beach is very flat. It is adjacent to the downtown of Seaside. It is long in both directions from town. It is easy to access and easy to walk on. You can see some beautiful sunsets on this beach.

The sand is firm and great for walking on without that sinking/slipping feeling. You can stroll the beach without issue unless of course there is a volleyball tournament going on. You can purchase a stack of wood on the walkway by the Aquarium and sit around a fire on the beach, any time, but the evening is best. There are public washrooms and showers under the turn-a-round, which comes in handy after walking in the ocean.

Beatiful beach with lots of people but not overcrowded at all. Best of both worlds. Easy to access and very clean.

Seaside, Cannon Beach etc are among the most beautiful coastlines I have ever visited. The beaches are extensive, with beautiful sand. Of course, being the Pacific, the ocean is a lil cold, but it didn't seem to faze my nieces who had a great time playing in the waves! If you get a chance, go down to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach at low tide. The tidal pools are amazing, and there are naturalists on site to provide information about all the things you see. I will definitely be heading down there again.

One of my all time favorite scenic beaches to bring my daughter. So close to so many activities and we have created so many timeless memories here. We come often as possible and we will be back very soon. Love it!

This beach is great for walking along or just watching the ocean.
It has a great boardwalk also! Great views!

Our dog loved the beach, it was clean, the weather was a little breezy but there were periods of sun, and the promenade was very easy to walk;

Take a walk along the strand down to city for good food and fun shopping. Also see the aquarium and the exhibits.

Yes, a beach, but just that. There are so many other more beautiful beaches on the wonderful Oregon coast.

I really enjoyed this beach although it gets quite crowded. It was possible to surf from this beach although not always the best. It was no crowded for surfing.

About 5 miles of flat sand beach from the Necanicum estuary to the Cove. Watch the surfers in the Cove, look for our resident herd of elk sometimes on the beach or crossing the river. Sea Lions and whale can be spotted outside the surfline. Great dog beach, but please clean up after your pooch!!

We loved our walks on the beach. It is beautiful any time of day. We were often out early in the morning and found that was a good time to gather shells. We went out mid day and found lots of friendly company for ourselves and our dog. We walked at sunset and enjoyed the pink and purple clouds casting a magical glow on everything.

It's so great some places still allow a traditional beach campfire. Seaside Beach is such a place; and, without unnecessary patrols. Have a family beach fire party!

Love this town, and the main strip. Beautiful mural along main strip on Ace Hardware is our favorite, as well as Nonni's Italian Bistro. Must walk along the main street with shops, restaurants and the carosel. Perfect town for kids! The beach is spread out at the end of the strip with restrooms and foot showers. Everything you need including a large parking lot right in the middle of it all.

Give yourself lots of time to walk the beach from one end to the other. Very fine sand, and we found that barefoot was best. On the way back, we used the promenade, so it was quicker to walk back to our starting point. When the wind blows, it's neat to see the sand "dance" over the ripply sand.

Great beach to walk on and watch the super large kites that people were flying. I was cool and windy, but just layer up and enjoyed it.

I don't know how many people swim in the ocean in Oregon since as a former southern California gal, the water seems pretty cold to me, but there is no denying the wonderful and wide, soft sand beaches of Oregon. Seaside is the most impressive beach I've seen.

Pretty nice beach, not super crowded, but the water up north here is pretty cold ... compared to SoCal beaches! Easy walk from the hotel

I enjoyed sitting on the benches near the Lewis and Clark statue and just watching people on the beach.

I was amazed at how many people were on the beach. I've never been to a Seaside beach, always go to Oceanside or Pacific City, so it surprised me and turned me off.

The beach is sandy with a rocky section. In the morning you can gather lots of whole sand dollars and see many crabs. The cove has a lot of riptides so not safe for swimming, but it was fun to watch all the surfers.

Not a great time of the year to visit. However for us, any visit to the beach is great. Enjoyed walks on the "Boardwalk", the beach and the views.

There is quite a wide grassy area before getting to the very wide beach. It's accessible from a wide sidewalk running the full length, known as The Promenade. There's limited street parking but a parking garage is next to the beach on Avenue A. Get interesting sunset photos with Tillamook Head or Lewis and Clark statues in the view. For more than the beach, pick up a city map and to-do booklet at the Visitors Center at Broadway and Roosevelt. They're available in the lobby, which is open after hours.

Took off the shoes, got the feet wet. Watched the fishermen at the south end. Saw some kites. And a lot of families having a great time. What's not to like!

Nice big beach that even when it's crowded .. It's great to walk down to the cove in the morning when the beach is not very busy but also enjoyable when there is a crowd on the beach. Grand kids love playing in the sand and watching the kites.

When we were here they were having a kite flying contest with music. It was fun to watch.
We also saw many sand dollars washed up ashore. No agates though. Lincoln City is a good place to go for those.
Right near the turnaround is a playground of sorts. They have swings that you can ride on.
You are allowed to have a fire on the beach as long as you make a fire pit and stay away from the grasses and Promenade.
It really is a lovely beach and great for a walk or run anytime during the day.

I loved walking on the beach at sunset. The seagulls were very entertaining. The sunset was gorgeous. It was also nice to see the dogs being able to have fun on the beach also. At night it was neat to see couples and families enjoying a bonfire on the beach. It was a very clean beach. One of my favorite places.

Gorgeous sandy beach and lots of room to walk or just hang out on the sand. Easy access from almost anywhere in downtown Seaside and visible from the historic promenade. Don't miss it!

This is one of the nicest beaches I have seen in the US outside of the Gulf Coast. The tide goes waaaay out, the beach is long and the sand is soft. Life guards on duty most of the time. Enjoy the bubble man while you are there. Easy access and, for those with disabilities, you can pick up beach wheelchairs.

So many great towns and beaches along 101 - Seaside is a top stop for at least 2 nights! Cute town, welcoming eateries and shops - just love it. The beach and the Prom are one-of-a-kind for walks, play, even bike riding on the beach. Lots to do in Seaside!(My secret special place is Devil's Elbow near Heceta Head Lighthouse but that's only for picknicking and watching the waves.)

This beach is very popular and can get crowded but all you have to do is walk a couple blocks and enjoy more space. Nice, level, sandy beaches, mountain and lighthouse view, short walk to food and fun on Broadway and downtown businesses.

The kids loved the swings here. I loved how large the beach is. It's not so great for beach combing, but it's great for walking, listening to the ocean, and of course playing in the sand. It's easy to get to and there are restrooms, hotels and restaurants close by. No trip would be complete without a walk along the promenade.

Expansive beach area means lots of sand for play. It was excessively winds which made the waves roll far up the beach.

Extends the length of the walkway and is kept nice and clean. Lots of humans but not too many since it was just off season.

WE went there and walked on the boardwalk as well as the beach. It was pleasant and there is a lot to see. Having been to beaches on the East coast and the gulf, this was a new experience. When the tide is out, there is a huge stretch of beach to walk. Having as many rock formations was new to me.

The ocean air & sounds allow me to enter the peaceful zone. Every morning I would walk the length of the prom and I enjoyed reading about historical points of time.

Found 3 sand dollars! Wonderful and clean beach easy on the feet. Not crowded even during tourist season.

We walked the beach for about 2 miles and were constantly amazed at the amount of sand dollars we saw.

We stayed on the beach at Seaside for several days in late September. The beach is very wide, flat and smooth sand. Great place to people, bird and dog watch (the dogs love the beach!). With the 1.5 promenade on the beach, its an easy place to get your morning or afternoon walk in with incredible views.

Very inclusive place it has a working class, all American vibe to the town, yet all folks are cleanly welcome. The beach and promenade or boardwalk is particularly wonderful. The scenery is incredible the beach is at least 2 miles long and 1/3 mile wide. Nice soft sand...perfect for any activity.

Amazingly beautiful location, great sand and the sunsets will give memories that last a lifetime. Very cool how flat the beach is which makes one of a kind pictures

We walked north on the boardwalk to the end from the turn -around. Since we usually head south, it was an interesting walk with a return thru the residential area with views of many older homes.
It's hard to separate the beach from the town as they merge together at the turn-around and along the boardwalk.
The beach contains a large swing set for kids. There are public bathrooms. At night you can see small bonfires.
Considering the number of people, the beach is clean. The turnaround is cleaned early each morning and the garbage removed. There are often entertainers on the boardwalk. Today, at lunch, we were serenaded by a sax player.

Beautiful WIDE beach with big waves. Not great for swimming as even in August it's only in the 60s. But the beach is so wide and long it afforded plenty of room for people to spread out and keep their distance. It did get pretty crowded close to the turnaround with lots of people entering and leaving, a lot without masks on.

Surfing, Clamming, Crabbing, Kites, Bicycles and more. Lodging is oceanfront. Mo's chowder is at the famous Turn A Round (the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail).
Restaurants and shopping up and down Broadway and Bumper cars. Plus the Times Theatre Brew Pub with live sports screens (a 50 ft Screen! Go Hawks, Beavs and Ducks!

Iago, my service dog, love making sand angles in the sand on this beach!!! I do not know if dogs are allow on the beach, but in CA if it's not a National Park pets usually allowed. The is a lot of beach when the tide is down. Lots of free parking.

This is always our first stop on our trip to the coast. Always choose to stay an extra day before moving down the coast

Very spacious beach. Unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather, but there was still plenty of space to walk around. There was no rubbish or anything like that lying around.

So sad to see such a fun place to visit go so downhill. The town has so many vacant busnises and those that are open are so dirty its just not a place I would visit again.
During the hid to coast race the town is very busy, it is being used by the town as a fund raising event, they hand out parking tickets like its a contest.
When I paid mine, they told me if I don't like it I don't have to come back. I won't, I'll spend my money and my week vacation at another beach.
I just hope the revenue officer who wrote all those tickets at least won a new brick for his fund raising effort. (Or maybe all the overtime they paid him was good enough)

We visited just after Independence Day so there were still people setting off fireworks - on the beach - each night. However, it quieted down in time to give everyone a chance to sleep. Beach upkeep was good, meaning that trash was picked up early each morning. There were firepits, a swing set, and well-marked lifesaving stations in the event of an emergency and people enjoyed the beach rain or shine (mostly rain).

The entire town of Seaside is going down hill, nothing gets maintained. Street lights are flickering, trash on the beach, hom. eless people sleeping on the sidewalks, but the sunset was great!
Do yourself a favor and skip this one, there are much better beach towns on highway 101.

Beautiful. The beach is more crowded as expected compared to Cannon Beach. Its clean but there were many pieces of debris all over the place from the fire pits. You can find so many hotels, shops, restaurant, arcades on the other side of the beach. Its hard to find a parking space so you need get there early.

Wide expansive sand beach, unusual rock formations in the surf make it an attractive way point when touring. As mentioned though, saw too many dogs on the beach, both leashed and running free!! Some were doing their business (both ends) with owners who totally disregarded them leaving their tell tale signs behind for beach goers to unfortunately discover! There ought to be a law and if there is one, enforce it!!!

It is big and I believe if you in seaside you should arrange your sleeping quarters st the Promenade ( along the beach) yo enjoy it best. I have to comeback here on the sunny and worm day.

Seaside beach is clean and peaceful. Beautiful ocean view, however, be aware that this is not a swimming beach, strong riptides and cool temperatures require a sweatshirt all year round.

Very large beach devoid of a large crowd but n November. Lots if activities and beach fun shops abound here especially wArm weather.
They are also where Lewis and Clarke finished their journey of the Louisiana purchase. A statue at the promenade shows that

Nice and beach, a few walkers and bikers but that's about it. We didn't get great views due to the smoke alert in the area.

Coming from the east coast, this beach is quite different. The rock formations in the water, the mountains so close, but the people are still there. Very pretty and wide open beaches.
We were here on Mother's day and it was very crowded. But Monday, it was back to the sleepy beach town.
I have never seen so many dogs out and about in such a public place.

As beaches go, Seaside's beach is right up there. It's very accessible, it's absolutely huge, and it's got a "Promenade" that borders it so that you can walk for a mile and see the beach without getting sand in your shoes! I think it's kind of a Do-It-Yourself beach because it's up to you to make the most of it. I'm not familiar with all the rules regarding vehicles, campfires, dogs, and nude sunbathing, but this beach is so wide and easy to get to that I imagine you could probably do almost anything you wanted, as long as it was, well, legal.

Any day of the year it can be 60 and sunny or 40 and filled w/wind and rain... there is plenty to do around town or just park at one of the many ocean view spots and have a car picnic with a hot bowl of chowder from Duggers or the open in 2019 Mo's at the Shilo Ocean Front!

Found shells at low tide. Great beach from making sand castles or flying kites. Easy access at many different points.

Seaside offers a good amount of options, from a stroll on the Beach, a bite to eat at one of many yum restaurants or simply just grabbing a movie at your local choice of two theaters!

We were visiting and came out to the beach area at low tide in the yard evening. You had a chance to see lots of people digging clams and collecting shells from the few that wash up. Peaceful beach in the winter.

We very much enjoyed our day of rest at the beach after six days of driving and hiking. We really needed a rest. And what better place to rest than at a beach. Unlike other beaches we rarely saw anyone in the water. So we went down to test it. It's ice water! It's colder than Lake Superior. So no swimming for us.

A great walking area along the prom. Watch the beach enjoy the views. Just walk for exercise. Visit the salt workd.

Lots of pathways to the beach. You can walk a long ways. There are swing sets on the beach. Loved that you can have bonfires anywhere on the beach, but didn't really like all the burnt wood pieces scattered throughout the sand. I imagine it's much worse in the summer.

Our hotel was close to walk each day. Nice shallow tides. Interesting to see people having bonfires on the beach that glowed in the evening getting darker and families sitting together by the warm fires. Many families with happy kids running was delightful to see and those with happy tail wagging dogs enjoying the walk with a great viewl

We were able to visit the tide pools at low tide and walk the beach. We saw many starfish, sea anemones and live sand dollars.

There's more to the beach at Seaside than just in front of the turnaround. It goes north and south and is a delightful, easy-to-walk distance. Easy to get your feet wet - or not! And walking in the dunes is a different experience, especially at the north end. Explore.

We come to the beach several times a year! We always come to Seaside, for the food at Dundee's Bar and grill and also visit Gearhart to drive on the beach!

Seaside Beach is a wide open beach with plenty of room to roam. Lots of restaurants and things to do nearby if you need a break. Nothing with rock formations. Just sand and waves with occasional plant life near the promenade. Great place to enjoy the fun and sun if it's out.

Great beach for walking on early in the morning. Very few people most of the time on the beach no matter the time of day. Great turnaround view especially when the sun sets. Great place to find sand dollars too.

Huge white sandy beaches are a rarity in the NW. Seaside is a beautiful place to enjoy such a lovely sight and get your toes wet.

Such a nice beach. Better than anything you can find in Washington. The sand is the super soft kind that kids will love playing in. The beach is huge with lots of space if you want to social distance. The public bathrooms there were fine and not disgusting. The people we interacted with at the beach were all pretty friendly too. Not a lot of weirdos.

This is a family friendly beach where you can actually have a bonfire! You can walk for miles on this sandy clean beach. Just mark your spot with the numbered markers on the beach as the fog is sometimes as thick as pea soup.
We did not swim as we had our dog with us, but low tide is loads of fun for shelling, crabbing or chasing seagulls.

Its a big open beach and its gorgeous. I loved coming here. It was pretty clean too so i really loved that. I would definitely come back.

As the Fall rains start, the beach takes on refreshed look! Less people and a slower pace. The cooler air and the rains help reduce the lingering smell of the fires and erases the traces of people. This beach has a very long flat plain that goes out far enough for you to test your tolerance for cold water, but keeps you in sight of those tasked with keeping you in sight. Clams (when in season) are available and its always fun to find a stray crab. For walkers, joggers, and explorers, this is probably one of the best beaches you will find. During the right time of year, the whales come close enough to be seen from the hotels and its also hard to beat if you are into storm watching. Some "first ever" event happens every time I visit here. This time it was a young seabird that allows us to visit with it before eventually flying off. We had some raining time, some sunny time, and some windy time and enjoyed each and every minute of all of it. Life's A (Seaside) Beach !

I wish I could live out here ! But, since I can't, I come visit as much as I can. Usually in the spring or winter.

We enjoyed this beach the most out of all of our Oregon Coast beach stops. The sand was soft, clean, and full of sand dollars. The beach was used by people of all ages day and night as many returned to enjoy bonfires in the evening. Seaside Beach is beautiful!

Huge beach that goes on for miles. Room enough for everyone. Next time I will bring wood for an evening bonfire. The one beach that is big enough for all the dogs that are here!

The beach is beautiful. At the periphery of the Prom, it's not very crowded. There are more folks near the turnaround, but still not too bad.

our walk on the beach was the reason for the trip...a clean beach with happy families and swings...plus we loved the cool breezes after record heat at home

We absolutely love this beach, always great fun, very clean. Amazing views. It can get busy during the summer season but it is still wonderful!

Seaside OR is a fun town with a lot of popular tourist activities. I particularly like the shopping and dinning. The beach is fabulous; large, never crowded, clean and beautiful. The promenade provides great walks with gorgeous views, and good multiple accesses to the beach. My family's favorite Seaside beach activity is kite flying.

We spent two nights in late October in a Seaside condo steps from the beach. The promenade outside our window was filled with people out strolling between the rain showers that were developing. That makes the beach area a little different from the rest of the Oregon coast as it is conducive to bike rides, baby strollers and walkers who don't like sand. Then a few steps past that you get the real beach which stretches out for miles. A nice walking beach at low tide, a great kite flying beach, and an overall fun place to visit.

Clamming in the morning, Strolling along the beach during the day, great campfires at night and a fabulous long boardwalk

It was close to 60 degrees and felt like Summer. The beach and promenade were nice and clean, the air smelled fabulous and we found a few agates and whole sand dollars after the tide went out. The sunsets were beautiful!! We also enjoyed a campfire after dark and roasted some marshmallows. We had such a great time!

You can walk forever on this beautiful beach and never feel crowded. The sand is hard enough to walk on comforatbly and its hard to find garbage, rocks, seaweed, logs or even shells that hamper your gait.

With Tillamook Head to the south and a long lighted promenade that is perfect for walking anytime, the beach at Seaside was always calling me. I particularly liked the far ends of the promenade where the dune grass goes halfway to the ocean.

Beautiful beach. The promenade is paved for walking the beach out of the sand. Lots of businesses and activities along the walk.

Seaside Beach a quaint little beach town that feels both welcoming and warm, no matter the time of year you visit.

Swings sets, bon fires, drums, sand dollars, and water so cold it will take your breath away! What more can you ask for?

This beach has everything you want: nice sand, tons of open space, great scenery, crashing waves, and a very, very slow drop-off as you head into the water. It's great for families, kite fliers, couples, and people watchers.

The beach was close to our hotel, so we took a walk down to the water. I would like to visit the beach on a sunny day, but as it was, the wind was VERY strong and cold. All that said, it was a pretty beach.

Took a day trip down to Seaside. The beach was clean. We sat in the less populated section of the beach. Visitors practiced social distancing where we set up. We had beautiful views. We packed a lunch and had a mini-picnic. It was very nice. The mainstreet was busy. There appeared to be lots of activity. We went mid-week and avoided the crowd.
Parking was ample due to where we set-up on the beach. Life guards were present and actively engaged with the crowds. Mixed variety of guests, adults, families, and kids were all present.
It was nice.

I come down to Seaside two times a year, January & June, and always have a wonderful time. The beach is big, beautiful and clean, no matter the weather or time of year. People watching is entertaining...you can even watch surfers down at the south end of the beach.

This is a lovely beach town full of activity for all ages. We love walking every day along the beachfront promenade and the flat expansive beach. The town is full of good restaurants and great shops to explore. The aquarium is quaint. During the summer months there are so many activities at your disposal that you would never get bored. Our last stay was over New Year's and although cold, it was still a lively town. We loved seeing all the bonfires on the beach and fireworks on New Year's Eve from the warmth of our oceanfront balcony! If you need more to do, Cannon Beach is only a few minutes drive south and Astoria is only a few minutes drive north. The Tillamook Creamery is about an hour south where you can enjoy lunch and a delicious ice cream! Great for families, friends or a couple.

We were there mid August and there were a bunch of sand dollars flowing in. They were beautiful and I've never been able to get any on any beach. They were all already deceased. It's a very long beach at low tide so it can be a long walk out to the water.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes. Amazing. This hotel was a plus to Seaside. We were on the top floor with ocean view (and we had great weather) room. Our room was clean, quiet and well stocked. Everything in working order. But, due to Covid I felt that they did their normal cleaning and much more. The staff are quite pleasant, helpful, friendly and professional. They make you feel welcome and glad that you're there. Since it was my birthday, I walked into a room with balloons, streamers a terrific chocolate cake and card. That was quite an unexpected surprise. One more extra step of of being a terrific hotel and staff.

This beach is relatively clean but the town was more run down than Cannon Beach and filled with junk stores. Although the candy store had 170 different kinds of taffy, that was cool. The promenade is a nice walking path that parallels the beach. Worth stopping by but would suggest staying in CB or Astoria instead.

We stayed near the Aquarium and enjoyed long walks up and down this very clean and accessible beach.

If you want the coast but don't want the expense and pretense of Cannon beach especially if you have kids then SeaSide is your place. There is still good food and good coffee especially if you look around and ask around. Quite and sleepy in the offseason for cheap and if you place is on the beach then you get the same rough and tumble winter PNW ocean for half the coast of Cannon Beach.

This is one of my favorite beaches. There is so many to do here for every one in our family. Adults, Kids, and dogs..

The beach was great! Lots of room to spread out. Great sand. Lots of area to walk and play, great location.

It was a beautiful beach. Lots of sand, lots of seagulls, lots of people. Sunset was amazing. I got rained on during our last night there and it was quite the storm but we had fun.

We have been going to Seaside beach since the 1960's. Though the town has grown, the beautiful beach and promenade remain preserving memories from decades past. :You can still swing on the beach and enjoy a stunning sunset...what more is there?

Seaside is a sandy beach, there are a lot people and interesting kites on the beach, and adult size swing sets :)

Be prepared for rain. This is the Pacific Northwest, so rain in the summer, spring, winter or fall is common. No worries, there are plenty of places to visit and things to do no matter rain or shine. The beach is long, wind-swept and beautiful.

Avoid the crowds and go to Seaside in January, February, or October. You can have nearly the whole beach to yourself, walk the promenade without dodging joggers and bicyclists, no waits for meals in restaurants. There's something for everyone in Seaside. Park your car, and you can go everywhere on foot, even the outlet mall just a few blocks from downtown. Shops shut down early in the fall/winter, but that just leaves more time to get lost in the sound of the waves crashing, an watching the beautiful sunsets.

Relaxing and beautiful spot along the Oregon coast. Would love to stay here an entire week next time.

I was here mid-September and it was very easy to find a parking spot right beside the beach. It's a small parking lot and the trail down to the sand begins there. It was a sunny evening, a little windy, and I enjoyed watching the waves crash upon the shore. The best part - dog friendly!

My 9 year old son and I enjoyed body boarding in the day and "midnight crabbing" at night. (Catch and release fun of the crabs washing up in the surf)

This is a very large beach which has more than adequate space for people to move about and play. Don't expect to find any shells along the beach....what appears to be washing up on the beach are broken up crab legs....LOL....who knew??

We stayed in late September; there were still a couple of sand sculptures visible from the competition earlier in the month.

Sometimes only going to the beach will do... on the Pacific will do. Excellent beach, lots of shells and sand dollars. Very clean also.

How exciting to see all the volleyball players on the beach today, had no clue just a nice surprise. So much fun and excitement.

Came here for a couple of days. Both our 5 year old and our 10 month old loved the beach. Its wide and plenty of room for everyone. Seems that there is ample parking around as well. We had a great time and would hope to return again soon.

Even though it was very windy, drizzling, and 43 degrees out we enjoyed exploring the beach. It is very big with a swing set for the kids. Plus lots of area for picnics, dog walking, kids playing football. The birds were fun to watch too.

A nice little beach walk. Watched folks trying to fly kites and building sand castles. Found a sand dollar.

I had a great time with my family while in Seaside. It is very kid friendly and friendly people that run the shops. There is a lot to do and I recommend to take a little vacation down there!

walked over the grasses on the pathways to get to the beach - beautiful sand - great for couples and kids alike. Low tide is a long walk to the water. Alcohol in non-glass is allowed. Lots of smoking of all types was happening.

Great place to bring a picnic from one of the restaurants in the city. The beach borders the city. Plenty of free parking.

Nice beach, promenade, and shopping. We like to get away from crowds and stores, which was what we did - took a long walk. Beach was pretty crowded, and a lot of people around promenade. A lot of families, enjoying restaurants and local. Everywhere felt safe family location, Would recommend if you have a group with varied interests.

Nice beach to spend time and have a relaxed workout. Lots of activities in the town. Lots of small shops to buy stuff from.

Seaside is my favorite place on the Oregon coast! Fun for the entire family and plenty of entertainment for the kids!

We only stayed overnight in Seaside so didn't get time to explore much but the beach is beautiful, miles of golden sand, flat and safe for kids and lots of cafes, shops and amenities nearby.

Flat sandy beach with amazing sunsets, year-round. The visitors are uniformly friendly, and the fire & rescue fantastically helpful. Sure, it's a bit crowded in July - come again in November & March!

This is the nicest, quaintest and friendliest beach and community in Oregon. There is much to do and, of course, the beach is the main attraction. It's very special when the weather is warm and the sun is out, but in the meantime, walking, storm watching and checking out the storms make for great entertainment as well.

What can you say, it's a beach but the sunsets are terrific. Seaside sold it's soul and allowed time share buildings to be built all along their beach, ruining the atmosphere.

I really enjoyed walking along the beach, finding sand dollars and seashells. The water was cold, but not unbearable for short durations. Beach was clean and patrolled. Very popular area, but still very nice.

We come here often for the great beach and great selection of eating places. Some times for the day and some times for a weekend. Tons of great options for lodging and food. If its a summer weekend make sure to have hotel reservations or you might be looking elsewhere.

Seaside has miles of beautiful and wide sandy beaches. We especially liked the beach at the end of "U" Street. Nice parking area along Ocean Vista Drive.

I love this beach, even when it's a blustery day. Sand goes on for miles and we always find a seashell to bring home.

Very nice sandy beach with some great Razor clam beds, the waves are amazing to just watch and relax with the fresh air it is a great place to refuel the soul

Very spacious clean beach
Vehicle free
Not noisy or over crowed
Can run, walk, build sand castles, fly a kite or just sit & meditate
Great sunsets

Just think people live and thrive here. Quaint, friendly, fun and things to do and see that you DON't see other places.

Great place to fly your kites-build sand castles, surf the waves, see some sand artists & street performers,Sea lions aquarium-dog friendly!!

Nice beach but could use some cleanup. Me and my friend stayed here. I liked watching the surfers and the sunset………………..

Our hotel room overlooked the Promenade and the Beach. Clean. Sandy. Hard-pack. Lifeguards. Bathrooms. Scenic. We've been to beaches on both coasts and enjoyed quite a few. This one was top 3 for me!

Very cold, windy day on our visit. We had the beach to ourselves! My little granddaughter loved the swing set to play on.

Loved our time in Seaside. The hotel was perfect! No much more you can add to that. It’s always nice to get to the coast and the location so close to Cannon Beach (just 8 miles up the road) is a bonus :)

Not the best beach. Growing up on the coast Seaside was never my favorite and that hasn't changed. The huge crowds take away from the beauty and there are no tide pools or any cool rock formations to explore. That being said it is still a beautiful beach.

nothing but pure BEAUTY!! the sound of the water hitting the rocks was so peaceful I recorded the sound to help sleep at night. So much different than hearing it from the sand,

If you like beaches then you will like the beach at Seaside. There were hundreds of people of all ages enjoying the beach when we got there.

Stayed 5 nights right downtown on Broadway. Great Hotel with balcony overlooking the main street. Was quite the view watching the tourists walk by. Seaside seems to attract, well lets just say, an interesting, Walmart esque kinda people . It was the first warm weekend after a long winter when we visited so a lot of ppl were out taking advantage of the sun. Can only imagine what its like in July and August.

The thing I notice about beaches of the Oregon Coast, is that you often have entire stretches of beach to yourself. Seaside Beach not so much, it’s usually pretty busy here. That said, it’s still an Oregon coast beach and they are all breathtakingly beautiful :)

Long wide beach with great views. Take Broadway all the way down to the beach. A great place to take photos of Seaside.

Comfort Inn was very comfortable. Norma's restaurant was fine but Doogers was good too. went on thursday night slow time in seaside. Seaside beach easy access. had a great time. Jill at comfort inn was great and nice.

Seaside is like a carnival fun zone with lots of beach food stands and restaurants, arcades, inverted and old time photo ops and even a carousel. White large pristine beach.

Yes it is just a beach and Hug Point down the coast is actually prettier, but this location...close to the city, right on the Edge of hotels, food and Seaside itself...has GREAT memories. Clean, not too crowded (relatively speaking) - we will continue to come back.

fun to go watch the ocean waves and relax, and so much to go enjoy and do, highly recommend going to the beach

I love this beach, the rocky area creates great tide pools, the sandy beach is huge and a great walk, the waves bring out daring surfers and fisherman - our last visit we watched flocks of the best fisherman - the Pelicans and a beautiful Eagle. a great family friendly beach with lots to do, see and smell.

This is a sad place : the main activity seems to be in order smoking , disobeying the surf/rescue signs and doing s’mores on the beach after dark with lots of lighter fluid. Of course leaving all the charcoal and ash for someone else’s kids to step in the next day. Hard hard pass

Clean, safe beach for families. Get out early if you are combing the beach for shells, lots of people on this beach.

Seaside has a tendency to be thought of as a family coast town, and it is. Because of it's proximity to the Portland metro area, it's a quick and fun day trip for families looking for the Oregon beach experience. However, with the 3 mile round trip walk on the Promenade, people watching, puppy petting, toes in the sand beauty that is Seaside, it makes cares disappear temporarily. The sunsets are beautiful and the passerbys friendly. Fresh air, a salty beach breeze and maybe a warm bowl of clam chowder or a frothy yummy coffee to wrap up your introspection... perfect day, perfect place!

I liked the dunes. They had lots of dunes. Wow!
We saw only one driftwood.
There were lots of people on the beach. Some where walking, others were swimming in the ocean and others had fun with their kites.
There was even someone pedaling his bike.
A guard was on duty,
This beach is huge and attractive.
There was one mountain nearby.
Worthwhile to see!

We were so happy that we were able to let our dog run free on this wonderful, clean beach. It was so big that even with a lot of people it did not seem crowded at all.

Go down 12th turn north on franklin, park and take the trail for amazing view, locals call the end of the world.

While I appreciate various beaches along the Oregon Coast, the Seaside Beach has grown on me during the past decade.
The depth from the promenade/sidewalk to the ocean provides acres and acres of sand, set up chairs/cover, volleyball, BEACHCOMBING, photo opportunities of the crashing waves below the sun AND gorgeous SUNSETS, meet other pleasant vacationers, walk your dogs (leash, please!), fly kites, make a camp fire, picnic, build sandcastles, write someone's name in the sand, and much more.
I have found more complete sand dollars and shells on Seaside's Beach than almost anywhere else.
I now have more photos of the waves and sun-kissed clouds at Seaside Beach than anywhere else! Excellent photo opportunities... if you are patient.
I highly recommend that you visit Seaside Beach. So much to do. What are you waiting for!?!?

The kids played daily in the water and built sand castle even in 50 degree weather. Great relaxing place.

We were here in2015 and chose to stay here for all 3 days instead of traveling the coast. Just a beautiful beach with a nice boardwalk to walk or bike. Plus lots of fun shope and wonderful resataurants in the town. Just a wonderful place to visit. Very memrable!!!

This trip was during the slow winter season. The beach was fairly quiet - lovely for long walks and quiet time. Very lovely.

We spent four nights at a waterfront condo (Sand & Sea) with a friend visiting from out of the country. Even though we did have pretty typical rainy January weather, it was still beautiful. We had two rain-free mornings with amazing rainbows. The promenade is so pleasant for walking, even in the rain. Then, of course, the beach itself was wide open and beautiful. We were also pleased to find quite a few shops and restaurants open, at this very non-touristy time of year here.

This beach is very long and wide. It slopes gradually toward the ocean and is shallow for some distance into the water. We were fortunate to have an oceanfront room with balcony that overlooked this vast beach over the Labor Day weekend. Hundreds of beach lovers were enjoying the great weather. Many seemed to stay for the entire day. There were many kites in the air. Be sure to bring a camera, towel, blanket and sun screen. There is a Life Guard Station and it is occupied for much of the summer.

This beach doesn't disappoint, Its all I remember it being when I was a kid. Lots to do and beautiful view

Only thing wrong is there are a lot of motels along the beach. Went two days after a major storm and you could not tell it. The water was glass smooth and tiny waves at the sand, sun was shinning 61 degrees no wind. Unusual day for mid Jan.

Seaside has a great beach, the Prom is fantastic. A walkway up above the beach, stretches from one end of the beach to the other, benches along the way. Quaint stores with great sales. Some very good restaurants!

Like Cannon beach this is a vast beach on the ocean. Great for walking and with swings for kids. A brisk walk breathing in sea air is always invigorating, you can walk a long way here.

We visited in winter so it was cold, rainy and almost deserted - perfect for us to stroll and take out puppy out for her first beach experience. Lots of nearby shops and restaurants, although many seemed closed for the season. Beautiful and picturesque for photos- ocean was a little rough and just gorgeous. Easy walk from promenade to beach, a few places to wash off feet & shoes; doggie waste stations were stocked well.

What can be said? It's a sandy, miles-long, ocean beach that never grows old. No matter what the weather, there is something special about going to the beach. Period.

The beach at Seaside is a long one with the turnaround for cars bisecting it. There are restrooms at the turnaround. You can walk down the beach and then come back by the beach or the prom, which is paved. If you look to the southwest from the northern part of the beach, you can see the old island lighthouse which is 1.2 miles off shore.

Seaside Beach is a Very Popular site/place for tourists, vacationers, day trippers, and just about anyone else! A nice community that takes their home and beach and schools and attractions seriously - they keep most everything clean, updated, and in good shape! Terrific wide sandy beach for sunbathing, picnics, the Cove for Surfing, walking/running, volleyball, wave jumping, etc. Tons of local shops and restaurants and motels for about any interest and price. Good climate and people are friendly.

Whether your just ready for a beach walk, meeting friends, flying a kite or building sanding castles, this is a great beach for it all. Lots of shopping, however parking is a great issue. So easy to see cars that cruising to find a parking spot and that could be the decision maker for some.

Nice long beach for walking and finding sand dollars :-) Lots of access from several spots along the prom.

This is a very nice beach with lots of room. It is clean and bordered by a boardwalk. Also a popular spot for clamming.

Surfers at the point, light winds and low tide. A 'calm' you don't find many places. You begin walking and before you know, you've gone a few miles down the quiet beach. Walk through the tall grass for 'treasures'. Find 'sand dollars' for the kids and then 'dye' them different colors/

We started our Fall trip to Oregon landing in Portland and then driving to Seaside! What marvelous views and Fall color we saw during our 4 days in Seaside. 1st evening we did a fire on the beach and watched the sunset! What breath taking views and it was a clear evening. Didn't start to drizzle until we were walking back from the beach! We saw locals digging for clams too.

We had great weather but it can be cool and windy even in the heat of summer. Dress warmly. You can find sand dollars and other shells while beach coming.

Lots going on from flying kites to sand castle building, from surfing to fishing. The beach at Seaside is very clean and fun. Access is easy from many places. We look forward to going again soon.

One of the best I have visited. Clean. Big and wide. Scenic. The setting is fantastic. Not much driftwood to sit on, it's biggest drawback. Still, a must see!

The beach is flat and long and very beautiful to spend time on! It is possible to run or walk on the boardwalk or the beach and there is a paved trail along the shoreline. It is a great space for children to play and it has small dunes at one end of the beach. The sunsets are the best we have ever seen and September seems to be a good month to visit this area with many people wandering down from hotels to watch the majestic sunsets.

This beach is much bigger than cannon Beach, it is very suitable for dogs. There is a swing on the beach, children will love it.

This beach is great for couples going for long walks or families to play in the surf or sand. Easy to get to from turn around and is near a lot of hotels and rental houses. Bonfires at night are fun to watch.

View was wonderful; just like it showed on the website. Room was clean - no dog smell at all. Loved the heat in the bathroom.

Strolled along the beach by myself this morning and it was snowing.. Waves gently rolling in and out.. wasn't too cold just beautiful and relaxing 😊

too far to walk to the ocean edge with a bad knee. Had a great river view from my hotel. Lots of people playing games, Close to Aquarium which was great.

This is a very large, sandy beach with a great promenade paralleling the ocean. When the wind is up, it's great for flying kites.

I suggest October or May, less crowded and cheaper. Great beach and good restaurants of many cuisines. Factory outlet shopping. Nearby camping parks.

There are sandcastle builders, sandcastle teachers, large bubble entertainers, swing sets, a boardwalk, small aquarium with seals. Great family beach

Yuppies from Portland he ruined this beach. There are cashed up and obnoxious Portlanders everywhere. We did not like it at all, for the views.

We have teens and toddlers and everyone loved the sand, swing sets on the beach and flying kites. We could see the rain rolling in so took cover in a few shops. Then headed out again.

On a recent tour of the West Coast, we had some free time in Seaside Oregon. We were there on a weekday in September, it may be way more busy during other times. We took a fun & relaxing walk on the promenade, from the Lewis & Clark statue at the beach end of Broadway, to its end to the south. We then cut across to the beach, on a trail that appeared to be a wheelchair accessible way to the beach. We then took a leisurely walk up the beach, taking pictures, looking at shells and rocks, watching seagulls and other birds, and wading in the waves that came up on the beach. We spent about two hours overall, then meandered our way back to our hotel, stopping for lunch and shopping along Broadway. Our walk was scenic and enjoyable, and not difficult at all. There are also benches along the promenade if you need to stop and rest. Do take water, sunscreen and such if you need them. The day we went was only partly sunny, and somewhat breezy. It was in September, but was warm enough we didn’t need jackets. If you're not staying overnight, there is parking at each end of the promenade.

Livee her for 25 years, what a blast!!
Our 16 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids love it too!!
Great for Spring Break, Memorial Day, 4th of July.
Warmest time to visit August/September.
Super winter storms too in Dec/Jan.

Nice looking beach but it really needs to be cleaned. We walked about 3 blocks of the beach and it did not get any better.

Beautiful stretch of beach and is centrally located. Beautiful views. You still experience to beauty, and fury of the ocean; yet you can take advantage of what Seaside has to offer. I was able to take my pet and he had a ball. Lots of good old fashioned fun.

Coming down US 101 from Astoria, entering Seaside was a mess. This was on a Thursday afternoon. There was no parking, chaos reigned. My advance is avoid Seaside in August, and may additional months as well; unless you have a place to stay and then can get to the beach early or late in the day. For day trippers forget even getting close to the beach!

I hear this is the place to be come Summer. November early morning I had it to myself.
Quiet gray chill morning solo walk. I enjoyed the misty mood and solitude.
Quit the contrast from the Season I'm told!?

Great Oregon beach town with many motels right on the ocean. Great sunsets and many activities in town for the family.

This is one of my favorite beaches. Pacific Northwest beaches can be fairly rugged, but Seaside has a ton of sand and a very large area so you have plenty of space even where there are a lot of visitors. Have also seen some nice waves. Definitely worth a visit.

What a great beach in a great seaside town. We spent a week here and saw about everything there is to see and yet every day we'd go back to the beach and marvel.

We found so many LARGE orange crabs- it was SO cool to see. Pretty beach! Kids had fun running along the shore (water is freezing!) and playing in the sand.

Did you know you can drive on this beach? Not crowded and clean and gorgeous views! Lots of sand dollars!

The Seaside beach is HUGE ... goes for a long, long way. Great to just meander along or run. Your choice.

This beach was awesome. We loved buying wood from the local corner store and having a fire on the beach!

Love walking this long beach. It is very accessible and always beautiful. Easy to park in town and walk to the beach. Or just drive around the circle if you are unable to walk. Beautiful sunset. Can sit along the promenade to watch.

Beach was clean when we visited. Fun place to hangout. Lots of fun places to eat around the beach. Would recommend.

I would have given it a 4 but that a long walk it goes all the way to other town there it a pretty long beach

Incredibly memorable experience! We found sand dollars and got soaked by the rain. This is one of the best beaches to spend time on. Love this beach!

Nice quiet beach in November. Enjoyed the swings on the beach and the promenade. Unfortunately the public restrooms were still under construction.

The beach is large and easy access. You can rent bikes to ride on the promenade! This beach has swing sets, volleyball nets too

The beach is clean and beautiful with the Promenade being an added bonus. There are shops and restaurants close, but lots of room to roam and walk the beach. The scenery is gorgeous. It was not at all crowded and the weather was spectacular, sunny with a gentle breeze.

Seaside prides its beach and it shows. The beach is clean and has multiple fire rings for those evening fires.

While staying in Cannon Beach we went to Seaside specifically to see the Lewis&Clark Salt Cairns - where they boiled sea water to make salt for the Corps of Discovery's journey back to St. Louis in 1806. While we were there we enjoyed strolling the promenade along the shore for a couple of miles. Then we decided to walk the main street of town to see the shops and restaurants. Lots of very touristy stores selling low quality goods. It is a very crowded one way street. We parked the car several blocks away and were glad we didn't get caught up in that traffic! However we did try the Twisted Fish restaurant and found it to be deliciously good! We were also able to take advantage of the Safeway supermarket to do some food shopping because the small groceries in Cannon Beach were very expensive.

This is one of the best locations for that "long walk on the beach" everyone talks about. Though there can be a large crowd around the center (directly out from the Seaside Turnaround) the rest of the beach is typically open and enjoyable. Bear in mind, this is the Oregon Coast, so the water is fairly cold for most of the year, though sometimes in mid-July and August it's fairly warm. If you're not There's plenty of space to set up for a fun family afternoon, take a jog with a dog, or just casually stroll. If you are interested in collecting shells, there's not a huge variety, but if you time the tides correctly, there are plenty of sand dollar and clam varieties for everyone to find that perfect addition to their seashell stash. The rocky end of the beach also has a veritable village of hermit crabs! If you're all about photos, this place is perfect for that panoramic shot...glorious sunsets, and ethereal sunrises.

By far one of our favorite beaches on the Oregon Coast so far. Bathrooms, showers, swings, volleyball nets. It is set up to be a family place.

This is an expansive, wide beach, very family friendly but large enough to find a quiet spot for yourself. The prom from end to end makes it easy to traverse for anyone.

Very relaxing to walk the prom, see and hear the ocean and just relax and enjoy the town which comes right up to its western border

Great expansive views of ocean and for finding sand dollars. A night time walk in the dark and fog was especially interesting when there was nothing but sounds for the senses.

This beach is always clean. Only see an occasional cigarette butt . Nice sunsets as well. The boardwalk is very nice and fun to walk.

Everyday the beach was a surprise. Fog, sun, absolute beautiful sunsets, low tide, high tide, fish, seals

We love coming here, you can have bonfires at night and the sand is clean and the beach is beautiful

This beach has always been clean and groomed when we have gone. It does get very crowded on sunny days.

This is one of our favorite places to visit in the world. The beach is an awesome place for long walks, or sitting and relaxing for hours.

Too bad it's turned into a circus atmosphere. This used to be a great little family getaway kind of beach town. Now it looks more like a Venice Beach wanna be. Won't be back.

We spent Christmas at the beach this year and we had an amazing time. Although it rained everyday we left our 40 below temperatures and forged through the rain. We searched for treasures after the high tide of the days and got in some skim boarding! This was my second trip to Seaside and it never disappoints. A great location for swimming, bonfires, and any other beach activities!

Nice beach as the beach is very wide and the sand is soft to walk on. They offer swing sets on the beach for the kids this is a very family oriented beach Public restrooms are under the turnaround The town offers a few nice places to eat but lots of closed shops as we see Seaside as a dying town. Not our cup or tea. We enjoy Cannon beach much better

We stayed at a hotel near Seaside Beach for a few days and I definitely recommend getting a hotel as close to the beach as you can. We came by in May last year and it was good. There was plenty of people around but crowded enough to be bumping elbows. Definitely something for everyone here. Arcades, restaurants, sand sculptures, plenty of places to get your tan going (we had on and off overcast at the time), Seaside Aquarium, and more. If you're not going out of town, I recommend enjoying the atmosphere and walk around anywhere and everywhere.

My family arrived at the beach and enjoyed a long walk along the promenade and beach. Road our bikes through the area as well and loved the salt air and ocean breeze. Nearby are all the fun shops of Seaside - a carnival atmosphere and great destination.

The great thing is this beach is not rocky! After traveling in Europe that was a treat. You could actually sit on the beach and be comfortable.

Seaside is a wonderful place. Walk the beach, visit the shops and enjoy some good food. A lot more shops in one small area than in Lincoln City.

Love Seaside!! The Prom, Broadway, The shops!! The places to eat!! And you do not have to drive on HWY 101 when you want to go somewhere. It is all within walking distance. The beach is easy access. The PROM is a beautiful walk <3

The staff was pleasant and helpful with no waiting for a table. The seafood was delicious. People of all ages were dining.there.

This beach has pretty much everything and not crowded due to size. The kids loved the water and the pelicans would skim the water next to them. There is also a nice boardwalk and the town is full of life, lots to do.

Very clean beach, for a vacation or to get away, have fun in the sun, walking, relaxing, swimming🏊, kite flying, suffering🏄, ,enjoying the sunset on the beach, star glazing 🌠🌌

Everything from restaurants, rides and even the beach closed down. There was a huge rip tide and along the Jersey Shore three people drowned unusual but unlucky for us and you were not allowed to swim.

The beach in Seaside is exceptional for strolling along the edge of the Pacific Ocean. The deep beach extends the length of the town. Look for shore birds such as the Sandpiper, Sanderling, Greater Yellowlegs, Western Gull, Surf Scoter, and Canada Goose. Sand Dollars and a few other delicate shells are frequently spotted in the surf.
Seaside is a vacation town but there is room for everyone to enjoy the beach in a leisurely manner.
This area is dog friendly and you can expect to allow your dog space to run as long as you have it under voice control.

My family and I decided to spend the last day of Winter exploring since we are new to the PNW. It was 77 degrees and sunny, such a perfect day. The beach was extremely clean and not crowded at all. It was easy to get to from the main road. The views were amazing.

Felt like it was a run down version of cannon beach. Didn’t seem to have a vibe of its own. Felt a bit disjointed and out of date and nit in a charming way.

Our day at the beach was cold, windy and raining, but what do you expect for December, at least there wasn't any crowds.

I attended the Seaside, Oregon Sandfest on 9/15/24. It had a $5- admission fee to tour the dozen sand sculptures…..and was worth every penny! You are given a plastic chop and asked to use it to vote for your favorite sand sculpture. My family had so much fun walking around trying to decide which art piece was worthy of their vote . Most of the artists were there, fine tuning their creations. My favorite was the Pirate Skeleton. Very Disney-ish! There was also a pirate chest with a resident octopus, dolphins, an Indian Palace, one on mental illness, etc. I would definitely go back! Seaside is a delight at any time of the year, but this made it even more fun!

We rented a VRBO on the beach in Seaside the end of May 2024. We enjoyed our balcony view of the Pacific Ocean. Took long walks on the beach each day. Walked to Sea Star Gelato, amazing ice cream! Watch the sunset!

Weekend trip to the Oregon coast included a stop in Seaside Oregon. We literally just went to the beach and absolutely loved it. On our way there we saw a bunch of small restaurants. Our visit to the beach off of avenue u. Small parking lot but we were lucky to drive I as someone was leaving. Took a nice long nap, hearing the ocean waves, under the warm sun, away from the windy day at other stops. Very clean and safe. Not so many people which makes me really like it.
Traveling down the coast.
Room (accessible) was very clean and well set up. The walk in shower made it easy to clean up from the days travel.
