Can’t wait to come back!

By Kemis3 |

My family loves amusement parks, me, not so much. We went on a summer trip to visit a couple. Started in OKC at Six Flags Frontier City, and that was a major disappointment. Rides were closed, we left there without my wife riding one roller coaster because they were all closed.

We had the best time at SDC! Every ride was open and my family had a blast. We were there from when the park opened to when it closed. There was nice fireworks show at the end of the night. The park wasn’t too crowded so they didn’t have to wait for many rides, but this was a visit during a week day.

The company that runs this park and the sister theme park, Dollywood, does an excellent job. The rides are open, the parks are clean, the people are friendly. We really had the best time. My daughter can’t wait to come back!

Blessed!

Spoken 4 Gospel Group is the Best. It is very obvious every song comes from their hearts. We are so glad they will be in a theater. Looking forward to hearing them again in November.

Great Park

By OhioArubaLovers |

We enjoyed the park and Marvel Cave, but it was a very long day in the heat for two 65 year-olds. The shows were fun, but waiting in line for everything was not. It worth the price, but we won't do it again.

Silver Dollar City

By Camden S |

It was amazing! The lines went fast except for time traveler. It is mostly roller coasters and they go pretty fast. Expect to have some of the rides shut down throughout the day. Some of them did open back up though.

Wholesome entertainment for the entire family

By Tommiejo |

Lots of good memories from many years spent here…a wonderful place that respects our country by saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the National Anthem before park opening…wholesome place that doesn’t allow offensive language or clothing…love it here!

Loved it . Ride rides , has hot chocolate. And an awesome light display .

By Brittany P |

During December there’s so many lights and super cool Christmas parade . Very up close , my bonus daughter got lots of high fives and fist bumps from the people in the parade . Very crowed . But expected .

BAH HUMBUG!

By shoebaka |

We went, we saw, and we won't be back! Very disappointing, Christmas! Way over priced to walk around aimlessly to only wait in longs lines and accomplish very little for the day. Lights were pretty and it is family friendly, but other then that my best recommendation is to stay away and spend your money else where. Shame on you Silver Dollar City! Oh yeah, your map and app are both useless for first timers.

Fabulous Park!

By Ringo |

This place was so much fun! They offer a cave tour included with admission that last about an hour, lots and lots of shopping. Christmas lights are breathtaking. The parade was incredibly adorable. Rides are terrific! So many fun shows to catch during the day. I will bring a ice chest with lunches next time the food is not that great. Burgers are frozen and tate weird. Cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate are the best we ever tried! Can't wait to go back!!!

The best theme park ever it was the best experience in my life but Disney is my second favorite theme park it was the b

For us it was not crowded and we had a short wait time for us and we had a good time and the food was good and we had the best time

GREAT AMUSEMENT PARK! A MUST-VISIT WHILE IN BRANSON!

By Chris Craddock |

This was the best amusement park I've ever been to, and I've been to Disney World, Disneyland and Six Flags in Texas. The cleanliness of the park, the accessibility to rides and the variety of attractions (from family shows to the most thrilling rides) was amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fun place!

By Sheli D |

We went on a Monday night, got rained out, came back on a Wednesday morning with the rain check. We are used to Disney World in Fl and were happy with SDC. My husband and older kids loved the coasters, stating they were the best they'd been on. There was hardly no wait times for any of the rides! Longest we waited was about 25 min. We couldn't believe it being used to Disney World. The hills were not as bad as we expected and everyone made it around the park just fine. It's confusing to get around, even with the map and the app, but all the employees were friendly and would get us going in the right direction. People online complained about high prices, but honestly, this is way cheaper than Disney so we were happy with prices of food and extras. We will come back on our next visit!

Riverside BBQ is not good

By MetroWest52 |

Riverside BBQ is not good. $30 for a 2 meat platter we shared plus one coke. The pulled pork not only had no flavor, it was dry. Tasted like shredded boiled chicken. The smoked sausage was more like store bought kielbasa. The brussel sprouts were steamed to death and the baked beans were straight out of a can. Side portions were small. Entree portion was ok but who wants a healthy portion of tasteless food? No indoor seating. Picked over condiments. Adding insult to injury, the door to the outside eating area is one way so you can't get back in for a soda refill. Amusement park restaurants usually are not known for value or quality and Riverside BBQ was no exception.

Fun

By Jax20152015 |

Our family visited for the day. The weather was a little hot and parking was good and the trolley was fast. There were lots of entertainment options and places to cool off with AC or water sprinkling. I took a refillable SDC cup from years before and soda/lemonade was $2 for a refill. To refill a Yeti with water was free. We rode all the roller coasters but had to wait on Time Traveler for maintenance but it was worth it. We celebrated a birthday and got free and discounted items. There are lots of shopping and rides to do. The park hours are extended and they have an after 5pm deal. The only thing we didn’t do that we wanted was the cave. We didn’t want to wait for the tour. SDC allows outside food and drinks, which is wonderful. We ate lunch in the park. We used the map a lot. We would visit again.

Silver Dollar CIty False Advertisement Of FIRE IN THE HOLE RIDE

By Rudy B |

Our family from Nebraska and Florida visited Silver Dollar City in July and with tickets along with food spent well over $1,000.00. The issue with the park is the equipment break downs especially the new Fire In The Hole Ride. It wasn't working either of our visits, which was horrible for the families who traveled from Nebraska and Florida to ride this ride. The Herschend Family should stop advertising the new Fire In The Hole Ride until they fix the unsafe and reliability issues with it! We did not ask for our money back the first visit giving the park the benefit of the reliability issue. The second time we did ask for our money back and the employees were RUDE and refused. NEVER AGAIN WILL I WASTE MY MONEY TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR FAMILY OR OUR SEASON PASSES. The maintenance of equipment is like a state fair carnival ride. Beware and be safe.

Absolutely wonderful

By Bowerbird S |

The atmosphere here is so beautiful. They keep it personal also, and it seems like the patrons respect the park. Each ride is tolerable for even people who get sick easily. I was very impressed by the engineering and quality of the rides. I usually can't go on things, but here they have it down to a science and you will have fun, not be miserable. It feels like you are in an old town, not a weird concrete theme park. All of the employees are delightful, the food is good, and there is something to do for all ages. Get the cinnamon bread! All the roller coasters are great. I didn't get a chance to ride Outlaw or Wild. All others were great. Also, don't skip the Marvel Cave tour it is enormous and mind-blowingly beautiful!!! It is included in your ticket. Don't miss it!!

Family fun with rides, experiences and memories!

By Okie Heather |

We were at the park from open to close on a 95 degree day. We had kids ages 17, 13 and 11. The park has beautiful trees with lots of shade, which helped greatly. We purchased premium parking. We didn’t purchase the fast pass. We went on a Monday, which provided us with short lines and minimal wait times. We rode all the coasters several times throughout the day.

We attended the dog show at noon to give us a break from the heat. We toured the Marvel Cave after dinner. That is a hidden gem that is easily missed near the park entrance. Tours start every hour and lines for the tour start around 30 minutes prior. This is a must-do!

Service at the restaurants was mediocre. It seemed disorganized with untrained staff leading to long waits and wrong orders, especially into the evening hours.

We finished our day with the fireworks in the park, which was magical!

Lost in the dark

By georgehZ5334WQ |

Great family park with great employes and would recommend it to all. My issue is beware that there parking lot is not well lit and is easy to lose your car if you leave the park after sunset. There rows go in different directions, no frame of reference of all sides, just dark woods. You may be the parent with tired cranky kids going row to row trying to hear a beep from car. Two calls, over two years, to SDC to ask them to put a simple and cheap row markers on the pavement or the outer fence, so you can note where your car is when those markers, in the daytime, disappear. If you are going to visit the park, walk to the transportation tram side of the lot, count the rows to the tram entrance. This is the only reference you get.

Great Family Fun

By Cyndi O |

This is a great place to come as a family. We have been coming since we were little, then came out kids. We were here with our 36 yr old son, my 34 yr old daughter her husband and 19 yr old nephew. There was plenty to do for the six of us. We highly recommend the cinnamon bread at Clara Bells, Cinnamon rolls at the bakery where you come in and eating at the Smokehouse (the Mac and Cheese is so good)
We all rode the new Fire in the Hole, so glad it was still the same story. Besides that all the rides were ones we rode before as we have season passes. People complaining about cost, your not paying to park!

Best amusement park experience

By OxonSC |

No wonder USA Today readers rated this the best park in the nation. It is. I’ve been to quite a few amusement parks, and the unique theme of Silver Dollar City, the mountain setting, the price of admission, and the quality of rides are unbeatable. The staff were the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. Overall, the best place to take a family. We were there the week it opened for spring break 2024. There were little to no wait times - I’ve never had that experience at a big theme park before. Exceptional quality.

Great Place to spend the Day and make new friends.

By Michael C |

Well worth buying a Season Pass. We try to go 5-6 times a year. Becoming Friends with People like Kelly & Michael at the Blacksmith Shop, Terry Wayne Sanders and Emily who may be a number of Characters thru out the Park. But Raising the Flag with Marshall Chuck is the highlight for this old Veteran. Thank you all for what you do.

Too Much to See in a Day

By Randy L |

A really nice theme park. It's always enjoyable. There is really too much there to see in a day - my wife was disappointed we didn't get to see any of the crafters. Definitely do Marvel Cave at the park entrance, the reason Silver Dollar City exists. Many shows, rides and exhibits. Wear comfortable shows, as there will be lots of walking up and down hills. Maybe not the best place for groups to visit together, as there will be a lot of, "I don't know, what do you want to do". I like this park better than the Disney parts in Florida.

Bad food at a place that braggs about their food

By sinclair l |

They should not advertise that their food is great if they are going to serve bad food at outrageous prices. I am not picky, but this is the second trip in a row where the food has been terrible. The first was the buffet. They were out of a lot of items, and what was left was not even high school lunch room quality. The second time, yesterday, was a hot dog place next to the kiddie ride area. Two hot dogs with cheese, bacon, and fries for $14. It was all cold with nacho cheese squirted on. Really gross and hard to swallow. The only table left was filthy, so we cleaned it up as best we could. I know the Hershends personally, and I know they expect better. I have worked fast food in my day, and I also know there is no excuse not to do better.

I don’t know what you been told from the 1 star reviews but they are lies this place is fun and wonderful. Go to this place and if you want to stay in a cabin or have a camper or rv, stay at the sdc campground

Good times!!

By HMC28 |

Myself, my husband, and our 2 kids (10 & 12), had a great time here! There were enough wild rides to satisfy my son, and enough tame rides to satisfy my daughter. We went over spring break, so it was very busy, but we still managed to have a great time! I love how the entire park is themed. It’s so well done! Good times for all!

Truly a joy....

By RICART75 |

Having enjoyed being here last year for the Xmas side of the park, we came early enough to enjoy the autumn Harvest version on this visit. We were truly glad we did.
It was a pleasant surprise seeing how much more craft emphasis there was in the fall. We came on the Monday and Tuesday before the Park closed for its winter transformation. We were told that the prior weekend had the largest attendance since Covid; but on our days, the crowds were quite light...for which we were thankful. This allowed us to have some leisurely conversations with craftsman and staff.
Barry Brown the pumpkin carver, Rocky in the knife shop, the author of Cherokee historic crime novels, the artist who painted with wax, musical siblings, etc.; it was a pleasurable and enlightening couple of days.
Being that autumn is our favorite season, the decorations, both day and night, were wonderful to view. The pumpkin creations were whimsical and grand.
And, of course, there is the music: Horsecreek, Homestead Pickers, Lindley Creek, Emalee Flatness and Dawson Hollow (who we enjoyed for 3 sessions).
All of this made for quite the Harvest bonanza.
We did come back after the park transformed, and were again amazed by the splendor of the Xmas decorations/lighting; as well as our favorite SDC musical offering..the Christmas Carol (last year we saw it on all three of our visits to the park). Unfortunately, we had to cut our time in Branson short on this visit, and only came the one last time; but it was truly a joy being able to compare the the two versions of the park next to each other.

Awesome experience

By Lynn R |

We loved all the lights at Branson. It was beautiful. We loved the show Coming Home for Christmas. We also loved the Spoken 4 in A Christmas to remember. The gospel singing in the Wilderness church was fun. We had a great day.

Fun, Fun, Fun

By Tisanay |

We had a very good time. The train “robbery” was hilarious this time, it’s always funny but this go around was hysterical. We enjoyed some gospel singing, riding Mystic River, Fire in the Hole and of course Huck and Tom River Blast. If you go in 2023 find reds pants, it’s fun for the younger children and those who are kids at heart.

The Best!

By I3016PKcourtneyc |

The cleanest and best laid out park I’ve ever been too. So many activities for all ages from rides to shows. We had 7 of us between 2 families and everyone left happy after 7 hours in the park!

Very good amusement park

By Leroy P |

Really fun amusement park. We’re from Southern California and SDC reminded us a lot of what Knott’s Berry Farm used to be like… “old country” theme, lots of variety in attractions and activities. We did a two day pass, which worked out great. Definitely too much to do in one day. Roller coasters were really good, lots of shops and craft/artisan demos, and lots of shows, all very entertaining.

Family enjoyed

By Rachel B |

It’s definitely expensive so if you are able to get a 2days-for-1 ticket, it definitely helps lessen the blow and allow you to hit up everything you want to do. Our son needed time to work up to some of the bigger rides which he wasnt ready for until the second day. The stunt dog show was also pretty awesome for the family. The thunderation rollercoaster could use some love - it was definitely via rough.

VERY DISSATISFIED

By Susan K |

TOTALLY DISCUSSED IN 4HRS WE RODE 1 RIDE BECAUSE EVERY LINE WE WAITED IN RIDE GOTTEN SHUT DOWN :( SO LAST LINE WE WAITED IN GOTTEN SHUT DOWN WE LEFT WAS SOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED

Great family fun!

By Kaitlyn F |

Great park and awesome rides! Family friendly for sure! Time traveler is the best attraction, highly recommended! Friendly environment.

Family Fun!

By GW B |

Great place for a family to spend the day! Plenty of rides for all ages, friendly staff, and plenty of music to enjoy. Dress comfortably including footwear as you'll do plenty of walking. Sampled the food at several places with a food pass that we bought. All of it was great!

Very disappointing

By Amber G |

Worst experience for our family.
This park claims to be ADA compliant. staff members are incredibly rude and their process for those in wheelchairs getting on rides is absolutely terrible.

Couldn’t do anything, park was way overcrowded

By Derek J |

The Park is beautiful but do not go on Thanksgiving weekend. The lines were over an hour long everywhere we went for rides or shows, even waited 45 minutes just to go through a food line. They need to do a better job accommodating big crowds or limit park access so people that drive several states away can actually enjoy it. We had to leave early and go back to Branson just so we could actually see some shows because it wasn’t happening at Silver Dollar. Would love to come back when it’s not so crowded.

Old Time fun

By Chris C |

Brought my daughter, my wife, and my mother in law for the day. They have had a blast on the rides and looking through the shops. It’s beautiful this time of year and we’ve enjoyed the decorations of fall.

Fun if you go on a non-crowded day

By Allison |

The good: Beautiful scenery and setting. Unique shops. Good rides for all ages. Easy parking with frequent shuttles/trams.

The bad: Food was terrible and insanely expensive. They do not limit capacity and we went on a day where they had over 22,000 guests and we could barely walk move at times due to the crowds, and only were able to ride a handful of rides due to long lines. An entire kid section was closed during our visit which eliminated half the kid rides.

The neutral: It is VERY hilly which made it tricky to navigate our stroller wagon at times. There is very little for toddlers to do or ride if they are under the height limit (and they are very strict on the limit, so if they are barely under, they won't be able to ride pretty much anything)

Fall and Winter Trips

By 2debrab |

Went in Sept and Nov. Sept they have the pumpkin fest. I do miss the other fall decorations, scarecrows for instance. In Nov it is very nicely decorated. We saw Dickens play, there were some changes made to that, that the old version was better. They didn't have some of the music they had before. I wish they would bring back the play "It's a Wonderful Life", that was truly amazing.

Fun times with granddaughter

By David C |

Always a good visit. Lots to see and do. Stuff for kids, teens and adults. Good eats, care tour, sgiws, rides, etc. Large parking lots with tram ride to entrance.

Never again

By Joe P |

We went for the old time christmas. We went 15 years ago and it was great . Greed, as taken over .Where we parked last time now you have to pay for it and its expensive. Once we got inside, there were so many people you couldn't walk through the park. It's an accident waiting to happen .If you got hungry you're out of luck .If you could find something open, the line was a mile long and they were understaffed. The wait for any of the rides ridiculous. One ride had a two hour wait. I will never go back in. That makes my heart.

Trash park that continuously closes rides.

By Clinton M |

This place is terrible… come here if you want to wait in lines for hours just to get close to the front and have them close the ride. This happened twice. We got to ride the swings and that was it. 0/10 trash park.

Can’t wait to come back!

By DeDe M |

Go during the week if you can. Use the tram service to conserve your energy for the park. There are some pretty good inclines walking and pushing a stroller. Fall decor was amazing. Most of the craftsmen shows were in the morning before 1pm on the day we visited. We should have arrived a bit earlier to catch a few more of those. Pumpkin Dance Party was awesome! We did buy tickets in advance and were able to save a few bucks. Overall it’s a spectacular place to spend the day with your family. Thank you SDC!

Trying to be like Disney

By desifoto |

I haven’t been here for 29 years. It has changed so much. It still has the same look and feel just a lot more stuff to see and do. It does feel like they’re trying to be like Disney with the elephant ride (just like the dumbo ride) and the tea cups ( just like mad tea party) along with other things they do. I love that there’s still a cave tour that’s not an extra cost. The food options are good for some and average for others, like the skillet meals aren’t like anything you’d get anywhere else, but could use more flavor. I’d say skip the whoopie pies, but the caramel bread and rolls are very good. The fall festival decorations were lovely. It’s a clean park. There are lots of places to shop. Some rides are very old, but they’re classics so it was nice to see them still there.

Amazing! One of the best Amusement Parks!

By Jack |

Silver Dollar City was great! There were so many amazing rides I loved there such as PowderKeg, Wildfire, and Time Traveler. The vibe was also so cool. All the employees were dressed in costumes to fit the 1880s theme. There are so many restaurants here along with plenty of shows. At 9:30, a firework show came on and lasted for more than 5 minutes. It was amazing. Overall, you can’t go to Branson without going to Silver Dollar City. It is truly amazing!

Still A Blast

By TLBPsyD |

We’ve been coming here for years, and it’s still a blast. Our kiddos have become roller coaster junkies and SDC has some of the best. The pumpkin decor is too cute at night. Great family vacation!

Just an average theme park

By Craig R |

Pros: free parking, tram from parking lot to the gate was very quick, good roller coasters.

Cons: rides broke down constantly throughout the day, ride wait times on the APP were horribly inaccurate, barely any shows open.

There were barely any non-ride attractions/shows open, so everyone was fighting to ride the same 5-10 rides. That along with at least 1-2 rides being down at all times led to huge lines. Maybe they offer more in the summer. Otherwise, I’d say 6 flags is better and I wouldn’t go out of the way to go here.

Fall Fest Is Amazing!

By Connie M |

The fall decor was totally amazing! The only thing that was disappointing was the train ride. Nothing was decorated, and it was the same as it always is. We thought the train holdup would be different during the fall festival event.

Vacation birthday getaway

By Chitlynne |

Went as part of family vacation and grandsons birthday. Bought the 2 day ticket with the whitewater add-on. It was awesome for sure and the memories will last for 3 generations. Thank you

Clean Fun

By easyeats57 |

We took the Grandkids, 4-7-9 and they LOVED it. The park was very clean. They have age appropriate rides so all were happy. It is in the Ozarks so it is hilly. My dogs were barking after 7 hours of walking.

Great Park

By Mickey5412 |

Awesome park! Very family friendly. It is well kept and pumpkin and fall festival are a lot of fun. The shows are excellent!

First time; underwhelmed

By sazzifrazz |

First time visitors. I liked the theming and the woodsy atmosphere. Walking those hills is a killer though!! Several rides were out of order off and on throughout the day. That was frustrating. Signage is not great in the park.

Seriously…the best.

By John S |

Silver dollar city is the best. Clean, mostly friendly staff, and excellent rides. Some long lines and app is not accurate with ride wait times.

Nice day

By Katie K |

We enjoyed our day here. We attended on a Tuesday in early June with the temps in the high 80s. It appeared that luck was on our side as the crowd was not unbearable. We did wait for over an hour for the Mystic River Falls water ride. The ride was a lot of fun, and we all got soaking wet! The 20-somethings in our group deemed their favorite rides to be Time Traveler, Outlaw Run, and Mystic River Falls. No one was impressed by Fire in the Hole and felt the wait was not worth it.

Makes everything feel like Christmas!

By Amy B |

Went to see all the Christmas lights at SDC. We went on a Saturday and boy was it crowded! But it was also gorgeous. We got the Tasting Passes but only used them once so not a very good value for us. Ended up giving them to a family with kids we came across. We got them and cups at the Midtown Guest Services. The lady who waited on us forgot to give us our colored arm bands when we purchased the cups. We didn't know we needed them until we were almost turned away at a restaurant. Luckily we had a receipt for the cups and the helpful attendant gave us arm bands. The tree at the entrance is spectacular! We sat and watched it for quite a while. The train ride was one of the highlights. Make sure you sit on the right side of the train. If you are on the left, the only thing you can see is woods. We also saw the Fa-La-La Follies show. It was fun and light-hearted. It is crowded so I would definitely recommend getting preferred seating ahead of time. We needed an ECV for my mom but they were sold out two weeks prior to our arrival. Chatted with the park before going and they said they save a few for day-of sales but they were sold out. Be sure to get one reserved way prior to going. SDC is very hilly and going back out is all uphill. Bathrooms are pretty typically nasty. If I hadn't really had to go, I would have turned and walked out.
The best thing about SDC is the Christian vibe. I appreciated the sharing of the Christmas story by Grandpa on the train ride and the Follies. All community members are so nice and helpful.

Don’t Miss This Park!

By jenppt |

With this being our first trip to Branson, I was on the fence about going to an amusement park when there are so many other attractions. I am grateful that a deal on Tickets at Work convinced me to buy a 2 day pass to Silver Dollar City plus a 1 day pass to their water park, White Water. We filled every bit of the 3 days with experiences ranging from watching master craftsmen like glass blowers create beautiful items to riding great roller coasters. We also thoroughly enjoyed the various entertainers. I have to say what impressed me the most about this park is that they do an opening ceremony every day that consists of having veterans in the crowd raise Old Glory, then everyone recites the Pledge of Allegiance before singing the Star Spangled Banner. What a great way to recognize our service members and take a moment to appreciate our freedoms. I officially have a new favorite theme park!

One of our favorite places to spend the day

By Meander10046040052 |

We have had season passes for several years, and go 4-5 times a year. It is well worth visiting. Go early for breakfast starts at 0830 daily. And enjoy the day with shows craft demonstrations rides and of course tour the cavern. You will not be disappointed.

Silver dollar

By Anita A |

First time visiting and had a good experience overall. We were told they are know for their shows. The day we went all the shows were the same, gospel music. I thought each show would have been different to give a variety of entertainment. The cave is a must do when there. The lines were short and overall it was a good time.

Small Park that Packs a Huge Punch

By cathyd |

We loved going here before all the local schools get out. No lines at any of the rides. Best value was the Marvel Cave tour that’s included in the park ticket. What an amazing hour we spent inside the cave. We rode the Flooded Mine, Steam Train, and Fire in the Hole and saw a couple musical shows. Of course we bought some of those delicious cinnamon rolls home with us.

Great Time!!

By Andrea P |

We love this place!! It's always fun to see the Halloween/ Fall decor. The grands are getting big enough that they are really having fun now. Lots of walking but worth it.

One of the absolute best family amusement parks

By MOTravelerken |

We have been to Silver Dollar City several times but it had been around 10 years since we have been there. My wife and I (in our 50's) went with my son and his wife (in their late 20's) and their 8 month old daughter. We had such a great experience. I wanted to highlight the fact that SDC has several Nursing Stations and "Calming Stations" for young children and babies. These are so convenient. Our 8 month old was able to get fed by her mom and get in a 30 minute nap at one of their Nursing/Calming Stations and this made our day so enjoyable as we had a happy baby all day and were able to enjoy the park for an extended period of time. The rides were great, the music was wonderful, the food was really good, and we had such an enjoyable day at a family friendly amusement park.

Good overall

By Gil G |

Overall nice experience bit overpriced for what you get more geared for older adults.Nice atmosphere but food and drinks are expensive especially for large families.

Great family fun!

By Jennifer B |

Super fun for the whole family! Park was clean and gorgeous, rides were super fun and well maintained. All of the staff we friendly and genuinely seemed happy to be there!

Highly recommended

By TexasMomTW |

Silver Dollar City was open for their “Old Time Christmas,” from 1- 9 PM. We parked in the free parking lot and took the free shuttle to the gate, where we bought our tickets with the generous veterans’ discount.
We enjoyed all of the live Christmas-themed shows, and were impressed with the singing talent and costumes. We enjoyed the Fire in The Hole, the Giant Barn Swing and the Lighted Steam Train rides, and the Christmas Light Parade. The entire park looked beautiful with the Christmas lights.
Regarding the app, which we downloaded prior to our visit- the list of rides with wait times and delay/closure information was very helpful. We found the “Favorites” feature a little clunky and hard to find; the “Get Directions” feature seemed to work intermittently, perhaps due to cloud cover or network traffic; and the “Showtimes Today”/”Show Schedule” seemed inconsistent for upcoming performances. So, take it with a grain of salt.
We highly recommend Silver Dollar City’s “Old Time Christmas.”

A Fun Day

By Calmjohn |

What can I say. A true amusement park for every one. Rides, shows, attractions, decent food, a party atmosphere for all ages. Be it an older couple like us, a family affair or young couples or small groups. You won't do everything in one visit, but you will do all that you can enjoy. I promise that you will have a great time and will most likely want to return.

Great time

By 2debrab |

We were there in September and November. Visited the park several times each trip for several years. Each time is wonderful. Park is absolutely beautiful during the Christmas season. A Christmas Carol play is a must see. Coming Home for Christmas live band and singing is ok, however, the music is too loud and singers have to sing even louder to be heard over the music making it hard to understand what they are saying. We prefer It's a Wonderful Life, (which is no longer there replaced by Coming Home for Christmas) All in all a great place to visit.

Disappointed in SILVER DOLLAR CITY

By Daniele L |

So disappointed! The crowds on this Sunday 50degree overcast rainy day were overwhelming. Lines unbearable for everything except shows. Basically spent $400 for total of 1 show for 3 people, 8 total rides among 5 people… NOT A GOOD VALUE. The map is insufficient to help you find things. The app was the saving grace but only worked efficiently sometimes. Overall, too many people to enjoy experience, too confusing to navigate and find things. Ages 10, 16, 17, 66, 71 … says we will not go back unless something major changes.

The workers very very nice. The facility is beautiful. Did get 5 plus miles of walking up and down hills in the 5 hours we could tolerate the crowds.

Good and bad

By Eric H |

If you like to wait in long lines only to be told the show is full or we ran out of that food item this place is for you! Also, if you love crowded places this place is also for you. The park was packed to almost overcapacity. We felt we really were not able to see much as we spent so much time standing in various lines. On the positive side, the Christmas lights were great.

Super fun amusement park

By JoyA |

Wow, such a fun park. Not only do they honor our veterans here but God too. There are loads of roller coasters for thrill seekers and music venues throughout the park to enjoy. There is great food and friendly people everywhere. They also have a bakery that has the best cinnamon rolls around!

Lots of rollercoasters!

By allyg199 |

Great amusement park, several rollercoasters and a nice section of rides for smaller children. Lots of walking, with some pretty steep hills. If you have mobility issues, you will probably need a scooter. Fun food choices - get the cinnamon bread! My only complaint is more lighting is needed after dark. The walkways were not well-lit at all. We have been to other parks during their Halloween nights, so it's possible to have better lighting while maintaining the spooky theme.

Fun day

Day of fun

Went with my teen kids and it was so much fun. Rode lots of ride, ate yummy food, shopped the shops

Brought water bottles to refill and so glad we did!!

SDC is always a relaxing time

By Patrick W |

As always, visits to the park are fantastic. It was crowded, and there were long lines, but the atmosphere was festive, the food was good, and since I live locally, it was easy to make a short visit for lunch and enjoy some good music. I've received good value from my season passes over the last few years, making admission affordable, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Ignore the recent news article - it doesn't even match the TripAdvisor reviews it claims to use in analysis. It's a great place to take the family and relax. Enjoy a show and a funnel cake.

Time Traveler is the best ride in the park...I said what I said.

By Melissa Bledsoe |

Went with family during Pumpkin/Fall fest 2023 to ride Fire in the Hole for the last time. SDC doesn't change much over time. The foods were a little too pumpkin-y, would have liked to see more apple offerings. The crowds were large and limited place to sit and rest. Time Traveler is what keeps me coming back and putting up with a day of lots of walking/lots of people. Would like to see a ski lift put in, in the future for the big hill you have to climb at the end of the day. Otherwise, this place is just a tradition and not a place we frequent.

Opening week success

By Anna |

5/5. Best day of our trip. The property was very clean. Every employee we encountered appeared genuinely happy to be serving us. Evident new safety training had occurred prior to opening. Park had so much to do- we were thrill seekers so barely stepped foot in to any shops or demonstrations. Lines were very reasonable. Longest wait was 30 minutes. We walked right on to the largest thrill coasters with no wait- 4X in a row! Definitely no need for trail blazer. The whole party had a blast and I was very pleased with the service, value of the ticket, and variety offered. We opened and closed the park and absolutely got our $ worth.

Making Memories Trip

By April B |

We stood in line for 45 minutes to ride one ride and then it broke down. We know things happen but this made for a very long day.. only to go to the next ride and it too be out of service! I have stage 4 cancer so I had to get a motorized scooter and let me just say those come in handy but make it extremely hard to get around as it’s too crowded to maneuver through the crowds. It was my first time being there and not sure we will go back. We heard such great things about it. But it was the least favorite part of our make memories trip. I paid $50 to rent the scooter and we stayed for all of 2.5 hours and 45 minutes of it was to wait in a line that we never got to ride. I usually don’t leave bad reviews. But I can’t justify giving a good review on this one.

BEAUTIFUL, FUN PLACE

By Trueflyfisherman |

It was a blast. Off season is the time to go because there are no lines to anything. Super fun time. Get their newpaper when you first go in and check the schedule for times the crafters are going to do a presentation so you don't miss it.

Plan on staying the day

By Poudregirl |

We went during November and the lights are incredible. I read 6 million and I believe it. We stayed until after the parade and I was glad we did. It was fun. Plan on wearing comfortable shoes as this place is huge. We went to almost all the shows and they were great.

Horrible

By cgeorgio2 |

Horrible place for disabled individuals in a wheelchair. Lines are long, employees not friendly or accomadating, the HILLS in this park . . . can't navigate them or push a wheelchair! Rides are delayed, cave tour better get in line hours ahead or you won't get in! Food and shops mediocre. Don't waste your time or money.

Upgraded to the season pass!

By MontanaMama35 |

Absolutely a must when you’re in Branson! I’d say this rivals Disneyland 100%. Better rides though.
The grounds are gorgeous, rides stellar, employees helpful and nice, and all around a great experience!
Get a frozen lemonade - the Silver Dollar City one - not Minute Maid!

Silver Dollar City disappointing.

By Susan B |

We went on the last day of the pumpkin fall festival and almost all of the food vendors were closed. It was very dark throughout the park. We have been before and had a good experience. It felt like they were already shut down and ready for the Christmas season. Very disappointing.

May be okay if you like rides.

By Michael P |

My wife was given a ticket. I thought I would get in for $17 as a Chick-fil-A employee but the promotion ended July 31, cost me $91 after a senior discount.
We had been there before, so nothing new. We did not ride anything except the train.
The shows were not nearly as good as they were when we were there during a festival.
There was no knife maker, looking for one to hire.
The bus driver for the parking shuttle was rude to everyone when we were leaving.

Fun for all ages

By Jennifer G |

Fun place for all ages. Lots of good stores. Fire in the hole was my favorite ride at the park. The only thing that stinks is all the hills.

The Crowd Keeps Coming Regardless

By Robert S |

It’s amazing how this theme park elicits feelings of previous experiences, regardless of the time of year. Having visited many times over the past 50 or so years, it’s interesting to observe that some parts of SDC haven’t changed (like the crafts and charm) but others are totally different (like the rides —-and price of admission). The one feeling that resurfaced upon visiting the park again this time (at Christmastime) is the complete fascination with how they seem to draw huge crowds regardless of their prices of admission. It’s as if they can charge whatever price they want and not adversely impact the crowds. Even with extreme cold, the crowds were still there and apparently unaffected by the park’s shortened operating hours.
Given all that, there are still issues with park management that one would expect to have been resolved by now. These issues, such as line management, poor or no parking lot lighting (a big deal this time of year), lack of signage for directing newbies, apparent staffing shortages (observed in some service areas), and parking. Overall, these didn’t drive off the crowds but did make for a personal experience again this time which makes one wonder how high the price of admission can go before the crowd even cares.

Disapointing Trip

By GarrusVakarian |

Visited on Sat Sept 27. Love the park, have been going as a young kid since the early to mid 70's. Every year it gets more expensive. This year is first time I purchased a Diamond Season Pass, Spent a lot of money to take a trip to Branson and Silver Dollar City. From the moment the park opened at 9:30 AM the New Fire In The Hold AND the Powder Keg were both down. Waited for at least an hour hoping they would be back up, nope. Time Traveler was down for the first 20+ min. We left the park at 10 PM and Fire In The Hole and Powered Keg never became operational. Also the American Plunge was being dismantled, no mention of this ahead of time. Was only able to ride 3 rides.

This was my one and only trip to SDC and it was a bit of a disappointment. I spent over $300 on the pass, another $15 upgrading my mug, $70 on fudge/candy/ and $50 on food and drinks at the park. I read online that I could use my season pass for a discount on fudge, but was told no at both fudge locations. Next year I'm going to visit Tennessee.

SDC, please get your act together Your rides should all be ready BEFORE guest arrive. I spent a lot of money coming here. I could have went anywhere in the world and choose your location only to be disappointed. I feel like I wasted my one vacation for the year, was really looking forward to riding the new fire in the hole.

Way too crowded! Don't waste your money!

By Jerry L |

They should have a limit to the number of people allowed in the park. First time back in about 15 years, this time with little kids. Took forever to do anything. Last time we were able to get right into anything without much wait. I don't know what happened. 45 minutes for the teacups or a pretzel? Are you kidding me! I wish we could get a refund. We got on about 5 rides in 8 hours. And everything was so expensive! I think we spent about $600 for the day. My family tried to make the best of it, but they were not happy. It's a shame, it used to be a joyful experience.

Silver Dollar City is Awesome!

By Guppysue |

We had another great time at Silver Dollar City. The park is our favorite and this was ou fourth visit and it did not disappoint!. We'll be back again.

Lots of walking - rent a scooter if you have any issues.

By Kathy R |

Fun day at Silver Dollar City. Some of the signage could have been better, confusing even with a map to distinguish. Would have been nice if everything was on one level instead of different "tiers" of the park. Difficult for anyone who walks. If you need to, rent a scooter - they are available. Lots of things to see & do, some exhibits weren't staffed and as hot as it was, wearing the costumes like the employees do, some were grumpy as well. Bought a refillable cup - supposed to get free refills that entire day, however was told ICEES were $3.00 more ? Lots of food selections, candy, fudge, taffy & cinnamon bread. Got a great work out in for sure - but didn't really anticipate all the walking that was required.

A must for Branson

By countrygirl4life |

Excellent theme park for the family. Clean, family friendly and so much fun. Definitely will be coming back!

Disappointed

By Wendy P |

Very disappointed! The lines for everything were unbelievably long. I had to wait in line for 48 minutes for a drink and it was right at $5 for a soft drink. The map is a huge disappointment and difficult to navigate. The park is very hard to navigate through if you have a family member with a scooter.
There are some signs posted, but not enough to help direct you to areas of the park that you're looking for.
All of that said, it is absolutely gorgeous with all of the Christmas lights and decorations! The park is beautifully lit for the Christmas season and the views are breathtaking.

Fun time for the a family with small kids

By Sam W |

Silver Dollar City has a pretty awesome vibe to it taking place in a late 18-19th century mid-west expansionist theme. The shops, rides, and eateries all reflect that American feel. What we did eat was pretty great (cinnamon bread and campfire skillet). The kid friendly rides were fun for the kiddos and plenty of restrooms all around which is great for a toddler. The old time photos was also great too. Friendly and cheery staff also helps as well!

So why the 4 then? Many of the snacks stands were closed. The park was severely crowded which I know you can't help, but with how the park is laid out, there are many congestion points which makes moving around challenging, especially with so many steep inclines/declines. The biggest issue, too much focus on the stores. Paying more for that definitely put a dampner on the experiences but not enough to ruin it by any means.

Family Fun & Memories!

There is so much to see & do at SDC. Ride rides or take in a show. Eat! Great family friendly entertainment! We love the shows and don’t have to worry about inappropriate behavior or attire

SILVER DOLLAR CITY IS A CUT-RATE MONEY-GRABBING TOURIST TRAP!!! AVOID THE DISAPPOINTMENT YOU WILL SURELY EXPERIENCE!!!

By Abbie L |

Silver Dollar City is NOT WHAT IT ONCE WAS, folks. Save your money. ALL of the charm and quaintness and 1890’s feel is GONE!!! All that’s left is a cut-rate half-baked low ball shopping mall with ill-trained staff and a few no good actors. There are NO artisans or craftsman. The food is low quality. The rides are iffy. The staff unfriendly and untrained and not enough of them.

I have been to Silver Dollar City through the years, when admission was FREE back in the 60’s, when it was amazing … filled with all kinds of artisans and craftsmen (glass blowers, black smiths, wood carvers, candy makers, etc.). that you could watch with shops to purchase their goods. There were delicious food stands, and staff that was well-trained, super friendly, and convincingly acted and dressed like they were from the 1890’s. There were wonderful street musicians, dulcimers, and the train ride was MUCH more entertaining. There was delicious street food … funnel cakes, barbecue, skillet food, home-baked goods … all being made right there. There were mule rides, stage coach rides … and it was VERY VERY. CHARMING, CLEAN, QUAINT, INTERESTING, and WONDERFUL.

I am not sure who is responsible for the downfall of Silver Dollar City, but it will eventually shut down because it’s THAT BAD. They have done shot themselves in the foot!

I really miss the good ol’ days when Silver Dollar City was truly a wonderful place to be for a day.

BOTTOM LINE … DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS CUT RATE, MONEY GRABBING TOURIST TRAP!!!

Like no other! Don't skip this one!!

By JoshyCedar |

A true gem. Step back in time for a delightful afternoon or weekend. Live crafting around every corner, family friendly, and food fit for a king. Such a great environment and pleasant park in general. They've done so many things right, I am nearly tempted to move here to enjoy more often.
Best advice I could give you and yours is to purchase a pass. Annual pass pays for itself in just under 3 visits and it's good til after Christmas (which, in itself is the second best time of year to come enjoy millions of lights, compassionate park staffers, and views to mesmerize for hours).
Parking is a journey if you don't want to wait for the free bus rides from entrance to each lot..Food pricing is a bit steep.

Mothers Day 2024 @ SDC

By Stina M |

For Mother's Day this year, we celebrated in Branson and decided to go spend the day at SDC because it was the best weather predicted during our stay.. It was an amazing day spending it with my hubby and daughter having fun, laughing, and seeing my daughter's first time on big rides and my husband's first time at SDC!
I read reviews as well before, but didn't really see any reviews about bringing younger children and the amount of rides they could go on. My daughter just turned 5 and we didn't want to be stuck in the kiddie area all day. Of course, younger kids can ride the kiddie rides as long as they are 36 inches or taller. Navigating to the bigger rides, we were not sure what they consisted of. Being her first time at an amusement park and never riding anything but the carousel or cars, we weren't sure how she would react on bigger rides. You definitely need to know your child's height but if not each ride does have a measurement wood piece by the sign saying "you need to be this tall to ride" Of course the rides that went upside down, the requirement was 55' or taller. There were a decent amount of rides that only required a child to be 42" tall to ride with an adult and others were 48". With the wait times on the day we went, we rode just about everything my daughter could. Plus there's the water boat rides....1 with a log and 1 with an 8 person tube and a pirate ship cruise which we didn't ride because we didn't want to be wet all day even though temps were around 80 and sunny. The best ride was fire in the hole which is new. There's a surprise on the ride which I won't spoil. We did purchase the photo from the ride as a keep sake of our time there. My 5 year old even rode Thunderation 2x with us and loved it. There is a dark tunnel which scared her the first time we went but she was laughing and whooo-ing the whole ride. The kiddie area had a large amount of rides for the younger children who can't go on the bigger rides which are mostly in one area. There were a few more rides for younger children in a different area but majority was in the Grand exposition area.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everytime we were at a standstill with map out, someone came up to us to offer help with directors to where we were trying to head.
They even had an area with animals which we didn't go into but wanted to but ran out of time.
Hours we stayed was arrived around 11 and stayed until close which is 6 pm during the spring season.
I really hope this helps another family deciding to go or not with younger children.

Some things I've learned about SDC that I didn't know before....
1. SDC is a giant circle with paths that cut through the middle.
2. The bigger thrill rides are all located on the outside perimeter of the park. The map holds a key which tells you the amount of thrill it will be.
3. SDC is built on hills. Going down hill, you are going away from the entrance/exit, going uphill, you are going towards the entrance/exit.
4. SDC does not give much of a discount anywhere bc they do not need the marketing. The best day to go is Thursday where the price is cut to a 1/3 at country mart. The best deal we found was thru AAA which came with a $10 photo voucher for each ticket.
5. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Everytime we were at a standstill with our map out, a worker would ask "What can I help you find" or May I help you find something"
6. Download the park app for ride wait times and a better view of the map with which paths to take to go where you want to go in the park.
7. We brought metal water bottles in and found places by bathrooms with a water bottle filtered dispenser to refill. The only time we bought drinks was with lunch. Great food also. We ste at a burger place. Something for everyone.
8. If you can, bring your own stroller for younger ones as it is hilly, and save $30 by renting one.
We will be back Sometime or another as we live in STL. Had a great family day having fun and laughing. A great memory for sure.

Okay

By Chris C |

I have been here lots of times. This visit was Friday after Thanksgiving. I had no idea that this would be the busiest time of the year for SDC. It was disappointing. Lots and lots of people. Long, long lines. Not necessarily the fault of SDC. I will return in the spring. I do wish that SDC would offer some of their products (jams, jellies, syrups) for sale on line. Other than that, it was just, okay.

Who needs sunshine when you've got express lanes for roller coasters? A little rain is just liquid courage.

By Peter O |

Embarked on a Silver Dollar City adventure with the kids, and let me tell you, it was like trying to corral hyperactive squirrels on roller skates. We might as well have had a sign on our backs that said, "Caution: Chaos in Progress."

Mother and fatherhood level: Expert. We've mastered the art of counting heads faster than Rain Man in a math competition. Enter the rain – the universe's way of testing parental mettle. Did our kids care? Nope. Rain meant shorter lines for rides, and suddenly, we were the kings and queens of the theme park, reigning over wet pavement and soggy roller coasters.

We transformed from parents to theme park ninjas, dodging raindrops and maneuvering our stroller like it was bumper cars. The kids, in their winter coats, embraced the rain like it was confetti at a party. Meanwhile, we were the designated hot chocolate cup bearers, steering the ship through the storm. Soaked but victorious, we declared, "Who needs sunshine when you've got express lanes for roller coasters?" Silver Dollar City, where rain is just liquid courage for parents facing the wild ride of family fun!

Great evening event.

By Larry A |

The 5-10 pm time is a great time to beat the heat and enjoy Silver Dollar City. Lower crowds and less heat is a good thing.

Always A++++.

By Karen Beis |

Always a great visit. We have been bring our teens here since they were 1 yo. We always have an amazing time and there’s always plenty to keep us busy. We went during a dance party and a drone light show that as excellent!!! What a great at time!!!

Disappointment our first time

By Dennis D |

It was our First time there. Confusing layout of venues. We got so lost locating Christmas Shows, we missed the first two we wished to see, could not find them in time. Spent too much time with the downloaded app to guide us with in the park. We decided to seek out signs with arrows pointing out directions to move instead. The shows open 15 mins before show time. Once seated, we very much enjoyed the shows. The LIGHTS! So BEAUTIFUL, a must see.

Silver Dollar City ~ Fun For All Ages!!

By Randy H |

My wife and I had a great time roaming SDC and enjoying the shows and some of the "slower" rides! We rode the train twice! Great little shops, friendly people and smiling faces. One of the singers we heard was really, really good!

Fun trip that would be fun for all ages. We're glad that we went!

Disorganized Mess

By cjd1987 |

For as long as SDC has been around, they have NO business being as disorganized as they are. We purchased trailblazer passes, VIP cups, and summer tasting passports and when we asked employees where to turn those in/get the cups, we got varying answers and none of which were right. We happened to find the spot where we got the cups by chance. We were told that there were no passes for the trailblazer passes and we would just have to keep our printed QR codes to scan at each ride. My cousin went to find guest services to ask about the tasting passports and while she was there, they informed her that there were indeed actual little passes for the trailblazers. It was just an absolute mess getting any actual information!

Once we finally got all of that figured out, it was a decent enough time. Lots of rides for the little kids in our group and they loved the fire house play area. For the bigger kids, they really enjoyed all the coasters and had a great time. It’s just a shame that things seemed to be so disorganized at the start and it just got us off on the wrong foot there.

Family Fun

By Kevin S |

Always fun. We have family that does roller coasters, we have family that does little kids area and we have family that does shows. Enough to keep everybody busy for the day. Christmas lights are the best anywhere.

I paid for the passport thing and mug with free refills my son riding a ride so i went to use my cup got yelled at over it being 940 she hasn't had anytime to get the food ready talk to be like i was a dog even the other people in line was apologetic i didnt ask about the food just wanted to fill my cup up i will not be going anymore last year silver dollar city traveler's food stand a cross from the time travel giftshop you need to have some customers service training if you hate ur job that much hang it up

Very talented performers.

By Sherryl89 |

The fiddle and mandolin players were really excellent. The magic and humor was amusing and clean. I had seen most of the magic show before but still enjoyed it. We went on a day when the major theaters were not open. Still I did not see everything I wanted to because the schedules were not staggered enough. The shows were short, and left you wanting more, so I sat through the next set of my favorite one. It did seem that the changes to the parking lot was an improvement. Hopefully new lighting is in the plans before the lots are completed.

Family Fun!

By Tracy W |

We always enjoy our time at Silver Dollar City! This trip we visited during Street Fest and had a blast. The park itself never fails with fun on all the rides, especially the new Fire In The Hole! We always make time to enjoy the shows as well. The kids especially loved Kristy Sellars Imaginarium! This was a great show and lots of talent. There is a variety of foods in the park to choose from. We enjoyed Pizza, Burgers, Cheese steak sandwiches and lots of funnel cake and candy. We also got our steps in each day averaging 5-7miles of walking!

Wow. Excellent shows!

By Dr-Bea B |

Celebration Senior Travel is the best company to travel with if you need pampering! this time we went to Branson MO and also to Silver Dollar City. The quality of the shows at Silver Dollar City was amazing. They say they have 2 millions lights and, even when I didn't have time to count them I, believe it.

Its an old time Christmas

By Todd H |

Great lights and wonderful family experience. The shows are awesome. The atmosphere is Old time Christmas. The admission was very cost effective. Recommend coming for 2 days and get the season pass.

$270 for 6 hours with thousands of people. Dont do it

By Diana P |

Thousands of xmas lights = good/fun
Thousands of people = No good

Being a senior, its been on my wish list since moving to region few hours away. Heard Xmas best time.

Very back back and wslking abilities, hills were tough to navigate. Bought a silly tasters pass for $37. Dont waste your time. Hard to figure out where or who honors these. Sadly i hate peppermint and wanna guess how many items of 5 total, had peppermint. Way way to many. Only found 1 place (funnel cake burnt).

Started out chicken buffet at noon near entrance. Within hour i was throwing up, luckily in bathroom. Sour tummy all day.

Only able to see 1 show due to long wait times, long distances to walk. Btw, handicap parking sold out so had to pay $20 to park then tram ride in.

Bucket list item now done. Only cost us $270 for our 6 hour stay. No goodies bought just lunch, parking and entrance.

Its a hell no for us.

Expensive Waste of Time.

By Maps13486786736 |

We were here 10/5/25. I was disappointed. This place is geared towards kids and young people. The layout is by design confusing. There are street names on the paper map, but not prominent on in park markers I downloaded the SDC app to have the real time GPS map. The paper map should have an A-Z x axis and 1-20 y-axis with places marked accordingly.
The food was awful, my wife got food poisoning. At least 2 shows were closed. The train ride was 20 minutes and beautiful scenery in places. Did I say 20 minute ride? I meant 5 minute ride and 15 minute waste of time getting "held up" by a "train robber" telling bad Dad jokes.
If you go, at least Google a 5 digit promo code ahead of time. I got 15% off that way. In 2026 a 1200 acre resort next to the 100 acre park to extort more money from the Yankee visitors. Save your money, plenty of places in the gorgeous Ozark Mountains than waste time and Money in this outdated Tourist Trap.

A day at Silver Dollar city

By Sarah H |

My sister and I spent a full day at Silver Dollar City but had a rough beginning. If you can find maps to help guide you online before your visit, I would suggest finding them! Once you figure out the map and park situation, it’s much easier to find the venues that you want.
Because we were so slow in figuring things out, we didn’t get to see the attractions we wanted to see unfortunately. We also bought the $37 food pass and that was a mistake. The food was excellent, but the lines were long and you couldn’t necessarily get the food you wanted because of those long lines.

That said, we had a blast, but we would do it differently next time.

David Howarth Piano Show

The David Howarth Show is really good. Piano player. Stop by and see his show. Very entertaining!!!! He has a lot of variety for everyone!!! Very talented.

Don’t pay extra for parking. You’ll end up walking.

By Culture20896773263 |

Might as well utilize the free parking, because the shuttles run non stop to the far away free parking, but even though you pay extra to park closer to the entrance, you end up getting constantly passed up was our experience. Even though there is a pickup point, we had to ask twice to get someone to stop and pick us up. Most of the other folks gave up and just started walking back to their vehicles. Not a good thing SDC.

Constant Breakdowns!

By Tiffany P |

We were at SDC for the first 2 days of opening for 2025. The first ride we went to was Fire in the Hole and only half our group made it on the ride. The other half got "stuck" on the first curve and then the ride shut down. It was down most of the day and it wasn't until the end of the day they made it on to the ride. Time Traveler was also broken down much of the day as was the big water ride. The kids did enjoy the kiddie rides and they didn't have to wait long for most of them. The loading was VERY slow on some of those rides. The next day we had some rain/shutdowns for weather. We once again tried Fire in the Hole but it broke down as we reached the front of the line. Time Traveler and several of the other rides also had breakdowns. On the train ride we were in the first car and it was impossible to hear the interaction between the "robbers" and train people. The kids were bored. I will say that all of the workers were friendly and helpful! The food we had both days was also quite good for theme park fare. SDC is also very hilly and hard on people with mobility issues. I don't anticipate a return anytime soon.

Great experience with an infant and young kids

By Stacy B |

We had a great time and highly recommend. There is a lot to do for all ages. The kids in our group really enjoyed it. Love that the park is shaded a lot. Extra kudos for the amazing nursing rooms throughout the park as well. That was a major plus.

Amazing Park

By William J |

Amazing park! When you look at the map online it seems small but there is sooo much to do, you find out that 1 day is not enough. There are rides to cater to everyone. The shows are a must see. Be sure you check out the different festivals they have thoughout the season. If you live within a 3-4 hour radius of the park, I would recommend getting a season pass. It pays for itself within two visit.

Christmas lights galore!

This is a must do during the holiday season! We were blown away at all the spectacular lights! It was so beautiful! Better than Disney hands down! 🎄🎅🏼

Silver Dollar City VIP TOUR

By Leah C |

We went to Silver Dollar City with our family and another family mid April. We were not going to be in Branson long, only 3 days, so we decided to make the most of our one day at Silver Dollar City with booking a VIP tour. To our surprise, the park was also closed two of the three days we were going to be there so always check which days the park in opened during off season.

Our guide, Huff or “Howdy” called the day before to find out what we were interested in doing for the day and was able to answer all questions I had.

We were greeted at the entrance with our guides waiting. We had VIP parking as well which was right by the entrance to the park. Our friends had “Emily” as a guide.

Howdy & Emily were able to quickly take us to all the rides the children and adults wanted to experience. Some of those rides, multiple times. Most lines for the rides were not long but we were still able to skip to front of the line and sit where we wanted on each ride.

We got to go to the candy making room and meet Mrs. June who has been working there for 58 years!
We also saw the magic/comedy show with Chris Stanley which I highly recommend!
Frontier Follies was also a cute show where we had VIP seating. Be sure to get the root beer float!

There is no way we would have been able to navigate through the park and do all that we did in one day without our awesome tour guides! They were extremely accommodating and fun! It was such a fun day! If you’re able, book a VIP tour guide at Silver Dollar City!

Christmas Light Display worth braving the holiday crowds

By ettyvonne |

I like amusement parks and this one was good. The parking lot trams ran continuously with no wait. The gift shops had a lot of craftmanship that is not always at amusement parks. I went over the Christmas holiday and yes, it was crowded, but there amazing 6 million plus Christmas lights is worth it. Fun rides for all ages and thrill seekers.

Nice time at the park

By David S |

Went to the park mainly to see the Christmas lights and displays. The lights were awesome and they were all around the park. We did do some shows and a few rides. The $35 food sampling was worth the money. The only complaint was the lack of signs we found around the park a little difficult to get around compared to other parks we have been to.

People are SO CRAZY NICE!

By jenlynnbenn |

All the staff are so darn incredibly nice. Park is clean. Prices are reasonable for an amusement park. Saw a handful of shows which were enjoyable..

Te travel ride

By Susan d M |

Go early plan on closing the park .
Do rides later in the day lines are not long .
Bring water bottles to refill, saving a ton of money on drinks .if you have brain trauma, don't do time traveler it twist you around, shaking you up .

Great Place! Limit the number of People!!!!

By psycdr1 |

It was way too crowded! I was not impressed, they should limit people during the Christmas season!!! I was disappointed it took hours to walk anywhere and the people just stopped in the way of others to just chat! The park is great, however; limit the people. I realize they want “your money “, however; allow people to enjoy the park. The food was excellent, however; very limited.

Don't fall for "Go in after 3 and the next day is free"

By smith |

We had not been to SDC since COVID. In previous years SDC was known for "Come after 3, the next day free" I checked on the website and it did not say that was no longer in effect. So we went expecting "Go in after 3, next day free" That was not the case. In fact, we paid $500 for 1 day and 2 hours. Talk about the prices being expensive. We talked to Customer Service at the park and all they did was have us buy a two day pass. This month they are offering "Buy one day , get the next free" I sent an email to SDC and their response was "So sorry about all of that." Where did the idea of "making the customer happy"? They could have sent free passes, not saying that we will go back. So I just want everyone to know for one thing, There is no more "Go in after 3, get the next day free" ( not mentioned on the website) and that SDC is not customer friendly. In fact Customer Service at the park was very short. "Take it or leave it attitude" and the main Customer Service has a pat answer of "So sorry for your inconvenience" I read it in another review also. In conclusion, Dollywood was great!

Wonderful start....

By RICART75 |

We came here the opening Xmas decorations week, Monday; and the crowd was at a pretty comfortable level.
After sharing a sundae at Hannah's, while waiting for rope-drop; we began our leisurely wandering through SDC.
Having been here several times before (and being ole-fartz with limited mobility); we paced ourselves for the areas of interest to us.
After watching the glass blowing artisans, and browsing their wares; we spent some time enjoying the barn full of decorated Xmas trees. We then worked our way over to our main objective (with a couple of rest stops); The Dicken's Xmas Carol show. After attending the first presentation, we so appreciated the performance; we got back in line and saw it once again.
That was followed by a snack from Chester's Kettle Chips, while watching the first pass of the Xmas parade.
We then slowly ambled up the hill to Mid-town, and the spectacular visual feast of many of the 6.5 million lights.
We then watched several music displays on the huge LED Xmas tree; until the 2nd Xmas parade passed by.
After waiting a bit for the exiting crowd to disperse; we headed to our vehicle.
All and all; another wonderful early start, to the holiday season.

Definitely pass on the FOOD PASS!

By Jay R |

To be real, Sliver Dollar City was great in so many ways - but right now they're really promoting this "Harvest Festival Taste Pass for $37." Okay, so let's try it and see........ only if you want to spend your entire day in a food line generally serviced by only ONE PERSON! Honestly, most of the food was pretty tasty, but come on, if you're going to promote something so heavily it needs to be managed WAY, WAY better. One person to take your order, take the money - or scan and mark your pass, prep food, make the food, get your order ready and then serve the food....... often done by 70 year olds. (who are lovely but not that fast) And to think I was there on a weekday!? I can't imagine a weekend trying to get some food here. To be fair, a some of the food places did have people, but at least half for the pass booths had just one. Not cool Silver Dollar. Loved the Halloween decor.......I could still see it from the food line. 😆

One of our favorite spots

By Robert B |

We took our granddaughter who is 9 and she had a great time, but when we go by ourselves it is the shows and food that we take in. We are pass holders and go often.

The Best Amusement Park

- - - - - - - -

My wonderful wife and I enjoyed a fantastic getaway weekend to Springfield and Branson… 47 hours of fun!

We have visited SDC / Silver Dollar City many times over the years; during all seasons; each visit has been wonderful.

This trip was a shorter visit, so we only had 2-3 hours to visit.

We rode The Great Barn Swing and Thunderation, both fun.

We also enjoyed visiting the original home that was built in the 1850s… nice docents!

We also enjoyed the knife smith, purchased some lye soap, honey - elderberry, raspberry, spun chocolate the lady who works here is so friendly, and shares samples so you can be confident in the ones you like the best.

Next visit we’ll get back into Marvel Cave!

December, 2023 (2023-12)
- - - - - - - -
Fantastic year-round; extra special at Christmas time.

My daughter and I visited recently, to ride Fire in the Hole one last time before it's replaced, apparently by a new Fire in the Hole.

While it was a cool and cloudy December day, with temperatures in the 50's, we had a great time.

I realized that it has somehow been 12 or so years since we were last here... we had season tickets and fixed 4 or 5 times back in 2011... when the kids were much smaller... and now our daughter's in college, and it still seems like yesterday we were last there that year... time flies.

- - -

ROLLER COASTERS

And this year, we flew... on roller coasters, five of them

- Fire in the Hole

- Powder Keg

- Wildfire three times... SO SMOOTH... even though it's a 155 foot drop... 66 mph... 3,075 feet long... awesome ride atop a hillside

- Time Machine... which slows twice and stops once... then each of the three times it accelerates you forward (using under-track / under-car magnets?)... and while the cars do rotate as you speed along the track, it is not so much that you feel dizzy

- ThuNderaTion

all were awesome!!!!!

- - -

CRAFTSMEN and CRAFTSWOMEN

Artists... for several weeks, at another time of the year, Silver Dollar City hosts craftsmen and craftswomen who make items right there for you to see (and purchase).

While this was not the time dedicated to crafts everywhere in the park, we did see some... The Bent Spoon and a shack with much honey from a bee farm in Springfield, MO.

THE BENT SPOON

Marc at the Bent Spoon is a great artist.

"The Bent Spoon specializes in spoon and fork jewelry based on vintage silverware patterns from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Pick out your favorite pattern from a wide selection of jewelry that include spoon and fork rings, spoon and fork necklaces and spoon bracelets." (source silver dollar city dot com)

Our daughter found some nice rings at the store where the artisans make rings from old silverware... from the handles.

They also make snails and other items by artfully bending the tines of the forks.

Honey - whipped and other flavors... and they let you sample - so good!

- - -

FOOD / DINING

Along the way, we had some fantastic food:
- Skillet for breakfast - sausage and chicken
- Apple cider
- Hot dog and a potato on a stick
- hot chocolate
- Honey - whipped and other flavors - we brought it home and the whipped honey was gone by mid-week

- - -

We have also enjoyed the tour of Marvel Cave, which has a main area so big they have floated hot air balloons in it... it's worth a visit.

- - -

Christmas crowds

The following is based on a single afternoon in 2023, but it is similar to what we experienced in 2010...

The park has a good number of guests during the day, but the lines for the rides are not too long.
It appears that there is a larger crowd arriving for the Christmas parade, ~ 5pm, and for riding the train after dark - that line looked quite long... so just plan ahead to get in line early and/or expect to wait - the train ride was great and celebrates Jesus's birth

- - -

We'll see you again, soon, Silver Dollar City!

Silver Dollar City Harvest Festival and Pumpkins In The City

By Misty |

It was awesome I go every month have been all my life the greatest Theme Park in the World and the only one I like. If anyone reads I highly recommend Silver Dollar City

Good rides and good food.

This was a fun day. Lots of rides of all styles. It also had many old-time features. lots of good food too.

Disappointed with Silver Dollar City

By Donna D |

The holiday lights and lighting of the Christmas tree were beautiful but I thought the parade was very disappointing. Not much to it. We saw one show (A Christmas Carol) which was very enjoyable but after that, there was very little for us to do since by 6:30 or 7 p.m. many of the little shops were closed. It was so cold and we only saw one stand selling hot chocolate when we first arrived at about 5 p.m. (with a very long line) but I think it was also closed by the time we got out of the show. There was one little shop which advertised selling Starbucks coffee so we went in there to get a hot drink and it clearly was not “Starbucks” coffees as we know it! Our drinks were awful, even after we tried to doctor them up ourselves. I definitely think SDC should offer tickets at reduced prices after 5 pm, especially in the winter months because there’s not really much to do for the money!

Overcrowded

By Barry B |

The park was slammed. The staff didn't have control of the situation at all. At several food shops there were multiple lines for one register causing altercations with guests. Lines for the rides were hours long. The pathways were littered with kids in WAGONS and elderly in electric scooters hitting your heals. If you need a drink, forget about it. A line for hot chocolate is over and hour. There is no way a fire marshal has rated this location to have as many people inside as there were. Not fun at all.

By Hooked_on_travel77 |

A fun day for sure but pricey and not quite up to a 5 star rating. Two senior passes were $91 each. We saved at least a $15 parking fee by using the free lot. The trams were close and rather quick. 5 roller coasters were enjoyed and most were excellent. The Time Traveller was really unique and the Powder Keg was like being in a drag strip car. There is no ferris wheel or sky ride here but there was a saloon show which was OK. It was so 'cheesy' though it was almost too much. We actually were glad when it was over. An all day drink mug was $19 and worth it but you are stuck with just Coke products. That does get old. Most prices are really high here and almost Disney-like. The best value was the Twisted Tater Dog which was really different and quite tasty.
Overall we were glad we visited but a return is not likely when we visit the area again.

Silver Dollar City

By Jay J |

This was my first time back to Silver Dollar City since I was about 12, and the park has changed. We took my friend from Italy there as a new experience, and she loved every moment. Fire in the Hole was as great as always. Fun day and the Christmas lights and parade was fantastic.

Weight Limits/Size of Seats High Thrill Rides

By khloe z |

I wanted to make a post for those that are considering going to silver dollar city and wondering what size seats most of the "high thrill" silver dollar city roller coasters are.

I believe at some point I read online most rides at silver dollar city fit people who weigh 215 or less. I also saw a post online about a guy who said he weighed 300 and said he fit in almost all of them.

Today I went to silver dollar city with my husband (he fit in 100% of all of the rides). I however, had more trouble than he did. I'm 5ft 9" and weigh 299. There were only 3 roller coasters I was able to fit in: the New Fire in the hole, Wild Fire & Thunderation.

Each roller coaster does have a tester seat at the begining of each ride to see if you'll fit before waiting in line.

Just wanted to help get the information out there so people can determine if Silver Dollar City is worth the bang for your buck if you are going for the sole purpose of enjoying the rides.

15 years ago was the last time I was at the park prior to today, and even then, I barely squeezed into the rides (and that was about 50 pounds ago). Silver Dollar city is a favorite place of mine but I think I'll work on hitting the gym a little harder before my next trip back there.

Had fun!

By Keith R |

The kids loved it! Most rides did not have a long wait. Almost something to ride or do for all ages. The toddler did get left out except for carousel but he liked splash pad.

To expensive for seniors. We don’t ride anything

By Debi G |

We love going here but this will be our last. We come every year to Branson but this place is just to expensive for seniors that don’t ride. We don’t ride and are unable to ride anything. We just go to walk, eat, look around. They should have a band or something with a lower price for those who don’t ride. It’s very expensive. To expensive for seniors on fixed income who don’t ride.

Hot outside but worth it

By minnemommy |

We spent 12 hours at Silver Dollar City and had a great day despite the heat. We’ve been to a dozen or so amusement parks over the years, and our coaster-loving son declared it the best park we’ve been to. Here are some specifics:

Arrive early. We arrived before 8:30 am so we could eat the breakfast buffet at Miss Mollie’s Mill. This turned out to be a good move. We parked right next to Tram Stop 2 in the parking lot and boarded immediately, and were dropped off right at the gate. This saved us from buying premium parking.

ECV rental. I had reserved an ECV online, and the booth opened at 8:30 for the 9:30 park opening. If you arrive early and there are ECVs with shades available, you can upgrade for an additional $10 over the $52 rental fee. This turned out to be a great move on a hot day. The ECV had a basket on the front perfect for holding everyone’s water bottles, and our big tote bag sat comfortably on the floor of the scooter. Some people who had non-canopied ECVs slung backpacks over the back of the vehicle, but that didn’t work with the canopy attachment. The only drawback to the canopied ECV is that you cannot take it into the theaters. There are a few stretches of road that you can’t take the ECV on due to steep hills, but once you figure them out, the detours are easy enough. I used the ECV for 12 hours and the battery was still in the mid range at the end. The only downside was figuring out where to return it at the end of the day.

Rides. We had purchased the 8-ride Trailblazer passes, wanting to maximize our time in the park. What we found was that the park was not very crowded, and in most cases the line waits weren’t more than 15 minutes. It wasn’t until evening that we ended up using some of the passes. Whether the crowd size was lower due to it being a weekday (Friday) and hot (96 degrees), or whether this is the normal summer crowd size, we weren’t sure. We did agree that having the passes made the day more enjoyable — kind of insurance that we’d get to go on the rides we wanted. But if we’d known the crowds would be what they were, we probably would have skipped them. I was glad we hadn’t purchased the unlimited-ride passes.

Navigation and App. There’s a newspaper in the park with show times, a park map, and other information, and it was useful to have. The app was somewhat helpful, though ride times weren’t entirely accurate, and the mapping features weren’t ideal for someone not familiar with the park. In the afternoon, my group wanted to meet me at the cinnamon bread place. I had Google Maps, Life360, and the park app open, and it was still hard to explain to them where I was. Likewise, some information isn’t up to date. The disability brochure listed the accessible entrance for one ride as being next to a shop that is no longer called that. I also wished the app would show you all the places to find a certain food (like the frozen lemonade that we really enjoyed).

Shops and Demonstrations. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the shops, but there were several. I appreciated having a quilt shop in the middle of an amusement park. Some shops were large enough to take the ECV into, but for most, I parked it outside. One disappointment was that we didn’t discover the Ozark Marketplace until we were leaving the park. I would have spent more time there if I’d known about it earlier in the day. There is package pickup available if you don’t want to carry your purchases with you.

Beating the Heat. It was a very hot day, and we appreciated having plenty of shady spots to stop and rest. There are sprinklers and misters in a few spots around the park, as well as the water rides (which did have long wait times). We liked the frozen lemonade, asked for several free glasses of ice water to fill up our water bottles, and found air conditioned spots for a treat at the ice cream shop near the gazebo and at the cinnamon bread shop (where iced coffees were also appreciated by my group). Some of the stores are also air conditioned. Lots of people also had small battery-powered fans, which were a great idea.

Food and Drink. Prices were surprisingly not terrible — about what you’d pay for a meal at a decent restaurant. We ate a wide variety of food during the day, and everyone got what they wanted.

Breakfast Buffet. Starting with the breakfast buffet was ideal to be in the park early, but also because it was good food and plentiful. Even our pickiest eater found plenty to eat and went back for more. The buffet consisted of strudel bites, fresh fruit (melons, strawberries, pineapples — and not all mixed together), yogurt, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, and silver dollar pancakes. I think the price was abut $16/person plus beverages.

Birthday Treats. It was my husband’s birthday, so he got a special birthday pin at the general store and got some free treats in the park — ice cream, kettle corn, a cookie, etc. It was fun to go around and collect the treats. Don’t wait until the end of the day, though — he got the last birthday cookie around 6:30 pm.

Park Staff. All of the park staff were friendly and helpful and helped us have a great day. We felt bad for them being dressed in long sleeves and other period clothing in the hot weather, but they served with a smile.

Charging Your Devices. I had forgotten my portable battery at home, so had purchased a new one, but it turns out that wasn’t necessary. If you have cords along, you have a couple of options: There were a few stations around the park with rentable batteries for charging, and there was also a charging station with several benches and charging ports.

Overall Impressions.
1) We spent more time in this park than we’ve ever spent in a single day in any other park.
2) Because the lines weren’t so long, we were able to relax and enjoy family time together in between rides rather than rushing off to the next one.
3) The “big” rides are spread throughout the park, so we ended up going around the full park several times.
4) The theming for the park is very well done.
5) We didn’t see any shows or attend any demonstrations or go on the cave tour. Doing those things could have been another full day, or could make one’s park experience very different than our ride-heavy itinerary.
6) Despite the heat, we had a great day at Silver Dollar City. And we agreed that if the heat was what kept the park from being crowded, it was a good trade-off.

Roller Coasters, thrills and chills and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

By Lynda G |

Our family visits Silver Dollar City every time any of them come to Missouri, we love the roller coasters, the friendliness of staff, the entertainment, and if you come during a holiday period, you will be dazzled by the lights and displays and music--This is a wonderful park, and as west coast folks that usually go to the big park in So Cal, we have found a lot about Silver Dollar City to be superior to the House of Mouse.
On July 8th this year, nine of us traveled the 90 minutes (each way) excited to get to the park. We purchased 9 tickets and 6 fast passes. After riding 3 rides (fast pass was only used once) lightning strikes in the area forced the closure of rides. We ate (surprisingly good chicken fingers!) and waited around, watching the storm clouds gather. A decision was made to leave the park, and we inquired about refunds for the tickets and fast passes. We were very disappointed that the information given in the park was not honored at the customer care desk, and we left the park in a deluge. We did have a really fun time getting soaked in the tram on the way back to our vehicle, but the experience left a very sour taste in everyone's mouth. A sad and disappointing review was left here on Trip Advisor by a family member--that did generate an invitation to contact SDC and discuss the situation. Phone calls were made, and we ended up being referred to ROBYN, in the contact center and
Happy Ending!! ROBYN corrected the misinformation we had recieved and offered refunds for the fast passes and even for the ticket purchase price! ROBYN's professional, caring and kind response restored our faith and love for Sillver Dollar City! We will be back!!
So go for the rides (the coasters are FANTASTIC, enjoy the lights, the wonderful shopping, the music and watch crafts being made right before your eyes, enjoy the feeling of stepping back in to a different time (don't forget the Cave tour!) and be confident that the people who run the park aren't just chasing your wallet, they are invested in you having a great time and wonderful experience!! Thank you ROBYN! See you soon! Lynda

Something For Everyone Here..

By Tina S |

This theme park exceeded our expectations. I am so glad that we waited until November to visit because we were able to get the full Christmas effect. Now I am totally ready to go back home, put up my Christmas tree and spread cheer throughout my neighborhood and community. In fact, I was literally crying on the train ride when we came to Grandpa’s house. I won’t spoil the details, but this experience makes no bones about the true meaning of Christmas…. Just how it should be! I like this theme park better than Universal Studios and the Disney parks in Orlando, Florida. The roller coasters are amazing too, especially Time Traveler. Terrifying!

Catering to a private company not all customers

By septsunseeker |

Always love going to SDC and do so multiple times a year every year. My family was very disappointed on Saturday when we visited and things were shut down to accommodate a private company’s visit. Yes they paid you for their employees but what about the rest of your customers. Sad!!!

Worst Theme Park Visit — Complete Waste of Time & Money

By Debbie S |

We were so excited to visit Silver Dollar City, but honestly it was one of the most disappointing theme park experiences we’ve ever had.
The park was insanely overcrowded — especially during holiday or weekend times — and it felt like there were no limits on the number of people allowed in. We spent hours in line just to ride ONE attraction. Some ride waits and food line waits were easily 1–2 hours long. Only to have the ride unavailable even with Trailblazer passes. Foot traffic was terrible — you could barely walk anywhere without bumping into scooters, double strollers, wagons, and people blocking narrow walkways. For the high ticket price, we expected so much more. Some guests in our group only rode two rides the rest didn't ride any rides. This should have been a fun day, but we walked away annoyed, tired, and feeling like we wasted our money and time. If you go, avoid peak times, plan for long waits, and maybe spring for fast-pass upgrades — otherwise be prepared to spend most of your visit standing in lines.

Christmas Lights at Silver at Dollar City

By Kathie C |

We went right after Thanksgiving. It was very cold, but it was magical. The Christmas lights were beautiful.

Lights were great, that's about it

By Christine M |

Lights were beautiful, and not trying to be a Karen, but they only had outlaw run, thunderation, fire in the hole, flooded mine, and a few small kiddie rides going when we were there, which made for lines to be extremely long. This was our experience with rides; we waited for outlaw run for 2 hours, fire in the hole was 1 1/2 hours, flooded mine was almost an hour, thunderation was almost an hour, but then that line was down to 10 minutes after 7, so we rode that a few times around 7:30. Train wasn't running until 6, so we hopped in line then and waited until almost 7. Just a bummer, and we were only able to get in a few rides with all of the waiting and lack of rides being available, but the kids really enjoyed walking around looking at the lights in the evening, and the funnel cakes are really good. Glad we can say we saw the lights, but definitely a one time thing in the winter.

Park Fun

By Ashley |

In thought it was different than places I have been! I loved the little shops there! We road a few rides that was enjoyable for us! The firework show was amazing at the end of the night! I would recommend someone to go at least one time to see what it is like!

Great for the entire family

By shell80psu |

We decided to visit Silver Dollar City twice during our stay in Branson. We had a great time both days. The park was clean and the rides were fun and thrilling for our teens. We frequent amusement parks and have to say the food is pretty good at this park. We loved the sausage skillet. It was fresh made and tasty. There were lots of options for food throughout the park. The ride wait times weren’t bad except for the new Fire in the Hole which was 90 minutes. We had heard this ride was opening on Saturday and were super excited to see it opened early and we were able to experience it before we left. Another thing that really stood out was the employees. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. We were always greeted with smiles and everyone was pleasant. If we lived much closer we would surely have season passes to this park!

Outlaw Run NOT okay

By Catt P |

I love SDC, I grew up in Branson and have gone there many times over the years. I’ve never had a bad experience until now. We rode outlaw run once when we first got there and it was great, then decided to ride it again at the end of the day. Once it got to the top of the first steep incline and started to go down, it felt like the whole coaster jolted. My neck FLEW back, and I was not only terrified but also immediately in pain. I tried crouching low to keep it from happening again. But then at one of the next jolts it whipped back again. It was extremely painful and we left the park immediately after. This ride has no headrest and no support. I have no idea what happened this time or why it was so jolty, but we won’t be riding this one again. Definitely be mindful if taking kids. For reference, I’m 5’5 and around 125lb.

So much fun!

By Christine S |

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! We brought our 18 month daughter and 7 year old son. I was hesitant because of the toddlers age but honestly we had a blast. You can spend all day there and not ride rides, even though our son loved the log ride (I forgot the actual name). So much to do, love the free water bottle fill ups. The park was so clean, everyone who worked there was friendly. The fact we could stay 6 hours with a toddler speaks for itself. We definetely plan on coming back when the kids are a little older

Over Priced

By debrashurt427 |

The Christmas light are great, but this park is too expensive for what you get. A lot of rides and other things were closed. Food is crazy expensive and not very good.

Fantastic Christmas experience

By Tourist29343893834 |

It was beautiful with all of the lights and the huge tree. We saw A Christmas Carol and it was an amazing production. We also heard a couple of different groups play & sing. We plan on returning next Christmas.

Do your Research before you go to Silver Dollar City !

By Anthony |

I've been a loyal visitor to Silver Dollar City for over 50 years, and this recent trip marked my first disappointing experience. Branson and Silver Dollar City hold a special place in my heart, filled with countless cherished memories. As a season pass holder who typically visits once or twice a year, I was caught off guard by the new TrailBlazer Pass details for 2025. Had I known about this beforehand, I wouldn’t have renewed my season pass this year. According to reports, "Silver Dollar City implemented the TrailBlazer fast pass system, offering front-of-the-line access to select rides, in 2025."

During my half-day visit on a Tuesday, I managed to ride only two roller coasters. Wait times averaged over an hour and a half, with the TrailBlazer line getting every other loadout, leaving those without it—like me—stuck waiting longer. The TrailBlazer pass, a single-day add-on, costs an outrageous $85 per ticket. If this were Disney, I might begrudgingly expect such a cash grab, but for Silver Dollar City, it feels like a betrayal. In my view, they’ve traded their Midwest charm for corporate greed.

My advice? Do your research before buying a season pass or planning a trip. What was once a beloved destination has, sadly, become a letdown. I’m deeply disappointed.

Harvest festival did not disappoint!

By Renee B |

We did the Harvest Fest tour of foods. It was delicious! We should have gotten just one pass as was do much and we shared. We gave our other pace to another couple we met as we were exiting. Hope they enjoyed as much as us!!! Plus we all the vendors and crafters. So many talented people!

Awesome experience

By Lynn R |

We loved all the lights at Branson. It was beautiful. We loved the show Coming Home for Christmas. A Christmas Carol was awesome. The saloon show was entertaining. We loved the light parade. The train ride was fun too.

Amusement and water park

By Holly S |

Lots of shade trees, which in a park is a big deal in the middle of summer! Fresh, made from scratch food options (as well as premade stuff like chicken strips) lots of ride variety bring water friendly shoes for half of them though then head over to water park on the same pass

Overall rating Excellent!!

By william c |

Silver Dollar City is always a big hit!!! Lots of walking but lots of fun also. Our grandson really loved it.

One and done

By J T |

Very busy! Big crowds. Expensive food. Mainly shops. Only a few shows but the Home for Christmas show was very well done and enjoyable. The fudge is not made on site which is a very big disappointment. Probably won't be back.

Branson July 2024

By cindy s |

They had an internet special 2 days for one day price. Well worth that.
Branson has gone up on prices for attractions and most go carts ar governed down from 35/40 to around 25 mph. Expect to pay $25 to $40 dollars just to do one attraction in town. Unless your camping and cooking at camp, expect to pay at least $20 or more per person per meal. And that does not include any steak places.

Memories worth repeating again and again!

By nyguy73 |

SDC continues to do things with excellence, and it shows in the rides, the food, the festivals, and through their staff. It's definitely an investment to go, especially with a family, but this should be at the top of your Branson planning list!

Ozark adventure at SDC!

By Wandering Badger |

The most exceptional theme park I've ever visited! Old time feel to the place with lots of authentic stores, crafts, saloon shows etc. but also with awesome rides! We rode every coaster there and they were all amazing. There is something here for everyone. We LOVED the family feel to the place. Just hope we can visit again one day. Thanks for having us!

So Much Fun

By Linda R |

Great park with something for everyone. Would definitely go back because we only saw about half of the park. Very clean and some great roller coasters!

Well worth the money

By Cindy L |

Great shows! They are very good at moving lots of people, parking was better than I thought it would be.

This will probably be our last year to attend the park.

By Michael S |

We are increasing disappointed in the staff who work the tickets/customer service. We have purchased Diamond passes for the past year. We have NEVER had a seamless entrance into the park without some kind of computer issue. How can a park that makes this much money have such a POOR computer system. Employees are less than cooperative. The photo passes sound great but I can almost NEVER get them downloaded from the website and there are no phone numbers to contact. Unless you can tell them and exact site and all the people in the picture, etc.... you are out of luck and cannot even fill out their forms requesting help!!! This will probably be our last year!

Values guests as long as no problem

By Caroline P |

Great until there is a problem. Then customer relations (positive) disappears. So disappointing. And the happiness contact info? That takes you right to reservations. They seem uninterested in guest experience

Had fun

By JEAN T |

We stopped by Silver Dollar City on our way home from Branson. We enjoyed all the crafter that was there. We loved seeing the cool stuff they made.

One thing I want to say is that I wished they had a different price for people who can't ride the rides. I think it's crazy that we paid $105.43 to walk around the park.

The saloon show was awesome. We had a blast watching it. We also watch the music with the Christian singers. It was so nice to see that you have wonderful people doing these shows.

Great theme park! (Besides employees)

By Cheese M |

My family gets season passes for SDC and White Water almost every year. While I say the rides and attractions are good the employees are a bit rude sometimes. I remember last time I went for my birthday and lost my niece. I went and found someone to call my father and she was mean! She rolled her eyes while I was crying trying to find her. Also sometimes the waiting lines are ridiculous but it’s whatever. I understand sense it’s a busy park.

Great park

By miller78us |

Great theme park with fantastic rides, food and shows. Especially love the tasting passports. Let's you try so many good food options

Just Ok

By Denise M |

We enjoyed the Blue Grass Festival bands we heard here; but other than that, & while this amusement park is ok for families with children; & there are shops to peruse & rides to go on; though some were under maintenance so weren't open yet :( - this park is WAY OVERPRICED for what it is!! Think of it as a mostly Western themed; scaled down version of Great America.

Everything inside the park after the entrance fee, is ala carte - food, etc... if you're a season ticket holder there are discounts; but if this is a one-time visit - you're going to drop a lot of cash here; & again, it's not worth it! And if you have children added to the mix; yikes!!! Kids were enjoying themselves; but there are other places in Branson that may be less costly.

Literally, THANK GOD, while standing in line to purchase tickets, in our case senior ones @ $79 + tax a piece; two sweet local ladies gave the 4 of us three of their guest passes. We only had to purchase one ticket & split the cost. We appreciated their kind gesture SO much. If we'd have paid the full price for us; it would've been way too much paid!!!

Too being there in May, while it was busy, it wasn't too crowded. As hot/humid as summer is this would be difficult to enjoy in the peak times; overcrowded, hot, etc. Be aware the paths around the park vary & include some hilly terrain to navigate.

Also, the parking lots are huge & vast. While we walked from the parking lot, there are trams available to transport people to the main gate. That was nice. And besides the Blue Grass music, we enjoyed watching artisans demonstrate their craft, as well as the train ride & its "hold up."

Enjoyed the free crispy cream donuts every morning

Great place to visit, many shows to choose from, Unfortunately the fall colors this year very dark brown, due to extremely dry season.

Great Trip!

By Jennifer |

Can’t say enough good things about Silver Dollar City. Our teen boys enjoyed everything from the roller coasters to the old time photo shop. We had a large group and all of us had a great time.

Pros:
- Park is very clean
- Lots to look at and do even if you are not riding the coasters.
- Trailblazer (aka fast pass) is a MUST! Longest wait time with it was 5 minutes.
- Can trade off who uses the pass. It’s logged by scanning your phone.
- Food was good. The Tator Twisters and Tator Smash was a favorite.
- Get the daily drink cup for $19. It’s totally worth it!
- Can bring drinks and a small cooler.
- The candy brittle was amazing hot off the table in the candy shop.
- Food prices were reasonable.
- Purchase pickup available at the front. This allows you to buy things and they will take them up front to store them until you leave. Very helpful!

Cons:
- Prepare for a lot of hill walking. I mean a lot!
- Cave will delay or cancel if there is lightening in the area due to lightening traveling underground faster than above ground.
- Can’t watch most of the rides as you can’t see past their entrance.
- Staff was not the friendliest. Not just 1, there was several who seemed like they needed to go home.
- You don’t have to walk to the Plaza for fireworks. You can see them from the parking lot right outside the park entrance.

Overall we give it a 5 out of 5. Very great time for all!

Christmas Time Must!

By Monopoly_J |

Christmas in Branson is always a fantastic time. If you want your fix of Christmas lights then visiting SDC at Christmas is a must for you. SDC had something for the whole family. The rides are great and the shows are top notch. Pair all of this with good food and a fantastic theme and SDC is a wonderful stop for any trip to the Branson area.

Mostly enjoyable

By Julia C |

Specifically attended the Christmas Carol holiday musical show. Also, let my grandson ride kids' rides. Saw the Christmas parade. Enjoyed the Christmas lights. Lots of walking up and down hills. Food at the burger restaurant we tried inside the park had been cooked quite sometime earlier in the day and was not enjoyable. I'm guessing that when the park is busier the food is refreshed more often.

Spend your money somewhere else

By Jamie F |

I have been to all kind of amusment parks all over the country and most i would recomend this is not one of them this park is over rated and over priced this one is a waste of time. America,s #1 park yea right

Not worth it at full price

By Richard L |

If you were looking for a Knotts berry farm type of experience then Silver Dollar City will give you that. We attended there in November, and so the Christmas lights were already up. The lighting was spectacular. Everything else was so so. Many things were closed for the winter and so when we went there was not that much open.

Great family park

By Explorer291854 |

When going to Branson, this is one of the top attractions, so my mom and I went. It was during the Harvest Festival, so it had all kinds of carved pumpkins, which was really cool. At night it was all lit up. We had a great time walking around and looking in the shops, saw a show in the Saloon, rode a rollercoaster, and listened to some music. The train ride is lots of fun. The park has a nice mix of things to do. We wanted to be there at night to see it all lit up, so we got there at 12:30. I was thinking that would be too early, and we wouldn't have enough to do until it got dak, but we did. It didn't even feel like we had spent eight hours, and we didn't even do the whole park or go on many rides. Definitely gotta go here if visiting Branson. I heard it is especially beautiful at Christmas time with all the lights.

Best experience of the year

By Jim K |

Wife and i spent the opening thursday and friday of the Christmas spectacular the beginning of December. It was absolutely amazing. Yes it is hilly and for two old retired people that was a little challenging but well worth the workout. Spent opening till closing both days. Saw many performances. Ate great food. Met so many wonderful people from all over the country of all age groups. Everyone was there to make the season merry

Christmas lights

By Lori K |

We haven't been in about 6 years. We went the weekend after Christmas (Friday). Arrived when they opened, left around 7 pm. The crowds were insane. We stood in line for an hour to see the Christmas Carol (it was fantastic!). Stood in line again for food from a stand for an hour, then stood in the side of the walkway for 45 minutes for the 10 minute parade. We both agreed the lights were beautiful! One store worker was not a very nice person...she informed the person she was waiting on that she was ready for January. The guy directing traffic by where we were standing for the parade was hilarious!!

Family Reunion drink and meal package is worth it

By HuskerTraveler2 |

Our extended family of 17 bought the Family Reunion package which included unlimited non-bottled drinks and a meal - we chose the sit down prime rib buffet at Molly Mill's which allowed us to reconnect and relax a bit before returning to the rides and shows. This package deal was perfect for our crew ranging from 9-70 years old.
There are virtually no public water fountains, the drink package was a lifesaver.

Best theme park in America!

By MGum |

Doesn't get any better than Silver Dollar City!
An Old Time Christmas is by far the best Christmas event in the country.
The lights, the parades, the shows; they are all so magical.

Yes, it can be crowded, but that doesn’t ruin the fun!

Don’t believe the negative reviews. They are all obviously by people that didn’t plan and they are all from nearly 80° days in December - of course the park is going to be packed on such amazing days in December.

This is the best theme park in America and the popularity will cause some crowds, but it still 100% with it.

Thrilling time

By Jessica S |

Wonderful amusement park. Attractions were clustered together nicely. While it was a lot of walking it didn't feel like it before you were at the next ride.

New favorite theme park

By Curt C |

Silver dollar city has a great theme and fun rides. We spent all day there and rode lots of rides, but the park did not seem too large. It was enough to keep us busy all day without being overwhelming. Many unique places to shop and eat.

Not a place we'll return to

By iafamof4 |

Not what we were expecting. The sheer amount of people is a complete turnoff. There was no one telling people how to get in and out, no directions, no nothing. Admittedly, a weekend at Christmas time you would expect it to be busy, but this? Absolutely a ridiculous amount of people. They need to have some sort of cap on the guests they allow. If you're there to see the 6.5 million Christmas lights, you'll have about 10 million people seeing them alongside you! Also, this time of year, it seemed like they were short staffed. That didn't help either. The lines to get food were more than a half hour long, and out of 3 places to order, only 1 was taking the orders. Also, not everything seemed to be in working order. It just wasn't at all what we expected. The Christmas lights are pretty, if you can see them through all the people. I don't see us ever returning, because crowd control was atrocious.

Family fun

By Bob S |

We love Silver Dollar City because of the family-oriented atmosphere. You never have to worry about inappropriate entertainment if you have children with you. Lots of rides and shows. The food prices don't seem to have risen with inflation as much as those in restaurants, so they don't look as bad as they used to. Just be warned that it seems as if you're always walking uphill!

Best park we have ever visited!

By BaronVonL |

We have been to many parks across the USA hundreds of times. We were surprised by this park. We loved the feel of the park. The layout was unique and interesting to explore. Food options were outstanding. Rides were fun and will maintained. We loved the artisan and craft booths. So many unique shipping options. Staff were attentive and friendly. Truly one of the best experiences of our lives. We want to go back already.

Rides for all ages

By Jason W |

Our day in the theme park was overcast with a chance of rain so this may have reduced the attendance. With that in mind, the parking was easy. The park has a shuttle that is convenient to ride so paying for premium parking doesn’t seem necessary. There does seem to be rides for all ages. The park was clean and with good food options . The park app was helpful to locate food and it showed ride wait times . There is an option for a digital picture pass that lets you collect all pictures taken on the rides and in the park, only one pass is needed for your group.

A Happy Place

By Olivia H |

We are both seniors, although we did not go on all the rides, except the train, we enjoyed all the shows. They were also having the Harvest Festival which was great. We would go again, You must allow a full day there

Need revisions to ticket agents

By GoPlaces17803051907 |

In reference to our visit on 5/28/24...Very nice employees overall, but they really need to train their ticket agent on attitude & how to do their jobs. This person was extremely hateful almost immediately (seemed to be mad at the previouscustomer). When she didn't understand what we were asking she talked very degrading to us, mumbling while calling us names, & kept pointing the scanning device at our eyes like she was "trying" to annoy or use as a weapon. She Just up & left, then went in & out the back door of the ticket booth, kinda threatening. Really abnormal odd behaviors, imo. Finally Just leaving us standing there after asking her name & if management could help.
She had her name tag covered (for obviousreasons), but we could see her name started with a M, I think. I also posted this discrete pic, w/o face, so management can hopefully identify her. Very disappointing to pay almost $2800 season passes for our family & not even be able to get someone competent so we can get our seasonalbenefits, mugs, etc... I don't want to go back. A bad start to our day. Not even close to what I expect from SDC

Pure Magic!

By Earl E |

Silver Dollar City anytime is a joy. At Christmastime it's pure magic! When they advertise "over 6 & 1/2 million lights" they're not kidding! Magical!! The shows & music on property are fabulous - special shout-out to "A Christmas Carol." It was incredibly professional!

One of the best kept secrets in the Midwest!

By Jackie P |

One of the best theme parks in the midwest. It has something for everyone. Craft and pumpkin festival in the fall, Kids festival in the summer and the most beautiful Christmas festival in November and December. You have to see this place!

Not Worth the park ticket price

By Scott E |

We visited Silver Dollar City October 18 2024.
$198 for two people (one day) tickets. In my opinion, too expensive.
Food was reasonably priced.
Artisans we’re mediocre at best.
Some were above average, but many were what you would find at a typical art and craft show.
Ride lines on the roller coasters, and train, we’re the slowest moving I’ve seen in any park I’ve been too( and I have been too a lot of parks).
One of the coasters was not open at the beginning of the day due to staffing issues. The people waiting were told this by ride attendant, and a sign was posted with that reason. Mabey they need to staff better, and/or cross train to prevent this ??
I was in line for outlaw about an hour and 30 minutes. When I made it into the train station, they closed ride due to technical issues. I don’t have an issue with the technical issue. The issue I had was line was not that long that it should of taken that long. They were allowing fast pass customers to continue and go, then the regular line never moved.
Seems like the regular paying customers are the majority, and should not be treated as second class.
Washrooms dirty. Never witnessed anyone cleaning.
Park maps , and directional signs were misleading , and not clear. Getting lost is easy.
If this park wants to make you wait 2 hours to get on any roller coasters, Mabey they should build the coasters so they are worth the wait, and longer in duration than 90 seconds to 150 seconds for the amount of time you will be waiting.
Could of been just a bad day for them , but they still took my $198 for two people.
Yours truly,
Your travel voice for amusement park experiences.

For the high prices they charge they need more workers

By J W |

We've been to Silver Dollar City many times and what keeps it from being the best amusement park is they don't hire enough workers and that's a shame since they take us for every dollar they can. We KNOW how many riding cars you can put on Thunderation, Tine Traveler, Fire in the Hole etc. yet on the most crowded days they only run one riding car instead of the other three or four. Heck, these are right in front of everybody standing in line and it's frustrating when it could be faster for everyone. Show some class and hire enough people!

Excellent #8132

By Jeramie |

We’ve visited Silver Dollar City several times over the years and we are typically always satisfied with the ride selections and shows. Our visit in May did not disappoint. The Marvel Cave tour guide, Tory, was especially good! It’s truly satisfying that they continue to artfully blend the past with the present. The shows and demonstrations stay true to tradition while the rides continue to be popular with those looking to thrill seek. Also, we enjoyed free parking during our two day visit.

Terrible

By ktfarm87 |

SDC is not what it used to be, too crowded, too few workers in the food places and they are not one bit friendly. We didn't get to ride the train because they started the train rides at 4 pm! Some of the rides were down and the lines too long. A lot of the food places were closed, but they don't tell you all of this when you are paying an arm and a leg for tickets. Money is all they care about anymore. I can find better places to spend my hard earned money. The shows are like Broadway type not the country/western like it used to be. The 70s and 80s were their last glory days.

Staff needs to be training on ASD and other disabilities

By Michael T |

We took our twin girls to SDC, they had a program set up for people with disabilities and since our daughter has ASD we wanted to take her for a treat since she had finished at her developmental daycare and was going to Kindergarten. The first day was hit and miss. A lot of the staff seemed to think that since she didn’t have a visible disability that it could be ignored. At one point on the hot air balloon ride we were intentionally ignored and forgotten about by staff members multiple times and when we asked about it they said we would have to wait because we didn’t have the pass to cut line. We understood that this was not a pass to cut the line, my daughter has issues with waiting in lines with a lot of people and we don’t mind getting a time to come back if that is the case which is supposed to be what they do for us. Instead she had to watch people get on and off which caused a meltdown. Then the guy who relieved him forgot her as well. Some of the staff were very friendly and like I said some seemed to not understand something they can’t see. We had several meltdowns a lot of which were avoidable. We got the two day pass and planned to return the next day, unfortunately there were severe storms the following morning (including hail and tornado warned storms). We called to try to get a rain check they told us we would have to bring everyone up there and stay for 90 minutes, before they will issue a rain pass. We tried to explain that bringing our daughters out when it is thundering and lightning and extreme rain was not going to work (it was hard enough getting her from the hotel to the car). They refused to assist further so I went up to the park, parked in the parking lot and was drenched while walking to guest services where I spoke with an employee who seemed helpful until Katie the “manager” took over to not only eliminate what good rapport I had with the first employee but completely kill any good experience that could come from the situation. As I explained the situation (for the 10th time between the park and customer service) Katie interjected and said that everyone had to be present and have their tickets scanned at the gate. “I am the manager, that’s our policy and there are NO exceptions” I then explained again that it was hard enough to get our daughter in the car with the rain even with an umbrella. (Imagine trying to take an angry cat to your car in a downpour). Eventually after Katie got off her power trip and called her boss and explained the situation, it was taken care of with rain passes issued, after so much unnecessary frustration. I say unnecessary frustration because while waiting I heard Katie tell another guest that since it had been raining since the park opened they were issuing rain checks without waiting the 90 minutes. So why was my party any different, I guess because I wouldn’t get my disabled child out of the car to prove to Katie that I was not lying? We spent over $400 for this awful experience, and they weren’t able to credit us back for the extra day because it was purchased through a 3rd party my employer uses. So for neuro typical you may have fun but if you have neuro divergent children - 1/5 would not recommend.

Harvest Feast Silver Dollar City

By Bri A |

My first time experiencing Silver Dollar City. Visiting during the month of October for Harvest Feast with the most perfect and memorable experience! Absolutely loved it!🍁🍂🎃

Clean, cave tour is great, lots of rides shut down throughout the day

By Sara S |

We had a good time, but there were many rides that were temporarily shut down throughout the day. The first ride we got in line for we had to leave because it was shut down. So, we went to the new Fire in the Hole. It was only 20 min after they opened and it was already shut down. We never got to ride it because after that it was a 90 min wait. Another roller coaster my husband and son had to leave the line because it was shut down. This was very frustrating! I don't know if this is typical or because they had recently opened for the season. Perhaps tickets in the beginning of the season should be discounted while they work out the kinks. The cave tour was excellent though! The cave was beautiful and our guide Brian was excellent! Definitely recommend!!! I was impressed with how clean the park is and they have some unique roller coasters. We might have to give the park another try a different time of year.

Best theme park…period.

By Sheldon M |

Best theme park…period. Family friendly to the 10th power! Never worried about young ones seeing untoward behavior!

Wonderful Christian based theme park.

By Ralph W |

I have been to Silver Dollar City many times. It is beautiful there. The landscaping, the cleanliness, the friendly employees, good food, shows, rides, crafts, shopping, and more. It is a happy family place.

Costs too much

By NotFondOfRed |

We had a great time. Pumpkins everywhere! Beautifully decorated and great weather. However I have to agree with other reviews, there should be a lower price for those who don't ride the rides. Paying for something you don't need is unnecessary.

Silver Dollar City Visit

By Terry R |

Excellent theme park to visit for Christmas. Good variety of shows, however would like to see a change from previous years. Many photo opportunities throughout the park. Concerned about future prices with the addition of an adjoining resort planned in 2026.

Practically Closed - dark

By Cruiser579328 |

We went to the Fall Festival on Saturday. Most of the stores, attractions and food vendors were closed. The majority of the park was dark. It was not a great experience at all.

THIS IS THE BEST PARK IN THE COUNTRY, COMING FROM A FLORIDA GUY!

By Mrbucketlist |

This is hands down the BEST THEME PARK IN THE COUNTRY! I came here all the way from Tampa Florida. I enjoyed Dollywood so I figured I'd love this park as well. I was not wrong. It was amazing! The cheap buffet at molly's mill was great. The rollercoasters were fantastic. The atmosphere is just perfect. I highly recommend this park to anyone who is near the area or anyone who enjoys theme parks.

Great Park but Too Crowded at Christmas

By Amusementparkguy |

A friend and I have been to this theme park several times before. Most of our visits were during the summer season. We were here once six years ago for their Christmas celebration. We enjoyed it very much and planned a return visit for this Christmas.

The park staff is very nice. They are professional, friendly, and helpful. The park is beautiful and well-kept. It was clean. The rides are very good. The Christmas decorations and lights were excellent. Over six million lights are now part of this celebration.

However, unlike our December visit six years ago, this visit was not a good. More people have discovered the beauty of this time of the year. The park was SUPER crowded. I have been to their sister park Dollywood during Christmas time, too. It is another beautiful park whose Christmas celebration has grown. Employees were overheard saying that the week between Christmas and New Year's is a "hell" week as they are super busy.

We had a two-day ticket, and both days were very crowded. At one point, you could not move down the midways as it was wall-to-wall people from one side of the midway to the other. A couple of the roller coasters were only running one train, increasing the wait time for rides. Some of the wait times for rides were two to three hours. The food lines were crowded, too. It took almost an hour to order a hamburger and get it. The line for the restroom was close to 15 minutes at one point. In the parking lot, vehicles were parked all over. The designated spots for cars were full, and people were parking in the grassy areas or along side the parking lot. The management obviously let too many people into the park.

This is a wonderful park that should not be missed, but I would NOT recommend a visit over the Christmas break. Too crowded. It makes the atmosphere of the park less enjoyable than a summer visit.

Harvest Festival in October is Great

By mysticark |

October is the best time of year at Silver Dollar City - wonderful fall weather, beautiful decorations, (pumpkin plaza was spectacular) and wonderful crafts and gifts for the upcoming holiday season. Even if you don't like rides because you're a senior citizen, this is still a fun place to visit. Just beware that there are lots of hills and uneven surfaces to walk on. I had a mobility scooter which was a huge help, but you still need to be careful. We had a great day there.

Terrible customer service

By Lisa N |

I have never been to Silver Dollar City. However my Debit card was charged for over $700 dollars of services at this resort. When I called they were not helpful. No one could even tell me where the charges were made. The charges happened at 4:05 AM in the morning. I was home in New York state no where near Branson, MO and I had the debit card with me.They only suggested I call my bank and ask them to refund the money.

Don't need medical assistance.

By Joan S |

Had a great time at this wonderful attraction, until it was time to leave. The shuttles were full so they brought a tour bus to transport customers to the parking lots. The steps were higher than normal and when I came down I fractured my tibia. I feel they were delinquent in not having a platform step at the bottom and someone there to assist departure. I have been on numerous shuttles at various locations country-wide and they always have someone offering their hand to help you off, regardless of age or gender. I didn't find out till I was at the ER that the park has an ambulance on stand- by during open hours. I was disappointed they didn't offer any medical assistance.

Step back in Time!

By Kristina L |

Always fun!! Plan to stay the whole day. Wear comfy shoes. Bring water shoes for the ride. Watch the craftsman, especially Glassblowing.

Our Favorite Amusement Park

By A J |

If you like amusement parks… Silver Dollar City is a MUST especially during the Christmas season! My husband and I enjoy walking through the park covered in Christmas lights, looking at all the decorations, listening to the live Christmas music, shopping at the stores and watching all the smiling families.
My young adult kids… hit every roller coaster and snack shack throughout the park. It truly is a great place! Something for everyone!

One and done

By Mom2b1g |

After reading the reviews I was expecting a more old time experience with more professional shows. As others have said the signage could be better. The food was better than most amusement parks. We got hamburgers and they were very good. We also got a funnel cake to split and did not finish it due to size. It is a good one time experience if in Branson.

Great for all ages!

By Travel to eat |

Awesome. Fun for all ages! Our family traveled here- my husband and I, along with our sons ages 15 and 6… everyone had a great time!! The entertainment available for all age groups is impressive!! We all had an amazing adventure!

Fun coasters and quality shows.

By Water Fan |

We hit the rides first and then went to see “Going Home for Christmas” musical that was fun and done by talented singers and dancers. The “Living Nativity” was also good.

Only suggestion for SDC is to clearly mark each area of the park with signs, not juat what is in the next area. The map was very difficult to read without having a master list of the stores, rides, and venues in numeric order.

Step Back in Time

By Eliz M |

Silver Dollar City is a very fun place to go. They have excellent shows, friendly staff, great rides, and it is all in a wonderful atmosphere. We really enjoy going there and getting away from the world.

Underwhelming

By Jill G. |

We recently attended as part of the Summer Nights promotion. Did we have fun? Yes. Could I imagine paying full price? Absolutely not. I was disappointed to find that all of the demonstrations and nearly all of the shows didn’t continue past 5 pm, so that took away a lot of the experience. We also waited in line for The Time Traveler, which had repeated delays, and we finally bailed. We were able to ride other coasters with minimal wait times, however. We ended up doing Outlaw Run after dark, and that was a real “hot zinger” according to my husband! The food we had was fine—nothing spectacular. The signage wasn’t great, and the app wasn’t useful in providing directions. If you’ve been to Disney, this place will disappoint.

We wanted to make good memories.

By Don |

Our family of 14 gathered from 3 states to celebrate Thanksgiving in Branson. We gifted our Silver Dollar day ($1500.)which included 2 strollers, preferred parking and Tasting passes for everyone. Park employees did not have a gracious spirit. Generally 2 employees per food kiosk, so the lines made it difficult to use the Tasting passes. We were excited to see shows, but hour wait lines in the cold rain ( no cover) ate away our day. The hours were 1 PM-9 PM. The steam train did not operate until late in the day. (an hour wait). Our littles got on 2 rides. Only one Christmas Parade? Take a hard pass on this experience.

Great family fun!!

By Connie M |

Silver Dollar City is a must if you are planning a Branson trip. We go to Branson a few times a year, so I purchased the Diamond season tickets from both myself and my husband. With the extra bring a friend tickets and anytime tickets that's included with the diamond ticket, we were able to bring four other family members for free, then purchased two more tickets for twenty dollars a piece which was another benefit. It was another fun day for our family.

Enjoyable

By Isabella F |

As someone who gets motion sickness on rides without medicine, they were really good. Besides the wooden coasters, the roller coasters were smooth sailing. They had plenty of food and drinks, and the park theme is so cute. They also had fans and a couple spray fans.

I truly could not ask for more!

By David G |

The sun came up today
And I dreamed I,m on my way
To a small exciting place
Where there,s no limit on time or space

The eagles soar far above
As the dew shines off a schrub
I am very thankful here today
By enjoying life,s adventures in every way

I yelled a hoot and holler
Down at the old Silver Dollar
My favorite Sara is singing
And the place is really swinging

The concert was the best
And the day ended way to fast
I truly could not ask for more

Thanks SDC and Sara Evans
You,ve inspired me.

Great park

By Safari55437806019 |

Awesome park with great food friendly staff and awesome rides outlaw run in particular is insane and i recommend a vist when the park is open late.

Good, but not great.

By Jen. Miley |

Having been to SDC multiple times in the past, I was eager to return. There was pros, and there were cons.
I'm a military veteran, and while I appreciate the single day discount, travelling to Branson to fully enjoy SDC requires more than one day, especially during a festival and kids who want to ride all the rides. To be able to extend the veteran discount to more than one day would really help veterans (especially any disabled veterans who take longer to get around the park) to fully enjoy the park.
We went on a Sunday/Monday and while we thought Sunday was busy, Monday was even busier with school groups in attendance.
I'll say as a huge fan of the old Fire in the Hole, I was disappointed with the remake. It felt rushed, and couldn't really hear the story being told. From someone who use to ride this ride over and over again, we only rode it once, especially after standing in line for over an hour.
The Mystic Falls upgrade was AMAZING! We didn't expect to get as wet as we did the first day and were unprepared. We came prepared the next day and fully enjoyed this wonderful ride.
Half the guns on the Flooded Mine didn't work, and there weren't enough guns for riders.
The kids' favorite rides were Outlaw Run and Time Traveler, but Outlaw Run won because of the long wait for Time Traveler.
When it came time to eat lunch on Monday, the places we visited were out of half the food we wanted and the kids had to go somewhere else for food.
The app is great, and accurately reflects wait times, however, when trying to place a mobile food order, it glitched and crashed so we had to wait in line.
All in all, a good experience, but with some disappointments along the way.

Always a positive experience

We went to SDC in 1978 for our honeymoon and have gone almost every year since. We do the late go today and come back tomorrow. First day basically do the cave and maybe a show / food. Next day focus on rides. They did mug refills on glass mugs we bought in the 80’s. This is the only theme park we truly trust rides have had properly been maintained and safety checks done. Enjoy walking back in time.

GREAT

By eric_mehrkens777 |

I don’t normally leave reviews but in this case I have to. Silver Dollar City was awesome. Great rides, great food and just a great experience. It was 90+ degrees and yet we could handle it because of the amount of shade provided. We came to Branson from Wisconsin to do alot of stuff….I’d make the 9hr haul just to go back to Silver Dollar City.

Great EMT response earned them an extra star!

By James T |

I was going to rate this 3 out of 5, but because of great EMT response when my grand-daughter fell ill to dehydration, they earned an extra star! Here are pros and cons of this place:

Pros: great EMT response, lots of shade, lots to see and do for all ages, many shows, lots of thrill rides for thrill seekers, good deal for multi-day passes.

Cons: park map needs updating, signs are confusing, some rides are too jerky (eg. Thunderation), difficult to navigate around park, expensive (although not “Disney” expensive), too many unenthusiastic park employees, some rides are undermanned.

Christmas at SDC

By 1966Airstream |

We like to go to Silver Dollar City, especially at Christmas time. We enjoy the atmosphere and the shows. The food is pretty good too; the types of things we don't normally eat so it makes it more fun. We bought a tasting pass and we were disappointed this time. We have bought them in the past and thought they were worth the cost but this time we did not think that. Most of the items were got with our pass were just small tasting portions. For example, the soup was not even a cup's worth of soup--maybe half a cup. Just enough to wet my appetite. I know it says that on the pass but in the past we have received pretty good sized portions. And after our experience this year at Dollywood with their tasting pass we were disappointed in SDC's. At Dollywood, all the items are full-sized portion. But the Christmas lights were very nice to see and we enjoyed the lighting of the big fir tree new this year. We have seen the production of Dicken's Christmas Carol multiple times so we did not see it this year; they could use a couple of new shows at Christmas time. But, all in all, we had a good time. (Side note: the free parking is great--that was a main complaint we had with Dollywood; having to pay $25 to park after paying so much for the ticket to get in! Please keep the free parking SDC!)

Christmas Getaway

By Rachel A |

Seems to never change things up same things and shops yr after yr! Food was terrible at 2 different places, no flavor and the pork was way over cooked and dry with burnt pieces! We went for the lights and parade but parade was short and out dated! The toys on Santa float where old and dirty! Seems they need to revamp and get some new characters & costumes! A lot of money to walk around and see the same thing u seen for the past 10 yrs! The tree was beautiful and worked amazing with music!

Had a great time enjoying the fall colors and atmosphere. Everything was enjoyable. We were able to visit at a leisurely pace. Had fun.

Fun!

Educational and fun! Perfect for our homeschooling family. I love that they have church service and hymn singing. Enjoyed the glass blowing. Clean, wonderful employees, lots to do. Even if you are not a ride person, there is plenty to do.

Incredible Theme Park in all aspects!

By Hollie C |

Silver Dollar City was our first Park on our Theme Park roadtrip around the US and we couldn't have started at a better Park. The coaster line up is great, the food fantastic, theming impeccable and the shopping is wonderful. The thing that truly makes this park stand out is the staff. Every single member of staff we spoke to were so friendly and interested. The biggest shout out to Silas and Bryan who are ride ops on Outlaw Run. They made my day even more special and are a credit to SDC. Although a long way from the UK, we would definitely come back again, for more time next time!

Traditions not worth the price jumps.

By jbrum |

My family has been coming to SDC for nearly two decades, anywhere from October to November and have loved having this tradition, but it looks like that is coming to an end. Like many we have noticed the decline in quality and service coupled with an increase in price. The year over year jumps in price is no longer worth it, which is sad. I understand the desire to be like Disney, but it is not us. We will miss our traditions of the Lost Mine ride being the first thing we do we will miss the snell of cinnamon rolls ( which are just not good anymore), we will miss the candy making, glass blowing and sitting in the old school and church. Just not worth the price anymore.

Ridiculously Overcrowded

By pkittredge |

Ridiculous and Horrible experience. My husband, his brother and sister-in-law and I went to Silver Dollar City today. We decided to go after 5:00 pm and enjoy some shows and harvest festivities until closing. It was extremely packed, so overcrowded we were shoulder to shoulder. We literally could barely maneuver through to get places. The food and drink lines were equally overcrowded, 40 people in lines. Why would you allow that many people in at one time? How can we enjoy the park with such thoughtless action? Obviously, allowing so many is for the benefit of making more money, not to make our experience nicer. The park was so poorly lit that we couldn’t see what anything was until we were on top of it. We had put up with it enough after 2 hours so we left. We paid $40 each and basically rode the train. Really sad. We had been in Branson three days enjoying Dogwood Canyon, shopping, good food and had one more day to spend before going home. We chose Silver Dollar City. We were extremely disappointed. We will not be back!

Leaving Our Silver Dollar City Era

By Vanessa H |

Way too many people in the park. Could barely walk. Many of the concessions were closed and only one hot chocolate stand open for the tree lighting. One worker. She barely spoke and never smiled, but who could blame her! We couldn’t get photos near the tree due to the professional photographers set up with their hand out for even more money. The lines for the rides were several hours long. We came for the lights, we saw the lights, and we left 5 minutes later.

Total Waste of Time and Money

By Derek S |

God awful. Do not waste your money at this place. Waited in line at 2 separate rides for a total of 3 hours just for them to shut the rides down. Total waste of time and money. I will never be back. Spent 6 hours at the park and $400 worth of money to ride 2 rides.

Christmas delight

By John E |

What an amazing experience! Christmas at the city was so beautiful and an unforgettable family experience. Highly recommend.

WOW!!! Fun was had by all 10 family members!!!

By Mark G |

What a wonderful place to build memories with family and celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary the first week of June! We were greeted by Ky on the "people mover" from the parking lot to the main entrance! He set the tone for our day! We found that the staff throughout the whole park were topnotch - friendly and helpful! The winding pathways and trees gave the park a very adventurous setting to find all the demonstration areas and rides. The rides were exciting for the most daring roller coaster rider to those who weren't into wild and thrilling. When I called ahead of our visit to ask a few questions, the lady was very helpful and even mentioned that we could bring our cooler into the park. With all of the dietary issues in our family, this was perfect for our lunch. We went back to the parking lot and brought our cooler in and then returned it when finished. There were plenty of yummy snack places located throughout the park to meet everyone's needs and likes as needed throughout the day. As we departed the park with four grandchildren, four parents and two grandparents (us), everyone had a smile on their face and their "happy buttons" were pushed! This time Joe was on the "people mover" and finished our day with a positive attitude and created a feeling that we would want to return! Give Silver Dollar City a try if you're in Branson and be sure to bring the grandkids!

Not disabled friendly or flexible

By Rob Lippman |

In town on vacation. After doing some research, we realized that SDC is not very accessible for manual wheelchair bound people who are not in the top top shape as there are multiple hills to navigate. Our son, who uses a wheelchair for his medical diagnosis, was hopeful to be able to get a souvenir from SDC anyway.

Since so many amusement parks have gift shops outside of park exit/entry, we called ahead to ask if this was the case at SDC. Sadly SDC keeps their first shops behind the gates. The manager informed us there are not exceptions to allow any visitors into the gift shop only.

We were surprised that SDC could not accommodate a 15 minute request from a disabled visitor with an employee escort. We understand this is a business — but a lack of hospitality to allow us to purchase items from a business that isn’t able to accommodate any disabled children or adults in a flexible manner seems short sighted.

Fantastic

By PAM Y |

The Christmas displays were amazing. This will really put you in the mood for Christmas!! The shows, food and parade were all wonderful, but the decorations were over the top beautiful. I would highly recommend a trip to SDC for Christmas.

A fun trip for all ages

By Kylin J |

I live around 45 minutes from SDC and tend to go quite frequently with my family. When going I suggest downloading the SDC app to see wait times, food stalls near you, and a map of the park. Overall pretty fun and beautiful around christmas

Fun time!

By Ronna H |

The whole family enjoyed a fun time at SDC. There were shows and crafts for the older members of the family and of course the teens loved the roller coasters.

Beautiful park but heed the warnings about it being very hilly & not easy to navigate....

By Rita J |

The park is beautiful and there's lots to see and do. However, we were warned and should have listened to previous reviews concerning how hilly it is. We thought it would be OK because my husband is in a motorized wheelchair. (I totally discourage anyone going in a manual wheelchair!!!) But even with a motorized wheelchair and the rest of us being very mobile even in our 60s, it was challenging for a number of reasons. First...it was difficult to know where we were and how to get to specific place. The newspaper type map we were given was practically useless. Even using the app, it was still difficult to get from one area to another because of how incredibly hilly it is. Also there were not near enough directional signs to help us to know in which direction to go for certain attractions. And we did not see many park attendants to ask for help. Therefore, we probably saw only 1/3 of the park because it was so difficult to navigate and got frustrating. Also, we went on a Wednesday (before Memorial Day and the regular summer season) and there were many of the crafts people not working. Also, we expected a much more exciting ride in the New Fire in the Hole, but it was a disappointment...(maybe we should not compare with Universal & Disney). But Time Traveler was a great thrill ride. Another bonus is that there was a lot of shade available. All in all, we only stayed from 9:30 to 2:30 and paid nearly $100 each. Although a beautiful park... in our opinion, it was not worth it and we were disappointed.

Christian Theme Park lives up to its name

By rodger b |

For over 50 years I've been coming to SDC. A safe, friendly happy and inviting theme park. I think it's the best in the entire country. Christmas IS the time to go with popular shows, lots of singing and dancing. Some rides are open but in December, it's less about that and more about family and faith. Christianity is EVERYWHERE from the people who work there to what is sold. Old craftsmen at their trade selling their wares. Food is good too but high! I recommend a backpack. We bring in dinner (Subway) and then allow ourselves a snack or treat. Also, arrive early as they will let you in before the scheduled time. We bought SDC mugs and those have been good since 2011. Refills are only $2. Newly bought run about $4.50. We also skip "Preferred Parking" and walk in. No charge! Wear good, comfortable shoes too. A favorite stop-off for me is the Wilderness Church. How many theme parks have a church??? Zero! I also try to attend a service and if not, still go to pray. 6.5 million LED lights is one of the most gorgeous visual settings I've ever seen! it just draws you back time and time again. Thank you Branson and SDC for keeping a great product.....great after so many decades. We will be back....again.

Bluegrass and BBQ Festival

By George B |

We came for the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. We have been here 3 days...terrific. We highly recommend it. Great music, great food. Great venues, terrific park.

Best Amusement Park

By Michael V |

SO SMOOTHE... even though it's a 155 foot drop...

Our daughter found some nice rings at the store where the artisans make rings from old silverware… from the handles.

The following is based on a single afternoon in 2023, but it is similar to what we experienced in 2010…

The park has a good number of guests during the day, but the lines for the rides are not too long.

It appears that there is a larger crowd arriving for the Christmas parade, ~ 5pm, and for riding the train after dark - that line looked quite long… so just plan ahead to get in line early and/or expect to wait - the train ride was great and celebrates Jesus’s birth

- - -

We'll see you again, soon, Silver Dollar City!

Great Bluegrass and BBQ event

By Thomas W |

Silver Dollar City brought in some great Bluegrass pickers for this event. We just went from venue to venue listening to all the performers.

Drone Show---The Best!!!

By 1966Airstream |

We really like Silver Dollar City. We also appreciate their different festivals and the different shows they have for each one. Some of the shows are the same throughout the year and as good as they are, it does get tiring to see the same thing each time we go. But getting to see different shows is great. Some of our favorite shows to see--Spoken 4, Chris Stanley and David Howarth. We are not much into rides but they have enough rides for those who like them and they are always busy. We enjoy the food at SDC too. They have a good variety of things to choose from and always things that you can't get anywhere else. We were there for the Summer Celebration and we able to see the Fireworks & Drone Show which was very, very good. The drone show was done beautifully and we were amazed at how it looked. It was so good that we went back the next night just for the Drone Show (we had season passes).

Ineffective map makes experience challenging.

By Gord T |

The millions of Christmas lights were worth the admission price. We are not able to assess the rides, (old age and vertigo) but the shows we were able to attend were great. We were unable to attend all the shows in our available day . The map provided was inaccurate and the building numbers were unreadable. We found shorter distances between show areas after walking back to the entry and down a different path. By the time we got to the show they were full.

One of the most FUN places to visit for all ages & interests!!!

By Ken |

We had not been to the City in nearly thrity years. It has changed a lot but also has some of the same charm which always drew us in the first place. There are still lots of corny comedy routines in the park, getting robbed here and there by the local bad guys but always rescued by a good guy or gal. And the craft demonstrations are still second to none (glass blowing one of our favorites). Then there are so many food choices to help make the day both interesting and fulfilling. The roller coaster keep growing as well, as our adult children really enjoy them. Last year for Fire in the Hole, which I rode as a teenager in the 1970's. Again, lots to enjoy at Silver Dollar City!!!

Steal Your Dollar City

By Donna G |

All I am going to say is this place is ridiculously overpriced. We absolutely love SDC, but not only is the price steep to get in for a family of 4 but then it cost us $100 to eat lunch there. With drinks throughout the day it was easily a $200 day, and thats not including the extras we purchased. When they say Steal Your Dollar City, they arent lying. Its unfortunate we probably wont be back for quite some time. It was 7 years the last time. Its sad they have succumbed to the terrible high prices they are asking. Suggestion would be, charge less to get in and people may actually purchase more inside. Or charge less for food and drink since it is a necessity. One of the pics I posted was a steak grilled cheese sandwich, and was it amazing even though it was $14.00 just for the sandwich.

Very disappointing

By Mi B |

Very disappointing, we didn't get to ride one thing due to wait times in triple digit minutes on rides. Most of the rides were shut down. Wait time for a hot chocolate 30 to 45 minutes. Staff unfriendly and overworked. Food mediocre. This is a pure rip off and not worth your money. Will not return, nor will I return to Branson.

Horrible

By Vanessa M |

Horrible. Didn't get to ride any rides due to breaking down. Food was horrible and staff was rude. Spent all day waiting for rides not getting to ride any.

Season passes are a blatant con.

By john u |

Bad faith business operations. You are tricked into buying a season pass that you can't use for 5 months. If you buy a season pass in November, from any other theme park chain, it is good for the remainder of the current year. SDC doesn't even offer the current year online, so this is a blatant tactic. Bad faith business operations, and they know it. I drove over 8 hours to get here, only to be told to come back in March. They have a captive audience, so what do they care?

was worth a day

By LESA H |

For my 3 grandsons, it was awesome. They loved the rollercoasters for sure. My only issuer was that very few booths were open, especially the food courts. There were many closed up shops.

So Fun!

By Makayla C |

I love Silver Dollar City! It has so many amazing rides and games to play! This theme park is such an attraction! So many people were there and it was crowded a little bit, but my overall rate for this place is 100/10

Must do family fun! There’s something for everyone to dog shows, fireman town, roller coasters, craft demos etc.

By carolyn |

Like going back in time 100 years. There are craftsmen, music, shows, rides, food, beautiful scenery, and lots of photo ops.

Amazing theme park in the Ozarks! Just Beautiful!!!

By Bose2 |

We've been to Dollywood a couple of years ago and Silver Dollar City is its sister park, so it was fitting to come here. It's an awesome park, with great staff, ambiance and charm. It's very clean and well organized, the coasters are unique and the setting is superb. The stars of the show are Outlaw Run, Time Traveler and Wildfire. Outlaw Run is unbelievable at night, it's one of my best night ride ever on a coaster. Powder Keg is fun and unique if a bit rough in some spots. Thunderation is very brutal and rough, it should be removed. There's lots of shade and trees which is a relief during the summer heat, which can be unbearable sometimes in Missouri. The food was delicious and fairly affordable, which is much better than your usual theme park fare. The underground Marvel Cave is unique and worth the wait & visit for any first timer here. The clientele is very well behaved and everyone is polite, it's probably the most polite and well behaved environment I've ever seen at a theme park; and I've been to many. On a final note, the park is very Christian and religious, we are not particularly religious but did not feel out of place or uncomfortable at all, but it's an aspect that might turn off some people. It did not bother us. If there's one negative item that I could note is the wifi and app for the park did not work well both days we were there and the park was not busy. This is a minor detail, but something that the park could look at for next season. I absolutely recommend the park, it's a top notch destination park.

Overpriced

By Sonja B |

The Christmas lights were fantastic! That being said, I found SDC to be way overpriced for what we saw. The show venues were extremely small, if you managed to get a seat at all. (Show up an hour early to guarantee a seat!). The seating at the Saloon show was so crowded you couldn’t move once you got seated. There were very few craftsmen actually working when we were there. Maybe a visit in warmer weather would be more enjoyable, but for a ticket price of almost $100 I expected more than restaurants and gift shops. I will not go back.

Disappointed at Christmas

By JMC0708 |

We went to Silver Dollar City mid-December.We anticipated that it would be crowded, but it was too crowded to enjoy the park. We bought the tasting pass, but it was too crowded to use it. We were able to see one show and it was wonderful, but the lines for the other shows after that were so long that we would have spent our entire time in line. We stayed for the Christmas tree lighting and we got out of there. Next time, we will spend our time and money elsewhere. Disappointed to say the least.

Amazing experience. Thanks to Jessica at SDC

By Grayson R |

Truly amazing experience. Thanks to the awesome customer service skills of Jessica. She brought any warm smiles, and did an incredible job in blessing everyone around her with smiles. Not only is she incredible customer service, but she is some of the best management I’ve observed in years. Jessica really made our experience an A+ and thanks to her when you coming back to make mini more awesome memories

Fall Great time to Visit

By Lawrence W |

A great amusement park with a great variety of rides and marketplace vendors. We took advantage of the refill cup and taste menu. Well maintained and clean property. The staff was always helpful. We had one lady walk us several blocks to an attraction that we we looking for. My only complaint is that attractions are not clearly labeled on the map or in the park.

Unexpectedly good experience, excellent theme park

By jerryskc |

I'll be honest in stating that Branson is not really my cup of tea as a holiday destination, BUT we spent a very enjoyable Labor Day weekend here including Silver Dollar City which is the first time I have been to this theme park. I have limited experience of similar places outside of the Orlando experience, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed what SDC has to offer.

It pays to get here early. One can park well before the attractions open and this will get you closer to the entrance and this is worth it. If you don't, or can't, pay for VIP parking you are in for either a tram ride from the parking lot or a lengthy, uphill walk. We chose the latter and there were kids already complaining about how their feet hurt before they had even made it to the park! Be aware of this should you choose to walk up, and take good note of where you left your vehicle. There are none of the "Mickey Parking lot Row 5" signs you see at Disney and I saw more than one soul wandering the parking lot in search of his car when we were leaving.

The park was busy, but surprisingly didn't really feel very crowded even though this was Sunday of Labor Day weekend. It was a hot day which makes the water rides more enjoyable and these are very good. I think it pays to head straight for the Rapids ride should you wish to ride it because it is furthest from the entrance and one can work back from there. It is the best rapid river ride I have been on but this, along with the other water rides here more or less guarantee you will get soaked. The park has thoughtfully provided locker stations before these attractions, but each has bins where you can put your loose items before riding, and pick them up at the end. It works very well and has been thoughtfully designed.

I don't ride coasters any more, they give me motion sickness but there are several here and those in our party not afflicted by weak stomachs like me really enjoyed them. Wait times were very reasonable which is good, because the "line jumping" pass you can pay for struck me as very expensive. And this isn't a cheap park - cost os north or $450 for our party of 5 but this included entry into their sister water park closer to Branson which made for much better value and I think is only available online.

The park is clean and there are lots of friendly "cast members" or whatever the equivalent name is for SDC to help you out. There are shops aplenty but they let you bring your own food in which is what we did so I can't comment on the standard of the food which was also available inside. It's a fun place for sure and I enjoyed it much more than I expected to. They have really thought about the experience of their guests, for example the roller coasters have viewing areas which allow you to see your braver compadres enjoying their thrill ride whilst you don't have to! I haven't seen such specific areas delineated at other parks.

Also, despite this busy weekend, it didn't feel too crowded which makes for a great day. You should be able to get to all the rides you want if you are here all day but, as always, if you want to ride the most signature attractions, it pays to go early and get your ride in as the lines do increase in the afternoon. It was a great few hours for us, we really enjoyed it and I would definitely go again.

Not for everyone

By crpete |

We’ve been explaining it to others as Disney set in the 1800s.
Pros:
The kids (11, 13, 15) enjoyed the rides.
My husband and I enjoyed the demonstrations.
Well done overall,
Once you are in, you could easily enjoy the whole place without spending any additional money.
Lots of shows, shops, demos with clear easily understandable schedule, even for us newbies.
Lines were fairly short when we went in mid-Oct on a Monday.
My husband who enjoyed it as a child said lots of it was quite nostalgic while also new things added - they’ve done a good job incorporating new into the traditional stuff.
The food is pretty good overall.
Even though it’s “off season” when we were there, everything was open and going except a very few minor stands.
Plenty of parking with shuttles going to get you back and forth!
Can bring in wagons, strollers, food, etc.
Cons:
It’s very on-point socially for the area/perhaps the theme could be updated a bit to reflect the changing social values.
If you aren’t a big fan of the following, it may not be for you:
-Guns (less actual shooting than previously I’m told)
-America (pledge of allegiance AND national anthem in opening ceremony)
-Christianity (even the comedy show ended with some New Testament references)
-fair food (at least that’s what we call it - turkey leg, funnel cake, ice cream, chicken tenders. French fries)
-hills (it’s the ozarks, there are plenty of hills)
-Boomers (as my children call them)
-Spending loads of cash : we didn’t sit down for any served meals but managed to spend well over $250 on food for the five of us. Not to mention the ticket price just to get in.
-general unwelcoming to diversity (coming from a racially diverse city was a bit of a culture shock to my kids who claim they’ve never seen so many old white people in the same place. Not sure I’d have been comfortable if I were an ethnic minority.)

Good bluegrass music at a wonderful place.

By George B |

We went for the day for the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. Very good music from all over the country. Great BBQ ribs too. We try to go every year.

Charming amusement park. Cute attractions park

By akela_415 |

A fun place, with good attractions and a visit to the caves that is something you don't expect. It is very Christmas themed. You have free parking and a little train that takes you from the parking lot to the park and vice versa.
A funny place, good attractions and unexpected visit to Marbel Caves. A nice environment in Christmas.
Free parking and free train from/to parking to park.

Fun For The Whole Family!

By Chad |

Family Fun for All ages! The rides, , landscaping, entertainment, & food create memories you’ll always treasure! It is strikingly similar to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, but it has more shade. The only thing better at Dollywood is the fireworks show at night. I was excited about the new “Fire in The Hole” coaster this year and while it had some great features, I thought the reboot was a little underwhelming. But I do appreciate their nostalgic intentions.

Silver Dollar City = Family Fun and Great Food.

We love Silver Dollar City. We buy season passes every year and travel from Fort Worth TX. two or three times a year to spend a week in Branson and go to Silver Dollar City every day. We love watching all of the Craftsmen our favorites are the potters and the glass blowers. The food choices are the best you can get in the theme park world, the hand made peanut brittle is amazing.

Wonderful staff! Great day

By GR0926 |

Wonderful visit today! Every interaction was positive. Great cave tour-Isaiah!!
Cloudy & cool with the threat of rain so the park was empty. We rope dropped to Fire in the Hole- so no wait.
Longest wait was 15 min all day! This allowed us to do the whole park except shows in a day.
It was the best amusement park experience we have had this summer -we have been to Hollywood studios, Sea World, Six flags, and Kings landing.
The prices were very reasonable compared to those other parks. Food, drinks & gifts were similar to any restaurant outside the park. It made us happy to eat and drink in the park when admission price was a reasonable value & food was reasonable.
Everything was clean, we only saw trash spilling out of a can at the thunderhead ride, otherwise super clean and pretty flowers everywhere.
Really, it’s the friendly staff who really seem to like their jobs that made the day! We asked for directions a couple times and stopped random workers and they were happy to help. Thanks so much!!

A fall visit!

By JWill21 |

We enjoyed visiting during the fall festival! (Even though it was extremely hot for late September). There were a lot of different craft booths set up and it was nice to go to SDC for the shopping. We did not stay until it was dark, but the amount of pumpkins they have is crazy and I’m sure the nighttime experience is wonderful. We have season passes this year and enjoyed our fall visit.

Best Theme Park!

By magi616 |

Where to begin? We went during the Harvest Festival which was so cool! The park turned into a Halloween lovers paradise! The decorations where so well done, I love how Silver Dollar City goes hard into it's themes, makes this place really feel special.

The coasters where awesome! They even had a few smaller kids could ride, my 6 year old is now a coaster lover because of this place, the Powder Keg being her favorite. The Mystic River is the best river ride I have ever been on! Marvel Cave lives up to its name and is a great way to start your day in the park.

The food was great, special shout out to the bakery near the entrance. The festival that start in the evening with all the dance and was truly a kids and parents paradise!

I will never miss an opportunity to visit. Can't wait to go to the other festivals they have through the year! If I lived near by I would be a season pass holder with no regrets!

Mostly for the young!

Don’t take elderly guests unless they can stand and walk A LOT! There’s no place to sit even around food kiosks. No drink lids unless you buy the SDC mug. Fun rides tho.

Beautiful Christmas Lughts

By Escape33030294547 |

The park is beautiful at night with Christmas lights and different places to grab a bite. Beware though that when temperature gets to 40 degrees or below ALLrides besides the Sing-A-Long Train stop.

Regulars who love this place ❤️

By Cody Guthrie-Jendro |

My husband and I are season pass holders here for the third year in a row. It’s the best amusement park around. You can ride the coasters one time and spend the next time exploring the shows and the stores.

You must go!

By Tara S |

Such a nice day. It’s hard to know if you’ve seen it all bc of the turns. I loved Silver Dollar City as a kid in Tennessee but it’s no longer there so it was a treat to see and do things from long ago. Also enjoyed the new things too. We are in our 50’s but still rode many things—Mystic Falls was lots of fun! We plan to go again this week.

Always have a great time

By DayTrip811645 |

Went for the harvest festival. Loved the decorations in the kid land. Food was better this time. Love the rides. For non-riders there was lots of crafters and demonstrators to look at.

Our Branson fam trip

By Kari A |

Our 3 kiddos who are 15 and above went together and were there when the park opened. As I had seen in other reviews, the park had most of the rides shut down and were not available right away even right when they opened. They stood in line for one ride only for it to shut down right before they got on, They were not able to get on a ride for at least 1 1/2 after the park opened. After that, they had a better time and did eventually get on all the rides they wanted to. They did feel the ride wait times were typical for a theme park and overall they had a great time.

Exciting rides, great atmosphere, family friendly

By newuanda |

Very busy the day we went and also a day that had the least open hours but it was also the only day that we could go. Arrived 2 hours early and got great parking. Trams were not running yet so we walked to the gate. We were hoping to do Marvel cave right away but they were not going to start tours until an hour after the gate opened. Fun to go while all the Christmas decorations were up. We did wait quite a long time for every ride we did; minimum wait was 45 minutes, we waited up to 90 minutes for one ride. We saw a few shows. The food we purchased was fresh, tasty, and not overpriced.
I noticed on the rides that we had to wait a long time that they only had 1 coaster going where if they had multiple coasters going the wait would not have been so long.
Very family friendly all around.

Beautiful

We went to see the Festival of Lights at Silver Dollar City, Branson Mo on 12/7/23. Million of Lights, It was Awesome. We had never been before to see the lights. It was So Beautiful, I highly recommend going.

Go to Silver Dollar City for Christmas

By stldebbie2008 |

Finally fulfilled my dream of seeing Christmas at Silver Dollar City. The lights are beautiful. Making sure you see the lighting of the tree. THE best show was Coming Home for Christmas.

See the cave, listen to the Dawson Hollow band, and fun rides!

By Roving12242443056 |

You MUST see Marble Cave while you are there! Vivian was a fantastic guide - she has great timing of some jokes as well, but really knows this cave very well.
The rest of the amusement park was fun - my wife doesn’t usually do rides, but we went on the “fire in the hole” indoor roller coaster twice together! The train ride was kind of disappointing, so you can skip, that one. I rode the Powder Keg Coaster, and it was great fun!
Watching the 2 glass blowers was a treat as they created a handled pitcher and a handled glass mug while we watched. Working together, they were just so skilled at their craft. Blacksmith was also cool.
Watched the band Dawson Hollow, and they were very good, playing their original music. (I play in 2 bands myself), google them to find their music. Very accessible. They really were very entertaining. Great vocal harmonies, acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, keyboards, violin (and sometimes fiddle, if you understand!)

Branson vacation 2024

By Kelly S |

Our grandkids 7 and 9 had a blast. We had to explain all of the "old time" things they saw, so it was a bit educational as well. It wasn't to crowded and they were able to ride a lot of rides.

CANT MISS!

By Darin |

Silver dollar city is great for everyone! They have THRILLING rides, EXCITING shows, and DELICIOUS food! Not only do they have adult rides they even have rides for the children and they are not your typical “carnival like” rides. They’re awesome. Don’t skip a trip to Silver Dollar city on your stay in Branson!!

Super fantastic place!

By Jan T |

We love Silver Dollar City! We are coming back in September. We are seniors who are still working so we come when we can. We love the skillet food, hamburgers, and barbecue. We love the train ride. We love all the shows and usually see every one of them because we spend the entire day here. We love the glass blower, the blacksmith, the pottery demonstrations, and watching them make the candy and taffy. Everyone has been so friendly to us. We feel safe here and the place is clean and so pretty with all the flowers. We would love to see the fried pies come back or mile high pies and spaghetti bowls.

Disappointed that SDC doesn’t limit number of guests…

By Lori M |

We visited Silver Dollar City on December 27 and hadn’t been for many years. We were really looking forward to it. So we were very disappointed when we had to wait two hours for everything! I’m thinking there should be a limit on the number of people allowed in the park! WAY too many!! We stayed from open to close (10 hours) and never could see the cave. (3 hour wait times, after checking several times), waited in line for 1 1/2 hrs for a show and got crammed in like sardines. Only got on 3 rides. Spent 90% of our time there in lines. I would not recommend visiting at this time of year. Feels like we spent big $$ for not doing much but waiting. LIMITING entries might be a good idea!!!

Buy the fast passes

By Natasha M |

We visited twice this summer and had fast passes both times - this is absolutely worth it and I highly recommend it. With fast passes we never waited more than 5-10 minutes for any ride and most were walk-on. We did the entire park in about 8-9 hours. Their snack-type food is great but I don’t recommend their sit down/table service - some of the worst BBQ we’ve ever had.

No, very exciting. Don’t waste your money.

By Mobile31226054222 |

Not worth the value not of rides not enough shows, but the bathrooms are clean. The staff was not very friendly
I would never go back

Not for everyone

By joe-chicago-23 |

The Silver Dollar City tv ads imply that this is a place for everyone. Not true - if you don't like thrill rides, don't want to get wet, or don't come here with children, then there are few things to do. That said, for the right person it seems like a fine place to go with many roller coasters and shows.
The grounds are well maintained and clean. The hills are a problem because you cannot only walk downhill. The late 19th century theme appears on all buildings and stores. But the period costumes seem very fake when you see a crew member in costume talking on an iPhone.
The food tastes good, but sometimes comes out slow and lukewarm. The prices are high, but not as bad as other entertainment venues.
Use the free parking and shuttle trams.

Great family fun theme park

By xhelloworldx |

Visited here on a weekday in March with 2 young kids (3,5). Parking is free and a tram will take you to front gate. We stayed mainly in the kid ride areas (grand exposition and fire station). The kids had a blast on the rides. Unfortunately we went on a very windy day (30-40 mph) so many of the rides in the park closed except for the few indoor rides and the kiddie rides so we didn’t experience much of what silver dollar city is about. The food we had was great (burger, pretzel, pizza, popcorn). All the staff was very friendly. Because of the weather shutting down many rides and experiences we did get a rain check good through the rest of the season-which was super nice and accommodating of them to do. When we’re back in the area we will definitely be back!

Silver Dollar City is awesome!

By Charlie C |

Simply the best amusement park for families and people of all ages! From the rides to the entertainment, this is what good, clean fun looks like. Staffed with workers that really want to make your day memorable and always have time for a question! This is a MUST in Branson and even better to visit in the fall!

do cave tour

By NorthStar222704 |

Had a great time. Confusing to navigate, even with the app map, but everyone had a great day. Don't miss the cave tour if you are physically fit. Do it first thing!

Ripped Off with NO crafters selling their goods! We were told there were over 100 crafters.

By Connie H |

We were told by a lady in a winery that if we go to Silver Dollar City, go at 5:00 because it is cheaper! So, we went at 6:00, paid preferred parking and went into the park all excited to purchase from the crafters, and NONE were open except for a guy selling walking sticks! We were extremely disappointed! This is the only reason we went to this park, and were really let down. What a waste of money!

Silver Dollar Saturday

By katherine j |

Visited this old favorite for a couple of hours. It was nice to reminisce as I spent time here as a kid 40 yrs ago..brought my son as a child and returned with him as a 36yr old adult.
The flowers and grounds are beautifully maintained. Employees were helpful and kind.
Now with a disability the terrain is harder to manage so we limited ourselves. No longer able to manage the cave, we just reminisce about when we could.
No longer able to do more than a ride or two but grateful for staff attempts to help.
Missed the shows due to timing but enjoyed the chapel and buildings, Shops ,people and food.
Overall, great experience.

Christmas Lights at Silver Dollar City

By Rebecca F |

We planned this trip to include Silver Dollar City to see the Christmas lights. Silver Dollar City never disappoints. In addition, there are dining choices, rides and shows. The shows we saw were all top level. Depending on your visit, it could be busy with possible waits on some of your choices. Parking can be another concern, depending upon your day/time of arrival. There are shuttles available.

Fun times

By Katrina B |

There are so many things for kids to do they can play for hours. I enjoyed the food and shows also. Great place for a family to spend time together.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Silver Dollar City.

By ponyexpresstown |

First of all, let it be said, that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Silver Dollar City. However, I had not visited during the Christmas season before. We went on both December 27th, and the 29th, 2024. And it was extremely crowded. The lines to ride rides was extensive. So we just chose to enjoy the lights that first eve. On Sunday, the 29th, after adjusting our goals, we decided to make seeing shows our goal. The Christmas Carol performance is excellent. Try to arrive at least an hour in advance if you'd like to get in. Additionally, to avoid such heavy crowds, we were advised to come between November1st when the Season begins and Thanksgiving, before the kids are out of school. We were also told that weekdays are much less crowded.

Having season tickets in 2024, we found all the other visits in May, August, and October to have very manageable crowds, and we had a wonderful time! Also, we recommend the refillable cups if you plan on going 3-4 times within the year. I am also a fan of the Tasting Passport which costs $35 for 5 food items. However, for the best values (as some portion sizes are not standard size), see the Facebook group, Saving Your Dollars at Silver Dollar City where a guide of the Tasting Passport can advise you to how to maximize your passport.

I wanted this to be a great experience but there were just too many people. Spent $200 to see 1 show &ride 1 ride.

By Janice s |

This park is beautiful especially all decked out for Christmas. The problem was that they do not limit their numbers, so there were way too many people!! Waited in line for hours to ride anything or see a show. Then the ride we were waiting 30+ minutes for, broke down. We never even made it to some areas of the park. Total disappointment. I really think it could be a great experience but they should start limiting the attendance like Disney does.

Large people

By Voyager66093244876 |

Silver dollar city is awsome, but for over weight people it is sad you can't ride most thrill rides. I don't understand why they don't put larger seats for us.

Ridiculously crowded! Don’t waste your money!

By Sarah C |

There should be a maximum number of guests allowed, or they should drastically reduce the maximum number allowed in the park. Lines were so long I’ve ridden one ride in 5 hours. We wait all year long to take a family vacation and spend lots of money to come here. The park is so crowded just navigating to the ride takes a ridiculous amount of time only to get to the line to wait another 2+ hours. Our kids were so excited about this trip and have asked all day to leave. So, so disappointed.

Amazing day

By NW748 |

We had the greatest day at SDC! The weather was perfect and the crowds were low. Great roller coasters - time traveler is the absolute best. We got the food passport which was nice to try a variety of foods (not sure if the value is the greatest though since portions are smaller, but would probably try it again). The park is very clean and the employees are all very friendly. There are some steep parts to the park which may be difficult for older ones with less mobility. We appreciated the shuttle that takes you to the parking lot. Great way to spend the day in Branson!

Stop letting so many people in. If you cant walk, do not attempt.

By spyle31 |

Day after Thanksgiving crowd nightmare! Could barely move through the park. Rascal Electric scooters everywhere with no situational awareness. They stopped side by side right in the middle of walkways, entrances, and lines. Double wide strollers and over sized wagons with kids in them was no better.

You better spend the money for a trailblazer fast pass or your 2 hours in any line for a ride. 1 hour wait in every food line as well.

Avoid this place at any cost during this time. The lights and parade are great but not worth fighting an extremely inconsiderate crowd. Gentle parenting must be super popular in Branson Missouri.

For safety and consideration. Kids and adults that need strollers or scooters should not come here. Hills are steep and dangerous.

SDC, stop letting so many people in at once!!!!!!!!! It is rediculous.

This place is magical

By 2debrab |

We visited in September and November 2024. The fall is full of pumpkins. Unbelievable. The Christmas season is a must see. Being here really puts you in the holiday spirit. Absolutely gorgeous with all the Christmas lights. The play "Dickens a Christmas Carol" is an absolute must see. They will be adding a new show 2025. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Christmas decorations

By NStraveler |

Beautiful Christmas decor. If you are handicapped, you might need to know the paths in some parts are very steep and go down at a steep direction as well.

Perfect Day Trip

An amazing place to visit. Rides, restaurants, shows, theme of buildings ect were spot on. Workers were all professional and friendly

A Dickens' Christmas Carol!

By Jane S |

While on a girls' trip in Branson, we decided to watch the tree-lighting ceremony in Branson. It was fantastic!

Next, we stumbled upon the Dickens' show in the Opera House on Hugo's Hill Street. It was one of the best Broadway-style productions I've ever seen!

From the scenery to the special effects, the show was fantastic! Everyone in the cast was an excellent singer and dancer. I can't remember feeling so moved by a production. In St Louis, I see shows at the Fabulous Fox Theater, Stages, and the Rep, and this show was equally spectacular. I highly recommend it.
