My wife and I just spent the weekend going to six flags with her sister, husband and 5 year old niece and we all had a blast. Even though it was insanely hot outside, wearing our masks wasn't all that hard of a thing to do. My only complaint is that they don't really have anyone going around to enforce wearing masks. But other than that no complaints. This is my favorite six flags part within 3 hours of me so we go there a few times a year.

Worst experience ever. Flash Pass line was a 3 hour wait. They advertise that you need to buy flash pass tickets online, then you need to stand in line half the day with people who also have not purchased their flash passes. There are about 10 other ways to improve this system. Every customer in line was miserable. We will never return to this Six Flags. Make an app or a kiosk or SOMETHING.

This was the first time my teenage kids had eve been here and we had a nice day. Some of the attractions are historic( from park original opening) but there are plenty of new and exciting rides to enjoy. The cost is not cheap and when I asked my kids if I would purchase a season pass, would they want to come back again and they politely declined. The revamped safari truck experience was nostalgic and was a hi-light if the park.

Fright Fest is awful. We bought tickets for my daughter and friends for her 16th birthday for 9/14/24. The tickets specifically said included haunted mazes. In 9/13/24 I got an email saying it was turning into premiere weekend instead of the full fright fest so not all of the mazes would be open. My daughter was bummed because she wanted to see all of the mazes. The email said if we choose to wait to come after premiere weekend we would still be granted entrance with our original tickets even though the date is different. We went on 9/28/24 (and they claimed it was no longer a premiere weekend but still not all of the mazes were open apparently.) but we wouldn’t know because we were not allowed into the mazes. At some point the ticket prices and information on the website changed without notice and they would not let you into the haunted mazes with the tickets we purchased. They told my daughter that she would have to purchase a $40 bracelet on top of the ticket price to enter any haunted maze. Basically it would cost well over $100 per person not including any food for an event that is only open from 6-11pm. All without any notice!!! Only now it indicates in one place that you need a separate pass for haunted mazes but this is a complete change from early September when I pre purchased the tickets. Six flags is definitely lying and twisting things to make a buck. They ruined my daughter ls sweet 16 celebration.

Went to the Holiday Light Show last night. You drive through the park, so it's a nice and safe way to see the lights, however, I expected more from them. The trees in various areas are lit up and it looks very pretty, but that's all it is, trees with lights but certainly nothing that impressive. They have several inflatables and at a few locations they have people juggling or just standing around waving. Considering the admission price, I expected something more than decorated tress and inflatables. At the end, there's Santa in a globe waving goodbye. Young kids might like the lights, however, there are better places to see holiday lights (PNC or Dyker Heights in Brooklyn).

I had a great experience the first time I went to Six Flags. As a person who enjoys bigger thrill rides, this was a perfect place for me. Buying tickets before hand is a much better option than buying tickets at the gate. It is much easier to have the tickets with you on your phone than buying them at the park and waiting in line to buy them. Arrive at about 9:30 for the park to open at 10:00 am so the lines will not be too long.
I really enjoyed my first time there. The park is easy to navigate, there was plenty of parking, the lines weren’t long, and the rides did not disappoint.
The best time to go for shorter lines and a faster day is in April and May. All the kids are in school and skipping one day isn’t gonna kill you. However, the best time to go for the best entertainment is during Halloween time when the Fright Fest season is happening. If long lines don’t bother you, Fright Fest is definitely the most fun.
Six Flags is primarily a thrill ride theme park meaning it has multiple high intense rides so if you don’t like big roller coasters then Six Flags is not the place for you. But if you like Hershey Park, Six Flags is definitely the next best theme park to check out.

We bought the most expensive Flash Pass. As others have noted, there was long line to actually activate. Duh!! Then they didn't explain anything about it -- that there are separate entrances, that you need the phone to get on the ride, that you could have a bracelet if the rider doesn't have a phone.

My daughter LOVES theme parks and has been to many but this really soured her on Six Flags altogether.

The previous day we went to HersheyPark. It is awesome and a much better experience, almost Disney quality. Go there instead if you can.

The membership program is a good deal if you want to visit multiple Six Flags locations. That is what my son wants to do, so I got this as a birthday present. The problem is there a convoluted system for getting membership passes. You have to declare a “home park” and take vouchers to the park to pick up your membership passes. For people who live hours away from a park, this can be an inconvenience. To compound the issue, you need to have the passes to access your online account. If you cannot get to a park for a few months, you cannot access your online account. There needs to be an easier system to do this. I tried to get help for this issue and the only “real” people I could talk to was through the online chat system. Although the agents were polite, they are limited in their ability to help you. When I tried to call individual parks and the corporate number, I get routed through an automated system that keeps telling me to go to my online account which I can’t do because I can’t access it. When I finally worked through the automated system, I was redirected to a voice mail. I left voice mails with several parks and the corporate office and none of them returned my calls.

Expensive!!! $43 dollars to park, as much as a ticket for park. Chicken fingers/fries $17!! 2 of big rides were closed . It rained twice and everything shut down but then sun came out at 5 pm and they shut all the major rides down around 630 pm . It seemed at 7 pm everything was closing even though it says open till 8 pm. Doesn't seem like a lot there in choice of food, no sit down restaurants. It was clean though

We went to this safari last week with my 2 year old nephew. We had the worst experience. It was like a huge traffic jam, it took over 2 hours to basically get through a parking lot. What turned me off the most was that the animals did not look taken care of AT ALL! What killed me the most was when I saw the grizzly bear looking desperately for water as if he didn’t have any for weeks. He looked like he was in terrible condition and so so thirsty.

Please take care of the animals since they are the focal point of this adventure!

had a fun day buy alot of rides where either not operating of kept breaking down. very annoying. the important part is that my son had fun and was safe. the rides we went on where fun like always. having a membership is sometimes annoying. i am unable to add a season flashpass to my member ship since this is not my home park and we come here alot. they need to do this better

This was my second time visiting Six Flags Great Adventure, and it was just as exciting as the first. On my July 2025 trip, I enjoyed Flash Vertical Velocity (a recent addition and an amazing ride), Batman, Nitro, Roaring Rapids, Jersey Devil, Skull Mountain, Buccaneer, The Joker 4D, and Houdini’s Great Escape.

On my first visit in March 2024, I experienced Sky Screamer, The Joker, Harley Quinn Choo Choo Train, Nitro, Jersey Devil, Superman Ultimate Flight, El Toro, Medusa, Kingda Ka (once the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster), Batman – The Ride, The Dark Knight Coaster, and even played some fun basketball.

I was sad to see that Kingda Ka is no longer there, but I am excited to see what new ride will replace it. The park is full of energy, and having a season pass makes visiting very convenient. I would definitely come back again!

Had a great time, decently clean but very crowed. One ride was closed all day. Had fun. The rides were mostly smooth but the wooden one was bumpy.

the four stars is because i did not realize how much the place would cost to get water.

Had a really crappy day. Everything is money grab from the time you park your car till you get back in it. Now they are even making you get a locker overtime you get on a ride . $10 for two hours 😭.

My oh my where do I begin? Any normal person understands that there will be lines and waits at amusement parks during peak times. But how on Gods green earth is there a 2+ hour wait at Six Flags Great Adventure to pick up a Flash Pass? I went to the park tried waiting on 2 hour line to pick up my season flash pass. I walked out of the park after 20 minutes. At the executive level whoever is responsible for making the decision on how many locations the park has to service Flash Pass holders, should be FIRED & never allowed near an amusement park ever again not even on their own time if they bought a ticket.

Forget about the lines for the rides, the traffic, long lines for anything. But a massive wait to buy/pickup a Flash Pass? It is appalling and amusingly ironic that we need a Flash Pass for the Flash Pass line. The decision to only have a few spots to pick up a Flash Pass, hence the long lines, is not the fault of a 17 year old employee. That is a management decision and a human or a group of humans made that decision. Those people need to be FIRED. Create more tents, express flash pass locations. Call the tech guys in put up some tents and put more people on this. Poor Planning, poor management, we are not asking for something totally unreasonable. We are not asking for a new roller-coaster to be built in 2 weeks. We are talking about wires, some computers, tents & some crowd rope barrier thingies.

I am at this minute at this messy and lousy place.
There in only one restaurant open at 1pm for the entire park, exactly, thousands of people and one restaurant.
Is the ride with the longest ride!
Do not come here, it feels like a place that is about to go bankrupt

We had a great experience visiting the past saturday! After reading many reviews about the pains of the Flash Pass experience we were prepared to get there early and get set up as painlessly as possible! We were sure to purchase the Platium Flash Pass Online in advance and arrive right at park open at 10am in order to redeem it and avoid the lines (through out the day lines to redeem after 11:00am were well above an hour just to pick up the device). We were able to get the Flash Pass wrist band within 25 minutes of entering and started our day. Lines were long as the day went on but luckily with the Platinum Flash Pass it was never longer than a 10-15 minute wait for any of the coasters. The biggest challenge was the lockers for our items, do not even try to sneak a phone or keys into the line, the all day locker is $8 for the entire day and can be moved from ride-to-ride free of charge! We rode every major coaster, had time for lunch, snack, and even the safari before 5:30pm! The newest coaster, Jersey Devil Coaster, accepts the Flash Pass as well! Overall, if you are going on a Saturday expect very very long lines, and get the pass if you can it is worth it!

For those that live in New Jersey, the idea of going to Six Flags seems a bit antiquated considering some of the newer themed parks springing up around the Tri-State area. Why would you come to a themed-park that's been in your backyard since the beginning of time?

Well, you should, along with the complimentary tips for planning your visit:
1. Carpool, carpool, carpool. General parking is expensive, so make the best bang for your buck and get as much folks to go with as you can. Also, why not enjoy the park in the company of friends and family? With this being said, unless you have preferred parking or arrive to the park early, be prepared to have a little stroll from the parking lot to the security check point.

2. Bring lunch. Reentry into the park is a fairly simple process. If feeling hungry, and you don't want to shell out an arm and a leg for a meal, simply step out from the park for a quick lunch break. Nothing beats an impromptu lunch meal, after arguably a frantic first half of the day.

3. As you might imagine, the newest or thrilling rides usually hold the longest lines. With that being said, knock out King-Da Ka first. Although its the quickest and fastest ride, the prep and number of carts available limits the amount of people the attendants can push through. The newest ride, Jersey Devil goes surprisingly quick, but is super fun. Superman is chill and relaxing, while El Toro will hurt your body (prepare for a rough ride). Finally, the Dark Knight was a let down.

4. Is the Fast Pass worth it? I argue not, but this varies based on experience.

5. Arcades and Boardwalk games only accepts credit card. There are machines to convert cash to credit cards if need be.

6. Stroller/wagon friendly. If you have kids, wagons will be your friend.

Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey is a theme park within the Six Flags portfolio that ages well, and simply gets better with time. For clarification, Six Flags Great Adventure is uniquely the name of the Six Flags found in New Jersey - there are no other Six Flags in the portfolio with this name. Although Six Flags did not originate in New Jersey (origins in Texas), New Jerseyians can proudly claim that Six Flag Great Adventure is indeed the best and the provides for a great adventure.

Lets start of with pricing. The entry into the park does carry a bit of a hefty price tag, sitting slightly above average (averaging at $60 depending on day) when compared to the surrounding theme parks. Parking is an additional fee, so right at the door at least one person in your party is paying over $100. However, what you're paying for are the variety of thrill rides.

This is where Six Flags Great Adventure ages well and continues to succeed. The park continues to add new, exciting rides, and improving the areas of the park. Did you know there are live animal exhibits in the park? Coupled with moderate/mild and children rides, there is a great diversity in the amount of rides available, catering to all tastes and enjoyment, which allows this "backyard" venue to consistently deliver to guests.

The park appears a lot smaller now than it did when I was younger. Despite the small size, they are able to cram a ton of activities and rides within that space. Additionally, now that I am a parent, I have vested interest in the available entertainment for my children. Six Flags Great Adventure did not disappoint in this regard, and I am almost able to take my youngest (2 years old and 32") on a lot of the junior rides.

As mentioned, the arcades and boardwalk games only accept credit cards, however, they cash out decent quality stuffed animals. I counted over a dozen different boardwalk games, and two indoor arcades. Additionally, there are a variety of claw machines scattered throughout the park.

The quick and small character interaction that my family had while at the park was nice (pictures at the front entrance of the park). The staff and characters were extremely nice, helpful, and vibrant which was an added bonus since my children enjoyed them a lot in particular.

We did not partake in any of the food or shows during this trip to the park, but there were a few different food options available (not sure about the shows) keeping in mind that there are also events that occur throughout the year that present dining options that is not part of the usual meal repetoire at the park.

After this, Six Flags Great Adventure continues to hold the record for New Jersey's most fun themed park for adults and kids of all ages!

Not worth the money AT ALL unless maybe you are a teenager who can’t really afford much and lives close enough that it’s worth having a pass or going there for a day JUST to get out of the house. Nothing has even renovated in like 20 years AT LEAST. The food is terrible (they don’t even include FRENCH FRIES if you order anything, you’d have to go looking for a specific place that might have it). Some of the employees working there might have been nice but almost none of them knew anything that would be helpful. The bathrooms are disgusting. I went with my family as a woman in my 30s with a husband and kids, but even if I had gone with friends as a teen (which once upon a time I had done to this very park) I would say it was horrible. It USED TO be a hot spot, but those days are long gone.

Also, I had a legitimate concern about an accidental purchase I made online and called to get it corrected. It took me 2 months to finally get a hold of someone on the phone (the number you get online sends you in circles through recordings and never to a live person) and I only got a live person by spending 2 hours on the live chat first waiting for someone and having someone chat me the number I can call that is I believe a corporate office in Texas?? BOY WAS THAT A FIASCO! I got a very very rude aggressive abrasive woman who told me it was my fault, and told me they would not correct it and it I had an issue that I had the choice to let it go to collections and they could give me the number for it. I asked to speak to a manager and the woman who gave me the name Tammy said she did not have a manager or anyone that she reported into. I hung up the phone with her and was highly upset and disrespected. I called BACK thinking i would get someone new. It was the same woman and she sent me to her manager at that point who was even worse and more rude. SHE then told me there was no one higher than her and no one to send me to except collections.

I am truly disgusted by this place and have never received such disrespectful responses to anything in my life.

I DO NOT recommend going here or in any way interacting with the six flags brand given that THEIR employees clearly reflect the level or respect that the company has for their customers.

Might have been good i the past now overwhelmed with lines and poor attitudes - security…. Not the most FUN Park I have been To by any means… if you want long lines for your member perks and treated with bad attitudes and no customer service this is your place I’ll stick to un-affiliated parks from now on as they actually treat guest to a good time like it matters unlike the six fags corporation … thanks but no thanks

Been coming to six flags since I was a kid in the 90's. This is by far the worst fright fest they ever had here. They literally took everything out. There is nobody scaring people besides maybe 6 people tops and they aren't even in character 🙄. They took out all the decorations and shows. And if you want to experience ANYTHING halloween they want you to purchase passes to spend even more money. Which if you do they also suck. Such a waste of time and money not to mention when I purchased my season pass was told holiday in the park was included now they also took that away. This place is an absolute joke.

Beware - the employees are very inconsistent with the rules, leading to a safety issue in my mind, and you will be the one to pay the consequences. My daughter was in the station for runaway train. She had her phone in her lap. The attendant told her to put it in her pocket until she got to the top of the hill, then she could take it out again. My daughter, being 14 years old, did just that. Then they stopped the ride, climbed up the hill and confiscated her phone. When she arrived back at the station, security was waiting for her and took her to “great adventure jail” as my kids called it. The “jail” was a dingy room in the depths of the park. If I hadn’t called my son and asked to speak to them, I would have had no idea this was happening. The security guard never reached out to me, even though he had minors in his “care.” When I arrived at the park to get them, the directions the security guard told me were incorrect, so I asked someone at the gate who had no idea either. That’s comforting. Once I connected with my kids and the security guard, he told me she was being ejected from the park for 1 year. He also said I could appeal the decision, that 9 times out of 10 appeals are approved. In the event it wasn’t approved, he said I could get a refund for next season which I had already purchased. He also told me the address to send my appeal to was on the back of the pink slip he issued. In fact, not one of those things turned out to be true. Long story short, after chatting with TX and getting more conflicting info from them, and then following up with NJ, getting a third set of contradictory info, my daughter is now banned for one full year and no refund is issued. I’m not denying that my daughter broke a serious rule but the lack of knowledge from the parks employees is troubling, especially when they are in charge of people’s lives. Be very careful at this park.

Terrible customer service!!! I called today and was left on hold for 45 waiting to get a live person. After someone answered the phone, I had one question which was not addressed on the website or on any FAQ and after I asked the person on the other end of the phone he said, Let me transfer you to customer service. He could have just said yes or no but instead he transferred me and I was left on hold for another 30 minutes before I hung up. HOW RUDE and disgusting. We are not going now because we can't get an answer and I am not driving over an hour if I don't know what to expect. Thanks for nothing you bunch of creeps.

Pro's:
no wait for rides as this place was dead (think Zombieland). Many rides were fun.

Con's:
Prices! Paid $45 for 2 burgers and fries (said Johnny Rockets, but I think some random burger place that Six Flags paid to use their name)

Rundown. Many rides closed, and things in general disrepair.

Hot. Not much shade. Only the bathrooms were cooled.

Might think twice about coming again

I buy season tickets for my 7 grandkids every summer They don't live nearby. This summer we couldn't make it to the park. Six flags wouldn't pause my tickets or anything to use at a latter time .I paid hundreds an didn't go once. I won't be back,, stop contacting me about buying for 2025..

ZERO STARS:😑😑😑😑😑

I reached out to Guest Services with the below complaints about the HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE that I had. And not only did they refuse to offer us some sort of compensation or apologize for the experience. But I felt as if my complaints were ignored/ didn't matter!

Me and my boyfriend went to Six Flags In Jackson, New Jersey this past Tuesday and not a HORRIBLE😡😡😡😡experience! Starting with us fist arriving.

-We had a reservation for 10:15 a.m. and arrived at 9:30 a.m. So we had to sit around waiting 30 minutes in our car for people to arrive to the booths so that we can pay for parking. But that's the worst part. What made us upset was when after waiting all that time the person working the booth told us that they're not accepting cash. 🤯🤯🤯 And that you must pay with a card, which we didn't have! WHY ISN'T THIS INFORMATION PROVIDED WHEN CHECKING OUT to buy your tickets and WHY ISN'T IN DISPLAYED outside at the booth where you pull up to drive-through and pay!????

- And we discovered once inside that a lot of the places DIDN'T EXCEPT CASH!(Causing us to NOT be able to do/ buy everything that we wanted!)WHY I'SNT THIS DISPLAYED ON LINE OR THROUGH OUT THE PARK! We wound up eating at a restaurant where the food was HORRIBLE🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮 and ALOT MORE EXPENSIVE then where we WANTED TO eat!😡😡😡😡

-Another major issue that we had was when we were trying to purchase ice cream. I don't remember the name of the place, but when you first enter the park and walk straight ahead. There's a place that sells ice cream and funnel cakes. It's right in the vicinity heading towards the Joker ride in a huge white building with seating outside to your left. Aside from not having Combs were ice cream the woman working was extremely rude and disrespectful towards us! We came into the establishment around 3:30pm 4 o'clockish, give or take.

-On top of that, one of the things we wanted to do while at the park was have a character drawing done of us. There was only ONE person throughout the entire park doing this! I only saw this woman ONE TIME while I was there and when I walked back towards where she was set up. Maybe an hour later if that, she was gone. And she had to have left for the rest of the day because we didn't see her again all the way up until us leaving. And I know for a fact that she was the only person providing this service because it was confirmed with an employee.

-One of the most important things that you can do when going out somewhere to enjoy yourself is to have something to remember that experience you had creating that memory. You guys for whatever strange reason did NOT have any of the photo places open where you're supposed to be able to view pictures of yourself that are taken while on the ride. So we couldn't purchase any photos of ourselves!

-And while I'm on the subject of rides. You guys are strick on social distancing on rides, creating longer wait times, but NOT in the lines to get on rides! WHAT'S THE POINT!???

-While on the Green Lantern I felt like I was getting BEAT UP! My face kept slapping into the sides of the bar that comes down over you.( I don't believe that it comes down close enough to your!) My legs were EXTREMELY achy, felt like they were being RIPPED APART! I don't know if thats because of how your hanging along with the speed or what! And my crotch area HURT from the moment I sat down!(VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!😖😖😖)I had a MIGRAINE when I got off and achy legs.

-After getting off of El Toro. Let's just say that I felt like I had just been in a car accident and was suffering from WHIP LASH!🥴🥴😵😵😵

Gross and dirty. Trash on the ground and mystery sticky stuff is pervasive here.

As a season pass holder, I’ve been here multiple times over the years because my kids want to be on the rides. Thankfully they’re growing out of it.

Poor customer service (with the exception of a nice older lady at the entry turnstiles last time I visited), awful & overpriced food even by amusement park standards.

Signage and maps are scarce - you’d think there would be a sign and map every 30 feet or so. There are areas of the park where there’s not a single map in sight .

Admittedly the rides are really great. But the lines are so long that you’ll spend most of your day waiting in line.

The overall experience - including dealing with billing issues on the app - are so bad that they overwhelm any enjoyment.

We visited Great Adventure for Fright Fest and it was just awful. We waited about 30 minutes to get into the parking lot, then paid $30 for parking. Then we waited another 60 minutes to get into the park entrance (even though we had pre-purchased tickets.) When we finally got into the park, we headed towards the Fright Fest attractions. It was only then that we were told we had to visit the gift shop to pick up our wrist bands to get access to the Fright Fest attractions. We waited in line for another 45 minutes to pick up our wrist bands. Once we actually got into the park, each ride or attraction had about a 1.5 to 2 hour wait. There’s even an hour long line to buy food or snacks. I’ve been in this park for hours now and have done not much more than wait on line.

During pandemic my parents were reluctant to take us to the park but we went to check it out..
it felt safe.. my parents made sure we followed guidelines and we had a great time..
we needed this.. so glad my parents decided to take us. ( my sister and I)

We visited on a Sunday in July.
We entered the park at 10 am(we skipped the safari this time). We were able to get on 10 rides before 1 pm which was excellent.
After lunch in to the evening, the park became unsafely crowded(Covid or no Covid). We left early.
Prepare to deal with unruly guests(loud and foul mouthed people especially while waiting in lines with no regard to little children listening and watching). There are many signs around the park prohibiting marijuana use but
The crowd at Hershey Park is different.
The rides and coasters are excellent however.
If planning on going, go on a weekday, skip the safari, consider the flash pass.

So upon writing this review, I must say that my family have been season pass holders for many years. I have seen many changes in the park over the years. We have had issues, even injured on a ride once in the water park but we were helped properly and still came back. Issues and accidents are a part of life...you cannot control it. However, I will say that Six Flags as well as Hurricane Harbor did an excellent job this season. Think about it. We chose to go to an amusement park during a pandemic and these employees chose to work. We all are taking risks here. Honestly, people should follow the rules and ignore those who are not. It is really not your business if someone is not wearing a mask. As per the park rules...yes, they require a mask and believe me we wore them on a 90 degree day ( very tough), but as long as my family was protected, I could care less about who was not. The security guards are not " mask police". I heard employees of the park telling people to put their masks on but as soon as they walked away, they took them off. What are you going to do? All you do is mind your business and enjoy yourself. Remember, you chose to go to the park. As for the lines, they were long due to separation on the rides. I did not understand some of the separation techniques utilized but, it is what it is. Also, all of these rules are CDC recommendations, they are not "law" so honestly there is nothing you can do about it. As for having no credit card on hand, there are updates on the website that say buy your vouchers on-line for parking and certain food ( daily meal plan) as certain places in the park were using vouchers only. Also, did you honestly think that the park would not be crowded. It is an amusement park....duh....of course it is going to be crowded no matter capacity or not. People usually flock to a certain ride or eatery. Plus, people probably figured that the park would not be crowded due to Covid....WRONG...people wanted to get out and enjoy themselves. The park is doing a superb job and give the staff a break...really. They are people who are working to make a living and all of us can be cranky at times. They are putting themselves at risk too and their salary may not be great as the park has limited hours and days. To conclude, worry about yourself, read the fine print and enjoy the park. Be happy and smile...talk to others politely if you have a problem....do not let a day at an amusement park stress you out

By I.R |

The issue started from the entrance. I’m going to start off with masks are not enforced here. About 3 rides were closed, we literally did all the rides within about a hour and a half so we decided to go to the wave pool, which also seemed to have no maximum capacity as it was completely packed.

Here comes the fun part of our trip, the waves began and so people were bumping into each other, someone from my party was pushed by a woman who claimed she was protecting her child? When we responded back to them , the husband decided to say “this is why I don’t like your type of people”. I’m going to leave the guessing to you guys about what he meant. They also proceeded to get security on us, the security guard seemed reasonable although the entire situation was not, if you want people to stay 6 feet from each other with no issue, put a maximum capacity on the only areas that you do have open. Won’t be returning anytime soon.

Be careful not to get scammed here! Because of a dire weather forecast, we called before buying tickets to all three parks and were assured that all parks were open, which was not the case. Had they told us the truth, we would only have purchased tickets to the main park. We understand the need to close some of the rides and parks when the weather is dangerous, but hurricane harbor NEVER opened that day. They have a no refund policy, but this was deceptive on their part. We cannot return this season, so we asked for a refund, which they refused.

What great park, first time back in 10 years and better than I remembered. Eltoro and kingda are truly exceptional. But other rides were also very good. Food was pretty average, we got a fast pass as we didn't have a full day and it worked out really well. A bit off the main routes but well worth a visit.

Hope to be back before another 10 years pass

We recently visited and had a great time. Park was nice and cleaner than I remember. We only did the rides, but there is a water park and drive through safari. We bought season passes and will be back again.

Took my son here for his birthday and he loved it! My little one doesn’t really like it though when the attentions on someone else, LOL. So that ended up in a giant tantrum and someone’s tooth getting knocked out, laugh out loud. Luckily we got the situation handled and my husband took my little one home while I stayed and celebrated! I don’t really enjoy the rides though because I get nauseas so my son was all alone! LOL! He said he didn’t have a good birthday but he would like to go again and try it another time. Lots of love from Linda!

I'll start by saying that I've been going to Six Flags Great Adventure my entire life. I understand that things won't always be the same as they were back in the day, but at the age of 27 it is sad to see what Great Adventure has let itself become. The traffic caused by entering Six Flags is unacceptable. It took us over an hour to go ONE mile. The town of Jackson should be ashamed for having zero traffic regulation, and letting major roads be backed up for hours.

Thankfully we finessed priority parking through a friend or we wouldve had to paid $55 for parking. Parking prices have increased 50% in two years at this Six Flags....The first thing we notice once in the park is the lack of lighting. It might've been Fright Fest, but it felt more like they were trying to save on their energy bill.

Admission into the park was a whole other disaster. It took my group of four about 45 minutes to get in the gate with pre-purchased tickets. There were maybe FIVE gates open to funnel in a thousand+ people at one time. There was no security or crowd/line control. There were even points were you felt that you might get trampled as mobs of people would hop barriers and rush the entrance all at once. There were only two "security guards" under 20 years old trying to control this large crowd. Guest were frustrated and becoming violent. If you didn't physically see an argument or fight going on; you could certainly the negative vibe in the air.

Walking through the park you'll notice how obsolete the design is. For a park that has raised their prices, you'll be left confused as to where all your money is going because it's not being put into the park. A lot of kiosks and entire sections of the park are closed INCLUDING major roller coasters (Nitro, King Da Ka, etc.) The lack of staff members was concerning. They obviously did not have the staff to operate at 100% with the angry mob of people they let in.

For a family friendly park they sure do not care what your family may be exposed to. If it's not obnoxious teenagers, aggressive line jumpers, or the overwhelming smell of weed that make you wish you were anywhere else. The lines for each attraction will surely make you wish you stayed home. We made it on two rides in SIX hours in the park. We spent three hours in lines and three hours getting in and out of the park....What a joke. The park is full of garbage and the bathrooms are gross. There was a giant pile of vomit in the stall I used when I first entered.

The parked closed at midnight but we managed to walk out at 11:30pm. They were still letting people enter the park without going through security. Groups of people were sneaking in through the exit as they only had one woman guarding the exit. The fact that the town let's Six Flags have non-existent security practices in this day and age is comical. Operating businesses like this is how bad things happen.

We sat in STAND STILL traffic in the parking lot for 30 minutes before the police had to open the service road and let cars exit a back way. If we would've gotten stuck in the line of cars we probably wouldn't have gotten home until 4am.

I cannot see Six Flags continuing operating like this for much longer without facing major losses or having a tragedy happen. I want to believe they'll bounce back, until they make major changes I don't think I'll be going back. It's just extremely sad to see a place that I once viewed as a kick ass theme turn to complete dog poop.

Temi from the funnel cake store was AMAZING!!! Best visit so far! Look for temi such a funny guy! Excellent customer service!

By John H |

Its is a nice place to visit for a day.The kids like the rides as well as me. The lines are ridiculous. Be prepared to stand on line for more than an hour for the popular rides.

By Chad D |

You should be able to purchase tickets at reasonable price at the park. Not the case.
It is double the amount versus online. Customer service agent was not helpful at all. When a mistake was made with online purchase I was on lengthy holds and Sarah from Texas the agent supervisor did not listen to reason.
There are so many other parks that are worthy of hard earned family money. Knotts Berry Farm or the California beaches.

Very Bad customer service.

By Francisco P |

In this park the stores do not give you the receipt, for purchases of the glasses, they charge you more expensive and they give you the most varatos, I called the supervisor of the store and she said that I will show you the receipt which I mo they gave me . The glasses cost 54 dolla and they charged me 70, that is, they are taking my money for a cheaper product.

i go here many times a year love this i suggest this to people who like roller coasters like me, loved the super man. just a little expensive do forget to buy a flash pass you don't want to wait in line for an hour.

By Y M |

I am a diamond elite member with platinum flash passes and the best dining passes you have to offer and wanted to share my opinion on ways to improve operational. At the flash pass area there needs to be more direction especially on days that were as busy as the 5th of july. Me and my wife stood in the line for people buying skip the line passes for almost 2 hours before getting word from disgruntled people that the line was for people that didnt reserve online which we did. I was totally unfair for anyone especially for member who should be taken better care of. I did me some young lady named gabrielle that help diffuse the situation some but still didnt get my time back from waiting so long. Please fix this ASAP or you'll be risking someone passing out and maybe hurting themselves. I usually dont do this but I pay for everything you guys offer at the highest level aside from the picture pass, so I feel like mine as well as many others opinions should matter. Feel free to reach out to me as I really look forward to talking with someone about some ideas to help everyday operations and possibly find a way to keep paying for a membership.

By Sandi |

We went on possibly the only Saturday & Sunday in beginning of July in which the lines were great and the whole park was not crowded. Had to wait a bit in line for food on Sunday but was overall a great not packed weekend.

By Emily H |

We had a great time at 6 Flags! We did the VIP tour and felt it was well worth the $. When we looked at the cost of parking/food/flash passes it made sense to spend extra for the VIP tour and I would say the experience exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Casey was AWESOME and knew everything about the park and the rides (even where to sit on each individual ride for the best experience.) We were able to do everything we wanted and didn't waste time wandering around looking for things or waiting in line. El toro and Nitro were our favorite rides and the giant tortoises Fred and Wilma are a must see!! Shout out to Casey again for the best trip to 6 flags we could have imagined!!

By Athenan9 |

The light show is poor at best. Nothing more than some trees with lights and a few people in costume waving as you go by. Paid for 3-D glasses but no one knew where to get them. $70 wasted. Could have gotten a better experience driving around town and looking at lights.

I love this amusement park. There you will find the heister and the second faster roller coast the whole would King de KA .

By Sérgio M |

We are a family of 4, with 3 addicted to thrill rides, so we had high expectations of Six Flags GA (we have been before to other thrill parks, such as Ferrari World, in UAE, and Canada's Wonderland).
We basically had the time of our lives, we enjoyed everything.
Most important, the park had few visitors, which meant we almost had no line wait. This is important because we are used to 1h+ lines in Disneyland Paris and other parks.
We took 6 times Kingda Ka and 4 times El Toro, in the 2 days, and we went to all the rides we wanted to.
I have only experienced similar sensations to the ones provided by Kingda Ka on Formula Rossa (the fastest coaster in the world), and these 2 are apart from every other coasters I have been given the thrust felt by the amazing push. Really enjoyed that feeling from Kingda Ka, thank you, Six Flags!
I am not sure why I am reading other less positive reviews, but as a European I would advise anyone visiting NY/Phily and enjoying thrill parks to drop by SFGA.
My only negative issue and again this is from an European perspective (I am aware everyone in US drives to everywhere), is that the park does not offer any reasonable solution for those that do not have a car. There are no bus nor partner hotels nearby, and this increases the price of visiting SFGA (we took Uber/Lyft, had to wait, risking no one would accept the ride). Perhaps SFGA could at least partner with some hotels to facilitate the visit for those that do not have a car.
We went on 27-28th August (2 days). Got the Platinum Pass in a promotion by following an important advice from SF customer center (thank you).

My 10-year-old son and I went last Saturday. The park was very clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. The lines were a bit long because of the spacing due to social distancing guidelines. We had an overall wonderful experience. We can't wait to return.

By Nina Jacobs |

ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT! Fright fest was the worst! Such a waste of time and money! Go to Dorney Park if u want a great time. Six flags didn’t even have any scary music, no actors. The price you pay extra to go to the attractions is Definitely not worth it. All there is are props. The wait times for every ride to attraction was over an hour, tho their app says different. Don't waste your time!!

By Erika Dahyan P |

The park is so packed, we could not even walk, long lines for every single attraction. I went with my boyfriend last week on Tuesday thinking and hoping that it won't be so crowded. It was horrible crowded. We stayed for 20 mins and left no way to enjoy the park.

By OnAir49501960054 |

I don’t even know where to begin. Six Flags Great Adventure was a complete disaster from the moment we arrived. First off, the lines were insanely long. I expected some waiting, but not 1 hours in the blazing sun just to get on ONE ride. By the time we got through the line, the ride broke down. No apology, no update, just told to leave the queue.

And that wasn’t even the worst part.

They are kicking people out of the park for simply having their phone in their pocket on certain rides. Not using it—just having it. No warnings, no understanding. Security treats you like a criminal and doesn’t care if you paid hundreds for entry, parking, food, etc. Imagine spending all that money and getting thrown out halfway through your day because you forgot to put your phone in a locker for a 90 second rollercoaster. Ridiculous.

Speaking of money, everything here is wildly overpriced. 10 dollars for a small locker that u dont even need. All that for a park where half the rides are broken or closed. And don’t expect staff to care, they seem just as fed up as the guests. Unfriendly, disorganized, and clearly overworked.

Maybe the only good thing is refillable bottle for 20 dollars thats it.

By AdventureMom04 |

Although the park was fun, we had the most awful experience trying to get a lost phone back. Rude staff who wouldn’t help us find it before we left the park even though a lady said she turned it in. Then they found it after I called several times and sent emails. They said it was sent and I had to pay 37.00 for shipping for FedEx. I never got the phone back and have called and emailed but they just don’t care and won’t admit either they lost the phone or someone stole it. There’s no real system for shipping list items. Basically it’s packed up handed to someone and thrown in a mailroom for FedEx to pick up unsupervised. There’s no one watching this room so it was probably lost or stolen. FedEx tracking has no record of it being picked up an d no one can even tell me at great adventure if it was picked up. And I bought six season passes this year so if this is how they treat season pass holders. Waiting on 7 on your side to get back to me. All I want is for them to reimburse me for the phone and FedEx money but they won’t.

By Estrellyluz |

Half the rides are shut down, Fright Fest isn't even fright fest anymore. They put all the work into the mazes and nothing else. You have to pay extra just to go into the mazes regardless of a season pass or ticket. It's not worth the money or time, just go to Busch Gardens

By Paulaa0208 |

Worth the characters! We were in the park on 14/12/2024, 1 couple and 1 teenager of 16 years old. It was very cold (-2C), several attractions closed and the park was quite empty. If on the one hand you do not need express/fura queue entrance, on the other the park is discouraged with few open attractions. Valued by hot chocolate, 3/4 attractions and characters.

By Kelly |

Park was clean and well maintained with flowers, plenty of benches, trees for shade. Purchased platinum fast pass, worked well, but very expensive!!! Heard other guest say less expensive fast pass wasn't worth it, still waited 30 min or more for rides. Would purchase the platinum again, but really ridiculously expensive. But if we are making a day of it, who want's to wait half the day in lines?

By Aidan E |

Excellent variety of great roller coasters. Incredible value as wait times are minimal. Great layout

By sam280_ |

Made the journey on April 9th, almost a perfect weather day. First to the safari, which was green and clean. Animals were a plenty! New security entrance was efficient, and the park was clean. Main Street retail was filled, with Diamond Level scored a $9 shirt.
Took advantage of the free photo and used it with Bugs and Tweety. Great to see the charachters again.

Did one ride, the bumper cars, and the operators were enthusiastic and engaged. Then to Fatburger. Its either all or nothing. People were walking away, and that's not how FatBurger operates in LA, Vegas, or AC. If you can't put toppings on a burger, its going to be trouble when the park gets busy. I'm lucky to still have a meal plan so today's dining was a draw. We hope to do better next time.

By Sivan M |

The park is full of plenty of fun rides and great during holiday seasons. The lines can get pretty long during peak hours so I recommend getting the fast pass and other passes to help expedite the wait. Fright fest was fun, with around 6 different haunted houses to go visit. The food is expensive and not special so eating beforehand is a good option. Expect lots of walking so bring good shoes and sun screen, jackets, hand sanitizer, etc.

By H L |

Recommended place to take big kids to play. The place have a lot options of rides and roller coaster, from easy rides to adrenaline one. Really great adventure. We had so much fun.
We buy entrance ticket online. Cheaper compare buy on the spot.
Note : snack shop inside theme park where we buy churros and drink water, they don't accept cash payment.

By Gregory Besgrove |

Actually care about your customers and not dollar signs. When the pandemic shutdown the park, all payments should have ceased. If you are going to start letting people use their credit for past months unused, don't start in November when the park is open on a very limited basis.
In a day and age being able to make changes with the click of a button, why would it take 45 days to terminate your membership? The only reason is for you to extract another payment and/or getting the customer into a catch-22 of not being able to cancel because of past due payments.

I went earlier this month with my autistic son, his cousins, and my disabled aunt. At the gate, we were separated from the rest of our party and put in a line by security, where a poorly-handled drug sniffing dog aggressively approached my son’s ADA certified service dog. They then denied us entry into the park saying our dog “attacked” their dog which was a lie. My aunt and the other kids didn’t know what had happened so they were already in and she was left to try to keep up with three other kids without a second adult to supervise. My son was upset and confused so I had to try to explain why they had lied and refused us entry for no good reason. They refused to give a refund for our tickets. Shameful!

I'm in line at the dark night (inside line). Absolutely no social distancing. I feel like I'm at a bar during Marti Gras. Stay away

Having been to Great Adventure more than 10 times since it opened in 1974 but not having gone there for over 20 years (my children are grown) decided to take my grandson there today as he has never been there. Personally I was extremely disappointed in what your park has evolved into. Even in 1974 there seemed to be more overall attractions than what I witnessed today. My visit started off badly as I was instructed to remove my web pants belt by security when I first entered which caused an embarrassing situation for me as several times my pants almost fell down. Why not invest in a hand scanner as most security systems do. Also I don't know why your scanner didn't go off as I have an artificial metal knee. I have been through hundreds of scanner systems when I worked as an Investigator for the state of nj (retired after 39 yrs) which required court visits and visits to secured facilities such as prisons and I never experienced what I did today.
In summary I gave such a negative rating as I paid overpriced fee to feel disrespected and was shocked to see how rundown the park had become. You can install all the thrill rides geared for young teenage crowd but you have failed to maintain what the park used to be; a great place to take your family to enjoy rides or attend the shows you had at the great arena or play house theatre.
In closing it is sad that I'm even writing this review because your park is no longer a family experience you can remember for years but a money grabbing enterprize. How can you charge $18 for a slice of pizza that looks like Elio frozen pizza slice. I feel for the people who go to park now as they have no frame of reference as to what the park was meant to be; a true enjoyable family outing. Finally work with your staff who seem to be unhappy and rude at times.

By samuel y |

I went to this park and was disappointed to see that more than half of their rides were shut down. Then I had to wait until 2:00 for most of the rides to open. Even then most of there rides were shut down for repairs or malfunctions. I had to wait in line for 40 minutes for the ride to shut down when I got to the top of the line due to power shortage. I was utterly disappointed in this park for their service.

By Cindy R |

We purchased tickets in advance, reserved our time, experience: long winding line through the parking lot, no Lights:, finally enter the park! Price is ridiculous, $14.99 per person and a 9.99 fee for who knows what! So 4 of us in the vehicle 1/2 hour light tour. NOT worth the price. Some lights are perfect but we found not long enough, rip off price, find sights in your neighborhood. Shame on Six Flags!

By Climber16409431086 |

Where do I start? Surprisingly the park appears pretty empty and you would think that would correlate with a shorter wait time but that would be the furthest from the truth. The superman line stated 5 minutes, friends and my wife went on, 2 hours later they finally got off. I waited with my 2 kids for 2 hours since my wife had my wallet and phone in her bag. Next thing I'm on the way out of the park and I see the funnel cake place. I wait on the short line, get to the register and the funnel cake machine is broke! 2 for 2, won't be back here for a long time. Dave your money and time and dont come to think janky place.

By monica g |

Went today for the first time in about 20 years. I grew up in NJ and moved to PA. I have frequently gone to Dutch Wonderland, Hershey Park and Dorney Park, and I have to say the rides at Great Adventure are much better. However my overall experience has been better at the other parks.
The staff was wonderful and pleasant at GA and I found the rest rooms very clean. The biggest deterrent for me is the other guests at GA specifically the camps that cut the lines and are cussing and yelling. They unbuckle and stand on rides, specifically Roaring Rapids and it slows the whole line down. They constantly cut the line and yell at the staff who tries to tell them to wait in line. They really need security to remove them from the park. I would not consider it good for families. My children range in age from 8 - 13yo and they were afraid of the other older kids that came with large camps/schools. I would recommend going after 4 pm when they leave.

Together with mom and the entire family and friends we had a great adventure trying rides and screaming from the top of our lungs.

Powerful team, great practices of social distancing and masks wearing. Overall a wonderful package with the day pass. We all had fun and so looked forward to our next celebration with the Six Flags Great Adventure Team.

Went here last weekend and was not impressed. No social distance, rowdy crowd with no interjection from security.Food and beverage is grossly overpriced for garbage. The parking fee is a joke too.Get rid of the grumpy seniors you have at the entrance.I would say this place is a "POOR ADVENTURE".

I signed up for two memberships summer 2021. We only went once because it was too crowded. After the membership auto drafts drew my account negative several times, I asked to cancel the memberships. They refused to let me do this and said they would report it to the credit bureau if I just closed the checking account.

After visiting multiple amusement parks, I decided to make my way to Six Flags Great Adventure. Most days, the parking lot opens before the set opening time. On the day I visited, the first reservation time slot was for 10, however the parking gates opened 10:20. After parking, security/temperature checks were fast and safe. Even though reservations start at 10, rides open 11. Our day consisted of only a few rides due to the long lines. This was from the every-other-row seating and frequent sanitization procedures. Towards the end of the day, I noticed fewer and fewer people wearing masks. We left around 2, only 25% of people were properly wearing masks. Six Flags was going around enforcing the policy, so it's not their fault, it's the crowd's. Disappointing considering Six Flags' great procedures. Overall, expect long lines, yet safe park.

Looking past the insanely priced food and $30(!) parking, it’s very difficult to give this park anything other than 5 stars for enjoyment.

The park is easily accessible from major roads, and the variety and quality of the rides is fantastic, and we loved the fact that the site is fairly compact so you can get between rides quickly.
We had an 11 and 9 year old, and rode pretty much all the thrill rides other than Kingda ka (we were cowards!) and superman (closed).
Our 9 year old found El Toro a little too intense, but not a complaint because it’s a fantastic ride.

We went on a Friday, and not sure if we got lucky or it’s like this all the time, but the queue times were minimal, apart from a long wait on the log flume.
Our interactions with the staff were pleasant, they were very helpful.

By Mum_of_3_Stockport |

We had a good day as the sun was shining, and the kids enjoyed the rides. We kept up our positivity despite the lines.
We spent over $500 as one time visitors from the uk and did not feel we got value for money at all.
Queues were AWFUL - well over 1.5 hours per ride (Monday, the day after Easter Sunday. We knew it was spring break but still shocked at the lines).
Flash passes are a complete scam - you have to buy them or you wouldn’t get to go on any rides (as the flash passes make the regular queues twice as bad).
Having queued 2 hours for Crazy Train we decided to buy into the scam and buy the one ride flash passes. Still had to queue for well over an hour for remaining rides, even with the flash passes.
Tired infrastructure and too many rides closed.
Really bad, disorganised food outlets with poorly trained staff. Glad we bought the meal passes so we didn’t spend any extra but still really expensive for the poor quality fast food.
Managed to go on Superman, Crazy Train, twix, Kingda Ka, Batman and Robin. That was all, due to the closures and huge queues.
I don’t recommend this park unless you’re local, can get the season pass and then buy flash passes on the days you visit. We won’t be back.

We were recently in New Jersey and visited this park on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday all in the same week. Sunday was probably the worst day. Where in the hell do teens get the idea that it's okay to line cut? Several teens waving their friends up to join them and the constant "excuse me". Get in line at the SAME TIME you jerks if you want to ride together. As one was trying to move himself up on Kingda Ka, a middle schooler and his friends wouldn't let him pass. The whole line starting yelling NO and he retreated to a crowd of people clapping. Staff does nothing, even when it happens right in front of them. They are probably not allowed to, though not sure why. Two boys went through a "restricted area" to line cut and all the employee did was tell them to get out of the restricted area. Saw someone do something like that at Adventureland (kid jumped a fence and onto a moving train- security was already waiting when it stopped about 20 feet later and he was escorted away) Whatever happened to common decency. Sense of entitlement is crazy. On Monday, I think nearly every Class of 2024 in New Jersey was there. The parking area for busses looked like a bus garage because there were so many. All that said, we really did have a good time over the 4 days we were there. We have the old memberships and old dining plans that are no longer available. This location has a dedicated ticket turnstile for members and certain level passholders. Being able to bypass the crowds of people at the regular turnstiles was major. Went on El Toro two mornings where we walked right up. The food prices I can't speak much to because of our old dining plan deal. Lines do get long at the food places. Thursday was the best day because bad weather was predicted, crowds stayed away and it turned out to be beautiful, Kingda Ka, El Toro and Nitro were our favorites.

PROS:
faster entry
great rides
clean bathrooms

CONS:
crowds (not much anyone can do about that)
LINE JUMPING- Teen parkgoers and Six Flags need to do better

The lights, the shows and rides are open and great. Almost all rides are open. It does get crowded for food area.

I have been to this park many times, with one friend or another. I am usually here at least once a year. I can say that the park is clean, and most employees are fairly friendly. There is a nice selection of rides, especially in the coaster line up. Unfortunately, a few rides were closed on this visit.

Food is typical of most parks. It is not the best but not the worst. Be aware that the park is cashless, so have a credit card with you. I did have a rude encounter with a worker at the Yum Yum Cafe. I asked for a hamburger meal since only cheeseburger meals are listed on the menu. Note to management, not everyone likes, wants, or can eat cheese on their burgers.

I asked a young man if I could get a hamburger basket. Now, the set up for this restaurant is different than it was last year in terms of how orders are taken and meals paid for. I figured that asking a worker behind the counter who was putting out food was the way it was still done. I stepped aside to allow others to get their meals and pass through while I waited on my burger. The young man who I asked for a burger began to push several boxes of food onto the pick up area. The pick up area had special areas designated for cheeseburgers, chicken, etc. The last box he put on the incline he pushed towards me a bit. I thought this was my hamburger. I grabbed the edge of the box to look inside, and the box tore a bit. Unfortunately, this was not a burger but chicken instead. I did NOT touch the food at all, just the outer edge of the box.

A young lady came flying out from the kitchen and started yelling at me, telling me that I would now have to take that chicken meal and pay for it since I tore the box. I am not going to pay like $16 for food that I am not going to eat. I never touched it. I explained to her what happened and what I was waiting on. She said, "IF you could READ, you would see that the food is labeled here on the side of the incline under the heating lamp. WHOA!! Insults!! I can READ!! I again explained to her what happened, trying to get it through her head I wanted a burger WITHOUT cheese. She kept saying that was not an option on the menu, but a special order. I told her that is what I did. She kept insisting that I learn to read the labels out front.

Finally, she said that I was supposed to have gone through the line and ordered the burger without cheese at the cashier's. I told her that I had no way of knowing that is how things were being done this year with the change in food service. I did it the way I did the previous year. If that was the case, then why did the young man who called back for a burger not tell me what I needed to do, like go to the cashier to order the burger?? Apparently some more training needs to happen.

This did not settle well with me because I will not be insulted by someone half my age. As a membership holder, I expect better. I did file a complaint and spoke with the food manager. She apologized for what happened and told me that this young lady was in the wrong on how she handled it. She immediately went to Yum Yum Cafe to address her on her attitude and behavior. The manager assured me that she would let this experience be known to her supervisor and general manager at the meeting later that day so issues like this would not happen again.

Despite that snafu, the rest of the day was pretty good.

250 dollars including taxes and parking, four persons, cheapest tickets. And that's not including car rental for a day, gas from/to Manhattan, 30+ dollars in road tolls. Most of the "thrill" rides were closed or not working, or working for one hour and then closing again. A lot of kiosks were not open, so we needed to walk quite a bit just to get someting to drink. And food/drinks was really expensive. A big disappointment. The photos are screenshots from the app, showing how many thrill rides were not operational.

The good of the pandemic is that they’re operating at less capacity so smaller crowds and lines. The day we were there had very few long waits for rides. Contrary to others, we experienced frequent reminders and reprimands when masks weren’t fully covering our faces. They also encouraged use of their hand sanitizers located at every attraction. With smaller crowds, many attractions were closed in their efforts to reduce their costs, which makes total sense, but guess many didn’t expect this. All in all, we went in with limited expectations and was actually a very positive experience.

Went on all the big roller coasters! They are still running amazing! My husband went when he was a kid and remembered mostly everything

I AM 69. TECH SAVY. I spent 1 hour trying to get to a live person to talk about "renewing a membership". I found out that my membership that I bought my son and granddaughter this time last year would automatically renew into eternity. And because I used my husband's name, only HE can cancel/change it. This was not made clear last year. I AM going to renew - for a year - because my granddaughter is 4 and my son can take her during the week. Once she starts K it won't be a possibility. So I have set a reminder with Alexa and Siri to remind me in Sept. to CANCEL. Want to know the number I was told to call after I finally got to a human being after 20 attempts? 817-607-6105. This is all just a complete set up to make life difficult to renew/cancel/talk to a human. BEWARE. PARK IS GREAT. Benefits are amazing depending on the membership but it isn't a term limited membership!

Always a great time lots to do and very reasonably priced. Coming since I was a kid and now I bring my adult kids. So much fun and excitement for all.

We hadn’t been to Great Adventure in 20 years. The park is celebrating it's 50th year this year.

The park layout is generally the same but somewhat expanded. Most of the rides are roller coasters of some sort now. May of the spinning type older rides – the bobsled, the tilt a whirl, the enterprise, the scrambler etc are gone now. There are many more food kiosks. I was shocked at the number of bars where you can purchase beer, wine & margaritas. Who wants to get drunk & go on a ride? I’d be barfing.

Everything is more expensive like the rest of the world but compared to parks like Disney this is bargain. They do charge a whopping $45 for parking! You can pay more to park closer.

There are options you can purchase to cut down on wait times. We didn’t get the fast pass because it was a cool Saturday in April, before the season officially begins, so the lines weren’t terrible, but without fast pass it will be impossible to go on all the rides during the busy days. Even the “boring” rides like the swings & the jolly roger had ½ hour wait times in April. Many rides weren’t open yet including the water rides, the Haunted House, the Ferris wheel, the scenic gondola over the whole park, Skull Mountain, Medusa and the runaway mine car roller coaster. I was particularly disappointed that the later wasn’t open. I wanted to ride it for nostalgia.

There was some graffiti but not nearly as much as I remember. There also wasn't gum stuck everywhere.

Most of the rides now have some shade while you are standing there. Gone are the days of baking in the direct sun. They also have TV screens with trivia to keep you occupied. It’s the same loop throughout the whole park so you will know all the answers by the time you are done with your 3rd or 4th ride.

You can’t bring even the smallest fanny pack or cross body bag on most of the coasters. Invest in pants with zippered pockets for your wallet. I was OK leaving my eye glasses on a shelf unattended but I wouldn’t leave anything of value. There are lockers you can rent for $10 per day; you can move your stuff around the park all day but the lockers fill up fast. If you have to wait to get into a locker that will further erode the time you have for actual rides.

You can buy reusable drink cups: $19.95 for the single day use one or $34.95 for the orange seasonal one. After that refills are $1.99. Given that 1 drink is about $6.49 there is value. You can bring your own mug / cup and fill up at the various water fountains with bottle filler options. Alas in April they were not yet working.

Everything was calm while we were there but I did not see many security guards. IMO the place could use another dozen or so visible deterrents. There are camera everywhere so the park can eject bad actors after the fact

Park is okay. Ticket buying experience sucks. No refunds. I made 2nd transaction accidentally, due to browser froze on first transaction, i wrote several emails i get no response. I lost my money as of today. I would recommend to be careful if you are making an online transaction, please. If a reputed company like sixflag behaves like this to ignore customer complaints, have no words. Good luck rest of you dealing with ticket issues.

WOW, GREAT TIME. So I happened to visit this park on Labor Day Weekend during 2020 and yes it was busy but I had the Platinum Flash Pass so it wasn't to bad for me. But the park is amazing! The rides are all great and it was really clean as well. Being that im a permanent resident of Florida and very used to Disney and Universal standards I was really surprised. It was fun! I did a full walkthrough showing everything on my youtube channel just search MrBucketlist Six Flags Great Adventure. You'll enjoy this park!!

By Amy W |

Not all the rides are open, the number of closed rides vs open were almost equal, the gondola ride is even shut down, do not compare it to Disney or Universal, this place doesn't even come close.

You can wait for over an hour for a ride & the thing breaks down, happened more than once today, not like Disney or Universal where you get a fast pass to redeem on another ride.

Also, once upon a time there were supplemental seat belts for bigger people... now nothing, so you can wait online for over an hour to find out your chest is too big to ride a ride or the seat belts are too short.

Never again... I'd rather fly down to FL or go to CA.

STAFF DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RESPOND TO MEDICAL EMERGENCIES!!!! I have never been so upset with an amusement park in my ENTIRE LIFE. While visiting the park my daughter unexpectedly fainted while standing at the concession stand. As a frantic mother I began to scream for the help of the worker to at the very minimum contact EMS while I worked on my child. I could not believe my EYES and EARS as the worker continued to fill a slushie then verbalized " I have to complete this order first." Frustrated beyond belief by standers began screaming and yelling at her for a response, at which point she contacted SECURITY not EMS. once security arrived we were scolded for not having on mask while we were pouring ice and water on my child. EMS arrived immediately jumped into action and apologized for the handling of the situation. If it wasnt for EMS they would not even have received one star. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER VISIT THIS PARK AGAIN!

Very disappointed. My granddaughter went a few weeks ago and was just about to get on the Flash when the ride closed down. She was eager to go again, so I took her on the 23rd. Immediately went to the Flash ride, only to see a temporarily closed sing (at 10:30am) No estimate time when it would be open, just "some time today". She wanted to go home, but I convinced her to try El Toro. Got there, in line, when, the ride shut down (no estimate time it would re-open) Went back to see if Flash was running yet (signs in park said it was "Open"), but still closed at 2:30 We found a shady spot and waited, and the ride eventually open (about 4:00 pm). Fortunately. Steve gave us a flash pass, so we did get to do the ride.

Most of the restaurants were closed, we had to wait 10 minutes for the Henna lady to return. The people working the park were pleasant, but spend $80 for tickets, and another $60 for food/drink, to go on only a few rides, was a disappointment.

My daughter and I use to visit every year, several times. It has really gone downhill since those days.. So sad to see.

I enjoyed driving through the park for their Christmas light display and they did a nice job, but didn't like how they charged per person instead of just per car load.

During this time of pandemic, it was wonderful to get out and enjoy ourselves! Their attention to the patrons safety was excellent! Sanitizing stations were plentiful throughout the park, rides were sanitized after every run. My only concern was the closeness of patrons on the lines to get in. This should be enforced and monitored by park employees. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience and I thank GA for having us and allowing to have a great time!!

I have never in my life met ruder staff. Not helpful. No matter where we went we encountered disgusting and nasty staff members, it actually was so upsetting to see the way they were speaking to people that couldn’t speak proper English. Telling us we can’t bring our phones on rides but we need our phone to book each ride for the fast passes but then you were made leave the ride and pay for a locker to put your phone into even if you have a locker on the other side of the park. The only good thing was the fast pass but In saying that no employee was apart of that enjoyment bar one boy called mason on the joker ride and maybe one or two more employees

This is our first year with season passes gifted to us. We also got the basic dining plan which says:

Flexibility to replace a meal with a snack

It rained today so we got to the park around 4, raining all the way there. We asked the first food vendor about converting our lunch to a snack and he said it would be fine.

Everyone was nice all day until 7:30 when we went to use our dining passes for the aforementioned snack. “No, you can’t do that, lunch is only until 3.” It makes complete sense but if you refer back, it says flexibility to replace a meal with a snack. Snacks are sometimes half the price of a meal. Who cares what time I want it? Particularly on a rainy day with limited park hours.

First the restaurant worker was nasty to us. I finally said “you’re just repeating yourself. Help me understand by using different words”
So then we go to member services where the tone just started off nasty. “Lunch ends at 3” Yes I hear you but we didn’t even arrive til 4 bc it was raining and you can’t reach anyone by phone to clarify and it’s our first time and we honestly didn’t know there were specific times to convert a meal to a snack.

So everyone is aware, the basic plan includes lunch but only until 3 pm. If for some reason, you don’t want a meal, you may choose a snack instead but it must be before 3.

When I finally said to the woman at member services, “is anyone nice here?” She stopped and helped us understand. We all lead busy lives, we don’t do your job every day. Taking a minute to help a guest understand is the best way to handle things. Thank goodness we were able to turn the situation around and we were offered two snack vouchers as we’d already offered the kids a snack before we left the park. We won’t miss a meal again now that we know.

My family will never go back again. Isn't a family friendly park anymore. Used to enjoy Holiday in the Park it's no more. Halloween they charged extra for everything. No more Dead Man's party
Shows used to be awesome, water shows, animal shows, Batman. They need to rethink things about the park to make it back to bring a family place.

It was amazing. Six Flags is a thrill-seekers dream and I would recommend taking kids 10 and older, not younger kids. El Toro, Kingda Ka, Nitro, and Jersey Devil are some of the best rides in the park that I recommend. Tall rides like Kingda Ka (the tallest roller coaster in the world), Nitro, and El Toro have great views of the park and surrounding lands at the top of each coaster. There are plenty of gift shops and food places as well as places to stop and refresh and refill drinks. Overall I highly recommend!

The most embarrassing effort I have ever seen from an amusement park or any business for that matter. We came on a Sunday with pre purchased tickets (for $120 each btw) only to be greeted by the least organized entrance I have ever seen. We waited over 2 hours TO TRY TO GET INTO THE PARK. The lines were chaotic and clearly there was nowhere near enough staff to handle the crowd size. There appeared to be roughly 5 or 6 people scanning tickets for what had to be several thousand people trying to enter. Zero security controlling lines, which led to even more chaos and fights/arguments. If you are understaffed then maybe don't sell so many tickets!!! We never even entered the park after giving up with the 2 hour plus wait. Our group of 6 spent over $750 and had nothing to show for it other than a ruined Sunday.

The complete disregard for families spending their hard earned money is absolutely disgusting. Imagine scraping together enough money for your family to spend their Sunday together and then being met with this type of utter disregard. Shameful. We have already been told that there are no refunds, however, we could come back and use our tickets a different day. What kind of lunatic would subject themselves to that type of experience again. In a time when customer service is at it's lowest, it is getting tough to stand out, but congratulations Six Flags you stand alone as the shining example of what a disgraceful business looks like.

P.S. Don't bother replying to this with your automated email asking me to reach out to customer support so that they can tell me no refunds are available. Your cold and predictable reply message will perpetuate the lie that you care about the guests experiences and we shouldn't bother with that charade.

Love Six Flags! One of the absolute best parts of my families spring/summer/fall. Can’t beat the Season Pass. Best rides and coasters ever!

By Laura Campbell Rhinehardt |

the park is very clean and pleasant to walk… although, I do think it could be made more walkable… being able to see a coaster run next to you, but having to walk back to the center of the park and back around to get to it is frustrating… I get it, marketing

on to happier stuff!
honestly, every staff member we encountered was pleasant, professional and seemed to be truly enjoying their jobs!
we rode Kingda Ka a LOT while we were there… we drove from Charlotte NC specifically for that coaster… the two employees that made the biggest impression on us were Branden and Nicko (I think that’s the spelling of their names)… we rode several times back to back, they were always smiling, polite, professional, kind, never frustrated… the lines ran smoothly and quickly, which was amazing!
even though every time we rode, they would hear us wishing for a “rollback”, they made us feel welcome and safe!
being from the South, you always hear about how people that live above the Mason Dixon Line are rude… that was NOT our experience!!!
Six Flags Great Adventure New Jersey made us feel right at home and we can’t wait to come back!!!

Was an awesome theme park. Lately they hardly ever add rides or improve the park. Also, they don't value long term customers. They cut membership benefits, and are a fraud. No more discounts for friends. Probably going to lose millions in a class action suit.

Last time i visited the park was probably in 2009 when the park was upkept, popular and had shows. Decided to take our kids on a Monday in June 2022 to share with them a place i used to enjoy before kids. Was sad to see how run down Six Flags Great Adventure is nowadays, overgrown bushes and weeds growing in the cracks of the sidewalks, some "Fright Fest" signs still up, some areas seemed sort of closed off and many rides not running - it was actually confusing as the park entrance was $59 per ticket and $35 for parking.

Only good thing was the ride employees as most seemed to be engaged in their job bringing in a good attitude to a delipidated place.

That was the last time i go there.. will be going to Dorney Park in PA instead which for me is actually closer and much better kept than SFGA.

After really looking forward to a family day out at six flags, we definitely left there feeling disappointed. I’ll start by saying we got there early, around 10:10, so by the time we parked and got in line, we entered the park very quickly - at 10:30. We went straight to the flash which was closed and continued to remain closed our entire visit. We did see them testing the ride and workers doing multiple test runs on the ride itself. If the ride is safe enough for about 8 employees to do multiple turns then I’m not sure why the public can’t go on it. We did see people start to form lines outside the ride multiple times during the day given they saw employees going on the ride, so they assumed it was about to open. The security could have done a better job of informing people of what was happening.
This wasn’t the only closed ride for our visit, there were multiple rides closed either the whole day or for parts of the day due to ride issues. I’ve never been to a theme park that has had sooo many rides closed or disruptions. Very disheartening to wait in a line to be told 20 minutes later it’s closed. Even more disheartening to pay for a park ticket for a specific day but then rides your kids wanted to do that day are closed the whole day with no advance warning. Also, there is no way for you to then change your ticket to a day when more rides would be open.
Other issues we found were poorly trained staff. The staff we experienced could never work at a Disney or universal studios where the job is all about efficiency and keeping the lines moving. There were rides which we saw start with multiple empty seats, while employees were just taking their time and having full blown conversations with each other. This led to longer lines forming and frustration from multiple guests. We also saw rides just sitting there waiting, again because employees weren’t efficient in checking people and having them ready and waiting by the time the ride got back. Staff would just about always finish conversations with each other (not about the ride, just general chit chat) before continuing to work and let people on rides. I’m all for team bonding and conversing with each other but not when you are now creating lines. If other theme parks can keep rides flowing continuously, then I don’t see why six flags staff can’t be trained to do the same.
Another complaint is they post height requirements for the ride, however my son who was above the height requirement of 48” was told he couldn’t go on a ride because the lap bar wouldn’t touch his hips. Safety is definitely important but if there is a weight requirement for these rides then this should be advertised on the website under the ride, and also at the front of the ride. The only way a child of 48” could have met the requirement expected is by being overweight.
We didn’t eat at the park, just got drinks, as all the prices we saw were ridiculous for what you received.
The one positive was that by getting there at opening we did get on rides with small lines, but by lunch time the wait times were long.
Personally I wouldn’t come back given the amount of ride closures and overall lack of quality. If they are going to continue with minimal operation of rides then they should be reducing the ticket price.

I am a season pass holder. I visited the park since it appeared that the park was operating safely during this pandemic. I found that it was just the opposite. The park was not enforcing the state mandated rules in order to operate. I felt very unsafe! Lack of patrons wearing a face mask. Social distance does not exist. The staff was unresponsive to any request for help from rude patrons. The people at the park were trying to start fights. Security response, take it to customer service. Do not go. It is not worth it and unsafe.

What a superb theme park. Of
You like roller coasters then this is the place for you. We went off season so there were no queues and we went on ALL the rides. The coasters are like some we have never experienced before and although the park is not the prettiest you are there for the rides and that’s it! We ate some fried chicken and it was actually ok but typical theme park fare.

i went to one ride, waited on line for about half an hour, and someone goes on the speaker, "this ride broke, so it will temporarily be closed. we don't know how long it will take to repair..." this happened by 4 rides. after 2 hours, i was extremely dissapointed that i hadn't even gone on even one ride. the last hour i was there, i was able to go on 3 rides, but make a calculation: it costed me 90 dollars (64 for the ticket, 26 for the parking) for disappointment and 3 rides.

This park was disgusting, pot smoke all over , bathrooms were filthy , half dressed people walking around a park where kids are. The lines were way to long. I'd never go back.

They said LIMITED DUE TO THE CORONA VIRUS that's a lie iv'e been to six flags multiple times its was 5x as packed as it would be on a regular Saturday before covid. I'm a teenager just like a lot of people there and didn't take of my mask once you walk in 65% of the people there aren't wearing masks your waiting in line for hours not even a inch apart... me and my friend didn't want to be so close to people cause you know the SIX FEET rule so we paid for the flash pass plus they closed at 8 on a Saturday but 11 on a Friday where's the logic in that. I get it six flags wants money and all but i only stayed because i cant come back and use the ticket for another day but if your going your taking a big risk i'm fully vaccinated and i was still scared asl.

And don't loose the flash pass its a extra $70

A friend from Philadelphia and I usually include this park in our coaster trip travels, even if the travels are to other parts of the country. This is a great park that happens to be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The park offers an excellent selection of rides. The food is decent. Most of the employees are very friendly, and they were all efficient. Despite a lighter crowd than usual, thanks to the weather forecast, the ride ops did a great job moving people through the lines. Re-rides are permitted, and many patrons were taking advantage of this. This is one of the strengths of Six Flags parks.

This is another park that is part of an annual vacation to ride coasters with one of my friends. The park is often crowded, so that is something to consider. And the water park is NOT part of the park itself. It is separate but next door.

The grounds were fairly clean. Re-rides on coasters and rides allowed if there are open spots. Great perk! Most employees were friendly and efficient. Food was okay, at best. Having a membership is a great idea as opposed to a season pass. A few more perks added on.

Rides looked to be well-maintained.

By Kimmie J |

Please bring and wear your mask and please give the people in line ahead of you the 6 feet they may need to feel safe. Nitro is worth any wait and make sure to raise your feet to get the sensation of flying. My daughter never misses the teacups. The food is really a good value with large portions for kids to share. We visited the safari drive thru earlier in the year and were thrilled to experience the animals in our own vehicle at our own pace.

8/6/20-Just got back from a long day at Jackson six flags, Absolutely no social distancing in the lines for the rides, everyone is standing and waiting right next to each other but upon finally reaching the ride, they leave a whole row or even 2 whole rows empty between customers. If a roller coaster row has 4 seats across, and a couple sit in a row, then they leave the rest of the row empty. This makes the coaster work at a QUARTER capacity- leaving people to wait for HOURS in the hot sun to ride a coaster! There are no wait times posted outside each ride- and you need to use their app to find out the wait times, not always did the app work and it drains the phone battery! We didn’t get to ride a single coaster!!! After waiting in line for over an hour to ride the green lantern, we gave up, the line just wasn’t moving and we would have had to wait at least another 45 minutes making the wait time almost 2 hours!!! My son was very disappointed. This park is simply not worth the aggravation!!! What a letdown.

By Cheryl D |

Visited here for Hallowfest and was very disappointed. I can hardly believe that they were operating at only 25% capacity since the park seemed just as packed as usual. No one was social distancing in the lines for the rides. We got there at 2:30pm which was our scheduled reservation time and left at around 9pm. We only managed to ride 3 rides all day. Two other rides that we waited in line for broke down right before we were to get on the ride so we got out of line for those rides. They did have hand sanitizer available throughout the park and everyone was wearing their masks properly. One of the roller coasters has riders spaced out and the ride operators did sanitized the ride between running the coaster. If you are expecting shorter waits in the lines due to Covid, don’t go here. We waited almost 2 hours for El Toro which was an excellent roller coaster but I just expected less wait times and less crowds.

Check out Great Adventure Jackson.
We love it. Team members are friendly and courteous. Bought memberships a little over two years ago. So worth the money 2 meals unlimited drinks and a snack.Discounts on store purchases. I have two teenage girl they love the costers.love the atmosphere. I feel that they are safe! We are looking forward to going to Hurricane Harbor!

By Harry A |

I used to come here all the time when I was in high school, so I was very excited to come back and rediscover all my favorite rides. The experience was a bit disappointing.

Unfortunately, half of all the major rides were closed (nitro, el toro, Medusa, and Batman were all closed for the entire day). The ones I did get to go on were a blast, but I did leave disappointed about not being able to ride a lot of the roller coasters I really liked.

Luckily, Kingda Ka was open, and with a very short line. For those who don’t know, Kingda Ka is the tallest (and I think the fastest) roller coaster in the western hemisphere. If you like roller coasters, this is a must on your bucket list. It’s amazing! Glad I got to ride it again.

Additionally, I was saddened to see the park in a state of somewhat disrepair: paint was chipping off many of the signs, some of the concrete walkways were cracked, and the bathrooms were filthy. The park has definitely seen better days, but when all the rides are open, it is still one of the (if not the) best roller coaster parks in the northeast, and well worth the price of admission. It’s a shame that so many of the rides were closed when I was there, though.

Haven’t been to six flags in years and recently visited. Overall we had a good time. Especially because of the haunted mazes and houses. However, this wasn’t the case our first couple of hours at the park.

This is because we thought we packed light, wearing fanny packs, but…. was informed at our first ride; the Joker, that we needed a locker. Okay…. we checked the lockers nearest the ride and learned they were full. Then we walked to find other lockers. Which were also full. :-(

To avoid wasting any more time, we decided to take turns holding each other’s things. This way at least most of us could ride at one time.

Well…., our bubbles were burst when we were told we could not even stand in line with our fanny packs. Even though, no where on any sign did it say one cannot stand in line with items. It said one cannot RIDE with loose items.

Fortunately and unfortunately we asked to speak with a supervisor. Unfortunately, because it was a simple customer service concern that could’ve been handled by the park representatives assigned to the ride. Fortunately, because the supervisor understood our issue. Why should we waste any more time searching for lockers and why can’t we at least stand in line together, despite us not all riding together? How could they expect someone to stand off to the side, by themselves, holding items for at least an hour? It’s just unfathomable. So thankful for McCrae security and specifically Shana for their compassion.

Please do better Six flags Great Adventure. Build more lockers and hire customer experience representatives. And, keep McCrae security and Shana!

If you want to get thrown out of the park at random by security, this is the place for you. I was there with my son, waited on line for a ride and when it was our turn, the ride operator decided to let others behind us skip ahead of us and made us stand there and wait. When I questioned why she decided to call security guard Schmidt who only listened to her side and then told me and my son that we have to leave the park. Officer Schmidt was extremely rude and unprofessional, does not know how to work with people to handle situations, and definitely on a power trip. You can not reason with him, nor was there any simple commonsense used by him. What a shame and disgusting individual! Karma will get him one day!

First the pros (because there are a few): The park is clean, attractive, and well-organized. It’s pleasant to walk around and has a wholesome atmosphere.

Now the cons (because there are many): First, massive rip-off in prices. $35 for parking. $95 per adult to get into the park. [We found out later there are $70 discounted tickets online. So it’s on us for not knowing that, but even at $70 it would have been a rip-off.]

Next, there aren’t a lot of rides to begin with, and on any given day some are not operating. When we went it was the Houdini experience, the log flume, and the Superman roller coaster. We had been looking forward to all of those.

Finally, half of the park is made up of carnival games that of course you have to pay extra for. Then there’s the overpriced food, drinks, candy, and souvenirs. We had driven hours from Connecticut and it was so not worth it. We will never be back.

By Kerri O |

I gave it a 2 for the safari which was good. Everything else not so much. 3 rides in 6+ hours. Lots of rides closed off. Lot of shops closed. Under staffed. Lines do not move. Walked off 2 lines that weren’t moving along with a ton of other people. Parachute ride has 2 out of 12 parachutes running. Was waiting on line 1 parachute wouldn’t go,shut down whole ride and threw us off of line. Even kids rides were slow. Ride stopped. Over 10 mins in between rides. Kids working lines were terrible. I spent a fortune for 5 of us. Total waste. Terrible. I guess it’s COVID related and we’re totally under prepared. Protocols not being enforced anyway. Save your money and frustration and wait till they get their stuff together.

We were there for music in the parks with our school. Kids had a great time. The food is junk. But rides are fun!

I purchased a membership early March last year before the entirety of covid was evident. The park was late to open and then opened with diminished hours and no water park. They refused to cancel my membership added the missed months on to the back end for free and promised to enforce social distancing and masking. I have many pictures of unmasked undistanced individuals. I went twice before pausing my membership 5 payments in with only two visits. Now I’m vaccinated and ready to unpause they are attempting to make up revenue by selling deeply discounted annual passes along with deeply discounted flash passes to non members, only annual passes. So now I’m stuck with a membership that was unusable at first due to the pandemic and their inability to enforce masking( by the way they should ask universal or Disney for pointers, they are enforcing masking well.) now the membership is unusable because they are going to flood the park with cheap tickets to try to make back lost revenue and won’t sell the discounted flash passes to current members. Amy Ginsburg is a NJ lawyer who brought a lawsuit against them for annual pass holders hope she will take on member suits.

By Lisa C |

Buyer Beware-
Flash passes are not entry passes.
Entry passes are almost $40 more at the gate as opposed to buying online.
There is no spectator pass.
Food & water are insanely overpriced.
Not too much shade for spectators.
No outside food or drinks.

After trying to get a refund from various people and failing (indeed, only one person from SFGA responded to me in any meaningful way), we decided since we had the tix and couldn't afford to throw them away, we would go today. (We had wanted to go on the following Saturday after reservations opened but with the glitch that was the reservation system on May 27th, well....)

We booked for a noon time slot. We live about 45 minutes away so we got there about 11:15 and were told to go right in; I guess if you can go weekdays, go then.
The tour took us about an hour and our kid loved it. We stopped many times because people (including us) wanted to take photos of the animals. But it wasn't like a traffic jam, and if you can't handle stop and go traffic, or get annoyed at people who take photos, then don't go. Really no issues with the road, the amount of cars, or even with cars switching back and forth as some animals may be walking close to the road on one side or the other.

Animals were out during noontime, many were walking around. Would have been better if we knew what animals we were looking at, although you know what the majority are. (The radio station asked to tune it plays a loop of advisories and at one point in the drive had too much static, so we just turned it off.)

Port-a-potties at beginning and at end of drive. Every time a person left the port-a-potty, someone was there wiping it down.

The park is excellent all about rides is perfect.
However, if you are planning to eat in the park, get ready because you will experience a lot can food all over the place and most of the restaurants.

We visited Six Flags Great Adventure yesterday. It was absolutely HORRIBLE! The park was packed. I'm not sure how they can say that they are limiting their capacity. They never checked our reservation pass to see that we even had reservations. There was no social distancing at ALL and you stood in line with thousands of people for hours. We ended up buying Flash Passes (an extra $220 for four people) so that we could get through lines faster and ride more rides. We rode 4 rides the entire day! Yes! That is correct. 4 rides and that is after purchasing a flash pass. We had to wait in line for Superman for about an hour with a Flash pass!

Absolutely unacceptable! We've been going to Six Flags for many years - but they have really disappointed us this time. If you have any reservations about covid, social distancing or this place trying to protect you - DO NOT GO!

The cost of 2sodas and 1 ice cream came to $21 and change!, Disney World is cheaper! Then they charge for parking and even handicap parking! Never again!

Definitely a horrible experience in great adventure in NJ. We will never return. And I told all of my friends do not go especially if you have little kids. Management is terrible. You do not feel like you are a customer. If you question about their slappy work. They treat you like a trouble maker.

My family has regular season passes with three of 11 and 12 year old tweens. When we were there on Saturday for freight fest, it was really overcrowded. You can’t even walk without bump into other people.

This time we specific went on Friday night, 10/15 for freight fest. We had so much fun. Fright fest covered all 9 haunted houses and mazes. We arrived at 5:45pm, parade started at 6:00pm and after watch 5 minutes parade we went straight to reflection of the death, Fears, The Manor, then Forgotten Carnival 3D...etc. There was no line and we pretty much went into all the house and maze right away. By 8:30pm - we were done with all the fright fest attractions plus eat dinner as well. When we left at 10:00pm - All lines (including rides line) were so long.

My advice is to go early if you can. Do the shows & entertainments on Saturday, then go on weekday for haunted attractions to avoid the crows. We’ll definitely do it again. The jump scares are the best for the haunted attractions!.

Worst customer service of any theme park I’ve ever visited. I don’t recommend visiting. there’s only one way and nobody else matters it’s a shame that I supported this company through Covid when the park was closed paying membership monthly.

By Katie C |

Dirty and overpriced just like the rest of the state. Not all rides are operational, and you can tell they are poorly maintained. Staff was very rude, many drink stations are closed and i was given pushback for asking for ice. Flash pass was not honored as promised. Just not a pleasant experience. Will not return, will stick to my home park who actually values their customers.

Visited this park for the first time in many years (since I was a kid), now with my own children and what a disappointment. You would think that if we had to make RESERVATIONS to enter the park that they (SIX FLAGS) would have some control over how many people enter the park. This was not the case. There were lines for everything, not just the rides. I mean there were 30 min waits for the funnel cakes, bathrooms and more then 90 min waits for all coasters. The management team really has to do a better job of directing the lines and training its employees. We bought the season passes but were held at the front gate for some reason because we had visited the safari first (which is what everyone does) and the untrained kid running the gate couldn't issue us a card. That was a total fail on THIER (SIX FLAGS) end. The other thing that was pretty disturbing was that i was under the impression this was a family park, but I was wrong again. You couldn't walk for more then 5 min in any direction without being overwhelmed with the smell of MARIJUANA being smoked. Maybe they should have a bigger presence of law enforcement present to eject the low life scumbags who cant go a few hours without getting high, especially around all the kids. I will be forced to revisit the park because we bought the season 2022 passes because it was a better deal then just a single day pass, so I hope our next visit is better!

Six Flags Great Adventure have an excellent ride up for thrill-seekers looking to ride some of the biggest, fastest and most intense rides on the planet. That said, be prepared to say goodbye to half your pay check for extortionate food and drink prices, fast lane and sunscreen for the lack of shade in queue lines.

My friend and I were extremely blessed during our July 4th and 5th visits with the park being encased by Sahara level heat, a thunderstorm but with little to no queues.

During our visits, we opted for the unlimited dining deal, giving you a meal and a snack every 90 minutes, in nearly every food location, and drink refills every 15 minutes for $44.99 which is excellent value for money - a meal on average is around $15 and can also apply passholder discount for this. Food offerings at the park, were actually super varied and I thought the food was pretty good overall for a theme park.

During our days, I found a few gripes with the policies and approach of Six Flags. It’s clear that the staff themselves are friendly and accommodating but are often constrained to limit what they can offer. I felt they were super understaffed with staggered ride and food venue openings, so I super appreciated the positivity and the customer service employees were giving. Additionally, despite our days being very, very quiet, they continued to operate quickly in the blistering heat and kept roller coasters on multiple train operations to keep the lines short. A shoutout for Annemarie in passholder services is also necessary who was an absolute delight! We loved talking with her and she is clearly a complete asset to the park.

Conversely, If a ride closed because of a breakdown, regardless how long you waited, it was too bad. There wasn’t an exit pass given for another ride unlike other parks around the globe. The park also utilised a locker system for a lot of their rides where you literally cannot have anything in your pockets. Which would be no problem except the lockers are a one-time use and it costs $2 a pop. If you have fast lane, which they were pushing incredibly hard, they’ve moved to an electronic system which surprisingly requires you to use your phone to make the reservation. I hope you can see the issue here. Lastly, on the second day the park suffered a complete system outage meaning you couldn’t buy food or drink until after 1pm. There was no alternative or offering and when the system was fixed, they couldn’t apply the passholder discount but could still somehow charge full price all the same. It was all very weird and disjointed.

Visiting Six Flags, in my experience, is not like visiting a park like Universal, Disney and so forth. If you’re looking for big thrills, full of adrenaline, then of course, it’s definitely worth a visit, but it will not provide the same degree of experience or memorability as those parks. Six Flags remains an excellent amusement park experience but lacks in providing a theme park one.

Took my 12 and 16 year old children. Bought the gold flash pass (really expensive) and felt it wasn't really worth the money. We went on a weekday, mid August; on a weekend it probably would've been worth the money.

Was disappointed that multiple coasters were down, but still had plenty of rides to offer.

Food was nothing less than awful, or I'd have given 5 stars. My hamburger and fries were simply terrible, we waited 15 minutes for chicken tenders that my kids barely touched.

On the positive, fun was had by all. Would definitely recommend a trip, everything was reasonably clean, rides and fast pass worked as expected. For the teenagers, there's plenty of thrill rides to get their hearts pumping. Staff was pleasant, and helpful when needed.

No social distancing in line to get in!!! From parking lot to temp checks to security!!!! Hundreds
Of people in line some not wearing masks!!!!! No staff or security in the lines enforcing masks or 6 ft apart!!!!! Felt like a crowded airport!!! Not safe at all!!!!
Once you get in the park there’s enough grounds/space to stay away from people!!
If my 4 year old can wear a mask the entire day without complaining or taking it off I think these teenagers and adults can wear them too!!!!

Great place to escape for a day! Activities and foods for an entire family! Well worth the money. Always a great time.

I love six flags but unfortunately my last experience was one to take away all my positive experiences in one swoop. First and foremost I went to the six flags universe store to purchase some souvenirs and sweaters. Upon entering everything was fine. I found everything I wanted and proceeded to checkout. The cashier was very dismissive and condescending. As I paid for my items and the reciept was printed he just looked at me. I asked may I have a bag for my items. He then handed me a bag . I asked if he was going to pack it he said no due to covid 19. I had a mug he did not try to put something to wrap it to prevent it from breaking. I asked about that he said he had nothing. And mid way putting my items in the bag he showed my a piece of paper to use for the mug. After telling me he had nothing. I respect the importance of this pandemic but its funny because a women of a fairer skin tone was at this same cashier before myself.. She was instantaneously given a bag and her items were packed for her. I think if covid 19 is the reason for not packing my bag it should apply to every one. Not just the hispanic.
Moving forward I put it behind me and I continued to enjoy my visit until I was at the Wonder Women ride. Me and my lady were waiting patiently and a Caucasian woman with a k9 came along the line searching for drugs. She by passed everyone and purposely went straight to me and my lady and had the dog smell me for 15 minutes. Upon yanking the dogs leash slightly the dog sat next to me. She then left by passing everyone else on line. I was then approached by officers and security to come out of the line and was told I have narcotics on me. I told the security officer I dont sell or use drugs as I am a Service Director for Toyota for me to risk my career for this would be stupid. He asked can I take things out of my pocket which I complied and removed all the articles out of my clothing. He saw that nothing was in my pockets. I took of my hat and shoes to show no drugs were on me. He thanked me for complying and walked me back to my place on line. Its embarrassing to be accused of having drugs in front of people and being searched in front of a large crowd like I am some criminal.
I am a customer that has been to six flag for decades. Not only that I am a diamond elite member and my lady is as well. I never seen this type of discrimination and racial bias at six flags. This is something very new to me. I plan on canceling my memberships and will vocalize this to every platform. I wouldnt want anyone to spend as much money as I did to feel this type of unwelcoming treatment.

Best time ever! Love all the rides, the lines can sometimes be long, but if you get lucky and there's no wait, oh my! Wonderful.

By Kirsten L |

My friend was in a bad accident last June that makes it hard for him to stand in place for long periods of time. He has back and leg issues and the method of getting a handicap pass was ridiculous. First off, the kid at the gate said we could find the handicap passes inside the park at the flash pass area. We went and saw a line that stretched on forever. We decided to TRY to get on a ride (which we did after a long wait) and then check back. They ran out of flash passes so we asked someone at that booth who then told us to go up to a booth inside of the gates. They then directed us to go back out the exit to get the pass. It was like telephone. Every employee had a different answer. We finally obtained it and were told he needs to go online to "prove he is handicap." When we went to other amusement parks, he just briefly stated he was in an accident and that was enough for them to assist us. Then comes the pass itself. It worked for three of the rides but many of the rides we got on had confusing signs pointing us one way for the handicap pass and the other for flash pass. We were told on two to three different occasions to go all the way back down the steps and around to the other side of the ride. We used it at one ride and still had to wait 30-45 minutes. Just in general, even without the pass issues, the experience was awful. I waited in line for at least 25 minutes to get our food while he sat and waited for me. The parking is awful, the park is entirely too overcrowded, etc. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone with disabilities. There was nowhere good to keep loose articles and they basically made you pay for a locker. You also had to convert your cash to a debit card which was majorly inconvenient as there was a line for that as well.

By mbrichter |

This is absolutely the worst amusement park I’ve ever visited. It is too expensive for what you receive. The employees are poorly trained and dumb. Most of the attractions are closed for repair or because the company is too stingy to properly staff the park. The food offerings are awful. You can’t even get mustard for a hot dog and can’t order a slice of pizza without paying for French fries. The prices have sky rocketed over a couple of years ago; up to 300% more in some places. I truly hope this was my last visit to the park.

My wife and two grandkids were with me on August 26. It was a beautiful sunny day with 90° weather and the park was basically empty. You had to wait no more than maybe 10 minutes on the longest line. If there was any silver lining in this pandemic it would be you can go to Six Flags and get on all the rides that are operational that day with minimal downtime. The park is Covid friendly with plenty of sanitizer and it is clean. I really recommend anyone who is on the fence because of COVID-19 not to worry because it is SAFE here.

We went near the end of the summer, when kids were readying for school. It was still a weekend. There is an air of Disney-esque selling of items. Pay for accelerated line access, free drinks refills, and other privileges to get the best access and to have the most convenient experience. We did pay for drinks for the season but not anything else.

We arrived early enough to get rides on some of the key thrill rides and enjoyed them immensely. For the rest of the time, we stuck to the more traditional ride scene. As people in our 30s and 40s, even the tea cups can give us a thrill.

The safari which is officially retired at the end of 2023, was a highlight. I applaud the parks desire to shift from keeping animals in captivity and still found it fun to have the experience. Every other time I have gone to Great Adventure in my life, the safari has been closed.

I grew up going to this park for over 30 years. Visited this past week from eastern Long Island with my husband and kids. Fright fest opening weekend didn’t happen (with zero notification) as the park had not secured permits for the event. Many major rides were shut down or in a state of disrepair. Purchased meal plans, couldn’t use them, had to walk all the way back to the front of the park to get assistance. Two rides broken down while we were on them- el Tori & Harley Quinn. The experience was mediocre at best and really disappointing as a lifelong fan of the place. The company really seems to be dropping the ball on maintenance and training of park staff.

By rtraveler2004 |

This park has some very awesome rides and attractions, but am not a fan of having to get a locker at nearly everything as they do not have bins in the stations (like at all other parks) to store stuff. Some attractions you can't even bring anything into the queue including phones...which you can't take any pics in line or anything. The lockers are a $1 each time too. Every coaster was open though except for Nitro. I also would not recommend getting the photo pass right now because EVERY photo station was closed...except for Kingda Ka. So I was able to get one photo all day with my all day photo pass. Other than that, the day was great and lines were not really that long. Employees were pretty friendly all around too.

With the merger of amusement park chain giants Cedar Fair and Six Flags last summer, I had concerns about what would happen to the parks, especially those on the Six Flags side since Cedar Fair has 51% control of the new company.

Everyone soon found out as the newly formed board led by the former Cedar Fair CEO began to remove rides from most of the parks during the off season but waited to announce the removals until close to the start of the 2025 season.

This park lost around seven rides, including two coasters. That is not the way to treat a park.

When I visited this park in July with a friend, the atmosphere seemed different. The park grounds looked to be clean, and the rides seemed to be running well. However, several rides were closed this day. People have posted on social media platforms that some of these rides have been closed multiple days.

The workers, especially some of the ride operators and security personnel, are much more rude.

I still like this park. It has potential, but the Cedar Fair side of the merger is not playing fairly with all the parks. Despite the issues, this park and other Six Flags parks need our patronage before they suffer the same fate as Six Flags America will face at the end of this season. Cedar Fair and Six Flags have nice parks; Six Flags is not the antichrist of parks as some would make them out to be. Though some may not like certain parks, please remember that the park you hate is one that someone else loves, and vice versa. Closed parks just makes remaining ones more crowded. We need to keep the ones we have left open and running well

Nitro is the best roller coaster. This is the first ride we go on! Kingda Ka is thrilling but Nitro last longer and so does the thrill. The park is clean and I have never had any negative experiences. There are always staff and security around.

My family has Season Passes for the 2020/2021 seasons. Due to COVID, we have not visited the park since December 2019. We didn’t want our passes to go to waste, so we decided to make a visit this summer. We took the NJ Transit bus from Port Authority. Tip for that - the ticket window is in one building but the gate is in the other building. They are connected on the second floor. We went this past Sunday. The weather was extremely cloudy with a high of 79, which, I think, made a big difference in the crowd level. We didn’t wait more than 30 minutes for a ride. My kids are just too short for the bigger rides, but I only waited 30 minutes for Nitro. Another tip - eat at off times. We were hungry when we got there, so we had lunch at 11:00am - no long lines for food, and plenty of tables. My son is autistic, and long lines can be difficult for him, so we always get an accessibility card for him, which is a Godsend. As far as COVID safety goes, while masks are. It required, and social distancing is pretty much non-existent, we decided as a family to wear our masks all day, with the exception of eating and riding on certain rides. Overall, we had a wonderful time. I always expect crowds and mediocre food, but if you have that expectation going in, you can still have a great time.

The experience is to get the adrenaline up to the maximum. Many of the rides are extreme. You have to live the experience.

The operator of the M&M ride Zack was so rude to me and my sister he told her she wasn’t disabled and made her get off the ride and walk back to were we entered to get on the ride which was to much for my sister her legs are bad he thought it was funny and told us to tell on him because “they” will do nothing to him...... we will never attend six flags again......

I recently took my daughter and her friends here for my daughter's very special, 13th birthday. On October 3, 2020. I bought passes for 7 of us, and also had to purchase 2 parking passes. all of which was completely understandable. I also would like to point out that I have waited almost a whole month because I don't write reviews etc.

On October 3, myself and 6 others came to Six Flags great adventure for my daughter. We have been up before for fright fest and it was outstanding! I had packed everyone reusable water bottles, as I know that most water sources have been shut down due to covid. When I arrived at the park it was stated no outside bottles. So I said ok, we will just have to use the water fountains after all!

We the entered the park after temperature screening and wanted to begin our adventure! We went on the joker and had waited approximately 2 1/2 hours to ride, although the estimate was one hour. But as everyone knows it is only an estimate. So to get morale back up we ran through the cemetery and make our way to Kingda ka.

I also had my 10 year old son with me who loves Halloween as well. As we walked through the cemetery the actors behind the fences were talking about their boyfriends and snapchat to a worker who was on the orange reflective jacket. My son was so excited. he said hi to them and they just stared at him from the fence (all of 6 ft away) and continued talking about their boyfriends and drinking. so I thought ok, maybe bad timing and tried to redirect the kids as it was completely out of character and not something they needed to listen to. I understand talking, but this was just bad business. He asked me why they weren't stopping talking to even scare him, and I just started shouting on to the next!

When we arrived at kingda ka, they said it was approx. a 2 hour wait so we went to the superman. As a group they wanted to go on the ride without Mom so I waited at the entrance. I went to the bathroom and went to check on the water fountains because everyone was starting to get thirsty. As I had previously thought, ALL water was shut off. now what? Ok I have 7 people, and I am a single mother and worked very hard to make this day happen for her.

I waited in the concession line near superman for about 10 minutes and when I got to the window they were out of water. And it was 5$ for one Dasani bottle of water. I found another vendor and reluctantly paid 30$ for 6 bottles of water. I was really upset that I was FORCED to purchase this. I understand covid, and regulations, but there should have been an allowance to bring in our own if not provided. These are children and water is a necessity!

I had now been waiting approximately 50 to 60 minutes for the children to come out of superman and I heard the man say there was technical difficulties. I asked if I could go make sure the kids were ok. He told me no. If you are a parent, then you understand that this is not an acceptable answer when you are worried about the safety of your children. I apologized and said I have to go see if they are ok. I walked through and could not find them, only to see a group of people stuck in take off position on the ride. I looked through all of the faces and could not see them.

I walked back out and looked around again just to make sure we hadn't missed each other. I now started to panic a little but knew that if something was wrong they would have found someone to contact me, as I had all of the phones for the ride. Now going on 1 hour and 45 minutes, they shut the ride down and the children came out. they were the next people in line.A little sad and nervous, we tried to save this day.

At this point we had been at the park since 1:30, and my daughter had only been able to get on one ride! It was 7:30!!

Again trying to keep it moving and happy I brought everyone over to get food. They all wanted boneless wings. After waiting in line...again for 15/20 minutes. They informed me they were out of all of the wings and boneless wings. I began to get extremely frustrated at this point but kept moving forward. I ordered a bunch of chicken tenders and fries and had to get everyone water.

I ordered 8 bottles of water, because at this point I was past thirsty! So in total I spent 115 on a few chicken tenders, and $70 on 14 Dasani water bottles. SEVENTY DOLLARS for 2 water bottles for everyone for an entire day at the park. Which normally costs $5 for a 24 pack in the store. I had NO OTHER OPTION, so I bought the water and hydrated to kids. and that was the deal! I took pictures of the signs above the water fountains and of the concession. I couldn't believe this was allowed.

Ok fast forward. We moved down the line now coming up on 8:30, and still ONLY ONE RIDE under our belt we went to go hit kingda ka. Which, surprise! Was ALSO now having technical difficulties and would most likely be closed the remainder of the evening.

We went back through the cemetery and to the center of the park to see the clowns and zombies roaming, and to save the spooky for my son. They were really neat! I loved how the masks were incorporated into the costumes. It wasn't like the last time, but with everything I didn't set the bar too high on this visit.

We went over to Batman, and the one- the dark night, was running. The kids FINALLY got on to a second ride for the evening! There was about a 30 minute wait. I was really happy they could at least end the night on a ride. They came out and went to hit the other batman ride, forgive me, I don't remember the name. GUESS WHAT! That one was ALSO DOWN DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!!!! It was time to wrap up the night so we picked one last ride, the children wanted to do the carousel swings. The wait was about 40 minutes but they did get on that. It seemed to lighten the mood a bit after the evenings events.

So, as I stated in the top it took me a long time to decide if I was just going to suck it up and keep my mouth closed but this was just past that point. Not one aspect ran smoothly. And I will not get her 13th Birthday back. I was able to clown around and try to keep them smiling but after spending over $700 in total for this trip, I am extremely unsatisfied and disappointed. I could have taken them anywhere but my daughter loves Six Flags. And I normally do as well. Between the lack of rides, the staff conversations in front of the kids, the overall morale, and the $70 I was forced to spent on 14 water bottles (and that was the DISCOUNT for purchasing sets of 2) I needed to write this. 3 rides total, a full day, and $700 later.... let alone kingda ka was what she wanted this whole trip for! As a single mother that works 3 jobs, I tried to give her a 13th Birthday she would not forget. I was just so disappointed.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER for the following reasons:

1. Drove 6 hours from Boston for the biggest attractions (the kingda ka, drop towers, green lantern, jersey devil, wonder woman, etc.) all to be closed without notice and it wasn’t weather related.

2. Minimal to no sun coverage on ride lines or in the park in general with multiple young and old individuals passing out or fainting with no medical help to be found!

3. Parking was as much as the tickets, are you joking?

4. FOOD! 20 DOLLARS FOR A CHICKEN BASKET WITH 4 CHICKEN TENDERS AND 7 DOLLARS FOR A WATER! and if you want to drink your sorrows away I wouldn’t recommend because beers are 20 dollars a piece!

wouldn’t recommend!😣

During Covid, you have to get creative to keep your kid happy and growing. To stay safe and have a fun educational experience, why not a DRIVE THROUGH SAFARI! Right in New Jersey! I remember going when I was young and wondered if it was still around and low and behold it was! Backed up the kiddies and off we went. It was a lot of fun and my 3 yr old was amazed to see animals up close that she only saw on TV or in books. I recommend this to anyone

First and foremost, this is the the weakest amusement park I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. Most of the "high thrill" rides aren't worth the title. Superman, weak. Batman, weak. Green Lantern, weak. Dark Knight, super weak! Skull Mountain, super weak! I think you get the point. Now I will say, I enjoy thrill rides, and consider myself a roller coaster connoisseur, so you may feel differently. However, I will say that there were a few rides that we enjoyed and most of the rides were open. I'd recommend Kingda Ka, The Joker, Nitro, Twister, Slingshot, and Drop of Doom.
You have to make reservations in advance, which you'd think is to control the amount of people in the park, but no, the park is packed. Social distancing isn't enforced in the lines, but enforced on certain rides. Roller coasters are filled to capacity, but other rides are operating at 30% capacity. Make it make sense!
They try to nickel and dime you to death. You pay to park, you pay to get in the park, and you pay to cut the line. All of these are expected, but what's the point of 3 different tiers of flash pass? If I pay $50 extra to not wait in line, that should be good. But apparently, that only gets you a reservation time to ride. In order to actually enjoy the benefits, you gotta pay at least $80. But to really get the benefit, it takes $115! They say they don't want people to steal your belongings, so they tell you to put your bags and phones in a ride locker. Every ride doesn't enforce this rule, but apparently it's a rule on most rides. The lockers cost $1. That may not sound like a lot, but if you're not going to allow me to leave my belongings on the ride platform, like every other amusement park, at least provide the locker for free. And, since the rides are spread out, it's not feasible to leave you're stuff in one locker all day, so that's $1 for every ride that enforces this ridiculous rule! Either enforce it 100%, or don't enforce it at all.
We had a much better experience at Hershey Park and highly recommend them over this overpriced, underwhelming theme park. We have no plans of returning.

I totally agree with edgaro734. Never ever purchase the flash pass in advance!! We purchased Golden Flash Pass in advance online because they said"you can purchase the pass on site, but the number of the flash pass is limited, you can save time if you purchase online" and it was my son's birthday party.....but the reality was ... we had to wait for 2.5 hours in the line just to receive the flash pass device!! I could not believe their unreasonable inefficient way of operation! We stayed in the line only because we already paid $250 and it was non-refundable! But I want Six Flags to explain why we should wait for more than 30 min to receive an already purchased flash pass!? Our 2.5 hour waiting time for the device made the flash pass totally not worth the money. It was almost scam level of the mal-operation. I think someone in charge should be fired!

We bought the new season pass along with the their new meal plan and went there last week. There are quite some rides not open , but the waiting line is not long. The worst thing is when using the meal plan. They changed the plan to exclude the snack and increased the price so much. But they removed so many options for meal plan, and there are only 1 or 2 meals that are eligible for meal plan now!! With the inflation, I understand to increase the price, but why remove so many options! Expecting to eat only chicken strips everywhere for the whole day if you buy the meal plan, even other meals have the same price you have to pay for it if you don’t want eat chicken strips for the whole day! Snack are all gone from all meal plans and all the good snacks are also removed from the plan, you can only get cookie and pretzels. If I knew now the meal plan downgraded so much, I would never bought it. They did not have any spec on the website about the changes. With the pricing junk food, no wonder less crowded now. There are people abusing the system, but why we regular customers should be the ones to get punished! This will be our last season with them, and we will definitely switch to Dourney or Hershey next year!

Horrible experience. You will have to wait in line in 95 degrees weather with small kids which is not worth for freezing cold water inside . Stuff is rude and telling you to go to the long line to buy a day pass in addition to the season passes. Crazy right after you buy 90$ for 3 members of your family and can’t even use it. Pre

Normally I am OK with Great Adventure however this time was a disaster.

The lines were long but not horrible.

THE BIG PROBLEM is the people jumping to the front of the line claiming to be disabled. Like the people who claim their dog is a service dog but really isn’t.

I don’t have a problem with a few truly disabled people getting a break however the number of people jumping to the front of the line using a disabled pass was crazy. I just don’t believe they were all disabled.

There were times the line almost didn’t move for 20 minutes because of this. It doubled or tripled the waiting time to get on a ride.

Great Adventure should do a better job of policing this because until they do it just isn’t worth going there.

We will never buy a season pass or patronize any of your locations ! How dare you belittle a mother and her family for her shorts ! We see ppl walking around with less and see through clothing ! Ashamed is what your business should be

If you want to spend a boatload of money here for a mid level experience be my guest. Nothing was worth the money it cost and to make things worse I'm now signed up with a year membership for a park I don't even live near that the company will not let me cancel until I end up paying about 200$ in total. Don't waste your money people. It's not worth it in any means.

It is an excellent place to enjoy the family day, the cable car ride at night makes the view very special. The only thing I was sad about is that the most radical attractions are closed between November and March, so I couldn't get to know it, but I didn't pay attention to that when I booked the visit, so I'll be back next year when everything is open again.

The moment people go through the front gates their masks are either down at their chins or used as bracelets. The in-the-park security (ALL YOUNG LADIES AND BOYS) walk around like they don't have a care in the world. They walk right past people not wearing masks and don't say a word. Then you go into the bathroom and people aren't wearing masks in there? But why would they? If people are allowed to walk the park without wearing the mask, why would they put it on to go to the john? I would say if you are worried about covid, avoid Six Flags, because it is apparent they just don't care about you, just about their own pockets. Why else would they hire young people as security who just don't give a crap.

I was at Six Flags today and I am a diamond elite member. We first went to get out refill cups witch was a 39 minute wait. Then we had to get our skip the line passes that came with the Diamond elite pass. The line to get the flash pass was an hour. The line was to long and by the time we got to the front of it's we would've finished a ride already so we skipped it. Then we went to the log flume and the line was 2 hours. When we do finally got to the front of the line they stopped putting people on the boats. I asked a guy what the problem was and how long the wait is but he did not respond. We were waiting their for another 20 minutes not knowing what was going on and then a lady fainted. We did not know what to do and we could not leave. It was terrible communication and we did not know if the ride was going to go in. After ANOTHER 20 min they finally told us to leave and did not give us any direction. We decided to go to guest services and the line was 2 hours long to get skip the lines since we wasted time in the log flume. We came at 11:00 and we left at 8:00 and we only got 4 rides done WITH flash passes. I think six flags can change this issue by having a flash pass building ONLY for members and ine for nonmembers, OR they could have you order the flash passes in advance online because I think that it is unfair that I have to pay extra to wait on a 2 hour line to get a skip the line. Also they could'be had better communication and told us in advance whst the problem was so we did bit have to wait in a non moving ride for 2:49 minutes.

We went there on Yom Kippur. Got there are opening. There were no lines. Got to go on all of the best rides, some multiple times. Towards the afternoon, it got more crowded, but it was still and amazing experience. Highly recommend for thrill seekers! Also Kingda Ka wasn’t as scary as expected. I don’t recommend going on the Joker. In September, there were tons of Pink Lantern bugs flying everywhere. It wasn’t fun.

Amazeballz!! Great coaster park. It's the largest six flags in the country and we really took our time and enjoyed it over 2 and half days.

Rip off!
We got platinum season passes and figured we’d go to try their haunted fright fest, and it wasn’t included. $30 extra on top of the pass for the haunted attractions you have to wait ridiculously long for. Lines are long for everything and you pay for literally every little thing. If you bring no bags, just a phone, expect to pay for a locker, because they make you :)) what happened to putting your belongings off to the side, at your own risk? Save yourself wasteful some time and lots of money and try somewhere else, maybe Dorney Park, instead. They don’t make you pay an additional fee if you have a pass.

This place is ill-equipped to handle crowds. I went on a Sunday evening in mid-October. We planned to arrive at 5:30-6pm and were going for the haunts not the rides, hoping 4 hours would let us see at least 3-4 haunts before the park closing at 10pm.

Nope.

The line to park was not horrible but did eat up about 20 minutes just sitting. Next was about a 3 minute walk to the entrance.

This is where we lost a lot of time. 45 minutes to get in, just to have our already-purchased tickets scanned.

That’s way too long, and our 5:20pm arrival now put us well past 6pm to get in. An hour to get in is not acceptable for tickets purchased online at these prices.

The paths to haunts are not marked at all so make sure to grab a map. The maps aren’t great but are far better than the app. You can get maps at any Fright Fest info booth, or The Last Drop store just to the right you enter the turnstiles.

We managed to get into only 2 haunts in about 3 1/2 hours. We spent about 40 minutes on-line at Aftermath and over an hour and a half for The Manor. The walkthrus are brief, maybe a minute or so. We also lost about 20 minutes on line for Reflections before bailing due to the line not moving at all.

To top it off, we tried to do Bloodshed but they closed the haunt at 9:40- with about 6 people in line.

The few scarers we saw around the park were decent, and a couple were very good on the lines waiting for a haunt. Great Adventure employees are also pleasant and helpful when you ask where something is located.

But the overall experience stunk, especially when you pay extra for admittance to the haunts.

You can also buy an Express Fright Pass for more than the normal Fright Pass. Those lines appeared to move only slightly better, with people saying they had waited an hour and 20 minutes for a haunt (so maybe 10 minutes better).

1-2 hours for a ride is bad, but 45-60 minutes to swipe your ticket to get in the park, pitiful.

By Trek333845 |

There were multiple ride breakdowns at the park on Saturday with my kids on two of them for 45 minutes and 7 minutes. In addition, Six Flags shuttle service is only to the park, the kids will need to walk across the street to the parent pickup area. No idea why they would not have shuttle service back to the parent pickup area.

By Buckeye Nation2 |

This place is great for all ages, as it contains a collection of kiddie rides and a collection of thrill rides. I had a great time with my friends, as the longest line we had to wait in was only 30 minutes. Rides did not frequently break down and we met a cool staff member who hung out with us on his day off! The season drink cup was really clutch and the food was tasty. People obeyed the rules and the park was very clean. The only reason one point was taken off was because some staff members were not so friendly and they looked like they hated their job. Finally, I recommend this place if you visit New Jersey, but be prepared for some snobby staff members.

visited six flag at Jackson recently with one day ticket. could not wait in line to do upgrade because I was solo travelling with two toddlers and the waiting line was like taking 45-60 mins. So went back home at upstate NY and thought about upgrading to season pass because my kids love to go there. I contacted guest relation though the website chatting .To my surprise, I was told that the ONLY WAY to do upgrade is to drive 4 hours back and re-visit the Jackson location to have this done IN PERSON>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>....................
VERY UNFRIENDLY policy! How come this whole joke happens in today's high tech world where you basically can do anything remotely when you physically can be anywhere else? Especially this is theoretically not a complicated process at all....you have my ticket number you can my credit card number and my all information to verify my previous purchase. How come can't this be done through internet but has to be done in person???
No wonder six flag is sinking...
Anyway, no one has to go there with all other options out there. Apparently six flag does NOT need that many of businesses...

By Norma1015 |

Cannot believe what a great time we had here
Staff is doing everything they can to do what is best for all. Park is clean and easy on rides. Park was nit at all over crowded so wait time were less than 30 minutes
Sanitizing stations every where. Employees were friendly and helpful and Cheerful

By michael |

I lost my hat on a ride bruh. I loved that hat… pretty good overall tho. Except the dark knight ride sucks, not worth the line. Nitros the best, and get there at opening for kingda ka or else you’ll wait for hours on a weekend

By Eileen K |

Thrill seekers--come early and get in as many rides as you can! Only place with more top class coasters is Cedar Point. Highly recommend Jersey Devil, El Toro, Kingda Ka, Wonder Woman, Superman... and especially Nitro. If lines aren't your thing, get the Fast Pass - it's well worth the $$.

By Brad R |

Waited in line 30-50 minutes 3 times only to get close to a ride and it breaks down. Pizza slice $17. Kids size Dip N Dots $10.. Overpriced park.

Some staff were super friendly, while others looked like they hated being there

Not worth the money spent

By Sunshine786139 |

My day was ruined when I had to pay $40 to park! That's outrageous. The Roller Coasters and rides were a lot of fun and the crowds were manageable and friendly. Though I was disappointed that the log flume, Roaring Rapids and Houdini rides were not open. Perhaps if you shop around to find discounts, or you have a car load of people to justify the parking price, it would be better.

By suntan_girl |

The staff were very nice. The park is clean. Lots of variety of rides.
The food at the chopsticks was not worth the money spent.
Takes 2 days to go through the rides
Some rides were closed both days we were there, like the ferris wheel.
Rides like bumper cars , and runaway mine train and dark night coaster have seen better days.
The justice league Ride doesn't have the 3d glasses. So it gets dizzy

By Jean M |

We've enjoyed the parks several times this year since getting season passes. Kids, 12 and 13 years old, enjoyed the milder rides but hope to do some thrill rides before the end of the season. Enjoyed the main park as well as the water park Hurricane Harbor. Next time will use the app for mobile food ordering. Food was good!

By Patricia |

We went for six flags fright fest. Our experience was horrendous. A member of our party got on the sling shot which broke down before takeoff. Also there are certain rides not included in admission the sling shot being one of them. It was a lot of walking in circles and ending up in the same place because the signage was not clear. The scare actors were scarce and the haunted houses(2 we tried after 1 hour wait each) were mediocre and laughable at best. There is no line regulation at the park which led to teenagers hopping the barricades and skipping people who have stood in line upwards of an hour or more. And if confronted was looking for a fight. We had a terrible time here and i wouldn’t recommend coming on a saturday. Also the trolley car ride looked old and rickety and i didn’t have confidence in going across the park in it after several rides broke down while we were there.

By Devon W |

Me and my family bought season passes, best $350 I've spent! We have been 12 times (combined with Hurricane Harbor). We go (or try to) once a week. Our ride is 1hour and 30 minutes each way, and we are gonna do it again this Saturday (7/11). The flash pass is worth it, especially if you go on the weekend, it get pretty busy. The best ride we have ridden is the Nitro, I think the minimum height is 54" most of the big rides are. Buy online it will save you time in the long run, and if you can get the season passes, it's hard to do everything in one visit. They do a great job with the pandemic, but we monitor ourselves really well with the guidelines and self awareness. We haven't had a bad experience, hopefully we won't( fingers crossed)!

By Barbara E |

Went to Great Adventure with my husband, son and granddaughter. I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was. It's not an inexpensive day, but it is totally worth it. The rides are fantastic, food is good, and the employees are knowledgeable and very friendly. I'd recommend this to anyone!

By Corona C |

I spent money to get my son a platinum season pass for his birthday. Wasn't aware the pass only included admission of the season pass holder for the safari. I had two other people in the car and was expected to pay over $30.00. Second, my son was stuck on a ride for over twenty minutes. The staff wasn't forthcoming about what was going on. When I questioned the staff about getting my son down, the employee was laughing. The supervisor wasn't any help as well, she was nonchalant and told me to fill a complaint. The funny thing is, I spent time filling out the complaint report and no one ever contacted me. We loved the chicken wings, fries, and rum punch. Staff however need to work on their customer service skills.

By lizakq |

This review is from my experience. First of all the park opens late (10:30am) and when you get there most of the rides are closed or running test on them ( couldn't you do that before opening hour). There should be a sign on their website letting you know how many rides actually run with the least amount of problems so you can make a better decision of going or not. Mind you it's my firs ( and probably last time) visiting and was so excited and expecting so much more even though I've read some bad reviews. The park was clean. Enough bathrooms. Food bad as in most theme parks. Crowds weren't as bad but I couldn't get much done because every ride kept breaking down.

By Roberto N |

It is not worth the wait. Línea for atracciones are really long, there is probably overselling of flash passes so línea don’t move constantly but rather erratically. Various rides kept
Closing temporarily so it was hard to plan your day. The park appeared understaffed, and the rides not properly serviced as they kept closing them. Information isn’t reliable, wait times listed on the app are no indication of real wait times. On the bright side, staff is friendly and helpful, and the rides are fun.
We arrived at 11am to the park, and left when the park closed, and we were only able to take 4 rides (and having skipped lunch!).

By Keri |

The reason for visiting Six Flags for 10 weeks straight all weekend was for Dead Man’s Party !! Why would you take away the best part of fright fest. We have been going for 20 years to watch them. I will no longer be visiting since what we love about the park is no longer there.

By Mary P |

Stay in a nearby hotel and spend a few days at Six Flags. That way you can relax and stroll through this BEAUTIFUL park. There is not another like it anywhere. The landscaping is magnificent. Flowers everywhere. Broad walkways, easy to follow directions.
Rides are fantastic, fast, exciting, colorful, guaranteed to please. Plenty to do for little kids. It's a beautiful enough park for much older visitors to enjoy strolling through, even without going on rides. Safari rides are great for those who don't ride coasters or any rides. Shows are fun, colorful, great for entire family. Fright Fest is the BEST!

By Vic A |

Highly unprofessional staff. They are all kids that don't know how to act professional or do their job. A staff member by the name of Joseph or Josephson that was monitoring the tail end of the Superman ride just minutes before park closing on New years day (right before the fireworks) was extremely rude and disrespectful and caused a scene in front of other guests and staff. He became frustrated, visibly showed it in front of everyone, causing a highly unprofessional commotion, and then refused to let me ride after I called him out on his mistake. Even other guests were disturbed by his off-putting behavior. Extremely rude and disrespectful, just minutes before closing for the season. I am deactivating my membership of 2+ years and posting a negative review of the park on all review sites. Disgusted by your staff's behavior and it will cost you a customer.

I request for a refund it say I have until 8am to do a refund because it's the day for me to use it. That fine its 615am by this time I have a hour 45 mins. So I proceeded with the refund, A week pass I cant call no live person so I write an email, they tell me I cant get an refund because they are not giving refunds. No where on the company website says NO REFUNDS. They are desperate for money and is trying to hold on to every penny without telling the customer there will be no refund.

By Lily C |

Whether it’s with friends or family we always have a great time here! There are things to do for every age and the rides are worth the wait. I will admit on weekends in the summer the wait times can be crazy especially for rides like kingda ka. There are plenty of rides though and also many food options. If you are looking for a tradition theme park this is definitely the place to go. It is worth it to come here for a day trip even if you live an hour or two away. There is nothing like six flags great adventure in the area!

By Travelgirl77710 |

It was a perfect day in the park. There were no crowds; we basically walked on all the rides we wanted to go on, even usually busy roller coasters. We ate lunch at the boardwalk food vendors. The park was clean and staff were friendly.

By JillEHG |

My review is based on their Covid practices. A mask was required to get in and temperatures taken upon entry. After that, mask wearing was not enforced at all. Very few people had masks on on line and few following 6 feet of distancing. No one monitored the lines. The line queues were not modified so even if you left distance between the group in front of you, you were right next to the group to your right and left. Only on one ride were we told to sanitize our hands prior to boarding and only saw one ride sanitized between riders. Saw a security guard leaning against a fence in a quiet part of the park - maybe he could be walking around enforcing mask wearing. Also an issue with ride operators on Wonder Woman lasso. He let people pick their own seats so if they left four or five seats between them no one else could ride. If he had taken the time to sit people according to groups and left a couple seats between they could have fit twice as many riders. They should not have opened without proper staff and training. Was a total disappointment.

Beautiful park with so much to do. Good food and well maintained. Great for the whole family. Rides are fun but there is so much to see when the lines are long. Staff does an excellent job.

By Anne Marie H |

The good part is the flashpass-gold covers everything but the newest rides and truly cuts the wait time down. In addition, the flashpass staff is extremely kind and professional. Kudos to them. The secret of this park is coming on a weekday if you can manage + a flashpass if you can afford. There are plenty of stations to hydrate/stay in the air-condition in 90+ degrees.

Some feedback for the park- if possible, be aware of where you place your staffing. For example, it appears you have very elderly people working in the hot sun as best as they can, and seemingly young/healthy people bouncing around air conditioned stations. Yes, I don’t know what goes into the decision making there, but it truly seemed like some of your older staff was struggling in the heat.

Second, I know due to COVID a lot of places are having staffing issues, but please try to staff more people in high-popularity places. In one of your popular air conditioned restaurants (I think the one that looks like an ice cream palace?) there was no rhyme or reason to the lines. Seating was an issue for people trying to eat. There was one girl playing on her phone and refusing to let others sit at a long table with lots of seats. It turns out she was saving it for just one person and then they refused to let others share the table with them. Meanwhile, people (including the elderly) were standing up trying to feed/hydrate their children, and standing up eating themselves. That’s bs. 4 out of 5 on a hot weekday with the flashpass. Not bad.

I am disgusted by their treatment of the animals. I only saw their “wild life walk” the great adventure park. I did not see the safari. The only animal I saw was the cheetah. I wandered into the wildlife walk, a tiny neglected subsection of the park, expecting to see more native animals. I understood they had a safari which i had never been to and assumed their treatment with the animals was up to par. I could barely stand to look at the cheetah. It was in a neglected and dirty cage. The animal itself looked like it was not in a good mental state or physically healthy. This beautiful animal meant to reach speeds of 70mph is confined in this cage of id say no more than 650 square feet. disgusting and heartbreaking. Avoid this area at all costs with your kids this is not something anyone should be promoting. Six flags do better. You know this is wrong

By Truthful Reviewer |

Fright Fest was horrible. We are season pass holders. It took us 2 hours to get into the park. The website said reservations on line are necessary, which we did make. However at the park, we found out they were letting anyone in, even without any reservations. Hence the long, long terrible lines. Once you are in, you find that the park is packed to the brim. There’s no place to move around. No scary stuff at all. I did not see any cast members or anyone in costumes. Long lines for every attraction. Long lines for every food vendor. We got on one ride and left. Would not recommend this park at all for fright fest. Things have really gone downhill after COVID. The only scary thing about Fright Fest is that I wasted precious minutes of my life on this park. High risk of COVID too because of all of the close proximity, and the park took zero precautions. I would never get season pass or go to this park again.

By Iileen M |

I didn’t really understand why they emptied let’s say 3 seats empty and three seats so close to each other. This isn’t covid safe. It’s should be every other seat should be empty. You have three random people touching each other and so close to one another. Doesn’t make sense. Overall it was fun, they have hand sanitizer for abt every ride.

By eilat59 |

Definitely a big worn around the edges, but a super fun park with plenty of activities and multiple food outlets. Much less crowded on the days with just night sessions. Spectacular Halloween displays and characters. It’s what an amusement park should be.

By Irvin A |

Absolutely way too expensive. $45 for parking?? Come on now! Everything is almost double the price of other parks. Sucks that this was our local Six Flags for years, but now will think twice coming here. I understand, everything is getting more and more expensive. But, this is RIDICULOUS.

By Emma R |

I always enjoy going to six flags. Look for parking deals and try to bring your own food and a cooler because the food there is not so good, yet expensive$$$. Enjoy!

By Alexia B |

Poorly managed, dirty, and doesn’t care about families…It’s really too bad because the bigger roller coasters here are a lot of fun (when they’re open), even if most of them do need updates and new paint. A lot of the park looks abandoned and sad, there’s often trash everywhere. The prices have gone up and so has the Meal Plan, but they offer even less with their giant price increase…I’m not really sure where that money is going because it’s clearly not into the park. I think the moment we were totally done with this place is when they refused to give my keys back to me that were under a ride (just over the fence, I could see them sitting on the grass). I waited until the park closed in 40 degree weather with 4 small children but they still wouldn’t help me. Lost and found had been closed most of the day for some reason. Security guards shrugged and sent me to Guest Relations, they sent me back to security guards. I left my car and returned the next day with my husband and they told me that maybe next week they would get them?! I have children and I really needed my car back. They were my only set so I had to leave my car there for 4 DAYS until I finally had a spare set made. They still haven’t called me about my keys…I don’t think they ever intended to give them back! They even threatened to tow my car multiple times even though THEY had my keys! I probably
Should have called the police. It’s seriously impressive how badly this park is run. We won’t be renewing our passes and neither will the families we normally go with.

By JerseyGirl1215 |

I personally always enjoy coming here! The crowd levels are usually pretty good, not too crowded, so the waits are not very long. The only time when the crowd levels are high is during fright fest when the ride waits can be as long as two hours. Most of the rides are a walk-on which is nice if you don't have a lot of time in the park. They have a nice selection of roller coasters and flat rides! I love high-thrill rides and this place does not lack a high thrill! The park is kept up pretty well; restrooms are pretty clean for the most part, and they keep up the place in general. My only negative is the price of the food, which costs roughly $16.00 for a meal and doesn't include the drink. I recommend purchasing the all-season drink bottle since it pays itself off in 5 refills, and can be used all season. I would also recommend a season pass because it pays for itself in two visits, and includes parking. This would benefit you in the long run because your pass is paid off if you come back a second time. There are also some cheaper eats right outside of the park on 537 which is a great way to save money if you don't want to pay the expense in the park. To comfortably get around the theme park, you should allow at least 4-5 hours.

To all the people frustrated with the long lines to purchase your Flash Pass...
You have to understand that keeping those lines long is a sort of tactic so the Flash Pass remains exclusive.
Sounds crazy, right? It's not. Think about it...
Crazy long lines deter individuals.
So do incredulous prices.
But the Flash Pass is exclusive in that respect because if it was easily accessible, EVERYONE would purchase it, therefore defeating its purpose. You'd be frustrated if you and hundreds of others just spent XXX dollars to skip one long line just so you could all congregate and wait in another LONG line!
This is what they try to avoid by keeping the Flash Pass exclusive with high prices and lengthy wait times to purchase it.
Why do you think the line-cutting rules are barely enforced on the general ride lines? Having to deal with literally GROUPS of kids cutting me in line and making up their own line "reservations" (NEWSFLASH: there's no such thing as reserving spots in ride lines!!!) - it's unbearable to deal with. So you cave and spend money on the Flash Pass to avoid the unfair general lines. I know. I'm one of those who purchased a season Flash Pass because I couldn't take all the line cutters in the general lines.
But enough with the FP lesson for today.
This is my home park, and we have bragging rights for some of the best rides in the world! And I can't wait for the return of El Toro!!!! LOVE IT!
We are home to the tallest roller coaster and pendulum in the world. It's always a blast!
I go throughout the entire season and can always get on the rides with or without a flash pass. The addition of the single rider lines for certain attractions was a brilliant idea! Never had to wait for a single ride all summer!
I don't get why people complain about the lockers. Who the heck wants to take all of their belongings 456 feet in the air? And the locker price isn't bad. Less than $10 for the day? Worth it for YOUR SAFETY!
Love having a Starbucks in the park, my dream come true. Johnny Rockets has great burgers, you can get chicken fingers pretty much everywhere.
Fright Fest is cool-I go just for the rides, not the attractions. This park is a must for Fall.
This year was my first time for Holiday In the Park.
It was magical, just really enjoyed it.

My daughter and her friends 14,13,12 had a great time at Hallowfest. I was blown away with the security and covid-19 precautions. The park was social distancing, wearing masks, cleaning, hand sanitizing. It was not over crowded and wait times for rides were reasonable. The halloween themed mazes and areas of the park were fun and spooky and over the top which is to be expected by Six Flags. We can’t wait to go back!

Hello! I have a question, I'm going to New York in September and I would like to know if the park closes, because the page says it is closed in September 😔 I hope not because I'm going from Spain!

Seriously, I grew up near Great Adventure and I used to go as a kid but have not been in years. Took my daughter and two of her friends the other day! it was great! highly recommend! Everyone there was very well behaved and the employees were excellent!

Our family has had season passes for the past few years here, and we always had a great time. I agree with JennyKarana's review 100 %. The staff made our recent visits there miserable. The staff there went into overkill mode about wearing masks, even in the searing heat, where it is less healthy TO WEAR pieces of cloth on your face and breath in your own carbon dioxide.

If they want people to wear masks in the rest rooms or anyplace indoors like the arcades, fine. But outdoors is overkill, especially where young children are concerned. My young children were miserable from the experience. They should focus on keeping the park cleaner and dealing with the bee problem they have as opposed to enforcing draconian measures on their customers that are not going to do much good in the long run.

I am only going to Great Adventure this year due to having purchased season passes last year. Our family will not be renewing our passes until they do away with their outdoor mask policy.

So I am not much of a roller coaster person, but everyone else I was with were. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves. If you plan to go more than once, I recommend springing for the season pass. Well worth it, especially since this year parking is included. Lines can get long, so I recommend going during the week if you can. We went on a Thursday and again on a Saturday. We got lucky that Saturday lines were not long at all. Some of the biggest thrill rides, we rode multiple times in a row. Lot of drops, turns and spins. Food is expensive, so I suggest car picnic and fill up on soda in park if you are on a budget. Splurge for the season pass cup. It is worth it. Will definitely be going back again.

We got Season Passes been there 6x already
We always have a awesome time here.
From Entry to Exiting.
Everyone there especially Food Court very nice
No complaints.
Highly recommend

Lots of great rides. Some very imaginative ones we hadn’t experienced anywhere else. We attended for the Christmas event so not all attractions were open but a good selection. Park looked stunning with decorations. Crowds were great. Plenty of people there having fun but no more than ten minute lines and often none at all so we could ride attractions over and over.

My only issue was with the lockers. Many of the major rides require you to leave everything you own in lockers instead of just being able to leave your bag at the side and pick up at the end like at many other parks. You literally can’t have anything with you on the line at all, This is very slow and time consuming. Also I imagine on busy days horrible to be stuck in queues for hours with no phone, snacks or water bottle allowed.

Then you have to keep moving your stuff from one set of lockers to the next around the park as it can only stay two hours. Some rides such as Houdini there are no lockers anywhere close. Such a waste of time.

Also a disaster if you are a few minutes late coming back because then the locker will lock you out until you pay a $1 overtime charge. The problem with this is that you have been forced to leave ALL your belongings IN the locker so how can you pay the money when your money/cards are inside? I wasted 45min trying to get someone to come and liberate my belongings because of this stupidity. Personally I would ignore these rules. Wear something with a zipped pocket and keep at least your credit card with you at all times.

Such a shame this is such a mess as the rest of the day way great.

This trip we had Grammy, teens, and young ones. The holiday show was great lights were nice. Fire pits let us warm up. Family fun.

Diffently start your visit. With the animal safari. Drive your own vehicle. Thru out 325 acres of this safari. It's awesome to see that six flags is helping save these wild animals giraffes black brown bears elephants. Etc

Improve ticketing, slow and unclear for those not buying online. Doesn't accept cash, CC only is terrible.

By Jenny K |

The park is empty which is very nice but the staff ruined the experience constantly yelling at my toddlers about masks. World Health Organization issued guidance that children 5 and under should not be wearing masks.

Being outside also makes it virtually impossible to get infected. It's not like people are hugging each other in groups. Everyone has plenty of space around them. Really would be nice if staff had some common sense. No wonder the park is so empty, who wants to endure a whole summer day in masks and force them on the toddlers.

By Jason W |

Been wanting to visit here with my nephew for some time as we are both roller coaster enthusiasts. Kinga Ka was definitely a highlight. A short ride but thrilling. Most of the rides weren't the most comfortable, but we had a good time. Although they had many coasters, there was plenty of smaller rides for the kids as well.

By Richard W |

I took my family here in late Aug and found the six flags park to be very good in many ways however we had major issues with their “Flash Pass” activation that we had paid an Extra $228 for.

When we asked to use the flash pass the staff manning the rides didn’t seem to know how the App worked so after being rejected about three times and still not managing to find a staff member who could help we were directed to the Flash office 10 mins away.

The staff member in the flash office explained that I had to scan a QR Code (in their office), then go to another website, then provide a new username and new password etc etc. The staff member tried to help and do it for me and so we all walked back to the ride, waited in line again only be told that we had not been booked on that ride so we still didn’t get on.

We do feel somewhat ripped off having spent $228 on the flash pass that we didn’t even get to use, not even once.

I wrote to the Park twice (guestrelations@sixflags.com) and explained (as above) and they completely ignored my emails.

It was very disappointing to have paid so much extra and receive nothing for it. Also, if the extra payment comes with so many obstacles / different websites and QR codes to scan then the least they could you could do would be to train their staff manning the rides as to how it should work.

In summary, the park is fine but I would advise against anyone using (paying for) the Flash Pass as it costs a great deal extra and from our experience it is near impossible to use. We also witnessed other people complaining about their Flash Passes not working whilst we were there.

C'mon people, its 2025, getting an App to work is not rocket science and you should at least acknowledge a complaint when you receive one.

By Lynette B |

Park is very disorganized Bought fast pass and no one was there to direct the lines for ride access. Regular line park holders were ready to argue because they felt we were skipping the lines. This is not safe for riders of all ages. You can not let your kids alone in the park because there are ghetto people there ready to fight. Not enough security around the park. The Rides were amazing.

By lamont c |

this place is lit...go at night and feel and watch the park transform into adrenaline heaven fun for all then kids have their own section of the park as well...

By Alok A |

The Flash pass pick up experience is ridiculous. What is the point of having a pass if the pick up line itself is a bottleneck and we wasted an hour. SHOULD be declared upfront.

By Lounap211 |

Wasn’t sure what to expect during Covid but we were pleasantly surprised to see that everyone was following the guidelines set in place. We got to ride every coaster we wanted to and wait lines were minimal, since the park is at half the capacity. It was a very hot day, but thank God they had cooling fans with water spray.
Yes, some rides were closed, but overall it was a great experience. Seems like from some of the reviews that people expect perfection at every turn and find something to complain about no matter where they go.
The daily ticket prices were reasonable at $42.

It used to be great in the 1980's. Now??? It's a gangland of rude unruly youth, that run in gangs. They have ruined what was once a great place to go. Went there after several years once we had children, and the low class people that attend that park now, can keep it. Disgusted. Rude employees, unclean bathrooms, not enough water stations, forcing you to pay to remain hydrated. Back when I was younger it was a respectful clean place. Now, you can feel that it had a heyday, and is just going downhill. It will close soon,
Keepin' it classy as always, New Jersey. ....oh, btw. These same young unruly crowds haven't made it to Hershey Park, thank god. Once they do, Pennsyltucky won't know what hit them.

Most of the good rides were closed. i drove 1,400 miles to add some coasters to my tally. Unfortunately they were closed. Our family couldn't enjoy the Safari either because it was closed. really disappointing!

They announce tickets starting at $44 but they charge you $94

Parking was $35

We encountered 5 rides closed due to maintenance issues by 4pm

They have no water fountains to force you buy their $5 water bottles
A cup of soda is $6.38

Food is ridiculously expensive and poor
See pic of their hotdog for $9

have season passes and live in Jackson. I visited the six flags park around 8 PM and was shocked that NO one was manning the Parking area and NO one was manning the secured entrance gate. Anyone could have entered the park and with a semi automatic weapon and did some serious damage. That being said i managed to get on two rides and started to walk to the boardwalk area to try to win my grand daughter a prize. It was nearly 9 PM and the park was closing. The only arcade game still open was Whack a Mole. A group of people walked towards the game and the employee announced last game of the evening. As there were enough people playing in order to qualify for a better prize i gave the attendant $5 for the game. She advised that they only take credit cards or vouchers. NO CASH. I gave her my credit card and lost the game and she immediately closed the arcade stand. When i checked my credit card card account two days later i noticed a Great Adventure charge of $40 which i naturally disputed. Not only did Six Flags deny my claim. My credit card company did the same based on the information given to them by Six Flags. What a petty and pathetic way to do business to a Gold Member season pass holder whose entire family has seasons passes.

I had an amazing time and was glad I purchased a season pass which I recommend. We ended up going back the next day so the season pass saved us money for everything, parking and park entry. We got discounts on food as a perk of having a season pass. I also recommend the all day drink bottles which is only $10 additional for one day tickets. If you bring the bottle back on your next visit, it’s only $1.99 to refill.
We had such a great time especially because there were no long lines to wait on for rides both days, Thursday and Friday. The children got to ride almost all the rides they loved multiple times.
Great customer service, good food… it was the highlight of my summer so far. I look forward to returning this summer and in October for Halloween thanks to the season passes.

By Pantera B |

The rides are amazing if you love Roller Coasters. They have other stuff for the whole family but I focus on the coasters. On a crowded day the flash pass is worth it for the rides. Everyone there was great and friendly and helpful. It usually clears out mid afternoon so staying late is a better strategy than getting there early. Open to close is best :)

By Lorraine R |

The park was clean, the staff pleasant and accommodating. Good variety of rides and the food was good and priced well.

This place used to be a fun place to go once upon a time now it's is the sham of a junkyard place to visit everything is low class the food is unedible the games are all rigged and the rides are buckets of rust with lines an hour long each... 1 or 2 rides total in the course of a 10 hour day... go find something better to do.

By Margaret C |

This was our first visit this was such a bad experience. Our passes wouldn’t work we had flash passes our passes didn’t work it didn’t give us 50% off it didn’t work for our meal passes there where young kids with out adults trying to start fights we ended up on guess service my family and I got suck there for three hours and our problem wasn’t solved the staff was so rude as a single mom i saved up for this this is all my daughter wanted to do for her birthday and it was the worse experience we have every had gone with our family which was a group of 23 people this was the worst money ever spent. My son and I almost got separated while leaving the park due to people just pushing threw my son has aADHD along with other things and due to the staff being so mean and rude it had caused my son to shut down I would never go here again people working the rides would let their friends cut the lines. Gift shops shouldn’t find anything in the right sizes I would never come here again

This place sucks. every time I come here it’s a horrible experience. today I took off from work to go to great adventure just to get there and find out that their is a power outage. I understand that the power outage is out of their control but what they could have done is be honest with us and tell us that the park isn’t going to open today and tell us to go home but instead at 10:30 am they tell us that it’s a minor delay. after waiting for about an half hour they than said it should be open within the next hour. than around noon they said it will open at 1:30. Well 1:30 came and went than they said they didn’t know when they were going to open. it was a total waste of a day and all they kept saying was well your tickets are still good you can come back another time. I wish they told me that first thing when I first got there because I could have done other things rather than being dragged along by six flags staff. I live 2 hours away and I don’t have any time off. I took off so I could go there during the week because the weekends are too crowded and they won’t reimburse me for the 35 dollars that I paid for parking. what a joke. I hate this place. This isn’t my first time here this year. the other times where horrible as well. I could go on and on with complaints but I won’t bother because I know no one cares anyway but I hate this place. Also the safari ride was very boring.

This amusement park has so many rides! Lots of roller coasters and other thrill rides! We finally got to ride Kingda Ka, the tallest roller coaster ! That is finally checked off my bucket list! One thing you don't hear a lot about, is the drop tower that is set in the frame of Kingda Ka, which itself is more than 400ft tall...It just kept on going up until you finally drop down! That is the best drop tower I have ever been on in my opinion!! The park was very clean and had lots of food options. There were a few restaurants/stalls that were closed due to a shortage of staff, but that didn't ruin what we were coming for...the rides! Unfortunately El Toro was closed! All in all, it was a fun day and worth the trip from Montreal!

By Yonatan Wiraseputra |

We had a wonderful time there, didn’t expect it to be family with young children oriented but it is. It wasn’t over crowded like we expected it to be so we could really enjoy the park. Also another good thing is the stuff the sell in the park have good reasonable prices, unlike other theme parks that usually put rocket prices on stuff in the park, all in all it exceeded our expectations.

We came with New England season passes expecting to go on the safari. We had placed a reservation. However, we we declined at the gate. It may have been an unsupported park, but we had been able to reserve.

By jen s |

I read both Nyanchibi and Edgar O's reviews, and I couldn't agree with them more.

I went to Six Flags Great Adventure a couple of Saturdays ago, and both lines at the Flash Pass building AND the Flash Pass Express station were over two hours long. I expect there to be lines when going to Great Adventure on a Saturday. However, I paid for the Flash Pass for the ENTIRE SEASON -- I should not have to wait more than a half hour for this service.

This is not a problem with the staff who work at these stations. This is an operational failure and mis-management from whomever is in charge of Guest Services/Flash Pass. I should not have to wait TWO HOURS for a service that enables me to skip the line elsewhere.

This is a very fun place and my family enjoyed it very much- having things to do together safely during this past year has been trying and we were grateful for the experiences we had here!

Was told by a ride operator on the Jersey Devil to be quiet and I dont want to hear it! after I spoke out about an issue where she allowed a person to wait to get the front row and didn't allow anyone else, obviously she knew the person because they were laughing and joking before hand, sent six flags several emails explaining the issue with no reply, wrote corporate, no reply, so all these coaster and log flume issues is big karma on these 🍑 holes! I suggest another park,it might save your life!

I visited on Veterans Day.

Firstly the website is awful and was really hard to find out if the park was going to be worth visiting or if it was going to be Christmas Day where only some rides are open.

Rides were all excellent with Nitro being a standout. Park was empty so plenty of rerides.

At about 4pm I decided to get food and made the mistake of visiting steak place on the boulevard.

Firstly I waited for 8 mins before staff acknowledged my presence. Then I ordered a philly cheese steak meal. The philly cheese “steak” was inedible. The beef was grainy and disgusting. I ended up buying a funnel cake as I was still starving

The Safari - First and foremost, the drive thru safari is awesome! What an amazing treat to have such an amazing attraction in the middle of New Jersey. When they converted the safari to a ride, it was still excellent, but the drive thru experience with the incredible array of animals roaming on tremendous acres of land is not to miss experience.
The Theme Park - The theme park has its good points and bad points.
Games - For the first time, we decided to throw some money away at the Boardwalk games and we ran into the most pleasant employees that I have every run into at a theme park. Andrea was running the Super Mario Racing game. She noticed that we were trying to have my kids play with as few competitor as possible and was so nice trying to help us to make that happen. The man next to her, whose name I didn't catch, allowed my younger one to have the fun of trying to hit the beach ball with the bean bags (and not count) after my older daughter was not successful in the game. And Anthony, who was running the basketball game, coached me and cheered me on as I was attempting to shoot my second ball. The three of them made the Boardwalk experience so much fun for my family.
Food - I can only comment on a few of the restaurants...mainly our (former?) favorite...Best of the West. It is a really nice themed atmospheric fast food like restaurant which sits right on the lake by the flume. This has always been our go to choice when using our food passes. However, throughout the year, the customer service, menu choices, quantity of food, and quality of food have deteriorated tremendously. For the first time ever, when we were completing lunch yesterday, my daughter said, "Maybe we should just eat peanut butter sandwiches at the car on our next visit. The food is really bad." The corn was tasteless, the grilled chicken sandwich is gone, there is no longer an adult chicken tender option, there were no fries with the kids meal, both the pulled pork and brisket were bad, they portions were small (which maybe I shouldn't complain about) and they have added a $2 surcharge for almost every meal. We also tried Chopstix once on an earlier visit and the portions were small and the food way too salty (even for Chinese food). The snacks are generally very good and always fun for the kids. They love Dippin' Dots, the soft serve, funnel cake, and soft pretzels. We tried the Churros but they were a little stale. We also noticed the lunch/snack meal plan went from $40 to $60. I hope this is only temporary due to the pandemic as we don't go enough times in the year to warrant the huge price increase.
Rides - For the most part, if you are a roller coast enthusiast, it is a don't miss park. Although we enjoy an occasional roller coaster, no one in my family is looking to ride the tallest, fastest, twistiest, standing, sitting, lying down, standing on one leg with one arm in the air roller coaster. Our favorites are Batman, Nitro, Runaway Mine Train, and Skull Mountain. Some of which may be favorites due to height restrictions on other coasters.
The absolute best ride in the park, hands down, is the Sawmill Log Flume. It is a great ride...although they need to make uphill portions smoother. Second best ride is the League of Justice (shooting) ride. (Both the flume and justice league are great family rides!) Probably followed by one of the aforementioned roller coasters. Though the sky ride, bumper cars, parachute and ferris wheel are stll great rides (though for some reason they never run enough parachute and ferris wheel cars.) I have no clue as to the economics of running a theme park, but, if I was running the park, I would enhance some of the existing rides (with better themes and fun additions) and add a few family rides. Maybe after smoothing out the start of the flume, add a covered bridge to the part of it before the last uphill. You could add projections inside that change with months or holidays. Have a water tunnel (drippy old mine) over Runaway Mine Train as it dips down before the end of the ride. Darken Skull Mountain and add glow in the dark scary characters, etc... Add a Jungle Cruise like ride by the flume or a nice train ride through the woods (which was there a few decades ago). Honestly, how fast, twisty, or contorted can your body get before a ride is just uncomfortable and not fun (eg. Joker, Kingda Ka or El Toro)?
They definitely need more and better family entertainment. Anyone remember the amazing diving shows and circus? Random thought, maybe Six Flags should team up with Grounds for Sculpture and create an alternate combo season pass (which might work better for families with young kids)?
The park is well maintained, it is pretty clean, and the bathrooms are in very decent shape for a theme park (though the stalls are tiny).
For the small amount of money they charge for a season pass, (even though as of next year you will need a membership to go to other SIx Flags park) it is well worth it to go a few times a year and have a Six Flags Day!

By travel_koala_pacific |

I give two stars because some of the rides are fun. Other than that, it is extremely crowded, and you smell pot smoke everywhere you turn. Based on a conversation I had with security, there are some big time safety issues. I guess that explains why a man was completely surrounded by state police as we exited the turnstyles. Ugh. And then we got to pass people screaming at each other in the parking lot, as we hurriedly made our way to our car. First time in 32 years I haven't felt safe here :(

Have been a season pass member for many years and will continue to be for years to come! Can’t wait to come back to the water park and new coasters.

By April S |

Wow. This park has experienced substantial decline while making promise after promise it failed to keep. As a long time season pass / member to the park, I have seen nothing good come out of this season and into next season. The park has more inoperable rides than active ones and depending on the day you go, the attraction may be running or not. Then, Flash was promised in 2024 and they failed to deliver that promise. Then, they promised a new Fright Fest extreme. After failing to deliver that for 3 consecutive weeks leading up to Halloween, why bother getting smothered and held in excessively long lines when Fright fest finally opened much closer to Halloween... Lastly, they promised a better experience and instead took down another quarter of the park including the world renown Kingda Ka. Good luck if you still choose to visit and plan for a terrible experience.

This visit could’ve been ok but the most of the ride operators were awful. Lazy, attitudes & one particular ride ooerator should be a trash collector or bathroom cleaner since he obviously doesn’t know how to interact with people politely. We went here for something different than our usual Hershey destination. I can honestly say after not going here for 23 years that we’ll probably never go again. We were on the Swashbuckler ride & the operator had a heavy accent, mumbled & had his mic turned down so low that once on the ride with people talking you could not hear the ride instructions, I had my one foot up on the ride & he stopped the ride, came over to me & rudely told me to get off the ride, no explanation, I asked why & he said because my foot was up, he could’ve handled this completely different, I am an adult & felt humiliated, treated like a teen & his behavior was rude & inappropriate. The ride operator on Deja vu sounded like a drill sergeant when giving ride instructions. No thanks, I’ll pay double the price at Hershey for a more pleasant experience. Never again!

Never again! We were so excited and realistically did not expect to have enough time for more than a few rides. After spending over $160 ($25 for parking, $60 per ticket x 2, service fee, and tax) and after spending almost 2 hours to drive there with gas and tolls, we ended up on not a single ride after 3 hours at the park. Everywhere you turn, the park is charging you for something. I'm surprised they didn't charge for using the rest rooms! It's a long walk to get to the adult rides, and you pass many arcades, food kiosks, and souvenier shops. Superman ride was closed. Got in line to rent a locker before getting on the ride line. (Many rides require even keys to be checked in, which means more lines each time). Got on line for about 1/2 hour for the Green Lantern ride, then as we got close to the front of the line, there was an announcement that the ride was being stopped indefinetely as something was wrong with it. We kept hearing very loud, fast, and intellibible announcements. We decided to try another ride. Tried to go to Kingda Ka ride and was told it would be a 2 hour wait! Decided to try the slingshot, even though it was an additional $15 each, but the line to purchase the ticket was at least 20 minutes, and the line to take the ride was about 1/2 hour. At this point, we were over it. If we had paid an extra $90 each, we could have bought the cheapest Flash pass, but that only reduces wait time by apx. 25%. And the park says the pass is not good for every ride. I'd say that unless you have time to spend all day on line to ride a few rides, or are willing to pay an extra $170 per ticket for the quickest Flash pass, it's just a waste of time and money. And the crazy thing is that the park was not as full as it can be! The parking lots were only 1/2 full. Hit ridiculous traffic on the way home, so our 8 hour trip was a total bust.

From the moody membership woman to the flash pass ticket line ( almost 2 hr wait) couldn’t use the online flash ( paid over 400$) had to get a pass from “flash pass headquarters? and guy in near end beginning of line had been there over 40 min

I am writing to share our unfortunate experience with Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Corporation, particularly regarding their treatment of families with neurological disabilities.

As a family with an autistic daughter, we hoped for a supportive and accommodating environment, but instead we faced numerous challenges.

Our troubles began 2022 when Six Flags Corporation stopped offering deluxe dining meal plans to all membership holders that paid in full rather than paying monthly for deluxe dining meal plan ( lunch, snack, dinner).
Despite holding a Six Flags Legacy Diamond Membership we weren’t provided the opportunity to repurchase deluxe dining meal plan ( lunch, snack, dinner) with our 35% off discount which brings annual meal plan down to 58.49 annually ( 89.99 -35 % = 58.49 )

All 2024 season we didn’t visit at all, however continued to pay for 3 SFGA Legacy Membership passes.

2025 I began contacting guestrelations@sixflags.com, vipsupport@sixflags.com requesting that our family be afforded the opportunity to pay in full or or pay monthly for deluxe dining meal plan just as all other SFGA legacy membership holders.

Six Flags customer service representative Jana informed me that Six Flags would not provide our Autistic Daughter with her snack !
This was not only disappointing but also frustrating, as other SFGA legacy membership holders receive snack, discounted pricing for deluxe dining meal, we expected some level of understanding regarding our situation.

What made matters worse was the we were treated by Six Flags representative’s. Jana response was abrasive and lacked empathy, which left us feeling disrespected. To add to our frustration, when I attempted to escalate the issue, I encountered further difficulties with SFGA customer service. I was hung up on multiple times by different representatives, including a supervisor Shana, who also dismissed our concerns with resolution.

As a family, we felt let down by the lack of support and understanding from Six Flags. It is disheartening to see a corporation that claims to promote inclusivity and fun fail to provide respectful and accommodating environment for families like ours.

I hope that Six Flags Corporation take these concerns seriously and work towards improving their customer service and policies to better support families with neurological disabilities in the future.

Six Flags Corporation 3 1 day exit passes isn’t the resolution we had in mind. We have repeatedly requested that Six Flags provide contractual benefits afforded all Six Flags Legacy Membership holders.

I’m from Ohio so I’m used to Cedar Point and Kings Island. Six Flags was decent, but not as good as my Ohio parks.

We went on a rainy evening before schools let out so we pretty much had the park to ourselves! The next day we were there with a bunch of school groups, but were still able to ride all the coasters we wanted to! We even finished around 1:30 and decided to head out for the day. Unfortunately we didn’t feel it was worth it to ride any a second time and compete with the school groups.

Favorite coasters: The Flash, Joker, Medusa, El Toro

By lizakq |

Update: Decided to give it a second chance and so glad I did. Got there from opening to closing hours and had a blast with my grandkids. Mind you we visited a Saturday in the middle of July but it still was manageable (did not had Flash pass ) don't know if it was luck or just people worried about bad weather. We got to ride every roller coaster except for Nitro and the waiting time was not bad (longest time in line was for Wonder Woman ride and from my perspective it has more to do with the design and how long they take getting people on and off the ride; but security first. I really would encourage to visit if you are interested and form your own opinion. This visit changed my mind and I would definitely visit again. Park was clean, lots of eating options and really great rollercoasters.
My only criticism this time is that the bus to drop you off at the guest drop/pickup spot wasn't available at closing time and had to do the long walk in the dark.

I've been going since 2022, at first, I actually loved the park and it was one of the few places where I could be without being worried or scared of anything bad happening. But for real, it was good because of the dining pass needing only 90 minutes between sessions, a snack pass, and honestly decent food, plus the employees were chill and lines were shorter overall (which can't fully be controlled). Each year after however, the park has been going downhill, and I really think that inflation shouldn't be an excuse. The food has lost quality a bit, meanwhile they also shut down the Chinese place. Also, they environment has downgraded tremendously, and honestly worries me. The removal of useful passes and adding complications towards line in general is only most of the reason why the park has downgraded. I know I'm yapping but honestly, I used to feel welcomed and excited to go, but now every time I go I stay worried about all the complications.

We have visited Six Flags many times and it is always a great day out. There are plenty of rides and we had two new rides this year (Jersey Devil and Medusa) with the Flash coming out in 2025 (I believe). For the first time in so many visits, King Da Ka was open. This is the tallest ride in the world. It is worth it. Very fast and fun. So many of the regulars are still there and still a great day. Superman, Batman, Nitro among others are great rides. Fun activities for kids of all ages

I wish the giraffes were closer and also walking around at that exact time .
The lions were sleeping..
The ostrich/emos where walking around being silly,so they were definitely a good watch. The bears looked cute and cuddly.,
It can take about 1 hour or more depending on the activity of the animals.

We had fun

My family and I frequent six flags NJ as we have memberships. This past Friday was our 1st time going since COVID-19. I was mortified to see that safety rules, social distancing and wearing a mask was not enforced. There were signs on the bathroom of how many people could be in there at one time but there was no one to count and make sure that occupancy was followed. I walked into a crowded bathroom and was mortified. The way the bathrooms are set up, unless you walk around it is hard to tell how many people are in there at one time. Rides were not cleaned after each use and there were no social distancing in lines. I watched security walk past people wearing no masks and said nothing. Staff were rude and the food was horrible. Yes there were hand sanitizer stations but not in front of every ride, some were in weird places and some pumps were empty. Good tables were not cleaned after use. I will not be going back during this pandemic!

THIS COOPERATION RIPPED ME OFF AND CONTINUES TO DO SO VIA CREDIT CARD! THIS EMAIL WAS WRITTEN BY ME TO GREAT ADVENTURES TODAY!!

Good Day, My name is Lucy Castro and on July 4 2019 I bought a season ticket to Great Adventure, I am 55 years old and do NOT get on rides. I went so that I could go to the water park. Upon arriving I was told that the water park was closed because it was filled to capacity, needless to say, about two hours of walking around I went home. The next day I called and spoke to a representative, explained my situation and asked her for a refund, the representative was really nice and stated that she would. A year later, not only was I not refunded 113. 92 but I am being charged 7.50 a month since August 2019, which i just found out yesterday by a representative at Visa, shocked and appalled, i tried calling Great adventure corporate office where there is NO one that I can speak to, I called a free other numbers and there is NO one that I can express what I am going through. I NEED you to stop charging me 7.50 to my VIsa, one I am not sure why I am being charged and two I paid 113.92 to go into the water park which never happened. I need someone to call me and help me understand why I am being charged 7.50 since August 2019 and I need someone to explain why my 113.92 was never refunded to me. I am very disappointed with great adventures and the ONE time that I went is causing havoc in my life!
Thank you in advance for your help Lucy Castro

We took our 10 year old daughter and one of her friends for her birthday in August and ended up going back the next weekend as well since they upgraded us to free remainder-of-the-season passes. I’m writing this review in December because we just purchased memberships as one of her Christmas gifts.
First off, know that a one-day admission is about $90 per person, which means we spent approximately $400 just to get in the door. Parking was another $30, lockers (which are required of you have so much as a cell phone as they don’t let them on the rides) are another $15 or so. Drinks are about $7 for a soda or $20 for a refillable cup. A soft pretzel was $11. My daughter wanted a T-shirt and I said no because it was almost $40. You get the picture: everything is crazy unreasonably expensive. For 4 people to visit for one day we spent roughly $600... which is why buying the membership instead is worth it.
Secondly, the park was PACKED. Lines were about 30-45 minutes for almost everything. And they kept closing rides down — twice while we had already been IN LINE for 30 minutes and an hour, respectively. And the worst part is they really don’t enforce their supposedly strict line-jumping rule... so everywhere we went we had groups of teenagers who would just brazenly walk past everyone in line and ignore the shouts and say “What are you going to do about it?” and laugh. We are laid back people and don’t tend to make big deals out of things, but after the 4th or 5th time it happened we were pretty angry.
The positives (we obviously bought memberships at our daughter’s begging so there must be some positives): the park has more roller coasters than any other park we’ve been to. And they’re good ones. Kingda Ka closes down twice during our first visit so we made the second visit just to finally ride it. (Be careful — it IS rough on the body!) Nitro is amazing and oddly had the shortest line so we rode it over and over.
We also noticed that the ride operators were all especially friendly and seemed to go out of their way to be high-energy and amusing.
And finally, the kids love Six Flags. They don’t care about the expense or the line-jumpers or the post-KingdaKa cerebral headache. They just revel in the thrill and excitement of it all. And it’s kind of super worth it just for that.

This is the closest park to one of my coaster trip buddies, so we visit it each year. It is often hit or miss when visiting, but this time it was a hit. The park was not as crowded as in some years.

Most of the employees we encountered were friendly. The rides were in good condition, and most of them were in operation on the day of our visit. We did ride the Jersey Devil, the new coaster, twice. It is a good coaster. However, like its counterpart Wonder Woman at Six Flags Fiesta, the seating of the coaster is very uncomfortable on your legs and hips. My friends thought so too. Hopefully, a redesign on the coaster car will be done soon to give guests a better ride.

The park seemed to be pretty clean. The food was edible. This park is not known for its food quality, so I don't expect much.

Overall, it was not a bad day.

The COVID 19 temperature check, security check and hand sanitizers that were throughout the park. The mobile app for ordering the food was very easy.

I get always do memberships with unlimited dining for my children myself and husband. Now it's totally changed we would go 4 days a week. I must find some where else cause now I would be be paying 300 a month and only get 10 meals compared to 90 mounthly which was so much affordable.so unaffordable not for poor people anymore. Thanks great adventure

Just be warned that apparently the Safari closes at 4:00 if it’s too hot. Found this out the hard way as we had purchased tickets in advance and arrived at 4:15 (from out of state) only to find out it was closed. Mind you this isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website nor did it come up when I did the annoying web chat prior to my visit when I had questions about tickets for the Safari (it’s impossible to talk to a person via phone by the way—answering service just disconnects you eventually). Yet, somehow the closing time seemed to be common knowledge for park staff because both the parking attendant and customer relations staff knew this. Fortunately the parking attendant didn’t charge me to park and I easily got a refund from the customer relations rep. They definitely need to update their website and better educate their web support staff about what actually happens at the park.

Olivia the manager from sugar shack on main st. she was the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with, she needs to be fired, she should not be a manager or ever work in customer service again!!! The holiday bundles included unlimited popcorn throughout our visit however no one at the park knew where we can find popcorn, we asked over 6 people and everyone was clueless. We arrived to the window at sugar shack before 9pm which is the time the park closes, we knock and ask for popcorn, Olivia turns to us and does the cut off gesture with her hand and turns around to continue cleaning. We knock again because I don’t know what she means by that, we were trying to explain to her that we have the buckets and she does it again, rolls her eyes and walks away. We go to the place next door to tell her to come to the door, because we were simply looking for a respectful response. She was hiding in the back of the kitchen and refused to come to the front. We went back to the window and she was hiding behind employees. She sent out her employee to tell us they couldn’t give us any popcorn because they stopped serving it at 8:30pm not 9pm. We explained all of this could of been avoided if she would of come to the window like an adult and tell us “we stopped serving popcorn at 8:30pm”. Treat us with respect and not like animals behind a glass window. I am completely disgusted with her behavior and she needs to be fired! She is unprofessional and does not know how to treat clients. Others there who witnessed the situation told us she did the same thing to them, she was nasty and rude to everyone who went to the window. She is the reason why we will NEVER go back to this park and I hope everyone sees this review and does not go to this establishment. There were so many other negative interactions that occurred that day, but it is just to much to write at this point.

I Signed up for a gold membership because it was the most value for the money. We enjoyed the park all year and had little complaints. My issue comes with trying to cancel the membership.

I thought that since it was a one year membership it would expire on its own, it didn't . I saw another monthly charge after the year passed and I just assumed that I was mistakenly about the date I started the membership. Nevertheless, I tried to call and I found out there is no direct number to talk to someone about the membership.

After searching their website and going through all the tabs, I could not find where to go to cancel. Finally I googled it and I was taken to another page to cancel.. Once I entered my info I I was surprised to find that the site was down. I figured that I could stop by the park to cancel in person but the park was closed that day and I was directed to do it online.
Finally after checking on the site and few days in a row I was able to get the canceling through after going through several pages of as trying to get me to reconsider. After going through the daunting task finally it was done, or so I thought.
What do I see on my bill months later ? yep a new monthly charge. They charged my card January 6 2020 . I guess that's who they start the new year off.
Anyway at this point it's fraud! I canceled the card and reported it to my credit card company.
Summing it up , if your going to get the membership for only one year use a prepaid card so you can pay for it and forget it or use cash..

outrageous prices for shortened rides, mediocre food and not much to do.

I expect things to be expensive. I understand that it is a money pit and it’s meant to trap you. But it’s insane! After ticket prices you end up paying $43 to park and everything you encounter from then on is jacked up about 500% for maximum profit.
I was kind of getting it all past until we went to have lunch and I looked up at the sign above the pizza place where it listed their prices.
but on top of that, there’s not a whole lot to do there are the massive massive roller coasters that people go for and I suppose if you’re really into those, maybe that would make it worth it but the other rides are pretty lame. even the merry go round only goes around 3 times. That ride that’s like a pirate ship that swings back-and-forth ,higher and higher ? it’s laughable … 4 swings to reach the highest height and then back down.
So many of the rides are closed with no explanation.

We basically spent the day walking endlessly refilling, our water bottles at water fountains, and standing in ( mercifully short) lines for 1-2 minute ‘rides’.

We live in Los Angeles and I haven’t been to Magic Mountain, but my daughter has and she said that it’s far better in terms of ride quality and duration.

On the plus side, the people who work there are very nice. There was just one cranky Ride operator, but beyond that lots of smiles and very helpful. And the park seemed very clean. The restrooms were clean and things ran rather orderly.
But it’s in no way enough to make me go back again even my 16-year-old, 13-year-old and 11-year-old nephew and 8 year old niece agreed that it’s not worth it anymore.

i love this park especially i rode kingda ka to times for the first time on july 9 2022 it was the best one yet and i love green lantern and medusa and i just love the whole park the only flaw is how expensive food and drinks are like it’s 18$ or 16$ for chicken fingers with fries or wing w/ fries or even a burger i think they should lower prices. I think a staff member could have been nice enough because i have a card that had 6.38$ and i was gonna buy a churro and the total was 6.39$ i was one cent short and they wouldn’t give it to me but i payed differently. A rude staff member at congo rapids she was like asian wearing glasses ton her phone she stuck up the middle finger to me and my friends but we tried reporting her but they did nothing about it i just think sixflags could change that a little now but that’s i’ll i will be saying.

I wouldn’t recommend Six Flags Great Adventure to anyone. I treated my son for working hard this year at school. It was a hot day. He wanted to ride the roller coasters. We ran around in the heat and when we arrived at the rides, either they were closed for maintenance or the lines were an hour long. We tried using the app, it wasn’t updated at all. Why have an app if you don’t update it, the park is big and how are we supposed to know what’s happening on the other side of the park?! I would never visit again.

We went for my daughter's 15th birthday. It was a big mistake. Just getting out of the car, we were met with a strong smell of weed. The pot smell was on and off throughout the day. It is not a family place. There is no dress code. Anything goes! One woman walked around the park with a dress that had F@!K written all over it. Bad language use was just a given. We pre-purchased our flash passes, which we then had to wait in line for 2 hours and 15 minutes to pick up. You could only schedule one ride at a time! Waste of money and my time! All lines were extremely long. Then at the end of our wonderful day, we were met by more people getting high in the parking lot and vomit by our car door. DO NOT GO TO THIS PARK!!!!!

My boys (16 and 20) and I had an amazing day. Cedar Point is our home park. We visited Six Flags to ride Kingda Ka. It did not disappoint. The other rides were great too. Such a big variety! Many surprises, like Houdini, throughout the day. Nitro was our favorite. The pretzel twist and Rita’s was my favorite to eat. The Summer Vibes Festival made for quite a bit of fun photos.

with the new rules you would think the croups would be tolerable WRONG!!! there is no way they were following limit control... the food was impossible to get i payed in advance (dinning pass) i couldn't even get a drink and it was 97 degrease > i purchased the diamond elite pass , the perks you get were very inticeing but not one was available! they must have sold more than they can accommodate. You think they would limit the amount of passes to abide by the distance and safety regulations. i hope they get investigated because there is no way they made any adjustments to there ticket sales to allow for safety of all and absolutely ignored the laws for the disability act. I purchased the elite because of problems with disabilities, there was nothing no effort to help. and the food and drink offer was unacceptable with the amount of money i put out for 4 passes. I got nothing!!! they can't deliver what I payed for. I'm looking into BBB, fraud.and would love to see them get investigated. I feel i was lied to and taken advantage of!!! totally fraud... no way out! so now i fight to get what i payed for... Why How can they get away with this???

This is our weekend home! My husband surprised us with season passes and we definitely get our money’s worth! Every Saturday we take the almost 2 hour drive with our 3 kids ( 3,6, and 11 years old). Every time we pull in it’s like the first time. We have so much fun. My 11 year old is now tall enough for the big coasters and she’s ridden every single one. My six year old can get on a few of the bigger ones but there’s so many rides for kids so it’s fun for even our little one. The staff is amazing and the Fright Fest is a must see. We saw the fireworks last night and it’s one of the best displays I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend getting season passes. They pay for themselves in 2 visits maybe 1 if you do the Safari and Hurricane Harbor (closed for the season). Kingda Ka is incredible and if you’re a thrill seeker try the 1st row. Jersey Devil is amazing and the ride operators do an incredible job keeping the line down. I could go on all day. Food is pricey but it’s a theme park so that’s what they do. I highly recommend this for a family day out, date night, or just a fun trip with friends. Stay safe y’all!

I was at this park on May 3rd 2024 with my son. Our holiday on the US East Coast. We are from the Netherlands and our highlight, as rollercoaster fanatics, should have been Six Flags Great Adventure.

Fitst of all i want to compliment the enthousiastic employees and ride operators. All very friendly and enjoying their work! Big thumbs up. That fact made our day acceptable.

Our plan was to enjoy the rides as muchbas possible by putchasing a Flash Pass, but unfortunately, the Flash Pass sales desk was closed due to staff shortage. ( that was the explaination of the Resort Sevice employee) So no Flash Pass. And what we feared happened. Massive queues, due to schoolbusses full of teenagers. There was a special day about Physics. More than an hour waiting for the best rollercoasters was the result.

A lot of other rides were closed because of an unknown reason. Probably also staff respons. And the whole Medusa area was closed.

We bought a meal deal online, but when we were hungry, there were massive queues at the available restaurants. Probably caused because the half of food points were closed as well. Waste of time.

And for some rides you are obliged to put your bag and phone in a locker which cost 2 dollar for each time. That locker was available for 2 hours for that price. With the waiting times you was forced to take another locker after 1 ride. Cost me an additional 16 dollar.

In the end not the experience we expected. But again, the employees must be complimenten big time. The negative things are 100 procent caused by poor management desicions.

had a fun time with fright fest. love going for this event. also great coasters. park needs a lil attention to detail. always fun

By JTZ04 |

I have been to Six Flags in other locations but I have to say, this was the worst experience at a theme park for me ever. We went for a Saturday during Fright Fest and we did pay for the extra Fright Fest activities. Reservations had to be made for both entering the park and the Fright Fest activities which I thought was how they were going to control capacity. The Fright Fest activities did not open until evening. It was a normal park experience until about 5:00 and it seemed like the park went from a manageable amount of people to a park that was completely overloaded. Lines were hours to get any type of food, you couldn't find a bathroom without a line 10-15 or more people deep outside and forget about getting on a ride without standing for hours. We paid extra for the Fright Fest activities and my husband and I did not get in to any of them and our daughter and granddaughter stood for 1.5 hrs and went through one. When we left at 8:00pm, people were still trying to get into the park and the line at the main gate was worse than the line when we initially entered during which we waited 45 minutes just to get into the gate with a ticket ready. When we got to our car, there were no park employees managing the parking situation and literally, there were no cars moving to get out of the park. We finally moved enough to go the wrong way down the next aisle and get out at the other end. Had we stayed in the main line out, we would probably be still in the parking lot. In my opinion, the $$ was more important than the comfort and security of the customers trying to enjoy the park. I will never go back.

By Eliz M |

NOPE, not worthy! beside, food price go through over the top, rides keep shut down .......
Six flag is violated personal rights of their Loose Article policy, and some staffs abused the power because the company have created crap policy to rob money. Staffs became more rude and ridiculous toward customers. I am not paying money for giving out my rights for strangers to touch and search me (specially any female should not give away your consent and rights of your bodies). The company didn't put the policy in full form for public because they know once they display it that will be NO one choose to pay that over price to get violated. After all, they are not the only theme park !

I was rode rides all day without problem, only have wallet in my zipped pocket. I went back to the same ride at around 5pm and the new shift staff using flash light flash me and imply to search my zipped pocket, didn't even asked my permition, I said "its ridiculous " then I walked away but a higher rank yellow uniform staff said "don't F'ling ride". My another family member have the same happened When i was not with him.

seriously , this is way more than just an empty pocket policy!! If you wanted your kids and yourself get assault or violated , then go for it !

Went with wife and four 13 yo boys on May4. Bought tix online, they bump the rate for the weekend but half the price than paying at the gate. Staff was good and friendly. TSA-like metal detectors at entrance -glad for the safety precautions esp nowadays. Fair amount of coasters and a couple other thrill rides. Park was generally clean, not crowded at all. Boys were able to get on all the rides they wanted a few times. Glad we opted not to get screwed for any fast pass add-ons. Other large theme parks and other GA sites have a mega food plan where you pay one price and eat all day, granted with some intervals. No, not NJ. Here you pay $24 online (alleged savings than paying in the park - we never found out the delta cost) for one "meal", some chick fingers, fries and a drink. I asked my wife to get us a coffee, there was a starbucks-looking place that charged $9...$9 !! Seemed like plenty of closed shops & stores. Few rides were closed, Ferris wheel and cable cars closed. Last time I was at Six Flags was 2009. Can't believe they still have a Batman Returns movie (1992) themed area since they opened that in 1993! I mean, yes it was a great movie in that era but c'mon... over 30 years now!? Six Flags - it's time to move on past that movie and construct some contemporary themed rides. If you take the time to read some of the posted Penguin and Catwoman signs by the beer & pretzel store out of boredom like we did, you can challenge yourself to pick out the grammar and spelling errors. And you can see the tired looking, faded and worn-out sceneries and building facades like everywhere. Came across some truly deserted areas here and there. Still don't know why they screw you for $45 to park. $10 would be more humane, but why not make it free?? Like, where else can you park anyway?? Or you can pay $60 for speedy parking - OMG - what a rip. If you want to spend a boatload of money here for a mid level experience be my guest. Nothing was worth the money it costs for that day.

By Sahil S |

Six Flags is currently taking online reservations only due to COVID, and you choose a specific time slot to enter the park. Because of this, I thought they would limit the number of people inside the park. Turns out that was just a false pretense to appear they were taking safety seriously. Reality is that no one cared what time the ticket said, and once we got in, we saw the place was packed with people, most NOT wearing masks.

With all those people, there were lines everywhere. Lines for food, lines for lockers, and worst of all, lines for rides. We started at a basic ride, Harley Quinn. I timed it from when we entered the line - we got about halfway through the line in 25 minutes until I saw they were doing runs of the coaster with no passengers and I got fed up waiting. I figured if I'm going to wait, might as well do it at Kingda Ka, the one I came for.

First off, they don't allow cell phones in line. That means you're going to be stuck for an hour plus without any communication, feels like a punishment. Then we see that a long stretch of the line is exposed to the sun. It's 90 degrees and cloudless outside so at this point we're basically being tortured. The least they can do is shade the entire line. I have very little patience for stuff like this so after about 20 minutes and little progress we took our losses and abandoned the trip. We all left without riding a single coaster and spent the rest of the day at the beach. Complete let down.

It's basic math - they are running these rides at 50% capacity and didn't limit customers at all, so you get horrendous wait times. Please stop being greedy trying to pack as many customers in your massive estate and then nickle and diming them as much as you can. People come from far away to have a fun day, not to be ripped off left and right.

My children were so excited to spend the day at Six Flags and we had a horrible experience from the very beginning. We got there when it opened and took us almost an hour to get it. No idea why it was taking so long. Once we finally got in, just got worse from there. We waited over an hour to go on the Nitro and then the line just wasn’t moving. Having some issues with ride, so we left. Even the smaller, less popular rides were such a long wait. We stood in line for 90 minutes for the Jersey Devil and still didn’t get on. They started letting people with flash passes get on and taking only few people from our lines. It was ridiculous. My children were thirsty and had to use the restroom, so after waiting that long, we had to get out of line. We probably had another 30 minutes to go.
As far as the food, I bought a 4 person dining package. After ordering food and telling me my daughter can’t hold cheese on her $17 burger, they told me I couldn’t use my dining pass because it was already used. I just purchased it and it definitely wasn’t used. They were arguing with me telling me I used it. Wanted me to go to customer relations and wait there for an hour.
My kids were starving, so spent $60 on barely edible pizza. There are no words for how aggravated I was. My kids were highly disappointed and I am upset with myself for spending money on season passes when I don’t foresee my family returning anytime soon.

I went for the first time with friends that have already been to this park. It’s very large and there is no way you can get bored here! I will say I was very afraid of tall and fast coasters but after trying Batman: The Ride, i was much more comfortable riding the other rollercoasters! It is clean and family friendly. There’s almost a ride for everyone of all ages, fast and thrilled or slow and enjoyable. 10/10!
