Fun for the family

By bsarah923 |

Carousel was fun, nice views of downtown and the river. My son always loves the splash pad. Also very unique playground.

Outstanding area

By VirginiaLove2Travel |

Spent a beautiful Saturday walking this entire area. You walk right along the Ohio River. Stop along the way and swing. We spent quite a bit of time swinging and watching the boats. I wished I lived here because I would use this area for exercise each day. There is a great area for kids to play. If I come back, I would definitely visit that area again.

Amazing that this was under 5 feet of mud & water weeks ago

By WillTravel4Goetta |

The park is back! Hard to believe that just a few weeks ago the entire park was flooded and under feet of mud & water! They really have designed it to withstand the flooding of the Ohio River and bounce back quickly. The flying pig statue was completely underwater but the tip of his head and wings... Now he is flying proud again and ready to oversee the Flying Pig Marathon! Just amazing engineering here. And such a fun park. Well designed so they could take away art work and playground equipment, build the bathrooms and some statues on mobile platforms that could be driven off to higher ground before the floods. Bravo.

Great spot

By ExpatAgainandAgain |

We stopped for a picnic but discovered a neat spot on the waterfront. I wish we had more time to explore since we only got to see a small part of it. Staff were cutting the grass and inspecting table and other facilities.

nice park but no parking

By Aniela B |

i wanted to get to the Carousel again and walk around in that area. Unfortunately with a baseball game in town , parking was not easy to find. i did not want to pay $15 to park to go to a riverfront park.

Nice urban park

By Annie H |

Really neat and fun for the kids. Love the contemporary/urban look. Great with river in the backdrop.

I live near here but I recommend this HIGHLY!!!

By debbiethacker |

Take an hour bike ride with an 8.00 bike rental! You can rent the bikes on the sidewalk for 8 bucks. The ride is smooth and fun. You will love this and it's worth every penny!

Another terrific riverfront park

By Stephanie R |

Cincinnati has put a lot of work into turning their Ohio river bank into a world class greenspace, and Smale is part of that effort. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all of the statues, landscaping, play areas, and resting spots with great views up and down the river.

What a great place!

By Hlp |

This place was amazing for families.. especially those with young kids. The grounds were immaculate! There are so many water features and cool things to do like the flying pig and huge chess and checker boards. We especially liked the swings that overlooked the river! Cincinnati's parks do not disappoint!

Great Place

By Carolyn M |

Nice place to take families....something for everyone. Lovely flowers. Walk around, swing, run through the water and be sure to look uptown.

Beautiful

By HDS1 |

My wife and I stopped at the park on a sunny summer afternoon. What a beautiful place. We strolled through the gardens and saw the place features for children. We also spent some time peaceably swinging on one of the bench swings.

Niceplace to walk around

By David K |

Take a break and walk around this lovely park downtown. There are a few benches to sit on and just people watch.

Wonderful views along the Ohio River!

By ARodriguezP |

This wonderful riverside park has wonderful landscaping and amazing views of the Ohio River, the bridges and northern Kentucky's shoreline across the Ohio.
Walkways and garden areas seemed to be carefully maintained and quite clean. Probably the best place for walkers and joggers to do their excersize routines.

A Delightful Place to Spend Time

By CinciFamily96 |

I live in Cincinnati, but only get down to Smale Park a couple of times a year and I always enjoy my time there. The water features are interspersed and there is quite a variety - fountains that run down next to the stairs, a spray park for kids, a water experience with interactive troughs and pumps, a quiet stream that runs over rocks, ... The playground area for the kids is just as much fun for the adults chasing them. The giant chess sets or the keyboard that plays the chimes also bring smiles to young and old. There are big metal swings to rest on or some exercise stations to workout on. There are picnic tables on tracks to seat as many people as you can bring with you for lunch. There is plenty of space to ride bikes or stroll and share the paths with joggers. The labyrinth can be silly or introspective. The variety of trees and flowers AND the history! The river is rich in history and there are different stories told as you walk through sections of the park. It is connected to a much longer path to the east side of downtown and the Serpentine Wall and the bike/ jogging path keeps going beyond that. Some great restaurants are close by as are the Stadiums and the Underground Railroad Museum. Spend an hour or the day - there is plenty to see and do.

Relaxing

By Stephane M |

We both loved that park. Take a walk along the river before going to a ball game. My preferred spot in my single day in Cincy. Many things for kids to do.

Great for a stroll, or a beer fest.

By Jessica SpeLangm |

I'm slowly getting back into being active. My chosen method is walking. This is the FLATEST part of Cincinnati, which I just LOVE. There are LOTS of trees and grassy areas. This also works for small beerfests. LOL

Nice Environment!

By 13princessc |

I come here often with my family! It is a wonderful scenery with several things to entertain the kids! I have also been down here on a girls night out, as well as date night! Just a beautiful scenery for any crowd. I've even seen wedding pictures being taken here as well as an actual wedding!

The Visit is Worth it

By potatochip1 |

We went to visit Smale Park because people have been saying great things about it. Definitely worth the visit. We went during July 4th weekend so there were not a lot of people. Parking was free as well that day. The park has a labyrinth which our kids found interesting. There are a number of things to do there as well including a giant keyboard where you step on the note and it makes sound. There are also activities that are educational as well as fun such as a rope walk, slides, and activities where water is involved. A recommendation is to bring a towel when visiting.

The flowers were nice, but it would be even more beautiful when visiting during the spring. We also like the swings which you can sit on while overlooking the Ohio River. Definitely plan on coming back.

Even better than any of the reviews!

By klutzWestBend |

We just spent time there with our 7-year old grandson and 1-year old granddaughter. It was wonderful. So spread out--fascinating, engaging things for the children to do; spectacular views; and so clean. It is on different levels--easy to walk to from the downtown area. The rose garden was so pretty. The playground, "play piano", water works, swings, labyrinth, etc. are "can't misses." All free. 'felt very safe there. Fun to see all the wedding parties walking around. Don't miss it!

Gorgeous Park

By BDV |

We stopped at this park on our first day of vacation and it is absolutely beautiful. The flowers are gorgeous, the scenery is spectacular. There are walking paths, bike rentals, scooter rentals, spray areas for the kids to cool off. It is a very beautiful park. There is a Ferris wheel and carousel that are available as well. This is a great activity to just relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty.

Lovely area to relax

By TNtraveler070567 |

The Riverfront Park is a super nice area and Cincinnati is lucky to have such a gem. It has water features to play in on a hot day, swings with a view of the river, playground and fitness equipment, a carousel, flower gardens, walking paths - too much to list! The most interesting thing I found was a step piano. At first I saw the pipes and thought it was a huge wind chime but then I realized someone was hopping from key to key underneath it and playing a tune. Super cool! This is a great place to hang out for any age group. People were picnicking, working out, playing in the water, sunbathing. I even saw a wedding party being photographed near one of the cascading water features. It truly has something for everyone.

Beautiful park that was fun to explore

By James K |

Took the streetcar from OTR to the banks and enjoyed this park emmensely. It's fun to see so many people using the space and I loved the bike share.

no free parking nearby

By ELKW |

there is splash pool (may be only in summer time), you can also see the view of the bridges across the river. but there is no free parking, you need to pay for the garage parking.

Fantastic!

By Gini C |

Absolutely gorgeous with walking paths, splash pads, swings, beautiful views of the river and right by the sports stadiums. Perfect area for joggers. The park is so tastefully done and adds to a super visit to Cincinnati. Good places to eat nearby.

Quick visit

By robyn m |

Out of towner looking for time to kill before pm flight home. Found smale park, and parked in lot- was only $5.00. Both Cincinatti ballparks are right there downtown on waterfront. There appeared to be many water activities for the kids who seemed to be there for day camp. There were play areas as well, many outdoor activities. Nice walking path along Ohio River. There is a ferris wheel downtown as well.

Great place to relax and unwind

By Dyane K |

Love the rainbow fountains when they're running. Overall a great place to walk, swing or relax. Parking can be difficult, but there are lots of good things about the park to make up for it.

So close and it takes you far away

By XSharp |

Just a few steps away from downtown this park offers lovely river views, excellent playgrounds (including a sprinkle water park in the summer) and a walk that connects the sports venues back to the city and to all the parks on the river all the way to Friendly park. We like parking out there and biking all the way down to the Roebling bridge for lunch at one of the many restaurants at the Banks or for a picnic on the nicely kept lawn of Smale park.

Great place for the kids to blow off some steam

By Trip597356 |

We always stop here if we are downtown with the kids (4 and 8). There is plenty for them to run and jump on, from the jungle jims to the flying pig to the water play areas, and of course the carosel down the street. So glad that Cincinnati invested some money and set aside land for some family-friendly areas!

Quaint but Superb

By bsmillerrn |

Beautiful, relaxing walk along the scenic Ohio River. Many swings to rest and enjoy the sunset. Interesting playground for the kids to explore. Safe and comfortable atmosphere.

Super nice park

By keechMartinsburgWv |

Visited Cincinnati and walked along the river front. Great views of the bridge and many water features for kids and (adults) to enjoy. It was very hot the day we visited.

American Queen Paddle Wheel, Reds Stadium and the Roebling Bridge

By Lee A |

It was a glorious cold, snowy and windy day along the Ohio River. We started at the American Queen Paddle Wheel and continued down to the Roebling Bridge.

Nice family area

By lorih674 |

Very nice area in the city. This is an active area, couples and families walking the river walk, swinging on the swings, laying in the grass, riding bikes, exercising, kids playing in the splash area. It was clean and a well maintained area with nice gardens too.

WEBN Fireworks From Smale Park

By Bob S |

This is a nice urban park with a view of the river. We went here for the annual Labor Day fireworks and had a pretty good view. Not as close as I would have liked but less crowded. A nice place to stop and stroll if you are downtown.

Wonderful Riverfront Park Offering a Variety of Activities for Chidren and Adults

By James G |

I enjoyed a marvelous walk through this park on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. I loved using my foot to make music on what a plaque in the park says is the world's largest foot piano.

It was nice to sit on one of the swings that look out on the Ohio River. The park also has some exercise equipment that I enjoyed seeing, though I got my exercise via walking.

The park includes a nice flower garden, a labyrinth you can walk through, and a section that serves as a tribute to many African-Americans who fought in the Civil War.

Steps lead up from the park to the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge which I took time to walk across and enjoy the view from. A riverside trail that passes through Smale Park goes on east from Smale park to the Purple People pedestrian bridge and to other parks beyond it along the Ohio River.

Though I devoted most of my time to the lower level of the park, steps lead to an upper level which contains a pavilion and an indoor carousel.

The park contains restrooms. And there are water features during warmer weather. These were apparently already turned off for the season during my visit. But the park offers much to see and do year round, with even more available in other nearby parks.

I urge persons in the Cincinnati area to seek to take time to explore this park

Cute city park to take visotrs.

By SLRNPDG |

This a wonderful city park with things for youngerster and young at heart to do on the Cincinnati River front. Can spend a couple of hours here. Took my international guests here for the afternoo, they loved it. Unique.

Gorgeous park with so much to offer!

By Amy M |

Smale Riverfront Park is a true gem. It offers plenty of fun for families. The gardens are so well-kept and absolutely gorgeous. We spent a few hours here recently on a trip to Cincinnati and we were so impressed with the beauty of it. A must-see!

You Can See All The Way To Kentucky!

By LC95 |

This is a beautiful spot right on the Ohio River! Lovely tulip gardens and well kept walkways, nice park like green spaces. They even have a carousel for the kids! Wonderful outing for the whole family! Great spot for taking pictures!

It is right in the middle of everything downtown. Baseball, football, nightlife, tourist spots, etc. There are plenty of parking spaces and/or garages available within walking distance.

Great way to burn off some energy with teens

By Heather M |

We recently visited Cincinnati for a soccer tournament and had car-fulls of teenage boys looking to burn off some energy after a very long car ride. A group of us parents met near the Smale Riverfront Park and thoroughly enjoyed walking through this beautiful park, and over the suspicion bridge while the boys rented “Bird” scooters (They’re everywhere, just download the Bird app). I wish we would have had more time to stay for lunch & drinks near by. A safe, clean and very well done riverfront park.

Lovely Stroll along the Riverfront

By Carol L |

What a wonderful job the city has done with this area along the river. POlay areas for Kids and swings for Agults as well. Free!

Great Addition to the Riverfront

By Bill G |

An excellent addition to enjoy before or after a Reds or Bengals game . Great place to take kids for a stroll or enjoy one of the swings . Convenient to the restaurants at the banks .

Weekend in Cincinnati

By MMCHIN |

Nice and clean riverfront, next to downtown Cincinnati. Plenty to do, you can walk with your dog. View the otherside of Kentucky, walk across the bridge to Newport Kentucky. There are giant swings, an area for children to play, a beautiful garden of flowers and a great view of downtown Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds stadiums are located on the riverfront also.

Nice Place to Walk, Run or Let Kids Romp

By Donna P |

I really cannot understand the five-star review given by some. If you just want to walk the riverfront, it’s a nice place. Everything you see in the pictures is all there is. This is probably more fun for kids, but keep them well-attended. We saw several vagrants there, one we tried to help to no avail, and one who acted suspiciously. If there is the need to park a vehicle, you’ll have to pay about $5.00. There’s no admission fee, otherwise. Just cross the street and you’re there. Just not that impressed, but it did give us a place to stretch our legs for awhile.

Very nice park with great views and great people watching

By Traveler00101 |

Loved walking along the riverfront watching the boats and the people. Very clean, neat and organized. Very family friendly. Worth the visit

Fun and creative park in a beautiful setting

By sharonwag |

On the Ohio River in Cincinnati between two major sports stadiums and near the National Underground Railroad Museum. Great place to visit. Wish we had had more time there and that it wasn't windy and cold when we were there. Great spot to return to.

Beautiful Riverside Park....

By YuontoGo |

We spent hours walking around the river park. The Roebling Bridge is magnificant and a civil engineering national landmark. Very impressive.

So relaxing and enjoyable.

Beautiful Riverfront Park

By MarkVegas65 |

Small Riverfront Park is the crowning jewel in Cincinnati's already spectacular park system. Great place to bring your children. Plenty of activity on either side of the Roebling Suspension Bridge to keep them occupied for hours. The best part.... there is no cost to enjoy it.

Stunning After Dark!

By Corinne Douglas |

I was told not to miss this park and I am so glad I didn’t.

The lights and water shows were stunning. My pictures don’t do them justice.

You have to get pictures of the Ferris wheel, or the bridge or sit on the adult couple swings. I got there at 9:00 PM and the park closed at midnight.

A must see at night and during the day!

Recreation Space

By Atiya Thomas |

Smale Riverfront Park is a recreation space located in the most southern part of Cincinnati on the Ohio River. Smale Park is perfect for families or individuals. Parking close could be a problem. However, there is a parking garage (minimum $5) or the streetcar can get you close and you would have to walk a few minutes to the park.

A beauty on the river

By Amanda K |

Close to the banks and great American ballpark! Beautiful and easy walk... tons to check out, take pics of... my pups love it

Something for everyone

By Claudette C |

A great park at the river- something for everyone. Swings by the driver, water fountain to play in, benches throughout the park, beautiful flowers and garden area and some unique structures for kids to play (flying pig)

Amazing Waterfront Park

By Caroyn O |

We ended up spending two evenings here with our two kids, ages 8 and 11. There were so many things to do, they requested to come back a second night, even though it was a good 20 minute drive from our hotel. They loved the water features, the flying pig, the maze, the walk across the bridge, and the swings. I appreciated the flowers and landscaping, the endless paved walkway, and the view from the bridge. The millions of dollars Cinncinati invested in this park was money well spent. If only you could keep people from littering! We parked in the garage across the street from the park for $6 each night for 2 hours. Try to go on a night when there's not a ball game!

Terrific urban feature

By Michael R |

Smale Riverfront Park, along with the Yeatman's Cove and International Friendship Park just upriver provides an extensive and attractive view of the river, the many bridges crossing the river, and interesting sights on the other side. There is a botanical garden, sculptures, a Ferris wheel, and other features. The Bengals and Reds stadiums, and the National Underground Railroad Museum are nearby. There are probably 4 miles or so of wide pathways. Very relaxing for walking, or a good spot for a jog.

delightful day at the peaceful park

By MelissaWP |

What a nice surprise, this awesome park on the riverfront we got to spend some time in right before the Cincinnati Reds game right next door. We walked around, admired the landscape, and sat in the giant swings overlooking the river for a while. This is definitely worth an hour or two or more of your time, especially for families they have lots of fun activities here.

Very nice

By encore192 |

Very nice addition to the Banks. We walk down during our lunch hour, enjoy the swings and the view. Interactive area for kids also

Love our Parks

By teresacU75GI |

This riverfront park is beautiful. Wonderful way to represent our City. So much to do and see here. Nice way to spend the day.

Something for everyone

By joe-chicago-23 |

This works for families, dogs, cyclists, walkers, baseball and football fans. Water areas, flowers and plenty of landscaping abound. Great views of the river and bridges.
Many cities with riverfront and lakefront areas should copy this. It's elevated to minimize flooding problems.

Nice riverfront setting

By Berkleyshields S |

This is a nice park, fairly new in appearance. Lush trees and flowers. Very nice place to run, ride bike, sit and look at the river. We felt safe, although it was early Saturday
morning. Very very nice!

BEST RIVERFRONT!!!

By Joan S |

The city of Cincinnatit did a FABULOUS job of creating a riverfront area that all ages can enjoy. Worth taking a walk through. The flowers are absolutely beautiful!

Wow worth a stroll

By Grussingtravels |

We had no idea how wonderful the parks would be in Cincinnati. This one had fountains for playing and gazing. Swings for adults and children. Play ground equipment and exercise equipment. They had over sized chess and checkers sets. Beautiful views of the river and suspension bridge. It was a great morning stroll check it out. If you have walking aged kids it's perfect to plan a stop to play.

Cool off the kids at a cool park!

By AuntNeeners |

This park meanders along the Ohio river with bike rentals, large swings that'll fit a family, wonderful gardens and SEVERAL interactive water features for a young kiddos. I had a hard time finding the potties but once I did I found them to more than adequate. There are also other unique playground items including a piano that you play by jumping on the Keys. Pack a lunch and your own drinks, tote the kids in a stroller or a wagon, bring bathing suits, towels and lots of sunscreen and you will have some great memories. I had a blast with my great niece! I don't want to tell you about all the features as your discovery is part of the joy! Oh- its all FREE!

Great Design

By Terri D |

We initially went to check out the bridge for an evening stroll. We discovered the park and neighborhood. We spent as much time in the park as we did walking the bridge. The playground equipment was great fun and unique. There was even exercise equipment as a permanent feature of the park. Wow - very well done! We parked in the Riverfront parking garage, and it provided ideal access to the park.

Flying pig!

By Christina F |

This riverfront park is visually appealing and great fun. There are multiple water features for young and old to appreciate. My grandsons thoroughly enjoy the playground and the splash areas. One of the highlights of the park is the unique carousel.

This whole park!

By Jacob W |

The whole park was great! So many things to do. Downtown Cincinnati was a great area. We went to the park before the Reds' game and then again after.

Amazing

By jaidenterrell13 |

This place is beautiful. Clean & quite, watched the Eclipse today there. This was on my list of places to visit while being in Cincinnati and I don't regret it at all. Will be back

Always a good time.

By Sandra |

This is a wonderful place to visit for everyone. Young or old. Families with small children or families with teenagers. There is a playground for young children, but there’s plenty to do for older kids as well. We came with our teenagers and they love it here. You have to Cincinnati skyline on one side and the river on the other side of the park. The swings overlooking the river are probably our favorite part. Come to play, come to relax or come to people watch!

Nice relaxing park

By Kyle W |

This is a nice relaxing park, I think you could get a lot of great photographs here. A great view of a nice bridge, some nice flowers, some porch swing style swings, nice flowers, some water features, ext... If you want a nice place to take pictures or just a relaxing place to chill for a while this is a great place to go.

Nice spot to relax along the river

By tmazionsmith |

This part was much bigger than I expected. There is a path that goes along the edge of the river, there is a small rose garden area, a large playground, and even some large adult-sized swings that overlook the river. I was there on a Thursday afternoon; it was quite and very peaceful.

Great outing for the little ones

By Dona B |

A nice park and great for all ages! A nice place for a picnic for all ages and the little enjoy the water spouts.

Very Nice Riverfront Park

By Vacationer9898 |

Great place to spend a day enjoying the outdoors. There was a lot of planning and effort that went into the building of this park from the great concrete trails to the water pads. There is something for everyone. Two things they forgot to add were convenient restrooms as well as drinking fountains.

Cincinnati Riverfront Park

By Qedavis |

Smale Riverfront Park is part of the ongoing redevelopment of Cincinnati's waterfront on the Ohio River. Nestled between Great American Ballpark (home of the Reds) and Paul brown Stadium (home of the Bengals), Smale Park has activities for the entire family. There are interactive play areas, swings, fountains and great views of the Ohio River.

Family fun abounds

By Robert N |

A park that is very neat, clean and filled with fun thinks to do for all ages! It was hot today but still very pleasant for us and our family. If you have small children take some wax paper or cardboard with you to make the various slides go faster!!

Will return

By sue |

Lovely place to get excercise along the river.

Views I Great American Ballpark home to Cincinnat Reds and Bengals football stadium.

Nice swings..very clean.

Drawback...I was alone and their are many druggie homeless which is a shame. Just don't want people approaching me that I don't know. Kinda made me rush thru instead of relax.

Afternoon with my little Cousin

By Michael T |

Spent a sunny afternoon wandering around Smale Park. My cousin enjoyed the slide and swinging chairs. He was fascinated by the maze. The park was clean, felt safe, and had a nice view of the river.

Fun for the whole family

By Sandra |

This is great park with something to do for everyone. There is waterplay for the kids, climbing structures, a large checkers board.....
My favorite part are the swings overlooking the river. There truly is something for everyone and you can easily spent several hours here. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance.

I walk down from work on occasion and always enjoy the scenery. Great River view, seems like all the kids there have a fantastic time. Lots of places nearby to eat. Very new, clean and updated with stellar landscaping.

A True Riverfront Gem

By Clara and Jim |

Thank you very much to Mr. and Mrs. Smale for their generous gift to the city of Cincinnati. The park is beautiful and offers so much to everyone, young and old. It has completely transformed the riverfront and made it a true oasis.

Fun Summer Days

By akaomi |

We enjoy taking our grandchildren to Smale Park on a warm summer day - letting them run through the fountains - this park is well maintained and a family friendly place.

Great Little Oasis

By BeachFan |

This was a short walk from our hotel on 5th street. Interesting water features, exercise stations, oversized foot-operated “piano”, oversized checker and chess boards, walking paths, and slides for the kids. Great view of the Ohio river and the river boats. Excellent place to kill some time between events.

Beautiful

Right on the river, great view. Lots to do for everyone and free. Great summer activity. Easy access withi the city.

Fun Family Afternoon

By Karen |

We spent a fun family afternoon at Smale Riverfront park. Three generations, including multiple high school students and one college-aged student, enjoyed our time exploring the park. Someone really knows how to garden. The plantings are beautiful and well maintained. I picked up ideas for my garden. There is a classic maze and plenty of things for kids to do.

Wide range of activities

By Paul W. |

My family visited this park. It's near the Great American ballpark. They have giant size chess and checker games under the bridge. A floor piano like in the movie Big with Tom Hanks. There's so much to do as a family, couple or a single that you could spend hours there. This is one of the nicest ,cleanest parks I've been to that I enjoyed even as a adult.

The park allows a peaceful respite whether you are alone, with a friend or with the family. There are views for the camera bug among you and places for the kids to play. There is something for everybody at the Park.

Wonderful park right on the river

By ilovebirdsky |

We love Smale Park and go often. The gardens and landscaping are extensive and gorgeous. The extended walk along the Ohio River ties in with about 2 miles of paved walkways. Love the views of Kentucky, the Roebling Bridge, the Cincinnati Skyline. There is a terrific play area which our grandkids love. The Black Brigade Monument is fascinating.... The park is a Cincinnati gem.

Really well done!

By CruisenFamily |

What a great waterfront park! It's huge! Lots of interactive things to do/see. Lovely water features. Nice walking paths. You are very lucky Cincinnati to have such a nice place to gather!

Also great for older kids (tweens)!

By Cheryl J |

We planned to spend a half day here, eat a picnic lunch and head to another attraction. However, my children (middle school age) spent all day here. We played chess, play in the water features, walked several miles along the river front, crossed 3 bridges. It is not just for little kids, my older children also had a great time.

LOVELY PARK

By kathryn0926 |

NICE RIVERWALK WITH GREAT VIEWS OF river and city. SEVERAL PLAY AREAS FOR CHILDREN. Near stadiums and restaurants. Nice for afternoon walk or picnic

Nice place

By Jenee O |

Enjoyed walking around and taking some nice pictures. Wish the carousel was open, sign said closed for private event but nobody was there... bummed

Just plain fun

By Tom W |

The park is just perfect to walk around on a summer evening. Well kept and so clean, it is a jewel for the city of Cincinnati.

Stunning and Lots of Fun

By Charley G |

After the public taxed themselves billions for new football and baseball stadiums, Cincy's well healed private sector invested millions to create a magnificent miles long public park between and beyond the stadiums. Walkers, bikers, families, and couples find so much to do and to just take in all the incredible planning and attention to detail. Truly one of America's great new parks.

Great Park

By Dan |

Perfect location to have your kids run around and play. They have slides, swings and a large green way to throw a ball and run around.

Cool and Refreshing

By CCkmum |

Whe. We visited Cincinnatti it was 98*. Going to Smale riverfront was a very wise choice. Our grandkids, ages 12 and 14, took advantage of every water fountain in the park. We had a ball!

A park with a view

By Barbara K |

We loved how close this park was to the waterfront, really takes advantage of it. The Ferris wheel is up, and looks awesome. There is a cute (shaded) slide for the kids.

Great day in the park!

By Waukazoo3 |

I've spent many an hour at Smale Park. It is right next to the John Roebling bridge and it sports a great view of Kentucky. The carousel is reminiscent of days gone by. Safe for families or single folk.

Great park

By James Z |

This park has a lot of family activites, a great view of the river and is close to the ballpark and many restruants. If you are in town to watch the Reds, I highly recommend checking out this park.

What a view. What a beautiful park.

By crapschick |

What a beautiful view. What a beautiful park - right in between two major ballparks. They have all these fun things to do along your walk - metal swings to swing on facing the river, exercise machines, outdoor pianos which control large wind chimes, and more.

It's a great walk with beautiful things to see. And it's not too crowded.

Beautiful

By Augustandwally |

Beautiful park downtown with a really nice walkway on the river. Nice water activities and play areas for children and adults alike.

Such an awesome addition for Cincinnati

I've been there, through all the phases and have had the blessing to watch it transform. From the swings, to the colored waterfalls to the water that comes out of the ground...i love it all. The play area for kids is amazing. The sliding picnic tables are such a great addition. The Carousel is so unique and specific to Cincinnati. The fact that it sits along the river is such a bonus.

Beautiful

It was a hot day so I didn't explore too much but it was a beautiful place. Fun activities for kids and wonderful flowers!

Enjoying the Afternoon at Smale Riverfront Park

By cenzt |

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 5:30 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the park. There was a large parking lot in front of the park but it was quite expensive, so we decided to park at a parking lot across the bridge in Kentucky. The park was quite big and contained a ton of green space to roam around on. On the day that we went, there were plenty of vendors out and about, selling items from food to clothing. The park was right next to the Riverwalk and the Roebling Suspension Bridge. We were able to see sweeping views of both Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky, along with the Ohio River.

Tip: I recommend spending 30 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

Nice riverfront park

By Gayle E |

Kids and adults alike will be happy here. Swings along the river, water features and beautiful paths and gardens. Lots of families out today and it is stroller friendly. Lots of restaurants in this area as well as restroom facilities.

Absolutely beautiful!

By gjslhs |

This place is a must see! The view is beautiful, the grounds are extremely well kept, with flowers everywhere.....swings for the adults, playground for the kids, water features that you can play in.....wonderful to walk or rent a bike. Parking is easy in the garage across the street. The Ohio River is pretty dirty, with tree branches and trash constantly floating by. But everything else is wonderful. Also, make to walk across the bridge into Kentucky. Great experience!

One of Cincinnati's best feautures

By Hannah M |

Anyone who has a negative view about Cincinnati has never been to Smale! This is a great park in Cincinnati and has something for literally everyone. It includes a unique workout spot, waterparks, games to keep your children busy for hours, a carrousel (check the hours), a beautiful bike/running/walking path, a gorgeous view of the city and Kentucky, swings, benches. This is a must! At night, grab a bite to eat or have a beer across the street while you watch the park light up in a beautiful array of colors. I'm telling you - this place ROCKS!

Beautiful riverfront park

By DarylN |

A few blocks away from family's loft is the developed waterfront park. The city of Cincinnati has done a completely amazing job of combining history, recreation and flower gardens in recent history. Children play areas dot the extensive sidewalks and grassy lawns in full view of the Ohio River, Newport KY, downtown Cinci and the two stadiums. Thank you Cincinnati!

Great use of space

By dlamb789 |

Smale Park is very nice. There are many options for families to enjoy with nice bike paths and interactive activities for children.
The view of the river is excellent and nice places to eat near by. My kids really like the Carousal and water spouts.

So much fun!

By Lee L |

Our kids are teens and they still enjoyed this park. We initially parked across the river, and it was so worth the walk across the Roebling bridge.

Quiet, fun, and beautiful

By Debbie H |

Cincinnati has outdone itself with this riverfront park. It has something for everyone--big swings (like porch swings) overlooking the river, several children's play areas including a giant piano keyboard (kind of like the one on the movie "Big"), an indoor carrousel, several fountains (some of which can be waded in), a labyrinth, picnic areas--it just goes on and on. The football stadium is on one end and the baseball stadium on the other. Great place!

visit this great place

By Edward D |

There are many good things to see you will also enjoy the River front its beautiful an there is always something to do an see a great place to also see with children

Cool city vibe

By jmlhfl |

Explored the park after walking across Roebling Bridge. So many fun activities to see and do! My teenage daughter and I enjoyed swinging on the swings and watching the river pass by. The foot piano chimes were really fun and the flying pig was cute. The colored lights at night make it a beautiful place to visit in the evening. Would like to go back again if we are in Cincinnati in the future.

Grew up in Cincy where was this when I was young

By Ihcthered |

The interactivity structures for kids and adults is great. Kids on all kinds of Climbing and play structures. Wife and I strolled it to waste a little time. I was dumbfounded to how nice an area it has become. Take the kids to play in the fountains

Great Park....Parking, not so much

By twdenman |

Smale Riverfront Park is a wonderful Cincinnati, OH, river park. Plenty of activities for children of all ages. There is a foot operated carillon, a merry go round, and water features. (Great for hot, Ohio Valley, summer days.) If you are able to hang around till dark, many of the water features light up with ever changing lighting. Beautiful!

The 4 star rating is only because car parking is pay only, in Cincinnati! Good luck! If the Bengals, or Reds, are playing, paring is impossible. I would park in Covington, KY, and walk the beautiful Roebling Suspension Bridge, to the park. The Freedom Center is close and many restaurants are nearby.

If you want a GOOD walk, head up river to Friendship Park. (It's beyond the Great American Ballpark.)

A Gem at the Riverfront

By Kathy T |

This park is absolutely beautiful. You could walk for hours just enjoying the views. The park is steps away from Bengals stadium, the carrousel, and runs down to the Reds stadium. You get a view of Covington across the river and the Roebling bridge and the Riverboats that go up and down the river. There are benches to sit as you soak in the view

Don't miss this expansive park on the Ohio River

By Mary T |

We spent all day mother's day wandering this park, even walked across the river to Newport for a meal. Was memorable and fun day.

Smale Riverfront Park

By bkande2 |

I visit this park at least 3 times per week to either relax or exercise in a safe and beautiful setting with views of the river and city. It’s also one of my favorite places to take out-of-town visitors. A few of my favorite things to do at Smale- walking path along the river, enjoying a take-out meal with a riverfront view at the picnic tables, literally spending hours on the adult swings with views of the river. Also, there is a labyrinth garden for walking mediation/reflection, a beautiful rose garden, huge playgrounds for kids, interactive fountains, and a lawn for outdoor activities/games or just relaxing. Would definitely recommend visiting this park while in Cincinnati.

Summer fun

By ILovetoTravelX2 |

1st time visiting park, the carousel was closed, but there was plenty of other things to do. Nice waking path along the river, swings to sit & watch the river plus activates for kids to keep them occupied. There are at least 3 areas to get wet on a hot day, giant chess set & an open field for sports. The gardens are beautiful with all flowers & the entire park is very clean!!
Parking right across the street (reasonably priced) & a couple restaurants to get a bit to eat if you forgot to pack one.

Pleasant Place to Walk or Relax

By CharlieinTexas |

Ohio River views and nice walking area. Fun swings. Surrounding area has lots to see and do. We enjoyed a long walk to the Montgomery Inn.

Lazy and Relaxing Day

By jtackshack |

Stopped by here since arriving way too early for the Reds baseball game Friday night. We spent about 4 hours just sitting in various parts of the park and enjoyed the great weather and views of the river. There were tons on things to do for children - my favorite was the Giant foot step piano where my wife and played songs from our past. The landscape was beautiful. Great to see a city take so much pride in the park.

Lovely Park

By Lynn T |

I love this spot! I had a friend come in town and I took him there he absolutely loved it. There's a water park for the kids with swings for kids of all ages and young at heart people there's a bike trail. Lovely at night it's lit up with lights. I even go there just to relax and listen to the water and take in nature. The Ohio river is just a few feet away. You will see the ball park and if the Reds are playing and if there's a home run you will get to see the fireworks up close and personal if you love fireworks. A must visit if your the in Cincinnati area during the summer.

Riverfront casual @ it's finest

By Carrie O |

From the splash pads to the rolling River; exquisite Carousel for a few $; endless River paths (rent a bicycle); add a flying pig sculpture that kids can ride; a big chess set; climbing walls & bridge; exercise/par our; swings for resting or take a walk across 1 of the many bridges-convenient to the stadiums, museums, restaurants, entertainment, & more-clean, safe, family friendly... Cincinnati at its finest!

Activities at Smale Park

By ANA MARIA R |

If you are going to stay some days in Cincinnati, bring your sport tennis and clothes to run or have a yoga class in Smale Park. Even a nice walking, along the river side, will be a good option to enjoy this space of the city.

Highly recommend a visit

By GAAtltravel |

Perfect way to spend 1/2 day. This area is a testament to a very well executed riverfront development. Something for everyone in an interesting way. Multiple areas along the way had many different features. Rolling stream for kids to splash in, a water geysers area and a gentle misting area. All in different locations along the path, all had families enjoying a beautiful warm day playing outside. The gardens are very well done and beautiful to stroll through. Life size checkerboard and chess set were occupied or we would have loved a chance to play. Wish there were more then 1 each. Areas for young kids to climb on unusual contraptions as well as areas designated for older kids or adults. Try your music ability at the large hanging xylophone, stepping on the notes with your feet produces the chimes. We took the opportunity to sit and swing in the giant metal porch swings enjoying the barges on the river. Plenty of restaurants nearby, or plan ahead and bring a picnic lunch. There are picnic tables or plenty of other areas to sit and eat. Can't vouch for the restroom cleanliness, ( did not use) but did walk by at least 2 next to concession stands.

Wow what an addition to the Town

By rogersober |

You cannot believe what they have done with the waterfront. From glass floors to water features to carousel to musical sculpture.

Be a Kid Again

By crae_12 |

What a great place for a spring day excursion. Walk along the Ohio River and enjoy the sights, swing on giant swings - play in the water fountains and take in all the sights.

Beautiful Space to play

By franklincm |

Met a friend for a walk in this beautiful space. We stayed for 4 hours. The landscaping and area design are excellent. Places to hang out and watch the river. Big swings to watch people and the river. Green areas to roll around on and the FLOWERS! Water features for kids (of all ages😁). Bikes avail. Access to the people bridge if you're interested in walking over to Newport. Or a short walk to 'The Banks' for lunch, Ferris wheel. This park will require frequent visits!!

Great park, beautiful view

By BHPCincinnati |

The view of this park is breathtaking, it had lots of water feautures and it is really relaxing, the ohio river looks amazing from the park. There are many good restaurants around the park and easy parking.

Marvelous Whimsical Carousel

By Bertram S |

We came here to ride Carol Ann’s Carousel. This carousel was built in 2015 by Carousel Works. It’s in top shape. We really enjoyed the whimsical animals. Many are wearing hats. One animal was a pig with wings with its seat painted like the hole in a piggy bank with a dollar sticking out. The personnel here was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It wasn’t crowded today, but there was a steady stream of people coming to ride. There’s a ground level fountain kids can play in on a hot day, so it’s good to bring towels and swim suits for that. Tickets are $2 apiece or 6 for $10 or 13 for $20. They have a very nice extensive gift shop as well.

Beautiful park

By Piranha44 |

Expansive, beautiful park. Lots of walks, fountains and shady spots. Right down on the river in between the sports stadiums. We really enjoyed the walk. A must when in downtown Cincinnati.

A great place that brought to life a new part of the city!

By Rebecca C |

Smale Park is one of my top recommendations to anybody, local or tourist to do in Cincy! It has games, tons of great food, downright amazing views of the Roebling Bridge and surrounding architecture.

AMAZING park in the city

By merlinsurrietrekker |

We spent 2 afternoons taking in the walkways, river view, beautiful gardens and truly enjoyed the swings. Smale Park is a welcome respite for all ages. Dog walking, jogging, sitting, children playing in water, beautiful gardens with everything from roses to hostas. In addition to the gardens, swings, play areas and walkways, there is so much history to see and read about on the many panels and statues.
A definite must do!

Surpise

By Shanna L |

How wonderful! Such a surpise that we ran into this park. Our family loved it all! We will visit again when in the city!

Beautiful walk

By 5105RSmith |

Pristine walk. Beautiful scenery. Lots for children to do. It was too hot or we would of walked a lot further. Convenient parking for $3.00 an hour $6.00 for two to three.

Great Walking Area Along the Ohio River

By Millerdb |

I walked along this park on my first afternoon in Cincinnati. It was extremely well-maintained, with a paved walkway along the Ohio River and gardens on the other side of the walkway, including a large labyrinth. Very pleasant way to spend some time.

Amazing!

By Atraveler12@ |

Absolutely amazing! What a beautiful area! The river is right there, downtown right there, beautiful landscaping, plenty for the kids.

WALKABOUT

By Creighton W |

Great views of Cincinnati and Covington.
Nice clean park along the OHIO RIVER.
CAROUSEL/ FERRIS WHEEL (Will be back-Out now)

A little gem.

By ahaskell |

This area of the Cincinnati river front was a total mess before the city decided to completely rebuild this area into an attraction for everyone. There are 2 water attractions and a really neat carousel for kids. A Ferris wheel for everyone that is going to be rebuilt in a larger format. There is a foot operated chime device. There is a maze and many swings for all ages. It takes about two hours to check out everything, plus its all free!

Highly Recommend

By cccsc |

This park is fantastic. We went as a family with adults, teenagers, and a small child. There was something for everyone to enjoy. Play area for the kids. Swings and benches overlooking the Ohio River... beautiful view of the bridge. Also, mist/water stations, water fountains, and bathrooms. Easily accessible and parking directly across the street. Highly recommend

Beautiful place to stroll and take family

By RitaBlan |

There were lots of little kids and it looks to be popular with little kids and teenagers. Beautiful place to walk along the river and enjoy the views of the river and the stadiums. All cities should have a beautiful place like this. They have swings and a playground.

Got to the park a little late in the evening so we were not able to do all that the park offers. Its quite large and there is so much to see. Beautiful lights and views all around. Its definitely worth the stop but make sure to allow lots of time, there really is a lot to see that we missed. We will come back again.

Mother's day celebration

By Ajones2469 |

My family and I went to Smale park to celebrate Mother's day. It's one of our favorite parks. We love all the water features on a hot day! One of the water features was not operating, not sure why. We played in the man made "creek" until a child stepped on broken glass and there was blood every where. Took them too long to close it down in my opinion. We were still playing in it when another parent informed us what was going on. We tried to change clothes in the restroom and it was disgusting!! They need to have someone checking restrooms especially on busy weekends. We love the park and will be back my rating is low due to our experiences on Sunday. I would have given it 4 stars otherwise.

Beautiful

By pickvacations |

This is a beautiful place to walk along the riverfront. I was by myself and felt very safe. There were not a lot of people out. It was extremely cold.

Love this park! Amazing place to take the kids. They have lots of activities for the kids. From playground items and also tons of water features to cool off on a hot summer day. They have restrooms. Ample parking all around and lots of food and drink options near by.

Kids Paradise

Well done park that children love. Opens your eyes to being young and accepting the beauty of nature and new experiences. Walking between the Ohio river and the ballparks while enjoying the views finishes the deal.

You forget you’re in the city while in this park

By Gayle C |

We walked here from Paycor Stadium. They need better signs directing you to the park, but locals pointed us in the right direction. Beautiful park! Very clean. The bridge to KY was cool. Once you go under the bridge it’s a nice path. Beautiful flowers. Slides for kids. Swing benches that were very relaxing to chill on. Cool sculptures. Wish we had walked the whole park because we missed checking out other cool things. Very glad we checked it out.

Great place to hang out by the river

By Jen P |

Lots of things to see and do for all age groups. Took my nieces during the day. They loved the swings and playing on the road fort and giant flying pig. Beautifully cared for gardens all along the walk.

Great park

By Alan M |

This park runs along the river. There are sculptures, playgrounds and other interesting things to see along the river. Two years ago, when I rode the trail on my first visit to Cincinnati, there was a classic railroad train (with Pullman Coached) parked along the trail.

One of the best gems in the Queen City

By Jess K |

This is a gorgeous park along the river bank that has brand new features for kids of all ages. Always clean and safe, even being downtown. The flowers and landscape is stunning and a beautiful accent to the majestic Roebling Bridge. I loved taking my toddler boys there for a day of splashing in one of the many splash areas, and then playing on the playground.

An early-morning run crossing the bridge from Kentucky to Cincinnati led me into Smale Park. It's a beautiful place to sit and rest, and the flowers and beds are well taken care of. The backdrop of Cincinnati and its sports stadiums is great! All within a mile... amazing!

This place is amazing for the kids. You could spend minimum two hours here just playing around with the playground and stuff that can learn.

It's really a Good park that have people running also along the river. Water from the ground fountain is also good for the kids if they want to play.

It have a big swing to enjoy the swing too with the family. It also have the big set chess and checker for anyone to play with.

Love it! It's big too.

Wonderful way to spend a sunshiny day!

Don't miss this Cincinnati treat great for all ages. If you enjoy sitting on a swing along the river to see the magnificent view with tug boats and cruise ships float by, or taking a casual walk, renting a scooter (Bird) or a bike or if you have kids who enjoy exploring a delightful new kinds of playgrounds and riding an indoor carousel...this is a place for you! There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. This is a must see while visiting downtown Cincinnati, and there is so much more to explore nearby.

Great place to enjoy the River and the Night Lights

By justget1 |

Whether you are with your best buddy, a date, or the kids, the riverfront has something for everyone. However, Smale has a little more FUN than most places. Between the carrousel, the swings, the maze, and the water spouts, it's a kid (or kid at heart's) idea of a good time. At night, it's well lit but dark enough to appreciate the lights of the cities on both sides of the river.

Short family trip

By jennifer l |

Absolutely beautiful park, we stopped by before an event at the convention center, really neat stuff for kids to do, the big swings are great to take in the amazing view of the bridges, river and Kentucky on the other side..would visit again if im in the area

Best Park/City Scenery to Visit in Cincinnati

By Y Y |

As someone lives near the city of Cincinnati, the Riverfront Park is a must-see place whenever I have visitors from out of state or country. Parking is easy and not expensive ($4); the riverfront scenery with bridges across the Ohio River to Kentucky is stunningly beautiful; and a walk to the nearby Fountain Square and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Museum is convenient.

A great addition to the Cincinnati riverfront

Beautiful First Visit

By Margaret H |

Finding a place so near to downtown Cincinnati- a place to watch riverboats and people alike- is hard tome come by. Unless you find Smale. WOW easy to park and easy to navigate, Smale offers so many things other than just a great view of the city: a brewery, a carousel, swings, bikes, views of Kentucky, and happy people being happier. Its all t'here. If you don't mind the few panhandlers we ran across (you always find them around big cities- dont forget) , Smale is a great place to spend the afternoon on a summer day with your family. Very safe. Kids are everywhere and so are people who appreciate the beauty of this small yet very fine park.

Outstanding place for families, couples, even individuals to hang out

By Gloria D |

We wanted a place to go for a walk and to see some of the city sights. Right by the football stadium is Smale Riverfront Park. It is very large and has so many paths, all beautifully landscaped. The labyrinth is fun and the swings, playground, and splashpads for the kids are so great. I loved walking along the river, but next time will go across the big bridge.

Cleanest urban park I've ever seen.

By Karin K |

Beautifully landscaped riverfront park with many diversions (a ride-on flying pig, giant foot piano, maze, swings, gardens). Beautiful view of the city, the suspension bridge, the stadium and ballpark, and convenient to dining at the banks. Don't miss!

Beautiful Area

By heather8032018 |

We made visited the park this weekend while the Reds were playing the Cubs. It was such a neat area. We loved the swings facing the water. It made for a relaxing evening. There were splash pads and restaurants near-by, as well as green space. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area. My teenage son even thought it was cool.

I always make it a point to visit

This park is right on the river front. It's absolutely beautiful. Lots of areas to walk, lay out a blanket and read, or throw a frisbee with friends.

Great way to spend a day

By misscreef |

This was a great park with lots to do. It was a nice hot day and the water features were great for everyone. We were having so much fun we rolled down the hill. Warning: Do not do this! The grass was so hard and sharp we got little cuts all over our arms. The kids had as much fun playing as I did. We even saw a couple get engaged! Definitely a must see.

Great!

By Marjorie M |

This was a wonderrful addition to the riverfront. There were families enjoying the area, couples strolled, and solitary visitors also enjoyed the view and the swings.

It's quite easy to spend an afternoon or early evening walking along the Ohio River in Smale Park. They've added a number of different sections to the Park, virtually all of which are interesting. Don't go if you're looking for excitement or nightlife....this is an outdoor, walking experience.

It was super boring. I hated every second. The stone circles threw me for a loop. I was supposed to meet an old friend but they just never arrived.

Fun for all ages!

By 121Cintia |

A lovely walk, roses, sports, activities for kids, views for all, swings to watch the Ohio River go by.

Something for everyone!

By PhotoXavi |

The parking can be challenging, so plan ahead (there are lots, but watch out for games that make the area more parked up than usual), but once you are out of the car it is gorgeous and fun -- even for very young kids! The interactive flying pig sculpture is my favorite, but we have gone with kids who loved the water features and climbing areas with slides even more. It is a great summer outing location!

This is my peaceful place

By axj23 |

I absolutely love this place! The fountains, the colors, the park. It's all magical. The wind coming off the water, the swings. It's a perfect atmosphere. Whenever people want to hang out and we don't know where to go I always suggest coming here. When people come in from out of town I always tell them to go here. And then to check out the banks.

Love this park

By PrfPam |

This park has so much to offer! Swings overlooking the Ohio River, a garden maze, climbing things for kids, water features. It is in the center of things - The Great American Ballpark, a Carousel, Morelein House Restaurant which overlooks the park and the river. So many features, this park is great for adults and children!

I go as often as I can and take the kids, who LOVE the park.

Creative and fun

By jazzy472021 |

What a fun and scenic area to explore while visiting Cincinnati and the riverwalk. There are swings to enjoy, play areas to explore, a nice walkway along the river with a closeup view of the bridge, and even a light show at the fountain steps! A very creative and thoughtful design. We visited in the evening so parking was easy, no crowds, and just a nice place to be outside.

A lot of cities could learn something from Cincinnati's development of its riverfront. This was my first time walking the area, and I couldn't believe all the cool and fun things to do in the park. I can't wait to bring my family down there next time we are visiting Cincinnati.

Giant porch swings overlooking the river. Majestic views of the Roebling bridge. Spray fountains for the kids. A view of the Cincinnati skyline and the Great American Ball Park. I guess it's much nicer in summer

By BrakiWorldTraveler |

After crossing the beautiful Roebling bridge we stopped for half an hour at this park. Although it was freezing in first January days this year, we enjoyed our walk. Had a walk by the semi frozen Ohio river with views of the bridge and Cinci high rises.
Covered with snow it was kind a winter idyll, but I guess it's much more beautiful in summer.

Located front the Ohio river in downtown Cincinnati this is a best place for visit where have restaurants and stadiums! Stunning view for take a pictures and walking!

A great free attraction!

By IvanSusanin1613 |

This is apparently a fairly recent project, since we didn’t see it when we visited the city about fifteen years ago. There is a splendid view of and across the broad and placid Ohio river that goes on for quite a ways since the park is fairly long. There are numerous ornamental plants, large swing/benches facing the river, play equipment for children, bathrooms, picnic tables. The park is very clean and quite well-tended. We paid seven dollars for an hour and a half of parking across the street, but as others have mentioned there is free parking nearby if you have time to look for it (we didn’t).

Beautiful Park

By Thomas & Susan C |

Enjoyed the many gardens and views...my favorite spot was the Swings. My husband and I sat there for hours just swinging and enjoying the riverfront view!

Green space

By checkmate2016 |

Nice to find some green space in the middle of downtown. Nice river walk. Great river/bridge views. Porch-like swings we're relaxing. Many photo opportunities. Unfortunately, the merry-go-round closed early the day we were there. We rode the Sky Wheel with a $40 family pass from Groupon. Fountains and other water features are seasonal. We did not find the giant piano keys or chess game. Not sure if these features are seasonal as well, or if they no longer have them. Close parking options and a few restaurants. We had good food and drinks at the nearby Christian Moerlein Brewery. Worth checking out.

Gorgeous

By Pras499 |

The reinvention of the Queen City is defined by this spot. It represents modern amenities for young families to appreciate the splendor of Cincy. Love the swings, fountains, Ohio River and view of the city. A must for visitors with kids in my opinion.

Romatic Spot

By vincentbP2778EM |

This park is very romantic and beautiful.Great view and a lot of restaurant around. Nice and peaceful atmosphere.

Fall weekend away

By Melo-Dee C |

What a nice place to visit. Parking was easy downtown and lots to do while there. Ball park, river walk, bridge walks, Graeter’s ice cream, aquarium, swings, dinner, shopping… a whole day. Pick a day warm enough to be outside and the family should have a blast.

Free Fun!

By PMT |

This is a must stop by for families in the summer! Many water features and interactive things to do. There are family sized swings, climb-ons, playground with slides near the Roeblig bridge, and huge checker and chess sets. My kids' favorite things to visit is the labyrinth and the "creek." Make sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes during the warmer months. It's still fun in the winter, but it's not nearly as pretty and there isn't as much to do (water features aren't functional in winter).

Wondrous spot

By puckhead510 |

Awesome riverfront park! Great way to spend an afternoon - for young and old alike. Sitting in the swings, watching the boat traffic go by.....

Family Outing Incomplete But Fun

By SharenSierra |

The City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Parks and Recreation do an excellent job at planning and maintaining the green spaces; however, Smale Park feels a little incomplete for a family outing for all ages and economically. I enjoy many outing with my niece and nephew now 11 and 13 as well as a core group of young girls I coach beginning when they were 7 and now 11-13 yrs of age. I am often walking or running to keep my eyes on the girls. I notice the fantastic array of cultures represented as well as seniors, singles, couples, and families. I also see the lack of available selection of affordable and healthy (and not so healthy) food and refreshments, comfortable sitting and shade available for seniors and the physically impaired.

Also, I genuinely understand the need for commerce but how and why do you think an average family of four can afford $10.00 for parking.

Yes, there are restaurants up the steps around the corner but let's be real none are affordable and most if not all are millennials friendly not family friendly.

Yes, there are cheaper parking spaces than those directly across from SMALE Park wink- wink but a 1/4 mile walk hinders a family with strollers, toys, drinks, and snacks. Or what about the seniors and physically impaired.

I am just wondering who crossed the T and dotted the I on Smale Park.

The purpose and intent I thought was a fun, family-friendly and free outing.

Great Park

By chooseytraveler2015 |

Love this park. It’s great for just walking by yourself with friends or your dog, or for the kids to enjoy. There is the carousel and the restaurants and Great American nearby. We love it During all seasons.

Well done. Riverfront area.

By loist51 |

Great place to walk for people, families, pets. Swings, too, on riverfront in downtown Cincinnati across the river from Kentucky. We also walked between the stadiums downtown and felt it was a safe area in which to walk and enjoy being outside.

Park on the riverfront

By Tom B |

Huge park and playground near the enclosed Carousal and the new Ferris Wheel. Between The Cincinnati Reds Great American Ballpark and the Cincinnati Bengals Paul Brown Stadium. Beautiful Ohio Riverfront.

Absolutely beautiful!

By Patricia S |

Very nice walkway down the river, beautiful flowers, and an area that is dedicated to Black History. I would suggest going on a day when there is no game. We paid $4 to park. It's across from both major ball parks. On an event day (unless you are going to a game anyway) I'm sure the parking wouldn't be less that $30

Beautiful!

By Christina S |

This park is absolutely amazing. The facelift Cincinnati needed. Beautiful setting right on the Ohio River. Walking trails, playground, porch type swings facing the river.

Love to run in Smale Park

By 442vickir |

If you haven't visited Cincinnati for several years a visit to Smale Riverfront Park will be a very pleasant surprise. On any given day you can find families playing in fountains and mazes. Teams playing large chess and checkers sets. Runners, walkers, strollers, and people swinging on swings. Don't miss out on the beautiful carrousel ride for kids of all ages.

The river views are beautiful and the pathways beg to be walked and run on. It is a must stop over for an afternoon of casual play and relaxing. Very nice public restrooms make it comfortable to stay long.

Nice before or after dinner

By Melissa R |

This park runs along the Ohio river front on the cincinnati side. It is very clean, safe, and full of people. There are many different areas for activities along the path for young and old. Many beautiful flowers and a large amount of green space. Much of the jungle gym equipment are very unique. My favorite are the gigantic porch swings that overlook the river. My favorite time to go is the evening when the sun is going down. A lovely spot in a congested city.

Beautifully done

By Linda O |

Visited this park and it was very nicely done. Lots going on, close to restaurants and other activities. Movie being filmed there when we were there so that was interesting.

Wow, what a poster child for downtown

By Ben K |

Fabulous amenities, indoor carousel, things for the kids to climb on in, splash pad, waterways for kids to stomp around in, water canal for the kids to play in, giant swings overlooking the river, we'll maintained landscaping, bike path, giant chess/checkers set, cool playset to climb on.. Plenty of parking, plenty of great places to eat nearby... Definitely something for Cincinnati to be proud of.

WONDERFUL!

By Jack C |

A visit to downtown Cincinnati needs to include Smale Park. Quiet, clean, relaxing.
the park connects all along the Ohio river for great views.

Nice river views.

By shaun r |

Nice park to escape and go for a walk. Walk over the. BRidge as well. There is parking close by for $4 on a non game day. Enjoy the views.

A showplace by the river

By Atbjr@fuse.net |

We are frequent visitors th of this park complex on the north side of the Ohio River between the baseball and football stadiums. There is much for every member of a three generation family from shady swings to watch the river and a mandala to slides and climbing for youngsters. Rental bicycles and pedal wagons are available.
A fountain and beautiful carousel which features hand carved Cincinnati themed fantastic animals are on the north side of the street.
I would recommend a visit at a time that does not conflict with the beginning or end of a football or baseball game when traffic and parking can be problematic

Good way to spend a couple hours

By Annette B |

A great way to spend time on a warm October day. Several different attractions along with the walk across the suspension bridge. Fun just enjoy the sights and life.

Very nice place

By cjpelf |

FREE This is a very nice little gem tucked in between the river and downtown Cincinnati. Lots of things for children to play on- giant slides, water feature, jungle gym, etc, - good restaurants close by, very attractive and kept clean. They do need to put in a few more benches for those of us who just like to sit and people watch.

Green Space Along the Ohio River in Downtown

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

Green space along the Ohio River offering nice views of the river and of the John A Roebling Suspension Bridge. The bridge was built in 1866 by John A Roebling who was the same architect of the Brooklyn Bridge which opened 20 years later. It was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening. The park is flanked on each side by the Bengals stadium on one end and The Cincinnati Reds stadium on the other.

Beautiful park

By susan s |

Something for everyone- water features, playgrounds, giant chess, labyrinth, gardens, walking/biking paths, , carausal, sky wheel, adult swings all with a view of the beautiful Ohio.

Riverfront Walk

By Harvey689 |

Beautifully landscaped river front area connecting the Reds and Bengals stadiums and Roebling bridge. We had a nice scenic walk with views back towards downtown Cincinnati and across the river. Nice place to visit for a casual walk when visiting the Reds stadium and gift shop. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the river view.

great place for the grndkids

By mike setzer |

summer is better than winter, because they close some attractions, but even in November, it's fun. check out the foot piano and the porch swings.

One of the best family riverfront parks in the COUNTRY!

By James K |

I'm from Miami, FL and currently live in Nashville, TN, and neither of those places has a family-friendly waterfront park as nice as this! Beautiful gardens, nice views of the Cumberland, lots of places to rest and take it all in, and a huge section full of really nice metal swings made to seat 3-4 people each! There are lots of fun water features for the kids (and kids at heart) to play in, and that was especially helpful as it was 94 degrees during our visit! Huge chess and checkers sets ... must be 20'x20'! There's even a musical element where you can step on the keys of a keyboard on the ground and it will play the chimes above you. I couldn't help myself and gave those around a little rendition of "Smoke On the Water," to a sympathetic and friendly applause. X-D Bring the family on down to Smale park!

Could’ve Easily Been a Whole Day

By Mom2Twincesses |

My girls are 10 and we’re in complete heaven here! There was plenty to keep them entertained, eating places within walking distance, the SkyWheel, the river and bridge....other than being covered in day campers, it was perfect!

Get your tale down to Smale

By Steven R |

Very nice park right on the river. Lots of fun attractions for the kids and family all around. Many nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Ample parking nearby.

Beautiful Park!

By Katherine M |

My friend took me to this park a couple weeks ago. It is impressive! Gardens everywhere, play areas for kids, swings for adults, the flying pig, a floor piano that chimes when you step on the keys, giant chess and checkers boards under the bridge, great views of the Cincinnati Skyline, and the Great American Ball Park. Something for everyone to enjoy. The Roebling Suspension Bridge is a beautiful bridge that crosses the Ohio River to Covington, Ky. If Sacramento's riverfront was as beautiful as this park, I would spend more time there.

Beautiful park

By Kaleidoscope55 |

We enjoyed this park. It was a lot of walking but the 3 children we had with us enjoyed all the different areas to play. It was unique and lots of fun for the little ones! The indoor carousel was a hit.

$5 parking fee in a small park. Park on Pete Rose Way for free instead.

By jgbtravels |

OK, the GPS took me to the entrance which requires a $5 credit card payment for parking. Really? Fortunately I was able to back out and find a spot nearby on Pete Rose Way for free. It’s a small park that’s pleasant enough but certainly not worth the cost for parking. There was nothing of note going on and I spent perhaps 15 minutes walking around. By the same token I could park for free across the river at the small park in Bellevue, Kentucky with a view of Cincinnati. It’s OK but not worth the $5 parking fee.

A wonderful park on our riverfront.

By debten01 |

This is a lovely walkable Park. It is great fun for kids. The swings are fun for all ages. There are many slides and climbing opportunities for kids, also water features for the very warm weather.

Vacation in NYC

By tlzimm47 |

Well kept grounds and gardens. It had unusual displays and ample places to sit and relax. It is along the Ohio river and views of the city across the river.

Really cool

By Scott T |

Cincinnati is the most underrated city in the US. Great for adults, kids, families. The city has it all. My kids loved this park. From the maze to the water features. So awesome.

Beautiful city center rehab project near both stadiums and concert hall.

By John M |

The Smale family contributed this beautiful city center rehab project near both stadiums and concert hall, and revitalized this part of the city center.

Beautiful views

Very nice park! Great views with the museum a walkable distance away. Stop by with the family if you get a chance!

Great place to walk around

Awesome place to enjoy some time - clean, nice and an attractive waterfront to get a good start of Cincy. Well done to the folks who keep this an attractive destination!

Beautiful At Night

By Carol Beth |

When I was a kid, going to Sawyer Point was a big deal. It had all the cool stuff. Now, this place is it. Especially at night. Its a great place for a date or families. Lots to see and do. Dog friendly! Well Done, Cincinnati!

A must see for visitors

By KathyJo |

Shows the charm & beauty of Cincinnati's downtown & riverfront. Stroll through gardens. See dancing fountains. Walk the labyrinth. Don't miss the creative interactive features for kids/adults. If you're visiting in the spring, summer, or fall, this is a must see! Bars & restaurants are just down the street.

Such a delightful addition to our riverfront. Great views nice walking fun things for children to do.

Fun and free park!

Great place to visit whether summer or winter. Lots of space to run and play. Slides, climbing walls and other equipment provide varied types of activity. You might make a plan for parking before visiting.

This is a great park with lovely walkways and great landscaping. Easy to get to and a wonderful use of green space.

Great walkway for visitors and as well a great summer relaxing activity. It has a beautiful garden, excellent view of the city and better view of the iconic Cincinnati bridges.

great park!

great for out of town visitors, great for weekly exercise (walks, runs or rides), picturesque for photo shoots, near plenty of overpriced food and drinks.

A Great Addition to Cincinnati's Riverfront

By Tj_ncinci |

Smale Park is such a wonderful addition to downtown Cincinnati! Families will enjoy the park carrousel and more. I love watching from the restaurant views!

Great break from the city

By dawnchugg |

We walked up and down the river front through this park. It is clean, with great views, distances between kid areas, the cooles part were the hanging swings that sat on top of the hill.

Beautiful

By ctshoregirl |

Smale Riverfront Park is absolutely gorgeous! I was traveling solo and my initial impression of Cincinnati was that I just didn't feel safe some of the places I went. Smale Riverfront Park was not that way. It is clean, it felt safe, there were lots of people milling around enjoying the trails, gardens and playscape. The gardens are amazing, the water features are tranquil, and the views of the Roebling Bridge, and across to Kentucky are lovely. Definitely spend some time here if you can. It is a peaceful retreat at the edge of downtown.

Great for the family and wonderful variety of activities to partake in.

By Mike C |

Having read about this park, we definitely had to check it out. It is every bit as wonderful as many other Trip Advisor community members have described. From the play area designed for younger kids (<7) to the oversized checkers and chess boards to the magical flying pig and gigantic piano, there was no shortage of things to keep our two boys busy.

Away from the giggles and shrills of kids having fun, there were many bench swings along the riverbank that we found ourselves enjoying on this most beautiful of days. Unlike that in Charleston, SC, there were may swings which each easily fit three adults. Right behind these benches are picnic tables set within rail tracks that can be moved as needed.

Within a simple walk are the Bengals and Reds home fields as well. So so very enjoyable and a great way to get good quality family time in while outdoors.

Beautiful Sights and Fun Things to do!

By Amber |

This park is absolutely beautiful! There are many things to see! We didn't walk very far unfortunately because it was quite chilly and breezy the day we visited, but the swings along the river were so much fun and the flying pig was a must-do!
The Roebling Bridge is also beautiful! We walked across it into Covington for dinner. Highly Recommend!
Parking garages line the opposite side of the street from the park and we paid about $9 for around 2+ hours there.

Beautful Gardens, swings and water fountains for kids to play in!

By RoadTrippinJen |

Lots for kids to do with: swings, water fountains, games, nearby food and restrooms. Great for couples and walkers too!

Gorgeous and peaceful

By al25 |

A nice park to take a stroll in. Plenty to look at and do. Nice swinging benches. Serpentine wall is fun to walk or sit on.

Great walk along the river

By Greg W |

Smale Park has been completed since 2012, and is a great feature of Cincinnati's riverfront. Walking along the river, over the Roebling bridge, and along historic Covington is a great walk.

Stroll

By FAY E |

Nice place for everyone to walk and enjoy. Green and clean with the exception of a few irresponsible pet owners.

A nice serene green place by the Ohio River

By Marta E |

I came down here to while I was walking in downtown Cincinnati and wanted to view the river close up as I call the desert my home! I saw a carousel, a fountain, a type of water slide and more. You can view the historic suspension bridge from here as well as some old steamboats docked on the Newport side. Everyone around here looked like they were relaxing or having fun; I also saw colorful and fresh gardens, come down here to relax or have fun!

Better landscape and recreational opurtunities on the Riverfront.

By buldog0207 |

Walking along the riverfront used to involve seeing river debris and weeds. Now it is Recreational space and landscaped areas. You can rent a bike, segway, or use the playground areas.

Walking here is safe, diverse and fun!

By PuzzleSolver855 |

I love the terraces, the fountains, the spin class, the bridges...oh, I just think this is a terrific place to spend time. I'm from out of town but if I lived here, I'd enjoy this all of the time.

City Gem

By Gregg G |

The Cincinnati riverfront is one beautiful place to spend a pleasant afternoon. Be it before a ballgame, before or after a meal at one of the many restaurants, or just a walk to take in all the wonderful sights, Smale Riverfront Park is magnificent.

There are plenty of bars to visit before / after as well.

Great urban hike

By Wendy J |

We started off at Smale Riverfront park after finding great parking across the street next to the stadium. This park meanders along the Ohio river and connects to at least three other parks that are all well maintained. Lots of trees, good views of the sports venues and bridges, water features, playground areas for kids and comfy front porch style swings. A lovely spot for a long walk.

FUN!

By Gina W |

We had a great time with our son here, however be careful as the area isn't the best. We did see someone get arrested, guns drawn on the highway bridge and there was a fatal shooting just a few blocks away, broad daylight when we were there.

really nice

By 53bunny |

Just a great way to spend an afternoon. really well done. the grounds are beautiful. In addition there are many restaurants nearby.

Nice park, even at night

By rcw923 |

We happened upon this park while walking along the river at night. The park fountains were lit up in fun colors. There were plenty of people and families around- walking, playing, and enjoying the warm summer night.

Loved it here

By ThompsonDM |

I am glad I stopped to explore this area. It was a beautiful Saturday morning. Not many people were there. There had been recent flooding of the Ohio, but crews were cleaning up the last of it. It would have been more beautiful after the flowers started to bloom. I was about a week early. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the access to the bridges.

Great for families

By Lowell B |

Took the kids and grandchildren they love the entire range of activities in the park from the piano keys that you could step on to make music to the water fountains of sprang up from the ground

Lovely riverside park

By Mrs Smithoir |

We walked a small area between the Baseball stadium and the Football Stadium along the river front and under the Roebling Bridge. It was really well maintained and clean. Great playgrounds for children and parents to interact with each other, using water features, climbing frames and interactive playground features. Also, there are a selection of swing seats for adults to sit and watch the world go by from the Riverside. These seats are made for 2 and make a great, fun alternative to bench seats.

Fun for Kids!

By cjoyk |

We love Smale Park and all the fun and interactive elements it has. We took our son to play in the water features over the summer. He really enjoyed it. There are nice views of the river and a variety of different activities, including bench swings, a carousel, a foot piano, and a giant chess board.

A beautiful city park that Cincinnati residentsd can be proud of

By margieinitaly |

A fun place to spend some outdoor time. This park has something for everyone and is right on the riverfront, so the ambience is great

Beautiful park. No free parking

By WCC2011 |

The park is beautiful and we'll maintained. Police do patrol often to make sure it is safe. Only bad thing is that parking is not free.

Great Fun

By Nicholas & Sarah |

Our daughter loved everything from the playground and flying pig, to the swings and the view. Out of everything we did in our short time in Cincy, she loved the family swings alongside the river.

Fun park right on the river!

By Allie M |

Smale park has a number of things to do... life-size chess game, playground for kids, unique artwork, etc. Summer is the best time to visit Smale park and enjoy the warm weather and river views!

Great City Riverfront Park

By nichfam |

Enjoyed strolling thru this new park below the football stadium with great view of Cinncinati on one side & Ohio River & KY on other side. Played on keyboard like on in Big movie & enjoyed the metal glider swing by the river. All ages can enjoy this place.

Gorgeous Riverfront Property

By Gmoney221 |

Smale Riverfront Park runs the length of downtown Cincinnati, separating it from the Ohio River. Romantic, scenic, tranquil, and photogenic are four adjectives I'd best use to describe Smale Riverfront Park. With easy access to both the Bengals and Reds facilities as well as numerous food options nearby, the park is perfect for a date or family night. Heck, even if you're flying solo, like I was, you'll find the place ideal.

Nice urban park.

By MountaineerLu |

One of the nicest urban riverfront parks that we have visited. Clean , well maintained and safe. Lots of nice things to see. A minus is lack of public restrooms and the fact that this park and the entire Ohio River is separated from the city by a busy ground level highway of several lanes and a eight LANE interstate partially submerged. There are crosswalks to get to this park but this is not enough to overcome a feeling of disconnect from the city.

Great Riverfront Location

By Skeney57 |

Even on a bitterly cold day there were joggers, walkers, cyclists & parents with kids using the various facilities from the paths , tracks , play equipment and the indoor carousel ! The ferris wheel was dormant, out of season but the whole riverfront is vibrant & useable at all times.

Innovative Children's Park

By Deano3933 |

$4 parking next to the park, really nice landscaping and innovative, interactive playground for kids - Water features, rock climbing, balance poles, giant chess and checkers court, wall climbing, rope bridge and a foot activated keyboard for a carillon! Great view of the 1867 suspension bridge above. Right across the street from good restaurants and the Underground Railroad museum. Very pleasant!

Great for young and old

By kate554433 |

Enjoyed the park on a sunny day. Our group enjoyed the foot operated xylophone/piano thing and the flying pig statue you can climb in and move (an 80 year old in our group got in!). Children were enjoying the multiple water features. We enjoyed walking along the river. I love that there are a lot of bench swings along the water.

Two Sisters

By Pearl M |

We stopped on our way through the area. It was a very interesting & attractive park. The scenery was beautiful with the water beside you and the city scape on the other side with numerous bridges. The swings they had for adults as well as children was a neat touch. Enjoyed our visit, was well worth the stop.

Great Observation Wheel

By Mike G |

Place is always clean and safe. The new observation wheel is a hit with visitors. In the summer many activities go on to keep the place active for visitors

Great for All Ages

By Katiehal0426 |

This is a great place to visit, young or old! We love bringing our almost two year old little boy. He can enjoy the water-splash area, the over-sized musical instruments and climb around on the playground.

This place is also perfect for a date night. You can walk across the bridge or just sit and swing, enjoying the skyline at sunset.

A real gem for Cincy...what was wasted concrete is now beautiful!

By Justin G |

Not only is the park pretty it has so many fun and truly unique activities for kids and adults alike...the fountains and water play areas were a huge hit for our 8 and 6 year old boys, as were the musical organ pipes, and the flying pig (classic Cincinnati image made into a playground piece the kids can climb in and glide up and down with the pigs wings flapping) Fun and worth the visit whether you are staying downtown or just down visiting...especially if you are at a game make time to go here before or after! Park in the large garages under the banks restaurants, and you're right there!

PRETTY AND BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE

By rjpoll |

Visiting from Connecticut and enjoyed Smale Park. The swings were great and we enjoyed the peaceful walk through the park. Disappointed that the nearby Carousel was closed due to a private party.

By JimDeBerry |

For Day Visitors its great to walk the doggie or bring the kids. that got water fountains, merry go-round.

the night it can be a romantic spot behind the bridge for that perfect selfie.

busy street traffic.

Great setting

By Becky T |

Loved finding this park just off the Purple People Bridge. We walked over from Northern Kentucky after visiting the Newport Aquarium and Newport on the Levee. Connecting these iconic areas together is wonderful. The park is beautifully located on the Ohio River. It provides historic opportunities and relaxation.

Amazing park

By JWK1402 |

A must visit if you are visting Cincinnati or if you are local to the area. Great place for a nice walk/bike, area for kids play, water falls and fountains, beautiful view, and a hop, skip and jump to the Great American Ballpark and great restaurants.

Great for walking

By havingfuntraveling |

Very impressive river walk park. Impressed with the different children’s playgrounds, swings, and views. The views were great. We walked over the Roebling extension bridge into Kentucky. The view from there was amazing. The Cincinnati skyline, the two sports stadiums, riverboat. Highly recommend, have fun

Walk Along the River

By Caleb J |

This is an very nice area along the river. It's a great place to walk along with the activities they offer to enhance the experience.

Great spot of free family fun

By Andrea T |

We moved away from Cincinnati before Smale Park opened and now we visit on almost every return trip. So much for kids do, from the oversized swings, to water features, mazes, unusual playground equipment.

We typically spent a few hours in the park and then head across the street to grab a snack or meal and a drink.

One of My Favorite Spots in Downtown!

By Amna R |

I am always amazed with the renovations and changes they have made in downtown Cincinnati. Smale Park is one of the most beautiful additions! There is a beautiful walking trail, riverside swings, an unbeatable view, and of course, the interactive park! Would easily recommend for all ages :)

A city gem!

By 999Vince |

We spent an afternoon walking around downtown in Cincinnati after visiting the must-see Freedom Railroad Centre and came across this beautiful park on the bank of the river dividing Ohio and Kentucky.

The beauty and efforts put into this park is amazing! There are installations for kids to enjoy their time. Beautiful flower gardens and amazing structures for all ages.

This park is a minute-walk from downtown pubs, restaurants and the ballpark.

Enjoy!

No trip to Cincinnati complete without a stop at Smale Park

By Christine Lemmon |

Summer isn't complete until you take the kids to the splash pad at Smale Park and a ride on the Merry-go-round. Check calendars because there are children's activities scheduled on a regular basis. Put the kids on he giant swing.

One of My New Favorite Spots!

By Dana W |

After returning to my hometown after almost 20 years, I fell in love with Smale Riverfront Park. Explored the many activities for kids (the large keyboard and chimes, the flying pig, hopping the rocks in the "creek"), and sat on the swings overlooking the river. It was such a relaxing way to spend the day and soak in the city.

AMAZING!

By Sarah K |

Beautiful park! So fun! Beautiful gardens and cool swings and playgrounds for kids. Also great view of the bridge! Would definitely go again and again. A true gem!

Excellent

By ynot011 |

Enjoyed this park immensely. Parking nearby for small fee. We walked around, enjoyed band playing music, sitting on the adult swings enjoying the river view as well as the breeze. Large park, beautiful landscaping. Great for young children with the water sprinklers and slides. Just an overall great space!

A Must see for all ages

By Ramachandran R |

This park is fun for all. This has a spray-park, a real labyrinth, Swings, benches, activities, kids play area, riverfront walk and what not. One can defenitely spend 2 - 3 hours here. Especially with toddlers and young kids. There are few parking garages near the park. The skyline and riverfront views from the park is amazing.
Will have missed something big during my Cincinnati trip if I had skipped this.

Great View, Lots to See

By Mary Molly |

We parked near the stadium ($5) and walked all through the park. We ended up going all the way down to the Purple People Bridge. Including dinner at Moerlein's, I think we spent about two and a half hours on the waterfront. Due to COVID-19, all of the water features and water fountains were shut off, which was a bummer because it was hot out. The swings are super relaxing.

Wonderful

By TWB |

What a terrific place to spend the day or a few hours. Cincinnati's riverfront is full of park and this one is terrific. I visit often, and it is easy to find a place to relax and watch the world go by or wander around.

Urban hike

By Cyril B |

Park for free in Mt. Adams. Wander your way down the interesting steps and ramps to the river. You will find Smale Park there. Walk along the river on all kinds of paths in either direction. Great views and plants and places for kids to play and history and places to sit down or throw a ball. Work hard then go toward the baseball park and find lots of restaurant choices and have a reward for your workout. Nice all year round.
