Best Mall

By GlobalGourmet101 |

Great mall with many upscale stores without the crowds of Rodeo Drive. Lots of parking and food options. Great for all ages. Highly recommend.

Great mall

By anna m |

Every store imaginable! Clean, safe! Good restaurants, nursing lounges for Moms. Easy parking and other stores nearby.. Marshall’s, cvs and more. Mall has walkway over highway where all the stores are for the home.

Not the best mall for kids

By kiwimann35 |

Took family but not the best for little kids as this mall is very high end, wife loved it as she got sum jimmy Choo
No sports shop wth nba or Mlb tops so had to go to different mall after this mall,
But if you are after high end clothes this is your place

Quality is SCP

By rcaldin |

I worked across the street from South Coast Plaza for 10 years and always found this place to be top-notch.

That really look to do everything perfectly even though some of the stores are very expensive and I would never buy anything there.

Has to be one of the most professionally run places I can think of they have a huge selection of incredible restaurants and I never have trouble finding anything I need there

Huge

By Michael H |

This place is massive. We spent several hours here and couldn't get through everywhere. There's a ton of restaurants as well which is quite nice. Expensive!

High End Shopping

By SixtyOne |

Great Shopping mall that’s full of all the famous brands. Lots to see and do, great restaurants too. Allow plenty of time to explore and shop.

A must visit

By Lori D |

South Coast Plaza and the surrounding stores are a must visit. So many choices for all price points.

Macy’s has a large home store separate from its clothing store.

Get you free piece of chocolate from Sees. I park under ground to keep out of the sun.

Fantastic Mall where there are so many specialty stores and excellent restaurants.

By dancejazzy |

The mall is very upscale so it's like walking through a fancy place and they even have Valet parking. If you want designer clothes and accessories or just regular stores it's more fun to go just because it's fancier than most malls. I especially like the Microsoft store because they offer classes. There is a carousel for little kids. I like to go to because I can combine it with a movie or the Barnes and Noble bookstore across the street.

Too upscale to be fun any more

By Mike |

Twenty years ago my wife and I would get a casual dinner and People watch. Then we'd walk the mall enjoying a few stores and window shop. Now with virtually every story the caliber of Tiffany, Chanel, and Gucci, its not much fun to walk into a store with an armed guard. You need to be from a foreign country to afford this place.

Cool high end shops

By LMLand |

Full of expensive eye candy! We easily spent several hours browsing shops and checking out the different attractions inside.

Best shopping destination

By DayTrip672700 |

I call this plaza "little Italy" by far the best and my most favorite shopping plaza in CA!
I'm a regular at La Perla 😜😍

Apple help and Just Lookin

By Eileen M |

Bought a new Apple iPad and had ?? for the folks at Apple store. Once I FOUND THE STORE!! (Be sure to have an appointment!) I was impressed with their efficiency and product knowledge. .these guys/gals are sharp! This store is packed with customers, so again I stress having an appointment.
After Apple store I love walking this mall. The stores are varied, running gamut of baby/kids/teens/designer. Department stores (Bloomingdale's/Nordstrom/Macy's) for everything or William's Sonoma/Pottery Barn for special home/kitchen items.
I love mall walking and people watching. This is definitely a higher end mall. Enjoy shopping or walking.

ABUNDANCE OF STORES

By Jo S |

Stores of all price ranges and variety available from Chanel to Macys! Good food choices as well. BIG Mall

Shopping

By samscammell |

Great shopping variety, but not much available for those with a small budget! Definitely a place for a bigger spender with a lot of high end brands

Convenient and awesome

By veronicaproulx |

This shopping plaza is consists of a lot of high end stores but also have a lot of affordable stores. There are tons of botiques and restaurants too that you can eat and dine with your family and friends.
Some stores are affordable and mostly are not but people go here to just walk around and relax.

Perfect plan for a rainy day!

By Dany Z |

We couldn't have picked a better day to visit South Coast Plaza. Not only was it raining all day, which it never does, but there was parking, some Easter stuff for our son to enjoy and there's nothing you need to shop for that you cannot find here! There are also great restaurants and a movie theater, perfect for all ages! Plus, we spotted spider man!

Love this place

By Krishma B |

I love south coast plaza. Specially during holidays. All the decorations are so adorable. They go crazy with decorations. Near the carousel, they have huge snow mountain decorations. I love it. The mall as a whole has lot of fashionable stores. Across the bridge, there are more additional stores. It's best place to shop. Enjoyed window shopping too.

Great shopping!

By C L |

Big mix of stores
Easy parking
Great restaurants
Fun shopping
Gucci store is huge and has more jewelry than the Rodeo Drive store!

LOVE THIS PLACE. It is a destination.

By AwardproTravel |

Love this shopping center for any and everything. So clean so nice. Truly like coming here when I need a gift or just want to look at what is new. Very nice, enjoy going to South Coast Plaza.

Very nice mall in Southern California

By mariedesjardins |

Last visited SCP in August 2015. A number of the stores from when I was there in 2010 were no longer there. This isn't surprising since there is constantly new openings in such a nice retail location. About a 15 minute drive from Disney Resort area. We usually spend a day here and then go for dinner at Main Place on the way back to Anaheim. Very good Macy's here with lots of selection and price ranges for all consumers. Mix of affordable stores in with the luxury stores. Many places to get lunch while shopping such as corner bakery near Bloomingdales on bottom floor or champagne bakery between Macy's and Macy's home (near the bridgewalk). There are also places for dinner surrounding the mall in the nearby parking areas across the street or in the mall lot itself.

Upscale Mall

By Roy D |

Prime boutiques and top rated anchor stores. All designer wear to meet the need of the global market that is found in Costa Mesa.

Get ready to walk and spend some money

By Sandy A |

Beautiful mall. Higher end stores and there’s cute coffee shops and tasty restaurants inside. Has a beautiful centered carousel and have events every month or so

Crystal Court

By twofromLA |

We have been shopping at South Coast Plaza for 30+ years. These days we usually find what we need on the Crystal Court side. Like the home dec and restaurants in CC.

Not everyone's cup of tea

By Hilary R |

My husband grew up in Costa Mesa so he wanted to take me to the plaza. 90% is high end retailers, which is fine. Very clean, but boy was it a little too hot for us inside. We made the visit short and went elsewhere just to have air conditioning.

South Coast Plaza

By 2uhomala |

Wonderful place to go shopping and even dinner.went shopping at Macy’s and then had dinner and drinks at the Claim Jumper.

It was okay

By Hiromi H |

We were here to do some shopping for school clothes with a teenage kiddo. Generally, I don't like coming here. He wanted to shop at Uniqlo and we ended up grabbing a bite to eat at Wahoo's because we were hungry. It was okay.

My favorite mall in the whole world!

By ArleneB435 |

South Coast Plaza (SCP) has been around a long time - first built in the early 70's and has grown and upgraded over the years. It's a very class place - lovely places for dining or coffee, designer shops, specialty shops and something for everyone. It's adjacent to Crystal Court - across an overpass which also is lovely so you can shop at both places. Parking is sufficient and there's good security available. Check it out if you havevn't!

Love this Mall !!!!

By C. Landa V. |

This is one of the best shopping centers I have ever been to.... It has all the stores you could imagine. It's easy to find what you want.
It has the best Designer stores.
Love this place !!!!

AnQi Restaurant at South Coast Plaza

By KrisGoldie |

I loved spending my day at South Coast Plaza. After shopping, I was looking for a really unique place to have lunch, and I found it at AnQi by House of An. The food was delicious! I had lobster with garlic rice, and the rice and the flavor of the entire dish was amazing! The center is well laid-out and it's very easy to navigate. It will be a must-visit for me the next time I'm in Orange County.

Vacation MUST SEE

By Ruth Ann L |

It's like No other shopping Experience. It's Beautifully payed out ,and so Very clean and the Shopping Options are Covered for Every Taste And Every Age . It's pretty Awesome and the Choices for eating are UNBELEVABLE. it's a True MUST SEE.....

A big mall with all the stores you could want, but not to full off shoppers

By joep735 |

This is a very classy mall with many top branded shops and several of the department stores. It also has several high ended restaurants, but does not have the usual food court which is a little unique. (it does have the excellent rubys which is well worth stopping by)

Plenty of parking space and some of it under cover which is useful in the baking heat. If you look on the malls web site it says it has several partner hotels which can endorse a package for the mall. I thought this would a bit of a waste of time, but it was a free valet park token, entrance into a lounge and a $50 gift certificate which we picked up in the mall. (it was good for all the shops) A great surprise, we stopped in the hilton at Anaheim but I know other hotels were quoted.

Trendy high end super mall

By iluv2eatntravel |

Beautiful South Coast Plaza is not just the biggest high end mall in the West Coast, it is the biggest mall in the West Coast, ranking in the top 5 in the US as of this writing. It’s filled with fine dining, hip restaurants, trendy fashion stores and high end boutiques. While it’s huge, it’s also very walkable. The layout, ambiance and amazing shops makes this mall a delight to window shop or shop.

Beautiful

By elizabethlascheid |

The South Coast Plaza Mall is very large. Ad malls across the US close, this one is still rocking. On the weekends it can get crowded and parking can be a bear, but it is a very pricey mall, so they have valet parking as well.

It is beautiful inside and out and they really keep it super clean. Sure there are some empty store fronts, but for the most part it is doing well. There is nothing cheap in this mall so plan on spending money.

When I was there last year I spent 7K at La Perla alone on bras etc for my daughter. This time I did not look for it so I am not even sure if it is still there.

They have the most wonderful carousel for a fee and that also can get crowded. The horses and other characters are beautiful.

The service at this mall is always great and it is just so pretty.

They have their anchor stores like Nordstrom and a great selection is to be had there.

It is also a great place to walk, it you like to walk malls.

The places to eat are great from a few cheap stands to Watergrill and other fine places to eat.

You will love it. Bring money.

Taj Mahal for shopping

By Daniel H |

Best shopping mall in the USA. Kudos to the Segerstrom family to have the vision and perseverance.
It is a magnet for shopping and food delights that put OC on the map.

Great outdoor mall

By boothism |

A beautiful mall to visit and shop. Close to the beach set in a beautiful atmosphere. Has a variety of shops to choose from and eatries.

Shop and eat

By captainpjd |

Love to go here just for the restaurants' and people watch. This mall at Christmas is really dressed up.

Greatest mall ever

By chrisbridges52 |

Clean and great location. Everything you would want is there. All kinds of stores that meet your needs. Great restaurants

Good and large mall

By bcheong |

Probably the best mall in Irvine, or even Orange county. Fairly large with anchor tenants Nordstrom, Macy’s and Saks. Plus hundreds of other luxury and street brands. Lots of restaurants and cafes too

Expensive but excellent shopping mall.

By Lindyloo1 |

A beautiful shopping mall with just about every shop you could wish for, it's very big and upmarket with many exclusive shops as well as the best department stores and retail shops. On Floor 1 I bought a jumper, jacket and long sleeve tshirt from Gap, their clothes were trendy and very cheap in comparison to other stores and the Gap in the UK. The Starbucks inside the mall is a great place to have coffee.
I had been trying to get a Mac eyeshadow I liked from UK and States for ages and basically had given up but low and behold Bloomingdale's had it so if you use Mac cosmetics that is the place to get all the range.

Top Shelf!

By Bruce Carter |

Haleema Abbasi was a huge help to me today. I needed an engagement gift for some friends outta state that I am visiting Thursday. I didn't have time to drive to the store so Haleema graciously filled my crystal candlestick order over the phone, complete with personal gift card message, gift-wrapping and overnight shipping to me. Saved me all kinds of time. I really appreciate Tiffany's attention to customer care and to whoever is doing the hiring over there, keep it up! You have great people! Thanks Haleema!

Shopping malls in Costa mesa

A Must Do at Christmas Time!

By 746lynng |

Every year we have traveled to Downtown Disney (CA) as part of our Christmas celebration. Unfortunately, every year Disney has diminished its Christmas decorations in the Downtown area; however, South Coast Plaza did not disappoint. In fact, it far exceeded our expectations. It was the most beautiful mall we had ever been in. It came alive with the season's joy and cheer with lovely decorations, a Santa village filled with automation that Disney would have pined after and it was admired by all ages. This mall had new decorations at every turn including beautifully decorated trees. It felt as if you went to the North Pole itself. Hopefully the year of 2020 will permit this joy to occur once again. You won't be disappointed!

One of the Best Shopping Experiences

By Cindy_49 |

Endless shopping opportunities with products and stores covering all price points. Whether it be Macys, Bloomingdales or Cartier.....you can find all stores at this outstanding facility!

High end, high prices, not much i could afford

By ScampinIzzy |

We had a few hours to kill before our flight back to NZ, so decided to take a trip out to the South Coast Plaza; god were we in for a shock.

We thought we were going to visit a large LA mall with affordable shops; wrong, this is high end, high prices and lots of paid security. Probably the safest I felt in the whole of the USA; lots of security, cameras and store detectives.

This is high end shopping to the max, every major high end store you could possibly think of has a store in this location; great if you have pockets full of cash. After an hour of walking around we decided to get some lunch and leave, we were a little sick of seeing people, mainly ladies who were prancing around with their cosmetically altered bodies and designer cloths.

My favourite California shopping mall

By InnaYYZ |

Excellent shopping mall. The July sales were very good, and my favourite of the year. Nice blend of higher end and mid-market stores. Also, nice eateries spread around the mall.

Great shopping experience !

By Joy M |

Great shopping center! You will find all kinds of shops, high to low end. Service good and environment clean. I return often!!

Shopping

By Teresa C |

One if my favorite places to shop in Southern California. Parking is free. I like the escalators. Live music was playing outside Friday that made it a beautiful evening all around.

Lovely mall

By AnnieMac |

One of the nicest malls that you can visit. A little bit too big for finding your way around as a tourist. Plenty of shops from cheaper to high end stores. Not the best Macy's for women's clothes compared to others we've visited. Easy covered bridge link to crate & barrel from main mall.

Designer shopping

By Margeritta |

Ig you are interested in high end shopping this is the place. Also have Marshalls and department store outlets

Elegant mall

By Ryan A |

This was a very elegant mall, it wasn't that crowded and there were so many nice shops, the new normal really needs getting used to, but its ok, if it will keep us safe, its really ok, lots of parking

Favorite Place to Shop in SoCal

By OneOrchidLover |

I love this place because it has all of my favorite shops in one location. It has all the hard to find high end shops. It has a HUGE Louis Vuitton store.

Simply fabulous

By DDTravellerSydney |

Great shops and choice of products. This is a fairly large mall anchored by 4 big department stores. Saks, Nordstrom, Macy and Bloomingdale's. I popped in to pick something up and realized I needed a lot more time. Went back two days later for a better look and a lot more shopping.

For planning, have a look at a map before you get there and pick your entrance. Seriously unless you like walking ( a lot) starting at the best place will make a world of difference.

Minimal Options for Average Tourist

By Willow P |

This mall has some great flag ship stores for the high end shopper. However, as a family it doesn't offer very much for teens. Very expensive.

Quality Shopping

By pqt4me2 |

South Coast Plaza has it all. From the finest of fine stores to the more down to earth stores including restaurants of all types. There is a store for all budgets. Now that the holidays are amongst us, the atmosphere of this mall is sure help bring on the good cheer.

THE HALL - Best Croissant in Southern California

By valentinanat |

There are many good things that can be had at South Coast Plaza. The most recent one is a food hall called THE HALL, GLOBAL EATERY in suite 1876 at the Boundin Bakery entrance and close to the merry go round. This place has the best plain croissants! It is nice and buttery and puffy with just the right amount of sweet, a croissant that would anonymously and proudly sits on the shelf of any well baked shop in Paris. Before, when Stephane Treand had a shop in SOCO also in Costa Mesa and his croissants was similarly shaped, it was very good, but after he moved his shop to Tustin (California), the croissant shape changed to one big lump like a croissant that you'd find in any donut shop and the buttery taste that it once had was gone. Stephane, there are people who would pay for the excellent tasting croissant that you once had. Raise the price if you need to but keep the quality.

The Hall Owner...the fresh squeezed orange at this food stand is a great idea, but would you be more selective in the oranges that you squeeze. Avoid the ones that are so sour that you wouldn't differentiate from a lemon.

Fabulous!!!!!

By 072107 |

This by far was one of the best Malls I've been to. This mall is huge and they have so many high end shops. They have every store you can think of the Adidas store is everything!!!! I will definitely go back

Beautiful mall

By Bridgetpianos |

Great stores great restaurants but I didn’t like the parking and layout. They have 2 sides and you have to walk a long Third floor bridge to go to the other side.

Family

By GeorgeDubiecki |

South Coast Plaza is definitely the best shopping mall in California.
I found it refreshing that the three shops that we shopped at had really nice employees.
They were knowledgeable and friendly.
They always made us feel that our needs were most important.
“Mars Li” in Georgio Armani was wonderful. Georgio Armani is very lucky to have him working there.
Austin Schroeter in Ralph Lauren was very helpful and courteous. Yes you expect that kind of service in high end shops. But you don’t always get that. He even offered to carry my purchase out to our car.
Sabrina in Escada was also very nice, helpful and knowledgeable.
They each represent South Coast Plaza perfectly. That is why we love to shop there.
They have a few hundred shops to choose from. Great quality shops. Plus lots of really good restaurants.

High-end mall

By Laura Jimenez |

I went to this mall a couple of times and I was really surprised of how big it is. It is high end (you will find a lot of designers stores), but you can find affordable stores. Also, the restaurants there are really good (LOVED The Capital Grilled).

Everything you need

By Yorka V |

All in one spot!! Whether you a re looking for something fancy or just a new outfit, this place has a little bit for every taste

Great mall, but crowded

By Peter M |

South Coast Plaza has always been one of the truly great malls of Southern California. I have lived in the area for 40 years, and SCP has always kept pace and changed with the times. SCP has the best collection of high-end stores around.

It could use some more variety in the food services. Rainforest Cafe is gone, unfortunately. The Claim Jumper has no salad bar.

Good choice of fashion goods

By Srdjan Jovanovic |

Good choice of fashion products, but the most of them are very expensive. A large number of the most famous fashion factories and shops do not give to you a opportunity to find something being a quality but for a little less money.

Visit To The Human Zoo

By Markus M |

South Coast Plaza is great for an evening stroll during the week. But it is a fund place to go and watch people on weekends. There are also great stores to visit and browse at. If you decide to buy there, make sure you bring plenty of cash.
If you come with kids, there are a few great stores to visit, too. However, consider if you want to have. SmLl talk with your kids before unleashing them. There is a Lego store that makes me very fidgety - Star Wars Millennium Falcon (the big one), Porsche 911 GT3RS... plenty of stuff where grown men start pondering.
Great place.

Extreme shopping experience

By Dansker58 |

This indoor mall is huge! Every store you can imagine is here. Lots of high end stores. We enjoyed window shopping and looking at these iconic brands. Lots of customers. Encouraging to see retail stores doing so well.

An expensive exercise

By Sohail D |

We were in LA and had heard a lot about this place being one of the best places to shop. Being an avid shopper, I knew that I had to go to this place. Firstly, there's no definitive place to start from. This place is just filled with shops. It can be a daunting task for some people to get their head around how big this place. But for a master shopper like me, it was no problem. Such lovely stores are here. It's hard not to find something you don't like ; unless of course you are on a cut throat budget. There's even a very convenient currency exchange store on the bottom floor just in case you want to use more of your foreign cash. In terms of eating places, this place isn't like a conventional mall as it doesn't have a proper foodcourt. It just has a lot of brilliant restaurants spread all across the place. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to burn some cash and some calories as there is a lot of walking to do.

Super Mall

By Caballero500 |

A nice well thought beautifully crafted mall, the place is well connected with road and OC Metro. The biggest advantage is the mall is few miles away from the newport beach and the traveller's can enjoy an evening of shopping here. The parking space is ample so you need not worry about parking space. I didnt see any kids play area, which i felt it as a big miss..

Nice mall

By Nidhi C |

Good mall with excellent variety of retail stores. They also have a couple of really good restaurants.

Massive mall and massive prices

By prefdavid |

If you like shopping in high end stores and paying excessive prices for designer goods then this is the place for you.

The mall is extensive and walking round can be a tiring experience and had nothing of interest for us.

Shopping

By Kdrew577 |

South Coast Plaza is a great place for your shopping convenience. They have multiple clothing stores for all ages. You can also find several boutiques throughout the plaza. Once you’re done shopping, you can dine in at one of the restaurants located inside the plaza as well.

Upscale shopping

By Adriana Walker |

Absolutely loved walking around and shopping at South Coast Plaza! All the stores in one place, main stores I was looking for was Burberry, Miu Miu and Zara. South Coast plaza delivered. Great Upscale shopping!

Almost all your dining and shopping needs...

By James Weaver |

There is not a grocery, other than that, everything seems available, with style. We have been coming here for as many years as it has been open. Stores and restaurants come and go, locations change, some searching involved at times. Renovations occur, this is a living thing, growing and aging with luxury in mind. The theatre complex across the street, or a pedestrian bridge, is also a draw. Performances on weekends and throughout the week. Multiple venues to choose from with a wide range of artists coming in for one night, or a several week run. I miss the movie theaters, now a parking lot, but there is another, across Sunflower Blvd. in what is known as South Coast Village. As we both age, we require less, but still manage to spend time and treasure with the Segerstrom’s.

Lots of high end shopping; beautiful at Christmas

By 45DegreesNorth |

You will find everything here, particularly high end brands. I went with a group of people, one of whom bought a very expensive Louis Vuitton bag, and another who was looking for Ugg boots (went to the Ugg store, however found what she wanted in the Ugg selection at the nearby Bloomingdales). The Christmas decorations are beautiful and the center, with Santa's village and the carousel are a child's delight.

Fab mall to visit

By sarahu1981 |

I love this mall and make a special trip here every time I come to Anaheim.
Great range of shops from the high end, to the big department stores to the run of the mill normal stores.
The only disappointing thing was that ART no longer serve this route from Disneyland. Caught an Uber for $16-18 each way so it wasn’t too bad.
And I walked out with aching arms from trying to carry all of my purchases!

Great mall

By jeffreyhunt |

Wonderful place for mall shopping and some great restaurants. Good selection and easy access from around OC

SHOPPING MECCA

By MrsRAZRHWK |

Every high end store you can think of is here. It's like Rodeo Drive but enclosed in shopping center form. The plaza itself is very well-maintained. Plenty of free parking. If price is no object - this is THE place in Southern California to shop. For deals you will have to hit up one of the large anchor department stores - Bloomingdales, Nordstrom or Macy's. Macy's is probably the least upscale place and they always have sales. Louis Vuitton has a boutique and is also inside Bloomie's! All Designer brands are found there - Burberry, Armani, Cartier, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, Baccarat, you name it. Many rich Asians with bags filled to the brim with their status symbol haul. There is a merry go round for the kids in the center. Near the merry go round is both Sees and Sugarfina. The only downside is limited food options. There is a good Italian restaurant, famous DIn Tai Fung for the best garlic green beans ever, and Anqi is excellent. Other than that it's Claim Jumper, Boudins or Corner Bakery for something quick. I see signs for a food hall coming in 2019 though. Easy to spend a day here if you are ready to do some serious wardrobe upgrading.

Mediocre

By HQV |

A few designer stores, small number of shoppers, lack of restaurant diversity and nothing really special about this plaza.

Disappointingly, there is no supermarket or groceries at all. Your best bet is to walk or drive to the nearest Vons. It's unusual because for a plaza that seemingly prides itself on luxury shops, the reality doesn't really meet that promise. They definitely should have included a supermarket for the convenience of tourists staying close by. It makes sense to do soon given the number of surrounding hotels.

By far, the only restaurant that appeared to be popular was Din Tai Fung. There weren't any other dining places that stood out. The navigation information is outdated still using a board to help shoppers find directions around the plaza. The map is awkward and really needs to be substituted with an electronic touch screen like most other contemporary shopping centres.

I'd dare say that most people will come here because they have no other option in the area. If you're looking for an all round plaza, don't bother with this place. It's pretty desolate and in need of an upgrade.

not so busy and has many things

By Housam Elkouteini |

Went there to check the apple store and ended up check the shopping mall. it was not much crowded and parking was easy access

South Coast Plaza Pet Policy

By DianeLTravel227 |

Security at South Coast Plaza can be overly aggressive when arbitrarily choosing to enforce their pet policy (Pets are not allowed at South Coast Plaza, with the exception of leashed service animals when accompanying a person with a disability for whom the animal is performing work or tasks.) On any given time of the day especially weekends, I have seen many pet owners with their dogs (and cats) on both a leash or in pet strollers/backpacks who are seemingly not ADA approved service animals due to their apparent lack of training and undisciplined behavior. Despite this, I recently was rudely accosted from behind by a security guard who was irrationally fixated on verbally assaulting me about my cat that was safely secured in a pet stroller and not being unruly or disruptive. I am not sure if I was targeted solely because I had a cat and not a dog or profiled for other reasons. Perhaps, I was singled out because of his unconscious biases. Notwithstanding his implicit attitude, I advised said security guard I was already on my way out of the mall at the time he stopped me, but he continued to scold me that my cat was not be allowed on the property. From this unpleasant interaction, I understand that this is the policy but as a reminder to SCP Mall Security, no real laws were broken and randomly enforcing this policy can be better communicated and more effectively received when incorporating less hostility. There is no need to abuse the perception of authority behind a security badge in a feeble attempt to act superior. His raised and arrogant tone of voice made me feel unsafe as if I committed an actual crime or that my cat posed an immediate danger or threat to other SCP patrons. For context, photo of my ferocious feline is attached.

Shopping paradise

CEO Says "

By David |

Fantastic selection of shops .
Valet parking . Great restaurants are just around almost every corner.
The mall has its own exit off the freeway to whisk you right in quickly.
One of the better malls on Southern California .

Great mall!

By MaruBV |

Nice and luxurious shopping mall. You can find different budget shops in a nice space a great place to spend and evening.

Great shopping

By Linda S |

Lots of stores and restaurants. Lots to do. Arriving late afternoon. Parking was a challenge, but with patience we found a spot. Easy to spend several hours shopping while the men went for a few beers. Sat getaway, great spot.

China Exhibit

By Tim_the_Enchanter417 |

Stopped by to see the China Exhibit which was well done. I was impressed that there were over a dozen sponsors. The exhibit was set up in the Ying/ Yang configuration that was quite creative. Several monitors with Nixon speeches and Ping Pong Diplomacy, are displayed on the walls. Terracotta Warriors and the famous Nixon-Choi En Lai handshake that changed the world are displayed in statue form.
Impressive array of entry signs and brochures to set up the presentations. Free and impressive.

By ebonycowgirl |

Where do I start? $$$$$ Luxurious, huge (two sides), clean, exceptional service, plenty of parking, restaurants and cafes!!! Not really for kids, although they do have a carousel and a place to buy inflated balloons, I would recommend no little ones. I've been here twice within a month and it's almost a two hour drive, but it's worth it. It's better than Rodeo Dr., because it's all enclosed. It's the perfect place for some retail therapy!!!

Shopping Paradise

By orchid22016 |

This place is a fun place to visit during the holiday season, that if you like people watching and shopping galore. Be sure to visit the Crystal court on the other side of Bear street and the surrounding areas. The Macy's store at South Coast is known to have the largest high end shoes collections. On weekend it's super crowded so go a bit early and park at the Crystal court side, then cross over to the main mall by using the bridge, on the 3rd floor connecting both sides. There are plenty of famous restaurants inside and around South Coast. Consult maps and directory if you are visitors from out of town.

Service oriented and has great options to shop & dine

By ms_me801 |

Great shopping and dining destination. There are several concierge desks, valley parking service and VIP access lounge etc... also the staff is very smiley and friendly. You can enjoy all day here at South Coast Plaza. Sometimes they do cultural and attractive events, fun to join!

Luxury mall!!

By Hany G |

South coast plaza is a big air conditioned mall with a lot of luxurious shops.
You can also have a nice walk with window shopping, There are cafes, and restaurants.
The mall is like 10 mins away from boiling crab Santa Ana.
If you are tight on budget, don't go to south coast plaza for shopping.

Awesome Shopping

By Winelovin |

South Coast Plaza is a shoppers paradise
There are wonderful shops from the very expensive to the not so expensive (everything is expensive in this area)
There are great restaurants, coffee shops, restrooms and wide isles for comfort shopping.
Their Christmas displays are classy and magical for children, lots of lovely lights on the bridge.
The centre is spotless and lots of security and concierge staff to assist shoppers.
Free car parking and plenty of sales in shops.
Highly recommended just bring the credit card

Great place for shopping

By Tarek M |

We found the choice of outlet shops excellent and the location for an outlet mall is great. We found some very good deals.

Shopping mecca

By Su25bag |

Truly one of the best places to shop in the country. High end shopping abounds, every designer imaginable is represented. And if that's not for you the discount shopping is close at hand. Some lovely dining options are available in the area as well. Anything you want you can find in the immediate area. Plenty of parking and a magical experience for Christmas shopping.

Dated and quiet

By Garry B |

I have a disclosure, I am not an avid shopper. Seemed quiet but we were there on a weekday morning. Not a great lot of food options for its size. Can recommend Season 52 for a meal if you need respite. The coffee was strong but refreshing at EBAR.

Expensive tastes

By CnC95366 |

Very upscale mall. Wife was in heaven. Loved the fact that you walk up to a bathroom door, wave your hand and the door opens. No need to touch any nasty doors or faucets. Wish all bathrooms were mandated to have this feature.

Great stores, excellent food

By LoreleiPatrice |

We had a great time! Beautiful stores, fun atmosphere, friendly employees! Very knowledgeable. Purchased a great pair of sneakers, and some wonderful perfume. Along with a great dessert.

South Coast Plaza Mall

By t0kra |

This mall is one of the most beautiful and high end malls I have ever visited. It has dozens of restaurants to choose from and the tons of high ends stores to choose from. The mall is quite large and will take anyone a few hours to go through if you are browsing for items to buy and has many of the anchor stores at ever mall.

Everything in the same place!

By HandersonMarinho |

This mall is huge, to be honest, I have not visited all the stores but I need to say, you can find anything there.
Often they have sales so seems to be an expensive place but it's not.

Classy mall

By Shabnam J |

It was a quiet and luxury mall. Not very busy. There were many restaurants and cafes.decorated nicely.

The Best and One Of The Biggest Places To Shop In So Cal

By TonyFi18 |

If you want to go to one location to find any and everything you desire South Coast Plaza is the place. For example, Jo Malone, one of the world finest Cologne manufactures has only one store west of the Mississippi and it is in South Coast Plaza. Everything from Godiva chocolate to Armani and everything in between. One stop shopping heaven. The Plaza is beautiful, plenty of parking.

One of the last exceptional malls.

By T3C-NINEtravels |

Sadly, everything is going online, like mall shopping. There are so many nice people, nice items, and plenty of things to do there. The crowds aren't enormous, and the mall isn't a jungle. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone needing a good time.

Every shop you could ever want.

By Lkiezl |

Taxied to the Mall on our three night stop over in LA
Looking mainly for a special perfume I like.
Maceys staff could not have been more helpful. They didnt stock what I wanted but rang their other branch which was in a Mall we would pass on out way back to Anaheim.
Sure enough, we stopped off there and collected it.
The Mall itself is amazing, every shop you could want, from high fashion, Prada, Jimmy Choo etc to a couple of large department stores.
Ruby's is a great place to sit awhile and have a delicious lunch.
Uber fare from Anaheim was approx $24 US

A shopping center that has everything

By Rich P |

This very large upscale shopping center must be one of the best in California, it has every kind of shop and restaurant.

BE PATIENT

By CHAUSTER B |

IT is a place with mostly foreigners that cause long, long, long, long delay to get from point a to be. It not a place to enjoy shopping or eating.these slow moving, look lost, careless people ruin normal shopper time and money

Still the best

By markj4golf |

This is what I think is the best mall for people watching and high end shopping (if you can afford it in So. Cal. Great places to eat fancy or casual, and enough shops that you can spend a day there, and go through your entire retirement savings as well as the kids inheritance..... LOL.

If you can't make it to Cesar's mall come here....lol

By otalay |

Well not much to elaborate on but love that they have valet and every high end store you could want...

High End Stores. Great Security Staff

By Albert C |

Very large shopping mall with Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Saks, Macy's and Sears. Lots of high end brand name stores. Layout is bit complicated so get a brochure with map. Fortunately the many security staff are visible and very helpful. One even helped me find where I parked my car since it has several parking structures. So, note down where you parked your car before entering the shopping area.

Big Mall for All Ages and Visitors

By Miranda C |

I've been here many times when I was younger. I would often go on the Merry-Go-Round, and that was my favorite part of the mall. There are over 250 stores to explore and shop from. There are visitors from all over the world, and they come here after going to Disneyland. The mall offers all spending level from Sears to Saks Fifth Avenue. With the ongoing rise of online shopping, I hope that this mall will not be affected.

Huge and diversified mall

By ekatsurayama |

This is a huge and diversified mall. Most of the luxury and popular brands are there so you need some time to make a complete visit. There are also a number of good restaurants there. Parking is not a problem.

OK mall but was expecting more

By Kinalat |

I am spoiled by living in Hong Kong, the land of upscale shopping malls. Compared to Hong Kong malls, this one was OK but not as great and wonderful as some reviews may have you believe. I found the signage in the mall poor, making it difficult to locate certain stores. The selection of stores is OK but I found the choice within the stores so-so (maybe because this is the end of the summer season).

Always too busy

By Antonio |

I usually come here during semi-annual sale. Stuffs here are pricey. The Starbucks here doesn't have enough chairs.

It's a mall

By Matt S |

Yes, higher end, and unlike most malls, a Porsche parked in the hallway....but, when all is said and done, it's a mall! Many stores not much different than anywhere else. Maybe it's not my thing, but I don't understand why this is a hot spot tourist attraction?

It is clean and bright, of course, so it's pleasant being in it.

Great shopping destination

By sarahu1981 |

I love this shopping mall. Even before I arrived I had received excellent service from Cathleen (much appreciated).
I took the #19 bus from disneyland. Unfortunately I hadn’t checked the opening hours and discovered I was there 1.5hrs early, but luckily the Ruby Diner was open in the Crate & Barrel wing (over the bridge from Macy’s) so I had breakfast there first.

This mall is huge, clean and well maintained. It has an amazing selection of shops including your high end stores like Tiffany’s and Louis Vuitton, as well as your high street stores such as H&M, Gap, Zara, Banana Republic etc. It also has department stores such as Macy’s, Nordstrom, Sears and Bloomingdales.
Metro Pointe is just across the road (out from Macy’s) too which is where you can find Best Buy, DSW, Nordstrom Rack etc.
Uber back to Anaheim was only $19.
I will return here again!

Best shopping experience ever!

By epjgalante |

If you feel like you need to hang out at a nice sophisticated place South Coast plaza is the place to be!
Very clean, nice shops, tons of good stuff for the whole family!

Amazing shopping

Super shopping -- whatever you want!

By Stuart G |

i have been to some mighty fine shopping centers in my travels all over the world. I had the occasion today to stroll through parts of South Coast Plaza -- the mecca of shopping in Southern California -- and it is amazing. If you want high end stores, you'll have your choice of Saks, Bloomingdale's, Macy's.....
Our favorite was the "satellite" mall that had all the home shopping stores, especially Crate & Barrel. If you want to shop for anything that has to do with the home (kitchen, yard, bathroom, living room, etc.) -- go to the smaller one.

Great shopping mall

By Igor V |

One of our most favorite shopping mall in SoCa. All the nice shops are available in a nice, cool, clean and safe environment.

"Too big"

By Sue H |

Wow, what a shopping extravaganza!! It has every store you can think of but you need a day and lots of energy & money to enjoy the experience, can be a bit overwhelming.
It has a good choice of restaurants although some are quite a distance from the stores. We chose to go to an Indian restaurant which was a long walk after viewing the stores beforehand, we had a 75 year old with us, just too far.

Awesome Mall

By romazzino |

Find everything from Cartier and Gucci down to Gap and Old Navy and everything in between. Great restaurants too and upscale home stores such as West Elm, Pottery Barn and Crate&Barrel in an annex building.

BEAUTIFUL SHOPPING MALL EXTRAVAGANT

By OMAR QAZI |

1. South coast plaza is a very high class shopping mall in costa mesa la. Beautiful shops with a very vibrant and pleasant environment.

2. Recommended for families and couples or any travelers in the aera eventhough its a very expensive and not for the ordinary people. As shops here are very high scale and for the ultra rich but still people can enjoy a stroll and dinning places are interesting for people on a budget.

3. South coast plaza is a beautiful place and extraordinary destination.

Large high-end mall, lots to see

By pudman43 |

Enjoyed our visit (3 adults, 2 older teens), but be aware that most of the mall is quite high-end shops. If that is your thing, you will love this shopping centre. Anchored by Macys, Nordstrom, etc it has most of the typical mall stores (H&M, Gap, Uniqlo, etc) but also shops like John Lobb, Louis Vitton, Valentino, many others. More food options/food court would be nice...

THE O.C. - HIGH-END STORES

By SoCalOregonian |

First time we had been here. Plenty of high-end stores Chanel, Dior, D & G, Gucci, Harry Winston, Tiffany, and Versace, along with a few average priced stores, Coach, Macy's, Victoria's Secret, XXI Forever. There are also a few restaurants located within the mall complex. Plenty of free parking, or you can utilize a valet. Security frequently patrols the parking lots.

Why go to Paris shopping when South Coast Plaza has it all.

By Wally K |

Our family has visited and shopped and dined at South Coast Plaza since the sixties.
It is one of the most delightful complete shopping experiences a person can have. South Coast Plaza is one of the most famous shopping malls in the world, with people coming from Europe, the Orient and middle East.
Every Christmas the whole plaza has been decorated with the most beautiful decorations that puts everyone into the Christmas Spirit. The parking ids free and there are more stores to select from and restaurants to feed the family and great things for kids to enjoy.

Best Mall

By ar0undth3world |

This mall is one of our favorites because of the caroseul, kids train ride at Christmas at Crystal court, fun pop ups (saw Kim Kardashian at the grand opening of her KKW beauty popular). At Christmas mall is phenomenal with beautiful decorations, Santa’s village great for babies/toddlers and children. Plus there are so many great stores to shop at! Plus if you are a new mom or dad there’s a family restroom that has breastfeeding rooms, diaper changing station, kids toilets and water for baby formula.

Access Lounge Luxury

By grlgrdgate |

I spent the afternoon shopping at South Coast yesterday and had the opportunity to relax in the Access Lounge with a pass I was given. Service was outstanding. They offered complimentary drinks and snacks, and had several different areas to sit and relax. It was a perfect place to enjoy a midday snack and some fruit infused water.

Favourite Mall in the world

By Melanie S |

I have visited many malls and shopping destinations all over the world, but few places are better for shopping than South Coast Plaza.

A huge range of specialty stores and department stores, there is everything you need (and more) here.

Plenty of dining options, lots of parking and a gorgeous mall.

Still one of the top shopping destinations in SoCal

By PG13LA |

Have been regularly visiting this place for the past 10+ years. In spite of so many new retail developments and fancy shopping strips / malls, this still holds as one of the premier shopping destination in SoCal. Every luxury / ultra high end brand is represented. The entire mall is always kept squeaky clean... Even on the busiest of the shopping days, it does not feel cluttered. Parking is plenty and it is a great place for people watching, grabbing a quick bite or just do some window shopping.

A good shopping experience

By Mrtah |

This is probably the best shopping mall in Southern California with so many shops. Most of the shops are upscale and tend to be in the expensive side. Lots of eating places as well. Definitely worth a visit if you are in that part of the world.

Maggiano's Wine Prices

By Rocco T |

Maggiano's Reataurant
Good but expensive. Watch out for "House" Chardonnay. It is $22 per 9 oz glass! OMG. That's California for you!

Very good shopping experience

By frankjh48 |

Very enjoyable afternoon and evening- first shopping then eating!
Very good range of shops and restaurants. Very accessible location.

Beautiful

By Lynn B |

This is a fabulous place to shop, with great amenities as well. Everyone should experience it at least one time...though that will never be enough

NOT FOR MIDDLE INCOME FAMILIES

By jim30122 |

This is a beautiful mall and full of great stores, but if you are middle income this is not the mall for you. About 99% of the 250 stores at this mall are very high end that cater to the rich. If you are middle class and shop at Macy's you're in luck there are 3 Macy's stores in this mall (one is a Macy's furniture store). Other than Macy's, Sears is the only other store that caters to middle income and under families. Most people I had the chance to speak with said they come here to "window shop" since they can't afford the high prices at stores such as Tiffanys and Bloomingdales. As I said this is a fantastic mall, if you've got the money.

What can't you find at South Coast Plaza?!

By Marie G |

Wow, I've been to South Coast Plaza so many times over the years that I've lost count. It's a shopping wonderland. What else can you say?!? If you really want to explore it end to end, plan on more than one day, and pace yourself. There are lots of good eating places to take a break, from casual to upscale fancy. One of my favorites is the Champagne Bakery and Bistro in Chrystal Court, which is part of South Coast Plaza too. (See my separate review of Champagne for more info.) Although some may feel South Coast Plaza is a bit pricey, on the whole, I think better buys can be found here than in the outlet malls. The range and quality of merchandise is top notch, and you CAN definitely tell the difference. Bus loads of tourists come to South Coast Plaza from other countries because it's exceptional. What more need be said, aside from advising you to avoid the holiday season peak? Well, unless crowds are your thing!

The South Coast Plaza - One of a Kind Experience!

By P51rayf |

We were visiting Irvine this week and made our usual visit to The South Coast Plaza - One of a Kind Experience! This is an unique experience, more special shops than you will find at any other location in the west. From Gucci to Prada to Jimmy Choo, they are all here!

Best mall in the area

By Mohammed Alkhaja |

We are frequent visitors to this mall whenever in California. Has the best variety of shops, four department stores (Bloomingdales, Sachs Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Macy's), very clean and has many nice restaurants. It even has a carousel for kids (which they absolutely love).

Opening times are good as well, as it does remain open until 9pm during the week.

For all of the failing malls out there, this one is going strong

By Brandon K |

We came here a couple of years ago for the Din Tai Fung and had about an hour to wander the mall while waiting to get seated. This time, we got to spend time in the mall and really check it out. This is a high end mall full of luxury shops, but it is also worth seeing just for its pure size. It is a mall on both sides of the street (which each half would be its own big mall somewhere else) with a great walking bridge in between. Kids had plenty to focus on between Lego and the teenage style stores. This is a great mall, and I never thought I would say that again.

Lots of changes

By Pat P |

This has always been a great mall, but little by little, it has moved to lots more upscale, designer stores that are way of of reach for lots of folks. I like lots of the restaurants and Macy's, but the old days of being able to shop in lots of stores, for me, are over.

Big Macy's

By AnnieMac |

Huge mall that's a little too big & pricey for me. Good Macy's though with a separate men's store. Crate & Barrel across the road is a real bonus.

Just huge

By joe-chicago-23 |

Get in plenty of your daily steps quota by shopping here. Many luxury brands and upscale shops in addition to the department store anchors. And those stores are much larger than in other cities. Plenty of selection but only if one can afford shopping here. Plenty of good restaurants too.

Fantastic upscale shopping mall

By SMQ |

Mall is clean, big and lots of high end stores - Hermes, LV, Chanel, Tiffany, etc. If you are into high end stuff, this is the one stop shopping place for you. Restaurants are nice too, from quick bite to fine dining..……

5th Ave comes to Costa Mesa

By famtrav_ca |

Upscale mall with Flagship stores and restaurants that can only be compared to 5th Avenue in Manhattan.

Fantastic Mall -- Beautiful Holiday Decor

By Amelia P |

If have ever wanted to shop in luxury, the South Coast Plaza is the place!

I recently did some shopping for my daughter, actually some exchanging, and I was just amazed at all the beautiful holiday decor and attention to details they paid at The South Coast Plaza. It is simply amazing...

Most of the stores are having good sales this time of year and while the parking can be a bit of a challenge, I was able to find decent parking.

Every type of high-end store you can imagine. Shop til you drop!

Very bad management

By lamarfashion |

I purchased an Apple watch, and the manager in charge for this department, as well as the sales associate who is an old lady with white hair, both told me I have one month to return it if I am not happy with it. I came back in less than twenty days to return it, they refused to return it claiming because I opened the box. First of all, when I first came to the store, they didn't have any sample for me to try. second, it doesn't make any sense to me, how I can tell if I would like it or not without even trying it on my wrist, of course, I had to open the box to figure out since they didn't have any sample for me to try. I left the store so upset. The same day I called Macy's customer service who assured me that I can return Apple watch within one month of purchase even the box is open. I went to another Macy's store @ the Main place, the sales lady who helped me there was awesome and so nice to me, she didn't even question me why I want to return it. She just easily returned it since I 've been still returning within the required date.
I experienced many times difficulties dealing with Macy's South coast plaza. I can tell easily the management of this store is so bad. I would not shop at this store again. Very very disappointed. Worst store ever to shop.

Pros and cons

By Arianna T |

South Coast Plaza shopping mall

3333 Bristol Street,
Costa Mesa, CA 92626

We had to visit this location on vacation because South Coast Plaza shopping mall is the largest shopping center on the West Coast of the United States. With about 275 retailers.

There were so many upscale shops to visit. This mall is known for having The most expansive collection of design fashion retail in the United States in one location.

It is super close to Interstate 405.

Pro:
High value shopping
Top rated anchor stores
Prime. Boutiques.
Loads of parking
Designated rideshare, pick up and drop off location
Beautiful display
Starburst (to keep you going)
Walking path connector to home stores
Wide variety of home stores across the walking bridge
Restaurants
Clean restrooms and facilities
Really cool glass elevator
Wheelchair accessible
Interactive display for directions
Helpful customer service help desk
EV: ChargePoint, Tesla, VOLTA

Needs work:

Physical signage hanging in the can be confusing
Things look very similar easy to get lost

Con:
Your feet are going to hurt

10/10 would recommend at least once.

Pro tip:
save up for this one because you will find everything you can think of and even something's you can't imagine and then immediately can't live without.

It is a very nice mall. Just be prepared to pay for it.

By Bryan M |

This is a very nice mall and a great experience, but just make sure you bring your money. Most of the stores range from high end to very high end. It has many restaurants through out the mall. Not the food court type. I do go there fairly often because my kids like, but we do not buy much. We go the main place or the Westminster mall for that... LOL

Visited a couple of times

By VINICIO R |

There are a lot of stores, however there are no options for eating, maybe a cafeteria and an Italian restaurant (I tried a carbons pasta, but it was just regular). The second time, I had to go somewhere else to find food.

Goods and services

By RMJ11 |

While Fashion Island in Newport has more cache, south coast plaza has most anything you would want in food, beverages and consumer goods

Easy access and much parking

Holiday decorations include a carousel

Take an amble & enjoy the view, window shop and stock up. Your choice

Beautiful Mall with all the upmarket brands

By Adam L |

You can easily spend a couple of hours cruising this giant indoor mall. Beautifully decorated with all the latest high end fashion stores. Beware though this is not a mall for the bargain hunters. Definitely worth a look as it is the OC's "Rodeo Dr".

Luxury under one roof.

By boyadjianlisa |

Easy to navigate.Love the luxury brands in one place.Only a few malls left like this in California, most are with low brand shops.

Fancy

By Gabriel F |

Nice mall. Nice stores. Easily accessible. Good restaurant options. Well laid out. Good place to spend some time in.

Great Place to Visit

By Expert1952 |

I like to visit this great mall with so many stores and opportunities to buy from most elegant global designers elements, via great American stuff. Children stores, fashion, goods, cloth, bargains etc with many on site cafes and beverages- great location and convenient parking

All In One for High End Shopping and Dining

By Linda C |

For those of you fashion moguls out there, you know longer have to fly to New York, Rome, Milan or London, or even take the exceedingly congested long drive to Rodeo to purchase the clothing, jewelry, shoes or accessories from the world's top designers as just about all the brands you desire are located in the nearly 3 million square feet complex right here in the OC. We locals without the ginormous bank accounts still come here on special occasions to dine at The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Anqui, Din Tai Fung, Maggiano's and the often overlooked Quattro Cafe (my personal favorite). All of them require reservations. Week days at lunch are the least busy times except in the summer when hordes of wealthy tourists are bused in to shop here.

High End Shopping Mall

By Hongkongboy55 |

The South Coast Plaza is a high end shopping mall in the area with many famous brands such as Bloomingdale, Louis Vitton, Alexander McQueen and Givency. Din Tai Fung is also located within the mall.

One of the Finest Shopping Experiences In The World

By Vincent R |

South Coast Plaza is one of the finest shopping malls in the world. Great places to eat and drink. Unfortunately, not for the faint of pocketbook.

Haves & have nots

By Ms4All |

Great mall, huge with lots of variety & stores at varied price points. I was disappointed though that they seem to have stopped any special programs for visitors except for maybe the very wealthiest. They no longer appear to be offering a coupon book with visitor discounts even though that info & signup is still on their website. The booklet I was given at our nearby hotel officially expired at the end of 2022. And access to the Access Lounge only seems to be for very high rollers, no access for Amex platinum members or hotel guests. I asked a mall concierge and she just said some stores have passes to give out at their discretion. I’m sure that means only for people dropping thousands of dollars.

Great Shopping all under one roof.

By Stacy K |

This is a beautiful shopping mall, with some great food outlets and all levels of shopping. There is even a crosswalk to the other side of the road where you can easily access the discount stores for Nordstroms and Saks.

Moloch

By David C. |

If you want to destroy your soul and sacrifice yourself in the altars of Moloch, don't miss this hideous mall. The Japanese soba is good, though.

Best Mall Ever ... for visitors

By FineDinerPatty |

This is a great mall for travelers. It's the most successful mall in the state, and virtually every fancy New York City designer has a store there. I especially love window shopping for shoes, and both Jimmy Choo and Loubetin are there. I live in Costa Mesa, and once bought an expensive designer blouse here at a discount, which is rare in the plaza. All price ranges for dining are offered here. It's mostly indoor, great for a rainy day or a hot one. There are not many options here for the budget minded traveler looking to buy some clothes on vacation ... try the consignment stores instead!

Everything you need under one roof

By kim v |

Always great to visit South Coast Plaza. Everything you could ask for. Always clean and tidy with perfectly organised shop windows. Fantastic choice of both restaurants shops and coffee choice

Difficult to get around

By Denise L |

Hard to find places in here the brochures do not give you floor plans
The directional maps assume you know where the big shops are and don't give map references for them

The restroom signs are very confusing and when you get there 1 restroom and long lines for ladies

Come on as well as building more shops you need more signage, Bath rooms and better coffee shops - Antonellas espresso is terrible - coffee out of a vacuum flask that's false and misleading to everyone!!

Great Xmas decorations-higher end mall

By Barb C |

This is just another one of those malls around the world that attracts people from all parts of the globe. Family that we were visiting needed run in quickly to look for a pair of work shoes. We ended up marveling at the Christmas decorations.

One of the best malls in the country

By Mike P |

What's great about the massive mall is there's something for everyone, from middle-market chain stores like Gap and Macy's to ultra high-end like Hermes and Loro Piana. Has one of only 4 John Lobb shoe stores in the US. Name the super high-end brand and odds are they're here. Comparable in that respect to some of the luxury malls around the world.

Shop Toll you Drop

South Coast Plaza is a huge indoor mall. All the major stores are present. Macys, Nordstrom, Sears and dozens of specialty and name brand stores are within. Many chain restaurants and other 5 star restaurants can be found. This mall is at the center of Costa Mesa near the 405 and 5 freeway...and Orange County airport...just in case you have to kill a few hours waiting for your next plane to leave....you can spend several hours at this mall and still Uber back in time for the next leg of your trip. Have fun!

Nice stores and you can find good deals

By gloriaa |

The stores are beautiful, access to charge the electric cars at not charge. You can find good deals in some stores and of course the sephora store has all kind of cosmetics. The store is huge!!!

The negative is that h&m is not longer there because was not considered to be " the high profile as the rest of the stores" BIG MISTAKE, not only poor or medium class people buys on that store. H&M has special styles..and people likes special styles ...not just expensive cloth.
Also,
The women bathrooms are always full. The lines are long all the time. They are small.
Management need to improve that situation.

HIGH END MALL

By 74lilak |

WOW I have NEVER felt so out of place in a mall. It is so beautiful, the stores are more like "boutiques" with names like Tiffany's, Gucci, Van Gogh, Canali, Oscar de la Renta, Salvatore Ferragasso, Louis Vutton, Gianvito Rossi just to name a few. They have Disney Store and more ... I was surprised at all the security. They have a full sized carousel and many fine dining areas.

Okay

By Alyssa V |

An extremely overpriced mall filled with people acting like spending $900 on a pair of shoes doesn't hurt. I just don't see the allure. When I go to the mall, I want to be able to buy something. At this one, I'd have to mortgage the house first 👎🏻

Very large mall with variety of stores.

By Gonnahavefun4eva |

There were 3 Macy's Home, womens and mens. A lot of high end designer stores, also stores like H & M, sephora, Pink, too many to name. There is plenty of parking. Need to use walkway to cross over into different parts of mall. We were only here for a couple hours, but can easily take a day or 2 to see all.

Great Place for Everything !

By FTichy |

It is a higher end mall with expensive brand name stores (Channel, LV, Burberry, etc), but also middle-market chain stores.
It has a great selection of restaurants and valet parking.
You can spend a lot of money shopping or just have a cup of coffee if you just want to walk around a bit.
The Christmas decorations are really nice.
The mall is big but not massive that you feel overwhelmed.

Classic OC Luxury Mall

By MandC0218 |

This is a destination shopping mall that I have always enjoyed. It has been there for so many years. This mall is very significant to us because we bought our wedding rings and engagement rings here at the Tiffany's shop years ago. Many places for high end purses and jewelry and clothes. It's an upscale mall for either browsing or buying all the best stuff. There are also great restaurants and bakeries to enjoy as well. Highly recommended.

shop all day and still want more

By nofatboys |

this is a premier shopping destination the mall is kept spotless and the has all of the designers and stores that a girl wants

Tiffany

A very busy jewelry shop, but I was disappointed with one of the customer rep, giving directions to the customer is very important and she didn't give a good directing. If you want to help a customer you have to go with the customer.

Lots of higher end high street shops

By 79sgrif |

We had a wet day on our holiday so spent a few hours and a lot of dollars here. Good selection of shops. Clean and plentiful facilities. Carousel for kids only $1 a go.

Shopping here is a pleasure

By Lena K |

After having lunch at the Yellow Vase, we stopped to listen to the wonderful waterfalls. My granddaughter even made a wish there. Seeing the carousel, she wanted to go for a ride. We shopped at the nearby Abercrombie & Fitch for Kids store, where she found a couple of jackets.
There are many high-end shops for clothing, shoes, jewelry, but Macy’s is also there.

Loved visiting the mall with my Mother

By ozmel88 |

This mall is a favourite of ours. It's not big but it is beautiful. We ate at several of the restaurants as well. Has the main department stores and lots of nice specialty stores.

High End Shopping

By JeanneA |

We were very impressed with how clean the mall was. We entered the shopping mall prior to shops opening and saw cleaning staff scrubbing tile with a toothbrush. The outdoor areas are beautiful with flowers.

Very nice high end shopping

By havlyn |

Really nice high end shopping mall, it is centrally located in Anaheim. There is free parking as well as valet. It has all of the common mall stores like Apple and H&M etc

Orange County Premier shopping place

By Ken T |

I lived near this mall for the last 8 years. A very nice upscale mall with a lot of high end brands. There is also a Sanrio store inside. Don't worry about being hungry while shopping since there are a lot of restaurants here. From Chinese to Italian to French and some others. They have a carousel inside for the kids and the dads to wait.

A lot to see and do.

By zkrscasa |

This is a massive center with high-end stores and restaurants. You can get lost simply walking around and enjoying the Southern California weather. If you’re a shopper this is your spot. If you are a foodie you can also find something that hits all of your flavor profiles. We also like people watching and resting to watch the world go by. Go online to find a directory of stores and shops, I think there is over 200.

Standard

By Minnie M |

It's a standard mall has most of the shops you would find in most American malls but it's quite spread out bring your walking shoes!

Well presented shopping oasis.

By robmaizels |

This shopping center offer features a great variety of specialty boutiques with style and ambiance, the emphasis is on peaceful surroundings that are secure and comfortable. Suggest you bring your wallet and camera.
No dissapointments here.

Will not disappoint

I have been coming to this mall since I was 16 and it never ceases to WOW! It truly is an experience! There are so many amazing stores, makes window shopping fun again. The resteraunts are amazing! For kids there is a wonderful Merry-Go-Round. The shops are always being upgraded and relocated to improve the experience! I hate to give away my age, but I've been coming here for almost 40 years, and I never tire of it!

favorite mall of all time

By Loreal |

call me bias since I grew up shopping here, but it is seriously the best mall. every store you can think of. great location and easy access to freeways. great restaurants
and shopping experience. wish they had more fast food options for on the go.

Lots of shops I've never heard of

By GeoWayland_NYUSA |

A busy shopping area with lots of parking, several good restaurants, a carousel, escalators to a whole second floor of shopping. This is also a great place for mall-walkers. It is very clean, well lit, and we heard classical music as we walked through.

Shop Alcoholic's Paradise

By Sandra R |

Yes, you will find soooo many high end designer boutiques that your head will spin. Make sure you haven't max-d out your credit cards or have beaucoup bucks with you as it may be hard to resist the urge to splurge! There is the usual array of department stores, restaurant choices and specialized stores. Make sure you have comfortable shoes as you will be doing some heavy walking.

Great Shopping Center

By Dee |

It's been awhile since we went there but we always enjoy to shop at South Coast Plaza where we can also enjoy lunch and having coffee with friends

Everything you could possibly need

By ItchyFeet |

We stayed at the Westin across the street and walked across the street and the first stores we saw were all extremely high and stores and thought that wow this place has changed a lot since the last time we were here. We drove to the other side of the mall where the North Face store is at and it has much more reasonable stories like Macy’s and Nordstrom‘s.
There are many restaurants and over the course of a couple days we ate at several really good places, including Italian and Rudy’s burger place.
Although there were many places were blank and being remodeled, it’s good to know that an old-fashioned mall with a huge variety of goods and services will hopefully always be around despite most things going online .

So. Coast Plaza

By Troy N |

It's Designer Store Heaven here in South Coast Plaza. It's top notch from the stores to the personnel! I always have a great time shopping here.

One of the best malls!

By Lumerian |

The malls are dying out and South Coast Plaza is a classic that is still alive. All of the top stores are represented. Two sides connected by a bridge. My wife and I love to eat at Ruby's on the Crystal Court side of the mall. See's Candies is a Southern California legend and is a must try for any traveler. Even if you don't buy anything, the food options are amazing.

High end

By ladyzire |

Whenever I am in the area I must go to South Coast Plaza and make my rounds at all the high end stores. Great restaurants, coffee shops, and people watching.

TO SEE WHAT IT WAS LIKE

By rksa_c |

We went to the plaza in our spare time just to see what it was like. Most of the stores in the plaza were either not of any interest to us or beyond or tastes or, in some cases, beyond our means! It looked like a plaza for the rich. We felt like we were out-of-place there. Incredibly nice, very clean, very busy, but not our style. We are from relatively rural Oregon and the plaza struck us a big city, bright lights and lots of money.

One helluva mall

By Brandon K |

This mall is quite an experience. I came here for Din Tai Fung and we got to wander the mall for over an hour. Kids loved the Lego store, nice candy store (can't remember the name), and the crazy way the mall has a bridge over the outside street. The place was busy, which was nice to see after many of the malls where I am from are half empty or gone. On the other hand, the stores were so high end that I did not belong in many of them. I think this is one of the best malls I have ever been in.

Glossy chocolate box of world's best designers and restaurateurs

By ThePackedBag |

South Coast Plaza, the premier luxury shopping destination in the US, celebrated its 50th birthday the week I was there.
Henry T. Segerstrom, along with his cousin Hal T. Segerstrom, Jr, opened South Coast Plaza in one of the family's lima bean fields on March 15th, 1967.
It now boasts 2.8 million square feet (260,128m2) of retail space and 22 million visitors per year.
Glossy is the best word to describe this chocolate box of the world's best designers and restaurateurs.
You could easily spend several days here, shopping, eating and browsing.

Everything a girl could want!

By Lilia W |

Everything you could want in a luxury setting: great stores, great restaurants, boutiques and all the big designer shops. Spend the entire day and not see it all!

Nice mall, all the designer shops, and more

By Ashok P |

We visited this mall, which has good parking, nice ambience, and a great location. Many great designer branches are to be found, and make for great window shopping. The restaurants are good too, especially the dimsum place, Din Tai Fung. For those who cannot afford the big names and prices, there are the usual mall favourites including Sears, Uniqlo, and Macys, and a host of other shops and stores. The mall is well maintained with clean toilets and good security presence all over.Good way to spend an afternoon or evening.

A great place to visit -allow plenty of time

By Dr Tony M |

A massive shopping area, very easy and comftable to shop. I have been here over a number of years and still love it. Literally something for everyone. Its so big you need to pace yourself so make sure you allow pleanty of time. There are three malls in the area, this is the best.

Upscale mall in Orange County

By John S |

I prefer Fashion Island since it is outdoors, but the shops here are better. Plus they have a Din Tai Fung, which is my favorite dumpling restaurant.

Top notch

By davidforrest2018 |

Great variety of high end stores including Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Patek Phillipe, Vacheron Constantin, as well as the typical mall stores. Has a great variety of restaurants and a good food court.

A great place to shop

By Lizeclairs |

All brand names store are there! There's one wing that carries all big brand names ! No need to go to Beverly Hills, the mall is clean , beautiful stores very convenient to locals and tourist , great restaurant inside and outside the mall. Very convenient to shop and great staff ! Kids are welcome , the Mall has all different stores that will cater to kids , teenagers , adults and senior citizen as well.
Big well known Department stores , boutiques and specialty stores are house under one roof and outlet stores around the vicinity at the likes of Nordstrom Rack, Saks off 5 th , Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods!

What a waste of time

By Lukatag |

If I wanted high end shops I could've stayed home. Over priced, no where to eat without going to a restaurant- don't bother. Wish I hadn't wasted my day.

Searching for a particular store

By Moni16 |

I'm in the O. C. for a seminar. I chose to visit this shopping center in search for a NY&Co store. Nope. No luck.
I ate at their Dim Sum restaurant located adjacent to Sears. It was delicious. I was by myself, so I ordered the won ton soup & jasmine tea. I walked near their Easter theme decoration area. I was impressed. If I had a kid, I would take my child to this shopping center to take a picture with the Easter Bunny. Ample parking.

My favorite mall ever!

By ArleneB435 |

South Coast Plaza has something for everyone. It's beautifully designed with many restaurants, coffee shops, and mostly high-end shops. It's fun to just window-shop. It's where I meet my friends for lunch and/or shopping. I've been visiting it since it was built. It just keeps getting better!

Disappointing

By Ugo T |

I am really disappointed about this, Tiffany. The customer service was not up to par. I wanted to buy a specific object, and I had a video of the website that assured me that the item was in stock. At first, the lady told me they did not have that item. Then, after I showed them the video, they told me that it was there. I also asked to buy "blue refills." After 10 minutes of waiting, the representative came back with black refills and told me that those were the refills I requested. I pointed out that I requested a different color. At home, I discovered that I was given objects that were slightly different (and cheaper) than the ones I had requested with the video. I have been a customer in two other locations, in different states (one in the Midwest and one on the East Coast), and this Tiffany has been the worst among the three different stores. Unfortunately, it was also the one I spent the most at. A client has the right to choose; I would have also liked to choose which customer representative to be served by. Other companies give the possibility to book appointments to find the customer representative appropriate for the customer.

Spaciously laid out shoppers paradise

Very large parking area & shops well spread out & neatly arranged. A wide variety of goods available across.

Truly a Destination

By William C |

Better plan on a couple days here, minimum. This is a huge and very upscale shopping venue. We always enjoy spending time here and marvel at how many stores are in here. It's a beautiful and well kept shopping mall.

It has it all

By Joyce N |

This is a very nice shopping center in central Orange County,
California. It is upscale with many fine shops and dining. Sears is the original anchor store but you will also find Channel, Fendi, Gucci, and Tiffany's.
It is a great place to people watch; you will see people from around the world shopping.

South Coast

By dwertman1 |

South Coast Plaza is a very large selection of great shopping and restaurants. The stores range from Sears to the most high end designers shopping and the same for restaurants. The place is immaculate at all times. In the summer heat it’s even a great place to just walk because of the constant temperatures in side enjoy...

So fun to visit this mall during the holidays. They have a beautiful Christmas tree and we were fortunate to hear the orange county musicians playing Christmas Carol's.

Mall

By bcheong |

A medium sized mall with both luxury and street brands. Also lots of restaurants and cafes. The din tai fung restaurant draws in the most crowds

Great shopping mall

By easillisae |

South Coast Plaza is a great place to go for shopping. From the finest brands to the more down to earth stores, with restaurants of all types. I went there during Christmas time and the decorations were magical. They also have a Santa's village for kids. Free car parking, lots of security and the place is really well organized.

this is a high anMall

By Ralph E |

it has very expensive stores if you like that kind of thing
I go here to go to the great restaurants French (Marche Moderne), Chinese (Din Tai Fung), and Japanese (Hammamori), off Bear Street
and Indian (Royal Khyber), if you like steak you should go to Mastro's it's not inside of the shopping center, it's very close: 633 Anton Boulevard-- it's probably the best steak you'll ever have.

This is very good high-end shopping mall with almost all big name stores. The price here is too expensive.

I love this mall!

By Arsenio S |

I totally love this mall. All the high-end luxury brands as well as the usual staples all in one roof!
Macys, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and SAKS are anxhors here.
Would give 5 stars but no direct connection via metro from Los Angeles (had to take the train).

Spectacular mall

Posh

By Rolf L |

The South Coast Plaza located at Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, is a posh and classy center including VIP Passport for tourists, valet parking and foreign language assistance. The place specializing in fashion shops, but has in addition a special emphasis on jewelry and timepieces. Of course a lot of restaurants and specialty foods…. They have two electronics stores, Apple (of course!) but also a decent Microsoft one, that I found useful. I got the feeling of a larger shopping mall similar to the major ones in Dubai, probably because of the enormous amount of designer labels and international brands. The place is not inexpensive generally, and the coupons available in the so called VIP Passport are mainly ‘gift with purchase of $1000 or more’ ie not particularly useful for everyday shopping. I would not personally travel long distances on crowded freeways to get there, but I’m an European just visiting – and our attitude toward malls of this nature may be different. But they have something for all! If you are in the neighborhood, worth a visit!
By the way, the other of the largest shopping malls in the Los Angeles area is Fashion Island, Newport Beach .
The Fashion Island is exactly as indicated; hundreds of chops for apparels; children, men, women’s, department stores like Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. In addition, you get hungry as well and you’ll find a food court and more fine dining venues spread out in the vast area of smaller building in a colonial style. In total 38 food-places as far as I could notice.
If you are in to reading, I recommend Barnes & Noble Booksellers. They have a great selection of books and some very good bargains. Well worth a visit.
Please remember to get booklets with coupons offering discounts and special deals.

Upmarket shopping

By Imkennedy |

After two days at outlet malls, we decided to try the South Coast Plaza. Bit of a mistake. We had seen the outlet prices and now looking at normal prices seemed so expensive. On top of that this shopping Centre had All the top end shops, giving it an air of unaffordability. We walked around but didn't buy anything.
It is one of the top grossing shopping centers in the USA, but not on my budget, outlets are more my level.

Great shopping centre

By Lady B |

Went here especially to eat at Ruby's diner, that have the best milkshakes. The shopping centre is vast with a huge choice of shopping from high end stores to chains. Usually lots of events held with the centre. Staff see's candies were the best!

Upscale shopping experience

By Kuumaka1 |

The shopping experience was at its finest even though I'm used to the more moderate shopping malls. I'm always looking for some sort of selection of eateries however this mall did not provide that. There were several restaurants adjacent to the mall but nothing for a quick bite or snack.

Full range

By MaryamA1212 |

I really loved this shopping mall. It has both high brand shops and normal shops. Also, a variety of restaurants and cafes. It's good for families!

Great selection of shops

By Rakesh R |

We had a brief visit to this mall during our recent trip to Orange County. Our family enjoyed this upscale mall with many good restaurants. We enjoyed lunch in zCafe at the other side of the mall which is connected by the beautiful walk bridge.

Fabulous Fun

By Kathleen L |

This is by far the best shopping center in Orange County. The high end stores are a shoppers dream but there is also a variety of stores such as the Gap which are affordable and fun. Here you will also find Nordstrom, Macys, and Saks so choose your budget and go.!

High End Mall

By Norma R |

Love coming here to shop and also window shop. The closed mall is air conditioned & beautiful with gleaming floors. There are several restaurants to choose from & there's also a carousel for little ones to ride. During Christmas, Santas Village looks wonderful!

Nice for Walks

By Paul S |

To be honest, we don't shop here as we don't really care for any of the stores. However, this is a great mall to use for exercise as it's a sprawling indoor mall with multiple levels and a beautiful interior with water features, stairs, and a pedestrian bridge over Bear Street. During the Christmas season, it's also decorated beautifully.

There are a lot of places to eat here, which is nice. Unfortunately, the one bookstore closed a few years back. Definitely come for a visit; if nothing else, you'll be able to get some exercise!

Parking is easy and plentiful. I might recommend parking in the subterranean lot on the west side of Bear Street and then walking over the pedestrian bridge. It makes for a really nice entrance into the mall.

Shopping and Lunch

By L7364WOmichelleb |

Love, love, love this shopping mall. It has every high end store you could want and it's so big there's a bridge you walk across the street to another side full of restaurants specialty shops and more. It was so much fun taking my granddaughter and her friends for a day full of shopping and lunch, it was a ladies day for sure. One of the most beautiful shopping experiences in the of most beautiful mall ever .

Best shopping on the planet!

By lordsnowden1961 |

I shopped at South Coast Plaza for over 30 years. I a state where there seems to be a shopping mall everywhere you go, South Coast Plaza is a very special place. There seems to be every top named store under one roof! If you can't find what to wear here it here it probably isn't on the market.
The decor is top of the line as are the many restaurants and attractions for kids on the premises, including a large carousel!
Go over one of the two bridges and you find world class hotels, the Orange County Performing Arts Center and Segerstrom Music Hall among other attractions.
There is a reason South Coast Plaza is number one and rivals Disneyland as a world-wide destination.

Upscale and on point

By Kathy R |

I've been going to SCP since it opened. Over the years it has transformed from family-friendly to upscale. It's always interesting to shop or dine or even just take a walk. You never know what you're going to see or find. Sometimes I go just to get ideas for how to dress or make choices for home. I never see it as getting old.

Shopping Hell

By XCalifGal |

I grew up with South Coast Plaza, but found it too big and too expensive now. It is truly a shopper's hell unless you live to shop overpriced stuff. Then there is the 8% sales tax to fund California's bloated budget. No thanks, I'll stay with Amazon and my better Tysons Corner I in Virginia, thank you.

Nice mall with many luxury shops

By ThomasEMM |

South Coast Plaza is a really nice mall, close to John Wayne Airport and about 15 to 20 minutes (with regular traffic) from Disney. If you want luxury, all the major brands have shops here (in the bigger building, on the first floor) like Gucci, Rolex, IWC, Louis Vutton etc. Regular shops are also available. The bridge from the bigger building to the new smaller building is also very nice, and the new smaller building has also many shops to offer. Food offering is also very good, not through central food court though, places are spread out throughout the mall.

They've Got It All

By judysinger |

This mall will take you two days to cover and leave you wanting or needing anything more. Put your walking shoes on and go-baby-go! From all the top fashion designers to the lower end (price wise) of the spectrum - it's all there. PLUS...if you get hungry or thirsty along the way, they've got plenty of places there for that too. And if an exhausting amount of shopping isn't enough in one mall - there's a BRIDGE across to MORE!!!! JUST DON'T FORGET WHERE YOU PARKED!!!!! :-)

High end shopping

By TravelReviewer1983 |

We spent a couple of hours in the South Coast Plaza and realised straight away that this isn't a place for the average shopper.

With the exception of a few brands, this place mainly contains expensive brands.

Great Shopping

By Ric A |

SCP has a array of stores and places to eat, it seems that they always have something going for kids, parking is fairly easy, and the Crystal Court is very pretty during the holidays.

Getting a little too snooty.

By Jami JoAnne R |

SCP used to be fun with stores like Gamesmanship and other neat little stores like that. Then they decided they wanted to be a "high class" mall and are little by little driving out anything fun and affordable. Replacing them with snooty, high priced places that you never see any customers in. I've yet to see one person in the high end lingerie stores or the expensive shoe places. They got rid of Rainforest Café and replaced it with a boring dim sum place. Only reason to go now is for Gamestop, Victoria's Secret, and to hopefully get a few street passes on my Nintendo 3DS.

South Coast Plaza

By Anne S |

I found the choice of shops a little underwhelming and did not like that H&M were in another block across the road.

the Sephora there was great.

Spent a delightful afternoon

By deggs |

If you love to shop this is the place for you. I have been shopping here since it was built and it has really changed over the years in the caliber of high end stores. I actually prefer the Crystal Court as it contains most of my favorite stores and I love a meal at Pa cific Whey.

Be prepared to walk

By Amre M |

Went there twice in a week and we were no close to finishing the whole mall. There are nice upscale places and a good variety of restaurants inside and outside around the mall. There is almost every shop you can imagine and kids would enjoy it too. There are places for the kids to play. If you get board, there is movie theater to relax after all the shopping. One of my favorite if not the favorite mall in the LA and OC area

Super high end mall

By Sunny J |

Can you imagine 3 Louise Vuitton shops in one mall? That's insane. This mall has every luxury brand you can name. The mall has a big carousel in the middle for little kids. Oh and Disney store. The bathroom is clean. The mall is clean.

Huge Mall, Huge Prices

By Lynda V |

So, this is a great mall for window shopping and drooling over all the beautiful designer clothes, shoes, handbags, etc., and fancy gems and jewels. However, unless you've got lots of money, it can be challenging to find something to actually buy here.

I do shop at some of the anchor department stores (Nordstroms, Bloomingdales) - not that they are at the price point of, say Macys, but you can find some higher-quality clothes, shoes, and handbags at semi-decent prices (meaning, not super cheap, but not Chanel or Dior expensive either). I also get my perfume and some cosmetics from Nordys or Bloomies. However, even at those department stores, I avoid the "designer" sections as they are just ridiculously expensive.

In terms of the designer stores (non-department stores) at South Coast Plaza, I limit myself to window shopping and don't even go inside the stores. Though I love some of the designer stuff (especially shoes and handbags) and make a decent living, I just can't bring myself to shell out $1,000+ for one item of clothing or one pair of shoes or one handbag.

I actually do more buying across the street from the main South Coast Plaza mall (you can use the bridge on the second floor near Macys to cross) at stores like Crate and Barrel and Sur La Table. This shopping area is concentrated more on home furnishings and related items, and so tends to be closer to a price point that I am comfortable with. Even better bargains are found at the adjacent Metro Pointe shopping center, where you can find a Nordstrom Rack, DSW Shoes, Marshalls, Saks Off 5th, Barnes & Noble and similar (plus my personal fave, the Container Store), along with a movie theatre and several reasonably priced dining options (fast food and sit-down restaurants).

So, unless you have a huge shopping budget, limit yourself to window shopping at South Coast Plaza. Maybe splurge a little on a nice lunch at one of the restaurants at South Coast Plaza (see my reviews for my favorites, including Capital Grille and Marche Moderne), then head across the street to actually shop.

OC Housewife Meca

By Mark |

I don't have much to complain about when it comes to South Coast. It has tons of shops and places to eat, as well as plenty of parking. I do find many of the salespeople rude, unknowledgeable, and just unhelpful. Especially if your Black or Latino, no surprise there... it is Orange County after all. I don't really favor being followed by little white ladies in department stores, and they are so obvious haha. That aside, the mall offers a lot, there are a ton of Designer stores to shop from, one right after the other which is fantastic when you want to see who has the best items when you're there. The place is so big you can almost get lost in it but its a good place to walk around.

High, Medium and Low End Stores in 3 Different Areas

By Mr Matt |

The best way to explain this mall would be that the attendants cleaning the bathroom have bow ties on. I think that pretty much sums up the experience. This place has 3 main sections a high, medium and low end stores. If you look around and see Prada and Gucci you are in the high end section, take the skybridge over to Pottery barn and Nike and things look a little more normal, head across the street for a Nordstroms rack to get some deals. Given that everything is clean, there is decent food options and a large variety, I would say this is a cool place to shop on a rainy or hot day (it’s all inside).

Disappointing

We arrived at South Coast plaza and had high hopes of a good day out.

Yes the mall has lots of shops but the environment was sterile and seemed it was targeted for more international visitors. The placed lacked any atmosphere or buzz. We found it very dated and decided to leave.

The next day we headed to Fashion island which we preferred.

Shopping Heaven!

By Amelia P |

South Coast Plaza is a shopping delight. Every type of store you can imagine and they are NOT all at the highest end of the price scale. There is something for everyone and every age.

My teenage granddaughters loved shopping here when visiting from the mid-west and the south-east. Stores not in their towns were here and they made sure they took something home from the ones they liked the most.

I like it that you can find a place to sit down in the common areas. So often that luxury is not available in shopping malls. I also like the presence of security guards. Makes me feel safer.

If you're going to visit Costa Mesa, you'll want to visit the South Coast Plaza.

Shopping time

Took a stroll through here with my son to take care of some Christmas shopping. Nice place with a lot of high end stores, places to eat, Christmas decorations and attractions to make the place nice to visit. Can't go wrong here!

Classy ~ Variety ~ Shopping & Dining

By Cassy_Kat |

Let's start at the very beginning. Thank you Segerstrom family, for donating the land to construct this wonderful shopping center. It all began with the anchor stores, Sears and May Co. And, even a two level Woolworth's. At present, there are the exact upscale designer shops that grace Rodeo Drive! And - Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Victoria's Secret, See's, Tiffany, just to name a few. Of course, I am a bit biased as I once worked here. I was told the revised, Nordstrom Cafe, is a wise decision. Antonello Espresso Cafe is a casual place to order an Italian coffee, desired sweet, and a raised view to people watch. Okay bye. Carry On & Shop~

Worth a visit to be sure!!!

When visiting or just shopping the the Newport Beach area be sure to visit the Southcoast Plaza. It has everything!! Fine clothes, really good food selections, great miscellaneous items and an overall feeling of ambiance. A greater variety of goods, services and eating choices would be hard to find. And I have seen examples of this mall in five times around the world--simply the best!!!

Many choices

By Jim W |

This is great Mall. You will have a lot of choices to spend your money. All well kown brands are present here, like Prada, Burberry, LV, GUCCI etc.

Mother of the Bride and Groom Shopping

By kv0lpei |

Nordstroms, Bloomingdales and Macys had the largest dress selections I have ever seen. Worth the 2 hour drive home for us.

Best of the best

By wheelernodealer |

Other malls may be dying in US but not this gem...well-managed and maintained it is the place to shop in Orange County if you want name-brand goods. Top flight restaurants and almost all other retailers either in mall or nearby so whatever you may want is also available. Even Sears is interesting here. But be prepared to walk alot as the complex is spralling over multiple locations.

Best shopping mall in LA

By Kevin P |

Postive: All the major brands can be found here. Clean, bright and nice ambiance.
Negative: No sports store to be found. Sports Authority AND Sports Chalet have closed down.

Best shopping

This place was huge! We were there for pre-black Friday shopping and there were bargains galore! Brand names on sale.
Will definitely visit this place again.

One stop shop

By Monica S |

This mall has it all... and by all I mean everything from the top of the line fashion forward stores to the surrounding perfectly easy to access more affordable stores for the past fashion hunter in us. Dining on the same scale from top of the top to fast food-ish like eateries.

love this mall

By anncruz0210 |

an indoor mall that carries majority of the designer brands. the mall has great selections of restaurants from budget friendly to fine dine restaurants. i take my daughter as she loves the carousel ride, it only costs me a $1 for her to enjoy and have fun.

A fantastic mall

By Expert1952 |

The South coast plaza is a wonderful mall with a great variety of stores of all kinds, for diffenert styles from general stores to European lead fashion stores. It is very convinient with easy access Kitty and parking. We enjoy each time we visit there and have not yet been disappointed

South Coast Plaza Sucks: Outrageously Overpriced

By gdbill |

South Coast Plaza is a rip-off. At area hotels, resorts and online, they like to market themselves as an outlet in competition with Citadel and Simon, but it's a lie. South Coast Plaza is full retail plus. You will pay at least double, if not triple, for the same items found at any of the other real outlet malls in the area.

However, as a high-end retail mall, the shopping environment is great. Except, of course, at Macy's.

So many stores

By Tsion A |

I like the household stores in this mall: west elm, pottery barn, crate and barrel, anthropologie, Macy's, sur la table,...they also have high end and designer stores. There are bunch of restaurants, cafes including new Starbucks. Love the plant show also.

This is one of the best mall in USA - not so big mi manchi but always great

Excellent, everything you need. Walkable

By Lizzy1Fun |

A great opportunity to shop high end stores in a great climate, and parking is convenient. Large Mall, very popular and well know. People come from all over to shop here. Check it out~!

Very Nice place

By cl1kker |

It was a rainy in LA. I needed an indoor activity exploring all of the nice things LA has to offer.

This place has a lot of them. Including free umbrellas to use when in the outdoor transition areas between the various shopping centre areas.

I spent a very pleasant 3 hours window shopping and walking around.

Parking was ready as it was plentiful.

Everyone there was polite.

Go there and enjoy.

The largest most high end mall of so Cal

By drmader |

Wear comfortable shoes and dress nice.. South coast is huge and high end. We came and just went to Zara and kate spade for specific purchase ..it’s overwhelming ..huge displays and decor and restaurants..parking can be a pain...it’s enormous and you can’t see if a day..of you live here you learn where to park and where you go most. I have been a million times and have never seen it all..but I like that you can see the latest.. crane stationary or luggage or something really unique..but then
I usually buy at an outlet. I get help at Nordstrom
Or hit the rack -not a big mall
Shopper. If you like malls there is nothing nicer than this that I have ever seen anywhere..it does have a parisen feel as it’s hi hi end

Great mall

By Marcelo |

Its a really big shopping mall, got all the shops u want.
1. Not free wifi
2. Need more food restaurant

One of the best malls on So Cal!

By Dany Z |

Especially to get out of the sun for a while, this is the only indoor mall that I actually enjoy. There is always something seasonal to do, great restaurant and it's large enough to really spend the day in.

High End Mall

By William Jeff C |

If you want to go to one of the highest rated malls in the country and see some unique things, this is the place. Be prepared to spend as this mall is loaded with high end merchants that have high prices. Worth a look and will take the better part of a day to navigate all buildings.

Doesn't get any better than this.

By Ingrid W |

Beautiful mall with everything from Sears to Macy's to Nordstrom and a whole wing of upscale designer jewelry and fashion. Toys to crystals to diamonds to the home section across Bear Street. Lawry's is a favorite place for lunch but they also have a Ruby's and excellent restaurants like Seasons 52.

Boogie ;)

By cheryltancl |

I like this place and visit whenever I'm in town. Boogie, or upper class as most would say. I like the selection of shops and how quiet and clean it is. My favourite shops are the french bakery (forgot the name) and Crate & Barrel.

Best place to shop in OC

By S D |

Best place to shop in OC. You will definitely find what you are looking for here. Everything under one rooftop. But, avoid going there on weekends!

Nice mall to dine and shop

By William_Ng_SG |

Had a day to spend and came down here from the nearby Doubletree. I was not disappointed and was able to get a nice meal, some supper to go and also did casual shopping for clothes and stuff for the family.

Free electric car charging

By James C |

And smart, too, because while I charge in the garage under ground adjacent to pick up for Crate & Barrel, I go up and buy stuff. Today I got new bed frame and some iced tea from Champaign. Very cool!

A one stop shopping mall for everyone

Excellent excellent excellent shopping mall in LA

Lived near SCP for over 40 years

SCP is a fantastic place to wonder during the Christmas season and to visit Santa. If you are on a budget bypass SCP because they cater more for the median and above income.

The Shoe Capital of the World! 👠

By Dave P |

Ladies will love it.

There are more high-end designer shoes here (men’s & Women’s) than any where in the world!

If you’ve never seen $2400 men’s she’s before, you can find them here!

You can always find something

By Disnie Moore |

For a mall this is the best shopping in Southern California with many high end designer shops. It is kid friendly and is easy to spend a whole day browsing, shopping eating . The specialty stores have something for everyone. A destination shopping experience for out of town guests.

Fun

By Letty L |

Only Mall my Husband will Step Foot In

By lulunuhu |

'nuff said.

(wait, TA wants me to elaborate )
Every mall shop known to mankind. Great shopping concierge services, use 'em and really enhance your visit to the OC. Great restaurants, professional employees, lots of bling and a carousel for the kids (but oddly no play area). Looking forward to my next visit. My husband, mentioned above, enjoys the calmness and extremely helpful employees at Nordstrom. Plus, he can pretty much do all his shopping in one mall, in one day and not have to return for a year.

A Nice Mall

By john j |

We, along with our friends visited the Mall looking for some good deals. Unfortunately, we didn't really find any, finding the shops to be expensive, with a lot of up market brand stores.
After a lot of walking, we crossed over to the other side of the Mall using the Bridge Of Gardens. Some nice shops on that side, but no real bargains.
We found Ruby's Diner on this side, so had a nice lunch there.

Love!

By JLJTiverton |

We enjoyed a wonderful day of shopping. Thank Macy's! I was visiting South Coast Plaza to shop for a dress and shoes for a wedding I was attending. You made this a painless experience. I had plenty of choices, and the staff was very helpful. The shoe dept also had a great selection and the sales person was very helpful. He made suggestions that I would not have chosen and I ultimately purchased his selection.

Big and Nice

By spike94epi |

It is one of the biggest indoor type malls i've seen here in SOCAL. It has more Upscale Brands but other fashion brands are also located in other levels. Restaurant selections are a bit few compared to other malls.

Disappointing

By Shannon J |

Hours are terrible, after the holiday I guess 11am is the earliest you can get in on a Sunday, must be nice. Website details are incorrect, though they didn't seem to care and no one to speak with at the service desk, empty! .No stores for people who do not wear a name brand on them so sad, I guess some of us don't count unless we can afford that. Staff's in stores are so rude unless you look the part. Zara lines wrapped around the building, they don't open on time, just a really bad look for such an upscale " center"

Wow

By califcasl |

This takes me back to a time when shopping was actually a pleasurable experience. Great selection of stores and restaurants! Malls that don't meet its standards should just close.

great place

By marriedtoapom |

great place to go for everything. has most shops and a great range of food options. 1 of the best malls we have visited

Wow!

By Lisa P |

This mall has more high-end stores that I've ever seen together in one place! While I didn't buy a lot, it was fun to walk around and see the stores and displays. It was a nice distraction from having had my flight canceled that afternoon and not being able to get home.
