St Pete

By Ruby B |

Absolutely beautiful beach! You must get a day pass at the Don Cesar.
We bring all our guests to the Don Cesar on their first visit.
Then downtown St Petersburg! Simply gorgeous!

Another awesome beach here in the USA!

By DownShore888 |

Any beach from Pass-a-Grille up to Clearwater is gorgeous, and this includes St. Pete Beach. Beautiful sand and clear blue water make for a great beach day. There are beach bar/restaurants conveniently located if you want to get out of the heat for a bit. If you want more choices, or want to do some shopping, you have plenty of choices a few blocks back. The whole community has the beachy feel and I recommend a visit.

Nice Condo

By Michael K |

Very nice condo clean quiet very close to the beach. Easy to get to right on main road. Great bar not far with in 🚶 distance.

Lovely beach

By Travel Booze Food Happinesses |

I can see why this is rated so highly as a great beach in the US. It’s beautiful, and worth a visit and some great places to eat/drink

The sunsets are lovely

Great for shell collecting

By ashley16nicole |

Overall saint pete beach is a beautiful beach. It's not necessarily your white soft sand you'd find at other beaches and it's quite shelly but I suppose that's part of what people like about it. Its very large so there is plenty of coast/space to find your place for the day. Dolphins and other sea life can be seen daily.

St. Pete Beach

By 387indy |

Exceptional beach, #1 for 2021 by Tripadvisor (up from #2 in 2020), beautiful soft white sand on the Gulf of Mexico. Everything to do: water sports, shopping, restaurants, galleries, hotels, iconic pink palace- Don CeSar, Trade Winds, Postcard Inn. The weather is perfect.

Most attractive beach on the gulf

By Kurt C |

Just walking the beach is a great experience. This is our favorite place in Florida to vacation. We come back every year and stay a little longer each time. So much to do and see, we just add to our memories annually. It's just my wife and I and we have made many new friends.

White sand family friendly

By medsalesguy |

This is a long white sand beach that the gulf is known for. Plenty of open restaurants, bars, and live music to keep everyone happy. Was there at spring break and no craziness, just everyone having a great time. One thing of note is the county is not dog friendly on the beaches. Will definitely be back.

Siesta beach resort

By Jimi A |

5 stars great time! Mickey was a great bartender! Kylie and Shannon are great servers! Vince too! Amazing time Tasha was great for brunch!

Beach day

By Joe |

The reason we came to St. Petersburg was the beach. It was worth it, the water was warm the sun was shining and the crowd wasn’t too bad. All in all it was a nice day at the beach, next time I’m gonna remember a beach umbrella cause the sun is quite unforgiving.

Favorite beach in area!

By KathleenG |

Always perfect place to go visit for a getaway! Beach area offers restaurants, fun tiki bars and variety for all!

Beautiful and serious warm water temperatures!

By Cherry_Wonderdog |

We pitched a beach tent here during an afternoon during one of August’s heat waves, thereby successfully preventing third-degree burns and stage four melanoma. Our bouts in the ocean water were long and extended, probably because water temperatures soared into the 90s. We’re talking bathwater baby!

The beach was delightful, sand soft and powdery, with neighbors respectful of others. The only thing missing at St. Pete Beach for us were vendors to sell you pina coladas which, of course, can sometimes be problematic, too. Our only gripe during our visit was the wind, because it blew away our half-dome tent and required us to rebuild and reinforce under the hot sun. Still, it’s hard to blame St. Pete Beach! ;-)

Wide, Walkable, White Sand Beach

By whatJDsaid |

St. Pete beach is a great beach for many reasons. It is a long and wide stretch of white sand along the gentle water of the Gulf of Mexico. There are stretches that are tranquil with few people; there are also stretches that are quite active. There are shells and all kinds of sea birds (and even an occasional dolphin). There are some restaurants/bars you can walk to from the beach. And the sunsets that can be seen here are magnificent. Enjoyable for kids, families, couples, and seniors alike.

Fun place

By paulfcurtis |

Overall fun, beach town. Was hoping for more dining on the beach but it’s ok it’s a casual place. Will come back just not to Don Ceaser

A small off the beaten path section of ST Pete beach called SUNSET beach

By Douglas H |

Review is for Sunset Beach on the south end of Treasure island and the north end of St Pete beach.....Turn at the 7-11 and go about half a mile to the public parking lot using the kiosk or Parkmobile app to a very secluded very close to the parking lot and not alot of walking to the water beach, full of shells and cover from the trees from the sun...The beach is not white soft sand but more a combination of sand and crushed seashells which really dont hurt your feet....it isnt full of amenities like a shower, tolilets, food concessions, just a close beach with very few people and close parking..

Superb!

By Sridhar |

The beach is clean and was not crowded. It took us about 30mnts. drive from the Tampa airport in the afternoon. You get to experience miles of beaches. The sand is white and super soft. The tides were low and made it perfect for kids to play in the water. There is also water sports for all ages. Paid meter public parking is available. Can't wait to return!

Nice

By David S |

Not much to say but GREAT place to vacation. Nice bars!!!! Great places to eat with seafood that in fantastic. The beach is great with beautiful sunsets.

Nice, but not the best beach

By MGMoss |

It has many fine elements to make it a good beach. The sand and surf are good here. The distance from parking to shoreline is not too bad. It was moderately crowded on the weekday we visited. There are lots of rentals for boats and parasailing and such, if you like that sort of thing. The downside is the paid parking and the proximity to all of the shorefront buildings, which makes it feel like you are downtown rather than on vacation. There are better beaches in the region.

Uncrowded

By Ricrey1966 |

Perfect beach to relax, few people, nice sand and water. Very relaxing to stroll around or take a bath, very clean

Lovely, walkable beach

By Tripping9900 |

This is a lovely beach. Easy to walk into the water as it is level (no drop offs). It is a big beach so it is easy to social distance. Not a lot of shells so you can walk barefoot.

Nice Beach but you gotta go through hurdles to get to it.

By Hummelltime |

As far as beaches go, its a beach! yeap.. Facts!

Nothing really special, not the sand or things to do.. I wish it was a more positive review.

Loved St. Pete's Beach

By Brenda R |

We stayed at a resort for 4 days on St. Pete's Beach. It was not crowded, and there were stands that you could walk up to rent watercraft. We did a Banana Bus and it was great. Great white sand, and some shells to be found too. We had a starfish swim up to us.

Gorgeous beach, incredible sand!

By Michael F |

Love the beaches in this area, they are very long\deep; lots of space. The waters are beautiful, and the sand is quartz; soft and gorgeous!

Worth the drive

By Nick B |

This is by far the best beach destination we’ve been too in 20 years. We drove 11.5 hours to get here as opposed to the usually 6 hour drive to the beach and boy was it worth it. We are use to the crowds in the Florida panhandle and traffic being terrible and this was an amazing change from that. Drove everywhere in mild traffic. The beaches were not overrun with people and you could actually get into a restaurant without waiting 2 hours. I also like the fact that there is so much to do other than the beach and putt putt golf/go karts. Probably found our new beach vacation spot.

Beautiful beach

By William B |

Water clear clean turquoise blue and as close to a Caribbean beach as you can get. Water sports for those interested. Great time parasailing.

Fun in the sun

By Lulu |

The Beach was clean the water was clear. My girls and I really enjoyed some fun in the sun. Social distancing was perfect.

Missed you St. Pete

By diane a |

Oh Goodness! My family and I visited St. Pete’s Beach in May/June 2021. It’s been about 9 years since I visited last! I found out what I was missing! It was great! Where we were visiting there were lots of locals around 20 years old and groups of nurses vacationing! It was not crowded and the diversity of the beach goers was great! The holiday was very busy! If you don’t get to public parking before 9am it takes about 3 + hrs to find parking! I would Highly suggest that you don’t park anywhere you are not supposed to! I seen lots of beach goers park in parking lots just to get to the beach and loose their car one by one! This Beach is Stunning and the town is a cozy little beach town Enjoy!

Family Vacation

By joseph c |

The beach ā›± was clean, not too many shells, for over know we liked it. Found a couple nice places to eat and really enjoyed our stay with our youngest son.

Awesome Beach

By LiketoeatCincinnati |

This beach has nice white sand and lots of shells for beach combers. It is a very walkable beach with nice gulf views and gorgeous sunsets. There are lots of resorts, hotels and houses along the beach.

Clean soft sand.

By mspatty1967 |

We were near the Dolphin Beach Resort at 4900 Gulf Blvd. We rented a cabanna to be able to have shade a somewhere to place out towels. Price was very good. The beach was clean and the Gulf water was comfortably warm.

Fun in the Sun

By Jeff T. |

St. Pete Beach was awesome! Great food, drinks, and live music all within walking distance. Jet skis, banana boat rides, and pelicans diving in the water for fish!

Beach fun

By Patrick N |

BEAUTIFUL!

By Queenie126 |

Loved this beach! Took my son there in a cool rental car once! I'd definitely love to return! Nice location; parking is not expenive but
I'd recommend getting there early! Popular because it's lovely! And, God knows I love the beach!

Gorgeous beach

By spenspuma |

Absolutely beautiful beach...gorgeous white fine sand and lovely safe sea.

Exceptionally clean. Well worth a visit.

Excellent Sunset!

By Randy B |

Great beach to watch the sunset and play in the surf. The parking can be tricky during peak times, but very doable. Plenty of shops and restaurant's along the beach to chose from.

great sunset view

By randyhorner |

The view of the sun setting is fantastic and wonderful clean beach to take an evening stroll while watching the sun set.

beautiful beaches

By Debbie T |

St. Pete Beach is one of the prettiest and cleanest I've been to. Everything is well maintained and pristine.

Red Tide!!!

By mss12078 |

Was not aware of the red tide until we got down there. It is not good. Really no on the beach experience for us because of the red tide. We did not even lay on the beach, smell of dead fish and the coughing caused by the red tide not good at all.
Our parasailing was even cancelled because the red tide was so bad there was no water sports allowed.
If going to visit certainly check on the status of the red tide.

Just OK

By jrzj42 |

Not a very clean beach. I saw the truck raking the sand, but made no real difference. Can't have coolers on the beach - how dumb. Can't have alcohol unless you are buying it from a vendor that also has to provide you with a wristband that allows you to have the alcohol (nanny state?). Sand is loaded with shell and some stone - so hard to walk barefoot anywhere on the beach.

Very unprofessional Staff. Disappointed

By Jason F |

We arrived at approximately 1:45 to try and enjoy the beach. Only to see that the kiosks to pay for parking were not in functioning order. I went to ask about the issue and get help from the VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL meter maid LEWIS. This city work had the worst attitude when confronted and told me to down load the app. It’s was not only rude but I was surprised to see how many elderly people were struggling with all of this.
Meanwhile, I was getting more push back from LEWIS about his tickets that he continued to put on cars I’m sure could not pay the fee. Instead of dealing with the issues he continued to ticket cars and yell at people for confronting him about the issue.this was major turn off to your town and beach as we were not only on vacation but looking for possible business areas. This has definitely changed and we will NOT RETURN to this area!

Absolutely stunning

By WeegEsq |

Like something out of a dream, the sunset in St. Pete Beach is absolutely gorgeous. You can’t help but be in awe.

Beautiful beaches - older resorts

By David M |

Beautiful beaches. Resorts are all old and can feel dirty despite renovations. Tons of restaurants both on St. Pete’s beach and a short drive away in St. Petersburg where there is significant trendy dinning and a high end shopping and dining district near the pier.

A nearly perfect beach that is struggling to come back to life after recent storm devastation.

By surfercharlie |

Beautiful. Wide. Powdery sand. Shellers dream. Gorgeous views. All of this was my first impression when I stepped onto St. Pete's Beach for the first time today. It was a chilly day. Many of the businesses are still closed from last fall's devastating hurricanes. We almost had the entire beach to ourselves. My wife was in shellers heaven. Pretty easy to see why this is often named one of the best beaches in the United States.

its worth it

By taureau44 |

it was sunny, warm ,plenty of sun, not very busy ,the water was good, not far from the resort, had good time ,and I will come back

Dream beach to relax! Without much crowds

By Reisen.mit.Budget |

St. Pete Beach has totally thrilled us! Access to the beach is uncomplicated, everything is very well maintained and clean, and best of all: it was pleasantly quiet and not crowded – perfect to just relax and unwind.

Fine sand, clear waters and a relaxed atmosphere make this beach a true insider tip for those seeking relaxation. We will definitely be back!

Paradise!

By Ann Marie S |

Fabulous vacation! Clean blue water & white sands, great food, friendly people. Can’t wait to come back!

Clean and beautiful beach

By Malgorzata K |

This beach is a very clean and beautiful. The sand is a little bit coarse when compared to Caribbean beaches. There is plenty of space to relax or play.

Nice sand, great location, not big crowds

By Michael K |

I like it here more than up the coast closer to Clearwater. The sand is the same, there is more room and not a bunch of howling teens usually.

Decent Beach near ST Pete.

By Steve D |

This was our goto local beech when we lived in Pinellas.
It has all the amenities you need: Lounge and umbrella rentals, shops across the road including a Publix, restaurants. Resorts, hotels, parking, showers.
It will get busy on weekends and holidays like every FL beach.
Water is emerald and can be clear depending on the season and weather.
Sand is Finer with mix of shells due to dredging needed to replenish FL eroding coasts. I place it as Finer than East Coast beaches but Courser than Sarasota beaches. Damn doe sit get hot on bare feet in July and Aug. Bring your sandals until you reach the water.
Watch for Rays and Dolphins. Nothing to snorkel here for as there is nothing to see but sand.
Remember your "Stingray Shuffle" and your be fine.

Excellent Beach - Very Walkable

By GGWD |

Nice big beach, walk for miles on it North and South. Some shells but mostly soft white sand and beautiful clean Gulf water. We loved the beach!!

Really beautiful beach.

By Cherriepa |

Quiet and beautiful beach, not crowded at all. Lots of interesting places nearby. Water was pretty clean, even after a stormy night.

Morning stroll on the Beach

By Eva C |

Living on the East coast, I very much appreciate the beach on the best coast. The sand is very fine, white and hard pressed compared to the east coast sand.
This type of sand makes it very easy to go for a run if you would so desire.
Walking first thing in the morning is definitely a treat by the variety of shells that one will find.
Look closely and you will definitely appreciate all the different colored and shaped shells. Please make sure not to pick up live small conch shells to avoid killing sealife or make sure that the Sea life has left it's home.

Love this beach

By susanhattendorf |

It’s always clean and well kept. The couple days we went it was not crowded at all by our hotel bon Aire which was great!

RED TIDE

By kittymcdivot |

Tons of dead fish, birds, dolphin and manatee. Toxic water kills them. Certainly not somewhere you want to spend your hard earned vacation money is it? Florida west coast smells dead, eyes burn and makes you cough. Don't let them ruin your vacation for the next few years....

Red tide barely visible but…

By Melanie M |

I’d heard about the red tide well after I’d booked my vacation but decided to go anyway. The beach was not as busy as I imagined it would be with people wanting to travel during the COVID break. There were a few small dead fish and I didn’t notice a smell but what I did notice was the air made me cough and my eyes to water. I read that the red tide could cause respiratory and eye problems. Once I put my mask on, things were much better. But the views from the hotel were spectacular and I still enjoyed my visit.

Clean white sand

By Laura P |

The sand at St Pete Beach is cleaned regularly and comfortable to walk on. It is kind of wide so a fairly long walk to the shoreline. All in all, a pleasant kind of beach to spend some time and enjoy nature's marvels.

Great, Spacious Beach

By Irina |

It's easy and hard for me to write about Saint Pete Beach, because I've been to it so many times!

But I'll try. On the west coast of Central Florida, this beach is one of the most vast, spacious and long beaches, totaling about 4 miles in length, and in the northern and central parts of the beach its width amounts to several hundred feet (in the metric system, it would probably be well over a hundred meters). In the southern part of Saint Pete Beach there's that cute, historic and artsy town of Pass a Grille, where the waters of the Gulf of Mexico come right to your feet, and the beach there is much narrower. But no less beautiful!...

The upkeep of Saint Pete Beach is excellent. Being an environmentally conscious, friendly area, the town of St. Pete Beach keeps the dunes and wildlife safe and comfortable in their natural habitat. Some of you saw the photos I recently posted - of pelicans, egrets, that cool oldtimer heron, who all feel quite safe being in the beach area. Very often you can see dolphins jumping over the turquoise Gulf. Some folks had seen a manatee there, but I didn't :). The Gulf is not too deep in this area - so it's good for kids ... and swimmers, too.

So, about the maintenance of the beach. Huge trash cans are emptied on a daily basis, and police cruisers patrol the beach regularly, since there are thousands of people on the beach, both locals and tourists. The hotels usually own some small parts of the beach, where you could see chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, that are meant for the guests of the hotels, but hotels can also rent them to other public. The hotels lined up along the beach strip and Gulf Boulevard, are mainly 3-4 stars, but quite pricey because of high demand, pretty much in any season.

There are many water sports attractions on the beach, also various tour companies offer daily trips to some neighboring island, etc. Saint Pete Beach is also very popular for hosting weddings, sports events, and holidays fireworks. It can be quite a busy place very often!

Saint Pete Beach is perfectly located in relation to many shops and restaurants in the area, plus there's a very convenient Dolphin Village Shopping Center nearby, with all kinds of food stores, cafes' etc.

I love Saint Pete Beach. It is natural, beautiful and unpretentious. I can say for sure: in this part of Florida , it is my favorite beach.

Caddy's great place to relax

By gwenbort@hotmail.com |

Great place to see St Pete's beach. There was a DJ playing outside. Food is great, nice atmosphere. Table & chairs, bar, couches to relax on facing the beach, lots of room under cover to get out of the heat. Fun spot.

Great place to visit, over and over again!

By rsmca1 |

Great town to visit. Plenty of amenities for people of all ages. More restaurants than i could count, plenty of parking, many attractions, etc. Plan on returning!

BEST BEACH EVER

By B3067UM |

So much to see, hear, and do! This beach is the bomb! Shops everywhere, restaurants too numerous to choose, and the activities on the beach for the kids was awesome! They had the best time ever. We will definitely go back, again and again!

Not so good when i visited

By sanju_222323 |

depends on what time of the year you go there. I have read- it is home to TripAdvisor’s No. 1 Beach in the U.S. in 2021 (Siesta key beach got this award in 2015, 2017 & 2020) but we visited there on 25-Apr-2023 and the water was not at all nice. Seagrass was floating and nobody was in the water... that's why its 3 star for me.

otherwise beach was so stunning, with its soft white sand, green water, and laid-back vibe.

The beaches are excellent for their soft, white sand, although the sand is different in various parts of the island. There are approximately four miles of white sand beaches, stretching from Upham Beach (north) to the south jetty of Pass-a-Grille Beach (south).

When you hear people talk about ā€œSt. Pete Beach Accessā€ this is often the beach access they’re talking about. This beach access park is located in the middle of the island. It is owned and operated by Pinellas County.

The City of St. Pete Beach is different than the City of St. Petersburg! The name of St. Pete Beach is ā€œSt. Pete Beachā€, not ā€œSt. Pete’s Beachā€. The City of St. Pete Beach includes all Long Key Island, including Pass-a-Grill to the south and Upham Beach to the north.

St. Pete Beach has three general sections:

Upham Beach North Quiet and less touristy.
Central St. Pete Beach Middle Most busy and most touristy.
Pass-a-Grille Beach South Less busy and less touristy. (review separately written)

Wherever you are in St. Pete Beach, you’re never far from great spots to eat, drink and shop.

There are on-site rentals for beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and cabanas. There is a small snack bar/concession stand that also sells beach gear like sunscreen, water toys, and more. Alcohol is not sold or allowed at this beach access point because it’s a Pinellas County Beach.

Parking: Onsite parking is available. Unlike Sarasota, Bradenton beach- parking is not free here in St Petersburg, it’s $3/hour. make sure when you are in the St Pete beach area, you don't do back-in parking. The back number plate should be visible to the sheriff/police. it’s the law
Restroom: Yes
Changing Room: No
Shower: Yes

Great beach

By Kerryblue |

Good clean and tidy beach, lots of areas to stop for coffee and lunch. Locals and tourists seem to keep it very clean.

The Saint

By Kathy C |

Very , very , very nice hotel. Food and drinks were outstanding. Room was great but all the services were outta the park! The front office was a 10/10! The suite we had was very comfortable just no places to unload any clothes. No drawer space . Other than that 5 star! Go enjoy!

Beautiful Beach

By Seaside553879 |

We stayed at the beach last week for the first time and decided to come right back this weekend because it was so nice. Not crowded which was important due to COVID and the beach is just lovely. Great for family or couples. The strip in St Pete also wonderful with a variety of different restaurants and even Ice Cream shop (Larry’s) - definitely recommend busting Larry’s if you love ice cream they have over 80 flavors. We love this beach .

Love St. Pete

By Noelle R |

Very nice, family friendly beach. Very clean. White sand. Felt very safe and at home here! Highly recommend it.

Like this beach and area better then clearwater!

By Amos6022 |

First time my family has been to this area, and I would say Clearwater Beach is nice, but CROWDED and very touristy. We really liked that by driving south to St Pete, it was less touristy, more locals and just more quiet overall, which is what we prefer. Beaches here are nice, nice sand, TONS of shells that I could collect (my favorite thing to do). Would for sure come again!

Our favorite beach in Florida

By Cherylvandrie |

Despite being a super-busy time of year at Christmas, the beach was not overly packed and was very family friendly (not a lot of drunk kids like spring break time). We love coming here and will continue to make it our Christmas tradition.

Perfect beach day

By morgan |

This is a fantastic beach. The water is the perfect temperature and the sandy is soft and white. Be aware that sometimes you have to walk over shells to get into the water in certain areas. There is a beach bar with snacks and drinks. A perfect place to spend the day.

Beautiful Beach

By Benjamin N |

I went to St. Pete Beach with my family for a vacation getaway, we loved the beach. The sand is soft and powdery white, comfortable to walk on. The water is nice and warm in the Gulf which is good for me, I hate cold water for swimming. We were able to snorkel a little and saw a lot of different fish. Overall just a beautiful beach and we all enjoyed it. Beautiful sunsets.

Walk for miles

By Jeff |

The beach does live up to its reputation. Miles of walking. Was a little crowded over the weekend due to spring break but during the week was much more calm and peaceful. Saw many people picking up trash which was nice. Water was good and ample waves for boggy boarding.

Beware of Rental Car Scam

By Stephen S |

St. Pete Beach was Great. Leaving and returning my rental car was bad. Booked NextCar through Expedia. This company was half the price of the big name company. Got the insurance $80.00 per week. Collision. Upon getting car they wanted to sell more insurance through them. Return car, guy said there are scrach marks under front bumper. something I never would have noticed or known to look for. Since I declined their Liability Insurance $20 a day. They are going to keep my deposit of $150. NextCar Tampa airport. You Get What You Pay For.

Beautiful

By HeidiandCarl |

Soft sugar beach !!! Sea shells too ! Gulf is just beautiful! A little cool this time of year but still breath taking.

Favorite beach

By People who travel all over |

We have traveled alot of Florida and other places and always come back here. Little to no trash, no seaweed. Usually some shells 🐚 but not so many you can’t walk down the beach. Not alot of riptide. Several bars or restaurants to stop at. Rental for pretty much everything you need.

Amazing beach going downhill.

By kylieshennette |

I can understand a parking ticket for parking in a permit area, but 2 for $90 a piece and then charging more for the ā€œconvenienceā€ to pay online? We were there for 3 hours and paid $187.

At least employ people to clean up the beach and empty the overflowing trash cans with the money you’re making off of the parking citations.

Also making sure you’re actually ID’ing people and not serving alcohol to minors would be helpful too. I didn’t hear them ask once at the grille.

Crowded

By Montauk123 |

My wife and I stayed at a hotel on the beach for 3 days. The water and sand are nice, and nice enough to walk along, but beach was very crowded. Everyone looking to make a buck (Rent chairs, umbrella, bouncy things in water, motorized watercraft, etc. Not relaxing

Decent beach

By Leigh |

The beach has a more Shelly texture but was overall nice. The water was very nice. Very clean and lots of shells to collect.

Wide, silky white, with shallow entry beach, great for families

By worldsmymuse |

Great accessible beach with bathrooms and showers, and a parking lot conveniently in front! Easy and nice hangout, food close by.

Truly incredible

By Lydia |

The sunsets here are unlike anything else I have ever seen. The sand is white and the water is blue. Found live sand dollars and manta rays.

Wonderful area, beautiful beach

By Lance T |

We went in Sepe; minimal crowds, easy driving and walking. Mostly older (60+) crowd - like us!
Many places close early, but we still had a great, mellow time.

Clean!

By Higgiebaby |

Beautiful and clean beach! Had a park across the street that was clean with public restrooms! Nice lush greenery, and beautiful real estate.

BEAUTIFUL , TOTALLY WORTH IT

By rocioinga |

We went to this beautiful beach with my mom and two kids. We had an amazing day there. Weather was perfect, not one drop of rain. It was busy around us; but where we were sitting it wasn’t crowded. The water was warm and the sand felt like flour. This is a public beach totally worth going to.

St Pete’s Beach by The Hilton Garden Inn

By samo1962 |

Beautiful, expansive, tranquil beach suitable for everyone including little children. Very good to walk with compact sand without too much effort. Sand is fine and clean. Wonderful sunsets.

Beautiful

By MTB-Illinois |

The area is absolutely beautiful. We stayed at the Tradewinds and enjoyed daily walks on the beach and the beautiful sunsets each evening. This area has something for everyone!

Love this beach

By Travelwithcandace |

The sand is clean and powdery. There were a few days there was seaweed washing up on shore, but it wasn’t as bad as I’ve experienced in Mexico or the DR. It’s one of our favorite beaches in Florida.

Great beach

By pollyelrod |

Enjoyed walking the beach, sitting by the beach and enjoying the clean surroundings. This is our second trip here and love the setting.

Clean beach

By Patricia M |

This beach was clean and had many rentals available for those relaxing in the sun and those looking to play in the sun.

Saint Pete Beach

By Ron S |

It's a pretty good beach. It's not as good as the beaches in Sarasota but it's not bad at all. There was plenty of parking.

My wife and I were sick. We came for a beautiful beach experience. We did go to some museums.

By mark e |

The beach is full of Red Tide, causing rash, breathing difficulties, sore throat. Go to east coast of Forida.

Lazy Beach Day

By Femorian |

This is probably our favorite beach in the area. $8 beach chair for the day and we were set. The crowd is always pretty alright and the beach itself is beautiful.

Not a good place for families

By Mike E |

Should rename the area to St. Pothead's Beach. Constant stench of Marijuana. Great place if you want to toke up. Noone will bother you but it's not conducive to bringing a family. The smell is pretty disgusting. We tried to move away from crowds but it's so prevalent you can't escape it.

Beautiful Beach

By CHERYLYNMAC |

Find a hotel/condo right on the beach, great restaurants all over the area and take a ride over to the St Pete Pier for a relaxing time on the ocean. Visit De Soto state park and fish on the several piers.

Disappointing Experience at St Pete Beach

By Wanda D |

I was recently staying at a vacation-house in St Pete Beach for a family trip; and I must say, it was a huge letdown. The beach area near Postcard Inn On The Beach was littered with trash, which really detracted from our experience. There were plastic cups with the name PCI (Postcard Inn) printed on them scattered everywhere, along with beer cans, small 2oz whiskey bottles, straws...etc. It was disheartening to see such a disregard for the environment.

To make matters worse, the atmosphere was far from family-friendly. Loud music blared from different spots, and the presence of pot smokers and foul language made it uncomfortable, especially for my grandkids. We even saw three (3) Sheriff vehicles drive by; yet they did not stop to enforce any laws or beach etiquette, which was surprising and disappointing.

Ultimately, I had to take my grandkids away from the beach, which ruined what was supposed to be a fun vacation for them. I hope the hotel management at Postcard Inn On The Beach (PCI) addresses these issues as it has the potential to be a great destination if they can create a more respectful and clean environment for nearby hotels and all beachgoers.

Lovely beach with great sunsets

By Bob Peffers |

Great for shell hunting and the beach is great for walking and sunbathing. It is hard to beat. It is great for families and for children. It is quite accessible and there is adequate nearby parking.

Beautiful sunset

By jennifer r |

Beautiful beach. Water was warm and the sand was white. Plenty to do including water obstacle courses and slides for kids with umbrellas and loungers for the parents.

Very nice

By Cherry_Wonderdog |

Very nice beach facing the Atlantic ocean in St. Petersburg, Florida. It’s one of the nicest in the area, with white sand, blue ocean waves, and plenty of sun (except when it’s cloudy). There are a few too many hotels and condo complexes for my taste, but that’s Florida for you. If you don’t like it, try another state.

Beautiful

By Dan L |

Great beach. Wonderful nightly sunsets. Plenty of places to rent water sport equipment. Will be back again!

It's a terrific beach!

By ellenh0 |

This beach really is terrific! It is a great walking beach, wide, clean, lots of shells and beautiful white sand! I've had the pleasure of visiting it a couple of times and really hope to return again some day. If you're looking for a great Florida beach you'll find it here. BTW I visited in late January and it was chilly but worth it!!

Just a beautiful beach!

By Maureen C |

The beach is very clean. We were here on a very windy day. We were able to kick back relax and enjoy the 80 degree weather. It was pretty busy, but we weren't sitting on top of our "neighbors".

Awesome .

Love St.Pete Beach.. Great views and so relaxing.Various restaurants and shops to go to. Lots of area attractions close at hand.

White sand beach, warm gulf waters

We love St. Pete beach! We love the calm, warm waters of the gulf of Mexico and the nice community. Restaurants and shops are all close by the resorts.

By Starviagera |

Very busy beach with hotels across the street. Lovely water. Best in the world? Na. Half day with great weather until it started to rain

Beautiful, clean beach.

The beach had nice white sand. It’s a clean beach with a good amount of beachside bars to walk to if you’re looking for a cocktail.

Great Beach for walking!

We took a daily 3 mile walk on the beach from The Alden to The Don Cesar. Great exercise, great scenery too!

Another beautiful beach to add into my 4C beaches - Calm, Clean, Clear and Color!

By Phuong N |

The water is clear . You can see fish swimming around you and on the top. Beautiful weather in an early summer day. It has wooden walkway to the beach, a clean restroom and parking lot. If you don’t have chairs and umbrella, you can rent. Very convenient! Will be back definitely!

St. Pete Beach

Such a lovely beach. City takes great care of it, saw them out early picking up garbage. Lovely sunsets!

White sand type talcum powder

By Sarah R |

Wide and spacious beach. Fine white sand that dazzles. The water is warm and clean. It is not crystal clear water (for me no one beats the Sardinian sea!) but it has turquoise and emerald shades. I found peace and quiet....I recommend a couple of days here doing a road trip of Florida.

Just a get away!

By Dawn M |

We always enjoy St Pete Beach and its laid back attitude. We always stay on the beach with lots of restaurants within walking distance. St Pete never disappoints

Lovely Beach

By Emily N |

I had a great vacation at St. Pete Beach. Easy access to the beach. Easy access to places to eat and souvenir shops.

Harrasment On The Beach

By tomjansons89 |

For some reason every time I come to the beach these guys that small bad come up and beg for a donation for a charity they literally seem to be out here every day.

Why does the town/hotels allow this?

Amazing!!!

By Fabiana Baad |

Beautiful beach and lots of things to do at the TradeWinds Grand resort. It’s a safe, clean with fine white sand. The cabanas were great right on the beach and the big water slide for families with kids. Tiki bar and lots of sitting area on the beach. Great for walking as well.

Came for the sunset, it was beautiful!
Clean and relaxing. A local suggested this beach as one of her favorites. Family friendly and easy to find.

By Arnie S |

What a beautifully well taken care of beach. Everything was perfect and tons of activities and restaurants

Post Hurricane travel pretty good but not back to normal.

By MeeshK |

We had beautiful weather, amazing fishing and found plenty of places to eat. Everyone was very accommodating Sind so much at previously been closed. Downside is that accommodations were limited, so make sure you read the fine print about amenities that may not be available and ongoing post hurricane construction. Also, we couldn’t find EV chargers on St Pete Beach and not all stations were reported OOS.

Fun in the sun!

By menos |

One of the finest beaches I have ever been on! white quartz sand that is never too hot! Small waves and very little risk of rip tides.

Nice beach but needs cleanup

By Albert Z |

Nice beach, was not crowded, but surprisingly dirty. We went in the afternoon on Sunday and noticed just full trash bins and waste all over the beach. This combined with Red Tide just made the visit bit disappointing ...

Great beach vacation

By Cindy C |

We had just a wonderful time. We really liked Johns Pass and our resort Tradeswinds Grand was the best. Our dinner cruise on Starlite was lovely and we did a charter fishing trip with Anglers Dream. Great place to vacation.

Better than the caribbean -great beach

By John R. |

I have traveled all over the US and caribbean , visitted many beachs. St Pete beach is the best. Wide, white, sandy beach , beautiful clear water . Good places to eat. I am 62 and I cant belive I never thought of coming here- my mistake.

Clean beach. Not too congested

By Hy R |

The sand is white and clean. Parking is available at select entry spots. There are restaurants, bars, and shops.

Maybe a 10 minute drive to I-275.

The main road is not as crowded as Clearwater Beach. So, easier to navigate.

If you want more attractions, Clearwater Beach offers more boat rides, etc. leaving from its main area near the pier.

If you just want a good day at the beach, St. Pete's is fine. We were there when birds were nesting on the beach. It was cool to see the baby birds with parents flying around protecting them.

Lived in the area since 86. First time here. WHY?

By Spiritual A |

Loved the beach. Very walkable and beautiful views. Not so crowded as other beaches. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful White Sand, Warm Water, & Sunsets

By Mary Ellen W |

Beautiful white sand beach, warm water, and sunsets. I thoroughly enjoyed picking up shells, bird watching, and swimming in the warm salt water. The beach is clean and well maintained.

Love This Beach

By David L |

The sands are white and cool and the beach is expansive. The water is an emerald green and you can see aquatic life by ducking your head in the water. There are a handful of underused volleyball courts available for use. The parking is a little bit pricey. We arrived a little before noon and there was ample spots available. By the time we left around 4, most of the spots were gone.

My wife is a Destin fan, but Destin's a little harder to get to. She was sold on St. Pete's Beach, especially because the traffic around the area was much calmer than Destin.

Sunset at the beach was awesome!

By MidwestKathM |

This was the only beach we visited during our recent time in Florida. Late Sunday afternoon. A bit windy and chilly, even somewhat overcast. But the clouds parted enough for us to enjoy the sunset.

White sandy beach

Great views of the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is very nice quite busy! Lots of people on a Friday morning. Lots of boat traffic.

Watch the sunset at Pass-A-Grille!

By TravelChic4469 |

The Pass-A-Grille area took quite a hit last fall from the hurricane but it’s still moving and is a great place to sit and enjoy the beach! The beach is clean and easily accessible.

Gorgeous beach with white sands - very chilled out after the crazy Orlando experience

Beautiful Beach

By DLP |

St. Pete was still cleaning up from the Hurricane when we visited in early November. The water had a brown color to it, probably from everything that got churned up, but yet still clear. The water itself was not choppy. It was calm….you could use rafts and you could see the bottom. The beach was lined with shells. It was difficult to navigate around sometimes to get into the water, but the Shelling was unbelievable. The sand was still a nice white color. The beach mixed with the Florida sun was a glorious few days and it will only get better as the clean up efforts continue.

St. Pete feels like a tourist trap with predatory towing and locals who don’t want you there. Won’t be back.

By Don W |

I was excited to visit St. Petersburg as a visitor from the East Coast of Florida. I thought it would be a fun couples trip and a good way to support their community after the hurricane damage.

Unfortunately, predatory towing practices marred my experience.

Despite a lack of clear signage, my car was towed within 30 minutes while I enjoyed a local market.

I stood in line with 10 other visitors facing the same fate of a $200+ fee. It was clear that they are predatory with the poor signage, fast towing, and number of visitors being towed in such a short time.

When I expressed my frustration and reluctance to return to the city, the towing company’s response was dismissive: they openly admitted they don’t care if tourists come back, saying they ā€œprefer less trafficā€. A disappointing first impression and per the preference of ā€˜locals’ I won’t be returning or recommending what used to be a charming beach town.

Family Friendly Beach

By Love Life |

We found great shells, waves were gentle and a great little place to grab lunch. You can walk as a couple or a family like we did. Very clean and we felt safe.

Great trip!

By Lesa T |

I spent 5 days with my sisters at the beach, it was so much fun! The white sand, clear water and wide open beaches were so peaceful and relaxing. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a short drive.

By kuroninjaofshadows |

Really enjoyed my time here! Very pretty, would love to come back if I'm in the area again. Definitely worth a visit.

Best

By Julie B |

Love the flat area of sand on the beach! The Breeze is good likes friends! Having a beach towel from your friends home is better than my towels!
Thinking about family at beaches all the different times!
Cooperatone sun screen smells like the beach! My cousin said!
Remember Sharon! I must plan a trip with her here! Do the same with your friend! Make some noise!
Thank you!

White Sand

By Sandra R |

Clean and beautiful beach. Not too crowed in November when we went. Lots of great places to eat and plenty of parking.

My favorite place on earth.

By Kelly E |

I absolutely love Saint Pete Beach. I typically cruise six times a year and with the pandemic I’ve had to do land base vacations. I’ve had three vacations booked here, and never disappoints. Beautiful beach, the restaurants and hotels feel more local, less corporate and all-around a great vibe. Excellent for running as well as you can run on the beach in the morning and if you need more miles you just hop on Gulf Blvd and keep on running. There are plenty of bike paths and around the area as well. It’s just a short 10 to 15 minute drive to the Pinellas Trail, that’s about 50 miles of scenic bike and running path!

Bad Taste

By Sheree H |

No, absolutely not the 'best' beach. Think someone hired the off-shore rating bots to rig this one (yet again). Do people even know what a beach is??

Overall

By wshaw1055 |

Overall a good place to stay. Great beach, nice pools, good bars, great staff. Compass Grille was overpriced but several other choices within walking distance. Grocery, liquor, drug stores also within walking distance.

Beautiful clean beach

By Christina H |

Beautifully clean beach. The most perfect place to watch the sun set over the ocean. Swimmable beach with green/clear waters. Soft white sand. The water is low so you can walk out far. I did not see much in the water. Some seaweed washes to shore but it’s bearable. Lots of beach bars/restaurants. Excursions right on the beach, jet ski’s ,banana boat, parasailing & ferry to shell island. Defiantly loved this beach. It was not over crowded (mid August). Definitely will return.

My favorite area in Florida

By GumboMambo |

Of all the beaches I’ve been to in Florida, SPB keeps calling me home. I love the vibe of this beachy little island! Close to TPA, PIE and RSW airports with many flight options, so it’s an easy in & out for a quick getaway. Once you go, you’ll keep coming back. It’s been my home away from home for 25+ years!

Awesome Beach

By C3650SCjimd |

What an awesome beach. We stayed at the Tradewinds Grand Resort on St Pete Beach. The sand is soft and clean. Tons and tons of shells. You do need to watch where you walk with all the broken shells. The kids had a blast playing on the beach. The water is clean and free of seaweed. I highly recommend St Pete Beach.

Miles of Sand

By Cynthia P |

Great Beach! Lots of bars and restaurants nearby to also pass the time. Water is on most days pretty clear and warm. Love coming down to this great beach.

Nice beach but cold this month

By la o |

Looked like a beautiful beach. Walked on it after sunset - very pretty - too cold and windy to sit and enjoy the first week of December

Maintained

By ShawneeKansasCity |

This stretch of beach has more private hotels and resorts, so the beach is better maintained than other public beaches.

Hard Packed Beach

By pfefmeister |

Love this super wide beach with hard packed level sand making it easy to walk. Plenty of shells to sort through as well. This is one of the best and widest beaches around. Parking - for a fee - seems to be plentiful.

Beach Views

By Darryl & Tiffany Holmes |

Came here after work with the family. It’s one of the best beaches and it has a snack bar with incredible food. We come here often, since we live here.

White beach

By ashes33 |

The beach was white and nice. Shelly in some spots but’s not horrible. We seen dolphins in the mornings. We enjoyed it.

Nice beach!

By Mike F |

Nice beach! Stopped here to explore, kind of a chilly day but this was a good choice. Beautiful beach, sand, shells and views!

I’d return here in a nice day to spend some more time, maybe fish a little bit we enjoyed our time and our long walk.

Not a beach person, but enjoyed this beach

By UpstateExplorer |

This is a wide, very clean beach with a gradual depth going out. When we were there the Gulf was relatively calm (the wind blowing from the mainland) and small swells at best . October was not at all crowded.

Vaca

By Angie |

We love St Pete’s beach!! Wonderful place to visit and vacation . Second time here and will definitely be back again.

Perfect

By Mark G |

St Pete Beach is a beautiful 4 mile crescent shaped beach with incredibly gentle clear water with powder white sand. Normally our mid to late May visits have the Gulf Of Mexico water in the 82 degree range, but for whatever reason it was 85-87 degrees during our week. The surrounding Tampa Bay coastal area was in the midst of an extreme drought which could possibly be a part of the reason since the rest of the gulf was shown on TV had temperatures around 82. Air temperatures hovered between 88-90 all week. The water was so warm we walked right in without a flinch and there were fish everywhere. One of the other guests staying at the Sirata stated they even saw a Manatee close to shore, something we have never seen here. No wonder it's constantly rated as one of America's best beaches. There are also a lot of great beach bars along this strip.

Stunning beach sunrise

By Holzfrog |

We got up super early and came here whilst in Florida to watch the sunrise based on everyone’s recommendations. It was absolutely incredible! Barely anyone else on the beach and the sea was beautifully warm with stunning fresh shells that had been washed up overnight. We literally watched the sun rise over us whilst a large seabird walked by. It was magical. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Best Beach Experience at Uphan Beach

By Shannon C |

Soft sand, gentle waves, beautiful rock jetties, convenient restaurant grill, volleyball nets, fishing, cabanas and lounges to rent...this beach has it all. Sunsets are the best part!

Beautiful serene beach.

By Lovekerrlake |

Love this beach, the beautiful sand, clear water, the shopping areas, the resort and the locals. Took the free beach shuttle to dinner.

Calm, quiet, great food and drinks

By Carlos and Aman... A |

Coming from Miami, this beach is far more quiet and makes it easier to vacation. Even during high season (summer before school starts) the beach was peaceful. I stayed at the Bellwether Resort which has it's own private beach with cabanas. The Bongos Bar is a great addition since they serve your drink and food in your own prĆvate cabana. If you don't like the fast moving, packed beaches of South Florida, this is a great spot to vacation. I recommend the Spinner Rooftop restaurant for couples, amazing view during sunsets.

Perfect Beach Getaway

By Donna N |

Lovely hotel, provided everything you need for enjoying your stay & time at the beach. Great location.

Day trip

By Ldp |

We stopped by for a few hours to enjoy the beautiful beach! Everything was clean and we enjoyed our time sitting in the sand.

clean and enjoyale

By fossilprep |

The beach is huge, although I can see a high tide or storm surge easily covering the entire beach. The sand is white and clean. I saw no litter, suggesting the city actively cleans the beach. There are many benches to sit and watch the sun set, a popular activity with guests.

Dirty, stinky beach

By tropical5 |

St. Pete Beach didn't impress me at all. There were lots of barnacles, sea urchins and sharp shells to step on to get into the water, not to mention the terrible red tide with thousands of dead fish washed up on the beach! Everyone was coughing and choking. We were there for 5 days and no one ever bothered to rake up the mess. What a waste of a vacation.

Waterside lunch

By denver1978 |

Had a grouper sandwich. Prepared just right. Not dry and not soggy.
I had the outside table next to the water. A delight.
Wish I had a boat to dock for dinner!

Just beach touring

By jennifera399 |

A cute getaway for the day with pop up shopping and drinks and eating and just relaxing by the beach. Also a cute splash pad for the young ones.

Best beach close to Clearwater!!

By Melissa |

I absolutely loved st Pete beach!!! It’s not much different than Clearwater Beach but by far less busy! The water is crystal clear and when I went was the perfect beach day! I took the sun runner directly to the beach and the trolley drops you off right at the beach so pretty easy. I have wanted to go to st Pete beach for years and finally glad I did.

Great for sunning, walking and swimming.

By Gracecarswell |

Great beach for sunning, walking, swimming and shell-hunting. Warm water, even in September, was just perfect for beach times.

Red Tide and Expensive Parking

By ERat |

We usually stay at a condo in St Pete Beach, but due to the red tide situation, we changed our plans and stayed in Orlando. We did drive to the beach since we were told by multiple people "Red Tide is gone! Everything is back to normal." DON'T FALL FOR IT. The effects of red tide is still very noticeable. The smell was horrible! Very glad that we didn't stay a week. Parking in the lot across from Publix is VERY expensive! It was $3.75 an hour. We arrived around 10am and planned to stay all day so I paid $31+ to park from 10am until 8pm. We left early due to the smell and the threat of thunderstorms. As a comparison, we also visited Cocoa Beach on the East Coast during our visit to Florida. We parked at Lori Wilson Park for FREE for the entire day! Not only was the parking free, but the beach umbrella and chair rentals were less expensive at Cocoa Beach too. We usually love St Pete Beach, but this year we were greatly disappointed.

Beach Bummer

By avalawn |

I love the beach. When we visited in July 2021, there were a lot of dead fish and animal life due to red tide. The air was very cough inducing unfortunately. We only stayed a couple of hours due to the air quality and animals on the beach. It is a beautiful area though and in another time- I am sure a great beach. The St. Pete area is typically a wonderful place to visit.

Walking the beach

By Wisconsintown |

Walked the beach in front of our resort and beach was being kept clean and monitored. We saw 2 in guessing beach patrol vehicles slowly driving along the beach. I was being distracted by a guy out in the water fishing. He didn’t catch anything but kept putting bait on so only a fisherman would keep at it. Kids, families people jogging. Just nice and peaceful

Beautiful Beach Destination

By Wayne B |

We had the best family vacation at this beach staying at the TradeWinds. We all agreed this is the place to be.

great day at the beach

By Fran C |

The beach is awesome and very long out to the water. Sand is very soft. You get excellent sunsets right on the beach. Beach was very quiet when we visited.

Perfect with chairs

By Eleanor B |

Love the pier and the snack bar with lounge chairs provided. Right in the center of town. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Beautiful Gulf Beach

By Jenna A |

St. Pete beach is a beautiful white sanded beach, some areas have shells but not enough to require shoes.

Best beach in Florida

By Del S |

So much to do here. Great beaches, great bars and great people. Highly recommended. I prefer the local bars, drunken clam, swigwams and shadracks on pass a grille. Undertow is nice as well.

Amazing and Relaxing

By Shane |

The beaches, the people, and just about everything about this place is amazing. It's laid back and we didn't have a bunch of people running around kicking sand everywhere. Sunsets were some of the most spectacular we have ever seen. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful beach

Soft white sand, very clean. We stayed at Tradewinds, had a super tall slide that all 4 of us 60+ tried!

Nice white sand clean beach. Water was fine for me although my wife thought it was cold still. Also my wife is one of those women that don't make body heat.

Nice quiet beach

By CharlesCanada68 |

St. Pete Beach was great to visit in april. The water was warm enough to swim and the fine white sand feels like summer without the crowd.

Gorgeous Beach!

By Kristy D |

Gorgeous Beach! Very well kept. Sand feels like you are walking in baking powder! Buyer beware: Be very selective about the resort you pick to say at, many are old and rundown. Read the Tripadvisor reviews before you book!

St. Pete Beach is a winner

By bw134 |

My wife and daughters stayed for three days at the Bellwhether Hotel on the beach. The beach was clean and the water clear. The beach was not crowed. My granddaughter was even able to build a sand castle. I want to go back.

Plenty of accommodations to stay at and choose to eat. Clean and safe area to stay. Traffic is not an issue.

Clean & pretty

Clean and beautiful. Bring your own chairs or rent. The park ranger was RUDE. We needed help with the parking pay machine and he wasn’t willing to help. Very short and condescending.

Beautiful beach

The sand is white and soft, the water is clear, and the sunsets are amazing. There are decent public restrooms. There is a fair amount of parking that is metered.

Best Beach

Beautiful white sand beach! We lucked out and found a parking spot right at the beach. Parking is reasonable. Only drawback is we didn’t find a spot to rinse off our feet.

A cute white sand beach town with stunning sunsets

By venkat39 |

St Pete’s beach is a 30 minute ride from Tampa airport. It is a great place to unwind and watch wonderful sunsets on the Gulf

St. Pete Beach

By Melody A |

We always love it here. Most of the restaurants on Gulf Blvd are good and within walking distance of Tradewinds. We enjoy the beach and the food.

Lots of Activities

By Ricobop |

This is a really busy area. If you want lots of activity and people, this is the place for you. Almost everything you need is within walking distance and they have a trolley service (I didn't use, but another member of my party did). Not a place to go for serene and quite, but fun for those wanting an active beach vacation.

Was here last October with my brother, and we had a great time. I used to stay at the tradewinds island grand every year as a kid with my family and have a lot of good memories with them. I'm coming back in March and can't wait! St. Pete's Beach has the best beach in Florida!

Beautiful Beach but parking sucks.

Beautiful Beach but parking sucks.
I thought it was one of those you pay after you leave, so is my fault for not reading.
But also you cannot back into parking spots!
I've traveled a lot in my life and I've never seen this! $30 fine for my Tesla Auto parking backwards too.

Great beach

By Cindy C |

I have traveled all around the entire Florida coast and my favorite beach is St. Pete. It has lots of walkable beach, the water is clear and usually pretty calm. It has so many walkable beach bars & restaurants that you don’t need to get in a car to enjoy all it has to offer.

Awful beach walkway

By maggie92431530 |

Been coming for 20 plus years parked at public beach access spot 3164 had our grandkids and n wagon going over walkway to beach on our side a lady pregnant got very mad cause my husband bumped her shoulder cause she would not move over!! Granddaughter 4 years old screaming cause all she wanted to do was to beach . We turned around back to parking spot 2 men came after my husband foul language and started pushing my husband! We left maybe should be a yellow line put on walkways cause people don't care and cause problems !

Great Day On The Beach

By Charles P |

Nice beach with calm waters, wide beaches, public bathrooms and showers. They offer rental chairs and umbrellas if you chose to travel light. No alcohol or pets permitted and you will need to pay to park. We love Anna Marie Island but this is just as nice.

White sandy break from the routine

By bob |

St. Petes beach is a very nice white sand beach with easy access to a variety of hotels. A rocky Jedi and cove at one end of the beach lends itself to some interesting photo's and a place to sit off the sand late into the evening. Umbrella shelters are available for a reasonable rate through a few vendors as are a few boat excursions. The dolphin watch (short distance from the beach itself at a marina) allows almost a guaranteed look at these amazing creatures. Red tide was present during my visit, so unfortunately there was a fair amount of sealife that had perished at the shore line.

One of the Most Beautiful Beaches I've Ever Been

By Crystaly303 |

I went with friends to visit the beach, and was surprised that in June it wasn't very crowded. The sand was white, and clean. The water was like bath water. There were a wide range of food and drink options, from beach bars to more upscale restaurants. I would love to come back here again!

Paradise without going to the Carribean

By Kelly W |

St. Pete Beach was amazing. The white sand beach and bright blue water was just what we needed to relax after a year in a pandemic. The beach exceeded all of my expectations. The water was so clear; hardly any seaweed and no rocks. There were no jellies either! Our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) provided us with a cabana with lounge chairs so we were able to get out of the sun when we needed too. It truly was paradise. I highly recommend St. Pete Beach!

Awesome Beach Awesome Sunsets

By midwesttravelerMpls |

We have been to many beaches in the Caribbean and Mexico. St. Pete's beach is our new favorite. The beach is wide and the sand is made of white velvet. Absolutely LOVED it!!!

Weekends on St Pete Beach

By Patty K |

Only for singles - NOT for families. Yes, the Beach is a typical Florida Beach (beautiful water and white sand). What I witnessed was young men and women doing what they do best - showing off their bodies and wearing swim suits that advertise it all. Prostitutes and horny boys abound the Beach. I guess if that is what makes it America’s #1 Beach.....I’ll stay at the Hotel pool.

St Pete parking meter scam

By jrj |

So St Pete is a fun place with lots to do on the water and in town. Good restaurant scene downtown. I am writing to warn you about the parking meter situation. They don’t work well- won’t read a lot of credit cards and they try to get you to use an app called Parkmobile which is awful and does not work . This all seems like a scam to me to raise money for the city. Look at other reviews about this and the App. Beware !

Great beach

By dakota2jane |

A lot of good sand and well kept by the city. It is wide with plenty of space for all the partiers. Would go again

Beautiful Beach

By Vidaloqa |

Beautiful white sandy beach, tons of restaurants and shopping up and down Gulf. Blvd. and the Free Beach Ride makes everything super accessible.

Great beach

By Melinda K |

Spent 5 days (Dec 29-Jan 3) here. Weather was 60-75°. With the sun it felt much warmer. Ocean water was quite cold but you know kids don’t care. The beach is huge and beautiful. I will definitely return

There is no beach like St. Pete Beach

By jackj |

My family has been going to St Pete Beach for over 30 years. We have been to beaches in Europe, Mexico and Long Island New York, and East coast beaches, but I can honestly say St. Pete Beach has it all. Year round sun and fun, white powdery sand, warm calm water. and a laid back atmosphere. We first came in the 1980s, loved it so much that we have returned almost every year since. It is a family style place, kids and elderly love it. Try it, you will love it too.

We love St. Pete Beach

By Mark F |

We love st. Pete beach my family’s vacation was awesome the only bad thing was don’t stay at Postcard Inn

VERY NICE BEACH!

By Denny B |

This is a very nice beach. During this time of the year, it was not very crowded. I suspect, when more in the season, this place can get pretty busy. A nice place to visit, as we will return.

Awesome place to get your steps in!

By Heidi P |

We walked up and down this beach, and swam in the ocean. The sand was exceptionally manicured. We've been to a lot of beach resorts, but this one was by far the cleanest. Great job!

Best beach

By Mother3g |

We have visited this beach twice on holiday and it is the best beach we have ever been to beautiful blue water and the shells we saw kept the children busy and we even found a sharks tooth! Lovely sand not too busy at all even in the summer.

beautiful and friendly

By Claudine D |

just a quick visit but already going back soon! Cant wait to visit in the Winter. plenty of good breakfast places and great seafood

Stunning Beaches

By Christina J |

Beautiful sunsets even when it's cloudy. Best Beach in Florida for sure! The water is so nice when it's not stormy and the sand is soft and white. Definitely worth visiting,

A Gulf Coast Gem

By Trevor Yager |

St. Pete Beach is truly one of the best beaches in the country and a standout along the Gulf of Mexico. The expansive shoreline offers plenty of space to relax, play, or soak up the sun, making it ideal for beachgoers of all kinds.

What sets St. Pete Beach apart is its lively atmosphere, with a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants that add to the fun. Whether you’re there for a casual day by the water or an evening out, there’s always something to enjoy.

We always have a great time at St. Pete Beach and love exploring all the beautiful beaches in the greater Tampa Bay area. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the best of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Vacation

By Tim S |

Great beach to visit off season for us temperature was 70s in the morning and mid 80s afternoon, friendly locals that don’t mind helping and advise

One dayvisit

By JoW |

Loud crowds in area. Lots of drinking from early in the morning. Big parties on the beach, make this area less than family friendly.

Terrible

By KevinandMelony |

They don’t allow dogs therefore it’s not a beach I’ll ever visit again , no lifeguards , pay to park , and beach not very well maintained

Always beautiful

By Kelly |

Beautiful wide white sand beach...lots of people enjoying nature....but still not busy. Lots of space of people beach walking, swimming, sunbathing and families playing. Great natural space...truly beautiful.

Easy Access

By Cody |

St Pete Beach is an easy access beach with nearby bathrooms and parking. Always a fun stop for family or a quick dip in the water.

Beautiful

By Cid B |

Beautful soft white sand. Plenty of seashells to be found. Kept clean but people need to pick up their litter.

Salt Life

By Deb B |

Loved the beach šŸ– the cleanest was an A+. I love walking on the beach it was fantastic. Will definitely go back maybe even buy a residence there.

Beautiful wide safe beach.

By Pops |

Sugary white sand, seashells by the truckload and regular patrols by law enforcement. Gorgeous sunsets and several beachfront restaurants.

Stunning!

By Suzie W |

Always sunny with white powdery sand! Light breezes allow for a beautiful just soaking up some rays or a quiet walk long the water line.

Postcard Inn is our Happy Place

By LeslieB1964 |

Second stay with the Postcard Inn in St. Pete Beach, this time for a week-long vacation that is long overdue. The staff is great, very responsive and considerate of guests needs, and the hotel is the answer to the question of how to unwind. So relaxing, so beautiful, so peaceful. Super close to lots of places to eat, shop, and explore. Yoy don't have to go far to get anything that you could possibly want or need. Already booked for a week long vacation here next year, wouldn't go anywhere else.

25th Anniversary

By KarlwParbs |

Always clean and beautiful!! We were able to bring along friends this trip as well for their first time on the beach.

Nice Beach with lots to do

By LPLoveToTravel |

A nice quiet beach in a cool March Day. Lots if restaurants and pubs. We had a picnic lunch on the benches and watch people swimming & sunning.

Fantastic Beach

By Garfieldluvr |

I went to St. Pete Beach for a few hours one morning for a walk. I parked at the parking lot called ā€œSt. Pete Beach Accessā€ which has lot of spaces, restrooms, showers, and was not very expensive (you paid based on how long you were staying). The beach itself was lovely, full of seashells and even some (broken) sand dollars. I bet you could find some cool stuff early in the morning or at low tide. I walked about 5 miles down and back and found the beach to be very clean and peaceful. Lots of trashcans, benches, and even some rental companies for cabanas and chairs if that is your interest.

Great beach

By Busyteacher |

Best beach we have been on. Great sand and long Beach to walk along. Not very busy, lots of shells to find.

One of the best beaches with most beautiful homes

By Sharon M |

Clear water, nice wave, nice beach with beautiful houses around. We had great time here. Worth to visit! Highly recommend.

Awesome public beach

By Kelly F |

Made a quick stop here when we landed in St. Pete before driving north to my Mom's place. What a great way to spend a morning. I can see why people do complain about the parking situation, but it was no problem when we showed up at 11 on a Friday (but by 1, the lot was full). The parking lot was safe and the restrooms and showers were nice. Well kept umbrellas and beach chairs for rent. Sand was nice and water was beautiful (though, we did have a wildlife encounter, the nature of which is still being debated among us the kids...was it shark...was it a large fish...). Will definitely consider a multi-day trip here in the future.

Great beach atmosphere

By Y5945NAcindy |

Lots of space on the beach. Nice white sands. Was not crowded when we went - August 2020 - Lots of shops, restaurants and bars [ if you like that] fun spots for kids.
Typical beach atmosphere. A lot of places close to hotels you can walk and enjoy.

Beautilful beach

By 1sneakypete |

This was our first stay on the gulf coast of Florida and did we hit the jackpot. The beach was stunning. Wonderful weather. There is a variety of restaurants If you want more hop on the trolley. We did not have a car and stayed a week. It was one of the most wonderful and relaxing weeks we have had in a while. We will be back.

Stunning Miles of White Sand

By jackiebr63 |

This is our first visit to this beach and it’s stunning. We visited Clearwater Beach last week and it was nice, but this is something else! We’ve been to many of the Oregon California and Washington Beaches as well as beaches on Maui, the Big Island, Oahu & Kauai. This is the best. And we love the Hawaiian islands, & the Oregon Coast, but this is just stunning.

Sunsets

By James J |

Quiet! Sit and watch the sunsets! Kiss whomever is nearby! Friendly! Easy to drive! Great romantic gateway!

Great Beach!

By michelle b |

This beach is very wide. Plenty of room to spread out. Great sand. There is a publix within walking distance and We ate at Bongo's on the beach for dinner one night. Fantastic.

Excellent and Very Friendly

By TimL |

The Pier was awesome and downtown restaurants were fantastic. Always a great place to visit, so much to see and do.

A Pretty sandy lake

By Engelbert30184 |

I had heard this is rated one of the top beaches in US and i was disappointed by what i found. The sugar white sand is very soft and pretty BUT there are hardly any waves and limited ocean breezes (at least when i was there) and it is a very wide beach and add to that the ugly weeded area beyond it and you are a long way from the beach at your hotel. Also the hotels there are shaped weird that doesn't offer the best ocean views and not many with open balconies as most have plexi- glass windows! They do wear next to nothing there so the view is "enhanced"! We sent pictures back home and they thought we were on a lake! haha

Gems in St Pete

By Laketa B |

Very clean beach with white sand, The sand is not hard to walk through. It was very peaceful a lot of social distancing and the umbrella with two chairs was reasonable. The highlight for me was the bar on the beach and how the beach is set up!

wonderful big beach

the softest sand and numerous places to eat along the beach. Lot of shells just there for the picking.

Great day at the beach

Beautiful! White sand and perfect waves 🌊 perfect for relaxation and spending time with friends and families on the beach.

Better than Clearwater

By TravelingGuyColorado |

Ever tried to visit Clearwater Breach on a weekend? Mass college students and locals cruising down the streets with pot wafing in the air. Something like Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The beach... beautiful, but wall to wall people.
Enter St. Pete’s beach. Just as nice as Clearwater.. and the mass people? Nowhere to be seen! If you don’t like the crowds this is the beach to go to. Not secluded serenity, and it has its share of people but nothing like Clearwater or South Beach on the FL East Coast!

Enjoying my day trip.

By lynne a |

My day trip to st St Petersburg Florida and the beach. The beach is really beautiful and there are many restaurants around the area and the Publix store.

Jet ski tour to Shell Island

By Juliet G |

At the tradewinds resort, right on the beach, there is a tiki hut, that has Scuppers water sports, you can rent JetSki’s and have a blessed in the Gulf or, you can take a little tour. Our tour guide was Josh. He was absolutely so fantastic. we take the JetSki’s right off the beach and go out about a half a mile and we were racing them for a little while.. then Josh gave the hand signals, and we followed his JetSki over to shell island. It was absolutely beautiful. We parked the JetSki’s and were walking around the beach and the shallow water. He then brought us around shell island to the other side near a sand bar where we got off the jet skis again and m swam
In the water . Then we rode back - the whole thing took over an hour and the reason I liked this so much was that we got to actually explore and see things that we didn’t even know was there. Jessica, Bella, and Chris were very helpful in explaining the prices what’s going on and the website where under 18-year-olds can take an online JetSki safety test which is I believe 25 questions, and you can sign all your waivers also online. IThere is a short video to watch on JetSki safety. This is fun to do with a group- but they only have 3 jet skis so maximum
Of 6 people can go at a time - it’s a little pricey- $200 per jet ski - but it’s so worth the experience beciase it was so much fun and honestly 1 hour is plenty of time— also they have a storage compartment on the JetSki so you can safely put in your money, valuables, cell phones. Nothing gets wet. I suggest wearing sunglasses that are secured because they could fly off, but sunglasses are great because there is water spraying in your face quite a bit and definitely wear a bathing suit and they supply life vests there and again we were so happy we got Josh because he was just so great.

Post Card Inn stay Feb 2023

St Pete Beach
We loved the sand & the shells.
Parasailing was lovely. The teenagers had a blast & we really loved the beach waves are not bad in this area.

Beautiful

By Lisa P |

Great place for a short or long getaway. Beach is clean and guests are all friendly. Great beach for couples, families or singles. Location is great and close to restaurants and local shopping

Great Beach with lots of activities!

By Vicky E |

This beach is easy to find and has tons of activities for folks of all ages. It did get a bit crowded right in front of the parking area once it reached noon time or so but we had no problem finding parking at 10AM on a sunny Saturday in January.

There are lots of cabanas and lounge chairs to rent plus all the water toys you could want. Lots of space for walking and a lovely jetty at one end with loads of pelicans that are fun to watch as they dive for fish etc.

Since it is located in a built up area the downside would be all the hotels and businesses that line the beach but the upside is that you have all of this stuff right at your fingertips...we didn't see a beachside cafe but Chick Fil-A was right across the street along with a Publix market so another great find to enjoy some fun in the sun for the day.

Wonderful vacation spot

By jujuchiha |

Went there for family vacation for a few days. Had a fantastic time there. Stores and restaurants are all nearby, some in walking distance. Many activities offered such as Parasailing, sunset cruises, dolphin watch cruise or just relax on the beach with a big umbrella, after taking a dip in the ocean. The water is fantastic. A great spot to see the sunset. Had such a wonderful time there. Wonderful vacation spot.

Great beach!

By 660mayak |

This was our first trip here. We stayed at the Rumfish resort. The beach was beautiful! The hotel was right on the beach. It had 2 pools and s'mores every night by a campfire! Lots of things to do within a half hour drive. Good trip for first visit.

Great beach for walking!

By Dakeita Kluttz Burchette |

Nice beach with blue water. Dont recommend staying at Sirata Resort. Not a good value for high price.

Parking NIGHTMARE

By 123Beamer |

Public beach parking is a nightmare! This beach is in need of more public parking for visitors. The area is not accommodating to people visiting for the day! Traffic is insane in all directions. We were very disappointed in the overall experience.

Beautiful Sand and Sunsets

By Fly Guy J |

Was a wonderful and clean beach - fun to walk on and beach-combing. White warm sand, clear blue water,

Lovely beach

By Jill S |

As this was a last minute change to our holiday we wasnt sure what to expect. We really loved it it was a bit Caribbean meets America. Low rise properties on a peninsula. We enjoyed early morning beach walks and evening sunsets. We enjoyed Corey Ave the ships restaurants and bar.

Great Beach

By Tina S |

Wonderful beaches, easy access, usually easy to find parking. One of our favorite beaches. Only wish they allowed dogs.

Just Average

By Vivian M |

Not sure why St. Pete Beach has such high reviews. We went for the day and public parking was a bad experience as paying for parking was difficult because machine was not working and zone number was worn off the machine. There was a homeless person sleeping on bench with his backpack at restrooms and the restrooms were dark inside. There are no showers for spraying the sand off of you and no lifeguards. The beach sand area was wide a definite plus. Never will go for the day again but would like to try staying in one of their accommodations.

St. Pete’s Beach is fun, fun, and more fun. We’ve been coming here for years with our kids, family and friends. Great beaches and services. Wonderful beach bars and great people watching.

Love it

By nathaliasouzabh |

The beach is packed. But we can’t ask for the opposite: it’s a beautiful beach! The rocks make it even more beautiful! The water is warm, clear and full of small fish. The sand is white and soft. A lot of shells can be found. There are some tents, I guess for everyone to use. There are also volleyball nets.

There is ample acces to the beach, but in almost all cases you will pay to park. There can be a long walk from parking to the water since the beach is wide. There are some facilities including showers, restrooms and snack bar

Used to be so much better!

By ERat |

We’ve been visiting St Pete Beach every year since 2013. Unfortunately, the area has lost its charm and we won’t be back anytime soon. The beach is still beautiful! The water is still warm and calm. But the influx of first time visitors, who’s rude and disrespectful attitudes, have made the area seem more like Daytona Beach instead of the laid-back beach town we used to visit. On at least three separate occasions, my family and I had to hear profanity laden remarks from nearby people. I guess it’s just a reflection of society today. Thanks for the memories St Pete Beach.

What’s that smell?!!

By Pamela B |

We came to Florida to escape the rain and gloom of the Midwest. Florida, though not our favorite place to visit (because it’s in the US), offers sun, beaches, and is just a short flight away.

This time, we decided to explore St. Pete Beach. It's okay, much like the rest of Florida. I believe most people are aware of what to expect when visiting Florida, so there's no need to delve into those details. However, I'm writing this review to inform fellow visitors that the beach has a sewage-like odor. Initially, I wondered if it was due to Red Tide, but upon checking the beach report, it stated that no Red Tide was detected. So, why does it smell so unpleasant? It seems to be an ongoing issue with no clear cause identified. The odor significantly detracted from our beach experience, especially when combined with the prevalent smell of weed that everyone seems to be smoking, except for me. To sum it up, the beach smelled like a sewage plant with a large population of skunks living there.
