Stopped in here (Oct 2014) with my parents for a tasting while doing some "winery-hopping". I'd never been, but read some reviews.
And -- wow!! Just wow.
The staff (Jeremy) and owner (Kristi) were just amazing. Friendly, fun, informative...we felt like we were drinking with old friends.
The 'converted barn' is massive with seating, couches, two tasting bars, etc, etc... and they're looking to open a new sprawling tasting room across the draw in 2015!
The wine was young - but enjoyable. I purchased the Wild Boar Chard, and I don't usually get Chardonnays and my mom got a couple of bottles of their Sauvignon.
The grounds are relaxing and breathtaking -- seating areas of couches, tables, benches, etc... scatter down from the tasting room like a child's toys.... each one providing enough spacing for groups to chat. The vineyard rolls into the distance and at the bottom of the draw is the wine cave. Didn't make it in there, but next time my glass of wine and I am going for a stroll.
This is the kind of winery where you invite friends to meet you, ya' bring a picnic lunch (I think they're permitted), you do a tasting, you buy a couple of bottles of wine and you relax for a few hours... decompress... enjoy the country air.... make new friends... walk in the vineyard... etc..
Wine: Enjoyable
Service: Friendly and Fun
Grounds: Worth the visit
Parking: Grass / rock - large lot
The only downside to our time at Stone Tower was that it was our first stop of three wineries, and we only got to spend a sliver of time here. Can't wait for the grand opening of the new tasting room!!! (feel free to send and invite.)
Would recommend: Only if I want to share with others. Ok - yes!
Would repatronize: MOST Definitely!
Note to owners/managers - better roadside signage pointing to the tasting room -- as we drove up the the maintenance building (which honestly is a nicer building than some wineries I've been to.)

The weather was great as we enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the deck .
Our favorite was the 2018 Estate Rose and the 2016 Cabernet franc.
The vistas are amazing like a picture post card.

We stopped there as part of our Saturday Winery tour and loved the views that this place as to offer. Sadly, the main barn area was closed due to a wedding that day but we still enjoyed ourselves there.
Our wine tasting experience was very good due to the extended knowledge of Peter (I'm hoping I got this right) our sommelier for the tasting. As good as he was though, I sadly didn't enjoy the wine as much as this place only really truly has one red wine. Tasting is 1 sparkling, 3 whites and one red and for $12 + tax, not the best bang for your buck in comparison to other wineries out there.
That being said, this place is absolutely gorgeous and the views are absolutely breathtaking! Great place to stop while on a winery tour if ever in the area!

We had a wonderful day at Stone Tower. We started with a wine tasting with Val. Then purchased a bottle of wine and sat on the patio overlooking the vineyards. Grabbed some food. Perfect day.

The décor is lovely, and the views stunning. But the maintenance teams that keep the place looking stunning are very noisy so it detracts from the feeling of isolation. The food is fine, the wine much beteer

Beautiful winery, but shady hidden automatic fees are not cool.
The winery is exactly what you'd expect for the area - very expensive for relatively unimpressive wine, but still good quality as far as Virginia wineries are concerned.
My issue is the automatic 20% fee I was charged. When I attempted to close out my tab at the end of the day, I was told there was no open tab. Lo and behold, I find the bar closed my tab out themselves with a 20% tip. Given that I attempted to close my own tab out in person, this is wildly unfair and shady.
I was issued a $10 fee for a bottle of wine that I poured and bussed myself.
I'm sure I'll find myself here for future events, but I will be closing out my tab immediately with no tip. It's a bummer, but that feels like the only resolution to their scammy tip theft.

We have been to many of the wonderful wineries in Loudoun and love most of them. They each bring a special something to the great wine scene here. My wife and I really stumbled upon Stone Tower as we were driving to Middleburg.
What we found is a very picturesque setting and a very well thought out winery. It is obvious that the owners and management understand the need for good infrastructure and the different space needs for a popular winery. Everything from the different outside spaces to the incredible woodwork on the interior is done well.
And yes, we had wine too 😎. We did a small flight taste and found some good wines. A great surprise was the sparkling white (Brut). I am not a regular champagne drinker but this gave you that feeling without the tart dry bite.
I only heal at 4 stars simply because we did not try any food but the staff was very accommodating to all of our questions about the history of the place, the wine, and the future plans. Great new winery we cannot wait to come back over the holidays.

Best wine venue in Loudoun. Not only do they have great wines they have great place to enjoy them. Great outdoor places to relax ir inside to watch a football game

We loved it when we visited before the pandemic. Now only 1 wine tasting option which was expensive and very limited amount. The tastings are also no longer available in the beautiful barn. Likely will not return.

We've been members of the wine club for about a year after we discovered this gem by chance. Other reviewers have noted the child/pet friendly venues and the breathtaking scenery. Let us tell you about the adults-only tasting area and the wine club members only section--both are decorated exquisitely as the owners are also the founders/owners of a local/family-owned quality furniture store; the wine club area offers a private wine tasting bar. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating. In addition to tastings, Stone Tower Winery offers SOMMinars on a regular basis to educate but not in a pompous way your wine palate. Additionally, the winery offers special events: we attended a lovely Valentine's Day lunch and a recent fundraiser Save the Rhino, supporting the work of Derek and Beverly Joubert to relocate endangered white rhinos from South Africa to Botswana. Now, for the wine. There are vineyards on the property, the fruits of which are blended and bottled as two Bordeaux-style blends under the Stone Tower label. The 2013 Hogsback Mountain was one of 12 wines in the 2016 Governor's case in the prestigious Virginia Governor's Cup competition. Other wines are blended and bottled at Stone Tower from pressed grapes purchased from vineyards in California, Washington, Oregon and other locations in Virginia; these carry the Wild Boar label and are complex and sophisticated. Our favorites include the 2014 Sanglier Noble, the 2014 Merlot and the 2015 Rose. The latter is a blend of grapes from Virgina. This summer we have taken two oenophile couples to Stone Tower for a Sunday picnic--you can bring your own food or buy from the local food trucks; both joined the wine club after the tasting!

Wonderful winter wine tasting. The place is really beautiful and with a trip. The wines were ok nothing spectacular but the atmosphere made the difference.

If I could give less than one star, I would. DO NOT have your engagement or any celebration there. Elizabeth the manager is the female Ebenezer scrooge of space. She makes scrooge look kind and flexible. If you need any additional space then you paid for she will come and yell at you and your guest for taking another table when there are plenty around and your guests are buying extra food and drinks like a regular guest. Very unpleasant manager and disrespectful. I would avoid this place for all happy occasions.

Stone Tower staff are very nice and helpful. The buildings are gorgeous with TONS of seating and the views are stunning. You are 100% paying for the experience here, not the quality.
This winery is VERY expensive. We paid $15 for a tasting which is pretty pricey but I figured the wine quality would reflect that. Glasses are anywhere from $9-12/glass. LWe also noticed the wines were labeled with "Wild Boar" and only 1 on the tasting menu was labeled "Estate". I asked the difference and the employee said that only the Estate was their grapes. So.... I had paid $15 for a tasting of California wine. I was pretty disappointed as I love Virginia wine. That being said, the wines tasted strong of alcohol, like they'd been open 3 days earlier and also tasted watered down. We were very disappointed. Additionally, a small baguette that I could've eaten entirely on my own was $4. Things added up quickly.
I've been here before and don't recall the wines tasting so poorly. I think there are a lot of other nearby smaller wineries that have higher quality and are less expensive.

When you first arrive you will just love the views!!! We then went in for our wine tasting and they did not rush us through our tasting, Everyone was very knowledgeable. We purchased a bottle to share out on one of their several sitting areas. Just sit back relax and enjoy!!

We have been her several times and really enjoy every aspect of our stay. The scenery is stunning, but the wine and the vibe are what keep us coming back. Mary gave us a cellar tasting tour and kept checking back on us throughout the afternoon, and based on our discussion put together a thoughtful case of wine for us at the end of our day. All handcrafted and small batched, there seems to be so much more flavor to their wines than the large label. Love their Chardonnay . Stone Tower stops their fermentation process on this wine short of the malolactic stage giving their chardonnay less of a mouth / buttery feel. They make a wife range of wines, including a fantastic port. They also have wood fired pizzas and share plates. A must if you're in the area.

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here. Everyone is extremely welcoming. There are kids playing and running all over. Very relaxing atmosphere. We were here for hours and had a blast. The views are fantastic. Can't wait to be back.....

Really like this place, one of our favorites in Loudoun County.
First off, this place is BIG. Something for everyone. Two sides with two different parking areas and vibes (Adults only vs Kid/Dog friendly). Bring your own food, or buy there. Picnic on your own blanket or nice indoor or outdoor tables.
Wines are above avg in VA. Views are great.

In the US, our first thought when it comes to domestic wine is California and the Northwest. As a result, my expectations were lower than the experience proved. Truth be told, someone did say that this winery does buy some grapes from the West Coast, but still I think the majority of the wines are grown and made in VA and they were really good. The setting is beautiful, and the winery has constructed beautiful buildings and patios overlooking the vineyard. A very worthy destination.

I had some friends with very young children come visit on a rainy day and we thought it would be a complicated day to enjoy given the weather. Once arrived, we went to the barn which is pet and children friendly. If you go to the tasting room, it is adults only. Either way, the experience was a great one. Despite pouring rain there is still room to enjoy the atmosphere and somehow even though we were first and there was rain, there were a lot of people who proceeded to arrive later on which was surprising. Great place regardless of the weather.

We went here with our son and daughter-in-law as our Christmas gift, and it was wonderful. We took the estate tour which showed us the wine-making process and the huge processing vats and some of the barrel rooms. We got to taste about eight different wines, including one right from the barrel. The building itself is a real treasure with beautiful furnishings and lovely views over the orchard and countryside. We had a tasting of their estate wine selections in a beautiful room around a wonderful round table with a delicious tray of charcuterie in the center. After the tour we went out on the deck and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery that led all the way to the mountains in the distance. The tour was fantastic, but it is also a great place to go and relax with a glass of wine while enjoying the surroundings.

We were a group of 10 which included several young children. This winery has an adults only side and a less elegant kid/dog side. There are two different parking areas for each side. We have visited the adults only side and the atmosphere is totally different...think happy hour scene. Since we had children with us, we went to the dogs. We arrived about 12:30 and just about every one of the numerous couches and chairs were taken. We were able to snag a few chairs which required "repositioning" Stone Towers furniture arrangement. We got the last seats. If you arrive later, you might want to bring your own chairs or blankets. The children immediately took off to play on the field. There are fences separating the adult section. Of course, the boys immediately found a hole in the fence and were ready to explore. We brought our own food, water and drinks for the kids and our DD. The lines were way long to purchase wine or to do a tasting. It took us about 15 minutes to do either. Later in the day, the bathroom line was so long, I gave up after waiting 20 minutes. The wine tasting cost is $15.00 per person. It is a good tasting and worth the cost. We visited on the first 70 degree, sunny weekend day and expected to see crowds. Get there before 11:30 to snag a comfy couch.

I went to Stone Tower Winery with a group of lovely women and had an amazing time. We enjoyed different wines, a charcuterie board, pizza, truffle fries, and their mulled wine. We started eating outside, but the wind got the best of us, so we moved indoors. I wasn’t able to take good pictures of the food and wine, but I’ll definitely be back to do so. I would recommend this venue for any and all events! Great vibes, amazing customer service, and the wine and food were on point, not to mention the beautiful views! What more can a girl ask for?

Let's start by admitting Virginia wine isn't all that great; but this is a beautiful vista to visit and take friends. You can bring a picnic or buy a limited amount of snacks on site. It's vast, with rolling hills and beautiful scenery.

This Winery is a must see and do! Very beautiful and popular. I went for a wine tasting on a Sunday afternoon in February. The wines were delicious. I will definitely be taking my guests there when they come to town.

We took a day trip down to the Leesburg area to go to some wineries and Stone Tower was the first on our list. I used to live in VA so I've been to several vineyards when I lived there, but this is the first time I have been to Stone Tower. This place is amazing! There is so much space there that even with a wedding, a 30th b-day party, and two other smaller parties there, we had lots of space to be comfortable and plenty of space to drink our wine and eat our cheese. It was a rainy Saturday so not many people ventured outside but how can you not go out and enjoy those views! We are already planning on heading back when the sun will be out.
I have read some reviews on Stone Tower in which people complain about the tastings being too high. I would say that you should always check out the tasting price before you go to any winery so you know what to expect. Is $15 a bit pricey for a tasting? Perhaps. But it's not just the amount of wine you get in a tasting, but the overall experience you get along with some education on the land, the grapes, the wine, and the entire winery itself. Enjoy the moment and cough up the 15 bucks! That being said...I was quite pleased with the tasting and we always got more when we asked. I'm not a huge white wine fan, but the Sauvignon Blanc is absolutely delicious! Definitely heavier on the grapefruit taste and a very crisp, smooth finish. It's under their Wild Boar label and this one is worthy of purchasing a bottle to take home. My favorite wine from Stone Tower is the Cabernet Franc. I am typically a Pinot Noir fan and have a running list on my iPhone of Pinots that I have tried in various places. The Pinot here is good, but not good enough to make my list...not that I am the end all be all of wine drinkers but I wasn't jumping up and down for it. The Cabernet Franc I was jumping up and down for! Earthy, scents/tastes of tobacco, and a very small vanilla finish make this a winner in my books! You can tell that it spent some time in the oak barrel but not so much time where it was obnoxious. It's a 2 hour drive to ST from our house and I would make the drive just to enjoy another glass of the Cabernet Franc. Like the Sauv Blank, it is also under the Wild Boar label. I had a glass while we were there and bought a bottle to take home with me. My only regret is not buying more than 1 bottle!
It's a beautiful winery and every member of the staff that we came across was incredibly nice and very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the winery. They have a little store in the same area as the tasting room that sells cheese and other things in there. I bought a few bricks so we could sit and enjoy the wine, the views, and some food. I'm definitely looking forward to a return trip and wil be sure to bring more of the Cab Franc home next time!

This used to be my favorite winery in Virginia - I’ve introduced it to multiple people. In the last few months it has changed substantially - cutting the main house (with the best views and seating) to members only, and a “lesser than” attitude if you are not a member.
Unaccommodating service with an air that they’d be completely fine without your business. In the middle of a time when I try to support local businesses, this would seem unwise.
I drove my guests almost 2 hours to the location to feel looked down upon.
I hope that this changes soon and it becomes the winery I used to know and love.
Nice view, nice wine, nice food. But I won’t be back anytime soon, unfortunately.

We had purchased 2 wine tastings. The tastings were a bit on the pricier side around $42 per person. However, the price was worth it. We received a 2 hour wine tasting with 9 wines and the best, most friendly sommelier, Joe. Joe was knowledgable and didnt make us feel intimated. He welcomed questions and overall was fun. The wines were high quality and some of the strongest I have tried. I definitely was not able to drive after our tasting but my husband was. If you end up booking a tasking, make sure you buy some of their homemade pizza and plan on staying a while so you can sober up. BEST PART OF OUR VISIT WAS JOE. Thank you Joe!!!

Friends took us here while visiting. The sparkling was decent but the Rosé of Nebbiolo was terrific. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it being it wasn’t from Italy but ended up buying a couple bottles. The food was a great plus. Melena was a great resource for picking out some wines for us as well. Highly recommend this place for weekend lunch.

The sparkling wine was so good, we took a few bottles home for gifts. All the wines were superb, and the staff was amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend you visit Stone Tower Winery; you won't be disappointed.

This is a winery with a lovely view over the Loudoun County hills. They have two tasting rooms. If the weather is good, there is pleny of patio space. It is also dog friendly for outdoors. A bottle of white wine was $48. Glasses were about $15. We had Sunday brunch, and there is definitely room for improvement in terms of the kitchen : quiche was too salty and overcooked.
Tot fries were dried and overcooked as well. Service was good.

We showed up with a group of 18 people, they had ample seating outside, when we arrived the host told us she couldn’t serve us because group was too large we indicated to him because one in our party was a member and there ample seating outside, first they said no and then they asked us for $200 to be able to sit at the table, I feel like that’s extortion. The manager was rude, after reading other reviews it appears their wine isn’t good and it’s expensive.

I have been here a couple of times for fund raisers and it's a very nice venue with lots of rooms and a cellar area. Would be nice for a wedding as well. The wine is very good, pets are not allowed.

Stone Tower Winery is a fantastic location! With panoramic views from any of their tasting rooms of the endless vineyards. A Great time to go is August/Fall during their "picking season"; not only for the atmosphere, but the beautiful Fall Virginia weather. I recommend doing a tasting, and hearing the education and background of each of their wines. Enjoy your trip!

We consider getting at least one bottle of wine at local wineries the cost of an afternoon of ambiance. We always enjoyed this winery at the original barn which is cozy with small patios and grassy area (which they encourage families, kids, and dogs to use). The new building is for 21 and over, no kids, or dogs. The place is incredible with several areas other than the main floor such as the tower room or the lower banquet room and bar type room. The patio between the wine making building and the wine tasting building has a fire pit and the patio at the lower level also has a fire pit. There is a room under the tower room which has wine and food for sale. My wife said the food prices are very reasonable compared to grocery store. Then there's a big tasting bar in the main room and off of that is an owner's sitting room.

Went as a short daytrip from DC and the wines were very good! Tastings can be shared which was nice. Bottles are on the pricier side.

We did a tasting with Stacy. She is fantastic. She’s very friendly and knows a lot about Stone Tower wines. I’m so glad she did our tasting. We had a bottle of the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon. We split a sausage and mushroom pizza freshly made at the outdoor tent. We always go to the building that only serves adults. The other building allows dogs and kids. We had a great time.

This is a beautiful spot . The views are spectacular. The wine tasting was good. The young man was pleasant and knowledgeable. The day was cold and windy but everyone was having fun.

Amazing views, delicious wine, and tasty pizza!
We were blown away by the service we received from DIANE!! She is one of the best we’ve encountered at the 128 Virginia wineries we’ve been to.
Yes we are members. We reserved a table outside and it didn’t require a fee. We got a bottle of wine and 2 pizzas. The view, the service, and luckily the weather made it a fantastic Saturday afternoon. They are making more wine with their own Virginia grapes now.

Some might say, the best wine in VA is not saying a lot, but there are some good wines here, but the unusual thing about Stone Tower is all the wines are good. Tim the winemaker at Stone Tower brings great international experience with him and it shows in the wines. The wines have great complexity and structure. One taste and you know these wines are special. The tasting room is very nice and for a new winery, they are doing some great events. I am sure that the future bodes well for this winery and wine maker combo!

They definitely have the best venue in Loudoun county! They do not have a lot of their own wine, but the grapes they ship in make some awesome wines! It's worth the price, their two estate reserve wines they had this year are so good!!! We became members here, and there are so many perks with them staying open longer on Friday evenings, to fun member only events. They do have two separate spaces, one for kids and animals and one for adults only. So glad we joined this vineyard right when they opened!!!

Beautiful mountain top winery. Tasting patio overlooks the vineyards. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wine tasting has been reimagined to meet todays needs and everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves. The wines we tasted were OK.

The harvest dinner at Stone Tower was a thing of beauty. The stunning new tasting room is unofficially open for business and the dinner followed the next week by a birthday party was a great way to give wine club members a look. Dinner was perfectly done with amazing wine pairings picked by Tim, one of the most talented winemakers in VA. We were introduced to the new assistant wine maker who came to Stone Tower from from Chrysalis, a winery known for decent, not great wines. He is in great hands learning from Tim.

This was the second winery we visited this day. The buildings, patio area, and views are beautiful. We liked the wine offerings. Our overall experience would have been very good until ten minutes after the winery officially closed . The sun had just set behind the hill and my party was standing preparing to leave when we were approached by a Male staff member who stated "we are closed, please move on".
We all looked at each other with disbelief.
There were many other customers still around, some sitting, finishing their wine.
Will not return and would not recommend .

Mediocre with a frat party vibe. As many other reviews mentioned, long line for bathrooms, though it looks like they are currently building more. Food has a cafeteria feel/taste and is over priced. Wine is sub par but we understand this is not Napa. Young wine with heavy alcohol taste should be offset with better pricing, but it’s clear young drunks have found this to be a watering hole. Beautiful property but we will pass.

Even though Northern Virginia is dotted with numerous wineries these days, it's rare to find one that has excellent wine, excellent customer service AND an excellent environment. This winery is absolutely beautiful, with comfortable furniture to sit on, indoor and out. My favorite is the Sanglier Noble (red blend). DELICIOUS! I recommend this winery to all of my friends..

We stopped in close to noon on a cold, drizzly Saturday. We were amazed at how packed it was. The building is lovely and inviting. Many people had brought food and were buying bottles of wine to enjoy in the cozy seating area.
Tastings are a stand up affair at the bar. For $15, we shared one tasting of more than 6 of their wines. While most for not to my taste, I suspect locals enjoy for its atmosphere and views. Apparently, it's a big hot spot for weddings and events. They had a small shop where you could purchase boxes of crackers and cheeses to make your picnic and a food truck outside. In better weather, the view from the patio would have been wonderful.
The lady who conducted our tasting was knowledgeable and did a great job.

Went with a group of girls - had an excellent tasting. Staff was very friendly. Two tasting buildings. One is more causal/homey feel and the other is a little nicer with seating on an upstairs patio - great views. There is also lots of outdoor seating. The winery is overall located on beautiful grounds with gorgeous views. lots of parking.
only negative was: We were there during the second weekend of September and it was unseasonably hot for the time of year and the buildings were both hot - there was not good air circulation or air conditioning..and this is coming from a humid-Houston native.

The tasting is $15 but it is very extensive. They explain the wines in great detail and the Rosé is amazing. There aren't many snack options but the view and the seating is incredible.

My friends and I came here to celebrate Mother’s Day together.
We came on a Friday afternoon and it was very lively. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was very good and the wine was tasty
The surroundings were absolutely beautiful.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was beautiful out. We sat on the deck and talked and relaxed for the afternoon enjoying our snacks we had packed. The wine was good, a little dry than I care for, I like sweeter tasting wines. The experience and the atmosphere was very nice!

The tasting was good as was the pizza we ordered. The particular day we were there, they had fresh cookies, M&M's and tasty fresh roasted Virginia Peanuts. They were all delicious. We tasted 6 delicious wines and ended up purchasing 4 bottles of Wild Boar Riesling and Estate Hogback Mountain Merlot and Cab Sauv blend.

when we went in early May, there was construction. I did not think it was the prettiest winery in the area. We did the large tasting in the barrel room and it was nicely done. However, they seem to use mostly CA grapes so their wine does not have that unique virgina taste. The tasting room person does not seem too knowledgeable about the VA wine scene since he was imported in from CA. He was wonderful, but in Virginia its a different experience. Virginia has good wine, but not at this place. Also, the buildings will be beautiful when its done but they seem to want to cater to the large crowds and the weddings. I plan to go to the more authentic wineris in the dilapidated barns that have been slowly improving the VA wines for the last 20 years and then maybe try this place in another 4/5 years or so. I just thought it was silly that they built a stone tower in the estate to match the name. This is a good place for a picnic.

We were really looking forward to this winery. We heard the wines were great, however there are constantly events going on and both barns were very crowded to where we were shoulder to shoulder with other patrons and were unable to even be served a glass of wine. Perhaps a better spot to visit midweek! Will try again if ever in the area midweek.

This is a large winery in Leesburg with two separate areas. The tower is where the adults without kids hang out and the barn is where adults with children go. Both buildings are nice with good wine selections. I suggest you pack a picnic with breads, cheeses, and crackers and plan to spend the day. If you don’t want the hassle of packing your own food, there is is wood-fired pizza available and even though we didn’t get any it looked and smelled delicious.

If you are looking for a family and PET friendly place to enjoy a picnic and some wine this is the place. They have 3 buildings and a tasting Room. One of the buildings is adult only. There is a family and pet friendly area with picnic tables. Bring your own picnic stuff or you can buy snacks there. There is also a Food Truck which has BBQ. Water and soda is also available. On weekends it get very crowded very fast and parking is sometimes a chore. The also have weddings there so that may impact the crowds as well. It is truly enjoyable and a great way to kick back. It is off RT 15 just south of Leesburg, Va. They have indoor and outdoor seating. ENJOY

We were stunned when we arrived. This place is gorgeous. The wine is excellent. The people are super friendly. They are a large winery and get lots of visitors, so you can start to feel like a number at times, but they do take their time during tastings and member events. Plus, their food is fabulous!

Loudoun County has exploded from 10 wineries 10 years ago, to now 40 and counting. Stone Tower is one of the newer ones and has done everything right. The property has been in the family for many years and comprises the whole top of Hog Back Mountain, giving the winery beautiful vistas and sunsets overlooking the vinyards. They are just about finished building a very large intricate complex of buildings that seems to have been built especially for venues such as weddings, corporate functions, an/or any large group function in addition to wine tastings. There is the original barn vat stucture that serves as a tasting room when the newest tasting room is busy or has a private event. Then there's the building with the additional large vats for wine production which is connected to the newest large two story building for the wedding venues etc. by an underground tunnel which also serves as barrel storage. Both the tunnel and the vat building have private areas that can be reserved to have private tastings for a small number of people. We only live 1 1/2 mile away and have become most fond of this facility. They know how to do everything just right and have plenty of staff to make it run smoothly. Helpful hint the road up to the winery is a dirt road so if you have an SUV use that vehicle and don't wash your car before you go. I'm not a wine expert, but like their dry sweeter whites. My husband is the red wine drinker/expert and is becomming their favorite fan. We are members of their Cru Cllub (purchase 3 bottles quarterly) and you get invited the occaisional Friday night events, 6-9 pm, after the winery closes to the public. Stone Tower does these up right as well, free fruit, cheese and crackers and they have most recently been bringing in gourmet food trucks for you to purchase to accompany your dinner. Win, Win.

Still one of my favorite wineries in the area. Great views, food and the staff is amazing. Came here on a hot Sunday afternoon. My friend and I had the pork shoulder, chicken wings, cornbread and the gouda mac and cheese. Do yourself a favor and order the mac and cheese. The smokey gouda cheese with the thick macaroni had some great texture. I saw at least 10 different groups order it and I knew I had to. The wings and the pork were delicious. Get the bbq and vinegar sauce to dip as well. Drink wise the Pursuit and Sauvignon blanc were my favorites. They have wine flights and the tastings on about to come back.
It started raining for about an hour so everyone had to rush inside. Even with the umbrellas if you find yourself under the heaters that provides some extra cover. They put up fences around grapes and other building so you can't venture out there and take pictures like you used to be able to. But with the way the seats are arranged you can still get the beautiful views. Highly want this winery if you want great wine and fresh bbq. Family and dog friendly environment.

We have visited Stone Towers several times since in opened. I must say our previous visit was not as nice as our most recent visit. We had children with us last time and the experience is just not as good. This time, we went to pick up wine and also had a tasting. Bill was our wine guide. He was entertaining and was full of information about the current and former wine selections. The atmosphere was so much nicer during the week. I'm afraid that Stone Towers suffers from being too popular on the weekend. We vowed to go back...for a mid week visit.

An expansive winery with lots of seating options, separated family and pet areas, indoor and outdoor seating and multiple tasting areas and great views. A big place that can get a big crowd. Some snacks available and vendors come on the premises with other food selections. You can bring your own picnic.

In what has become a Loudoun county wine exclusive, Stone Tower hosted their fourth wine paring meal last night. What a wonderful experience. The food was very good and the wine parings were perfect, thanks to the expertise of Tim and Sarah. With a beautiful night outdoors, the dinner could not have been better. In a couple of short years, Stone Tower winery has become THE Loudoun county winery.

Excellent location for a large group function such as a wedding reception. We had probably 250 people attending and the dinner area seated fine and with good weather the bar area can also easily extend into the outdoors. Wine was very good.

Firstly the location itself is great. Very thoughtfully put together. There are 2 sections separated by a middle open field. You have a tasting building which is family friends. Kids and Dogs...Really welcoming for everyone. On the other end its an Adults only tasting building. Both are large and spacious. The adults only building is staggered in many levels inside and out and you can find your own nook in the corner or out on the lawns. Plenty of places to sit. The place is filled with benches and tables. They actually had a outside vendor food truck too....It's that busy on Saturday. It had good views of the vineyards and after parking my car next to a tiny Fiat500 I felt like I was in Tuscany. Almost. lol
Now for the more important part. The Wine. It was overall well above average and the Pinot Noir was surprisingly good for a region. The Rose was my favorite. crispy and fruity. Of course the tasting experience was kinda a assembly line. Very busy and the pours were quick and if you really wanted to know more about the wine or winemaker or anything in general you need to be assertive to ask. Coz its so busy..If you don't ask they won't think about telling.

Rarely do I get a chance to brag about nearly every wine on the tasting menu, however, this winery is, hands down, a popular spot for all the right reasons!! This winery has a view, plenty of seating on the patio & lawn, with 2 food trucks - these are delish if you haven't had lunch.
The $15 tasting menu has about 7 wines on the list, however, our pourer/sommelier extraordinaire, Susie, generously included a couple premium extras, 1 turned out to be the 'star of the show'. My scoring includes a zero to five rating, 5 being the highest. Only 1 scored below a 3.5 - please know I'm a strict scorer. Spectacular service, and a discount for 3 bottles - if you're prone to wine club membership, look out, this might be one for you! Keep in mind, wine is subject to every pallet, you may appreciate them differently than me. A takeaway, outstanding business proposition - grew first vines in 2009 - thus, young vines/vinification/winery/staffing - still winning a 91 in Wine Spectator and awards, you may enjoy being the judge. :)
Wild Boar Rose Cuvee, 4.5

Cheers!

Beautiful place, the scenery was amazing. The wine was very good so is the food. The staff are very friendly and the service is amazing I would definitely recommend it

Stone Tower winery is a bit difficult to find - winding dirt roads - but well worth the visit. The location, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, is peaceful and open to adults and families for picnics. Lite food selections are also available. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating - very comfortable - and umbrellas for shading on the various patios.
The tastings offer a nice variety of wines and bottles or glasses are available for purchase.
It is a delightful destination!

This a terrific winery about a 45 minute drive from DC and Arlington, VA. Sprawling picnic area including a family with kids zone, lots of parking, pretty and crowded tasting room. My son and his girlfriend already did a tasting on a prior visit, so we purchased two cold bottles of sparkling pink cuvée, ate the subs we packed, and enjoyed a lunch at one of their many deck tables! Definitely a popular wedding, birthday or other celebrations location.

We’ve been coming here for several years now, even had a nice private party a few years ago. We really only enjoy coming here because we are members and get access to the members only area. It was so very nice to see them police this area better over the past year or so by keeping others out and asking last name when people claim to be members.
Their wines are still really good! Even though they’re extremely expensive for “VA” wines (and we frequent RdV) with grapes that come from all over.
The venue is beautiful and spread out, so even when it is really busy, there is usually a place to be found to sit & sip.

Beautiful place and views. It was surprisingly crowded given the time of year, but the place is big enough to handle it. The wine was very good. We saw the barn after we had done our tasting in the main building and wished we had time to spend there too.

A great location, delicious wines, great staff but more in the mid-range to higher price segment. Offered food is pretty good but expectetd a larger selection. All in all a wonderful location to visit.

Beautiful land, high end tasting room with great furniture ( because the owners also own a furniture store) and nice wines. Close to Leesburg. Great event building makes you try to think of a good reason to have a big party. Great place to hang out and enjoy the weekend!

We had a cocktail reception for a business conference here. The winery visit was brief, but informative. The reception was lovely, with nice "heavy" hors d'oeuvres (learned that that means you can make them serve for dinner); very tasty. Pleasant service. A good place for this type of gathering.

Less than 50 miles from DC, great escape. We were so happy to find this after a wonderful visit to Oatwoods Historic Home and Gardens next door, definitely a good visit too. Place was very crowded and we were going to leave, when someone pulled out near entrance and we figured meant for us to go, so we parked and went in. A local pizza place had a truck and we ordered their veggie pizza which was delicious and hit the spot, we got a bottle of the sparkling rose, which was very good. However, there were a lot of people with big dogs, don't know why people want to bring them, some were growling at other dogs, owners warning parents to not let their kids near dogs, dogs moving in on our space to lie down where we were eating in the shade, etc. We're dog lovers, but it was a bit too much in this place where you come to chill. Many families with kids too, which is great for that, just think there should be some limit on how many dogs are there, some folks came with two big dogs. Then we found the 21+ area and it was nirvana. Much mellower, hardly any dogs, the place to go if you really want to chill. Think you have to get there early for both parts of winery, got very filled up and was hard to find a place in the shade. Service was so courteous, even thought they were very busy. Will come back, but also want to explore more wineries that might be less crowded.

My wife and I dropped off our 13 year old son for his birthday party at the nearby paintball place and then visited this winery, with a really cozy tasting room that was romantic but also included children of all ages. The ciabatta bread was delicious and the wine is really good. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This place is all what others have reviewed. Very slick operation, huge with beautiful grounds. Enjoyed all the wines and bought a couple sparklers (brut cuvee and rose) which were crisp and tasty.
Place is a total scene - seems like maybe if you live in Tysons area, you go to mall to hang out. If you live in Leesburg, you go to Stone Tower to hang out? Many picnicking families indeed. I love how it's dog-friendly and the barn is very cozy. Seems to be something for everyone here, unless it's intimacy you crave! Do check this place out, but be prepared for the throngs. And yes, don't wash the car as I did. Caked in dust from the road up the mountain!

The road to get up to the Stone Tower Winery is rocky, but it leads you to a winery with a great selection of wines and pristine views. You could spend the whole day just staring out over the vineyards. Gorgeous place to spend an afternoon.

Following a state cross country meet, we stumbled upon this amazing location. Terrific service, impressive sparkling wines, and stunning views.

Went here with my daughter on a sunny April Saturday afternoon. We did not do a tasting, just bought different glasses of wine to enjoy on the patio. There was music, and sunshine to go with our wine which made for a very fun, relaxing afternoon. The wines were very good. The winery was packed since it was so nice. I appreciate that the Tower Tasting room is for 21 and up, and there is a nice tasting room, picnic area, and lawn for families to enjoy. This is a very upscale winery. The view from the Tower Tasting room and the patio is breath-taking. There is a pond, the vineyards, and the mountains as a backdrop. The only down side is that there is a dirt road to get out to it. There is ample parking once you get there. I would definitely return when I'm back in the area.

Mediocre at best! While I don't consider myself an expert on wineries, I've been to a quite a few over the past couple of years. We started doing more of these when Covid came around. This was an awkward experience. They have the wine and food area separated, which is OK I guess. Both wine and food areas automatically charge a 20% tip, which you can cancel, but the machine "froze a bit" during both areas, so I left it alone. What irritated me is that you get no service, the food you have to pick up yourself, you have to clean the table yourself after you're done, including take the trash to the trash cans, and the wine area, selling way over-priced wines (for a Mom & Pop place), the gentleman (Alex), and I use the term loosely, has an attitude. When I asked if they had a sweeter wine, he looked at me like I had two heads and stated that all Rose's are dry, which def. isn't true. Further, when I bough the most expensive Cab on the menu, which wasn't a cab at all, but a mix, after opening the bottle and one single pour, the bottle had a ton of sediment which again, the "expert" started arguing about instead of just replacing the bottle. The table next to us had the same bottle, and no sediment at all.
Food-wise: terrible! The $25 meat and cheese platter has one meat (proscuiotto) which is about 4 slices, some chewy pickles and some olives, and jam. We later, after finishing the dish, found out that they forgot to give us the crackers. The lady had left the crackers on the serving area, since she couldn't bother to bring it to our table.. on a $250 tab, which we were more or less forced to pay a $50 tip. To walk 45 seconds to drop off our crackers which they forgot was out of the question. We also tried the chicken sandwiches, stale and tasteless, the hot dog had a pound of onions on it, the berry and chèvre bowl was basically a bowl of spinach with four berries... Just terrible.
In summation: close to $600 later, we went home with our tails between our legs. Plenty of other places you can try that have waiters and provide an actual service, and don't charge these prices. Again, money isn't the issue, but there is alway a basis for comparison. You can't and frankly shouldn't offer beer for champagne prices.

Wonderful experience at Stone Tower Winery. Wine tasting (with Alex) was excellent and the wines surprisingly good. Enjoyed a nice BBQ lunch and the grounds of the winery were absolutely beautiful. A wedding was taking place which was a nice touch to the end of our afternoon.

Will not be going back. They are now charging *** $10.00 *** per person just to enter their establishment. To taste their wine even if you are a Member!!!!
So I will be going elsewhere to enjoy my wine and not have to pay an "entry" fee. This is being greedy in my eyes!!!
Many other wineries in the area, NO ENTRY FEE and you can Bring Your OWN Food.
Stoney Tower being too restrictive on not allowing people to bring in FOOD and now charging $10.00 per person just to enter!!!!
Greed comes to mind.
What a shame.

Really good wine, nice food selection, and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating make Stone Tower Winery a good selection for a wine tour!

My family had a great time sampling wine with host Julie in the barn area. We even got a taste of sparkling wine made in Burgundy beyond our official tasting menu. Julie was very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the winery. Thank you!

Took a picnic lunch on a free mid week day to Stone Tower and purchased a bottle of wine. Many good patio tables to choose from. They offer snack food but don't mind bringing in picnic food so long as you buy their wine.

Beautiful winery - very scenic and picturesque. We had lunch which was a nice option. We went early so it wasn't crowded yet.

Taste 7 wines with all your questions answered about wines but especially Virginia grapes and their Bordeaux pickings. Great all year round, especially when it's warm out. Very popular for weddings.

Wonderful place to spend a Sunday afternoon. The road up to the winery was picturesque and we felt like we had discovered a secret place. The building was beautiful and the views were lovely. The staff was knowledgeable and the wines were pleasantly tasty. Thanks for a lovely and relaxing time.

We made a side trip early in the day before attending a wedding later. This is a beautiful winery! Be prepared to drive down a very long gravel road ( 1.5 miles ) to reach the winery. The setting is lovely! This is a large place and on a Saturday very busy. The main tasting room is in a gorgeous barn like building. Inside was rustic with soaring ceilings and decorated beautifully. There are tables inside. Many seating option outside but if you hope to grab one with an umbrella go early! On this day they were grabbed first and shade was scarce. Wine Tasting is $15 @ person. Tastings were generous. You have the chance to buy by glass or bottle without tasting also. Plan to pack a picnic of treats. They do sell foods but many choose to bring. We will return but on a week day as was suggested by staff.

Packed! First class facility, wines, and family that owns! One of the most beautiful settings in LOUDOUN and perhaps State. A must visit!

Beautiful spot. Made for fun. Great vistas.
Have some wine enjoy the food and have a great time.
You can hangout snide or outside.
Go on a sunny day!!

Stone Tower Winery is a quickly developing winery. The owners are continuing to expand their vineyard every year, and they wait patiently until their vines are ready for their reveal. Subsequently, they have a few estate whites and have not yet released their estate reds. They cleverly have released their Wild Boar label to keep up with the demand as they are wines made by the winemaker from grapes that are not from their vineyard. It is refreshing that they willingly offer this information, and it is greatly appreciated those there specifically for the wine. It's hard to find a Virginia winery where I like their wines from top to bottom of the list - Stone Tower is one of the very few. Whether it's their estate or Wild Boar line, their wines are well developed and balanced. We have been club members since the beginning, and we have never been disappointed. The facilities are also incredible. If you are looking for a winery to wow your out of town friends and make them comfortable, this is the one. During our visit in August, there are two distinct areas to visit, which are directed by signs upon arrival. The barn is for general visitors. This is where there is the most parking and lots of tasting bars in their beautifully restored barn. There are also lots of seating and tables throughout the first and second levels of the barn, as well as outside. The décor is fabulous as owner Kristy has a great eye! Down the hill is the newly build production facility, which was just being finished when we arrived. As of this visit, it was for members only. There were two tasting rooms open for wine club members, and it was incredible to explore this absolutely beautiful building. There was live music and also food vendors. The winery offers their wine and various finger foods to be consumed on the property, which I guarantee you will want to do when you are there. It's hard to leave with such great wine and scenery!

Beautiful venue! The fly's were terrible in the tasting room today!!! Had to keep swatting away! Disgusting!!

I've been here several times during warmer months and sat with my children and friends in the outside family section. We all enjoy it. The kids have plenty of grassy areas to play outside, the views are wonderful, and the wines are excellent.
I just held a small party for my friend's birthday (9 women) in January. I held it upstairs in the Harvest Barn. The party was for the middle of the day on a Thursday, so definitely a slow time for the winery. I called a few weeks before to reserve a table and couch area. I was told by a friend that it's around $100, which is well worth it in my opinion. When I called for my reservation of 10, I was told that I didn't need to reserve a table for that many on a Thursday. When I got there and had started to set up, I was approached about my reservation. Somewhere along the line, there was a miscommunication. Nonetheless, the staff were fairly friendly. One lady helped me pick wines for the party. Several of the wines were different than I had tasted over the Summer. I thought they were all delicious. The tables upstairs are perfect for a casual party and I really like that outside food is allowed.

When I was taking one of my friends to a few of the wineries in the area, I decided to take her to Stone Tower and to give them a second chance. I am not sure why I did my previous tasting at the Harvest Barn (kid friendly tasting area), but this time we were at the main tasting building and it was a buzz with activity as it looked like they were having a wedding/reception there (pictures were taking place amongst the vines and tables were being set up). My friend and I were the first tasters of the day and a very nice young man helped us with our tasting. He was not sure about a few of the questions I asked about the wines, but was gracious and friendly throughout. Only one of the wines on the tasting menu is made with just their grapes (their Ameritage blend). The rest is made from of a mix of their grapes and grapes from all over. It was a nice tasting and I am happy I gave them another chance.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon on a holiday weekend with friends. We were very impressed with the facilities. All new buildings and awesome, huge outdoor patio area with live music. There are two tasting buildings, one 21+ the other for families. We were in the adult location.
This is a great place to buy a bottle or glasses and sit around one of their many tables inside or outside with friends. Scenery is beautiful. Tastings were tough because of the crowd- the tasting bar was very crowded and hard to find a spot. So, if you're more into a slow, purposeful tasting, you're better off visiting during the week. But if you want a fun, social scene with friends on a weekend, you can't beat the facilities, setup, vibe, and view.
Also, BBQ food truck on site was great.

While visiting friends we ventured out to the Stone Tower Winery. What a great find! Even though the weather didn’t cooperate (light snow and fog) the scenery was still beautiful. Over 85 acres of grounds and can’t wait to go back and see it in the summer or fall. It was reminiscent of our trip a few years ago to Napa. While we didn’t partake in the outdoor seating areas they looked ample and comfortable with great views. We found a great bottle of red wine to snuggle up with next to the fireplace. The staff was excellent, special shout out to Colleen who provided a tour of the facility. With around 300 wineries in Virginia, this one should definitely be on your list.

What is the draw for the many visitors at the winery in a Saturday afternoon in September. It’s not the wine because it’s average and pricey. Is just to be seen or be part of the crowd? I can list two wineries that have better reasonably priced wine just 10 short minutes from here that we’re quiet the wine tastings comfortable and intimate with a personal touch.
The wine is average for Virginia. The whites are uninspired and the reds are not balanced. I will not gripe about the prices but I do not hesitate to pay $90 for a bottle of wine if it is that good. But not here.
I recommend to all those minions that were 3 deep at the tasting bar to drive 10 minutes further west to 8 Chains or Doukenie and experience wine and a wine tasting that you will truly enjoy.

We really enjoy this winery.
One thing we enjoy with Stonetower is that they offer an adults only area. I have seen them nicely direct patrons, who may have overlooked the sign, to enjoy the winery at the designated area.
I am by no means a wine connoisseur, but I do enjoy their wine (meaning it isn't acidic like some). I have just recently (within the past few years) acquired a taste for wine. My husband grew up in Napa, so he is more familiar with wine. He enjoys the wine at Stonetower.

My friends do a wine club here, so we came for a tasting. The views are gorgeous, the stone tower is beautiful and the wines were yummy! Of course, we bought some bottles. We will be back.

We recently held our 50th wedding anniversary party at Stone Tower, and it was a huge success. The venue is one of the best places around for hosting an event. The staff is great, very cooperative and accommodating. We rented a barn as we had over 100 people, but it never felt crowded as the grounds in and around the barn are huge and inviting. The wine and excellent, and they worked closely with our caterer, relieving us of many details.

I have been visiting this winery for 5 years and love it. My favorite space is the small barn because it is wonderfully intimate and cosy. The larger building has better views but I wish more attention had been paid to sound proofing. Unfortunately the acoustics make the space very loud. But seating areas are comfortable and everyone is enjoying themselves so much.
Come for the food (or bring your own), meet friends and enjoy the beautiful wine and views in this part of Loudoun County.

I have to say I was a tad disappointed with this winery about arrival and during my tasting. As their tasting room is closed for renovations, they are doing all the tastings in the Barn. The Barn was very nice and well laid out though a little breezy and cold with the doors being open and no sun inside. They had several tasting area available, but they were chaotic. Instead of having a set group of people they were serving, they kept adding new people as they showed up. This lead to chaos and confusion. Also they did not have enough workers for each of the tasting areas. The wines were okay, most on the heavy side. Sadly they did not have food available for in between to clean you palate. However it was Wine Club pick-up while I was there so they did have some snacks out for them so I was able to eat something after each wine to help refresh my taste buds. I will probably not be back to this winery as I enjoyed my tasting at Fabbioli Cellars much better and they had a system which worked.

We loved this winery. Good wine. Absolutely beautiful setting. They've done an amazing job. Go spend the afternoon- you'll love it! We are anxious to go back!

A wow place. We the wines were excellent. The price of the tasting is reasonable but the price of the wine are quite high - these run from $28 to $68. But, the wines are very good. The pizzas are excellent! The tasting at the bar is excellent. The salon for Club members is great. The view is another wow experience. This is a nicely sized farm of 306 acres which produces excellent whites and reds. Cheers! A votre santé!!

Stopped here on our way to Lansdowne Resort over the July 4th Holiday. Had a great tasting with Susan, who was very knowledgeable about the winery and history and super nice too! Beautiful grounds and great pizza as well. Only downside is that there was not enough shade umbrellas, it was so hot and the sun was brutal.

This feels like a upscale place i would imagine in Napa. We were there at sunset- so beautiful! The have a limited pick of wines made from the grapes on the property, but the Rose we had was perfection.

scenery nice BUT hard to get a nice table. Also, staff does not clean vacant tables so plan on wiping down before you sit. Wine not the best but food trucks are fabulous. Costly wine.

Came with 13 people to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We were told that we could not stay in the main wine tasting room, even though there was plenty of seating, because our party was too big. We were forced to pay $100 for the privilege of sitting in the upstairs area, which looked like a cafeteria, or sitting outdoors. We chose outside where we were promptly set upon by yellow jackets. The manager was inflexible. We will not be coming back!

Loved this winery. Good wine (especially the “Library Release” Chardonnay). Great views. Friendly staff.

So, after an exhausting visit to the outlet mall in Leesburg; we decided to check out some of the local wineries. We arrived around 5pm which was lucky for us since the pouring stops at 5:30. We didn't do the tastings just picked a wine based on recommendations from the staff and out personal preferences. The atmosphere is lively. You are allowed to bring food and are welcomed to purchase cheeses and chocolates from their shop. We settled down in the open "living room" type of space in the main room. Overlooking the scenic rolling hills of VA was relaxing and enjoyable! Quite a different scene from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Very good wine and great spot to spend some time. The food truck was a nice bonus and the setting was very pretty. Best around sunset

Great set up. Plenty of seating. Female at the register in the side shop was not friendly at all and had an attitude for no reason. Other than that it was a great way to spend a day. $50 for a bottle and tiny baguette.

Wonderful Mothers Day celebration Saturday with my daughter at Stone Tower Winery. The weather was perfect! Balmy with a slight cooling breeze and a panoramic view of the vineyards, lake and rolling hills set the tone for lunch. We had a unique white sauce pizza - (Fantastic) Farmer's Market: spring peas, swiss chard, ricotta, lemon zest with a drizzle of honey - and delicious charcuterie board and sipped a unique wine Sycolin Creek (crisp white with a bit of oak & sweet finish).
She'd arranged an Uber trip to another favorite winery of hers - 50 West Vineyards - where we finished the afternoon watching the clouds roll in over the mountains & sipped their Brut Rose by a fire pit table. We had wine tastings at both wineries presented by personable, patient sommeliers. We laughed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our patient husbands provided safe transport.

I've been to this place several times and never disappointed. The views are amazing and the wine is fantastic. I recommend bringing your own food but you can purchase cheese, crackers, etc but you'll pay a premium for it. The staff is professional but can be a little "hyper focused" especially on busy days... which is any weekend. This place is VERY popular with the NOVAites but is family friendly. Seating is plentiful and there is enough green space to spread a blanket/picnic area for some elbow room.
If you're looking for a good place to hang out with the family or friends, I highly recommend this place. Just get there early to secure good seating.
If you plan to have a wedding here.. .you won't be disappointed. the venue is gorgeous and the inside banquet hall is equally gorgeous... but you better be ready to pay. It will not be cheap... but it'll be worth it.

A perfect ending to our 3 day mini vacation in the Leesburg and Middleburg area.
The Stone Tower Winery is very posh and located in a remote and beautiful area with rolling hills and fantastic views . We made a reservation hoping to do a tasting of their wines but they no longer offer that service. Instead we did sample a Merlot and their Rose, and both were very good compared to other Vineyards in Virginia. A little pricey with their bottle prices, but all in all a great experience. They also serve pizza which I wish we were informed of ahead of time.

First, i had a world class tasting here. We tasted off the menu (but it was 11am) because there was no traffice. 2 bubbles, 2 sauv blanc, chard and then a handful or reds.
the quality of wine is quite high and the gentleman with the beard was very knowledgable.
The reds are the real deal here. The challenge they have is that they can lose an entire vintage because of weather so they buy grapes and truck them from California. Not necessarily a bad idea given they do have to make wine.
the prices were fair for the wine.
so why not a 5?
I purchased almost $200 of wine based on the tasting and they wouldn't comp the tasting fee. This is quite standard practice at almost every west coast winery. $20 is steep to begin and I get they don't want busloads coming to quaff without purchasing, but reward the folks that are serious about buying.

A beautiful property, but only so-so wine and terrible BBQ. The BBQ was 1/3 fat and skin, and the $3 corn bread muffin was a mini muffin. Their pizza is excellent, but it is now only available to members who can sit in the members’ building. Would not recommend a visit unless you are willing to sign up as a member.

Multiple buildings, area you can bring your dog, family friendly. I was with a member and visited the lounge. Great selection of whites and reds to sample. Wine Menu does change. Outdoor patios where you enjoy the gorgeous view. Will go back when I visit the area.

This winery will make you feel like you have left the US! The views are stunning. The food is top notch. Their wines are delicious. Their special events/SOmminars are so informative, people will think you are a Sommelier once you attended. I can say so much!! However, THE STAFF, THE STAFF, THE STAFF.... ARE THE BEST!! From the owners to the busers!! I absolutely LOVE this place!

We were not prepared for the long line to get in nor for the vast expanse of barn which had to be navigated. But once you figure out how everything works, the fun begins.
We did a 6-course wine tasting with Jessica who was absolutely fabulous. So personable and knowledgeable. And we loved the wines. The tasting was one of the best we've done in the region.
The only drawback was the inability to handle large crowds which is what we encountered. There were lines for the tastings, bathrooms and food. We had hoped to have had lunch there but were told it was an hour wait. We ended up ordering a local superb cheddar and crackers which we each had with a glass of wine.
Despite the crowd issues, it was a highly enjoyable experience. But I would recommend that more tasting stations be made available so the wait is not so long. It would make for a much more relaxing experience.

Beautiful location. Was glad to find a family friendly winery on our vacation. When we arrived there were 2 employees doing tastings for maybe 3 different groups. There was no space for us, so we just stood. No one ever said anything to us (not welcome, we'll be with you shortly). It took about 20 minutes for a group to move so we could go up. The wine was just fine. It was also pretty expensive. I don't think there was a bottle for under $30. Which considering it's a $15 tasting and we didn't even eat a cracker...was a lot considering.

Came here for a friends bday party. We got there around 11 AM right before the rush. The staff was able to accommodate our party of +15 people. Some of us went for the Signature Tasting for around $20. You get around 7 wines to sample. We also ordered the prosciutto & artichoke and truffle with wild mushroom. The pizza was delicious and I highly recommend ordering the truffle one. The Winery has great views and awesome places to take pictures. We saw a couple of events even a wedding reception. Parking here can be limited so its best to carpool. If you're coming all the way from MD consider taking the ferry to avoid the Dulles toll road. My friends really enjoyed our time here. Its a great place to bring children and pets. Definitely pack some food and enjoy all of the wines. This has to be one of my favorite wineries in the area as the scenery is beautiful and they have enough space to accommodate large parties.

We decided to visit Stone Tower Winery on a lovely August afternoon. The place was packed, so we were hopeful that we'd find a great experience. We had to wait a short while to get to a tasting bar. Tastings are $15 per person for 6 samples. These ranged from a sparkling rose, through a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and on to three reds. The first samples gave us a few good sips, although we found it odd that the subsequent pours were put in the same glass, not even rinsed. There was also no water offered to "cleanse the palate" or crackers or anything for between tastings, so that did not seem ideal. We enjoyed the sparkling rose which was crisp, slightly sweet, very effervescent. The Sauvignon Blanc was rather tart and rather flavorless. Sauvignon Blanc is my favorite white wine, but for the price they were asking for their wine, I could buy 3 or 4 bottles of much tastier wine such as Kim Crawford, Nobilo or Brancott. The Chardonnay seemed very weak, too, so it was disappointing. As we got into the reds, I found them quite weak for reds, and although the descriptions promised all sorts of berry, cherry, etc., these were not flavorful wines. And for the price, I'll pass, thank you. Plenty of really great wines available with flavor. The final wine, a Petit Verdot, did have intense flavor, and was the best of the lot. We did purchase a bottle to enjoy during our visit. There was a lot of grainy sediment which we are not used to. And, for $42 a bottle, we'll take our red wine business elsewhere. The scenery was lovely, the weather delightful, but now we have "been there, done that" and would not return.

My wife and I, over the past dozen or so years, have visited over 100 wineries in PA, NY, OH, MD & VA and Stone Tower by far is the most exquisite we have been to. Everything from the wines, views, buildings, landscaping & staff is just awesome !!! The only drawback...pricey, but well worth the visit ! Truly enjoyed our experience and will be back !!

So it had been a while since I had visited Stone Tower and thought the first really cool day of the fall was an apt day to try. The place was super busy as it looked like a wedding was also happening there. I was greeted as I entered the tasting room and was able to find a place at the bar. My server was very nice and very knowledgeable. The tasting was $20 for eight wines. They were all on the Dry side maybe even a tad sour for my taste. The white sparkling wine was my favorite of those I tasted though a couple of the reds were mild. The highlight was when she offered to let me try their port. It was exceptional.

Stone Tower winery is relatively new on the Loudoun Co. Wine scene. Gorgeous tasting area but the wines need maturing.

This was a great way to start off our winery tasting. The tasting itself was great and the woman who lead it was very informative. I really enjoyed her. The views were fantastic and it was a great place.

we were surprised by how big and pretty the view was here. it got quite crowded on a saturday afternoon but we were able to grab a spot on some couches on the porch overlooking the vineyard, which was a perfect way to spend an afternoon. the reds i had were very good and everyone else seemed to enjoy their selections. we had the wood fired pizza and it was also good, along with the yummy bread and some cheese for sale. if i had come from home just for the day, i would have brought food along rather than purchasing there (can be consumed outside but not once inside the tasting room - it looked like that was a newish policy). only downside is that we saw the sign that the lower terrace would be closed after 3 for a wedding, but we didn't realize that meant we couldn't wander around the grounds in some of the best scenic spots...makes sense (kinda), just would have wandered first if we had realized. i would have purchased a bottle or two, but they were out of my usual price range (the ones i liked were $38 and $42). there is an adults only area and a family area, there is also an area where you can reserve seating that is kind of set apart (i am not sure if you need to be a certain sized group)

Absolutely horrible winery to do business with! I joined their wine club in April of this year. Huge mistake!! When I initially joined I was told that I could cancel at any time for any reason. However, when I moved out of the area and called to cancel my membership I was told that I committed to a 1 year membership and either must pay a $50 cancellation fee or buy the rest of my wine outright. If I could give Stone Tower 0 stars I would. There are so many wonderful wineries in the area don’t bother wasting your time at this one!

We went to 4 wineries, and in our opinion this was the best wine we tasted by far. While the other Wineries had OK wine, this compared well with some of the better California Wineries around where we live. The large open barn seems to be new and was a nice place to hang out either inside or out and had sofas and chairs. Lots of tasting tables and servers meant that there was plenty of room and no wait to taste. There was no food here though. But a large amount of people (not crowded) suggest that they spend some time hanging around, buying wine and drinking it.

We visited Stone Tower Winery again with friends. I am amazed at how it has expanded in the last two years. Serving tasty whites and some very good reds! Yes, it can be done in Virginia. Even with the growth, the staff is welcoming and acquainted us with the flow of the new tasting building. Lots of comfortable areas to gather with great views of the vineyard and rolling hills. This is the closest experience to California Wine Country that we have enjoyed.

The wine tasting was very reasonably-priced and a good mix of the "wine speak" and interesting background about where the wine came from and why it tasted a certain way. I'm certainly no wine master, but they didn't make me feel intimidated which was really nice. It's a very nice venue too, and we were shown the construction of the new building that's coming up. This place could really take off very soon. The wine itself is definitely worth the trip, but the views are great on their own too.

There are many wineries in this area of Virginia. Stone Tower Winery was off the main road a mile down a narrow road, but it was still very crowded on a weekend.
It is surprisingly large, with the "stone tower" building and also a barn-style building where they serve individual pours. There was not a lot of information about what was where other than signs guiding guests for a wedding party there.
The wine we tried - a sauvignon blanc - was excellent, as was the view from a bluff overlooking the vineyards.

I have visited Stone Tower Winery on two occasions and both were fabulous experiences. The hospitality and guest services were unmatched, the food and wine were delicious, and the ambiance was beautiful. I would highly recommend you visit during your time in Northern Virginia.

Flew in from the west coast and wanted to take some time wine tasting in what is suppose to be the 4th biggest wine producing state. We walked in and Susie greeted us for our wine tastings. She was very knowledgeable of the winery and it’s offerings and very friendly. Stone Tower is a beautiful stop with nice scenery. We tasted several really good wines and even order some to be shipped home. Come to this great winery and enjoy.

Went with family members after our 5K race in Reston for the Pedicatric Specialists of VA, which had an awesome turnout and fund raising. Winery is gorgeous and it was more packed than usual (try not to go on a weekend) because of a wedding. Wine was good and we shared some cheeses and meats with the others while our children and grandchildren played. Great time by all.

This is by far my favorite winery! The scenery is beautiful and the wines are delicious! We had a personal tour (Tuesday and Wednesday this is the only way you can go to the winery, which is a plus since you have the winery for yourself). Another nice thing about Stone Tower is that they allow you to bring your own food. We spent 4 hours sitting outside and having our own picnic, it was so nice! During the tour we got to see all the beautiful rooms available for weddings or other events. I will definitely plan an event there in the future.

Stone Tower winery is a very beautiful place. Went there with friends on a week end and it was absolutely packed. We still managed to get a nice table inside, as it was too cold to be outside. The prices for the bottles are quite high, more than 40 dollars for red wine. But when you actually drink your bottle, the wine is so good it makes it all worth it.
The fact that you can bring your own food is actually very enjoyable, and they also sell nice cheeses and snacks there. If you want to go there with friends or with a significant other, go early !
I have visited other wineries around D.C, but this one has been the best so far.

This is such a beautiful property. We did the 15.00 tasting and the woman that ran it for us, Diana, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and most important friendly. The wines are very dry so but i personally like dry wines! Definitely recommend!

Read another review about being mislead and management turning what should be a wonderful day into a dreadful afternoon... I’ve been a member for a few years and have seen the crowds grow and grow became the scenery is beautiful, the wine is decent, and for the most part, the staff is friendly. The last time I went was at the end of February 2020 and it was packed. We couldn’t even find a seat anywhere, even in the members only room after picking up my quarterly wine pick-up. After being directed to the basement, my boyfriend and I were happily surprised to find a raw oyster vendor available. We picked up our wine, got oysters, and looked for two seats for about 15 minutes to no avail. We kept walking around and stumbled upon the downstairs dining area was open and several folks had found it, too, and were seated enjoying their wine and snacks. “How wonderful!” we thought. It had plenty of room, still a pretty view outside but with the warmth of indoors (it was too cold to sit outside). We found a table, got our wine and oysters out, as well as some cheese and crackers we brought, which I’ve done multiple times in the past, and about 20 minutes later, a manager came over and asked us to either sit outside or pack up our food and “enjoy it at home,” because apparently no personal food was allowed in that room. We were very upset since there were no obvious signs of this rule, we could not find any other seating, and she didn’t walk over to us until we got set up and cozy. She could’ve just said, “hey, finish up today but next time please find other places to sit,” especially since I literally just bought three bottles of their wine and food from their vendor. So, because I brought some cheese and crackers to compliment those items, my options were to sit in the cold or go home. So we left and we will not return. And I will be canceling my membership. And their onsite tasting events have proven disappointing, as well (being told to “stay in line” in a tasting and to “stop talking” while the sommelier explains the making of the wine - ridiculous). Two stars because the folks that serve the wine are great and the scenery and facilities are beautiful but I think this place is getting too big for their britches.

This place is huge and very well appointed, making it great for a large group. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well and a great view. Good food options. I liked the sparkling wines here best.

Really fun afternoon. Wine tasting, great food, cozy indoors and although it was chilly a whole vineyard to explore outside.

The site didn’t clarify that if you weren’t going to do a winetasting that you need to reserve a spot for 12 people. The winery was empty and they refused to provide service to my husband and I and 10 of our guests. Half of our guests that were members at the winery. After this this experience I’m sure they’re going to stop being members. It was a shocking and disappointing experience for all. The managers were very disrespectful and treated us as if we had no business being there.
We went to 50 W. Vineyards and Chrysalis and they were absolutely amazing and very accommodating

The place, for start, has wonderful grounds and views, It has two options of tasting rooms, one that is kids and pets friendly, and the other that is for people over 21.
We did not do the tastings but we took advantage of the option to bring our own picnic. The place has plenty of outdoor and indoor seating areas. Many of the outdoor spaces, have patio umbrellas for protecting from the sun, but not all of them. Although with temperatures of more than 95 degrees like the ones we had at the weekend, the umbrellas are not enough to prevent that it is not very pleasant to be outdoors at all times.
The indoor seating is more limited but much, much more refreshing. Although in there, you cannot bring your own outside food . Also, arrive early if you want to find seating indoor or if there are many guests, it might be better to reserve a space with advance.
We had a couple of the Sparkling Rosé Brut which was perfectly refreshing at the moment!
Despite the terrible heat, we had a great time and really enjoyed our wines, food, views and friends!

A wonderful venue for friends to get together and share some exceptional wines, with the flexibility to bring your own cheeses, breads and meats to snack on. We liked it so much that we decided to join their membership club. The wine by the bottle prices are a little more costly than other vineyards (think Bluemont, Sunset Hills, Willowcroft), but they're much better wines too.

This winery is beautiful. There is a great view and room for afternoon picnics. But I was not a fan of any of their wines. Maybe they are too young. But my friend and I did a tasting there this past Friday and we did not like even one of their wines. Sorry guys. We tried.

We visited ther Winery on a rainy Thursday in January. It was not busy. This is our first visit. Joe gave us a "Cellar Tour" but he knows everything about the winery from the details of the vines to how the grapes are chosen, to the fermenting process. It was awesome. Then we had lunch in the tower building. The food was good. Note that on weekends this building is only open to members and the public must have tastings in the kid and pet friendly barn, a little down the road. The owners are also philantropists and the winery hosts over 150 weddinngs a year.

After visiting a previous winery in the area I had no idea what to expect here. Pleasantly surprised! Family friendly area and upscale area for adults. We visited both. The tasting was excellent. The pours gave us a taste that was enough to make a decision on the wine we wanted to purchase. The staff was courteous and helpful. The option of getting a snack and having a nice view was a definite plus. Would recommend this winery for a excellent afternoon. I usually go to wineries in Napa and had no expectations for Virginia wineries, the first winery was so bad I was concerned about going to another, I was so happy that I went to this winery.

A couple of friends and I drove out to Stone Tower on a lovely Sunday afternoon at the end of September. We had read great reviews and decided to see it it was worth the trip. It absolutely was. We took advantage of the tasting and were delighted to try the wines that Stone Tower makes from their own grapes or the wines mixed with juices from other vineyards that are sold under their Wild Boar label. After we finished the tasting, we went outside to grab a table and enjoy food with a bottle of their wine. The tables with umbrellas go very fast so you need to get there early if you want to enjoy sipping wine outside. They have a couple of food trucks from which to buy food but there was also a couple who was grilling kebabs with hummus for sale that was quite nice. Stone Tower also has a market inside where you can buy cheese and other light fare to go with your wine. It was a lovely day and an easy drive from the D.C. Area.

Stopped here on my way back to catch a flight out of Dulles. It was a random Monday so no one was there. It was like getting our own private wine tasting. After our tasting we snagged a bottle, cheese & crackers and sat overlooking the vineyard. It was a rainy day, but we didn't care. A GREAT place. I will definitely return!

Lovely place with some tasty wines! If you bring young children or your pet, there is a casual, rustic tasting room that can happily and cheerfully accommodate you and your party. They also have an "adults only" tasting room which is quite lovely and welcomingly furnished, overlooking the vineyards. Same great wines; same friendly and knowledgeable servers there too. My sister and I started out in the rustic tasting room then migrated over to the "adult only" tasting room for a bottle and some munchies. Very relaxing and we had a great time!

We were delighted to find this beautiful spot so close to Fairfax. Rolling hills, cows, a heart-shaped pond, and lovely outdoor seating and picnic areas are all part of this winery. There are two main buildings--The Barn and The Tower. Each offers an opportunity to buy bread, crackers, cheese, charcuterie and the like. The site also hosts outdoor food vendors: on this day there was a tent with a small pizza oven and another tent with a smoker offering BBQ. You can also bring your own food (the website asks that you consumer your own food outside in the picnic areas). Bringing your own food is a good idea as the cost of all the goodies on offer can quickly add up! You can taste all the wines at several wine tasting stations, but personally I hate those things. They tend to be very crowded and noisy and for a few dollars more than the wine tasting you can just get a bottle and a couple of glasses and go enjoy your wine in peace and quiet! No exception here -- each wine tasting area was a beehive of activity. On a pretty afternoon, the picnic areas offering shade fill up fast. The good news is that this place is large enough to absorb the crowds. Much is made of the view from the Tower and it is very pretty, but the space up there is small and the balcony quite tiny. You can get just as good a view from ground level. Like most wineries, this one offers a club, which also includes a very pretty private club room. There are rooms for special events like weddings and private parties. We were greeted on arrival by a friendly hostess who answered questions and pointed us in the right direction for what we wanted to do -- buy some wine and have a picnic. I am not a wine connoisseur -- the flavor of Vigonier I purchased matched the description on the flyer. I found it to be a pleasant, bright wine with floral and fruit -- mostly peach-- notes. It went very well with the freshly baked bread, prosciutto, salami, fig jam, and chocolate we purchased for our picnic. We found a table on the patio near the tower overlooking that view and spent a lovely hour just relaxing and enjoying our picnic. Room for improvement--the umbrellas provided need a more solid base as the brisk winds rolling up from the valley made them unstable. My husband kept his foot firmly on the base and lent a steadying hand when the wind got too brisk. There were a lot of staff on the day we visited and all were very friendly and professional. If you plan to go with a biggish group, you should probably call beforehand to see if it's possible to reserve a table. I noticed some tables in the tower area preset with decorations and figured those were reserved for small parties. We liked this winery very much and will come again. Though we saw family groups with kids and a few dogs, the overall feeling is more adult -- that is, there are no rides or kids toys on the property, though I imagine some children will enjoy seeing the cows and the donkey in the bordering fields. I certainly did!

By far this is the best Winery I have ever visited in the Virginia. It's a large compound with two big tasting rooms and bars. One is family friendly and the other one is for adults. Checked out and loved both!! Our wine taster knows what's she is talking about and she was very friendly and professional at the same time. The sittings outside are the best thing this Winery had. You can take your wine out anywhere in the compound and enjoy the view while sipping your wine. A must go Winery!!

We enjoy many of the Virginia wineries. Pretty surroundings, good and getting even better wines. Even some pretty good food. Enjoy interacting with "new friends" as well as bringing along family and friends. This summer, we were cruising between two other wineries we enjoy -- and where we have signed on as members by meeting purchase requirements -- and decided to go to Stone Tower. Last mile of the road makes me cringe a bit when driving my C7 Vette -- but that is the ONLY negative. Absolutely gorgeous location on Hogback Mountain. Both the original venue and the new location are attractive and fun. Wines are very good and reasonably priced. Love the food vendors -- the barbecue is yummy and almost always sells out by 4ish. Almost every visit we have watched a wedding -- great conversation catalyst along the railing. And staff is happy, hustling and helpful. Will be definitely joining up in 2018.

We tasted wine in the old Tower, from 2005. It is the smaller and more cozy venue, with a family and pet-friendly touch. The new building from 2015 is much larger and has less character. It does cater to the large weekend crowds.
Our friendly server was well informed but not lecturing. I found the wines (7 for $20+tips) to be average for Virginia, which means rather less impressive than what you get in California. We settled for single glasses of a Cabernet blend, and took our picnic food to the top terrace in the new building. The view was great, and the weather perfect on that October day.

They were busy, and there was an event going on too. I thought the service was O.K., given the situation. It was in the lower quartile of our service experiences, but we normally try to avoid weekends or go on weekdays.
We're here for the wines, not for the service. The server was reasonably knowledgeable. After our tasting, we bought some wine and had a picnic at one of their tables.
We bought several bottles and joined their wine club.

Wonderful views but overpriced. There is an area for people with kids which was nice since we didn’t have kids with us. There is a convenience fee when we ordered from our table as we were told to do - not sure what that is about? Only had one glass each. Way over priced for wine bottles. Sandwiches were very salty - probably wanted us to buy more wine to drink. A place to see, but not to stay long.

Get here early as this place fills up fast. There are 2 tasting areas. One is family and pet friendly while the second is adult only. This is the new tasting room that opened this past fall (2015). We had a tasting first and bought a bottle of wine and sat outside on the veranda. There are tables with umbrellas so that helps provide shade. We brought our own picnic lunch as they don't mind you bringing outside food. They do offer food for purchase as well. The day we were here they were getting ready for a wedding so it was extra busy. I would highly recommend this vineyard as a stop on your tour.

Take 6 adults, 4 children, 1 picnic. Add comfy sofas, 2 bottles of Stone Tower Wine (they provide the glasses when you purchase the wine for drinking there) and a great view. Mix well together and roll down the hillside. Enjoy.
(in case you hadn't guessed, we had a great time, loved it and thought the rosé wine delicious but the white too acidic)

My husband and I went to Stone Winery on a Saturday in the recommendation from a family member. When we entered the parking lot of the winery it was full. After finding a parking spot we entered the winery to find the place was wall to wall people, not an empty spot at the tasting room bar. We finally ended up at an outdoor tasting bar where we were able to taste the wines. The wines were below average compared to the other nearby wineries, and the price of the wines were over the top for Virginia wines. I’m not a wine snob by any means, but there are far better wines in the Virginia/Maryland area which are much better and reasonably priced! I would definitely pass this one up!

I had a surprise birthday celebration here and it will be a birthday to remember! What a lovely winery! The views are gorgeous! Fortunately, the day was a beautiful fall day, the sky was so blue and we were able to enjoy the ambiance of a gorgeous winery! We did a wine tasting and had wonderful Michele guide us through and introduce us to their wines. She was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic in her presentation of their wines. We have been to many wineries in No. VA. but this one really had some lovely wines. We especially liked the Wild Boar Malbec! We had a small child in our party so we had to do our tasting in the "barn". I was a little disappointed when walking there from the main tasting room but honestly it was perfect! There are comfy couches and we could arrange the seating to meet our needs. We brought our own cheeses, breads etc., had a cozy corner and were not disturbed or had any intrusions. The staff is so accommodating! As we were leaving we were able to tour the beautiful main tasting room. It is beautifully presented and truly shows pride in ownership! I do believe a lovely tradition will continue to grow. I can't wait to return. A member of our party joined their wine club so I know we will return and will continue to enjoy their wines. It will be a thrill to see them continue to grow (no pun intended) and prosper. A note, pets are welcomed to be in the "barn". I wish them continued success!!!!

We wanted to love this visit but there was a major issue with service. We had booked a private gazebo which is a $500 minimum purchase. We were well aware prior to booking. The minute we walked up we were asked in a rude tone “you know there’s a $500 minimum, right?” It’s fine to nicely let people know, however, we were asked in a manner as if we would be unable to do so. We had then let them know we had already pre-purchased 6 bottles and were welcomed with a rude response once again. I work at a winery myself and can’t imagine EVER speaking to a customer in a tone such as what we were met with. Truly it did not seem like we had any pleasant encounters until we ordered almost double the minimum purchase amount of items. The gazebo is nice but I feel as though it could be better. It is basically right off the road and you don’t get any private service for your minimum purchase even though you are the furthest away from the ordering station. We definitely expected a bit more of an elevated experience such as service, better views, etc. when you are committing to a higher minimum spend. Thankfully no one had been in any of the other gazebos or it would have been even less special. I will say, however, the winery itself is beautiful, the wines are good, and the food is great. Even though we had a poor service experience, we enjoyed everything else overall.

Straight up, Stone Tower wines are the BEST in the region. Combine that with a well trained staff and there isn't a better wine experience in Northern Va. I just hosted a private event at Stone Tower. The room was immaculate with exceptional views of their beautiful vineyards. Their staff KNEW THEIR WINES and made every one of my guests feel special and cared for. Their food is EXCEPTIONAL! You know they're good when every one of my 25 guests raved about the staff by name! That experience carries down to their wine tasting room. Following my party, everone adjourned to their wine tasting room which is open to the public. Well decorated with exceptional views, this is where you want to spend an iconic Northern Va weekend afternoon. So fun and relaxed! Stone Tower Winery is where you want to be on a Northern Va weekend!

My husband and I have been here twice with work colleagues and both times we had a great time. The organization had changed a bit two weeks ago (from a year ago) as you can no longer take in food to the 21 and up tower. Not knowing that, our group walked from the adult section down to the family section and sat outside on the extended patio so we could enjoy the wines and enjoy the appetizers we brought as well. My husband and I decided to try the wine sampling menu which included seven wines. That was a bit much much for me, the driver, even though the pours were samples and I was eating snacks. We ended up buying two bottles of wine to take home and have enjoyed them. That being said, these wines are pretty pricey for the quality. They are the quality range of $15 - $18 bottles but cost $28-$32. So, this isn't a place to try and buy at a bargain price. It IS a great place to meet friends and have a fun time!

My friend and I come here every time I come to visit. It has some of the best views in the whole county. The staff is super friendly and the wine is great. There are so many places to sit both inside and out. With great wine and views it’s everything you would want in a winery. The selection of cheese and crackers and meat trays is great too.

First time visit. We were visiting from Maryland and our friends took us to the winery. When we first entered to tasting room it was very crowded and quite loud. Our friends were members so we pick up a couple bottles of wine and we into the back members room which was much more leisurely and more private. Had a great time drinking good wine and spending quality time with old friends. They also have a variety of food items available. We could not see much of grounds because it was raining, next time. Highly recommend for an enjoyable afternoon.

Great wines! Great assortment of food, amazing music, beautiful location and friendly staff. Very nice!

My husband and I went with 2 other couples and we were amazed to see how large and beautiful this winery is.... Who knew!! We walked into the "barn" tasting room and as we stood looking around checking the lay of the land.... we were greeted by a very nice man... Welcome to Stone Tower Winery! Have you visited with us before?? To which we replied. "no, first timers." He again welcomed us and gave us the run down of the 2 tasting rooms and that one was pet and children friendly and the other was for adults only. He escorted us to a spot on the tasting bar and introduced us to Jennifer who would be pouring for us. (GREAT first impression!!) Jennifer was very friendly and gave us some background on the vineyard and the owners. We tasted 6 very nice wines. 2 whites, a very nice dry rose and 3 reds. After our tasting we went to the adults only tasting room and to the "store" and purchased some meats, cheeses and breads along with a bottle of Malbec and sat and enjoyed the views and each others company. The views are beautiful and there is ample seating. The owners have done this right!!! They have thought of everything!! I did get the chance to meet Christie. Such a nice lady! We look forward to coming back again soon!!!

This place looked nice. And yes it is probably the sweetest set up in Loudoun in terms of space and set up. We reserved and paid for a seated tasting. Every single person we saw told us we did not have a reservation and told us to go away. Then we got a not so awesome seat in the storage room. So... Perhaps the wine is good (honestly if you hit your third vineyard it all tastes similar..). Bottom line, disorganized and caused us to burn more than half an hour just figuring out if we were allowed to be there. Go as a couple. Going as a group was.... Army lingo here ... A cluster....

We chose to do the tasting in the tasting barn, since only club memeners are now permitted in the chateau. There’s only one choice (white/rose’/mixes red) at $25 per person. All was going well and the four of us were enjoying our time together and planning to purchase several bottles from the tasting. My daughter asked our pourer if she could order pizza and bring it back to the tasting bar while we finished our tasting. She was clearly told yes by our pourer and given instructions that the restaurant would give her a buzzer and would use it to summon her when the pizza was ready. When she brought the pizza back and we began eating it, a different pourer came over and rudely told us we couldn’t eat at the tasting bar. My daughter and husband moved to a side table to eat while the remaining two of us finished the tasting. The new pourer took over our service and rushed us through 2 more pours. She was clearly trying to get us to leave the serving bar, as she asked us how we’d like to close our bill, despite us already having removed the pizza with which she had serious concerns and us having wine remaining In-N-Out glasses. I spoke with the manager, and he comped our tastings. However, our visit was already ruined by their own miscommunications and the second pourer’s rushed pourings and attitude. We’ve not visited Stone Tower since Covid, and after this experience (and learning that only members are now permitted in the beautiful chateau), we’ll likely not be back.

I attended a welcome party and wedding there on a September weekend. It is a stunning venue that offers amazing views and plenty of opportunities for photos.

Spectacular setting. Their wines are excellent. Two different places to go...one is for adults...the other is kid and dog friendly.

The Wine: Great wine! Heavier on the whites. Still very enjoyable, even for the red lovers.
The ambiance: There is plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. In cooler weather they set up outside heating which makes it very comfortable to enjoy your wine outside.
The Service: Very courteous, warm, welcoming, down-to-earth. I didn't even know that I was chatting with one of the owners until I asked her how long she had worked there.

We went in the barn tasting room since we had our daughter with us (there is also a 21 and older tasting room). It was full of families with their kids and dogs enjoying great wine and conversation. My adult niece and I did a tasting and enjoyed all (I think there were 8) wines. The barn was a bit stuffy on a hot summer day but still enjoyable. The property is gorgeous and would be really fun for a group outing.

On our first outdoor dining experience in the era of COVID-19 our family of 4 adults truly enjoyed lunch here. The entry was timed for those with reservations and we were greeted by a parking lot person who gave us the lay of the land. The staff was very pleasant and masked. The layout of tables was well spaced. The surroundings/view were beautiful.
Getting down to the food and drink, the focus is on wine, naturally, and the wine we sampled (we started with a white wine sampler that we shared) was very nice. We especially liked the Chardonnay, rose and brut rose sparkling wine. We also had a terrific charcuterie board, delish strawberry salad, and a pizza that was good, and the server Marisa was very nice. All in all a wonderful visit and lunch.

Enjoyed a last minute mid day escape to stone tower winery for our anniversary…didn’t think to check if it was open (it was closed) but the owner Kristi Huber was such a kind host and allowed us to enjoy the view and drink some rose…at the end of our visit she gifted us a celebratory bottle of wine. We were so touched by her hospitality and makes us want to come back over and over again. Thank you Stone Tower for making our day so special!!

I've been to Stone Tower twice and had so much fun both times. I'm not much of a wine drinker but the attentive staff helped me pick out a sauvignon blanc that I loved. We were in the over 21 area and had a table on the patio overlooking the beautiful scenery. A great time was had by all of us.
Note: We brought our own food both times I've visited so I have no idea of their choices.

Stone Tower Winery is growing at a fast pace. That being said, we always have had excellent service there and enjoy meeting friends to enjoy their wines. Views of the vineyard and mountains in the distance are beautiful. Lots of outdoor furniture makes this winery an inviting place to relax.

This is a relatively new winery. The wines were pretty good and different from typical Virginian wines. The tasting room is adorable. I see great things for this winery.

This winery is absolutely beautiful and a great place to sip good wine, relax and share the day with family and friends.
The tasting bar is large put gets busy fast. A small tasting fee is charged. Wine by the glass or bottle is also available for sale.
Comfortable seating is available inside, outside on the multiple decks and patios. A small store is located inside the winery with chilled wine, crackers, etc... available for sale.
Bring your snacks, purchase your wine and sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery with family and friends. A private room is available for special functions.
Definitely a top-notch winery and venue that you should place top on your list.

Stone Tower's addition of a massive tasting building has put them towards the top of the Loudoun Wine Trail elite. The property has amazing views from everywhere and more indoor, patio, deck and grassy seating than half the other wineries in County combined. the staff is friendly and attentive. They have tastefully separated their tasting areas into "adults" and "families" as to not offend either party while giving each a top rate experience. The wines are fantastic and we had a hard time selecting just a couple varietals to bring home. We will be back for the rest soon.

This is a charming venue with beautiful vistas outside and good fun inside. A group of us went for a wine tasting party and loved the wines we sampled. The wood fired pizza we got was a great complement to the wine. The sommelier at the wine bar gave us a really good overview of what wines we were tasting and how they compared. This is, by the way, an excellent winery --great to know that Virginia has a few like this, comparable to many of the good ones in California. And they have connections to a winery in France and are developing a couple of sparkling wines that could end up being competitive with the best from Europe. Stay tuned!

What a lovely setting and terrific wine experience. Who knew Virginia wine was so good. This NorCal couple was blown away. Joe smith was a terrific guide and the whole staff was terrific.

Beautiful place with amazing views, but with terrible service. Whatever you do, do not order from the firewood pizza kitchen. Our experience at this place wasn't the best. We started off with the traditional tasting ($20 for seven cheap wines, most of which were the white kind). The poor air-conditioning made it unpleasant to stay inside, but we fell obliged to remain at the bar. When we finally finished tasting the cheap wines we decided to seat outside and at least enjoy the beautiful views outside. We sat a table near the pizza kitchen. The first 15 minutes of this was the only good part of the whole experience, which soon began to fall apart the minute we decided to order a pizza to take home for the kids. They first instructed us to come back in 15 minutes, but when we came back it wasn't ready. we didn't make much out of it and continue waiting, then came back and 15 minutes later and again same answer, it wasn't ready yet. It seemed odd, but we continued to wait for 10 more minutes and again same answer, it wasn't ready. Then I noticed they were closing out the kitchen and went back and asked. they told me that someone was trying to deliver my pizza, but that they had gone to the adjacent barn looking for us. We ended up arguing so they could cancel the order. They didn't even bother to offer an apology. But then again, this place is a vineyard, not A take-out pizza place.

Something for everyone here and lots of room to spread out...inside and outside. We appreciated the upscale area for over 21 while having great space for families who want to sit/picnic with kids/dogs. Wine was great too!

My wife and I are visiting the Leesburg area for wine tasting. We stopped by Stone Tower yesterday and all I can say is waw what a great experience. The place is beautiful, the tasting room was fantastic, and the ladies who waited on us were great. I was so impressed by the wines there that we bought six to take home. We sat out on their patio and had lunch which was great.

This was my second time here. The wines are good but not always my favorite. The views could not be better and the tasting room is gorgeous. The place is a little more expensive than I feel it should be and it is usually crowded. On the weekends they have food but the rest of the time just a small option of cheese and crackers which was almost completely empty on the shelves. I would highly recommend coming here it is just a more upscale winery than most.

My wife and I attended a wedding on the grounds and a reception in the garage-type tasting area afterwards.
The place is absolutely gorgeous with rolling hills and acre upon acre of vineyards.
The staff and owners are extremely friendly and accommodating.
The wine is unique, with the Rose topping the list.
This is an up and coming go-to spot that's definitely worth ones while to visit!

After our daughter's gymnastics meet in Leesburg a few families decided to go to a Winery to have a casual/relaxing afternoon and let our girls play outside. A parent, out of courtesy, called about 20 minutes prior to us arriving to say a group is coming. When we arrived, the vineyard was just opening and there were tables open everywhere. We were more than happy to sit in a family friendly area, at smaller tables, per family. When we went to sit down, we were directed by staff to sit at two specific tables in the reserved area even though there were LOTS of other tables. We were then told that each table we occupy is $175 and that our food and tasting could go toward this cost. As we had not planned to sit at a reserved table, this was surprising, but the women INSISTED we sit there. So we decided that $175 divided by a few families is not a big deal, especially considering that our food/wine consumed went toward this charge. Four or five parents sat at 1 table, kids chatted in the empty sofa area and then ran outside to the grassy area to play. A few other parents paid $20/person for a tasting downstairs. During our tasting we were told some of our kids had gone too close to the pond outside. So we went outside and laid down the rules (again) to ensure they stayed in the grassy area and away from the stone wall. My child and her friends complied. (There may have been 1 or 2 who did not but once told the rules, they followed them). About 10 minutes later we were told that all our kids had to come inside because there is a 'rule' that kids must be supervised outside. (Note: due to the wind and that it was a bit chilly out, there were NO other customers outside). Our girls are old enough, and well behaved, to roll down a hill on their own without helicopter parenting them. However, another parent and I went outside in the wind to watch our girls roll down the hill. While out there, we noticed other kids enjoying the grounds, playing and around the pond area (but still being safe) as their parents presumably sat inside sipping wine. About 45 minutes later I went inside to discover a complete fiasco occurring. Staff brought us a bill for $750 per table plus food! I literally never even sat down once at the table and I absolutely never agreed to a $750 table fee! Apparently, the $175 was to reserve the table that would then cost us $750 to use. DISHONEST, MISLEADING, AND OUTRAGEOUS are the words that come to mind.
We then spent 30 minutes or more arguing about the bill. During this dispute we noticed several large groups with children sitting exactly where we had originally asked to sit, and not being charged for their table. Eventually, we split the difference and paid the $750 for one table (they wanted to charge us for 2 tables! Again I never even sat down upstairs). What should have been a relaxing afternoon turned in to a horrible experience. We feel TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND MISTREATED!

Gorgeous winery in both geography and building structures. I think it’s owned by a family that owns a furniture store. The inside is rustic and open with lovely seating and bar areas. There is a large outside space for drinking, picnicking and lively views. There is another building for venues which looks rather newly built. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wines were good also; not CA wines, but good nonetheless. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area.

Winery was busy but staff was still attentive & friendly. The vistas are beautiful. It’s one of the most popular winery in the region. The day we visited was a beautiful, sunny day in December so we were able to sit outside & drinking our wine. I did not say enjoy because none of the wines we tasted met with our approval

Was really looking forward to visiting this winery again. Visited last year on our annual girls trip and we enjoyed our time in the large Tower room. Great music food and wine. When we returned this year we were only able to go to the small tasting area at a different property since we were not club members. Restrooms were horrible, and food choice was very limited. We had planned to spend the rest of our day here with a meal and enjoying the views and left without ordering anything. Staff was condescending and unfriendly. We visited other wineries earlier in the day and had a spectacular time at all of them.

On Saturday, October 8, 2022, the winery was very crowded. It was hard to get the attention of the men or women at the bar serving the wines. One matter that was very unpleasant was that it was difficult to get a receipt for the order that I placed. After I continued to request a receipt for a glass of wine and for some finger food, I noticed that there was a "service charge" and a "20% tip" that was included, even though I was never asked if I wanted to leave a tip or that I accepted a service charge. This lack of disclosure made me feel upset and quite unhappy that the winery was not respectful enough to ask the people in attendance if that person, like me, was authorizing the "service charge" and the "20% tip." I will think hard whether I will recommend Stone Tower Winery to others.

Stone Tower has an absolutely gorgeous setting, with beautiful hillside scenery. Kind and engaging staff. Been here a few times. During Covid-19 I have ordered two or three delivery orders from them and they delivered it quickly and conveniently within a couple days, all the way to North Arlington.

This winery is located off a dirt road and up a big hill overlooking acres of vines. Kid and dog friendly, outdoor seating for picnic lunches. The outdoor seating areas are beautifully furnished. Plenty of room for children to toss football or play other games. There is a separate building and outside area for adults only. The wines are good, the staff is friendly and knowledge. This was my third trip and I will return. You can taste wines, purchase by the glass or by the bottle.

The white wines were very good, particularly the Sauvignon Blanc. The Wild Boar Rose was an easy sipper in the warm weather. They make good pizzas as well. One pizza for each person if you’re hungry. Splitting wouldn’t cut it for me. The best feature of the winery is the location. There are incredible views looking down on the vineyards and rolling hills. Definitely the prettiest winery I’ve visited in Northern Virginia.

Katie and her staff set up a wonderful area with umbrellas and tables, couches , and comfy side chairs. Endless great wines, cheese and crackers plates, meat and cheese nibbles,
Iced buckets etc. 14 friends had a great day. You have to try this winery, one of the best ever visited.

My husband and I stopped here as we kept driving by and were curious about their wines as we're big into supporting local business. The views as we pulled up were breathtaking and we loved they have two areas - one for families and pets and another for 21 and over. The wines though were just so-so. You can tell it's a young winery, I bet you give them another couple of years and it'll be good.

The location - less than an hour from DC, on a hill with ponds and lots of seating - is perfect. My sister and I went on a tour with Juliann that was fabulous! The tour is pricey, but was the best American tour I've taken (East or west coast); good pours, lots of info about Virginia wine and the growth of Stone Tower, and an impromptu meeting with the owner. I've had limited exposure to Virginia wine, but on this side of the US, would definitely recommend!

Even though they are typically very busy, they do a great job offering great customer service and spreading out all their guests in various buildings and rooms on the property. Their wines are pretty nice as well, even though many aren't grown on the property. Only issue is that the prices are way too high. Seriously, they're double what they should be.
Overall, we'll continue to go though, as we always enjoy ourselves there!

Great wine tasting venue. Nice tasting bar and ability to buy bottles to drink at tables on the deck overlooking the scenic Vineyards and valley. Wines are nice though pricy for tastes or for a glass. Wines are of decent quality and taking advantage of high prices for local "Virginia" made wines.

We visited here this past weekend. First the road back is not in the best shape and gravel/dirt to boot! The venue is extremely large and very busy. The tasting are was packed. We went upstairs and it was less crowded but at least 10 degrees warmer. The server was very knowledgeable. However it seems odd so many were wines from either CA or France grapes when they do many acres of grapes. The French wine was bottled in France too. It was our favorite. The pizzas were great. Gorgeous view too. But to me a drawback was only average wines.

Recently spent a weekday afternoon at this lovely vineyard with my husband, sister, and brother in law. It is located in Leesburg, about 5 minutes from their house. There is an adults-only tasting room, and a family-friendly barn tasting room. We were at the adult one, which is beautiful. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options, and the wines are tasty. The sparkling was especially refreshing, since it was a little warm outside. The patio has a picturesque view of the vineyard and the mountains. They have a small shop with snacks for sale. It was a great place to relax and enjoy yourself. We will definitely be back.

Tasting with Alexander was fantastic! He listened to what types of wine my husband and I were interested in and was able to suggest a Cabernet Franc that we loved. We went on a Friday so it was not overly crowded. The views were fantastic. Half of the winery was dog friendly. We will definitely return!

A few couples visited the winery on a weekend. It was a little chilly so we did not get to experience the outdoors too much but the area is beautiful. We will be going back once the weather is nicer. They have a few buildings with wine tasting areas. It appears that one of the buildings is family/children friendly which is nice. There is another larger building that appears to be for the 'adult' crowd. They also have a venue for large parties, showers, weddings, etc. The building design and detailing is very suited for a winery. They have many outdoor areas with wood firepits and some gas-fired outdoor pits. There are walking paths and other areas to sit outdoors.

What better way to spend an afternoon than admiring gorgeous views of vineyards and mountains while sipping good wine, listening to live musicians, and snacking on cheese and crackers bought on the property, or your own picnic lunch.
An attentive staff member greets you as you enter a large tasting room and the knowledgeable staff makes tastings enjoyable and interesting. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the tasting room, in outdoor areas, or in the new events building. Though most of the wines are currently made from California grapes this winery will soon have more home grown wines to offer.
Add Stone Tower Winery to your list of places to visit. You won't be disappointed.

This winery has a lot of potential. It's relatively young and they are already making superb wine. We had a tour of the winery with Jeremy (the sales manager) last fall. I must say that he is very well-informed and he answered every singe questions we had. It was so good that we became members at the spot. We re-visited Stone Tower Winery last weekend to pick up our wines and the scenery is still wonderful despite the fact that it's winter. I can't wait till they complete building their lounge and cellar. Also, they started once a month soup Sundays. I highly recommend you to taste their wine and enjoy the view, at least once.

We went for my sisters 60th Birthday and sat around a beautiful landscape, drank a few very good wines and ate cheeses bread and fine meats. If your in the area you will not be disappointed. The staff was very helpful in providing anything we needed to just enjoy their wonderful estate.

Stone Tower is a very busy winery with acres and acres of vines, and a mostly young but respectful crowd. Winery has two separate venue areas—one for members and one for non-members. This review is for the non-member area.
Outdoor sitting area while under cover does not offer overhead fans, which would make sitting outside and enjoying both the scenery and afternoon live music an enjoyable experience.
Inside is as expected noisy, and air conditioning is insufficient for a hot 90+ degree day.
Winery offers active and retired military a significant discount (but it is not advertised).
Nice variety of wines which are primarily from own-grown vines and aged on-site.
On a prior trip we were guests at the member area and it is significantly more upscale and pleasant.
Both venues offer food—a number of pizzas and other finger food.

In sunny and windy weather we were in this great place. Delicious wine and great food in a very nice ambience. Here you can enjoy the day.

I was out with friends on a Saturday in December visiting a couple wineries in the area. We pulled into the parking lot about 4pm and went into one of the tasting rooms (later after looking online, we found out it was the Harvest Barn and not the main Tower tasting room). The grounds looked expansive and beautiful! At this point I was excited to try their wines. We walked into what seemed like a converted barn with outdoor heaters set up to warm up the room. There were a few couches to sit at, a decent tasting bar, and the barrels storing wine in the background. We all took a look at the tasting menu and at $15 a tasting decided to split a tasting between two of us while the third just hung out. We were inside about 10 minutes standing at the tasting bar with other people already into their tastings but no one ever acknowledged us. We even stood with cash in hand. My friend and I decided then to leave as we felt the $15 was steep and service apparently lacking. This looks like it could be a nice place for summer afternoons outside with family and friends. I may return if in the area again.

We went to Stone Tower on a rainy day, and every other person in Virginia decided to do the same because it was packed! We went to the newer tasting room (for adults 21+) and it was so packed that you could barely move. There were no seats to be found, and there was quite a wait to do a tasting. Since the tasting was on the expensive side ($15), we decided to skip it and just grab a glass of wine. Nobody in my group was overly impressed with the wine – and for $40+ per bottle, I definitely wasn’t impressed enough to purchase more than a glass. The venue itself is very impressive, and I’m sure it’s quite lovely on a less crowded day when the tables and firepits outside can be used. There is a separate tasting room that is family focused, but I can’t speak to that since we didn’t visit it. The views from the patio and upstairs balcony are absolutely stunning though, so it’s worth a visit for those alone.

Took my boyfriends mom and two sisters here this weekend. It was a wonderful establishment with a fantastic wine selection. The steak sandwich was excellent as well. The service was attentive, knowledgeable about the selections, and friendly. Overall, a fantastic experience and I am currently making plans to bring our friends here soon!

We visited this Winery last weekend. Overall, we had an excellent experience. The Hostess Jaqueline was very accommodating and welcoming. She ushered us to our Tasting station where Michelle explained the wines as we tasted. Michelle is young, and new to the winery, but she had a good knowledge, and was open to suggestions and learning herself. We were a little surprised to learn that not all wine grapes were grown at this winery, as the vineyards are still being established. Some wines were made from California grapes, some had grapes from other Virginia vines. I guess that is why we enjoyed the wines so much! The outdoor seating areas are very comfy, and we stayed all afternoon drinking in the wine, scenery and music. They had an excellent acoustic guitar player. I would suggest that they add more umbrellas, as not all seating areas had them, and it was very hot in the sun. The food selections for sale were somewhat limited and quite expensive ($12 for Boursin). Many folks brought coolers with their own fare. I would certainly recommend that. My biggest complaint (hence 4, not 5 stars) is that there were many families with many small children running around. The place had a Day Care feeling. When I think of spending an afternoon at a winery (and spending big $) I anticipate a tranquil, adult only environment. Overall, I would recommend this place, and I will plan to return next time I visit Leesburg.

My mom and I are both wine club members and we truly enjoy coming here after we ride our horses. It can definitely be crowded at times but the staff response is responsive when we are able to make it to the counter. The Harvest Barn is family and pup friendly while the Tower View Tasting Room is meant for those over 21.

The views are amazing!! The property is stunning and the staff friendly and accommodating. I spent the afternoon listening to music and enjoying the wine! They have a lovely selection that even as a die hard red wine fan enjoyed their Rose`. If you are in Leesburg it's a must! Oh and I forgot to mention their food is amazing and the stone fired pizza was perfect!

My two best friends and I had just met in the area for brunch and then decided it would be nice to visit a winery we had not been to before and enjoy a bottle of wine. Picked it based on a 'top ten wineries in Leesburg', and this winery was #2. I can't remember which winery came up as #1, but we picked this one because it would be new to all three of us. We were greeted by one of the manager (Cort) who was more than happy to direct us to the tasting counter. Since we knew we wanted a bottle, we just tasted two of the reds and went with the Wild Boar Pinot Noir (2016). It.was.wonderful. The Cab Sav was good too, and we will definitely return to try other wines.

This was my first visit to Stone Tower Winery. The woman pouring the wines was delightful - we had a fabulous time. The wines were wonderful, too. Although I could have purchased more wine, I chose 2 sparkling wines. I would highly recommend this one.

We stopped here on a day trip to the Leesburg area after seeing it on TripAdvisor. We could not believe how many cars were in the parking lot on a cold February afternoon. It was packed and the guy who did our tasting said it was not any more crowded than usual. They are very family friendly - live music, lots of places to sit upstairs and down, and free face painting, which our kids loved. They definitely want you to get comfortable and stay a while. We really enjoyed the ambiance and could have stayed longer but needed to get on the road. Would love to go back with other couples or for a girls' day!

Attended a 50th birthday party in a private room. The service and wine were wonderful. The winery is located on a beautiful piece of property and there appeared to be lots of people enjoying themselves both inside and outside. We will return when we can experience the actual tasting rooms.

Stone Tower is not just a beautiful setting like many wineries are, but the facility itself, the furnishings, the staff and the WINE are all outstanding! As estate club members we get to do many special events, access the tower club and enjoy special wines. We love spending sunny Friday afternoons outside on the patio with friends, food and excellent wines!

My wife, daughter, and I recently visited Stone Tower, after an absence of several years. Despite a slight drizzle, we had an excellent experience. The staff member who handled our tastings was knowledgeable and gave us an expanded set of tastings of reds and whites, all exceptional. The grounds are spacious and offer visitors a wide range of outdoor seating to enjoy the views.

Don't walk run to the tower, beautiful facility, picturesque landscapes, delicious Pizza you can't stop at just one. The wine is some of the best in Virginia. Join the wine cub ASAP.
Even with its great size, winery was cozy and fun
Winery had a resort feel with the separate venues and grand views. We enjoyed the tasting at the 21+ tower, but appreciated the options for others there with children and dogs. There was plenty of seating inside and outside and the tasting bar had lots of space for various sized groups. I also appreciated the hooks under the bar for purses. The wines were overall good. Each member of my party found one they enjoyed.
It was tough to decide on seating with options by the large fireplaces, conversational couches, or tables inside or on the patio and deck. A wedding was also happening in the back, so we were able to watch from the distance. Staff was friendly and training others to be the same for the approaching fall season. The large parking lot was also a positive. The food menu was limited, so may bring more treats from home next time.
Enjoy this beautiful spacious location!
