Oh Wow, what a great place to visit, not just because of Elvis's association, so much more went on here. Very interesting. Well worth a visit, and they are still making records all these years later.

Anyone who even remotely considers themselves lovers of rock n roll, rockabilly, blues, the British Invasion, or really any contemporary music needs to visit Sun Studio in Memphis! Unquestionably the birthplace of rock n roll, Sun Studio is overflowing with accounts of the first recordings of superstars like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins… the list goes on! And to add to the historical accounts, several of the very instruments, microphones, and recording consoles used by these artists are still there! To top it all off, our tour guide, an impressively knowledgable and personable young musician himself named Graham, fully immersed us in the experience with his presentation of the studio’s rich and seemingly boundless history. Not to be missed by anyone who visits Memphis even if only for a couple days!

Our tour guide Graham was incredible. He weaved together interesting pieces of musical history with powerful storytelling that not only inspired, but reminded us of why we came to Memphis in the first place. If you’re a musician, or an appreciator of American music, we highly recommend this tour that feels like you’re backstage to the most integral musical moments in history.

Sun Studio... the legendary Sun Studio! Coming from Montreal, it is a long way from home... but it has been on my bucket list for so many years! The feeling of opening that door... I felt I was walking in a history book....
We were lucky enough to have Hurley as a tour guide. Guys, this man knows how to keep a group happy! He was knowledgeable, soooo nice and funny too! He explained the whole story while we were visiting the second floor. Then, when we got into the studio itself, Hurley told us so many stories... There is so much history between those 4 walls.
Worth every penny! Hope for you you'll get Hurley too!!

Like so many good facility tours, the sun studio tour leaves you with so much more interesting information that leaves you wanting more. Alexis, our tour guide is passionate and enthusiastic about her love for music and the history of it. Even though the facility is relatively small, she definitely managed approximately 20 visitors on our tour and kept everyone well informed about the development and history of the studio, which contains so much in the way of photographs and memorabilia. What made it all the more interesting was while she was describing a particular artist or song, Music would come piped in for a short period that really gave you the feeling of being in the thick of it. It’s amazing that they were able to reclaim and re-create the facility after it was no longer a recording studio. One last thing, even if you’re not an Elvis Presley devotee, being in the same studio with the very microphone that Elvis used for his very first hit, single was pretty cool.

I was so excited that I was able to do this tour! I went in the morning and wasn’t able to get the first tour (which I needed because I had an 11:45 tour at Graceland) but the two women at the front desk helped me decide what time would be better for me and got in the last tour of the day! Hurley was my tour guide and was so full of fun facts and really made the tour even more entertaining that it already would be! Had such a good time and even got a trivia question right about Johnny Cash! Highly recommend if you’re not already planning on it!

Our visit to Sun Studio was the perfect way to end our road trip from Gatlinburg to Memphis before flying home. We had been looking forward to this stop the entire journey, and it was somehow even better than we’d hoped it would be.

The highlight of our tour was our incredible guide, Alexis. She was warm, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable. She brought the history of Sun Studios to life in a way that felt personal and meaningful. Her love for music and the legacy of the studio was clear in every story she told. It’s clear that this isn’t just a job for her; it’s truly her passion.

At the end of the tour, we were genuinely surprised to learn that she was still new, and ours was only her sixth tour. We would have never guessed. She carried herself with the knowledge and enthusiasm of someone who had been leading tours for years.

Sun Studio is a must-visit for music lovers, but Alexis helped make our experience something truly special. This tour was not only a highlight of Memphis, but a highlight of our entire trip.

Tons of behind-the-scenes information. Lots of knowledge and enthusiasm from our tour guide Josh Hurley. Parking however is a little awkward as once you find some studio you have to drive past it and find a road going around behind the building to park.

One of the highlights if not THE highlight of our Memphis trip. We had a tour led by Josh Hurley and he was excellent. Very energetic, fun, and I loved that he played songs on his iphone (connected to speakers in the museum) that connected with the part of the history that he was speaking about. Really brought things to life. Even though the price for a tour may seem a bit steep at first, I definitely recommend this tour. You truly get to see where so much magic happened!

This was definitely a highlight to our visit in Memphis. I saw the other positive reviews and knew we should check it out. Getting tickets on the site was straightforward. The store has a nice selection of souvenirs and they also have French Trunk coffee, which is good coffee. Our tour was led by Drew - it was very engaging, informative and fun - he did an excellent job, I especially enjoyed the Johnny Cash guitar strumming example. Thank you!

Sun Studio is an incredible experience! Our guide Graham is a phenomenal storyteller and truly brought history to life. History tours of any kind can sometimes be really specialized or esoteric, but his tour was very accessible and SUPER interesting. He was able to give color and context to the items that were on display in ways that were really compelling.

The studio proper is really cool to see, with lots of instruments, amps, and microphones. Graham played on Jerry Lee Lewis's piano as we walked into the space, which really highlighted that Sun Studio isn't a shrine to the past, it's a working studio that musicians still use.

All in all it was an incredible place to visit, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Memphis!

We visited Sun Studio on 1st Sept 2025. Graham the guide at the studio was so good, informative & entertaining even played us a tune on the piano. It was so moving being where so many iconic tunes & artists have recorded. Great visit thank you x

Amazing experience! Mr. Josh Hurley was one of the most professional tour guides I’ve ever had and he managed to put a lot of effort, information and soul into the tour. It’s as if the walls could speak, everything seems to be in place mostly as it was 60-70 years ago. A good hour for 20$, the crowd was maybe 15 people, very recommended!

The Sun Studios tour this morning was a highlight of our trip! Josh Hurley guided our tour sharing the rich music history with true passion…loved all the special details he shared! Learned so much I didn’t know and could feel the energy of the legends who spent time here. Didn’t want to leave! Thanks to the Josh and the team!

Hurley was outstanding tour guide, really new his history made you feel part of the tour plus we were there to celebrate our 25th anniversary overall we were pleased with the experience. Hurley again was awesome you can tell he love his work.

We toured Sun Records today during our visit to Memphis. It was a fantastic experience only enhanced by our guide, Hurley! His energy was only outdone by the decades of energy left by the artists who have come and gone from the building.

Fabulous slice of music history and a must-do follow on to Graceland. Wonderful to visit the place it started and to know more about Sam Phillips. What a legacy! A shout out to our guide Hurley who made the tour come alive. And got a great t-shirt souvenir to boot!

Parking was a challenge as the lot behind the site was not well marked or easily accessible. Once set, the tour through the museum was informative and historic. It was a bit short compared to the fee charged but there was ample time for photos and questions from a very knowledgeable guide. Worth the visit if you're a music fan.

Took my kids on vacation and had to stop again at Sun Studio in Memphis from SW Florida. Our guide was Josh Hurley. A+! He was extremely knowledgeable of the history, full of interesting facts, and could tell he really loved his job. We love the rich history of the place. We will be back again.

It's part of the myth. The visit is short but it is instructive. And then to be in this magical place where the greatest musicians played it's still extraordinary

As a longtime fan of Johnny Cash, I knew in Memphis that we HAD to go to Sun studios to see where he started.
It did not disappoint, such a confluence of music in this whole area. Wonderful displays peppered with music to give the full experience. Even go to got inside the actual studio!
The cherry on top of it all was Josh Hurley our tour guide, with his butter smooth southern drawl, and his passion and enthusiasm for music.

If you love rock n roll, then a visit (or more appropriately a pilgrimage) to Sun Studio is a must. This is where it all began. To stand where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and Sam Phillips created the music that would change the world is an amazing experience. It truly is hallowed ground.
We arrived shortly after it opened and got tickets for the 1030 tour. You cannot get advance tickets on line so get there early for your preferred time- even if you want to tour later in the day. There is a free parking lot behind the building otherwise there appears to be ample street parking.
The tour ran about an hour. Our guide, Josh Hurley, was fantastic!! His knowledge of the studio, its history, and the artists who recorded there was exceptional. Even more so, he is passionate about Sun Studio and clearly loves sharing it with visitors. We had a great chat with him afterwards and he showed us a guitar Marty Stuart had donated. Thank you, Josh!!
There is plenty of opportunity to take pictures in and around the studio. There are instruments around that you can play. Strumming a few chords in front of a microphone in the center of the studio or playing a few notes on the piano underneath a photo of the million dollar quartet are things we’ll never forget.

We loved our tour of Sun Studio. Alexis did a great job & was an very engaging guide. It was the perfect end to our girls week.

So glad we did the tour - totally worth it. SHOUT OUT TO GEOFF for the great energy and informational tour he gave us! I learned so much and from a life long Elvis fan - Sun Studio may have been my favorite part of our Memphis trip. Memphis is more than just Elvis, and the staff at Sun did a great job showcasing that history.

This was a big time bucket list item for me and I had the good fortune of having Hurley as our your guide. What could have been a bland explanation of the exhibits behind the Perspex came alive as Hurley painted us a wonderful canvas of what Sam Phillips achieved with Sun in a southern drawl that was like having sweet molasses poured into your ears. His enthusiasm, storytelling and reverence really helped bring the whole thing alive and I thank Hurley for making a bucket list trip just that little bit extra special. Bonus points for knowing The Stone Roses too

Very interesting and fun tour. Our tour guide Mark was phenomenal!!! We went for the 10:30 tour — first tour of the morning. We had a small tour group of 18. Lots of time to explore and take pictures.The tours later in the morning were much larger and sold out. Definitely worth a visit, but I recommend the earliest tour of the day.

At first, I did not think I would enjoy this very much. Going into the place, we were warmly greeted by the staff. We had LYDIA for our tour guide. Lydia was great.... but Ican't say she gave a "tour" - for me, it was more a religious experience. I actually got emotional and choked up... something I HAD NOT anticipated.
This is a MUST EXPERIENCE for Memphis!!!!

It is so rare these days that you get personalized tours of museums or similar sites. What this place lacks in size, it more than makes up in personality. Graham the Piano Man was our guide and he was FANTASTIC. He spoke about historical events with an authentic enthusiasm that made it seem like he was there to see it himself. I also want to give a special kudos for how he featured Marion Keisker. The criticism has been made in the past that she is a rather forgotten or poorly appreciated figure in music history, which isn't uncommon of the time period, but Graham paid particular attention to her on a few occasions throughout the tour. Everyone on the support staff were super friendly and had great vibes. This is both affordable and a must for any music fan visiting Memphis.

The Ops Manager, Mr Zach Ozburn, really went out of his way to make this, my 9th Sun Studio tour, extra special.
Our guide, Llana, was delivering only her 2nd tour and, with endearing nervousness, she did great.
Plenty of knowledge delivered with a giggle or 2.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Our tour of Sun Studio was amazing! Our tour guide Josh Hurley was knowledgable, funny, and brimming with enthusiasm. He clearly cares about the history and musical legacy of Sun Studio. Josh got everyone involved in the tour; we even sang "I Walk the Line" together while standing where Johnny Cash stood to record that song almost 70 years ago. It was an experience we will never forget. Everyone should add this experience to their Memphis itinerary. Be sure to ask when Josh is giving tours; he's a rock star guide!

If you're into music at all, Sun Studio is a MUST VISIT kind of place. Young Mr. Hurley was our tour guide. From his appearance to his knowledge, his delivery was heart-felt. It was humbling just to be within the walls of where greats like Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins recorded some of their early hits. You won't regret your visit to this historical place!

We visited sun studios 7th sept 2025, we had the pleasure of meeting our tour guide Kirsty, this lady knew her stuff and shared so many wonderful and amazing stories about sun studios & a lot of the legends and artists that have recorded there. I would highly recommend this when you visit Memphis. Thank you very much Kirsty, this is an experience I’ll always remember, especially singing in to the mic that elvis himself sang in to.

A terrific experience. Hurley was our tour guide and he did a fantastic job. Very knowledgeable and very personal. He shared stories of the exhibits and recording artists that we'd have never know by just looking at the pictures and exhibits. At the end of the tour he stayed until every customer had a chance to ask questions and for my questions went beyond jusy what I had asked to provide additional context. I highly recommend this tour and hope that you get Hurley.

I was excited to visit this historic place. My husband was worried he’d be bored. Not the case! Our group tour guide was Hurley. His enthusiasm was contagious & his knowledge was right on target. We had a great time. Nice souvenir items in the shop as well. Don’t miss this if you’re visiting Memphis.

I get that not everyone is a fan of music, early rock & roll, and (in particular) Elvis in the way I am BUT--if you're in Memphis, none of that will matter. Please prioritize this stop! It's an amazing experience hanging out in THE room where it all started, holding the microphone the early greats did, and learning a lot--all in about a half hour and at a really reasonable price! One more thing--our tour guide, ALEXIS GRACE, is as good a tour guide I've had in any kind of museum, show, or teaching. Kudos to her for keeping all ages and backgrounds engaged!

Our tour guide, Hurley, was really fantastic. He gave an immersive guided tour that swept us away into the early days of the studio and Rock-n-Roll itself. This Memphis native had the most delightful accent and was able to incorporate his own interactions with some of the characters of the story. The guys who sold us our tickets (Josh Shaw of the band Black Hippie and another whose name I didn't catch!) were also incredibly helpful, and advised us to head to the Cooper-Young neighborhood the next day, which didn't disappoint! We were able to find street parking fairly easily on a Friday afternoon. All in all - a great tour!

You can't leave Memphis without visiting Sub Studios. Very interesting and maintained as they were at the beginning they have not lost their charm, indeed they have increased it because they have been able to maintain the authenticity of the site. I absolutely recommend it. The guided tour starts frequently, I think every hour, and lasts about 45/50 minutes with time at the end to take pictures. When you enter there is the old bar that today has become a ticket office and store of beautiful gadgets and for all budgets

Took a tour today with friend who is a local. We all agreed the tour was incredible and Alexis was perfect as our guide. It was incredible to stand where the greats have stood.

My daughter and I were on a girls trip in Memphis and this tour was on our to do list. We loved it!! So much great info and our guide was tremendous!!

Was in Memphis for the day. One of my favorite shows on NCL cruiseline Iis Million Dollar Quartet. When I realized Sun Studios was close by, I knew I had to experience. I was able to get a ticket for the next tour $20. Our tour guide, Hurley was all in and excited to tell the history of all that happened in Sun Records. It is a very well kept museum, full of record industry artifacts.

Great visit and tour today with Drew as our guide. He was very entertaining as well as informative and educational. The studio is preserved as it was in the 50s even though it is still actively recording. Go early on the day you want to tour to buy tickets as they only sell on the day of and all tours are first-come, first-served. At 10:30 they were already sold out for the 11:30 tour, but we had planned ahead for a 2:30 tour. Tours last about 45 minutes, and their shop has some great stuff, including classic vinyl records available for sale. Unfortunately, the old 1950s-era building (originally built in the 30s) is not disability-friendly and you have to climb and descend stairs without an elevator available.

This is definitly a must do when in Memphis , the tour itself only takes around an hour or so but its packed with history , some of the biggest names in music have been here and so many interesting stories to listen to from the guide

I've paid for so many tours all over the map and know that the guide is always your key to either a good or mediocre experience. With extensive knowledge, passion and good humor; Hurley was great!

This was a once in a lifetime experience. If you love any sort of popular music then you must visit here. Oh, and you can pose with a 50's microphone.

What an amazing experience at Sun Studio! Llama was our tour guide and she was the best!! She was engaging and knowledgeable and made the tour fun!! Being in that recording studio was emotional for me!! The energy of Elvis and all the musicians was amazing!!

I wanted to share high praise for both the Sun Studio Tour and our incredible docent, Alexis Grace. This tour is an absolute must for any music fan. Alexis was a fantastic guide—not only because of her deep knowledge of the studio and its legendary history, but also because she’s a musician herself. Her perspective brought an added layer of meaning to the experience, going beyond just listing who recorded there and when. She helped us understand the true impact Sun Studio has had on the music industry. (And yes—she's a Johnny Cash fan!)

My family and I went to Sun Studios to do a tour while we were in Memphis. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Hurley, our tour guide was fabulous!

A scam. $20 for a 30-minute tour, exclusively in English. No demonstration. Visit the way fast. Only commercial and soulless.

Had a guide called Alexis who really knew her stuff and could play the guitar… Made the tour really enjoyable. Learnt a lot about the start of Johnny Cash and Elvis and Sam Phillips. The memorabilia around was amazing and the fact everything had been restored to the way it was. Well worth a visit.

We went and toured Sun Studio Friday 9/19/25. Our tour guide Drew did a great job giving us a behind the scenes tour to this historic studio that was the backdrop to many great artists. His insights were terrific and standing in the same room as Elvis and Johnny Cash truly gave me goosebumps! Thank you!

We are from South Africa and love music. This place was definitely at the top and if we ever come back we will definitely do this again. Our tour guide was Josh and he was absolutely amazing he was so full of life, energy and fun!!!! We haven’t experienced anything like this tour before. Definitely one of the best places to go!

I’ve done the Sun tour multiple times and it’s always a slightly different experience, in all good ways. Josh Hurley did an awesome job, catering to a crowd with diverse backgrounds, all while keeping the spirit of Sun the same. This is probably my 4th or 5th time on the tour and it’s the first one where I was almost in tears with how freaking cool this place was, in large part due to the passion Josh brought to the tour.

We highly recommend the Sun Studios tour! This place lives and breathes rock ‘n’ roll history. Our tour guide, Graham, was funny, entertaining, and informative. This was one of the best tours we have experienced. Don’t miss it!

My mom, grandmother, and I recently visited Memphis. We loved every bit of our trip and especially enjoyed our stop at Sun Studios. Our guide Hurley was amazing, his passion and appreciation for music radiated through out tour. Sun Studios is a step back in time to a breath of fresh air.

As native Memphians, my son and I attended a Sun Studio tour with Hurley as our tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned much more than we expected. It was surreal to stand where musical greats made history. Hurley is a great orator and made the tour interactive and fun. He was able to engage a shy group of people and had us all wearing big smiles when we left. My son and I spent our drive home talking about all the things we learned during the tour and listening to Johnny Cash. I highly recommend this tour for everyone!

On a bus tour we visited Sun Recording studio for a tour. A young man named Graham gave us the most awesome tour. He was so enthusiastic and humble we hated when it was over. He even played us a song on the piano he should be on stage as that young man can play a piano. You won’t go wrong if you tour Sun Studio it is great!!!

We passed by one day and took photos, then the last day of our vacation decided to take the tour and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. So much history, so many cool stories. Take an early tour, not too crowded, relaxed. We were lucky to have Graham as our tour guide, his knowledge and passion were contagious!

This was a fantastic experience! Our tour guide, Drew, was enthusiastic, talented and knew his stuff. A relative of mine worked with the recording studio back in the later 50s and they new so much about him, even more than us! If you're in town and have an hour to spare I highly recommend you do the guided tour and see the area.

We toured Sun Studio on Monday, 27th Oct. Alexis Grace was amazing. She knew all the history behind the studio and who recorded there. It was great to see how the recording industry truly got its start. How Sam Perkins knew Elvis needed a bigger label. Sold his contract to RCA. He also, secretly recorded the Million Dollar Quartet. Kept those recording secret until the right time. To prevent being sued by RCA. It was a very informative tour. Thank You Alexis Grace.

Great history of music and sings that got their start in Memphis. You are spend as much time as like looking and reading a out the rich history of music.

Josh Hurley was our guide and he made the tour a special experience! He got into character during the tour and took great pride in explaining Sun Studio’s importance in music history. He KNOWS HIS STUFF about the music, Founder Sam Phillips, and all the musicians that have recorded there over the years. He also did a great job explaining the vintage/original gear that was used since the day it opened years ago.

We had been looking forward to going here. We felt the group for the tour was far too big so we couldn't see everything properly. Drew was a good guide but we feel was a bit expensive for what we saw.

We arrived there 10 minutes before a tour and were lucky enough to join it. Josh Hurley was the perfect guide. He told about a time that would affect music in the future in a fantastic way. He delivered all the information with passion and you just wanted to hear more.
To be in a place where time has stood still and where so many stars have performed their music. It was powerful to stand in a place where Elvis stood. To touch the handle on the door that all the stars had taken in before. To feel the microphone used by so many stars. We can definitely recommend a visit there. You don't leave unmoved. Thank you Josh for a fantastic tour from two Swedes.

This is our third visit to sun records and it never disappoints. This year we took my mother for the first time. What an amazing experience. This is our best visit so far thanks to Hurley, our tour guide. He was so energetic, passionate and knowledgeable. He truly belongs in this environment. He got the crowd going! What a pleasure!! Thank you Hurley! We plan to be back next summer and we hope he is there!!! This is a must see/do if you are in Memphis!

Such a thrill to visit this milestone of music. The tour we took was informative and entertaining. The tour guide, Alexis Grace was fabulous, witty, talented and energetic. She, literally, made the tour content come to life!

Didn’t know what to expect here, Alexis Grace told some fabulous stories and brought to life the studios and its many famous visitors. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and got a little taste of what it was like back in the day. Well worth a visit. Took lots of photos of the memorabilia and love the story of the million dollar quartet.

We had an amazing guide, Hurley. He was so enthusiastic, passionate, informative and a lot of fun. We learned a lot about the studio, how Elvis got his start. We really enjoyed all the stories told.

We arrived after lunch and the place was heaving, with a 1.5 hr wait to join the next public tour. We didn’t have time to wait so we just viewed the public parts and then left. I guess it is their business model and that’s fine, but we were on a schedule and 1.5hrs sitting there wasn’t ever going to be an option. So we can’t give a full review. But the public parts are interesting and the history speaks for itself.

My second visit which did not disappoint. Drew our tour guide was excellent, definite 10/10. Great vibe, very informative and obviously loves what he does ❤️ Thank you Drew 😊

This place was awesome. We parked around the back for free, and the staff were very welcoming. The tours are every hour on the half hour and we just turned up and paid for the next tour at 1.30. You'll only be there for about an hour but it was by far one of the best tours I've been on, especially being in the studio where so much history has taken place. I would thoroughly recommend.

Very good exhibition of the history of Sun Studio and their influence in the music business. Our tour guide Liz was very knowledgeable, passionate and made it an unforgettable experience.

We got there ahead of opening (10 am) to secure tickets as you cannot book in advance/online. First tour started at 10:30. Quite a lot of people on the first tour. Tour lasted only 40 minutes and cost $20 each. Very inspiring and informative.

I had a great time and learned a lot about this great piece of American history and music. The experience would not have been the same without the tour by expert guide HURLEY! Hurley had knowledge and panache in spades. He is not just giving a tour he is embodying this era and helping to make history, feel alive! Nice job Hurley. My work paid for the tour which made it easy to leave a generous tip ;)

I’d give it 4.5 if I could, only negative is we felt a bit rushed. We like to thoroughly look at and absorb the displays and surroundings. Could not be happier with our tour guide Hurley! Such passion and pride in his work. He was a delight. Very glad we took the tour, we learned a lot.

Out Tour Guide, Lydia, was fantastic! Infectious enthusiasm and very knowledgeable. Her first-hand account of creating exhibits, like the retrieval and preservation of Dempsey Phillip's broadcast booth, really added to the tour!

Drew was a great tour guide! He made the experience interesting and was very knowledgeable about the attraction. Parking may be scarce so take that into consideration. Went on a Saturday so I was able to park on the street within a couple hundred feet. Also, part of the tour requires climbing up/down stairs so if it may not be the most accessible for those with disabilities. The main studio is at ground level so that part would be accessible.

Absolutely awesome experience touring the birthplace of rock and roll! This experience was made even greater by our fabulous tour guide. Graham Winchester, a talented musician in his own right. We had a fantastic experience on the 12 o'clock tour in August. The studio is beautiful, with a shop and a bar, and filled with original posters, photos, and various music memorabilia. Our guide was Hurley, a charismatic young man who was great at combining explanations with entertaining the audience in true rock 'n' roll fashion. The tour price is modest; it's absolutely worth it. Visiting Sun Studios has been something on my bucket list for a number of years. We visited on Tuesday 14th October, there was me and my son who has just turned 21, and this was part of his birthday present. He’s a musician so this was a no brainer for the pair of us.
Our tour guide was a gent called Mark Edgar Stuart who was so knowledgeable about the place and really cool with it too. We asked Mark a number of questions which he was more than helpful to answer and my son even got to play guitar which is something I’ll never forget. Thank you Mark!
Amazing place that’s a must visit for anyone remotely into music. We had one of the best times.

This is a can’t miss experience in Memphis, especially if you are a music lover. Our tour guide, Graham, was fabulous. He was fun, and knowledgeable and a talented musician as well. (He played Jerry Lee Lewis’ actual piano, if not better than, at least as well as, the original owner). The importance and the history of rock and roll cannot be overestimated. We had a totally enjoyable and upbeat tour with visitors from around the country and around the world.

Graham gave us a terrific rock n roll tour of the studios. He was very knowledgeable, full of anecdotes and fun facts and brought the rich, cultural history to life. Can whole heartedly recommend a visit. Hourly tours on half hour-get your tickets in plenty of time. Terrific value

My friend and I went to sun studios for her birthday. Josh Hurley was our tour guide! He was a blast and went above and beyond when he found out my friend was a massive Elvis fan! If you have a choice to pick your tour guide get him! He’s the sweetest a ton of fun and you will learn a lot about the wonderful history of sun records and the artists. Worth every penny! This was one of our favorite tours in Memphis! Josh Hurley, our guide, was full of energy and enthusiasm about the studio. He made the tour fun and interesting. Several guests had smaller kids and he included them and made them feel part of the tour. The morning was busy and it may be fewer guests in the afternoon. There is limited parking behind the studio.

This tour was well worth your time and money!! On the plus side our guide, Graham was exceptional. His knowledge on the history of the building and the artists went above and beyond. The song he played on the piano was top notch!!

A must see for all Memphis music fans. Our tour guide, Alexis, was so knowledgeable and provided incredible insight to the early days of recording.

On my road trip across the USA from Key West to Vancouver, Canada, my goal was to see as many unique places and things in America that I could think of. When leaving New Orleans I decided I needed to see Graceland and hear the music along Beale St., so I headed North to Memphis. Saw Graceland on the Saturday, and maybe because I had such high expectations, I suppose I set myself up to be let down. First there was the sticker shock for admission, and then the coldness of the tour - I wandered through, read the signs, then loaded out on the bus pretty quick. Don't know exactly what I had expected, but I wasn't feeling it. All I had seen was a house where Elvis once lived.

The next day I went to Sun Studios just to kill time, but that's where I got my Elvis experience, and I was blown away! Drove up and spotted the building and parked thinking I'd get a few pictures and take off. When inside, I signed up for the tour that was going to start in 20 minutes and then started looking around at all the pictures on the walls and couldn't believe the people, the legends, who were in them and had come and gone through this place. This building then started feeling different.

At the start of the tour we were all led upstairs into one big room with glassed in photo displays, guitars and other memorabilia of Elvis and other artists. Our guide, Josh Hurley, then started up taking us all around the room and relating the stories behind the displays and performers and how they all fit into Sun Studio history. After that we all filed back downstairs into the recording studio, a room that hadn't changed since Elvis first went in. Hurley described everything about the room, about people who had played there, and told us about the picture on the wall showing Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Sam Perkins gathered around the piano where they, just a group of buddies, had come together one night to hangout and sing (and probably have a few drinks). The music that night had been recorded but not released for many years due to the various contractual obligations with other recording companies some had. They were called the "Million Dollar Quartet"! And then a tour bonus, Hurley brought out the microphone that was used by Elvis and all other performers way back then when they were recording. What a souvenir that would be!

After hearing all the stories shared during the tour and ending up in that small recording studio room, I was able to imagine how it would have been back in those days and couldn't believe I was in the same place where Elvis, Johnny, Jerry Lee, Sam and many other greats had hung out and recorded their hits.

Sun Studios is a small building but has a huge WOW factor and impact. Again, I couldn't believe I was in the place where so much music history had happened. That weekend, that's where I got my "Elvis experience" and it only cost me $20 bucks. Cheaper than the charge for parking at Graceland.

If you are are in Memphis for any reason, don't miss visiting Sun Studio.

Tennessee Nashville, Memphis, Franklin, Knoxville In two weeks " In December " best time to go....Why ? NO crowds. Cooler yes but all of your planned tours are more intimate. These where our bucket list things to do for my wife and I, Sun studios was a pleasant "surprise!" We were just going to drive by then figured we should go in and take the tour. Drew was our tour guide he was enthusiastic and full if information explaining tidbits of stuff we were not aware of, with just 6 people on the tour. He was willing to chat afterwards with us, which was very giving of him and showing how passionate and proud they are about having such an iconic piece of music history in their town. In the Graceland mansion we had the similar experience we lucked out and had our own tour guide alone with the whole house to our selves, so intimate and informative. Pay for the UVIP tour it is worth your time. You get to review and touch artifacts of Elvis. "After all you are only going once." Sun Studios was just as Iconic with Drew !... Sun Studio is an amazing Time Capsule, a shrine to so many of Memphis's legendary musical artists. Still a working studio, the instruments, the gear, all hark back to a day when real musicians made real music that was raw and authentic, and it grooved so hard.

The tour was great fun. And DREW did a wonderful job of succinctly taking us through the studio, the history, and the amazing bits of trivia that made this visit a genuine joy!

This is a must for music fans, musicians and history buffs! This small place was huge for rock-n-roll music and American culture and our guide, Graham - the best guide in our opinion - did an excellent job of explaining it's significance while making it so entertaining in the short time of the tour. We were so engrossed with the tour we talked with Graham for probably 30 minutes after. He was so genuinely enthusiastic about the stories, and since he's a musician, he has a real appreciation of the history. This was the highlight of our Memphis trip and that's saying something with all the Memphis attractions. When we return to Memphis we're doing this tour again!

An amazing intimate experience. Lovers of music and history will both love this tour. Long enough to teach you about the amazing history of the place but short enough that even the most inattentive person will remain engaged. Our tour guide Josh was the highlight. Very knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about the subject matter with a real southern charm to boot! A must do for everyone going to Memphis. In terms of accessibility though I would say you need to be able to climb stairs independently.

What a fantastic tour we had with Hurley. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Sun Studio and the artists that recorded there. It was great fun to hear some music recordings and a special treat to hear what is recognized as the first recorded rock and roll song. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and there is ample time at the end to take pictures in the studio and "sing" a few notes into the mic used by Elvis.

Josh Hurley gave my mom and I a fantastic tour of Sun studio… I’m a musician so it was even more meaningful to me to stand in the same places that the greats like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins,Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, and so many more stood. It was almost like standing on “holy ground”. Ok not really but it was pretty freaking awesome!! The studio was abandoned in the 50s and they opened it up and it turned it into a museum as well as a recording studio. Jerry Lee Lewis‘s piano is still there !

Our tour guide, Alexis, was exellent. She was a Memphonian and musician and had so much knowledge about the history of the studio. I also really appreciated her curated soundtrack. I wish we had a bit more time to ask questions, but that is a minor complaint. Overall, the tour was well worth the price.

However, today this visit with Grahm Winchester literally had me sobbing. To think of the history and the historical events that took place in this very spot was overwhelming. My boyfriend wanted me to visit Sun Studios so we planned a stop in Memphis on our way back home from out west. Graham did a great job telling us the history of Sun Studios including the important people that made it great. There was time to take pictures and look at everything. Graham even played the piano to give us a feel for the sound in the room. What makes him so good as a tour guide is that he is a musician who absolutely loves the place. He even gave us recommendations for live music and where to pick up records. Great time

Me and my family arrived at Sun Studios for a 3:40pm tour on July 19th 2025, and just had the most amazing experience. Our Tour guide Hurley was just phenomenal. Really bringing the studio to life with lots of energy and knowledge. Showing you where everything in the building exactly happened. And involving the tour with the music that was created and produced there in the studio. It was just magical!!

This was our second trip to Sun Studio, but it was our son's first visit (he just graduated with his Masters Degree and this trip was his reward). We spent time in the gift shop area waiting for our tour and purchased a shirt and some other goodies. Josh Hurley was our tour guide, and he was sensational! You could tell that the studio is deeply important to him, and so is its place in history. Josh was friendly and fun, passionate about music, and gave a great tour. When the tour was over, we talked to him a bit and mentioned that our son was a drummer, so he says "Want to play the drums in the studio?"

Do you mean the drum set that U2 left behind after recording their album Rattle and Hum, and the set that Ringo Starr used to record one of his albums? Sure! Once the room cleared out, he handed our son a pair of sticks, and away he went. Our son was on cloud nine for the rest of the day, thank you Josh!

I grew up near Memphis, so I've been there probably 20 times, but not in a while. We went for 2 nights to see my niece & family. We were looking for something to do one afternoon & saw this & it got good reviews, so we went. MAN, I am so glad we did - - -it was outstanding - -- - exceeded expections. We had a guded tour by Graham, & dude, he was the best! Tons of old stories about what happened in certain spots in the studio & lots of photos, guitars, recordings, etc on site. I was expecting mostly Elvis, but he was just a part of it -- Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, BB King, Howling Wolf - - - there was a lot about all of them.

Overall, about as good as it gets for $20 & just an hour - - and not much walking, it's a pretty small place. Highly recommended.

The most amazing tour the knowledge that we just learnt the experience the feeling and Mark made the journey even more personable. He teleported us into the space into the time that music in rock ‘n’ roll again. I could not recommend this higher and if you’re lucky enough to have Mark, you’ve won the lottery. Amazing history with an excellent tour guide/musician! Highly recommend, Graham was excellent and brought tour to life. It really made us appreciate that we were in the exact spot where music history was made. The museum itself is small but excellent and left in a perfect state so that one could imagine the studio really being used to make history. Highly recommend, would go again with any other visitors.

For real music lovers, I can't recommend this tour highly enough. To be in one of the most iconic recording studios in the world brought tears to my eyes, and it was brought to life by Graham, our tour guide, whose knowledge and love of music shone through. An absolute must see.

What a cool and massive part of musical history that was created in only 10 short years. Hurley was incredible, dynamic and you can feel his passion for the history, the music, the people and the building itself. The tour was the best 30 minutes spent, learning all about the magic that was created there. The photo ops, storytelling and interactive bits all embellished the experience leaving us felling more than satisfied and absolutely charged up about the incredible music created there. I would say this is a must do and if we return to Memphis, we will do the tour again without a doubt. Thank you for providing more than just some tour of a building.. you made it a fun and immersive experience that we are still reflecting on. Seriously, go… it will be a highlight.

The tour was great, loved hearing all the history and the recording studio experience was super special. The price was affordable, and the convenient timing of tours going after 1.5 hours and only lasting about 40 minutes was perfect from a planning perspective. Our tour guide was “newer” and green when dealing with the public. She came across as “easily annoyed” and our group left feeling less than appreciated even after leaving a generous tip.

Reliving the history of Rock n Roll’s birth in Memphis never fails to entertain me but today’s tour guided by Hurley was next level. I felt Elvis and Johnny and Jerry Lee and Sam Phillips were in the building with us.

Had a great time at Sun Studio. To stand in the room where Rock n Roll started was the highlight of our family trip to Memphis for me. It’s a must-see site while in Memphis. Our tour guide Alexis was great at telling about the studio and the history of it. Ask to be in her group when you go.

This is a must do if you are in Memphis. The whole experience was jaw dropping. From the exhibits, being in the studio where so many of our favourites recorded their music alongside our fantastic guide Graham. He mesmerised is with stories and facts with amazing enthusiasm - you can tell he loves his job! We also got to stand in the spot that Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others stood whilst recording . With her effervescent charm, quick wit and lovely singing voice Llana hosted a fabulous tour of this music history gem. The entire staff was welcoming and kind. You don’t have to be a music fan to appreciate the significance of this location. At the very least you can enjoy a kick-ass cup of coffee for just three bucks! Myself and my sister went to do a tour of Sun Records on a gorgeous (albeit sweltering) day. From the time we stepped in, our host at the checkout/bar area welcomed us very warmly. (Unfortunately I can't remember his name but he was working on July 26th at 11:40am). Jeff the tour guide was absolutely brilliant, funny and knowledgeable. I was delighted with the whole thing, and took plenty of pictures of course. I highly recommend.

As a fan of many Sun Studio recording artists, I've been dreaming of visiting Sun Studio for a long time, and the tour did not disappoint. Absolutely brilliant place, great tour guide and items on display - and standing in the studio & holding the microphone that so many musicians I love have held was amazing. More than anything, I loved seeing that little door, where some of the greatest names in music history have gone through.

Our guide, Graham was entertaining and talented (a musician himself, he played the piano and guitar at times). Graham was as good as his word and stayed to answer questions, even nerdy, esoteric ones.

Last time i visited was in 1994, this time there is more to see and they have made it a real experience of learning the history of this iconic venue. As an Elvis fan , it was an amazing add on to Graceland, but you learn so much more of the history. Graham was our guide and he done a fantastic job telling the stories that captivates the imagination that takes you back in time. If you go to Memphis this is a must!

This was an incredible experience! The history of the tour along with the recordings were exceptional! Highly recommend! The tour guide Drew was knowledgeable, charismatic, and even sang for us! Great tour of about an hour in length with the tour guide Alexis Grace tying all the old rock and roll greats with the Sam Phillips recordings.
You will see many of the things that made the different music sounds of the day. Down to the recording studio with the million dollar quartet made their unknown recording.

It is truly iconic place to visit and the tour is very well done! You feel like you are taken back in time and are experiencing the music first hand. Our guide Graham was genuinely passionate about sharing the history and (I won’t ruin the surprise) extremely talented! Definitely worth visiting.

Had a great tour at Sun Studio today with friends. Our guide was Graham, and he was not only knowledgeable but played a "mean" piano. We had been on the same tour many years ago but this one was so much better!

The tour with Krista this morning was amazing. Learned a lot of music history we didn’t know before and got to stand in the place where so much of it was made. Krista was very engaging, knowledgeable, and funny. It’s not a huge place, so the tour takes a little less than an hour. Highly recommend!

One of the best tours we have ever done, while we knew this is where Elvis signed and recorded That's All Right that would make him the superstar he became, what we didn't know that bit was also to set up the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis and the Jan himself Johnny Cash to become the icons we know today.

Renditions of recordings from these icons were played and it was iconic to be able to stand where the song being played was first recorded.

A drum kit donated by Larry Mullen, and an original microphone from Sam Philips before he died were cool pieces to see and be able to touch.

The highlight was surely the information we learned about how Johnny Cash created the percussion for iconic songs such as Walk the Line, and Fulsom Prison, a truly unforgettable amazing experience in this small studio that has so much history!!!

We had a stellar tour led by Graham. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about how American music was fed and shaped by the Delta blues and gospel music and post-war American optimism, Graham's passion and energy brought those times to life. Graham was a terrific tour guide. My son and I left feeling sunny, optimistic and full or awe for American roots, the British invasion, rock n'roll, and the future.

Took the "Million Dollar Quartet Music Tour" on Oct. 20. Drew was an outstanding guide whose warmth, humor, and sing-alongs made for a highly engaging and fascinating tour through music history. He really made us feel welcome!

Graham gave us the best tour ever. This was my third trip to Sun records(in 25 years). I live locally and Graham’s knowledge,enthusiasm and especially his piano talent in the studio really made this historic place come alive!!!

So , the whole thing is a joke , the building lets totally come down.....the area is just crass empty abandoned buildings , I really can't understand the hype...tip ! On the way quickly by car to ..... some photos and then by by Memphis....who has not seen it , has not missed anything !

My husband and I took the tour of Sun Studios on June 18. What an experience!! Our guide, Josh Hurley, was knowledgeable, interesting and just amazing. I did not think the Sun Studio tour would be one of the highlights of our trip to Memphis, boy was I wrong! From the moment we entered the building we felt electrified. The amazing history, the story of Sam Phillips, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, etc. Mr Hurley brought the history to life. I cried, I laughed, I was mesmerized by the stories he told. I recommend the Sun Studios tour to anyone visiting Memphis. I don’t know if you can request a certain guide, but if you can, J. Hurley will not disappoint.

The tour was amazing! And that tour guide… he was very… enthusiastic. His handsome tall hair breezed as he walked down the stairs and through the halls. His southern accent had my little California heart beating so hard it matched the tempo of those Sun studio songs. I tried to pay attention but I kept getting lost in fantasy. I would highly recommend this tour and I will never forget my time with… Hurley.

We took a tour of the Sun Studio and our tour guide was Alexis Grace. She was funny, knowledgeable and made the experience even better. She answered all our questions and was very witty. Another visitor bragged about "claiming to know" some friend named Bill who took Elvis to Sun Studio the first time. He was very annoying. Later, Alexis got him good in the studio by demonstrating the dollar bill in guitar neck while playing guitar with Johnny Cash song (famous "Johnny Cash trick" to create a percussive, snare-drum-like "boom-chicka-boom" rhythm). After she was done, she said "I bet your friend didn't tell you that!". That scored points with us. We busted up laughing. We loved the tour and recommend Sun Studio as a required place to visit in Memphis TN.

Just visited with my wife on a weekend getaway from Detroit, we were on the fence and I'm so glad we decided to go. The venue itself is worth it if you are a music fan, history buff or both. Each tour is led by a guide and ours really put it over the top. Hurley made us feel like we were in the history of the place, his passion for music, the artists and the studio itself were unbridled and a joy to experience. Easily one of the top tours we've ever had anywhere and quite possibly #1. Do yourself a favor if you are in town call ahead and see if Hurley is working, if so get to to Sun Studios for his tour you not regret it! - Thanks Hurley for making the great music of Memphis come alive for a couple from Motown.

We always stop at Sun when we visit for Elvis week but decided to do the tour this year (our third time total over the years) and we weren't disappointed. We visited Sun Studios on a very hot afternoon and loved it. Parking at the back was plentiful and free. The studios are easy to find too.

Sun Studio completely blew me away. It’s such a sacred space where music history was made, and you can feel it the moment you walk in. Our guide, Drew was absolutely fantastic. His passion, energy, and storytelling brought everything to life and made the whole experience unforgettable.

Getting to hear the stories, stand in the same spot as legends, and even touch the doorknob and hold the microphone used by multiple icons was just surreal. Whether you’re a music buff, a history nerd, or just curious about the roots of rock and roll, this place is a must. I can’t recommend it enough. Truly one of the highlights of our trip!

Loving music, especially blues and rock and appreciating country, we were fascinated about how they intersected at Sun Studio, advancing the genres and careers of some of the greatest musicians of the 20th Century. For us, it was the unexpected details enlivened the stories: a chicken, a broken amp, smashed records and more.

Llana, our tour guide, combined her passion for music with her knowledge of the exhibits and history. She brought humor and a bright spirit to our tour. Many museum experiences are merely informational; Llana made it memorable!

We visited sun studios on our way out of Memphis recently and had the best experience. The shop staff and souvenir selection was great as well. Alexis provided the most fun, interesting and informative tour of the studio giving us a real flavor of what it must have been like back in the day. Thanks to an amazing, knowledgeable, approachable, and enthusiastic tour guide (props to Josh Hurley) we could really feel the vibes of all the music greats who recorded here. We never felt rushed, even though there was so much to see, hear, and absorb in a a very limited (but well laid out) space. Great gift shop with a broad selection and price range of items for sale. There was only one negative and I share it as a heads-up in hopes it will be helpful to someone looking to visit. The building that houses the studio is 1950's vintage and not ADA compliant ... steep stairs but no elevator. What a shame, since many early rock 'n roll music fans are living with mobility challenges.

This was an incredible experience for us! My husband and I are big fans of older country, gospel and rock n' roll, some of our favorite artists being Johnny Cash and Elvis. We loved hearing about the history of Sun Studios, as well as the history of the part it played in these artists' road to fame. Getting to see some of the original architecture and artifacts was awesome. Even our 8-year-old daughter enjoyed it. Our Sun Studios tour went beyond any of our expectations! Drew was engaging, knowledgeable, and upbeat and we would totally recommend him as a guide. The location has so much history and the authenticity hasn't been replaced with all the historical items behind glass like most museums do. Its a must see if in Memphis!

This is a great place to visit. Small in size but with authentic memorabilia, photos and of course the story of the studio and those who recorded there. Drew was our guide and he did a grand job - good story teller.

After Graceland went to Sun Studios and was very nice! Guide Alexia was fantastic and knew a lot to tell especially downstairs in the recording studio where epic songs and albums (U2 Rattle and Hum) were recorded. Nice experience!!

Do not miss this stop if you are In Memphis! Sun Studios is where Rock and Roll began. I have taken the RCA Studio B tour in Nashville, and that tour, while excellent, would be of no significance if it were not for Sam Phillips, Marion Keisker (look up who she was!) and the artists they recorded and nurtured at Sun Studios. Bravo to my tour guide Hurley for his insights into Sun Studios history and for keeping the tour fun for our group. As a retired music teacher, and continuing performer, I am pleased to give this tour my highest recommendation!

For us Baby Boomer rockers and anyone who loves the early rock music that launched us into a world with rock music this is holy ground. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, B.B. King - all of them recorded early works and Big hits here. Many others as well. The tour guide (Hurley) was a fun young fellow who dressed as though he was one of the band members and filled us in on history and lore and a number of pretty interesting technical details.

I saw this caution in another review: "you can not make a prior reservation. Tours are first come first served. And the place gets quite busy! I was there in January and it was quite crowded. " Take it to heart. We lucked out and went through just ahead of two tour busses that arrived just as our group was admitted. You may be able to call ahead and get a reading on how crowded it is pr is expected to be. Be prepared to enjoy it with a large group of strangers all crowded into very small spaces. It's a 50s shoe-string operation recording studio! Thank God they've preserved it pretty close to original stage. We had an absolute blast.

I took the first tour of the day on 10/29 with Alexis Grace. She was amazing!! She was engaging, informative and funny. I originally was not going to take the tour again (I was here in 2019 and just returned solo on business and wanted to get my stepson a shirt) but the vibes were so good inside I just had to go again. I’m so glad. It was memorable and I’m grateful to have been lucky to do it a second time. Alexis made it fun, laid back and exciting. I hope to be back again!!

The greatest tour I’ve ever been on, and I’ve done Machu Pichu, twice. Plenty of time to look around. The Sights, sounds, and smells my senses gathered were expertly guided by Liz.

I have lived in the Memphis area for 10 years and I finally went to Sun Studio when a relative came in from out of town. This place is a gem! Our tour guide Hurley was fantastic! His knowledge and love of the music and history of Sun Studios was contagious. The stories that he told were brilliantly interspersed with samples of the music of which he spoke. Most definitely worth the money and effort!

Sun studios itself was a really cool piece of musical history. Our tour guide was enthusiastic about music and the studios, but with the sheer number of people on the tour (approximately 30) it was extremely difficult to match the artifacts with what she was describing. In the first room, it was so crowded, I was shoved by others twice and it felt rushed. With six people (with the exception of the cashier selling tickets) behind the counter standing idly, you would think they could decrease the size of the groups. While I did learn a lot,the situation left a bad taste in my mouth.

On our way home, my friend and I stopped by Sun Studio and took the tour. Our guide was Graham, and I'm so glad it was! He was very informative, and his love for this place was undeniable. Absolutely an amazing experience! Well done, Sun Studio , well done!

I went 15 or so years ago and this version is so much better. So much more to see and experience. Graham, our tour guide was the perfect addition to the tour. Authentic, passionate, personable and talented!

Arrived around opening and got on first tour of the day. Lots of displays in the waiting area full of historical photos and descriptions. Hurley, our tour guide, gave excellent description of the historical displays upstairs. Could have had more time to circulate round upstairs to see all the displays. Nice music clips including Million Dollar Quartet. Informative talk about the recording studio and Elvis first recording session.

Lived in Memphis all my life but never been here until today with my daughter. It was an amazing experience to stand where the so many musical greats have performed. Our tour guide Hurley was fun and very knowledgeable, I highly recommend visiting this historic place.

If you are a music fan of any kind, this shouldn't be on your bucket list to visit. It should be on your "Visit ASAP" list. As a person who considers themselves a music history buff, t amazing how much one car learn and literally be in room(s) where so many ground-breaking recordings were performed. It is a shame that the walls can't talk, but our tour guide, Graham, was a fantastic 2nd option. Delved deep into the . history and mystic of the place while keeping everyone entertained and informed. Sun is for sure a to-do item anytime I am back in Memphis. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. 100 out of 10. No, that's not a typo.

Cool place to learn about Elvis Johnny and other great blues artist. The tour guide was good and showed us several rooms with lots of old records and paraphernalia.

For me this was a trip long awaiting.. well worth it! So much history and good vibes! Hurley or tour gide was Amazing! 5 Star guy! Definitely go again.

If you enjoy music this is the place for you. You feel the vibes as soon as you enter the studio. The tour with our guide Alexis was awesome. She got you in mood and took outback in time. So much history here. My wife is not that much into music but loved it

Such an interesting, historical piece of Memphis history. Our tour guide Lydia was extremely knowledgeable and so fun. Truly brought the history of Elvis first recording studio to life! I highly recommend this 50 minute tour.

If there is one thing I recommend you to do when in Memphis its visiting the Sun Studio! I don’t think there is any other place that brings you back to the golden days of Blues and Rock & Roll. The whole setup, the staff, the tour is awesome and properly genuine. Our tourguide Alexis was absolutely amazing, knowledgable, witty, a real local and even a great singer! Sun studio is an absolute must do!

The tour given by Alexis and was excellent! She is very knowledgeable, entertaining and has a fun sense of humor! She’s also a musician in the area and you can tell she has a real passion for Sun Studio and its rich history and for the music scene in Memphis itself!

Do yourself a favor and take this tour to see where American rock and country icons Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis got their start!

Make sure you give Alexis or whoever your tour guide might be a generous tip at the end as it really counts for them!

Our guide, Josh Hurley, really made the tour special with his upbeat personality, sense of humor, knowledge of the studio’s history, and his obvious passion and respect for the music and its creators. We really loved that snippets of music created in the studio were played throughout the tour - so much fun! We really can’t say enough about what a great experience this was. If you love music and you love history, this is one stop in Memphis that is NOT to be missed!!

Excellent tour. You have to get there at opening and get tickets. The tour size can be large which means lots of people in a small space. Ours was pretty crowded. It was very informative, and things are nicely displayed.

What a great museum! The tour was incredible! Love that they have kept this history alive and well in Memphis! From the building, to the orginal studio recording room, to the relics, etc, etc it's just a really neat place. Hurley was our tour guide ... he did an awesome job! He was great with our diverse group and kept us all engaged (and wanting more stories and more details!). Don't miss this gem in Memphis!

The Sun Studios Tour was the highlight of our visit to Memphis. Our tour guide Alexis Grace was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the studio’s history and the influence the many noted musicians had on the music industry, both former and current.

This was my 2nd visit to Sun studios. The tour has gotten so much better as the old diner is now where you purchase tickets and the tour starts. Our host Drew was amazing, told some great anecdotes and was in great spirits throughout the tour. We couldnt have asked for a better host.

This is a must see tour!!! It was amazing to get behind the scenes of the music i love from the legendary artists who recorded there. Our tour guide, Josh H., was energetic, fun, and passionate about the history and music. It was also reasonably priced. You don’t want to miss this!!
