My wife and I, immensely enjoyed our time at Taliiesin. The tour guide
Was very informative, and knowledgeable. We were able to tour every
Part of Mr Wright’s home and studio. We also purchased, very nice souvenirs
In the gift shop which beautifully decorated and moderately priced. The tour
Group was small and limited which allowed for comfortabilty and ease moving about thr
Mansion.

Four hour tour - quickest four hours ever. Andy was a Great guide - great story, amazing architecture, beautiful location, nice lunch at welcome center.

This is a great way to get a look at a very beautiful part of Wisconsin. The countryside is exquisite and you don’t have to be an architecture buff to enjoy it. We have visited a number of Frank Lloyd Wright sites and they are always enjoyable. He created wonderful art, and seeing these places is calming and uplifting.
We took the 2 hour Highlights tour. Our guide was excellent and he told the story of the master architect and the place he created in a memorable and very engaging way. Also picked up a couple of Christmas gifts in the shop. We loved it!

We did the self guided tour. They supplied each person with an iPad and headphones, which really made the tour great. We each listened and watched a short introduction in the visitor center which helped us learn how to navigate the app so we knew what to do when we got to the house. A shuttle bus took us to the house and off we went. There were guides stationed throughout the property to answer any questions, tell us where we could sit and help with the iPad when needed. The iPad itself was great! There was an audio/video for each room and you could click on certain features and get more in-depth information. With everyone wearing headphones, there was no distraction from others and those with impaired hearing could set the volume higher. You could go at your own pace and repeat any video at any time. Great way to do a tour!

Such a wonderful experience being able to step back in history and experience the creation of Frank Lloyd Wright here in the Midwest. Having already visited Taliesen West in AZ, this was a joy to be able to compare and contrast his stylings for the different locations and climate. The tour guide was knowledgeable and kept things moving along so that we got to enjoy the most out of the 2.5 hour tour. I suggest making your reservations well in advance as tours can book up quickly and you will want to consider lodging, as there are not many choices in Spring Green. It is a very small town with minimal offerings. We stayed in Sauk City, which is 25 minutes away and enjoyed that town very much.

What a special educational day for anyone with a love of Wisconsin. Tour and history presentations were excellent. A bucket list item for me as I grew up close to Spring Green.

What a great place to visit. It’s off the beaten path a bit but well worth it. We ate lunch in the Frank Lloyd Wright designed restaurant in the visitors center. Make sure you arrive before the restaurant closes at 3 PM. We took the self guided tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. The on sight staff answered all our questions. The audio information was interesting and worked great through my hearing aids. So glad this sight is being preserved.

Great tour of a fascinating place. Our tour guide, William, knew about this property and the man behind it inside and out. Going on this tour of Taliesin has ignited a desire to see the rest of the Wright properties. I received so much more education and enjoyment than I expected. Bravo!

Please use the bus shuttle for the “walking” to the outside buildings on the property whenever there is a heat advisory notification, especially for 70+ years of age!

Long on my bucket list, we finally made it to Taliesin on a Wisconsin car trip. It is a spectacularly impressive spread, and the Visitor Center restaurant was top notch. The house itself is sorely in need if TLC and I hope federal and state preservation groups can provide upkeep.

Reserved a one hour tour which includeds a short shuttle to and from the site. Met in the giftshop. Guide set an historical context with biography of FLW. House tour narrated in a such a way to highlight architectural style. One left with a sense of awe of FLW's design genious in his own home. Guide made a difference. Wishwe had time to explore Spring Green and would opt for the longer tour in another visit.

I love touring old houses and I especially love to hear about the history of the home and the people who lived there. Talieson has a lot of history and I was very excited to hear about it on my guided tour of the estate. When our tour guide William humiliated and berated guests for simply not paying attention to his every word, my experience was ruined. He scolded one old lady for not standing in the correct spot and another couple of ladies because they were talking softly with there backs turned away from him while he was talking to other guests.
William obviously idolizes FLW and the way he glorified everything FLW did was over the top and difficult to swallow.
The estate was grand in scale but not in flavor. It has fallen into disrepair and everything about the inside was cheap and old. Not the grandiose estate I was expecting.

Amazing visit of the personal residence, studios & hillside school. Our docent, Ayden, did a top notch job!

Our tour guide was excellent. He not only spoke clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear, he seemed to know everything about Frank Lloyd Wright and his days in Taliesen. We asked a lot of questions, and he engaged and answered them all. The tour took us to both buildings, the former school house that later became the apprentice studio and the personal home of Wright. The weather cooperated, which always helps in Wisconsin. Very informative! A delightful way to spend an afternoon.

The tour guide was amazing- very kind d and knowledgeable. The tour was full (24) on a Tuesday. This is the second FLW house tour I’ve done and I enjoyed it. My only concern is the price- even with a very gracious teacher discount- it’s $65 per person which seems much higher than his other house tours.

We had a great day- beautiful weather and very informative tour. We were impressed by Wright's incredible productivity and creativity. Thank you for allowing us to visit his amazing home.

We are lucky to have a knowledgeable guide and a small group (5 ). Stories well told and covered all the highlights. It helped as it was a warm & sunny day.

Very nice tour, nice kept grounds, liked the size of the group. Would have like more time at some of the stops. Wish the website would have said the cafe was closed.

If you've any interest in American architecture and the life/work of Wright, this is a must-see. The grounds and surrounding hills are breathtaking. The house is very interesting and the explanations for why it was built the way it was are enlightening. The tour (we took the 2-hour Highlights Tour) covers the house, studios, and grounds . Our guide (I wish I could remember the gentleman's name...it might have been Dewey) was exceptionally knowledgeable and discussed not only Wright's work, but his turbulent personal life. We came away with a deeper understanding of his genius as well as a puzzlement about his character. This spurred us to want to know more, and to me that's the sign of a good tour experience. Highly recommended.

This was an awesome tour of an iconic home! As a long time fan of FLW's architecture, Taliesin exemplifies the concept of bringing nature in! TAKE the estate tour but wear GOOD walking shoes.

Our tour guide gave us interesting information about Taliesin and FLW keeping things running well and the tour had a nice flow to it.

Good tour with Eric who shared his passion and knowledge of Frank Lloyd Wright's home and school. Tour was the full 2 hours.

Taliesin takes you to a different dimension. FLW creates spaces that will move you emotionally and Taliesin is one of the best examples of his work. This house is somewhere you want to spend time in, move slowly, take in every detail at your own pace. Sunlight dances on the polished, uneven rock floors, the low ceilings push you to the magnificent open living room with tall detailed ceilings and windows that create frames around the beautiful landscape. If you are a fan of his work, this home will not disappoint.
This was our second time visiting Taliesin. We took 4 kids with us this time - ages 14-20. We decided on the cost-effective Self-Guided Tour. This was only a tour of the house, not the barns or studio which I would highly recommend if you have the time. The tour guide was our ipad and headphones along with a smattering of paper signs sprinkled around. It was nice to be able to move through the home organically and we were able to spend way more time in the space then we would with a tour guide. There were several employees to help us along and answer questions. I'm torn on how to review the self guided tour - on one hand, it was nice to go about the tour ourselves, on the other hand, I don't think any of us really listened very intently to the guide on the screen.
In the end, please go visit no matter which tour you decide. It is an incredible piece of work and you'll become an instant admirer!

This was not our first visit to Taliesin and we've also visited Taliesin West in Scottsdale. There are a number of tour options depending on your interest and available time. We've always had great tour guides and this most recent trip was no exception. We took the 2 hour House Tour and not only learned a lot about the unique features of the house but also about Frank Lloyd Wright's life.

I enjoyed the tour very much. Great staff, attentive and very knowledgeable. Very conscientious to keep us on time.

We had one couple who got on the two hour tour and wanted to be accommodated to leave early! Why would you pay for a tour if you had to leave? The staff I am sure was frustrated, but handled it well. They ended up having to send a separate shuttle for them one hour into it. The male was on his phone the whole time not paying attention. Staff handled it better than me, I would have told him to book another time. I am pleased though that the staff didn't rush the tour to accommodate him. Just sad they had to send a shuttle especially for him and interrupt tour by telling him to go down to the shuttle

We waffled on whether to do one of the shorter tours or the longer more comprehensive Estate Tour. We decided to do the Estate tour and are so glad we did. Our guide was informative and knowledgeable. The property was amazing. It was a wonderful tour! Thank you!!!

My husband and I had a great time visiting Taliesin. The property is absolutely beautiful and thanks to our knowledgeable tour guide, we learned so much about FLW. I’m recommending this place to all my family and friends.

The beautiful drive to Spring Green was only surpassed by this amazing home and studio. Even as one with little knowledge of Frank Lloyd Wright or interest in architecture, this tour felt so significant. Highly recommend.

We both enjoyed this tour - We took the Highlight tour! I have to say though that my husband really enjoyed it! We have wanted to see the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and were close in the area! Glad we did!

This is an amazing group of buildings, and the tour guide seemed to be enjoying himself as much as those of us on the tour. A wealth of information about Frank Lloyd Wright and his life and family. Highly recommend.

As an admirer of frank Lloyd Wright, I as looking forward to visiting Taliesin. The tour itself was better than I expected! My guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining! I learned a great deal. The setting was beautiful and clearly cared for with respect. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area or anyone with an interest in architecture.

After visiting Falling Water and Kentuck Knob, this was another architectural work of art - though the presentation not quite as engaging as our tours in PA

Our tour guide, William, told us about the history and explained the concepts that make Taliesin East a remarkable experience. He pointed out details that we were seeing and showed us how these fit into Wright's idea of design. Things that make him a truly great architect so far ahead of his time.
Layered within Wright's philosophy were stories of his personal life with its theme of coming back from personal tragedy and professional setbacks. The four hour tour was perfect.

Awesome tour with lots of details. Tour guide was amazing, tons of knowledge with a genuine enjoyment of sharing as much information as possible. To see where Frank Lloyd Wright actually lived and worked was awe inspiring. To see the desk where Falling Water was designed and to hear the story behind it was something I will never forget.

Sadly, it was raining--not a sprinkle or light shower, but rain--when we visited Taliesin, so the tours, which normally revolve a bit more around one another and include outdoors, got a bit jammed up in the house. But that didn't stop it being an entertaining and informative tour through this gorgeous property: lots of incredible views; pieces of furniture and wonderful living spaces all woven around compelling, sometimes horrifying stories. Big props to our tour guide!
The Taliesin Preservation group has taken their stewardship seriously and made invisible improvements to stabilize the house and out buildings. Pony up some cash and support this endeavor! Side note-we were at The Rookery a week after and what a knockout; the FLW Foundation has an info center and shop there as well!

We took the in-depth house tour on Sunday October 6, 2024 and it was exceptional. Dewey was a terrific guide, sharing tremendous knowledge in a fun and captivating way. The home and grounds are magnificent. Such a testament to FLW's genius. Highly recommend this tour and will likely return for more.

The site & the buildings were beautiful. FLW was truly a gifted architect. The tour guide was very knowledgeable & engaging. We made the visit as part of our own modified FLW trail through Wisconsin and also added his home in Oak Park IL. Lodging options in Spring Green looked limited, so we spent the night in Madison.

My 3rd time there. First was in 1968 and the 2nd was 2018. Our guide. Renee, was excellent. Everyone could hear her, she gave excellent background stories to many of the spaces in the house, buildings and grounds. The grounds and stonework could use my touch as a landscape designer/professional for the last 44 years.

Well worth the trip! We had an excellent tour guide - Marlene! Learned a lot, interesting house, staff very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend

My friend and I visited Taliesen and took the Highlights tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and kind as he guided us through the house. He answered all our questions and provided great context for the construction and the events surrounding the house. I wish we had signed up for the 4 hour complete tour to get a better idea and to visit more locations.
This should be mandatory for an Frank Lloyd Wright fans in the area.

What a fantastic experience! My husband and I spent a week touring FLW attractions in/around Chicago and Wisconsin, and the 4-Hour Taliesin Estate Tour was one of our favorites. If you're going to make the effort to get there, you might as well see as much as you can see (as long as you can handle all the walking). It was a beautiful fall day and we had a lovely time! Our docent, Bill, was knowledgeable and fun. The break for refreshments was enjoyable (as well as much-needed), and I was thankful that there were gluten-free options for me.

We took the 4 hour tour, which provided interesting insights to the property and to FL Wright and family. Much of the tour is outside and all is walking.

Did the 2 hour home tour. Excellent tour guide. The homes were very interesting, a bit worn, but I believe true to the original which is most important.

I was so pleasantly surprised to find this museum. I am a fan of FLW and did not know the rich history of his life. It was great to see the studio and home of his genius and all the history really provide insight into his designs. There are several buildings each one unique and astonishing. I took the two hour tour. I felt this was sufficient.

What a fantastic tour and gateway into becoming a full on Frank Lloyd Wright fan. Our guide was superb. A fount of knowledge and charming to boot. Would highly recommend the 2 hour tour. We were to late in the season for the longer estate tour. Next time! Loved every minute.

We had booked tickets 2 weeks ahead of time for the 2 hour tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright home in Spring Green, WI, senior and veteran discounts of $5 per ticket. Dale did an excellent job of making the tour quite interesting with a great amount of knowledge of the man, his family & his house. We highly recommend booking a tour if you are visiting Wisconsin.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Gave us detailed background of Frank L Wright and the how and why of Taliesin.

My wife and I visited on a hot and sunny day and our tour guide, Matt, was very patient with us slow pokes. Matt was very informative in describing Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural vision. We also learned of Wright's ups and downs in his career and personal life.

Bill was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable about everything Frank Lloyd Wright. The grounds were beautiful and house and buildings well maintained.

My wife and I visited Taliesin as part of a trip to the Wisconsin Dells. It is located about an hour south of the Dells. The visitor center offers several tours. We chose the highlights tour, which was a 2 hour tour that visited 2 buildings. The first building we toured was a school that Wright designed, which later he converted to a training center and workshop for apprentice architects. The second was Taliesin, which was Wright's home for 50 years. The tour was very informative and interesting. There is a shuttle bus that takes you to the locations, so there isn't a lot of walking. At Taliesin, you visit most of the rooms and get a good overview of the philosophy behind Wright's designs. Reservations are recommended, and while we were there, people arrived without reservations, and most of the tours were sold out.

Taliesin is the heart of the Frank Lloyd Wright legacy, and the 2-hour house tour is a real opportunity to explore that legacy. The guide we had was outstanding -- knowledgeable, well-spoken, open to questions. My whole family really enjoyed the visit. Definitely recommend if you are visiting the Madison area -- it's well worth the drive. That said, eat before you go. Taliesin no longer has a restaurant, and finding decent food in Spring Green is not easy.

Great tour guide. Very good knowledge of the grounds, buildings and history with good humor added in. Loved the tour, tour guide and store afterword

Had a very good and interesting time. Our friends were not familiar with his work but came away with an appreciation for it.

Taliesin is a must see for FLW fans. Two hour tour was in-depth. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and the Visitors Center staff was extremely welcoming.

On my bucket list for years, but especially so after seeing Taliesin West in AZ, this visit to Taliesin was amazing—even with a billion mosquitoes! The vision and talent of FLW were highlighted by a terrific guide Eric Wallner (I’m sure all their guides are good, but recommend Eric if you can get him!)

My husband and I participated in the Estate Tour (a comprehensive, four-hour tour of many of the buildings on the Taliesin grounds). Our tour guide, William, is a true master. Not only did he have encyclopedic knowledge of the architectural and artistic features of Taliesin and the other buildings, but he also set the historical and biographical stage perfectly for each stage of the tour.
He had a warm, conversational style and drew tour participants into the conversation, with perfect pacing and the right amount of previewing what was next in the progression around the grounds. Yesterday morning was a mind-expanding experience, in no small part because of our tour guide.
The whole experience was very well orchestrated, with clear instructions about how to interact with the built environment and furnishings to appreciate them without damaging them, good pacing, and a couple of welcome water/sit-down breaks. I recommend this trip as being very good value for money, despite the apparently high price tag.

This is a must-see for all Frank Lloyd Wright fans and architecture admirers. We all know what a genius Mr. Wright was, but to see it in person is incredible.
We took the highlights tour which lasted about 2 1/2 hours. We toured the home, studio, and school, and were amazed at the beauty of every inch and corner of everything he touched. We toured as a family with our adult son (who was a bit skeptical about going), and I think he enjoyed the tour the most! It inspired both his thought process, and his admiration for someone else's vision and talent.
Our tour guide was incredible as well. He was educated, informed, enthusiastic, and made the entire tour even better. He inspired all of us to ask questions and share thoughts.

Very beautiful place. Staff were friendly and the tour guide very knowledgeable. But buyer beware. The cost for a 2+ hour highlights tour was $65 dollars per person for seniors. But I would not recommend it for seniors with a bum knee or other health issues. The tour is predominantly all standing or walking on uneven surfaces and hilly uneven terrain, with very little time for resting your feet, as seating is restricted to just a few areas. Also there are no bathrooms on the tour.
So if you decide to see this beautiful place and you’re a senior with health issues, take the 1 hour house tour. It’s awesome and worth the time to see the house.

Our tour guide was very informative, and being a former teacher she was excellent at presenting the information. It was a very enjoyable experience and can’t wait to take the longer tour!

Taliesin is a Must-See for any Wright fan. We took the 4-hour tour which offered a great in-depth look into Wright's life, including his home, studio, school and the estate. Staff members were great, and our docent was friendly and knowledgeable! Everyone went out of their way to make it a great experience for visitors. And the views of the surrounding countryside are stunning. Highly Recommended!

We really enjoyed our visit to Taliesin. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The properties are so beautiful and learning about FLW is inspiring.

My wife and I had always wanted to go here, and we were in the area and couldn't pass up the chance. We were part of the self-guided tour, and it was an incredible experience. We got to move at our own pace and soak in the genius he had designing this special place. Whatever questions we had they had knowledgeable staff there to answer them. I highly recommend the self-guided tour.

The weather was beautiful and our guide was great and knowledgeable. Due to a conference we weren’t able to see all of the school property but still saw a lot. We will definitely come back in the future.

This was truly an impressive tour. We learned so much from our guide Dewey and he was both knowledgeable and entertaining! Despite the rain and mosquitos, we truly enjoyed our time at Taliesin and have a better appreciate for FLW and his purpose, intentions, and work.

Estate 4 hour tour with Dale. A great experience, our docent told all the great stories about Mr. Wright, handled the tragedy with sensitive aplomb and answered all our questions for 4 hours, on a hot day. The properties are being well cared, are being conserved and restored as as testament to Mr. Wright's vision and talent. He truly wanted us to be happy and in harmony with family and nature. Worth seeing. Everyone who works there is so kind.

Booked the 4 hour tour of the entire home, buildings and grounds and it was amazing! Beautiful, eye-opening and the tour guide Andy was amazing!!! We learned so much and the tour itself was expertly planned.

This was a group with grandma, her son , daughter-in-law, and teen granddaughter, and all found it to be a good time as well as educational.

as a bucket list since childhood taliesen was great to see i took the 4 hour tour and was very happh to see everything i was shown the guide was so informed and so good to answer questions. ive been to falling water the pope leihey house gordon gugenheim ane taliesen west great fun thanks fot the great tour.

This is our second visit for my brother and myself. Enjoyed the architecture of the buildings and the surrounding landscape. It is a destination to relax and enjoy FLW’s unique design. The guide was very knowledgeable and she made the visit very worthwhile.

Once we stepped onto the property, we were led on journey through history and design by our docent Andy. His knowledge of the history and the architecture of Taliesin was vast and the stories he shared gave us a feeling of personal connection. Put this tour on your list of UNESCO sites to visit!

My wife & I pre-booked an In-Depth House Tour on a Friday afternoon, guided by a very knowledgeable & engaging staff member named Dale. It was more than just a bus ride from the Visitor Center to the nearby Taliesin property with a walk-through Frank Lloyd Wright's uniquely designed & constructed house and gardens; our tour guide also took us to see & explain the large Hillside Drafting Studio and adjacent Theater & Dining Room building, and pointed out many of the features around the rolling hills of the property while recounting the history of FLW's family. We are glad we chose the 2-hour tour, as it offered time for Q&A pauses as well as more in-depth exploration of the famous architect's storied life. Highly recommended, and greatly appreciated.
Footnote: The staff at the Taliesin Visitor Center gift shop & check-in desk were extremely welcoming & professional. First impressions established a very positive mood for everyone in our tour party to enjoy the afternoon of learning.

Not well suited for those with mobility issues, although staff was helpful. Will see how Taliesin West in Phoenix works out.

I visited Taliesin on Friday September 6 not knowing anything about Frank Lloyd Wright. I left the tour feeling I had just taken an architecture/family history class. Besides the beautiful surroundings, the guide pointed out the why's and what's of buildings, family, land, and left plenty of time for the group to ask questions. Thank you for a wonderful and thought-proving experience. And the treats at the main house were an unexpected surprise!

If you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, you won't want to miss Taliesin. It was wonderful! I took the highlights tour that toured the house itself, school, and a drive thru the property. My guide was very knowledgeable and you could tell a real fan of the architect. Was just beautiful. My late father-in-law was an architect heavily influenced by Wright and it was fun to see the actual work of the "master".

If you know nothing about Frank Lloyd Wright or are a well learned FLLW fan, Taliesin is a must visit.Great insight into the life and lifestyle of Wright with expert guides. Simply a beautiful experience!

Our tour guide was very thoughtful and a good story teller. He didn't make you feel rushed or that you didn't get any juicy details. We only had the house tour but it was very pretty and wonderful to be in the presence where the ideas were generated, practiced, and executed. It also gave us a ton of ideas for our remodel. The only thing I would say as a con would be to not visit the chapel afterwards. In our opinion was a waste of time. Other than that - if you love prairie style and Frank Lloyd Wright it's a must see.

The tour was very informative about Frank Lloyd Wright and how he created his homes and taught future architects, he was very creative and visionary for his time. The tour was very enjoyable.

We took the Highlights Tour and it was fantastic! It is worth the visit—so much detail and history to take in. The tour was very informative, and I really appreciated that we were given plenty of time to look around and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed. Our guide, CeCe, was amazing—knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history here. She really made the tour come alive. Highly recommend!

The Estate Tour is a detailed experience of masters work. Insightful but be sure wear comfortable shoes.

The Estate tour was really nice. Our tour guide Dan was great. Very knowledgeable about all things Frank Lloyd Wright. Kept the group engaged. It was a fun tour!

My daughter and I signed up for a most entertaining tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin and would encourage anyone in the area to check it out. There is so much to see on the property, and even though I had read biographies about Mr. Wright, I was amazed at what I saw and experienced.
To top it off, our guide, Dewey, was articulate, informative, and funny and a master storyteller. It was a great time!

Wonderful experience touring the home and studio of Frank Lloyd Wright just outside of Spring Green, WI. We went on the four-hour tour. Highly recommend this as you get plenty of time inside the main residence that sits on a lovely hill AND you are able to walk a bit around the grounds to other buildings designed by FLW. A must see for architecture enthusiasts. The guide was very knowledgeable and the group was a good size (16). You really get a feel for the place.

Taliesin is a must see for FLW fans. You get a glimpse into his personal life and see the imperfections of it- both personally and professionally. Totally opposite from the visual perfections of his later work. Our tour guide was amazing!!

Well worth the cost of the tickets! Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining
as well. Beautiful home, school and additional buildings included in the complex. A perfect autumn day
to enjoy some spectacular scenery. The refreshments served on the terrace was an unexpected and
much appreciated touch.

William ,our tour guide ,was throughly knowledgeable about FLW,fascinating insights into his design theory and professional development. We received a chronological history of the Family and the Estate. All of the information was delivered as great entertainment, without any notes! Best of the Best is well deserved for this experience.

Well organized with friendly staff in an idyllic location. What's not to love? A great place to visit whether you're into architecture or not.

Took my adult daughters on the 2.5 hour Taliesin tour this week and it was fantastic. Passionate, knowledgeable tour guide. Well designed to see and learn about the extraordinary life, loves and lifestyle of this iconic eccentric and genius.

The house is incredible, so are all the out-buildings and gardens but all are nearly overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the landscape. The tour was wonderful, our docent was extremely knowledgeable and overall it was one of our favorite Frank Lloyd Wright experiences.

Growing up in the area and driving past hundreds of times we finally made time to take the tour and so glad we did. The tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He was also very passionate both about Frank Lloyd Wright but also about the preservation efforts they are doing to preserve this for future generations. We were only able to do the 2 hour house tour but hope to return and do the full Estate Tour next summer.

We took the 4-hour estate tour, and our guide was Matt. He did an excellent job of explaining everything that we visited, answering our questions and leading us without ever making us feel rushed. We thoroughly recommend this tour even if you aren't particular fans of Frank Lloyd Wright. The refreshments provided on this longer tour were tasty and very welcome.

Enjoyed the Estate Tour very much. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions. The estate is beautiful. Worth the visit.

This was a bucket list visit and it did not disappoint! I think I was there on the most beautiful day of the summer, but regardless of weather it was worth my 12 hour drive to get there! And I'll be back!

My husband and I took the in-depth house tour with Dale as our tour guide last Friday. Dale did a great job and the tour was wonderful. Highly recommend if you enjoy Frank Lloyd Wright. The views from the house are beautiful!

Every detail of this tour was well thought out and perfectly executed. Our tour guide Dale was extremely knowledgeable and very personable.

Our family toured Taliesen on the Highlights Tour on August 31, 2024 and had a fabulous guide, Eric. The check-in was prompt and the visitor center has a beautiful view of the Wisconsin River and a lovely dining room.

The house was well maintained. I think my tour guide was new because he wasn't very articulate and couldn't remember what he was supposed to be saying. If you come you should buy your tickets beforehand apparently they sell out of the self guided tours $35 per person.....but not the other ones which are $72 per person for 2 1/2 hours. I felt it was overpriced and the tour guide was bad. I would have liked it if there were signs in the rooms with dates and highlights of the rooms. I think an audio guide would be better.

Beautiful thoughts were put into this house! Furniture, lines of walls, windows in just the right place to see the view, etc. Amazing!

Taliesin is a beautiful destination. Must be visited when in Arizona. Parking on site. Beautiful gift shop on premesis. We used the self guided tour which was wonderful and informative it takes one hour wear comfortable shoes. Bring your sunglasses and enjoy every moment of frank Loyd wrights winter camp

I really enjoyed seeing the buildings this master architect built and walking on the land that inspired him. The tour was well done, and our guide was very knowledgable.

Bob was a great guide full of information and stories. It was rainy and tour had a bus to take us on longer treks from site to site. Had a nice break with snacks and drinks half way through the 4 hour tour

It was a dream to visit Frank Lloyd WRIGHT's House in TALIESIN
His research laboratory, his school, his dream
To be repeated if possible

This was on my bucket list for my husband and I, plus our 25-year-old daughter tagged along.
Very informational and wonderful walk through the estate, light luncheon excellent, even the daughter loved the designs. Now we want to check out the Frank Lloyd Wright gas station by us.

Absolutely fabulous. Spenser our tour guide was spectacular. Thank you so much for making our Wisconsin trip one to remember.

Visiting Taliesin is so interesting. I took the 1 and 2 hour tours this summer and learned so much each time. I would recommend taking either tour and if you are looking for a nice, comfortable place to stay just a few miles away, check out the Spring Valley Inn in the town of Spring Green WI I would also recommend a show at the American Players Theatre also in Spring Green.

It's definitely a must for Frank Lloyd Wright fans but I found it a bit underwhelming. Maybe because of my high expectations. Bear in mind that during the fall-winter months they are open only 3 times a week (Fri, Sat, Sun) and no full 4-hour tour of the estate is available.

Interesting in that I have seen many of his homes and this was in keeping with the style and function of others he has designed. The location is lovely, peaceful and so quiet… I suppose since I had read the book “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horgan, I felt the need to see this home in person.
Our guide was knowledgeable and informative, a good tour…

The highlights tour was thorough and interesting. They covered a lot of details about FLW life and work. The tour was fast paced, but the guide took time for all questions and had very thorough answers to anyone's query. After the tour we felt we might want more time there, since it was so interesting, We are planning to go back for the longer tour.

Our 2 hour house tour with Dan was great. The grounds were so beautiful and thee house so interesting wasting.
Dan knew so much about Frank Lloyd Wright’s life and about the home. He was able to answer everyone’s questions.

This tour was AMAZING. Deb was our guide and did such a fantastic job on the tour. So informative and the stories and history were mesmerizing. Highly recommend this tour. This home is stunning and we loved the history.

With the exception of another person in the group who was rude and wanted to be accommodated, the tour was great. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and tried to handle the rude customer with finesse as best they could. While this is one of many FLW properties we've been to I will say it is probably in the most need of repair. That said, they are working on its preservation and one room was going to be shut down soon for repair so they are cognizant and willing to help.

Practical location. Excellently preserved. Our tour guide Bill was so knowledgeable and charming. We does the two hour tour and wills have done them for if it had been available when we went.

An amazing tour filled with an impressive amount of information. As lovers of history, architecture, old houses and nerdiness we chose to take the four-hour estate tour and were not disappointed. Our tour guide- William- was very knowledgable and understood how to facilitate an interested tour group. The tour included a snack break in the middle, a tour of the house, school, grounds and more.

I had a great time taking this inspiring tour, despite having visited other FLW sites in other states, I had never heard of Tailesin. It felt like an intimate insight tour into Frank Lloyd Wright’s life and work. You can tell that people working here have a deep connection to the property and respect for it, they want to help in its preservation and share it with others. Definitely worth the visit to Wisconsin.

excellent 2 hour tour. The docent was knowledgeable and answered all questions. Tour bus was comfortable. The only drawback is the cafe' at tour center hasn't reopened since pandemic.

We went as a group of friends and mothers. Enjoyed every minute of this peaceful well designed marvel. My friend was sceptical at first if she would like it, as she comes from a different field entirely, but she was so pleasantly suprised and found the many intellectual aspects of FLW design fascinating. Tour guide was great (and it helped that we were lucky with the weather, even though it was cold, the sunshine rendered it all perfect).

The guide was highly informed and kept us engaged throughout. Extremely worthwhile for FLW and architecture buffs. The way the structures work with the landscape is essential Frank Lloyd Wright.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Taliesin! Dan was our guide, and he did an exceptional job of presenting the property and its history including Frank Lloyd Wright.

We took the two hour tour of Talliesin and were not disappointed. The guide was very knowledgeable answering all of our questions. The construction, details, and layout are ingenious, as one would expect.

Great guide, super interesting and well-run Highlights Tour of studio and home. Definitely worth the stop and price.

We had a great tour of Taliesin. Everything from the check-in process, info and timing of the tour, and even the restaurant food was excellent. We want especially to mention our guide, Ellie, who was so enthusiastic, she inspired an even greater appreciation for the site.

We visited and toured the Frank Lloyd Property on 9/12/2024. Was a great visit & tour! The tour guide gave us great information about the property and about frank Lloyd Wright. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend! :)

Always need a fan but Taliesin provided history and insight to his life (the good and the bad)
Great experience

We took the 4 hour Estate Tour. It was in this case a small group tour of 8 people. Our guide Craig was knowledgable, engaging, approachable and genuine: a fine guide. However, in my opinion, the 2 hour House Tour is all you really need to obtain an excellent summary history of FLW and his beautiful work. The farm, the school, the theater and the rest of the estate added little value to Wright's tour of his personal residence. If you are in the area, this is a must see if you are intrested in architecture or even want to know more about american history. They have a comprehensive gift shop and very nice albiet expensive resturant serving primarliy sandwiches and wraps.

We have a strong appreciation for architecture, although are not in the architecture or construction business. This was wonderful! Would highly recommend the estate tour!

This was a great place to tour. Fantastic history about Frank Lloyd Wright, in addition to having an up close look at his Taliesin home.

We took the 2.5 hour Highlights Tour. Parts of it seemed a bit long for me but overall it's a great place to visit if you are a Frank Lloyd Wright or modern archicture fan. The price is bit steep if you're not a fan.

We had an outstanding, knowledgeable tour guide who brought us by bus from the Visitor Center to the property. It was a beautiful fall day to enjoy learning the history of Taliesin as we walked the grounds and later inside on the In Depth House Tour. What an interesting man and house!

For lovers of FLW, or those who don't know him at all, this place is magical.
The surrounding area is some of the best to be found anywhere, the natural beauty that is WI. Excellent tours, guest center & shop; spectacular views from the very good restaurant.
We will do this again!

I thought we were going to start at the school and make our way down to the house. I liked that version of the tour better because you could see roughly oldest to newest works with the home and studio as the crown jewel. Still very good, but I'd recommend taking the estate tour back to what it was if possible. Thank you!

The house tour was everything I hoped it would be plus way more! Everyone was so welcoming & courteous. The guide was so well informed & answered all questions so graciously. Loved the gift shop & lunch at the Riverview Terrace was delicious & fresh.

This was our last stop on a x-country trip to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Huge fans of FLW, we tried to see as many of his buildings as possible. Taliesin did not disappoint. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, pointing out interesting aspects of the designs. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn more about FLW and experience his work in person. We stood where Wright stood! Great experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and tour of the house. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. Highly recommend visiting.

It may seem pricey but it was worth every dollar! We had lunch before the tour in the visitor center restaurant. Nice lunch menu and great service! The two hour tour was perfect. Eric, our docent, was amazing! Definitely would recommend this tour.

Our guide was extremely bright and committed to educating and entertaining us throughout the entire tour. He answered all questions and was very knowledgeable about Taliesin and the history of when FLW built the house.

Excellent tour even when dealing with a tornado warning. Took the 2.5 hour guided tour. So much to see in the house and other buildings. Not very much walking outside, but not recommended if you have trouble standing for a while. Help support Taliesin!

Touring flw home and hearng all the tragic stories really brought the genius to life. A terrific tour (shout out to Dan) better than expected

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing one of Wright's masterpieces during a tour led by an outstanding guide. It was an unforgettable experience.

We loved our highlights tour & wished we had done the full tour. Our guide was amazing. He shared so much information while keeping us on what appeared to be a strict schedule with overlapping tours. So much to see snd learn about ( but not touch). Glad there is preservation being done. Just wish there was more.

With an inspired guide, Dan, we had a great 2,5 hours tour of Frank Lloyd Wrights estates and school. Very informative!

I think our Guides name was Katlain with a "k" as she said. I've been too a lot of FLW properties, but this one was really special for the factoids that she shared. She knew her material and I actually learned a few things, which is rare as I'm a know-it-all Architect, trained as I was to believe in Mr. Wright

Sad to see such a remarkable place in this state of neglect. If we applaud his work, should not the beginnings of greatness also be maintained?

Great tour with a wealth of information about not only the structure and architecture but also the man himself. They have done a nice job of preserving Frank Lloyd Wright's legacy.

My daughter and I enjoyed the two-hour guided tour of the property. Our guide, William, was extremely knowledgeable and we both learned a great deal about Frank Lloyd Wright - his inspirations, personality and interests. The property is an easy one-hour drive from Madison and so worth the time.

We had 9 people plus our guide, Spencer on the 4-hour tour. I had some familiarity with Wright's architectural style previously but knew almost nothing about his life and Wisconsin home. Thanks to our energetic and knowledgeable guide many questions were answered. The tour requires a decent amount of walking, some uphill, but the views, the buildings, and the stories make it completely worthwhile. We had a nice day weather wise, so the walk was enjoyable.

The In Depth house tour was both interesting and educational. We enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide, Dan was well versed in the history of Taliesin and gave insight into the physical structure as well as the man.

From the moment you enter the Visitor Center you are surrounded by the genius of FLW. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The tour was engaging and would be interesting to anyone regardless of your level of interest in FLW.

Our tour guide was excellent and the tour was very interesting. I was sad to see Taliesin in such need
of repair. I had been there many years ago, but my tour at the time did not include the school. This time it was the high light of the tour.

The scale of Taliesin, and the arcs of history that intertwine there, are both fascinating and intimidating. However, the tour - with an incredible guide! - explains the complex and demystifies the esoteric, leaving both the random touron and the seasoned expert as passionate devotees. I have visited several times, and it keeps getting better and better.

We had a wonderful time on the the Highlights tour - very informative, good pace, and you get to see everything. It was gorgeous spring day which made it very picturesque. I highly recommend this tour.

We were fortunate to have a local high school history teacher as our guide and she was very thorough and knowledgeable.

Our tour guide was excellent, not only giving a complete overview of Wright’s work not also of his life— his relationships with students & family. We enjoyed spectacular views inside & outside!

It would be helpful if the visitors had headsets and the tour guide a microphone. Many of the couples had hearing aids which made understanding the fast talking guide difficult to understand

In a beautiful valley in small town WI sits such a treasure of stories surrounding the life of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Stories and sights rich with history, architecture and even scandal. Just experienceing the style, exterior, and interior design of Taliesman and the Hillside studio were a thrill. We did the Highlight Tour and the 2 hours just flew by. Definitely going back for the 4 hour Estate tour. Such a gem in WI and a beautiful drive from.... well anywhere. Go, you will be glad you did!

Dan was our tour guide. Very informative, excellent speaking voice and a real passion for what he does.we all loved the tour,

Walking through Taliesin gives you an amazing feel for Frank Lloyd Wright's design style and principles.

The Highlights tour of the theatre, the school, the Fellowship workroom and the house was excellent. The guide was knowledgable, patient, answered questions, and had a sense of humor. There was enough time at each site so one could get a sense of the era, the aims, the life of FLW and his community. Highly recommend this tour.

A worthwhile excursion for any fan of Wright's design, Taliesin North embodies his landscape-anchored design and chronicles his evolving sensibilities about residential architecture. It bridges the early Oak Park years with his pre-war middle decades, and fleshes out the person- brilliant-didactic-opportunistic- that is Frank Lloyd Wright.

A visit to a Frank Lloyd Wright creation is always a pleasure. This was no different. FLW was a genius. Quirky. Ill-tempered. Massively egotistical, but still a genius who did things his way, disdaining what others were doing. His works at his Taliesin home are no different. The tour, while a bit pricey, is worth every penny. Our guide was Ayden. You’ll do well if you get him. He does a great job. Also, if he doesn’t know, he tells you, which I appreciate. This was doubly interesting for us as we had previously visited Taliesin West in Scottsdale, AZ. It’s not a “If you’ve seen one you’ve seen em all” proposition. There are similarities, but Taliesin in Wisconsin is a much larger property with many more intricacies. If you’re into FLW or architecture or creative processes, Taliesin is a must!
One word of advice. If you’re going and using Waze or some other nav app, do the search for Frank Lloyd Wright Visitors Center. Don’t search for Taliesin. You’ll be directed to the wrong place to pick up your tour.

This was my first Wright building tour anywhere & I was very excited. It did not disappoint! Jonathon was our knowledgeable, humorous & personable tour guide. We first toured the school complex and then Taliesen, his home. We learned about him, his family, his architecture, his guiding beliefs and his enjoyments. It was A-1 all the way.
A couple of suggestions:
1: signage can be clearer at the reception center. A sign right next to the correct door would be excellent.
1: printed floorplans of the building to be toured, as they currently are, would have helped me tremendously in visually understanding the buildings and rooms I was seeing. Whether the floorplans are posted in various rooms or, better, included in with the ticket brochure, the ability to see the plan of each entire building would be so helpful.

I did the morning 2 hour tour and it was only me so I got alot of interaction time with the guide. He was incredibly informed about the FLW property, his history that extended to the architecture school and the family members. I learned more on this tour than any of the other FLW tours I have taken.

The setting of the property itself is remarkable, the building complex is a wonder, and there are endless Frank Lloyd Wright stories. Our guide was excellent!

Spencer, our tour guide was so full of interesting information and he shared it with such exuberance and passion; it really seemed like he and everyone that worked there loved their jobs because they all were so positive, courteous, helpful and cheerful every step along the way.
I will highly recommend to all my friends and family that they come for a visit and take the four hour tour of the entire estate; it was worth every penny!
The expansive views of the hillside in the fall were spectacular and I imagine would be beautiful at any time of the year in all weather.

The tour and guide were excellent and well worth the price. This is a unique property with a rich history. The architecture and setting were amazing. We toured the house only and would like to return and visit other parts of the estate.

The 2 hour house tour also included some walking outside. But it gave us an overall scope of the place

Really enjoyable and memorable visit to Taliesin - beautiful surroundings, friendly staff and lively knowledgeable tour of the school and house.

Did the Highlights tour with 4 adults and 2 young boys. Tour was a little long for one of the boys, but oh well! The rest of us loved it. It shows a lot of the estate, guide, Bill, was knowledgeable and provided consistently for questions and comments. He gave us time to explore the spaces and everything flowed very smoothly.
The house and grounds, like a lot of Wright properties (Fallingwater, Taliesin West) continue to be challenged by the elements-meaning-the property is not in perfect condition-be prepared for varying temperatures, uneven floors, and trademark low ceilings (compression!).
This is an absolute must-do for Wright fans as there’s so much history here. And some of it is living history, as of this writing-one of Wright’s apprentices still lives on property (she’s not part of the tour, unfortunately, but I bet she has stories!)
Lots of other stuff to do in the area as well. Super quirky House on the Rock is just up the road. Cave of the Mounds about 20mins away. A couple great state parks in the area, and of course some other Wright designed structures right in the vicinity worth a stop as well.

I took the four-hour Estate tour with Dale who is filled with knowledge and trivia. It was fascinating to see all the buildings on the Preservation from where Frank Lloyd Wright worked and slept along with his students. From houses to a barn to a school and a theater he did it all. I also enjoyed all of the artwork. He has an outdoor sculpture garden. The pace was just right with a break halfway through for lemonade, brownies, and carrot cake. The scenery along the way is also beautiful.

As fans of Frank Lloyd Wright we were delighted to finally visit his beloved Taliesin. And we were especially lucky to have Dale as our Tour Guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and encouraged questions.

Frank Lloyd Wright was an extraordinary fellow. He world recognition is based on his unique and exquisite architecture. The venue of this creation was Spring Green, Wisconsin - rolling hills, farm land, exquisite views from both the outside of the structures and the inside. Wright had a very unique way of blending the inside to the outside. A must see attraction for anyone who enjoys architecture.

What a great day! Some friends of mine that were new to the area and myself took a Highlights Tour with the tour guide Dewey. It was fabulous! He has so knowledge to share about Taliesin and the history of the house, plus Frank Lloyd Wright and his family. The information was shared in a concise, clear, and amusing way. Highly recommend the Highlights Tour and even more highly recommend Dewey as a tour guide.

We really enjoyed our Highlights tour and were very impressed by how much we got to see even for a shorter tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered many off-the-cuff questions. The information was well presented and fascinating. This was definitely one of the best put together tours I've been on and I highly recommend Taliesin to those visiting the area! (Pick this over House on the Rock x1000)!!

I took a client on the tour. We both enjoyed it immensely. The amount of information packed into a two hour tour was incredible. Our tour guide was personable, knowledgeable, fun and quite patient. My client is planning to build a home next year and took away several ideas of things to do—and not to do—in the build process. It was also fascinating to learn more about Frank Lloyd Wright, the architect and the man and his impact on the local and national history and landscape.

As a long time fan of FLW, visiting Taliesin has been on my agenda for decades. Our guide, Spencer, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in conducting the "Highlights" tour. While it is quite evident a lot of work is needed to bring the structures around to meet preservation goals, the "design laboratory" nature of the Taliesin is still most fascinating. There are numerous elements that resonate in the design of Fallingwater, for example. The location is out of the way but well worth the trek for anyone interested in architecture and especially FLW.

Our small group did the 2-hour highlights tour which was absolutely perfect for the interests of the group. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. The tour encompassed many buildings including the main house, the drawing room, school, and many more. Shuttle takes you from place to place. Extremely interesting and literally nothing to compare it to. Read up on your history and enjoy the tour!

We had a wonderful time at the In Depth House tour. Our guide Spencer was extremely passionate about FLW and a gifted story teller. He kept the tour moving along but we never felt rushed. I will return take different tour. Highly Recommend!

Its more than just a house, its history. I did not know about the hisory of this house and the sad ending. I will not spoil it, I will let you find out on your own. The house need a lot of work and I hope they are able to get to it soon. The tour was very good and very informative, and they drive you from the visitor centor to the house. The visitor centor was also built by FLW and was a restaurant. It is a gift store and small rstaurant now, and if you need the restroom you have to go there because there are no restrooms at the house.

This is not a tour of murder and mayhem, but one of the history of the architecture and land. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. She did an excellent job of sharing history and pointing out interesting features as well as facts about FLW and Wisconsin. We never felt rushed and enjoyed the opportunity to examine and learn about the architecture and areas of the property. We were lucky with a beautiful, sunny, fall day which made the scenery all the more gorgeous. I am very glad to have had the opportunity to take this tour and I highly recommend it!

We took the 4 hour Estate Tour and loved it, but we all have a background in design. If you do not, it may be a bit much for you and you may want to consider a shorter tour. We went in October in the cooler weather. There is a lot of walking and a few of the 60+ visitors appeared to be struggling. Know your limitations. Dale our docent was fabulous. The time passed quickly. Be sure to stop at Unity Chapel and the graveyard on your way out.

I had a nice time entertaining visiting guests visiting on two recent trips to Taliesin. Our guides Craig and Dewey were great.

Dan did a great job leading us through the entire property. Really good informational and presented well.

We took the 4 hour estate tour. Tour guide was excellent. Time flew by very fast. Our tour guide’s presentation and anecdote stories about Frank Lloyd Wright were very interesting and kept all of us engaged. Really enjoyed it!!

What was the vision of the man who designed buildings and furniture for those buildings? A man whose signature design features that are so distinctive that his name is world renowned. Decades after his death, people work to preserve his buildings, his legacy. Spend a few hours walking where he walked, where he worked, where he taught, where he planned. Enjoy the landscapes he enjoyed. Feel the compression of narrow stone passages opening up to stunning vistas. Imagine how he lived, with whom he lived, in the buildings he designed for himself. The life he designed for himself.

Visited many Frank Lloyd Wright sites before including Taliesin West, so was really looking forward to seeing the original Taliesin. Signed up for the 4 hour Estate tour.
Not only was I “not disappointed,” the tour exceeded my high expectations. I’d read books in preparation but was still enthralled by our spectacular guide, William, who conveyed the stories in a compelling manner that honored the spirit and passion of the master.
The organization of the tour was also well orchestrated with a nice introduction in the visitor center where we all parked and then shuttled up to Taliesin so we could experience the views and get more history as we approached. The walk through the grounds really gave us a connection to the nature FLW so loved.
At the end of the tour we enjoyed a delicious lunch in the lovely cafe overlooking the Wisconsin river.

Our group had 3 seniors and we did the house tour. It was very organized, informative and as advertised. Our tour guide was an 11/10 and did an amazing job with telling us back stories(there were plenty). When back in Wisconsin next summer, the plan is to do another tour. And do yourself a favor, have lunch in Spring Green after the tour.

I have long wanted to visit Taliesin and given I was in the area for a retreat, was glad we could obtain tickets. The house is as I expected, the tour guide was well informed and shared much history and anecdotes. Our group was 23, groups before and after us were also large. We needed to wait for the goup ahead of us. NOTE for those who might struggle walking Even on the shorter tour there was much walking - some on uneven surfaces. I strongly encourage those interested in Wright to make this pilgrimage.

Our guide Dale was great. Very informative. Our entire tour was so beautiful and impressive and we learned a lot.

We had a wonderful 4-hour Estate Tour - included detailed tour of the main house along with tour of the studio grounds followed by a walk across the valley to other sites on the property and tours of those. All in all a beautiful area and wonderful day.

We did the four hour tour, Estate Tour I believe. Very interesting to see inside many of the buildings and walk the grounds just like they did back in the day. Not a small amount of time or money, but we felt is was well worth it, definitely recommend!

Excellent guide and very informative. We did the highlights tour. He had a fascinating life. Must see.

Bill was a wonderful, extremely knowledgeable guide! Thoroughly enjoyed his ability to answer questions that were off-script.

My visit came after driving to and from Madison over the past several years and never taking the time to stop. This was the year I decided to make the tour a priority for my weekend trips. Our guide, Craig, was outstanding and the 4 hour visit didn't disappoint.

We took the riding tour which covers several of the sites on the grounds. The tour guides gave excellent presentations and readily answered questions. Also, the visitor center with restaurant has a nice gift shop.

We loved the tour! Very informative and our guide Dale was exceptional! I highly recommend the tour, especially for homeschooling and young people who are interested in architecture and/or going into architecture.

Taliesin is a treasure trove of architectural experiments and original details. The guides are charismatic, and the experience is worthwhile for anyone interested in stories of Frank Lloyd Wright, regional Midwestern architecture, and American culture more broadly.

Knowledgeable guide. We took the 2 1/2 hr tour that allowed us to see the home and school. We learned more about Wright and his work. Had a sandwich at the cafe with a nice view of the Wisconsin River.

It was everything we could have asked, with a great and knowledgeable guide. It was very important to hear about the great personal impact on Lloyd Wright of the attack on his family and the tragic fire at Talieisin I. We have already recommended a visit to our friends.

We took the 2.5 hour Highlights tour. That was plenty for us because as the day got hotter, some of the rooms were very hot with only fans for cooling. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and could answer almost every question asked. You will take a shuttle from the visitor's center to his house and to Hillside. There is lots of walking in doors and out with only three chances to sit for a couple of minutes. Our tour had the maximum number of people, so in some rooms, there was not enough time to walk around and see everything. I loved looking through the windows and doorways seeing how nature played a part in the architecture of the site. We ate at the restaurant next to the visitor center which had a lovely view of the Wisconsin River. This was a real highlight of our trip to Wisconsin, and I recommend it if you are at all interested in Wright's work.

Very informative and interesting. Knowledgable guide. Fun gift shop. All associates polite and helpful

We took the 4 hour estate tour, which was fascinating! Our guide was excellent, and with 19 people on the tour we never had any issues hearing his explanations, as he was a professional in his presentation.
The 4 hour tour covers the whole estate and does involve quite a bit of walking. They have other options that are shorter, but this one is highly recommended. Toured Taliesin West several times while living in AZ, and it was great to learn more about FLW and see his Wisconsin home.

As a fan of great and inspiring architecture, the Estate Tour was amazing. William was an excellent guide, providing interesting information about Wright and the evolution of the home, whether you are a fan or not. The mid-tour snack break gave us a moment to enjoy the lush surroundings and pause at the beauty of the place. Though it was 4 hours long, it was so entertaining and there was so much to see that it never felt long. I recommend it highly. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Our guide Dewey was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the life and times of FLW. House is astonishing. Filled with paintings, sculptures, knicknack heavy with Japanese influence. If you are tall the passageways between the open areas will make you crouch down.
Definitely worth doing.

Wonderful opportunity to learn about Frank Lloyd Wright, see his work, and explore the land and area where he grew up. The Taliesin non-profit does a great job of taking care of the buildings and landscape, sharing this important site with the public, and preserving Wright's legacy. As an architect, the house and school tour (2-hour Highlights Tour) gave me a deeper understanding of Wright's professional development (from a young boy to a seasoned elder). And for everyone on the tour, being in and walking through Wright-designed spaces (interior and exterior) allowed us to experience Wright's spatial designs and discover his unique detailing and craftsmanship.

My husband and I visited Taliesin as an anniversary present to ourselves and the visit did not disappoint. We attended the Highlights Tour and had Craig, who was such a phenomenal tour guide. We loved learning more about Frank Lloyd Wright, his impressive architecture, vision and the legacy that he leaves in Spring Green (and beyond!)

On Monday, September 9th I stopped at your visitor center. There I talked to Amanda and she graciously and knowledgeably answered my multitude of questions. All of the tours for that day were fully booked, so I reserved a 9:30 tour for Thursday, September 12th.
Dan, the tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. I, at first was wondering if the $57 dollar fee was worth it, but at the conclusion of the tour I believed that the cost was worth every penny!
On returning to the visitor center after the tour, I was greeted by Amanda and I was impressed that she would remember me.
My overall experience was of the highest quality and your staff is of the upmost of hospitality.
I will return again soon!
Thank you all very much,
Respectfully,
Lyle Wagar

My husband and I very much enjoyed our visit to Taliesin - a place we had long wished to see. As the daughter and grandaughter of architects and living in the world's first Garden City - Letchworth - in the UK, Frank Lloyd Wright's work is something I have known of for most of my life. It was an enormous pleasure to be able to visit both Oak Park and Taliesin on our trip to Chicago to see our daughter. We shall certainly recommmend them both to oher friends and family.

My husband and I enjoyed visit the home & architectural school of FLW in Wisconsin! It is a gem & I am so glad that it is being preserved and shared appropriately!

We took the 2.5-hour Highlights Tour which included going inside the main house and the Hillside drafting studio and theater. From the main house we could see Tan-y-Deri and the Unity Chapel in the distance. From the shuttle bus we could see the Midway Barn and some dormitory buildings, and we could see the Romeo & Juliet Windmill from the back of the Hillside building (which had restrooms downstairs). Both the house and the Hillside studio were stunningly beautiful to this Frank Lloyd Wright fan. It is allowed to take non-flash photos throughout the properties.
Our docent Dan was extremely knowledgeable and was willing to answer any question. He kept the tour moving at a pleasant pace with plenty of time to study each room as he talked about them. For example, as we sat in the theater Dan explained that the stage curtain, made for Frank Lloyd Wright by his students, has been restored and Taliesin is using National Park Service grant money to add protectors to keep the curtain in good shape. The black horizontal block of the curtain design represents the Wisconsin River, the red horizontal line represents the bridge over the river, and the green represents Taliesin itself.
As an added bonus, as the shuttle bus was heading back to the visitor center along WI-23 we happened to spot some sandhill cranes on the field in front of the Midway Barn.

I visited Taliesin last month with a group of architects including myself and really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide, Spencer, had so much knowledge about Frank Lloyd Wright and all the buildings on the site which was impressive, not to mention how theatrical he was while telling stories-- I feel like I could listen to him tell a story about anything! I was locked in with the story about the fire that happened at the site. I also appreciated that our tour guide wasn't afraid to examine FLW and his life with a critical lens-- that's something that absolutely made this visit worthwhile and made me feel like I was getting a quality experience. It was also a beautiful day and I wouldn't have changed a thing!

This was a very enjoyable tour and quite extensive of the property. Deb, our guide, was very knowledgeable and informative regarding the history and background of the Wright property.

This interesting place is a reasonable drive outside of Scottsdale. $44 entrance fee per person. We got there early and were very glad as it was very hot to walk around so bring protection. There is not a cafe. You need your tickets on a smartphone and then download the app to listen to the recordings. Interesting to visit and learn more about the architecture.

Our visit was very enjoyable. The estate is full of people who really enjoy working there and sharing their knowledge about Frank Lloyd Wright and the many facets of his life.

My elderly father and I spent a few hours here n our US road trip. He had a coffee in the cafe while I took the 2.5 hr highlights tour. It was a little expensive compared to similar tours in the UK but the tour guide was very knowledgeable and had the patience to answer my many questions considering that as a Brit I had very little knowledge of FLW. The visitor centre also had clean bathrooms and a great shop. A pleasant introduction to Wisconsin

We did the 4 hour estate tour and after finishing, I can't imagine seeing Taliesin any other way. Our guide, Bill, was extraordinary. We even told him afterwards, best tour guide we've ever had! He was incredibly knowledgeable, and did a fantastic job at crafting the story of Taliesin throughout the tour.
Highly recommend this to all, and would absolutely come back and do the full estate tour again!

Our guide provided an interesting and educational experience while touring one of Frank Lloyd Wrights must see projects.

My wife and I always wanted to visit Taliesin to admire Wrights work. The tour guide Dan, was excellent, very knowledgeable and answered any and all questions everyone had.

I am all about the guide and their knowledge (those folks make the tour in my book). Dale was amazing. The two hours went rather quickly, but more than enough for us. Dale was able to answer all our questions. The folks that assisted along the way, were very timely as well. Thank you Dale

We took the amazing 4-hour Tour of Estate with expert guide Spenser. Spenser was informative, enlightening, energetic, knowledgeable, personable, professional, and all together excellent. Perhaps due to the rain, it was just the two of us on the tour, which for us was very special. Thank you Spenser for sharing your insights, patience, and knowledge.

We took the longest (4 hour) tour. Our guide was excellent and, overall, the tour was very interesting and worthwhile. However, there are several things that could make the tour fantastic: (1) When you have a 9:15 AM tour and are instructed to be there at least 20 minutes ahead of time, it would be really nice if the visitor’s center - in particular the bathroom facilities - were open before 9 AM! Numerous people on my tour arrived much in need of the bathroom, given the rural area you drive through to arrive at Taliesin. Come on, people! (2) Our tour, at 25 people, many of them elderly, moved slowly. I, personally, was dismayed when we were expected to traipse across the entire estate, up and down some pretty steep hills, over grass and gravel road, in pretty high heat at high noon, to reach far-reaching buildings we were to tour. Several people in my group, including a grandmother with a heart condition, simply could not make it. Why not arrange for the shuttle buses to pick tour groups up as they finish each building cluster and move them far more quickly to the next cluster? It could cut probably 20-30 minutes off of the length of the tour and would be much more comfortable, not to mention safer, for guests! (3). We were offered a lovely snack and lemonade half-way through the tour. This was also a bathroom break, but I was shocked to learn that they had only one toilet available. Luckily, less than half of our group opted to use the toilet, but it still resulted in a good 10-15 minutes of excess sitting around waiting for the queue to finish up. This is just silly. At very modest expense it would be possible to put in two more toilets, again cutting down wasted tour time by a good 15 minutes. This is a matter of penny-wise, pound-foolish decision-making on the part of management, IMHO. These small adjustments could easily result in an information packed tour that would be 3, not 4, hours long, which would allow many more people who find standing for the longer time untenable to enjoy the tour.

An absolute must for the FLW fanatic! Our docent Andy was amazing; so knowledgeable and friendly! Keep in mind that it is an older building and that FLW was the model for many of the rooms (he was a short guy) so the ceilings are low and the chairs are small. We were there on a relatively hot day and the A/C was spotty. We did the in-depth house tour and it was exactly what we wanted.

We did the Highlights tour. It was wonderful! The school house, studio, and home are unique, with so many interesting architectural designs. The grounds are beautiful as well. You will certainly enjoy your time at Taliesin!

We had the best guide on this tour. Incredibly knowledgeable and fantastic delivery of the information. It was so good to come back and be able to revisit Taliesin and be reminded how an incredible a site that it is to visit.. I would highly recommend that any or all visitors to Wisconsin put it on their must see list!!!!!

Bill was absolutely amazing. He was so knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor as well. He brought you into the life and living space of Wright by making you think, and asking questions of the group.
Don't show up late. That happened with our tour. Your guide informs you of what is off limits in terms of touching things prior to entering the property. The group that showed up after we had already started the tour, immediately started touching things which were off limits, and asked questions which had already been covered. It was really rude and annoying.

Although we had heard about Taliesin for years, we never had an opportunity to visit until now. Having seen a number of FLW commissions from private residences to places of worship, we were familiar with what we might see. Unlike the Robie or Hollyhock House, Taliesin was a working canvas. It was not the pristine end product you may expect. For better or worse. We were informed the house had over a 100 modifications over the span FLW lived at this residence, approximately 30 or so years. The grounds are magnificent. We Uber’d from Madison for about $80, but our pre-scheduled return Uber cancelled on us leaving us stranded while a cab came to pick us up. The only hiccup in a fantastic day. Essential for FLW completists.

We did the 2 h house tour. Craig, our guide, was informative, passionate and personable. Lots of information, but time to look around and take things in without feeling herded or rushed. Stunning property, what a gift!

Very friendly staff. Dan(?) was our docent and a great one. Answered a lot of the questions thrown at him. It was a warm day and there was quite a bit of walking but it was well paced. There was a water, snack/bathroom break about 3/4 of the way thru which was much appreciated. We really enjoyed or visit to the house, outbuildings and grounds. Lunch in the snack bar was also very good. My wife and I split a sandwich which was very filling.

Those interested in architecture shouldn’t miss Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin. Located in the gently rolling hills of lower Wisconsin, it was his home and “school.” The house, numerous outbuildings and grounds are meticulously preserved and the foundation provides a variety of tours.

Lived here in Wisconsin of 80 years, drove by Taliesin many times and never stopped. What treasure we have here in the state. Well worth the visit.

Excellence presentation by the tour guide. It was in depth and thorough information. The walkthrough was in an order of events which helped place you in that time frame.

Dale was a super guide we really learned and enjoyed our time. We have visited a few of Frank Loyd Wrights creations and plan on seeing them all. Thank you for all your great preservation work. Keeping our history alive.

We loved the tour, it was very worth the time and fee! Our guide was fun to be with and very knowledgeable. No bugs, good weather.

There were 3 in our group; we are old cycling buddies that meet in Madison WI each June to bike some of the great nerby trails. This year June 2025) we got rained out, and decided to use a rainy day to visit Taliesin, as we had 13 years earlier.
We were not diappointed! From the intro in the gift shop, through the Highlights tour and back to the gift shop and lunch at the cafe, we had a wonderful, informative time. Our docent, Kenny, knew his history and told us a whole lot about Wright, his designs, his philosophy and his art with good humor and a charming willlingness to tackle any and all questions his tour group threw at him. Taliesin itself is a beautiful complex of landscape, rural views, fascinating buildings and lliving history. It is simply not to be missed.

Everyone so courteous and knowledgeable. Questions from the tour group could not stump them. They were more like a tour 'buddy'; not just a tour guide.

My husband and I both loved the Highlights guided tour. The landscape and properties are gorgeous and well maintained, but the stand out was our tour guide, Bill. A natural storyteller and extremely knowledgeable about everything on the tour, he made the trip even more interesting, educational and special. The gift shop was full of art I wanted to purchase, and everyone we met was kind and helpful. I would certainly return for other tours. Definitely highly recommend!

This is my third time touring Taliesin and I learn something new each time and continue to be impressed with Wright's contributions to architecture. Each time I have brought a different friend to introduce to this beautiful place. We had a wonderful tour guide who gave us interesting insights into Wright's life and his design elements. The shuttle makes it easy to get around.

Very informative and interesting. Guide really knew his stuff. Lots of architectural information added insights.

Wanted to visit after reading the book Loving Frank. It was a great tour and brought the book to life! What a fascinating life Wright lead

I would highly recommend even if you aren't a rabid Frank Lloyd Wright fan. Very interesting tour., covering both architecture and his life and the affect it had on others. I was concerned 4 hours would be too long but our guide Dan made it fly by and snacks (made with love by Mary Bridget) and a drink were provided at the perfect time with a little sit down time. The landscape of this area of Wisconsin is very serene, not to be missed.

Large estate of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home and Fellowship School. Beautiful sandstone walls under angled sloping roof. A must-see for FLW devotees!
Lovely gift shop and cafe for lunch. Take the 4 hour in-depth tour with Spencer as your guide!!

Fabulous grounds/home. Nature inspired. Constant preservation required. Has seen many repairs over the years and continues to require more. Has been added onto many times while Wright was alive.

As we walked through the 30,000 s f property, we smiled at the many ways my woodworking dad used techniques & styles of FLW without realizing the genius behind those choices. Plywood? Who would think such a brilliant architect would rely on such an inexpensive material ?
Our guide - Bill - shared great insights to FLW's life, inc. scandals, design intentions, and his quirkiness.
Grounds and property are beautifully maintained... use of transport shuttles preserves the home on the brow... gift shop offers nice selection... cafe has a lovely view but was already closed for the season.
Not a place for anyone with mobility issues as that was not part of FLW's design and accommodating ADA would diminish the integrity of this UNESCO site. Leave children under 10 at home unless they are LEGO enthusiasts or artistically inclined and would be intrigued by the architecture.

Very interesting and educational. Learned things about Wright that I never knew before. Our guide was very informative and really got us involved.

We took the highlights tour. We had Eric as a tour guide and he was knowledgeable and easy to understand. The school and house are just amazing! The stories Eric told really added to the experience. You do not have to be a Frank Lloyd Wright fan to appreciate the design.

A great place and a great guide, awesome scenery and a very educational afternoon about the architekt and his work and life

Did the two-hour tour. Our tour guide gave us lots of information about the property and FLW himself. Would recommend.

Extremely interesting tour by Dewie. He was personally very intrigued in Frank Lloyd Wright and it was reflected in how much information he had and shared. The entire tour was filled with facts and observations. The house and school are art filled with FLW collections. The history of his life was more interesting than I had expected.

We had an awesome visit/tour of Taliesin! Learned so much about the life of Frank Lloyd Wright, his family and all that were a part of his life. Also learned so much about what has occurred at Taliesin after his death. Our tour guide Spencer was awesome, so knowledgeable, letting us ask many questions/and answering them.

We have visited Frank Lloyd Wright sites, including Oak Park and Falling Water. This was perhaps the best.

It was a chilly April day, but touring with Dewey was an absolute delight. We had a great time. We've toured several of Wright's works and enjoyed this one very much.

The wonderful insights our guide provided fully enriched our experience. We will definitely visit more sites! Many thanks to Dan and the rest of the lovely, friendly staff.

The tour guides were knowledgeable and fluent. When the tour was over I really felt that I knew the man and the place much better and was inspired by his life. All of the staff were courteous and helpful.

Our highlights tour covered everything about Taliesin and Frank Lloyd Wright that we had hoped and more! Dewey, our guide, had so much information to share with us that our tour ran a bit over the time, but no one was complaining. He willingly and thoroughly answered every question. It would have been nice to have had more time to take pictures of the exterior of Taliesin, but otherwise, it was an absolutely wonderful tour.

A trip to Taliesin is a trip back in time! THe folks at the Visitor Center are loaded with knowledge and will set you up in the best tour for you! The food at the Visitor Center is really good and the menu changes with the seasons. Even a stroll through the gift shop shows off the amazing design aesthetic! The drive to Taliesin alone is worth the trip!

We took the 2 hour house tour at Taliesen. Tour guide Spencer was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about his work. It was an interesting tour, filled with information about the rooms we saw, FLW the man, and about the ongoing restoration work that is being done onsite. I highly recommend a visit.

We had a wonderful time and learned a lot at the Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin in Spring Green, WI.
They do a great job - food in the Visitor Center cafe is amazing and the gift shop had some great stuff! What a beautiful property and I'm grateful they are preserving Wright's architecture legacy.

We took the Highlights Tour and thoroughly enjoyed all two hours and 15 minutes. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable, and turned the whole thing into a fascinating history lesson full of interesting facts (and even a little scandal). This whetted my appetite for the full four-hour tour someday!

Well worth the drive to a surprisingly remote location. An opportunity to see first hand the development of Wright’s architectural philosophy.

We took a four hour tour through this amazing site. There were shorter tours available. On this tour we visited the four main sites. There was a lot of walking on this very hot day but it was broken up into doable segments. The tour provided wonderful insight into the life of Frank Lloyd Wright. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide, Bill.

Finally got to visit this amazing place! The tour was just as good as I had hoped. Our guide was Roann, and she was great. I went on the 2 hour house tour and wished I could have stayed longer. A must-see for any Frank Lloyd Wright fan.

We absolutely enjoyed our recent Estate Tour of Taliesin. Our guide Dale, was outstanding and very informative. The full 4-hour experience is well worth every dollar (and then some).
Getting to see the complex has been on our bucket list for years and walking through the fields to the other various sites on the estate really made us feel a part of Wright's world of a hundred years ago. During the mid-tour snack break I even got it use the original main house master bedroom bathroom!
We have toured many other Wright buildings & homes around the country, but seeing where the creative inspiration came from for most of them helped to pull together all of the collective nuances of each individual design.
After the tour enjoyed lunch at the River Cafe.
We wish the Preservation Foundation great success into the future as they strive to keep Taliesin alive for generations to come.

What an amazing site! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the structures, the history, and the man himself. So far ahead of his contemporaries in technology as well as bending the curve on architecture. Well worth your time.

As we visited Taliesin West in Arizona last year, we were fond of visiting the Taliesin house in Wisconsin this year. We took the 2,5 hour highlight tour with guide Dale. We learned a lot about the history of the house with all the drama through the years. It was not cheap to get in but it was worth it definitively.

Very informative. Friendly guide and hosts. Gift shop was lively with local artists. Had water available on tour. I enjoyed the theater a lot. Very interesting and beautifully restored.

The Estate Tour is a great way to see much of what Taliesin includes. The tour is very informative and allows you to really get a first hand feeling of what it was like living and working there. The area around the property is beautiful. It is very green, peaceful, and serene. Wright's presence is evident through this experience.

A must for lovers of FLW. Stunning situation in the middle of rolling prarie hills. The tour provides exceptional insight into the architect's personal and professional life. Suggest reading "Loving Frank" prior to your visit for a fully immersive experience.
Timed tour tickets must be purchased online in advance, there is no admittance without the tour. The groups are small and the docents exceptional.
Not ADA, not suitable for children, no pets. Parking onsite. Fantastic high end gift shop. See website for current info on food&bev.
Pricey, yes, but a truly memorable experience for fans of architecture and FLW.

We picked the 3 PM self guided IPad tour. Staff were very informative and helpful while we gathered to take the shuttle to the venue from the Visitor Center. The guide w us was knowledgeable and helpful. Throughly an experience not to be missed!

The best thing to do is check this attraction out online, find the tour that suits you best, and book that tour. Some of the tours are a lot longer than others, and some will tell you too much information than you want to know. We took the architectural tour and were not disappointed. You can take as many photos as you wish, and enjoy the interior as well as the exterior of the building complex, but don't touch anything unless you are told you can lean on or sit on a surface. The guides are very knowledgeable and interesting, and they don't have guide fatigue which results in a spiritless necessitation of mindless facts. Here the presentations are lively and interesting. You'll enjoy your time here.

Wanted to see more views of the home both interior and exterior... but our guide was great. Pleasant and knowledgeable. We took the 2 hour tour because of a broken foot.

My 17 year old son and I loved the tour of the Taliesin in Spring Green. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable on the property and Frank Lloyd Wright as you would expect. If you like Frank Lloyd Wright, architecture or just cool history, you need to check it out.

The Highlights Tour gived you an ideal sense of Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision of architecture and how he adapted it for his own home. Would have liked to hear more about Mamah who inspired him to build Taliesin.

Toured Taliesin in Wisconsin—absolutely worth it. Stunning architecture, rich history, and you really get a sense of Frank Lloyd Wright’s genius. The guide was knowledgeable without being overbearing. Peaceful setting, great views. If you're into design or just cool houses, check it out.

Reasonably close to Madison, this was a perfect place to go the day after our daughter’s wedding to mix and mingle and spend time with family who had traveled from far. Set on a beautiful piece of land the, the tour comprised indoor and outdoor spaces. Our tour was led by Dan who was very knowledgeable about every aspect of the property and its history. It was interesting to learn about Frank Lloyd Wright’s and see how it affected his home as he rebuilt, remodeled, modified, etc. according to his needs. I loved to see how he seamlessly blended the inside and outside. I also really enjoyed seeing his Asian art collection, especially the panels and screens.
I would like to have been able to see the apprentices rooms which were made out of parts of the barn where previously livestock had been kept.
Our party included an elderly relative who needed to sit down and rest occasionally, and he was well accommodated, being able to sit down in different rooms while listening to the presentation. Some of the stone paths are a bit uneven.

Very enjoyable venue - a little disappointed that the cafe was closed for the season but otherwise loved the tour. Learned a lot of new information. Our guide was excellent! Always like the unique gift shop.

Visiting this place has been on my bucket list for a very long time, Made the trek to Spring Green and took the home tour. Now I can't wait to get back and take the self guided tour and get a little more in depth! The guides were knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. Thanks for providing this opportunity!

Beautiful grounds, warm and welcoming staff in the Visitor Center. Very negative experience on Highlights Tour. Tour guide, William, was aggressively rude to guests to the point of yelling at them if they weren’t paying rapt attention to his worshipful stories of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was all about William, not Taliesen. Very disappointing.

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary. The weather was perfect and it really added to the beautiful scenery that surrounds the grounds. The staff were all very helpful, attentive, and informative.

Our tour guide, William, was a font of wonderful tidbits and stories relating to the history of Taliesin and Frank Lloyd Wright. The Estate Tour is well worth the price and highly recommend doing it!

The tour is informational. There was time to take in the buildings, the interior, the furniture, and the view. Make sure to make an online reservation well in advance, especially during the summer.

I returned ! If you don’t do anything else in Wisconsin, DO THIS ! Best 4hr walk I’ve ever had. Bill (our guide) works Tuesday and Thursday. This man is very well read and travelled. He never misses a beat. I’m rambling, just go see this creation. Over all it’s an “11”in my book.
Peace.

If you are interested in architecture and art, I highly recommend any of the tours at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin. The scenery is beautiful as well. The tour immerses you into the life and career of Frank Lloyd Wright, exposing you to his beautiful home. Our tour guide Noa was one of the best guides I have ever had in many decades of tours.

We took the 2.5 hour tour and I'm so glad we did! This tour submerged you in the life of Frank Lloyd Wright. The artifacts and structures are awesome inspiring. I will be back!

Great. Know much more about FLW .The house is in need of much repair. I hope the it can be brought back up to original order.

I took the Highlights Tour with a group of 23 people. The guide was amazing. She told us a lot of interesting facts about the FLW live and show us the details of architecture and interior designer that made Frank Lloyd Wright recognized as one of the best architects in history.

We chose the 4 hour tour. Were a little concerned when we signed up that it may be too long. But it was broken up really well; enough downtime to make it enjoyable. Glad we opted for the complete experience.

Dale was our tour guide for the "Estate Tour" -- a 4-hour walking tour through FLW's home, the school, and a floor of his sister's home, plus walking past the barn, the windmill, and some other small buildings. By walking the 1.5 miles with our guide and having time to enjoy it all, we felt the vastness of the estate and got to hear so many more stories than we would have been able to hear on a shorter tour. Dale was a terrific guide, too. Easy to hear, despite the fact that our group was the maximum size (24), and he was respectful of guests' needs when a couple of folks needed an accommodation mid-tour. So many stories of Wright and his family as well as details about the architecture to notice and understand. Well worth the time and money!

I visited Taliesin with my daughter, who is an aspiring architect. Because of her interest, I booked the four hour tour, and I’m glad we had Dan as our guide. He did an excellent job of balancing Frank Lloyd Wright the man with Frank Lloyd Wright the visionary, which really enriched the experience.
That being said, this tour is a lot. If you have any concerns about being able to walk or stand for four hours, I recommend reconsidering. The website does note that this tour is not accessible, but it is difficult to overstate how inaccessible it really is. At the house itself, there is only one room where you can sit, and you cannot lean or touch anything throughout the visit. A docent even accompanies the group to ensure that rules are followed, which makes sense for preservation but it is something to be aware of.
A few other important things to know:
• There is only one bathroom stop during the entire four hours.
• The walking portion includes about 1.5 miles of steep hills, gravel, and grass with no benches and very little shade.
• You will definitely encounter bugs. Bring bug spray, you will need it.
To be fair, all of these caveats are listed on the website. It is my fault that I either missed them the first time or overlooked them in my excitement to book an immersive tour.
The tour itself is informative and engaging, but in terms of physical demands, it is not for everyone. I wish I could say I enjoyed the tour, but I spent the last two hours of it being uncomfortable, so I just didn’t. A couple of stops along the way to sit, have a drink, and use the restroom would go a long way to improving the tour experience.
If you have any doubts about your stamina, I recommend the two hour bus tour. It covers almost all the same highlights except the barn, which you cannot enter anyway, and Wright’s sister’s house, which is not particularly remarkable.
Overall, the four hour tour is worthwhile if you are fit and deeply interested in Wright’s life and work, but for most people the shorter option is the better choice.

Taliesin Preservation offers multiple visit options - we elected to do the Highlights Tour - 2.5 hours and approximately 25 visitors in the group.
The tour begins at the Visitor Center which has a nice array of items in the museum store and a cafe adjacent. It is difficult to find cafe details on their website, but it is inside the visitor center with a splendid view overlooking the river.
Our guide did a brief intro in the visitor center and then we boarded a small bus to go over to the Taliesin property.
The organization is truly focused on PRESERVATION. The spaces are breathtaking and it is easy to imagine FLLW creating here alongside his apprentices, but it is obvious throughout that SO MUCH preservation work needs to be done.
Thankfully, the Preservation organization has been addressing the needs and now has wonderful plans for shoring up the foundation etc.
Our Guide was wonderfully knowledgable and is a History student at UW Madison. Lots of energy and passion for everything about Taliesin including the current residents.
Apparently the apprentices were given the promise that they could live there for as long as they like, and there are spaces we don't see because they are the homes of these remaining residents.
2.5 hours was a great length of time, and the tour did not feel rushed. There were opportunities to sit in several rooms and just in habit the spaces.
There are so many plants - inside and out! It feels like a living home with the number of plants throughout.
There were 3 in our group, one who LOVES everything FLLW, one who enjoys architecture and one who was just there for a fun day in Taliesin and who can't name 3 architects - we all had a GREAT visit.
Now on to Taliesin West.
If you go, Spring Green is a very nice small town with a couple nice spots to have lunch. We went to the Spring Green General Store for sandwiches to go and ate on their porch - perfect. Afterwards we went to the Riverside Grill set on the Wisconsin River, had appetizers and Rootbeer Floats which were amazing.
Go have fun and support the local spots in Spring Green.

Not much of a visitor center and more like a gift shop and tour checkin desk. Came here to have lunch at the cafe because nothing indicated online that it would be closed but it was. Apparently they plan to reopen it soon though.

The tour was amazing and definitely worth going. Spenser was our tour guide and was excellent. I'm a hearing impaired and I could understand and hear him at all times. The house is fascinating and odd at the same time. I wanted to be one of Wright's apprentices by the time I left. Enjoy!

This has been a bucket-list destination for many years, was very pleased that it met, and exceeded, my expectations - great experience with the ticketing and check-in process, excellent tour and tour guide. Highly recommend.

wonderful, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, all in our group were satisfied with the experience

Beyond our expectations! Beautiful tour, with an amazing tour guide (Spencer) Got to visit all the sites in the property.

Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Love the house and Wright’s designs. However, being a senior, may want to be able to sit at times. 2 hours is standing and listening is quite long.

Taliesin is an impressive property and the tour was informative and interesting. I would also recommend lunch in the restaurant on the property. The food was excellent and in a beautiful setting.

We took the Highlights Tour. The tour guide, Spencer, was very informative and seemed enthusiastic about Wright and his accomplishments.

Ayden a great informative guide. Answered all of groups questions and had a lot of great trivia about FLW

THis is was a birthday gift from my daughter and something I have been wanting to do for many years.
The entire preservation tour was everything I expected. Our guide was superb. It is a must to see the entire preservation and not just Taliesin.

My Active Women's Group took the tour of Taliesin in May and we had a wonderful tour led by Dewey Christoph. He was very knowledgeable about Taliesin and the history surrounding it.
The buildings are so unique in structure and materials and each building has its own unique style. The theatre area was really surprising with how it was constructed and the acoustics were incredible considering the date this was constructed.
A worthwhile tour for anyone interested in architecture by Frank Lloyd Wright. A many with very outstanding views for building.
Judy N

We have visited several of Wright’s houses/offices and enjoyed each. I have been to Taliesin West several times. This tour was notable for placing it in context with the rest of Wright’s life — his early attachment to this part of Wisconsin and where it fit into his professional progression for Chicago, to Oak Park, to Taliesin. It was nice to hear more about his Welsh roots and how that influenced the placement of his homes.
Amazing Tour
This was one of the best tours I've been on. Eric was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable! I would recommend this tour to everyone interested in history or architecture.
