Walked the whole Riverwalk... It was glorious. Walking along the water, a slight breeze, and plenty of people watching to do. It's an easy walk, with plenty of benches along the way. Some sun, some shade, and refreshments at the end to revitalize you...

Don't miss this great river walk. It goes for miles and is well worth the time. Lots of places to stop and sit if you need to rest along the way.

Got a parking ticket after I paid and had receipt on the dash. Tried to appeal and got denied. Won't be going back. Don't park in City of Tampa parking division.

Great to check out and just go for a stroll. Beautiful scenery in the day and night. Lots to do along the riverwalk since it goes straight throughout Tampa.

Linda in the restaurant is amazing. Always kind and personable. Linda always makes my visit to Tampa river walk hotel memorable. She is a great asset to your hotel.

If you want to go for a nice stroll, try Tampa Riverwalk. The walk is pleasant and refreshing, esp. in the summer heat. By the way, Tampa is a nice place to visit.

The river walk is in the shape of "L" that runs along the Hillsboro River and harbor side. If you walk from Harbor Island towards the aquariums, there will be more hotels, restaurants, cafes, cruises, and water sports rental facilities. That is where we found small gardens and parks, had our lunch at the Columbia Café (historical place with open area section for great view and people watching). There is a lot to see.
When we walked up north towards the children museum, less restaurants, hotels, etc. You still get a nice view of the river, across you can find the Henry B Plant Museum. We walked a few blocks in to find restaurant and ice cream shop.
The bridge that cross over to Harbor Island is the perfect spot to view the gorgeous sunset. The evenings are so pleasant in March, when we visited this area. Very clean and safe. No homelessness or anyone that concerned visitors.

Nice, clean walkway. We ended up down at Riverwalk during Christmas time. It was very cold. There was an ice rink and beautiful lights. We did start walking but it got too cold. There’s not much there besides the walkway?

Definitely a must see if you're in Tampa.
Lots of friendly people on the riverwalk and it is dog friendly as well.
You can walk, run, bike, take scooters, rollerblade; there's parks to play at and water taxis to take.
There was a lot of good vibes and good sights to see with little detours on the riverwalk. We walked a lot on here on our trip to Tampa. We would start at Armature works and went all the way into downtown and had some lovely meals there. We pretty much walked there everyday on our 5 day trip to Tampa. Perfect place for date night, family time or even alone time. Plenty of open and covered sections and also benches where you can sit and rest up.
Highly recommend!!

a downtown Tampa must! River Walk is always nice but during November the temperature & humidity are very comfortable & inviting. This trip we walked from the Hilton to the Aquarium then rode the TECO streetcar back.

Pleasant walk along the river, stopped at Ray's Fish Camp. Lots of options for everyone: art museum, restaurants, boat rentals, or just enjoying the view.

This popped up on my FB feed and I've been wanting to go downtown and wander around. I loved it. Very pretty, I'm a big fan of architecture and there are some cool buildings. Didn't understand the negative Nelly's about it. There are at least 10 places to stop and eat if that's your thing. I always carry a backpack with a water bottle and snacks. The closest parking I found was the Poe Garage. Will go down again with my bike so I can see more stuff. The Tampa University is beautiful!

A nice riverside walk through central Tampa, lots of art, places to stop for a drink, and great views. We visited in the late morning, early afternoon and stopped for lunch at Uléle restaurant. A nice way to explore downtownTampa on foot.

Great place to ride a bike or take a long walk or run. There are plenty of places to stop at for food or drinks, we found one area that must of had twenty different types of food choices plus a couple of bars. Lots of places to sit and watch people or the boats driving by.

I spent a lot of time researching the Tampa Riverwalk but found limited, spotted and scattered information. Things I wanted to know as a tourist: Where does the riverwalk begin and end? Where is the best place to park? Is there free parking ? Is it safe? Are there any good eats? Because dinner at the River's Edge Restaurant (Sheraton Hotel) satisfied my riverwalk desires, I'm going to refer to that experience too. I reserved a table around sunset and was enchanted with what transpired: a tiki bar floated by, cute dogs walked their owners, neon bicycle tires glowed in the dark, hover boarder's whizzed past, joggers jogged, rowers sculled and families strolled as the river metamorphasized from sunny day to glittering night. An added bonus, if you spend more than $30.00 at the River's Edge Restaurant, valet parking is free. Truth be told, we were a little disappointed with the quality of the food. The restaurant does however, have a lovely outdoor bar if you prefer a glass of wine. I tried to get reservations at Ulele's but it was booked out for days. Moral, think ahead if you want to eat at one of the more popular downtown restaurants. Given its location, I'm amazed the River's Edge Restaurant isn't bursting at the seams. It should be. Secretly, I will always be grateful that we experienced it before that happens. BTW - the riverwalk starts at the Armature Building and ends at the Tampa History Museum. We strolled approx one mile at night and felt totally safe. Alternately, you can always find a parking garage, forget the restaurant thing and visit various historical landmarks, but that's more of a daytime adventure and a totally different experience from the one I'm describing.

Wow! This was amazing. Very beautiful area. It was nice relaxing walk and there are also nice restaurants in the area.

We just moved to the area and love the river walk so far! Great outdoor place to walk and stretch your legs and stop and grab some food along the way.

Tampa's Riverwalk is a must do if you are in the city. It is a great way to get to see downtown while also getting some exercise. This 3 mile route is a nice way to spend the morning or evening (recommend not doing it during it from 11-6 because FL gets hot). The Riverwalk is full of great views, history of Tampa, and dogs!

We got there by trolley, and changed over to the water taxi, where we enjoyed the ride up the channel. Then we stop at the park and watched children trying to ice-skating. The Christmas lights were wonderful.

Very pretty river walk the beauty only gets better as the sun goes down. The time i was there the bridge was blue one night and Rainbow the following night for Pride month.

What a gem the Riverwalk is. We walked it every single night after dinner. Beautiful, clean, festive, and fun with so many cool attractions along the way - Armature Works food building, Tampa Art Museum, Straz Center, Aquarium. Really cool place to get exercise and enjoy the warm night air.

It was a great walk. The walk way is clean. I'm 3 months post op from total knee replacement the trail had some steps but they were not difficult. It was an easy walk for me. The scenery was beautiful. Saw a bird I've never seen before, I'm sure it's a common bird down here. I would walk this trail again

Perfect for a sunny afternoon walk- do some water activities, or just enjoy the great weather in Florida.

A beautiful place to spend a few hours with family. Playground for little ones, fantastic views every where you look, boats passing by, lots of green space, just peaceful!

I like to walk along the river in the evening. Beautiful light, many people walking. There are cafes

Nice area to take a quick walk and check out downtown Tampa. Parking was easy but I hope they create more/better parking because if you aren’t early you are parking in grass/dirt lots.

Traveling from out of town, this was listed as a top 10 sight, while pretty it left to be desired. My husband and I found that the maps located throughout the walk Ne er showed us “you are here” our Lyft driver dropped us off at the Sheraton hotel (which after a while we found was smack in the middle!) While we asked to be dropped off at the “Tampa Riverwalk” there was really only something to do on each end of the walk.
So IF visiting from out of town and wanting a causal thing to do- I’d say this is not it

I’m giving 5 stars because of the area and ambience. It’s a nice place to walk, jog, bike, skate. You can also rent a boat or water ride. Don’t go out there in the middle of the summer day though; It was so hot. Go early morning or later in the evening

Wonderful place to walk, ride your bike, rollerblade. Atmosphere is clean and safe. Loved the area.!

Nice place to walk around along the river. The boardwalk also goes into the river at some point and this was nice. There's also a taxi boat you can take if you (or your kids) are too tired to walk back.

I planned to spend half a day here, I was excited to see the Winter Gardens, but without renting a boat or going on a cruise, there wasn't much to do. We even went to the art museum to take up some time.

From everything I'd seen advertised, I expected some good attractions/cafes etc., along the way. I saw hardly anything. Sure, it's a pleasant walk but in such oppressive heat, you need to refresh yourself now and again.

Visited her on a recent trip to Tampa. There were both shady and sunny areas and it also seemed very pet friendly. At one end is a very nice food court.

I went on a clear night when the area was bustling. The Bolts were playing and I could hear all the excitement and music from the arena. There was a conference in town and people were out and about. It was nice strolling and taking in the sights and looking at all the different boats. So much to do! Water taxi to the other side, rent a floating tiki bar, water ski, star gaze, eat, drink, you name it. You could even sit in the park or take a romantic walk, or walk around with your pooch. I’ll definitely come back.

It's a nice stroll along the river. There are some food and drinks at booths near the Curtis Hixon waterfront park. From there we walked towards the bay. There could possibly be more to see if we would have walked more up river.

Was there for Super Bowl with family. It was total chaos with no social distancing and many, many without masks. We were crossing over bridge to our hotel, and right there were men selling tshirts that said "Suck my d*** and eat my P***y. How is this allowed? No thanks.

It is always a beautiful walk along the Riverwalk. I enjoy the bike riding, dog walking and just sitting on a bench.

Now that Tampa has the Riverwalk it is difficult to imagine it ever NOT being part of the landscape. You will find people at all hours running, walking, cycling, and rollerblading. An excellent place to get some exercise or at least fresh air and sunshine. Reminders have been added regarding social distancing. I
f you are not familiar with Tampa you need to know that the Riverwalk is, for the time being, divided at Cass Street. The southern section takes you down to the Convention Center area. If you cross Cass Street and head north you will find Waterworks Park, Florida-native themed Ulele restaurant, the many dining options at Armature Works and more. It's worth making your way thru the construction to enjoy both ends of the Riverwalk.

Lovely walk/ stroll along the river on a sunny day. Bring an umbrella if it rains or just enjoy it. Easy way to get between some of the downtown museums. 2.6 miles from end to end.

The weather was perfect, the scenery BEAUTIFUL!! Tampa Riverwalk is 2.6-mile walkway along the water. Great for biking, walking, jogging, strolling and (for parents) strollering, there are even 3 swing benches for you to sit enjoy the view and breeze. The Riverwalk led to Armature Works where you can grab food and drinks to go. I enjoyed the walk immensely.

The highlight of our trip. We did this on Labor Day morning which made getting to and finding parking in down town Tampa no problem at all. We parked near the art museum on the street which was $2.50 an hour. We spent about 3 hours walking the river walk, going to sparkmans wharf and getting coffee at the publix greenwise store.
The walk varies between shade and direct unavoidable sun so take precautions. There is also a detour right now that forces you in a highly trafficked tunnel.
There were a lot of families, bikers and joggers along for the duration. The only place with noticeable homeless gatherings were the USF park portion.

Super nice at night time on a warm evening. Even on a Sunday around 7pm, lots to see and do. Very nice views and fun atmosphere. Tired us out for a good nights sleep.

Every waterfront city should do what Tampa has done! Very nice place to exercise it just take a stroll along the water. Loved it!

If you have a few hours to spare and want to get in some exercise, riverwalk is beautiful especially in the mornings and at evening time! There are many great views and sights on either side of the water.

Beautiful and pleasant place, great for spending a pleasant afternoon with the family. Good food and a lot of fun. OK. Visit

We live in area and the Riverwalk is one of our favorite places to go, great views, great food and nice walking areas. If you are in Tampa you need to check the Riverwalk out.

This was a pretty cool spot downtown. Watching the water taxis come through with the tunes and the people riding bikes, skateboards or just walking through like my family and I did was cool. I would certainly visit this spot again.

It was a great experience to walk for a while along the Riverwalk, you get an excellent view of the city, lots of people around, interesting stuff to look at, near all the great hotels in the downtown.

Riverwalk starts at the Convention Center. Truly enjoyable river walk. Wide open area with many nice restaurants to stop at. this is a safe place to walk. Also close to downtown Tampa and fine hotels.

Beautiful night time views. I stayed in a hotel across the street. It's very peaceful at night. Several miles to walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery and all of the boats.

Very close to free street car stop 11 downtown Tampa a nice area to walk on 2nd January plenty of runners dog walking just plenty to see really pleasant place very flat and easy to walk

Clean well maintained river walk and marine restaurants along the way and has clean public restrooms

The Tampa Riverwalk is a nice stroll along the waterway. There are places to stop and rest under the shade in the heat of the day.

Beautiful scenery, families and couples outside enjoying the weather in a spacial setting! You are close to the arena, several museums and restaurants..... Definitely not to be missed when visitiing Tampa!

we took a three mile according to the step tracker, but it was a lovely stroll along the waterfront, partly in full sun, but dotted with many shady spots. We spent a little time on the swings, and on the "lawn" filled with Adirondack chairs.

We spent hours walking this awesome riverwalk in Tampa. If you visit the area this is a must do for sure. Whether you are by yourself, or a group this is an awesome place to see.

Walk near the water, see some boats... nothing much to see. The skyline of Tampa... not a nice place to drink on the Riverwalk (only in the mall).

Went to explore a few things in Tampa and the x c river walk was lovely. Due to being first time in Tampa parking was a little difficult but once parked this waz a lovely walk, with all kinds of things do to along it such as resturants, boat tours, museums, beautiful landscape will definately go again.

This is where tourists mix with locals to enjoy a large array of snacks and beverages, indoors with A/C and rooftop. A fun stroll through what is still growing so next time you visit your options would be expanded.

Well, after living here for 35yrs and living, working and hanging out not far from The Riverwalk area I decided to do it. They area has had many upgrades since I’ve lived here. And after walking on it for an hour and looking at the sights, sounds and people I’ve realized it was all very worthwhile! Thank you city of Tampa for indulging our request! It is a gorgeous area, can be better but overall a great place for a walk!

We went here on Thanksgiving night. We parked in a paid parking deck near the Tampa Museum of Art but later realized there was free parking along the river walk. The river walk felt safe, it was well illuminated, clean, dogs were allowed. The views were great. If you like to walk or cycle, we would recommend this walk.

The Riverwalk connects a number of civic and cultural sights, along with a handful recreational opportunities along the riverfront. A pleasant, but unremarkable walk.

It is a very pleasant walk between the river and the buildings, the area is necessarily particularly popular with joggers and skatters.

Excellent place to go to get some exercise or just for a casual stroll. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the occasional, sometimes frequent smell of weed gets old.

Great views with plenty of places to take pictures, relax on a bench, or stop at a restaurant for food/drink. Did the walk in Sept, so it was hot but plenty of shade on the way.

Gorgeous walkways, scenic views, restaurants and all along the Hillsborough River; lots to do and see especially during the season and gorgeous weather

This is a great place to go for a walk in the morning near a number of hotels. Lots of activity to observe

All other attractions for activities may have slgum interest but are repeating many others. The Riverwalj, with all its extent runs through the islands, marginal to the river, all downtown

During a recent business trip, I needed a place to run. I saw the Riverwalk on Strava and the heat map proved promising. The entire riverwalk is 2.2 miles one way (4.4 miles with return). The entire segment is well lit, paved, and fully marked. There is a singular road crossing; otherwise, you go under the perpendicular roads. I was absolutely amazed that I saw no homeless people or panhandlers. During the early AM hours (05:00) there were at least a dozen other walkers, runners, and cyclists.
If you need a safe place to run that is well marked, well-lit, and beautiful views...this is it.
P.S. there were public water fountains, but in early March they were disabled. Bring your own water.

Wonderful place for a walk and sightseeing. The view that opens for your eyes is just perfect. Just walk, breathe and rest.

Tampa is neat and clean city .we enjoyed walking and eating at the river walk .They have few bars and restaurants and we had no problem finding a parking space.

Very nice water view walk area in Tampa. Enjoyed the newer sections I have not seen. The Ferry to St.Pete is now an added bonus.
Only issue, same as trails near my home is more Shaded areas needed here in Florida.

Wow. Walk until you drop! Ever-changing scenery from majestic buildings to rivers and bays. The wide path is in excellent condition and has so many side-trails that you could go on for hours. Really enjoyed this feature in Tampa. Connects to Bayshore Boulevard if you’d like to add miles to your walk.

Tampa Riverwalk is a nice area by the Hillsborough river in the very center. The entire area is well maintained, very clean and safe. Nice walking, jogging, cycling path, several cafes and restaurants and river views.
However, I didn't find it so attractive for tourists. Apart the above, there's nothing else to see nor do, but I suppose it's a great relaxation spot for locals.
For those who've been to San Antonio, by no means don't expect to find such a Riverwalk here.

The Tampa Riverwalk doesn't resemble the Riverwalk in Chicago or San Antonio. But it certainly accomplishes the purpose it was built to do, enhance the image of Tamp as a beautiful and unique destination and highlight Tampa's waterfront. Stretching 2.6 miles along the Hillsborough River, the Tampa Riverwalk has been named one of the top 15 riverwalks in the United States. It extends along most of the downtown Tampa waterfront from the Channelside District on the eastern terminus to the mouth of the Hillsborough River and then north along the riverside to Tampa Heights, forming a continuous path that connects a multitude of parks, attractions, public spaces, hotels and restaurants. Established in 1989, it allows tourists to visit many of the city's notable points of interest, including the Tampa Bay History Center, Amalie Arena, the Tampa Convention Center, Rivergate Tower, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Water Works Park and the Waterfront Arts District which includes the Tampa Museum of Art, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Glazer Children's Museum and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. The most spectacular view on the Tampa Riverwalk is the Sail, a 360-degree waterfront bar located near the Tampa Convention Center, which affords unparalleled views of the water and is a great place to watch the sunset.

The Tampa Riverwalk goes through the downtown area. Be careful of bikes and skaters! I felt safe, even in the evening. The area around the convention center was closed for maintenance when we were there, but there was a clearly marked detour.

I started the Tampa Riverwalk by Channelside drive in downtown in early afternoon. It was very hot but I was surprised to still see many people out walking. I went to Curtis Hixson park which was enough for me. There were plenty of people on bikes or scooters which would be a great way to see everything. It is a great amenity in downtown Tampa and a fun way to see the city.

The river-walk was very nice for a mid evening stroll, The night walk was very relaxing cool breeze with very good lighting and very peaceful. The morning walk to begin your day was rejuvenating!

Tampa is a beautiful city and the Riverwalk is a lovely place to stroll and enjoy the views. There is a beautiful lawn in front of the art museum. Street musicians perform along the walk. Gorgeous views of UTampa.

After a morning of meetings what better way to enjoy the beautiful weather than to walk along the Riverwalk. It acknowledges past city leaders with plaques. Wide and safe.!

This is a nice place - you can take a relaxed walk with family or friends. It feels nice especially in sunny weather.

We walked almost the entire Riverwalk, parking at Laurel St, where there is free street parking, stopping at the Starbucks in the lobby of the Embassy Suites by the Convention Center for a beverage, and back again. There is artwork, parks, and beautiful buildings to enjoy. Respect is how I view Tampa after walking this Riverwalk.

We decided to walk a portion of the Riverwalk as we visited Armature Works. Very nice and clean and was great to walk and enjoy River. Had many shaded areas along the way. Great way to get some exercise in.

The Riverwalk is a busy place for strolling, running, walking the dog, biking, rollerblading or skateboarding. There's plenty of room for everyone. Along the way are restaurants, hotels, museums and shops. It's the place to be in Tampa.

It is fun and beautiful and you can take the river taxis to go to many places along the river. However it is expensive if you only want to go a short distance of 2 or 3 stops. I wish they had more restaurants and eateries that you can stop and eat. Many of them are not worth stopping at such as the Marriott since it has a very small and expensive menu. However as a walk it is fun and Curtis Hixon Park has many events to enjoy if you check their calendar

Great way to spend an afternoon/evening.
Loved it so much, I came here twice the same day. Wife took a lot of pictures.
Highly recommended.

Excellent viewing of the river with many restaurants and bars serving great variety of food and drinks
Parking is limited so come early

Beautiful, long walk. The walk and surrounding areas are well maintained. Plenty of seating along the way.

We walked the river walk multiple times during our visit. Both day and night. Parts still under construction, so it will only get bigger. Would love to visit if it had booths, or an art fair alone the walk.

Staying downtown Tampa we wanted to go for a walk on the Riverwalk, but you can't get there from here. Using our phones Maps directions, we judged couldn't get there due to construction. Trying to walk from our hotel, eventually worked out. You wind up walking through a hotels open bar area to get to the Riverwalk. Very comfortable walkway, benches and bars to visit on a sunny day.

We really enjoyed our afternoon stroll along the river walk. The walk is very well executed and provides lovely views along the river. Just a very nice locale for a leisurely walk.

Nice and clean path. Gets a little crazy with all the bikes trying to get by. Wish there were some cafe's or something to do along the way.

Thoroughly recommended to get an idea of Tampa. Nice accessible wide walkway, with a pleasant atmosphere. Nice way to learn about the area, and see it for the first time
Our only piece of feedback is that is could be nice to include a few more pieces of information about Tampa - eg what you’re walking near etc.

My complaint is one of safety along the Riverwalk. For about two weeks I have been walking from Bayshore to the Riverwalk and going in various directions and noticed the same safety issues; young people on bicycles riding wheelies, motorized skateboards, mopeds, city scooters, and other non-motorized vehicles running well over 15 MPH in some cases! The kid yesterday was riding wheelies through the construction zone from the convention center to the USF Park, back and forth, nearly hitting me twice with zero consideration for anyone else! Others are flying by on all sorts of speedy wheeled toys with NO regard for slowing down around pedestrians or even trying to avoid people, it’s more like an obstacle course or a game of chicken for these disrespectful clowns! My observations are during mid-day in the middle of the week?!? I can’t imagine weekends or busy periods in downtown Tampa?!? I don’t know Hillsborough County policy on the Riverwalk, however, unless they want to change the name to the Riverwalk-Speedway, and notifying pedestrians to wear safety gear e.g. helmets, kneepads, and 911 on speed dial, STOP this behavior?!?

A lot of attractions and sights. Very interesting and different for all ages. Good landmarks and easy to find your way around. Near good places for food

Tampa Riverwalk offers a pleasant area to stole and enjoy what downtown has to offer. There are lots of events throughout the year at the parks and even facts posted about the local history.

This is the new place to hang out in Tampa! Fun place to eat and drink and exercise. Also, a wonderful place to people watch along the water!

It helped that the weather was gorgeous during our visit. We enjoyed several strolls along the Riverwalk during our visit. The area is very clean with a wide walkway so it’s perfect for fast walking or just strolling. We also passed folks on skateboards and bikes. The sea gulls are overhead and the breeze is so nice.

Tampa Riverwalk in April is a wonderful day trip. Whether your walking, biking, or boating the area is open and super scenic with beautiful city views and evening sunsets. Wonderful place to enjoy individual and group outdoor activities. Plenty of resturants to select from at the Armature Works. We walked the waterside in the afternoon and took the water taxi at sunset to enjoyed the cool breeze. The water park for children is open! Easy to park by the Armature Works with 4 hour free parking. From an out of towner point of view, the city should be proud and overjoyed to have this city haven. Five stars on this people place city of Tampa!

In Tampa for a convention. The Riverwalk is a nice walkway between our hotel and the convention center. Lots of folks walking, riding bikes, rental skateboards and Segways. Nice to have the Trolley Car two blocks over too.

We decided to do a walk for the superbowl week. Beautiful walk with nice sights, great sunset, good eats, drinks, and more.

Walked about a mile on the river walk from Curtis Hixon Park to the aquarium. It was beautiful, clean, with easy to read signage. Nice addition to the Tampa downtown.

What's better than an uninterrupted walk in the city? Ok, I can think of lots of things, but it's still a really nice walk with excellent views over the river. A few entertainers along the way, but it's uncrowded and there are no vehicles to watch for.

It is a great place to walk especially at evening during the summer. There are usually dolphins in the area. Just watch out for bike riders as they do ride on the path and can get going fast. Also Sparkman wharf and Armature works are on opposite ends of the walk and have great places to eat.

Love taking a stroll on the Riverwalk. The view is beautiful. Usually lots of activity. Haven't walked at night, only during day.

The riverwalk is very nice in the evening when it is not soooo hot in July. Lots of people here so you can only walk slowly. Good for river and people watching.

Enjoyed the walk along this area. Warm night made everything all the better. If you ate too much supper this is a great to burn it off

Very relaxing if you want to take a stroll, have some food and drinks. Nice atmosphere. Only down side is there are not a lot of waking in the shade. Bring hat or sunblock. There are Uber scooters and motorized skateboards to rent. You can also Kayak, boat or paddle board. It’s a nice way to break up the day.

Like to walk around there at night and see the lights of the city. Good eating places in the area. Nice Adirondack chair to relax in!

Had a few hours to kill while in Tampa & this seemed a great spot. You need to find a parking spot, which was $13. The walk is an easy place to stroll & people watch. There are occasional shady areas via sail shades. There is a nice playground we stopped at to let the little one get some energy out too. It was a pretty walk along the river & we enjoyed it very much.

Very nice walk on a sunny day with the wife. Beautiful views of Tampa, really clean and plenty of people walking, running and bicycles. Parking fairly close.

It was nice to walk at Tampa Riverwalk, they have a place with some small restaurants and beautiful views of the bay

We took a short stroll on the Riverwalk after visiting the Tampa Bay History Center. It's literally, just out the front door.
The walk is indeed adjacent to the water and is wide enough for both couples and families on a stroll to share with bicycles or other individual wheeled conveyances. It felt like a good way to take the pace down and people watch. There are boats moored in the water, and hotel and other establishments with outdoor bars and restaurants.
I would have like to have seen it at night as well as during the height of the day.

Literally it’s just walking around n looking at the view of you don’t like walking you won’t like this it’s also better if you have money to stop somewhere and eat

Enjoy a stroll on a pleasant evening through the heart of Tampa. You'll love the view and Fido will, too. Family-friendly with a park, some restaurants and attractions along the path. If you happen to be in downtown Tampa during any of the many events don't forget to take a stroll down Riverwalk. Tampa did a good job on this project!

This has got to be one of the most beautiful River Walks in the country! I just love the walk and the view of downtown Tampa.

The river walk in down town Tampa is a great way to enjoy the best views of the city; great for a day of good food at Ulele, drinks at armature works or the convention center, or a quick jog by the water.

The Riverwalk meanders along the Hillsborough River and Garrison Channel, adjacent to Downtown. We spent a morning walking along the water and were able to see most of the city as well. There are many opportunities to stops for a drink or a bite to eat, as well as visit some of the city's main attractions.

Definitely worth a visit, in my case I parked near the restaurant ULELE, where you can find free parking from Monday to Friday until 4 pm. The riverwalk is completely exposed to the sun, so I recommend it in the less hot hours. There are no refreshment facilities during the riverwalk, so equip yourself just in case. Definitely worth a visit

Structurally the layout of the river walk is fabulous, Museums, hotels, parks, playgrounds, dog parks, many different types of boat rides, shaded areas every 100 yards, well maintained benches and restaurants. But this is entirely negated by the lack of security. We spent four hours there on a Saturday afternoon and didn’t see one security guard. If everyone was well behaved, it wouldn’t be a problem. However, bicycles, Segways, skateboards, and skates are intermingled with parents letting their two year old run wild, many people walking their dogs, old people in wheel chairs and drunken Spring Breakers. The scariest incident was when 20 teenagers came barreling down the walk in a single file doing wheelies just missing a number of people. Another negative is a water area near the Sheraton full of trash and smelling like a garbage dump. Just a matter of time before there is a serious accident on the walk.

We walked along the riverwalk, it is so calm and beautiful, amazing how a city can think of such good things for their residents and visitors, another must do!!

We walked the Riverwalk after dining downtown. Really nicely done with drive up and boat up. Nice lighting. Water park. Plenty of open space.

We started at the beginning, at the water works park. Lots of restaurants there and just a very pleasant atmosphere. Found some interesting head statues of important and accomplished people in Tampa's history. Lots of joggers plus leashed dogs.

The Tampa Riverwalk was a big surprise to us when were at the old Ice Palace. A must go to when in downtown Tampa.

What a wonderful place to walk. Beautiful view. Even terrain. There is some construction at this time but easy to maneuver through. You can walk for hours. Lots of joggers and bikers as well. Make sure to look down to read the engraved pavers. Light show is coming soon

Exercise, Exploration of one’s psyche is founded on the ideals , Happy mind is a happy body. The Riverwalk is a journey of past, present and future memories.

Relaxing and suggestive walk. The best time is from sunset to evening for a show of light and joy!

We completed part of this roughly 4-mile out-and-back trail on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in July. Needless to say, there wasn't much activity going on a that time. The trail hugs the Garrison Channel and Hillsborough River and gives you an impression of the powerhouse city that Tampa is in the State of Florida, judging from its many highrise buildings.

The river walk of Tampa is well lit and safe. It was pleasant evening walk along the river. It would have been nice to have a few more restaurants to visit. All in all, we enjoyed our evening.

What a modern and beautiful walk that was. We parked in a public parking where it starts. Our walk took us about an hour one way and back. Of course we made several stops. Take plenty of water, a hat, sunblock and comfy shoes. It is so well labeled. There are maps everywhere indicating restroom areas and water taxis. The grand finale is at the end of the walk. Don't miss going into the market, my favorite part of the walk. Overall one of my favorite riverwalk strolls..

Walked down the river walk and enjoyed the cover at regular intervals. The waterfront is peaceful and active.

Riverwalk consists of a long winding area that connects multiple restaurants, bars, "things to do" places together in a great walkable area on the water. Locals will ride bikes, run, walk this area as well so it's consistently active with a great mix of local and visitors.

Make sure you have your walking shoes on it is a long stretch which was fine by me, unique restaurants- just a little too crowded for me. Some free parking spots.

I loved it! A great way to enjoy a relaxing walk along the river. I went in the evening when it wasn’t too hot

Have been to a lot better River walks in US and elsewhere it is nice but no cafes restaurants or any place to enjoy and relax However you see Downtown

I came this weekday morning for exercise to walk off the hearty breakfast I had, and to people watch. It was chilly, which sped up my walking speed. Plenty of people here, though it wasn't crowded. Most were pedestrians, some with a dog. A few bicyclists were out and about, but they were easy to avoid. A woman was pushing her infant in a baby carriage, moving along briskly. Rollerbladers were zipping along, but easily dodged pedestrians. There were several people moving about on the two-wheel electric scooters that you stand on. Neat river view. I had no problem maintaining social distancing. I suspect that it would be busier on weekends. Good for people watching

Boardwalk not just about walking but it has amazing Tampa scenic views also. It was sweet moment when sundown, if you like to fresh air spots of cities, you should go.

This is a very nice area near my hotel to walk and relax. Flat area to walk or run and being near the water makes it that much more relaxing.

With social distancing, What a nice place to eat all kinds of food ranging from Sushi,Burgers, Ice cream, Mediterranean ,Wines, beers and Cuban food. The place has a wedding location and several other restaurants to hang out.

Like many cities I have visited with a river, I expect a river walk. Tampa was not disappointing. The view was great! The people were having a good time on and off the river. Nice experience!

This was a great walk to enjoy Tampa Bay. Nice views and photo opportunities along the way. Good food and drinks at the aquarium side of the walk.

So much to see, plenty of restaurants. Restrooms along the way. Beautiful scenery. great for jogging, biking and walking.

Neat walk/run at night and during the day. This path is roughly 2.2 miles end to end. If you are looking for a spot to do a long fast run this is not your place. If you want a nice jog with a great view this is it. You can also get beers along the way. There are 2 playgrounds along the route as well.

Always love walking this trail along the river. Clean and safe area. Good food available at the pavilion. Whenever we visit Tampa we always try to work this into a day

A nice, relaxing walk along the river with plenty of great views of the river, Harbour Island and the city waterfront. Nicely paved path, running past the convention center and the Hockey arena.

Perfect location for a fun dinner at any of the Riverside restaurants then a after dinner stroll. We would recommend the American Social bar for great atmosphere and food.

It’s a nice walk. You see a lot of boats and things that are much bigger than a boat. The walk is easy and flat and it felt quite safe.

Lovely walk, but be prepared, have walking shoes on and water with you (there are restaurants and little bistros for refreshments along its length). This is a really long river walk, it’s fully concreted and is wheelchair suitable. It’s starts at South beneficial bridge and meanders all the way to the Armature works, which is a huge building with different eateries and a large central dining area. If you are the sporty type this is a great place for a run or bike, spot a seal, pelican or dolphin as you exercise.

This 2.6 mile walk stretches from Ulele restaurant and Armature Works with eateries and activities along the Hillsborough River to Sparkman Wharf. This encompasses two small parks, Water Works Park and Curtis Hixon Park both with public restrooms. the wide sidewalk path offers ample room for walkers, bicycles, and e-bikes, but some people do not understand the courtesy involved in informing people that they are coming fast. Several museums dot the path as well as the Straz Performing Arts. Several boat rides, tours, and e-bikes are available as well as stand up paddle board and kayak rentals. This is a great place to walk, ride, eat, drink, kayak, and hang out in the fresh air, day or night.

This area is very pretty with lots of food and drink options. It’s very short and does not connect to the convention center area, although the remaining mile is easy to walk. We enjoyed our stay overall.

The Tampa River walk is very nice. It is still being developed but it is very clean and nice. It is great to walk along the water and the boats with hotels and shops and restaurants nearby. Good food with good views and boat rides and boat rentals and more. It is a very safe and pleasant experience for everyone.

This is a nice area to stroll with good views of the water and the old Plant Hotel from the late 1800s.

Not much going on when we were there. A few boats on the water. The weather was overcast and maybe that had something to do with the lack of people and activity.

This is a great place to get some fresh air, observe all sorts of dogs, bikes, skateboards and see drunk people float/pedal down the river. It brings everyone out. There are swings and sculpture sprinkled along the way to keep your interest. There is a very cool restaurant Ulele, named after an Indian Princess, just off the path and worthwhile to see for at least their charbroiled oysters and a beer. Plenty of outdoor seating and photo-op sculptures. One could walk/jog the river walk every day and not be bored.

Walked this path in the morning. It is beautifully maintained and an easy stroll for anyone. Also safe and well lit at night.

Very scenic walk to the Convention center and many social and eating establishments. The resturaunts and clubs tend to be clumped in groupings, so it can be a mile walk with just a river view. A water taxi for a fee is available to shorten the walk. Nice addition to the area.,must check it out after dark.

Love walking along here while visiting sparkmans warf or taking the water taxi. Would be a great place to jog

We loved walking the Riverwalk after our meal in Tampa, the views were awesome, the vendors were awesome and the setting was perfect!!! I f I lived or worked in Tampa, I would be a regular there!!!

Great place to visit, great restaurants, great atmosphere.
You can rent bikes, eat good food and have a great view.

We usually walk from Channelside to Armature Works, stopping to enjoy the river, restaurants and parks in between. Sometimes a bit crowded with bikes and walkers, but manageable.

We ate at Ulele and walked along the river walk one late afternoon on/evening. It was an extremely pleasant walk with lots to see and do. We made it about 3/4 of the way down from ulele which made it a pretty good hike. They had a water park for kids and nice playground. We passed several museums and green spaces. It was very clean and a pleasant way to end the evening.
Most of the bike riders were pleasant and not going too fast. One group decided to come down a set of stairs near the dog park and almost took out my son (yelling sorry 🙄) on their way down. There was also a woman on a motorized big wheel which couldn’t control it and I would be surprised if she didn’t hit someone eventually. I would be shocked if those, or other, motorized vehicles weren’t banned from the riverwalk at some point - they make it a different experience than I’m sure what was planned for the area.

Because we were staying at the Marriott, access was easy and we strolled enjoying the water views, art and history. We also had hockey tickets to support the Nashville Preds and took the Riverwalk for an easy journey to the Arena.

I am from Tampa and I enjoy the walk outside. For a travelers with kids is perfect the open space and play areas alone the way. great to bring dogs. Also get your swimsuit some is some water entertainment areas as well.

We had a great walking this Riverwalk from end to end. Beautifully landscaped, great watching boats on river and a few restaurants on path to stop and grab a drink! Highly recommend!

We had some downtime and decided to check out the Tampa Riverwalk. It is a very nice walking path with a great view of the Hillsborough River and downtown Tampa. If you enjoy walking either independently, with family or friends, the Riverwalk is a great way to spend some quality time outdoors.

Living here means you go by and sometimes never really give it a good look, but recently had some friends over from Europe and they enjoyed it very much, I guess we all did. Undoubtedly a great place to stroll.

First time for me on the Tampa Riverwalk but it was fun watching all the families in an open air movie showing of "Elf". Christmas lights and Fountains dancing in colored lights were beautiful and a nice change.

Fun venue all the way. No safety issues, lot of sights to look at, at night the colors along the walk are beautiful, beautifil civic area, you can rent a Bird or UBER scooter, There are bars along the way to quench you thirst.

This place rock!! Just Do It!! Visit and you will not be disappointed.. Lots to see on the Riverwalk Totally enjoyed walking though you could take the water taxi and tour the Riverwalk if you are ot up for the walk.

It rained briefly, but we ducked in a bar for a drink. Nice walk! You can take a very long walk or a short one - all is beautiful!

My husband and I were curious about the Invasion if Tampa bay for Gasparilla. We spent an afternoon walking around downtown Tampa using the river walk as a home base. It was a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed a quick bite and a glass of wine at one of the riverfront restaurants. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the view. Tampa is a great city. The Riverwalk is the crown Jewell of Tampa!

Lovely weather made for a wonderful four mile round trip walk on this promenade along the river. We parked for free at the Water Works Park, where there are many many restaurants. The scenery was interesting and it gave us a great impression of the city. If you aren't a walker, the trolley (also free) was available. We started at 9:30 in the morning and upon return to our car we had and excellent lunch at Uk le le, a native American vibed restaurant.

I leisurely walked the entire Riverwalk and I definitely recommend. There is so much to see and lots of activities are available on different days right off of it.

Still a great place to walk or ride!!! Breath taking views and places to stop for food and drinks. A nice romantic stroll during sunset will your date wanting more.

The Tampa Riverwalk is a great way to get around and found out all about the history of tampa. After a long day at convention it was fun to explore and you could always hop onto a water taxi to get to restaurants.

Kinda boring but did go mid-day and during the week. Mostly just looked at stuff. Bought some food and used the bathroom. The $25 water taxi fee was ridiculous.

While th weather was cool fro Tampa, it was a lot better than Ohio! We enjoyed both sunrise and sunsets on the beach. Would definitely do this again.

It's a nice walk, but nothing great as far as scenery. It's clean, which is a plus. No graffiti. People walking, riding bikes, sitting down along the walkway. I thought it would be nicer, its just average.

The Tampa Riverwalk is a paved and landscaped walk next to the Hillsborough River. It follows the winding river for 2 1/2 miles (5 miles round trip) and goes from the bridge to Harbor Place to Armature Works, a new, beautiful event and food place, with many food and drink options and several good restaurants. The Riverwalk goes past Tampa’s Performing Arts Center, the Straz, the Tampa Museum of Art, and several parks and playground areas.

Our (3) visit was 2 March 2023 the last night of our business trip. Very nice area, places to eat, got ice cream from Bright Scoop, checked out boats, and some other sites. Nice to enjoy the fresh air. Clean streets, felt safe, nice stop at end of our trip.

We went there around noon. We parked in a public parking lot across the street. Parking rates were very expensive if you’re only planning on spending 1 or 2 hours. You’re better off parking in the children’s museum. There’s a beautiful park right by the museum. Great for kids. We did the walk to the university and then turned around. There’s a water taxi and some other fun boats. You can also rent scooters or bikes. There were a lot of people doing exercise around the time we went.

Lovely walk over an hour along the path on my first night in Tampa. I walked from the Barrymore a bit over a mile to the open Bay. Beautiful sunset and fun people watching.

We had an amazing night on the river riding the Pirate Taxi after dinner at Armature Works. This is a must do for anyone visiting the Tampa area.

It's family and couples friendly. You can walk a lovely walk way right by the river on one end and have a water front picnic on the other end. It's right there to seceral museums including the Tampa Art Museum. It's just so romantic and enjoyable to relax right by the river.

Hannah at the bar was amazing!
Yes, she is absolutely the best bartender we’ve ever met in our lives with a personality that glows!

Beautiful place to walk but note there are no restaurants along the Riverwalk. Also lots of people smoking weed everywhere. One evening they had an outdoor concert with food trucks. That was a nice experience. We saw a beautiful sunset there.

It's a gorgeous stretch of waterfront path. Beautiful views, historical busts of historical figures. Spots along the way to take a breather.

A brilliant walk along the river. The path is easy and well paved or boardwalk. Lots of interesting sites along the way.

The River walk in Tampa is a great place to get your steps in. The people watching is great. I start at Armature Works and head towards downtown.

We are excited we have the Tampa River walk so close to home. It is a beautiful path with lots of things to see and do along the way. You can walk or ride a bike along the riverwalk. At night see it lit up, it's clean and family friendly.

Two miles of promenade along the Tampa riverfront. The boardwalk is dotted with hotels restaurants and the Tampa museum

just simply a must do -- nuff said -- a great way to be outside and take in the energy of downtown!!

First time in Tampa and needed something to do to kill some time so decided to go to the river walk was kinda iffy at first but it was really nice it located downtown and plenty to do along the river walk from boat rides jetski drinks and eating nice views and at the end of the river walk restaurants and a little area where they was swimming at something to do while visiting Tampa

This hotel needs a LOT of work. It’s OLD and looks old. Rooms are out dated. Chipped paint everywhere. Only one elevator worked and they are small. So if it stops at all 6 floors, it can take 15 min to make it to the lobby. The hotel smells. Almost like “sea water”, or a mop water smell.
The gift shopped is crammed like a closet. This is really a 2 star hotel at best.

Beautiful way to view the river area! Many places to stop and rest.
When you get hungry or thirsty, try Y Le Le. It’s a micro brewery with very good food, drinks and service. Our server, Jordan, was very knowledgeable and informative. Would highly recommend.

On the River. Signed sites to advise of many interesting facts. Nice for exercise or for walking off a big meal. Well traveled by walkers, bikers, moms & strollers. Nice vistas of downtown Tampa.

I think the walk went from Harbour Island on the South to Armature Works on the north end. Lots of dogs and the people on bikes seem very considerate of walkers, many places the bicyclists are jerks and almost run people over. there are signs reminding people to slow down and pay attention. Great area for morning, afternoon or evening strolls. The water taxi has multiple stops along the route and there is a spot for across the bay ferry by Harbour Island

Had electric scooters can rent in area deferent companies and apps/scooter nice view went and night time some ppl walking around hospital parking lots close by recommend for safe parking. Good ice cream shop close not far.

When my wife and I visited downtown Tampa, we had some time to spend before we went on a boat ride. We walked this roverwalk from the history center, up to the Amalie Arena. It is neatly laid out and a great place to get some exercise.

Beautifully maintained walk along the river. Great for exercise, bicycle, or just a relaxing walk. We really enjoyed the area.

Great walking path in Tampa along the River. Nice views of the University of Tampa across the river. Nice playground for kids and a beautiful Gold Star Family Memorial Monument along the path,

Great addition to Tampa. The walk is very pretty and the weather the evening we went could not have been better. The buildings had very pretty lights. There were great restaurants and bars at points during the walk as well. There are museums as well.

I have been to several riverwalks and left relatively unimpressed. This was entirely different. The riverwalk gives you an opportunity to see a singificant part of the city. It stretches essentially down to the Tampa Bay History Center on one end and, with a few detours, to the Public Heights Market. Ran this every day that I was here including some cuts across to the islands and through University of Tampa Campus. Different stretches have different colored lighting at night-a nice touch. Stretches close to two full miles from RiverWalk Central, a little over 2 miles if you go the full length.

Clea, relaxing and with fine views, the riverwalk is a paved boardwalk along the Hillsborough River. Besides being a nice walk, it is close to a lot of fine restaurants and museums. A great place to visit when in Tampa.

I highly recommend taking a stroll on the riverwalk. As the boardwalk is 10’ wide there is room enough for jogger or cyclists, along with walkers. Very fun to people watch as well. Good signage along the way, with lots of benches to take a break when needed. Musicians playing under the bridges was an added treat.

Great views of the river. You can people watch and look at the big buildings, you can sit in a bench under some of the shade areas. There are few widely spaced restaurants, not any real shopping area unless you walk in a couple blocks downtown and even there you won’t find much. It’s mostly just to walk or bike or scooter and admire the view.

I have seen bad behavior among teens. This place has just way too many of them. There are smells of marijuana all along the river walk. City parking regulators give out parking fines to whoever they feel like.

Ended up walking down the Riverwalk after the hockey game last night and enjoyed the atmosphere. Even though it was raining a little, it was still very pretty.

We visited this area to kill time before a wedding. At first you dont think there's a lot to do. But actually, keep walking and you'll find the cutest Irish pub tucked away. Good food and people by the way. Across the street you'll see University of Tampa. A gorgeous feature to downtown Tampa. You can stare it for hours. This area allows space for families, has a dog park, good restaurants and photo ops at every corner. Literally. You can also cross the bridge for further activities, shopping, and food. This area is great for runners too! Perfect running path!

A great deal of effort to provide people who "Want to be seen" a place to be seen". Loads of concrete, dizzying traffic, randomly deserted scooters, no cover, and very expensive if you wish to have a sandwich or drink. Too much show and not sufficient. gentle places to relax or enjoy thearea.

We were here for Super Bowl weekend. Beautiful area. We ate at an outdoor eatery on the river walk and it was so relaxing. Food was average.

Great family environment, restaurants, boat trips, scooters available, you can walk in peace and really enjoy quiet time .

Beautiful Christmas scene - made Santa proud. Glad to see families out enjoying each other in the beautiful, crisp weather.

Have dinner and an adult beverge (or two) at one of the many quality restrarants and watch the downtown Tampa riverfront turn from bright sun to dazzling night lights - keep your eye on the meter.

Enjoyed my stay, especially my drinks that were made by the best bartender I have ever got to know. Nia thanks again and keep up the hard work.

Great place with plenty of sightseeing possibilities. Ideal for a run, walk or just sitting enjoying the harbor front ambience

Not everything is open for full hours, but it's a good walk next to the water! Enjoyed the views. Aquarium was fun!

Tampa takes full advantage of its many waterways! The Riverwalk is a great place for singles, couples, friends or families to enjoy a walk and a view. It is safe, clean, well-lit and well-marked.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful!! We loved this so much!! It is worth the almost 3 miles!! I would go again!! There was so much beauty doing this at night, lots of places to park but park close!

Love the walk and view of the river. Enjoyed being able to walk with my beer and friends. It was beustiful at night with the water fountain lights and lights along the river.

Such a beautiful area, clean safe, near shops and great restaurants, great views and walking, running

Very much enjoyed Tampa Riverwalk. Be mindful of the summer heat, but there are places to stop and rest in the shade or enjoy a cold drink.

The Tampa River Walk rivals the more famous San Antonio River Walk. More outdoors than San Antonio and a much bigger and nicer river. Fairly well marked with an adequate number of benches. Great job City of Tampa !

Beautiful area! Fun to walk and enjoy all the scenery. Thea area is clean, lovely, seeming safe and easily accessed. You will enjoy the experience!!

The tampa riverwalk is very nice. The boardwalk is good and its a nice place for people to spend time with family and just have a nice relaxing afternoon or evening.
Views of the river are ok, the walk is good exercise.

Took a drive into downtown today just needing to get out of the house. The Riverwalk was alive and well. There were many people walking, jogging, and biking on the Riverwalk. It was very hot and that is my only complaint. We walked from the Columbia Cafe (which is to not yet reopened) all the way to Tampa Armature. The total walk time was 1 hour and 15 minutes. We strolled inside the market place and got some lunch. Because of the heat we decided to rent the electric scooters to get back to the car. (We chose SPIN) which were in abundance beside the WaterWorks park. It is a bit perplexing what's closed and what's open. The Market Place was open and bustling, yet Ulele was closed. The Riverwalk again bursting with action but the Water Park and playgrounds were closed. All in all a great day of getting out, getting some fresh air, sunshine and exercise.

We enjoyed our visit to the Tampa Riverwalk. Had a fantastic lunch at Jackson’s. Walked the path’s. Beautiful!

We planned a detour to see holiday lights before a cruise. Very disappointing. I have seen better holiday decorations and lights in much smaller places. It’s fine if they are cutting back due to climate change but since they advertise a holiday light display, my review is “meh”.

Great place for walking or biking or scootering. Lots going on everywhere you go with lots of bars and restaurants.

Enjoyed walking this 2.5 mile Riverwalk along the Hillsborough River on a warm February evening. I was under the misconception that this was a "loop", it is NOT, which I found out after walking 2.2 miles, which turned into 4.4 miles by the time I got back to my hotel. Path is well lit the entire way with many benches and other places to stop and rest/relax along the way. The City of Tampa has done a great job of revitalizing this area. Be advised there are lots of college students traveling "on wheels" along this path, they come on fast and normally blasting music, stick to the sides, not the center of the path and you will have no issues.

The riverwalk winds itself along the river behind hotels and near downtown businesses. There were several historic signs and busts of historic people to admire.

Great place for an evening stroll. Several restaurant options, so easy to find something for everyone. Not as many performers as I was expecting. Felt safe the entire time.

Very nice area for walking along the river. There is a lot of park area and a nice view across the river. Don't miss it!

Very nice walkway. Water taxi's are available but very expensive.
Some restaurants along the way, not many bathrooms.

We only had one day in Tampa and Big Cat Rescue was the one place we really wanted to go, but after dinner a nice walk here was the perfect way to end the day. Hopefully we'll get back to Tampa again to explore more.

unless you are visiting one of the museums or performance venues the riverwalk itself is disappointing. Unlike the riverwalk in San Antonio,Tx there are not shops and resturants all along the walk.

Bring walking shoes, water bottle, insect repellent, umbrella. Very nice stroll along river on boardwalk, thru center of town and park. Well lighted. Pleasant breeze. Limited parking.

Several friends and I came here for a walk one evening while we were in town for a conference, and we had a very pleasant stroll here. The breeze off the water was very welcome, and we enjoyed the opportunity to people-watch. There were people biking and using Segways, and everything was alight with fairy lights at night. Lots of restaurants and things to do here.

This is the Tampa Riverwalk, distinct and separate from the 4.5 mile long Bayshore Boulevard sidewalk.
The Tampa Riverwalk is 2.4 miles of everything Tampa, they say..... open spaces and pedestrian trail connecting parks, attractions, public spaces, and hotels all the way from the Tampa downtown waterfront to the Convention Center.
Notable is the Monument Trail and the Tampa Arts District.
Tampa has more going on than you might think.

A lovely place to stroll and enjoy some amazing views that still include some relics from Tampas industrial past.

Lots of restaurants. Beautiful views. Really hot. Wish I had worn different shoes but went to Armature Works and got a drink and rested up

Alyna at the pool bar was awesome! Friendly, fun and full of information . 5 stars for this gal.
Served great drinks with a smile and offered personal ideas for places to stop in along the Riverwalk.
Lots of boat activity on the water and along the river walk.
Even saw some dolphins.
Alyna was the very best😊

Joseph was so friendly and inviting! My friends and I walked the river and stopped here to grab a drink. They were close to closing but we still received excellent service and had a lot of questions about the venue and surrounding area that he happily answered for us! We will definitely be back to visit! Thank you Joesph!

Nice area to go for a walk in the evening. The lighting and panorama are precious. Parking available. Some bars and restaurants at Mile Marker 0 - 0.5 available.

My son and I took our bikes down for a ride. He had a blast even in the crowded areas we were able to navigate. This has been in the works since I moved here in 02 and has evolved into a dynamic Riverwalk. Great job Tampa!

What a treat this place was. Ran across by luck. We spent an hour walking it at night time. Wish we had more time to come back and walk it during the day. .A great walk up and down the river. Easy walk. Wide walking paths.

This is a great idea and well executed. About 4 miles of wide boardwalk along the riverside past so classic views. Lots to see and do along the way, places to stop off for a snack and people watch

Nice place for a walk through Downtown Tampa and the riverfront area! Safe and friendly! Good place to take pictures of Tampa!

We were headed to Tampa to Side Splitters, had a ticket mishap and ended up searching for a back up. It was very busy and crowded possibly multiple events occuring. We eventually found a place to eat and walked around, it is lit up beautifully! Enjoyed a nice breezy walk along the water, will definitely go back!

We enjoyed a evening stroll and fireworks along the Riverwalk in Tampa. There was a small crowd exploring as well.

We walked half of the 2-mile Tampa Riverwalk, and it was great. The paved walkway is wide enough to accommodate several people going each direction. Along the way, we passed interesting architecture, fun parks, restaurants, and activity vendors. You can rent motor boats, pedal boats, bikes, and more. There are places where the walkway is built on piers and you actually walk on top of the river instead of alongside it. This is a great way to see Tampa on a nice weather day.

This is just a place to walk or jog but a really nice place to walk. The walk is downtown Tampa and goes around McGill Park, The Theatre, Sheraton Riverwalk Hotel, a museum and other downtown buildings. There is a park for children To play as well as a dog park. On the other side of the river is the very scenic University of Tampa. No restaurants on the walk other than the one at the Sheraton hotel. Not too crowded due to a COVID but still plenty of people walking around enjoying the warm air and cool breeze.

Definitely worth going to because you can walk, eat and drink outdoors plus find shelter when it rains. Excellent place to meet your friends.

I got my 10,000 steps in easily here! Nice relaxing walk, pretty views, plenty of restrooms available nearby for us coffee drinkers.

Lots of restaurants and bars in a beautiful setting. We had drinks and appetizers at M. Bird and watched the sunset. We ate dinner at Ulele and then walked around the riverwalk afterward. Very fun area!!!

The riverwalk is exceptionally well done. Good lighting, great views, and parks and resting spots all along the way. Safe and secure as well, although early morning there are a few homeless that perennially stay there.

The walk was beautiful and we enjoyed many sights that we saw! The only thing that was bad was the lack of parking, but that goes with being downtown.

I was expecting so much more for this walk after reading reviews. Maybe I’m comparing it to walks like San Antonio’s River Walk and it wasn’t even close. It’s just a walk with nothing else to do.

The riverwalk is a long boardwalk along Tampa Waterfront and up the Tampa river. One could buy a drink to go (in their Riverwalk cups) and take it with them for a lovely evening walk. It is definitely worth a stroll.

One of the best walking paths in the U.S.! Great traffic, beautiful views, and plenty of places to stop, grab a drink, take a photo, etc. We try to never miss a morning to get in a good walk and enjoy the Tampa Riverwalk!

this hotel has gone down hill quite a bit in the past year. They've cut back on a lot of things and it impacts the experience. Here are a few things one coffee in the lobby is not refilled on a regular basis. You have to call before 2 PM if you want linen service overall, the place is just not as nice as it used to be.

A very nice and well accommodated walking path with the river nearby. I would like to have seen enforcement of the biking speed limit and skateboarders who also caused me some distress with their whizzing by only inches away. Those are unpleasant and really detract from the overall experience.

I heard so much about the Tampa Riverwalk, though, was a bit disappointing when we arrived as it is very beautiful, though, lots of walking, not for elderly parents... You can take the river taxi, though, everything is really spaced out and you will need the time to board/exit the water taxi. Probably my least favorite part of Tampa, which I thought I would love much more than I did. It is over two miles long with about 15 different stops if you take the water taxi. Not for persons with walkers or wheelchairs which I happen to have in my party visiting the Riverwalk area. It was very beautiful and the architecture structure was really amazing as well along the bridge area. Tampa is a great city to visit and we felt very safe while there.

I enjoyed an early morning walk. Really nice w/ the sun coming up. The trail is very clean and safe. Fun to walk around and see all the construction going on. In the morning, the sun is coming up, and the changes in color on the water are fantastic. Great way to get out and see the city.

Nice lengthy walk from canal area all the way north on the east side of Hillsborough River. Lots of tours and recreational activities, a few drinking and eating options. As you walk north near the art museum, you can walk up steps to Cass street level and cross the street/train tracks to reach the Straz Center and pick up the waterfront trail all the way north to Waterworks park. It’s rarely shaded along the way so can be very hot in direct sun. Be also on the lookout for cyclists and rollerbladers who can zip by quick - just keep your eyes out. And if you aren’t keen on the walk, you can take the Water Taxi instead.

The view at night is so beautiful, safe, and romantic. The ambiance is great at night and in the daytime a very energetic place to be.

An absolutely beautiful walk to take with lots to see and do along the way. A must see when you are in the area. It was a relaxing way to spend time and led us right to the Marina.

The riverfront in Tampa is beautiful. This is a very well-maintained multi-use trail right along the river. Great views of boats and the water. It's fun to watch wildlife too. Last week we saw a cormorant looking for food, catching a fish, and a pelican swooping in and stealing the fish from the cormorant. Incredible to see. Many benches to sit and relax.

A paved walkway that is very wide and accessible to everyone. Many restaurants and lovely views of the river and yachts docked there. Access to the trolley stops abound. Not many restrooms, but a Publix where you can grab a water and snack and use theirs.

Not to crowded. The side bae had excellent service. Nice and friendly staff. A lot of walking unless u rent a scooter.

If you are visiting Tampa you have to utilize the river walk. It is so nice and is right along the river, perfect views and pretty lengthy. Perfect for long walks

I walked along part of this near the convention center and then took the water taxi up to armature works. After dark there were still plenty of people out and about and the area is nice. A free activity to walk around by the water!

Very well done. A great walk up and down the river. Easy walk. Wide walking paths. Bikes. You name it.
Best way to get out and get from place to place. Park the car.

My wife and I have made 3 trips to the Tampa Bay area but never actually made it to downtown Tampa. So we dedicated a day to the Riverwalk.
Our first stop was at the Unlock Tampa Visitor Center where two lovely ladies gave us the perfect tips and info to enjoy our day. The first thing we did was hop on the FREE streetcar and ride it all the way to Ybor City. And then back to Sparkman's Wharf. We had a quick lunch at the shipping container eateries ( very cool), then started our stroll at the beginning of the riverwalk.
The walk is a 2.7 mile stroll along the Hillsboro River. Along the way are bronze busts to honor local leaders, gardens, parks, museums, galleries, a carnival, and lots more. There is also a water taxi, an aquarium, and restaurants.
There were a lot of people enjoying the river stroll. On foot, bike, scooters, and more. It is dog friendly, which we loved.

I enjoy the Riverwalk very much, it's scenic and a funvwalk, my only complaint are the bicycles!! I do NOT think that they should allow bicycles!!! People on Bikes are not always paying attention... It's a River WALK, folks....NOT a River cycle!!

River walk was very pretty and easy to walk around. Had great bars and food choices. We also did a boat tour which was very relaxing with awesome scenery.

Tampa's gift! For all ages--take a walk and see ALL the sights of Hillsborough River along with vendors and more.

Walked down the riverwalk to dinner one evening and it is an excellent walk. Safe, lots to see, great place to people watch.

We very much enjoyed the free trolley along the Riverwalk into YBOR city.
We walked along the River and the tour to St. Petersburg was not in operation that day. We were disappointed. The Riverwalk was clean and enjoyable. We would stay in a hotel along the Riverwalk if in Tampa again.

Took a walk here and it was nice. water, boats, people very nice scenery. def a must see and go to when in Tampa.

Tampa’s Riverwalk is fantastic! It is not only used by tourists but equally popular with locals for walking, jogging and biking. You can walk the whole length of it which connects hotels, restaurants & bars and some popular attractions like the Aquarium and Tampa Bay History Center.
Great waterfront stroll that felt safe even after dark. Very cool concept that makes Tampa’s downtown more vibrant and draws people out to enjoy both land and water activities.

Apparently this town enjoys getting outside and getting their exercise on! Bikers, skaters, runners, walkers, doggies and kids all take advantage of this great asset the city has provided. There is construction going on causing a few detours but it was easy to navigate around. We walked up to Ulele for lunch and took the pirate taxi back to our hotel. We also walked it a bit in the evening to get to the event at Hixon Park.

This riverside walk connects various cultural venues with a series of small parks and the city’s business district.

Everyone was out enjoying the beautiful scenery
Felt very safe even at night It was cold but still worth an evening stroll

Nice place to walk and experience Tampa along the river. There are many focal points along the way such as the Tampa Museum of Art and Curtis Hixon Park. There are also great views of the city skyline and the Plant Museum and Univ. of Tampa campus. An enjoyable way to experience Tampa's riverfront and city.

What a great and safe place to walk. We were so impressed with how many people take advantage of this walk along the river. Beautiful with lots of places to eat along the way.

Fun way to experience Tampa! We went in a Wednesday around 4:00 pm. Not crowded at all, great views of Tampa, and water. There also have a water taxi for $34, that has several stops along the River.

Touring the River Walk in Tampa is a beautiful and affordable and healthy way to see the city. There was “ice skating” in Florida, plenty of food shops, and a pirate ship to see as well. Great family outing!

We were visiting Madeira Beach recently and decided to drive to the Riverwalk to check it out. Being from Florida and researching Riverwalk places to visit, we found this one lacking in personality.
There aren't many places to grab a bite or drink and the waterway itself is boring.
That being said, I can see why people like it if you live in the area. It's great for walking or biking safely.

Great looking public promenade on East side on the Hillsborough River. Great to stroll along. I did see some bikes and skateboards. It lights up at night with various colors. You can see the University of Tampa on the other side of the river. Hopefully it has security at night.

A nice peaceful walk. They had the winter village set up. There were vendors and photo opportunities. We didn’t get to do the ice skating but hopefully next time.

We love to use the pirate taxi and riverwalk between water works and sparkman many attractions all along the way great way to spend the day.

There is really not much to see. This is ok enough for a nice walk with or without a pup, running or riding bikes. We passed a couple of vendors, the Tampa Museum of Art, and dog parks if you do have your pup with you. They have a bathroom in front of the Museum.

While staying downtown I had several beautiful walks along the Riverwalk. It is nice and wide, thankfully. There are many people using the Riverwalk and the width helps give everyone some space, although the bikers need to slow down a bit. There are plenty of places to sit and read or people watch! I did a little of both.

The Riverwalk is a nice place to take a stroll and has a lot to see along the way. There are also restaurants at one point and we did get to see a cruise ship in port. Very clean and wasn't busy when we went. We did try and take a bike and scooter on the walk on the way back but they wouldn't work so we ended up walking back through the city. Very peaceful to stroll and look out at the water and boats going by.

I really enjoyed the beautiful view here. The river side is full of art
The river side is quite for a slow walk
Very good

The Riverwalk is beautiful and great if you just want to stroll along a river. We expected shops along the way, but this is really just a bike and pedestrian path. There is a spray ground and super expensive food plaza at one end, a dog park and one restaurant that you pass along the way. It's just not what we imagined. We thought shops to visit, but not the case. No scooters allowed but bikes are on the riverwalk.

Tampa's River walk has been an ongoing project that we can finally enjoy. Stroll past the convention Center, hotels outdoor park, Art Center and nice restaurants. A good way to seen the heart of Tampa.

We stayed at the Sheraton which was right on the riverwalk and it turned out great! one end was the yachts and more upscale and on the other end it was more laid back like a warehouse district. I loved the couches out in the field, the games, the food and drinks at the various bars were great, the scenery was amazing, etc! I will definitely be back soon!
Pleasant walk with interesting sights
Pleasant walk with interesting sights. Lights pretty at night. Informative displays, sculptures, musical instruments to view.
