This museum is a nice complement to the Dali Museum in Cadaques, Spain.
There are many famous works and the guides do a good job of explaining the life, the history and the symbolism of the art.

Great museum, lots of Dali and other artists' paintings. Coffee shop at the museum has gourmet food and excellent coffee

Exceeded expectations. I had always liked Dali’s work but had no idea how varied and talented he was. This museum really showcases his talent. Definitely recommend a visit. You won’t forget it.

Dali isn't a favorite of mine, but still wanted to this museum. The amount of art on display is rather small (but a premium price is charged) and the special exhibit was more blown up posters of artwork than the actual artwork (which is a deception by the curator). Huge gift shop filled with Dali kitsch.

A nice museum one would not expect to find it here but is worth a visit as is quite nice to see, not very big but still. Only downside is very expensive 29 usd per person. Too much for what they show.

Although I'm a big fan of Dali's work, we were a bit disappointed by our visit:
$10 parking is a ripoff considering it's a $32 ticket for an exhibit that you don't really need much more than 45 minutes to visit. The building and grounds are quite impressive, and his work is spectacular but go on a Thursday when it's half price after 5:00 otherwise $32 is too much for this exhibit, but also unfortunately if you go Thursday there's a chance there will be a cheesy live DJ so while you're browsing through the amazing artwork you hear cheesy 80s music pumping out from the cafe bar area below.

I had seen Dali exhibits before in California and in Spain. Had several artworks and virtual reality .good to do on a rainy day.

The Salvador Dali museum is known world-wide for not just a collection of his art, but for relating his stories and tales. The museum was a pioneer in the integration of the virtual world into art. The ability to tear apart his works layer by layer is fascinating. The problem is that the wifi did not collaborate with my device. Four times, I went to the main desk for help, and she finally disabled the wifi to get it to work. I saw many people with no problems, and a few people experienced my same challenge. The works are a great representation of the artist on the third floor, accessible by elevator or spiral staircase.
I spent lots of time at the experiential virtual reality with headset experience--a 3 minute WOW!
The second floor offers rotating exhibits and a great photography exhibit, that not Dalí's work , reflects the world during his time. I loved the faces and the abstract photos. The dome housing the museum represents the Fibonacci sequence, an important influence on Dalí.
The gift shop is laden with all things imaginable Dalí, something that Dalí himself might have considered extremely creative or too commercial. Rest assured that you can find something Dalí for yourself here.
The Cafè offers great tapas and adult beverages in an intimate bar or outdoors in the garden. the outdoor garden offers accessible tables, sculptures designed by DAlí, and the Dalí 360, a separate admission musical experience.
Accessible entry and venue with bag screen upon admission. Accessible paid parking in large garage. Accessible venue in all areas except cafe bar seating.
We enjoyed half price Thursday 5pm to 8pm. I suggest buying ahead of time esp for the Dalí 360 event.
Accessible mens and womens restrooms.

The museum is amazing. I've always admired Dali's work starting in my college days and I'b been wanting to explore this museum just a few hours from my home in Florida for a number of years.
A friend who lives in the area recommended that I take advantage of the free docent tours because there is much more to the museum and the art than meets the eye. And I'm very glad that I did. There are two docent tours... 1) the museum architecture and 2) Dali's art.
1) The architeture docent tour was given by a gentleman named David. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and thoroughly enjoyed his job and educating us about the museum building, its history, the security and hurricane safety features, the helical staircase, the hexagonal window panes, etc. As a former architecture major in college, it was fascinating to me. David did an outstanding job. Highly recommended.
2) Dali's art tour was given by a lady named Judith. As with David and his tour, Judith was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and thoroughly enjoyed her job and educating us about the art and especially in directing us to focus on features within the artworks that we, most people, would simply not even notice. As my friend said, there is MUCH more to the art than meets the eye. Judith did an outstanding job. Also highly recommended.
And both tours are free, with your admission. Check the front desk for docent tour times.

This was a fantastic experience as I was always a fan of Dali's unusual and decadent art. What an imagination! The Museum honors him in the best ways possible. I loved all the artwork, the sculptures, the gift shop...everything! I also bought the wild looking clocks that he designed! The building is very imaginative looking and his mustache is seen everywhere in various sizes and exhibits. Put this on your To Do list. You won't be sorry.

This museum was excellent, the thing about it that is just a bit expensive. They were very friendly and welcoming

Salvador Dali was a genius. You can see in the complex hidden characters is his large works. Amazing. Not a place for children. Some nudes, few sexual related work. Incredible immersion in this world with. 3 min experience using 3D head displays. Incredible and too short.

We had a weird experience on a Friday afternoon. Beware of the parking, too. It is best to park somewhere else and not pay the ten dollars for the museum lot. The cafe was disorganized.

I was not impressed. The building is the most amazing thing about the exhibit.
Dali is unusual and somewhat twisted as many artist are, so no surprise there.
I thought the size of the exhibition was limited for the cost of the museum and additional fees for parking in the parking lot. For over $75.00 for parking and two tickets, it was too much to pay for what we received.
I live in Norfolk/Va. Beach area and the museums here hold larger exhibits and cost a donation or a minimum fee. Who ever runs this pricing is gouging their customers.

This museum is the largest Salvador Dali Museum in the world, conveniently located along downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront. We were thoroughly impressed. The museum features a uniquely designed glass window that beautifully illuminates the entrance, café area, and staircase to the top-floor gallery, highlighting Dali’s creative world. We started our visit with a 360-degree presentation on Dalí inside a dome, which offered valuable insights into his life and artistic journey for a small fee — definitely a worthwhile addition.
The art exhibition on the third floor left us in awe, especially his surrealistic works, which truly captivated us. We also recommend trying the free 3D virtual reality experience, which lasts 3 minutes and adds an intriguing dimension to your visit. Before leaving, we stopped by the café and bookstore, both of which are worth exploring. We highly recommend this museum because it left a lasting impression on us, and we hope it will do the same for you!

Housed in a beautiful and unusual modern building, this a world-class museum of the work of Salvador Dali, arranged chronologically with extensive explanatory material you can read or access on your phone with the app.

Can't say enough about how nice this museum is. Start with the short films which give a great intro into the life and style of Dali. The staircase and the garden is even a work of art. The collection of Dali work is impressive. The guides are so informative and helpful and enhance the experience in a succinct way. My husband is not a huge art lover. But he left there saying that now Dali is his favorite artist!

The museum and its staff were polite and helpful. The photographic displays are interesting but we spent too much time there so l we’re tired when we arrived at Dali’s paintings.
For me, the food service menu was terrible. I am vegan for 27 years and travel extensively. So when the food counter person offered only pita and hummus, I was disappointed.
So I walked to a Mediterranean restaurant .7 miles away and walked back while my friend stayed there to eat alone.
I visit museums in many countries and they accommodate me by withholding items such as cheese or meat. Today the staff said every dish comes with cheese. They were unable to remove cheese from the garbanzos or the salad wraps, for example.
This is an important medical situation for me so I do not understand the inability to remove an item.
This made my museum experience exasperating and disappointing.
I am writing this to alert other vegans and to request the kitchen to reconsider being able to accommodate by providing a nutritious vegan option on your menu.

We took the museum tour. I’m so glad we did. It added so much to our visit and appreciation of the art. The tour was free with your admission and left from the upstairs at different intervals. I highly recommend.

We really expected more than a white, overlit sterile environment. The collections are spectacular, but the environment is unimaginative. Parking is $10, card only. But they are happy to accept cash in the huge donation box by the front door. Be prepared to have your bag searched (not really a big deal as the gentleman was pleasant and you never know when someone might have bad intentions) Admission is pricey. We never realized how incredibly small some of Dali’s paintings are. They are almost more impressive than the huge ones. There is a lot of security - maybe that is why the ticket price is so high. There is a cafe that we did not try and an enormous store. There are several extra experiences, all at a price. We left, not necessarily in awe of the art, but of the huge cash grab this place seems to be. We look forward to visiting the museums in Spain which look like they will have a more suitable environment.
PS - there are actually signs warning patrons of nudity. Really? Nudity in a museum? I’ve been going to museums with nudity since I was 5 years old and survived.

Not a fun of Dali, I decided to visit his famous museum in St. Pete because you never know what you miss if you don't go.
I am glad I went.
Not only the building inside is as impressive as outside. The works of young Dali - before he was expelled from the Art school he attended (because of a scandal which he deliberately ignited) - show what a great artist he might be. Great colorist, first of all. His early works were not traditional, but still had to find his own style. He went a totally different path, and - in my opinion - failed.
But seeing his early works and the interior of a great building was worth a record price we ever paid for visiting an Art museum.

This place was phenomenal. I love museums. This one is up there within the top 3 of my favorites. The architecture alone of the building is fascinating and fun to experience.

A FANTASTIC museum. Some great work here. The key to seeing Dali’s paintings is to see the work within the work. For instance, look for Abraham Lincoln. If you enjoy art, we haughty recommend this museum.

It’s easy to forget how influential and talented Salvador Dali was. This gallery does a great job of showcasing his work but also how his style evolved. I was surprised the gift store didn’t sell chuppa chups though 😉
The photography exhibition was interesting but a bit of a tone change. We didn’t attend the instalment experience

A really remarkable experience. Not a large museum but what impactful art. Did self-guided tour and was a good two hours. Left inspired and awed. Staff was nice. Cafe is worth a stop.

The most excellent museum in Florida! Very interesting paintings by Dali himself. The building is new and parking is plentiful. This museum is close to the water so it’s nice to take a walk out to the pier once you’re finished.

Not a great fan of the man , but the paintings , if you can ignore the oddities are amazing in there construction. It is amazing how his mind actually put the how details together to come up with overall finished product. Some where literally mind blowing in how much detail was included to get the effect. The tour guides were interesting to listen to although the interpretations were restricted to a script. Their words. It is worth a visit though, even if it is on the more costly side, and I never thought I would say that !

The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, features the largest collection of the renowned surrealist artist's works outside of Spain and is the No. 1 attraction in the city. Located at One Dali Boulevard, on the downtown waterfront, by 5th Avenue Southeast, Bay Shore Drive and Dan Wheldon Way, the $30 million art museum was designed by Yann Weymouth and features a large glass entryway and skylight made of 1.5-inch thick glass. Referred to as the "Enigma," the glass entryway is 75 feet tall and encompasses a spiral staircase. The remaining walls are composed of 18-inch thick concrete, designed to protect the collection from hurricanes which strike the region from time to time. Originally, from 1982 to 2010, the Dali Museum was located in a marine warehouse not far from the current site. The new building, located next to the Mahaffey Theater, on the former site of the Bayfront Center, which was demolished in 2004, was opened on January 11, 2011. The museum's collection includes 96 oil paintings, over 100 watercolors and drawings, 1,300 graphics, photographs, sculptures and objects d'art, plus an extensive archival library. The museum is home to more masterpieces of Dali than any other museum in the world, including the large-scale paintings "The Hallucinogenic Toreador" and "The Discovery of America by Christopher Columbus" and "The Ecumenical Council, Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of the New Man" and "The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory." Surrealistic in every way.

Visiting the Dali Museum was a great experience because my family and I could admire the art of the this Spanish genius. I recommend to take the tour guide and buy a souvenir in the gift shop.

Not worth the high price ticket. Don’t recommend. Recommend to skip it. Recommend to skip it. Small selection of art - very small.

The Picasso exhibit included most interesting works and information on the artist's work in beach towns.
But PLEASE Dali, print the labels in black on white card! Small white lettering on mauve cards are very hard to see, especially in dim light and under glass with glare!

The Dali Museum has a wonderful collection of Salvador Dali's works through most of his life. Some of his huge paintings are on exhibit and the building itself is wonderful architecture. The spiral staircase is simple amazing to look up and also look going down. The museum is on a lovely marina and it also has a little cafe for something light. Nice gift shop also if you're interested.

Can't say enough how good this place is! My family and I were pleasantly surprised and deeply impressed by the short film. It explained surrealism, Dali's roles as an artist and writer during WWI and WWII, and his transformation when he emigrated to the US.
You'll be thoroughly delighted by the collection, as well as the fascinating AR-enhanced portraits.

smaller than would seem justified for an artist of Dali's importance. guess one will have to leave the country to see a broader display of his works

As a member of The Dali, I go often. New this time was a lobster telephone powered by AI wherein a guest asks Dali any questions and he responds with his voice and the answer projected on a screen. Great fun. The exhibit of vintage photos+ tops on how to use cell phones to reproduce similar photos was amazing. We had delicious appetizers + cocktails @The Gala Cafe. We purchased jewelry, books, postcards, a Dali Clock and wristwatch. We strolled the outdoor maze in the garden. We will return for The Pink Floyd laser show soon. Kudos to the docents who are so knowledgeable about Dali and his art.

This museum is a great place to visit if you’re in the Tampa Bay region. It has so many pieces of Dali’s work. We’ve been a couple times and recommend it.

Beautiful location and property. The museum is unique and displays many of Dali's works. It also included works by other artists as well as a unique gift shop and a small diner. We went on a Thursday evening after 5 when admission was half price. Parking was $5 which was disappointing. The parking lot line backed out well onto the road because the lot only accepted credit cards slowing the entry process down.

You won’t be able to change the time or get a refund but if you give the tickets to someone else they won’t be able to use them unless they bring id for discount tickets. The experience hasn’t changed much and was a total waste of time and money. Money spent on parking was better since I was able to ride those scooters around.

This museum truly makes Dalí’s genius feel alive. The exhibits are immersive and engaging, with just the right mix of creativity and chaos. You don’t have to be a die-hard art fan to enjoy it—every room pulls you in and keeps you curious. A unique, unforgettable experience. Five stars.

Was a wonderful art gallery and Dali’s surrealist visionary creations are amazing. Highly recommend if visiting St Pete, even if you aren’t into art.

Dali paintings brought to life, the staff was informed and very friendly. The gift shop did not lack a single must have item.

Have visited several times. Always enjoyable. My only suggestion is to bring back the headsets with the audio descriptions of the art pieces. I realize it's available on the app to use on a smart phone. However....not everyone has a phone, seniors come to mind first.

The museum was excellent - both the Dali exhibits and Picasso. Everyone should visit at least once. The Gala cafe was very good, and the staff superb. We had the fresh cheese, gazpacho, serranita, and iced tea.

Simply excellent. If you have time, you must come here. The art is beautiful and they have free docent tours frequently throughout the day that explains some of the small, easily missed details of the paintings. I'm an art noob but this place has shown me some really cool paintings that I really enjoy. They also have this AMAZING DALL E AI installation where you describe your dream, AI turns it into art and then yours and 7 other people's dreams are merged together into one surrealist image.

This museum has stunning views. Though smaller than I expected, it houses key art works of Dali and a few other impressionists. Excellent guides and the small restaurant is great for coffee and snacks. The volunteer guide took us to the garden area and did a great job. Overall, a wonderful experience!

If you have a passing interest in art, you may enjoy seeing Dali's paintings but not really appreciate what is displayed by the bay in St. Petersburg. If you have spent hours at the Frick, Guggenheim. MOMA and the Met, you will be astounded that so many pieces of original art created by the hand of a famed and rather eccentric artist may be found at a single location in coastal Florida rather than New York, DC, Boston or Chicago. The Dali Museum is a beautiful facility and well worth the visit.

More explanations to understand the meaning of some paintings
Nice,but would not go again.
The 3d experience was a plus.
Garden is amazing.

If you love Salvador Dali this is the museum to go to. Not only is the building unique and beautiful but the quantity of Dali paintings is amazing. You can climb the winding staircase, take the elevator to the exhibit on the third floor, or have a snack on the first level. You can use your phone to get descriptions of the numerous paintings. There is a small outside area that leads to the Dali Immersion that was closed when we went. Their expanded gift store is everything Dali.

Nice place, a bit expensive to get to, but worth a visit if you're in the area.
It is very fun to watch his works, a lot happens in them.

Rudest museum I've ever been to. The architecture, the art, the in-depth explanations of the artworks. The restaurant very good. The outdoor area is fantastic. What an experience!

He would not let us in while we are members and never had a problem entering the museum before. That person had no respect and really is a horrible presentation for the establishment. We are not renewing our NAR memberships.

I have never had a more enlightening experience in a museum than the DALI. They start you off with a 10 minute introduction video that actually forms the basis for your experience. Just so very organized. Having a smart phone is a great plus so you can hear explanations for each work. Just loved it.

I studied art and have never seen so many varied works of Dalí. These include his most precious and famous works, as well as large scale religious themed paintings. I never knew he painted such a style. The building itself is cool. There is a 2nd exhibition of another artist, cafe with tapas, and garden. Could take an hour or 2 for the full experience.

Really nice museum showcasing the works of Dali. In addition to the display, there are various free guided tours where they explain some of the paintings. They also have some kind of IMAX-like surround theater that has some films you can do for an additional cost. We did that before going thru the museum and it was a nice intro to his work. They also have a decent Spanish-themed restaurant on site. ANd of course,a nice gift shop. If you like his works, you'll love this place.

World class museum - great chance to see how Dali's painting evolved, which I didn't know. Very informative film on the background to surrealism too. I drove 25 minutes from Tampa - definitely worth it.
It's amazing that there is nothing nearby - the city has not leveraged this building at all . There must be 1000s of visitors every day - other than the museum there is nothing except a run down parking lot by the water and a soccer stadium. St Pete is an odd town - no soul that I could detect around the museum area, quite desolate. Its a stunning location on the water - surely the city could be more creative.....

The collection was fairly large. The intro movie was really interesting. They had a nice traveling collection. Definitely overpriced, but good for a one-time visit.

Didn’t realize how much there is to know about surrealism. Very interesting! Beautiful location and building as well.

WOW,! Signed up for everything offered & it was more than worth it. Gift shop has an extensive choice of products, well presented for viewing & purchase. The dome experience is a unique experience. The restaurant food was very good. The grounds & view enjoyable. The art! I am incapable of describing the beauty that is presented in this musuem. Go see for yourself. Also make sure to take the Virtual experience. A truly wonderful time.

I went to the new Picasso show, and it was extensive and informative. The space makes it easy for many people to stay separate. The exhibits allowed one to focus.
The interactive cubist selfie was a nice touch.
The Picasso paintings were subtle, but the textures and colors were great to observe in real life.

Background: We were in Saint Petersburg for a wedding at the Vinoy Hotel. As the Dali Museum was an easy, paved walk from the hotel, we opted to visit. Note: The Museum uses a timed entrance so be aware if you didn't make an advance purchase, you may need to grab a bite or a drink elsewhere while waiting for your timeslot.
Having been to Barcelona, Spain and taken the train to visit the Dali Museum in Figueres, Spain, the Saint Petersburg is smaller and more compact. However, it's worth it if you want to get a taste of Dali. If you need to wait for your entrance time, the Hangar Restaurant & Flight Lounge is an easy 1/4 mile away.

This was an excellent museum. Beautiful inside and of course the paintings were amazing. What made it particularly great were the free museum tours, the virtual reality headsets to submerge yourself into a painting and the Dream Escape room where AI would paint a picture representation of one of your dreams. Spent 2 hours here.

In the middle of St. Petersburg you will find the Dali Museum. Many of his paintings, small, large and two story large are exhibited in a concrete, hurricane resistant, futuristic three story building. If you are an art enthusiast you will not walk away disappointed!

I was not a Dali follower and wanted to see what it was. Disappointing is putting it mildly. $10 to park, $25 to go in and see pictures he has done. You can see those on line or if you are a follower, you have seen them. Too high a price! The movie before explaining it all made sense but not for $35 price. Maybe a great Dali follower would say something different about the place and price but I found no value in it.

What an amazing time visiting a museum of spectacles from around the world. While here completing a school project, the staff greeted warmly and helped me understand everything I was looking at. Staff member Emily was amazing and definitely deserves a special shoutout!

Very nice museum featuring an astounding artist. They have a new dome that presents a multimedia show that's worth the extra $15.

We only knew about Dali’s surreal paintings, and didn’t find them appealing. But we wanted to see this large collection….and found we love most of his works! The floral fantasies were stunning. The early works were more renaissance and impressionistic. The “masters” were amazing. This is a museum to see!

Beautiful museum and setting. View of water and marina is perfect.
Pay for parking and don't count on the trolley transportation as it is very unreliable.
Art is rather strange if you didn't know Dali.
Little cafe is nice for treats and drinks.
Surprises like the virtual experience and photo with Dali were fun.

First off, I'm not a Dali fan. And the museum was expensive! But, having said that, I learned a great deal about the artist, and grew to understand him a bit more because of the visit. Joined a docent tour spontaneously. (That guy was great!) and tried to access the online guided tour, but something funky was happening with that. I usually bemoan the pathetic choice of postcards in most museums, but this time around ... the postcards were amazing! I stocked up! If you're in the area, and you want something a bit different, check it out.

My young adult son is a Dali fan, so when we made a quick trip to FL, we had to fit this in. We visited during the Grand Prix race, so we had to park in a designated parking lot and be shuttled to the museum, but we didn't have to wait but a minute going either way. They have a nice gift shop as well as other artwork to view. I recommend the short video beforehand whether you are familiar with Salvador Dali or not. There is a nice small courtyard area in the back where you will exit to find the Dali Alive 360 presentation. If you have never been to an immersive art experience, then I recommend the Dali Alive 360.

We we pleasantly surprised by the fun interactive activities. Dali compared to the impressionists' he was inspired by was fascinating study. Great gift shop

This museum is a great experience and about a phantastic artist.
But to get into the museum is a nightmare - especially for foreigners who have no direct access to the web. It's not possible to just get in and pay your entrance fee in cash or by credit card as in every normal museum. You can pay this entrance fee only by downloading an app first. Then you have to fill out a form electronically and pay via the app. This procedure takes quite some time. At the same time there are two ladies standing there at the desk having nothing to do. At least they were so friendly to help us foreigners how to fill out the form on the app.

We were so excited to bring our out-of-town friends to the Dali Museum. We had been there once before and knew they would enjoy it. One of our friends has a medical condition that requires a port, so water activities aren’t an option, and in Florida, that limits a lot of the fun. She also has to carry a very heavy backpack full of medical supplies, which is clearly marked as a medical bag.
When we checked in, the staff inspected the bag, tagged it, and allowed her to bring it in—no problem. But shortly after we entered, a security guard told her she couldn’t wear the backpack on her back and had to wear it in the front. This was not an option, as her port and medical tubing are located on her chest, and wearing the bag in front would have been both painful and unsafe. She tried to accommodate the request by carrying it by the handles at her side, but the bag is simply too heavy to carry that way for long.
Seeing her struggle, the guard kindly allowed her to wear it on her back again. Unfortunately, later on, another, much more aggressive guard approached us and told her—very bluntly and without empathy—that she was not allowed to wear it on her back. When I tried to explain that she had already been given permission, he rudely cut me off and said it didn’t matter.
At that point, I carried the bag for a while, and then one of our other friends took over. But what if she had been visiting alone? She would’ve had no choice but to leave.
Shame on the Dali Museum for treating someone with a visible medical condition this way. It felt discriminatory and deeply insensitive. Within just a few years, our friend has gone from being completely independent to having to adjust her life around her health. A museum should be a place of inclusion, not another reminder of what she can't do. She hates asking for help, and though, of course, we were happy to assist, the situation left her feeling like a burden and took the joy out of what should’ve been a special experience.
The Dali Museum needs to do better. Either make your policies clear before people pay and enter, or have a more compassionate and flexible system for evaluating medical needs. Better yet, have someone available who can assist disabled guests in a respectful, dignified way.

I wasn’t sure what to expect because my knowledge of Dalí works was limited. We lucked out and got there just as a docent lead tour was starting. The docent was able to tell us about the different styles during different periods of his life as well as point out reoccurring aspects and the probably meanings of them. Our Docent was opening not only to questions but seemed to appreciate our thoughts on different paintings. The tour only stops at a few paintings but as we wandered through the museum we we able to watch and see more within the paintings than we might have. We each had a few favorites and is often true of art, not the same ones. Across from the Gallery is murals painted by a variety of artists that used Dalí as inspiration for their works and the paintings are varied uses of Dalí imagery. I enjoyed this more than I expected and be sure to see the outside as well.

Really "stingy" that they offer no refunds under any conditions. My wife accidentally thought she was buying for the Dali museum while we were in Spain (very tired and our mistake); contacted them immediately with two days before our reservations still and NO EXCEPTIONS. Yes, our mistake; but it's still a lousy policy.

Going to Dali Museum is a marvelous experience. I have been 5you feel good-6 times and always want to go back. Culturally is an enrichening experience; emotionally is very uplifting -it makes you feel good to see such creativity, imagination.
If you go to St. Petersburg or Tampa, don't miss it.

We went on the half price Thursday evening time. It was more crowded than usual, but worth every penny. Also enjoyed having appetizers and cocktails on the patio/garden area behind the museum. Be sure and sign up for the AR experience which is in a separate room and only takes three people at a time.

Always wanted to come visit this museum. I live in a different state and currently visiting family, I made sure that I added this to my list of things to do while I was in st Pete and I’m very pleased of the turn out. Love the art and the history of it all.

Great exhibit! Watched the 360° exhibit as well and really enjoyed it.
Also got to see some Cezanne, Dega and Monet along with other artists work.

Nice collection and museum. Don’t miss the outdoors. Great Picasso exhibit also. Cafe and gift shop are nice too.

Beautiful building housing an impressive collection of Dali’s work. Inside and outside displays are very well done.

Great selection of art, lovely selection of statues, the immersive experience is good but not fantastic, mixture of tacky and nice in the shop , I did expect better all in all a decent day out if your into Dali and in Florida, about 2 and bit hours from Orlando, and pretty easy to find in St Petts,
Don’t bother with the Pink Floyd experience especially if your a big fan, sound was awful you could not make out any of the lyrics a total mumble, hugely disappointing

A great collection of his works. Be sure to see the short movie it will add to your experience. They offer tours, you can also download the museum’s App. Take your time and be prepared to be amazed by Dalis genius.

Wonderful art museum. A must experience!!! Wonderful story with the art and I highly recommend doing the 360, wish we did. Get the headphones. My husband and I aren’t artsy people but this was so amazing. We enjoyed the special effects…. Make sure to download the app.

Amazing time seeing the museum! The free tour by the docent - John Stewart* - really brought a lot of depth to the visit!

If you're a Dai fan then this is a must visit when in the Tampa area. Located in St. Pete, it's a very impressive building, set back from the street that includes artwork outside and just really stands out as something special and quirky before you ever enter the building.
We went right at opening, and it gradually filled up while we were there for about 2 hours. I suggest going early and purchasing a ticket online, although we did purchase in person. The Dali Live event was taking place in a separate staged area outside in the garden so we purchased tickets to the main museum and the Dali experience. The museum has a lot of exhibits, including street art tributes to Dali which I found really cool and interesting. My favorite exhibit actually was something I hadn't seen much of in other exhibits about Dali - all the advertising artwork he created later in life. I wish the gift shop had a book or prints about this era of Dali, but they did not and it seems hard to find for purchase anywhere. This area also included an interactive 'create your street art selfie' area where you can go in and take a photo and it will transform it into street art which you can download and even buy as a print in the gift shop. We did this and downloaded the prints and got them printed out at home. There's also a fun lobster phone interactive display that I won't spoil but you should definitely do!
The Dali live experience was definitely the highlight. You sit in a theater and there are pictures and just a nice tale about Dali, his life, his fame, his work and it's on the floor, ceiling, all the walls around you. I love immersive experiences like this one because you feel lost in the art and like Dali is right there with you.
Finally, the gift shop was very big. They have tons of items. I bought a melting clock wooden necklace which is beautiful. There's also a booth to take a selfie with Dali and get the downloadable image on your phone. Prices were a bit high on some items. I really liked the scarves but they were just out of my budget. There are plenty of books, postcards and prints to buy, along with a huge array of cool jewelry. We wandered around the gift shop for at least 30 minutes. There's also a cafe in the area and plenty of restrooms throughout the building.
Very enjoyable experience that I wholly recommend for fans and even those who don't know much about Dali but are curious about his art!

Well organized and presented collection of Salvador Dali’s works encompassing early art, large format, jewelry, and sculpture. I learned how Dali used groundbreaking technique to create art within art, challenging the viewer to see objects revealed deep within his paintings. Well worth visiting.

Really lovely museum small with an amazing exhibit and I love that it was interactive. Had a late lunch at the Museum restaurant. Really nice wine list. I am loving St Pete.

The museum is definitely worth the visit. What a creative genius! The other thing that I must point out is that there is an exceptional cafe in the museum named after Dali’s wife. Both the art and the food is a treat.

Want to challenge your taste in art? Check out the Dali museum. Very eclectic mix of art at this museum. The museum is a very modern, easy flowing building that pristinely displays the art collection.

We travelled via St. Petersburg on our way to Orlando from Miami specifically to visit this gallery. It was definitely worth it. A huge amount of Dali’s works are on display, including pieces he painted as a teenager.
We were very pleased to have visited at a time when the special exhibition was of Dali’s preparatory work and sketches, and loved spotting the finished pieces in the main gallery that followed.
The building is also impressive to see.
Parking is $10.

The Dali museum is must-see St. Pete...make sure you get the Dali app and bring ear buds to check out the augmented reality of several of his paintings...

It was smaller than I expected but it had really good pieces of art from Dali. If you are not into surrealism then you might not like it, but if you appreciate what the movement meant and you enjoy Dali then you will like the place.

If you like Dali you will enjoy this museum. Great building, spacious, lots of beautiful art. Took the 30 min tour and well worth it. Explore the outside garden too. Wonderful location, right on the water.

I am not an art connoisseur and I don't know anything about art, but the Dali Museum is worth the entrance fee. Dali alive is also worth it. I was impressed.

Fabulous museum and building. Great general tour. Enjoyed the entire experience. Go every year when in Florida.

We're not Artsy people but Dali's work has always intrigued me. I am old enough to remember him.and couldn't pass up a chance to see this museum. From his early work to his last works there are a lot of interesting paintings here and they are all shown to good effect. I really enjoyed the Christopher Columbus piece and the Helix interpretation. There's a lot to look at plus a sculpture garden out back and the Rolls in the gift shop. The Picasso exhibit was also amazing and it was fun to transform your face into a cubist "masterpiece".

I'm a huge fan of Salvador Dali and have been wanting to visit for years and I was not disappointed. This museum was designed especially to house this amazing collection and it was a wonderful experience. We did two short tours - one of the garden and one of the main collection, and I'd highly recommend both. Then just take your time and look at the art. I also love the interactive features, including the Dali selfie station. Also one of the more impressive gift shops in a museum I've seen.

Been the the Dali 3 times and would go again! So much talent. Great exhibition. Plus there are always guest exhibitions. The garden area is beautiful. Food at the snack shop is pretty good too!

The museum is informative and fun the 3d movie and lobster phone Ai were the highlights of the trip. His life story is fun and so inspiring

A very beautiful museum with collections highlighted with explanations. The application allows you to follow in French.
Works little known to the general public and an area on impressionism. Some fun activities but unfortunately the augmented reality did not work.
Museum quite expensive but generally the prices in Florida ($30) with card payment only. Additional options exist for an IMAX film. Friendly staff explaining the different schedules of the guides.
We had the hotel parking nearby. Free locker, backpack prohibited.

Would you like to view what the inside of an insane person’s mind looks like? If yes, then you’ve come to the right place! Of course, we ought not to use the term “insane” - that’s too harsh. Everyone prefers the term “eccentric”. This collection of “art” is displayed in an “avant-garde” museum under heavy security, with, of course, the concomitant “intelligentsia” clientele. I was intrigued. Once I got inside there, I lapsed into deep contemplation over melting clocks, ants crawling out of flesh, and various hellscapes. The entrance fee is high - you’re going to pay through the nose for the privilege of seeing this stuff. This place reminds me of my visit to MOMA a few years ago where I viewed a painting that was completely blank and touted as a “masterpiece”. The content here is disturbing and I would not suggest bringing small children. One thing that is a positive benefit of this, is that they often have large exhibits of other artists’ works displayed here - thus I give this another star to two stars.

Have been there more than once, both as a solo & with a friend. Both times were specifically for the special exhibits that were also there. My only issue with the museum is that the permanent collection stays static. If you are not a huge Dali fan, seeing the same thing each time gets boring. I like his works, just not enough to want to stare at & study them in depth while my companion is oooing & aaahhhing.

I was not sure what to expect. Art is not my "thing", but other family members wanted to go....
Once we actually found the museum (the Grand Prix race was being set-up and the roads and parking were very hard to navigate), I was pleasantly surprised at all they had to offer. It was a Saturday, so it may have been more crowded than normal, but that was the only issue I had.
After learning more about Dali and seeing his work, I began to relate more.
For Art not being my "thing", I really enjoyed it and the other family members were ready to go before I was :)

I am not an art connoisseur but the visit to the Dali Museum and Dali 360 alive was worthwhile. The Dali Museum is definitely worth a visit.

I loved the ten minute movie at the beginning. It really helped me get a sense of who Dali was and why he did what he did. Walking through the exhibit was interesting. It showed the chronology of his work, from early conventional painting to his more surreal works. The view of the marina and bay is stunning. I was
Also impressed with the gift shop, even though the items were quite pricey.
I must say, I was disappointed that my wristband DID NOT OFFER ACCESS to the Dali 360 experience. It was another $15. We walked away. Overall, a good experience.

Enjoyed the special Picasso in the South of France exhibit at the Dali along with their regular exhibits
Grounds are lovely too with sculptures in a lovely waterfront setting

Great way to get to know Salvador Dali’s work. We started by listening to a brief tour by one of the volunteers- included in the entrance fee. That provided an excellent foundation to view the rest of the art. Even the “non-art fans” enjoyed the experience. I suggest downloading the app to view the VR works- the VR experience uses your phone’s camera to bring certain aspects of a painting to life, or highlights some of the paintings hidden gems. I left with a much greater appreciation for Dalí as a person and an artist.

The museum was very interesting and we are glad we made the trip. We signed up for the English speaking tour but our tour guide was not proficient in English. She was very hard to understand and kept repeating her self. She gave information on the bus ride to the museum but our group of 7 couldn't understand anything. It was the same thing at the museum, so we tried to split off and she became upset and wouldn't give us the meeting time/place until she was done. She wasn't very organized. I wish we would of have more time in Cadaques. We got there and went to a restaurant, which took the 1 hour we had. We were going to eat on our own but she told us we wouldn't have enough time or be able to get in anywhere, that wasn't true. The restaurant we ate at was good but there were others. The trip somehow needs to be rearranged.

As a career museum professional, I’m a bit of a tough audience. I was blown away by every aspect of our experience at the Dali Museum. Who knew that St. Petersburg had such a gem?
The collections are terrific. But it’s everything surrounding the collection that is top notch. The Volunteers leading various tours (I’m shouting out to you, Steve!!) are incredibly informed, passionate, fun and interesting. We did garden, architecture and collections tours. Dali’s work is so complicated and filled with symbolism that the docents really enriched the experience. The use of the Dali Museum app for the audio tour and an AR experience was so well done.
The gift shop is also extensive, reasonably priced and stocked with interesting products.
Two thumbs up from a visitor that know, loves and has visited museums all over the world. The Dali Museum is world class.

Amazing museum, definitely need to see it while in St. Pete! The permanent collection of Dali's work is immaculate with some readily recognizable pieces, and others that you really have to look closely at to see all of the amazing detail placed into his work. The building itself is gorgeous, and outside there are Dali references sprinkled around, even as you're walking up the front steps. The rotating exhibit on the third floor was cool to see, and they had another Dali piece stashed away in there! You also absolutely have to walk through the garden outside, lots of fun photo opportunities! Lastly, don't forget to attach your wristband to the wish tree! You can do it yourself, or you can leave it in a box up front for museum staff to put on the tree for you (but it's more fun and personal to do it yourself).

A magnificent Dali collection. It's not a simple visit, it's an immersion in his work and impressionism. Out of Europe!
The experience is completed with the beautiful architecture of the space. Unmissable. 😊😊

Be sure to join a docent for some guided commentary, if there is one available. We went to see the new museum, as I had visited the previous Dali museum and was anxious to see what was new. It was amazing and the architecture is beautiful! The large paintings are so interesting and unique and we were so happy to find a volunteer willing to guide us through "seeing" the paintings.

Wish we would have known our online tickets didn't actually mean the only hour we could enter. We sat in our car for an hour waiting till our time to enter which only meant the 360 movie show time. Who knew! Once inside the building is beautiful in itself. The art and getting so up close and personal was such a nice experience. Getting to see the brush strokes was amazing and learning more about Dali life was really nice. We love Dali have a few of his paintings hanging in our house.

Wow do I ever love this place! Saw amazing Dalí-only gallery, & saw Dalí among the Impressionists. Beautiful original pieces, presented in several user-friendly ways. I enjoyed the 360 experience, but my friend didn't. Also couldn't get the selfie with Dalí to come out right. But the entire place was amazing & I highly recommend it if you want to see some amazing paintings & sculptures. Pro tip: Download the app for some neat interactive bonuses. I can't wait to go back!

The Dali Museum not only had many outstanding Dali artworks, but its fanciful spiral building, its sculpture garden, and its chockfull gift store were all outstanding, too. A must-see in St. Pete's.

Loved this small yet packed museum. If you know anything about Dali his works of art are pictures within pictures. His museum carries the same premise.
This museum has some of Dali’s works of art connected to am app that had an alter reality that brought the art piece to life. It was spell-bounding and fascinating at the works and depths of his creations.
There was also a VR room that takes you virtually into one of his art pieces also mesmerizing. Your tour can be guided via an app or real along as you wish.
The other special exhibit was Picasso, we scored big time.
Took about 2 hours

DO NOT GO HERE ON A WEEKEND!! The website encourages you to "download the Dali app" before your visit to learn more about certain works. The place was super crowed and does not have enough band width for everyone. Unless you can access the tour on the app or you are a Dali expert, would not recommend. Was extremely disappointed!! I spent a lot of money and time for nothing. Also, $10 to park.

The Museum was very nice-worth the admission price. The Pink Floyd exhibit was disappointing- not worth the price. Another worth while museum in St Pete is the American crafts museum.

Insightful. Worth a visit however I'm concerned that the entire venue is cashless. Apparently cash is not a valid option. I find this disturbing and object to being unable to use legal tender.

The museum is laid out nicely with such a cool central area with spiral reaching toward the glass ceiling. There's all kind of surrealism art beyond Dali since the Dali collection is not that big. The VR Dali world was very cool.

Dali, the artist with the melted watches, 10 minutes away from where we were staying. If you have interest in his style, how he got there or of the influences, this is worth your time.

I liked the attraction, but it wasn't surprising. The venue houses 7 original works by Salvador Dalí and the exhibition is quite cool. The architecture of the venue, with a 75-foot glass dome that creates an amazing atmosphere. If you are a Dalí fan, it's worth a visit. $44

Really nice museum in a beautiful setting right on the water in St. Pete. We highly recommend buying the separate Dali 360 experience which is a animated movie of his artworks and life. This museum has some, but not all, of his masterworks. If you like Dali you won't be disappointed. The cafe has great coffee.

Excellent exhibit of Salvador Dali. A must see. Parking was a bit difficult due to getting ready for a big car race, otherwise to find a parking spot isn’t to bad.

I totally get why this is a “must see” in St. Pete’s. I learned so much about Dalí and gained a new appreciation for his art. It’s a beautiful building in a beautiful area. I think the ticket price is a little expensive and they do not allow water bottles unfortunately, but those were the only negatives. I also just did street parking for like $5 and walked a bit.

Parking was $10, (all day parking), however parking is limited. There was a graduation at the theater next door and a boat show, we got lucky and got one of the last spots. They were asking folks to park just two blocks away.
There are docent tours every hour 12:30, 130… check before you go and do go, fascinating! So knowledgeable and polite.
There is a Dalí Cafe, delicious (limited indoor seating but worth the wait). I don’t normally enjoy museum cafes but this one had very tasty food (we had the cheese plate, bread plate and carrot hummus, plus coffee and tea.
The is a decent selection of Dali photos, paintings and information and you can go online to learn more. I would go back again since our friend is not much of a reader and is more of a quick browser. I would like to spend a bit more time and perhaps go on another docent tour.
Go, enjoy and try the cafe, too!

My wife and I have been here a few times and loved it. However, this last time we bought tickets for two shows happening that day. What we were not told upon entering the museum (despite showing our ticket receipts) was that a little round sticker is required to enter the show later that day. We were not given the stickers. We stood in line at show time excited to see the show but two young people at the entrance refused to let us in. We explained that we had paid for the tickets far in advance but they didn’t want to hear it. My wife and I are in our sixties - we are not teenagers trying to sneak into a show! Anyway, after being treated like garbage by these two people we finally resolved the matter but missed part of the show and then had to sit on the floor. These two employees were completely disrespectful and rude. I wish I could remember their names so I could point them out.

As a Dali Lover for me was a dream come true to visit this museum after visiting all the rest of Dali museums. I would put it as 5 as I was interested in the work and felt inspired, if I wasn't disappointed by the shop experience
More detailed
1. It is quite small museum, the walk tour was interesting but very short.
2. Few interactive activities to spent time on , interesting for kids and grown ups.
3. I was disappointed by the shop - few of the items were quite pricey and I believe that you can find them also online.
4. Cashier of the shop was very slow and rude. There was only one line while we were 4 people waiting, the second cashier joined and asked us to move there. I moved with another lady, and I was second on the line. while I was moving there was another lady that stood behind some red ribbons for the queue ( which I havent noticed) when my turn came the cashier told me that the other lady was before me, I told her that I moved from the other line as she asked. Since she was extremely slow I decided to move back to the other cashier. While I was leaving I heard her laughing and commenting with the lady that took my place. I found this offensive.
For the average person it is a small nice museum that you can get information for Dali,

Though Dali's style of art isn't our favorite genre, we enjoyed our visit to the Dali Museum. We decided to pay the $10 to park in their lot and timed it perfectly to get a guided tour. The video on the first floor is worth the time watching, too.

A smaller museum (which can be either a plus or a minus) The Dali Museum's integration of Impressionist works was very well done. I've visited Dali museums in Europe and this gallery is as good as any of them, albeit not as large.
It's a great visit when in St. Petersburg!

The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, FL is an awesome immersion into the artist Salvador Dali. It holds an impressive collection of his works in an atmosphere of reverence and appreciation. The building itself is a work of art and perfect to house Dali’s work. It offers easy parking, easy access, clean restrooms, a coffee shop and a beautiful gift shop. The staff are cheerful and helpful. The free audio tour is informative, easily obtained on a cell phone and sounds clear and personal on earbuds. The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, FL is definitely one of my favorite museums and I hope to return again in the future. I highly recommend visiting at least once.

Our family just loved this museum. The art is amazing and the staff was very knowledgeable. To top it off, the cafe was delicious. A must see in Tampa area.

The Dali museum is fantastic. It is the 360 experience that lacks. We bought the Pink Floyd tickets for $25 additional. The sound was terrible- seriously easy to fix for a few dollars - SPEND SOME MONEY and get a decent sound system. Also some decent chairs would be nice- the cheapest plastic chairs were the only option. Also annoying was letting people in after it started. It ruined the vibe. You have great opportunity here- get a better sound system!

The building was spectacular. The videos were informative. The collection was impressive. The self-guided tour on the website was okay.
I met a docent in the lobby who seemed like she would give an awesome tour—lively and engaging. Wish we had done that.
The door man/greeter ((?security?) that we encountered out front was not in the least friendly. We asked if he could take a picture of us in front of the sign and he said abruptly without any warmth or apology, “we’re not allowed.”
We had no issue with someone following rules but he could have said it more nicely. We felt a bit slapped down and it was not a nice last impression.

Really worth the time to visit this museum. Was not a huge fan of Dali's work but this museum really presented him in the proper light, gave context around the time period and historical events which shaped his art, and enabled me to appreciate his work much more. Stayed in the museum almost double the time we planned. Make sure you have the benefit of a good docent - ours was great but I cannot remember her name!

A group of us took an afternoon to enjoy the Dali. Such a wonderful place to go. Wonderful collections and such knowledgable docents to explain. We all enjoyed

The information on Dalí and his work was so well provided. We recommend using the app. So much to learn about , and it makes the experience so much more enjoyable.

Had an amazing time. The Museum App was an added bonus. Viewing the masterworks with AR technology is a treat.

I really recommand the visit : very interesting
We also saw the 360 exhibit
The downloading of the app before the visit is essential : a lot of interesting information to listen to during the visit.
The Augmented Reality icons on the app were also very helpful to understand some « masterworks ».

Gets to the heart and soul of all things Dali.
And full disclosure - This one has been on my bucket list for one of my personal favorite artists.
And did not disappoint. A truly immersive experience. With a well rounded collection from each of Dali's artistic periods - classic to the surreal. Not a massive collection, but enough of a variety to see the unique visions of the artist. Including some very famous works. (and yes 'The Persistence Of Memory is not here).
Also went to the Dali 360 theater in the dome. Very nicely done, adding a new dimension to the artist and his works.
Excellent teaching tools - AR, a brief but very cool VR experience, very helpful audio narrations and docent tours.
And even a really good gift store (who praises the gift store?)
Well worth the visit

Loved the Dali: it had early to late works of him. Wonderful courtyard and cafe with good food at a reasonable price.

Okay museum. We were expecting a bit more, but it was entertaining. We spent about 2.5-3 hours here. We didn’t do the audio tour, but looked at and read the descriptions of all of the pieces, enjoyed a coffee from the cafe, and took some pictures outside. We did not do the 360 experience. We were unfamiliar with Dali’s flower pressing, so it was neat to learn about that. We could not find the persistence of memory piece, which was in this museum’s collection - we actually went back through to find it and couldn’t. We also did not ask, but I’m guessing someone would have been able to point us in the direction or let us know it wasn’t on display if that was the case.

Please don’t get me wrong if you read the title of my review … the Dali is an incredible place to visit and the art on display is well worth seeing. I just felt like there was a lot of unused space here that could provide more space for more of Dali’s work. When I left, I felt like I was wanting to see more than I did. That is my reason for 4 stars. Dali was an interesting man and you see that in his art. The cafe here had some pretty decent options for a quick bite, too. However, I had tea and could not get a free refill. I can understand that on a bottled drink or alcohol, but come on… unsweetened tea?? The gift shop here is of good size and has a very nice assortment of items. If you have a museum membership that is at another museum on NARM’s list, you can get in free here unless they have a special exhibit at the time … then you just pay their smaller extra fee due to that. Nice place to visit and I’d recommend it to others.

We learned and saw a lot of Dali more than we ever knew. He was brilliant and inspired. His friendships also inspired Dreams His love of Alice Cooper

The Dali Museum is a must-do when you are in St. Petersburg! I learned a lot about the artist and his work. The addition of the augmented reality for some of the art is definitely high on the cool factor! Whether or not you like the artist, you are compelled to view his art and see the details and just gaze with wonder at how his brain made these pieces happen! I wish the immersive experience in the dome was included in the entry price, but otherwise totally worth it!

Bought tickets for 12:10 on 1/20/2024. Spent 8$86 for 2 tickets. We were so excited got there 45 minutes early. Several events around the area which is fine. Waited in line for the parking lot, back to back cars. Waited 30 minutes until we reached the parking lot to find out it was full. Was told by the man, sorry you will have to find a place in downtown St. Pete. Not helpful, we had 15 minutes before our appointed time. Bumper to bumper traffic. Called and got the receptionist who was less than helpful. Told her our dilemma, and said they will try to fit us in at another time. Apparently fit in is no guarantee. Ask to speak to someone in charge. Said they will try to reach Shelby, manager in charge the receptionist came back in 30 seconds and said she couldn’t reach her. So we are now out $86 and did not get to see the exhibit. No refunds.
We get other events, busyness, but post info on your website for parking options, train your volunteers and make sure your manager in charge Shelby is available.

WAY too crowded. No crowd management. Very little to see. Will not recommend to friends. Very disappointing. Cash only.

I have been to the Dali so often I became a member. In order to appreciate the museum, you really need to do a little reading/viewing about Dali. He is such an interesting artist and person. He is more than his work as he was dramatic, but so talented. He was an artist but he was deep, knew about all artists, used math and physics to plan his art work. He understood philosophy and the use of reality and dreams to develop his work. You need a few hours to really try to understand Dali the madman, the genius and the artist. Download the app “Bloomberg Connect” to learn more about the museum and the history before your visit. Take a free tour (once every hour), visit the reality viewing and the short movie to truly learn about Dali and Gala. Go to the cafe for a Spanish meal or just a coffee and pastry. Make a day or 1/2 day of immersing yourself into Dali.

Mindblowing experience. The Dome is definitely worth the extra. Got a much better understanding of Dali and his work. The Cafe Gala is a must. The food is gorgeous and the scones are the best I've ever tasted.

I wanted to visit based on reviews and pictures I had seen. The museum was small in a beautiful area. I had not known the artist, so it was a learning experience.
We were there for the Dreams exhibit, sounded cooler than what it actually was. If you missed it, don’t sweat it. You snapped a code, typed in a one line sentence of a dream you had and an image would pop up of artwork that could depict that dream. The “tapestry “ was everyone’s image in the room at the time with the pictures put on a full screen.
We didn’t eat at the cafe. It smelled good and was wildly expensive. My Diet Coke was over $3 for a can! We spent about 2 hours there. Beautiful scenery, go if you love art and stranger things!

Dali was a genius. His art is thoughtful, intriguing, innovative, beautiful, and complex. The collection walks you through his life and some of his most important works. I personally think he was one of the most important artists of the 20th century. The museum itself is a work of art. The gift shop is super. I bought three items from it. So why did I give this only 3 stars? The app for the audio guide absolutely ruined the experience. Intially, it wouldn't properly load on my smartphone. After 10 minutes of frustration and no one to help, I did get it running, but then it kept crashing. This app wrecked the experience, and there were other people in the museum approaching me with the same problems asking me for help. There was no museum staff on site to help. I see other TA reviews have also pointed this problematic app out. What an utter shame this has not been addressed by the management.

As a disabled visitor, I was ignored, disrespected, and treated like I didn’t matter. Multiple messages went unanswered, leaving me humiliated and unheard.
No one should be treated this way. Management must take responsibility and ensure dignity and respect for all visitors.

Although the building is impressive as is the view from the inside out right at the beach front there are quite a few dis balances. First of all, the exhibition it self is smaller than the space for gathering rooms, restaurant and merchandise store. The works are, or course, fantastic, although it’s a pity most of them are framed behind glass. The glass is understandable. But it takes away some of details. The app wasn’t installing properly. So we couldn’t do the AR views.
The museum is pretty okay, but relatively small. The ticket price is very high, and on top of that they ask 15 euro extra for a short 3d experience and 10 dollar to park.

We had expected some of the Dali exhibition (it is the largest outside Europe) but in the end his works are only on one floor. The exhibition is tiny and the admission 25 USD and an extra 10 USD for parking.
Only the architecture of the building is very fascinating.

The museum has a no-tolerance, no refunds nor exchanges policy if you purchase tickets ahead of time. DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE UNLESS YOU ARE ABOUT TO GO. DO NOT PURCHASE AHEAD OF TIME. My girlfriend's son got sick and we can't go. I bought the tickets days before. There is no phone number I can find on their site. There's an email address which simply did not respond to my email requesting an exchange. There's a bot you can "talk" to which, again, offers not a single alternative. You can see this useless response in the photo in my review. Very disappointed.

Definitely worth the visit. I have been wanting to visit the Dali museum for years and finally got to go! The visit did not disappoint. Many amazing Dali paintings and 3 dimensional artwork with good information about each piece. The gift shop was also fun to look through. Don't miss the outside sculpture garden.

Very nice experience! I went there in the early morning, the parking was 10 dollars, but there is a street parking close by that’s cheaper! Definitely watch the Dali show, it explains his life and how his artwork develops! With the elements moving on the huge screen, I felt the art deeply! The exhibition was very nice as well, it was a little bit crowded, but still nice! There was a special exhibition there now, take a look as well!

This place is a real gem, with the largest collection of Dali's works in one place. The works are arranged in somewhat of a chronological order so that one gets a sense of the development of his unique style. There is an app that can be downloaded that gives explanations of various pieces and then does "virtual reality" for other works--very interesting and helpful.
Make sure to get a reservation as they seem to be required. We got one on-line right as we were walking there and it was no problem. No purses or backpacks allowed but there are free lockers outside.

I was familiar with some of the workof artist Salvador Dali and his celebrity persona, but was so much more impressed with his art after going to this museum. It's a state of the art museum, very impressive, inside and out. Highly reccommended if you have any interest in contemporary and important art. Also reccommended if you just want to see cool stuff in a cool place.

The supervisor at check in was beyond rude. We paid online last night and system charged twice for the three of us. She had a nasty and ridiculous attitude about our issue. It will be a very long time, if ever that we return.

I honestly expected more of it. The building is large and imposing, but that kind of hides the small content. I was expecting more paintings. What was very nice was that you could visit a Dalian environment with VR glasses.

For the price and from the exterior we expected more. Building is very interesting, The art is very impressive but the whole visit could easily take less than an hour and expect it to be crowded. The outside in the back is in great need of some attention. Location just a few blocks from the town center.

We went to check out The Dali Museum one of the hot summer months. We did not expect the magnitude of knowledge we got. The museum is incredible.
One suggestion- try to get on a guided tour.
Our guide was absolutely amazing

The museum was a good experience. Enjoyed the art . Don't miss the 3D room. Learning some of his history and background was interesting.

I learned so much here and spent too much in the gift shop. Dali was a very interesting man and one can stand and consider his odd but intriguing works for quite awhile. Downloading the app opens a world of explanation about many of the works in the museum, and I was pleased and surprised that I could reference these explanations after the fact, once home. There is a nice lunch spot inside, and the interior with its spiral staircase is quite beautiful. Very well done. I really enjoyed my time here!

If I could give zero stars I would. Please note this review does not pertain to the art work. The entire walk through was mediocre and could be done in less than a hours time.
On the way out through the gift shop you will see a classic Rolls Royce. As I was admiring and taking a video (which I caught the entire ordeal) my 6 y/o daughter whom was standing next to me reached out to touch the headlight and in that same moment a female cashier on the other side of the gift shop screamed out aggressively “DON’T TOUCH THAT” literally startling everyone around. Mortified, I kindly tried to apologize for my daughters gesture in which the cashier proceeded to scream at me to “control my child” and that she was calling security.
In the end I tried to discuss the situation with a supervisor but seemed pointless because we were literally on our way out of the museum during this entire scene.
Needless to say I have zero desire to ever visit again. As a native to the area it’s pretty upsetting because we often go to the Mahaffey Theater right next door for many events.

THE DALI MUSEUM IS AMAZING. BUY TICKETS EARLY AND ARRIVE EARLY AS PARKING IS LIMITED. TAKE THE SHORT TOUR. IT EXPLAINS THE HISTORY ABOUT DALI. THERE IS ONE PAINTING ON THE TOUR WHICH IS AMAZING. IT IS ONE PAINTINT CLOSE AND ANOTHER AT A DISTANCE. ALSO VIEW AN EARLY WORK BASKET OF BREAD.

First of all, the price of admission was high. Should have included parking.
Then, the ap needed to download onto my phone was not working well and the attendant had a hard time trying to figure this out. Other people also had the same trouble. This held up the line as you could only obtain tickets using the AP.
Once inside the museum was laid out but tours weren't well coordinated. I hooked onto the tail end of someone's tour. Tours at this museum are helpful to help explain some of the artists thoughts on the painting. The insight makes for more appreciation.

The museum was very interesting. We saw the Dali 360 event also. It explained a lot about his life and art, his influences and culture at the time. The architecture is unique. The other exhibit in the museum is a photography exhibit that was also vey good. We went on a Thursday evening after 5 Pm and were able to save $15 per ticket and to save on parking also. This still gave us enough time to see the whole exhibit.

This place is an amazing collection of art works. I went the weekend before the Grand Prix so it added a slight difficulty in finishing the entirety museum due to a large crowd. The pieces in this museum are unlike anything I’ve seen in Southern United States. Surrealism at its finest, I did notice staff telling YouTube bloggers and creators that they were not allowed to take pictures for promotional or business purposes. The parking lot is giant and is $10 for all day parking. They also do have a pretty strict rules on not bringing bags or anything paid for outside into the museum.

Such a great museum, highly recommend the 360 show and take advantage of the short Docent lead tour through the museum. Georgia lead our tour and she is an absolute jewel with loads of knowledge.

World class museum with 5 critically acclaimed masterpieces and a VERY impressive collection of works by one of the leading (Surrealistic) artists of the twentieth century. Can't rave enough about this fabulous place. I have been here 3 times now and it is a knock out. (Compares very favorably with the best NYC museums). This is a treasure trove of majestic avant garde works that mesmerize the eyes. I am utterly enthralled by this absolutely phenomenal collection of mind boggling Art. Salvador Dali was formidably expository of Sigmund Freud's theories about the subconscious. This goes far beyond the normal boundaries of representational painting and sculpture and indeed challenges the mind of the viewer to see deeper conflicts between the visual and the imaginary. The colors are so VIVID and the details are almost hypnotic. And then there is the museum itself with it's spiraling force five hurricane windows overlooking the scenic Tampa bay. Don't miss having coffee and cake in their exquisite little cafe. And the gift shop is sensational. A wide range of offerings practically beg you to take home a trophy from this tour de force establishment as a keepsake. This place ROCKS!

Imperdible: magical, beautiful, interactive, guided tours, stunning images, wonderful city, stunning marina, screens, sculptures, jewelry, clear explanations, tolerable cafeteria the rest was great. Surprise more than pleasant! Don’t miss out on Saint Zpeyerburg and don’t miss out on the Dali Museum

For the second time I visited this beautiful museum but this time I did it with my family. Buying tickets, parking and entering was super easy and comfortable. The works by Dali and other artists on display are truly fantastic. Here you will learn about the author's life, the origin of the museum and see many of his main works. The interactive exhibitions are great and the children loved them, especially the one where you take a virtual tour with the VR glasses. Also the artificial intelligence app that creates a work with the details of your dreams left us shocked. The museum store offers super interesting products. The patio has a beautiful garden with places to take great photos. This museum is highly recommended and a must stop for everyone who plans to visit Mr. Pete.

The building is fascinating - worth is the exposures in the garden - Dalí Lipid an egg and a bench with his folding watches - the paintings are ok but not really special

We were in town for several days for our 50th wedding anniversary. Our last visit was 30 years ago so there were new venues we wanted to see along with those we had already experienced. The Dali Museum was among the latter. We don't remember much about the old museum except that it had many more master works. Not a big deal when you enter this amazing space and begin to understand and remember what talent Dali had.
Teagen, at the front desk, accepted our $3 off coupons (up to 4 adults or seniors) for discounted gallery admission found in the Discover Downtown Map and Guide combined with the senior admission price found on the Discover Downtown Guide and Map. The coupons are also available on the Discover Downtown mobile app. We visited on the last weekend of the "Dali and the Impressionists" exhibit. Dali was influenced by the impressionists but didn't feel their style would last long.
There were several knowledgeable guides available to answer questions. We especially appreciated being able to take (non-flash) pictures. One guide overheard me lamenting that the 'melting clocks' masterwork was not in the museum. It is in another museum but he directed us to the Dali Alive 360, "an immersive experience bringing Dali's work to live like never before." There, on the outside of the dome, is a sample of the melting clocks which can also be seen at the Dali Alive 360 for an admission add-on.
Restrooms are clean and plentiful. People rave about the cafe. We met a woman who had the gazpacho and pronounced it excellent. It does great business but we didn't want to spend our limited time waiting in line. If you do have the time, be sure to eat outside and enjoy the view. We visited the gift shop for souvenirs; they were wrapped well. Pricey, yes, but I found a cool shirt on sale.
The museum has a strict policy about backpacks and liquids in the museum. An attendant checks all bags. Free lockers are available at the entrance which we used. It was a relief to safely store the backpacks. Simply select a four-digit code from the keypad, take a picture of the code and locker number. scramble the code and walk away. Easy and secure.
We walked to the museum from the Pier; our car was parked in the Sundial Garage. I saw that the free Downtown Looper had a pickup at the Dali which we boarded. The Looper only stops at the museum when it is open. We enjoyed a city tour while en route back to the garage. If you ride the free Looper, be certain to tip your driver who is committed to getting you safely to and from your destinations.

The collection is excellent. The building is impressive. The free movie about Dalí is very good. The gift shop is nice. But our disappointment was in two major areas.
The docent tour had way too many people. And the docent did not speak loudly enough unless you were very close to her. So we ultimately gave up on that. We looked at the art and read the descriptions on the walls. There was an app, but we preferred to learn from a docent There should be no more than 15 people with each docent. They need more volunteers to do this.
Second, the cafe was a total waste of time. Took FOREVER for us to get a sandwich and drink. The wait to order wasn’t too bad, but the delivery to our table was ridiculously long.
Eat elsewhere.

While in Florida we visited the Dali Museum, the design of the building is great, as you would expect, lots of Art to see, Surrealism isn't really my thing, but I can appreciate it. What I really liked at this museum was Dali's older pieces of Art, some of it was almost impressionistic, but my favourite painting was "Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea" which at Twenty Meters Becomes the Portrait of Abraham Lincoln, so very clever.

This is an amazing experience, even if you're not a fan of museums. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours. Download the app, and listen to the descriptions of the art. It's fascinating. Get there right when it opens because it gets crowded quickly. Save ten bucks and do on-street parking a couple blocks away (metered parking).

This is a pornographic museum. It is degrading to women and should be off limits to minors. Dali was a clearly troubled soul who has been put on a pedestal by some misguided individuals. That said, way over priced along with $10 parking.

We had low expectations of an entire museum devoted to a strange, niche artist but what a pleasant surprise! He had great artistic talent before becoming a PR spectacle and the explanations and Augmented Reality using your phone brought key pieces to life.

Family thoroughly enjoyed this excellent museum dedicated to and showcasing the works of Salvador Dali. Access is easy with plenty of available parking ($15). They have well over 200 of this artist's works on display and they offer a 35 minute film of his life and works as an added bonus (for an upcharge of $15). An afternoon well spent.

We arrived right before they opened at 10AM on a Saturday. The museum has their own parking lot ($10), but we found a number of open spots across the street in Albert Whitted Park for $1/hour. We only paid for 2 hours which was almost not enough time to enjoy the museum. When we arrived at the museum, we were told they were offering guided tours every half hour so we joined the first one at 10:30. Our guide was super informative in giving us background on both the museum and Salvador Dali. He explained the meaning behind a number of the paintings that you would never have grasped from just looking at them or reading the name of the artwork.

It was fascinating to gain insight into the man. The museum offers an excellent short film intro to the times & mindset of Dalí. What an interesting person with immense talent. I had only associated him with surreal pieces & was so surprised to find when he first started painting, his works were Impressionistic in style!

A very interesting building and presentation of the master pieces from Dali.Actually was a second exhibition from Picasso, very good presented and fitting to the Dali pictures.

Wonderful museum. Attentive and helpful staff. Unfortunately we were treated rudely by security; embarrassing me and my family. We were followed by security guards as if we were criminals or terrorists; and we didn't do anything about it. A completely discriminatory approach towards Latinos; totally different from the approach of others. We were the best behaved; what we spend most; and the worst treated by security. This is very sad...

This venue is a must stop!!
Having visited the original museum in Figueres,Spain three decades ago, we decided to go and see the Dalí museum in America.
Though smaller collection, it is very well organized. You can get in touch with Salvador Dalí creative genius!
It was incredibly eye opening!
We first started our visit by going to the dome to watch an amazing video about the artist. Worth it!
Then, we visited the collection.
The museum grounds are nicely kept!
The Cafe Gala had outstanding snack selection…you must try Tarta de Santiago.
The museum shop has a unique selection of items reasonably priced.
A Must Stop in the Tampa/Saint Petersburg area!!

Very impressive collection and exhibits about Dali's life and career. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The Dali Museum has beautiful architecture and a wonderful collection, I was enchanted. It was a valuable experience. I recommend the visit

I was here in February and the museum was loaded with lots of beautiful artwork… came again in September to share with family and half the museums artwork was on loan.. so the flora and fauna filled the rooms- so not a fan! The food at the restaurant in the museum is excellent! The souvenirs in the gift shop were mostly cheaply made, but really too expensive! The price of 30. Per person is over-priced for what is there now!! Didn’t mind paying that in February… because there was so much more to see!

The Dali focuses on the art of the eponymous Spanish surrealist. The collection is amazing, and since it is organized chronologically, visitors get a nice overview of the artistic periods of Dali's life. The app was helpful, though glitchy at times.
It's not a huge museum, and you could get through it within 90 minutes or so. Given it's size, parking ($10) and admission ($29) are a bit pricey, but it's well worth it if you're at all interested in Dali or avant-garde art.

This museum is best for fans of Dalí. For others with a more casual interest in art and Surrealism, it isn’t as vital to visit.

A gem !! A must see museum, the best showing of Salvador Dali work in the world. So much to see and to learn about his art , make sure you have time to spend, it will blow you away !!!!!

Loved this museum. The AR option on the free Ap really brings out a lot of information about Dali and his work. We spent about 3 hours and it was more than enough time to soak everything up. Spend the extra 30 minutes to listen to a tour guide who will give you the background of the museum and Dal’s connection to St. Pete. Definitely recommended!

Having studied the structure before and Dali's work prior to coming it was surreal seeing everything in person. His portraits have depth and interpretation to the viewer. The play in his art and just glimpsing at the way he thought? or what was he thinking as he created his portraits was striking. My only complaint is that it needs more. The garden was closed but hopefully it reopens soon. The museum itself is a work of art.

If you like Dali and you're in the USA, this is a no miss. A museum that reflects the eccentricities, eye and sensitivities of Dali. St Petersburg is lucky to have such a quality museum. It also sits on a beautiful water front location.

This is a must see. The museum is so original and the Dali works and information are spectacular! Plus you can enjoy something from the cafe out in the garden. Really beautiful.

Did the tour with the docent which was the way to go : learned incredible details about each painting.

The Coffee with the Curator on August 7th was excellent. My fiend and I learned a great deal and also were entertained by the speaker After the lecture we had soup and coffee at Cafe Gala. Here we had some of the best coffee and soup we ever had. Also we had Yaakov as our waiter. He was efficient and very welcoming to the cafe. He was a surprising addition to our time at the Dali.

The building and grounds were my favorite part of the museum. Loved the photo opportunities. Really nice gift shop with unique items and prints.

We went today. Half the garden was shut. There was only one gallery open. For what you pay in entry fees and parking we felt it was just not worth the money. Compared to other Dali museums it was very disappointing, having driven 100 miles and scheduled our holiday around visiting.

The building itself is amazing. Not a fan of surrealism art but still found it educational. The children museum delightful.

Traveled 4 hours to visit the museum. When we entered we asked how was the best way to view the museum. The ticket seller did tell us about two movies on the ground floor, which were excellent. Then we proceeded to the main gallery. The ticket seller never mentioned that we should down load the Dali museum app. Half way through the exhibit we asked a person who had it working. We then tried to download the app, but even on the free Wi-Fi it took one hour to download. By that time we had to leave. Spoke with supervisor who did not seem to appreciate that the museum should do a better job of training their staff to help the visitors who pay a high entrance fee to see the museum. Asked for refund as we had no way of understanding the art without the app. They refused. The next day we went to the Harry B Plant museum, where the volunteer staff could not be kinder and more helpful on how to get the most from the museum.

Throughly enjoyed Dali’s earlier work. We did not know he was an Impressionist artist and had such artwork early in his career. Also I was unaware he was Cubist artist for a while. I much preferred his earlier works.
The spiral staircase becoming a sculpture at the top end was truly a nice modern addition to a museum representing a Surrealist Artist

Was there on February 23, 2025. Visited Dali Alive 360. Enjoyed a wonderful guided tour with Joyce, docent + volunteer.
Do you know that this museum is home to more masterpieces of Dalí than any other museum in the world?
Thanks to everybody who makes this possible!

What a treasure to have in St. Pete. This museum holds the largest collection of Salvador Dali in the US. His work is surreal and very entertaining. A docent lead is a must to really understand the depth his mind goes to in these paintings.

Great art museum with a nice ambience outside as well. Love that they host events too which is a really nice touch. Great museum!

My wife and I moved to the Tampa area three years ago and have been wanting to visit St. Petersburg. I talked her into a Sunday trip to the Dalí Museum. I had checked out memberships online but decided to wait until we arrived at the museum because I had a couple of questions. So here’s the review.
Let’s start out with the bad. We rolled into the parking lot and were told to drive farther down to the covered area. I’m a 100% Total and Permanent Disabled American Veteran with license plates. Yet we were charged $10 for parking. Had I purchased the membership, parking would have been free regardless of ADA status. Next, my wife got her purse patted down on entry and she uses a walker but they just asked if she had anything in the walker. Feeling that her selfie stick wasn’t an issue she claimed no. Well once in the museum when she went to use it she was stopped by security. He radioed his boss asking if she could just put it away in her walker but bossman said no and to have her take it to one of the free lockers. I was gallant and took the offending stick outside to the bank of lockers but realized, hey I’m not that far from the car so I took it there. So a couple of things to remember about parking and selfie sticks.
I purchased a North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) membership which gets us access to other NARM museums throughout the states as well as Dali museum access for my wife and I and up to five children under the age of 18. All of this for $165 a year. There are other levels for purchase so check out their website or inquire at the museum.
One thing they had for fun were Dali mustaches at the information booth. These are simply black pipe cleaners but you can fashion it into a fun Daliesque mustache to wear around the galleries.
Next we moved to the Dali Wing where his art is displayed. I knew Dali was a Surrealist but the amount of detail in the paintings was amazing. There were paintings of all sizes and of differing aspects based on the time of his career.
Next was the special exhibit of Dali and the Impressionists. This gallery had works by Monet, Cezanne and other well known impressionists. One thing I didn’t know was that Dali began his painting career doing impressionist work and his pieces were also displayed.
Next it was onto the Cafe Gala (Named for his wife) with its traditional Spanish fare. I’ll review the cafe separately. Lastly we visited the Shop were you can buy several items including prints, shirts, jewelry, books and more. Keep in mind members get 10% off of the Cafe and 15% at the store.
The Museum is located on a great piece of property and the building itself is a work of art. I think you’ll enjoy your visit as much as my wife and I did.

I got a membership for my birthday! I am so IN LOVE with this museum it is now my home away from home! I could spend dayssss there!

No cash even for parking. They do receive cash tips though. US currency doesn’t work there. The art is masterfully done, obviously, but creepy.

This museum is a must if you are a fan of Salvdor Dalí. I went with a friend who lives in St Petersburg and she informed me before we went that she didn't like museums. Well, I had gone to his other museum in Figueres, Spain and had to see this one while visiting her in St. Petes. We both loved it. We were in luck because a docent was starting a tour and she gave so much information, which made our visit worth it. There were so many paintings and even some pieces like the lobster phone. The gift shop was a bit much, but if you wanted to walk away with something, they had it for you! We walked away with a book and a shot glass. Oh, the building's architecture is very interesting too. There was a cool exhibit about art & dreams across the way (inside), so it's definitely worth the price of admission. You'll have to pay $10 for parking if you don't walk there. Easy in. Easy out.

Accident bought 8 tickets for wrong day. Immediately informed them to switch to right day. Plenty of openings on the day I wanted. They refused to accommodate.

I wasn't a big Surrealist or Dali fan before museum visit but everyone my wife and I spoke with that visited the museum loved it. Now I get it!
We took the Docent led (free) Architectural and then the Art tour, which added such a different level of information and appreciation. Science, Math, and groundbreaking thought process. Paintings (Lincoln) that transform based on where you stand to view them.
If you're a Dali fan, go to the museum. If you are not, go and take the tours, and you might have a new appreciation.

This museum curates amazing shows drawing parallels with Dali and other artists. The Dali collection covers from beginning to end (he is more than persistence of time—have you ever seen his Lincoln?) Be sure to stop at virtual reality where you can walk in one of his paintings!
Museum restaurant food is good but painfully slow

Accidentally bought tickets to the wrong museum, and they wouldn’t Refund. Horrible service and attitude - they probably make quite a lot of money on this.

To make your experience better, we recommend starting with the theater room on the 1st floor. It will explain Dali's background and give you some good tools to understanding his paintings before you see them. On the 2nd Floor they have two Galleries. If you don't start with the visiting artist, you may not be impressed if you see Dali first. The Dali art area does have seating, which was nice for those that have trouble with prolonged standing. It was a lovely experience.

Upon entering the museum there's a cafe and the museum gift shop. Outside is where the garden area is. In the garden there are sculptures which were ideas Dalí conceived and sculptures made from Bronze after his passing. There's also his famous mustache statue there. There's also Dalí dome for an extra fee.
They will check purses. There are also free lockers for your belongings. To get to the exhibits you walk up the spiral staircase and you can view his permanent collection and the special exhibitions area.
Parking is $10.

The art is amazing and needs lots of time to study and understand. It was too crowded when we visited so we escaped to the cafe and enjoyed wonderful food.

Wonderful museum of Dali works that includes a short movie on Surrealism and its contributions to the world. So many great pieces that captures the extraordinary talent of the artist and his eye for detail and humor and absurdity. Lovely design of galleries that are showcased on the top floor of a beautifully designed building.
Perfect size to get lost in the art without being overwhelmed by vastness. Lovely curated shop that has something for everyone.
A must see when in area.

Although I am not a "fan" of Dali's art, I enjoyed the museum and will admit to learning quite a bit about the artist. In his early years as an artist he painted mostly landscapes and still life....but in the 50's he began his "journey" into surrealism. Without the informational boards beside each of his works I had a hard time understanding exactly what I was looking at. The museum itself is a beautiful work of architecture right on the water with a nice gift shop with all things Dali, a small cafe' featuring Spanish foods.

Amazing museum with way more to do than appears at the onset. Don’t miss the part where you can generate an AI assisted potrait of yourself in vivid colors and Dali l’s painting backgrounds

What a beautiful place to spend a day with family. The art of Salvador Dali is Unbelievable. I love the oil on canvas “gala mirando al mar Mediterráneo”

The views are amazing, we took several photos. Exhibition of original items produced by Salvador Dali.
Immersive experience.

This is well worth your time. Smaller museum that allows you to see the genius of Dali. Even if this isn't your type of artwork, interesting and informative. Take the short tour.

Totally magnificent! If you have no idea what art is all about. ...wait till you get a birds eye view of this man's artistic mind!

It was really good experience. Me and my husband went this weekend and had a good time. The tour guide Raul was very kind, the 360 experience center is worth it as well. It’s a very busy place to be

This is a MUST. The museum is not huge and overwhelming as some other great museums are. The staff is amicable. Start with a video about the exhibit, and bring your phone, as you can interact with some of the art work as you walk along. Easy parking for a fee, well located, cafeteria downstairs, and during the summer heat, this is a sure way to stay safe indoors while having fun!

If you are an art lover or not, do not miss this museum. While it is not as good as the Dahli museum in Spain, in terms of the art that is there, I was not at all disappointed. In fact, the head set tour was wonderful. Do not miss using it. There is also a sculpture garden, where you can dine. The museum gift shop is great. He was a remarkable artist. Even if you don't love modern art, it is still very, very enjoyable.

This isn't my kind of art, but it was fascinating because the artist was so unusual. I did enjoy the visit, and there was a nice gift shop and garden.

The Museum has outstanding paintings by Dali and there are very good tours available. However, it is not large, and expensive for most folks. Parking is $10, and for two to enter it cost us $56 with one in a party eligible for a senior discount. We came away appreciating Dali much more than before.

The App makes Dali’s work much more understandable and enjoyable! Don’t miss using it to guide you through his work. Go to the tours button and also use the augmented reality button to be fascinated with about 8 of his large works. We came in not knowing much about this famous artist and thoroughly enjoyed (almost) all of his works! Highly recommend visiting and using the app. Bring your own headphones. It’s easier than lifting the phone up to your ear and pressing the play button repeatedly.

This museum alone is worth a trip to Florida! We’d seen Dali’s place in Girona (Spain) but this beats it all: impressive large works with great AR (augmented reality) information. The video’s to start with are very instructive. A must see!

Don’t go there if you are not an art fan. Paid $100 for two just to be disappointed. The 350 cinema is ok, if you like Dali. They have some of his art there, but other than that it’s really just an art museum, so $100 for two just to see art is quite ridiculous Don’t take your kids, they will get bored quickly.

I was positively surprised by the museum. Super worth it!!! In addition to beautiful works, the museum has a super modern structure and uses various resources with AI.

Beautiful architecture, very airy and beautiful view
Easy access, easy parking
Near the pier, it is worth completing the walk

Absolutely loved my visit to the Dalí Museum! The architecture alone is stunning, and the exhibits are fascinating — surreal, inspiring, and beautifully presented. The guided tour and the virtual experiences add so much depth to understanding Dalí’s genius. Great gift shop and a peaceful waterfront location. Highly recommend for art lovers or anyone visiting St. Pete!

Amazing, don’t miss this museum! Even if you are not an art lover this place will open you mind and then blow it. Thank me later.

Exceeded our expectations.
Some of the exhibitions are interactive and the VR experience is excellent.
Join the free guided tours - they don’t last long but really informative.

I think someone who is a more serious art (or Salvador Dali) enthusiast would appreciate this more than me. I did enjoy the mathematical aspects of his work, but art like this (or most art?) is not really my thing. Kids found a few things they liked but it’s not a kid place really. For me, it was more expensive than what it was worth, but that is coming from someone who is NOT an art enthusiast.

Nice museum, beautiful art, the done is cool way to learn about Dali. The cafe in the museum is delicious! The gift shop is cute too. Beautiful being in the water down town.

I'm a huge fan of Salvador Dali's art and was amazed by all the incredible paintings in the gallery. I met the museum director during a previous visit. Staff was very friendly and answered most of my questions I had. Really liked the VR exhibit as well. I will definitely return whenever I'm in town with family.

COVID19 SAFETY is severely lacking. I bought a ticket on line in February for a date in March. When the date rolled around I was sick, testing positive for COVID19. I called the museum and they gave me 48 hours extension on the prepaid ticket to get well and use the ticket. Obviously, I was not testing negative 48 hours later. When I pulled through 12 days later, I called the museum and was sadly told that there are no refunds and they had extended it once but would not do it again! MY TAKE-HOME message was: if you are really sick, come to the museum anyway because they are NOT going to refund or extend the use of the ticket until you test negative. Apparently the box office does not care to protect the safety of staff and patrons!

The largest collection of Dali works outside of Spain. While tickets are pricey, it was well worth the visit. Enjoyed the 360 film as well. Great museum!

Just couldn't get enough!! The exhibits of Salvador Dali are nothing less than breathtaking. As I have always been intrigued by the complexities of his work, it was the size of his pieces that I found so incredible. Though I knew the works were much larger than other well-known artists', Dali's paintings truly tower over their viewers. (no exaggeration, 50') Not to mention, the museum's architectural design is a work of art in itself, and is a beautiful home to his work.
The only downside -- Though you can spend hours contemplating each detail of each painting, the museum can be walked through in an underwhelming 20-30 minutes. The company typically has an exhibit of one or more other artists that appeal to a similar group of art-lovers, BUT I was expecting a bit longer of an experience.
If you appreciate surrealism or fine art in general, the Dali museum is an excellent exhibit and sure to inspire its' viewers. If you're looking for a full-day experience though, I'd be sure to plan to see some other galleries to fill your day as well.

This is a not to miss experience! If you don't know who Dali was, go and see. You will walk away as mesmerized as I! What a master!

We went on a Thursday night when the museum is open later, tickets were discounted to $16 (usually $32) , and parking is 5$.
There is parking right next to the museum which is nice.
There is only 1 floor of exhibits. The virtual reality experience was free when we went and really cool. That lasted about 3 minutes.
You can scan QR codes with your phone to bring certain pieces to life. This was very interesting.
They do have food on site if you arrive early enough.
The grounds outside are nice as well.

Definitely a must if you’re visiting St. Petersburg. I’ve been a fan of Dali for years and when I found out this was one of the largest Dali collections in the world, I knew I had to check it out. The museum has a parking lot that you can pay $10 for or you can park in the surrounding area and walk in. I have been to museums from one side of the country to the other and I have to say that the ticket price of $29 is one of the steepest I have encountered. That’s not even counting the $15 add-on for the “Dali Alive 360º” experience. So if you’re going, make sure you stay for awhile get the full experience. I went on a Sunday and it was packed, so plan to get there early when you go. I really enjoyed the design of the museum itself, almost like it was taken straight out of one of his paintings. There are so many pieces to see, from the paintings to the statues to the installations. Check out “Lincoln in Dalivision” from up close but make sure to step back and view it from afar. The entire museum gives you a true sense of his eccentric genius. If you’re a fan of the surrealism master, then the Dali museum is one you cannot miss.

We’d been there years ago when they had headphones. Now you use your smartphone – so remember to bring ear buds (we didn’t). Docent lead tours are the best, but the crowd was too large on Sunday to be able to hear her. The “Persistence of Memory” painting was gone for restoration after guests had fingered the surface (geez). The Dale Alive 360 experience is not worth the money or time. First, there is a preferred side of the dome (on the right as you enter) because the displays are not the same on the two sides of the dome. Second, the show is multiple, floating displays of text and paintings in the museum. Some minor AI was used to make a few images move (e.g., the legs of the elephants). Overall, you’ll see more, learn more, and have a better experience with the Virtual Reality experience in the actual museum than this add-on attraction.

I visited the Dalî Museum and enjoyed it. It is well presented and a great way to learn about and experience the works of Salvador Dalî. It is housed in a building that fits the art of Dalî. The building has a beautiful, but non-conventional shape.
The first floor has a film that introduces the life and work of Dalî. I recommend spending time to watch the film it is a great introduction. There is also a cafe and a gift shop on the first floor.
The third floor houses the art works of Dalî. It gives good descriptions of the art and places them well in their context. Dalî's art started with some Impressionist works and then moved to Surrealism for which he is his best know. Later he embraced a style of art that was more realistic, but still contained many non-conventional expressions.
I very much enjoyed my visit. I learned a lot about Dalî; he was a master artist and a creative genius. Much of his work takes a lot of time to figure out what he is doing in a piece. It reflects his life and thought from the time he composed them.
One note is that Dalî's work has many themes that play on the 20th Century ideas of the subconscious and the interpretation of dreams. Because of this many of the visual themes are erotic and there is a bit of nudity in the art. If things like this make you uncomfortable or you have small children you will want to take this into consideration when deciding to visit the museum or not.

We had no prior knowledge of Dali and his art. Definitely start with the theater room to learn some background. We especially liked the Augmented Reality pieces. It is a little pricey and I thought parking should be included but it is a great activity if you enjoy art. We also liked the local youth artist display downstairs.

A stunning museum showing the works of Dali. However, the architecture is stunning as is the location. Do the 360 experience to start with as it tells the story of his time on Spain and relocation to the US and back.
The cafe is good but a little slow.

The breadth of Dali’s creativity is astonishing. He utilized science/physics when planning many of his works. We were educated about his wide skill set via a very helpful docent. One can learn about each work via your cell phone audio or a printed notebook.
If in St Petersburg vicinity, a visit to this museum is imperative. Plan several hours if you really want to absorb and understand the pieces.
The cafe has delicious small bites, salads, and entrees, all of which have a Spanish influence. The Gazpacho was among the best I have ever enjoyed (surprise to me).
Don’t waste your time or $15 fee on the dome experience. It does not offer much….The setting is novel (images in an enclosed room on every surface). The captions move too quickly to be read completely.
Gift shop offers an array of items from touristy stuff; books and puzzles to higher end jewelry and display items.
Again, make time to visit this museum.

Very good experience. Everything is laid out for easy browsing, and you get a good idea of his career. The interactive options were an added bonus. Only downside is that it is a little expensive.

First of all, I learned that I am not a Dali fan. I remembered seeing him on tv years ago and that he was an eccentric person. He was great at marketing himself as well.
I feel taken in by this over priced museum even though I have wanted to see the Dalí since it opened in this location.
For two seniors the cost was almost $100 using every discount possible. They even charged $10 for parking. It’s mostly for the wealthy IMO.

What a great museum! The audio guides didn't exactly match the brochure's direction and that was confusing. The cafe has excellent food.

Dali was a very interesting, weird character. There is a movie about his life and the movement he was a major part of downstairs. On the 3rd floor is his art exhibit, with a VR experience. Make sure you download the app before you start the tour to listen to details about many of the pieces as well as
get bonus views of the larger paintings. Highly recommend.

There is something wrong about this place recommending to purchase tickets in advance "to avoid sell-outs" and then not crediting, refunding or exchanging. I follow their recommendation and purchased online in advance. The night before the visit, I fell ill and did not have the strength to drive two hours there and two ours back in the middle of a bad rainstorm and flooding, so I gave up the money I paid for my tickets. 100% profit for them and very disappointing for me. I don't feel like trying again.

Always a winning choice. In addition to their permanent Dali exhibit. They always have a touring program. Right now it's Monet and Degas. So well done. They also have a 360 degree immersion in the round that is worth the extra cost. Don't miss it.
Their hidden gem is the cafe. Sit at the counter and watch the action.. Delicious food at reasonable prices.

This was a very interesting museum. I was not ever a Dali fan, but hearing his history and seeing as his work evolved from the beginning to the end was extremely enlightening. I recommend it to anyone.

We were only given one hour. Everyone there from the parking attendant who charged us $10 to the attendant who opened the door for us to enter at 5:00 p.m. to the clerk who charged us full price $60 for our tickets NEVER mentioned that they closed in less than one hour, at 6:00, nor asked us if we knew they closed at 6:00. Although they all looked a little unhappy to see us. A little later, after eventually finding the main Dalí exhibit, I asked an attendant about the AR experience and how that worked, and all he said (with no smile or courtesy) is that “we close in 30 minutes” and I said “no way, I would NEVER have paid that much money for one hour.” He said, “you thought we closed at 8:00 didn’t you?” Yes, that’s exactly what I thought, and everyone who took our money knew that’s what we were thinking and NEVER said anything. I just consider that being ROBBED. They should have and could have easily mentioned - hey did you know we close in one hour - just making sure because it takes a long time to see everything. But NO ONE did until after they took our money and almost immediately wanted us OUT. The attendants began rushing us out at 5:30 yelling reminders of their closing time every 5 minutes once we paid them our money. We had only just begun of our exploration of the place. I’ve never left a place feeling so taken advantage of with such a sick feeling in my gut.

The museum is great and the art is extraordinary. But the AR (augmented reality) app that you need to see some of the pictures adaptations doesn't work with a remotely up-to-date Android phone. It's very disappointing to see the Apple users seeing this but we could not!

This is the first museum that changed me as a person. My favorite museum is the Norton Simon in Pasedena. But the Dalí affected me pretty seriously. I think learning about the origins of surrealism was significant. The closing spiral obsesses me. I recently figured out how the postless spiral staircase was done at the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe. And built a model. Simple once I figured out. Will figure this out. Actually emailed the architect already. Look forward to the Dalí exhibit now at the Chicago Art Institute. They actually purchase the “Invention of the Monsters” from Dalí in 1942 and explains why the museum doesn’t have it. Thanks to the City and the benefactors for creating the Dalí Museum. Like Hemingway and Paris I think it will always be with me.

Had previously visited and had an excellent experience. We had prepurchased tickets for Thursday March 24. This day normally would have been busy because of Spring Training and Spring Break, but it rained that day which seemed to drive even more people to the museum and/or cause them to stay longer. It was oversold and way too crowded to enjoy. The "self-guided tour" had options which required using a smartphone to focus on a painting, which was impossible since any time an individual would walk between the phone's camera and the painting, the tour connection would fail.
The major annoyance and disappointment was that the guided tour was given by an employee who both socially distanced AND wore a mask. This made it extremely difficult to hear her. It both shocks and annoys me that the museum did not provide this person with a voice amplifier that would have made her commentary audible, despite the mask. EVERY OTHER attraction that we saw in three weeks at Florida had such devices.
Perhaps Dali is staffed by all volunteers, but few people who wore museum ID seemed to know how to use the self-guided tours, The crowd was predictable. If I were on the Board of the Dali Museum, I would be concerned about the competence of the museum's operational management, which is substandard both in comparison to te Muesum's collection and the operational managemnt of other comparable attractions.

This was a nice museum. There were a lot of pieces to see. It was too crowded to take the guided tour though. The staff I talked to were very kind. I had an issue finding the parking lot because of all the construction in the surrounding area. It was nice to visit but I don't feel the need to visit again.

I drove my family from Titusville, Florida to St. Petersburg Florida (on March 5, 2022) to visit the Dali museum. We bought our tickets. (Three adults) and entered the museum looking forward to a day of art enjoyment. We stopped at the Cafe for coffee, which we took out in the garden area to view some sculptures. We did not even have a chance to view everything in the garden before museum personnel began clearing the area for "a special event". We were herded unceremoniously thru the gift shop and out the door! We never got to see the museum, even though we paid to do so! If the museum knew that a special event was planned, consumers should have been advised that their visit would be prematurely terminated.
My wife has sent numerous email, but we have received no response as yet. I will update this review if there are any developments.

If you’re a fan of Dali you’ll be very pleased with the museum. A self guided tour is available on a phone app. This was my third visit to the museum in two years, very little changes. If there is another artist being featured, that’s the perfect time to revisit. Membership saves you $10 parking. The cafe on site is good, indoor and outdoor seating.

Finally a museum worth the price of admission. Entering the world of Salvador Dalí is a must-see experience for anyone who appreciates art.

I'm fairly sure I have little to add about this fabulous little museum. The permanent exhibits are an insightful history of Dali's development as an artist. If you take the docent's tour you will learn tons about his symbolism and approach. There's an amusing 3D goggle experience.
There was a special showing of their collection of Dali's drawings--they redefined "drawing" to include watercolors and any medium on paper. Despite the stretch, another insightful exhibition.
There are life-sized videos of Dali playing at several locations. What a showman!
I enjoyed a glass of their house wine in their garden, and wondered what will occupy the expansion they're building.
If you appreciate Dali, schedule a few hours here. Going to website and ticketing in advance is a good idea.

The whole place is a mind-altering experience! The exhibit traces Dali’s artistic journey & helps explain the enormity of his mad genius. With so many “famous” works, you will pinch yourself that you are seeing them in person. Plus the building itself is an organic extension of Dali-isms. Allow plenty of time to absorb the aura!

It's necessary to separate the visitor's experience from the art.
Thursday evening, reduced entrance fee, that's what we decided to visit.
At the entrance, we were stopped and asked to check our bags. But where, did I wonder, seeing no such facility. Well, it was explained to me that "checked out", inspected. Sure, we opened our bags and had them inspected.
Since we came some twenty minutes early, there were no lineups and we approached the ticket counter to buy our tickets. But no! You can't buy the tickets just as yet. You have to wait until five o'clock, that's when the reduced fee kicks in.
Rather, yes, you can go the "website" and buy the tickets there - right away - while the cashier is standing idly behind the counter.
We decided to wait until five o'clock, at which time we came back.
"You can't bring your bags with you", was the greeting we received. But-but-but we had them checked out already!
"No. You have to put them in the locker".
There's no locker to be seen, however, there was one outside the building around the corner.
So, once again, we walked out, deposited our previously inspected bags and finally -once again - approached the ticket counter. Paying together? Yes. I reached for the requested amount - "But we don't take cash"!
Are you kidding me? Is not a legal tender? "We don't take cash".
Anyone treating me like this will never ever see me again as a visitor. Simply appalling.

We made an extraordinary effort driving from Tallahassee to arrive before the 5:00 pm closing time. When we finally arrived shortly before 3:00 pm were we told by “TJ”, a security guard at the door,
that the museum was closing “in five minutes” for a special event. “It was on our website” he said curtly. Well enough. Having come a considerable distance we wanted to use a restroom. “We don’t have public bathrooms”, was the reply. The manner in which the refusal was delivered was rude. The denial of the use of a restroom was totally gratuitous. I suppose the popularity of the museum (which is understandable in light of the outstanding collection) made one employee feel that he could behave so rudely. My low rating is a reflection on the staff, not the collection, which I had seen on a previous occasion and wanted to show to my wife.

Believe the hype. The Dal museum is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with your family.I highly recommend visiting during winter time .

Gorgeous, unusual building. The museum, devoted to Dali, has a great, small collection of Impressionists, such as Renoir. The focus is on how the Impressionists influenced Dali.
The museum would be heaven for a Dali fan. Found out after touring that Dali isn't my personal favorite.

I love this place. This was the second time we have visited. We did not give ourselves enough time. I recommend 4 hours at least to be able to take it all in and enjoy some delectable and creative offerings at the café. We did the 360 experience which we really enjoyed. The Dali Live kiosks are brilliant and had us laughing. If I lived here, I would have a membership and visits regularly. Sadly the flaming giraffe on display in the gift shop is not for sale otherwise we would have bought it. We love that giraffe! Bravo Dali Museum!!

I loved this museum. The paintings are amazing. We did the 360 experience which was really cool. The restaurant was great. The whole place was very inspiring.

I am a big fan of dali, so i was looking forward to the museum. The building is cool, and i loved the paintings, but the tour was awful whuch ruined my experience. The wifi is horrible at the museum and it is necessary for the tours and other exhibits. The app worked occasionally, when it went out, I would have to go back to the first floor to get reconnected.
Also, the app is not set in order of the works, so I would lose connection trying to fund the next one up - the individual select did not work.
The workers did not seem to care.
This made the entire experience frustrating and not enjoyable.

Loved this museum! Absolutely stunning exterior architecture and the interior with Dali’s lifetime work are so impressive. You MUST do a docent tour (our guide was Randy) - his knowledge and interpretation of Dali’s work made this visit phenomenal. The setting on the water is beautiful, along with the park like atmosphere. Truly a museum gem not to be missed!

Excellent experience. The art by Dali is a must see in person. You may not like his work but I promise it will make you feel something.

Was first time visiting museum. Normally not big on museums but thought this was really neat. Some modern effects like interactive paintings using your cell phone and the museum app added a lot of interesting info while u walk through on each painting. Nice outside area and souvenir shop. Is definitely worth seeing if u have a few hrs.

Went to the museum on a weekday and went right after opening. I had read other reviews and I totally suggest those going to: 1) buy your ticket online beforehand and 2) do the tour! There wasn’t a line when we got to the museum but, prepaying made it simple to enter. We knew the time of the next tour and met the guide at the overlook (3rd floor). Everything was well organized, our tour started on time and our guide was very knowledgeable, she has been doing tours for 12 years. Having someone give you some insight on Dali’s life and explaining the pieces was wonderful. I definitely would not have had so much of an appreciation of the museum itself and of Dali’s work and his life. One thing I would also recommend is the AR where you wear googles and are immersed in one of his pieces and are in a Dali reality! To sign up we just went to the information desk and asked to be in the next time slot, the ARs happen every 30 minutes. There are only 4 chairs per session so it was fun to take part. The guy who set up our goggles made sure we were ready and it was the most incredible 3 minutes. I would highly recommend this - and the best part is that is was covered with admission. We walked through the garden but, we couldn’t figure out the maze part - where to begin but, that was okay as it was getting quite hot (summer in FL is so humid). The restaurant was nice, staff very attentive and the gift shop was excellent as well. We stopped at both and really enjoyed our entire visit. Well done Dali Museum, I will always recommend. Worth the 3 hour drive to St. Pete! It was on our to do list and glad we made it!

Our daughter is a young artist who happens to see the world through an Autistic lens. We brought her to the Dali Museum so she could see the possibilities of artistic expressions. We let her set the pace as we moved through the Museum complex. She loved it including the hot chocolate and cookie from the Cafe.
The only drawback was the noise level from the tour guides and other guests. Too many group tours in the same area to the point of sensory overload. We will try to pick a quieter time next time.

Fantastic way to learn about this interesting and talented artist. It contains many of his most important works. Make sure to view Lincoln from a distance. You also need to get a photo shot from the marker of the poster of Dali coming through the opening.

Museum is great. Reciprocity with other museum memberships a big win. I don't understand the point of the dome. They don't teach you about the art....it just flies by. The technology is cool but I wish they were explaining what was happening.

An interesting exhibition. Very talented artist but very complected had a difficult life. Did the 360° exhibition and although only extra $15 not really worth it. You can learn more about the artist in the theatre (located behind the showstopping staircase) hidden behind a closed door so was lucky to find it. Once in the gallery's Listen to the narration about some of the works of art.(scan the qr code on the wall by the piece) It will help you understand the art work.
The virtual experience was awesome. A nice way to spend a few hrs

5 out of 5 for any fan even remotely interested in Dali. Staff was great. Price points for the Gala Cafe were perfect and the building was incredibly clean.

This is a very interesting museum with a variety of Dali works and a great gift shop. The virtual reality exhibit was a treat! Take the time to visit here!

If you have any interest in art or find yourself in St. Petersburg, you should come to this striking museum.
While there are some works from other artists (including at present some Impressionist works from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts), this museum focuses on the life and work of Salvador Dali. Even if you are not familiar with art generally, you have almost certainly seen his iconic surreal art with melted watches, impossible scenery, etc.
They have cleverly matched the architecture to the art. As the photos suggest, while the layout is not surreal, it is very whimsical and creative. While there are multiple levels, Dali's own art is in about 10 galleries on one floor. The rest is exhibit space and used for other purposes.
A lot of Dali's art becomes much more understandable with some guidance and explanation. They do have docents and an app. I've been here twice and can echo the comments made by another commentator below that they need smaller groups as it was often difficult to hear the docent or even get close to the work while he was speaking. They have an app you should download, but while it can be helpful it stops short of the kind of helpful explanation that would tell you why, for example, the enormous painting of Columbus reaching America depicts him as roughly 19 years old and has multiple repeat semi-nudes of his image.
The gift shop is great, with books and unusual items galore.
The parking is in an adjacent lot and costs $10.
Having said all of that, we would highly recommend coming here with the understanding that you might have to look up some works to figure out what Dali was thinking and trying to say.

Amazing. The add on 360 Dali movie was worth the $, it is 35 minutes long, try to schedule it to do first. Otherwise even a dedicated art lover will only need 1-2 hours for whole museum.

The new museum is a big letdown compared with the original. No headphones for self guided tour, and additional exhibits are additional. Very disappointing experience. Plus most of the employees are quite surely and sound like they’re not Floridians.

Learned many details about his Dali's life and his art. The collection contains many of his paintings from his early stages and the more familiar subsequent pieces and sculptures. Well stock shop and bistro.

Go on a Thursday night 5 to 8 PM when it is half price. If you’re not a Dali fan, this will be plenty of time. The building itself is also gorgeous. Take the steps up and hold onto the right hand banister and it will continue in one piece around the entire upper atrium. Don’t miss the video of deep fake Dali delivering some hilarious and very timely quips. And most importantly, download the app onto your phone before you go and be sure to take your headphones with you. Some really neat things learning about the paintings can be done with technology.

We became annual members last year when the Van Gogh and Picasso exhibits were at the museum. It’s always a treat to see the special exhibitions (Canosa on 6/16/22) in addition to Dali’s works. We’ve been coming here regularly since it opened, and we frequented the original museum, too. Fun fact: I interviewed Ron Howard at the original museum when he was in town for COCOON & I was a news anchor at the news/talk radio station WPLP-570AM in 1983.
This museum is a work of art with its geodesic design outside and spiral staircase inside. It’s hurricane resistant, so if you are visiting during a hurricane, you’re safe! The exhibitions and Dali’s art are on the second floor, and the movie theater and gift shop are in the first floor. Give yourself at least an hour to see everything. Spend 2-3 hours to REALLY see everything!
I love this museum, and my only complaint is that it takes a hour to drive to it it’s in South Pinellas and we’re in North Pinellas County. If you live in Pinellas County, or come for a visit, this museum is worth a visit. Put it on your bucket list!

They sure didn't make it easy to visit. We had no idea the Grand Prix was happening that day. We are into art, not racing. Don't live in Tampa. Had no idea. When I checked the website for hours, I was mainly concerned if they were open on Sundays. They are. If they had something up about the Grand Prix, I missed it. But it goes RIGHT BY this museum and takes up the parking lot. So they were closed on Sunday when we planned to go. We went Tuesday instead and they were still taking down the stands and there was a shuttle service. It was very confusing figuring out where to get the shuttle. They could have just told you an address to punch into GPS, but no. We got there eventually, almost by accident. Then the lady selling tickets was very rude. Insisted we had been in the wrong line and tried to tell us to get back in the end of the line. We were in the line we were told to get in. But if you have even just a question about membership, its a different line. After the experience I had just had trying to getting there, I decided no membership, thank you.
The museum itself is very nice. Lovely space. Lots of Dali, well laid out.
The cafe is lovely. We enjoyed a nice meal there. Great menu with several unusual items. Gazpacho is good. The avocado toast is very good.
The 360 Dome thing was good. I had my two sons with me - 11 and 13 yrs. The dome is a movie that goes through the artistic stages of Dali's artistic career. Its a lot of the same stuff that is inside but presented in an immersive way that they were better able to pay attention to. But I think most people could skip it for the price.
If it hadn't been for the logistical difficulties, which likely don't apply to you, I give this museum 5 stars. But some better communication would have set me up for a less frustrating experience. And more stars.

This is a small museum, but very well done. Definitely download their app for the audio and augmented reality. Amazing! Small outdoor garden, small cafe, shop with some very interesting items for sale. $10 to park.

As a big fan of Dali, I have been wanting to visit this museum for some time. When I saw cheap airline tickets, I grabbed them and went to St. Petersburg for a weekend, mainly to see this museum. This museum is fantastic, they have a nice film about Dali and the building itself is beautiful. The art on display covers such a wide breadth of his work, it was really cool to see the progression. There is a free audio guide you can use via an app download, which I listened to and found very educational. I walked through the museum twice taking time to look at all the artworks. They have a very nice gift shop too, full of lots of great stuff.

What a gem of a museum and definitely worth the visit. Dali was never a favorite of mine but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit this astonishing collection. The ticket was reasonably priced but I was disappointed to learn that a very large section was closed for renovations. Our guide gave a perfect half hour introduction to the museum spotlighting some of the better known paintings. We then went back and visited more thoroughly using the excellent app (free). With a better understanding of Dali’s art my appreciation definitely increased. The building itself is architecturally interesting and the cafe and gift shop were better than usual.

A very good experience. We did the Dali alive 360 show which is 36 minutes long and gives an insight into Salvador Dali's life and art. The museum has several original paintings to view. The museum also has an extensive gift shop and a small cafe.

Excellent collection of art, especially early works by Dali. The 360° show & way the guide groups - not that stunning. All in all still worth visiting for art lovers.

As part of our exploration of western Florida, we visited lovely St. Petersburg and its special museums.
The Dali Museum was a very nice discovery for us.
To begin with, the building is a special architectural feat, with Dali "touches" throughout the building, such as the staircase concrete rai that continues spiralling upward a-la Dali's moustache or the specially designed windows.
The art collection of Dali creations is well presented and varied. Take your time to stop, listen and read about the different periods in the artist's life and ensuing works of art.
When we were at the museum, there was an exhibition of Picasso painting, covering a period of his work. Beautiful, informative and well presented.
Beautiful Museum!! Definitely Worthwhile!!
Don't Miss
This place is incredible. I'd been intrigued by it on previous visits to the area, but the admission price with a family (adults $28) had put me off.
This time it fell into place. Half price Thursday evening 5pm- 8pm. Sold. Everyone in our party loved it. The Abe Lincoln block artwork was awesome. The museum is the right size to go around in a couple of hours and get it all done. Staff great. Parking adjacent is $10. $5 for the Thursday evening. Great gift shop.
