Excellent review of the Town MUST DO

By Edsalldw |

The owner guide was very knowledgeable of the pilgrim and revolutionary history he can back up his fax from the writings of the time. Much of what he says is in today’s terms politically incorrect and he gets pushback but his statements are truthful and accurate. Some topics that generate controversy are Indian relations , women’s empowerment , capitalism versus community economy.
This is a walking tour of about an hour and a half. Make sure to spend time in there abolitionist historical room. It also is somewhat politically incorrect but again very accurate and education. His attitude on mass is incorrect specially given his Age in those in the audience he can wear a mask or face shield over the microphone. But it was outdoor and breezy so we felt safe.
We took the second tour at noon time of the crane at monument. That also was excellent and worth doing.

Take this tour!!!!

By teknofauz |

This tour is a must. Leo's ability to inform in such an interesting and humorous way is phenomenal. Our 7 year old and 12 year old granddaughters were just as fascinated with Leo's stories as my husband and I were. We all learned so much in such an entertaining environment. Do not pass up this opportunity.

Wealth of information

By DawnD285 |

The man that does this tour has an extensive information about the history of the pilgrims, and details you will never read about, of all the tours I experienced this was the best, highly recommend to anyone. He is not boring. What a different view of what happened back then, the truth.

Great tour

Leo is a wonderful guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Plymouth and the Mayflower passengers. We learned a lot!

A Knowledgeable Pilgrim

By terrance s |

Leo, our pilgrim guide, shared a textbook's worth of facts and entertaining side stories we had never heard before. What an enjoyable way to learn! The walking was very doable. Leo is truly an asset to the town of Plymouth. We highly recommend this activity. Don't miss out.

Take the walking tour

By bmh51387 |

The walking tour with Leo Martin is a must. It is a fact-based tour about the Pilgrims, why they came, and what their life was like when they arrived. The facts come from pilgrim writings, including those of William Bradford. The tour is excellent. I believe there is a non-walking version also. Cost includes entrance to the museum.

A Wonderful Experience

By Joanne C |

The minute you walk into the Jenney Museum, you are greeted by Nancy and Leo who are such genuine, kind people. We stopped in unannounced and Leo agreed to take us on a tour almost immediately with a group of young people from Youth With a Mission. The mission group was there to help the couple with chores around the museu. What a delightful encounter with all who attended the tour. With regard to Leo, he was one of the best tour guides I ever experienced. Dressed as a pilgrim on a rather brisk, cold fall day, Leo brought history alive. His demeanor, the bright twinkle in his eye, and the care in which he presented the history of Plymouth was truly heart warming. If you go to Plymouth...make it a point to visit Leo and Nancy. Two very special people!! I will remember them both for years to come.

Amazing and educational (and a lot of fun😀)!

By Joey Sorenson |

Our family (myself, my wife and our 4 children ages 11-18) did the Historic Plymouth tour with Leo yesterday.we had high expectations and we were NOT disappointed! What an amazing, entertaining and educational way to spend a morning! We saw way more than we expected and learned more than we could have imagined. Leo involved and engaged everyone, right down to our youngest daughter. As a homeschooling family, we could not recommend a tour with Leo through the Jenner Museum more! We will be telling all of our friends and family about this experience!

Nice tour

By Shannon G |

Very informative introduction followed by a quick tour downstairs with some small hands on activities for the kids. Great photo ops outside by the water wheel. If you have time, it's worth a quick stop

GREAT!!!

By Adventurer252487 |

I was a bit skeptical about this tour, but the amount of knowledge our tour guide had was amazing. He was extremely well spoken and it was a joy to be in his presence and learn about all the early history of the settlers. A “must do” while visiting Plymouth.

Informative and Inspiring

By Myreel L |

This is a must do for every visitor to Plymouth who wants to better understand not only the circumstances but the heart of the Pilgrims. We did the Christian Heritage 3 hour Tour last Saturday, and it was all fascinating--informative and inspiring. The tour teaches what every American family should be teaching our children about the Christian roots of freedom in America. We commend the Jenny Museum for providing such a marvelous Plymouth experience.

Great walking tour of Plymouth.

By Companion590452 |

The local guide was interesting and very informative. We learned many interesting facts about the first settlers and Indians.

Perfect Tour of Plymouth

By J Tyler H |

My family - including 3 teenage boys - took a tour with Leo. My kids typically hate tours, but loved Leo’s stories, whit, and wisdom. It was the perfect tour of Plymouth as Leo shared the history with the appropriate religious basis for these Pilgrims. It was one of the highlights of our week-long trip.

EXCELLENT!! Best use of time in Plymouth!

By Brian G |

This is the way to see Plymouth - on a walking tour with Leo! I was skeptical - I'm an anti-social New Englander and thought a tour guide in a historic outfit would be awkward, cheesy, touristy, or amateurish. Erroneous! Leo is a national treasure and a great American who is charming, extremely knowledgeable, and puts you right at ease. His narration is first class and he'll leave you alone if you want, but you'll find yourself wanting to engage him in conversation, which he's great at. Very entertaining.

If you value America, if you're interested in history, if you want the truth behind the founding of America that hasn't been scrubbed for political correctness, you need to go on this tour. Leo adds so much to the sites around Plymouth that just sit as cold granite markers in the absence of his fascinating explanation. His narrative isn't just a chronoligical storyline you could find on Wikipedia, it's an explanation of the themes and concepts to life that defined the time, impacted the Amerian way of life, and have repercussions today. You'll leave with not just a better understanding of Plymouth, but of culture and society from medieval Europe to today...and why. Why it matters. What it means for life in 2019.

You'll see almost everything in Plymouth worth visiting on a pleasant and beautiful walking trip.

Lots of great material in the gift shop and a little museum that lays out much of this history.

I typically dislike tours like this, but Leo is what makes this one of the most meaningful 90 minutes of your year. If there's one man in Plymouth you'd want to meet on your visit (even if like me, you hate meeting people), this is that man. You won't regret it. I wish this tour was mandatory for all citizens. Amazing!

Great Resource

By Beth A |

Great resource for better understanding the history of America in general and Plymouth in particular. A labor's of love by the owners. Definitely worth a visit!

Quaint little museum

By valma c |

We visited this museum briefly after having a brilliant walking tour by the guy who runs the museum. It's only very tiny but has some nice old photos about the area and it's history. The walking tour was great, very informative and fun and I would highly recommend.

amazing walking tour

if in the area you MUST take the walking tour....it also gives you access to the museum.....great way to learn about the early life here.....best tour in plymouth

The Jenney tour with Leo

By Don H |

Our family took a Plymouth tour with Leo. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the city, history, and the founding of our country, among other things. He was so captivating, on several of our stops people were moving closer to our group to hear what he was saying. He even dresses the part. Highly recommend him to make your Plymouth trip complete. The Jenny Museum store also had a great selection of books on related topics. Worth the trip!

Learn the truth about our country's origins - be sure to spend some time with Leo!!

By 784nanasue |

We have done 3 sessions with Leo: Economy of the Pilgrims, walking tour of Plymouth, and the Monument Tour. All were great. But if you don't have time for all of that, be sure not to miss the monument. I had been to Plymouth in the past, but at that time I was not even aware of the monument, and the overly commercial tourist trap sites aren't going to tell you about it! Leo's walking tour is also a must. Do yourself a favor and skip the folks pretending to be pilgrims and Indians and go to the Jenney Museum. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the knowledge you will gain and the message you will hear are interesting, engaging, enlightening and uplifting. I highly recommend.

Historical with nice walk

By FLTraveler88 |

Full of history as the largest monument in the US. Walked it every morning, meeting other dog owners. It's a landmark visible from the bay.

Walking Tour of the Pilgrim's Plymouth

By BST47 |

This past Saturday found 5 of us friends at the Jenney Museum at 48 Summer Street, Plymouth, MA to meet up with Leo for a walking tour. This was such a big hit, one of our clan said it was the best tour she'd ever taken.
Leo, dressed in period garb, walked us through the streets of Plymouth, past the runners for the road race in progress. He was able to help us get the feel of life on the Mayflower, that first winter, life with the local native Indians. The history of the famous "rock", legends and lore were revealed.
Done with a twinkle in his eye and a sense of humor. Leo made the hour and fifteen minutes flyby. Well worth the $12 per person fee. There are hilly streets involved, so not for those unable to get around well.
The building does have photos and interesting items to review, but it is not really a museum. There is a small gift shop.

Don't miss stopping here on your visit!

By John M |

If you want to hear and understand the real story behind Plymouth then you have to make sure and stop here. Great place to pick up some books and knick knacks as well. The walking tours are amazing and worth every penny!

The TRUE History of the Pilgrims

By Corey S |

We loved our tour of Plymouth with Mr. Leo. He was engaging, entertaining, and most of all informative of the TRUE history of the pilgrims. He quoted from primary sources. I wish every American could take this tour of Plymouth with Mr. Leo. It was very enlightening and encouraging.

Great Walking Tour!

By TheTravelgirl2 |

My husband and I reserved a 1:30pm tour via phone. They ask you to come 10 min early so Leo's friendly and organized wife can check everyone in and hand out neck lanyards for the tour.

Leo came downstairs to the gift shop promptly at 1:30pm, ready to go. He set a decent pace, and would stop at various points of interest to describe events, and relay stories and anecdotes. There was a bench at several locations.

It was so great to hear a more authentic version of how and why the Pilgrims came to Plymouth. We learned new and interesting info never taught in school!
Some tour highlights included the original spring-fed creek (and why it was important,) significant statues, cemetery, church, courtroom (and its importance in history,) Plymouth Rock, and the site of the original Plymouth Plantation.

Leo was humorous, ernest, and had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the Pilgrims. We enjoyed this tour immensely!
Please note there were some gentle hills and uneven surfaces at times.

My school and I learned so so much from Leo. The walk was so beautiful, and his outfit was fire. I would defenitely go back!

This is a "must do" when in Plymouth! Best historical tour in town by far!!

By 2018travelteam |

Don't miss the captivating and informative true history -- documented by historical sources -- of the Pilgrims and Plymouth, Massachusetts. Leo Martin is the most knowledgeable tour guide that you will find on the subject. He is a nationally recognized historian and speaker. Great sense of humor, great sense of history, and so full of information, yet very approachable. Take every tour that you can, you will be so glad you did! The museum itself is small but packed with historical information that translates into the world that we experience today. We visited the area from Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday and loved every moment! Would give it 10 stars if it were possible!

Best tour in Plymouth

By Joshua S |

We came with limited time and chose to go with the Jenny walking tour, it exceeded our expectations. Absolutely the best tour and use of our money, we learned so much.

Hmmm

By DanMarCo |

We went in the museum and waited 3-4 minutes. The lady working there
was occupied discussing restaurant options with 3 young ladies, she wouldn't acknowledge us, so we left.

Guess we missed out but we'll never know.

Not a Museum

By 93alede |

Just to stop some confusion as all the signs on the building refer to this house as a Museum, it is not. They provide walking tours of Plymouth by prior arrangement

Walking tour

By JTharnish |

Called in the morning for reservations and Nancy was very accommodating. Enjoyed every minute of our tour with Leo. Very informative, fun and we were able to ask questions. Incline/declines and uneven roads were difficult with transport wheelchair.

Don’t miss this

By lisajaneash |

This was my second time in this tour. I wanted my kids to experience it. If you believe that the USA is a covenant land, this is the tour you should take. It’s refreshing to hear the story of devout Christians that came in peace and relied on God. Thank you Leo!

Visit the Jenny to learn; put the Plymouth sites into proper historical perspective

By Martin |

We were visiting the Monument to the Forefathers and bumped into Leo Martin giving a tour of the monument. He was knowledgeable, articulate and enthusiastic. After his tour was over, we talked with him a bit and he told us about the Jenny. We couldn't pass it up.

When we visited, we also met Nancy and were just blown away by the integrity and grit of these people. Their knowledge of the history of the Pilgrims, as well as what came afterwards and about the founding of our country is thorough.

By all means, go see the Mayflower II, the Plymouth museum, and even Plymouth Rock. These are all the "mandatory" tourist sites you should see. But then do yourself a favor and go to the Jenny. Have a conversation with Leo and Nancy. Put what you've seen into perspective. Learn the context of the snippets of information you may have learned (or not, these days) in school. Enrich your knowledge of America's early days through the insights of these wonderful people.

Then, after that, go see the Monument to the Forefathers. It will mean a great deal more to you after having been to the Jenny.

Learn to grind grain

By Sandal Jim K |

A working grist mill in a picturesque setting. While the grist mill was not working the day we visited, the staff was very engaging and gave a thorough overview of the process, answering detailed questions. Our 8 year old granddaughter enjoyed the activities on the lower level using a mortar and pestle to grind corn and using the scale model water wheel to learn how water turns the wheel.

Must do in Plymouth!

Must do!!! Knowledgeable, funny, moving. This man is a treasure and you should take adavantage of his knowledge.

Hidden Jewel in Plymouth

By TLOuellette |

Leo and Nancy Miller have a passion for the history of Plymouth that makes their tour of the town and the National Forefathers monument come alive! Don't miss this tour! The museum is enlightening for history lovers! The National Monument of the Forefathers is not to be missed! It is a hidden jewel and only blocks from the waterfront!

Christian and biblical principles

By Christina G |

We went on the Plymouth walking tour. We learned so much from Leo! We loved hearing history founded on Christian and biblical principles.

Worthwhile Historic Stop!

By buffettb |

After breakfast we walked and stopped by the Jenney Museum. We didn't plan to stay long but instead were captivated by the presentation and displays. Not pricey - $6 per person. 3 rooms, DVD's and much more. Worth the time!

An Absolute Must

By Sara Zell |

Our family traveled to Plymouth this past Thanksgiving and truly one of the greatest highlights for us was running into Leo Martin! We visited The Jenney Museum later that day and what what we experienced there was absolutely mind blowing! Getting a history lesson from this incredibly gifted and wonderful man was unforgettable! Leo and Nancy Martin are true patriots and gifts from God to our nation! Their knowledge, experience and love of truth shines through them! Us and our kiddos learned so much! HIGHLY recommend to any and all!!!

Highly recommend The National Monument of Our Forefathers

By Kym M |

Excellent tour! If only our education system would teach this part of history to our children in American school systems. This is a very important part of our history that has been hidden away. Highly recommend, very informative after taking this tour and then another tour of the Freedom Trail it was definitely apparent that there is a push to eliminate the Christian side of contribution to the building of America.

Worth every penny! Take the walking tour!

By Cathy S |

This is a delightful little museum in historic Plymouth. The couple that are the owners are so friendly and knowledgeable. Leo does the tour and does an exceptional job. We did this instead of the pricey Plimoth Plantation and we were so glad we did! Leo knows everything and shares it with you in an entertaining way. Dressed in period costume, Leo takes you around to all of the important sights of downtown Plymouth. We saw the mill and got the history of why and how the Pilgrims chose that spot. Leo took us to the two statues along the river for the maiden and the mother. We went to Plymouth Rock where Leo shared with everyone there it’s history. Our small group of four continued on to all of the other monuments and buildings, roads, and cemetery! Highly recommend this tour!

Understanding the importance of the Pilgrims in America's foundation

By Laurie P |

What an incredible experience to visit The Jenney! We immensely enjoyed the walking tour of Plymouth. Leo is a wealth of knowledge, and we left with a better understanding of the Pilgrims' impact on our country. We also took the tour of the Monument of the Forefathers, which was equally as wonderful. We are thankful for Leo and Nancy's commitment to share the story of the faith of the Pilgrims. We highly recommend these tours!

A great walking tour

By Gloria S |

The gentleman was extremely knowledgeable and the pace of the walk was just right! He covered all the history and it was very easy to imagine it all happening. He wore a microphone which was very helpful. It did not take away from his authenticity at all. He looked so real in his attire. (See the photos)Very enjoyable and just the right amount of time

Wonderful tour!

By Tina C |

My 12 year old son and I went on this tour. We had a wonderful time! There is plenty of public parking near the museum. While we walked, there were many opportunities to take pictures. There was so much information. We saw some beautiful parts of Plymouth. The tour guide, Leo, was very interesting and spoke with passion. At the end of the tour, my son was very enthusiastic and wants to do more tours like this one. Thank you Leo!

A fun way to learn!

By wendymU7230PZ |

Did the historical Pilgrim walking tour this morning with the Jenney Interpretive Center. Loved that it was led by someone "in costume" dressed like a pilgrim who spoke in first person. I learned so much about the pilgrims I never knew before! Heard stories about specific Mayflower people, why pilgrims were able to survive, relationships with the Indians, and much more. So glad we went to Plymouth and did this tour!

Fabulous Tour - highly recommend it

By Roberta S |

We had the pleasure of having Leo and his wife give us a tour of Plymouth MA a few weeks ago. We loved it! Top notch, quality tour, with lots of interesting stories. A highlight of our trip!

Great tour-lots of information!

By Deborah |

Leo did a fantastic job! If you want to know about the real history of Plymouth and the pilgrims than this is a must. The tour is about 1.5 hours and is very informative.

A must do when in Plymouth, MA.

By Bev_Sev |

Leo does such a great job preserving the true history of the pilgrims that he even dresses in period costume! He & Nancy are so welcoming and down to earth that we’d love to take the tour again!
Thank you so much for a great day!

BEST tour in Plymouth hands down

By Lorena Semerenko |

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this museum and this tour. It was one of our favorites, and one of our children’s favorites as well. The museum is very well done and extremely informative. The tour guide was PHENOMENAL and we are honored to have met him. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Plymouth area, especially if you are interested in the truthful historical aspects of our first settlers and our founding fathers.

Leo's Fangirl

By Amanda M |

Of all the times I've been to Plymouth, I have always wanted to do a comprehensive walking tour that will give me a real feel for the Pilgrim experience and make their story real for me. THIS is the place to go! I found the walking tour Leo gives SO moving and SO interesting that Mom and I signed on for his Monument tour DIRECTLY after we arrived back at the museum. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this tour was. We did the tour on a brisk day in late October so the walking was good and the air was refreshing. Mom, who has some movement issues, was able to keep up with the pace and was very comfortable.

A Plymouth must do!

By Patricia H |

I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed Leo taking me back in time. He takes you to all the places you want to see and gives you so much history. You don't want to visit Plymouth without taking this tour ..... first!

Plymouth is the place, The Jenney is the Destination

By Jae W |

Leo and Nancy make this one of the most special and unique places to visit in all of the United States. The tours (take all of them) will open your eyes to the richest and sacred history of our founding fathers at Plymouth, MA. Plymouth is a place, the destination is The Jenney. I’ve come back to The Jenney on four separate visits, taking the same tours each time. So worth it everytime. Thank you both for a wonderful tour(s).

Top “things to do” for a reason.

By Joseph H |

I’ll keep this short and sweet and flat out say.. the other 5 Star reviews are accurate. Married 44 years, this couple puts together an excellent tour. Their passion and enthusiasm for their craft shines through in their work and gave us an unforgettable experience.

American history sans revisionism

By Allen K |

Charming and informative. If you want to get some counterbalance to your children's public education which are still dominated by revisionist ideologies, spend some quality time here with the whole family.

The Real Info

By mmoakas |

Our family (including a 11- and 17-year old) went on the Forefathers Monument Tour and Plymouth Tour with Leo. Both were fantastic and our family learned so much of the real story! We went to the Jenney Museum BEFORE we went to Plimouth Plantation. Were we ever glad we did! Leo and his wife Nancy, the owners, were so accommodating. The money you pay for the tours is very reasonable and so worth it!

A BEACON OF LIGHT!

By Christina A |

Our 14-year-old son and I thoroughly enjoyed the Plymouth Tour and Forefather's Monument with Mr. Leo Martin as our Guide. With his 20 + years of leading tours and passionately sharing our nation's history, we were incredibly inspired by the Pilgrim's WHY and the courage that came from their unwavering faith convictions. "The great experiment" that began not by a monarchy, aristocracy, or tyranny -- but hewn by men and women of great wisdom, who were guided by the truths of God's eternal Word.

Walking tour

By GGDesMoines |

Informative and interesting walking tour. Well worth the price. It covers the area of the original settlement well and doesn't walk all over town. My only criticism is that he didn't ask for Mayflower decedents at the very start of the tour to personalize it a bit although I think everyone's sites would get mentioned if they were along the route. We recommend it and bought a book about it in the bookstore. No kids in our group but I think it would keep their attention also. About an hour and half long. The group size is limited and hearing was not a problem.

Discover Plymouth’s History - A Walking Tour

By Sarah B |

The tour was fantastic! Seeing the original area of Plymouth, learning the history and hearing stories about the original settlers was interesting. It really brought them to life!

Take the Historic Walking Tour with Leo!

By Allison M |

Leo was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting for the whole family!

He dressed in pilgrim area costume, took us to beautiful parts of Plymouth and historic highlights, gave us a great overview, and answered all our questions!

Only at the Jenney

By whitney h |

Our family of 7 absolutely loved this tour. We enjoyed the scenic walk through the city as we learned details about the Pilgrims that aren’t in text books. It was an emotional experience hearing about their strength and seeing the actual place they landed. I’m so thankful that we did this tour. It added so much to our trip.

Best way to see Plymouth

By Rachel C |

This place is wonderful! I think it’s the best way to learn about Plymouth. They offer a few different tours. We did the walking tour of Plymouth and the American Covenant, which is about the Mayflower Compact. Leo is so knowledgeable and a great patriot. He has a fun sense of humor too. I think so many people probably go there and miss this. I read about it in someone’s blog and redid my itinerary for the day and I am so glad I did. We did this in the morning, Plimoth Patuxet in the afternoon. Then rode by the Monument to the Forefathers.

Fantastic tour and tour guide!

By babytike |

My husband and I were lucky enough to find out about this tour in a magazine. Leo is an excelllent and very informative tour guide. He showed us so many historical sights and gave us so much information. We would have never been able to do this on our own. It is a very enjoyable tour. Highly recommend.

A fantastic tour!

By LocalTourist16 |

We had a great tour with Leo yesterday and highly recommend for anyone that wants to learn more about the original Plymouth settlement. Our walking tour lasted an hour and a half and our guide (Leo) was knowledgeable, witty, and clearly passionate about the early colonial period. He takes you to many sites in the early colony and explains the significance to the Pilgrims and the colony. If you have time at the beginning or end of the tour, there’s also a museum at the Jenney house and a video (done by Leo) that goes into further detail about the Pilgrims. We loved this whole experience and highly recommend!

Highly recommended walking tour

By Mike H |

Loved the tour and the insights that Leo shared. It’s great to walk around and learn about it by seeing instead of just reading in a book.

Great Historic Walking Tour

By Rosalie S |

Leo gives a scintillating vivid walking tour of the history of the Pilgrims and their settlement with lots of humor and obvious great affection for his subject matter. Great way soak in the history.

Awesome tour of Plymouth

By JenEm |

Inspired by Trip Advisor reviews, we booked a historic walking tour of Plymouth with Leo, and he exceeded our expectations. The kids (8 and 11) were really interested in his stories, and my husband and I learned a ton. Leo really brought Plymouth to life for us, and the info we learned helped set the (historic) stage for the rest of our New England trip. Leo is a fascinating and interesting tour guide - one of the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this tour. We didn’t have a long time in Plymouth but this was the perfect way to spend it. Thank you, Leo, for a great tour! I wish we had had time to tour the museum - I suspect it was excellent, if it was anything like the tour.

Leo is amazing!

By Mike H |

Such a passionate man about the history of this country if ours. He wants to educate all of us but especially our youth. If you want an honest opinion of our heritage then this tour is for you. I wish I would have had more time with Leo. Thanks again Leo for opening our eyes and ears.

Thankful for Those Great Women and Men Who Sacrificed So Much for Us

By Sean F |

Sincerest thanks to Nancy and Leo for their tireless efforts to preserve our great Country's true history during these challenging times. God Bless both of you and the United States of America.

Wow! The best tour I’ve ever taken!

By Ashley G |

Leo was amazing and the tour was so interesting, inspiring and fun! This is a MUST-DO activity if you’re in the area!! I learned so much about the brave, sacrificial pilgrims and walked away feeling so grateful for the risk they took to come to America... and so thankful for Leo and Nancy and their comittment to tell the true story!

TAKE...THIS...TOUR!!!! The Best Tour We’ve Ever Taken!

By Scott B |

My wife and I took our kids (9 and 11) on a short summer trip to Boston, Salem and Plymouth. We did several tours in all three cities as we always do in every city we visit. This was by far the best tour we’ve ever done and Leo was the best guide we’ve ever had bar none!!! Absolutely fascinating tour that captivated not only we adults but the kids as well...so much so that the kids said Plymouth was their favorite of the three cities. Leo’s depth of knowledge and entertaining ability to convey it made it memorable. You don’t know the true history of Plymouth until you hear Leo. DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!!

Wonderful Tours at The Jenny

By Donald B |

We explored Plymouth for historical markers, statues, and monuments. We also read the text on the markers, statues, and monuments. But got the history of their culture, life, and society from tours with Leo from thejenny.org. He had a knowledge of how things unfolded in the lives of those who became known as Pilgrims. He knew unique details of their lives and their histories. The things that made those fifty-one people so successful in fulfilling their goals. These were my forefathers and mothers. The reasons for a monument to the single women and another for the mothers. A monument to the local native Indian who became their interpreter. I have a much better understanding of their struggles during their first few years. I learned the answer to why and how they had a good relationship with the Indians who lived near them. But learning of their extreme dedication to their biblical worldview was the most key to understanding their character. I highly recommend the tours at TheJenny.org. Leo provided essential elucidation of the Pilgrim’s life and experience. May God continue to bless the efforts and work of The-Jenny.

Don’t miss this Tour!

By Sarah H |

Leo does a fantastic job sharing the true history of the Pilgrims and our nation’s Biblical heritage. If you only have time for one tour this is the one you don’t want to miss! The interpretive center has excellent resources as well. I wish every child in America could experience this tour and understand that what makes America so great are the Christian principles that our forefathers held dear.

Informative Walking Tour of Plymouth

By GalFromWyoming |

My husband and I really enjoyed the walking tour with Leo. He makes history fun. We covered a lot of history as well as a lot of areas of the city.

Must-Do to kick off your Plymouth experience!

By Ben |

There are 4 different tours available and our family chose the "Discover Plymouth's History" tour. It was a great way to kick off our day in Plymouth! Visited the main sites and learned a lot more than we could've had we just walked up to them ourselves. Highly recommend you take this general tour to brush up on your Pilgrim knowledge before doing anything else in town; you'll learn a lot!

A great way to find out about the Pilgrims

By brighton50 |

We loved the museum and the tour by Leo was a brilliant introduction to the Pilgrims. We had lots of questions and he was very knowledgeable.

Most amazing monument

By reecemike |

This has to be the most amazing and impressive monument. I would make it a point to visit. It's off to the beaten path, but worth the stop.

Fantastic tour

By Explorer46069 |

We just loved this tour! Leo our guide was so knowledgeable and personable. We learned about Plymouth in a way that we wouldn’t have been able to on our own. This is definitely a major highlight of our trip.

Must Experience!

By Richard101361 |

Leo, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the true historical events that took place in the Plymouth area. He was personal and inspirational! His tour of the "National Monument to the Forefathers" was exceptional. Every American should take both of their tours. It may be the best tour I have ever taken!

I Learned So Much!

By Cheryl A |

You will learn things from this tour about our country and it's true heritage that you will not hear most places. Leo knows his history. The more he talks the more you want to know. I appreciate Leo & his wife Nancy's passion to share the story about the founding of our country. I would recommend this tour to anyone; especially to families with young children. You will learn the good, the bad and the truth about how our country was founded...very different than what you learned in school. It has caused me to dig deeper to learn more on my own. It has also deepened my appreciation of the suffering and sacrifice our forefathers and their families had to go through and opened my eyes to how the hand of God was involved in the founding of this great nation.

Humbling!

Leo Martin is a walking encyclopedia of historic knowledge! He and his wife Nancy make such a great team! The tour is fascinating and factual, and I can’t fail to mention the National Monument to the Forefathers—stunning and it left me speechless!! No visit to this region should be without Jenney Interpretive Center and the monument on it’s itinerary!!

An Excellent Walking Tour

By PaulHenryOK |

We enjoyed the best walking tour we've ever had with Leo. He does an excellent tour of the Plymouth area sharing his knowledge in an enthusiastic and animated manner. He dresses as a pilgrim, uses a microphone and involves the group in his discussion adding to the enjoyment!

We strongly recommend taking the time to do Leo's walking tour as well as his other tours - you won't be disappointed!

Loved Leo's tours

By Maryann B |

Really enjoyed Leo Martin's walking historical tour and the Forefather's Monument tour. He was informative and really made history come to life.

Excellent tour with Leo, learned a huge amount in a short time!

By Misha S |

We were considering doing a self-guided tour, but at the last minute, we changed our minds and called to make sure spots were open. We made the right choice! Leo is a lot of fun, and taught us so much in so short a time...really connected all the dots in Plymouth and the story of the Pilgrims. It was a very hot day, luckily Leo stopped under or near shade when it was available, so that was very helpful. It's a moderately short loop around the base of the town and waterfront up to the top, tour length (after short indoor intro) was somewhere in the ballpark of an hour and a half or so. Absolutely worth it, Leo was a pleasure to learn from.

Awesome!!

By masgregerson |

I learned so much and Leo is the best. Leo does personal tours of the the Plymouth and the Forefathers Monument. Highly recommended!!

Great tour, outstanding guide

By Cides75 |

Great historical tour, very informative, easy to follow
The house-museum has a lot of information including a video with a lot of information
Leo is a well informed and passionate tour guide who loves what he does and makes people understand very well the Pilgrims history in Plymouth

Leo is a phenomenon

By April v |

I was fortunate to get onto Leo's 9.30am tour and enjoyed every minute. I got there by the skin of my teeth and having parked our car in the free carpark between theJenney Museum and the duck pond I saw a sign for the tour tickets which took me down to a gift shop rather than back to the main road where the Jenney Museum is situated. Nancy, Leo's wife, sells the tickets from inside the museum. Anyway, having paid, the tour toke over an hour and was chock full of interesting facts and history. My son (21) and daughter (23) loved the tour too. It was a great introduction to The Pilgrim Fathers for us Brits.

Best in Plymouth

By Craig |

Leo was a fantastic historian and great story teller. Go here for the actual history! His wife was awesome as well, DO NOT MISS!

It's another good stop

By Russ F |

There is a nice gift shop with losts of local treats and you're not olbigated to sit through the educational videos. You can make this a quick stop or make it a longer visit.

This is a very educaitonal stop in the historic district.

Warning: Heavy Religious Right Leanings

By Katharyn K |

It was a lovely day for a walk around Plymouth so I decided to join a tour with Leo, hoping to expand my knowledge of our Pilgrim forefathers and mothers. Since I had a little time before the tour began, I took a look around the museum.  The present exhibit is The Abolitionists, and what the fruits of their work brought to present day USA.  The display pictured Condoleeza Rice, Thurgood Marshall, and Clarence Thomas as examples of people who were able to influence American society because of what the Abolitionists fought for in the past.  I was incredulous not to see former President Barack Obama represented!  Not able to discuss this with Leo or Nancy before the tour, I promised myself to make a point after the tour.  Since I am a docent in the Native American exhibits at the Milwaukee Public Museum, I paid particular attention to the interpretation of the European contact with the natives.  I heard a lot of "might makes right" and "those who own the land have the power" and the Pilgrims "helped" the natives come back to the land after they left because of disease.  Truly a white man's twist to history. After the tour I brought up the fact that President Obama wasn't represented in the gifts of the Abolitionists display.  I was told by Leo that he only put up people who brought the country together.  Asking how Clarence Thomas could be included, Leo responded, "He's a good man."  With that I realized I was trying to talk to a very right-wring political person, and my experience is to shut up and walk away.  Now that I look at the Trip Adviser reviews, I see other references to "heavy Christian leanings" and "this is a Christian Heritage Tour".  Shame on me for not doing my homework before I signed up for this tour.  I certainly hope Leo & Nancy are not receiving any federal or state funding for this so-called museum or tour.

Best way to get the highlights of Plymouth

By GSgroove |

Just finished a visit with Leo. Wonderful tour and delightful guide. Excellent historical tour, hitting all the highlights. Pleasant and entertaining. A must do, better than anything else in Plymouth.

I love Leo

By Xyst E |

5, Leo is very kind and informative. His attitude and charisma made the trip so much more fun and educational. It made it so much more engaging to the teens and adults alike.

Monumental

By Marianne D |

Combine this tour with the movie Monumental which can be found at the Jenny Museum in downtown Plymouth. It’s an eye-opening experience. I didn’t know about it until Kirk Cameron pointed it out by way of his movie.

Good museum of early US history and the abolitionist cause

By LightAleCavalier |

"Small but beautifully put together" is a good description of the museum .The owner is a fascinating guide to all of Plymouth and its history. The anti-slavery room is especially poignant.
A must-visit in Plymouth.

What a tour.

By Elliot P. |

My family and I went to this tour, and we were quickly discouraged by the woman talking on the phone, this was probably due to them not expecting us because this was the off season. We booked a tour at three o’clock and the guide, Leo was amazing. He told us everything and was extremely knowledgeable. We were told about thinks that we could never have known. When we returned we liked the tour so much that we bought Leo’s book. Even with the lady originally on the phone this was 100% a 5 star visit.

Following in the Pilgrim’s footsteps

By Scotfree A |

Leo very kindly took just the two of us yesterday on his amazing walking tour of Plymouth. He was great fun, very knowledgable and a true story teller.

Fantastic Tours!!

By b4fl |

We enjoyed our two tours with Leo from the Jenny Museum. We did the Plymouth walking tour and the Forefathers Monument tour. Both were very enjoyable and extremely educational. Even if you have seen all the tourist stops in Plymouth you should still take these tours because you will have missed so much by not knowing the full stories behind each stop or monument and Leo knows all those stories. Tour prices are very reasonable and the Jenny Museum has exhibits inside that are very interesting and educational also. Don't miss this!!

Small but useful

By MrsCusack |

Came here after a walking tour by the very proficient Leo. The video demo of the mill was interesting as well as the film of the cranberry harvest.

Excellent

By Gregory C |

Excellent! We enjoyed the Christian Heritage Tour along with visiting their bookstore. We would highly recommend both!

Great visit

By mattk_97 |

So glad we did this. The tour was incredible with so much history and views of the city. Peter made it come alive there was alot of walking but we saw the bulk of the original colony or at least where it originally was. Highly recommend it just be sure to reserve well in advance.

BEST part of our NE trip says our TEENAGER!!

By GritsNgrin s |

On our trip to New England we only had an afternoon to spend in Plymouth. All 3 of us were so glad this tour is how we chose to spend our time but especially our 17 year old son who said this was the best part of the trip so far.
Leo does a great job of bringing history to life and we were impressed not only with his extensive knowledge but also with how he engaged all of the young people on the tour.
We went on the “Discover Plymouth’s History walking tour”, which also turned out to be an enjoyable leg-stretcher complete with sea breeze and great way to get to see Plymouth Rock and other historic landmarks.
Leo & Nancy’s hospitality is outstanding and the museum and charming gristmill are the cherry on top to the perfect Plymouth tour. Thanks to you both for making our short time in Plymouth so memorable and worthwhile!

Summer visit with teens

By 51JennyS51 |

Great tour for all ages- highly informative and Leo moves at a comfortable pace around Salem’s historical district. The tour absolutely helped to bring the history to life.

The Highlight of our Trip!

By Sue P |

We did two tours with Leo Martin - the National Monument to the Forefathers and the Walking Tour. Both were excellent. We only had one day in Plymouth and packed in as much as we could - these two tours plus Plimouth Patuxet and the Mayflower. Our tours were definitely the highlight of our day.

We thought perhaps we didn't need a guide for the monument, but fortunately our friend insisted we book this tour. We are so glad we listened! We would have missed so much. Leo's narration certainly deepened our experience.

We highly recommend these tours!

Great Experience and Great Walking Tour!

By guentzelr G |

We really enjoyed our Discover Plymouth Walking Tour! Our guide was wonderful and we learned a lot about the Pilgrims an the history of Plymouth. Definitely recommend!

A little early American History is good for everyone.

By Liz P |

The statue is impressive. It claims to be the largest statue carved from a single piece of granite. It tells the story of why the Puritans and "pilgrims" came to the New World.

Highlight of our trip to the Boston Area

By HudsRoman |

There really are no sufficient words to express how grateful we (my husband and I) are for the time Leo and his wife, Nancy, graciously shared w/ us and our 3 teen girls. The knowledge/history Leo shared during the Forefathers Momument Tour in 45 minutes was well beyond anything our girls had heard in years of taking "history" in school. We then went back to the Jenney museum, spent ttime viewing the items there and again just spending time w/ Leo and Nancy. Both clearly have an unwaivering love and faith in God, and this country. The visit there is one our family will cherish for years. Our only regret is not getting there earlier, spending more time, having taken one of the other tours w/ Leo. Do not miss this.

Fantastic! You have GOT to take these tours!

By Lydia M |

We visited last week and took both tours offered. The Plymouth's History walking tour and the Forefathers Monument tour were phenomenal! I honestly cannot express the depth and meaning behind the information and perspective provided through these tours. Leo was a fantastic historian and guide, and the gift shop they have at the museum has so many wonderful books it was hard to choose which to purchase! Please take the time to do both tours. You will not be disappointed or come away without learning a thing or two at minimum!

You can't miss this!

By Doug M |

If you can only do one thing...this walking tour is it. You cant miss Leo Martin. He is funny, engaging, and some of what he said was absolutley profound. I am so glad my kids got to hear him! What a treasure we found in going to the Jenney Museum.

History comes alive

By Passport600724 |

I love history and if you do too you will love this place. The go in-depth into the history of the building and the pilgrims

Awesome walking tour with Leo

By Brian W |

My wife and I took the walking tour with Leo with our 4 month old in a stroller and it was perfect. Leo keeps it interesting, exciting, and informative with nonstop details about the Mayflower, its passengers, and their interaction with the native. His ability to answer (what I thought were) pretty incisive questions was incredible. I'd highly recommend catching his tour for anyone with $15 and ~1.5 hrs to spare in Plymouth. Thanks!

Far exceeded all expectations

By Danw B |

What a great day!
We started with the Monument and booked a tour with Leo Martin. Without his expertise, we would have missed so much detail- I had no idea of the significance of this National treasure!. After, we went to the Jenny for a Q&A with Mr.Martin. We learned so much and had a blast. A great big thank you!

Informative walking Tour and history about first settlers.

By Candy20010 |

Wonderful historic walking tour about the early pilgrims. Tour was around 90 minutes and a highlight of our visit to Plymouth. informative and worth our time in Plymouth.

A guided walk into Plymouth's - and America's - history

By Fastenyourbelt |

This one-hour tour was the highlight of our two days in Plymouth. In a one-hour stroll we covered two-thirds of the town's highlights and learned the basics of the town's place in history - all told with guide Leo's well-practiced humor. Recommended as a launching point for your visit to Plymouth and its Pilgrims.

A must in Plymouth!

By Sal B |

We loved the Discovery Plymouth's History Tour! Leo is a remarkable man and his passion for history and love of country and God made for a very inspiring tour. We felt like his friends, not just another group of strangers he was leading around town. The tour left us with a new level of gratitude for our nation's forefathers and with a renewed hope for the future. We highly recommend this tour!

Great educational tour

By Kim |

The guides at the Jenney Mill museum were very informative and enthusiastic about sharing with us. Very interesting from both a historical and technical perspective.

Do not miss!

By Jackie S |

Omg this was such a great tour. This place looks a little iffy on its website because you have to actually call them on their phone to book the tour. Seems weird but DO IT! I called and left a message the night before our tour and the lady texted me the next morning that we could join the 9:30 am tour. Super accommodating as we were a few minutes late and they waited the tour for us.
Anyway, Leo is the tour guide and his wife is in the shop and museum. This was an awesome walking tour of Plymouth. This guide really knows his history and is super engaging. He is definitely a living example of pilgrim pride and independence. He doesn’t just tell you that they came over here, he makes you live the trip and then tells you why they came. Seriously could not have asked for a better tour. And it’s only $15! Go. You will be so glad you did. We were in our way down from Cape Cod and just decided at the last minute to go and boy am I glad we did!!

Excellent tour

By alex s |

My wife and I decided to take this tour and we were very glad we did. Leo is great and very informative. We learned so much about the pilgrims and our nation history. A must do when in town. Will not be disappointed

A Must Do Tour!

By Teresa G |

What a great tour! Leo was EXCELLENT. He was so knowledgeable and well-spoken.
We had a terrific experience and it was wonderful meeting Leo and his wife! Two beautiful people

Love Leo!

By wendy S |

Leo and Nancy, his wife who runs the Jenney Museum are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet! Nancy went above and beyond the call of duty in an effort to meet my requests. Leo is passionate about the history of the Pilgrims and he's absolutely fascinating to listen to...I would have taken back to back tours if they had been available that day.

The Jenney Museum is worth your attention. One room has a visual depiction of the individuals who arrived here on the Mayflower and an adjacent visual depiction of who survived the first winter. There is a back room with a photographic and written small exhibit on the abolitionist movement.

From Mayflower to Abolition

By Patricia G |

This is a very small museum -3 rooms and an accompanying walking tour. I was initially going to take the walking tour, as it is the highest rated event on trip-advisor. As I was feeling unwell, I opted to simply visit the museum.

There is a 45 minute video tour that was excellent! It was a very nice editorial on colonial life and the establishment of democracy, free trade, and the establishment of economy at the start of our country. It was a one man narration, I am sure similar to what one would get on the walking tour. I learned so much that I sat through the entire thing.

There is also an enlightening display on abolition and Plymouth's role in the underground railroad. Both the proprietors took time to discuss the display and explained how there is a prevalence of slavery in modern times hiding right beneath our noses.

Strange political agenda

By Amber |

Unfortunatly i have to give a poor review soley because I don't agree with "Leo the husband's" politics. While very nice, knowledgable and well intentioned, both Leo and his wife Nancy are very right-wing politically and I believe the tour reflected this. At almost every turn Leo threw in little zingers to provide examples of how the pilgrims and even current day plymouth prove his political views like how separation of church and state is rediculous and doesn't work. The first hint I had was the gift shop as it was sprinkled with conservative items like biographies of tea party politicians.

Overall I think the tour was entetaining and informative, just not sure what i was learning. If this aligns with your politics you will love it. If not, it's probably still worth it just not better than plymouth plantation.

Step back in time

By rab2012 |

Leo,an older local historian takes you through the streets of old Plymouth-explaining the full story of the mayflower, the local natives, that first thanksgiving/harvest as if he had been there-you pass each needed historical site as its weaved into the story-we walked with him for 2 hours, while he was wearing the garb of the times on a crisp fall day!
He gave me exactly what I needed to hear and experience about Plymouth!

Plymouth history tour

By Janeeb1 |

Nice 1.25 hour walking tour. Leo the guide was very knowledgeable and had a very pleasant interaction with the tour group.
Learned a lot about early Plymouth history in a short time, via a nice walk.

Plymouths Best Kept Secret

By Leanna D |

We are giving it 5 stars
Couples/May 20
Plymouth's best kept secret!

Come here with an open mind if you are interested in hearing the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about our nation's Godly heritage that we so seldom have an opportunity to hear.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of meeting Leo and his lovely wife, Nancy, while in Plymouth/New England. We enjoyed visiting many of our nation's fascinating historical sites while in the region, but Leo's "Discovering Plymouth's History" presentation was a highlight, if not THE highlight of our vacation!! It was so refreshing to hear the unbiased, WELL DOCUMENTED, unopinionated truth about our nation's Christian roots. We were in such awe of his knowledge, we would have listened to every presentation and tour he had to offer had time permitted. My husband and I are extremely grateful to Leo for the bold stand he takes every day to proclaim the truth-regardless of the backlash! I think that the same Spirit that guided the Pilgrims here in the first place is alive and well in this kind and courageous man!

Spend a couple hours walking through Plymouth to get an overview of the attractions

By Stacy B |

This was a much smaller museum than I expected, so I wouldn't go just for the museum itself. However, the walking tour was good and I would recommend that. The guide was great and the tour gives a overview of all the city attractions. Bring a camera and walking shoes.

Outstanding Christian/family-based historical tour

By tallmanscalendar |

Leo and Nancy have created a wonderful family and faith-based museum and accompanying tours of Plymouth are not to be missed. Leo brings this 4-century town to life. In costume and animated, we now know more about that period and years to follow than we ever did. Kudos to these two dedicated people.

Be sure to see Leo's presentation!

By XerkUSA |

We viewed the Forefathers Monument on our own (it was really hot when we were there so we went in the evening) and then went to the Jenney Interpretive Center and saw Leo's PowerPoint and presentation about the monument. We loved it and honestly, we appreciated the monument so much more! The center was also nice and had nice souvenirs. I would recommend it highly!

Excellent walking tour

By Terri W |

Museum owner Leo led a most informative tour of Plymouth. He introduced himself to each of the 3 couples and tried to highlight details to interest each one. He was obviously telling stories he had researched and understood. He related intriguing facts and figures the entire 75 minutes of the circuitous route. It was money well spent!

A Must Do Tour

By julianaweiler1 |

Our family visited the Jenney Museum today and left feeling so pleased that we did. Our 12 and 15 year old children also agreed that it was the highlight of Plymouth! The museum itself is very thoughtfully put together. Our favorite part was the tour with Leo. He is so informative in sharing details of the past as we toured different historical sites all over Plymouth. The tour is non biased and factual and really made us wish many others would visit this museum to learn from history! Thank you Nancy and Leo!

Engaging Tour

By Meg L |

My young adult daughter and I took the tour and had a great time! Leo is funny and very knowledgable about the inner workings of the Pilgrim community at that time. We learned several new and interesting things. It was fascinating to hear how they established many of the founding principles of our country. Some by trial and error and some resulting from the persecution they suffered. Examples would be their system of land ownership and the necessity of separation of church and state. Not once did we encounter any political agenda from Leo. Enjoyed it greatly!

Amazing Walking Tour

By Abigail T |

We LOVED this tour. The guide is super knowledgeable, interesting to listen to and overall fantastic. We even did the tour with a 3 month old and a toddler! They managed just fine, we did have to carry the toddler a bit because of the walking but it worked out. The guide shares the details of the life of pilgrims you really want to know. We came here just after visiting the plantation and agreed emphatically that we wished we had skipped the plantation all together and just done the tour. It was that good. Do not miss this tour. Worth every penny.

When you take this tour with Leo Martin, you will cherish it forever!

By CaptainDG |

Best tour in Plymouth... Jenny Museum has walking tour with Leo Martin to National Monument to the Forefathers. Only one-hour, about $33. Rated #4 out of 54 attractions in Plymouth! Our family has taken this tour several times, and each and every time it reminds us of our nations founding principles, values, liberty, faith. Be awed... do this spectacular tour! How good is it? Countless visitors to Plymouth rate the Plymouth Rock as disappointing, and the National Monument to the Forefathers tour as fulfilling! Again, rated 4 out of 54 attractions! Please note that it is Leo Martin the Tour Guide that makes all the difference! Leo is almost re-incarnated as a Pilgrim of the Mayflower Era, and his inspiring talk is a must for history and biography fans!

Great Museum and Walking Toir!

By Rosemary G |

We really enjoyed our Discover Plymouth Walking Tour and our visit to The Jenney. Our guide, Leo, was very friendly and entertaining. We learned a lot about the Pilgrims and the history of Plymouth. Definitely recommend a visit to the Jenney as well as taking a walking tour!

Leo and his tour are fantastic!

By Brandi F |

Our family enjoyed Leo and his tour very much. He is animated and friendly on top of being highly knowledgeable. It is obvious he loves the history and wants to share it. The walking tour is perfect to see the sites and experience the vantage points, while it is not too long for our older family members to keep up. They enjoyed it and the slow, steady pace. Highly recommended for a beginning to Plymouth.

Museum tour and walking tour

By Ruth and Tom |

We would have been missing so much of the history and flavor of Plymouth had we not taken the walking tour with Leo. It was the highlight of our week in the area and capped a fabulous vacation in the Massachusetts.

The Jenny and a Wealth of Information

By Paul T |

Attended three tours in one day. Extremely enlightening, Each tour 1-1.5 hours filled with information regarding the Pilgrims, early Plymouth and the impact on the founding of America.

While I had read books and listened to books on tape regarding these topics, I heard so much information that is not readily available. Leo Martin is a wealth of information and uses original documents as his sources.

I higly recommend this museum and its tours.

History from the sources in an enjoyable way

By Steven S |

Our walking tour with Leo was fantastic! The tour was well suited for all ages. Our younger and older children all enjoyed it. Leo has a great knowledge of the primary sources and tells the story from the original sources in such an enjoyable way. When we return we would love to do another tour by Leo!

Don't miss it!

By karib94 |

This is a fabulous way to begin your visit to Plymouth. Leo is an amazing storyteller and quite informative. The walk is easy and takes about an hour and a half. It was quite hot when we went but it was still one of our favorite parts of Plymouth! I can't wait to read Leo's book!!!

Best part of Plymouth

Exceptional Must Do in Plymouth, MA

By WI Julie |

Tour guide Leo’s historical accuracy and retelling of pilgrim info I never knew or pondered moved me to tears! I’ll never again take Thanksgiving for granted as just a holiday. Money well spent!

Great Atmosphere

By John C |

Better known as Lucioso's Pub, as most folks who go there go to eat. A welcome diversion from the Museum which is quite n interesting site worth viewing.

This restaurant is really good, with a full bar. The staff is terrific.. The food is excellent bar quality fare that will leave you satisfied and ready to see more of historic Plymouth. Excellent pizza, wings, and a fairly large menu. Most evenings have some kind of entertainment. It is a family oriented site both from the museum and restrauant.

Great tour!!

By JanetGP5 |

My husband and I did this 1.5 hr., tour with Leo today. He was awesome!! He wore a pilgrim attire and was very informative not to mention fun! His wife gave us a warm great when we walked in and was very nice! We would highly recommend this tour. We shall return one day for Thanksgiving as he suggested.

superior tour

Exceptional

By BLMerce |

Do not miss this wonderful hands on exhibit. Make sure you’re there when they are scheduled to grind. Our grandsons learned so much today.

Outstanding

By Mark M |

Leo & Nancy's tour from the Jenny Museum about our Plymouth heritage MADE Plymouth a favorite spot on our trip. I'd do this over Plimouth Plantation.

Small, but most interesting.

By Stuart S |

Don't miss the video presentation of the Mayflower story. Narrated by the museum's proprietor, the 40 minute video is most informative and keeps an adult's attention. It's right next to the Grist Mill, so you can tour both without getting back in your car.

History at its finest!

By TAwbrey |

The monument tour with Leo was wonderful! Receiving a history lesson by someone that loves the subject and has devoted himself to teaching others is a great experience.
The Jenney museum is a beautiful piece of history. The The story of the Abolitionist room and the room showing the loss of life that our forefathers experienced that first winter are stark reminders of the sacrifices they all made that have allowed us to to live in the liberty they provided. I needed these lessons. We all need them.

Fantastic walking tour

By Brett H |

Leo is an amazing tour guide that is clearly passionate about the history of Plymouth. A perfect way to learn (re-learn) the history of this area. Highly recommend! (Family with kids ages 14 & 11).

We went on a tour yesterday. Leo, the tour guide is very knowledgeable about the history of Plymouth and the pilgrims. Was a perfect day and we enjoyed it very much. His wife Nancy who was in the gift shop is sooooo. Ice and friendly. The gift shop and museum are very quaint with tons of info. Will return again

Well worth the time and money when in Plymouth

By RDGD |

The day we arrived was after a huge windstorm that left trees down and a windy cold day. Not good for walking, however Leo called an audible and presented his tour along with power point presentation to the four us without leaving the museum. We were extremely impressed with his ability to recreate the true story of the Pilgrims and Plimouth Plantations in a way that inspired us both about these founders of our nation as well as Leo's passion for freedom of religion and its importance today as then.

True history is told

By Walter S |

A wonderful experience! The tour guide is very knowledgeable on Plymouth's early history and highlighted very important points in the Pilgrim journey in Plymouth. You will trod the places they did, as well as learn important truths you weren't taught in the public school system. Two thumbs up!

God was interwoven in all that they did.

By LexiJack F |

Leo Martin is a fascinating storyteller! He made history come alive. This experience was the Best part of our Plymouth stay.Do Not Miss!I went with my elder parents and we enjoyed the non-walking tours.

Highlight of our trip

By LaVonne P |

Leo and Nancy provided the most knowledgeable tour. Our Faith is so important to us. Hearing the history of the Christian convictions of our forefathers provided in such detail made the history come alive.

One of the best attractions in Plymouth - God friendly

By Kathleen A |

This place is run by a married couple - Leo and Nancy. What a joy they are to listen to in taking us back to the 1600s - back to when God was the center of their lives. You need to make this stop a priority. Worth the trip in spite of the construction inconvenience. Note: There is heavy construction in the area due to their 400 year celebration in 2020.

Don't miss this tour!!!

By Shannon B |

Our high school seniors from American Christian School in New Jersey traveled to Plymouth on a senior class trip to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the first Thanksgiving. This tour and our incredible tour guide Leo was one of the main highlights of our adventure.. We had about 15 teenagers with us, and he managed to keep everyone so engaged and really made the immersion of history exciting!!! We all learned so much from the tour and also the videos and displays! I recommend this tour to everyone who comes to the area- regardless of age / education level!!! Amazing experience!!

This tour was a privilege not to be missed!

By delliott12812 |

Leo is a living legend, a true gem, we were sorry when our tour ended! It was a privilege to be given a tour by an historian who was able to bring Plymouth colony and the Pilgrims to life in such detail it was as if he knew them personally. This is not a boring classroom lecture right out of a textbook. It was full of details about their daily lives, the struggles to survive and the stories we were not taught in school. As a descendant of two Mayflower families, I very much appreciated Leo’s knowledge of each Pilgrim individually. It was humbling to be able to walk in their footsteps where they lived, worked, raised the families that eventually led to my own and so many others. Leo did an amazing job of describing the strength required and the hardships endured by the colonists as they set down the roots that helped build this country. Do not miss this tour while in Plymouth if you really want to learn about it’s history and not the mainstream story you were fed in grade school. Thank you Leo!!

"Great tours. The true Freedom Trail". Sorry Boston.

By Bryan A |

We took 2 tours-Discovering Plymouth's History is a good starting point. You'll learn a fact based history of our founding fathers that Public schools skip over. Learn about Plymouth's early mistakes-corrections and the effects they had to our Nation. Take a lunch break. Forefathers Monument tour in the afternoon. Investigate the source of America's blessings.

Great Tour of Plymouth

By Emm Cee |

This was a great tour. It was good for our whole family. We had 4 adults and 6 kids (ranging in age from 5-11) with us and we all enjoyed it. It was great information and we learned a lot. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Plymouth.

Little piece of history

By Swedishtomcat |

This is a small museum but packs in a lot about the history of the pilgrims. The video we were shown is as good as a live presentation. Walking tours are also offered, but we’d just missed one.

Great Intro to Plymouth

By UKgrandej |

Great 75-minute walking tour followed by about 15-minute talk & video about the mill. Guide Leo was humerous & highly informative. A lot of history and a pretty easy walk (one uphill stretch).

Top-notch historical overview of Plymouth and the Pilgrims

By ihispanic |

I took the Discover Plymouth’s History walking tour with Leo Martin. To be honest, I was a little leery going into it, as there seems to be a certain ideological bent common to many of the reviews. I just wanted a historical, secular overview of Plymouth and the Pilgrims. Fortunately, that's what I got. I'm guessing that Leo's got some personal opinions that I wouldn't agree with. But, that did not prevent me from enjoying the tour and does not prevent me from recommending it. I'm glad I did this before visiting Plimoth Settlement. Well worth the time and money.

Amazing

By CEKZ |

Leo Martin has a wonderful museum and store to complement his fantastic storytelling, recounting the history of the pilgrims. Be ready to learn from Mr. Martin and from the lessons these courageous souls left us. We highly recommend any and all of the tours.

Fabulous tour. Best guide ever

By hdburton |

We visited with 8 adults, two young children and two infants. Cold, sunny December day. Leo and Nancy were nice enough to accommodate us, And Leo took us on a memorable, fun and information-packed tour of Plymouth’s main sites. We could not possibly have had a better guide or experience. Highly, highly recommended!! Thanks Leo and Nancy.

Must do in Plymouth

By WorldTraveler6784 |

We had a group tour planned with Leo and this was by far the highlight of our three day trip to Plymouth. We could only do the tour of Plymouth but I highly recommend any of his tours. He is an expert historian and story teller. He made our trip not only memorable but also knowledgeable. Thank you Leo!

The BEST tours in New England (and the world???)

By Freedom O |

Absolutely the BEST part about our trip to New England. This is a MUST see and do with Leo as your guide. The true history of our nation is found here and I'm not sure you can find it anywhere else. If you want to learn about what really happened in England and Holland and then Plymouth, and what really happened in the hearts of our forefathers and mothers to lead them here, go out of your way to come see Leo and Nancy at the Jenney. You will not be disappointed.

Great place and people

By colleen w |

Leo and Nancy were great. Very informative and interesting. They have devoted their lives to sharing the pilgrim story and the faith they had. I highly recommend the tour.

Learn the true, powerful ideas that formed the DNA of America.

By scottaD5420KW |

Outstanding. Leo (the guide) is a treasure. He understands the true and powerful ideas that the Pilgrims brought, which formed the DNA of the United States, in a way very few people do. He is also careful to separate truth from popular myth and narrative regarding the relationship between the Pilgrims and the Native peoples. Highly Recommended.

Dont miss a tour with Leo!

By PursuingTheEsculent |

Leo Marin is a wonderful historian and is very passionate while leading his Plymouth tours. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Pilgrim tours in Plymouth, MA

By Julie Wilson |

Our group of 4 spent 3 wonderful days in Plymouth. One of the highlights was our wonderful Pilgrim tour guide, Leo Martin. We took 4 tours with him. He was so knowledgeable and told the full, correct so of the Pilgrims: their covenant, sacrifice, and commitment to come and stay in America. Leo’s wife, Nancy, was a joy also! I can highly recommend doing these tours.

Best part of our trip so far

By timmerml |

The passion and expertise of local history by the Martin's is extraordinary. I've been on many walking tours, but none better than Leo's. And very affordable!

Great tour!!!! Yes!!!!

By faeriestar123 |

Ok, so first, let me address the previous poster who said she didn't appreciate Leo, the tour guide's, conservative agenda. I want to say right now, that I am as liberal as they come, so that review kinda scared me a bit. But we did the tour today, and I have to say....button down Betty! Geez! He was FINE. Bette than fine, he was awesome! He was sweet, informative, friendly, funny, attentive, and moving. It was worth way more money than we paid, so we also made a donation to the museum and tipped the guide. Thanks Leo!!!

Actual Working Grist Mill

By JAMESknoxville |

This museum features an actual working Grist Mill with the tour host giving thorough explanations of how it works and why it was originally used. A real downside (and why I gave it a 3 rating) is they only operate it on weekends and that detracts from the experience. Otherwise this is an excellent historiucal stop.

Excellent Tour!

By Keith L |

I don't write reviews often because I am fairly laid back about things. So when I write one, it is because the service was of incredible quality. Leo, the tour guide, knows his history well. The tour is about 1.25 hours long, and about a mile and a half in length. You will see and hear about certain famous stops, like the Plymouth Rock. You will also hear a side of history that few do from a man that obviously loves what he does. These are stories, woven together to capture your imagination, and broaden your mind and heart. Cannot say enough good things about Leo and this tour!

AMAZING

By James H |

Having Leo as a tour guide. We had our Senior Class and he was rhe favorite of all of them!! Cant wait to go back.

Leo should be a national treasure

By Jennifer C |

Leo is a treasure! He’s more of a historian than a tour guide. We absolutely cherished our time with him and his positive Christian perspective. It’s frustrating to listen to history tours that ignore or gloss over the faith of our founding fathers. Leo covers everything. He’s extremely passionate as he shares, and it does not feel memorized. We are so grateful we have this opportunity with our teenagers.

Outstanding tour which makes history come alive!

By Phillip O |

Highly recommended as both entertaining and educational! We did the indoor tour and enjoyed it immensely. Leo is a historian who has devoted himself to study of the Pilgrims and their times and is also one of the most engaging speakers we have ever heard. Well worth your time and the small price of admission to stop here....most highly recommended for all ages! Loved it!

This is a great walking tour!

By Robert Ashley |

Leo is great. He knows his material. He is very friendly. And he presents his information in an entertaining manner. Ask him questions. He loves to share his passion.

Excellent Tour of the Monument of the Forefathers

By Rozanne |

Leo is marvelous! This monument needs to be known to the masses as much IF NOT MORE than the Statue of Liberty....It's THAT important; and let LEO tell you all about it. Don't go to Plymouth and miss this.

Check web-site! Make reservations!!

By Sherry N |

We are unable to rate the tour because it didn’t happen!!
After reading the positive reviews we were all jazzed to make an afternoon of it. We arrived around 2:00 PM to find out the last tour had left at 1:30 and we had needed to call ahead to reserve a spot!!
Nancy was all apologies, but the brakes had been hit and there was nothing that could be done about it.

So word to the wise, DON’T go by the Trip Advisor info; call for the exact tour times. Only one older gentleman does them, so it’s not a walk-in thing.

Nancy, the wife of the tour guide, did tell us they were seriously considering an audio walking tour in the near future. We would have taken that as opposed to nothing today!

We’re giving it a 1 only because we didn’t do the tour.

Absolutely great tour

By Jason C |

What a wonderful tour. We were looking for something that covered the Monuments in Plymouth and Leo delivers with such an amazing amount of knowledge and insight! Did both the walking tour and the National Monument. Highly recommend both. Thank you Leo!

Best walking tour!!

By Steve W |

A must do attraction while your in Plymouth.
A very informative tour of the early years of the Pilgrims.
Learn all about their lives and culture.

Great Tour

By mrt1955 |

Happened by Plymouth and wanted to see what we could in a couple of hours. Went on this walking tour and POW!...mission accomplished.

Our tour guide Leo is a treasure. He knew it all and presented it with a flair.

This is a must do part of a Plymouth visit!

Thorough, accurate, interesting presentation of Pilgrim history!

By Mark D |

What a wonderful find! If you want a more personal, in-depth, accurate, and interesting description and tour of the Pilgrim influence in Plymouth, MA, and on the total history of our great country, The Jenney Museum is a MUST to put on your travel itinerary!

The museum itself is located a stone's throw from the actual location of historic Plymouth Plantation and its main street. The museum offers a plethora of time-period information through its many drawings/photos and memorabilia displayed on its walls, as well as a wide array of books, CDs/DVDs, and other resources that give further knowledge about this time period for those interested in digging deeper!

The Jenney Museum also offers excellent tours of Plymouth. Walking tours for those able, and a DVD-tour at the museum for those who would prefer to stay seated. We chose to do the walking tours - of the Jenney mill (Plymouth's first mill), of the historic Plantation area, and of the Founding Father's monument. Wow! Very compelling tours, offering an accurate portrayal of life as a pilgrim, and how very much the Pilgrims influenced the course of America and its government!

We cannot say there was anything we didn't like about it -- The Jenney Museum was excellent in every way, including friendly and personable staff! We recommend you do all three tours - which will take you about 3 hours. Bring good walking shoes, though the walking is not difficult walking, as there is a good balance between walking and standing to listen to the tour guide. (And this tour guide, Leo, KNOWS HIS STUFF! WOW!) Allow another hour, perhaps, to peruse the many photos and information on its walls! And bring extra money -- you WILL want to purchase books and/or CD/DVD resources to take with you on the road! The visit to Plymouth will pique your interest in this period of our country's history, and you WILL want to study about it further!

This museum was the highlight of our trip to Plymouth!!

So Happy We Did This

By MelodieE |

Checked Plymouth off the bucket list and this tour with Leo was certainly the way to do it. He was so informative and made you feel as if it was going on right now. He knows his History and so glad that it was shared with us. Thanks Leo!

Wonderful History of Plymouth!

By Tom M |

Nancy and Leo run this fabulous museum. Leo gives a walking tour of Plymouth. Much of his information comes right from William Bradford's writings. He has great enthusiasm and passion as he walks from site to site. Nancy is full of kindness and could not have helped us enough. We love history, and we love Nancy and Leo at the Jennie Museum. Highly recommend this as your first stop in Plymouth. Call ahead to book your walking tour, and spend time in the museum.

Leo's Brilliant Walking Tour!

By HayJayEm |

Unfortunately i didn't have time to view the museum but i did take the walking tour with Leo, and what am absolute pleasure it was. The walk wasn't very taxing so don't worry about being too tired, but it was jam packed with information about Plymouth and its vital history. As an Englander i was fascinated to see and hear about where the pilgrims lived and to hear about their struggles.
Leo was a gold mine of information, interesting and in depth and therefore well worth the money.
A fabulous tour in a fabulous part of New England
Thanks Leo and Nancy :)

Beyond disappointing

By Ellen G |

This Jenney Museum tour was beyond disappointing —— and into disturbing — due to the overly opinionated and non-fact based monologue from the “guide.” We asked for and received our money back.

Diamond in the Rough, must visit if you're in Massachussets

By Adam M |

Don't bother with any other Plymouth tour. Leo and his wife are pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable. It is a shame that much of what they teach is not taught in our school system.

It was exciting and illuminating to hear the accounts Leo shared as he walked us around Plymouth Plantation.

Highlight of our Boston/CapeCod trip.

Favorite part of our time in Plymouth!

By jmcrisco |

This tour was extremely informative and interesting! My husband and I took both of his tours and would highly recommend them! We would also do them again if we have the chance to. Leo is very knowledgeable and brings the history of the area alive!

Exactly as described by previous reviews

By Kyla W |

Excellent walking tour and history on Plymouth and the pilgrims, their faith and politics. This also included some history walls and a small gift shop.

My experience

By Zacharia D |

My experience was wonderful they are such nice people and he really is a good guy and knows a lot about history

The Jenney and Leo Martin- Best Plymouth Tours Available

By Jae W |

Highest recommendation possible. 5 yours with Leo Martin & The Jenney. True Pilgrim history, no spin

Forefathers Monument Tour

By Reid |

As a homeschooling family learning about US history, we decided to do Leo’s tour of the Forefathers Monument during our recent field trip to Plymouth. I appreciated Leo’s obvious love and enthusiasm for the Pilgrim’s story. We loved learning about the faith of the pilgrims as well as the symbolism of the monument. We were there with 7 adults and 9 children’s ages 1-9 and I also greatly appreciated Leo’s patience with the little ones. Thank you for a wonderful tour!

Don't miss any tour that LEO leads

By KaykayHS |

Before we came to Plymouth, we scouted out the "things to do" and "don't miss" activities of this lovely town. On the top of the list was the Jenney Museum along with tours by Leo. We reserved our spot for a walking tour of Plymouth and then a tour of the Founders Monument a short drive away. The musuem and Grist mill are a lovely stop but Leo's tours are amazing. I came away in total awe of our founding families and their perservance.

A diamond in the rough!

By P B |

This little gem is a filled with historical wonders! Leo and Nancy are wonderful hosts and are extremely knowledgeable. You will find they also have many interesting souvenirs and books in their gift shop. You won't be disappointed.

A “must do”!!

By Missy E |

We so appreciated the depth of knowledge and thorough explanation of Plymouth and the Piligrims throughout the tours. Each of us—including our four kids—learned so much from Leo and highly recommend both the Monument and walking tours as each provided such rich insight. Thanks so very much!

Leo’s Love of the Subject is Contagious!

By randallmacarthur2017 |

Leo provided a thought-provoking history of the pilgrims at Plymouth that exuded his love for the subject and that love is contagious! We also appreciated the break from the 93 degree heat by getting the “inside/air conditioning tour” via power point photo slides. Thanks Leo!

Be sure to reserve a tour!

By Jfinchum |

Had I not read the website I wouldn't have known that the main point of this museum is to provide a walking museum tour and that it requires a reservation. All this information is well worth the price of the tours. We took both tours. I highly recommend both!

Don't miss it, best thing we did in Massachusetts!

By Minnickfamily |

The walking tour with Leo is wonderful. It is great for all ages! He will show you all the sites and add great insight and information. He makes history come alive!

Fascinating History/Awesome Guide

By Lisa M |

Our family went on a walking tour of Plymouth with Leo Martin and it was fabulous! I had wanted to go to the Plimoth Plantation (now called Plimoth Pautuxet) for 30 years. (We’re from CA) It was disappointing and nowhere near as educational as our walking tour with Leo. I wish we had skipped it and taken another tour with Leo in the afternoon. We also enjoyed talking with his wife Nancy and seeing the museum and bookstore. I appreciate they had space devoted to modern day slavery.

Hidden Gem

By GoPlaces62202548781 |

If you're interested in uncovering the overlooked (now hidden) gems of the pilgrim experience, this is the tour for you. Leo, unapologetically, explains the moral values that guided the pilgrims in how and why they founded their society the way they did. Those values became a foundational part of the formation of this country. Leo's tour brings them back to life through his knowledgeable and compelling presentation.

Wow! What a great guide Leo is!

By Walter B |

Leo Martin, dressed in his pilgrim's clothes (sorry folks, the pilgrims did not have buckles on their hats nor on their shoes), made our afternoon! His quick wit and never ending stories (all told in the first person - as any good pilgrim would do) made the couple hours fly by.

His emphasis on the faith of the pilgrims, while perhaps objectionable to some, was refreshing to us. What would the story of the pilgrims be without religion? Why do you think those 102 people (+2 by the time they ended their 66 day voyage) crammed themselves into the Mayflower? Because they heard the Massachusetts winters were so much milder than those in Europe?

We thoroughly enjoyed the walk about Plymouth with him. We'd recommend it to anyone.

If you love history, this is a must!

By lambs1 |

We were so lucky to take two tours led by Leo Martin. He is a wealth of knowledge, and was just fascinating to listen to. Learn the real story of the pilgrims from Leo.

Very good

By William W |

A great tour! Leo is a true treasure, we learned so
much . Highly recommend this tour! The walking and views were very nice.

Deeply memorable tour!

By Duval A |

Our Tour of Plymouth with Leo Martin was one of the most inspiring experiences we've ever had! He made the lives of our forefathers and mothers come alive to us through recounting actual history - not folklore - and thus deeply increased our appreciation for our beloved country's roots. Nancy's kindness and warm hospitality in their shop offered us many opportunities to take home some meaningful books & gifts to share with or Grandchildren. We are deeply grateful that Michelle Gallagher (author of the book, "Forefathers Monument Guidebook") suggested the Jenney & Leo's Tour!

Be ready to walk & learn A LOT!!

By robinetta58 |

Mr. Leo gives a very in-depth, interesting & informative walking tour. Be ready to cover some territory!!! He was able to answer everyone's questions & is very patient. He interacted with the adults as well as several children on the tour. (Mrs. Nancy stays behind at the museum, but she is very nice, too). Highly recommend this tour.

One of the Best Tours We've Ever Been On

By Traveling Mom |

This was one of the best tours we have ever been on. Leo brought everything to life and was incredibly informative about the lives of those who came to Plymouth. Highly recommend it for families as our 9 & 12 year olds enjoyed it as much as we did.

Highly Recommend These Tours

By Simahgwong |

We took the "Discover Plymouth's History" and "National Monument to the Forefathers" tours. These were an amazing tours! Leo is extremely knowledgeable and a captivating guide. It was so fascinating to learn the facts and stories behind the significant events that took place in Plymouth, and also the powerful symbolism contained in the Monument.

Learn about the Pilgrims; and how God not only led them to America, but blessed them to build up this nation community!

By Joe C |

If you want to learn about The history of the Pilgrims that hasn’t had God scrubbed out, then this is the tour for you. Both the tour around Plymouth and to the Monument of the Forefathers with Leo Martin was educational and inspiring. Thanks Leo and Nancy for courageously sharing the Truth of the Pilgrims’ Story! I was so happy to experience all of this with my wife and teenage daughter! We highly recommend it!!

A work in progress

By Alicia C |

The folks who run this museum are so so passionate about the Pilgrims. We just had time to watch Leo's movie and walk around a bit and it was amazing and moving. We learned so much - I felt like I wished he could have taught me all types of history. He really brought it to life.

Plymouth walking tour with Leo Martin

By justneff |

What a delightful walking tour we enjoyed with Leo Martin as our historian guide! He took us to important landmarks in Plymouth, telling us about the early history of the town and its 1620 settlement by the Pilgrim Separatists--and three years later, by a local Indian tribe. Although the people in our small group ranged in age from 7 to 75, he was able to hold every member's attention and make the tour interesting.

Not To Be Missed Plymouth Experience!

By DRH0PS |

When one has a passion for what they are doing, it is easily transmitted to those around that person. Leo Miller has that type of passion! It was so exciting to have our guide dressed in period clothing lead my group through the streets of Plymouth. Those who took this tour were taken back to the 1600's as they heard stories of the pilgrims who once walked on these very same paths. Indeed, this tour is a treasured experience for anyone interested in the lives of the pilgrims. Parking is available at the museum. Highly recommended!

If you're a history buff, this place is oozing with history

By AliKase |

The tour is fantastic, given by people who are committed to getting the most in-depth history perspective I've ever witnessed. My children aged 10 and 13 at the time were enthralled. Definitely recommend if you have the time.

I have never had any tour guide that knew the history of any place better than Leo Martin from The Jenny!

By Donald B |

I was amazed at the tremendous amount of information Leo from The Jenny shared about the Pilgrims, the Plymouth Colony, Plymouth Rock, and their history during his Plymouth Walking Tour. I am certainly glad I found this tour.

Great walking tour

By vab1122 |

We were lucky to have Leo all to ourselves rather than share him with a class room worth of kids. He walked us around to the different sights bringing the history to life. We did the tour after visiting the Plimonth Plantation. I highly recommend this tour.

Complete story of the Pilgrims...

By Carol Q |

Unfortunately the tours were done for the day but I got to watch a video by guide/owner Leo Martin about the Pilgrim's background history and how central their religious faith was to their coming here. It can be difficult to find much in-depth info on this at other attractions. I learned SO MUCH... about their beliefs as English Separatists and how persecuted they were in England, their time in Leiden, Holland, and the reasons that they decided to come here rather than stay in Leiden., and the ideas that they contributed about many types of freedom (including religious) that form the backbone of our beliefs in the US today... I was so impressed and humbled by what I found out..The video is for sale for $15.00 in the gift store. . I highly recommend this museum...

NOT to be missed

By Cathy D |

The most overlooked monument ever! This is my favorite place to take visitors to Plymouth. A little of the beaten path but a must see!

The #1 thing to do in Plymouth!

By kmjer2911 |

This should definitely be your first, and maybe only, stop in Plymouth!! This family owned tour company does various tours in and around Plymouth that are outstanding! We took the tour at the Founders Monument! Wow! We learned all about the Pilgrim's lives and, most importantly, their faith. Tour guide Leo is so knowledgeable! I really can't say enough good things about this tour! By far the highlight of our entire trip!

wonderful tour

By Pjb96 |

Leo Martin made the tour fun and very interesting. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting plymouth. He has so many facts that we didn't know about. Leo was the best tour guide we ever had.

Plymouth - The Untold Story

By MrsMicgoo |

We booked both the National Monument to the Forefathers Tour and the Walking Tour of Plymouth. Both were exceptional! Leo and his brother were our guides for the day. Both don the traditional pilgrim attire and give you so much rich history about Plymouth and our forefathers.... the history that sadly we aren't taught in school. The knowledge these two have on the subject, as well as the passion they have for it, is evident in their tours. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

This is a MUST See

By Greg P |

When visiting here - you have to see this place and book Leo to be your guide throughout the town. He is fantastic and so is the museum - can't say enough good about our experience here

Best activity on our trip!

By Adventure615948 |

My husband and I took our 4 teenaged grandchildren on a trip in June of 2021 to see Plymouth, Martha's Vineyard, and Cape Cod. I have recently learned I am a Mayflower descendant and wanted to share the story of this area and our ancestors with the Grands. This tour with Leo the Historian is the top thing we did on this trip. The grandchildren loved it , even over all the other things we did! That says so much about Leo and what he shared on the tour. This was the first thing we did--- and everything else came in after it on the Top Ten List for the trip for all of us! Such interesting information and very easy to hear with the headset he uses. He is such an example of someone who is a patriot and believes that God is a part of our founding-- not preachy, but strong in his personal beliefs--- how refreshing! Just do it!

Great

By Dean M |

Leo Martin and his wife are a blessing from God. We will visit and are telling everyone to visit. We will be coming back to bring our friends and family

Interesting Perspective

By ANNE M |

Karen and Leo have created a unique experience for travelers to Plymouth. We took the Pilgrim Economics tour with Leo and it was fascinating to hear his perspectives. Many myths were shattered that I had from my childhood. It is well worth the $$. We also bought his book "Pilgrim Pursuit of Happiness".

Loved every minute of it!

By Mamamurt1 |

I read about this tour in Tim Ballard’s book, The Pilgrim Hypothesis, and when I saw it was so highly recommended on TripAdvisor, I knew I better book it. Im so glad I did! I had been to Plymouth multiple times, but Leo brought us on a route I didn’t know existed. It was beautiful! Leo brings a special spirit and passion to his walking tour of the city, and he packs so many stories into the hour that I felt like I knew the people. Absolute loved every minute of it! A huge thanks to all those associated with The Jenney!

Worth every penny

By wildcat2000 |

We arrived in Plymouth in the pouring rain and wasn't even sure about a tour. Leo and his wife are amazing. They are so passionate about history and their museum. They took us out in the rain without hesitation and gave an amazing tour. Luckily the weather improved! Leo showed us all the important spots and included important and interesting points in history. Highly recommend. We honestly felt like we underpaid.

Nice

By WorldTravelOne |

Cool place with history. The entrance is not hard to find but also not intuitive. Nice that these historic places are kept up.

Pretty cool monument

By Traunero F |

Impressive statue/monument, check it out, you won't be disappointed, you don't need to stay long.....

Leo gives a marvelous tour!

By Janet P |

It was a cool, windy September afternoon, but "Pilgrim" Leo kept us moving and engaged on this great walking tour of Plymouth. His descriptions brought the hardships and loss suffered by the Pilgrims in 1620 to life. He is fun and very interesting. I learned much! Would recommend to anyone interested in American History.

Must-do tour!

By John14:6 |

We took a fantastic tour of the National Monument of the Forefathers the day before Thanksgiving with Leo. It was fabulous and awe inspiring. For everyone, it was the best part of our whole Plymouth trip.

The museum has great parking behind it and is located right next to the Grist Mill. In addition to doing a tour, spend time in the small museum and ask about where the beams came from!

Must see! Learn the real Pilgrim story!

By Nancy Q |

Leo and Nancy Martin bring the Pilgrim story to life, and demonstrate the importance of the Pilgrim contribution to the founding of American liberties and form of government. Their tours are informative, interesting, and - most importantly - historically accurate. The scholarly work of the Martins have given me a greater appreciation of the courageous men and women of the Mayflower, and of the heritage of faith, character, and freedom they left for future generations.
Here you will learn the real story of the pilgrims' history and their close relationship with the native Americans. You'll gain insight into the very heartbeat of American liberty.
For any truth-seeker, this is a must-see. Take time and get the whole story.

Wonderful!!

By Esther W |

The Jenney is by far one of the best tours I have been on!! Leo explains the history and purpose of the pilgrims so well!

Informative and entertaining walking tour

By BargainQuest |

We took the tour with "Leo the Husband" on our recent trip to Plymouth. For only $12 per person, we got to see the highlights of the central part of Plymouth along with entertaining stories and history. The tour begins and ends at the Jenney Museum, which is run by Leo and his wife. There is no charge to get in to the museum or gift shop at all. There are a few informative displays, but not much there. The walking tour was a mostly leisurely, but sometimes brisk walk through historic Plymouth, including visiting Brewster Gardens, Plymouth Rock, some of the memorials, church and Burial Hill. Leo was a very entertaining and informative tour guide. Would highly recommend and consider it one of the highlights of our trip to New England.

Wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

By Susan P |

Highlight of our day in Plymouth! Leo the husband gave a fantastic walking tour and taught us a lot about the pilgrims and history of the area. The interpretive center is as very interesting and we especially enjoyed watching the video.

Walk with Leo to Learn and Value Pilgrim History!

By BA90 |

Leo Martin is a national treasure! He brings a storyteller’s sense to this tour, and offers subtle political commentary that shows that much of what we struggle with today in this country was quite similar 400 years ago!

Be prepared to walk, and be prepared to pay active attention to this knowledgeable gentleman, who brings passion to his work!

I highly recommend you invest the money to take this insightful tour in Plymouth!

Great experience. Learned a lot of history

By Lin0513 |

For years I had seen Leo doing his walking tour and wanted to take it. I was not disappointed. You learn a lot about the pilgrims and the history of Plymouth. As for the negative comments saying Leo talks right wing politics those people have not read history. Leo only spoke of the pilgrims beliefs and their politics.

I highly recommend this walking tour with Leo.

You can park for free in the parking lot past the grist mill.

Awesome Tour!

By Tom P |

We are so happy we did this tour. Leo's tour was very detailed, interesting and fun. We would absolutely recommend this tour. Thank you Leo!

Step out of the world-wind tours and step into the gentle world of history

By jeanne c |

Two of the most lovely people you'll ever encounter in Plymouth are your host and hostess here, Leo and Nancy Martin. Bonus? You have an unmatched opportunity to walk through history with Leo; his being an astute historian with strong Christian truths to authenticate what it is you will learn of the town. Both personally invested in offering unique experiences to their guests, you'll leave "cheated" if you don't stop by and visit the Jenney Museum.

Just ok

By J J |

Wasn't what I was expecting, trip advisor built it up so much, we had to see it. It was a nice stop , but I won't go back. Just ok.

great tour!

By kathy c |

Leo was excellent! We learned so much! A must do! Well worth the $12 and 1 1\2 hours! Very informative.would definitely recommend this tour! He took you to lots of key places and had lots of true facts about Plymouth

Wonderful Way to Visit Plymouth

We did a walking tour with Leo Martin all around the historical sites, took just over an hour, then ended here at the Jenney Museum. The walk was wonderful, really interesting. Leo was very funny. At the Museum we were shown a video. They have a nice gift shop too. A lovely afternoon.

A nice little Museum in Plymouth

By Douglas H |

The Jenny Museum is a mom and pop operation. A small museum - not a lot to see, The people who run it were a lot of fun - we took their tour of Plymouth.

Very interesting and informative

By brownejc |

Greeted by Nancy, we were kindly welcomed to their lovely museum and tour HQ. Leo took us on a walk through Plymouth where the Pilgrims landed and made their first settlement. The tour lasted about 75 minutes and then we jade enough info to venture out on our own. I would highly recommend this along with the plantation for a more complete picture at pre-colonial life. Loved it, thanks Leo and Nancy!

Small Museum with Great Walking Tour

By BNK500 |

CALL BEFORE GOING TO SCHEDULE YOUR TOUR!!! We called the day we visited, and the tour times were different than what the website listed.

The small museum is right on the street. There is free parking behind it.

We did both the history of Plymouth tour and the monument of our forefathers tour. Both were about an hour. The first tour starts and ends and the museum; the monument tour was at the monument.

Leo does the tours, and he is the best ever. He is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He gave a fantastic summary of the pilgrims, the native Americans, plantation life, houses, Plymouth Rock, the statues, and much more.

I highly recommend both tours.

Hands down the best walking tour ever!

By Deborah W |

We took this walking tour of Plymouth and it was fantastic. Leo is so informative and interesting and really makes the history of Plymouth come alive. We loved the tour and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the Pilgrims and why they came to Plymouth and how they lived.

Excellent and Inspirational!

By Guide768006 |

Insightful, educational, inspirational walking tour and museum. The Jenney museum team has such a mission to what they do. So worth every dollar to hear the real, inspirational stories behind the Pilgrims. God bless America!

The fire of faith burns on!

By kirklandkat |

Outstanding opportunity to understand the real facts and history of the pilgrims. Thoughtful and inspirational walk through the town and history. So appreciated this tour which was a highlight of my visit. Highly recommend!

Very worthwhile historical experience.

By DickTPA |

A very worthwhile visit. The Jenney's interactive tours was so good and Leo did a great job as a guide. He clearly loves where he does and that is a good thing. We were able to see a few historical things and spots as well as Plymouth Rock. I'd recommend The Jenney if you are interested in a quality activity while in Plymouth.

Eye Opening Tour celebrating the principles our nation was founded upon

By Katie G |

Leo, Nancy and the team at The Jenney Museum are rich in spirit, character, knowledge. Accurately packaging and conveying history and truth is their passion and it shows. We were captivated and amazed at the depth and wealth of knowledge Leo shared. Go on a guided tour. You will get tons more out of your visit and likely will retain the significance of the information longer. We did the 1.5 hr walking tour of Plymouth in the morning with Leo and the 1 hr Monument to the Forefathers in the afternoon. I grew up in CT and never knew the Monument to the Forefathers existed. It wasn't til Kirk Cameron and Patriot Academy highlighted it and the Jenney Museum that we worked a trip around a visit to include these landmarks. This monument and city's heritage hold the keys to the greatness of our nation. The Forefathers Monument is the matrix of liberty, the secret sauce, the blueprint which led to the formation of the greatest nation on earth. Let's get back to those foundations adn precepts again and watch our nation prosper! Our public school history and civics education don't do our history justice and the Christian foundations of our nations have been erased in textbooks/education. Leo unpacks the truth from primary documents that you likely didn't read about it your school history textbooks, blends it with anecdotal stories to bring the information alive. This group is sold out to share the precepts, systems, and Biblical concepts our great nation was founded upon. You would be remiss not to schedule a tour and visit to the museum.

Woodland Christian School Jenney tour 2021

By Rebecca S |

We toured The Jenney with Leo in the evening. The next morning he gave us a tour of the monument and then a walking tour of Plymouth. It was a wonderful part of our fifth grade trip.

Excellent!

By Ms_Julie_T |

Leo made history come alive! Ditto to all the positive reviews before me!

And the ladies at the store were so warm, welcoming, and helpful!

Thanks y'all!

Unrevised History

By Patty Blackmer |

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Jenny Museum. We took the walking tour with Leo. Leo was pleasant, knowledgeable, and had an evident love and appreciation for our country's founding. In a day where revisionist history runs the narrative, it was a breath of fresh air to hear from someone who has studied early American original documents and actually "listened" to what the writers said and did in their own words. Thank you, Leo! What a country!

Best tour ever

By Larue |

Leo was an amazing tour guide. He knows the history, the ancestors and most importantly, tied it in to our nation today. He made to idea of liberty alive and real and relative to life today. All children would benefit from his expertise. Loved the gift shop and family feel. What a bargain for a very memorable experience. Highly recommend!!!

Learned a lot about Plymouth

By Pam H |

Took the Plymouth History tour with the husband. Very knowledgeable with a passion for the history in Plymouth. Enjoyed it very much. Excellent!

Wished I’d done this sooner!

By Southshoremum |

I live in a nearby town and never knew about this tour until recently. I went with my husband and son. It was a wonderful and informative tour of the beautiful Forefathers Monument and the story of the Pilgrims. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave a flawless presentation. I recommend this to anyone and especially school aged children. It is so important to understand why we have the freedoms we do today if we want future generations to have them also.

Great experience!! Will Revisit in the Future

By Steven and Janay |

Today my family and I went on the walking tour. We were on a three day trip and this was the last activity we did. It was by far the BEST experience we had during our entire trip. Even my eight year old son enjoyed the walking, site-seeing, and retained some of the information from the tour. Our tour guide Leo was amazing. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Plymouth, the pilgrims, Native Americans and the town but he was delightfully funny as well. Despite the rainy and cold weather, He kept a smile on our face the entire time! His wife, Nancy, was very sweet. As we were trying to figure out where to go for dinner, she went out of her way to go through documents she had to find us menus of different restaurants around town. The tour was not rushed and you definitely get your moneys worth! Leo knows so much about the history of Plymouth, he has even wrote a book that I purchased in the gift shop. It is a wonderful read and short enough that I finished it the same day. Leo also is invited all over the country to speak because of his work. He and his wife give you a warm welcoming feeling of home. They both are well known in the town because of their likable personalities and themed attire, that locals kept smiling when they would see them. DON'T MISS OUT on this special spot seriously. I would definitely recommend going ...even if you think you already know a lot about the pilgrims and the history of Plymouth, Leo will tell you something you didn't know with all of his fun facts! As for my family and I, we will be revisiting when we can.
Love all the way from Florida.

Fantastic!!!!

By SleepingBeauty14 |

We went to Plymouth to do some research on the Pilgrims. After walking around and hearing what the Park Rangers and others were saying about them, we found out about the Jenney Museum. Then, we called and got a reservation for the Wlaking Tour with Leo Martin. It was the best information on the Pilgrims to be found in the whole area. Not even Plymouth Plantation could compare. He is very knowledgeable and honest about the way the Pilgrims lived, what they believed, and why they chose to settle in Plymouth. It was absolutely phenomenal! You have not experienced Plymouth without going on this tour.

Boy Scout Troop 49 Visit to Plymouth, MA

By Marjorie S |

I was lucky enough to be able to book a private tour with the Jenney Museum for our Boy Scout Troop on their recent visit to Plymouth, Boston and Lexington. Our tour with Leo was the first tour of the weekend and it set the tone and expectations for the rest of the trip. The boys loved Leo! He was knowledgeable and entertaining and the boys could not wait to share their Leo stories with their parents when they arrived home. When I booked the tour I mentioned that a couple of our boys had Pilgrim ancestors. Leo was able to take that information and incorporate it into his presentation making it all the more special. I was lucky enough to work with Nancy in setting up the tour and she was lovely. If you are heading to Plymouth be sure to call and book a tour with the Jenney Museum. You won't regret it!

Make an apt. a Week Ahead of Time

By SuzanneLG |

If your going to Plymouth and have never been there before, it is certainly worth this tour to get informed about the pilgrims and indians alike. He informed us of the truth regarding plymouth, that we did not know. Please take the time to find out what actually went on in the new world.
He has written a book, but I think it would be wonderful, if there could be a documentary of him telling the real story of Plymouth and shown to all the elementary schools in America

A Pilgrim Must

By Patrick H |

A must-do tour for Plymouth! Leo was great and the history even better! It was amazing to see God's providential hand in the founding of our country. We learned so much in such a short amount of time...incredible history you won't find in a public school.

The key to Plymouth

By Mike S |

Start your tour of Plymouth at the Jenney Museum. The tour guide will unlock Plymouth and give you a true word picture of the era. As Mr. Martin wears period dress, you will think you are being conducted through Plymouth by William Bradford himself. The Jenney Museum is a worthy educational experience. Be sure to allow enough time to walk through the Museum Shop!
The staff are experts on the Forefathers Monument and can also lead you to the Monument site which is also in Plymouth. Words and even pictures cannot completely describe the awesomeness and majesty of the monument. It must be seen in person.

It’s not clear from the title, but this is an alt right/christian conservative tour.

By Safari554365 |

Everyone was very nice, but we heard a distinctively alt right/christian conservative view of history which included debunked stories I recognized as being traditionally espoused by far right conservatives. I wouldn’t call this well-researched or balanced history.

This approach wasn’t very clear from the website and is not clear in the description here. We would not have taken this tour if we had known.

I can see how some people may genuinely enjoy this tour but it’s not for everyone.

Super

By SWeaver12 |

As it was extremely windy, we were unable to actually do the walking tour but Leo gave us all the history and details of the tour inside the museum and then we did the walk ourselves. Leo is a fount of knowledge and very, very good and he and Nancy could not have been more accommodating. Please do do this tour - or, if the weather is inclement - ask for Leo to do the tour verbally inside. One of the best things we did in Massachusetts.

The things you take for granted!

By Linda D |

What a treat for my son, the engineer, and his Dad and me! Came to Plimoth Plantation, saw this was included in our admission fee, and walked on over to check it out. A surprise for sure! Great staff told the story of how the grinding wheels work, explained the various stages of the corn to meal process, and then we went downstairs to watch the big grinding wheel on the inside. Lots of hands-on exhibits showing gear reduction and someone on hand to point out how the transfer of power from water to gears and to wheels takes place. Another staff member does the fine screening to cornmeal with more hands-on. Finally, the gift shop and then outdoors for a lovely view of the water wheel outside (see picture). Informative, fun and engaging for young and old alike.

Historic DVD

By Kirkstead |

We were sucked into watching th video by the presenter who did not realise we were just looking. There was some embarrassment as we had not paid. The video lasts 20 minutes and is very informative about the history of the settlement of Pigrim Fthers and there influence on the development of,the USA.

Not Our Cup of Tea

By Hoosonfirst |

We signed up for the $25 historic tour yesterday morning, after being told at the museum that the tour would focus on the Pilgrims' economic history. The tour guide, dressed in historic garb, used the tour time to express his personal political and religious convictions. We did not spend $25 per person to be proselytized, and left after about 10 or 15 minutes. The museum understood and kindly refunded our money. Pretty site, though, with pond, grist mill, and herring brook.

If this is your first time to Plymouth and you only have one day to visit, this walking tour is what you should do.

By Stacy N |

Only had one day to spend checking out Plymouth while being in Boston to board a cruise. I saw this tour online and decided to call on the way down and make a reservation. So glad I did. Without this tour, we would have missed out on most of the historical significance of just about everything in town. Leo is the man. He is knowledgeable, polished, passionate, and gifted at what he does. I highly recommend this man’s tour of the original site of the Plymouth Plantation.

Plymouth Tour

By Christine M |

This was an absolutely exquisite tour. Leo is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. We were fascinated from start to finish. So much intriguing information! Best tour in Plymouth!

Historical Tour with a peppering of Christianity

By ap198063 |

The tour guide and his wife were fantastically nice, and it was clear that they were welcomed citizens of the town. People waved at Leo during the entire tour, and greeted the walking group with a smile. These are good people, and the tour was a beautiful walk during the summer time.

Leo and his family are religious and will mention their heavy Christian leanings and opinions during the tour. I'm not religious, so I just pretended Leo was an extremely liberal separatist pilgrim--that he was role playing. It made the tour that much funner!

Younger kids won't be interested in it, it's a lot of talking and information. I'd say a very astute nine year old might like it.

Informative and Enjoyable Tour in Plymouth MA

By Joyce M |

outstanding historical walking tour giving interesting insights and information into the founding of the Plymouth settlement. Leo and Nancy are locals for many years. Very friendly, well-organized and enjoyable time!

Amazing!

By Marsha |

Impressive and so inspiring to see what this statue represents. More of our country needs to see this statue.

Wonderful Tour, Take a Step Back 400 years.

By Jonathan M |

If one didn't know better, it would be easy to believe that Leo Martin was the 103rd Mayflower pilgrim (or perhaps the 105th depending on how you count, but let Leo explain that to you himself). It was a true pleasure to spend time with someone so dedicated to helping us truly understand what we thought we already knew. The museum itself has an abundance of simple, well-presented information. It is not an exhibit of artifacts, but one focusing on the ideals and principles that helps puts the events of 1620 and beyond in perspective. Although it is possible to visit the Jenney Museum without taking advantage of one of the excellent tours, my wife and I highly recommend the Plymouth walking tour which covered a remarkable amount of ground in a little over an hour. Stops included Town Brook, Brewster Gardens, Leyden Street, Burial Hill, and of course, the Rock in all its glory (again I encourage you to experience Leo's commentary for yourself). Leo's presentation was a near-perfect combination of fact, philosophy, anecdotes, and witty commentary. At the conclusion I felt that I didn't just know about the Mayflower pilgrims, but that I knew the Mayflower pilgrims. This was truly the highlight of our visit to Plymouth!

Wonderful fact filled Walk

By J K |

We took their walking tour with Leo. He is a great guide with tons of knowledge and fun facts! Learned so much. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Highly recommend it!

Definitely coming back for a second tour!

By Chad B |

Leo is such a blessing. If you're contemplating doing this tour, stop contemplating and just do it. So much history has been lost about our country and Leo helps to shed much needed light on the subject. It's vital to learn who we are and what our purpose is in this grand country of the USA.

Amazing History Tours of Plymouth

By Jared P |

Truly enjoyed the 3 tours that Leo did for us today (Discover Plymouth's History, National Monument to the Forefathers, and Stories of the American Covenant). Incredible knowledge of everything that he showed us and their museum. We loved how he tied the Gospel of Jesus Christ into everything that he shared with us and the truth about the pilgrims and their journey. I highly recommend him and his wife Nancy if you want to get the most out of your trip to Plymouth.

Wonderful experience

By Chris V |

Leo was as good of tour guide as we have ever had. Very passionate and knowledgeable and brought history to life! He had my wife crying several times when he was telling his stories of pilgrim faith, value of family, and all the hardship they endured. Wonderful tour and give 6 stars if I could.

Family Trip

By DRBHersheyPA |

Fantastic walking tour! Our three generational family group all agreed that Leo’s tour was the best find in Plymouth.
His knowledge and personality make this tour a treat.
Do this before anything else in Plymouth, he gives you the lay of the land, an accurate history and vital information so you get the most out of the importance of Plymouth.
Even the hard of hearing could hear because Leo uses a microphone.

Inspiring and challenging visit

By eguyer52 |

Just returned from a trip to Plymouth with my family. Excellent, inspiring, informative history imparted through Leo's commentary and the museum displays. Wish there had been a thousand other Americans there to be reminded of the Christian foundation upon which this nation was built. If there is a positive future for our land, it will only be in the recovery of this vision.

Simply wonderful!

By Lindsey R |

Had a blast. The tour was wonderful, insightful and fun. We have kids ranging from 1 to 7 and everyone had a blast. Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing walking tour! It Will not disappoint

By Reagan B |

My family traveled to Boston and Plymouth last week and we chose this tour based on online reviews, and boy am I glad we did! This walking tour was one of the highlights of our entire trip even for our kids (aged 7,10,13) and we did some pretty amazing things. Leo and his wife Nancy are fantastic, and Leo's knowledge and ability to deliver the history of the Pilgrims in an entertaining and engaging way is second to none! Leo's passion for the Pilgrim's history and what it means for us today is inspiring. He knows the the story of each passenger of the Mayflower so well it seems as though they were his personal friends. (Not an old man joke ;-) ). The tour takes you by Plymouth rock which is cool to see, but the tour is so well done it's not even close to being the highlight of the tour. There is obviously a lot of history to see and appreciate in Plymouth, but honestly the highlight of this tour is Leo himself. You can see the same sites, and monuments with other tours but this is the only one with Leo Martin!! If you have half a day to spend in Plymouth....this is the tour you want to take.

Excellent! Interesting & enlightening

By Barb C |

Last summer my husband & I did the Jenney Tour. It was one of the best highlights of our 2 week trip from western NY, through Connecticut, RI, and Massachusetts. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, fun & energetic. We bought the DVD, and I hope to bring my parents to experience the tour this summer.

Good time

By Tyson G |

Leo was a great guide on the tour. Both Nancy and Leo were friendly, knowledable, and upbeat! Took us on many historic sites and knew a lot of history. The walking tour was well worth it! Museum wasn’t anything special which is the reason for the 4. Tour is a 5 Star; museum by itself not so much. I see a few reviews warning of right wing leanings. While the souvenir shop definitely has a lot of right wing views and conservative Christian materials in it, which initially made me cautious of some biased history, I didn’t find anything that was said to be historically inaccurate even upon researching more liberal leaning reliable sources and I experienced no biased rhetoric on our tour.

Mini-Holiday in Plymouth, Mass.

By Ken C |

This is a little jewel of Plymouth. We almost missed it. The proprietors, Nancy and Leo, are gracious hosts. My bad hip was bothering me, so I was going to have Carol go off on the tour while I relaxed. But it was early Saturday morning and Leo decided he could give us an onsite fun and very informative hour-long discussion of the history, problems, backgrounds, false starts, successes, failures, stunning vision of Mayflower Compact, and thrilling beginning of these united states less than 400 years ago. Leo made it all come alive and it is very humbling to realize how close a thing it was. Thank you, Nancy and Leo.

Historical tour

By Wilcox S |

The museum is a work in progress, however, the video was quite interesting. We went on the historical tour with Leo who was not only informative but quite a mesmerizing story teller. Really felt that we had an understanding of what it was like for the pilgrims as well as the Indians of the day.

A perfect way to spend a short amount of time in Plymouth!

By woodyb70 |

We were staying in Boston for a week and decided to take a side trip to Plymouth and Newport, R.I. Based on the reviews, we decided to use our time in Plymouth at the Jenney Museum. We were able to call and schedule a tour the same day. The tour ended up being just Leo and my family (me, my wife, and two daughters ages 12 and 14). Leo was well-researched and professional. He made the tour interactive asking us questions, providing lots of information, and injecting humor from time to time. The tour took a little over an hour and there is a decent amount of walking, although there are frequent stops where Leo shares a story. Everyone in our family enjoyed the tour!

Start here first!

By Alan E |

It all begins here! The true stories of the Pilgrims you’ll never here anywhere else. A true gem. Leo and Nancy Martin bring the stories to life.

The Jenny Plymouth Ma. History experience must not be missed!!

By bikevt |

I highly recommend The Jenny Tours experience with Nancy and Leo. Nancy will guide you through the gift shop of Plymouth Ma. History. Leo will guide you around town teaching the history of The Plymouth Massachusetts Pilgrims and Forefathers. Leo will also do a comprehensive presentation of The Forefathers Monument dedicated to the Plymouth Massachusetts Pilgrims. All under God, Amen!! Such an amazing experience and beautiful ocean front location. I recommend doing The Jenny tours one day and The Mayflower 2 along with The Plantation Tour the next day, make a minimum of two days. The food is good along the oceanfront or in town. I recommend The Grist Mill located behind The Jenny, for lunch after The Jenny Tours. Good pub food..I had the fish n chips..very good. Enjoy.

THE tour company of Plymouth

By Brian E |

If you're going to take a tour of Plymouth, the tours arranged through the Jenney Museum are the ones to take.

Leo, author and co-manager of the Jenney Museum, dresses in period costume to guide you along the streets and trails of Plymouth. His tour is laid out well and he gives great information and laughs along the way.

The best things about the tours through the Jenney Museum is that they are continually quoting original sources, making their presentations accurate and true. So many other organizations seem to be presenting information that is not only unsure, but clearly an attempt to boss the visitors to some type of agenda. So if you are going to tour Plymouth, book one through the Jenney Museum!!

Favorite Tour On Vacation to Massachusetts

This tour was amazing! Leo was very knowledgeable. You see many important sites on the tour in a short distance. I wish we had time to go on one of the other tours offered as well.

Outdoor Tour a Plus during COVID

By DSmith |

We enjoyed the Jenney walking tour as an outdoor activity during the COVID pandemic. Leo is a historian and an entertainer. I would definitely recommend.

Introduction to History of Pilgrims and Plymouth Colony

By AMSH |

We enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it. Be forewarned---Leo peppers his tour with a bit of right-wing political commentary, but it does not detract from the educational aspect of the tour.

Excellent Christian-based tour

By owamibuy |

The owners of this "museum" have created a fact- and God-based tour of Plymouth that is well worth the time. There are 1-hour and 3-hour (only a few times/year) tours. The 3-hour was fully worth it. Wouldn't take little kids, but EXCELLENT for older kids and adults. Very inspiring! Made Plymouth so meaningful. Thanks, Leo and Nancy! Can't wait to bring our kids back.
