Wagon Ride

By Jennifer K |

Had a Blast on the wagon ride. I will never do the car ride again. We had family visiting and they all had a blast too. Our guide was awesome!!

I was amazed!! I never thought my teenage children would get so much into this activity. We all had an aweme time!

By del426 |

Lazy 5 Ranch is a great activity for children, teenagers, young adults, adults and seniors. It was fun to feed and interact with the animals. Definitely bring your camera to capture not only photos of the animals, but photos of the family/friends and their expressions having fun feeding the animals.
We left with some great memories!! Thanks Lazy 5 Ranch for making this possible!!

Loads of Fun for All Ages!!!

By CZiegler04 |

It was a perfect afternoon to explore the Lazy 5 Ranch. The weather was beautiful, and it wasn’t crowded so we took our time driving through the park and strolling through the other areas. This is a nice time of year to visit because there are lots of cute baby animals, and it truly is a fun experience for all ages. We had not visited in several years so my husband and I had forgotten how much we enjoyed feeding the animals and laughing at some of their “pushy” attitudes. LOL We recommend each adult purchase their own bucket of feed, and save some for the end. Don’t forget it’s cash or North Carolina checks only, no debit or credit cards accepted.

Dave and Patty adventure

By Patty B |

What a wonderful time we had at the lazy 5 ranch today. The staff was wonderful our guide on the wagon ride was Britney and she was extremely informative the animals were hysterically funny they want more fun than the breast of people on the ride. But we did enjoy ourselves it was one of the best adventures I've ever been to in a zoo worth every penny and it's not an expensive trip for a family.

Drive through animal park

By paulH3980QP |

This 3.5 mile drive through animal park is a great way to spend some time. Lots of animals wanting to eat from your bucket or hands. Buy lots of food. Great place to take kids. Play area for kids, also.

Just like I remembered.

By 704CarolinaGirl84 |

In town visiting family and decided to bring the nieces and nephews here for the day. I remembered coming here on school trips but oddly enough, I remembered feeding the animals from a vehicle and not on the back of the buggy they pull. We all had an amazing time and the kids were excited about being so close to the animals. I would definitely recommend Lazy 5 for a family outing. I believe we ended up being there for about 3 hours and it was time well spent.

Took our grandson, had a great time!

This is an animal park/zoo with exotic animals free and you stay in your car. Because of the weather, we decided not to take to wagon ride. Awesome place! We got to pet and the animals. Be careful of the long-horned cattle is you have a new car.

Very good

By Subhajit Bharadwaj |

Very safe and very enjoyable for kids.many animals on display and they come to you for food.take animal food and you can feed them live.just beware to feed ostriches as they poke a bit harder use bucket to feed them

Fun!

By Mohamed A |

This place is great for the kids as well as adults. The wagon ride is well worth it, spare your car. The guide is very informative. You get to feed the animals and get really close to them. Tons of breeds and different animals. Theres a picnic area with a play ground, so bring your lunch along. The ride lasts about an hour, then your free to roam about and go to the petting zoo. Bathrooms are clean. Just a note, this place only takes cash, no other forms of payment. Overall great experience! Highly recomended.

Drive Through Advice

By JAMES M |

My wife and I love animals, so we thought this would be a great place to go while we were in the Mooresville, NC area. When we entered, we asked about the wagon to ride on through the ranch, but they said it was not running, so we decided to drive through. At the entrance was a sign "Enter at your own risk". We drove on in. There were many animals like deer, ostriches, zebras, and several other animals all around the car. They wanted the feed we had purchased at the front gate. We rolled our windows down and began feeding them as we slowly moved along the dirt road. That was all well and good until the car in front of us stopped. The animals caught up with us and were determined to get the rest of our feed. It was when the goats reared their front hooves and scraped the side of our car with their hooves that upset us. Now I know why the risk sign was up. It should have warned you the animals would put their feet on your car. Finally we got away from those aggressive animals and got turned around because there were very few signs guiding us through the ranch. We couldn't find our way out until we saw the wagon full of people (the one that wasn't running) and the driver told us to turn around to exit. If you go, DON't drive through if you value your car. I was driving a Jaguar..Both sides of the car were ruined by animal hooves. It was fun feeding the animals, but do it from the wagon. I'm hoping we can buff out the scratches from the hooves.

Wonderful day with my grandkids

By Angel K |

We shared a wonderful day with our four grandchildren at The Lazy 5 Ranch. There are so many animals and the property is beautiful and well kept. We made a reservation for the wagon ride and the kids really enjoyed every minute,

Love this place.

By Pamela J |

I feel like a little kid every time I come here. My children and myself live Lazy 5. We always take a wagon ride through the park because I don't want my car to get scratched by the animals! The people who work here are very knowledgeable of animals. These animals are well cared for. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Awesome!!

By N6848TCpatriciap |

Got to pet/feed all kinds of animals - recommend the wagon ride, as your car will be slobbered on, etc. - these guys KNOW there is good to be had!! Nice way to spend a day!!!!

Animals Up Close and Personal!!!

By L S |

Where do I begin to tell you how wonderful this was! Had an exchange student here from China and visited Lazy Five in our own truck. Best absolute way to do it! We sat in the bed of the truck and got to feed the animals up close and personal. Absolute blast for the entire family as well as our exchange student! We laughed and laughed and laughed! The animals are hilarious! some stalked our truck through the entire farm! This is definitely fun for all ages! Will be going back again!

The Animals Are Amazing!

By Forky Adventures |

Fun & Exciting place to visit! I mean the animals come right up to AND Inside your car! I had a great time while freaking out at the same time! LoL - It was Fun & it would be fun for all ages for sure

Fun times with my grandchildren.

By Laurel K |

We all 9 of us took the wagon ride. We were given a bucket of food each. They told us to hold it tight, the animal roam free and will just help themselves to any bucket. Ride was about an hour, we saw loads of different animals. We had lots of laughs. We had a picnic on the grounds and we had a fun filled day!

Great Mother-Daughter Date

By Judy W |

When my kids were little they had school trips to the Lazy 5 and rode the wagon. We had fun on those preschool trips but they are teens now. I decided my daughter and I would do the drive through experience last week. We had the BEST time! We laughed so hard and had a great bonding experience. Lazy 5 is not just for the little ones!

Awesome

By Locagirl1 |

Pay the extra for the wagon ride. It was worth it if you choose to drive your own car warning it will get scratched and slobbered on. This was way fun. The ostriches and cows with long horns were a bit scary. Definelty will come back in the summer with my daughter. She will love it.

Great time with kids but scratches on car.

By Mike F |

We had a great time with the kids while driving around the ranch. Several times we did have some of the smaller animals jump up on the side of the car which lead to several scratches. I may go again but see if there are other options other than driving around.

Super fun and enjoyable!

By Kylie |

My family and I took the car and it took us two hours to get through just the safari part! There is also a petting zoo as well that is included. Buckets of the feed are only $3 a piece and they are pretty big in size! Ostrich’s and emu’s are kinda intimidating, but they were also very fun to see up close.

lots of laughter

By Gary H |

It's an animal park safari with only friendly animals. The animals rush your car to get the food pellets that you buy at the entrance gate. The bigger animals put their entire heads into the cars, The small one you reach the bucket down to them

Church Tour

By Dianne P |

We had a group of Senior Citizens that enjoyed the wagon ride a lot. Our tour guide was very informative about all the animals, the only problem was that we could not hear a lot of what she said, our suggestion would be a portable mike so we could hear. We enjoyed feeding the animals , they were friendly and fun to watch.

Amazing Experience - We want to go back!

By JoyofVeg |

Our favorite tip: book/reserve spots in the first wagon ride of the day, get there early, enjoy! (Then visit the petting zoo after your wagon ride). We very much enjoyed our visit to the Lazy 5 Ranch, and want to go back! It was an amazing experience to see these beautiful animals up close, and to feed them by hand. Feeding a yak, a gorgeous - huge - black bull, buffalo (all of whom were so beautiful, gentle, with great soulful eyes looking right into your eyes - it's kind of a stunning experience), the baby giraffe and whole giraffe family, water buffalo, ostriches, zebra, little baby pigs were SO cute, sika, the gorgeous all-white fallow deer in the forest like something out of a storybook. I have only mentioned a few of the animals we met in person and fed by hand/feed buckets at the Lazy 5 Ranch on our wagon ride, and that doesn't even include the petting ranch area! At the petting zoo area we met a gorgeous peacock, a majestic white turkey (with red and blue areas on his face); wallabies; goats and the most adorable baby goats; amazing-cool-crazy-looking birds (including a bright yellow one that ran very fast - wondering if it was some kind of "road runner" bird, but we didn't ask anyone) - just to name a few. It was a memorable outing - we want to go back!

Great place for all ages

By Stacy V |

Great place for all ages. Highly recommend the wagon tour. This avoids the car line, you have a guide telling you about the animals, you feed the animals up close (great for the giraffes) and your car doesn't get messy.

Animal fun for whole family

By kcnc2 |

The ranch is a fun and safe expierence for the whole family to get up close with animals on either the wagon ride or the petting zoo. This makes for a great
Spring outing. Expect to see many new arrivals and baby animals. Feeding is also great fun for young and old. Ranch is well kept and clean.

Nibbles and Giggles

By Redcurls875 |

We did this adventure on a whim, not really knowing what to expect.. WOW we had so much fun making animals friends. Slobbery hand kisses and head shot selfies are a must with this critters. Thanks for a fun day and letting us enjoy your critters

Fun for the whole family!

By Joan W |

We have been a number of times! We have never been disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable! The experience is delightful - for any age. I recommend taking the wagon for an extra $3. It is so worth it! Otherwise, and it happened to us, you will want to open the windows to your vehicle and you will have animal food inside for a long, long time.

Family outing

By Patricia D |

Sunday afternoon for family of children, parents and grandparents. Delightful place. Temperature was too hot for the horses so we couldn’t do the wagon ride but we went round in the car and fed, emu, ostrich zebra, alpaca llama giraffes and a selection of cattle which included some huge longhorns. There was also a walk around area to view and pet the animals. Lovely rest/ play area. Well worth a visit for all ages

The most disgusting safari in the world

By Mashen'ka T |

I would leave no stars if I could because the people who run this place do not care about visitors to the most disgusting degree. Spending hours in line of cars before getting in the park without any information about waiting time and dragging through the woods filled with cows and ostriches, stopping after a few feet again and again because if a long line of cars - that will be your experience most certainly in this place. Two words - boring snd disgusting! Never ever again. It should be closed, re-organized and run by a better management.

Great day with the animals

By Stacey T |

We had a wonderful time here. The young children in our group got to feed the animals, as did the adults. We also drove through and had wonderfully upclose encounters with so many different species. The highlight of the trip was the wagon ride. Rick was our driver/guide, he was very knowledgeable, kind and entertaining!

Good times with granddaughter

By ROSEBUDSAC |

Lazy 5 provided a great experience allowing my granddaughter to get close to animals she may never see in person otherwise. They provided a great wagon ride and our driver was very knowledgeable.

So Fun!

By LexiMika9 |

Kids had a blast feeding animals so close by. It is bigger than I expected. We drove around twice since the first time one of the horse looking deer yanked the food bucket away from us:)
Suggestions:
Do not offer the bucket to the horse looking big deer. They can be a bit aggressive and take your bucket away. Hand feed is better.
Goats may jump onto your doors to reach for food since they are short. So if you really hate scratches on your car, take the wagon ride instead of drive your own car.
Extra feeding food is available at the trading post by the entrance.
We loved the experience so much and for sure will go again!

We went for a day with the family. It’s definitely worth it. We did the drive through with your car but beware the animals come right up to the window looking for food that you can purchase before you start. Beware the animals, well it’s not their first rodeo. First chance they get they will try and rip the food bucket from your hand. Just look at the ground where they are standing if there is a lot of empty buckets on the ground then your dealing with a pro. They have a lot of different animals and you have to watch out for them while driving through. One animal you definitely have to watch out for is the long horn’s. They will try and stick their heads inside of your car. And their horns can destroy your car and paint so beware.

Wasn’t as good as advertised

By adriianaaa o |

Me and my friends didn’t have troubles with the staff although the animals don’t seem to be in a safe environment. There’s no staff along the trail. The animals were kind but any careless act or not being careful enough to drive through the trail can harm an animal. I disliked the availability of space provided for the bird in cages. There should also be more staff for the animal maintenance such as grooming and cleaning after them. Some people drive for hours to see these creatures. Most of these Animals had patches of hair and dirty. Hire employees that care!!!!!

Outing with grandson

By Phyllis C |

I took my 5 year old grandson for his birthday. He had a blast! He really enjoyed feeding the animals.

Great time!

By Shawna B |

My family had a great time here. We rode on the wagon instead of driving our car through. That gave us the freedom to get hands on with the animals and get some info from the driver about them.

Hidden gem!

By Nikki Jacobs |

This place is a hidden gem! I live almost 3 hours away and we have taken the road trip twice. It is worth every penny and buy 2 buckets of feed. I noticed alot of bad reviews on Trip Advisory and a few on Google so to clear things up I'd like to add this. To avoid long wait times visit through the week as well as mornings when animals are ready to eat. On the weekend it can easily be a 4 hour drive thru instead of a 2 hour. The prices are VERY reasonable. Instead of writing a bad review on how expense an adult $11.00 ticket is just don't go.
Check the prices on their fn and website if it is not affordable to you just go somewhere else it's not rocket science. Also ppl made remarks about driving thru areas were they seen no animals. That's because the animals roam free and require a large grazing area. It makes sense to not see animals in some sections. The staff were very friendly as well. I highly suggest packing some snacks and water for yourself due to being inside your car for an extended amount of time.

Nice Experience

By Ciatta R |

This was a good experience for family and kids of all ages(ages: 6,8, &13). Drove in our car: Emu, giraffes, pigs, lama, cattles, ostrich and so much more.

Recommend getting food to feed animals. Took us about an hour to do safari. Lots of animals come to car to eat.

Would recommend this place if anyone is in the area!

Only warning....animals come close to car and may scratch and dirty car up.

We laughed sooooo hard

By Tammy m |

A group of 20+ (Ages 2-40+) booked a wagon ride on 07Dec2019. We haven’t laughed or screamed, in excitement, this much in a long time. The wagon guide was very educational and the animals were happy to come up to the wagon for food. We particularly enjoyed the giraffes and the zebras. This was an experience that we will all remember for years to come. If your looking to make memories with your friends and family you must add Lazy 5 to your list.

Amazing!

By irinkaflorida |

Trip to Lazy 5 ranch was the highlight of our visit to Charlotte. It is just shy of an hour drive from downtown Charlotte. but is so worth it! We went on a weekend and, according to some of the reviews, were prepared for a long line to get in. However, we didn't experience any delays at all( maybe since it was afternoon, and majority of people have left already). We spent approximately 2.5 hours there altogether. The drive through is slow, maybe 1.5 hours, as every car ahead stops here and there, but it is something to be expected, and it actually allowed us to feed plenty of animals and take a good look around since we planned to spend plenty of time there anyway. However, if you have small children, or have an emergency, it might be a little tricky getting out of the safari trail - it looks like be one-way road. So plan accordingly) *It is advised that if you want to feed animals you should when possible pull over kind of alongside the road to avoid obstructing traffic behind, but few people follow these directions. So it mainly is a stop and go traffic. There are so so many kinds of animals there, large and small. They all look very well kept. Not sure how many acres the ranch is, but the animals definitely seem to have plenty of space to roam around. There are picnic tables, and bathrooms by the parking area, and the entire property looks very well organized and kept. Definitely recommend visiting, great place for all ages!

Fun for kids and adults

By Patty C |

This is such a fun day for kids and adults. Buy plenty of food, you won’t be disappointed. Animals come right up to the car!

It's alright

By Bruce S |

Well this is a hell of a racket...you pay to do the work of feeding these people's animals for them lol. Na, it was alright, there was certainly a lot of animals...but the giraffes were the only non farm animals that's very interesting and they're fenced off.

Animals you can feed.

By Deana S |

I loved feeding the animals especially the giraffes. All the animals coming up to the car and putting there heads in the windows of the cars.

Wonderful Place

By Tabitha H |

Great place to take a field trip or just to go with your family to enjoy. I have visited a couple times on class field trips and the kids and parents are just pleased with the experience.

Wagon rides are recommended on sunny days.

By aki56 |

You can meet many herbivorous animals such as zebras, giraffes, ostriches, llamas, camels, goats, etc. Wagons are recommended on sunny days! You can feed the giraffes, and there are rhinos too. If you are lucky, you can see active rhinos.

Fun for the whole family!!!

By intrepidtraveler23 |

I had to pick between classifying this visit as a family trip with one young children or a family trip with teenagers. We had both. Along with grandparents who were in their 60s and 70s. We really had a lot of fun! The animals seemed very well cared for. It was a very up and close and personal interaction with the animals who came right up to our open wagon to enjoy the only food we could feed them, which is provided by the ranch. Also, our wagon driver was very informative in terms of talking about the various animals, where they are from, etc. etc. the entire experience takes about an hour the cost is approximately $10 per person. The adults really enjoyed the kids interaction with the animals, but we also enjoyed the fun we had too!

Visit with friends

By Annalee T |

We met up with some friends on a Friday to drive through the park. I would recommend getting there early, because it was packed. We rode in the back of the pick-up truck. There are lots of backups due to everyone wanting to stop and take pictures or feed certain animals. It took us a solid hour to get through the park. The kids were pretty well done by the end. I prefer the wagon ride, because you can circumnavigate the regular vehicles. Just call and book in advance. The sheep and goats are interesting as well as the llamas and camels. We didn't even make it to the playground. It was fun, but I'm not sure we will come back too soon. Hopefully visitors continue to clean up after themselves for the sake of the animals.

Great family trip

By Stephen S |

We took the wagon ride through the ranch, what a great choice. Besides the attractions, our guide, Steve, made the trip that much better. He made you feel like you were on the VIP trip and also riding with your best friend. Highly recommend him if you can choose.

Fun for the whole family

By Tatiana M |

You can either drive in your own vehicle or ride a wagon through the zoo. I highly recommend the wagon. It is safer and more fun. The animals come up and you can feed them. You don't want the animals to put their head inside your car and get stuck. It is a wonderful day to spend a day, especially when the weather is nice. bring your own picnic, there are tables. In addition, there is a nice playground for the kids.

Exceeded Expectations

By Edgemore |

Drive your own car or take wagon ride through about a three mile dirt road full of exotic animals. Brave souls can leave windows down and have animals stick their head into your vehicle. After the drive you can walk through an area to see other animals and a petting area. I was pleased to see how healthy the animals appeared. You definitely will need a car wash after visiting but it will be well worth it. Great fun for all ages.

The Lazy 5 Ranch, Horse Drawn Wagon Tour

By Colby S |

We started out with the wagon tour of the park, then drove our car thru afterwards. The wagon tour is by far the better way to go, as the horse driver gives commentary about the animals and some personal stories or quips thrown in. Passengers are given a bucket of food to feed the animals as the wagon stops throughout the park. Various animals such as Emu, Llamas, Giraffes, Pot Bellied Pigs, Deer, Goats, and Ostrich come right up to you expecting a handout. Nice sitting area for groups, petting area (mostly goats), and some various bird sanctuaries. Our wagon driver, Albert, gave a great ride through the main park!

Worth driving an hour to!

By Colin O |

Came here during the week (was told weekends are crazy busy) and although it was a little pricey, I felt it was well worth it. Came shortly after it opened and experienced barely any waits throughout the park. It was a little slower at some points when the animals were grouped together, particularly at the front. Made it through the entire safari in about 90 min.

We didn't feed the animals because we had our kids look out the back of our trunk instead. Regardless, animals will get right next to your car (and for cars that were feeding, they were often sticking their heads right in!). A little stressful, especially at the beginning that the animals might scratch the car, but they were very well behaved.

Some of the highlights include the giraffes, zebras, water buffaloes and some Texas longhorns. The kids loved it and already can't wait to go back!

We had a fun time! We laughed so much, at how each other reacted to the animals that came to their window. Coming again!

By Mary B |

The Llama's were fun, soft, and would follow us. Hold tightly to your bucket of food. Read the instructions on how to feed the different animals or you will lose the whole bucket in a few minutes.

Great day with the kids!

By Eric M |

What a great time! I cannot believe this was close to where we lived!! Bring a vehicle you don't mind getting dirty to have the best experience possible.

Up Close In Person!

By ASnyder29 |

I have been here several times on field trips with children and friends. I think Lazy 5 Ranch is amazing and love how one gets to experience being so up close in person with the animals. The wagon holds about 15 ppl and there are buckets of food provided (more than enough) to feed the animals. The guides are very knowledgeable and teach you multiple facts about each animal such as their behaviors, native country, appetite, and much more. Many people wonder about the safety of being so close to the animals, but I have never felt unsafe. The ride is affordable and I recommend it to any visitor or anyone wanting to do something out of the norm.

Great experience

By Molly F |

This was a fun family field trip. The place is very clean and organized. You can either drive your car through or ride on the hay ride. All of the animals are very sweet and kid friendly. They walk right up to you and eat right out of your hand. Just an overall great experience!!

LAZY 5 RANCH FUN!

By RCohnM |

This was really fun. We took a wagon ride and it was not full, so we got extra feed buckets. I reccomend going on weekdays. It is less crowded then. So overall, I reccomend you to go there!

This is a great way to spend the day. Get close up with a lot of animals.

By Vickiward |

Far surpassed my expectations!
First off I highly recommend getting an advanced reservation for the wagon ride. It was well worth it. Bring cash, no cards accepted. Read the booklet they give you for the rules and helpful advice. If you take your car through, beware of the horned animals banging the car and windows. It’s helpful to just roll up the windows and they won’t put their head in the car. I had an amazing time here. Emma drove our Percheron team Rowdy & Daisy well. She answered all our questions and pointed out the baby animals. Feeding the Watusi and Scottish Highland cattle cattle from the wagon was a lot of fun. I’ll be sure to go again and bring my friends.

Wonderful Family Day!

By Amanda K |

This place was GREAT for a family day. We were able to walk, picnic, hand feed animals, including Giraffes!! That was the highlight for me. A Wagon ride took us to meet many many other animals, bulls from India, and yaks, and... It is such a great value!

Best place ever

By JuBa14 |

Amazing how all of these animals live in harmony. This is a must day trip for all ages. We drove through and had elk, llamas, emus, deer and other animals bringing their heads in for snacks and kisses. We had a blast

Hope you like emus!

By Rita A |

This is a fun, relatively inexpensive activity -- great for families or dates! Don't break the rules, though, folks. Rules are there for your safety!

Prepare for Giggles

By Wimzical307 |

I don't know when I've laughed more than during our trip through the Lazy 5. We drove our own car, although if you have a new car you'll want to take the wagon. Hang on to your food bucket. Great family or couples fun. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem

By RADIOBOY23 |

We visited The Lazy 5 Ranch today (10/17/2020) and it was an absolute blast! I personally put this off for as long as I could since my wife has been asking to go to here for months now. I though it was just an old farm with a few farm animals mixed in with a few exotic animals. I was 100% wrong! We decided to go this morning and arrived at 10am. We paid $11.00 per person and drove in. Their really was not a wait and the weather was beautiful so that helped as well. I am not sure what the negative reviews are all about as maybe they were expecting to take their kids to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. I’ve been there and this place was a lot more fun as the animals actually come up to you, so you can feed and pet them. I’m a clean freak, so be prepared to wash your car afterwards as you will drive on a dirt path and the animals will stick there heads inside you car which was fun to experience. These animals were well fed and taken care of, so once again I’m not sure what these negative reviews are about. Some are farm animals (cows, goats, pigs (and babies), donkeys, buffalos, deer, etc) so they may be dirty as I’ve never personally seen a clean goat anywhere. The exotic animals (zebras, giraffes, kangaroos, etc.) appear to be clean. My suggestion is to go early and visit their Face Book page as they give you wait times. If you go late in the day then expect to wait, so don’t complain. Take plenty of pictures and videos. Overall, we have a great time and their is absolutely no reason to not give The Lazy 5 Ranch 5 Stars!!

Lots of fun for the kids

By Sudha P |

My 4 year old had loads of fun . Carry lots of Water.
We went there twice-once took the hay ride and the next time we went in our car. I would suggest 3 buckets of feed. It will last till the end of your ride.
The animals stick their heads in the window when we try to feed them. Do not take your nice/new car, chances of getting a scratch is possible. The feed tends to spill over and gives a foul smell in the car.

Absolutely Amazing!

By KGM |

I had an absolute ball feeding the animals from my car. This was truly a priceless excursion for me. My son is severely autistic and will not go to the zoo with me, but he will ride in the car. The Lazy 5 Ranch is wonderful. I got to feed the animals and my Son got to watch and laugh at me. I loved seeing baby pigs, ostiches, calf, deer, and the baby girafee. I got to feed the goats, llamas, elk, ostriches, and deer. Be mindful of the goats jumping on your car. They will scratch the paint but it looks like it will buff out. The llama and ostriches will come in the windows! It is too cool. Hold tight to the buckets of food cause the animals can knock it out your hand if you are not careful. I got 2 buckets of feed and would put a little in the 1st bucket once they ate all of it to make it last longer. I would probably get 3 buckets next time. You even get to see water buffalo! The trip is truly amazing!!!!

Fun in the sun

BE SURE TO WEAR A HAT.EXPERIENCE HAS TAUGHT ME TO TAKE DAMP RAG IN ZIPLOCK. PLUS BOTTLE OF WATER . VERY ENJOYABLE. EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN, HEALTHY ANIMALS, FRIENDLY STAFF. I HAVE LIMITED MOBILITY AND EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL. IT WAS SUCH A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE WITH MY GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. I COULD NOT WALK AROUND ENCLOSED PETTING AREA BUT THEY COULD NOT STOP TALKING ANOUT THAT. WAITING FOR CHILDREN I WAS SEATED WITH GREAT ADVANTAGE TO OBSERVE STAFF. HORSES EXCHANGED AFTER EACH ROUND, RUBBED DOWN, WATERED UNDER SHOWER LOOSED IN NICELY KEPT PADDOCK TO REST ONE ROUND WHICH IS ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF. REALLY GLAD WE WENT.

So much fun!

By Krista P |

This was the first time we have driven through a park like this with our own vehicle and I have to say it was a lot of fun! It was neat to feed so many different animals so we highly suggest more than one bucket of food. It was also very cool to see zebra up close and personal even though you can't feed them. We enjoyed walking around the small exhibit area after our drive, too.

Family fun

By ghostwalknc |

Wonderful place to take the kids and kids at heart! You are able to see so many animals up close and personal and the is very little walking involved.

Unique and fun

By Grace S |

The wagon rides are wonderful The drivers are very knowledgeable and friendly. A unique experience for all ages. Well worth the money. Feeding the animals is is fun and educational. We went on the first ride of the day when we left it was mobbed (Sunday) Glad we went early.

A Very Rewarding Day for All

We attended this ranch on a Monday and arrived at 12:30 PM to no crowds at all. They have a wonderful petting zoo for folks of all ages and have a car drive through as well as horse wagon rides through the safari park. The prices are outrageously cheap considering what you get for the price.

A two quart bucket of food is only 3 dollars and it lasts forever as you feed the llamas, zebu, goats, sheep and cattle.
The landscaping is quite impressive and surrounded large cages of different birds and some ringtail lemurs. The entire place is immaculate with hand washing dispensers everywhere and clean bathrooms.

The true highlight of the day was the wagon ride where everyone sits in a large open wagon and gets plenty of free feed for the animals wandering on the ranges so you can feed the wildlife. The animals walk right up to you, eat from your hands and allow you to pet them.
The most exciting were the giraffes with their blue tongues that they would stick out for food. Every animal was in excellent health (attesting to the meticulous care and respect they receive and completely gentle and safe for the youngsters. It was a very worthwhile day for all ages from 4 to 73.

The only food available is corn dogs and cheeseburgers cooked in a microwave and some good ice cream.

We highly recommend this to everyone.

Family outing

By R0sanne62 |

We had a great day at the Ranch. We took the wagon ride through the ranch. We were provided food to feed the animals. We took our 3 year old grandson and he loved the experience.
After the wagon ride we walked the property where we could pet and feed the animals.
There are two concessions there for snacks or burgers.
This is a very well planned experience.

Probably a 5 for animal lovers

By Cathy F |

We took our 2 year old granddaughter ( really we took our daughter in law who is an animal lover to the nth degree!.) Most of the animals were in an open wooded area with plenty of room to roam. They were well fed and seemed to be well cared for. I would recommend going on their wagon as sometimes the animals get aggressive going after the food. Your car might get hurt. Also you can see better. The guide was very nice and a careful driver of the wagon. The other tourisst were pretty bad about doing as they were told --feeding a couple of animals we were asked not to feed and not sitting down in the wagon when it was time to move on. Some drivers also opened their car doors. Not smart! If you want to get up close and personal with the animals, this is your chance. I did notice a couple of things the management could have done better. Several of the hand sanitizer dispensers were empty. There were lots of dispensers around though. When we first arrived we did not get much direction on things to do while waiting for our carriage ride. Their brochure did not really show their petting zoo and other detail. They really should improve the brochure so people could be more self directed. The staff seemed to be getting the horses ready and not really around to guide us. Also the website is not up to date on the opening time which was more like 12:20. If you are fickle about diseases, you should not take a 2 year old as there is no way you can keep their hands out of their mouths every minute. They also advise you that NC Law protects agritourism businesses from liability for injuries, infections etc so you should be aware of the slight risks you are taking. There are so many friendly animals, animal lovers will love it.

Such an awesome place!!

By Heather C |

We went for a school field trip and I was a parent chaperone with them this day. I can honestly say that this was the most fun I’ve ever had at a zoo!!!! The kids all had a blast the parents and the teachers all had a blast no one wanted to leave at the end of the day and we all wanted to take the wagon ride again!! I do suggest the wagon as if you take your vehicle you Will have animals very up close and personal to your vehicle.

Lazy 5

By Jennifer W |

This was a very "up close" encounter with the animals. We enjoyed the wagon ride, staff were all friendly.

Love it ❤️❤️

By William L |

I will definitely be back. I loved to see the animals and have them walk up and stick heads in car to get to feed. It was surreal!!

If you want to just take a bit to get away with a friend or loved one this is a unique experience.

It is cash only so bring cash to get in.

Great for everyone

By Susan B |

Went with a group of ten, adults and small children. Everyone had a great time! Definitely do the wagon, its great!

LAZY 5!!

Lovely summer trip for children, campers, family or friends. All ages could find something awesome here. Best around!

Great for kids of all ages

By jmay0418 |

We visited with our kids (15, 14, 11, 10, 2) on a Tuesday morning while staying in Davidson, NC. Cash only, there are a few banks with ATMs on the way through town. We opted to travel in our own vehicle and not get feed as we thought our toddler would be frightened if the large animals got too close. Animals visible from the moment we turned into the gate. Held the 2 year old in my lap as we want through so he could see. Even the teens exclaimed and laughed at the antics and variety of animals we saw. Took about 90 minutes to drive through, then we took 20 minutes to wander through the zoo-type area with kangaroos, goats, birds, peacocks. Could have spent 3 hours as they also had a playground. Maybe just slightly overpriced for the value but something the whole family could enjoy.

Such a fun time!

By Carolyn D |

This was the one of the best things my husband and I have done since moving to Charlotte. The staff was really friendly and you could tell the animals were very well taken care of. They came right up to the car! It did take us 4 hours to go through but we didn’t mind bc it got us out of the house. Def will return!

Fun

By opichardo |

So much fun. We have been to other drive thru zoos in west palm beach and you hardly get to see animals. This place is AMAZING you get to feed and pet numerous animals all along the trail. We opted out of the wagon ride because it was hot out and we are glad we did because the baby was scared of the large animals. But for the rest of us it was a great day. We will return numerous times.

Great Place for Kids, of all Ages

By Barbara M |

Arrived by 11 am and the kids were so excited. By the time we were ready we got inline for the road trip. The animals came right up to our vehicle, all seven of our kids were laughing and giggling as we went thru the park and they got to feed all of them. We had lunch then played on the pirate ship. After we went to the walking area and the children saw more excitement, The animals are so friendly and by 3 pm the kids were exhausted. A lovely day.... We all had fun... Even the 4 grandma's hehe

Nice family destination

By hoss77rcb |

Lazy 5 is a really neat place although I would strongly recommend going in the first half of the day. When we got there around 4pm all of the animals must have been full because none of them came up to the wagon. It was still neat to see the animals close and the staff is really knowledgeable. We will go back but in the morning.

Great place for animal lovers

By Leandro M |

Perfect place for a close contact with several types os animals. Huge circuit and very well maintained. Highly recommended.

Amazing Fun with a SMELL

By TheRealBianKaWithaK |

First off I would like to say that THIS PLACE is in the boonies to say the least. Our map said turn left, turn right turn diagonal, back up, look right, sneeze, well you get the picture LoL.
Now back to the FARM..
We pulled in and the line of cars stretched back to the street, since it was our first time we were confused because animals were walking around near the cars entering all Willy Nilly and we had no desire to drive thru with our new SUV. We called and reserved our wagon ride for 4:45pm and was told to be there by 3pm which was weird.
Our toddler was so SIKED as we drove through the line and the animals were everywhere. Once to the gate we paid and was told that the reason we were told to come by 3 was 1) time to get through the line and 2) Time to see the farm before our wagon ride because by the time our wagon ride would end the farm will be closing and we wouldn't have time to see much. That was a super plus because not knowing this or being told to come early we would've just come right before our wagon ride and not had the opportunity that we had to walk around and see and feed so many animals.

We enjoyed the animals, the smell not so much but exploring the farm and various animals was amazing. The best part was the over a hour long wagon ride as our driver (horse conductor) was very well versed on the animals and taught us a lot. I know we would've received this level of information driving through. The wagon reservation is a must and will be the highlight of your visit. Remember you can't feed the Zebra or the cows that are red in color as they have both top and bottom teeth and will be aggressive when hungry.

Great Sunday Funday for our family.
The drive thru portion is AT YOUR OWN RISK as there are huge animals that like to climb up on your car and such so BEWARE & believe me TAKE the WAGON..

GREAT FIND IN NORTH CAROLINA

By sweetlou27 |

Lot’s of fun particularly when you ride thru on a horse pulled wagon. You can purchase food for feeding the giraffes, buffalo and llamas. You can get up close from the wagon and the walk thru. They also have a picnic area. Very reasonably priced.

Messy fun time!

By Kathy K |

My friend took me here and I had no idea what we were in for! We bought buckets of food to give the animals and started our adventure. The llamas were very eager to have the food and stuck their heads right into the car! I was a bit overwhelmed by the bison, they're so big and strong. I loved the pot-bellied pigs and their babies. It was a fun hour or so driving then another hour walking around. They do need to relabel their bird enclosures and jazz up their gift ship a bit of tho.

Great place to take the kids

By ChristyLouJohnson |

Followed the previous reviews and came early. Definitely recommend coming earlier in the day. Purchased ten buckets of feed and had a blast. It was a wonderful experience. After the drive through we went to the playground area and had icecream, funnel cake, and floats. Worth the drive. Can't wait to go back. You might need to vaccum some feed pellets out of the car afterwards.

Loved it!

By Ro256 |

We had heard great reviews so we decided to try it. We had so much fun. If you haven't visited you should! Fun for all ages! We had a lot of kids on the wagon and they made it even more enjoyable!

Nice Plact to visit and friendly employees

By kdocwra |

This place was a nice place to visit and my only complaint was expecting more animals as they no longer have a rhino I did not see any camels and their map they give you is terrible they should make it more detailed so you know what they have such as the animals in the cages and what areas you can walk to. Kids had a good time feeding the animals,

Awesome Farm Experience

By Jillian K |

My fiancé, daughter, son and niece (age range from 13-62), loved our visit this last weekend. We drove our car and went at our own pace. We had two buckets of feed which was more than enough.
The variety of animals is impressive. We are big animal lovers. My fiancé and I have been to Uganda on a three week safari & we still loved this experience.
Our car needs a wash inside and out but we enjoyed the up close experience 100 percent. We saw lots of baby animals. The animals seem to have lots of open space.

FAMILY FUN

By kellycK4470PI |

This is a great place to take people of all ages! I have taken students on field trips here and also have had family trips here! It's a great place and a lot of fun!

If you're in Charlotte with a family looking for something to do, it's worth a trip to the Lazy 5 Ranch.

By Derek Y |

The experience at the Lazy 5 Ranch is a fun filled morning or afternoon for the whole family. Driving through 200 acres of 700 plus animals is an experience worth checking out at least once. The animals for sure make themselves comfortable with cars containing feed buckets. The wagon ride is also a fun time to get up close and personal with the wildlife.

It's a relatively inexpensive way to spend a morning/afternoon with the family and put some smiles on the little ones faces.

Super Fun- as long as you get there SUPER early!

By Kristen D |

We moved to Mooresville recently and wanted to try out Lazy 5 Ranch. It was supposed to be a warm day, so we got there right when the gates opened- we were the first car through so we got a TON of animal attention. This was a blast for all of us, but the downside was the animals actually jumped up to put their hooves on our car doors to get to the food, so we left with quite a few scratches and scuff marks on the door.

I would DEFINITELY advise getting there early- as we were finishing, there was a giant line forming at the head of the trail. They offer open horse-drawn carriage tours through the park, so there was a carriage moving slowly down the trail, followed by a large number of other cars. I don't imagine it'd be super fun to be stuck in a huge line through the whole park!

Lots of fun!

By Agreen200 |

I have taken my children here for years! Riding in the wagon and feeding the animals is so much fun! It is great to see how much space the animals have and how they are well taken care of. Great place to come as a group and fun for all ages!

Unique Experience - so funny and delightful

By Katharina |

This was such an amazing experience! We had so much fun and enjoyed roughly 2h in the park so much! The price is reasonable and the drive through park is huge, with plenty of animals to feed, pet or simply watch. You gotta follow the instructions though, because getting out of the car could be seriously dangerous. We had such a great time and laughed so much feeding all the Llamas, Ostriches, Cows and all the other animals.
The owners are doing a really good job with this ranch and all the animals seem healthy and happy.
I would come back anytime!

Vacation with Grandson

By Rakesh Khare |

We visited Lazy Ranch with my 2 yr old grandson. It is a 5 mile drive in the ranch. In the Ranch we could experience fun seeing the domestic and exotic animals such as Zebra, Giraffe, cattle, sheep, Buffalo, Ring tailed Lemurs, Lama, Peacock, Pheasants, tropical birds etc. My grandson was overjoyed.
The place was excellent with value for money. The ticket price was not much and there is concession for children and senior citizens.
Small gift shop and snack shop is also there. However more snacks should be added.
A good place for enjoyment and day out especially for kids.

Have you fed a water Buffalo lately?

By Erika Lynn |

I have! And a bison! An emu! An ostrich! And any number of types of goats, deer, pigs. Don’t feed the zebra or long horns though! Zebras are rumored to bite. Long horns? Well, their horns are too long!!!
It’s a drive thru zoo experience you’ll never forget! I’ve yet to enjoy the wagon ride. It’s on my to do list some time! I’ve been 3 times in the 4 years I’ve lived here. I absolutely love and highly recommend visiting!

Drive through ranch great for all ages!

By Kari Humphrey S |

My husband and I drove through Lazy 5 this fall to feed the animals and enjoy something a little different. We arrived as the gates opened and each purchased a tub a food. It took us a little over an hour. There were very few cars and the animals came right up to the car to be fed.

We attended in the August heat so being there first thing meant the animals were fresh and relaxed since it was over 100 degrees for months! It was in the 70's and perfect for a drive with the windows open.

By the time we left it was a busy, busy place! The wagons of children were starting their tours and all of the other activities had started as well.

If you have older children, or you want a different day date idea, we recommend Lazy 5 drive through tour. It is a beautiful property! We enjoyed the peace, quiet, and closeness of the animals. It is a wide open ranch unlike anything else I have experienced.

It is a must see in Mooresville.

Warning: the animals are not shy about stopping your car and demanding food. :) We thought it was hilarious. Enjoy.

An AMAZING family outing!

By febreze51 |

This ranch offers UP CLOSE interaction with a variety of animals! It is absolutely incredible. WE chose to take our family through the ranch on the wagon ride. WE also bought an extra bucket of feed...glad we did as we were busy feeding animals at every stop! I would recommend the wagon ride vs. driving through on your own. Listening to what the wagon driver had to say about the animals, etc, was very interesting, and helpful. We have never experienced any kind of up close feeding with wild animals ever. Our family was thrilled and couldn't stop smiling from all the interactions. Bring a camera and have a designated camera person for the group....and click away, as we came away with the most fantastic photos ever! It was chilly the day we went, but we bundled up and the animals didn't care! :-)

Wagon for the Win

By Lorrie W |

The horse-pulled 'wagon' for younger kids was a win! A safe experience looking down/ out on animals!

Can I get use more STARS to rate!

By Tiffany R |

Where to begin? Animals seem happy, they are deco Italy well fed! They are used to vehicles rolling through and use caution as to not damage your vehicle. This is the most awesome mesh of human to animal experience I have ever had. You can actually touch the animals and they are gentle. One herding animal did take my whole bucket of feed, but it wasn't aggressive. I was truly amazed at how the animals had adjusted to the human contact. The animals seemed to enjoy it as much as the humans. My niece decided that is what she wants to do for her bday, which means she chose this over a camping/tubing trip.

Nice for kids

By Sidgi A |

It was very nice to go early so you can feed the animals...drive slowly when you are inside...the animals so friendly..dont feed the graf..

LOVE IT!

By jhangorman |

always love it. my daughter enjoyed coming to lazy 5 ranch. she had birthdays here and as well as Easter Sunday :)

Must visit for animal lovers

By Sonali S |

This was one amazing place! Loved the experience here. Pay $11 and park your car and take the truck ride or chose to take your own car (although I’d recommend against it. We had a few scratches on ours and the animals come close to your car if you plan on feeding them) Once inside the ranch you will see all kinds of farm animals! From deers, ostriches, alpaca to different breeds of cattle , giraffe and zebra! The animals come super close and lick your hands if you allow them to! I did fear a few when they were right on my face! Lol. But it was amazing. Kids will love it. Must visit if you love animals! There is a separate area where you will find birds and peacocks on the right side on the entrance.

A time to remember and enjoy

By StephPevey |

This place is amazing! I wanted to do the wagon ride thru but once I got there I found out you have to make reservations days in advance so we opted to drive thru. The kids loved it. This is for all ages. You can see and interact with all types of animals. I highly recommending buying the buckets of feed as you can get up close and personal with the animals. It seems kind of expensive going in especially if you have a big group (we had 11) but it is well worth the money. It last for hours and is a true fun experience you will never forget. We all loved it!

Birthday visit for giraffe loving daughter

By brennbug |

We took the wagon ride and had so much fun. A wonderful zoo experience. Up close to all the animals. Highly recommend!

Combination of petting zoo, animal safari, and Jurassic Park.

By Kyle P |

This was a great experience. My girlfriend and three year old loved it. I would recommend doing the wagon ride the first time you go through. It’s a little more expensive, but really worth it. We will probably be back even though it’s a 4.5 hour drive. BRING CASH! They don’t have an ATM and the only way to get cash is a country market about a half mile down the road that you have to buy something and get cash back. Highly recommended!

Great fun!

By MimiPalomo |

We were planning a visit to some nearby cities in NC, saw the Lazy 5 Ranch as highly rated on Trip Advisor and just so happen to love animals - so we made a visit to the ranch. We loved it!!! It was just my husband and I, which I was worried about at first thinking that it might just be for kids. Not a chance. We both had a blast and laughed the entire time. It was just so cool to see and feed the animals up close. And in such an aweome, large, open area. I just read the one and two star reviews (many of which are several years old so they don't really apply) and I have to say those people are way off and seem like crab apples. First, these animals aren't in small cages like many zoos, but are in an unbelievably large, open, very natural habitat. Second, they clearly did not visit the Ranch's website or read their brochure before entering since many complained about damage to their cars. Expect maybe some scratches, animal drool and hair in/on your vehicle if you drive through. If you want to avoid that, do the wagon ride. Anyway, it was well worth they money and the workers we came across were all friendly: the teen girl at the gate, another teen girl driving through the park on a four-wheeler waved to us and the senior citizen woman at the concession stand was very nice. All in all, one of the highlights of our trip to NC.

Fun

By Miha C |

Great getaway from the city. Very enjoyable and relaxing trip, close to Charlotte. Friendly and helpful staff. Driving thru with your car or in the wagon and feeding the animals can be a great experience especially for the young children.

Feed the animals!

By ArleneJD |

What fun we all had (ages 2 to 75) on a horse-drawn wagon ride through a preserve for a wide variety of wild animals. Yaks, llamas, zebras, water buffalo, ostriches and giraffes to mention just a few. The kids loved feeding them. We followed up with a walking tour of the petting zoo. If you are in the Mooresville NC are, this is an attraction not to be missed!

Great trip for our granddaughter

By kimberlyp871 |

We took our granddaughter here . We thoroughly enjoyed the wagon ride . Appreciated that the food for animals were included . So many baby animals !
Loved seeing the tiny pot belly pigs .

Rude staff

By Sweetlike C |

Staff very rude and smart at the mouth via phone explained to the young white girl that I ran into a bad car wreck coming from Durham and that my reservation was for the 3:15 ride today and that I would be there until 2:54 I was told that despite the drive I had taken we wouldn’t be able to get on the 3:15 wagon. Remind you I called and gave them my name and party size at 12. To have people waiting in line 45 minutes in this heat is ridiculous but to get smart with someone over the phone is bad business

Repetitive but good

By M. Burgher |

With social distancing we hit this drive through zoo of sorts. My youngest son really enjoyed the animals and seeing them so close. But it was a lot of the same over and over. Cows, pigs and goats were in great abundance, but several other species as well.

They seemed high on security with many vehicles driving through collecting trash and herding animals (seemingly) but trucks with the bed filled with kids was all over. I thought it looked a little unsafe... but not my circus. Also looked as though you could loop through as much as you liked for the one admission fee.

Awesome especially for kids

By damrph2016 |

We loved this place. Like any animal park there is always a possibility that your car could get damaged but the animals were really cute. You have to keep car windows closed if you dont have food and even if you do the animals will try to stick their heads in. There is a walking area with a garden also that is nice. Better to go when it is cooler especially if you take the wagon ride. Its a bit off the beaten trail and could use some better signage. But all and all it was great. Cant wait to take my grandson.

Fun day at the park!!!

By imodelrr |

Great hay ride through the animal reservation was awesome. Kids loved the hay bale structures and the corn play area.

School

Fun and educational

By Jennifer C |

I loved my visit here. I learned a lot, had access to lots of animals and it was closer and cheaper than going to a zoo.

Great Experience

By DOwens240 |

Our family enjoyed this place! The animals were awesome. Staff and grounds are well maintained. The kids had the opportunity to engage with the animals and wnhoued feeding them. The wagon adventure was amazing! Our driver was entertaining and provided a wealth of information about animals and ranch. Great experience and will definitely be back to visit.

Fun feeding animal from our truck!

By marianne g |

What a fun time driving through this animal park! For $8.00 a piece ($6.00 for children)and $3 a bucket of feed, you can ride through the park feeding animals inside the convenience of your vehicle. We encountered a llama that came to my window and so I fed him some feed. As soon as he ate it he spit it across the truck and my husband and son and I started laughing hysterically. My son says what is that terrible smell, I guess it was the llamas breath! This was to funny! Next time we go we are taking our grand daughters. I know they will love it! After the car tour you can park and visit the birds and turkeys, camels, peacocks, kangaroos and many other animal. There is a place to wash your hands outside when you are done feeding the animals. They have a covered picnic area to eat under, so if you want to bring a picnic lunch you can do that. This is a nice family activity to do for a couple of hours.

Grew up here and never been there!!

By Be C |

Why I had never been to lazy 5, I don't know! But it's pretty cool! Camels, alpacas, giraffes etc.etc.. Apparently (and of course) you enter at your own risk, but these are pretty docile animals for the most part. If your around, take the kids...it's a cool thing to see!

The most fun ever!

By Wiseguys4jc |

Except for the rude staff member at the entrance gate who took our money and gave us no help at all as first time visitors, we had the most fun we have ever had in a long time. gma is not able to walk so the best choice for us was to do the car safari. We entered the 3 hour tour trail at about noon which was perfect because by 3 pm the animals go into nap time and they are not very interactive. Starting the self driven tour at noon allowed us to pet and feed a ton of animals! I counted more than 24 different types of animals on the drive and there are very large numbers of these various types. Since gma can't walk we did not get to see the many other animals that are at the main areas of the game farm type zoo. There are so many good things I can say about the animals that its too much to write. All I will say is GO! If you like animals, you will have the time of your life! I can't wait to go back and see all that I missed the first time. The only complaint we have is the cold staff member at the gate and the filthy ladies room. Everything else was great! oh and the buckets of food for the animals are not expensive either. Buy an extra one and save it for the last hour. most of the cars on our route, including us, ran out by then and we felt bad for the poor animals that lost out because of it. PS. I loved the white Seca deer and the female Elk (I think they were elk lol). They were so sweet! I hope to go back many more times when I visit NC.

Don't drive your car do the wagon ride

By Rebecca B |

I went to the Lazy 5 Ranch with my son and 2 grandchildren 3 years and 1 yesr old. We had an absolute blast feeding the animals and getting to see them right in your face. My granddaughter was scared at first but once she fed a couple of the animals, she became comfortable and loved feeding and petting the animals. The 1 year old liked the animals coming up to the windows. Please beware that the animals have horns and the sometimes get a little greedy trying to eat the food. They will jump in your window opening to get the food and when they come down their horns can scratch your car. Also, if possible hold the buckets very tightly outside of the car or you'll have feed all over the place. My sons car did get scratched and we made a mess with the feed but we had a blast experiencing this with his daughter and my granddaughter. We'll go back when they are offering the wagon rides.

Loved it!!

By Debra G |

Wow, lovely farm with so many species of healthy well cared for animals in such a beautiful environment ! Tons of fun to get to see them all up close! Takes about an hour to drive slowly though. So wonderful to see so many varieties of animals large and small scampering about, walking up to the car to say hello and perhaps get offered a little food. You can get food to feed them when you pay at the entrance...we took a long, leisurely drive through. You can also pay to take a wagon ride though...either way it's just fantastic!! Love how friendly and trusting all of the animals were coming right up to the car windows.Cannot wait to go back!!

Kids and family enjoy

By 609annh |

Visitors can ride a wagon in the zoo to see wild animals close up. They can feed some of them from your hand. The guide gives information about the animals and will answer questions. We've been there with preschool groups and with elementary school field trips. There is a place to have a picnic for and a playground. Also there was a small area to see and pet smaller animals. We had a great time each time we have visited. When you look at the prices, remember the best experience is the wagon ride - it includes admission, your own drive thru, and is informative. Call to make a reservation - they can get busy. They do not take credit/debit cards - cash and check only.

Fun for all ages!

By Karen M |

Lazy 5 is a must do experience for everyone. Drive through with your car or ride the wagon and see tons of animals. You can purchase food to feed them. The animals will come right up to you! Lots of fun and laughs too when the animals are trying g to steal your whole feed bucket!

Nice trip and park

Very good place for young kids 8 and under. Had a good time feeding animals and enjoyed the park. Employees were very nice and helpful.

The Best Drive Thru Zoo

By Cathryn G |

We were two cars of adults. We have never laughed so much on a zoo trip. From entering the gates to the final turn out. We were first in on a Sunday after Thanksgiving. The animals were eager to come to the car. They all have their own personalities which provided much laughter and squeels from all of us. Favorite were the water buffalo whose head was too big to get in car window - they stood next to car and just opened thier mouths while we gently thre food pellets in. Best 2 hours I have spent in a long time. Then did walk thru exhibits, which were a little disappointing, but could have been just change in season (the area is also experinecing a drought). All in all a very fun n day. Cant wait to take my nephews through there.

Don’t Take your car in there!!!!!!

By Emily R |

They should warn you that the animals ABSOLUTELY WILL DAMAGE YOUR CAR!!!! Have major damage on front and all the way down both sides of truck which will be thousands to have fixed!!!

Loved this place!!!

By LeAnna B |

We had so much fun at this place! We did pay extra to take the wagon ride through rather than driving in our own vehicle and I definitely do recommend it!

We got so many pictures hand feeding many different types of animals.
The drivers of the wagons are very knowledgeable and provided great insight.

This place doesn't really advertise much at all and it's quite a gem!!

Our family has been making a trip every summer for three years now. We look forward to it every year. I recommend this park to everyone looking for something to take the family too.

Family Fun at the Lazy 5

By Bob Adams |

With our granddaughters visiting from Texas, my wife and I planned several special fun days, and one of those was at the Lazy 5 Ranch.

We took a picnic lunch and made use of the shelter to enjoy some time before we went on the trail.

Having been before, we made a few changes to our SUV “safari vehicle” - draping towels over the back hatch, popping the glass hatch up, a stool for mom, and two buckets of animal feed - and we were off!

Even on a hot day, the animals were not shy about coming up to the vehicles - obviously conditioned to do so. For the entire trip around the Ranch, the girls were talking to the animals, naming them, feeding them, and laughing at all their antics.

We had a good time, and created memories that will last a long time.

AMAZING North Carolinan Safari!!!!! Just go!

By expat_mbk |

I don't know the last time I laughed this hard!!!!!!! These animals think they're starving and are SO AGGRESSIVE!!!! We kept seriously getting close to being impaled by sets of horns that kept getting stuck in our car!!!! Our rental car got several big 3-4 inch dents in it (our fancy credit card covered the insurance - whew!!) and all four doors are covered in scratches from little hooves! Definitely take their wagon ride rather than your own car! And get three buckets of feed - you won't regret it!!!!!!
I have no idea how this place is safe, or how an insurance company would ever cover this pile of liabilities, but I'm so happy it exists!!!!! I literally liiiiiiterally died laughing!!!! ;) ;) ;)

I was scared and happy all at the same time lol

By PeteD |

If you love animals, have adventurous spirit and don't mind your car getting animal feed all in it and a few horn scratches on the outside then this is your place. I don't know what I was thinking other than this might be a lame petting zoo and a way to spend some time with my wife for a hour or so. I was so wrong, this is no lame petting zoo. This place is nuts. First off, after you pay and get your buckets of feed as you start driving into the park you are rushed by giant bison, different kinds of buffalo, deer, zebras, yacks, ostriches and other large wild looking animals that the average person is going to be really unnerved when they come up to your car and stick their heads into your car right up in your face and begin to eat the animal feed and slob all over you and your car lol. My wife and I are animal lovers and former Marines and yes we were scared as heck at first. I kept thinking I was going to lose a finger or get my eye's pecked out but the animals are so used to people and gentle. My wife and I were scared and happy all at the same time. It took about 1hr to get the the gauntlet of animals running up the the car windows looking for some food. It was wild. If you have kids who love animals or you are looking for a crazy date activity then this is the place. This has to be experienced to understand what I'm talking about. Check out youtube and watch some of the video's. If I can give any advice it would be to book a seat on the wagon ride and keep the animals and the feed out of your car. It's been a week and I had the car detailed and I'm still finding animal feed dust and ruminants in my car. Also really little kids will probably be scared out of their minds so be warned.

Love this place

We make a stop here everytime we come to town. It’s always so fun and such a great time. The kids love it. It’s such a unique and different experience. Can’t beat it.

Wagon ride!

By Dean L |

Great for family and friends. Lots of neat animals to feed on the wagon ride. It lasts about an hour. They have walk around areas with birds and smaller animals as well. The kids loved it.

Great fun especially if you love animals

By Gina M |

It's hard to entertain kids, 16, 13, 11 & 8, but this did the trick. There were a wide variety of animals- zebra, giraffe, water buffalo, bison, llama, emu, ostrich, goat, and others. All the kids & myself enjoyed feeding them and watching their antics- Would definitely go again; However, it was too hot for the horse pulled wagon (so glad they did this for the horses safety), we took our van and per the previous review it got very dirty; a ram butted the vehicle, we were lucKy no damaged, we did see
another vehicle door scratched by a goat's
hoof. When we go again we will be sure to take the wagon.

2nd Visit

By SugarMagnolia923 |

We were here on Friday, September 7 in the morning. We got 5 buckets of food for the 4 of us (3 adults, one 4 year old). Before driving through, we stopped to use the rest room. Once again, it was lots of fun. There were very few other cars on the trail. We were worried that our 4-year old granddaughter would be scared but she was not. She even feed deer right out of her hand. There are a few light scratches on our van so if that's a worry, you might want to take the wagon. The last time the scratches buffed right out back at home. I would highly recommend.

So much fun !!

By Enrique M |

This facility is very well maintained, all animals look healthy and happy. Driving through the trail made me appreciate the beauty of nature and how amazing animals are. You can feed animals from your car which is awesome. My favorite part was seeing the cute baby pigs running around !! I recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience.

Great time

By cruisefeverspencer |

Went here with the school as a field trip..great lil place, really neat that the animals come right up to you

Fun for all ages!

By Tdorman |

This was so much better than expected. I would recommend this over a traditional zoo any day. The animals were able to roam freely, they were well fed and looked healthy and happy! The wagon ride was a prefect idea. My husband, teenagers and myself enjoyed it just as much as our little 2 year old niece! If you have the time, are in the area, do it, you will be happy you did!

Best way to spend a day!

By Ginger R |

We have visited Lazy 5 for many years and we love it every time! We used to take the kids when they were young and made awesome memories. Now we go back with them as adults or with other adult friends (a must do for out of town visitors) and enjoy it just as much. There is truly nothing like it. Seeing and feeding the animals never fails to make us belly laugh as they try to take food buckets and slobber all over you! Where else do you get up close and personal with such cool creatures??!! Lazy 5 is a gem and we are so lucky to have such a special place nearby. Don't miss it!!!

Family fun!

By Tiffanee J |

Awesome time. We did the ride through first, then parked and walked around. Cool variety of animals. They had a corn play area for the kids (so cool) a pumpkin shoot (buy the small pumpkins for $1), free Smore's and a large hay stack that you could climb. Everyone was nice there. Food was a little overpriced but that didn't take away from the experience. My kids had a blast (age 4 and 19)

Best fun I have had in a long time

By Syl O |

Awesome. Went for my birthday and I enjoyed this way too much. Did the wagon ride and the guide was so knowledgeable and told us how to feed the different animals. Loved pouring food down their throats. Saw new born watusi calf who was only 5 hours old. Then took the car around the park. Be prepared to get slob on your vehicle from the buffalo and watusi. It was fun the way the animals line up for their meal. Be careful also some of the gazelle looking creatures with the curly antlers like to run out of nowhere and run in front of your car. Cannot wait to go back.

Incredible

By Jeffrey L |

This place was great from the very beginning. As you pull into the gate from the main road you will see animals grazing alongside the dirt road that leads you to the office. We were greeted by two young ladies who were more than happy to give us the inside information on how to get the most of our experience. Of course there are rules and guidelines set in place for both your safety and the safety of the animals. We each purchased two buckets of food and headed towards the truck. Before even reaching the entrance of the preserve we were greeted by 3 emu who seemed more interested in the food on the ground than they were with the truck approaching. These animals are not shy at all. They will come right up to your window looking for some free handouts. The emu can be a little intimidating given their appearance and no fear of people. Proceeding through we came across some other smaller animals who like the emu will approach your vehicle the second you stop. I would recommend not dropping food right next to the vehicle if you are timid about hand feeding as they will conjugate around the food potentially blocking the road. Again no fear of people so they take their time moving. As tempting as it is to feed and pet the zebras they ask you not to whether it’s for animal safety or due to the size of the zebras. They will still gladly lean into your window looking for food. Get your camera ready and enjoy the majestic creature. This place is filled with all sorts of animals from all over the world. Keep in mind the Watisu have very very large horns and are not the most graceful of the animals and could potentially rub against your vehicle. Don’t be alarmed they were very friendly and gentle when eating. The llamas and alpacas will follow you if you’re driving slow enough and constantly remind you to feed them. The giraffes are also available to feed but stay in your vehicle around their pen as there are other large animals in the area. If you have a vehicle low to the ground it might be a challenge to feed them as they have to lean over the fence to eat but it is a sight to see when you’re feeding a giraffe. Don’t forget to stop by at the end to feed the goats and camels but heed the warning signs posted. There are also other animals available for viewing on either side of the entrance building. All in all if you don’t mind some animal drool on your car this is an amazing place to get up close and personal to animals from all over the world. Just be careful not to get your food bucket stolen bysome of the larger animals. Would highly recommend the experience.

Up close and personal with the animals

By Heidi G |

We went on weekday afternoon and there was no waiting or anyone close behind. The animals at the entrance are very pushy and I didn’t see the sign not to feed the zebras until after they shoved their heads into the car and stole food. While it was a little overwhelming for this city-raised gal, my three teens/early 20’s kids had a lot of fun and took lots of pictures. Car is a total mess. I would have rated it excellent except a horned animal dug it’s horn into my car vinyl on the door and ripped it. Bring wipes, sanitizer and maybe windex—the zebras slobbered on my side view mirrors.

Fantastic Day!!!!

By VickiTyree |

Well, I must say....we'd rather visit the Lazy 5 Ranch instead of the NC Zoo any day!!!! It was amazing to say the least!! We saw and fed so many animals, rubbed them too. My favorite was the giraffe's because I'm infatuated with them!!! I collect them and my living room is full of them :) We chose to do the wagon tour instead of our car and I'm so glad we did. The only draw back was trying to get through on the phone to make the reservation. But we finally did! We will be back!!!!

Worth the trip

By Jill D |

This experience was really fun. The road around the property was quite long so you had plenty of time to feed the animals. We got 2 buckets of food and probably should have gotten 3. The Llamas were very gentle feeders and plentiful. There plenty of pot belly pigs, emu and deer. A couple other species I wasn't sure of as well. The Zebra's tried to get food but we did not feed them as the pamphlet said they bite. A lot of the animals were at the entry but there were some around the rest of the property that came to the car. I'm not going to lie I was worried about the horns on the cows but you could avoid them rubbing on the car by holding your hand out with food. They actually open their mouths for you to drop it in. Very cute!! At the back of the property in pen were the giraffes and some sort of hog. I'm assuming they are aggressive so they weren't out. All in all this was a great experience for kids and adults. The youngest with us was 18.

Safari-Style Zoo

By Tina R |

We fully enjoyed our visit to this safari-style zoo. There were soooo many animals! We called to late to take the wagon ride so opted to drive our car through the three mile trail. This was on a very busy Saturday so the visit took about three hours, as you can only go as fast as the cars in front of you. This was fine because there were always animals near by to keep us entertained. We also chose not to feed the animals since we didn't have any children with us and we were warned that some would poke their heads into vehicles for food. However, it was fun to see the children in other cars get so excited when this happened to them. An added bonus was that we were able to keep our windows closed most of the time to avoid the zoo "aroma". We look forward to future visits.

Took grandma and niece

By Lauren G |

Do the wagon ride, you dont have to worry about your car that way. This place in my opinion is much better than the zootastic Park. The animals are roaming and seem much better kept and cared about here. The animal feeding opportunities are frequent and I’d wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty lol... my niece and surprisingly grandma really enjoyed the wagon ride and animals! I like that they actually close the park when it’s too hot for the animals and they also have shelters for them unlike the other park where they were kept in small enclosures and you could tell were not really cared about like this place.

Goats! Deer! Lots of animals!

By pawlover |

We really enjoyed going to the ranch. This was our first time driving into a drive-thru zoo. We drove through with our own vehicle and that may have been a mistake but we were too late to get on a wagon ride and could not go back another day due to the short trip to this town. On our way into the Lazy 5 Ranch we saw a bunch of animals and roaming around but only a donkey came up to our vehicle. We parked after that and went into the shop to buy tickets to go through the ranch and bought feed to throw out. The ranch has over 700 animals. The property is very pretty soo and rustic. It is a 3.5 mile trail to drive. Some of the animals include: cattle, zebras, sheep, goats, deer, giraffes, buffalo, etc.

There was a paper we got when we paid for tickets and it said the animals may autograph your vehicle and several did actually "autograph". I had told my husband before we went here that it may be a possibility. When we left we had several scratches on the doors of the driver and passenger door. If you don't want to take this risk, I highly recommend you make sure you plan your visit around getting a wagon ride. I would suggest you call up ahead of time and get a spot or ask how you can secure it.

You are allowed to honk your horn to try to get the animals to move out of the way. The goats, emus, and ostritches were the ones that really didn't want to move much. I was weary of the emus/ostritches as I had been warned it may not feel good if they hit your hands when trying to eat from the bucket so I kept my window up for them and was weary since it was my first time with this kind of experience. The speed limit is only 5mph.

We really enjoyed driving around and seeing the animals roaming free and feeding them. The little goats and deer were the cutest.

After we got done with the drive through part we actually went to the walk around area and saw more animals and fed some of the goats. I love feeding the goats. Goats are one of my favorites animals at farms and zoos. They have petting areas, a playground, picnic areas, and also a gift shop and snacks at Lazy 5 Ranch. Check out all they have to offer and stay here a few hours to enjoy it all.

It closes 1 hour before sunset so watch your time and don't cut it too short.

It was 11 bucks per adult.

We would definitely go back again if we are in the area again and also would either take the wagon ride this time or put the floor mats on the side of the vehicle to make sure we don't get anymore scratches.

So many laughs!!

By StaceyGW |

My husband and I had so much fun here! We did the drive in our own car, but I think the wagon ride would be even more fun because u get close to the giraffes and your car stays clean from food and animals, lol! Some of the animals are just so funny to watch, great time!!

Fantastic place

By Dananviv |

This was our second time coming here and it was just as much fun as the first time. With many acres of animals, funny and engaging carriage drivers, this is an excellent choice.

Great place to visit

By Marsha G |

A couple things to think about...
Don't drive your own car unless you don't care if it is scratched.
Take the wagon ride but book in advance.
Go earlier in the day when the animals are hungry. Toward the end of the day some still come to the cars/wagons but more come earlier.

Great place to enjoy the outdoors.

Super fun with or without the kids!

By Mags B |

We went to the Lazy 5 Ranch for the first time this past Sunday, July 9th, 2017. What a blast! Everyone, kids and adults had an absolute great time. We loved the opportunity to pet and feed the animals: the pigs, deer, buffalo, bulls, ostrich and zebras (do not feed the zebras). We arrived on a sunny Sunday around 3pm and the wait in line to drive into the park almost made us turn around, but we are all glad we didn't. Make sure you gas up the car and buy plenty of feed! You will love it!

Fun for all ages!

By hellen2626 |

My fiance and I went this summer when visiting the area. There was no wait to get in. We bought 2 buckets of food. You can feed all the animals expect for the Zebras. The cows, bulls and bison. They were all very friendly. Do not wash your car before you go because animals will rub up against your card or you will get slobber on your car. When the animals are eating food out of the tub, some of the food and slobber may get inside your car so get a good wash before and after.

Feeding frenzy at the Lazy 5

By Christy L |

the lazy 5 ranch is self explanatory. It is what it is...

Minor suggestions would be a “passing lane “ for the cars that want to pass others that are stopped for animal feeding, a possible restaurant at the ranch, and more restroom facilities.

Great Trip

By Mchilly77 |

Everyone was overly nice here. My niece loved getting up close and personal with all the animals she got to feed. We did the wagon ride and would absolutely do this again when she comes back to town.

Fun place for a day trip!

By Jecbd43 |

First time here, so glad we got there early. Waited about a half hour to get through the main gate. The way they directed us into the park was interesting and unorganized. Once we got through the animals we're right there and sticking their heads and bodies in the car! Was funny and the kids were amused. Lots of drewl and the animals were not frightened at all! The one thing I was not prepared for was the goats that jumped up on the car- don't drive a car you care about getting scratched! Was a nice ride through the park, took about 2 full hours. Parked after and had a picnic and walked through the petting zoo area. Hardest part was getting out- waited another half hour in line just to exit. Overall was a wonderful day and experience. Would definitely come here again!

Awesome!!!

By laurie anne d |

Had friends visiting with their teen daughters and this was truly the highlight of their trip! The animals are amazing.... the shrieks and laughs of the girls when they would come up and in the windows to get some treats was awesome!

Me and my Fiance are 23, WE HAD A BLAST.

By Darin Wilkes |

Honestly whoever gave this place a 1 or 2 star rating needs to GTFO. This place is absolutely awesome. Me and my fiance are 23 years old and we drove our car through absolute awesomeness. We came to martinsville for the race but it was postponed that sunday and I am so happy that it was. We drove about an hour and a half away to Mooresville, NC to come to this ranch. WE WILL NEVER REGRET IT. Definitely get 2 or 3 buckets of feed. The animals are beautiful and are well kept and well groomed. Who ever says this place is for kids never lived a childhood. I definatley recommend this place to anyone, kids, adults, old folk! I would definatley give the ranch 6 stars if I could.

Lazy Five Ranch

By 731danag |

This is the most unique zoo you’ll ever go through. You drive through the park and many of the animals will come right up to your car.

Poor facilities

By SJH |

A great idea and good value but let down by poor restrooms and cafe. With the number of visitors in the peak season they need to double the number of fascilities and ensure staff maintain them properly. Toilets were dirty and nowhere near the standard expected in the United Kingdom.

Liked it alot

By Passenger08899721203 |

Me and my girlfriend decided to do the wagon ride and throughly enjoyed it. The man controlling the wagon/horses was very knowledgeable with the animals on the ranch and he was also a bit comedian which made the ride more fun.

Fun...take the wagon ride

By RandyT2011 |

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and had pre-arranged reservation on a equine-pulled trailer thru the animal reserve park. I recommend springing for the extra cost... the driver was friendly, offered helpful suggestions and interesting bits of information regarding different animals encountered and how to safely feed the provided food...and not feed certain animals. The 1 hour excursion travels over variably smooth to rough terrain requiring a secure hold to trailer side at times...and may not be good for some back or joint pain sufferers. Those who choose to drive their private car thru the park need to know that some of the animals are aggressive eaters--sticking heads into car windows for more food and freely slobbering and scattering offered food on/in and around car. Additionally, the large horned animals are a risk to scratch and/ or dent car exteriors. All in all an interesting and fun outing for all age groups...I recommend without reservation except as noted above.

Fun place to visit for kids

By MooreOrLess |

Better than expected and the kids loved the animals, just made sure we steered well clear of the long horns to avoid any car damage!

Wonderful family experience driving through the ranch. Many varieties of animals to see and feed. Emu’s, Ostrich, deer, pigs, giraffe, etc. The grandkids really enjoyed it.

Crazy fun p[lace for everyone!

By Suze12171 |

LOVE this place! We visit family in the Mooresville area every year and we have gone 3 times in a row! I have never been to any place like it- the only thing similar is the Six Flags Great Adventure Safari, but here you can feed the animals by hand. The larger animals are a bit intimidating at first, but all are so docile and gentle. I'll be back!

The best day ever!

By K5822YCdougs |

Our family visited the Lazy 5 and made reservations for the wagon ride. It was absolutely the most fun for us and our 2 year old grandchild. The most interesting animals that you see, touch and feed come up to the wagon. We had a great wagon driver that told all about the animals. The ride was about an hour long but it went by so quickly. We spent the whole morning and we still didn't see it all. This is a great place for kids and adults too. A great value and an experience that you don't get anywhere else. Highly recommend for all ages. Make reservations for the wagon, bring hand sanitizer and water if it's hot.

bad

By Britt |

My family outing quickly turned into an unsatisfactory event. The animals were very dirty and looked uncared for. The amount of flies and ticks on the animals were extremely disgusting. Also, with all of the land on this property and the length of time it took us to drive through, you would think that they would provide a better scenery to experience. Full of mud and nasty swamp looking water. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone!! As my 7 year old said " mom this is boring"!

Family Fun

Wonderful outdoor adventure with the family! (Great place to entertain a 3 yr old & 9 yr old) Friendly staff, well maintained, reasonable priced, very interactive with animals

Cool place for a lazy afternoon

By Lili B |

It is a great places to take the kids but remember not to go on a hot day (you won't see the animals) and they just take cash there.

Very nice ranch

By Diana P |

I was pleasantly surprised about the variety of animals and interaction with them. We did not do the wagon ride, but staying in the car was just as phone. This was a great activity, and I would definitely do it again.

Better than a Zoo!!!

By Jenifer N |

I don't even know where to began to tell everyone how amazing Lazy 5 ranch is!!! You have the choice to drive your own car through or take the wagon, I would highly recommend taking the wagon, however you do have call in advance for the wagon. Otherwise you might get a few scratches or dents in your vehicle. We drove through and we have the scratches and dents to show for it! If you take your own car you can go through as may times as you want, we went 4 times!!! It was truely a new experience for us all! The animals come right up to your car and they are not shy about taking your bucket and running for the hills so hold on tight! Its almost like having your very own wildlife safari at your finger tips! After we drove through we went to the picnic area and had lunch they even have a little playground for the kids. They do sell food not really sure what or how much because we brought our own food and drinks. They have this watering system set up with soap so after you go through you can wash your hands!!! It is a must stop if you are in the area!!!

If you like animals it's must do!

By Chrissyike9307 |

This was so much fun! We made a reservation for the wagon ride. We didn't want to drive our car in because it was new and we were worried about the animals possibly scratching it. The open wagon was a blast! They give you a bucket of feed and the wagon is pulled by horses. They stop very often for the different animals to come right up to the wagon and you hand feed them. We feed goats, deer, water buffalo, giraffes, cattle and many others. The only animal you aren't allowed to feed are the zebras. The ride takes about an hour and it's amazing to be riding around in their environment and not looking at them from behind a fence. I would totally recommend this place to all ages. Can't wait to go back.

You can hand feed the animals

Best-ever mini safari like zoo

By New Yorker |

What a fun place!
From young Kids to adults, I bet everyone can enjoy feeding wild animals including bison, ostrich, pigs, sheep, goats, donkey, giraffes —— so many!
You can either use your own car to drive around or get on a wagon that 2 hoses pull.
Animals are so friendly and lick you if you feed or they just open mouths and you throw food in their mouths.
Big animals are a bit of scary but if you get how to feed, they are just hungry animals- not scary at all. So fun to see and feel live animals very closely.
I was honestly scared of animals getting so close to me but during the wagon ride, I got loosened up and got some idea how to feed them.
It’s probably 20-30 minutes ride but by the time we got off, we all smiled and had a lot of fun.
There’re a few hand washing sections to clean hands after touching animals.
Just enjoy!

Family fun

By Pamela J |

We love to go to Lazy 5 ranch. I do recommend the you take the wagon ride. If you drive your car you will have feed all over the inside and animal slobber on your windows. Little kids may be frightened when an animal puts their head inside the car. take a picnic to have on the grouonds.

Interesting and close up

By Tim R |

Stopped by the ranch. Lots to see. You can drive through or take a horse drawn wagon. I suggest the wagon. Gets you really close to the animals. You can feed them with ranch provided buckets of food. Camels, zebra, giraffes, bison ect, too many to list. There is a snack bar and restrooms. Nice afternoon. Friendly staff. Great photo opportunities. Wagon ride lasts almost an hour.

Favorite ranch ever!!!

By ascrappinmom |

We love this place. Anytime we are traveling and can work a side trip in to go here we do. You have to get food to feed the animals. So much fun but have a wet towel handy to wipe of the dirt and slobber. :) If you are worried about you car getting damaged take the wagon ride. That can be really hot though. The only problem we've ever had with our car is the goats want to jump up on the door. Never had a scratch though it always buffs out. feeding the Llamas is the best. They are super sweet. The petting zoo is ok but we like the drive thru ranch better.

Lazy Five is a must do!

By Jennifer A |

Lazy five offers a hay ride thru the acres and acres of all sorts of animals. They will eat right out of your hand. Kids and adults love it. Also, you can ride your car thru and still feed the animals. Some will poke their heads thru the windows :) It is really a treat to go and visit. You can bring a picnic and they have a play area for kids. It's a nice experience for all ages!!

Fun for all ages

By Tommie A |

We visited the Lazy 5 Ranch on August of 2018. My first impression was that it was very clean and neatly landscaped. We got a bucket of feed and proceeded to feed the many goats, sheep, donkeys, and 2 camels in near the front entrance. You have to make a reservation for a wagon ride to see the other animals and you must arrive 45 minutes prior to wagon departure time. Not really sure why this is necessary. I can see 15 minutes, but 45?? In response to some other reviews about driving your car through, why on earth would you do that? Do you really think your car isn't going to get damaged by free roaming animals looking for food? Having said that, I HIGHLY recommend the wagon ride. The barn where the you gather for the wagon ride was immaculate. I have been riding horses my whole life and have never seen a barn this clean. Not a cobweb in sight. I was happy to see that the horses were watered after each run and I'm pretty sure they were not used on back to back rides. They seemed happy and well cared for. I have to say, once you enter the area where the animals roam free, I got a little nervous because the first animal you encounter is the watusi cow. They just stand wherever they want and don't seem to fearful of the draft horses pulling the wagon. Once we were passed them, I fully enjoyed the ride. Got up close to yaks, bison, llamas, etc. It was really fun.
Cons: 1) one of the wagons was piloted by a guy who had only been working there for 2 weeks and he almost jack knifed the wagon. I don't think he was ready to take people out. Definitely needed more practice. 2) the enclosures were not marked. I have no idea what any of the birds were. 3) the bathrooms could use an upgrade 4) they don't take credit cards 5) the wagon drivers had walkie talkies and there may have been workers in areas that I could not see, but I feel like there should have been employees out with the animals as protection for both the animals and the patrons. 6) the 'Trading Post' was nothing to write home about. I think they are missing out on making additional money by having a better variety of things to sell, ie, water, snacks, souvenirs, etc.
All in all, we had a great time and I would definitely go back. Feeding the little goats and donkeys was the best part for me. The lemurs were pretty awesome too!

So fun! Get there at open!

By Amanda M |

Exceeded all expectations. Get there right at opening time to avoid long lines on weekends. Animals are funny and friendly. If you are thinking about going, bring a blanket to cover up your floor/seats from the feed and some hand wipes for after!

Fabulous! Take the wagon ride (not your car). Call ahead for reservations.

By TranquilGardenMom |

Great for adults and kids. My husband was as excited as our daughter to feed the buffalo and giraffes.

We called ahead and made reservations for the wagon ride.

Here's why I don't recommend riding in your car. You can't go off road to where the animals are (like the wagons do). Your vehicle will get scratched up from the animals antlers being near when feeding and the hooves of goats, etc.... Some regulars hung towels out their windows and down the doors to save their paint jobs.

In addition, there are some bottle necks where if someone stops their car to feed an animal in front of you, you can be waiting in a line of cars for 15 minutes to get around each bottle neck. For most of these bottle necks, the wagons can go around and go off roading.

It's not that much more expensive to ride the wagon than go in the car. Add in that we got a free bucket of animal feed for each person on the wagon, and we were very glad we chose wagon over car.

Especially don't ride in minivans. The backdoors aren't allowed to be opened during the ride and the people in back won't have the same experience as those in the front with roll down windows.

The parking was free, the gift shop was reasonable (shocking for a person from the north where every gift shop is overpriced), the bathrooms were clean (we chose not to enter the out houses), and there was soap and water for hand washing.

Nose art on the windows

By Luke C |

We missed the wagon ride but really enjoyed the self tour through the park as we went at our own pace. Lots of different animals to view. One of the bison used my front grill as a scratching post and the horns on the cows left some scratches but I believe I can rub them out. One of the cows stole the food bucket right out of our car! Lots of photo ops. There was definitely a lot of "nose art" on the windows but all in all it was a great time!

Mid week visit

By meteordust |

Due to covid restrictions only the drive thru was open. Petting zoo and playground closed. The drive thru was empty and we went around a couple of times. I was a great visit !

Awesome!

This place is so great! Animals all over, walking, playing, napping. Great place to spend an afternoon with family, friends.

Greatest local day trip for the family

By Jason C |

Took our daughter in law and granddaughter here (Was also my first time). Not your usual zoo experience. Being up close and personal, touching and feeding the animals is a blast. Watching others reactions to a few of the animals is also priceless.
This is a must trip if your traveling to or through the area.

Great farm day

By G- Man |

This experience was great with my family. My 5 year old loved feeding the animals but just be prepared for your car to get a bit messy. If you dont want any scratches on your vehicle stay away from the animals with horns. They also have an area to buy lemonade, deep fried oreos, funnel cake, deep fried pbj. There is also a playground for the kids.

Funny way to spend some time

By sammegsmom |

We drive thru and fed the animals. We laughed and laughed. Was a goofy way to spend time. I thought the entrance fee was a little high. Still cute.

So much slobber, but so much fun!

By Erin B |

Did the tour from our own car rather than the wagon. Definitely recommend getting at least 2 buckets of food because you're gonna want to feed them all! It was great fun! Left with great memories of laughter and pictures of incredible animals and all kinds of slobber everywhere!

Amazing Place

By Wendy Whittenton |

We visited here during Spring Break and I loved it almost as good as my 5 year old! The animals come to your vehicle to eat from a bucket of food you purchase. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of this trip! They have a concession stand and play area to enjoy also! This is a must do for kids of all ages!

Safari in your car

By beverly m |

Lazy 5 was a wonderful day trip, the kids just went wild. All the animals are very much friendly but be careful with the buckets of food. Some of them might take it out of your hands. They also have a walking area with birds and ponds, bring your lunches. They have snacks also. If you love nature, animals and outdoors, you'll love Lazy 5.

Feed the Animals

A great day spent with family! First time visiting and would definitely go back. You can feed the animals from your car and it is fun for all ages!

Amazing and Fun Place to Visit! Beautiful Zoo and Safari Like Adventure!

By LindaE576 |

What a great place to visit! So many exotic animals to see and were able to interact with quite a few of them, like giraffes, emus, zebus, bison, ostriches . We did the wagon ride (pulled by horses) whereby you get to feed the animals by hand with a supplied bucket of feed. Wagon driver is your guide and gives blow by blow description and details as the wagon follows the trail through the park. There is an option to drive your vehicle through a certain path through the animal park, as well. The animals seemed well cared for and healthy, and all areas were well maintained. Also had lovely gardens, ponds, and plants to see as well, along with other animals which were in enclosures elsewhere inside the 'ranch'. Would definitely return, given the opportunity. Highly recommend this attraction.

Contrasting animal parks

By gulf-to-gulf |

Oddly, my second review of an animal park this year. The main distinction for this animal park is that you (and your kids) can feed the animals with food provided by the park from a horse-drawn wagon or from your own car. My daughter loved this part immensely. She is 14 now and was definitely the oldest kid in our wagon but I think kids of all ages can enjoy this. Lots of different animal species and you learn a lot about them by watching them eat from your hand or the bucket in your hand. There is really no substitute for this kids of interaction. My daughter especially loved the way the Llamas mouth moved when they took food from her hands. The ostrich, on the other hand, you did not want to eat from your hand or maybe even from your bucket. Very intense eaters. Anyway, great way to spend a few hours outside of, though very near to, Charlotte.

Fun for all animal lovers

By NorthCarolinaPapadan |

All ages can enjoy the animals. We have taken young children, teens, and grandparents. Definitely take the wagon for a fun time feeding without mess in your car. Tables for a picnic lunch and play area for younger children.

Take cash because they do not take credit cards.

Fun but a little dirty

By Reeskl |

You will be feeding animals out of your vehicle unless you take the wagon ride so be prepared for slime. The animals are happy and well-behaved. Park is clean.

One-of-a-kind ZOO Experience!

By Plage All Day |

If you ever wondered what it's like to have an ostrich eat out of your hand, this is the place for you! We screeched and laughed with delight as deer, ostrich, Brahma cattle, and longhorn cattle all reached their heads into the car to enjoy the buckets of food we purchased!

It was at Lazy5 that I first saw Scottish Highland cattle (Scottish coo)... these small "surfer boy" cattle stole my heart in an instant! I am officially obsessed.

The entire drive took more than 2 hours, and after that, there was a petting zoo and wagon ride to take advantage of... not to mention ice cream!

My daughter and I still talk about this trip! I was a core memory to be sure!

Great trip for the family

By AmberRae |

Great experience with our kids. As I read in other reviews if you have younger kids I definitely recommend paying the extra price for the wagon ride. The kids can turn and see everything in the open and experience the animals. I did read and heard from some concerns about animals messing up cars or getting things dirty- well they’re animals so if you don’t want that I don’t know why you would go to a place like this. You have a bucket of feed so the animals want to eat and get up close. We thoroughly enjoyed it but my family absolutely loves interacting with any animals and doesn’t mind the smell and getting a little dirty. And if you have a nice car you’re concerned about, don’t do the drive thru.
There are hand washing stations conveniently located. There was plenty of space on the horse drawn wagons and it was a comfortable ride. The staff was knowledgeable and thorough with explaining rules for safety.
I wanted to also put the review up to add more of what to expect since this was our first time. There is ample parking. We went on a Saturday and it was not too crowded. I have heard where other people waited in their cars in long lines just to get in the park, but this was not our experience. We went early shortly after the opening at 9 am and pulled right into the drive.
They told us to arrive early for our wagon reservation and we had extra time and there was plenty to walk around and do to kill time. You can walk around to feed some of the smaller animals and see birds, lemurs and camels. The playground is wonderful and great for small children. We enjoyed a funnel cake and delicious lemonade at a reasonable price. So if you would like to get the full experience plan to park and spend some time walking around the area as well.

The only thing I will add are the bathrooms could use an upgrade. They were clean but not all of the equipment was working properly.

fun for all!

By Karli C |

My family and I love to visit here any time of the year. It is always fun to see all the different animals and how well they keep this place up. My kids favorite thing is to get a bucket of feed and feed all the different animals. We even saw a month old giraffe. SOOO cute. We always pack our picnic and stay for lunch. It's definitely a must for every family with kids.

Awesome experience!!

By pamgriest72 |

We heard of this place from some friends, so we decided to visit. And we were not disappointed. We absolutely loved it! They let you go through as many times as you want, so we got some more food, and ended up going around 4 times. It was the best!! I would definitely recommend this place, you'll really love it!

Adventure for your family!

By karengV4230GB |

Lazy 5 Ranch is a fun adventure for kids 3 to 80. It is especially nice when the westher is a little cool and the snimals are active. You can either ride in the wagon or drive through yourself. Be advised if you use your own vehicle that the animals have hooves that can scratch the vehicle. It is really fun to drive through because you can feed some of the animals. The llamas were our favorites.

Fun!!!

By Lacie Bowery |

Had a really good time watching these animals. All the animals look fat and happy! Off the interstate in the country this place is a family must. We laughed and giggled the whole time. We left a little dirty but well worth the drive!

Great Drive-Through Safari Experience

By Joel H |

This drive-through safari is a great way for a family to spend a few hours. I love loading up friends and family is our old truck so they can get up close and personal with the various animals along the way. If you have a really nice car, please take the hay ride provided by Lazy 5 Ranch itself. After you've done the safari, check out the other animals at the ranch. We really enjoy bringing guests that visit from out of town.

Great tour

By smac90 |

We took the wagon ride. Been through something like this before and I wasn't going to drive my caddy through. It was more enjoyable riding on a horse drawn wagon to feed the animals. Great day trip and walk around looking at the different animals and birds. A must see if you are looking for something to do.

Favorite way to spend my birthday with family

By Annette B |

What a wonderful day riding through the ranch in a horse-drawn wagon feeding domesticated and exotic animals. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loved feeding the giraffe and petting the pygmy goats. It was hilarious to see the water buffalo neck deep in the algae-covered pond. And there are pigs of all sizes through the park running this way and that. This is a must-do at least once a year if you live in central NC!

Vacation with the grandkids - Awesome time

By Jeff S |

We brought the grandkids here because we knew it would be enjoyable and a fun filled day. We weren't disappointed. Entrance fee is cash only. Upon entering you are informed not to touch or feed the zebras or the long horned steer. You have to chance to purchase buckets of feed when you pay your entrance fee. I recommend doing so especially if you have kids. It gives the kids a chance to interact with the animals but I do caution to be careful when feeding. If your feeding from your hand hold your hand flat with the feed in it so that they won't bite your hand, always flat. If you decide to let them eat out of the bucket hold on the bucket very tight because some of the animals will jerk it out of your hand. It is fun to watch the animals as you progress thru the safari, when they see a vehicle coming they know there's food and they come running from all directions. If you brave it to go in thru the safari be fore warned that your vehicle may get scratched from the animals as they try and get some food, especially the smaller ones with hooves. I learned the hard way. It wasn't actually scratches into the paint so i'm hoping it can be buffed out. Anyway if you choose not to go by your vehicle they have a wagon tour I believe so i would check on that.

Great time

By Garry |

We had a great time. Get there about 20 minutes before they open so that you can get in. Also the later you go the hotter it gets and the animals tend to want to stay in the shade. Plus if you're there first thing they aren't full from eating feed from everyone else and coffee to you easier.

Awesome drive through safari

By juniordmf |

We had a great time here. Definitely recommend buying buckets of food at the entrance. It was so much fun feeding all the animals by hand and getting some great photos. Highly recommend this place. Great for the kids to get an up close look at the animals.

My animals

By Totalhonestywithlove |

I love going to this ranch. Its always lots of fun. When i go its like all the animals are mine and I want to take them home. Our wagon ride guide was very knowledgeable and funny. It was kind of scary when we went to some very longed horned animal. The guide said not to feed him because they will want more and try to turn the wagon over. One of the animals horn bumped my husband in the back, but that was his own fault, I told him to stand up while we were parked. Its a great place to forget about your problems and have some fun. Its an enter at your own risk place, so be careful but enjoy yourself.

Great place

Fun visit

By 977briank |

Good experience. Fun feeding and petting most of the animals. The horse trailer was cool. Good time. We went to Many zoos however this was interactive and fun. Will visit again and definitely recommend.

Fall family fun

By shf13 |

Awesome place to visit. Make reservation for the wagon ride at least a week in advance. You can go through in car but wagon is much more fun. Great petting zoo also

So much fun!!!

By Misty E |

My Husband and I went today for the first time. What an amazing and fun filled experience!! Not expensive at all. They only accept cash. I highly recommend 3 buckets of food per person to feed the animals. There are so many different kinds of beautiful animals that you want to make sure you have enough for the whole trip. I lost two buckets because they will snatch them out of your hands so hold onto the buckets tight! We never have laughed so hard as we did here. You get to pet all the animals you feed. I was a little disappointed though that the giraffes weren't free roaming like all the others. It was hard for us to feed them because they were behind a tall fence. Overall experience was truly the best time I ever had. All the animals are super friendly. I highly recommend everyone to go and have fun!!

FUN TIME

By granakins |

We enjoyed our visit to see and feed animals, Highly recommend taking the wagon ride and go early. Some animals are not that interested in coming for food later in the day.

5-Star Experience for Animal Lovers

By DaleP27539 |

Even though I only gave Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville NC a 3-star rating — which I’ll explain shortly — it truly is a 5-star experience for animal lovers! As I’m sure many would attest, feeding wild or even semi-wild animals from your hand is definitely an experience every animal lover will put at the top of their list of wonderful memories. Lazy 5 Ranch delivers those wonderful memories with an abundance of human-friendly animals ready for a nibble of food pellets directly from your hand. From the time you enter the gate that leads to the animals, you are greeted by several large animals much friendlier and more attentive than any retail superstore greeter, and within moments more animals will mosey on over to your car ready for a handout. And if you’re not quick enough, don’t be surprised if they stick their head right in your open window. From buffalo, bison, and lamas to deer, pot-bellied pigs and ram-horned goats, there is a wide variety of species in this wonderful park. We’ve been to several of these parks over our daughter’s 17 years (yes, she is 17 and still loves these parks!) and Lazy 5 Ranch is by far the longest, has the healthiest looking animals and is the most value-priced park of all that we’ve been to. The cost for the three of us going through the park in our car and purchasing a bucket of feed for each of us was actually LESS than going to the movies and buying one large (not jumbo) popcorn and one small frozen beverage. So why not an overall 5-star rating? First, the wagon rides. We would have loved to have taken the wagon ride excursion through the park, especially at only $5 more per person, however, North Carolina in the summer months is extremely hot and humid, and the sun beats down with extreme intensity. None of the wagons are covered or have an awning afixed to it to provide any shade during the ride through the park. Also with the wagons you need to remember they are on a fixed schedule (as they recommend reservations for the wagon rides) and can only spend a specific amount of time with each group, sometimes limiting the time spent feeding the animals. Another reason for less than 5 stars is because of the vehicle pathway. With the exception of only a couple areas, the vehicle path is only wide enough for one vehicle. So if the vehicle in front of of you decides to spend an inconsiderate amount of time feeding a group of animals you have no choice but to wait until they are ready to move on before you can also proceed. This can sometimes lead to long backups of vehicles especially later in the day. So, if you want to make your visit a 5-star rated experience, you can by avoiding the wagon rides, visit the park as early as you can to avoid backups, have patience with the other cars, particularly those ahead of you, and don’t give out or spill all of your food early on in the park. Its a long ride and it’s mostly a single path. If you’re out of food, you definitely will not enjoy any remainder of the park driving through with your windows up and the kids screaming!

Very enjoyable for the family. ☺️

By Naily M |

We had such a nice experience here. My 6year boy enjoyed feeding the animals. Always keep your distance from the eyes and be vigilant bc they are animals and behave as such.

Close up animal experience but animals to pushy will 100 percent damage your vehicle!

By Roving31673046500 |

This is a good place to get close to animals but there are far safer places in the area to see the same animals. There animals WILL ABSOLUTELY DAMAGE YOUR CAR! There is no maybe to it the animals act as if they haven't been feed in ages and we had to ride with our windows up most of the time because every single time you let your window down there is a big pushy cow with horns literally trying to get into your car. Your literally paying alot of money to get your car damaged and to feed there animals. Not worth it in the long run.

Beautiful!!!

By JennyfromNC |

Loved the wagon ride, the kids loved interacting and feeding the animals!!! Totally recommend this to all families!!

Car or wagon?

By grannaP |

We've done both and both are a lot of fun. My grandson got debris in his eye on the wagon on a windy day but luckily a passenger had visine and we rescued him. Going in your own car is a real hoot! But be prepared to visit the car wash afterwards. The swings are fun, the ice cream cold and delicious. They only accept cash so be prepared!

Great but hot

By Nancy K |

We took our granddaughter (9) for a wagon ride (12:45 reservation). She really enjoyed as well as us. They provide buckets of feed & take you all around the park amidst the animals. The wagon master gives a bit of advice & info along the way.

Suggest that you make the reservation & take the wagon ride as you go to areas reserved for the wagons only & you learn a bit about the animals.

Great for all ages

By Rococoman |

Get an extra empty bucket for food and just put a little in at a time. Some of those critters will steal it from you and they are quite strong and experienced at it. Just a great time, pack a lunch if inclined. We have taken dozens of family and friends and they all love it. Don't drive in in your show car.

The Wagon Ride is a MUST!

By Sharon C |

We are so glad we took the wagon ride. One would be crazy to take their car down these dirt roads with all the ruts and the animals rubbing around on your fenders. The wagon went places the road didn’t go, so spend a couple more dollars and ride in the wagon. The experience for the kids is more than worth it. The seats on the wagon put you up high so that the animals have to raise their heads to be fed (except for the giraffes). Our little grandson who is 2 1/2 really enjoyed it. Check their website or Facebook page before you go, in case something unexpected has happened. Sometimes they close the ranch if it’s too muddy. They won’t allow the horses to pull the wagons if it’s too hot. They have a annual Fall Festival and an Easter Eggstravaganza where they dump plastic Easter eggs onto the ground from a helicopter! No pets are allowed and it is cash only. Monday-Saturday: Open 9 a.m. until one hour before sunset. Sunday: 1:00 p.m. until one hour before sunset.

Fun

By Nina S |

We had a great time on the wagon. The guide was excellant and their were lots of animals to feed. The tour was suupposed to take an hour, and we got almost 90 minutes.

Unexpected Fun

By Doug M |

Growing up on a farm I thought this excursion would be boring, it was not. Our family group of 11 ages 7 to 84 enjoyed all the different animals, 12-27-19. I just wish the brochure had a photo & name of each animal so we knew exactly what we were feeding. The key is feeding the animals OUTSIDE the car, Yes in the palm of your hand. Some are very neat eaters, some leave your hand very messy. The Ostrich was the most fun, they like reaching completely inside the car. Some animals may look ungroomed which is "normal" this is not a place where each animal is groomed daily, this is how they look in the wild. Thanks.

So much fun - kids & adults alike!

By joyc231 |

I have been to the Lazy Ranch now several times with both family and colleagues. The self-drive option is surreal! The animals are great, but be prepared to go slow as they come very close around your call on all sides! Also, don't let the animals steal your bucket of feed (hang on tight!). I would suggest getting at least 3 buckets of food for the drive. Don't use all your feed in the beginning because there's plenty of animals to see throughout the ride...you'll want some for the backside of the property. The self-drive takes around an hour, depending how busy it is. A hoot!

Great time!

By Sholmes205 |

Loved every minute. The drive through your was amazing, the zebras, bison, emus, and all the others. The walk through petting zoo was awesome as well. There was a sheep that even gave birth to a baby while we were there. Great family outing.

3rd Time Visiting

By Beany_from_Brooklyn |

This place is great. We have come 3 times over the last 12 years and each time is gets better IMO. Kids (and adults) of all ages have fun, and I mean lots of fun.
For those who write about sick animals, I find it VERY hard to believe they have any real idea of what is a sick animal given there are so many exotic type animals and most people have never seen these animals up close. They are animals and hungry all the time (most of the time actually) which is the point of going where you can feed them. They are healthy and act very normal for safari animals who are used to people in cars. I mean people keep there minivan doors open to get even closer to the animals.
Let nature come to real life for your children..... it is Worth it!!!!

So much fun!

By mskimot |

This was so fun! We thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals from our car. I would recommend getting 4 buckets of food per person. Also, read the guidebook for helpful information prior to driving in. It looked like the people on the wagon were having a good time too.

Unique Animals

By WondermomV |

Unique animal farm where the animals are well taken care of ! Great family experience! Wagon rides are available - suggest taking it ! Kids loved it when the animals walked over to the wagon ! Could pet them & feed them (buckets of pellets available to purchase) ...have taken the grandkids several times through the years & never have been disappointed !

Fun family day

By gumfrat |

Lazy5 is a really fun place to see farm animals, parrots, and more exotics like giraffes or buffalo. My grandson had a blast feeding emu and water buffalo from the tour wagon. Would highly recommend paying for the wagon ride. I drove my own vehicle through once and it was a slobbery, kibbley mess. Beware also of zebra. They will grab the food pail with their big horsey teeth and run off. Lazy5 also has plenty of hand washing stations.

Quiet Gem

By Gerald D |

The Ranch is actually is a small zoo. The zoo is extremely well kept. Kept better than the real North Carolina Zoo. The animals are given a lot of space to roam in an animal friendly environment, are extremely well kept and clean.

They have kangaroo, pacu, camel, peacock to name a few. They have a petting zoo where you can feed some goats.
They a small safari type trail that you can drive thru or take a horse drawn wagon ride that will take you thru the same trail. We did the car ride for me was a mistake because the safari trail is not all that great.

People drive real slow to even a point where you will sit for over 5 mins and see nothing but deer and some pot belly pigs. Best sight was a zebra and giraffe. You can buy a bucket of feed for 3 dollars. I say do it so the animals can come to you. To me the drive thru was a waste. It took 2 hrs to get thru, tho my wife and children like it.

Staff is great. Price is reasonable. We got there in the afternoon which was not a good idea because we sat in traffic for a hr waiting to get in. Great for families with kids 8 an under. I will go back again.

Absolutely amazing

By LaceyandGrey R |

They were only open for the drive thru portion but o my goodness it was well worth it! We got to pet and feed so many animals. Absolutely wonderful experience. We will definitely be going back again when the pandemic allows them to reopen the whole park. We love love love this. Great start to mother's day weekend!

amazing kangaroos

By bessiej2016 |

All the animals were breath taking but the kangaroo stole my heart. It was beautiful just to see the reaction of the mommy and the baby entering into her pouch. Had a great time and also the ride through all of the animals were great. I wen there with my niece for a birthday party and everyone enjoyed it.

Great Experience

By BoraBora2020 |

Lots of fun!! Great interactive animal experience.... Lots of animals and variety.... You can drive thru in your vehicle but for a few dollars more, take the wagon ride.... Much more fun!!

Great place to see wildlife not native to our area

By Mike C |

This is a great place to take young kids, old kids and adults. You can drive through or ride on a house drawn wagon (I recommend the wagon unless you want to get your car dirty). Great place to have a Birthday party. You can spend as much time as you want.

Don’t drive your car through! It WILL get scratched!

By Shaylarae74 |

Fun place but I would not suggest driving your own car through to feed the animals. The animals will hit it with their horns and jump up on your car with their hooves (especially the goats) and scratch it! We came away with tons of scratches on our car. Luckily our car is only worth about $1000 so it’s not a huge deal for us, but I can imagine many people would be furious if that happened! And we received absolutely no warning that anything like that could happen. The animals were quite aggressive and to be honest it was a scarier than I expected. Big animals, up close, running towards your car, trying to get food from you is a little freaky! We were scared to roll down our windows more than a crack because they’ll stick their heads entirely in the car to get the food. Definitely a cool experience but either ride the wagon or take a car that you don’t care if it gets scratched!

Fun outing

By MoodyFoody2 |

We visited on a Wednesday morning and did not encounter the back to back traffic some earlier reviewers mentioned. It took us about 1 hour and 45 minutes from entrance to exit. Paid $72 for 4 adults, 2 kids (kids are 11 y.o and younger) and 4 buckets of feed. They have bathrooms you can use between gate and park (recommend using)
We had a fun time.

You’ll LOVE this DELIGHTFUL experience no matter what age you are! I promise!

By Blessed |

Lazy 5 Ranch had an over capacity limit of visitors today (a Saturday) and they were therefore required to close early! This is one of the few places people of all ages can visit during this time of restrictions that provides a WONDERFUL and enjoyable time for everyone! Because of the Covid-19 requirements, visitors are required to stay in their cars (no wagon rides) and drive through viewing, interacting, and feeding the numerous and wide assortment of animal species. It is a unique and amazing adventure to drive through this safari like woodland and experience this delightful opportunity! I was disappointed that I was unable to drive my parents (ages 86 years and 89 years) through the ranch today due to the early closing requirement knowing this adventure would have provided such a memorable and fun time for them after being “quarantined” at home for so many days! I have visited Lazy 5 several times through the years and each visit is always unique and just a wonderful and unforgettable experience! I am thankful that Lazy 5 Ranch is able to host so many visitors during this time of restrictions allowing a successful business opportunity for them! They have always been there providing a reasonably priced & wonderful experience for so many visitors for so many years and it is great to see them have this successful opportunity during a time while so many other businesses are struggling. If you are interested in visiting the ranch during this time of restrictions, you’ll want to arrive early to make sure you are able to get in before the gates may need to close due to an over capacity crowd of visitors! You’ll LOVE the experience!

Fun and Unique Experience!

By Gronezy20 |

We spent a beautiful Monday afternoon on a wagon ride through the ranch with our awesome guide Dayton.

Our kids loved getting to see and feed so many different animals, and were laughing about it the whole time! It was the highlight of their vacation.

There is a nice playground area, bathrooms, and ample parking. Her name escapes me, but the friendly lady working at the gate when you first arrive was even kind enough to open the gift shop for us and another family while the employee covering the gift shop was on a break.

Reservations are required for the wagon ride and they only accept cash here, so come prepared!

Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly, and the experience itself was really amazing. Would highly recommend!

Disappointed on our third visit

By Mary E |

This was my third trip to Lazy 5 Ranch. The first was in a car and the second on the wagon ride. The wagon ride is definitely worth the extra charge as our driver was very knowledgeable and communicated so well with her passengers. My granddaughters had a wonderful experience. I was hoping for the same experience for my two grandsons and a friend with her grandson. I was very disappointed this time. We were in the middle of two other wagons and, for the most part, all stopped at the same time. The animals would head to the first wagon and eventually some would head to our wagon. However, by the time the animals got to our wagon, our driver insisted it was time to go so we didn't have much time to feed the animals. In addition, when we were farther away from the other two wagons and there were animals around, our driver never stopped to give us an opportunity to feed them. When we got to the giraffes, she announced that we would only have 5-10 seconds each to feed them. This might work for people on the fence side of the wagon and for older kids who could maneuver quickly to the fence side, but for younger ones who needed assistance and an adult to stand with them, their opportunity was limited. When there was an opening at the fence for my youngest grandson to feed, the driver insisted that it was time to go. "Sit down, sit down, we have to go" was her favorite and most frequent communication during our ride.

The whole wagon ride seemed to be extremely rushed. I wish our driver had been a little more accommodating in order to give her passengers the best experience. I know you have a schedule to keep, but we would have greatly appreciated having those missed opportunities. I don't think this would have added that much time and would have definitely made the experience much more enjoyable.

Traffic! Few animals!

By Amanda B |

Bumper to bumper traffic the ENTIRE length of the 3 1/2 mile drive through zoo. No emergency exits or way to get to a bathroom. Took FOUR hours to get through. I have been to hundreds of zoos and safaris across three continents and this place is not worth paying for. There are hardly enough animals and the handlers whip them around the field in circles to give everyone a chance to feed them. Standing traffic and not one worker attempted to encourage traffic to move. Also no signs to suggest people pull over to feed the animals. This company needs better management practices. Workers had no PPE either.

Awesome Drive Thru Park For Animal Lovers!

By C M |

I can't say enough good things about this place! My husband and I have been all over the U.S. (46/50 states), and we look for these drive thru animal places when we travel. This one is top notch! There were so many varieties of animals to see/feed, and the amount of them is more than some places we've been to. I like being able to interact with the animals more than you can at most zoos. It's neat to see the animals up close and personal. We thought the cost was very reasonable ($11 per adult, and $3 per bucket of feed, which were decent sized.) It was very crowded when we went on a Sunday afternoon, but the flow of traffic was pretty good. By the time we left there were only a few parking spots left, so it's a happening spot. They do have restrooms and a little food stand with pop, Gatorade, pizza, burgers, etc. Some of our favorite animals are the Scotch Highland Cattle, Watusi, Texas Longhorn, Brahma, Rocky Mountain Elk, Gazelle, Zebra, Giraffe, Draft Horses, Eland, Ostrich, Aoudad, Sheep, Kangaroo, Pot Bellied Pigs, Lama, and Buffalo. If you don't want to drive your car you can pay a little extra to ride a horse drawn wagon. This is a great thing to do for all ages. We will stop back again if in the area.

so much fun!

By Betsy D |

This is a must do - silly and fun all in one. And messy :) We did our own car but brought a wet towel to wipe up. We laughed so much as it seemed at every turn a llama was staring in a window. The back of the car was full of food pellets and some animal slobber on the side of the car - but there are local car washes near by that have free vacuums. If you don't want to worry about the car - do the wagon ride. It was great!

It's a Blast!

By Ken N |

We took the wagon ride to see the animals. Passengers are provided with a tub of animal food pellets. Apparently, this is how the animals are fed because they follow the wagon in droves. The variety of animals is outstand, from pigs to giraffes, brama bulls to deer, and antelopes to donkeys. We loved that all of the animals are free to roam over the hundres of acres that make up the ranch/zoo.

Concerned

Visited today 95 degrees and when we walked to see the animals in petting zoo more than half had no water in the bowls. It was really sad.

LAZY 5 RANCH LOTS OF FUN

By stegeddy |

Loved going on the wagon, seeing the animals and feeding them. It was a beautiful day. lots of different animals. enjoyed the giraffe the best. I don't think I would go while it was raining or for a few days after it rained. More fun on the wagon than in the car or truck.

Had a blast a unique experience

By Anthony |

I was very hesitant to take my car for the drive-thru so I decided to get on the horse ride which you have to make a reservation. It was definitely worth it there's a goat there that seems to be very friendly and hops on the wagon... make sure you keep an eye on your bucket a feeders or else you'll get it!!

So much fun!

By Heidi H |

When I heard about this place, I thought it would be chintzy. But it was so much fun! Cash only. Buy a few buckets of feed and drive your car through. I've never been that close to the animals before and had that much interaction with them. And I've been to several of the big zoos across the U.S. Really a great experience for young and old.

After our drive through we walked around the petting zoo area. We were privileged to witness a sheep giving birth. What an inspiring moment.

O - M-G !!!!

By Donna M |

This was such a cool ranch to find.. we were able to drive through while getting up close and personal with all of the animals.... we were able to feed them right out of the car.. be careful, the billy goats are pretty aggressive with their horns! The Alpaca's, pot bellie pigs, and the deer were so cool to see up close.. My daughter loves Alpaca's and Llama's, so she was in heaven.. we even were able to feed camels.. such a cool place, and very cheap! Totally worth the time we spent there!

Mothers Day

By Debbie B |

Moms got in free, hence the long line! But big variety of animals roaming free. May want to bring your own snacks & drinks & hold on tight to your feed buckets! Fun to do at least once.

Concerning.

By Shannah W |

I'e been twice. I don't think they take very good care of the animals. After the second visit I swore I would never go back. I know that they have had the Department of Agriculture out there. Just not impressed and it is very expensive. So expensi ve that they should be taking better care of the animals.

Change of pace

By dennis n |

Finally got away from all the car attractions in this area. This is a great family attraction. You can either drive your own car thru animal park or take a wagon ride. This is a good size park with a decent variety of animals. There is also a small zoo on grounds that kids seemed to love. Pricing is 8 to 10 dollars a person.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

By ViperDriver |

The Good: good family entertainment, fairly priced, friendly staff, a wide variety of animals to view, feed, and interact with.
Now the Bad and Ugly: This attraction is in terrible need of some tender loving care by the owners. I found the Lazy 5 Ranch to be dirty, trashy and in a state of disrepair. Animals and birds in confined areas either had identification placards missing or barely readable due to age and weather damage. There was trash in and around some of the exhibits along with dead and decaying cactuses and plants. Some exhibits were dirty with stagnated pools of slime green water. All the pathways are gravel and dirt. Wear old shoes! Not suitable for wheelchair access either. If you just want to be able to see and feed a few animals—OK, don’t expect much more. Otherwise , go to the zoo.

Great animal experience

By janmorris |

We made the drive from Lenoir yesterday and it was totally worth it. We paid #11 each at the gate and also purchased 2 buckets of food. We went in our Jeep which made this drive through animal ranch absolutely fantastic. At the very front gate the most aggressive animals hang out. By aggressive I don’t mean mean. They just know people mean more food. They are real animals so be careful with your bucket of food. I saw a few buckets are on the ground and I can only assume it was from someone holding the bucket for the animal to eat and it got knocked or pulled outbid their hands. We actually had extra cups in our jeep so I filled them with food so we could feed the animals with them and not have to hold to big buckets for them to knock over or try to grab.
We had a blast and loved to be able to feed and pet these animals. All the animals did look well cared for. I’ve read reviews that they where dirty and full of flys and ticks. HELLO, this is not Disney World. Real animals get dirty and have flys on them. Aka natural setting!!!!!
Anyone who loves animals and would love to be just a little closer to see and randomly feed a buffalo, Zebra, cows, emu, pigs lamas etc. this place is for you
We spent about 2 hours om the drive through. The wagon ride wasn’t available due to Covid but Being we went in our Jeep I would not have chosen to do that anyway. Saw people that came in a pickup truck and that looked like so much fun also.
Biggest tip I can give is
1 buy more food then you think. We bought 2 buckets for two of us to share. We totally should have bought 4
2. Save some food for the giraffes. They are close to the end.

OMGosh, this place is freakin Awesome!!!

By kimseesyou |

I wish for the walk-through area they had better signs on what the animals are .... otherwise, this place is well worth the visit. The prices are great ... and the area you drive through or can take a horse and wagon through is really pretty amazing ... I drove through and think the driving through is fun because can go at own pace .... I would be shocked if you were disappointed ... can't wait to go back and do it again! this is a must go to ...

Fun place to see animals with young children

By TTITL |

Our family had a blast taking the wagon ride at this wild animal park. The driver was a lot of fun and we got up close and personal with a lot of the animals there without getting our car scratched. It's worth the money you pay.

I took my niece and nephew to visit and they had a wonderful day .

By Fred S |

Great half day outing for friends and family . Lots of interesting animals, roaming free and close enough to be able to make contact both casually and in depth .

You can be guided through the park or proceed at your own pace. I recommend taking the wagon ride as the animals are drawn to the regular movement of the vehicle.

So much fun!

By ndawson12 |

Feed the animals along the way 9n your wagon ride. Everything from zebras to buffalo and llamas. All ages enjoy, but hold tight to your phone...

Awesome experience for family with kids

By 948uttamp |

Family with Kids will have a great time. It's a great experience to drive in your car and see all the animals and feed them

Great

By bsorge |

This is better then other similar places. Large number of animals that you get up close and feed. Pay $ 3.- bucket and get 2.

Add this to your bucket list!

By SebrinaVanHoy |

My girls and I had a great time visiting L5R. We rode the wagon through the park. Our guide, Betsy, was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We got to spend an hour feeding and petting Brahma, antelope, water buffalo, bison, giraffe, pigs, and more. An experience everyone should have at least once! Try to go early when the lines are shorter & the animals are most interested in eating!

Rick is the best tour guide!

By Caitlin H |

We had a fantastic tour with Rik! My sister personally requested him and he is just the best. He is super knowledgeable, friendly and fun! What a memorable experience!

Lazy 5 ranch

Its a great place to take the children they get to see the animals up close and personal. A little too personal for me but Great for the kids.

Former Teacher Review

I used to teach and have been to Lazy 5 many times. A very educational experience and a lot of fun for the children. A ride through wild safari of exotic animals highly recommended for a families.

Ride the wagon

By J7880KRkatherinec |

A must, must , must if you are in the area. I do recommend that you take the wagon ride. You do have to call in advance to make reservations but it is worth it. The animals are more well behaved when you ride the wagon and the guides give you so much information and tell you how to safely feed each type of animal. Really an experience that you have to see to believe. I do recommend that if you book a wagon , call back and verify that they have your reservation a few days before you go. Amazing place.

Family fun

By Terilindsey |

If you are looking for a great afternoon of family fun with the animals this is the place to be. Ride in the car feeding the animals then get out and walk around to see more types that you can also feed. We really enjoyed our day and will be back

Waste of time

By Tea J |

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Charlotte for our 18th anniversary. We decided to make the hour drive from our hotel to the ranch. What their website doesn't tell you is that the last wagon ride is at 3:00. It only says to be there by 4:00. I was not taking my new Mustang through their park and risking it being damaged. So we drove the hour out there through Charlotte traffic for nothing, on our anniversary. It ruined our afternoon. Avoid this place. Avoid Charlotte for that matter.

Won't do it again! Damaged my car!

By Sypris1982 |

These guys don't give you a chance to feed them from bucket they put their heads way in the car before you get a chance to put the bucket out and they even scratched our doors on both sides you jumping up on the car!!! They have signs saying they don't pay for damage so you get screwed. I definitely will not go back!!

Loved it!

By Hugh G |

Great place to take children. Make sure to ride the wagon because the animals get close to your car and may leave scatches.

Mostly Good

By Clyde P |

I took my son to Lazy 5 Ranch to take a look at an alternative to Hollywild Animal Park in Spartanburg, SC near where I live in upstate SC. In the past Hollywild had safari tours during the summer but now they only focus on Christmas light tours. At Lazy 5 Ranch you can either take a horse drawn carriage ride or your car through an open area where numerous animals can be seen and fed. There is an additional fee if you ride the carriage. There are many animals to feed such as cows, Llamas, baby pot belly pigs, bulls and Bison of varying types, Zebra (no feeding), Ostrich, etc..

This is all well and good, except . . . the people driving the carriages routinely shouted at us and others for doing things the people on the carriages were routinely doing. I am not sure why, they kept saying to stop doing things like having a side door on a van open, petting a Zebra, touching a bison, etc. while the people on the carriages were completely open to the animals and doing the same things. They kept telling people in the vehicles to stop it is too dangerous. I did my years in law school and so I understand liability issues; however, if it is dangerous for a person in a truck or van to do a certain thing, how is it less dangerous for someone on a carriage. My 11 year old son asked me once "why do they keep screaming at that man, the lady on the carriage is doing the same thing." I told him I was not sure but I had my suspicions. It cost more to go on the carriage, therefore more revenue. Hmmm, maybe I am wrong and I just don't understand the difference.

If you are close I would recommend it even with the odd behavior. I would have gladly paid the extra for the carriage but it was booked up for hours ahead and I did not want to wait. My recommendation is to make reservations. I did not notice anything on the site recommending that but I could have missed it. It is fun but I wish they could get the rules and enforcement down to one set for everyone.

Loved Seeing My Kids Lsugh, smile, and habkng Fun!

By Stephanie Y |

Best place ever. A wonderful place to go to get an up close hands on experience with animals. The best part about Lazy 5 is getting to feed all the animals and watcing my children have so much fun.

Fantastic!

By girl0183 |

We had a great time seeing and feeding all the animals. They were so friendly and funny! Very nice driving trail through shaded areas for us and the animals. Great family fun during this pandemic!

Wagon Ride

By Jane H |

Since we had reservations, our group, The UMW, were admitted with just a short wait. We found ample parking in The bus section. Next, we headed toward the barn. We climbed aboard our wagon and headed out to see the animals. Each of us had a bucket of animal food. We treated the animals STRAIGHT from our hands. Jane H.

Drive Thru

By deborah r |

The weather was too hot to take a wagon ride so we drove our own car through the ranch. Don't forget to get food to feed the animals who come up to your car. I recommend arriving when they open because later in the day the animals are not as hungry. It was great fun and the children had a blast looking at all of the animals. A fun time after the drive, at the petting area. There are out door bathrooms available at the petting area.

took neice on outing

By twodogsba |

took our neice there , we had a great time , make sure you take the wagon ride , most animals are lose could damage your car , very fun place ,

Great afternoon spent here!

By Mamaluch |

When you first drive up this place does not look like much, but after paying we parked and walked around. There were quail, peacocks (walking around freely), lemurs, goats and llamas. Some of them you can feed and pet. Also, you can take a wagon or drive your car around the 3 1/2 mile road and have buffalo, pigs, deer, llamas, emus, ox and giraffes come up to your window to feed. You buy the bucket of food at the entrance for $3.00. Try to reserve some of the food until the end of the 3 1/2 miles because the buffalo will put his head against your car and stick out his long purple tongue for you to throw food into his mouth. It is GREAT!!! We had a great time and at the end of the drive we bought an ice cream at the little concession stand and let the kids play on the playground.

Waste of time

By Chris K |

Parking lot. Don't waste your time. Was good in the past, but took over an hour to move a block and no animals. Never coming back.

Wonderful

By NCTraveler2015 |

I wasn't sure what to expect at the Lazy 5 Ranch but I just loved it. When you arrive, there is a booth to stop and pay. If you made a reservation for the wagon ride mention that and they will give you a ticket and tell you where to park. Remember to bring cash.

There is a zoo as well as the safari part. I thought the zoo part was good sized with a variety of animals from peacocks to a turkey to kangaroos to various birds to lemurs to turtles. I am sure I forgot a few as there were a lot.

There is a barn to line up for the wagon rides. They also provided a bucket of food for every two people so that was nice to be able to feed some of the animals. We were told not to feed the zebras as they get aggressive.

I really loved feeding the giraffes. Their size is so impressive and they are just beautiful animals. We also saw cows, buffalo, sheep, deer, ostrich, emu. There were babies so that was a lot of fun. We had a good time safely getting close up to these animals.

This is a place I will go back again as it was a lot of fun and a unique experience.

A lot of fun!

By Ryan S |

I'll admit I was skeptical. But it was a lot of fun. Bring a car that you don't mind getting scratched, spit on, slobbered on and possibly dented. And for the love of God hold onto the buckets because some of those animals know the drill!

Total delight - in your car and the walking "zoo!"

By Kay W |

Lazy 5 is so much fun! There is a walking part - where there are animals in pens and some wandering around loose! You can feed all of them the feed ($3 a bucket) -which is quite fun, too! The drive-through part is amazing! Zebras, bison, llamas, ostriches, alpacas, emus, pot-belly pigs, long horn steers, deer of a wide variety...all will eat the food (they are looking for the food! Some even follow the car! Truly a must-see if you like animals!

Spring break trip

By Cindy M |

Awesome place we had so much fun here it was the highlight of our trip worth every penny..the animals were so sweet and tame ..we were kinda scared at first but they made us feel so comfortable around them ..definitely recommend this place and will come back to visit again .

I love this place! The animals are treated with care and respect.

By Tami M |

We have been here a few times. I love how well treated the animals are. Make sure that you book the wagon ride way in advance.

Lazy 5 Ranch is fantastic!

By Charlotte S |

Lazy 5 Ranch is an excellent place! Perfect for all ages, educational, interesting & fun. The animals are all very well cared for & entertaining and the grounds are beautiful. Be sure to check this place out!!

Nice visit with the kids

By 115christyg |

Go early. It gets crowded. We waited in line for about 20 minutes, which wasn't bad. By the time we were leaving the line was twice as long. Lots of animals to see. We rode on the trailer instead of driving our own car. Our guide was ok. It was impossible to hear her and it felt rushed. But the kiddos loved seeing the animals. They come right up to you. We even got to pet a giraffe!

Awesome

By kosakahonmachi |

We were in the area for the NASCAR race and always look for something to do on the day before the race. We have seen this advertised in the past but never really looked into it, and that was a mistake! All 7 of us (5 adults and 2 children) THOROUGHLY enjoyed this. We were not able to reserve a wagon ride, so we toured the facility in our car. I was disappointed at first, but I don't think it took away from the experience at all. In fact, we think it may have been better for us because we could control what animals we fed easier by opening/closing our windows as we desired. We went pretty close to 9AM and the animals were definitely active!! In fact, you could have used all the feed within the first few minutes if you weren't careful. The trail was definitely long enough, too. We would highly suggest you visit if are in the area!

Great experience! Lots of fun!

By edupsmith |

I have been twice and had so much fun both times! The first time we did the hayride which I highly recommend because you can really get up close to a lot of the bigger animals like the buffalo and they are used to the wagon so they come right up and eat out of your bucket. Only downfall is if you're with a huge group, it can be a challenge to feed every animal yourself, depending on which side they come up to and which side you're sitting on. The second time we took our car through. This was a lot of fun as well because we could go at our own pace and spend more time with certain animals. I do not recommend bringing a super nice car that you're afraid to get a scratch on! The animals will practically stick their heads in your window! There's also a nice area you can walk around at outside of the drive in trails, that have different birds and goats etc that you can feed. Priced fairly well considering the amount of time you get to spend there. The horse stables are also great! Great attraction for kids and adults!

Loved it!!

By SugarMagnolia923 |

My husband, 7 year old grandson and I stopped here on our way to Florida on Friday September 22 around 10:00 a.m. We got three buckets of food and drove our car through. On that day and time, we were the only people going through. When we got out there were lots of cars and buses arriving. We totally loved feeding the animals. We laughed so much. This is a great activity at any age and we plan to make it part of any trips through this area in the future. Highly recommend!!

Amazing!

By DEBORAH H |

We made reservations for the wagon ride and we were not disappointed. There are an amazing amount of animals to feed. The animals come right up to the wagon and the driver tells you how to feed them. All the animals look healthy and well fed. This retired couple had a great time! Oh yes, it's a great place for children too.

Lazy 5 is Wild!

By Rawlins77 |

You actually get to drive through where the animals are and can feed them as they walk up to your car! My teens were excited to take pics of the animals and we laughed so hard when a few tried to be greedy and take all the feed out of our buckets. This was the most interactive animal visit I have ever experienced. Its a must for animal lovers and more than worth the fee to get in.

Tons of animals roaming acres

By Carol L T |

This is an animal park/zoo with domestic and exotic animals from all over You can drive your car through( although I wouldn’t if it’s new) or you can tack a wagon ride. You get food and you drive all over the park stopingvto feed the animals. Our driver was very knowledgeable and fun. We saw tons of various animals and babies. There is also a walk through area with various animals. Lots to see. Not as well groomed as a zoo and the animals look like some need some cleaning up but kids will love it. My group of over 60 ( in age) enjoyed it.

Hay Ride.

By Nancy C |

Took our eight year old grand daughter to visit the Ranch. We had the most wonderful afternoon petting and visiting the animals. She was impressed at the many different species of critters to see. We also did the car ride and were surprised to see how comfortable they were with humans. I'm sure the food was a tremendous temptation to lure them over and we will be visiting again.

Traffic jam

By David S |

Went here on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend 2020. Way too many people. The ranch is a parking lot. We have been in stopped traffic for 3.5 hours and we are not even close to being done. This place is literally a parking lot.
