Great Collection

By Kelly E |

We spent about 2 hours browsing the collection. We took advantage of the QR code guides at each display to walk us through it. There is a lot of items to see. We found it pretty cool overall. The immersive experience was just ok. I do feel like the admission fee is too high and I think that’s where people leave disappointed. Something to consider……

By Emily F |

We had a wonderful time. Jackie was super friendly and helpful. There were lots of great artifacts from the books and movie. I was surprised to see so many different collections. The immersive videos at the end were great. Thank you.

For Oz fans of all ages

This place had so much memorabilia from the movie and books. The staff was very nice and the owner was very knowledgeable about all things Oz related. A huge recommend for Oz fans of all ages.

It was so fun seeing all the Oz collectibles, I really liked the books and snow globes. I also loved the immersion room...both Oz and Van Gough were great...

Nice memorabilia and full room movie. Relaxing fun! You can walk down the Yellowbrick Road and see all the characters around you.

Enjoyed our visit

By cavewoman40 |

We had missed coming here a couple years (on cruise ship) since I wasn't feeling well that day. But this time we made it and we were very pleased with our visit. Friendly people at museum. So much to look at and read about, very informative. It is one of our favorite museums. If you are a Wizard of Oz enthusiast, we highly recommend it. We used our Groupon coupon as well.

By BarbaraMD |

We took our 9 year old granddaughter and she really enjoyed the little scavenger hunt they have for children. The display cases of memorabilia are very Interesting. The history of Baum and the Wizard of Oz was also pretty interesting. The immersion exhibit itself was great. In addition to going down the Yellow Brick Road also got to see the van Gogh immersion exhibit too.

Unique! Fun!
We found this place here on Trip Advisor and as a fan of The Wizard of Oz I had to visit.
I loved the history of the books and seeing some of the original memorabilia.
I figured my little kids would be restless, but the owners figured that out, they had a fun scavenger hunt and children’s area which kept them busy while we read about what we were looking at.
They loved the immersive part of the museum where they got to run around and dance. When we left, they said they had a lot of fun. And so did I! Any fan of the Wizard of Oz will like it. I didn’t know if I would be back in this area so it was a must see. And it didn’t disappoint!

By Eileen R |

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience. So many items of memorabilia to see and photo opportunities. Great talking to Fred and Michelle afterwards and finding out just how much work goes into the video presentations. Would recommend this to WoO fans x

By Brandon B |

Stopped by as we were in the area. Museum is in same vicinity as Kennedy Space Center. Good parking friendly staff, a lot of options in gift shop. QR codes were great to help explain items in cabinets. The immersion aspect was cute and fun. Issue was seemed to be more of a display that showed products that were Wizard of Oz themed, versus Museum of the movie. Loved the history of the first few cabinets and books. Different concept then the Museum in Kansas , overall fun.

If you love oz you will love this!

By devinne |

I love visiting the Wizard of Oz as an Oz lover. I was very impressed by all of the historic relics related to the film especially the slippers from the great movie. Owners were also very kind of van Gogh/oz immersive exhibit was very nice. We spent around 90 minutes in total looking around and picked up some goodies in the gift shop. Would recommend different and looking forward to visiting the new location in the future.

Amazing and enlightening

The Best

Must do when in the area!!! I love that we got to go on this visit. It’s great for us adults as well as children. Very interesting!!! I like the back story of the film.

By Trek11012 |

The museum is small but very interesting Many items to look at. Immersive experience was very colorful. Staff very friendly

By Linda A |

We found this attraction on Trip Advisor. The amount of memorabilia was astonishing: everything from wine bottles, mugs, board games, puppets and Dorothy’s infamous checked dress. They had accompanying QR codes on displays. Learning that there were many Oz books and the story of the tinman and why he had no heart. There’s a charming play area for children where they can watch Oz cartoons (adult sized seats as well!). They also do a scavenger hunt for the kids. The immersive exhibit was amazing! There was Van Gogh, the planets- a nod to their KSC neighbor- and Oz. The owner’s passion about Oz was contagious and he provided some additional insight to the exhibits.

AMAZING!

Such a beautiful museum! It was crafted so well and the staff there is phenomenal! I highly recommend it to anyone coming to the area!

Lots of information about the creation of Oz, and many other related stories. Terrific collection of memorabilia from Oz and beyond.

The wonderful world of L. Frank Baum ..

By vincent m |

A great place to bring the family ! An abundance of history and historical objects of art and Ozian culture!! Several pieces in the museum go back to the Baum family collection... personal items and effects .

Don't miss this! You will be enthralled!

By clee8282 |

First of all, you don't pay $125 per adult unless you want the GUIDED tour! Trust me when I tell you that you don't need a guided tour. The regular admission for 2024 is around $32+ tax per adult and slightly less for children and seniors. I believe very small children get in free. They have QR codes on each display case that describe, on your phone, everything you need to know! They also have written information in those cases that you can easily read instead of using the QR codes. There is a cute playroom for small children while you tour the museum. It is conveniently located on the same floor as the exhibits.
Now let me tell you about my experience there:

Can I tell you this was one of the best museum experiences ever? I've been to Paris and Amsterdam! I am not saying that it had the grandeur of those museums; I am saying that this museum is captivating and memorable. The history was well articulated and interesting, and the displays were beautiful. I took dozens of pictures! But, the immersive 3-D projections of Van Gogh's paintings really knocked me off my feet. It was lovely, serene, and exhilarating at the same time if you can imagine that! Be sure to take your toddlers with you when you enter the immersive part of the tour. They will love it as much as you do! My daughter and granddaughter attended a Van Gogh event that toured the US, and how they described it sounded exactly like this display.

Please trust me on this... This experience is worth every penny! And the gift shop is remarkable. They have items in every price range. No matter your age or gender, you will enjoy your unlimited time there.

A great mix of history and interactive displays

By Caroline D |

I'm sorry to say that my family has lived in Brevard County for 20 years and never visited this wonderful museum until today. My mother, my sister and I, and my niece all had a wonderful time exploring the amazing collection of memorabilia Fred, the owner, has assembled over the years.

The immersive experience was fun and relaxing, and the James Webb images were particularly beautiful.

I've been a fan of L. Frank Baum's works since I was a little girl, so I was especially interested in the fantastic rare book collection Fred has put together. He also has a collection of rare books for sale, and gave me an amazing deal on a rare Mark Twain book for my collection. I'm thrilled to have it and will cherish it for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for the wonderful start to the new year! We'll definitely be back.

By Micheletee |

I have been a WOZ fan for over 65 years and was thrilled to find out there was a museum in Florida. All I ever heard about were the giant amusement parks - been there, done that. The museum and interactive experience held our interest for over an hour. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Looking forward to visiting again, hopefully in Kissimmee.

Wizard of awesome

By ninabulzan |

This museum is awesome! Family friendly and very entertaining. Lots of cool stuff from the movie and the immersive experience is one of a kind!

Incredibly Immersive

By Seth G |

The best!! My son calls this his “Happy Place”. All of the staff know him by name. They are truly incredible. This museum also has the original artifacts from the movie. Highly recommend!!

By 6-of-us-were-there |

The owners were on site and very nice and appreciative of all the guests. The WO museum and tour is a collection of WO books, collectibles from the beginning to today. Each glass case had a QR code to play the information that each case contained. There were statues to take pictures with and a documentary playing. My 7 year old was entertained by doing the find all the animals in the museum hunt. In the back room there was videos playing of WO, Van Gogh art, solar system and a couple others in this huge room with multiple projection screens playing in sync. Me and the kids enjoyed that and sat thru watched two cycles of it. It was oddly calm and relaxing with the music. The yellow brick road was moving on the floor and the kids walked on it. Hard to explain but was pretty neat. We learned a lot of information we didn’t know about WO and the first author of the books so the museum did its job. Worth the stop in when in CB when looking for a non-beach activity.

Down the yellow brick road

By Larry B |

The museum is not Disney or Universal, but we did learn a lot about the Wizard of Oz and Vincent Van Gogh. The immersive video was cool. The displays were presented in an informative manner. The staff were attentive and polite. The only warning I make is the parking lot. As a Floridian, I try to park under shade. Skip this strategy. I parked under an Australian Evergreen. Big mistake. I had tree sap on my Dodges hood, which took Nu finish and about an hour of buffing to remove the varnish like globs. Other than that, we did have a good time. It's better than a tourist trap and off the radar as far as promotion. You can spend over two hours looking at everything. Recommend even with the parking caveat.

So many great trivia facts!

The self guided tour was filled with so many unknown facts- so many great trivia facts! A fun experience! The owner is so knowledgeable of everything Oz!

Magical beautiful experience.

What an amazing place! I’m so glad we came. It was a delight seeing all the memorabilia and the immersive experience was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. The staff was so welcoming and helpful and informative. Definitely worth the trip and I am bringing more people next time.

Great experience at the Oz museum

By Passport801022 |

Great experience seeing so many diff items from the movie, collectibles, and items owned by Baum himself. Loved that I could take as many pictures as I wanted and a great gift shop up front with tons of items to chose from from souvenirs, collectibles, books, etc. Deff will tell
All my Oz friends to visit

fairy tale of love for a great story and the desire to give people a miracle.

By Анна Ф |

A real portal to a fairy tale. From the first steps, you get into an incredible atmosphere. Felt part of that magical story. It's an immersive show! Magic light, music that creates a sense of wonder. Delight! Thank you for the emotions that will stay with me for a long time. ♥️

Great staff not worth current ticket price

By Explore03063878021 |

We recently had the opportunity to visit the Wizard of Oz Museum and Van Gogh tour, and while there were aspects we appreciated, there were also some areas that could benefit from enhancement.

To start, we found that the graphics in the OZ section felt a bit dated—reminiscent of early 90s visuals. It seemed like the multimedia elements had not been refreshed in quite some time. The exhibit consisted of two main rooms: one showcasing Wizard of Oz memorabilia, which was intriguing, though perhaps not as groundbreaking as we anticipated, and another featuring synchronized projectors. While the concept was creative, it felt more akin to an informal display rather than a polished museum experience.

We had hoped for a more immersive or interactive environment, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully meet our expectations. The collection was certainly interesting, but we felt that the presentation didn’t quite reflect the ticket price. It appeared as though a personal collection was assembled rather than a carefully curated exhibit. There is certainly room for improvement in both presentation and content.

On a brighter note, the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Their willingness to share information and engage with visitors added a nice touch to our visit. However, this warmth alone couldn't fully compensate for our overall impression of the experience.

We found the ratings for this attraction somewhat surprising, as we left feeling that we didn’t entirely receive value for our admission. If you are a devoted fan of either The Wizard of Oz or Van Gogh, you might find some enjoyment here, but based on the ticket price, we believe that a more enriching experience could be offered. It appears that a significant update could greatly enhance the museum’s appeal.

We enjoyed it going through the museum
And storytelling was awesome, it reminded us our childhood

Interesting historic trip into Wizard of Oz

Lots of really neat vintage items to see! I loved the QR codes for the self guided tour. The immersive experience was a relaxing way to enjoy more of the Oz and Van Gogh experience. Definitely would come back again- I’m sure I missed something!

Yellow brick road

By Ashley B |

It was a wonderful experience. So many cool items and information I did not know about the wizard of oz. The immersive experience was phenomenal. I highly recommend!

Rainy day outing

By Barb L |

This is more for die hard fans. Kids will be bored even though they have a “Munchkin Land” which was a tiny room with a table & chair set and showed a cartoon. Too low tech for today’s kids. Takes about an hr to go through leisurely. We had time to kill that’s why we went. Little pricey for just that.

Amazing show! BUT

By Joanne D |

Great show. Amazing building BUT its very badly organized once inside. Also if you have a group booking like us and people come in from different extrances, they dont make it easy to tansfer tickets to the other people in your party. Some of the staff are extremly rude.

Follow the yellow brick road to this amazing gem.

By Elizabeth S |

The exhibit is skillfully curated. I loved the self guided tour and the antique Oz books. The immersive experience is worth the trip by itself, but the Wizard of Oz memorabilia is beautiful, interesting, and even a bit creepy in the best way. (Much like the beloved books) The Staff is helpful and passionate about the subject.

A great spot to catch!

By Roneet R |

A wonderful place. So much memorabilia, a great self guided tour, the immersive experience was amazing. Not to be missed.

The Wizard of Oz Museum & Van Gogh
4.9(2.8K)

Not fancy but absolutely fabulous. Young or old, this is a wonderful experience. We felt such a sense of nostalgia and got to share it with our granddaughters, 6 and 4. We were greeted by Fred, the owner and Jacqueline, the manager. They told us about the experience and had us watch a brief video. They even had a fun way to engage the kids with a game for then to find hidden animals! From there, began a wonderful collection of books, autographs, figurines and more. All of the collection has QR codes that you scanned and would tell you about the items you were looking at. Fascinating information . Super awesome photo opportunities with life size figures at all the characters. After that, you ever a magical and mesmerizing room filled with music and film covering the walls and floor and ceiling.... From Wizard of Oz to Van Gogh the images meld from one to the next with relaxing music. The little ones danced their hearts out in this incredible room. We could have stayed much longer. Next was a little room playing a animated version of the Wizard of Oz that was lovely. Finally, into the gift shop which had something for everyone. Our trip with the Grands was planned for the Space Center which was NOT a great experience for their age. This little gem of a museum made up for it, 10 times over!

Great museum featuring all things related to the Wizard of Oz. Displays of books and movie memorabilia are well organized and engaging. QR codes on each display case make it easy to listen to the narratives.

Amazing Museum

By 9Buffalolady20 |

I am a BIG Wizard of Oz fan so we planned our trip to Florida because of this museum. The collection of Wizard of Oz items is amazing! There are some very old, original props from the movie so many collectibles. An original spear from the witches castle, costume of a townsmen from Munchkinland, and an original dress that Dorothy wore along with the collection of Oz books, some first edition, was amazing. We were welcomed into the museum and told to take as much time as we needed. We visited the children's area and watched part of an Oz movie. At the end of the tour is an immersive experience of laser projectors surrounding you with characters from Oz and scenes from the first book of Oz, James Webb images of the universe, and Vincent Van Gogh paintings that come to life. We were even fortunate to meet the owner and spend some time with him telling us all about the museum and his love for The Wizard of Oz. There is a gift shop with souvenirs and Oz collectibles and don't forget to visit the restroom! It is cleverly decorated in an Oz theme. It is well worth a visit to this wonderful museum!

WONDERFUL WIZARD!!!!

A Visit on the Yellow Brick Road

This is the place to go for all "Wizard of Oz" fans. Jackie, the manager, was so helpful and friendly. The museum is full of memorabilia from movies and books.
The Immersive experience was amazing.
We enjoyed the Van Gogh part of the experience as much as the Wizard of Oz. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Interesting experience.

By Rebekah S |

It was neat to see all of the original copies of the books ! We had no idea there were that many books written ! We liked seeing all of the different collectors items that were on display. The immersive experience was really cool and it was impressive how all of the projectors and images were in sync! The dance scene at the end was pretty fun to watch and try to imitate the moves. We also enjoyed being able to see the Van Gogh exhibit, which was a nice add-on. We got the Groupon which gave us each a magnet and shot glass so it was definitely worth it!

Wizard of Oz Museum Tour

By Jessica W |

This is a must see for everyone. I was amazed at all the memorabilia in this collection. It was like a childhood dream to see some of the artifacts in person! In addition to seeing pieces from the movie you can learn more about the history behind the real story … Do you know what that is? Go and check this place because there is something new for everyone to learn. Michelle was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I would go back again.

We Followed the Yellow Brick Road to a Gem of a Museum

By karenmoneywilliams |

During our vacation at Cocoa Beach, Florida, my husband and I happened on this delightful museum on the main drag in the town of Cape Canaveral. It looked less than imposing as we drove up, but the giant sparkling ruby slipper painted on the side of the building as well as the poppy flowers that spelled OZ hinted that this was a special place.

When you step in, you are greeted by friendly employees and an impressive array of Oz-related gifts and books.

The museum itself includes some 46 glass cabinets packed with Oz memorabilia and arranged in chronological order. It was mind-boggling to see the figurines, toys, board games, marionettes, masks and countless trinkets spawned by “The Wizard of Oz” movie since its release in 1939. It was further mind-boggling to see the many books in addition to The Wizard of Oz that L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) wrote, including others in the Oz series as well as those under various pseudonyms. Who knew? (Well I sure didn’t until now!)

And there’s so much more to relish in the museum, including a throne for a photo opportunity with Dorothy, Toto, Glinda, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow. Nearby is the Wicked Witch, her bicycle, and some of the flying monkeys. Photograph her at your own risk; she’s been known to scare the dickens out of generations of movie goers. And those monkeys! The stuff of nightmares, wouldn’t you say?

But wait, there’s more. Inside a small “munchkin room,” you can sit down and watch a video movie based on the Oz lore. We watched “Oz the Great and Powerful” starring James Franco, Mila Kunis, and Michelle Williams and had to remind ourselves that the museum closed at 5 pm!

Another treasure in the museum: a documentary playing on a TV about the (at times perilous) making of the original movie.

But wait, there’s even more! In the back corner of the museum, you enter a huge room offering an immersive experience (all four walls plus floor and ceiling) of a story about the Tin Man and a munchkin lady he loved. Then there is an immersive segment showing views from the James Webb telescope, of all things! Those breath-taking views are followed by the art of Vincent Van Gogh spreading out in all sorts of lovely patterns. Familiar music – pop and classical -- plays throughout the experience, and you can literally walk down and/or dance on the yellow brick road.

Before leaving, we had a wonderful conversation with employee and artist, Vincent Myrand. Vincent has been fascinated by “The Wizard of Oz” all his life, has researched it deeply, and paints pictures of scenes from the movie. He has also known some key people in various ways related to the film. Be sure to converse with Vincent if possible. You’ll be glad you did.

As Vincent told us, “This is more than a museum. It’s a magical place and even a healing place.”

We felt those vibes throughout.

Great little stop in Cape Canaveral. Fun seeing all the memorabilia and movie props. Great photo ops and kids room . Awesome VR experience.

Talked my husband into going to this museum. When we got back into the car he said that was so cool!

By Sherpa137029 |

We got to the museum early in the morning. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. I scanned each display case to listen to my private tour guide through my ear buds. We then went into the room where the immersion experience was playing. We stayed to watch it several times. We moved around the room together to see all the different scenes. We even got up & danced along some When we left the museum was getting crowded. Even being busy you would get to see everything because of how displayed.

Wonderful find as lovers of the Wizard of Oz. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the memorabilia and especially the interactive portion of the museum both Wizard of Oz and van Gogh experience a special time with my granddaughter.

By MexicoMikeyVegas |

Great experience and very extensive collection. Enjoyed the first edition of the books and the movie history. People were very friendly and explained everything. Worth a visit.

Overpriced and disappointing, but, on the bright side, the Owner told me why I'm wrong.

By hotelbeano |

It is apparent that this personal collection, yes that is what it is-- a PERSONAL collection, is lovingly maintained and certainly a passion for someone; however, it doesn't rise to the level of a curated museum and it definitely not worth its current price.

We were getting off a cruise and we visited solely due to the high TripAdvisor ratings, as I'm sure many do. But, after having visited, I'm not entirely sure how it can score so high. The owner, whom we presumably met, seems to be capitalizing entirely on these social media ratings to drive business, which leaves some doubt in my mind of their veracity. The staff, including the owner, are very nice and seem to genuinely enjoy their work.

I had an inkling from the moment we were made to watch the two minute expectation lowering video PRIOR to buying a ticket that they've likely had this conversation before and this was designed to give people an out.

The collection is impressive for an amateur, personal collection of items related to all things Wizard of Oz-- book, movie, Wicked, etc. There were lots of books, toys, trinkets, props, etc. and they were organized decently enough. Their display was amateur and not on the level of a true museum. Information was displayed on paper printed from a computer and scotch taped (seriously not even looped on the back, just taped to the case in many cases). It overall presented in a very amateurish way. I immediately regretted paying what I did.

They had a sign in the kids room (just a darkened room playing an animated version of Wizard of Oz with some toys in it) that said "#1 Children's Museum in the US." Seriously?! How would that be possible? Kids would not enjoy this place at all. I can name 10 places off the top of my head that are actual children's museums and not a converted strip mall, but that mystery remains. It certainly makes me rethink using TripAdvisor in future.

So, after the interesting, yet disappointing collection, we ventured into the immersive experience. We arrived just as the Oz portion began. It consisted of what appeared to be early-2000s era digital graphics that were jerky and repetitive. The music was either royalty-free stock or public domain, but didn't really fit. The main scene that struck me was the lion on the cart. The cart came at us from one wall, then appeared on one side wall and the floor, but not where it should be. The image on the side wall then frame by frame disappeared in a disjointed, weird way. Remember the dancing baby that was all the rage in the 2000s? That's what these characters looked like and they didn't even dance as well. Inexplicably, interspersed in the Oz section was a section of stars from the James Webb Telescope. That part was interesting, also the motion was smooth. Presumably this section was not created by the museum and so it worked. The Van Gogh part was fine, but we were so done at this point. BTW... this is NOT the Van Gogh Experience you see in major cities, there are several other companies that offer that and this one is listed nowhere on their sites.

As we left, we debated whether or not to say how disappointed we were with the experience and, as soon as we walked out the door the (presumably) owner asked us. We told him that we were disappointed and didn't feel the exhibit was worth the price of admission. He then proceeded to aggressively, yet kindly, explain how we were wrong. He was standing between us and the door, so we kind of felt we had to stay and be talked down to. At one point I stopped him before he told me about the operating expenses and said, "It is just my opinion, and I understand you have expenses, but this is how I feel about it." He patiently waited and then continued to tell me why my opinion was wrong. He tried to tell me the rockets launching from the Cape misaligned the projectors. This wasn't misaligned projectors... I think he was running this whole thing on like a Gateway 2000 computer. It was apparent that he had had this conversation MANY times. He had all his facts and figures locked and loaded to prove why our opinion was wrong. Seriously, all you have to do is look at the bad reviews on this site and see his reply. It's the same thing over and over. I eventually just said, "OK, we've got to go." He was still pontificating on how we didn't get it and we expected something else. Naturally, no form of compensation was offered.

Bottom line: If you LOVE the Wizard of Oz, in any form, then it MIGHT be worth it for you to see the impressive personal collection of items contained herein. Otherwise, skip it-- your kids will thank me.

I want to also add, that it's clear that the people here are proud of the museum and enjoy what they do and I don't mean to denigrate what they are doing. But they really do not have an accurate self image of what it is. Honestly, if they were more humble and didn't pretend that they're the Guggenheim of Wizard of Oz museums it would be more palatable-- but still not worth $32.

My wife and I noticed a sign for Wizard of Oz Museum. We are down to unique experiences, so we thought we would check it out. We were pleasantly entertained. You start off with an informative video that explains what is in the museum. Then you enter the museum and see the displays of the history of the book and movie. There is a verbal accompaniment if you want. Then there is a room with a Oz and Van Gough immersion that is fun.then there is a gift shop available. My wife and I weren’t a Ozzy, but it is well presented and interesting ,and more than just the movie.

Wow! What a cool spot for any type of Oz fan , especially fans of L. Frank Baum history and the Oz cannon of books!
So many cool historical books and artifacts on display … many for sale also .
Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable ….
Small but significant , and definitely worth a visit for those with an interest in all things Oz!

I don't usually do reviews. but I had to tell somebody. So my fam took a cruise a few weeks ago looking for something to do by the Port. We found this little mid museum.
Dad was like, hey this movie is a classic, you'll like it. We were like, it's so random though. Whatever, it was raining. So we went in the wizard of oz museum.

We got in the door and this senior citizen man with a thick accent said to watch a video. It was hard to understand everything he said. But he kept staring hardcore at my lil sister who is 14. Giving predator vibes. He was tracking her every move. He tries to hand her a paper with animals on it and she's like no thanks, and tries to hide behind me. His energy was creepy. He never looked at the rest of us.

He said he was the owner and proceeded to stalk us, follow us around and impress us with his knowledge of his junk collection, looking my sis up and down the whole time. * shudder

NGL at this point I was creeped out and could tell she was feeling awkward and uncomfortable. I wasn't surprised when we turned a corner and saw these characters you can sit and take pics with. Dorothy is a sex doll. 🤮 I'm not touching that.

The projector room was fire tho, with decent music and art. We were starting to enjoy ourselves but When we came out Owner Bruh was talking WAY too loud and WAY too intimate with a young blonde girl that works there I guess. Maybe it's his daughter but it was like not appropriate work/fam convo IMO. That tiny space felt so tense and awkward for customers.

Mom was pissed cause she was picking up on his vibes and wanted to leave instead of looking at the Temu/Wish trinkets and cracked up super glued relics lining the gift shop shelves. (And she was tired of him trying to stare down my baby sis she told us when we got in the car.)

But then the predator corners us when we nearly escape out the door. Bruh was being super pushy and like tries to bribe us with some Temu looking bookmarks to leave him a tripadvisor review. We say we have to leave and He continues to harass us and tell us his museum is the number one kids museum in America. Doubtful.

IDK if you like the wizard of Oz movie, this place wasn't great, museum was mid but owner bruh was acting creepy and pushy. 🤮 He made a family outing feel like Not a safe experience for my lil sis.

An absolutely Wizard Experience!

By Jet24308650094 |

If you are a fan of the movie, this is absolutely a must see. There are fantastic display cases with memorabilia from the movie and details about the filming, cast etc. The immersive theatre was absolutely fantastic; you go on a journey from Kansas to Emerald City and there is also a Van Gogh section which was beautifully done and a section devoted to images from The James Webb Telescope.
The shop has plenty of items to buy at all price points and do not miss the restroom, prettiest one I ever saw!

THIS IS AWESOME

By Sweet A |

This expirience was so stinkin fun, we had so much fun doing the little scavenger hunt and the projector room was literally to die for, i took so many great pictures!!

Highly recommended! Not to be missed.

By Jeremy B |

I wish I could give more than the maximum rating! I thoroughly enjoyed the Oz, Van Gogh and the planets immersion experience. The museum opened my eyes to the history and beauty of the Oz narrative as my knowledge was based solely from the movie, like others I'm sure. My wife and I are glad we stopped by and it made our weekend trip so memorable. Anyone reading this, if you have any doubts, please do yourself a favor and go see Fred (the owner) and his Wizard of Oz exhibit. You'll be glad you did!

Fun stop in the A/C

Everyone was super friendly upon entering and I love that they give you the option to view a short video of what to expect before buying a ticket in case it’s not your “jam.” Definitely can be completed in an hour and the immersive experience at the end is beautiful and easy to just sit and soak in, def love the added Van Gogh touch it really elevates everything as well. We visited the Wizard of Oz Museum on September 20, 2025. I have loved this movie ever since I saw it as a child, having also been involved in the play my senior year in high school. The museum was incredible, I never knew there were so manythings dedicated to both the movie as well as the books. The immersive experience was amazing. Highly, highly recommend this museum!

Must-visit Museum!

By Agathe G |

Amazing experience! My family loves Wizard of Oz and this is a one of a kind experience with a lot of unique things to see. Very well done and the staff are knowledgeable and welcoming. A must-visit!

By sevenokeefe |

The iconic Wizard of Oz,
In my mind everybody knows the story of four different personalities that became life long friends after being thrust into a perilous adventure that just so happens to be, somewhere over the rainbow. Each one personifying traits that are important to everyone, love, brains, heart and courage. Well that’s the story MGM and Hollywood tells. Actually the multi faceted universe of Oz starts with a brilliantly talented and inspired author Frank L Baum and dozens of books, The movie and Judy Garland, the play, the cartoons, dolls that include Barbie, Hello Kitty and much much more. It’s all meticulously cataloged, cared for and displayed in Cape Canaveral Florida at the Wizard of Oz museum. The self guided tour goes in depth with QR codes to embellish the experience. Take as much or as little time as you need to soak in the magnificence of this experience. Get out there over the rainbow, beyond the yellow brick road and into the emerald city both literally and figuratively.
Have the best Oz experience ever!!!
Thank you!!!

A fun few hours of remembering childhood movie.

By Ann C |

Learned so many new things about one of my favorite childhood movies. So neat to see how many different Wizard of Oz books were written. We took our time and enjoyed the self guided QR codes. So many amazing memorabilia too look at. I loved the amazing light show of so many neat scenes they created. A bonus was the amazing light show of Van Gogh, which I am huge fan of. Take your time and enjoy this attraction.

It’s packed with an incredible collection of memorabilia, from rare collectibles and unique finds to authentic scripts and accessories from several of the characters. The detail and variety make it feel like you’re stepping right into Oz.

Interesting historical review of wizard of oz. Appreciated verbal story brought up by using QR codes offered on cases of artifacts. Immersion aspect of Oz appreciated but did NOT appreciate having to sit through Van Gogh immersion. Interested in oz only! Van Gogh immersion TOO LONG!

We all had so much fun on this tour! We were amazed at the incredible Wizard of Oz memorabilia spanning decades ranging from beautiful jewelry, to fun toys, fine china and more. But the highlight was the fully immersive room. We loved walking the yellow brick road, being fully surrounded by the magical stars in the galaxy and seeing the Van Gogh masterpieces come to life.

We had family ranging from 18 years old to 77 years old and we all had a great time!

Oz Museum!

By Madeline S |

We went here between getting off our cruise and getting on the plane and we absolutely loved it!!! Highly recommend to other Oz lovers!!

By 17wandalust46 |

Dad and I went here-he’s a big fan of the Frank Baum series. This was so much more than I expected-the collection is extensive, and the QR codes are very thorough. There is an interesting children’s room-which we entered when Dad was tired of standing. The immersion room was also fun and interesting. I’m certain children would love that, too. In a state full of over-priced tourist attractions, this is a well thought out exhibition that’s reasonably priced. Additionally, the staff member was friendly and informative, and the bathroom is very clean and fun.

Little known Gem

By J R |

A bit expensive, but a terrific experience. I'm very familiar with Baum's Oz series, so it was truly awesome to see all the rare books and memorabilia from the nearly 40 years after he wrote the first one and before the film was released in 1939. The merchandise mania from back then truly interesting. In the back room you are encircled by not only scenes from Book One, but the bonus of a Van Gogh moving panorama. I hope to return!

By spice2life |

We’ll add our 5⭐️ rating to the rest! Serendipitously found this treasure after disembarking our cruise today. If you have happy memories of any franchise of this iconic American story, you will enjoy learning and seeing the history. From first edition books, and all of the kitchy memorabilia it has spawned in more than a century.

If your children haven’t yet learned of the story (and aren’t spooked by a green faced witch or flying monkeys), this would be a fun way to introduce them: immersion!

We watched the first MGM film once year as I grew up (in an age before VHS and streaming). Then was Dorothy in the musical as a Senior in High School. I’m not a collectible person, but admit to having some Ruby slippers…

They’re raising $ for a new nicer location, so don’t let the sketchy exterior put you off!! All part of the fun. Even the bathroom, with Wizard air freshener!

Wonderful Museum!

By Amanda H |

Totally worth it! Was better then we could’ve imagined! Will be returning! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and can’t recommend this place enough!!

By BackPacker30713 |

The experience was well worth the time. The van Gogh experience was an added bonus. I would recommend bringing both young and old.

Must see museum 🥰

By B T |

When you first pull into the parking lot it looks empty like the business is closed but once inside you find there are many people enjoying the experience. It’s a magical place!
They show you a video of the museum then take you back to a room with over 2000 artifacts and. Collectibles and they give you instructions on the self guided tour and immersive room.

The immersive room is my favorite part! The music is peaceful and the scenes are not linked but they are explained on a poster by the door. So you can go into any part and no further explanation is required. The scenes are breathtaking!!

There are super cool items from the original movie and lots of cool history facts. I learned so much…

I’m coming back with friends. I’d highly recommend a visit!

Great little stop!

By Cynthia R |

Came across this place on the way to the beach. Such a cute museum, with great artifacts and memorabilia related to the movie and an immersive experience at the end with some Van Gogh art.

Take a walk down the Yellow Brick Road!

By Kj D |

I wasn’t sure what to expect, however was I PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!! From the unbelievable amount of artifacts related to the books by Baum to the movie memorabilia to the immersive experience it captured my interests, not simply as A Friend of Dorothy, but for is vital historical context to movie & literary history! The QR codes throughout the museum that offer recorded overviews of what artifacts/memorabilia are in the specific case is an added bonus to the experience! A must stop for any fan of Baum, the original Wizard of Oz movie or its reiterations. Wonderful!! 🌈

Wonderful!

By Susan W |

Such an amazing place! We enjoyed seeing all the different pieces of memorabilia. Everything was worth the drive from Orlando!

Toto…I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore

By al s |

Whether you’re a good witch, a bad witch or a flying monkey like me, hop on your broomstick and check out this museum. It’s WICKED cool.

Anybody who’s ever seen the 1939 movie (which…let’s face it…is EVERYBODY) or read the Oz books will be amazed at the memorabilia and the sheer number of unique artifacts collected here.

Might be the most interesting museum gift shop I’ve ever seen. And the ladies on staff here are just terrific.

Don’t miss this place! The great and powerful Oz has spoken!

Magical visit to the Wizard of Oz Museum

By Kimberly S |

Our trip to the Wizard of Oz Museum and Van Gogh immersive experience was one of the highlights of our week in Cocoa Beach. The massive collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia and vintage books, accompanied by the phone audio tour, was fantastic. There is also a neat kids' room where the little ones can touch and play with Wizard of Oz toys, including two fun munchkin mirrors. The immersive video/audio 4D experience of the Wizard of Oz and Van Gogh was a great way to end the museum tour. We had a delightful time there!

An amazing place worth the visit

By Marcia D |

An amazing place! Well worth a visit and the admission. I was very pleased and pleasantly surprised with the wonderful exhibits of Oz treasures, well curated displays with QR codes for every case and shelf to learn more--if you desired. It was like stepping back into my childhood with fun and interesting stories and historic info at every turn. Took the opportunity to take our pictures on the Oz throne flanked by the story's main characters. The immersive room was an incredible experience. We were at the museum for almost 2 hours before we realized we had to get going.

Amazing tour!

By BlueHeronInnAI |

Amazing! The tour took us about two hours because we took time to read with QR codes more information about all the exhibits. What a tremendous amount of memorabilia! Very insightful and interesting. We talked to the owner and found out he had been collecting items for more than 40 years! The immersive part of the tour was amazing too. The images were taken from the original books. They are expanding this museum as we speak! Well worth it don’t miss it!

Great indoor experience for $30/ea

By Cubmaster99 |

The Wizard of Oz Museum was better than expected. The expansive collection contains over 2,000 artifacts related to L. Frank Baum and his Land of Oz. Of particular note the museum has copies of all the original Oz books including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz signed by L. Frank Baum. The movies props include a copy of the 1939 MGM movie script, an original Dorothy dress worn by Judy Garland, Emerald City townsman jacket, a Winkie guard spear prop, and a set of Ruby slippers from the defunct Disney MGM Great Movie Ride. There are two life sized dioramas of the main characters in Emerald City and the Wicked Witch with her flying monkeys. There is a small kids area playing a Wizard of Oz cartoon with Oz books and toys the children can touch. The highlight is the 2000 square foot immersive experience provided by 31 projectors - 15 on all the walls and 16 for the floor. In addition to the eponymous Wizard of Oz, the 20 minute plays the works of Vincent Van Gogh and the James Webb telescope images. The Universe images was my favorite. As a bonus, they gave my daughter a scavenger hunt to find certain animals and write the display case number it was located for a prize (two stickers or a book mark).

Note: We have visited the OZ Museum in Wamego, Kansas which has a similar number of artifacts and enjoyed both.

Must see!

By Babykakx |

Thanks to seeing it on Trip Advisor, our family of 5 spent nearly 3 hours at this wonderful museum this afternoon. The QR codes on the display cases give you great information about the exhibits inside. The 2,000 sq.ft. immersion experience room with the custom-created scenes that weren't in the Wizard of Oz book plus Van Gogh's art was very impressive. The icing on the cake was getting to visit with the owner after our self-guided tour. Hearing how he started collecting over 40 years ago and actually obtained the rare items was truly fascinating.

By Chris C |

A wonderful experience for anyone with even a passing interest in either the stories or the movies related to the Wizard of Oz. The collection is sure to impress anyone with an interest in collecting anything.

By Kari S |

If I could give 10 stars I would have!!!! First off, we were welcomed and invited in to watch a very short video of what to expect.
We were taken into the museum and it was explained to us how we could use the QR codes to listen to information about the memorabilia in many of the showcases. (This is optional but included in ticket price)
We were able to look around the museum at our leisure. I am a huge fan of Wizard of Oz but still learned a lot.
The Van Gogh/Wizard of Oz show experience was spectacular!
It was 100% worth the 181 miles we traveled to see this!

Way Better Than You’d Think!

By Christy S |

We were visiting Cocoa Beach and debated to go to this museum because my husband really wasn’t a fan of the Wizard of Oz and thought it was too expensive, however were we so glad we decided to go. This has to be one of the coolest museums you’ll ever see. Don’t let the Wizard of Oz museum fool you to think it’s only about Judy Garland and the Wizard of Oz, far from that. It is an amazing trippy, one of a kind experience seeing the Wizard of Oz, the Van Gogh exhibit and a space Odyssey set to beautiful music that is just captivating. There was a
a young couple in their early 20s near us and they enjoyed it just as much as we did and we are senior citizens. It brought me back to the days of the dark side of the moon. The amount of memorabilia they have collected that’s all about the Wizard of Oz is absolutely mind-boggling. I had no idea there was so much, and it was all in pristine condition. It’s all displayed in glass cases by years and you could use a QR code to listen to all the information in detail and just take your time, no one rushing you. There was a spot for kids to watch a cute movie which we did as well. We had so much fun and we’re all absolutely amazed at how much we enjoyed, we even sat and watched it again but this time in a different seat so we could catch it all because it’s all in a panoramic view. I highly recommend you see this when you’re in Cocoa Beach. They have lots of cute souvenirs and the lady that was running it all is just as sweet and nice as she can be. It’s well worth the money and I know you’ll be happy you went.

Great experience did not expect to see all the information that I saw the knowledge that they have is incredible. I truly enjoyed the van Gogh exhibit.

Great find!

What s great find, you and your kids will love this!

Amazing Road Trip to Oz

By steve H |

Amazing experience! Learned so much about the Wizard of Oz. I love the seats you can sit in. The monkeys were scarier in person!!!

By Allyson |

What a MAGICAL place! It was so neat to see original pieces from the film and memorabilia dating back from well before I was a child! The immersive experience allows you to finally feel what it feels like to be Dorothy and face the tornado and walk the yellow brick road (but be sure to do it!). The addition of Van Gogh’ immersive art was a great bonus!
We had the privilege of meeting the owner and his passion for this museum was even more spectacular to encounter! Thank you for such a fun attraction!

By Kayleigh B |

We really enjoyed our visit to the Wizard of Oz Museum! I learned so much about the books that I never knew before, and the props and displays are really well put together.

One highlight for me was the immersive projector experience, skipping down the yellow brick road was so much fun. There are also some lovely photo opportunities that really added to the experience and helped to preserve our memories.

If you’re a Wizard of Oz fan (or just love a bit of magic), this place is well worth a stop!

By Mithra |

This museum is a Joke. It is mostly a collection of dolls and souvenirs. There are a few movie prop replicas. It is obvious that the museum does not have a license or permission to show any footage from the film for there is none shown. And the music playing isn’t from the movie. The video art show has nothing to do with the Wizard of Oz. The gift shop doesn’t sell the Movie or much else.

Dorothy, My Mom lobed this place

By Trip57309576862 |

I Took my mother who loves the Wizard of Oz and we both really enjoyed it. Besides the museum, there was a lovely special room with music and videos that made the visit special. We stayed and watched the show 3 times always seeing something different. The pictures came out great..I just wish i had taken more! I will definitely re-visit the hidden charm and recommend to others.

Trip to Oz

By Jennifer C |

This is the hidden Jem of Cape Canaveral. Whether you are an Oz enthusiast or a casual viewer of the film. This is an impressive collection that will take you on your our journey to the Emerald city. Staff is so amazing and knowledgeable. Surprises and flying monkeys at every turn. Must be on your list.

Truly Magical!

By Mark N |

An absolutely wonderful museum. An absolute must for anyone with even a passing interest in either the films or the books. Run by enthusiasts and packed to bursting with artefacts. Something for everyone, from children to oldies like us. The immersive experience sweeps you away to Oz. We loved it! Cannot recommend this place too strongly.

By Archie Z |

Amazing collection of one of a kind items from L Frank Baum The Wizard of Oz books and movie. Display cases have QR codes for audio enhanced tour info. Loved the immersion room where the 3d video effects were both beautiful, calming and amazing! Great experience!

Cool and quirky

By Keri P |

Cute little museum with a lot of memorabilia. Quirky and niche especially if you’ve read the books. The immersive is better suited to younger kids.

By Carla M |

The museum part was like a typical little museum, a lot of really neat things to see. I learned a little history about the Wizard of Oz here that I’ve never known before. The immersive experience was amazing.

A magical hidden gem!

By Julie A |

What a fabulous find! We had a wonderful 3 hours, taking our time to fully appreciate all the memorabilia and treasures that are all on show to be enjoyed. So many fantastic artefacts and interesting information. It really is a hidden gem that needs to be seen and appreciated. Thanks to Michelle & Fred for a great experience (& the lift).

MUST SEE EXPERIENCE!

By Rachel A |

Unique Fairy Tale and Childhood experience. It transcends you. Staff was courteous and helpful. Museum featured Wizard of Oz and The Wiz. The Van Gogh experience incorporated with Wizard of Oz scenes is one of a kind. Gift shop prices are reasonable with great inventory.

Fascinating and nostalgic, a labor of love

By Jeff G |

Marvelous collection, fascinating and well-explained. Remarkable number of one-of-a-kind objects and memorabilia from whole history of Oz, books, plays, movies, and merchandise. It was a trip down childhood memories as well as learning new things.
Immersive experience is simply beautiful. Extremely well done, lovely music. I couldn’t sit down for wanting to move around and be part of it all. It features scenes from the lesser known Oz stories as well as a beautiful section from Van Gogh paintings and star fields from the James Webb telescope. All with moving pieces and little surprises. I watched the whole thing twice and could have stayed all day.
If you get a chance, say hello to the owner. Fascinating guy with an interesting back story. Truly a labor of love

By Suzanne B |

I am a Wizard of Oz fan, and as much as I wanted to like this place, I have to sadly admit I was very disappointed. We have been coming to Cocoa Beach for 10 years and I wanted to visit, but we always had other things going on. When you enter, it’s a small space filled with a bunch of novelty items which some are for sale and some just to look at. Then you pay the $60 for two. You go back into a larger room filled with display cases of Wizard of Oz, memorabilia, and collectibles. Again, some of the items are really interesting, and some of the items are common collectibles of the Wizard of Oz. Then you go into the immersible room, which I am sorry, was a waste of time. It could’ve been done so much better. It claims to have interactive Wizard of Oz scenes, which there was no interaction. Then it goes into van Gogh., Which was boring to me, and has nothing to do with the Wizard of Oz. The whole process took maybe 30 minutes and we were stretching it out and taking our time to try and get our moneys worth.

There’s No Place like the Wizard of Oz museum

By Connie K |

The Wizard of Oz museum in Cocoa Brach was so awesome, including a Van Gogh immersive experience great for the whole family. Loved it!

We are off to see the Wizard

By Sunshine815646 |

It was a great collection of memorabilia and original books. They have a lot of good photo opportunities which is fun! The interactive portion is wonderful! It is based on the book and not the MGM movie so it is a bit different but I think that only made it more interesting. It is a great attraction to get out of the rain or away from the sun for a bit. They also have a great gift shop.

Great!!

By jessica e |

What a great experience!!! A must do if in the area!!! Love love love it!!! Immersion experience is incredible. Became interested after the release of Wicked and figured this would be a great please to visit.

By Candie |

Took a dear friend for her 80th birthday today. She is originally from Kansas and loves all things Wizard of Oz as do I. The museum exceeded our expectations. There is so much to see and so much history! The gift shop has many little treasures and at reasonable prices. I highly recommend! Just a quick hour drive from Orlando!

By Jeanie C |

The displays were wonderful and the immersion exhibit of the Wizard of Oz and VanGogh was excellent. The owner very nice

Small museum, loved the movie

By Karen M |

This is a small museum. There are a lot of great artifacts to look at in glass cases. There are a couple of good displays that are very photo friendly. I really enjoyed the big movie room, especially the Oz part of the movie. The woman working the front desk was very pleasant and even came in and took a photo for me in the museum.

Amazing unique experience with awesome staff

By James M |

Took Uber from MSC cruise, great thing to do in cape Canaveral! Amazing experience! Would recommend. Really great and friendly staff. They give you a trailer on what to expect before you purchase a ticket, and it’s worth it.

Great for Oz fans

By Peter |

This is a good museum. I am a big fan of the land of Oz myself, but as I see it, I think you should have read at lest a few of the Oz books to really enjoy this museum. I think this museum got potential to be approved though. Tu summarize it, if you are a big Oz fan, then this is a place you really should visit.

Amazing Collection of All Things Wizard of Oz!

By Theresa L |

Very interesting collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia to include items from the movie, autographed items from the actors, and huge collections of just about any Wizard of Oz items you could possibly think of! The immersive experience of missing scenes from the Wizard of Oz movie was interesting and we also enjoyed the Van Gogh immersive experience. It's worth visiting if you are a fan of all things Wizard of Oz.

There's No Place Like this Museum (visit Nov. 4, 2024)

By NorthStar746570 |

My sister and I love Halloween and I come down from NY to have fun, this included a day trip to Cocoa Beach. After a chat about being fans of the movie this gave us the opportunity to visit the Wizard of OZ museum. We totally enjoyed this experience: seeing collections beyond belief, a cute Children's room, life size displays for us tourists to take pictures, production information and so many collectibles we found it hard to believe one man could collect so much. We look forward to visiting the new dream of Fred Trust (owner) "Emerald City" in Kissimee when it's built. The staff really enjoy their job and that really helps!!

A must see for a true lover! 👠

By Alissa H |

This was great! I’m a super huge fan of the Wizard of Oz. Lots of cool memorabilia. Everyone is very friendly a wonderful experience!

The Wizard of Oz in Cape Canaveral

By Sherpa18461267338 |

This was an awesome place to visit. You’ll see the characters we grew up watching on the Wizard of OZ that came on only once a year around Easter.

Great time spent at the Museum!

By Jet02640780621 |

Well worth the visit! We loved the visual experience. They had so many vintage pieces! Will come back again. Jackie and Michelle were great.

By HNBISOFF |

I really disagree with this museum being ranked as the number 1 “Thing to Do” in Cape Canaveral. We have been to other Wizard of OZ Museums and they are superior to this one. The museum appears to be an extensive collection of the Wizards memorabilia, which someone has collected and neatly displayed it. Perhaps the owner needed a place to display them and opened a museum. The price of admission was more than we have paid at other museums and the souvenirs were priced very high. We were looking forward to our visit and were extremely disappointed.

By Michael R |

The Staff was friendly and informative. They explained how to use the QR Codes for the audio tour. My Aunt was able to listen through her hearing aids. Audio tour was great!!! You got things you might have missed on your own. Displays were done just right, not too much. The Wizard of Oz immersive was done really well. They explained it is based on the book and not the movie. The Van Gogh was nicely done. It provides a snapshot of all of his periods. This Museum is an intimate setting that all ages can enjoy and appreciate.

A great stop by in the afternoon. Love it!

By Annie W |

Great experience! A random stop by in the afternoon changed to a relax and fun time. I would recommend this place to family, children, or even by yourself. Love it!

Things to do in Port Canaveral

Best museum I’ve ever been to

By Melinda M |

Such an amazing experience! We enjoyed it thoroughly! So many interesting stories and history of The Wizard of Oz. I will return.

Pleasant Experience would come back

By J B |

Had a really good time the museum was very detailed. Enjoyed all the different time pieces they had on display. Didn't know Wizard of Oz had soo many different stories.

By Passport97316 |

I loved learning the history of the Oz books. I never realized there were so many! The immersive experience of Oz and Van Gogh was amazing. It was worth the trip.

OZ fun!

By NorthStar26597970513 |

Perfect place to visit if you are an OZ fan! It was great and the QR guided tour was full of facts.. especially ones I did not know. The immersive experience in the back was one of a kind! Bring your family… it’s amazing.

By rebecca |

Just left the museum (literally started writing this in the parking lot). This was not worth $32pp ($96 for 3 people!)

The collection of items on display is impressive (there are definitely a lot of items). The immersive experience was not smooth; the projection was jerky throughout most of the loop (except for the space scene—that was very clear and smooth).

When we came out, the owner (presumably) asked us what we thought. When we were honest and said it wasn’t worth the cost of admission, he spent the next 10 mins explaining to us how much it costs to run the place and how exclusive their collection is.

There are QR codes that give more info, but some of them aren’t quite accurate, as they move things around from time to time. We even saw info that was clearly taped to the inside of the display. I would expect a higher quality and level of attention to detail for the price we paid.

We were not impressed and wished we’d spent our money at the putt-putt down the road.

By scott c |

When you get there they have you watch a short video about the museum. This allows you to decide if you want to tour the museum or not. The number of historic pieces that they had was incredible. The interactive part was well put together. If your a fan of the Wizard of Oz I would highly recommend you visit the museum.

By the wizard of Oz museum in Florida, thank you Allen.

By Yehuda P |

The visit is a transport, to a magical space of a dream.

You owe it to your self as a deemer like me.

Best dream to dream cocoa beach.

Great Self-Tour of the Iconic "Wizard of OZ" Museum

By Smd |

As a long time fan of the "Wizard of Oz" we were so excited to visit the museum. It was a great experience. They have easy QR codes on each display to give you all the details of the memorabilia. They have a very cute children's room with a video and seats for the children to watch and explore all the items. They have a 360 visual experience of traveling through OZ . They also have the traveling 360 visual for Van Gough as well. We paid a Senior entrance fee of about 28.00. We spent about 75 minutes browsing through all the memorabilia and It was well worth the fee.

By grrrkt |

This museum and immersion experience is amazing!!
I’m not sure what an enjoyed more- the Wizard of Oz or Van Gough portion — it was all great.
Every true Oz fan needs to come here when in the area!
The staff is super friendly and helpful.
A must do in the Florida Space Coast!

So much better than expected

By ChillOutInJax |

I was a little hesitant when my wife suggested this, especially after having such an awesome time at the Kenndy Space Center the previous day, but it was excellent. Great information, history, and displays. The immersive room was just that. Picture a 21st century holodeck (Star Trek). While not quite the TV esque experience, it's as close as I've seen. Wonderful! We'll definitely be back (and bring more family).

Amazing experience!

By Brandie H |

We had a most wonderful experience today at the wizard of oz museum in cacoa beach, fl. Vincent started our tour off right with some great information. It was fun to see and learn about all of the memorabilia and the interactive show was absolutely amazing! A must see!!

All things Wizard of Oz

By Susan W |

Great Museum of everything Wizard of Oz! So many artifacts and great information. We thoroughly enjoyed it and brought back some great memories. The immersive experience was very interesting. The manager was very friendly and informative too. It was a lot of fun!

Great for Kids and Adult interests alike!

By Mike B |

This museum is a MUST DO if you are in the central Florida area! Just an hour from Disney, 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport, and 5 minutes from Port Canaveral, it is perfect for when you need subverting to do during an off-park day, or while waiting for your flight or cruise to leave!

It was a fully immersive experience, amd had great learning experiences for children. The adults will find as many interesting things here to do as the kids!! Enjoy it!!

Wizard Of Oz Museum.

By Departure660958 |

For fans and collectors of The Wizard Of Oz, there is so much to see and enjoy. It’s about 10 minutes from the cruise port. There is a short movie and also the Van Gogh experience which is an extra bonus. The collection is truly vast. We spent 4 hours just reliving the movie and all the memories.

By Melissa Provost |

The Wizard of Oz Museum was absolutely amazing! My wife, my mother-in-law, and I went on Sunday 2/23/25. The employees were extremely welcoming and informative. They took the time to explain everything we needed to know about the experience. Once we entered the museum, we were blown away. The artifacts in the room were unbelievable. There was memorabilia starting in the 1850s and went all the way up until today. Then, there was the immersive experience. We were truly blown away by the quality of the experience. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area.

Fun for the family

By Joshua J |

We absolutely loved The Wizard of Oz Museum and the Van Gogh exhibit! The immersive experience made our visit truly special.

Some highlights include:

Many complete collections and various original items
Walking along the Yellow Brick Road at the museum entrance
A well-stocked gift shop with a variety of unique items
The opportunity to take pictures with Dorothy and sit on the Emerald City throne

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we highly recommend it to both Wizard of Oz and Van Gogh fans!

Family tour

By Jburns42001 |

We were waiting to go to the airport and killing some time and this popped up on google.
So we went and the grandkids had the best time.
The youngest granddaughter loves the movie and enjoyed the experience.
Several interesting artifacts, pictures, knickknacks to look at from that time.

Fun oz experience for the entire family!

By Devin D |

Very cool museum! We loved the immersive room. The kids got prizes for completing their animal hunt. There were some cool props from the original film here as well! Would definitely reccomended!

Fun place to visit

By SF262 |

What a fun and interesting place to visit! Great displays with easy to read/follow information. The staff were friendly and informative. We met and interacted with the owner - such a nice guy!

Oz-some Experience!

By Ashley S |

Simply Oz-some! So many really cool pieces of book and movie memorabilia! I could spend all day in this place! The immersive experience felt so real... I sent a quick video of the tornado scene to my mom and she called me in a panic thinking something was actually happening and didn't know what was going on. 😆 Will definitely visit again!

By Christine A |

Before we even entered the building we were greeted with a small yellow brick road and poppies. We were welcomed in and a friendly staff member and asked to watch a very short video of what to expect in the museum. From there we could decide if we’d like to continue. Of course we did. We then enjoyed a self guided tour of some fantastic memorabilia filled with fascinating facts! My partner in crime for the visit is a hard pressed oz fan who learned an awful lot. One of the highlights of the museum is their immersive experience room. It’s a large room with a few benches and plenty of open space. Continuously changing scenes rotate throughout the room covering the walls, floors and ceiling. Have an open mind when you visit as there are a lot of variations and depictions of the characters. I’m looking forward to another visit soon!!

Best things to do in Cocoa Beach

By James C |

We visited here after we got off of our cruise and we met Fred and Vincent who were absolutely amazing. The museum is full of wonderful surprises. Vincent was extremely knowledgable on everything OZ and Fred was extremely helpful finding a great book! There are so many collectible items in this museum. Don’t let the vintage exterior scare you away. You will walk away learning something from the World of OZ.

By Michael L |

It’s very interesting and even if you haven’t seen the movie or read the book/s it was great.

Worth your time to visit for sure

Very nice museum visit!

By Marisabel D |

Family outing to Cocoa Beach from Miami to celebrate my Mom’s 4th of July birthday! Touched by the immersive wizard of Oz and Van Gogh experience. Touched by the owner’s love of the wizard of Oz and generosity to share his passion with others to enjoy! Beauty gave a nice introduction. A nice time spent. Highly recommend.

Great place to visit!

The staff was friendly and the museum had many items I have never seen. There are QR codes to scan to learn about the author. The Immersive experience was so cool!

Super fun & lots to see!

By Odyssey66477982390 |

This was a super cool place. My husband and I ended up in FL from out of state for an impromptu trip and I am a museum lover, so we have filled most of our time here with that type of thing. This museum was super fun, the staff was super nice, i found the price of tickets to be reasonable given the amount of artifacts on display as well as the authentication of a lot of them. There’s a self guided tour via QR code which is extremely informative. You are also able to do a photo op with the characters which was a ton of fun. The gift shop was extremely fairly priced with tons of items to choose from. We also enjoyed the Van Gogh immersive exhibit. We will definitely be back again next time we visit !

BEST WIZARD OF OZ Experience!

By Tracy L |

This was the most joyful and best experience I have had at a museum in a long time! The Wizard of Oz is my favorite move of ALL time and I was so joyful walking through and taking me back to my childhood. There is so much history of this movie in the museum and I learned much that I did not already know. The immersive room was my favorite as I wore my Dorothy costume from Halloween and was able to finally walk down the yellow brick road! LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Plan on 1-2 hours to look at and read all the interesting memorabilia!

Transport to Oz

By Jennifer B |

The beautiful historical items in this museum are endless. I enjoyed spending time experiencing the world of Frank L. Baum and all of Oz.

Interesting museum

By Jennifer M |

It was an interesting museum, lots to see, great for kids and adults. There was lots of history all things Oz related, tons of collectibles and the theater was captivating with all its angles and changing landscape. Neat place!

By KikiW21 |

From the outside, you’d question if you should go in (which my friend did!), but, once you’re through the doors and the gift shop, this is an amazing place!
There are great historic artifacts from the author, movies and plays as well as a spectacular Wizard of Oz / Van Gogh immersive experience. Artifacts include books (many first editions), scripts, costumes, photos, art pieces, toys, and games. The audio tour is really well done as well and clearly explains what you’re looking at.
The immersive experience first takes you down the yellow brick road, through the poppy fields and into Oz. It then transitions to the art of Vincent Van Gogh.
I learned a lot in the two hours we spent there. I was so interested that I had to buy the Wizard of Oz book to read it (spoiler alert: I never knew the tin man proposed marriage to one of the munchkins!).
If you’re in the Canaveral area and even just like the Wizard of Oz (you don’t have to love it!) I highly recommend this museum.

One Of Kind Museum

By Kim S |

Found the Wizard of Oz Museum for short stay FLA !! Awesome experience.!!We so enjoyed the museum, movie, photo ops!! The Wizard and Vangogh experience is a one of lifetime experience.

Follow the yellow brick Road to this amazing experience

Amazing!!!

By Corinne S |

It was my first time going with my family and it was an amazing experience! I will definitely come back! It’s definitely worth every penny.

Do Not Miss This, My Pretty!!!!

By Julie M |

What a fantastic collection of memorabilia!!! Movie props, the series of books, and entire collections of games, statues, lunch boxes, toys, and much more. There were also life-size scenes to make memorable selfies with. But the most amazing part was the immersive room. Although they couldn’t use movie scenes due to copyright, the scenes were creative and tied to the books by Baum with excellent music backdrop. And as a Space enthusiast, also really enjoyed the Webb Space telescope scenes. Highly recommend!!! The owner is a treasure trove of knowledge about anything Oz related.

You will 💚 it!!

By Mary L |

I throughly enjoyed this museum. The details outside lead you to the front door and a greeting area where you view a short film to give you an idea what to expect. In the museum I was amazed by the number of books and memorabilia. The puppets were my favorite display cases.
I’ve always been apprehensive to go to an immersive display because of vertigo. I am glad it was a scaled down version, because I was able to adjust to ease my discomfort.
In all, totally worth it and will be back. Looking for to Emerald City build in the future. 💚

A Tornado of a fun time!

By Yvette H |

No Wizard of Oz Fan should miss this experience! If you're not a fan...you will be by the time you leave! Get your "Ha,Ha,Ha and Ho, Ho Ho at this Merry Land of Oz!!! Fantastically Amazing!!!

By Tonya W |

A great stop while visiting Cocoa Beach! Highly recommend for any Wizard of Oz fan. If you’re thinking about it just do it! You won’t be disappointed

We were in Cape Canaveral for a long weekend of sightseeing. I first became aware of the Central Florida's Wizard of Oz Museum from a May 2024 article in The Villages Daily Sun newspaper. Knowing we would be visiting in December; I saved the article. I'm glad I did. Do not miss this gem of a museum.

We entered the museum from the 'Yellow Brick Road' entrance way and were warmly greeted by Ms. Jackie, the manager, who welcomed us, gave us an overview of the collection and suggested we download the QR codes for a more engaging and immersive self-guided experience. Of you are an Oz fan, the narration will mean a lot to you.

There are hundreds of the 1939 movie props, first edition books, souvenir-type collector items: toys, masks, plates, figurines and a host of other eye-catching pieces and structures. You cannot miss a "Winkie Guard" spear, a Dorothy dress and stole worn by Judy Garland, and a pair of ruby red slippers formerly displayed in the queue for Disney's Great Movie Ride.

We learned more about Frank L. Baum's work which began in the 1900's. He wrote the first 14 novels; after his death, Ruth Plumly Thompson and other authors continued Baum's work ultimately resulting in 40 books. These rare books are on display in the museum, the passion of its founder and creator, Mr. Fred Trust who envisioned a museum after collecting enough Oz pieces from the early 1990s.

Fun fact: Dorothy's slippers were originally silver. Why were they changed to ruby? It was determined that the color would show up better on the Technicolor Yellow Brick Road.

How did Mr. Trust become enamored with Oz? He is originally from the Soviet Union and an elementary school teacher read his class a long book throughout the school year. He started collecting and ultimately opened the museum in Cape Canaveral in 2022. It is the former location of a visitor information center.

Children will also enjoy the museum with a separate area with games, books, and the Oz movie on the projector.

But the museum isn't all there is to see. After losing yourself in Oz, continue your adventure into a separate room at the back of the museum with more than 30 projectors illuminating scenes onto the walls and floor of original scenes from the Oz books integrated with an immersive Van Gogh exhibit. The experience is not recommended for those with motion-sickness or who have seizure disorders. Plenty of benches are placed in the room to rest, reflect and absorb this stimulating visual and audible experience. You can even skip down "The Yellow Brick Road." We did not want to leave even after the 30-minute loop.

Be sure to visit the gift shop before you leave. There is certain to be a coffee mug, bookmarks, stickers and other delights to commemorate your visit to this wonderful world of Oz.

If you go: the museum is open daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tickets are $29.99 for adults and $14.99 for children. Plenty of free parking on the premises.

A great little find!

Visiting from the UK and decided to visit this museum based on a list of things to do in the local area that was provided by our hotel. I’m very glad we did find this place. This is quite obviously somebody’s passion and it shows. There is great attention to detail. There was a also a personal touch as we were given a detailed introduction to the museum by a staff member. This museum has all things oz including artefacts depicting Baum’s life and works as well as some props from the movie. The projection room is very impressive indeed!
Most definitely recommend.

I loved following the yellow brick road into the museum. We scanned the QR codes on the cases and found the narrations quick paced and interesting. The immersive experiences were an added bonus. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and their commitment to preserving such treasures is commendable.

For Wizard of Oz Fans

We visited here on 24 April 2025 while staying overnight for a cruise. My wife collects Wizard of Oz dolls, so she wanted to see it (yes, they had all of her dolls). For $30 per person, this is basically a large one room museum with lots of display cases full of Wizard of Oz games, history, books, novelty items and a large variety of paraphernalia. They had an original Dorothy dress, one of the original pikes from the castle guard scene, flying monkeys, and other displays.
There was also a small room running a very old Oz type cartoon and we watched, and something called the "Immersive Room" which was a large room outfitted with many projectors to make you feel (I guess) like you are on your way to the Emerald Palace.
I am sure it was expensive to build but we did not think much of it.

Overall, we could only recommend this if you are a big Wizard of Oz fan or just need to kill some time. It was definitely a "do it once and done with it" type experience and we would not go back.

Wizard of Oz Museum – A Journey Beyond the Rainbow!

As someone who appreciates well-crafted experiences, I have to say the Wizard of Oz Museum completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported into the world of Oz, surrounded by a fascinating collection of memorabilia, history, and immersive exhibits.

The highlight for me was the 360-degree projection room, where iconic scenes from the movie came to life in a way I’ve never seen before. It wasn’t just a nostalgic trip—it felt like stepping inside the story itself. The attention to detail in the displays was impressive, and I found myself discovering new things at every turn.

What made the experience even better was the staff—they were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the museum’s mission. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of The Wizard of Oz or just curious, this place has something special for everyone. Highly recommend adding this to your must-visit list!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road, Duh!

Went on a whim and I'm so glad I did. I learned a bunch about the Wizard of Oz and had fun looking at all the memorabilia. It's a fun collection spanning the decades with the characters recreated in different ways.

I downloaded the books using Guttenberg - the stories are wayyy more expansive than what the movie tells. And the immersive experience is really cool. It's worth checking out!

This was a great way to learn about the Wizard of Oz history. They have several original books and lots of original, prints, memorabilia and a fun animal search game to win a prize at the end for your younger family members. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, it’s a great place to sit and relax, you don’t have to be on your feet the whole time, the bathroom is clean And the van Gogh immersive experience is very relaxing.

What a Treat!

We had so much fun exploring the vast collection of Wizard of Oz books, clothing, posters, articles, figurines, toys, games and stories. Our hostess Michelle was fun and gave an excellent introduction to settle us quickly into our self-guided tour. Also loved the audio complementing each display, easily accessed with our own cellphones via a QR code. Tip for all - bring your own headphones for audio for the comfort of all. A great selection of merch was also on offer. It may appear unassuming from the outside but don’t miss this Space Coast gem.

Amazing!

Wonderful museum & a nice day trip. Props from the 1938 movie, first editions of the L Frank Baum books, and more Oz memorabilia than you've ever seen anywhere else. A must for any Oz fan--the immersive Oz/Van Gogh room is a must-see, too! Been twice & would gladly recommend to anyone looking for something to do in the area.
