Wonderful production theater.

By Olivia Q |

This is an amazing theater. I had to admit, I didn't expect much from a smaller stage, but after watching my very first show of their Season 44's opening - Fiddler in the Roof (Sept. 19,2013) I was hooked.
The music, the stage, the actors - all are professionally done.
Then there were Miracle Worker (Dec 2013), Don't Dress for Dinner (Jan2014 - which was sp hilarious, loved this production), Lés Misérables (Feb2014 - a magnificient production as it was amazing how they turned the stage for the musical), & Dixie Swim Club (Apr2014) - all these were one entertaining production after another.

Today they started the Season 45, and I am expecting another well planned artistic events. Join me in watching! :-)

A Nice Local Theater!

By Frank D |

We have now been to this little theater in Winter Haven twice. Both productions were really outstanding! The price of tickets is very reasonable and the way the seats are arranged, there isn't a bad seat in the house. Both productions we saw were really well done and had an incredible cast. If you haven't been there yet, give it a try. You definitely won't be disappointed if you like theater presentations.

Absolutely the best entertainment

By sweetpotatofry |

Their shoes are wonderful. All the actors are volunteers. They get paid zilch. But their performances are a 10! You have to go to a show here.

ALWAYS AMAZING PERFORMANCES!

By Viola60WinterHaven |

My husband & I attend Winter Haven Theatre performances whenever we have a chance. Every play or musical we have seen has been of very professional quality. Winter Haven is fortunate to have this jewel in our small town! An added bonus - an art gallery to peruse prior to the show & during intermission.

Theatre Winter Haven Well Done

By billm2575 |

The performance of Legally Blonde was very professionally done and well received by the audience. The cost of a ticket is very reasonable and well worth the cost. You will not be disappointed in attending any performance there. There is a intermission with Candy , soda, wine and beer available.

Theatre WinterHaven

By Jan W |

We have enjoyed many productions here . The quality of entertainment is very good and there are various plays and musicals that appeal to various tastes. Tickets are reasonably priced, and the staff are very courteous if you should require their assistance when exchanging them.It is a small theatre, with good visibility from most vantages. It is close to popluar restaurants, making it a great dinner/theatre night out.

Beauty and the Beast

By Hillview61 |

Went to this musical play last weekend and it was excellent! The music and acting were fabulous...this show is a Don't Miss for everyone in this area!! Great acting!!
The seats in the theatre are comfortable, all seats have a good view of the of the stage. Parking is easy and free.

An unexpected delight - Caught In The Net

By Paul H |

This delightful and compact community theatre is a delight...a totally unexpected find! The auditorium and seating are both first rate and clearly it is managed with both great care and professionalism.
Traditional English farce in Winter Haven? Yes indeed. A theatrical genre that has sadly been in decline in the UK since the heady days of Brian Rix. So, a double treat... Comfy seats and farce. The burning question would be whether a mostly amateur American cast could rise to the challenge and handle the fast paced dialogue of a piece set in south London. And could they convey the nuances and double entendres whilst holding down an English accent? A tough call.
The classic farce staging, complete with many doors to be slammed was simple and effective. The costumes were in part and forgivably not believably English; a few small touches was all that was required, but these did not detract from the overall experience which was joyous.
A great script performed and staged well is all you can ask for and that is what was delivered. Did the nuances come over? Mostly yes. The endless references to holidays in Felixstowe and pensioners waiting at Tesco for a taxi had me in stitches, but understandably passed over the heads of most of the audience. Did the cast manage the English accent throughout, sadly no, however Vicki was the most consistent in that department. But the entire cast put their hearts and souls into the performance and that carried the evening and I am still chuckling!

Best Community Theatre experience

By brad d |

What a wonderful p[lace, how they land these big name productions is beyond me, but I am so glad they do. the music, the acting and the stage settings are amazing. Hard to believe its community theater. Do yourself a favor and visit this place, you wont be disappointed..

PLAYS to go see

By ElaineandEd |

Small Theatre in the town of Winter Haven on Cypress Gardens Blvd. so matter where you sit you have a good seat. The shows are not all that expensive either.

Absolutely outstanding!

By JudyFert |

Award-winning community theater. Whether musical, comedy or drama, the casting, directing and set design is top notch. Acoustics are great and lighting, too. If you're in town during one of the shows, don't miss it!

Excellent theater

By Jan |

Just saw Joseph's Amazing Dreamcoat. Best performance yet. Lead singers right on the whole show. Just as good as professional theater.

GREAT COMMUNITY THEATER

By 329j |

I've been a subscriber for about 5 years. I've enjoyed every musical & special production that I have seen. The only problem is there is limited parking, especially when there is a college baseball game.

Great Theater, Limited Wheelchair Access

By Frank J |

This is a great little theater. I have had season tickets for four years now, and plan to continue. There are no bad seats, so don't worry about where you sit. Even the back row isn't that far from the stage. It is worth noting that if someone in your group has difficulty with stairs, there is an entrance at ground level, ask for seats near the front and ask where the lower level entrance is located. It isn't well marked. Otherwise, there are significant stairs, or a long ramp, to get in, then more stairs down to your seat. There are only two seats for wheelchairs, both in the front and use the lower entrance. The lower entrance has no stairs. For some odd reason, there is no way to get to the restrooms from the wheelchair seating without stairs so plan ahead.

Great Community Theartre

By Donald S |

This is an outstanding community theatre. We have been season ticket holders for 20+ years. The performances have won many local, national and international awards. If you either live or vist the area it is well worth your time to see a performance.

By the show or season subscription

By Happy_Dad102 |

Regardless of what ticket you choose you will get your money's worth at Theater Winter Haven. We have appreciated the show choices & enjoyed any performances we have attended. The theater size makes performances intimate & the quality of acting, set design & direction is very good. This is great entertainment at a fair price.

Great shows

Mermaid Has Risen to The Highest Height

By amc44d |

Mermaid is playing now. It is one of many super shows. Nuncrackers is next. Get tickets. There aren't any bad seats.

Amazing Award Winning

By Callibra |

There has been a change in the executive leadership as long time director Norman Small has retired. But the plays go on bigger and better. This treasured national award winning theatre is worth a visit. But get your tickets because many play sell out early.

Ridge Art gallery

By Sally C |

We visited the art gallery for a quick look round, the paintings are well hung and the lighting is very good.

Best community theater in Southeast

By stephenaW717SG |

We are thrilled to have this theater in our community. And it's in its fifth decade.

Memorable moments:
* dance scene from "Singing in the Rain" with rain falling and the dancer splashing it
* choir of gargoyles and timed bellringers from "Hunchback of Notre Dame"
* Lumiere becoming visibly less human scene after scene in "Beauty and the Beast"
* Outstanding musical impersonation of Buddy Holly, Karen Carpenter, Jerry Lee Lewis, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash

TWH brings six great mainstage shows every year plus special events. It is no wonder the theater earned best in the southeast in the latest competition, and won national awards as well.

Absolute outstanding performance

By sweetpotatofry |

The performance was absolutely outstanding. The actors really were into their roles. I'm not sure if we've ever seen a better performance. Second Samuel was showing, and such dedication to the meaning of the town Second Samuel was historic. I absolutely loved meeting the actors after the performance in their receiving line. That was the best part to really see them; they were so humble, and still playing their roles too. I already more tickets for the remaining performances of this season. I don't want to miss a thing they perform.

never a bad show !! how do they do it ??

By travelroc12 |

went to "legally blond", not expecting too much.
as on past, they did a great job.
numerous set changes, clear dialog !!!!
just a fun show.
no wonder they always have a full house.

Awesome Performances and Programs for Children

By vlalex |

There are some wonderful actors that get to show us their abilities at Theater Winter Haven. We are amazed at the talent you can see in this smaller town theater. Also they have programs for children that is out of this world. Children can be part of acting programs, technical programs, musical theater programs and putting on children's plays throughout the year. During the summer they have a children's camp that is outrageously cool and the children can learn all about all aspects of theater and then are part of a play that is put on for everyone to see. These are can't miss performances. My grandson has been going for about 4 years and what a fantastic experience it has been for him. Please come and check them out.

Always great entertainment

By Nicky R |

I've been attending productions at Theatre Winter Haven for more than 20 years. They are always outstanding quality. Norman Small does an amazing job of seeing to it that only the very best performances are on display. There are several plays that I've gone back to see again.

Ups and downs but a good community asset

By Susan T |

Most shows are fabulous and we have had passes for years. Occasionally they have a show that seems to be a stretch and we wonder what they were thinking.

However, for community theatre Norm and his crew do a great job! thanks!

Winter Haven's gem

By 624judyc |

Theatre Winter Haven is an outstanding community theatre providing a variety of musicals, plays and children's productions You could close your eyes and imagine you are in New York City or some other large city since the quality of the productions is top notch!

Always Great Shows

By Suppo28 |

We have been to 3 Broadway type shows at the theater over the past 3 years. All of the productions have been excellent from Fiddle on the Roof, to The Buddy Holley Story,to Pump Boys. They do it right and provide excellent entertainment at a reasonable cost.

Beauty and the Beast

By Patrick T |

I took my 12 year old daughter to see Beauty and the Beast last evening, expecting a community theatre experience, and I must say that this group left us amazed. This was a top notch performance from start to finish. The talent level was fantastic, the sets were excellent, and they captured and conveyed the Magic of the story to the entire audience. Well Done!!! we will definitely be watching their upcoming schedule

Great shows!

By 148genevieveb |

Theatre Winter Haven is by far one of the best theaters in this area. I have been a season subscriber for many years and have never been disappointed in any show presented there. Whether it be musical, comedy, or serious drama, Theatre Winter Haven is outstanding!

Small town theatre big city performances

By Patty P |

Talent abounds at this personal size theatre. No bad seats in the house. Big talent visits us here with loads of entertainment. Every performance is well worth the. Out of the ticket.

Superb entertainment in central Florida.

By Wayne M |

As someone who has enjoyed countless productions in New York City, Boston, and Washington, DC, I certainly did not expect to find that caliber of entertainment in Winter Haven, Florida....But, I certainly did. This community theatre consistently provides quality dramatic and musical productions. This area is fortunate to have a large number of talented individuals, both actors, set designers, and production personnel. ....and a very dedicated Norman Small who is responsible for the theatre's success.

Amazing--Broadway quality performance!

By Tony R |

Saw Shrek the Musical. Fantastic! The music was professional, the actors were professional, the sets were professional, the lighting was professional, the direction was professional--this was Broadway quality in Winter Haven! We immediately purchased season tickets for the upcoming season and cannot wait to see what's next!

Incredible! Best Small Theatre out there

By depb |

This theatre is so AMAZING! I have seen plays in London, Boston, NYC, Ireland, Tampa and more and this theater would be excellent against any of them and for some plays even better. This was such a wonderful gem to find when I moved to WH in 2010, I have been a season ticket holder ever since.

Singing In The Rain - Fabulous!

By BoilerMakerBob |

We are snow birds & Theatre Winter Haven is always part of our trip south.
This time it was Singing In The Rain.
The cast, set, orchestra were all top notch!
We are never disappointed in anything we see here & always look forward to the next performance!

Blown away

By Rob M |

We have seen three separate productions this year and I never cease to be amazed by the quality of the talent on display. The last show was Titanic and there must have been forty members in the crew. Most were of top caliber. I really don’t see how they can find so many really good performers play after play. I really think the theater is great but if you decide to go ,leave seats for us. New theater under construction so it can only get better. Because of the construction parking is more limited than usual.

Great Community Theatre!!

By soloplusone |

We haven't seen a bad performance in the last three years we have been members. I think it is one of the best theaters around for the money.

Great local theater -we now have a package to see the rest of the season

By Steve D |

We recently saw Beauty and the Beast. A great presentation. Music was spot on.
Looking forward to the 2nd play in the series, we have tickets for Mid December. Looking forward to it.

Million Dollar Quartet

By Deon E |

This was a wonderful show !!! They have a very nice theater. Great place to go for some good entertainment.

Sorry. Cant remember.

By Pfcch47 |

Can't remember the title, sorry. Have been to the Theater several times and have fully enjoyed the entertainment. The actors and actresses are so professional. Every visit has been a total enjoyment.

Very good entertainment

By Butc85 |

Was very surprised of the talent that this theater group portrayed. Sound was great, locations of the seating was good. This was our first visit & will definitley attend future plays at the Theater Winter Haven.

An award winning Community Theater

By bandmanjp |

Theater Winter Haven is the recipient of numerous national and international awards for its productions. The intimate theater has produced hundreds and hundreds of plays and musicals over the years. Many actors come from the Orlando area to perform there. The facilities (storage, dressing, staging )are a little outdated, worn out and too small for some productions. However, it still manages to put out a good product.

Fun and educational

By Eugene D |

What a great way to treat guests and yourself to a ride through the canals and on our beautiful lakes in Winter Haven, Florida.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable regarding the history as well as the many many water birds we saw on the trip.

We chose to depart from the Harborside restaurant for a 2 hour Cruise. Saved on the ticket and lunch before or after the ride. They offer 1,3 and 3 hour cruises.

Definitely an add to your bucket list.

Enjoy.

Theatre Winter Haven

By Just2Qut |

Getting season tickets to theTheatre Winter Haven was the first & best thing that I did when I first moved to Winter Haven.
The productions there are excellent. The price is reasonable. All around good deal.

Great performances at reasonable prices

By Deborah H |

cozy and friendly with high quality acting. really enjoyed Miracle on 34th Street around Christmas time

Theatre WinterHaven

By Jan W |

We have seen many productions here. It is a small venue, but all seats have good visibility.Ticket prices are usually around $20 or less. Very reasonable. There is a small art gallery to browse in before the show, and a refreshment bar.The entertainment is great, and a great value for the price of the ticket.

Legally Blond

By RDG |

Went this past weekend with a group. We’ve been before and the shows are always pretty good. We were all disappointed with Legally Blond. Actually, some people left at intermission. Too much high pitched screaming that was hard to understand although the second half was better. Would not spend the money.

I'm a local who doesn't miss a show.

By Bill L |

Top quality talent, a lot of the performers come to Winter Haven from Tampa and Orlando (Winter Haven is halfway between these cities). TWH has given real opportunities to our local students and thespians to shine! I especially like the musical comedies. TWH takes on the better known productions and the set design is fantastic. The seating is comfortable. Bring a jacket just in case.

Review of Theater Winter Haven

By muffye |

I've been a season ticket holder in previous years, but still go to at least two productions a year. The qualitity of performers, staging, and ambiance is MORE than professional!! We recently saw Footloose with two teenaged and they loved it!!

This community theatre is fabulous

By Nancy M |

Great shows with a wide variety of presentations, including, a children's theatre. We saw Mary Poppins in October and it was excellent. The quality is consistently high and the prices are right. We have season tickets and attend every new play.

Good theater for all shows.

By sammy10142016 |

We've been to several shows there in the last 4 years, and all have been excellant. Have no complaint at all. And good prices. We will keep going.

A Favorite Place

By cnteyssier5261 |

We have been season ticket holders ever since moving to Winter Haven 5 years ago. Cannot tell you how great the performances are, and the scenery is usually a good as New York. They are best in doing musicals, we feel. The other plays may or may not be to our liking. They are doing more and more musicals. Great quality for a non-professional theater.

WINTER HAVEN IS SO LUCK TO HAVE THIS THEATRE

By 909peggyk |

I marvel every year at the quality of shows we received for such a reasonable price. My friend and I have season tickets and I also buy tickets to other shows that are brought to this theatre. I just saw "Singing in the Rain" with my friend and a Legends concert with my 13 year old granddaughter. Always feel I get my money's worth!!!

Excellent Community Theatre

By ThriftyTraveler1226 |

The quality of shows that are produced out of this little community theatre is just amazing. Whether its an adult show or a children's musical, this theatre never disappoints.

Broadway Tinsel Lights and Action

Fun local small town theatre operated by native pro New Yorker Norman Small who brings culture class!

Annual Ticket Holders

By Grady M |

We have been annual subscribers for several years and have received more than a fair return on our investment. It’s difficult to remember that these programs are all performed by volunteers because everything appears so professional and the timing is impeccable. Because we are season ticket holders we have date nights almost automatically and for an old dude that’s a very good deal. Out to Dinner then to The Theatre, what a treat. Highly recommend!!

we saw "Sister Act"...it was first class,i thought I was in NYC

By henry M |

recommend buy tickets in advance...a nice little thearter. The show and scenery changes were great. We will return.

Professional local theater

By Abrndale |

Great shows by very talented cast members. Last saw Mary Poppins and it was fantastic. Well worth the ticket price!!

Definitely the best local theratre

By James126s |

Tine theatre is a definite step above community theatres. Their productions, sets, and actors are truly exceptional. Every seat provides a great unobstructed view of the stage.i would definitely put this theatre in a semi-pro rating.

Good times.

By Ursula07 |

Everything was great and the talent is amazing. My only complaint is how the wheelchair accessibility is arranged. There just much available and it is pretty high up.

Great tribute bands!

By AZjoy3 |

So far we have only been able to see a few tribute band shows but they have been just terrific. Looking forward to seeing some plays in this charming venue.

Excellent local talent with great seats

By Courtney M |

We've been coming here for years when we visit family in Florida. The shows are top notch and the talent is wonderful. The whole show is run by volunteers with a passion for musicals. We can sit close and feel we are right there with the singers. Our kids aren't thrilled when we go but it is great to expose them to culture at an affordable price. What else better is there to do for an evening near Winter Haven? Good clean entertainment. Probably not best for babies and toddlers given the whole room can hear any sounds made.

Great Community Theater

By Paul S |

By far one of the best community theaters I've been too. Great shows (including: Fiddler, Les Mis, Sound of Music and so on). Tickets are reasonable and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Highly recommend.

Excellent presentation of the play "Tuesdays with Morrie"

By James S |

Actors were superb. Theatre was full and very appreciative. Actors shook hands with everyone on the way out!

Best non-professional theatre by far

By Joanne H |

Having seen many theatre performances over the years including West End London shows, this theatre puts on some of the best musical performances I have seen from such a small non-professional company.

Not only are the actors themselves very good, the sets are extremely well done and are even better than some professional shows.

The theatre is small as it only has approx 300 seats, all of which have a good view of the stage, they offer a patrons package which allows you to choose your seat for each performance and you pay a cheaper rate for the season. Lots of people use this option so it is hard to get a seat closer to the stage, but even at the back, you are only about 20 rows from the stage.

The shows are very popular, so you do need to book if you want to get a seat and some shows are so popular they have even been known to put extra shows on.

Ticket prices are reasonable, especially if you compare them to some big theatre performances, I have seen Jesus Christ, Les Miserable, Annie, 39 Steps, Fiddler on the Rood, 9 to 5, Fox on the Fairway to mention a few.

A great place for culture in a less than cultural town.

Nice playhouse

By X1170YUstevenw |

This is a nice playhouse. The performers are talented and entertaining. The seats are pretty comfortable. They seem to have a good selection of plays to see.

Thirty years of wonderful live theater

By WardPorter |

This is a great live theater - one of the best community theaters in the nation. We will never miss a scheduled performance in the regular season and try to attend all of the special performances.

Mary Poppins

By Judy D |

This production was very professional. Absolutely loved it start to finish! The stage, props and scenary were so realistic.

Top Notch Community Theater

By schwartzapn |

This was my first time at Theatre Winter Haven. I saw The Hunchback of Norte Dame. The building is not fancy, but the production was superb. Excellent acting, singing, dancing, choreography, set design and orchestra. Truly exceptional community theater. I have seen many Broadway productions, and this was as good, plus much more up close and personal, and at a fraction of the price.

A Spectacular Night of Rock and Roll

By Barbara B |

What an evening! We have never been disappointed with the shows at the Theatre Winter Haven, and tonight the show succeeded in far surpassing our expectations. The presentation was MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. From the moment the actors appeared on stage, they had our instant admiration and appreciation of their talent. We had front row seats so I did not look behind me to see if the audience was bouncing in the seat keeping time with the music , clapping hands, and feet that would not hold still but I was doing all of that. I am 83, and had the time of my life going back to the good old days of rock and roll that I grew up with. I cannot say enough about the performers, the set construction, the sound, all those things that make the show come together. If you get the opportunity, please go and see this show, it is a performance of a lifetime.

Talent good,seats very uncomfortable

By Diane5260 |

If I just review the stage productions they are generally quite good and well worth the money. There is a big BUT in there as I can't fully enjoy the event as I am so uncomfortable in the chairs. That are narrow and low to the ground which make them painful to get in and out of. I can't go to this theater any more because of the chairs.

Theatre Winter Haven

By George B |

Its as good as off broadway in a small way, limited stage size, but your right up there with the production. The cast for Fiddler On The Roof was a mix of very talented seasoned and upcoming local actors. Well worth the price, usually under $25. Limited seating, but every seat is a good view. The one negative I found were the seats themselves, a bit narrow with wooden arm rests. Consider bringing a seat cushion. They keep it cool so you may consider dressing accordingly. Over all very enjoyable, plus there is a local artist display gallery to browse before the show.

Million Dollar Quartet

By Larry0138 |

The theater is a small hometown gem that manages to put on a show for locals as well as for the snowbirds that inhabit this area during the winter months. The Million Dollar Quartet was one of the best I have seen in a long time at any small town theater. The story line was the rise of Sun Records and rising star like Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash during the 50's. Doug Laver plays the part of Johnny Cash who has the most identical voice to the late singer that if you close your eyes it would sound as if Johnny Cash was standing there singing himself. I have to say when a friend asks me to join them I was not excited to spend the money to attend a small theater to see some locals try to impersonate top name singers, but the actors of this play blew me away with their performances.

Stage plays

By michaelaU3080UV |

Excellent acting and staging. Keeps the audience engaged and interested. The selection of presentations is varied bringing different talents to the stage. Ticket prices are unbelievablely low.

Broadway plays preformed by exceptional casts

We are so fortunate to have the pick of the best in Florida for casts and directors. When in town try not to miss of the great shows, at a price you can afford

Great Entertainment

By Joedolson |

Shows produced at Theatre Winter Haven are excellent. You can see how much the actors enjoy themselves. The theater itself is in need of a remodeling but that doesn't stop you from having a good time.

Theatre Wanted Haven

By Clp621 |

The productions at the theatre are professional entertainment of the highest quality. I compliment the staff and volunteers who serve.

Winter Haven Theater

By bdonc1020 |

We have been to a number of their productions over the years, and hats off to great performances, great shows and a really enjoyable and reasonable night of entertainment. Would recommend without any hesitation. You must go see a show!

Top Notch Community Theatre!

By Travelswell4fun2 |

For a Community Theatre, I have seen no better. I guess that is why the Theatre Winter Haven is continuously winning awards. It is amazing the talent we have in the Winter Haven area, but no surprise with the local colleges, fine arts programs and Harrison School of the Arts for high school students nearby. Not only are the actors and actresses good, but the costuming, sets and lighting/special effects for a community theatre are superb. This is better than going to the movies and you get to meet and greet the performers after the show if you wish. Another great thing about the theatre is its location, with the Ridge Art Association's art work on display before the show and during intermission. I hope the city can find some way to continue to keep the Ridge Art Association and the Community Theater close to one another.

Christmas Sock Hop

By Woodruffian |

Rock and Roll Group from Orlando area were fantastic. Acoustics were good presentation was excellent. A lot of high energy. Played many songs of Buddy Holly and "The Big Bopper". Nice mix of there songs and Christmas songs of other artists. Nice quaint theatre that lets you kind of get intimate with the band.
They will be back in March

Great little town

By buz w |

Great town.No shortage of lakes and great places to have a drink and eat.
Enjoyed a show at the Gram Parsons Theater..

Very nice place.

By Pappyk |

We don't go as often because there are no longer good movies and Hollywood stinks, but I would go here because it is clean and organized. Friendly service and great seats. If there is a good movie I would definitely go here.

Great Shows and Even Better People

By Kandice S |

Theatre Winter Haven never disappoints. The shows are always top notch - and the local talent is AMAZING. We are so blessed to have this gem in our own backyard. If you haven't been to a production, I highly recommend doing so. It is well worth the ticket price.

Mama Mia

By elizabethdB6010EO |

Excellent production put on by all volunteer staff. The costumes were beautiful and the singing and dancing were on spot. Overall a totally entertaining evening as always. Theater Winter Haven is first class.

Amazing little gem!

By Ronilda S |

This little theater puts up great shows with mostly local talents. The plays and musicals are excellent. Access and parking are easy and there are plenty of places to eat around the area. Prices are reasonable and if you are local you can purchase a package for even more savings.

Great shows at reasonable prices!

By Hillview61 |

Recently saw Singing in the Rain....excellent performance! It was a sellout and with good reason! Looking foreward to Driving Miss Daisy!
A great little theatre with above average performances !

Outstanding Productions

By Judith M |

The Theatre Winter Haven never ceases to amaze! Their productions are very professional. The wealth of talent in the area is truly fantastic! I am a season subscriber and look forward to each show, The theatre, itself, is intimate and there is not a bad seat in the house.

Beauty and the Beast

By Beachgirl |

The community theatre is old and takes you back to the old days, but the seats are comfortable. Snacks and drinks are sold at the entryway for reasonable prices. The show was excellent and very entertaining. The orchestra is awesome, and at times I found myself distracted watching them play the instruments .The highlight of the show in my opinion is Bayley True, who plays Belle (Beauty). She has a killer voice. I could sit and listen to her sing for hours. An undiscovered talent for sure. Better than most top singers today, she doesn't need to hide behind music. The show lasted about 2 1/2 hrs. Even children were entertained and amused enough to sit and watch. Highly recommended. I would get tickets early as quite a few people attend shows.

BIG FISH BIG SHOW

By WinterHavenPeppers |

Friends of mine like the theater like me. A live show will trump a movie anytime. I am not a season member, but when I do get a chance to see a show there I am not disappointed. Just saw BIG FISH and the talent is there. This a well known theater group and always hit expectations. For a town like Winter Haven we are very fortunate to have such a good group. All volunteer just means they love what they do and it shows. If people are ever at a loss to do something, if there is a play/musical on they should check out our Winter Haven Theater.

Always first class shows.

By Thomas W |

Saw million dollar quartet. Great show. Best part is how easy to get to theater and free parking. While tickets were very inexpensive, comparable entertainment would cost double or triple what we paid. Just a great evening made possible by the great entertainers and volunteer actors.

Adams Family Musical

By Theresa M |

I’ve worked in little theatre and I must say the sets created by this troupe were extraordinary. The set changes were flawless and the sets used were so well suited to the story and performance of the cast. The music was good and the story was entertaining. I suspect you will throughly enjoy an evening or afternoon transported into the world created by this cast and crew of Winter Haven Theatre. The price was reasonable and the auditorium is built so every seat has a good view of the action. So enjoy yourself 👍🏼

By ziggygirl |

Fabulous community theatre -- great acting and directing, a good mix of comedies, musicals and an occasional drama, and the set designs are wonderful. We've had season tickets for 20 years and it just keeps getting better and better. My only 'criticism' is that they do one farce every season, and I'm not a fan of them -- (always so predictable). Best community theater in the central Florida area.

Momma Mia What a Show!!

By KathyPLMN |

When I heard it was a community theater production, I grinned politely but didn’t have high expectations. Momma Mia was I wrong! These actors were really professional. The stars were amazing singers and actors. The choreography was so professionally staged. The other actors and extras did an excellent job of dancing and moving the stage settings with seamless transitions.

Fantastic. The performance was one of the most wonderful performances that we have ever seen and to be there in person was awsome.

Great Area Theater

By ShariG_DE |

We've now been to the theater twice and thoroughly enjoyed both performances. It is amazing that the cast are all volunteers. OK - it isn't Broadway - but we have been quite impressed with the singing and acting, and have already purchased tickets for another show. The value really cannot be beat. Also - the seats width wise are pretty standard but what is really nice is the room in front of the seats - people can actually get by without tromping on you or without you having to move into the aisle. The theater currently in use is relatively modest in size and I can believe that ANY seat in the place would be a good one.

Note - Make sure to give yourself a few extra minutes so you don't miss the lovely gift shop filled with art and crafts by area artists, as well as the gallery exhibit of artwork.

Theatre Winter Haven is a great source of community pride. We are blessed to have a well established community theatre program that garners support from our business community. Every production we have seen has been excellent in set design and performance.

Great live theater near by.

By Kim L |

Great time. First time for 11 & 8 year olds grandgirls attending live theater. Annie was great. Cast and crew wonderful. All volunteers very friendly. Seats comfortable and easy to acess. Candy, water, soda and adult beverages for sale. But ladies do calculations in their heads and added $2 to price. Oh well. Donation.
I hope to bring the girls again for another show. Easy free parking. Handicapped accessible.

Almost laughed myself to death!

The Addams Family at Theater Winterhaven was absolutely freaking hilarious! I saw this show on Broadway but the close intimate setting of this theater and cast enabled me to appreciate the nuances of the actors and their lines. “A grandma sandwich “ ? Really hilarious. Don’t miss it.

good entertainment

Every year my wife and I and this couple get season tickets to the playhouse. It gives us an opportunity to go for dinner and then see a good play. The playhouse is small several hundred people. There are no bad seats. The plays have always been well acted and good storylines. We look forward to these nights out.

Superb talent

This is a local theater with extremely talented individuals. With the new theater under construction, one can see the possibility of the shows advancing to an even higher level, if that is possible.

I have been a subscriber for most years since 2004. The variety of plays are impressive. The acting is very good for community theatre. I highly recommend seeing a show here.

This is some of the best community theater on the planet. The commitment of the volunteer casts as well as the professional directors, producers and technical crew is outstanding and results in some very fine productions. Ticket prices are a incredible reasonable considering the artistic quality. Don't miss TWH if you're in the area!

Not too far from Broadway

for a little community theater, it always seems to outdo itself. Most shows are superbly done, sets are outstanding, costumes are perfect and there is never a bad seat in the house. Take advantage of saving by purchasing the season tix.

So much Talent

By Bob S |

It's always special when you only expect people to entertain you. But, it turns out that the place is comfortable, cozy, not a bad seat, and everyone connected with the local production put there hearts into it. The people who sell you the tickets, the gratious lady that helps you find your seat. Then you discover this Production of Singing in the Rain has sold out the Winter Haven Theater 21 times. The last 2 added because of the demand from appreciative audiance. The people who live, or visit in Central Florida will find hidden gem in this theater. Enjoy Folks.

Play- I love You you’re perfect no change

Theater Winter Haven is magnificent and generates such talent. They draw not only from local actors but have artists from Disney come to the theater for major productions. Dan Chesnick does an incredible job directing the community theater and draws big names in plays to see as well. The set production is not what you would expect for a community theater- it is very professional and well done. We are season ticket holders and are never disappointed. Looking forward to seeing Kinky Boots in February.
