Pretty little house from the era of my parents first home. The tour guide playing up to the young women in the group was a bit uncomfortable.

Very enjoyable picture of an important but under appreciated president. Lots of interesting anecdotes and historical facts about those years. Just the history of the house itself was fascinating. Seeing the actual furniture books etc was worth the visit.

It is a good tour. I just thought it was a little over priced. We didn't get to see the President's car. I guess it's not kept there on the weekends. You don't have to do the tour. They have a gift shop that leads to a free museum. A person asked the lady at the gate if there was anything they could do for free but the lady never answered them so their group left. So, FYI there is a section inside the gift shop where you can go look at some history for free!

Easy to find, lovely grounds to walk for free if you don’t want the tour of the house - gardens aren’t necessarily lush but maybe its the time of year we are here, also Truman’s limo is on the grounds if you want to get a look at that, knowledgeable and friendly staff. We learned so much about the history of the house, the US government and operations and of course a bit more about Truman. The tour was just right at about 35 minutes, our guide, Bob was engaging and kept the group moving along well and made sure to ask if anyone had any questions. I have a strong interest in architecture and furniture history so it was very cool to see the original furniture kept so nicely in this balmy climate and learn about the textile research and reproduction to recover cushions and wallpaper - taking the cue from photos taken at the house during Truman administration. I also love mid-century ceramic ashtrays- I have collected some over the years - and there were some pretty cool ones on display here, complete with vintage Winston and Lucky Strike cigarette boxes alongside. You could visit this place in an hour or under or you could spend more time in the gardens than we did. I’m really glad we had this on our list of options. Highly recommend - I can’t even remember what we paid because I bought the tickets a while ago.

Tour was decent. Tad over-priced. Much of the information covered on the tour was straight from the video that we viewed and part of the display that we toured before doing the actual tour.

Very quant town.
Enjoyed the hop-on/hop-off.
Visited the Harry Truman summer White House. Educational. We have a newfound respect for president Truman.

This is valuable piece of history, but guide was too uncritical about the deeds of Truman. His decisions can be understood, but only if you also take Hirosima seriously.

We had heard lots about the Hemmingway connection with Key West before we visited but knew nothing about the Truman history so it was fancinating for us to discover that effectively the second White House was here during his presidency. Our tour guide, Anne, was passionate, enthusiastic and really brought the history of the place to life. A must do when in Key West.

Rain day activity. Chet was a great tour guide full of great information. Recommend you go early. Got in before the rain and only rained hard when we’re inside . We had done our research and put it on a list of indoor activities to do.

Cut tour guide was amusing and informative. I knew fairly little about Truman prior to the tour and feel like I gained a decent understanding of the importance of his role in American history.
The grounds outside were also beautiful, consisting of many gorgeous, mature trees, which are well marked, and they have a $1 brochure as well.

A wonderful slice of history in an unlikely place. Right in the heart of old Key West history was made from the Key West Accords to over a dozen trips by a president whom history has deemed the 5th greatest President of the USA. Our tour guide Greg M was wonderful, just full of stories, facts , and historical events. Seeing Truman's bedroom, poker porch, dining room just as he experienced them was a treat. There is a wealth of information in the pre-tour mini-museum section of the house. Really loved the 1950 Lincoln Presidential Car in the backyard. Truman's contribution to the civil rights movement and the events that followed is not a well-known fact but we are reminded of it in many of the exhibits and during the tour.

This was something neat to do to just kill the time. It's a tad pricey for admission, so if you're bored than this is something to do.

Interesting tour with a wonderful guide. Lovely to see the throwback decor to the 1940s and our guide provided some interesting tid bits of Pres Truman’s time in the Keys.

I really enjoyed touring Truman’s Little White House. Seeing the building and the furniture was interesting, but hearing stories from the tour guide is what made this tour so great. My guide was very knowledgeable and was a great storyteller. I learned a lot and got a new appreciation of President Truman, his family, and the Navy.

We enjoyed this tour. Lots of information. We bought the Key West Coupon book and had a buy one, get one free. Worth doing. Lots of photos of Truman and others in the home.

A must visit when in Key West, to experience history in the very capable hands of the staff. Rick, our guide, had a wealth of knowledge and was able to read his audience and tailor his talk. The ops boss, Tom, patiently handled my questions about process and ensured we had an amazing experience. Isabella was a gracious and informative gatekeeper. Highly recommend returning for multiple visits as there are many details one might miss on a single visit. Would also suggest calling ahead to ensure there are no early closures due to special events (which are critical elements of the larger support base of such a well respected charity). A great experience for the entire family.

Absolutely loved it! Greg M. was the best tour guide my husband and I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. He was so knowledgeable and he didn't drag anything along. He knew exactly how to keep the group interested in what he was saying. The history of the home was more than I was expecting. Make sure to go through the self guided room inside the gift shop. I couldn't recommend this place enough, and make sure you get the tour with Greg M.

President Truman used to work here in winter. I saw a lot of his memorabilia. I followed a tour guide. He spun a good story about Truman. I enjoyed his spin. Here is located near Duval Street. Learning history was much better than drinking beer at a bar around Duval Street.

About $25 for the guided tour. The guide takes you to a couple of rooms on the first floor providing interesting info. Then they give you a few bullet points about each room on the second floor but do not accompany the group up there. The group reassembles after everyone comes back to the first floor and the guide talks about the remaining room. Despite thinking it odd that the tour guide did not accompany us upstairs, it was an interesting place. I do not believe that there is an elevator. About 30-45 minutes for the tour.

We found the tour and artifacts very informative and interesting. Putting the facility into historical context, not just with President Truman but with other government dignitaries, was very interesting.

We loved our guide. If you go you will learn a lot about history. The house itself is the way it was back then, so don’t expect luxury , and it is nothing like the White House in DC. It was a working vacation place for many presidents.

A Tour that is extremely entertaining, educational and worthwhile. The entire grounds are magnificent and how they kept the historical furnishings, pictures, etc. are outstanding. Our Tour Guide, Greg M, was extremely knowledgeable and humorous. I am a History Buff, but my wife is not and she continues to tell everybody how fantastic this tour was.

Amazing time thank you! Loved the scenery, took so many great family photos and staff was amazing too. Will definitely be back next year on our annual family trip to Florida

Mary was an excellent guide who was very entertaining and knowledgeable. She totally made the tour. Definitely worth the visit.

I was not expecting a lot from this tour, but guide was excellent and learned a lot about Truman and Key West history. I would not recommend for young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour led by Greg M. and learned so much. Informative and just the right length. The curators presented this museum with keen attention to detail. Put this on your don’t miss list for your Key West trip.

Very informative tour about Truman’s time in Key West, and other President’s who stayed there.
We enjoyed hearing about all the historic decisions that were made at the “Little White House”

Went into this location with really low excitement about learning about Truman. Went more for the history. But our tour guide, Bob Wolz, turned the tour into an exciting story telling trip. He made this tour a great experience for us and I'm buying his book "Presidents in Paradise" ASAP! he made the most uninteresting items the centerpieces of historical events. Thank you Bob!

Beautiful setting for the southern White House used by president Truman. Very nice atmosphere for families to enjoy as a tour or just take pictures from outside the small compound. We were lucky enough to also catch the old black limo with the presidential seal driving nearby.

The Truman White House tour was informative and interesting. We learned lots about the history of the site and Truman in particular.
History buffs will love it.

Stopped in while visiting Key West. This was a really interesting piece of history, we learned a lot ot things we didn't know about this site. The home and grounds have been preserved extremely well, the staff are friendly and knowledgable. Well worth the admission price!

An interesting piece of American history. The tour was nice and informative, and glad they preserved so much of the furnishings and artifacts that were there.

A great piece of history tucked away in the Florida Keys! We certainly enjoyed the tour and our tour guide Kurt was very informative about the history of the house which included not only historically significant events but also how the house came into being and how it has evolved over the years. We appreciated being able to tour the home ourselves after the initial introduction with the docent on standby if we had any questions. It was a shame that the windows had not been washed in the upstairs lanai ; they appeared to have a good amount of mold that had been there quite a while. We enjoyed visiting the museum shop and made some purchases; however, while we do understand Truman was a Democrat, it would have been more appropriate to have a balance of political viewpoints and not just wall-to-all Democrats. Getting there is not easy; we studied the map very carefully before we went to make sure we did not get turned around. Parking nearby was not available; I guess we looked confused that we could not park our golf cart on the street and a lovely resident in the Truman Annex told us to park in the Truman Waterfront Park nearby which we did. It was about a 5-7 minute walk back to the house. We also purchased our tickets online in advance which we are glad we did because there several walk ups and we had a full tour group. Overall, it was a very good experience!

Enjoyable tour of the little white house. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The tour was probably a little longer than I would have wanted it to be but the guide knew a lot of info and wanted to share it with everyone. It was very hot inside the house. Lots of history and lots of stories. My kids enjoyed it.

We didn’t actually go in. Just viewed it the best we could from the outside. It appeared well kept. Not far from the Opal Resort and boat docks.

This is our second time here and was looking forward to it with having a different tour guide. It was informative but the guide rushed the tour. It was barely 30 minutes while the other tour was 45 minutes.

It's like you are taken back to the 1940's. The house seems frozen in time, and the story of a special president is well told by the guides. See the iconic images of him and Bacall. The announcement of his loss to Dewey. See his iconic clothes. Learn about the true meaning of "The Buck Stops Here".

I stopped in to the Little White House with my family (including 3 teenagers). We all loved the tour. The tour guide, Greg, was entertaining and informative. He stayed after to answer any questions people had. If you like history, this is a great stop!

Visited the Truman (summer) White House on Key West and took the guided tour. We were walking in the city and just by chance caught the tour that had just started - what a fabulous experience!! Very knowledgable and entertaining tour guide with all kinds if stories about the house in Truman’s times and right up to the Obama Admin. It was hot that day so got a break in the AC and learned a bunch about modern Presidents, especially Harry Truman! Highly recommended!!

Informational tour. A little dry/slow, but learned a lot. Greg M was very knowledgeable. Tried to make it interesting with stories thrown in the mix of facts. We didn’t get the scoop on the car outside which we saw other tours learning about, but I’d recommend the tour for older folks. Bonus that they had a military discount.

Nice place to visit for history buffs especially for Truman fans. JP was a great tour guide with plenty of knowledge about the White House. A must visit for anyone interested in past Presidents.

Enjoyable tour.
Tour guide very friendly & knowledgeable.
Open to questions from group.
Tour not super long.
Probably not for children under 12.

Good and historical. Tour only last about an hour. Guide was interested in his work, which I like.
Only negative is that you are just standing for most of the tour. I could tell some of the older folks started to have some discomfort.
I would recommend.

Great tour of President Truman's Little White House in Key West Florida.
Lots of insight into what it took to restore this house and hands on experience..Ride in President Truman's limo to get to the house.

I've probably read at least two dozen books about and by Harry Truman. I learned some things I didn't know. I'll bet each guide does it a little differently.

Very interesting tour! We are history buffs, so we really liked it and this tour fulfilled that interest. Our tour guide, Chet (?), was EXCELLENT!

This is a former home of Harry S. Truman turned into a museum as he made 11 trips to this home in Key West, Florida. This museum is very interesting and educational as it looks at his private life behind the scenes. There are different tours available. Our tours guide was very knowledgeable sharing fascinating stories of Truman's life in Key West. His presidential limousine is on display outside for picture taking and available for a ride with the purchase of a different tour. There is a very nice gift shop. Worth the visit.

Having visited the Truman Library & Museum last year in Independence, MO, we were thrilled with our guided tour of Harry S. Truma Little Whitehouse. Our docent, Mary, gave an excellent tour of the house and truly educated us on Harry Truman as President and a person. A lot of history and a lot to learn about Truman, his presidency once Roosevelt dies, and the challenges he faced as President. The house is beautifully decorated with many items matching its rich history under Harry Truman. We have an even better appreciation of Harry Truman, as a man and President. He faced MANY challenges basically head on during his Presidency. His decisions made a significant impact on the direction of the United States.

We did not pay to go inside. You can walk around outside. You can also go into the gift shop where 2 rooms of artifacts are on display. We were lucky to see Truman's car parked outside.

I was absolutely delighted with this visit. Yeah, really. We're going into history, the intimate history of a house, history, a life. Welcoming at the top. The guided tour was great. The guide was top and top. Excellent really. Impressed.

The fee was worth the tour. Tour guide was knowledgeable and informative. He made you imagine what life was like in Key West then.

Visiting Truman's little White House is an extraordinary look into history. The small, plain - even utilitarian space provides a window into another time in Key West and into the presidency. Its hard to imagine the president operating in such small surroundings, with few staff, little connection to the rest of the world, and little in the way of luxury. Just a few people around a card table in what looks like a middle school cafeteria. Hard to imagine the decisions made here at the start of the Cold War, when in retrospect the heart of American power felt so delicate.

Well informed guide Bob shared many details and interesting stories about the house and the items on display. Very well done.

Greg M was our guide. He was informative, knowledgeable, pleasant, just great. This is such a great tour. My son who's 18 was "I can't believe I'm walking on the stairs Harry Truman walked on". Yup, that is what is so great about preserving history!
Tour was 30 min or so and did not include the whole house. The Truman Annex, which is the neighborhood, I guess, where the house is is gorgeous.!! Oh to live there!!!
Don't bring little kids. Make sure the kids like history. Totally worth it~

Learned a lot about Truman and Key West by taking the guided tour. Tour Guide was excellent and funny. Have been to Key West several times and this was not at the top of my list- but now I regret not visiting sooner. It's the kind of place you can go back and see more each time. Beautiful job of preserving the house and property.

Greg M was our tour guide and did a good job. He was especially sensitive and accommodating to one of the tourists in a wheelchair. I was surprised at the entry fee, especially since we had just left the Hemingway House and it was much less. We were told the tour would start “in one minute” and then we waited a good 10 minutes sweating in the heat. Once started, the tour was, at most, 30 minutes. Glad the home has AC. The neighborhood surrounding the home is very pretty and we enjoyed walking around there after we left the Little White House. Not sure I can recommend stopping here but if you are a big Truman fan, go for it.

Wonderful historic property situated on immaculately landscaped grounds. Very tranquil. Loved the entire Truman Annex. Beautiful foliage and architecture all around. Quiet and perfect for walks away from all of the craziness surrounding Duval Street.

An interesting piece of presidential history here on Key West. It was fascinating to see where an old president spent a bit of time and the structure and function of an old Key West residence. Very neat to learn a bit more about him and see some memorabilia.

A nice guided tour of this home which became the get-away spot for President Harry S. Truman. Our guide was very informed and shared some interesting bits of history. Great for understanding the significance of Truman's Presidency. The only disappointment was that they do not allow photography inside the home. I enjoyed seeing the Presidential limousine.

The history this building holds is incredible. From its origin as the commandants house, to its us by Harry Truman and Colin Powell. A must, our tour guide was a history teacher from Chicago and an excellent story teller.

We only visited the exterior which is free and the small exhibition on Truman which is in the souvenir shop. We read in a famous French guide that the visit was expensive ($25 per person) and only for the glory of the former president. Not at all furnished as we would have liked. The houses around are superb and well worth a short stroll in this ultra chic area.

Great guided tour by a knowledgeable guide. Interesting history regardless of your political preference. This will take you back a few years.... furniture and all.

The historical home was very interesting. Part of the exterior is being renovated but the inside was air conditioned and comfortable in the 98 degree heat. Our tour guide was full of interesting bits of information about how Harry Truman used the home. There is a small gift shop at the beginning and end of the tour with Truman related items.

Truman Little White House is in a little neighborhood with air conditioning. My favorite room is with the poker table and the bar with bourbon.

Very interesting!! Love the history and hearing the history about Truman. Things I never knew. I love learning about out wonderful history.

Definitely take some time to do this. Very interesting and informative! Your guide was a great storyteller. I'm really glad that we did this!

Very interesting bit of history. Our guide, Bob, was great. You can tell he has a real love for the building and its history. The pictures throughout the home were so fun to look and envision that time in history.

Enjoyed touring the Truman "Little White House", learning more about his Presidency and association with Key West. Tour was interesting and guide (Greg) was knowledgeable however .... it was a little distracting (and concerning) that he seemed to be "under the weather", and coughing quite a bit during the tour.

If history interests you, this is a fantastic place to visit in Key West. So much to learn from Bob, he is a tour guide, but has also written a book about this historic and iconic home.

Very interesting tour lasting approximately 30-40 minutes…air conditioned. The tour has renewed my interest in U.S. Presidential history. The tour can be bundled, at the time of purchase, with admission to the Shipwreck Museum and one other attraction to save $.

This was a really good tour. The home has been kept as it was during Truman's stays. Lots of history . He truly was a common man, nothing too fussy.

We toured the museum with a small group with an entertaining docent. He knew his facts and was lighthearted in his approach.

Built in 1890, apparently this beautiful and historic property served as Key West’s naval command headquarters during the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II. In 1946, it became the winter White House for then President Harry S. Truman. Today, it's is a active museum open to the public.

Due to time constraints during my March 2023 visit, I did not enter the museum. The GPS was no help.
I was looking for another point of interest when I came across it.
One street over from the museum is a Private Neighborhood access entrance denoted by prominent museum signage on the wall. Only private residents and their guests cars beyond this point.
The museum iron gate surrounds well a manicured lawn which boasts the Key West Home draped by flags which includes history markers to enlighten you. The vehicle sits outside under a canopy garage.
Key West is an enchanting
destination.

My family and I never actually made it here. It was just too difficult to find and then get to. A lovely woman working in the gift shop told us how to park and get in and even she said, "it's not easy to get here". After 20-30 minutes we figured out how to get here, the parking was $20 and the parking attendant was asleep under a tree! I'm out! Nothing was worth all this aggravation and frustration.

Carl was a great guide! Good speaking style, easy to understand. We have been to Key West a few times, however, this was our first visit here. Learned a few tidbits about Key West in general, and about Truman in particular. I need to seek out a biography!

Very interesting stories told by our tour guide Bill. This house has a big history and we enjoyed the learning about the visits of Truman and other high level government officials.

Second visit here, and it was just a good as the first. So much to take in, and we all learned some interesting things about the house and Pres Truman. The home is air conditioned, which cools off the tourists and preserves the home. Guided tour takes about 40 minutes. Nice gift shop in the house, and a small museum.

We had a great family day seeing the Little White House. Our guide imparted many fun facts about Truman’s life while in Key West. The artifacts are very well preserved and add much to the tour.

The tour guide was wonderful. She shared lots of stories about the history of the Little Whitehouse, the Truman family and other presidents that have stayed at the home. The tour lasted about an hour with questions.

LOTS of history!...and a FANTASTIC tour guide, Greg M.!! He was terrific. The decor was interesting, yet simple. I loved the wooden floors of the outside porch.

We really enjoyed our tour at the Little White House. Our tour guide Rick as really knowledgeable and told great stories. The house was so well preserved and felt very much like a time capsule--it reminded me a bit of when I visited Graceland--just so well preserved. Our only real complaint was that our tour group was SO BIG. It really would have been so much better if the group had been maybe half the size. But overall, we enjoyed the visit.

Really interesting and worth a trip around the interior of the Little White House, quite enjoyed it.

Knew about the museum prior to my trip, but kind of came here on a whim last minute and very glad I did! Didn't know a ton about Truman prior to the tour (aside from the bombs and VP to FDR), but found him pretty fascinating and gained an appreciation of his presidency. Cool to hear some of the stories about his time in Key West and about some of the important people who had been in that same house we had!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and I highly recommend doing this in Key West.

I stopped in mostly to get a break from the heat and left thrilled with the tour and all I had learned. Our tour guide, Bob, literally wrote the book on the Little White House and was really able to make the history come alive. I had no idea that so many important things had happened in the Little White House over so many administrations. What I really loved, though, was learning about all that Truman did in support of civil rights.

As a huge fan of US History, this tour was fascinating for both my wife and myself. It's hard to believe that decisions that affected the future of our country (I won't give away any spoilers) were made in this very location. The grounds are beautiful as well. I snagged a couple coconut palm seeds laying on the ground to take home and plant as well, but sadly the never took. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Great "step back in time", to when times seemed simpler than today. Reasonable cost, easy to get too, close to shops and places to eat.
BOB, was a fantastic guide. Aside from the general tour guide presentation, he was full of little tidbits, so as to make you feel a part of the history experience.

The most expensive museum/minor attraction on the whole island while it also manages to be the shortest as well. And it’s one of the only museums on the whole island that isn’t non profit or only benefits off of customer sales either, it’s owned by Florida State. Greed at its finest.
The only reason i gave it a 2 was because of how kind and polite the workers were in the gift shop. One of the elderly gift shop workers actually almost fell on the steep steps coming out of the gift shop bringing out a big container, while the young worker was and is under a tent in the front of the yard just standing there doing nothing but giving out tickets. Those elderly workers better get paid good, but they probably don’t. Such a shame.

Great tour! Very informative and our guide Bob was fantastic! He definitely kows his history about the Little White House! Highly recommend!

Truman fans will thoroughly enjoy this tour of Harry Truman's Little White House. The docent provided historical facts and tidbits about this president to accompany the glimpse into his private world. Truman's presidential limousine was on display outside the house this time, and we saw it later cruising down Duval Street! Impressive! The gift shop offers many items for Truman aficionados, and I purchased one of Margaret Truman's novels as one of my souvenirs.

Thanks Greg M for an excellent tour of the Truman White House and sharing parts of his presidency that we needed to be reminded of. He truly sought change for the better and “the buck stops here “

The history held within the walls of the Little White House is amazing. Walk through the rooms where some of the most important decisions affecting American history were made. Don't miss it.

Feeling presidential? Come visit Harry Truman's historic desk in Key West and stand at the very spot where momentous decisions were made! And if you need to make any important calls, just pick up the antique phone on the desk - we're pretty sure it's a direct line to the Oval Office.
So come on down and experience the power and prestige of standing near Truman's desk. Just don't blame us if you suddenly feel the urge to start whistling "The Missouri Waltz"!

An interesting visit giving good insight into Truman as a person, as well as President. The building, originally on a naval base, is modest for a Presidential residence, but filled with interesting items. Our tour guide was well informed about Truman's years as President and how he used the Little White House, and he was an excellent communicator. The tour was a little pricy, but we thought it was worth it. Note, there is no parking nearby.

Very, very interesting tour. Has an original Dewey Defeats Truman newspaper and Buck Stops Here sign from his desk. Easy to get to from Duval.

This was a surprisingly interesting tour. We expected it to be good, but it was fantastic. Our tour guide, Bob, has been there forever and has written books on Truman. He was very knowledgeable about the home and the Trumans, and that helped make the tour special, too. Highly recommend!

Very neat place to visit. Our tour guide Bob was awesome. And very informative. Learned so much that we didn’t know about. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Very interesting tour. Our guide was informative and pesonable. We learned little know facts about HST. We have been to Key West several times, but this was first visit here. Would visit again.

Loved the tour-and we had the best tour guide ever. Rick was thorough, and truly enjoyable. My wife & I were thrilled beyond belief.

A wonderful look inside the vacation home of President Truman. The guided tour was full of great information and amazing stories of Harry's time in Key West. Don't miss it.

Located on the former Navy base, this section is Key West struck me as the most swanky. Beautiful properties throughout, this was a great site to visit. Knowledgeable tour guide, we got to walk through most of the house. Neat to see so much history preserved.

Great tour of HST’s retreat. We were able to see period appropriate furniture and settings. We were able to learn much about HST, both of his life and administration. He must have been a fun character as president.

Great guided tour of the house. Learned a lot about a President Truman as well as other presidents that stayed there; plus history about Key West.

Our guide, Bob, was fantastic! Great stories, knowledgeable, and a fun sense of humor. You could tell he really enjoyed his job and treasures this historic house. We learned a lot!

When we began planning our trip to Key West, my son listed this tour as the activity that he wanted to do the most. We are so glad that we took him. Our guide, Ann, was very knowledgeable, and we learned so much history. It was really neat to see how things looked when Truman stayed at the home.

My husband and I both enjoyed the tour. You learn a lot about Truman and also other presidents who still use the property. Dewey was a great tour guide.

This tour was very educational and Bob was a great historian with a sense of humor. We would take this tour again! The grounds are beautiful and the home is gorgeous. Well worth it!

In the past we had done the free visit here- you can see a couple rooms and displays as well as the outside of the buildings and the presidential limo without buying tickets. This year we bought the tour tickets and we were glad we did. The tour was great and our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Harry Truman spent a lot of time in KW and he accomplished a lot of important work from here.

When visiting Key West for the first time, it was highly recommended we visit Harry Truman’s Little White House. Our tour was guided my Greg M. Greg was professional, engaging, welcoming to questions, and made the experience very enjoyable. The property was beautiful inside and out. The tour brought me back to high school American history, highlighting Truman’s accomplishments and timeline. I gathered a refound respect for Truman and his work. Our tour guide also provided us with tips for the rest of our stay! I will be recommending this experience to future visitors.

If you enjoy US history and are fascinated by US presidents Truman's Little White House is well worth the visit. The tour is relatively short, but then the house is not that large. But you can to stand in the rooms where history was made and where the President played poker and slept.

This was a fascinating tour and we learnt so much about Harry Trueman. The highlight was undoubtedly meeting Harry's grandson who happened to be staying in the house at the time of our visit.

Very interesting tour. Our guide was informative and pesonable. We learned little know facts about HST.

We enjoyed the tour. The guide was great and had lots of little anecdotes about Truman & those he entertained there. Lovely little house. An interesting piece of presidential history.

An excellent tour. Our tour guide - Greg M. - was outstanding. Knew how to project so everyone in the group could hear. He has an incredible amount of knowledge about this property and the history behind it and it's obvious he enjoys sharing it with others. As a bonus, at the end of the tour while talking with Greg Truman's grandson was staying on the property and we had the opportunity to meet him - such a nice and down to earth gentleman. Highly recommend.

this car! The highlight for me was seeing the 1950's limousine that President Truman used during his term. It is still operational and you can take a 1 hour tour in the vehicle. While walking around the city, I saw the car parked in Mallory Square. So even if you don't visit at the museum, you may see it on the road or parked in town.

The tour guide was fabulous. The history of this site is fascinating. So much American history took place here. Great tour and well-worth the time. I purchased tickets in advance online - usable any time. You may have to wait for the next tour but in the heat, there were benches with fans and the gift shop sells cold water and soda. This is definitely worth a visit. Not a tour for small children.

I loved our tour of this home and hearing all of the stories associated with President Truman and his time in Key West. We took the Duval Loop bus from our hotel and then walked a short distance to the home. We had a little extra time before our tour and just wandered around the small grounds looking at the different trees with a guided map of the grounds.

The Truman Little White House is a fascinating jump back in time. The interior preserves many of the furnishings and objects that were present when President Harry Truman spend time there many decades ago. How are tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun and was able to present the information in an interesting and engaging manner.
We would definitely recommend a visit to the Truman White House for anyone who enjoys history and learning about new places.

This was an interesting glimpse into the life of President Truman. The house is very much a family home, and the Truman’s spent much time here. It has also been used by several other Presidents. Visiting is timed, and only with a group and a guide, but our guide had so many anecdotes, that he made the visit all the more interesting. Definitely worth visiting and within easy walking distance of the central town area.

31st July 2024.
The tour cost $68.85 for three of us. We were met by what seemed like quite a ‘surly’ lady who told us that we could only visit the shop and grounds without a tour.
Bob was a great guide and spoke well. However, I did feel a lack of sensitivity over the Hiroshima bomb (approved by Truman) and then a second one which apparently, he might not have approved!!
The tour is five rooms. A breakfast/bar type room, a dining room, two bedrooms and an area outside the bedrooms. I got the feeling that the house was quite small until I saw it from the outside. So I guess it is quite limited in what you are actually being shown.
I’d read about a presidential car, but we saw no sign of it.
We finished our tour 15 minutes before closing. Gift shop was nice but the rest room was locked. We asked in the shop but the lady had no key and Bob advised us to go to a public rest room 15 minutes walk further down the road. The ‘surly’ lady had gone and it seems that she might have had the key.
In the heat of Key West, the walk to the rest room for a 70 year old man and his 60 year old wife is not nice. The staff didn’t didn’t care and didn’t really want to know.
I’m not sure whether I’d recommend this or not. I won’t visit again because it’s quite expensive really, for a limited tour.
In contrast to another visit that we did, this seemed restrictive and had what seemed like slightly tetchy staff. The Butterfly Centre up the road by contrast was cheaper, you could stay as long as you like, you could leave and come back, they had open restrooms and the staff were lovely.
Huge contrast to this dark house where you aren’t allowed to photograph and even if you did, it’s very dark and it contains staff who don’t seem to have much to do with you really, except Bob with his talk.

I am an author and found the guided tour of Hemingway House to be inspirational. Beautiful grounds, hilarious six-toed cats everywhere, the author's stark writing studio in the midst of a place that felt like Paradise. He must have had tremendous discipline to manage to write in that environment!

Throughly enjoyed our tour of this site. Our guide was very knowledgeable but rushed us through because of another group behind us which felt a little disrespectful. The site and history are amazing. Don't miss the little free museum inside the gift shop if you don't want the full tour

We took this tour on a whim. I found it very informative. I didn't know much about President Truman prior to the tour and left with a deep respect of him and what he accomplished.

This was an excellent history lesson and well told. The house is in its original state with many original furnishings. Not only a political history lesson but a Truman family history and house grounds. Well worth. Little bit off the beaten track to find but in a secluded gated community. Easy access and entry.

We love this place. It brings a lot of history alive and gives insight into President Harry Truman. We visit the little White House every time we are in Key West.

My wife and I visited President Truman's Little White House in Key West. We used a guided tour which was rather boring (compared to other guided tours we've been on). The home and displays were nice and we earned some history but all in all, I wouldn't recommend the tour for the price

This tour was very interesting-the grounds are beautiful and the small museum is very informative. Our tour guide Greg M was awesome and answered all questions in detail. Learned so much about Truman - this is a must do in Key West.

We got an informative tour, from a guide who knew a lot about the presedent and the history of the home.
I learned a lot of facts I didn’t know about him and the history of the home.
This tour was worth the money and our time .

Great tour and so interesting. Our tour guide, Chet, offered wonderful insights. I particularly enjoyed seeing the Little White House decorated as it was during Truman's administration.

When our wonderful tour guide, Mary, pointed out that President Harry S Truman enjoyed his nightly bourbon, I had to ask the brand, being a Kentucky native. She said he went cheap with Old Grand-Dad Kentucky Strait Bourbon Whiskey. My wife and I learned so much about one of the best presidents in U.S. history! Thanks, Mary!

Harry Truman created his home away from home and you need to walk through the halls of the Little White House to see the history that is contained here. The replica of Harry S. Truman is an amazing likeness to the man.

It was President Harry Truman who used this 1890s building as the home of U.S. naval officers, as the Winter White House where he took refuge to address the most sensitive issues of his presidency. And his decisions were truly momentous; we remember the first use of nuclear weapons and the beginning of the Cold War. He came 11 times and met with the highest levels of his administration to finalize the Marshall Plan and the Fifth Executive Order for Civil Rights. Six American presidents have used it. Now owned by the State of Florida it is open to the public and almost all of the furnishings are from the Truman era. The US government's Departments of Defense and State regularly use the Little White House for dinners and diplomatic missions. Worth a visit

was just about $100 for 4 ppl. Tour was less then 20 min. Not much to look at. I would not do this tour again I was a bit disappointed.

This is a neat spot to learn about Truman, but there is also a lot of history both before and after him that you can take in as well.

We didn’t hear enough about Harry growing up or almost anything from his pre-White House years. The docent was good and informative, but I wanted more. Tour was maybe 30 minutes.

For anyone with even a remote interest in history this is a MUST! So much to learn and so fascinating to get a behind the scenes appreciation for President Truman and the huge part Key West played. Our guide Joey had a remarkable knowledge of the Little White House and the Truman Family. You will only regret it if you don’t take advantage of this gem of Presidential History.

An exceptional tour and place to visit. Our Tour Guide was excellent. This is very worthwhile to see when in Key West. The residence and furnishings along with Truman's Limo were very interesting.

The history the the tour guide gave us was so interesting and informative. The stories about Truman were priceless!

We have visited the Truman house in Independence, Missouri, and his Presidential Library. Now we have seen the Truman Little White House and learned even a bit more about him … more of his personal side. The guided tour was well done, interesting, and a good length of time. You visit two floors and can visit the gift shop there if desired. I would give this a good recommendation for others visiting the area based on our experience.

This was a nicely constructed bit of presidential history in the Florida Keys. The grounds are lovely and well restored, the gift shop was well stocked, and the guide was both knowledgeable and passionate about President Truman's time in Key West. They have done an impressive job at restoring with both original and period furniture inside!
It felt a bit overpriced for a half hour tour but I'm still glad I went.

The tour was very interesting. We learned a lot about Truman and others who visited the Little White House. The tour guide was rather dry but provided a lot of information and answered a lot of questions. Worth the half hour to get a little bit of history.

I had wanted to visit this site as I am a Truman fan - and this site lived up to my expectations. The house is well preserved and furnished with the actual furnishings used by Truman and other presidents. It is a lovely home, and a taste of old Key West. It is also air-conditioned so if you need a break from the heat it is perfect for you. The highlight of our visit was the guided tour. Our guide was excellent - with a great grasp of the history and Truman stories and a knack for making sure everyone could hear. I would definitely recommend this if you love history or just want to see a bit of old Key West.

This well done small museum was well presented by our guide, leaving us wishing it was a little longer than the 30 minutes of the tour. Yet, despite that shortcoming, we left a good idea of how the President spent his days at the Little White House and something of the man. Spotlessly clean grounds.

Truman's Little White House was a nice place to take in and dive out of the Key West heat. Tour guides were very knowledgeable.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed learning about the history of the house. I would recommend the tour.

An interesting part of our history, with an entertaining and informative tour guide. The tour provides wonderful insight into President Truman's character and personality.

This wasn’t a must do for me but actually really enjoyed the visit. We had a very good male tour guide (whose name I’ve forgotten), I learnt quite a bit about Truman that I didn’t know. Well worth a visit.

Well worth taking the tour...our guide was full of great stories and we enjoyed it very much. Loved that there is still furniture (like the poker table) that was there when President Truman visited.

7/3/2024 This was a disaster. We walked up to the counter to pay. The gentlemen that was at the counter is one of the people that gives the tours. He asked if we wanted to take the narrated 60 min. tour. We were not sure and told him we wanted to explore first. He said the tour starts in 30 mins. but if he didn't have more than the two of us we would have to wait an additional 30 mins. to see if more would join us. That did not sound appealing. We walked over and looked at the presidential limousine, then went in the gift shop and a little walk through time line of Harry Truman. That was all we could see. We walked around the building to look for additional entrances, there were none. It took us all of about 15 minutes. We went back to the counter where we paid $45.00 for the two of us. I asked the guy at the counter if we could see the remainder of the house, he said only with the tour.......I said so all we could see was a gift shop, a car and a 10X12 room with a time line for Truman, he said yes. I was livid, I handed him a card he gave us for a tour. We were not going to sit around for 30 mins. to only see if enough people showed for the tour. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE TRUMAN HOUSE. I have visited several presidential museums/libraries, this was a a joke. Don't waste your money or time, we did visit the Hemingway House, well worth the money, excellent tour, $32 for the two of us, a reasonable 30 min. tour.

Greg M was a gracious and knowledgeable tour guide. Learned more about Harry Truman than I thought would before I walked in.

A little pricey for what little you see, but the guide did a good job…for the most part. That said, on two different occasions, he made passive negative statements about our new President-elect, Donald J. Trump. We get it that you’re a retired, left wing social studies teacher, but you could have earned a TIP had you kept your political leanings to yourself. Trump won the election by a landslide, and guess what…he’s about to be your president too. Get over it.

Glad to have visited...home has many original possessions. Just like the Truman's were just there. Retired teacher and guide Chet tells stories with great gusto.

We woke up to a wet morning in Key West and thought this would be the perfect rainy day activity. We've been to Key West a couple of times, and this museum wasn't on our radar, but we ended up really enjoying it. Truman was a fascinating president; learn about everything from his poker playing and his taking two shots of bourbon a day to his ordering the dropping of the atomic bomb. Learn how presidents and their wives were required to have separate bedrooms back in the day. See the newspaper that got the election results wrong and some great old photographs. Our guide, Bob, was fun and enthusiastic. The two story house isn't really very large or opulent, but it has some great mid-century decor. It's hard to believe a president was able to operate in such a simple space. Highly recommend even if you aren't a big history buff; we were surprised how much we enjoyed it.

Very interesting and engaging tour with tour guide Greg M! A lot of history has taken place here and Greg was very knowledgeable with detailed stories. We enjoyed learning the history of the location and of Truman’s love for Key West. There is a nice air conditioned gift shop that also has 2 rooms with other historical info about Truman attached to it.
Not for people who can’t stand for period of time or for young children.

Greg M did a great job on the tour. It was a fun and informative experience. The tour isn’t very long but it is something I would recommend doing if you’re in town.

Wonderful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable tour guide who made our experience very fun! You should definitely do this tour!

What a wonderful historic museum! So much history! Chet was our guide and he was wonderful and a wealthy of knowledge too. He spoke loud enough that we could hear as we walked around the close by rooms. He has a very subtle sense of humor thats great!

Greg M did a great job explaining the museum to us with all its history and stories. My family really enjoyed it!!! Thank you for being open on Christmas Eve!!! Well worth it!!

Great experience touring Truman’s Little White House. Greg, our tour guide did a fantastic job sharing the history and stories about the property, President Truman, and his family.

The knowledgeable guide brought things to life from the time of Truman and later. My knee is painful and he brought out a folding chair for the presentation and for me to use while the tour went up the steep stairs. I appreciate that flexibility.

Wonderful tour!! Even though we were originally from MO, we did not know much about Truman. Learned LOTS of information in a very inviting and relaxed manner. Our tour guide, Mary, was exceptional!! The tickets were reasonably priced and the gift shop had all kinds of various mementos. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This was my favorite museum simply because our tour guide, Bob, was fantastic. He knew everything there is about President Truman and the property.
We also had our 9 month old and Bob was not thrown off at all and was very welcoming.

Our tour guide made this tour worth it. So informative and you could tell he was excited about what he was talking about. If you like getting a snapshot in history this is a great home to visit.

This was the 4th time I've done the tour in the last 20 years. Boy, was I disappointed. I told our friends how informative and fun it would be but it was just a way for them to collect a quick $25 per person for a lousy 35 minute tour. We were scolded from the tour guide for bringing our drinks (which nobody said was a no-no), the guide was so rehearsed and uninterested - he kept looking around at everything around him while rambling his "script". The tour moves so quickly that you don't have time to look around at the memoriabilia they have out. We got scolded again for not moving fast enough and then when we asked a question while upstairs, he said "I told you I'd tell you that later!" This was SO different from the other times we had visited. Previously it was smaller groups, more time, and definitely more engaging tour guides. I definitely will NOT ever do it again. I never write negative reviews but this time I felt like something needed to be said.

Last week my Dad and I went to the Truman Little White House and LOVED it! It might be one of our top 3 favorite things from our trip to Key West. Chet, our tour guide, was incredible! He was the most passionate and engaging guide and really captured our attention. I remember so many more facts and stories from our visit as a result. The story and history behind the house are fascinating and the grounds are beautifully kept. Top place to visit - don't miss!!

For history buffs... you will get what you pay for, especially if you are lucky enough to have the "Guide" who knows the intrigues and juicy elements of American history...
In short... a must if you go to Key West!

This is a vacation home for Truman and was visited by several presidents. This was not a very long tour - maybe 40 minutes or so - but interesting. The guide (Bob) was engaging and a capable storyteller. This is a good option for a break from the heat or die a rainy day and for those interested in presidential history.

I had no idea how down to earth President Truman managed his Presidency. Our guide brought President Truman to life for us, relating his life and the multiple foreign affairs issues he successfully handled. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Good tour - knowledgeable guide (Greg M). Appreciate the history and restoration of the location. I think it is good to understand that time in history and the role that Truman played in the aftermath of WWII.

A museum tour is only as good as the guide, and wow what a guide we had. Knowledgable, funny, and just full of amazing stories about Harry S. Truman, the house, and history in general, our guide made this visit - which I hadn't really known what to expect - a highlight of our trip. He made it accessible for both history buffs and and non-history buffs who just wandered off the street. If you're in Key West, absolutely stop by the Harry Truman Little White House.

A must see when visiting key west if you are into history. The tour guide was excellent and answered all of our questions and we did not feel rushed.

We enjoyed the tour. Liked seeing the "past" come to life. Being a baby boomer, most of the furniture looked like items we saw as children.
I remember Eisenhour as a president, but not Turman, so the insight to that history was nice. I liked the fact that the public restrooms seemed to have period sinks, toilets and flooring.

We enjoyed the tour, but I felt very rushed. We were at high speed and not able to really appreciate all the areas we visited. I understand it is at the naval base and our guide was very cautious that every person was escorted at all times, but it would be nice to be able to slow down the tour a bit.
I appreciated the information about Harry Truman and that the house contained so much original furniture. Well done on the historical aspects!

Truman Little White House in Key West, Florida is a GEM. Bob, our guide, had a wealth of knowledge about history of house and President Harry Truman. Staff was extremely nice, letting us go in without paying so we wouldn't miss beginning of tour. Trusting us to return and pay which we did. Definitely recommend!

Harry Truman loved this place. Chances are you will too. Our tour guide (Greg M) provided a fascinating historical perspective into Truman's many stays here and some historically-significant meetings that took place here. Really interesting insight into life of who many believe to be the last great Democratic President.

House was interesting, but the history lesson was best. Little known facts about a man I have come to admire

Great tour with entertaining guide fully of interesting info & anecdotes. Sadly we were the last tour of the day which ended at 4.30pm today. As the tour finished the shop & restrooms were already closed despite the signs saying 4.45pm closure - a very disappointed group of about 20 visitors from various nationalities. Definitely worth going but Make sure you get there earlier & don’t believe their times.

Someone recommended this tour and we were fortunate to have Bob as a tour guide as he is unbelievably knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour and learned new things about Truman and that historical time period.

Fascinating history brought to life! Our guide Warren was enthusiastic in sharing his passion for 33 as a consequential President. A good window into a President with integrity, humility, and a sense of humor: Remember: “You want a friend in Washington? Get a dog.” And so many more…

Learned lots of things I never knew on this tour. I would say I thought it was a little pricy for what it was, but it was interesting and I enjoyed myself.

Nice tour, it's very nicely preserved, and the tour guide was easy to follow and easy to understand. Didn't feel rushed, lots to look at, and overall enjoyed the tour.

I was unaware of the Little White House before our visit to Key West. It was a fun and educational tour, and I appreciate the quality and depth of the preservation of the materials, and fun-facts we learned on the tour. A good stop, if you are visiting Key West!

A beautiful building with a beautiful view at the top. Everything was very well maintained and small museum near tower was worth short visit.

A wonderful gem to visit in Key West. The history behind this building is amazing and our tour guide Bob was the absolute best! He even wrote a book about the history of the building and the presidents that stayed there. They did a great job restoring the place to be exactly how it was when Truman was there.
My only negative about this experience was the price - $23 per adult. Kids pricing ($10) is only available if they are 12 or younger. I felt for the time it takes to do the tour and what you can explore on your own (very little) this was a little overpriced. If you are a history buff then maybe you see more value in what you are paying.

A bit disappointing as it played on the name of a famous visitor. Kept in good condition but could do so much more to tell us Truman and those years to have a background of what might have transpired here. Since it was also used by others of note an additional room explaining who and when, again in context, should be a part of the museum. Brief 30 minute tour, nothing on your own. However, on your way out (past the obligatory gift shop) there is a room off to the right that has some very informative exhibits. Most valuable and interesting part of tour - don't miss it. If you can, go to Independence for his presidential library and museum. No comparison.

I loved this tour by Greg M. The building is almost entirely authentic to 1949 during the years when Truman was there for almost 10% of his presidency. Greg M. told us some great tales and some small details - all with humility and humor. Greg and the house really bring Truman and his family to life and they tell a good story about American history. I loved it!!

Very informative tour. I learned so much. The home has a lot of great history. Not a tour for small kids. My big kids loved it.

Was a bit pricey for a tour where you aren’t able to take any photos inside. While we appreciate the history and significance of the property we didn’t see the value in the ticket price.

Our guide (Bob) was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He says he has been doing tours there for over 20 years and I believe it. He seemed to know everything about Truman and the property.

It wasn't worth the visit to the place in my opinion. I wouldn't spend the money. We got to see the house only.

Our guide Warren was the best!! You can certainly tell that he admires President Harry Truman, but he also related some interesting information on Presidents John Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, & Bill Clinton, & Secretary of State Colin Powell. We also learned a bit about the U. S. Naval Base on Key West, and even a little bit about President Truman's family life. Very interesting! And the house itself is a treasure! The furnishings date to Truman's time, & it's very easy to understand why Truman spent so much time here. Thank you, Warren, for your wonderful narrative & for being so very good at what you do. It's worth the extra few minutes to grab a garden map & walk around the property. Note: The house is inside a private, gated community & vehicular traffic is very limited. Our GPS lead us to more than one street that was gated with only bicycle & pedestrian entrances. Your best bet is to walk or bike, not drive.

First time touring the Winter White House in 20 years visiting Key West. Greg (Greg M, I think!) was an outstanding tour guide - he brought the house and all that took place there to life through memorable and fun stories. Great gift shop and lovely part of the island - well worth the visit!

Joey, was an excellent tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable, very personable. We learned so much history I didn’t know. Great experience.

This tour exceeded our expectations. The tour guide make the House come
To life. Chet was an excellent guide. The stories make
The experience interesting and fun.

We took the tour of the Truman White House museum
Chet was our guide and he did a wonderful job!
We learned so much and walking to the museum is a good little walk to enjoy the scenery

Chet was our tour guide at the Truman Little White House. Wow… this man is so knowledgeable and passionate about history. The entire tour was so interesting. Prior to this visitation, I was unaware of all of politics happening in Key West in the past. I just loved all of the little stories that Chet told us about President Truman. This is a must do event in Key West.

Great American history. Tour guide was well-versed in local stories and why Truman came to the Keys. Tour was 30 minutes approximately—the right amount of time. Nearly all items in the house are original to Truman occupancy. Artfully careful on not being too political.

We have always wanted to do this tour and so glad we finally did! Our tour guide Larry was very informative and brought the life of Truman’s time in Key West alive. It was fascinating to learn of what a humble and proud man he was from his midwestern roots in Missouri and how he carried that over with decisions governing our nation to be in the ranking of 6th greatest Presidents in the US. The timeline historical info was well appreciated and it is a tour very worth the time to take!

The admission only allows one to walk through the house with a guide one time. The house itself is located on a private street so there is no nearby parking.

We love this location. The docents make the tours so interesting!! Parking is street side a ways away so be prepared. The first floor is handicapped accessible but they have a book of photographs of the upstairs you can look at. There is a nice little gift shop. Tickets are cheaper if you purchase on line before you go.

My wife and I loved visiting HST’s Little Whitehouse. Great history, great President, wonderful house loaded with great history. It was a little bit like time travel. We loved our guide and his passion for Harry.

Great tour guide Greg M. Really gave us a lot of interesting information.
We’ve been there a few times, always enjoy it.

We really enjoyed the tour. We heard lots of interesting tidbits about Truman as well as other famous visitors to the house. There are a lot of original items in the house, so it really feels like you've stepped back in time. Wish the tour was a little bit longer, as I'm sure our guide had much more she could have shared. There is a nice souvenir shop that you can visit before or after the tour, and we really appreciated that they had cold drinks, as the day was hot and very humid. We had a good time and we recommend.

Not many people will have had the opportunity to see both White Houses (Washington DC and Key West)!

While there is a great tour of the home, you can also walk the grounds, see the presidential limo and just enjoy the area. Recommended and plan ahead to get a spot on the tour.

Greg was a great guide. Who knew so many historical meetings took place in this little house. A definite to-do in Key West.

Well worth the time. Very knowledgeable tour guide and an interesting history lesson. I wouldn’t miss it while in Key West.

Interesting to see how President Truman lived when he was in Key West.
Good walking tour, although some of the guides are a little bit strange…

We were fortunate to meet Dewey, our knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. A step into the Little White House, felt like a walk back in time. We learned about President Truman's time in KW, and other interesting stories. It was exciting to learn that the secret service only requires one hour to prepare the property for a visit from the current President, if the need arose. Dewey (a little irony in his name) described President Truman in such a way that made this American President seem so relatable. And I completely agree with our guide Dewey, why doesn't the government utilize this amazing location more often, to come together for Diplomacy, and maybe a bourbon? ;) I would highly recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful tour of this beautiful house. Our guide, Chet was so knowledgeable and entertaining. I highly recommend this tour

The Harry Truman Little White House Museum gave a Fantastic tour. My guide was Bob. What a wealth of information that guy is. I learned so much about Harry Truman's Presidency. He was a great President. The house was amazing. All the pictures of the first family in that house really helped me see what life was like there in the late 40s. The poker table was inspiring. Presidential chips and cards. I felt like sitting down and playing. I just loved the tour. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We only had time to visit the grounds and the short walk thru by the gift shop. Although short, it was very entertaining and educational.

Truman’s Little White House Tour
Larry was our guide. Home was impressive to a point. It was $49 US for the tour. It was a great tour but only truly interesting to US History buffs. We would not recommend unless you had an interest in this topic. I’m glad people put the effort into maintaining the property and telling the history. Just not my cup of tea.

Really insightful, Bob who was our guide knew everything about President Truman, the house and also Key West. Provided a great and funny commentary while touring the house.

I was extremely disappointed in the ticket salesman. I asked for a Veterans discount and he immediately thanked my husband- the NON--veteran for his service. When I told him women were veterans too, he continued to talk to my husband. He finally gave a very insincere apology to me that lacked all creditbility. I felt he was very disrespectful to women vets and would not recommend it the tour because of that. Guide was ok but got way into politics. More so then I felt was necessary on the tour. I would not go back

Tour covered seven presidents and some navy background. Lots of history here and very informative on Truman.

I loved this. Our guide knew so much about Truman and the house. His stories were so interesting. Some i had heard before but others i had not.

We recommend this tour if you are in Key West
The house is beautiful just like the park
Do not hesitate to ask for a notepad in French to support understanding

Loved the tour. We were lucky enough to get Bob as our docent. Found out after that he’s the director of the entire operation, so he was extremely knowledgeable. The stories he told were funny, insightful, and informative. They brought President Truman to life and gave me a new respect for his presidency. So glad we went. Just a tip for mobility impaired people: it is a long walk from any parking spots to the house and there are no places to sit inside. They did not have a wheelchair to loan either. I was glad I’d brought my expandable stool.

We loved it here and so glad we took this tour excellent tour guide Bob amazing place, full of so much history and beauty, everyone who comes to Key West needs to visit this place, so well worth it. I was amazed as to how much we loved this.

Visiting the Truman "Little White House" was the best thing we did in Key West. Amazing history delivered by a knowledgeable and animated tour guide. We happen to arrive just after a guided tour had started (4 minutes) but no problem - the admissions desk said, "we'll settle up when you get back" and a guide whisked us into the house and through a short cut to immediately catch-up with the group that had only just started. serious kudos to all of the staff there for not making us stand outside in the heat for the start of the next tour! The tour guide had all kinds of great stories not only about President Truman, but other historic meetings and events that this site has hosted in American history, post-WWII.. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Whiskey Rick was a fantastic tour guide, he gave a very informative tour. I was disappointed with the gift shop. The amount of collectibles, knick-knacks, etc. favored only one political party instead of representing the past presidents of both political parties. My husband and I would have loved to purchase an item there to remember our visit. Unfortunately, it was all so biased, we chose not to.

We were very happy that we decided to do this tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting facts about Harry Truman, his wife Bess, and their daughter Margaret. We did not know that Harry Truman loved to play poker! The home is well preserved and definitely well worth taking a trip back into another era!

We books this tour as part of a combination ticket. We arrived and sat for a video before our tour. Really appreciated the work being done to preserve a point in time. The Little White House has some real story to be told during Truman's term. The docent was informed about the house and history. They are currently in renovation of some the areas but did not take away from the tour.

The only way to access the Little White House is by guided tour. It is fairly brief, with a little but not much history and storytelling; more just a chance to look around and ask questions. A fair amount of important U.S. policy was settled here so it's nice to be given that context.

Amazing tour given by Chet. I learned so much about our fantastic Harry Truman, a true man of the people . Leave time to walk the grounds.

Wonderful little museum to add to your visit to Key West. Greg M was a great tour guide - knowledgeable and fun, He gave us a nice mix of guided walk-throughs, as well as time to explore rooms on our own. There is a nice parking garage very close by. The museum also has a lovely gift shop - and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I agree with others that it was a bit pricey, but we are history lovers, so it was worth it to us. I recommend planning to go in the afternoon - it's a nice break from the heat or the island afternoon showers, and you will learn some history too!

Fascinating history lesson of President Truman’s White House away from the white house. Take time to tour the home and grounds and even see his presidential limo! Take a step back in time with the furnishings, ashtrays(!), and pictures. No photos allowed inside the house.

This was a wonderful tour and our guide Chet was phenomenal! He really made the tour go from good to great. It was fun to see all the pictures and furniture of a by-gone era and learn more about President Truman.

We visited the Little White House in Key West and were thrilled to read about the story of how presidents and other dignitaries arrived at this special place to have meetings about presidential topics and real-life problems that existed all over the world. Nice piece of history that should not be missed.

Bob was the BEST tour guide. He was so knowledgeable on Truman, the property, and the history of visits and events on the property.

Well worth your time! Tour Guide was excellent! Be prepared to park a few blocks away and walk. Great for History lovers!

We enjoyed our tour, and our guide, Greg, was excellent. I’m not sure this is a must-do, but then again, there’s not a whole lot of must-dos in Key West. This attraction is probably among the top 2 or 3 things to do in Key West. The price is a bit high for what is included in the tour.

This was the historical highlight of our trip to Key West. You can really step back into the 40's to feel and to see the ambiance of those years just by looking at the furniture, decor, and layout of the house. We did the guided tour and was glad to get details of a typical day in the life of Truman when he stayed there. Our tour guide provided an insight we would have missed on our own. We recommend that you let your "buck stop" there to purchase a guided tour. The day we went the presidential touring car was on display which was spectacular for the car enthusiast in our group.

My husband and I both enjoy history and we were not aware of the Truman little White House down here in Key West. We went to buy tickets and found out there was actually a tour (we had thought we would just be browsing thru a museum). Our guide was fantastic and brought history to life as he took us thru the house and discussed the important people and events that had taken place there. The grounds and homes around this house are also beautiful

We took the first tour of the day (0930) on a Friday. Our guide provided quite a bit of information about the history of the building and the events that took place inside, both during Truman's time and beyond. He was informative and humorous but did not over do it. The rooms in the home are maintained as they were during Truman's time.
This was an enjoyable and informative tour that we would recommend.

Bob, the tour director was great. He has so much knowledge of the history of this house and Pres. Truman that you can picture the past during the tour. It was very interesting.

We went to Key West for 1 week and this is the ONLY thing my husband insisted on seeing. Really interesting. Super informative guides. The only bad thing - no photos inside the house. GRRRR. But you can get great photos outside, and of Truman's car.

Mary our tour guide was a treat. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
What a neat piece of history.

Awesome historical tour and so great to see what the place looked like when Truman was there. Would highly recommend if you want to learn more about the history of Key West and our presidents.

There is so much American history in this house. Our tour guy was Dewey and he was enthusiastic and entertaining. A must see if you like American history.

A group of 11 visited on our last day in Key West. It was a last minute decision and so worth it. All 11 of us are from Michigan and we enjoyed having a tour guide from Flint, Michigan. He was very informative. Make sure you add in enough time to explore the "museum" in the gift shop. Also, package it with tickets to the Shipwreck museum and/or Aquarium and you get a discount. We added this place on while at the Shipwreck museum in Mallory Square.

This was a very interesting tour - a lot of history in this modest house. We loved the fact that things have pretty much been kept as they were when Truman was here, including the classic Florida prints on the furniture. The grounds are also beautiful.

We enjoyed our tour of Truman's Little White House. Our tour guide was interesting and shared fun facts about the days during Truman's time in presidency. A definite must see for those who love history.

This is a wonderful museum and should not be missed if you are in Key West. The guide we had was excellent. It’s a step back in time and has been nicely restored. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Family of 5, kids 15,11, and 9. We really enjoyed our visit in July. We didn’t quite know what to expect but pre purchased tickets online to save a few dollars. The tour guide, Bob, did a great job keeping the tour Interesting without letting it drag and losing the kids interest. The facility also has very nice restrooms, great gift shop, and good air conditioning. The home is very small, there are stairs, and some smaller spaces. They also have his presidential limo parked out front during day time hours. If you are interested in US history, or mid century decor, this needs to be a part of your key west itinerary. I would plan to allocate about an hour and a half total at this location, the tour taking only a portion of that.

There are 35 minute tours through the day that cost about $25. I didn’t realize this and luckily showed up minutes before one was starting. Our guide, Karl, was excellent. The place is pretty small and there are stairs you need to be able to navigate. It still looks like it was when Truman left it and you get a bit of history about the place. I really enjoyed myself.

What a great 30 minute tour. I felt like I learned so much. We were about 20 minutes early so we stopped by the gift shop and checked out the presidential car. Then we had a seat outside and our tour started. The stories were wonderful. Stop by!

I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting the tour was. There was a significant amount of history to take place here The setting is well maintained to the time period. Afterwards, stroll the the "Truman Compound" neighborhood. Hands down the most beautiful neighborhood in Key West. It became my favorite place for morning walks.

This is really kept nicely with period furnishings. I recommend the tour. Again the docents are amazing and bring the history to life. Many presidents used the facilities.

Great piece of history that I know very little about, so glad we stop for a tour. The wait was less than 10 minutes and the tour guide (how claims to have written a book on the history of this building) was incredible! So very informative and a really fun personality that added to the great time.

We loved this tour. Harry S. Truman used this house for 175 days in the winter. It is located right off the cruise port and is very walkable to get to. It is the only Presidential museum in Florida. It was $22.95 for an adult ticket. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the stories he told were so interesting. The round table on the first floor that doubled as a poker table and dining table was a hoot. Boy the people who have sat at that table... The restoration and attention to detail was wonderful. You can't take pictures in the house but there is a gift shop and in the back there are exhibits and photos you can take pictures of. Would highly recommend if you are in Key West.

Our guide Steve was very knowledgeable about the history of the home, the NAVY involvement and how Truman came to reside there during his presidency. Also had great knowledge about Truman’s presidency. Truly interesting tour and completely worth it.

The guides were great. We learned a lot that we didn’t know about Truman and want to continue reading to learn more.
Would recommend it completely.

Our favorite tourist attraction in Key West. We learned a lot about President Truman. The tour guide, Greg, was excellent. Very well maintained property.

The Llittle White House tour was a wonderful trip back into history. Who knew so many important people and historical events happened at this location? Our tour guide, Bob, was incredibily knowledgeable and quite entertaining as well. I learned so many things about Harry Truman that I didn't know. Turns out he is just a good ole boy from Missouri that loved Key West weather, a shot of boubon, and a good poker game. I was amazed to learn he is rated #5 or #6 of all the presidents is regards to accomplishments! Take the tour, you will be glad you did!

Interesting tour of the home with many anecdotes about Truman as well as other Presidents who stayed in the home.

Well worth your time!! Our tour guide, Larry, was amazing!!! The tour is only 40 minutes, but packed with historical information and highlights. Quite a bit of authentic furniture and Truman memorabilia. Beautiful property! There are public Restrooms on the premises. Parking is difficult, and you will have to walk at least several blocks. May be better to take a cab or other transportation.

Great tour by Bob. Bob knows his history after 23 years of leading tour, The house was interesting but Bob’s stories made the day

What a great tour! Bob was an amazing guide. Knows everything about the Little White House there is to know, both the Harry Truman era as well as Kennedy’s connection. Would recommend this to anyone interested in history.

House has great a/c! Wish there were more of the house on the tour. Would like to see the kitchen. Bob was great and the lovely lady taking admission too.

I absolutely recommend a visit to the Little White House, especially for self-identified history buffs. The guides and exhibits both earn high marks. I leaner more in the 35-minute tour about Truman's involvement the second world war then I have in a lifetime.

It is my annual visit to Harry Truman’s Whitehouse. I love history and I love going on this tour. The furnishings always remind me of my Grandmother’s home. I love the history of the tour, and seeing all of the items and various rooms in the house. It is such a great piece of our history and a must see for anyone.

The tour was a tad pricey in my opinion. Knew a little bit about the location but obviously the displays and actual tour filled in the gaps. I did think that a great amount of what was shared on the tour was lifted word for word from the accompanying write-ups attached to the many pictures in the display area that you can tour. The video was good and again lots of the verbiage from the video was repeated on the tour. It was interesting to find out that President Truman would occasionally drive a personal vehicle through the streets of Key West.
The property is well maintained. It is actually a very simple abode. I may sound slightly negative about tour / experience. We did enjoy it. Is it a knock your socks off experience? No, it is not. It was interesting to learn more about a person who was president of our country during some very dangerous times.
I would definitely recommend giving this tour a try.

We took the guided tour of the Harry S Truman Little White House. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the place come alive, leading us to picture in our minds the events that took place there. I know just enough history to have found it fascinating, and this was my favorite part of our trip to Key West.

Very good tour guide! He was energetic and told stories of President Truman in an entertaining way. The house is how it looked when the President was there. There are pictures of other Presidents visiting. The story of the top made for the card table intrigued me. Truman liked to play cards.

Interesting little tour. Learned something and saw some nice memorabilia and heard some fun stories. Great way to spend an hour or so.

Our guide was very informative, funny, and answered any questions. Beautiful grounds outside as well! Bathrooms were clean and we would definitely recommend as a must do if in the area! Not many pics at they were not always allowed and definitely no video of the tour!

Tour guided by the man who wrote the book (literally) on this house of history. Loved the tour, even though it was not very long. Truman was smart to continue coming there as much as he did.

While our time in Key West was cut short by the Everglades fires, we still had an afternoon to visit sites in the city. There are so many things to see but this is one I had wanted to see due to its Presidental history that I did not get to on my last visit to Key West.
Our group of 10 visited just after lunch and were able to get spaces on the next tour in 10 minutes. While we waited, we used the restroom, viewed the beautiful grounds, visited the gift shop and toured the outside exhibits. When the time came, we all entered and were thoroughly entertained by the very informative guide. Let me say I was impressed that so many people were on the tour, but even at 55 I think our group was the youngest. I think we are that last people to actually remember who Truman was even though he was gone a generation before.
With that said the tour was really great and part of it was how informative the guide was. I will also say all of us loved seeing the interior at that period because we all had grandparents who had a lot of the same furnishings and decor. It goes by fast but is really interesting. I will say I love Presidential history, but everyone in our group said they really enjoyed. I did not expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised how good our visit was. I am so glad we made the visit.

Our tour guide, Dewey, was terrific, with stories and antidotes added to the history. You could picture yourself there while Truman was president with the everyday going ons.

A must when in Key West! I learned so much about Harry Truman that I never learn in school & our guide was entertaining. If you like history, go check the Little House out!

My husband and I had a few hours in key west to pick one museum/tour and we picked this tour after reading the reviews and don’t regret it at all! I’m not much of a history buff myself, but I throughly enjoyed it. Each staff member was incredibly friendly and Greg M. led our tour — he was fantastic, he was knowledgeable and kept the tour very interesting. I’m so glad we were able to make a stop here and throughly recommend it!

You get to tour the Truman Little White House. It is a historic place. You see things 'as they were' during Truman's life. The docent did a great job and kept things entertaining during the tour. Interesting and historic to Key West and US history. I'd budget ~60 minutes for the tour/waiting included.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Truman Little White House and had the pleasure of touring with Greg as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, bringing the fascinating history of President Truman’s time in Key West to life with great detail and enthusiasm. The tour was well-paced, informative, and filled with interesting stories that made the experience memorable. The only disappointment was that the historic car was not out during our visit, but overall, the tour was outstanding and well worth it.

If you like history, it’s a good place to go. I recently read several books based around the time Truman was president. The tour included some details I was not aware about him. It was one of the highlights of Key West.

Take the tour. Knowledgeable tour guides will fill you in on the house and the president. You will probably find that the history lesson is more interesting than the house itself. I'm no history buff and had no idea just how much was on Truman's plate. Fascinating guy and president. Won't take much more than an hour and a side benefit is that the house is air conditioned.

While you cannot get access to Camp David, here you can delve into another private and somewhat secretive presidential refuge. The guided tour is informative and you will be tightly controlled. Young hyperactive children will be miserable and bored. People with no interest whatsoever in history will be similarly miserable.

A great opportunity to learn more about Pres. Truman and see where he spent time as President. The house and grounds are well preserved and maintained. We had an excellent tour guide in Carl. Worth a visit and tour when you’re in KW.

As a fan of history and of President Harry S Truman to me this felt like I stepped into his world if only for a moment. Walking through some of the same halls as a President felt somewhat Surreal.
It was a little pricy even for a fan of Truman's. It was around 25 dollars or so for about a 20-30 minute tour. The Tour Guide was awesome and his knowledge around the History of the Little White House and Truman was very impressive and I truly appreciated his style for delivering information. Greg M was our tour guide.
Overall if you're visiting Key West and want something to do on an uncommon rainy day or if you want to learn more about the island and it's history the Truman Little White House is a great start.

This was a great tour and our guide was fabulous. I didn’t know much about Truman and it’s pretty amazing what he was able to accomplish as president. The guide put a human spin on the president, telling stories about him and a man and husband, rather than just a president. The home is beautiful. Definitely something to see in Key West.

If you enjoy US history, the Truman Little White House is a definite stop for you. Lasting just about an hour, the tour is quite informative on the huge impact made by President Truman from 1945-1952. I walked away with a greater appreciation of the “Man from Independence,” having learned a few new things about him and his presidency.

I really enjoyed our tour and I learned a lot. The house is where several presidents (all Democrats!) spent some time in Florida. The history is very interesting. The tour guides go into detail, but not too minute to be boring.

I learned about so much more than President Truman, The history of the site is fascinating and the tour was fantastic. I enjoyed my time here very much. I even have my picture with Harry S. Truman!

The history, the Setting, everything. The tour guide Dewey was the best tour guide ever!! Awesome. Can not say enough about how much cool stuff we learned about!!

Really enjoyed the tour of the home, our guide did a wonderful job of bringing the stories of the home to life. A little pricey for the short tour but we enjoyed it.

Enjoyed touring the “Key West” White House. Who knew the haberdasher Harry was the crazy shirt president. Nice to see how a president relaxed.

Ok for a short visit and it is well maintained but not a great or impressive museum.
I do not think he was all that interesting

We enjoyed our tour of the property and building. It was nice to get a glimpse into the past. The interior is pretty much the way it was when it was being used by President Truman. Or tour guide, Bob has been there quite a long time and was very knowledgeable.

Whether you are into history or not, Truman's Little White House is an amazing place to check out if you are in Key West. Our Guide Chet was incredible and a fascinating guy. He goes above and beyond and makes the experience so much better. Touring the property, there is no doubt to why Truman and others found this place so inviting.

Very informative tour just about right in length. Greg was our guide. Very knowledgeable and enjoyable. Lots of stories. Fascinating look into a slice of our history. Would recommend if you have the time in Key West.

We enjoyed learning about the Little White House. Our guide Greg M clearly loves what does and is an excellent historian. The 1950 Lincoln sets beside the museum and we were told it is driven daily. The following day we saw it on Duval Street.

Excellent tour with Joey! Knowledgeable and funny and gave well rounded tour of the house and President Truman as a person and a leader
Also very conscientious of my husband who uses a cane and have a binder of photos and information for the upstairs

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself for the price was short. Not sure what else could be included but maybe price could have been a little less.

Our guide, Greg M, was fantastic. He not only knew an amazing amount of history concerning both Truman and the Little White House, but he was clearly excited to be able to share it with us. His admiration and respect for Truman and others came through clearly in how he spoke about them. The house itself was so welcoming and impressive in what it wasn’t - it was unpretentious and felt like a place you would want to live in. I enjoyed standing in rooms and hearing about major meetings that had taken place there and extremely important agreements and decisions that were made in those rooms. For anyone visiting Key West I would put this on the list of “must do’s”.

Dewey is an amazing guide. He is so knowledgeable and has the right presentation that keeps you listening.

Our guide Chet was great. Very informative and pleasant to be with. He taught us a lot. Chet did not rush you through the tour.

Very interesting about a President I knew nothing about. A guided tour is included in the price of admission. Our guide was fantastic (sorry, forgot his name). The tour takes about 1 hour and a half. Great gift shop too.

Great piece of American history (with AC!) Truman accomplished so much during his presidency and yet he was under appreciated in his time. Highly recommend this tour. Good for all ages.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable.
who knew?
We thought were closed, but they ended up accommodating us and a few other latecomers with a full guided tour. It was interesting to learn how our leaders at that time relaxed! Friendly informative tour guides!
