Virus crisis

By lee9 |

Looks like it would be a fun stop, the location is ideal but due to the virus crisis the place is once again closed... Such a shame!

Adorable!! Fun laid back day.

By Kimberly H |

A married couple of 12 years and young at heart. Adorable little mountain theme park. You need to ride the train a couple times throughout the day. (The cast of characters and story changes each time.) Also, try to ride in the 2nd or 3rd car... you see more of what is going on from those cars.
The rides are great for families. Don't be afraid to be a kid though. It is fun if you just let yourself go.
Favorite part was the petting zoo! (Of course as a future vet tech animals of all kinds make me happy.)

Fun, Fond Old Memories, New Memories, and more!

By MWB2011 |

I have not been to Tweetsie in about 40 years. I wanted my daughter to experience the enchantment of an old steam locomotive and Western themed park. I also wanted my son to enjoy the rides and sights. Not a lot has changed in 40 years which was great in my opinion. I loved the shows, the kids and my wife enjoyed the rides... we had a really great time. I recommend going after 3:00 PM the first day (they close at 6:00) and they stamp your receipt so that you can go the second day (9:00-6:00) at no entrance fee. The food is not bad for an amusement park and the prices are not outrageous. It's a fairly tame park but they do have rides for the thrill seekers too. This is a wonderful place to remember your own previous visits and to make new memories with those that you love and care for. Entrance fees are also very reasonable. We had a wonderful time! It was especially entertaining for my 5 year old daughter. Everything was new and exciting to her.

WoW!

By Calvin G |

Tweetsie Railroad, between Blowing Rock and Boone, NC is so much fun! Children and grandkids had a ball, as well as parents and grandparents.
The train ride is so much fun, although the "Native American" robbers/bandits are sure to be fed up with the white imitations! The white characters /charlatans look ridiculous.

Christmas Season 2017

By Brittany P |

This was a great holiday train ride (I have been on others). The decorating was probably the best part along with the activities like the snowglobe. The train ride itself was a bit chilly and I would recommend them getting some closed coach cars but I do realize it was below average temps and that this is their first season doing a Christmas train. All the workers were friendly and helpful. Also I want to say that most of the merchandise is fairly priced. My father forgot a coat and bought one inside the gift shop at a very reasonable price. it was a magical experience and I highly recommend it.

GREAT!

By Kelley S |

This place is seriously top notch. I have an 8 year old daughter. I was hesitant to take her. I thought it may be too "little" for her. She absolutely loved it. Actually the whole entire family loved it! It was very well cleaned and organized. I really liked the safety of the workers on all the rides. We spent 5 hours here and it felt like no time! It was so beautiful with all the Christmas lights. We had a blast. We will definitely be coming back!

Tweetsie Christmas

By vacation920 |

What a fantastic idea starting the Tweetsie Christmas. The train ride was so fun riding up the mountain in the dark seeing all the beautiful lights. It was only about 20 mins but perfect for the little ones. The carousel was fun and seeing Santa & Mrs Claus was a treat although we waited 45 mins. We were able to purchase some yummy hot chocolate and takes pictures with the gingerbread men. We didn’t have time to roast s’mores as we had dinner reservations afterwards. We took the first train at 5:30 but all the attractions get super busy so when we return next year and our kids already asked to, we will probably book a later train and do all the other activities first before the lines get too long. Awesome idea, great time!

Fun family-friendly activity!

By KristynP |

Adventure park perfect for younger kids! We enjoyed the 3 mile loop on the train - the show was entertaining and the young actors did a great job! Our niece loved going on rides (the kind you’d find at a county fair) and the bumper cars. A great family-friendly activity- we spent about 2.5 hours.

Great Western Park!!! Clean family Fun

By Jason T |

The park was western themed with themed western gear and wear in the stores and a fun family train ride. Also liked the chair lift ride to the top and fed the animals in the zoo. Park was very clean.

A godsend for our family!

By Paula B |

Tweetsie Railroad will always be a treasured memory for our family!! When our son-in-law was deployed, our granddaughters were devastated by his absence. A trip to Blowing Rock and Tweetsie saved the day! At ten and six, the girls were the perfect age. The park was clean, easy to navigate, and very accommodating for our special needs child. Good, clean fun! Perfect rides! No lines. Thank you again.

Expensive but fun for a few hours

By Jamie T |

Fun family atmosphere. Very friendly and professional staff. Not crowded. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough staff to cover all rides and one worked had to bounce between 3 rides, so wait times were long for so few people. Enough to keep teens and small kids occupied for a few hours. Petting zoo was awesome. A bit expensive for the value compared to other theme parks.

Wonderful Trip

By T1829QYjaneh |

Wonderful trip with grandchildren who had never been to Tweetsie.
All employees were super friendly and helpful.
Rides were not rushed and the grounds were kept clean, landscaping was colorful and well maintained.
Shows were fun and a good variety of food was offered.
Also a must with children- restrooms were convenient and very clean.

The kids loved it, so I am happy

By bbk3e |

My kids are 7 and 9 and they loved every last bit of our time there. It is great that my youngest could ride almost all the rides since other amusement parks have taller minimum heights.
It is a bit pricey (for us), but once I got past that, I enjoyed watching the kids have fun. I would go again.

Wonderful time at Tweetsie

By SmJ012 |

What a perfect park! Tweetsie is so unique and iconic and is nestled in such a beautiful area of North Carolina. It is perfect for children age 1-5 but adults can enjoy it as well. We loved seeing Riders in the Sky there recently. Park is a perfect size too. So nice to go as a kid and go back as an adult. Toddler loved it as did we. So happy that it is still around.

Not so great food

By Karina A |

Ghost train was fun but would not spend my money on anything food related. My friends and family (7 of us) visited last weekend. We bought pizza and it made all of us sick! We also bought funnel cakes which were pre- made and were hard and cold.

Fun day with toddlers

By Linda I. |

Excellent venue for all ages, but particularly young children. Plenty of rides for different age groups. Shows were great, especially the cloggers. Saw their show twice! They included children on stage, which was wonderful.

Blast from the past

By MIke S |

Had a great time reliving a blast from the past. Went here in the early 70's when I was a kid and my wife and I stopped by on a weekend stop over in Blowing Rock. If you have young kids they will enjoy it. In the age of big commercialized theme parks this was a nice throw back to our younger days.

So much fun!

By U9923CIjanetb |

Our grandsons are obsessed with Thomas the Train so we took advantage of a long weekend at Tweetsie Railroad in June for the annual Day our with Thomas. The amusement park is just the right size for families with small children. You can easily see everything in 5 or 6 hours with time for breaks in between. It may seem a little pricey but everyone had fun so it was well worth it. Parking is included in the admission price. We are looking forward to our next trip. Friendly helpful staff and clean facilities.

Incredible

By NENC-DF |

Yes I said incredible this was a great amusement park and Railroad to stop back.
Everybody in our family had a great time I especially love the ride on the steam engine train.
The train made a couple stops as it goes around the little mountain at the stops for a show with cowboys and Indians it was great what a beautiful entertainment set up they have there.
They do have a petting zoo and plenty amusement rides and different activities all with an out west theme.
Very reasonably price and we hope to go back again some other time.

Fun local attraction - ride the rails and enjoy the amusement park

By ALsmom2013 |

In the days of Disney places like Tweetsie may be unnecessarily overlooked. Tweetsie deserves a shot -- the events are not high tech and the rides run at a little slower pace, but it's a fun way to spend the day. There is a small gem mining area, a petting area with animals and several rides including a gondola that works for most family members. The train ride has a cowboy and Native American skit that takes place on the train - the skit has probably not been updated for many years, but the players are friendly and kids enjoy the show.

Fab day out for ALL the family

By victoria g |

My family of 5 came to tweetsie railroad for my sons 8th birthday.
I was abit apprehensive as the older children were 12 but they had a really good fun day.
There's something for everyone, even myself and my husband had a brilliant time.
The fun fair caters for all, and the petrol carts were a huge hit for all the kids (husband included) as well other rides like the ferris wheel which we thought was a mellow ride!
The little goats in the zoo were again a huge hit and very VERY friendly.. watch your hair with the big daddy goat ;p
There were different places to eat, pizza, burgers etc. we had the cheese burger, and that was very good, not stodgy like some places and the shows get a thumbs up and helps break up the day.
We left the stream train ride and show to the end and glad we did as it really ended the day on a happy high.. the cowboy show was very good and enjoyed by all.
The best of it is, is that the entrance fee includes everything.. a really good family day out with no hidden costs (food not include)

Christmas train ride

By lmn |

Went to visit Tweetsie Railroad for their Christmas train event. We had tickets for the first night. Had 7 adults (1 in a wheel chair) and 2 children. It was a fun night for the kids, but considering the cost - there just wasn't that much to do. We were hoping to be able to eat dinner while in Tweetsie, but they only had one restaurant open and it was crowded and they leave the doors open. Would like to go back up when they are open for the summer - I know they kids will enjoy a whole lot more. I will say, they had it decorated very nice and the employees were most helpful. Had a snafu with our designated train ride and they were nice enough to get us on another ride later in the evening. We were not let on the train first, with our motorized wheel chair and when they did let us on, there was no room for our party - we had to split up. Not very fun, when you have your grandchildren with you and you want to enjoy with them. We were very thankful for the second ride so our whole group could ride together..... It was something fun for the family to do and the kids really had a great time......

WONDERFUL MAGICAL DAY

By Frank P |

Great for Children of all ages and that includes Adults. If you want to see smiles all day long bring the entire family, children, and grandchildren. Amusement rides, games, restaurants, shows and the Amazing steam driven Historic locomotive # 190 or the Classic # 12. Too much to say for So Much to Do. An entire day of Fun.

Great Fun For All

By Bob H |

The wife and I took in Tweetsie before heading home from our quick anniversary weekend getaway in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. It was definitely nice way to end our weekend stay.

The park has plenty of rides for the children and shows for the adults. However, the main attraction is obviously the steam engines that have made this venue famous over the years. This was especially the case since it was Railroad Heritage Weekend at the park with both Engine #12 and Engine #190 providing many photo ops for the many railroad enthusiasts in attendance. It was also a great educational experience since we learned about how both engines served a vital role in providing passenger rail service from Johnson City to Boone on the East Tennessee & Western Carolina Railroad during the first half of the 20th Century.

So, if you are traveling to the Boone/Blowing Rock area in NC, then the Tweetsie Railroad is a must do. You don't have to necessarily be a railroad enthusiast to have a great time since there's plenty of other activities offered at the park. Also, if staying at a hotel in the area, like we did at the Green Park Inn, be sure to ask about discount tickets.

Great place!!

By Jodi H |

We stopped by to find out some information. This time of year they are open from 9am-6pm. It costs $50 for adults & children up to 12 are $32. You can also get season passes for $125 & $85. Their phone number is 800-526-5740. They are getting ready for their Ghost Train. It runs 7:30-11:00 on Fridays & Saturday’s. They offer live entertainment, a zoo, gold mining, park rides, all at this Wild West Theme Park. The train ride lasts 3 miles. I’m planning on coming back with my grandson. He will love this place!!

Great for Younger kids

By J D |

We they are on a sunny and quite pleasant day. Children were ages 3-12. An old fashioned amusement park. The train is authentic and fun to ride. A few other rides and activities. Older children may not be as excited but our group had lots of fun.

Great family fun!!!

By Jason T |

This place is geared for the younger children but I admit, as an adult I still cherished the opportunity to ride on a genuine steam engine train. Our family had a great time! Eat before or after you go. Plan on about 6 hrs there...

Great for the toddler!

By 77Boomer |

We found this park extremely clean, pleasant and fun.
You have to realize what you are signing up for.
It is a children’s venue! My 2 year old grandson loves trains so it was a big hit, especially since it was a Thomas day.
The train is the real thing, a loud, coal burner that emits smoke into the air so don’t go if this is something you can’t handle.
The fifty bucks per adult is a bit extreme for what you get but the park is well maintained and staffed with friendly folks.
I would recommend to the park ownership and management to just do away with the silly cowboys and Indians schtick from the 1960’s and just add some live music or something that represents the area culture.
I know this review sounds negative for four stars but we really had a good time. Will do it again.

Tops Again!!

By George S |

5 and 10 year old boys still love this place. 14 year olds have outgrown it. Best deal is to arrive after 3pm and then you can come back the next day all day.

Memories

By mom_of_a_creative |

We haven’t visited in years, and it did not disappoint. Perfect weather. It wasn’t very crowded, so we didn’t have to wait long in the lines! Rides are great. Cute shows! So happy we came!

Special place to visit.......

By RGB1178 |

Tweetsie Railroad is indeed a special place to visit. We were there recently with our four young grand kids and they had so much fun (their parents were pleasantly surprised as well). There were a lot of rides for all ages and exhibits and shows to explore. Friendly staff !!! Highly recommend this family attraction!!!

Assistant manager very unfriendly and accommodating

By Mary |

Just arrived to Tweetsie at 1:30. Drizzling rain, but, grandkids are so excited. Policy is if you go in at three o’clock, next day free. Tomorrow’s weather 70 to 80% rain. Asked if we could go in at 1:30, due to most likely rain tomorrow. Only being one and half hours until three, but, no, can’t go in under no circumstances, and return next on the same ticket.Really, what happened to considering the circumstances!!!!!?????

Staff and entertainers are amazing at their job, but steep entry price may not be worth it

By Daniel L |

Tweetsie ride itself is brilliant. Great performers who interact with the children on the train make it such a joy for the young ones.

However, when you look past the train ride - it's hard to justify a head price of over $50, which might as well get you a real train ticket. There's a tiny collection of second-rate carnival rides, a mass of trinket stores, and a chairlift to a gem mining zone - where you have to pay extra to sift through. All that money had better be going to those great cowboy actors, and not to opening more gift shops.

The place is basically one attraction, which is five stars, and then a tourist trap exterior, which is one star. Whether it's worth fifty dollars per person for a 30 minute train ride, that is up to you.

Family

By Kathy L |

Fun cold night to ride the train!! Lots of lights and great decorations. Fun family time.
We were there 2 days before Christmas and it had snowed that day. It was a wonderland!

Perfect for ages 3-6

By Shelliu |

The Christmas train ride, amusement rides and visit with Santa and Mrs.Claus were so much fun. We have a 3 year old and she especially loved that she could ride rides by herself (most had a max night of 48in and no min. height). The train ride was not as cold as we thought it would be. Even though they are open air cars, the train goes very slow so it’s not windy. Train cars 3-4 seemed to be the best. We opted to eat before as food was very limited. Plan to be there 2-3 hours to get everything in - we did a 7pm train, arrived at 5:30 and were done around 8pm. Definitely worth getting tickets early as quite a few people were turned away as they were sold out.

Absolutely wonderful. Have been two years in a row.

By Beverly F |

Tweetsie was fun for me and my family. My husband, and I, took my daughter, her husband and their two kids, 4 and 2. We had a blast and road everything. We especially love the animals. What a great place to visit. This is the 2nd year in row we have gone to Tweetsie and stayed at the Meadowbrook Inn. Great place to stay and very close to Tweetsie.

Memories in the making

By Lauren R |

Such a wonderful time with family! The kids (As well as the Adults) enjoyed the rides and the shows. We all LOVED the train ride. Brings back memories from going as a child. I would highly recommend for family fun.

Great Place to Visit with Family

By Christopher Howey |

Have gone to tweetsie railroad since I was a kid. Now a father with a 2yr old took her she loved it. Yes the food and drinks are a little pricey but this is a theme park it is expected. Will be back for Christmas all the staff are friendly, my daughter loved all the rides and seeing the animals. Thanks again for the great time.

A really fun place to visit with your family

By TeriF212 |

This was so fun for me and my family. The lights were so pretty the train ride was very nice and the lights were beautiful that we rode past. They had little rides for children. They had the best hot chocolate that I think I’ve ever had. The gingerbread pictures were nice. The Christmas program was fun, especially like the 12 days of Christmas that they sang and acted out. The fudge was good. It was all so very fun. We enjoyed it.

Tradition

By Marahashley |

We had such a great day at tweetsie with our family! Our children had never been and we were recently visiting Boone with some of our family from out of town.Although it was raining, it was still the same as I remember traditionally from my visits as a child. Everything was so convenient even with a child in a stroller. The staff was exceptionally helpful and kind about everything. The price wasn't bad for an entire day granted the hurricane weather coming in we still had a blast! We will definitely be planning another visit soon!

Great for grandkids

By BloodyLegion |

Go on Sunday morning. Saturday lines for rides were long in 2017. This year there were no long waits. I miss the old days when Indians actually attacked the train and hooped and hollered while running through the cars, but the 6 and 11 year olds didn't know what they were missing. Easy to spend a day here,
Be careful in the petting zoo area--a couple of the little goats will make you want to take one home. Fun for all.

Grandchildren's fun place.

By sulilly2017 |

My grandchildren and our family have been visiting Tweetsie for the past 10 years. Even though we have almost aged out it will always carry many fun and heartwarming memories of train, plane, boat, chair lift, rides as well as battles that always end well 😀

Tweetsie your a blast from the past!!

By Jason E |

Gotta love Tweetsie! Always fun to go back in time and ride a train. My 3 year old had a great time. She was a little afraid when the cowboys and Indians were fighting but it wasn't too bad since we had warned her about it.

The staff at Tweetsie are awesome. I never ran into anyone that wasn't super friendly and helpful. Anytime my 3 year old daughter would speak to a cowboy or dancer or any of the staff at the shops they always took the time to have a conversation with her.

Look forward to another trip to Tweetsie!!

Fun Filled

By justfeltcreative |

The Tweetsie theme park was easy to find. The star attraction is a coal powered steam engine which takes the rider on a 3 mile trip punctuated by some Wild West drama. Make sure to sit in a car as far back from the belching engine as possible. Our granddaughter, 8, got a cinder in her eye. There is a medic on duty to remove cinders.
The little zoo was wonderful. Bring plenty of quarters to buy animal food. The chairlift and other rides were great fun. It was hard to leave this enjoyable place.

Great relaxing day

By Travel Pros |

Tweetsie Railroad is your traditional old-time amusement park based on the old west. These parks were very popular bak in the 60's and 70's when westerns were dominate on television. The park has two steam train that run on a track around the parameter of the park with stops for train robbers. There is a chair lift to carnival rides and attractions and a can can girl show. The food is very good and they also have great snacks. The park is very hilly so be prepared to walk. There is a bus and chairlift to the upper part of the park. They have ample parking with great opportunities for photos all over the park. Young children will love this park and adults will like the quiet and slower pace of the complex. We would highly recommend it.

Surprisingly good

By ThePac |

I went in spring of 2019, and to be honest I was expecting this place to suck. Boone isn't exactly Orlando, and I figured Tweetsie would be a second rate backwater kind of park. But it's surprisingly good, especially for younger kids. First off the steam train ride alone was worth the price of admission to me. It was just that enjoyable. I do wonder if the PC crowd will force Tweetsie to change their train robbery skit though as it is very much as one would expect from dated 50's cowboys and indians television show. But riding on a fully functional steam nicely restored engine belching steam and ash was quite an experience, and the cheesy train robbery is entertaining enough for the kids.

The rest of the park while on the smaller side is very clean and well maintained. The rides for the most part are pretty tame and best suited for kids less than 10. Older kids may get bored quickly if all they want is thrill rides, but there's enough to do in the park to make a day out of it for everyone else. I gotta be honest, for young children (especially Thomas fans) this is every bit as good as a Disney theme park. And I mean that in every way, from cleanliness to attentive staff to era-appropriate detailed costumes. It's very well done, especially considering it didn't come from a large multinational corporation with deep pockets. I think the main thing holding this place back is it's location. If Tweetsie were closer to a large metro area it would be jam packed full of people and probably 2x as big if not larger. As it is this is a gem located a little bit off the beaten path.

Day with Thomas

By awanderingyogini |

We had a wonderful time at Tweetsie and look forward to another visit next year! We went to a Day out with Thomas and enjoyed everything about the Tweetsie experience. Cute little "town" with food, rides, games and of course TRAINS!
Tweetsie has got it figured out!

It was a great time with a 10yr old and twin 2yr olds.

By M B |

Tweetsie was fun. It is expensive, $50 bucks for adults, but found it comparable to other attractions. I mean i spent $70 bucks to sift through a 5 gal bucket of rocks that tool 30min. Its very retro and reminded me of my childhood. My kids loved the train, the petting zoo and the rides.

I felt like a kid

By Carrie E |

I went to Tweetsie Railroad as a kid (around 7 years) and I have had fond memories ever since. I took my children there twice while growing up but this is the first visit wo kids and just my bf. But no matter who your with it's always a great time! You feel like your back in the old west, cowboys walking around, the architecture and of course the train. All the rides are geared for kids but big enough for adults so if u want to ride....do it, it's fun!
I especially like to feed the deer and other animals in the petting area ( feed only 50 cents)we panned for gold which is free( you can pan for gems as well for a reasonable fee, if u have never done it I recommend it... lots of fun). The chair lift is great or if u don't like heights u can ride a shuttle to the top. There's a small train on top of mountain, my bf was skeptical of riding what he thought were kid rides but ended up enjoying it.
The main attraction is the large steam engine a fun ride, with actors at several stops performing an old west robbery. This is funny and not scary ( use to have the Indians jump on and try to take over train with gunfighting in the Isles, guess they stopped that as to not scare kids but I missed it). BEST SEAT IS CAR 2 or 3 on LEFT AS YOU ENTER. Must say the show at the Tweetsie Palace, Diamond Lil's Can-Can Revue was great. There are several shows in different areas through the day.
Price to get in seems a bit high (adult $45.) but does include everything, shows, rides and u can do them as many times as you like. Food is reasonable and they have kids options. You can buy a souvenir cup and refill. And if you want to buy a souvenirs and not take on rides or carry around u can have it sent from anywhere in Park to Happy Trails Toy Shop by the park exit.
I love Tweetsie Railroad and hope I can take my grandkids next!

Negatives: only give discount to active duty military, NOT vets and retired. I feel this should be expanded.

Ok time

By Josh C |

For me, I needed more bang for the buck. Only three rides open and all for little kids. The animals consisted of two mini donkeys and two sheep. Not all was bad though. The train ride was wonderful and the lights were beautiful. The staff is very nice and the park was clean.

A Childs Magical place ( and for the young at heart)

By hikercat52 |

As a child it was an amazing magical place, Now with my granddaughters I am delighted to know they feel the same way as I did. They loved the live action and audience participation in the shows, screamed on the rides and giggled as they fed the animals. A wonderful adventure in a family friendly charming place.

Ghost Train

By John B |

A must see experience. Take the family and ride the train. Get your tickets in advance. This will insure you have a seat on the train. Then visit the haunted forest.

The Coolest Amusement Park on the East Coast

By Lura T |

BEST Fireworks Show in North Carolina Tonight! Tweetsie Railroad is the coolest amusement park on the East Coast...it is old-time fun with the vintage train cars and rides, the interactive Cowboy and Indian performance, and all the quality rides and merchandise. There aren't many unique amusement parks like this anymore, and we loved every minute of it. The memories from this visit will truly last a lifetime with my family. A day at Tweetsie is worth every penny.

Charming and quaint

By Rick F |

This place has been a local tradition since the 1950's and while it's no match for Orlando, it's a great day out with young kids. It offers a real steam engine drawn train, carnival rides, entertainment and food all set amongst the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. You can spend the entire day. Also note special events at Halloween, Christmas, New Year and July 4.

Best Christmas scenery in the Appalachians!

By jonathan h |

Great family fun night at Christmas! Especially enjoyed the steam engine railroad trip! Special shout out to Noah at the fudge place. Great representative for the company!!!

Day out with Thomas fun

By Brittany P |

This is our third time going to tweetsie. We’ve been on their Christmas train and during their regular days and now we have experienced their day out with Thomas. My youngest nephew had an absolute blast and got to try so many things and is still taking about it (he’s 3). My son and other nephew enjoyed the rides and the chair lift. Even my mother and father had a good time. It was a huge family vacation and it was made so special because of all the staff and hard work that goes into this place.

We ate at the feed and seed store and the kiddos loved their buckaroo lunches. We loved that they had food for everyone and not just corn dogs and pizza.

The mouse train was another favorite of the boys and it was our first time riding it even though we’ve been there 3 times (the lines were so long).

What’s hilarious is that most people would have complained that it rained the whole time but it didn’t take away from the trip at all. The care and hospitality of tweetsie shown through like a rainbow and I can’t wait to go back again

Pricey Fun

By markvM800MT |

Glad we went with the 4 yr old. Lots of variety and if you go after 3pm, you get the next whole day included. Trains, shows, petting zoo, rides, games, and food. Some of it can be had for free at local fairs and other events. It is a lot of money, but a good option especially for a not too busy summer weekday.

Ghost Train

By merangel99 |

This is our second time visiting Tweetsie for the Ghost Train event. We enjoyed it immensely and our 9 year old daughter especially loved it. It was just right for her. She would not go near the haunted house but enjoyed the other attractions. The Freaky Forest was spooky but not terrifying. The Ghost Train, of course, was the highlight. Again, it hit the perfect mark for the older kid/preteen crowd. Older ones might find it lame but our daughter loved it. Special shout out to the staff. All of the staff were friendly. I was impressed with the security present. When I was not feeling so well getting off a ride, the operator asked if I was all right. The staff member on our car during the train ride was great. He never broke character and actually made me nervous when he walked up and down the car coughing. The Ghost Train is an excellent way to celebrate Halloween!

Great family day out

By WhiteRoseWanderer |

Brilliant variety of activities to keep both a 2 and a 9 year old interested. Clean and safe and compact so everything appears close at hand.

Kids place

By Webb L |

This is a great summer vacation destination. You can ride a real steam powered train; complete with --well I don't want to spoil the fun. Nice saloon type restaurant to eat, see a show and relax.

7 & 3 year old

By brandonhill28 |

We had a fun time, park was not too crowded on a Tuesday. Agree with those who say the prices are a little steep, but it kept us busy for 6 hours.
Rides are almost ALL kid friendly and the fact it's not really teenager or adult friendly means you avoid all the cursing and smoking and other stuff you get at Carowinds or Kings Dominion type spot.
Yes it's somewhat un-PC but that's sort of the allure for those who visited decades ago.
My kids had fun and that's what counts.

Generational memories!!

By Jc4 |

I see lots of reviews ranging from disgusting food to high priced train rides.. folks I rode those trains as a kid and my daughters rode those trains as kids and looking back and remembering the big smile on there face that’s priceless… the reason the costs are higher is because of the amount of maintenance required to keep those steam engines in service and the staff to operate them.. you are looking at history and anything worth maintaining won’t be cheap.. go make memories..

Super fun for the young ‘uns!!

By Mikelob |

Went in after 4PM for a few hours and returned free the next day, great deal. Our twin 6 year olds had a wonderful time on all of the age-appropriate rides, the shows were perfect for their age group, and they loved the petting zoo. All of the staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. All in all a great time was had by everybody.

Pleasantly surprised

By Heather W |

We happened to come on a day Thomas the Train was on site and it was quite busy but we still had a blast. Tweetsie was much larger than expected and had lots to do for the young and old. Our 8 year old son was a little old for the Thomas extras going on, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself. It's on the pricey side for the region but it was worth it to us to see the smile on our son's face. Everything seemed well maintained and was running smoothly. Staff was friendly. There is a lot of walking starting from the parking lot so wear comfortable shoes. I would recommend a hat and sunscreen as well since there isn't much shade when you are outside. Lots of fun amusement park style rides and the train ride was also nice. We will definitely be back!

Boyfriend loves trains

place has not changed in all the years, very clean and the staff very nice. Trains are in excellent condition.

Awesome Holiday Train Ride!

First trip ever on the Tweetsie Railroad. Great for couples, kids and families. Highly recommend the holiday visit.

Ghost Train 2017 Fall Fun

By tteach1963 |

Ghost Train was FANTASTIC! Our family had so much fun at the park. It was great fun for my 18 year old daughter to my 78 year old father. The haunted carnival was spooky and lots of rides for all ages. The bone yard had a 3d maze, haunted Forest, and Black Hole were the right amount of scare without being too scary We did not make it through the haunted house because my daughter got too scared and had to exit. The town was decorated so pretty and I felt like I was in Halloween Town. This was a great surprise and fun for all.

Family Fun

By MS&CS |

We went to Tweetsie Railroad. There is so much to do up here. We rode the Train, chair lift, another smaller train, Ferris Wheel, Carousel, drive the Cars, and many other rides. We did Gem Mining and Gold Mining, the Deer Park Zoo. They have live shows, Characters that walk around, and Letterland. They have shops to buy souvenirs, places to eat, and a Candy Shop. They have a play ground. We had so much fun and planning another trip soon.

Love it!!

By JaneDoe8798 |

We had a blast. We enjoyed all the shows and our favorite is the train. Rode it twice. I loved the dancers and all the entertainment. Can't wait to come back.

Great Day

By Debby L |

We took the grands, 9 and 12, and we all had a great day. We enjoyed the rides and the petting zoo. Lots of great spots for pictures. The there was the train ride. There were no cowboys and Indians fighting it our on the train, It is more politically correct now, the antics take place off the train and are pretty cheesy but the kids will probably enjoy it. We had lunch at the Feed Bag. The lines can get long and the prices seem high BUT our burgers were large, very good and the price was in line with a "5 Guys" . We had a great day with the grands and lots of memories were made.

Toot toot

By gkiser505 |

Loved the train ride and everything about Tweetsie. There are many things to do even though most of the shows are hokey we really enjoyed our day there. It is a little pricey to get in tho.

A Lil Pricey but still lots of fun

By pongdidlydong |

We went specifically to see the dogs performing and they were great...wish the show had lasted a little longer. This was the first visit for 2 people in our group...we stayed 5 hours , they stayed 7 1/2 and I'm not sure they were really ready to leave. We all enjoyed the train ride, but I was a little disappointed that the cowboys didn't have a prequel for the ride in town like they normally do...this was also disappointing to 1 grandson who remembered a previous visit. Our adult children were really disappointed that the drop zone ride wasnt working! The park was certainly busy but I think our longest wait was about 20 minutes for a ride and for the mouse mine train ride...All in all it was a good trip but once again we did not get to the saloon show due to the lack of time. I would suggest if you really want to take full advantage of all the park has to offer then come in after 3pm and return the next day. Boone is a lovely town and with the fairly steep admission price it is well worth it to go for 2 days...I love it that you see lots of adults ( 50+ and grandparents ) some with grandkids and some alone. I like it that the park is clean and has a lil something for every age group and the food is pretty good too. Also, if you want , you can leave the park for lunch, etc and return as long as you get your hand stamped.I think the next time I visit it will be for 4th of July fireworks...also Ghost Train is great esp if you dress up!

Tweetsie You're a Blast from the Past!

By florafauna59 |

A trip toTweetsie Railroad is a day packed with fun! There is a train ride with an authentic train engine. There is an old west town that includes the saloon (no alcohol), restaurants, jail, and shoppes. There is a country fair at the bottom of the mountain, complete with an arcade and every kind of kiddie ride you can imagine. A chair lift ride (or short bus ride) to the top of the mountain reveals a playground for young children, the Mouse Mine ride and other a few other country fair rides as well. There is another restaruant there and a show for the kids too, There is gem mining (for an extra fee) and a petting zoo. The admission price is reasonable and children are guaranteed to have a good time. Once you pay the admission price, rides are unlimited all day. It will fill up your entire day and is well worth the price of the ticket. Go check it out for yourself. It's a lot of fun!

An absolute blast for younger children, and fairly fun for Parents too!

By Jcox7483 |

I went to Tweetsie as a child and remember loving it. I just recently took my own kid who is about 4. He had a terrific time at the park, riding the rides, and riding the classic steam train.

It's just the right size to be easily accessible but have plenty for kids to do.

Well-kept small town amusement park & train

By Penny H |

We had a great time. The park isn't huge, more like "just right". There are rides for young children and older children, plus the traditional steam engine train. Beautiful and peaceful, with gorgeous mountain views from the ferris wheel! Glad we went.

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price

By Adriana V |

I was really looking forward to visiting this “Christmas village” , but unfortunately the experience did not live up to the expectations set by the advertising. The event is clearly designed for very small children, and even then, the activities felt extremely limited. There were very few things to do, very few food options, and overall not much to justify the high ticket price.

For the cost, I expected a more complete and engaging experience. Instead, it felt underwhelming and overpriced. I hope the organizers take this feedback seriously and improve the variety, quality, and value of what they offer in the future.

Train fun

By Mikeljon C |

Had a fun time.
The wether was perfect on our day.
Lots of fun for the family.
Food and drink was reasonable.

Fun for small children, too expensive.

By john w |

I wanted to give it a two star rating but the people there were really friendly. It's just like a county fair, just with less rides and games. I could see where small children may like it but not adults or teens. The 45.00 charge is too much considering there are no roller coasters or any thing like that. The train was pretty cool except for the acting. I think it would of been better just to ride around on it.

Fun for everyone!

By Sunshinefl321 |

We had a wonderful time at Tweetsie! :-) I have a 7 and 11 year old and seeing their little smiles made my day!

Very Fun and Memorable

By Deborah D |

This is a must do! I cannot think of many more charters to make a 100 review but if you have kids this is a must must do!

A wonderful time!

By Sjdara |

My family and I went to Blowing Rock, North Carolina. While we were in the mountains we went to the Tweetsie Railroad. We had a wonderful time. The park was clean and the train ride was fun and interactive. At each stop along the ride the characters put on a funny and family friendly performance. Overall the train stole the show because it took us back to a time that has long since past. If you and your family are looking to make wonderful memories take time to visit and enjoy the show and park.

Come on a Friday

By Laura m |

We came on a Friday with our 4 year old granddaughter . NO LINES! She loved it all. There is a train for little ones at 11am, but we took the earlier train with the robbers shooting cap guns. She jumped on the first shot, but after that she was not scared. She loved the animals, mining for “gems” as she said, the go carts, Ferris wheel and the dancing shows. When we arrived at 9 we parked right in front, and by 2pm we had experienced all the rides suitable for her age and were on our way home. It was a great day!

Great attraction

By maryannep34285 |

This is a great attraction for families. It is not so large that it is overwhelming (like the big hideously expensive places!) but it iis very entertaining and just enough activities to fill the day. Great train ride - one of the best we've been on - entertainment along the way. The rides are really nice, food is good, and the shows are fantastic! They go above and beyond to maintain the grounds and the quality of attractions and entertainment. Highly recommended for a day of great fun!

The price is much too high! It's okay for children under 10 or gandparents.

By Gayla C |

I was disappointed, the train ride was okay, but the skits are boring. The shows were nice, especially the cloggers, and the magic show.

A joke now

By Christy C |

I have to say tweetsie has become a joke , it was over 200 for 2 adults and 2 kids for one day , we pay and they tells us that some rides will open later or close earlier because they are short staff , that was ok but once we got in there was over 5 rides that never open and the prices for food and drinks are insane. I have to say I don't blame the employees at all because they were just doing there job.

Awesome Customer Service

By SEABEESAMI |

I had made last minute plans online. The website was confusing and I ordered the wrong tickets. My family and I were not going to be able to attend the function as planned. I spoke with Debra in Customer Relations/Ticketing and she was more than helpful. She tried to reschedule our plans to a later date unfortunately my family plans vacations a year in advance as we work for the government. Debra was awesome to deal with and her assistance was greatly appreciated. We will schedule in advance though.

Always a good time

By Jamiestaley77 |

Tweetsie did not disappoint. My family had a great time. Tweetsie is just big enough for small children to see and ride all things and then leave. They don’t tire out before they get to experience it all. It would be nice to have more workers to help man rides as several were shut down and other rides had to share technicians. However, my family had a great time.

Fun sat

By Liz N |

We enjoyed spending the day at tweetsie. It is great for families -especially with kids under 12 years of age. We liked the train ride into the mountains with the skit. The rides are reminiscent of a county fair in the 1950s. I am excited that the are going to do a Christmas train this year. The scenery is beautiful in blowing rock.

Tweetsie is still great

By Bryan T |

I haven't been to Tweetsie in over 40 years. I took my grandkids last week. It was still as fun as I remember. A great value... Stop at the welcome center for discount coupon.

Children love it. Petting zoo.

By dylanc812 |

Tweetsie is clean with a train to ride that re-enacts the days of the wild west. Some small children may get scared with the cowboys and Indians. They are carnival rides. They have gift shops. People of all ages enjoy the petting zoo.

Great day of fun

By luvbooksandblooms |

I took two grandkids along w their parents for a day at Tweetsie. The 6 & 7 year olds were the perfect age, didn’t get tired & tall enough for most rides. The parking lot was full but we didn’t have long lines. We packed lunch fixings and tail gated as food is typically expensive. The workers were exceptionally polite and pleasant & the park was clean. My only complaint was the lack of water stations to refill water bottles.

Cheesy

By ckw882 |

Tweetsie needs some help with their skits. Best show was Hooper and Porter. But their sound system at all the events were lacking. I am sure the kids had fun and I did enjoy spending my day there just was disappointed. I expected a little more like Dollywood productions. Everyone was friendly except the lady at the ticket counter.

Cute!

By BeccaDBookworm |

Riding the RR and being pulled by a 100 year old steam engine was a fun time for all of us. We enjoyed the petting zoo, shows and chair lift.

Pathetic

By Bryan L |

Our family has been to Tweetsie countless times over the years, now they have priced it so absurdly that we will never go again. Each time we go at least half of what is there doesn't work or is simply closed.

The last time we went to Ghost Train you had only three things to do, ride the train, buy nauseating food, or go to the Haunted Forest and see if you could guess what whisky the guy with the fake chainsaw was drinking.

At this point you could most likely have more fun hiking up to Ghost Town in the Sky and enjoying that defunct park.

Soon Tweetsie will be no more...and the way it is now, that's not a bad thing...

Fun

By sherryneonurse |

We my mom sister and I visited. We enjoyed the train ride and western show, but our favorite was the Deer Park, it had fallow deer, llamas and others, my favorite were the month old baby goats!

Nice for kids

By brent c |

Nice place for kids, but a little too pricey. Rode the ghost train, which kids enjoyed, as well as haunted house.

Extremely Child Friendly

By L D |

I still remember a visit to Tweetsie 55-60 years ago as a child and 30+ years ago with my children and now I have been with my grandchildren. Surprisingly, the train ride itself remains much unchanged...even perhaps politically incorrect in this day. As a child, we watched cowboys on TV every night. Now, the train robbery and Indian attack didn't make much sense to my grandchildren. But, the Park itself is very child friendly. Almost any age can ride all the rides with an adult. The concessions are reasonably priced, the park is well kept and clean. We had a blast.

Great for the family

By MAJPhilson |

I grew up having my Grandfather take me to Tweetsie. I loved it as a child and it brings back so many great memories. Now I take my little ones there and they love it too. The train robbery was awesome. Great place to bring kids or grandchildren.

I would come again

By Andrea L |

This was SO much fun! My three boys enjoyed it so much. There is so much to do. We went on a 3 mile train ride, took an old time photo, and went on some rides. We also mined for stones!

For children or grandchildren under 10, this is the place!

By Marty Y |

We took our 2 grandchildren, ages 4 and 7, with us for a mini vacation. I haven't been there since I was about 12. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The place was spotlessly clean. The trees and flowers were all trimmed and grass manicured. All the rides were perfect for our age children. The train rides and shows were a big hit and very well performed. I thought the food was a bit expensive but no more than I expected really. The only thing I thought could use some help was the petting zoo. I think it needed some work on the setting with some grass, plants, etc. I would recommend Tweetsie to anyone with small children. Older ones in their teens might be bored somewhat.

We love tweetsie

By mistyautumncolem2018 |

Absolutely love Tweetsie. Many things to for kids of all ages. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. They stop the chair lift to accommodate those with needs. Food is amazing. Very clean grounds. Shows are awesome. Great place to make memories.

A lot of fun

By TIFFANY J |

We have 4 kids under 11 and there's something for everyone to do here. It is slightly over priced, but a lot of fun.

Ghost Train @ Tweetsie

By Globetrotter |

Halloween decorations everywhere!! The Ghost Train was surprisingly fun for the entire family. Afterward, the "monsters" and "ghouls" danced to Thriller on the main street. My kids are already asking to return next year!

Young at heart visit

By skwh310 |

We visited Tweetsie Railroad as a couple and had fun. We enjoyed the train ride ( I had hoped for more of a view), but it was still fun. This is a fabulous place for anyone with children or grandchildren.

NOT for adults, teens or preteens!

By terrymdorr |

We should’ve known when we couldn’t raise a live person by telephone that this experience was not going to be for us. Despite the lack of sufficient information we decided to give the Tweetsie railroad a try. This $52, 40 minute experience was good for the crowds of preschoolers and their parents and grandparents, but a complete waste of time for the six adults in our group.

Surprisingly fun

By Maria.T |

I was expecting a tourist trap with bad rides and long wait times. It's actually entertaining. My daughter had a blast and its almost impossible to spend less than five hours there if you do everything. The only thing that needs work is the ticket prices. Ridiculous! Clog dancers were terrific too. Thank you!

go woke go broke

By Escape01298931226 |

after going there several times over the years we were very disappointed I. the train. a frying pan really ppl? it's an old west theme are you trying to be woke to how the west was won?

Fun with Thomas the Train!

By Yellowman15 |

My wife and I took our 4 year old twins to Tweetsie Railroad to enjoy the rides and ride Thomas the train who was only there for the week. Most of the rides are geared for little ones although there are a few rides for older children. The kids had lots of fun. The train ride was fun with two exceptions. If you sit too close to the steam engine you will get lots of ash on you. Second, the staff puts on a show at a fort during the train ride that is mediocre at best and very politically incorrect in this day and age. Young children are entertained but it could be better with some effort. Overall it’s a fun half day and worth the stop.

Ok trip

By spoiledbrat4ever |

Not much for younger children I took my child to watch one of the shows and was told because he couldn't walk and participate he couldn't see the show my child is two and rides in a stroller he would have never walked the park I did complain but a big deal was made because I waited til we left to complain and not when it happened but I was trying not to cause a seen

A great family attraction

By Dave M |

The Tweetsie Railroad is so much more than just a train ride. The Tweetsie Railroad offers something for everyone.
My family loved everything. The cloggers show was awesome. The kids got s kick out of the magic show and the turtle and hare show.
I was surprised with the food. Everything was good and rather reasonably priced for a theme park (not cheap by any means). The candy store on the hill up from the train had some amazing treats - peanut clusters and haystacks were really good.
The Cabernet show was ok. The audio system wasn't functioning well on the day of our visit and we couldn't understand what the performers were saying.
On the train ride, try to get a seat in the 2nd or 3rd car on the right side facing the embankment. This will give you the best view of the show during the ride.
By the way, the gift shop near the main entrance has a Porter Music box on display that was playing while we were there. These are rare and really near to watch.

Ghost Train

By cruzn2 |

Had a great time! Everything was decorated with either fall or Spooky items! They had a haunted house and creepy forest. The lines went fast. They had performers in the street singing and dancing. They had the carnival rides going. They had employees dressed up in costumes and many people came wearing costumes.Very festive atmosphere 🎃It was very enjoyable for us and our two teenage granddaughters. The spooky train ride topped off the evening. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun evening in the mountains🍁

Fun afternoon with grandchildren, be careful with photo purchase

By John P |

Fun family time, one entry fee and all rides included. Fun train ride with some wacky entertainment along the way to keep the ride interesting. Chair lift ride up the mountain was easy and fun. Petting zoo another fun way to spend time with young children. Overall we had a great time and we were happy we decided to visit.

Photographers offered to take pictures and they did a great job. Purchasing photos was a bit confusing and options were not clearly communicated. Be careful with choices and make sure you get what you paid for, make notes and verify your receipt and photo #'s If your receipt does not have the correct photo #'s listed for download when you get home there is nothing they can do for you.

Nice activity

By Ashley C |

While we were nearby, we happened upon the Tweetsie Railroad. Lovely light displays, vendors and activities for people of all ages. Had 9:30 tickets, but were able to hop on the 8:00, short distance train ride with music and lights.

Fun

By pirate013 |

Fun little place with rides, shows & a petting zoo! We enjoyed our time here! They have precious little sheep that look like stuffed animals!! So soft & cute! Take 50 cents for animal food. Ride the train & the chairlift

Tweetsie

By Blake |

Fabulous place to take and spend the day with grandchildren. Especially very young grandchildren. We love the Blowing Rock area, especially Tweetsie and have even purchased season passes.

Such a fun day at Tweetsie!

By melwashere81 |

We decided to visit here because of the train ride and train robbery skit. It sounded extremely fun but we didn't realize just how crowded it was going to be. We got there 30 minutes before opening time and the line was extremely long. It took almost 40 minutes after they opened to get tickets and be inside the park so we missed the first train ride. We decided to go to the ski lift instead which was fun. Most of the rides here are geared towards kids so we only rode 1 of them. The shows are fun even though they are only 15 minutes long. The petting zoo was fun but crowded. The lines to get on the train are really long so get in line at least 20 minutes before departure. We were a bit disappointed with the skits of the train robbery. We were expecting bandits on horseback but that was not the case. From what I read online they are short staffed just like every other place right now thanks to covid shutdowns so that was probably the reason behind this. The gift shops were nice and well stocked and the staff was friendly. Overall we really enjoyed our day even though ticket prices were a bit high at $52 a person. It was great for a one time visit but I don't think I'd visit again.

Little pricey but great for small children.

By Mary S |

Tweetsie is a little pricey for what you can do there. There aren't many rides/attraction to be priced as high as it is. Also the drinks and food are really expensive. One drink from a vending machine was $4. Although if you live in NC you should go once. The train ride was a great experience but for small children or really anyone you definitely need some sort of glasses so you will not get ashes in your eyes. The shoes are really fun. We saw The Country Clogging Jamboree and they were really good and had crowd participation. Also we saw the CanCan Show and it was good as well and a great place to sit and rest, as well as get a snack while keeping little kiddos entertained. Some of my favorite things we did was riding the chair lift to miners mountain and going to the petting zoo. At miners mountain you can pan for gold and gem mine for an extra cost. Overall I did enjoy my experience at Tweetsie.

Fun Time - Day out with Thomas

By Jeff S |

Tweetsie RR is a fun time. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and a good set of walking shoes/ sneakers. This week was a Day Out With Thomas which we've done several times over the years when the kids were smaller. So their really not kids anymore at least not the Thomas age but we all still have the Child in us. We road Thomas twice and enjoyed the extra activity during the train ride. It was unexpected. During the non Thomas time I've been told that the regular train rides they have tain robberies, gun fights and a few other added attractions during the ride. Enjoy riding the rides throughout the park. You can go to the upper level and visit the animal farm - go in and pet and feed the miniature goats, mini horse and the other animals. Take a train ride on the other train not affiliated with Thomas. Watch the shows they have one is a magic show and there's another which I forget what it was because we didn't see it. Visit the Fudge shop and the many other stands throughout the park.

Great time for the family

By Francus |

We had a wonderful time at Tweetsie. The staff was very friendly and the shows were great. This is not a very large place but we still managed to spend most of a day here riding the rides and seeing a couple of shows. We rode the train twice as well.

Had no idea what to expect!

By Corey M |

My wife and I joined her sister and brother in law taking their kids here. The kids love it and this was my first time getting to experience Tweetsie!

I had no idea what to expect! I thought the train and a few ides and a few animals to feed. This place is a mini amusement park for families. From a good amount of kid/family friend rides, the train and mini show the staff put on, to other things for the kids to do. This was a fun-filled day!

Seeing all of us laugh and smile was the highlight of my day! The facility was very clean and the staff we encountered were all friendly!

It helped the weather was perfect, too!

Highly recommend this as a family day trip!

Disappointed

By Salemtraveler24153 |

If you don't have kids this place is a disappointment. Admission is way over priced. Train ride is really the only thing that I enjoyed.

Still fun after all these years!

By dayzie5517 |

I took Bug here during Memorial Day weekend this year, and we had a wonderful time hanging out in the “old west.” We came when Bug was around 2 years old to see Thomas the Tank Engine, so of course she didn’t remember any of it, so it was like coming for the first time. Bug loved the train ride, the shows, the carny rides, and the chair lift, so overall I’d call it a success! It’s kitschy but cute, and the employees were all very friendly and accommodating. I’ll be happy to come back any time to visit again!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE @ TWEETSIE!!! A+++++++

By Jason K |

Tweetsie Railroad is great! Old-School charm.... VERY clean and VERY friendly staff. The kids love it! We go every year and they also have amazing fireworks for 4th of July. We have never had a bad time there. Its great for younger kiddos. My older boys still love going. The train is fantastic. We have been going to Blowing Rock for 20 years now and make a visit to Tweetsie EVERY trip.

Wonderful place for children and those that are children at heart

By jarey24 |

Several years ago me and my wife visited tweetsie and we enjoyed it. Then we took our 3 yr old (at that time) and he enjoyed it. Then we took our 5 yr old and 21 month old boys to see the Ninja Turtles twice this July and upgraded to season passes and we have been going about every other weekend since. We live a little over 2 hrs away. Its stroller accessible and you can bring your own drinks and snacks!! The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Someone consulted by Disney?

By James L |

It has been many years since I visited this park. The rides and train are all about the same but the staff and the theme park are nothing like I remember. Staff was friendly and helpful. People picking up trash, landscaping was upgraded, no weeds everywhere etc. Today Tweetsie was only about 15% full so we waited for nothing. The food and the "Feed Store" restaurant was ready in seconds. The restaurant staff told us that the food line is usually 100 people deep. It is a little pricey but it is worth it for kids under 13.

Only comment for improvement is that the train show and the dancing shows need to fix the sound system. It was hard to understand what people were saying.

Family Fun

By Harold |

My family and I went July 4. This was such a happy and patriotic place. We decided to make it a family tradition.

Expensive not much to do

By wrayj0115 |

For the cost of the tickets for a family of four there wasn't much to do. Ok for small kids... basically an overpriced country fair with a cheesy train show. Won't waste time going back. With gas/hotel/food/tickets definitely not a trip worth over $300. Very disappointed

All Glitz and excitement, but where's the reason for the season?

By Ebeth W |

We have looked forward to taking our grandchildren here for several years. Finally had the chance this year. We took our 2.5-year-old grandson and our daughter on December 21st. of this year. VERY expensive, but the engine maintenance and all the lights and glamour take money, I'm sure.

Our grandson was all excited, the sights and sounds were amazing for sure. As we boarded the train and rode for 20 minutes, the sing-a-longs were fun, and the lights were fantastic. But as I went along it occurred to me that there was not one reference to a manager scene, a star of Bethlehem, nothing that would lead anyone to the main and only reason for the season. Christ's birth, God's gift of his only son.

All the glitz and fantastic excitement in the air is fleeting. It is all fun and games until one realizes there is no God....

A must do at least once with young kids!

By vpiturtle13 |

I have only taken my son once, when he was 5, and they did have the dog show. I was thinking about taking him in the summer again but it's pretty pricey. I would expect something a bit elaborate if I'm paying $45 just for my ticket. The views from the ski lift ride and the ferris wheel are pretty cool! My son had a blast though!!

Great Fun for Everyone!

By Pat C |

The many activities of this attraction are not evident from the highway. There are great rides, a ski lift from one level to the next, interesting shops, live animals, and of course the iconic train ride on a REAL train. Could do without the polluting smoke, but heck, that's part of the experience I guess.

Great Family Day!

By CMcGowan3 |

Pack your own lunch ahead of time we wasted 45 minutes in line to buy overpriced food at Miners Mountain. Otherwise I thought the price - $80 - for 2 adults and 2 kids (under 2 is free) was well worth the Day. Our oldest had a ball trying all the rides and seeing all the Wild West stuff and horses. I don't think it's for kids older than 10-12 years old but young families should check it out.

Made great memories

By Ivy E |

I went to tweetsie in June of 2001 but they didn't have that so I said 2020..but I did have so much fun. It reminds me of old Tuscan in Arizona... I loved the train ride and the saloon..I felt like I was in the time of little house on the prairie.I would totally recommend tweets is railroad as a fun thing to do with the family.. Plus the other places around there make it more worth it.

Well overpriced for the offerings, and overall just meh.

By Joseph Robba |

We came to tweetsie as my son is a big fan of all things trains, and we thought it would be a fun way to spend the day. For the most part, we had a fun day, but I have a couple of complaints about how this place is set up. First off, $45 per adult is an absolutely absurd price considering there are virtually no attractions for adults to partake in, i.e. a rollercoaster, etc... that you would find at a tradition theme park. There's literally nothing for you to do here as an adult other than ride the train and the chairlifts.
The other thing that rubs me wrong about coming here is that you pay that extravagant fee to get in, and activities like the petting zoo, and the gem mine come at an extra cost. Why did I pay the entrance fee? It literally is just the gateway to spending more money, and doesn't actually provide you with anything other than the bare minimum experience at the park.
Lastly, the park just feels rinky dink. Many of the childrens rides look like rides that come to mall parking lot carnivals, and there's just nothing memorable about any of the activities there. The train ride featured some extremely sub-par actors, that play out some sort of bank robbery, kidnapping...to be honest, I really don't know because it was too difficult to follow with the terrible audio, terrible acting, and overall just lack of appeal.
Tweetsie in my mind, is that thing that we talked about doing, we did it, and we'll more than likely never do it again.

Great for families with young kids or grandparents.

By Fishygibbs |

Super day with grandkids. Older kids would find it quite "cheesie" but our 4 and 7 year old grands loved every minute.

Ride the train in the mountains

Great place to spend the day with young kids. Operational steam locomotive. Rides, shows and food.

Golden Rail Season Pass Holders

By Ashley M |

My family and I love Tweetsie! I have been going since I was a very small child and I love being able to take my kids there now. Very safe environment. Caring staff. Love that the cowboys and other entertainers interact with the kids. We go a few times a month (go three times and you have paid for your season pass). We have been to a few of the special events. Day out with Thomas was fun, the Ghost Train was awesome! Rides, petting zoo...I cant say one bad thing about Tweetsie! We do like to go during the week to avoid bigger crowds, but the weekends aren't too terrible. Wear comfortable shoes. Cant wait till April when they open back up!

Worth It

By PaulBeve |

Enjoyable day with grandkids, 2 and 5 year old. Great 1st amusement park for younger kids as it is quality but not huge. All the staff we saw were nice. When riding on Tweetsie sit on the right side because when it stops that is where the action is. Park is well maintained. Maybe a bit pricey but there are 2 steam engines and track to maintainb and on normal days you ride everything as much as you want.

NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY.

By 1CourtCk |

Took my 81 yr old mother with Dementia to visit the park. When we pulled into the parking lot- I showed the parking attendant the handicap card- he directed me to the lower parking lot. It was very hard to push the wheelchair with all the gravel. Next,to even reach the upper level where the ticket booths are, there was a very steep incline. No shuttle bus or attendant to provide assistance. After we got into the park- it consisted of more steep inclines. The consession stands only had 1 cashier and the long lines were ridiculous. If the ticket booth lady had told me the park contained these inclines - I would NOT have paid to go in. I would only recommend going to this amusement park if you can walk in & out on your own 2 legs and you get in line 1 hour before you get hungry!!

Great Family Time!

By Max C |

An absolute blast! Great for young children 1.5-4yr old, from our experience. Many great kid rides and activities. The train ride was everyone’s favorite, even the parents.

Be sure to check if you can get discounted tickets through NC SECU!

Joy-filled

By nancie f |

As a person with mobility issues, I wish to commend the performers and staff of Tweetsie Railroad. They were ALL extremely helpful, patient and joy-filled! I wish to especially commend Sharon, our bus driver and her handling of me and my scooter! Our grandchildren had a great time, too!!

Nice family outing

By Lisa T. |

This is a nice family attraction, the cost has gone up like everything else. The price of food is expensive, but this is to be expected. Advice, take in a few snacks or have some in your vehicle. The lines for food are extremely long, especially if you go in October when the leaves are changing colors. The train ride is lots of fun as well as the Mouse Mine train at the top of the mountain..

Great History, Great Fun!!

By David A |

Tweetsie is an amazing place filled with stories of the past and that area of Boone & Blowing Rock, and the train itself is fantastic. If you're visiting the High Country you do not want to miss this attraction. REALLY COOL experience!!

Hasn't changed in years!

By terlynn |

Had not been to Tweetsie Railroad in many years, since our children were little. Brought the grandchild for his first visit. The place literally has not changed a bit except for the price of admission. I guess in a way not changing is good because it brings back lots of memories, but is does seem a little expensive for what you get.

Go if you have kids

By FarAway31935 |

We went here for the ghost train ride and it was really, really disappointing. This amusement park is definitely meant for little kids. The ghost train ride was not scary in the least and actually really corny and needs to be updated. The other rides are limited and it was not worth $44 each. We won’t be back.

Tweetsie Exploration w/ 2yr and 11yr old

By CoastalCode |

So much to uncover! We had a great time with 2.5 year old obsessed with trains and 11 year old, he enjoyed the rides most! Great weather mid-October, a little crowded but could have been much worse. Waited about 30-40 minutes to ride the train. The rides had little to no wait and was convenient that tickets weren’t required. Most of what we explored was inclusive, fed the goats/mini horses, rides, chair lift, train ride, mini train ride. Gem mining was fun and cost $12 for a medium size bucket.

Pollution

By villasollano |

Pollution from the train is unacceptable, came to check for the grand children and won't be going. If needed I will go back to take pictures... Horrible for 2018.

Labor Day

By Winston M |

In my opinion, Tweetsie is not worth the money . The rides are old and few, The attraction are old & not very entertaining . The train is nice, but not worth 50.00 for adults and 32 for kid over 3. No worth it. So many other things to do in NC mountains for way less..

Big kids

By leannamtucker |

We had a blast, we went with a group and we had kidos with us, but i think the adults had just as much fun

Great Park for Kids & Adults

By duffey3700 |

Cool place for kids and adults too!! Lot of rides and things to do, plan on spending at least 4-5 hours to take most of it in. Our granddaughter really enjoyed the animal park, big selection of kid friendly animals. Train ride was so good we rode it twice. Hoping to go again next year.

Well..

By 770jaimep |

Never been before and wasn't sure what to expect but this wasn't it. The absolute best part was the train around the park. My kids loved that. Rode twice. Every employee encountered was polite and nice.

Very pricey in my opinion to enter. $50 adults and $32 kids. Spent 6.5 hours here. Very few rides. 2 didn't work. 3-4 my 5 year old was too tall to ride. Petting zoo was nice.

Everything was an added cost, i.e. Gem mining, feeding the animals.

We spent a lot of time on the lift which ended up being the best ride.

It was another one time visit for our family. Been there done that type of thing. Could've spent same amount and gone to Carowinds. Reminded me of a rundown old western park getting ready to go under.

Tweetsie Christmas

By travelingwolvesnc |

We visited Tweetsie for their Christmas special event which they have on Thanksgiving weekend and each weekend in December (evenings only). This is the first year they have held this event. Important to note...we went there without kids. It was fabulous fun. The park featured a dazzling lights display with Christmas everywhere you looked. Absolutely beautiful. The highlight of the park was the 20 minute night-time train ride with magnificent light displays throughout the ride. The train featured monitors that gave the lyrics for the sing-along Christmas carols. Amazing for both kids and adults.
For the kids...the things to do included a live Christmas show, a carousel, a walk-in snow globe, face painting,a life-size gingerbread house, and of course, an opportunity to meet Santa. The park has gift-shops and various food options available. If you have kids...don't miss it. If you don't have kids with you...don't miss it.

Wow what a whistle blowing Great Park

By dukeusa1 |

This is a “Raw Diamond find” of an amusement park - just a FEEL GOID SPOT. From the moment we pulled into the parkway lot from the main highway in Blowing Rock, NC we knew THIS PARK was special- the Staff just made you feel so at Home.

Admission was very reasonable too - nothing like the Disney Back Breaking prices. And CLEAN❗️Spotless- with nice facilities.

Relax in the Mountain air, such a refreshing retreat from the misery of summer swelter - and just a hop away from the Blue Ridge Parkway Entrance. All that’s FREE.

THE GRANDKIDS LOVED THE TRAIN - The Bumper Cars- and all the other special MAGIC of the park.

Going Back soon.

Nice train, not much else

By Moonraker |

Went here when i was 10 and it was amazing, went again when i was 20 and it was cool. Went at 45 and not so much. If your under 20 its great, over 20 and it's lots of walking for little reward.

Trip with my Grandson

By Shelly P |

I took my grandson to Tweetsie for his 6th birthday. We had so much fun!! His favorite ride was the ski lift and the Big train which we rode 2 times and he absolutely loved it!! He still talks about how much fun we had! If you are looking for a place to take young children that isn't overwhelming or too big to be enjoyed then this is the place for you!!

Step back in time

By amy613 |

My last visit to Tweetsie Railroad was 20 years ago, and it’s exactly the same as I remembered. While Tweetsie shows it’s age, it was super clean and the employees were so nice. My 2 year old daughter had so much fun! We will definitely be back!

Very expensive

By asmith6688 |

The prices are very high for what you get. 2 adults $90 for the equivalent of $20 worth of fair rides. The train ride is cute. It would be more fun for kids about 3-8 years old. You can do everything in 2 1/2 hours. Considering we can get FL annual
Season passes to Disney World for $200.00 it really puts in into perspective how over priced it is. I'd expect $20-$25 an adult. $10-15 for children. The petting zoo is cute. We enjoyed the sky lift as well if was just way over priced for what you get.

Cool old themepark

By Tntbrock |

This place has been around a long time! It has some really cool old stuff you cant see just anywhere. You can ride a real steam locomotive! The food there is pretty good. But...the price is way too high for what you get. It is almost as much as a ticket to Dollywood which has much better rides.

Tweetsie Railroad

By Sandra A |

This is an awesome park. The lay out is where you can easily visit Main Street, ride the train and then go to various areas in the park. Some are in walking distance and others you take the chair lift to. Awesome gem
mining also. Great petting zoo. Picnic areas. Lots of restroom areas. Great fun, perfect weather.

Expensive...but well worth the experience!

By Frank R |

Bottom line, up front...in the end, with a military discount, we paid $140 for a family of four and added an additional $100 for food and souvenirs. Yet, beyond the high price point, Tweetsie Railroad was well worth the day.

Our kids will remember this experience for a long time. Between the actual train and riding on numerous kiddie rides, the lines were never an issue.

If I could offer one complaint, it'd be the price of concessions. I paid in excess of $15 for water not realizing one could bring in their own bottle. Perhaps more advertising is due?

horrific

By veronica d |

I purchased 4 tix for Dec 30, 2022, 5:30 PM train ride and amusement park.
Unfortunately it started to rain and the temp dropped to mid 40s. I called the Tweetsie ticket office to request a refund only to get a voicemail. I left a VM with no callback. I went to the Tweetsie will call where I was met by an older woman with long blonde hair. I requested a refund and I was told that the night was beautiful and that I should just make the best of it. She denied my refund.
When we entered the park none of the rides were operable due to the inclement weather. Half of the Christmas lights were turned off on the train trail.
We attempted to take refuge in one of the cafes for hot chocolate praying the rain would die down. The cafes were mobbed with guests and the food was horrific.
Tonight should have NEVER happened my refund of 174.00 should have been granted without an issue, especially since most of the park was inoperable due to the rain.

Tweestie Christmas

By funmom |

We visited Tweestie Christmas and my kids loved it. It had just snowed a few nights before, and it was really magical to see the snow everywhere during the train ride. The train ride was relaxing with Christmas music, but very COLD. Make sure you dress with winter hats, gloves, thick coats and dress in layers if you visit. I think the food prices were reasonable compared to Dollywood and Disney. My son and I had a slice of cheese pizza at $3.25 a slice, and we ordered hot chocolate at $3.25 a cup and it was amazing actually. I wish I knew their recipe! Admission tickets were expensive and I just wish there were more rides open. But, the parking was free and our tickets were checked in very quickly. So, that helped alot since things went so smoothly. The park and train are very beautiful with all the Christmas lights. I have always wanted to visit Tweestie Christmas for years, and I'm thankful my family got to visit.

Great family fun

By FarAway26005305348 |

I have been to Tweetsie for over 20 years. I noticed the cowboy and Indian robbery act had been taken away. I personally never even as a child felt like the Indians were portrayed badly. It was great show and the Indians hopping the train was the excited part I looked forward to. Sad that my child won’t get that experience. But times change and everyone has an opinion.

Family

By cmama_tbw |

We had two younger kids that thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Also three grown kids who had a great family time experience. I would suggest of possible you arrange your visit to come at 3:00 pm on your first day then you can come back in free the following day. With smaller kids, we would have been able to do everything we wanted.

Fun for littles, but not for older kids or adults

By stacyfirst1 |

We went here expecting it to be really cool and somewhat scary for Halloween, but it was not. It's set-up for little kids, so the show was cheesy, the mazes were simple, and the other things to do were just boring. We really tried to have fun with my older child, but it was truly disappointing. The best part was taking pictures of ourselves, which we can do anywhere, and was not why I paid so much money for us 3 to go here in October for their Halloween event.

Really fun day

Great Christmas train ride and awesome lights!

By Ray |

We had a great time last night at the Tweetsie Railroad Christmas train ride. All the employees we interacted with were very nice. The Christmas show was excellent and the singers rendition of "The Twelve Days Of Christmas" was just flat out awesome. The train ride was very nice and the lights were awesome.

Our son is in a wheel chair and everything we did was handicap and wheel chair accessible. Keep in mind that Tweetsie Railroad is on the side of a mountain so whoever is pushing someone is going to get more of a workout. :) Our son really enjoyed meeting Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

It was definitely worth the near six hour round trip for us and I'm sure we'll be doing it again.

Mountain Fun at Tweetsie

By BigOleMan’s BBQ |

It’s a experience for the whole family. We get tickets through the motel so you get a deal there. If you go after 3pm. You can get in the next day on the same ticket. The old shops, saloon and dancers, cloggers, shows up top for the kids, ride the chair lift or ride the bus. Petting zoo and rides up top and rides down the hill. Train ride with cowboys & Indians and feeling like your back in time is the best to me. I went as a kid and we have been taking our grandkids right before they start school. Now we’ll be taking great grandkids.
You can’t go wrong just being in the mountains and Tweetsie steps it up for the whole family. 👍🏻🇺🇸
They have some good food as well.

A family favorite

By Loving_2_Travel2000 |

We love this place so much we bought season passes and drive hours and hours to come visit every other month. They have something for everyone and the people are so nice. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants a family vacation without a million other people around.

Not worth the money

By WannaTravelMore |

Went here 5 years ago and the kids loved it. This time, took a teenager and 9 year old while their mama and sister were at High Gravity for the day. It was either Tweetsie, sit in hotel all day or drive around and waste gas. Wish we had picked 1 of the other 2. A number of places/rides weren't open. The 14 year old was bored, not worth 50 bucks for her. The train ride 'show' has middle school aged jokes now. The highlight was riding the Chair lift. We went to ride it up one last time at 515 but it was already closed even though the sign said 530. I do NOT recommend taking a teenager.

We love this place!!! You can pack your own lunch and drinks!!!

By lovetotrip12 |

So much to do we always go in after 3 on one day the come back for free the next day so much for small children to do my 2, year old can ride the rides by himself and my 6 year old was tall enough to ride the big rides this year !! Food is high but the most awesome thing about this park is they let you pack your own lunch and drinks and have several locations to have a picnic with your family at. All the staff is super nice and stays in character well

Great for kids

By saelee |

If your in Boone you definitely need to check it out! But dont drive from out of state only for this because its not that of a much, recommendations for kids 8 and younger

Boone state police speed trap ruined trip

Amusement park was ok, but the speed trap at base of mountain by state police ruined my trip. Will not come back to North Carolina.

Christmas Train

By jflan53 |

Again, the folks at Tweetsie have organized the best holiday event for families of all ages. Our grandson, his parents and us as grandparents, could not have been any more impressed with all the decorations, arrangements and unique experience. Well done to one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in North Carolina and certainly in the High Country. So proud!

Great little visit

By Diane L |

Parking was free.. you Can take food in!
We purchased the refill drink.
Family with infant & 3 year old... lots of walking and hills. Sort of bad for my 75 year old father walking.
We went on a Monday it wasn’t too busy. We got there about 9:30Am road the train first. Then visited the little dog show, made our way up and ate lunch (kind of pricey) learned later we could have brought in lunch. Made our way up to the top... had to ride bus due to stroller. Husband and son road the skyline up. Started to rain about 1:00pm upset because the closed everything down. We ended up leaving... thankfully we begged for rain checks bc at $50 a tickets we were disappointed!!! So we came back on Wednesday when there was not chance of rain at all!! We finished out at the top & the middle rode all the rides.. road the train again it was a different show this time which we liked the Indians actually got on the train! It was fun... over all it was a nice visit def. fun with a 3 year old!

Great Place For Kids

By RENACRES |

If you have good weather, this place is a whole bunch of fun for the family. The reason Incannot give it 5 stars is for 2 reasons and 2 only. The number one reason is pricing. I get that a park of this size costs money to run and keep it going, but it costs as much as Carowinds Theme Park and offers so much less in terms of rides. Many rides ran empty due to height restrictions for youngsters...some young ones were turned away because they were an inch too tall!!!! They wouldn't make exceptions and not sure what if or any danger there was for 46 inches vs 45. So a taller 5 year old has nothing to ride because he's either too short of too tall. Not enough rides for the 5 to 7 year old unless they're 45 inches or less. Not worth the $35 rate for them. The arcade price was pretty steep. Those prices could be lower considering you already pay $40 per adult and $35 per child to get in. $5.00 to throw a few balls per game is steep when everyone is not a winner. However, this being said, Tweetise is still a fun place for all ages.

Nice place for young children

By kathy L |

I just took my two granddaughters and they loved it. There were lots of rides for a four and six year old and many that an adult could also ride with their kids. The shows were cute and offered an opportunity for the kids to be involved. We enjoyed riding the train and it’s a beautiful setting for a park. It is a little pricey, but we enjoyed our day

Cute little amusement park

By cabinfan2 |

This was a cute little amusement park sort of like a step back in time! We have little ones and they enjoyed themselves it was a lot of walking for little legs so be sure to have a stroller! My son was a bit fearful of the steam train I think just the whistle startled him so up close but what a fun simple place!

Fun visit, even in COVID times

By NoCompromise |

Just got back from our first visit. Our boys are 5 and 7 and they enjoyed it. It was drizzling while we were there so they didn’t want to stay more than a few hours, which was plenty of time for us to ride the train, visit with Santa, and ride the rides. It was not crowded at all the night we went (possibly due to the weather or being night before Thanksgiving) and majority of people were wearing masks, including kids. I was nervous about coming, but thought we’d give it a try since we bought tickets in advance. Husband and I agreed that we would like to come back next year when *fingers crossed* things will be more like they used to be.

Tweetsie Christmas

By Erica L |

This is the first year that Tweetsie has had a Christmas season. We went last night for the first night ever. The employees, as always, were very friendly and overall, just nice people. In the parking lot, they have Christmas trees for sale. With your Tweetsie ticket, you get $5 off of your tree purchase. We decided in advance that we would buy a tree there, since we typically do the annual trip to the mountains for our tree. While it is convenient, you do pay for that. Our tree was 6-7 feet and with our discount, we paid $64. Not outrageous, but definitely on the higher end. Our ride time was for 6 pm. The train starts at 5:30 and runs every half hour until 10. The gates were supposed to open at 5 but when we arrived at 4:45, people were already inside the park. No rides are open for this event except a carousel that has been moved to the main, bottom area. There were carolers singing, dressed in old fashioned clothes. The first place we went was to the life size snowglobe. That was fun! Each family gets 1 minute inside this giant inflatable snow globe. They take 1 posed picture first, then lots of candids. That was probably my favorite part. Since we were early, our wait was minimal. But as the night went on, lines were unbelievably long for everything. Because there is so little to do, it gets easily overcrowded. Less than half the park is open so everyone is crowded into the same area. There's a Smores/fire pit. Smores are $5.50 each!! No thanks. Hot chocolate and apple cider are $3 each. The other great thing was the Santa visit. Unlike so many other places, you are actually able to take your own photos of your child's visit. The elves were so friendly and great with kids. We got there just in time and only had to wait 15 minutes for our Santa visit. By the time we left, it was close to an hour wait. We rode the carousel next. Not too much of a wait. We then went and rode the train for our ride time. We went to stand in line about 5:45. The train ran on time. We sat in the first car. The train ride is where I was a little disappointed. I was expecting tons of lights. What we saw instead was just average. Nothing exciting. I have went to McAdenville (aka Christmastown USA) so when I hear "dazzling light displays", I expect something impressive. That's not what we saw. It was ok, at best. There are none of the usual "cowboys and indians scenes" they usually have (which is fine with us!). As a matter of fact, the train doesn't stop throughout the journey. It is just a nice, slow train ride. Our 7 year old did enjoy riding the train through the lights (most of which were kind of hard to figure out) and listening to Christmas songs. We had fun. We love Tweetsie. This year, we had season passes so we go quite regularly. I was just expecting a little more. Also, because of our season passes, we were able to buy tickets at half price for $19 each. If I didn't have a season pass, I would definitely not pay $38 for this. Just not enough to do, lines were longer and longer as the night went on, and not enough lights.

Nice for youngsters but pricey.

By Volunteer82 |

The young ones enjoyed the atmosphere, shows and rides but to us it seemed that it was over priced. There is the usual theme park food but I am glad that we brought our own picnic food. My wife and I feel that the big attraction is the Deer Park where our grandson bought an ice cream cone full of animal food. He had fun going around to a large array of animal and feeding by hand; however, watch out for the Emus. They eat out of one's hand by pecking at the food.

Good for Young Kids- Anyone over 10 will be bored

By Mom2lane |

This is a good place to take your child for their first scare. I might advise if you have kids that don't scare easily they might get bored. It was cute and contained with county Fair rides being open and the haunted house was okay. The 3D maze is a waste of time. It is a blow-up with a couple of walls while you put on 3D glasses. We wouldn't go back for $38 each at a family of three but it was convenient and a fun evening with an 8 yr old and wanting to not fight the Dollywood traffic or pay an even higher price this was an okay fun little outing.

Not bad

By themamacakes |

We have a 3 year old so anything like this is going to be super awesome for him. It was a joy to watch the excitement in his eyes during the train ride. That being said, and I probably have the unpopular opinion, it is 2018 and I can I believe that this place still allows the battle of cowboys and Indians to be shown like that. It’s definitely not cultural appropriation friendly. I guess by making two of the cowboys “bad guys” too they tried to help sway the thoughts of the Indians being the only bad one but..I don’t know as an adult it was a little awkward for me. Either way it was a nice day spent with the family. Our favorite park was the petting zoo, and out of the entire day that was the highlight for all of us. But as a family of 3 spending $120 was a lot for so little so we will probably just keep this as a one time visit.

Perfect place for toddlers

By Amber R |

❤️ For all ages and super fun but really..Toddler paradise! Rides, animals, trains, games.. lots of fun! A water park would give it five stars... just sayin

Good old fashioned fun

By LRR2222 |

We spent 4 and 1/2 hrs here with an 8 and 10 yr old. They had a ball. Rode the train and chairlift and just about every ride. Lines were short and the place was spotless. Not a single piece of trash and there was fresh paint on everything. Tables were washed down frequently. The workers all smiled and were so welcoming. Each level had restrooms, gift shop and food service.
Managing the hill was a little taxing in the heat but there’s a bus or lift that traverse the upper area ( where the rides are geared to the younger kids).
It just felt good to be able to access everything the kids wanted to do without long lines, or rides that would not be appropriate ( but tempting) for younger kids.
The selection of entertainment for each level was carefully curated. And attractions were arranged so you could keep eyes on your group easily!

Great Time

By William H |

We took our brother in law and his wife to the Ghost train ride. It was great we all had a great time if you like Halloween this is a must for all ages.

Still fun for the kids but - a value?

By Dwight M |

Visited Tweetsie 7/22/21, not first-time. This was different. Hours were shortened considerably and they do not open everyday. Some attractions are not open fully and 3 rides were operated by a single rotating operator. This made lines unnecessarily long. I understand how difficult finding employees us under current circumstances, but reduced service quality, fewer hours and escalating prices is worthy of consideration in terms of value. The animals were fun with the kids and a train ride on a local icon is always fun. Not a waste of time but a much lower value equation.

Great time for small children!

By snowmanluvr |

Spent the day at Tweetsie two weeks ago. Grandkids love it! Weather was good and crowd was not bad, so wait times at the rides were minimal.

Only negative about Tweetsie is food service. We waited at Miner's Diner for 50 minutes IN LINE to order food. Staff preparing food were moving like snails and you can see them from the line due to a pass through window. There were in no hurry at all. The restaurant kept running out of items on the menu, so whomever is in charge of that really failed at their job that day. I saw no smiles on any of the faces, staff or guests, in that restaurant with the exception of SAVANNAH MILLER. She was the order taker and although she must have been extremely frustrated with the shortage of food and angry customers, she kept a smile on her face and kept moving. Kudos to her because she sure didn't have good co-workers.

Tweetsie really needs to improve this area of the park. It's highly unorganized and poorly managed.

Would love to see a small roller coaster added for the little ones.

Price is high but kid enjoyed it

By LHN0320 |

This place has changed a bit since I went as a child decades ago. The price to get in is rather high I believe for this type of park, but it was still a nice experience. My 3 year old really enjoyed himself. They have nice events that take place (we were there for the Backyardigans). I will say most of the rides seemed as if they were for younger kids. My son is under 45" so we didn't have a problem, but I heard other kids complaining they didn't have much to do. We decided to eat there which was pretty good, but I saw afterwards that they do allow food in the park which is a nice addition. I would recommend for young children. It's a fun experience.

Grandson had a blast

By RMeads |

I took my grandson to enjoy the park. We actually went after 3 so we could return the next day with the same tickets. I was making some Grandpa memories with just him and I. He had an absolute blast with the rides and seeing the shows. I can say we closed it down both days.

Tweetsie Christmas

By Melody42390 |

The Christmas lights here are absolutely beautiful. The way it’s set up to look like an old western town is cute, and the Christmas train ride is so much fun. I do think it’s pretty overpriced though at $44 per person and 3+ years having to pay. You can only ride the train once, and there’s only maybe 5 other fair like kiddie rides open. Santa’s gingerbread house is super cute and it’s nice that it is free and you can take your own pictures. The “elves” hand out candy canes and little souvenir buttons too which is a nice perk. The staff was all friendly, and covid guidelines were being enforced- cleaning between rides, everyone wearing masks, and social distancing.
There’s so much potential here, and I think it could make a great yearly tradition, but some changes need to be done. Either lower the price, or have more rides open.

My wife and I were very pleased at how wonderful the landscaping is. One of the nice things about Disney World is there a nice landscaping/flowers.
Tweetsie’s has really done an excellent job keeping the rides clean and well-maintained. We go every year when our grandchildren are visiting us up in the mountains. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for young children even up to the age of 12 or 14.

Great Christmas Family Outing

By Greg M |

What a great time to be had. You can play in a snow globe, listen to Christmas Carolers, and ride on an old steamtrain to look at a variety of Christmas Lights while singing along with old favorite Christmas Songs.
Had an awesome time!

Old fashioned classic

By ZMAN3411 |

Old fashioned amusement park that hasn’t changed much over the decades. I went there as a kid 25 years ago and my son rode
The exact same rides I did. The train ride
Acting show as definitely changed as it’s now a much milder comedy over the intense cowboy Indian battle that it used to be. My son loved this place and only negative I would say is that I think it has gone up significantly in price to enter. Steep gate fee for adults and kids.

Good Family fun, but overpriced - No Vet Discount

By Carlan B |

Very nice place and our grandkids enjoyed it a lot. Our stay had to be cut short due to rain but got in several things. However, one bug downside to this is the lack of a Veteran Discount. Sure, a discount is given to active military, but what about those of us that served in the Vietnam war as well as WWII and Korea, etc.?

Actually, we felt this was overpriced, even though things were done well.

How Fun!

By Bill O |

We went as a family with one young child (4) because Thomas the Train was there. In all honesty I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The park was clean, staff friendly and the train ride was a blast! My grandson was overjoyed. I will be back for sure!

Good Time for the Littles

By Kimberly T |

This was a really neat place to experience while in the Blowing Rock/Boone area. The train ride is definitely the highlight, and is a relatively inexpensive amusement park. There were plenty of rides for the little kids and they were only too short for one or two in the whole park. On the flip side, there isn't as much stuff to entertain the older kids who are roller coaster thrill-seekers. All of the employees were smiling and seemed happy. It was disappointing that two or three workers were required to run multiple rides at the same time. So lines were waiting for the worker to return to the ride you were interested in. All of the rides are a little dated and more of a state fair quality with the exception of the train ride and driving the cars. I do have to say the lines did move fast and the employees were friendly. Another plus, parking was free and there were plenty of spaces near the entrance.

Its a neat place to stop at once and experience, but not for repeat visits with older kids in tow. If you have little kids interested in trains and cowboys, get a season pass because your kid will love this place.

Great Family Fun Park

By Rodney A |

We visited with our granddaughter and had a wonderful time. She loved all the rides and especially the train ride. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our granddaughter had picked out a stuffed animal she wanted, so we decided to buy it on our way out at the end of the day. When we came back, the store had closed early and we asked if it was sold anywhere else and were informed it wasn't. The staff member radioed the office and the manger came and told us the stuffed animal would be waiting on us at gate. This made a great day even better.

Four Generations of Fun

By SilverStar092 |

Tweetsie reopened just in time for our visit in mid-July and it was a thrill taking the grandkids on the train ride as they marked the 4th generation of our family to visit Tweetsie. Only the train ride and stores were open but the price was reduced and all had a great time. Hopefully they can reopen fully in the near future.

A dream come true!

By pberrier-ws-nc |

My son has wanted to visit Tweetsie for years now. Took a little mid-week trip to visit Tweetsie and neighboring attractions! We rode the train twice and thoroughly enjoyed our day at Tweetsie. Fun regardless of your age!

So much fun for kids!

By Helen W |

This is just such a fun park! I would say that it is aimed at younger children with most of the rides. My teenagers did really enjoy it also. This is our second time visiting and the first time when Thomas the train wasn’t there. The whole family enjoyed the steam train ride as much or more this trip than last.

My family has so many different “favorites”. We have truly enjoyed the petting zoo area both times we have visited. It is just such a fun thing to do.

Good Family Fun

By Brittany P |

We had went to Tweetsie for the Christmas train and decided to come back to experience the wild west theme park at it's best. We came for opening day and what a day it was. There were plenty of rides for the little one. We really enjoyed this because at some larger theme parks there is a huge imbalance of rides for adults with few pickings for the youngsters. The places to grab a bite inside weren't ridiculous and my son loved the chocolate ice cream on top of miners mountain. The bus ride to miners mountain allows you to take your wagon or stroller so this is a great service. The activities is what really makes this place shine though. There was gemstone mining and panning for gold, the shows were incredible. We especially loved the can-can dancers who amazed us with their dancing and their cartwheels and splits. My son was clapping and hollering at the end of their performance. Then they offered to take photos outside. The girls were chatty and friendly. The cowboys likewise on the train were very entertaining and one even fell off a roof during the act (on purpose). We were also happy that they had a few penny press machines as we collect elongated pennies (although a bit sad that the one at the mouse mine wasn't working). It was a wonderful trip our whole family enjoyed and many of our friends are now planning their trip to Tweetsie because of the photos.

Fun with young kids

By ChrisC2840 |

We have been to Tweetsie a few times. The young kids love it. The train in cheesy but our parents took us and we took our kids. I bet our kids will take theirs. It's just one of those places.

Still has the late 60's, early 70's campyiness

By WSDean |

My twin 9 year old boys had a blast. They loved riding the train after having received their 6 shooters. They helped out with the problems at the fort and were thrilled.

Enjoyable

By Lynda B |

Wonderful fun for families with small children. My children love this place. Fun but low key... not a stress fest!

Kids had fun!

By DannaBanana |

Four Kids age 3 to 8 loved the park and railroad. The 5 adults enjoyed the day also. I understand the employment issues due to Covid. However the park was understaffed. Several instances of one operator alternating between two rides. Dining options limited and quite slow. Both coke/water vending machines on two levels out of water. My husband waited 45 minutes in line at cafe on upper level just to buy water! It was a hot day there should have been water venders separate from food line. Suggest visitors take plenty of water and snacks/lunch with them. But as I said we all had a great day and loved the train ride. And the kids loved the carnival rides and ski lift.

Great for children

By kathleen353 |

Tweetsie is especially good for pre-school and early elementary kids. Good variety of rides, shows, animals and food.
Staff was very friendly and talked to the kids.

High entry fee, uncomfortable portrayal of “Indians”

By J H |

I have family ties to this area, but never visited until this year with our young child. Entry fees are $50/adult, $35 for a child between 3-12 (if memory serves). Although this might not amount to much if you had a full day of stamina instead of young children that need naps, at the age bracket our child is in, it certainly was not worth the cost for a train ride, themed stores, a few rides and a petting zoo.

The train ride was interesting even though we could barely see the show from our side of the train. Then we got to the second act that featured pirates, no wait, clowns ... as it turns out it featured “Indians” in a lighthearted cowboy and Indian showdown. It was weird. It dealt uncomfortable particularly in light of the fact that it’s 2019, not 1959. Why were the costumes so clown/pirate like? Is that to make it less racist? Very strange.

I am not sure I would come back.

An Okish time at Tweetsie Railroad

By Emily M |

This is an amusement park geared towards younger kids
There are three sections that gave carnival like rides, shows, and concessions. The rides are geared towards kids in the 4-10 age range. There is a petting zoo that does not seem terribly cruel. The main attraction is a ride on the tweetsie railroad. A geniuine coal powered steam engine. IThere is a ropes course and gem mining but they are an additional cost. The park is clean and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately it is just really overpriced for what you get.

Awesome

By Scott T |

Little guy loved it. A laid back place for young kids and beautiful scenery. Love the old vintage steam engine, a neat place that hasn’t changed much since I was a kid so cool for the nostalgia factor

Grew Up Going to Tweetsie

By bcartner |

What can you say? We love Tweetsie! It's been part of our lives for so many years. We do miss Fred Kirby, but your kids will love this place. Have fun!!!

Cute...Mostly for Children

By HighExpectations |

The Tweetie Railroad story is pretty cool... Be sure to read it if you go. The amusement park itself is quaint but certainly targeted at children. The western show along the train ride was lame. The can-can show was okay, the magic show was okay, the clogging was excellent. Shows are only about 15 minutes long. The food was pretty good. But do not go expecting any exciting rides!

Budget Friendly Theme Park

By Adam P |

It’s a local, cheaper, high country, budget friendly version of Dollywood or Disney World where they don’t price gouge you. The lines don’t have rides and are all you can ride. You can feed the animals for 50 cents. The food prices are affordable with options under $4. The people are friendly. The laughs and smiles are all day.

Never Dissapointed !

By Lawtonka |

Been going here since childhood. Took our kids and later their kids. This was our first trip back in a while, but the place looked as great as ever. Perfect landscaping and maintenance, I would say the best preserved theme park around. Food quality is much better than most other places like this. Great staff, very entertaining and nothing beats the train ride and chair lift for me, never gets old. We enjoy going in after 3:00 pm with re-entry the next day. This time of the year is good for us, less crowded relaxing. Everything was so clean and well kept, it is just a fun place to be. This was a trip where I was able to just relax and reflect on the history of Tweetsie and appreciate the fact that it is still here and going strong. Nothing beats the ride on the train.

Tweetsie steams into the hearts of grandkids

By Robin F |

We took our 2 and 7 year old to Tweetsie Railroad on our family vacation. The kids had the best time. They loved riding the train. The fight scenes were great because the kids could see that no one was really getting hurt, I truly appreciated that. The deer park was great the kids got to pet and feed deer, the 2 year giggled so much when they liked her hand. The rides were age appropriate for kids and allowed parents to ride with them most of the time if needed.

Christmas train.

By SOJS |

We went for the Christmas special. For the price of tickets, there wasn't much to do. Snow globe had a way too long line, lights on the train ride were run of the mill, all of the "winter wonderland houses" weren't that at all. Our son (almost 3) loves trains so that's all he wanted to do was ride the train, he was only allowed one ride. Everything else was boring. Def not what the website makes it out to be.

Everyone should take their kids at least once.

By Ashley B |

My children are 3 and 9. They have been to Tweetsie at least twice. It is a little pricey to go there, but that should motivate you to spend time doing each activity to get the most of your money. I like Tweetsie because it's usually not as crowded and fast-paced as most theme parks. My kids and I are able to comfortably go from one activity to the other without a long wait or packed walk-ways. We love the rides, the petting zoo, the chair lift, and the train-ride. We've been on a normal day, as well as at a Day Out With Thomas. My kids had a blast both times. We will probably end up going again next year.

Lots of fun!

By Cindi L |

I visited Tweetsie Railroad this past Saturday afternoon with my son, daughter in law and grandson. There is fun for all ages here. We will definitely go back. Very nice!

Ghost Train

By WanderlustIAm20 |

I must say that I was not expecting much, but found ourselves pleasantly surprised. The exhibits were entertaining, though some could have used a litttle more thought or planning. There is definetly a spirit of Halloween throughout the park and the employees dress and play their parts well! It is not over the top scary, but certainly fun! It was fun to see so many visitors dressed in costume also. We would return in the future to see the Christmas event, and would like to visit the Wild West theme as well. It is not a place where the characters touch you while interacting with you, and they let you know that outside each exhibit. It is a safe place to visit, and fairly pricced.

I just love that chug, chug, chug!

By Brookie B |

Had a wonderful time with our three year old grandson. Very clean, family friendly, with lots to do. The running of the trains was well organized. Our visit was worth every penny. Looking forward to next year!

Ghost Train

By Vols_Rock |

So this past Saturday was a total deluge of rain in Boone. We had tickets and were dressed for the weather, so we decided to not back out. Not the parks fault for the weather. It did put a damper on the main street performers to be expected. Can't have them performing in the pouring rain. The ghost train was fun, but not really scary enough for me. We didn't have children with us, so I'm not sure how the younger kids took it. The haunted house took about 5 minutes to get through. The haunted forest, 3D maze and time warp were very short and not overly exciting. The best part of the evening was the black light show in the Tweetsie Palace. Took about 15 minutes. We did enjoy ourselves even with the weather, but it is definitely set up for the kids and I am sure they had a great time.

Birthday party!

By Sweetie Pie Pugs, LLC |

We had three birthdays in October so we get the whole clan together to have a party. This year we went to Tweetsie Railroad. They were wonderful to work with. They set aside a separate area to have the party and lunch. Their customer service was excellent and everyone had a wonderful time. Our clan includes three generations soon to be four and there was something for everyone to do and see. I would highly recommend going!

Good for families with small kids.

By Jose G |

It’s a good place for families with small kids. Our daughter really enjoyed all the rides, specially the train and show.

No rides for 8 yr old. Or Teenagers. Most places were closed. I paid for 6 adults and 1 child. I talked to others.

By D C |

I was very disappointed if told that more than half was closed would not bought 7 tickets. That is a lot of money. No rides for teenagers my grandson is 8 he could only ride 1. Only thing we could do was ride the train. Only 1 restaurant open. It was pizza not very good at all. Came at 5 pm our train ride at 9 pm. It was a long night of just walking. Would not recommend. I drove from Ft.Myers Florida. If told all shut down I would have never bought in the first place. I was standing in line of one of the small kid (by the way there were only I think 3) rides . This man. Comes over and said my grandson was to tall for the ride.!!! This mans breath had heavy alcohol on it as well. LONG DRIVE TO BRING YOUR FAMILY TO JUST DO NOTHING FOR 4 HOURS. Plus pay 200.00 for hotel!!!!!!!! If I could have found someone I would have demanded my money back.!!!!!!-----
It had rained earlier..

The worst. Too commercialized

By Faren A |

We took our 2 small children here for Christmas. We spent $44 / adult which was too over priced for what you get. It was way too commercialized. The park is extremely small and you have to pay more money to do things in the park. Seeing Santa clause was free but the line was extremely long and did not move fast. You also have to pay for a picture with Santa. The 2 small carnival rides that go round and round for the small kids was free so the kids rode multiple times. They have multiple store to purchase sweets, food, and souvenirs. They had a free bounce house for the small children. And if you wait in line for about 45 min, you can stand in a snow globe and throw snow at each other after they take your picture for you to purchase another photo later. Each photo is $14 at the cheapest rate. The train ride was nice but it’s not enclosed, so it is freezing. They play Christmas carols while you ride. Be careful, because the coal could get in your children’s eyes or yours. And the lights are set up in stations. You ride for 2 min, see lights for 2 min and so on and so forth until you get off. Me and my husband and our children will never come back here. The hot chocolate was $3 and 2 small s’mores you buy to roast was $8. It’s a total money gimmick. Way too commercialized. Not enough things to do for what you pay to get through the door.

1/2 rides running

By Kim H |

It would be nice if all rides were running. One person switches back and forth between two rides so the lines are long. There’s more people sweeping than running rides. Ridiculously priced for shabby service

GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE FAMILY

By maintenance2017 |

Went to Tweetsie when I was a child and glad to see it is still going strong for people today. Glad they offer the special additions for the holidays. Makes it great for kids. The Tweetsie Christmas is really nice. Wonderful to have a nice, clean, friendly environment to take the family.

Great Fun for the family!

By laura g |

Haven't been to Tweetsie in over 15 years, and was pleasantly surprised. It is still in great shape, lots of activities for the kids, and the staff is friendly. The ticket prices are pretty pricey, but considering it includes all the activities, I guess it was worth it. A tip is to bring alot of food and drinks - food and drink prices there are astronomical.

We love Tweetsie, but best for young children

By mrsmcbwv |

We love Tweetsie and have been coming for Day Out with Thomas for the last 3 years. This year we upgraded and got season passes. Our 4 year old loves Tweetsie Railroad.

The train is great. Best seats are train car #3 and on the hill side or left hand side after entering. The skits on the train would be better if all the actors had microphones. Today was also the first day I have seen the screens used on the train.

The rides are your typical fair rides. Our son loves the go carts, planes and helicopters, and Mouse Mine #9.

Definitely someplace to check out if you have young children and they love trains. I will say I think it is a little overpriced, but worth seeing the joy on my son's face.

Work out for grandparents

By Cre8tivemaw |

My children and grandchildren loved the park. I enjoyed the park also, except I wasn't ready for all the uphill walking. Entering the first level you can either climb stairs or walk up a steep walkway. There were many seniors there struggling like me to climb the incline. The train and shops are on this level. Another climb is needed to go to another set of rides. They have wheelchairs, but I'd hate to be the person pushing someone up those inclines. To reach the third level you can take a bus or ride the ski lift. Strollers can be taken on the bus but not on the ski lift. Overall we had a great time.

Excellent place to visit especially with kids.

By uspsdoug |

We had an outstanding time. The chair lift, the train, the rides, so much fun. Definitely worth taking the time to go.

Fun day with kids

By Keith T |

Pretty good for a day with the kids in the mountains. Lots of options to do not a huge park but adequate for the mountains. Neat to hear the history of the train. They skit from the ride on the train could use some work but all in all a good day.

Good time for the family

By Brian S |

I've been coming here for 40 years. Not a whole lot has changed over the years. The place is kept up very well. The train ride seems more comical than ever. All in all still a great place to visit after all these years.

Awesome park for toddlers

By Taistephanie |

My almost 2-year-old had the time of her life. She loved riding the boats, planes and trains. We were there for the Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine and she enjoyed the extra activities, especially the Thomas bounce house and collecting stamps for a prize. There were not many lines at all and we pretty much walked in (although it was a random, cloudy Tuesday). We will definitely return.

Excellent Day with memories and Kids

By Papa_Bear_of_4 |

Was a great day reliving some of my childhood memories with my 11 and 12 year old boys. They were entertained the entire day. The park was in awesome shape. Clean. Well maintained. Staff friendly. Keep it up Tweetsie.

Love this place!

By rdmoody27 |

This is one of our favorite places to go. The kids love it. They have different special events throughout the summer that are always great plus the ghost train is always fun. Check out the K-9s in Flight it is a great show and good cause. I do have to say prices are high especially on drinks but if you have a souvenir cup refills are reasonable and you can bring it back every time you visit.

No masks required??

By blonde38 |

My husband, son and I visited Tweetsie Railroad for their Christmas Train ride last night. The train, lights and rides were fun and my son had a blast, but I was shocked that so many people were not wearing masks and Tweetsie did not enforce masks anywhere! They did disinfect rides after each turn and their were a few signs posted about social distancing, but Those efforts seemed pointless when people are crowded in their shops and walking about with no masks. With Covid rates skyrocketing this is appalling and people should be aware before visiting and putting yourself and others at risk.

Tweetsie Christmas

By Bay23 |

We were a little hesitant on how Tweetsie Christmas would turn out considering when we bought tickets we couldn’t find any reviews. I’m so so so glad we made this trip! It was amazing! They had everything very organized. There was plenty to do before or after your train ride. They had way more lights than I thought, it was so much fun! Definitely better than expected. So if you are on the fence about going most definitely GO! Especially if you have small children! My little boy is 6 and he absolutely loved it!!! Enjoy! Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄

Pleasantly Surprised

By 898emilys |

Tickets prices were shockingly high as mentioned by others, which will limit how often or how soon we'll be going again - but we did have a great time. I took a 6yo and 1yo, we packed a picnic lunch and ate under the covered pavilion which was awesome. We all enjoyed the train ride of course, the can can dancers, the gem mining, and the petting zoo.

Toot! Toot!

By Bud Wysor |

You can’t beat Tweetsie for a great day of fun. Young children especially love the park and all the rides. Nostalgia will grip you as you watch your kids freak out with all the fun, actors, and staged robberies of the train.

Tweetsie Christmas is fun!

By Emi W |

We visited on the day when there was a freak snowfall for December. We were staying in Lake Lure and had purchased tickets for our last night. We decided to go and I'm glad we did.

Besides being unprepared for the cold/wet snow (we're FL people!) we had such a good time. Everything was covered in beautiful fresh snow so it added a little something to the Christmas decor.

We visited Santa and got our picture taken inside the large snowglobe. We rode the train around 8:00 pm and it was so neat. We were singing Christmas Carols & all of the displays were lit with Christmas lights as we went around the mountain. There was a point when it got quiet and it was like we were in a Winter Wonderland.

I know there is no controlling the weather but we really hit the right timing for this visit. We may take our kids to visit during the regular hours when they are a little older and are more into the theme.

Great day

By David R |

Have 2 girls that are 3 and 5. Loved the train rides and the small carnival type rides. All the staff were nice and place was clean. The rides are a little on the older side. But were very clean and everything worked fine. Great place for the family in the mountains.

Great time for small kids

By Shai R |

We went there with my 3 and 6 old kids, and they had a good time.
Lines are not long, and overall the park is nice.
I don't think I would come with kids over 8.
Overall we had a good time.

BEAUTIFUL DAY AT TWEETSIE! 🚂

By Deborah Buchanan |

My daughter, grands, and I had an awesome day at Tweetsie Railroad! The scenic train ride was beautiful and we all enjoyed it. We had a great time at the petting area and the kids (and adults) had fun on the rides. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our BBQ was delicious and the fudge was yummy. Wonderful mountain memories made at Tweetsie!

Just the same as when I was a kid

By ineedasol |

My two year old loves this place. I dont think a whole lot has changed in the 30 plus years since I was a child. We all enjoyed our day here.

GHOST TRAIN 2017!

By Jamie G |

I don't know how the ghost train has been a thing since 1990 and I had never been, prior to last night?! I've been to Tweetsie as a child and also with my own child when she was little. We decided to give this a try as Halloween is a big holiday with us.
It was such a great time! The specific train times is a great idea and kept lines/wait times reasonable. Of course it is still September, so it wasn't extremely crowded last night.
The train right was fun and just the right amount of scary for a 10 year old (or a 33 year old who isn't wild about things leaping out at me). The additional haunted attractions were fun but the haunted house was a little too much for my daughter. The freaky forest was just right. She also loved the black hole and 3d maze, which I didn't really care for.

There are some carnival style rides and a few shops. We got some very late dinner and were surprised to find the prices pretty reasonable for a theme park.

The spooky characters were fun to see and take photos with and we loved the Thriller dance.

All in all I have no complaints about our night and might be adding this one to our ever growing list of fall traditions!

Always great!

By Julia H |

We really enjoyed our visit too Tweetsie. Staff is very friendly, park is clean, and rides are good. I recommend bringing your stroller if you have a toddler, as we did. Their little legs will get tired. See you at Christmas!!!

Fun!

By Kmmlj |

This is a small western themed amusement park. There are 9 rides some have height restrictions. The train ride is wonderful especially for the younger kids. It's always a nice temperature and be prepared for rain. The day we went it rained the whole day but the rides kept going and it turned into a magical water park. The rain didn't stop the fun at all. Parking is free which is nice. If you have AAA you get a three dollar discount at the ticket counter on your admission. Once you are in everything is included except food. Be sure and pay the 50 cent for the ice cream cone filled with food for the petting zoo your kids will laugh the whole time. Plus they have an awesome hand washing station with water and soap at the end of the petting zoo. Must see if you are near Boone and have kids. Mine kids ranged from 3-12 and they all had a great time.

Great fun for families!

By Amy H |

The last time I was at Tweetsie, I was a child..fast forward 25 years and I'm here with my own child!

Although the admission price is pretty high ($50 for adults, $32 for children), they have a deal where if you enter the park after 3 pm, you get to go the next day for free.

The couple of days we chose to go were a Monday and Tuesday which were very slow. We were able to ride the rides multiple times without any wait at all. We had a great seat on the train ride multiple times as well. We had the deer park petting zoo all to ourselves! It was great!

The food prices are not that bad and there's a good variety.

Every staff member we encountered was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend the park to families with children under 12.

We were at the park for a total of 9 hours over both days, and we had a great time making memories!

What a Great Adventure

By Anita R |

We started later than expected, it was raining intermittently and chilly. By the time we arrived, it was still cold but there were plenty of guests without being overcrowded. AAA discount at the ticket window gives a $3 discount off the $45 admission. Active military is also discounted. While waiting for the train to return, we enjoyed the cantina and a few shops. We saw the funnel cake shop, the blacksmith, wood & glass shop and a few others. We rode the train (about 30 minutes or so) and watched a few wild west shows during planned stops enroute. We learned you should sit on the inside seats so uou can see the show better. The actors wear mics which helps hear. Afterward, we got coffee to warm up then walked through a few more ships and then rode the lift over the park. You disembark in another section where goats, sheep, emu and llamas can be seen, fed and petted. There are also more rides & food available. Then we rode back down and found still another section of rides. We rode the train again and learned the shows change which was nice. The weather cleared and we enjoyed the day. Also, if you arrive after 3 you can return the next day on the same admission. A great option. It is definitely worth the trip and admission and we would return.

vacation

By cindy h |

This is my first visit here, and we had a great time. My 5 year old grand daughter had a blast. The train ride was great, we enjoyed the cowboys trying to rob the train the shoot out and all the sites. She rode all the rides, and we went to the petting zoo. That was a blast the Emu stole my daughter-in-laws whole cone with all the food. The baby goats where running around trying to get you to feed them. At the end of the day we watched the girls do the can can dance. My granddaughter enjoyed that. The weather was perfect, not a big crowd. We where able to get on everything with no waiting. We will come back here again with our other grand children.

Great for my 3 boys!

By SoCarTraveler |

I took my three boys (6, 8, 10 yrs old) this past Wednesday. They had a great time. The size of Tweetsie was perfect for them, from the authentic train ride to the country Fair rides. We made a day of it and were there 10-4:30. Their only complaint (and mine, too) was the food. Quality wasn’t that great - especially the pizza. I had the BBQ sandwich but it wasn’t that memorable. The ice cream, however, had very generous servings. I’d recommend packing your own food (outside items are allowed in).
We rode the train twice and followed a blogger’s recommendation to sit in one of the middle cars on the right hand (embankment) side. The acting is cheesy but we thought it was funny.
I grew up going to Tweetsie so I was excited to share this with them. We haven’t been to Disney yet so their expectations for an amusement park weren’t too high.
You can’t beat the cleanliness, the friendly staff and the safe atmosphere.

back to my childhood

By michaeljwilson2327 |

went to tweetsie tues for the first time in about 40 some odd yrs so many memories came back to me as I was a little boy and went to tweetsie it looks so small compared to way it was then sure did enjoy my trip seeing the can-can dancers the country cloggers and the magic show just to name a few things to do but the big thrill riding the train however I must say the shot out with the cowboys and Indians not as good as when fred Kirby was there also I wish they would have done something for fred Kirby as a tribute he was so much a part of tweetsie for yrs

Short indoor shows

My husband and I visited the Tweetsie Railroad on July 8 on a rainy day since they advertised that they had some indoor shows: a can can show, a magic show, and a clogging show as well as the railroad ride. The price of $52 was steep for value received as each show was only 15 minutes long. They didn't disclose the length of the shows in their descriptions. We assumed they would each be at least 30 minutes long. The ride on the railroad is short but the train stops for a good and bad guys cowboy routine that children should enjoy. It was interesting riding on a train pulled by a coal burning locomotive. We would only recommend the Tweetsie Railroad if you have children and are interested in the rides they offer.

Fabulous trip to see Thomas the Train

By 8kittycats |

This was our second year visiting Tweetsie to see Thomas the Train. Our toddler had a blast! He loved all the rides, and since it wasn’t too busy, he rode several of the rides multiple times. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! I would recommend anyone with small children visiting. Our child loved seeing Thomas the Train, and he also loved riding the train. If it’s not too busy, they will allow you to ride the train more than once.

great fun park for families

By Summer B |

great fun park for families. can ride the rides as much as you want. Trains great. One is a smaller one that goes into a tunnel for a few minutes for a little mouse show. Big train makes a few stops for drama with cowboys and indians. guns can be loud, but they make it funny. food is so so, but it's park food. great stores and shops. rides for little kids and big kids. sky lift. shows and petting zoo as well. $50 for an adult, but it's worth it.

train ride

By DANFORD OXENDINE |

the cost with military discount you knock off 3 dollar per person for 5 adults 210.00 dollars, ouch, this in my opinion is for children's and the train ride is not that long maybe 20 to 25 minutes with the two stop. the first thing you need to know is the steep incline to get to the box office you better have on some good shoes and be in good shape, the park overall is more or less children friendly

Old Time Fun

By krissybee1979 |

There are not a lot of rides for older kids, but it’s very enjoyable and there are lots of photo opportunities with things like wagons, horses, etc. Nostalgic of the old west.

All day event!

By courtney f |

We started our day at 9am and used every minute of it. The price is shocking. But after seeing my husband's excitement to show our boys I would say it was worth it. You can ride the large steam engine as much as you want within the park. They have rides, a letting zoo, different shows and much more. It is truly an all day outing. The weather was perfect and the staff were all great. A few tips:
- take lunch or snacks the food is pricey
- take drinks they are also pricey
- the gift shops are very cute but avoid if your husband loves trains as much as your children 😀
- early bird gets the worm on this one. parking is the best and we didn't wait to ride rides at all
- comfortable shoes!
- screen!! Not a lot of shade

Vacation fun

The Tweetsie Christmas was the first time this attraction ran. It was great. The train ride was very enjoyable for all who love Christmas. The whole town was themed around the holiday. The show at the town bar was excellent. Very talented group. Everything was great. Would recommend to all family. Hope this attraction comes back every year.

Great little theme park.

We went for the Day Out With Thomas event. We had a great time. This is a great park for younger kids. While there aren’t many rides just a few carnival type rides. My 2 year old was able to ride most of the rides and my 8 year old daughter rode everything multiple times. The staff members were friendly. Our cowboy on the train was great and greeted everyone. The train engineers talked with both my kids and posed for pictures. The guy running the Ferris wheel told the age and history of both the Ferris wheel and park while we waited. My daughter also loved dancing on stage with The CanCan dancers. Only disappointment was the petting zoo. They stop selling feed at 3pm and we were there at 3:15. Had we known we would’ve gone earlier. I also recommend riding the chair lift or bus up there. It was a very long walk for the few activities around the petting zoo.
I read you could take your own food so we brought our own. Only had a funnel cake to eat so I can’t comment much on the food. Prices for food seemed decent from what a saw. But we’re they seemed to get you was on the drinks. $4.95 for a small soda. So I would recommend packing a small cooler of your own.

Family Fun

Perfect for our young kids(2-3) Enjoyed both train rides and petting zoo area. Would come again. If your looking for something to do with young families in the area... this is it.

Always a “must” on our vacations!

By Shannon F |

Since we started vacationing in blowing rock, 4 years ago, we visit at least one day( usually 2, Mainly because if you enter the park after 3 PM your allowed free entrance the next day!)
Rides are geared for the 10 & under crowd...but the shows and train are great for the whole family.

Wonderful place to visit

By Don B |

We had our great-granddaughter with us this time. We ALL loved this stop on our trip. Everything was lid out o nice and we enjoyed everything. a must to come back sometime.

Great for young children

By paigerenee2016 |

Went here with three generations. Great place for young children. 6 and under would seem to be the prime ages. My 4 year old twins loved it. They loved the kiddie rides and the shows. The petting zoo was great for everyone, even my teen and tween liked that part. The only food we had were snacks. Sub-par. Coffee was not good, and NO REAl CREAMER. Only powder. BTW - this amusement park is built into the side of a hill. Wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes. A suggestion if you go with young and older children... there is a seperate obscle course thing not part of Tweensie (High gravity adventures). This is located right next door, through same parking lot. Teens and tweens can do that (can even zipline there) with a parent while the other does tweensie with the younger ones. My husband and our older two left tweensie early and did that, while my parents and I took the twins on more rides and took in some shows. Fun for all. Remember that the High gravity place is a completely separate entity and therefore extra money.

Nice time

Fun for kids but a little overpriced

By Elayna S |

I remember going to Tweetsie as a kid but had not been back in nearly 30 years. We recently went with our 10 year old and 17 year old. It cost $165 for the 4 of us and took about 3 hours to see all of the park. It was a fun time - the train ride is neat, but the train show REALLY needs updating - it was super cheesy and the sound quality was so bad you could hardly hear the performers. The chair lift ride is nice and gives you a fantastic view of the whole park and surrounding mountains. Our youngest really enjoyed the gold panning (free) and gem mining ($10-$20 depending on bucket size you choose). Food and fair rides were what you would expect. All in all, a good way to spend an afternoon, but felt it was overpriced for what it is and needs some updating. One word of caution - if you have trouble walking up or down steep inclines, this is not the place for you!

Overpriced and not fun.

By Sue C |

This theme park is terribly overpriced. The park is staffed by high school kids. The cost was over $100 and basically it's only a carnival with a loud, smoky train and a petting zoo with a few animals.

Lots of fun

By Jerry B |

Fun and well run park. Be aware if you ride the train you will get soot from the engine on your clothes, but it is fun. Since it's a steam engine there's not much they can do about it. Just enjoy the ride.

Fun for the entire family including grandparents!

By Rebecca W |

Great fun, be sure to wear glasses to avoid getting cinders in your eyes. The cars are open sided and not advised to go on rainy days. The only available food are hot dogs, chips, and soda drinks.

Family vacation

By SadieJNC |

My little grandsons had so much fun. To be honest we as adults had just as much fun. Staff was terrific. Restaurants were sensitive to food allergies in the group. Great memories created!!

Delightful for kids and adults

By SouthernBred59 |

Tweetsie is a real narrow-gauge train which used to travel the mountains between western NC and eastern TN. Lots of fun activities here- train ride, complete with Indians and cowboys; petting zoo; chair lifts; shows and much more. Plan to spend a full day!

Thomas!!

By hairbyt |

Went to tweetsie again! Loved it again! Our son is obsessed with trains so its 1 of his favorite places to be.
4 stars because the actors need to get it together. Half way acting. Huffing and puffing and talking.the kids still loved it but I think if your working this job someone needs to monitor the young people acting to make sure they are staying in character at all times. Other than that it’s great.

Poorly run operation

By gordogecko |

Ridiculous wait just to get inside. Poorly organized operation. You are not getting value for your money here. Better things to do with your vacation.

Love Tweetsie Railroad!

By Gordonnr2 |

Tweetsie Railroad 🛤️ is probably one of the coolest places in NC. Loved it 👍👊❤️ Smile all day!!!!

Great place for ages 3-6 years of age.

By PonyMan132 |

Tweetsie is iconic. Have visited many times over the years with first my children and then my grand kids. The train ride is fun, but the acting is horrific (even for a 6 year old). The best rides for the kids are at the top of the mountain.

Anniversary Trip

By SS F |

I took my husband here to see Riders in the Sky perform. They were a lot of fun to watch especially in a small venue. We rode the train and saw a show. Loved the fudge. Its a sweet little park. It would be fun for kids under 14.

A piece of history rolled up into an amusement park

By Leslie B |

The history of the ETnWNC railroad comes to life when you visit this historical steam engine affectionately named TWEETSIE! Lots to do for all ages

I love the coal burning locomotive!

By Iceman101 |

It’s a beautiful train, such a beautiful sound around the mountain, nice shops ! The food could be a lot better! The shows are horrible overly child friendly and need better choreography

Amazing little town!

By Veehr88 |

Our kids had such a great time! From riding the train! To taking the chairlift up to feed the cute animals! We played a little bit of the Arcade there, and we wrote the bumper carts! Will go back one of these day! We’re trying to create an awesome memories for our kiddos!

Fun but over priced

By ssgtretiredarmy |

It was fun for our 9 year old but she wasn't able to do some things there because her size the train ride was fun for the little one the adventure rope course was great for the 16 year old gift shop over priced

Halloween adventure at Tweetsie

By Beverly H |

A fantastic visit. My grandchildren requested this night and being in my early 70’s I was apprehensive. I am extremely happy with the visit and may try another theme event. For the value it cannot be beat. Arrived at 7:30 and stayed totally entertained for three hours. The train ride was just the pinnacle of the night. Street entertainment, decorations, and carnival rides were all included in the cost of the ticket. Great value.

Fun day trip!

By Babyruth6998 |

This was a day trip for us out of Charlotte. Perfect distance away. This place is great for people with young children. I would say best for age 3-11. Be prepared to get your exercise. This whole park is uphill! Everything is accessible with a stroller. I felt completely safe parking my stroller and leaving it to ride on things. Everybody at the park seemed pretty straight laced, no riffraff. The pork BBQ plate at the Feed and Seed restaurant is delicious. The peanut butter fudge at Fudgeworks is terrible. Souvenirs are not overpriced. All of the employees were very friendly! Good, clean fun!

A day on the train

By KENNETH D |

Throwback to the old-style roadside attraction. Who doesn't love a steam engine train? Enjoy the train loop through the mountain views. The "acting" is a bit corny but directed at the kids. Nice selection of children amusement rides to keep them smiling. They have done away with their one-time cup purchase and unlimited refills. You now pay a premium for the cup and $3 to refill. Meal options are okay but not gourmet or upscale. Overall a good experience if you are taking younger children or younger grandchildren. The price is a bit high in my opinion for what they offer.

Fantastic!

By Cynthia S |

This place was amazing. A very old-fashioned theme park. Every staff member we met went out of their way to make us feel accommodated.

My recommendation is to get there after 3 o’clock, and you pay your admission and then you just have to bring your receipt back the next day to get in for free. We got in around 4 o’clock and practically had the place to ourselves. When riding the train try to pick the middle car and sit on the side close to the embankment. Also make sure to wear sunglasses as the smoke and blow back. We were able to see everything, in the park. Some of the little shops and shows were done for the day but we went back the following day after 3 o’clock and did them. If you have younger children this is the place to go to make memories. If you go to the top of the mountain to the animal exhibit just be forewarned some of the goats do you wander freely. They are very friendly though. We can’t wait for a trip back next year.

Nice afternoon, fun for kids, too expensive

By dpp74 |

First of all, $45 is waaaaaaay too much for what they offer. It is a sweet, fun, pleasant place for families with young children. Our 10 year old was too old for kiddie rides but would not get on the more "adventurous" spin type rides either. The train ride was cute. Carnival type rides were average. (As an adult, I didn't get on any rides other than the train.) We spent most of the time in the deer park. The shows were average. Overall, a fine day, no lines. We spent 5 hours there. The price should be closer to $30 for adults and $20/$25 for kids.

Still fun after 17 years!

By teresacrews |

Our family returned to Tweetsie Railroad during our 4th of July vacation week. Our last visit was 17 years ago!! Although very much of the park has not changed, we did notice the addition of more rides that are "teenager" friendly -- makes it more suitable for all ages. We came to re-live our children's adventures here years ago -- they loved it as toddlers! There was still enough to keep our now 20-somethings entertained! We stayed for the fireworks which were amazing! Very much enjoyed our visit!

Nostalgic old-fashioned amusement built around an historic steam engine.

By Anna H |

It was a trip down memory lane for my husband, who had come here as a child in the 1960s. He was happy that the historic steam engine was still in operation. The wild west story of the train robbery doesn’t quite fit the hills of Appalachia. But the children seemed to enjoy it. Definitely try to sit in a middle car on the right side for the best view.

This is a good small amusement park for children under 10. Also good for grandparents who might tire of a larger park. There’s a nice petting/feeding zoo at the top of the mountain. Ride the gondola up for that.

As expected, the food offerings are not great. So maybe plan to eat before or after and just get a snack. Three to four hours should be plenty of time. To avoid a long hike, get there early to park in the upper level.

This Grandpa Came Back Many Years Later... and Again Had a GREAT Time!

By EwanderingMan |

When my Durham daughter suggested we meet at Tweetsie Railroad to join our Charlotte daughter, and our son and his family visiting from Southern California, I thought, why not? It’s only been... 29 years ... since my wife & I took our three “kids” to the western theme park in the mountains.

Golly! The return visit sure brought back happy memories! My wife and I were soooo pleased to see our four grandchildren (ages 2 thru 5) and their parents enjoy the MANY rides and attractions so FUN for folks both young AND old! The skits performed along the train ride were something that especially brought back happy “humor-adventure” thoughts from yesteryear. And, it is sooo nice to visit an amusement park that has LOTS of SHADE to escape the sunny heat.

Speaking of cooling off... the young magician performing in The Tweetsie Palace was quite entertaining, very humorous, and the Palace was soooo cool inside.

A Dining Hint: When ordering sandwiches at the Feed & Seed Restaurant when it is really Lunch-Time-Busy... be sure to be specific about your food request(s). I had "assumed" that the toppings listed on the menu board for the chili-cheese dog would all be included. Nope... not until I had exited the crowded line and had found my seat did I realize that you gotta-ask for each topping.

The only “down side” during our visit was when the Ferris Wheel in the Country Fair had to be taken out of operation. Most of my clan had taken the last ride of the day before the ride operator made a safety check upon hearing unusual noise in the mechanisms. So my California son and his daughter had to “de-wheel” from the ride after climbing aboard and entering the rotating load-up sequence. But they surely understood... Better SAFE than Sorry!

All-in-all we had a GREAT day at Tweetsie Railroad!

Great for children ages 3 to 6.

By GingerKid22 |

I won tickets at a fall festival for Tweetsie. I paid $30 for four tickets and I would not have gone if I did not have the discount. It’s a quaint small amusement park but wish there were more rides. One of children with us was 7 years old and too tall for a few of the rides. The train ride was fun and we enjoyed the acting and the chair life was a great addition. Just think for the price, it’s not worth it. But the kids had a great time. Also, we took in our own drinks and lunch. This saved us a lot of money but the food wasn’t over priced just made it easier. Overall we had fun but I’m glad I took my son this year because he would not have enjoyed it next year. Also, if you have difficulty walking, this place is not ideal for you. It’s mainly up hill and can make it hard when pushing a stroller. The best part was the petting zoo and petting the baby goats!

Great for kids

By Kevin B |

I first went to Tweetsie July 1963. It has changed a lot. We now live on Beech Mountain NC and Tweetsie is just a short drive away. I took my 4 and 6 year old grand kids there in July of this year. I was a little shocked at the price even after my military discount. All of the rides were fantastic and the staff treat you like family. Parking is great and the Train was very exciting. My grand kids loved the ride and all of the action. I would not recommend this for teens or just adults. It is geared to 13 and under. Everytime I ride the train I can still see my older sister scream when the indians tried to scalp her.

Get Your Spooky on The Ghost Train!

By Barb J |

We did the GHOST TRAIN adventure and it was awesome! From ticket purchase to entry, visiting the park and riding the train, this place is organized and well oiled! The park was beautifully lighted for Halloween and not an inch was missed! The train ride was great and fun and I won't give away what goes on, but you have to do it! There were 8 rides open without waiting, there were ample shops and food and restrooms and haunted houses! The music was great, there were street dancers and everyone was participating. Great job Tweetsie Railroad, we will be back!

Always fun but..

By girl44psu |

This is probably our 5th or 6th visit to Tweetsie but our first since covid. There are no social distancing measures in place anywhere in the park (whether inside or outside) and no mask enforcement that we noticed. However, it is outdoors so I try and give the benefit of the doubt. There are hand sanitizing locations located throughout and near almost every ride. So, that was handy. This is the first weekend of the year and I'm sure many kinks to still work out (some rides were down and many food establishments were not open) but overall the place is run smoothly and the staff are extremely nice, especially to kids. Hats off to the staff for working on Easter Sunday as well. You made our day!

Great time

By Jessica H |

We went for my daughter's 4th birthday and we had so much fun! We went on a great day because the weather was great and it wasn't too busy. She's still talking about how much fun she had and we'll most definitely be back

Childhood Memories

By lisaframe1 |

When I was a child my grandparents took us to Tweetsie several times each summer. The train ride terrified me, but that's because my Grandfather told me stories in his best John Wayne impression about cowboys and Indians. Now I visit for nostalgia sake, but it is always a fun adventure and the train is the first and last thing I ride.

Great during the week for younger kids

By syanosy |

This place, while expensive, was worth it for younger kids (my girls are 6). They had a fantastic time and there was lots to go without being overwhelming. We spent most of the day there from 10-3. You can bring a lunch; leave it in your cooler in the car and it's easy to go out to get it and come back in to eat. We went on a Monday in June and it wasn't crowded at all.

Air quality was very bad

By Nora W |

Yes, the kids had fun! It's the horrible air pollution that was making us sick as the very cold temperatures were holding the coal smoke close to the ground. Breathing was hard and it smelled bad. It's unhealthy, especially for young kids and older adults. Living near this place must be unpleasant.

Great fun for families or couples

By Trippintavia |

Tweetsie is fun, I have been many times. It's a bit pricey but this year I went for a pass. The train is beautiful. And during Heritage weekend they give you a behind the scenes tour of the trains. There are shows, like the cancan girls or kids sing-along. The most popular show is on the train when they take you to Fort Boone. I like the old skit better from my childhood but it's still fun. Some areas could use some refreshing. But they are adding new rides. There is a permanent parking lot fair there. The ferris wheel is the best I have ever been on. It's on the edge of the hill and it goes pretty fast. There is chairlift that takes you up to a second part (also a bus can). There is a big petting feeding zoo at the top. They have new baby goats right now! If you have young children this is a must but it is pricey to go and everything in there is. I have been to the Halloween one, I absolutely love it. This is great for adults and older children. It can be scary. I don't recommend it for young children. There is a newer Christmas train and I can't wait to try it this year!

Perfect Cheese

By Stacey W |

OMG how the kiddos loved this one! It is well worth the amusement park feel if you want to spoil your kiddos for the day. It falls on the pricy side up here but your kiddos will remember it well into their teens. Mine still talk about it!
