Was the best we could do! First we found some shark teeth. And on the Pier we saw dolphins, a turtle and a shark!

We love this place and go to watch the sunsets there as often as we can. All of our guests have been taken here by us. We've often seen dolphins here and I've got dozens of photos of the sunsets. For a real treat, have a snack and or drink at Sharkey's. Do yourself a favor and go to Fin's for special occasions.

Fabulous place to walk and see the sunset! We have visited a few times and the expansive view of the ocean is always beautiful. And of course, it has been different every time we have been there.
It is a favorite place for us!

One of the reasons we moved to Venicevwas because of the VenicevFishingbPier. It is free and you could buy bait right on the pier. When we first moved in we weren’t catching anything. However, the wonderful locals helped us with what bait or lures to use, when fishing was best, and cheered us on We have caught flounder, small hammerhead shark, whiting, and other fish. It’s always been a fun time

A really beautiful spot to visit. Right next to Shary’s & Fin’s restaurants where you can grab a quick bite to eat or walk up to the bar and get yourself a drink while visiting the Pie. The pier itself goes out a ways with plenty of walking space while also providing ample space for those wishing to fish, you can also rent fishing gear and bait and fishing reports right from the shack set up on the pier. So you don’t have to carry your fishing gear with you if you don’t wish too.

The Venice Pier is lovely ... best description. It doesn’t have a lot of shops or attractions clogging it up, it’s just a fishing pier ... a VERY NICE fishing pier .... with great space to watch others fish or ... do some fishing yourself. It has a very small bait shop/T-shirt shop for those who might need it, or if you want to remember your great experience by buying a t shirt or hoodie ... but basically you go out on the loooong Venice pier (with a “T” at the end) to watch people fish .. to watch the Pelicans , to marvel at the the Great Blue Herons and other bird life, and to look back over the water at lovely Venice , Florida, the beautiful beach, hearing the music emanating from Sharkeys. Simple pleasures in a paradise environment.

The people on the pier are always friendly and super laid back. Lots of people fishing to watch and "big fish" stories!

This THE place to go for dinner and sunsets, Sharkeys less expensive than Fins, come early parking fills up fast.

The Venice Fishing pier is a great place to visit. Beautiful beaches surround the pier which are great for collecting shells and hunting for sharks teeth. You might get lucky and find a rare fossil Megalodon tooth. The area around the pier is famous for these giant sharks tooth fossils.

They're catching baby bonnethead sharks here and occasional keeper eaters. Rod rental and bait store right on the peer. Can get kind of breezy and cool, so in January bring a hooded pullover to feel warm and cozy. Plenty of cleaning stations if you catch keepers. Nice restaurant at the foot of the pier and ample free parking.

You can rent poles and fish. Saw a man catch a small shark. Dolphins were putting on a show along side the pier. Many families were there fishing.

Was on vacation and had just eaten dinner at Sharky's and strolled out on the pier for the view. It is a nice long pier, very clean, and gives you great views of the beach and the sunset. Lots of parking nearby. We enjoyed our after-dinner walk!

We came here twice: once by bike to walk the sand and watch the sunset off the pier, and the next day equipped with Florida shovels to search for shark teeth. We found four in total in the span of two hours. If others found any at a faster frequency, then maybe we were misinformed about the best place to go. Regardless, the thrill of finding any fossilized shark teeth was like striking gold in California.

Venice Fishing Pier was gorgeous, and the ocean water temperature was warmer than at the Honeymoon State Park up north. I was able to swim here, even though in December it felt like burning cold against my skin.

There was a place to change and wash off feet so that our car didn’t turn into a sandbox. For the record, the sand here wasn't the best I've seen or felt in Florida – much darker and full of shells which, for some people including my son, is actually a feature.

After lunch at Sharky's we walked down the pier and sat and watched the fellows fishing. Quite amazing to see this type of pier fishing. Not sure what they were catching but appeared to be some small sharks and catfish. Nice to see they were practicing catch and release, too.

This is the place to take it all in. Located neat the airport and golf course no need to go far to have a good time.
The pier goes out quite a way and the fishing was good. At the beginning of the pier is the bar, restaurant and gift shops.

This pier was really nice at night and is a fabulous place to watch a sunset. Watch out for the people fishing though.

We took all the family multiple times to this pier. We saw dolphins each time and fishermen pulling up baby sharks. A must see.

Good luck finding a parking place...maybe I was at the wrong place. It was packed, people everywhere, no place to park, and I am not sure what they were all doing there was an event or something. It was cold and cloudy we thought it would be a good day to go, but we just drove by, couldn't find a parking spot.

We love to take our guests to the Venice Fishing Pier. They have great food and they have a Calypso Band outside on the deck.

Great for tourists, bad for locals. There are way too many tourists that crowd you every time you catch a fish. Even the smallest fish can send them running your way. Cant hardly cast your line out because people don't watch where they're walking and let their kids run down the pier. Other than that it is a great spot to watch the sunset, just not to fish.

Highly encourage visiting pier and beach. You can rent umbrellas and chairs at the pier for beach. Looked very cozy.

Popular with fishermen, this also attracts tourists looking for gulf views. It's a nice stroll at sunset and the perfect place for viewing July 4th fireworks. Otherwise, not much unless you like to watch people fish.

Our family of 6 had a great time at the beach today, perfect weather sunshine about 25 C 80 F, and a great time, water temperature 23 C about 76 F. For Vikings from Sweden nice and warm. A complete success, especially for the ladies, the Guys seems more interested to play badminton and chat than get a brown skin.

Such a nice spot—walk on newly renovated pier and watch sunset. A must to see in Venice. Right next to waterside restaurant for drink, apps or dinner.

The Venice Fishing Pier is a great place to walk on, I don't fish, but the scenery out over the Gulf of Mexico is gorgeous, and the view up and down the beach is incredible! I especially love to take sunset photos, then send them to my family up north, when they're battling cold and snow! It's the first place they want to visit when they come down. The pier is at Sharky's Restaurant, which I love! Also miles of beaches.

We strolled out for the view an enjoyed the water and the people watching on the pier.
If you are in the area this is a good stop an the beach is quite nice as well.

A beautiful morning at the beach in Venice, and 30 minutes of it was at the Fishing Pier. It wasn't really crowded, and there was plenty of parking, unlike many othe beach spots in Florida. If you don't have your own gear, there is a booth on the pier wher you can rent some. I don't really know if people were catching anything, but everyone seemed to enjoy being there.

This is one of best places to be while visiting Sarasota and Venice. The pier extends way out into the water for excellent views of the coast. We were amazed it was pretty cool. Saw some people catching some pretty large fish. We decided to have lunch inside at FINS Restaurant located next Sharky’s, because it was a pretty warm the day we went, like summer up north but it was January.
The food at FINS was excellent. No one was disappointed. I would definitely recommend this place because you are right on the beach.

This sturdy concrete pier extends several hundred feet into the gulf . There is a shop on the pier that rents fishing poles and sells bait tee shirts and snacks n sodas. There are stations with running wAter where you can clean your catch and a restaurant that will even cook it for you. .

Must have been a slow day in the fish traffic scene, didn't see a fish over 3" caught. We did have a good time trying and bird watching.

As snowbird from Wisconsin we’re staying in Sarasota; so the drive down to this Pier is convenient. The Pier is a great place to fish and to catch them too! They rent fishing poles and sell bait at the pier shack so “no excuses “ for not trying. You will catch fish! (At least I hope you will) especially if you fish during the incoming and outgoing tides. There also is a restaurant with a great menu also located at the foot of the Pier. Did I mention there’s planting of places to park ? AND you and your family can search for shells and shark teeth along the beach. You can rent a sieve to pan the sand for shark teeth. The beach has tons of space to enjoy along with this excellent pier. Don’t miss it!

I had heard the pier was damaged in the last hurricane, but when we went it was up and fishing. Great place to walk out and look back at the beach, watch pelicans dive bomb for their lunch or go fishing. Parking is free but fills up quickly between the beach, the pier and Sharkey's restaurant.

A very, nice, clean pier. We happened to be there during the red tide, so not much fishing but the locals tell us it’s a great spot to fish....

This is a great, safe and clean area to explore nature at it’s finest. I found sharks teeth and sand dollars while swimming here.

The pier is free to walk on and so beautiful! The water is so clear! You can see everything and the fishing is great here! Go once you won’t be disappointed

This pier has fishing and you can rent poles and buy bait. Very nice and clean. There are stations to clean fish. Great photo spot and nice long walk

Brought our 4 children, ranging from 15 to 5. It’s a short walk, for a great view. The birds were even pretty friendly.

Te pier was enjoyable walking out past those who are seated and those strolling out to the end. The fisherman enjoying some time out beyond the waves. Sunset is something wonderfully magical if the clouds are just right.

Recently, rebuilt and better than before! It was great before but Hurricane Irma ( 9/2017) caused some damage, but all is brand new now. Grab a drink and enjoy the beauty of the sunset. Rainy day not to worry, you might get to see a rainbow, as the rain doesn't last long in FL.

The pier is a nice walk, great for pictures looking back at the coast. Nice place to relax and watch the people and the afternoon storm clouds come in over the land.

While visiting in March of 2018 for Spring break we were able to enjoy the experience the pier had to offer. It was fun for our entire family and the kids were even able to see the dolphins. If in the area, it is free so definitely check it out. Amazing views and such a great experience!

This is a really nice, long and wide pier out into the Gulf in front of Sharky's. Seems well built and well maintained and there is no charge to walk on it. There is lots of fishing off the pier too. Great views at sunset. MUST DO while in Venice. Also has nice beaches adjacent, but no life guard.

You can access the pier without going through Sharky's, the restaurant at its base. The pier goes surprisingly far out over the ocean from the beach in the south side of the island. The views are beautiful year round, and it is a local landmark.

Pier was all boarded up on 16th june and looked as though work was going on for a while and would take a lot longer yet.
I've awarded a 2 rating simply because of the lies other reviews have posted about walking out on the pier and many fishermen.
Absolute rubbish

This was a beautiful place to catch a sunset or evening walk. Local peeps are very friendly and shared some fishing stories and their catches of the evening. The dock goes far into the golf and has some lowered railings- so keep a close eye on your little ones. Have seen few cockroaches on the dock- not sure if they come from the Sharky's restaurant or after bate leftovers. Bug spray wouldn't be a bad suggestion. Beach around the dock is nice also- has soft sand and shells to play with. Fun to watch pelicans fishing as well. Couple of outdoor showers aren't so great. Water pressure isn't good and bugs will eat you before you can finish rinsing yourself. So, just don't wait until late in the evening to rinse off. Parking is free. it's also a great place to watch lightning and cloud formation as the one we pictured.

Love this pier and its always fun to see what the fishermen are catching! They even have a little shop on it!

The Peter is a great place to see the sunset or watch others catch fish. The beach is beautiful too if you're looking to take a swim.

This is a pleasant place to spend some time on a warm day. Walk the length of the pier, check out the boats on the intercoastal waterway, marvel at the pelicans roosting in the trees. Plenty of parking makes it easy to manage.

Great place to end the day. Watch the Sunset over the gulf. Good Parking, Fishing and great view. Have dinner or drinks at Sharkey's at the Pier.

A big pier with people walking around & fishing. The view is beautiful... the breeze in your hair, the waves & kids playing on beach. Bait shop if needed. Places to clean your fish. Fun to watch the serious fishermen. One caught a lemon shark. Snarky restaurant & bar is on the beach...

This pier has excellent fishing! Especially sharks( how do you think the restaurant got its name) to bad the city council is stupid and has made it illegal to "shark" fish

Took a walk to the end of the pier after breakfast and enjoyed the views and the fishermen angling for tarpon and sharks. Wish we could have seen the sunset from this location.

The weather was beautiful yesterday and we visited the fishing pier. I am not a fisherman, but appreciate the view. It is nice to go out to the end and watch the boats as well as people fishing, especially when they catch a fish. You get a great view of the beach from the pier, especially from the end of the pier. There are a couple of nice restaurants and a gift shop at the pier as well.

Great place to visit at sunset! Especially if you're a photo buff! Wonderful shots to be had even if you only use a phone! Amazing sunset!You can even fish for fre here....bring your own pole and other equipment..Buy bait here. Or it casts $15. per person to fish , includes pole...u have to buy bait! Lots of fun!

Typical pier, but still beautiful. There are restaurants at the beginning of the pier which is very cool. You can walk all the way to the end of the pier and look into the distance. Very nice. Lots of fishing going on. There is a small booth with little souvenirs and ice cream. Very friendly man!

More than half the pier was closed off being worked on. The view was great and it is a great place to watch the sun go down.

Beautiful Gulf view from this long pier! "People watch" as you stroll the pier and see local fishermen along the way. Dolphin often race around the area and jump for the crowd! Sunsets are fabulous... get there early and sip a drink at Sharky's before you stroll the Pier!.

It’s a little touristy, but it provides a great view of the beach and it’s fun to watch the dolphins and pelicans!

Sat & watched the sunset while we waited for a table at Sharky’s. I’m on crutches and was able to access it fairly easily

The Venice fishing pier is a nice walk over the water. Fishermen set up and cast for fish. It’s a nice walk to the end to take in the views.

Excellent view but the day we were there was cold and windy but glad we went out there.excellent beach around there along with gift shops and Sharky's

The pier is active all day long but when its time for the sun to set, it is breath taking to share this event with that special someone in your life. Also check out Papa's bait and tackle on the Pier. Rent a shark tooth screening scoop to help find your treasure in the sea. Sharky's is located vat the beginning of the pier and has great food and drinks for a social gathering or to meet new friends. Highly recommend this area.

You can take a walk, take in the view, do some fishing, people watch. Look for fish, watch the birds

These sorts of locations are naturally dependent on the weather, and with a cold March this year, this rather windy spot was not at its greatest. The views are good though, with the ocean opening up to one direction, and the city of Los Angeles to the other. The fresh air is a bonus as well, and you can get a break from the busy beach strip.

Luckily it was mid day on a Monday so the pier was not jamming with people but the heat was sweltering so bring your shades and hats

This pier is fantastic. All kinds of fish,rays and even sharks. I saw a fisherman pull a shark on the pier. The wild life here in florida i amazing. I would definitely tell everyone about this place.

Nice open free pier. You can fish for free. It is a great place to watch the sunset on the Gulf of Mexico

Came here both early sunrise and sunset. Usually early fisherman here catching catfish, sheepshead, even small sharks. Great views up and down the beach from the pier, as well as sunset!

Love the beach! The pier is great! goes out pretty far. has a small gift shop. people were fishing off the pier. Very windy the day we went. ended up purchasing sweatshirts for the family.

Pier has restaurants nearby and shack in middle with trinkets and fishing items. Nice views and a nice walk.

Beautiful scenery and Sharkeys Restaurant on the Pier has excellent food and great atmosphere. A short drive to downtown Venice with its interesting shops and restaurants.

Nice Pier. Did a little fishing not much luck. Papa's Bait Shop - the nicest man you will ever meet. I didn't know how to use the casting reel - he taught me. He gave me some pointers. I didn't have much luck only caught a crab but it was fun & I will try it again.

The fishing pier at The Venice beach is a nice overlook. It was a nice walk to the end for a beautiful view of the beach.

Best to stop here around sundown with excellent views. Can get fishing gear at reasonable costs. Sharkey's restaurant great for fish cuisine. Just a short trip down Harbor Drive downtown towards the airport. Gotta try this short side trip.

Pier is well maintained, a nice walk out to end and back. There are two restaurants that were quite crowded when we were at the pier. Menus looked like a lot of variety and lots of seafood dishes. The beach on either side of the pier has lots of shells to collect along with sharks teeth. Its really nice that there is free parking at the pier.

Great place to take out of town guests. Great view of the Gulf of Mexico. You can watch people fish, look for dolphins or grab a souvenir.

It is really fun to walk on the pier and look back at the beautiful beach. You’ll see fishermen and lots of beautiful birds!! It’s even free!

Paid a flying visit to the pier whilst passing through the area, it’s free to walk out to the end for the views of the water and beach. Very little wildlife around the day we were there, but plenty of fishermen trying their luck.
There are a couple of restaurants just before the pier and a gift/snack shop on it. Not much to it, maybe at sunset it would be better. Only kept us for 15 minutes.

At the end of our holiday we drove from Rotonda up to Venice to see what it was like. Drove past the small airport to a large tarmac ker car park which we were surprised was free. Walking past/through Sharkys you end up on the pier, plenty of people fishing & catching fish. Nice walk to the end water looks clean & clear, beach was not packed with light soft sand. Will be back next year.

When visiting Venice there are a handful of things that you “must do”. Taking a walk down to the end of the Venice Pier is one of them. I suppose if you are a fisherman this might be your favorite thing to do. The pier is large and well built. Over the years I have seen many fish hooked from this location. Not a bad place to watch the sunset from either.

Went out there to watch the sunset. Had the choice between that and the nearby Sharky's restaurant. We chose the pier. Sadly it is under reconstruction following Hurricane Irma.
We sat about 2/3rds of the way out and did some people watching and watched the sun go down. It was a pretty good time. Not much water traffic or stuff to see on the beach, but we would recommend it. There's a little souvienir stand about half way out, but they had pretty much closed up by the time we arrived.

People fishing, swimming, eating and just enjoying the beach. This is a must experience, when visiting Venice.
When you go it appears as you enter to be entering a restaurant as the two restaurants have greeters but keep walking to the left the pier is there and open to the public, enjoy.

Great place to go and relax. Take a cooler, chair, fishing rod(s) and you are set! Great sunsets and a nice place to hang out. Fishing can be good depending on the time of the year, moon cycle,barometer, weather, tide, time of day, and the color of your fishing hat. Red hats always seem to bring me the most luck.

The pier is very nice and allows fishing. You get a good view up and down the beaches. There is a good restaurant on the beach right at the beginning of the pier.

Son had a ball fishing on pier. Close to beach for rest of family. Caught a variety and enjoyed the fabulous views!!

This pier is just ok. Maybe at sunset it would be better. We visited because it was on the list of places to visit in Venice. Do eat at Sharky's while you are here and walk on the beach. But there are many other piers in the country that are more interesting so if it's just for the pier, maybe not.

After a relaxing day at the beach and great food at Sharky's you just need to take a walk out on the Venice pier. Take in the beauty and perhaps see some fishermen pulling in their catch!

The new pier looks great. They will be adding more benches soon. But the ipe wood they've used should last for a very long time

Whether into fishing or not, nice place to visit. You can rent poles, buy bait if wanting to fish. We saw lots of fish being caught. Nice to just walk, with plenty of benches for resting and enjoying the view.

Waiting 45 minutes to get a table! Food is acceptable if you are not picky! I am not that's why I did not returned the over down grilled fish!
Anyway not to many places are at the seaside, price is acceptable!

Unlike Myrtle Beach where you have to pay for everything! Visiting this pier was free! As was the parking! And you can fish off the pier for free without a fishing license!

There’s a bait shop on the pier. They have rod rentals for $16 for the day. Great place to watch the sunset! Lots of foot traffic, grab a beer at the bar and stroll out and watch the fisherman/woman haul in sharks from the end of the pier.

This is a must-go-to place for all non-Florida resident guests. You'll love the beach, the sunsets, and walk on the pier. The food is good, not outstanding, but very good.

Great place to wait to be seated at sharkeys. Always interesting to talk to the fisherman. City council's idea to charge out of towners to walk the pier is absurd. It's venice biggest tourist attraction.

Whether you're an avid fisherman or just looking for a stroll down the pier to enjoy the dolphins, you must spend a few minutes if you're at the beach or Sharky's/Fins.

I can not say a single bad thing about it. Honestly beautiful views and the people are all so very nice anytime of the year I visited it's become my # place I want to retire.

I traveled to Sarasota in May and had seen photos of this old fishing pier. As a photographer, it was on my list for things to see and photography. Due to the time of day I was there and the crowds who were enjoying the beautiful beach, I spent most of my time there under the pier. Great place to meet other travelers, by the way. HA! So glad I saw it. The beach was gorgeous, the pier beautiful and interesting (if you like old piers like I do) and Sharky's Restaurant was located right there and was hopping. Since I was solo on this trip, I didn't stop to eat there but it looked like fun and had I been with others, I would've explored the restaurant. i'lll bet the sunset views from there are stunning. Definitely worth the stop.

We walked out on the pier on Labor Day morning. Not many people - just about 20 fishermen, women and children towards the end of the pier. It was a nice walk. We were probably there for about 15- 20 minutes or so.

The fishing pier is a great place to see the sunset. Excellent view. Even if you are not a fisherman it’s still worth the stop.

A visit to the Venice Fishing Pier is a one time must and a regular option. It's free to stroll and see the beach, Gulf and people watching. You might see someone catch a fish. Very easy. Very casual. I'm sure there is the occasional fabulous sunset. Middle of a hot day, maybe not so great...

My favorite time to visit the fishing pier is at sunset then have a bite to eat at Sharky's or Fins.

We visited the Venice Fish Pier while in Venice. Access to the pier was closed due to a complete re-do of the deck and railings. It is looking great and is scheduled to re-open to pedestrian traffic in September 2019. While we could not take a walk to the end of the pier, it was a beautiful spot to watch the sun set!

We got to see a pair of dolphins swimming in the gulf. Enjoyed seeingj out over the gulf! Beautiful settings!!

Standing room only in the winter. A favorite place for the snowbirds to rent gear and hook fish and a few bystanders from time to time. Be careful if you go in tourist season!

Its a fishing pier, good for viewing fish and chatting with the fishermen there if you want to. All repaired after Hurricane Irma.

Been to Venice many of times and this is always a must stop for me, has a nice view of the surrounding beach and good fishing if you like.

This is one of our favorite places to take family and friends. Place is always loaded with fishermen and it’s also great people watching. As we are retired snowbirds, we always enjoy the people watching component and would recommend wearing shirts from your hometown area to strike up a conversation or two. As we are Packers and Wisconsin Badger fans, we usually get arise out of Midwest fans👍

Great place to just hang out & watch people. This may sound crazy but it is Free. Large parking area. Just a good vibe to be there.

This pier has some gorgeous views. My son and I went there to rent some Florida snow shovels for shark tooth hunting. The man who helped us was friendly and informative. We also bought a cold drink from his shop.

Extending out from Sharkey's, a visit to the Venice Pier is a highlight on any visit to Venice, FL. A leisurely stroll out into the Gulf on the fishing pier will provide dolphin sightings, lovely views and up close viewings of pelicans. The perfect place to view sunsets!

Finished a great lunch at sharkys and took a walk out onto the pier. Great views of the beach. People fishing and having a great time.

We saw many fishermen all catching fish. Dolphins swimming around trying to grab the fish being thrown in and pelicans also standing by for fish. Saw a seal also. Restaurant On The Pier is actually on the beach. Only thing on the pier is a small drink hut

we walk to the pier every night and usually very busy with people watching the
sunset. A perfect place to people watch and to watch the surfers.

Clean beach and facilities, great place for sunset. Sharkeys restaurant is on beach good food and responsible prices.

Great for watching the Sunset also people watching. We took Grandkids age 4 and 5 . On some peirs I have felt leary taking the kids, this pier is very kid friendly. Grandkids loved watching the fisherman and at Sunset you will probably get to see Dolphins !

We rented two fishing rods for $24 plus $5 for bait and had great fun on the pier. We caught catfish, perch and even a hermit crab ! The experienced fishermen were very helpful and offered advice and helped with a fish which had the hook well and truly dug in. There was also two beautiful Ospreys nearby and the lovely Pelicans! A great way to spend a few hours plus amazing views

After visiting Caspersen Beach, continue about 1/2 mile down the road and take time to walk to the ned of the fishing pier. Easy walking.

Nice pier enabling a walk out into the gulf. Gorgeous Caribbean-like water, fisher people and birds. Free parking but crowded.

Extending out into the Gulf of Mexico several hundred feet, this pier is easy to get to, has ample parking available off season, and also offers fishing and fish watching. I've seen manatees loitering near the beach here and many other types of sealife. No cost, a nice little adventure and no fear of pier pressure :)

The view was so clear and the fish could be seen in the clear water from way up top of the pier. We saw a turtle literally the size of a volkswagon beetle.

Venice pier is a popular fishing spot, beautiful views of the water, beach, and sunset! Nice that it's free, and there's a small gift/gear shop mid-way with ice cream perfect on a hot day.

Excellent view. Can't miss sunset summer or winter. A must for all visitors. Beach to enjoy as well. Several fantastic resturants in areas.

The pier was a must do for a sunset view! It was located just outside of downtown Venice and parking was free.

Lunch was great and you sat looking at the sea, beach with great people & birdwatching. We sat downstairs at end of season so tables for 5 was easy. Great bar food especially 🐠🌮!

Can see dolphins, surfers when windy, fishing and just a good place to come and sit and look at the water..wecare locals, so especially nice when not so,busy during season

We always love to visit here to look at the Bay, and take life in just a little. The sunset is unbeatable.

This is a beautiful pier for site seeing, fishing, people watching. It is well equipped for a wonderful outting.

My husband & I like to take visitors here because it gives a great view of VENICE, FL to the north and beach to the south. Nice place to go after eating at Sharky’s or Fins to walk off your meal.

One of the best places to take a walk and spend some time just enjoying the sights and sounds of the Gulf. Early morning is usually quiet and you can often see dolphin, pelicans, gulls and other birds as well as fish jumping and swimming just beneath the surface. There are almost always people fishing. Everyone from the novice to the experienced angler. It's fun to just sit on one of the benches and people watch. There is a shop where you can purchase everything from bait and soda to tee shirts and hats. I think they even have tackle. Don't forget your sunscreen and hat. I promise that if you go you will want to just hang out for awhile and enjoy watching the waves the beach and the people. I almost always find everyone friendly and you can certainly strike up a conversation or two.
Afterward stop at Sharky's for a drink and a snack with perfect views of the beach and Gulf. BTW - there is usually plenty of parking, but it's always best to arrive early in the day during the Winter months. This is a very popular venue.

We watched the sunset on a beautiful Sunday. Restaurants were crowded with 90min waits. Got ice cream on pier and watched others fish.

This is one of the nicest piers (and beaches) I've seen on the Gulf Coast. There are restrooms, benches and trashcans at the beginning of the pier, steps down either side onto the wide soft white sandy beach, and a small food carryout and shop toward the far end of the pier. There are parking lots with credit card meters one and two blocks away so there is a bit of walking to get onto the pier and beach. The pier and beach are free.

Great views of the water. Lots of egrets who are very friendly and let you get quite close to them! We also saw an Osprey and a crane on the pier.

It's a pier, people.. Not even one with a bar or restaurant at the end. Just filthy wooden rails and benches.

Great pier! Took the kids here when it first opened and rented rods for I think 15.00 each. We didn't have much luck fishing but great experience.

My husband and I really enjoyed walking down the pier and seeing what fish everyone was catching. There is a bait shop in the pier if you do decide to fish. The view of the ocean and the shoreline is incredible once you get to the end of the pier.

Venice pier is very busy and a great place to fish from but if you want to eat at sharkeys get there early and wait it is always busy

Venice pier is a nice and easy walk to see the gulf and fishermen. There was some damage from hurricanes but has been fixed. Pier will be closed over the summer for more work. City of Venice talking about an entry fee to walk on pier. Residents are against the fee. Time will tell.

Most piers we have been to have charged a fee to walk on, let alone fish. This pier is free. It starts at Sharky's Restaurant (also connected to Fin's - a little more upscale version) and protrudes into the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Fishing off this pier is great. We went almost every day. When you're done walking on the pier, grab a drink at the beachside bar at Sharky's and enjoy the fresh catch of the day!

Great place to go fishing. There is a little building on the pier where you can rent a rod and buy some bait. There are also stations with water to clean fish. Great little setup. Saw some dolphins swimming around from the pier.

A trip to Venice isn't a trip to Venice if you don't check out the Pier. Bring your suit or just head out to the end of the pier - gorgeous place plus take in a bite at Sharky's.

This is a wonderful place to fish, go for a walk or catch a sunrise or sunset. Bait shop right on the pier where you can rent a fishing pole, get advice or buy bait. Best time to fish is when there is significant tide movement. Locals will typically offer you advice or help if you politely ask them.

Although I am not a fisherman, I have been there several times and spoken with the local regulars. All I spoke with have had successes there with the predominant catches Snook and Grouper. There spots with cutting areas and water and a small store on the pier for buying hooks, bait and even renting rods. Always active fishing and its free.

No view is better than the end of the Venice Fishing Pier to watch the beautiful sunset. You can also stroll off the pier and enjoy after sunset by taking a drink from Sharkey’s tiki bar upstairs and take in a gorgeous view!

Walked the pier while waiting for a table at Sharkys. Very pretty views and easy access restrooms and nearby showers if you want to make a day of it at the beach.

Dad and I came down to fish at sunset. We were fishing with shrimp and caught fish (lady, pin, flounder), crabs, or had our bait stolen (shortly after hitting the water) with each cast. We were reeling in some blue crab and suddenly a dolphin came flying through and almost as if in hot pursuit were two HUGE stingrays!! They were easily the largest I’ve ever seen (and I’m a Venice native).

After graduating high school I moved to Atlanta and only come back to Venice for vacation. Unfortunately, I never appreciated all the natural beauty at my fingertips back then! Take the time and appreciate the setting.

We have been in Venice since 2004. The pier has been a great place. We have been there many times. Lately the Shark fisherman tend to take over. Nobody wants to stroll with dead/alive fish laying on the pier floor.

The pier is open and many people were enjoying fishing on Halloween day. You can grab a bite to eat or a cocktail at Sharky's right at the entrance to the pier. There is a great beach there and on the pier you can rent fishing poles and buy bait. You can also rent metal sand sifters to gather shells and if lucky find shark's teeth. Plenty of parking and clean restrooms.

The perfect walk to the perfect pier on the southwest coast of florida . We saw dolphins as the sun was setting and children were playing on the sandy beach. This is a huge pier so everyone can see the sunset.

The new pier is great! Never overly crowded, but they need more benches for people who need to rest occassionly since it is a fairly long walk for some, especially the elderly. The view is great, and you should stop for a cocktail at Sharkys after you watch the sunset.

Right at the end of Sharky’s Restaurant. (They seem to have capitalized on that!) Its a nice wide pier to take a stroll on after having a bite to eat. Great way to capture a full view of Venice Beach 🏖 from end of pier for photos (especially if you are not a local).

Venice Fishing Pier is connected to Sharkey's restaurants. The pier itself has been there for years. The fishermen love it and those of us who don't fish just enjoy walking out on it, it is quite long. It just had some minor damage from Hurricane Irma, but its been taken care of. After walking the Pier go into Sharkey's on the beach, really good food, lots of seafood and many other choices. They recently add another restaurant upstairs, Finn's. It is more of a dressy restaurant. I have not eaten there but here it is also very good. When done with dinner, you can go out and walk the beach and watch the beautiful sunset on the Gulf. Its one of those things you have to do, visit the Pier and eat at Sharkey's.

Good long pier and close to Sharky's restaurant --- good for fishing and the grandkids love walking way out over the water to watch fish and fishermen, etc.

We have been coming to Venice Pier for 17 years this year they had a brand-new look it was all redone beautifully. in the daytime you can see families, people fishing. Incidentally fishing is free no license needed on the Pier. At night it is lit up and you can see the water and at Sunset it's absolutely gorgeous.

The pier offers a beautiful view, no charge to walk the pier but it could use some improvements: more and cleaner bench areas, maybe some commercial shops (one or two), and clean-up the end of the pier as it gets very messy at times due to people Overall a nice pier that could use improvements.

You don’t need to be actively fishing to have an excuse to visit this lovely long pier. The whole area is quite attractive. After walking the pier you could end up enjoying the beach walk with a chance to enhance your fossils collection.

Maybe because 1/2 of the pier was under an update and closed to the public, we did not get the full affect. Having Sharkey's and the bait shop add a bit of character. Water was very clear so you could see fish. Even during off season, the beach was very populated.

this is the place to be to watch the sunset... it's also the kind of place to be if you think you should clap when the sun sets. The local fisherman can't wait for all those tourists to leave so they can fish. Huge restaurant onsite though.

The pier is nice for a walk out, from the beach. Lots of fishermen, which is fine (if that's what you're into), but I don't like the far end--there seem to be many 'chopped up' rays, just lying around white their parts are being used for shark bait. Sad and smelly.

We ate at the upper level restaurant (Not Sharky's). We had excellent service and the food was quite good. Price was what you would expect for a upper end restaurant. Views were nice from the restaurant as well. The pier was good for a casual walk after lunch. We did not spend much time there so that is all i can offer.

Visited the pier last week. City of Venice reopened the pier with limited hours. It opens at dawn and closes at sunset.

Free parking, fairly large lot. Restrooms with outdoor shower. Not a long walk to the beach. No shade on beach except under fishing pier. Picnic tables under roof by restrooms. Sharks teeth, swimming, nice sand, some shells. Gently sloped beach good for kids. Long fishing pier. Sharky’s restaurant is next door.

Walked the entire pier after dinner and Fin’s At Sharkeys..Was a nice walked and big shout out the lady who took a photo for us...That once again was our way of knowing that there are still kind people out there who care. Was interesting to watch the various fishermen out there doing their thing....

I don't know how to review this one exactly. It's a pier. There are people that fish on it. There are birds hanging out. The exciting part for me was seeing a dolphin and then just being so far out in the ocean without being in the water. We had walked a lot that day through Venice so it was on the route.

We ate at Sharky's on the Pier, and then had a leisurely stroll on the pier. Talked with some fishermen. Most are happy to talk.

Drove all The way there to go fishing, what a disappointment to find it boarded up with no access! Under construction from hurricane? Wondering how the other folks that visited the pier just recently like few days ago, got to walk onto it AND post pics of the pier with railings? Hmmmm maybe it’s a way to get you there, n deceive you into thinking it’s available to use, only to see a restaurant open? For business! I call it a switch n bait! Call before you waste your time to see if it’s open.

Walked out onto the pier in what felt like gale force winds and loved every minute of it! The huge rolling waves underneath provided a feeling of being part of the sea. If you are a fisherman, plenty of spots to fish. Easy access and plenty of parking. Close to the beach.

If you’re in Venice, a tour of the pier is a must. It’s not amazing, it’s just a cool piece of history.

You can walk about 15 feet onto the pier, but it is closed from there. The signs say it is being repaired from Hurricane Irma. There is active work going on at the pier. Restaurant and beach access are open.

Was very hot and not much of a breeze. But pier was nice and clean . Here during the week so wasn't crowded. Wouldve like to fish but didn't have any fishing stuff with us.

Really glad I looked this spot up before heading down to Venice. This is a nice and simple wooden fishing pier that is easy to walk. The sunset pictures here are fantastic! This is quite a popular spot even in the offseason so keep that in mind when trying to take photos. There are people actually fishing here so there are fish flying around! Definitely recommend at least one evening here.

The pier is a great place to take a stroll and look at a beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico. We were able to walk to the end of the pier and enjoy the scenery. With the beach on both sides you can watch the waves coming in. At sunset you will get great pictures.

After lunch at Sharkeys we went down the pier. It is free, which we found delightful as most are for a fee. We had a nice sunny day so this was a very pleasant experience, and a nice walk for us.

The pier is a wonderful experience and a nice walk out over the water. People are friendly and you will see interesting birds and people catching fish. This is a must see for Venice visitors.

We visited Venice pier and adjacent Venice Beach mid-morning. We found the views from the pier to be most inviting.

Visited here as we were having dinner at Fins. Watching the local fishermen catching fish off the pier was good to see and especially as they were in competition with the dolphins who were pretty good at stealing their catch! Nice atmosphere.

I was down in Venice in January and due to the hurricane Ian the pier was closed. Beach was very nice, lots of people. There is a parking garage 1block ago, if you can’t find parking on the street.

Amazing views!! Not over crowded like other piers I've been too. Love that it is easy to find and in a great location.

Walk the pier and talk to everyone else walking with you. Watch the locals and not so locals fish from the pier where the previous red tide has killed most of the sea life. Hurry back to your blanket on the beach,15 minutes before sundown and watch it slowly sink into the gulf

We loved this place! We ate at the restaurant on the pier then took a stroll. It is geared towards fishing (there are rod rentals, fish cleaning stations and line disposal canisters), but it is still a nice place for a walk. We saw tons of birds, fish, sting rays and even dolphins from the pier! It was beautiful.

Lost of anglers, very nice beach around. The pier is not so crowded like the main pier in Santa Monica. Lost of restaurants close to the pier.

I fished here for a couple of hours which was enough given the heat. The pier has been completely refurbished following hurricane damage. There’s good fishing with Pompano, Mangrove Snapper to name 2. There’s plenty of room and apart from the pier no danger of getting caught up in rocks or the bottom. However, beware of getting tangled with a pelican as they do hang around and can be a nuisance. It’s a popular place for shark fishing spot and while I was there a few fishermen were catching baitfish to go shark fishing. Bait and tackle are available at the kiosk on the pier. There are fish cleaning stations on the pier with fresh water.

Great place for a walk almost any time of day.i have been going here since I was 18 yrs old ,now 62 from li,ny . This year 3 huge manatees, wasn't sure until they came up to breath,cool sighting. A few clouds makes excellent sunsets

Lovely place to spend a sunny day, morning or afternoon. Healthy, nice view from the Pier, get to see lot's of different birds on the pier or plunging into the sea. Free parking which is great! All in all an enjoyable experience.

Visited the pier last year and had to come back. Takes you out quite a ways. Found the number of people (with their families) camped out for a day of fishing. Only problem trying to get out on the pier is working your way through the crowds waiting for a table at Sharky's.

Really did not see much special about this. It was actually a long walk from our hotel. However, the walk through neighborhoods was quite pleasant.

We didn't fish, but it was fun to watch the fishermen pulling in small sharks, Pompano, and other varieties. We also saw Dolphins playing several hundred yards off the pier.

We visited this pier for the first time and it was extremely packed with tourists. Long walk to the end of the pier with lots of fisherman, but not catching much fish. We come back again during the week and not on a weekend.

They have all you need there and it is free admission to the pier if you don't want to fish. Such a great beach and such an easy going atmosphere.

There is something called red tide in the air. When you breathe you feel like you have to cough; some days were worse then others. Maybe we just got used to it but I always noticed people coughing at this beach and other nearby beaches

Simply over rated, period ! Food not good at Sharky's at the Pier. Fins is over rated as well...too expensive, food just OKAY, service leaves a lot to be desired at both places.

We like to walk the pier while we wait to eat at Sharky's. We like to fish from the pier at night. There is a bait and tackle shop on the pier. This is also a really good place to watch the sunset.

This pier is extra long and welcoming everyone without a fee. You can admire the views of the Gulf of Mexico and Venice Beach .

Just a nice, well maintained pier to take a leisurely night stroll. Even better that there is a great place to grab a bite or drink at the beginning of it. Just drink before you get on the pier. (No alcohol allowed)

We drove from Siesta Key to visit the area. We were in for a treat, actually several. We walked the pier and saw many people fishing off the pier. At the end of the pier we were greeted by a Blue Heron that was enjoying the crowd! The fishermen catch small fish and share with the bird. It was fun to watch him catch the fish in his beak, shake them a little, chomp a little, then swallow them! The old timer to,d us he has seen him eat 8 fish before he left the pier!

It was too early to eat lunch at Shaky’s on the Pier, so we went into the historic downtown area and were delighted with a lovely little area that offers many wonderful shops and eateries. We had a wry nice lunch and were seated outside so we were able to do lots of people watching which was also fun!

We actually made a second trip here just to eat at Sharky’s for lunch So glad we did..and you MUST have their famous ONION RINGS! They are worth the trip!!!!!!!! And the dipping sauce was so good you will want to dunk everything in it! Gotta have it. Then we were treated to 3 playful dolphins that were swimming around the pier. What a delightful afternoon, great eats and nature entertaining us. That was first time I ver saw dolphins in a natural environment t.

This is a lovely place to watch the sunset. Free parking is located nearby. I would skip the restaurant located nearby. On the night we visited the restaurant was super busy. Someone mentioned that the City of Venice was considering tearing down the pier. I hope that someone finds a way to restore this pier. It's a real asset to the city of Venice.

We walked out onto the pier and talked with someone that was fishing. The pier was clean and the staff were friendly and there is a small snack bar out on the pier. There were quite a few pelican waiting for scraps of fish from the fishermen.

The pier is in great shape and very clean. The bait shop has a good variety and the staff was friendly. Good place for a family outing.

This pier is rebuilt from a storm many years back, and they did a great job. It is inviting, lots of parking, easy to walk, lots of water to see, a nice beach for a walk, and a few nearby restaurants. We will make this a regular place to HANG out.

Pier does not allow dogs and is watched carefully. Sits right next to Sharky's restaurant, can't miss it.

Making memories with friends from out of town who have never been to Venice nor have experienced sifting for shark teeth. After a day at the beach,we went to Sharky’s for lunch and were hoping to stroll the pier. Due to the recent impact of Hurricane Irma, to our disappointment Venice Pier was closed. We will be back. Thank goodness Irma will not!

" The Pier" is a wonderful way to relax, fish, look back at the shore line and just plain enjoy the peace and quiet of Gulf waters. Did I mention the unforgettable sunrise and sunset moments? Always enjoyable. Wear a hat! The sun can be harmful if not careful.

A nice quiet place to sit and relax and watch the fishing, really clear waters let you see the fish the anglers are trying to catch. There is a cafe bar at the end of the pier if you need refreshments.

Definitely worth to have a look, nice views over the coastal line and to make a nice walk during sun set.

After Sharkeys ride the beaches today, walked out to the pier and saw a guy reeling in a hammer head shark! Also saw dolphins at the south jetty 🐬

They rebuilt this pier and they did a fabulous job. It is long and a nice walk above the beautiful water of Venice. It is fun to watch the people fishing. It is especially nice when the sun is setting!

Beautiful setting, nice ambience. Food is a little high priced, but very nice selections. The staff is attentive, and the view is lovely wherever you sit.

Traveling along the Gulf Coast for years, I would have to state that the Venice Pier is a favorite not just for fishing but for a stroll. The location has an essential restaurant and parking facilities that is what you want for a moonlight evening visit.

Have lived in the area all my life and experienced the fishing pier for the first time over Easter weekend 2018. You have to fight thru the crowds of people waiting to eat at Sharky's (restaurant at the base of the pier). but once you get on the pier itself the views are great. It is a well made pier with a ton of people fishing from the sides. You need to pay attention so you don't step on an occasional fish head, watch for flying fishing line/hooks and don't lean on the railing (fish gut residue & bird poop). It is not uncommon to see dolphin coming out of the water in pairs going under and around the end of the pier. Stayed for almost an hour watching about 4 dolphins swim around...worth the trip. There are restrooms near the base of the pier for public use since there is a beach here as well. You may have to walk a little ways for parking during snowbird season. Didn't watch the sunset as we went early afternoon but would be a perfect spot to watch from.

We always made the Pier our place to come 3x's a week. My relatives will always remember this place. A must "go to" for visitors and anybody coming To Venice.

Love walking the pier at any time of day to watch the fisherman and the gorgeous water. Lots of characters!

The Venice Fishing Pier and the beach are beautiful. It was clean and everyone was friendly.

Sharkey’s restaurant is at the foot of the pier.

The fishing pier is a fun spot to people watch and look at marine life and the water. We enjoyed it. Worth the short walk out there

The fishing pier is a treasure to this area. Blessed that “Irma” didn’t take it out. Fun to watch people fish. Or just look down in the water. Sharkey’s is right behind it if you care for a spirit or bite to eat after visiting.

Very nice large extended pier with opportunity to rent a pole and buy bait. Buy a few snacks and get a chance to see dolphins swimming at the end of pier . Nice for family. Then walk down to less crowded beach and soak in sun and view. Do the hat trick of sharky's. pier, and beach .

This pier is off a beatiful wide beach on the Gulf of Mexico.
If you like piers, this is the place. I am not sure about the fishing rules, but it seems like a great place for catching a few. When we were there, no one was fishing.
There are 2 restaurants at the base if the pier, Sharky's and Fins.
Both places serve great food.
There seems to be plenty of parking. The views of the Gulf are great. When we were there it was a beautiful sunny day, and the water was so blue. Just fantastic!

Lots of people fishing off the pier. We arrived just in time to watch the sunset!!
Took a nice walk on the beach and saw a couple of manatees swimming around.
They have public restrooms too.

My wife and I got there before daybreak with rods, reels, and bait in hand. We were greeted by a closed, under construction sign. It would have been nice to relay that info on their website.

Cleanest Pier we've ever been to. It was in a great location and had a neat vibe with the restaurants and shops around it. Beautiful scenery.

If you come to Venice, or anywhere on the coast you have to venture out on a pier. A lot of the piers charge a fee but not here.
It’s cool to see the fish and people fishing from a pier. You may even see s group of dolphins.

Great fishing pier or you can just take a walk on the pier and take in the views, watch the sunset or check out the fish being caught!

Venice FL is our favourite 'beach' town in the state but we had never taken the time to visit the Pier until this vacation.
Walking out over the water and getting a view of the beach from the pier was beautiful. A whole new perspective.
It was a gorgeous day for a walk on the water! We did see 4 dolphins from the pier and there were plenty of fishermen/women (no fishing license required) as well enjoying the Florida sunshine.
We stopped at Papa's Bait Shop on the pier for an iced tea. Definitely take a 'walk on the water' when in Venice FL.
We could only walk out on the pier about 1/2 way as it was closed at that point for construction to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017.

A great place to see the sunset and sun rise. Grab some drinks from Sharkeys and call it a night! Love the long pier - it’s never too crowded!

Beautiful beach kept the kids busy the whole time with walking at the pier to see the dolphins to hunting for shark teeth 15 total they found and also being able to go get frozen drinks for them and us...another positive was plenty of parking even arriving at noon

Felt like you were in the middle of the gulf walking out over the pier. Great thing to do as a family or couple especially enjoyed the sunset view.

The family really enjoyed Venice beach the water was lovely and the kids found old sharks teeth in the sand

It is a great place for a walk, sun in your face and a breeze in your hair...so calming. Great place to to see the Sunset in Venice. Sharkys near.

We had a 4 hour time at the pier and it was delightful. It is not a difficult walk, the restaurant was busy but the beach was not. People were friendly and it wasn’t overly crowded for s spring break weekend. We watched the dolphins off the pier. The sunset was incredible.

This is a great spot for a walk on the pier. Located in front of Sharky’s, this is a great spot to fish or just enjoy the sights and sounds at the beach! It is also a fantastic spot to watch the sun set!

It was just awesome to take a walk on this fishing pier. We saw people and fisherman trying to catch what they could. We were lucky it was the end of the day and the setting sun was just beautiful. This location should not be missed if you visit Venice Florida

I have been here many times and no matter who I bring, they always have an enjoyable experience. There are always fishing and sea birds to watch. Walk to the end of the pier and bring your camera, you won’t be disappointed.

A long pier, with regular fishermen at the top end, with very limited seating. It's a great place to watch the sun rise or set. There's a restaurant/bar at the entrance to the pier if you want a comfortable place to sit.

Very nice view of the Gulf. Very crowded in season. Prices reasonable on the first level. Very good wait staff.

Very crowded on a Friday night at dinner time. Sharkey's restaurant is an interesting place. Nice gift shops and clean restrooms.

Venice is a beautiful beach to enjoy. Sharkeys on the pier restaurant is unique to see. Walk out on the pier when you are enjoying the beach many times dolphins will swim by.

I can’t say enough how much I love this place. I’ve photographed the most amazing sunsets at the Venice Fishing Pier. Truly one of the beautiful piers I’ve photographed. Beach is clean, the water is beautiful and Sharky has delicious food. You can easily spend the entire day here. Really not to be missed.

The pier is a great place to watch the sunset, walk out and see down the coastline, and apparently a good fishing spot! (not a fisherman). We have walked down the pier many times at all hours of the day. Good place for star gazing.

This is a great sturdy pier for fishing or viewing. There is a small bait/snack shop on the pier. It is wide enough that you can walk comfortably and not get in the fisherman's way. Those fishing tended to stay out at the end. The view is spectacular regardless where you are on the pier, we were there to watch the sunset. We were there during the week, I am sure it could get crowded on the weekend.

Walked to pier several times. Only place with coffee before 11:30. Can watch fishers, pelicans, egrets, etc. Greta view of Carribean.

Love the beach. It is clean and was not crouded. I recommend you pick a spot to see then Sunset. Take a chair your best book to read and your umbrella for shade. Best place to relax

Because my husband and I have been fortunate to spend some time in Venice Fl each winter for several years, we have developed a list of "repeats". The Venice Pier is one of them. I never tire of walking the length of the pier and chatting with fishermen of all ages about their luck of the day. Sea Gulls are also keenly interested in any and all catches. It is a great spot to look for dolphins and watch a legendary Gulf Coast sunset.

This is a good walk along a pier in Venice Florida. Stop by the restrauants located at the beginning and have a meal. Good spot for a drink also.

Beautiful pier with a nice sandy beach, plenty of free parking, restrooms and restaurants right on the water. An enjoyable place to lounge, swim, fish and eat.

Get your fishing rod and go to the Venice Pier! You won't come home without dinner, for sure!
Great place to have fun with your kids! There is a little place to buy bait or new hooks

On quick tour of the area we walked down the pier and enjoyed watching the fisher people and views of the beach. The only place to buy food is Sharky’s but you can pack a lunch and take to the beach. Many people were hunting for shark teeth (rent a special sieve like tool at the pier) to improve your odds. Next time I will be better prepared and bring beach stuff and spend some relaxing time on the beach.

A basic pier without being over commercialised.... nice for fishing... we spotted a couple of big rays dancing about in the water

My favorite place on the island to view the sunset. Apparently the fishing is great, as well! Some great dining options at Sharkey's, as well.

This is a well constructed and busy spot filled with sight seers and fishermen. It is well traveled and used but just has that neat on the beach feel. In and around the pier people hunt shark's teeth too. Its a decent spot to cast a line or just watch the sun set. Good for all ages! Easy to access.

This is a beautiful large walking/fishing pier right next to Sharky’s restaurant. Because of this lunch and dinner times were very crowded with people waiting for reservations! Opt for early morning or late afternoon.

Local and tourist fisherman hauled in ladyfish while we were there! Dolphin sightings are likely and the view is gorgeous. There is a nice little bait shop on the pier that also sells yummy popsicles shirts and misc stuff.

Not a bad pier on an average beach. Ranges from fishermen to sightseers. Place to go if you want to find sharks teeth.

Drove all the way there because we were told it was the best pier in the area. We were in El Jobean. Almost 45 minutes later, NO PIER! Wow, construction!
