Shallow waters even when quite far in. The waves can be strong later in the late afternoon but once you pass the wave braking point is a delight to sumerge into the clear waters.

The best beautiful and clean spot ever! Water beautiful clear clean . We snorkel and swam in the waves and enjoying the magnificent time on Maui i June 2018.

There were a few families enjoying the park and a small amount of people basking in the sun the day we visited. There was plenty of space for me and my fiancé to walk along the shady beach. The beach was sunny with some shaded areas. We really enjoyed our romantic day together.

This beach was used by lots of the hotels in the area, so it was always busy. Better beach’s but they require a drive.

Absolutely gorgeous and clean beach! One our favorites during our visit. You can actually rent snorkel gear here and see the turtles near the rocks and coral. We visited during peak whale season too and got to watch them while we laid out all day. Would have visited this beach again if we had an extra day!!

I have traveled to many beaches in the world. This was one of the best, if not number 1 for me. Beautiful, quiet beach

We drove to Wailea Beach from Lahaina and it did not disappoint. The beach is the home of the Grand Wailea and the views are breathtaking! There is a nice walkway along the beach allowing those visiting to stroll and admire the beautiful scenery.

We parked in the nearby parking lot. The beach is lovely for swimming, great for kids. Not too long, so no long walks on the beach. Some people were snorkeling near the rocks and we did see a sea turtle in the water.

This beach is located near the big resorts so the vibe is more "touristic" than other beaches that you can find driving south for a few minutes.
It is a nice beach and the water is calm enough to swim with kids so it is a good family option. However I found it less interesting than Big Beach for example, mostly because the view of the building around it made it less charming for me.
It was not my favorite, but it really depends of what you are looking for.

The beach in Wailea is awesome! We stayed at the Fairmont which has a separate beach from the Wailea Beach main entrance which Is near the four seasons. The Fairmont provides umbrellas, beach lounge chairs and you can rent gear near the entrance. We could walk from our hotel room to the beach in 5 min. This beach was great with small kids and the water is warm. My husband snorkeled near some black rock right near the beach. We went to baby beach too in Lahaina but there was a lot of lava rock which made it hard to swim however it was also nice to bring kids as the waves break further out. We enjoyed a day trip in Lahaina but realized what we had was pretty unbeatable.

We took a long walk along this famous “ Wailea Walk” one evening .. it was just too good!
We were staying at the magnificent Wailea Ekahi Village and got access through there to the beach ; although a lot of the beach is behind hotels and condos , it can be accessed fro the south end via Makena .
It a spectacular beach, soft sand, crystal clear water for swimming , and spewn with lava rocks in between .. just lovely!

While the beach is acceptable, it is not as good as Kaapalani Beach to the northwest of Maui. However the resorts and shopping centre are a sight to see as it is the richer end of Maui with luxury goods shops (Gucci etc) to match. Almost everything is more expensibe here than elsewhere on the island.

Really hard to find the driveway, barely marked but worth the hunt. Beach is great, to the left against the rocks out at the end of the rocks is the best snorkeling. Lots of fish, urchins, snakes, eels, and turtles.

Everything u want from a Maui beach, gentle rolling Pacific surf, quiet golden sands, fringed with tropical plants and palm trees and for us a short walk down from The Palms at Wailea.
One of those places u just want to stay at for a very long time.
Or until hunger sets in!!! As invariably it does with teenagers.

Beautiful beach near our hotel. It was a bit crowded due to being shared by several hotels and it’s a public beach, however it was not too crowded at all. Great place to try boogie boarding for kids as they had a lot of waves but they were not too big.
Went over winter break and overall temperature was perfect, the water was a tiny bit cold. We would definitely go back. If you find this helpful please like this review.

This is an average beach. Honestly it was the worst one we visited on Maui, and we went to over half a dozen. Very crowded and low water visibility.

Wailea Beach is very clean, nice sand, and has a great walking path. There is free parking available, but get there early as the parking area fills up quickly. The walking path is paved and goes along the beach in front of the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea hotels, among others. We went to this beach often. It is great for a morning walk. Highly recommended.

We spent our first morning in Maui here. The place was great. It was clean, the beach is sandy and the waves are great. It is close to a lot of resorts, but we did not find it that crowded.

It's shared between The Grand, The Marriot resort, and the villas. It's also a public beach. There are chairs that are coordinated through a beach valet and hotel guests first come, first serve each morning. The beach is so clear and calm and shallow for long! We paddle boarded, boogie boarded, and kayaked here. Even had some green sea turtles come up to say hello while kayaking. The sand is incredibly soft and has an interesting red tone.

So nice there with so much to see under water, the surrounding is just magical, it's so beautiful there, I recommend if you are with children go to Target get some beach fun stuff like a boggy and go the beach with it, my children loved it.

We had a wonderful Lunch at Ferraro's at Four Seasons. Fun Drinks, Good food, wonderful service. They gave us a perfect seat for a full view of the ocean!

Wailea Beach is an amazing place. It is pet friendly beach, the ocean is wonderful with all tones of color between light green ti dark blue. It is possible to see whales from the shore. It possible snorkeling.

approx 1 mile long of sun, surf and sand. Might just be a hidden gem. There was far fewer people on the beach then any other beach we visited on Maui.
Boogie Boarding...check.
Paddle Boarding....check.
Sun....check.
Safe surf...check.
Easy access....check.

But the best for all of Hawaiian Islands!
We enjoyed it but not the best for snorkeling- but as a volcanic island, they are all dark and not a huge number of tropical fish to be seen.

Great snorkel spot on the point to the left. The snorkel tour boats stop daily at this spot. Close to amenities such as restrooms and food.

We love the trail along the beach - walked every day both mornings and evenings.
The beach itself is also nice with super nice waves

Very clean with soft sand and near good restaurants. Lifeguards are close to the beach and very attentive. More than once they made announcements to make us aware of any potential issues they see.

This beach is lovely. Once in the water, it was quite glassy though near the shore a bit choppier. Also fun for snorkeling and saw sea turtles amongst other creatures.

The beach is clean and warm! Bathroom and shower is available. Several hotels in walking distance nearby to grab lunch and drinks.

Perfect location and perfect beach! Lots of sand and the beach is soft with soft sand going all the way into the ocean!

It is relaxed with this place with idyllic beaches and many green trees parks. The most interesting is a helicopter and enjoying seafood.

We went here on our recent visit to Wailea. We stayed at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort and the Wailea beach is just a short walk from our hotel. Our hotel had chairs and umbrellas setup for your use and we were able to get a couple of chairs. The water was perfect temperature and the waves weren’t to bad. The water was so clear and very enjoyable. Soft sand!

A beautiful beach right next to our hotel. We went and checked it out three times and every time it was quiet with more than enough space for the few people out on the beach. The water was gentle and warm. Lovely beach.

We loved the place, but HATED the cost $$$ so we were unhappy, it was an excursion from our cruise ship and we are
seniors, the excursion included a Tommy Bahamas beach chair, which was too hard for us to sit in so they got us a lounge chair which was still low, but very nice. We didn’t even get a cocktail a sandwich or a water and it was $197 per person very very unhappy with the cost. A rip off

Lovely beach with good amount of parking, fantastic water and fish, and a nice outdoor cafe. Loved the snow cones!

Staying at the Andaz we would walk down to the path along the beach, it was a pleasant walk early, as when the sun rose so did the colour of our skin. The water was just the right temperature not many waves so good for any children, no rocks in the sand which was great, we saw a few turtles swimming around, having fun. On the beach, you can hire some beach chairs for a small fee or a boogie board to paddle around. The sand is soft and clean nice to just chill out.A nice beach to enjoy your time relaxing.

This beach is beautiful and the water is calm due to it being on a small bay.
The only concern is a significant portion of it is taken up by the resort's chairs and staff. Obviously this is great if you are staying on one of the resorts.
In addition there are a lot of water activities, tours and excursions.
There are a handful of restaurants and shops in the resorts that are close to the beach, so you can buy a snack or use bathroom.

Wailea beach is one our favourites, but when we arrived in early September 2023 the access to the free parking lot is closed until February 2024 while they do construction and improvements to the parking lot. Not sure if any on the high end hotels are providing parking or access. The beach is still open and we were able to use the Wailea beach walk to get there, but it is a long walk.

We stayed at Wailea so went to this beach.
Nice.
Clean.
Family friendly.
Sandy.
Enjoy Hawaii and what it has to offer !

Nice beach with easy parking. Needs a clean up around parking lot and bathroom lights are still out. It was not too busy and it was only a short walk to the water

The beach is perfect. Lots of whales and dolphin sightings! Parking was not too difficult and the beach was not too crowded.

I was on Norwegian Cruise lines and my mom and I took an Uber to Wailia Beach to check it out. I wasn’t overly impressed to be honest. Had to pay for everything (umbrellas, chairs, towels) and if you wanted a drink or had to use the washroom, you had to hike back up to the Four Seasons hotel. I would personally not return.

The beach here on Maui is absolutely beautiful and Sandy. If you’re staying on the west side near Kanapali you’ll find the beaches to be a lot rockier. The beach is also an excellent place to take sunset photos!

Most of this beach is in front of the Waldorf Astoria resort. The Four Seasons has a small part and there is a small public part. The sand and views are awesome! Not sure I would come here if not staying at one of these hotels. Although technically I think the whole beach is public.

Good swimming and snorkeling highly recommended by me. Do it. I’ll do it again for sure
Bring a snorkel

We spent 7 days on Wailea Beach and it was fabulous! The surf was perfect 🐾💕🥰and so was the company! Excellent food and tasty treats, the kids enjoyed their holiday and so did mom and dad! 😎❤️ can’t wait for another great trip! The trip was outstanding! 🏄♀️⭐️👍

water was powerful the day we visited, red flags out - but beach was beautiful, lots of sand, blue clear water.

This was our favorite beach! We spent a couple days exploring the island and many beaches and this was by far the best. Parking is easy and free, sand is clean and water was perfect, just gentle enough for little kids to be able to enjoy it without parents freaking out the whole time. One drawback when comparing would be snorkeling. You can't complain about pure sand, and I am not but there was only sand. I have read about snorkeling way further out and along the rockier edges but I didn't get there which was fine. We loved the area and if we get the chance to return to Maui, this is where we will want to be.

We recently spent a week in Maui, and most of the time we were in Wailea near the beach. We've been to many beaches in the Caribbean and the US, and this is one of the best. The water is clear, and there are no rocks or seaweed. We never saw any jellyfish nor other sea creatures.
The sand is also extremely clean; there is no trash and you don't see people with pets as you do on other beaches. I was not bothered by any insects or crustaceans. It is just a short walk to your hotel from the beach. Restrooms are slightly off the beach as are showers.
There are no lifeguards, and some of the resorts have limited, free, beach chairs.

So my wife and I stayed at the Marriott here and loved it. We brought our own snorkel masks and put them to good use. This beach is great for beginners or young kids and there were no swells. Visibility was good and many turtles were spotted.

This is such a relaxing beach, I would’ve stayed there the whole day if I had the chance. The sand was so soft, almost like brown sugar. I seriously couldn’t stop feeling how soft it was- it was almost therapeutic. The views were amazing with cliffs on one side and a mountain on the other. There was a parking lot specifically for the beach. Washing stations and bathrooms were available.

The beach is clear and not crowded. There were plenty of toys to rent like stand up paddle boards, snorkel gear, and bogie boards. The only thing that would make it a 5 star would be to have service for food and beverages beachside. Seems the hotels could maybe split the revenue or something.

Our favorite of all the beaches we visited... and we visited most beaches on Maui. Plenty of fish, coral and turtles to see. If you like snorkeling, don't miss this. The beach is a few hundred yards wide, but the best place to snorkel is to the right edge as you stand on the beach. The best time is the morning, because the afternoon winds pick up the surf and make it difficult to stay steady in the water.

Very nice. Good snorkeling. Nice sand. Bathrooms nearby. Walking path.
Nice free parking. Arrive before 10:30 and there should be room.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful beach. The sand was so soft. We loved how when you were in the water you were still standing on soft sand. There weren’t any rocks that we came across. The view is stunning. A must go!

Just wrapped a week on Maui with most of our time spent snorkeling in and our Wailea Beach and Wailea Point. The ease of beach access, gentle surf, and reef gave us near-perfect conditions.
A must-do is a visit to Wailea Beach.

This has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! It is amazing sand, beautiful water. People were enjoying the beach - it seemed more protected that many of the other Hawaiian beaches.

We stayed at the Grand Wailea by Waldorf Astoria Hotel. It is on the expensive side but really well worth the splurge if you want a fantastic vacation. I could go on and on about the hotel but you want to know about the beach, so, the beach has limited access by anyone not staying at the hotel but that doesn’t mean it is secluded. The hotel is huge so you can imagine the rest.

Yet another of Maui's Incredible Beaches. We absolutely adore Maui and it's Incredibly Beautiful Beaches. This is Maui at it's Finest, Enjoy.

Very nice beach with the added bonus of being near the Grand Wailea Hotel which has an excellent outside appearance and good architecture.

We stayed at the Grand Wailea - and the beach is just great. I loved snorkeling on the right side amongst the coral, saw tons of fish and turtles, octopus, eels, etc right there. I also scuba dived along this reef in a shallow dive.
The GW really takes cares of the beach and the guests here!

Beautiful beach with warm water. Right in front of our hotel (Waldorf Astoria). Thoroughly enjoyed because it was whale birthing season and we could see them from the shore/restaurant.

Primarily for the guests of the hotels that line the shore. This keeps the crowds under control and the beach clean. You can rent water sports from any hotel kiosk as well as buy food and beverages.
Very popular is the paved 3+ mile path along the shoreline. Snorkeling is good along the rocks and turtles are abundant at “turtle town” just off shore between the Grand Wailea and Kea Lani. Just don’t go when the tour boats anchor after their stop at Molokini, it’s a zoo.
Have fun

Beautiful part of Maui. Great shopping centers and homes. Beaches are incredible especially the Big Beach which has the biggest waves on the island.

We love this beach and the water temperature. The views are unbeatable and the sand is soft. With all the hotels around it’s easy to get a meal or a drink. It also has free public parking. It is a smaller family friendly beach.

Stayed at the Residence Inn 5 nights and were at the Wailea beach almost daily to enjoy the sunsets. The beach path is very nice with numerous places to stop and take photos. Several nice sandy sections of beach to enjoy as well.

Easy surf. Decent snorkeling on each side. Nice walking/jogging path next to the beach. Lots of fun for kids. For the best snorkeling, turn right and walk up one more beach.

We enjoyed spending relaxing time on Wailea Beach. Hotel Wailea concierge staff provide a 4-star service, with lounge chairs, water, towels and rentals.

This is one of many beautiful beaches in the area. What makes this beach special is the ability to do some great snorkeling.

Clear blue water and small waves make it great for kids. My 5 year old enjoyed the waves and seeing small fish swim by.

By far the most beautiful beach we’ve stayed on. The views were amazing, the sand was so soft, clear blue waters, and sea turtles passing by! We spent most days on the beach, including a few nights listening to the waves and looking at the moon. Also, hardly anyone on the beach at night.

Beautiful beach. Great for swimming with family/kids. Food is not offered near here so bring food and drinks.

This beach is big with a gentle surf and great snorkeling. We found turtles and all sorts of tropical fish.

It’s about 700 metres long and has a great snorkel reef to the left. You can rent paddle boards and sea kayaks. Guests from the hotels can go out with a guide in the large catamaran canoe. The surf can be like a lake very calm and easy to relax or a little active with a lot of kids having fun boogie boarding in the surf. We generally find this beach to be excellent most times.

Soft sand beach, surf is not too rough... good relaxing beach between the Marriott and Four Seasons hotels.
This is a County beach so there are no fees and plenty of free parking. Watch for the sign as it is easy to miss the entrance (by design?). If the top parking lot is filled there is plenty of parking below (to the left as you drive in).

Perfect beach for playing. Body surfing. Paddle. Anything. It’s gorgeous. If you are at Marriott they have first come first serve.

We love this beach! Take the left path at the beach walkway and it's a shorter distance to find your spot on the sand. Excellent waves for body surfing and boogie boarding. We had a sea turtle swim right past us twice as we were playing in the ocean just beyond the surf break. Just amazing. Good snorkeling to the North along rocks. Nice facilities with shower and rest room between beach path and parking lot.

The beaches at Wailea, Maui can't be beat anywhere. Starting at Keawakapu, by the Mana Kai, you can walk all the way to Polo Beach in front of the Kea Lani Hotel, passing luxury hotels and private mansions on the way. Where each beach ends there is a walkway to the next one. Some are good for snorkeling, most for swimming. Unlike Waikiki and others, the sand is soft and the view encompasses islands, passing boats and the tropical sunsets.

We were guests at the Hotel Wailea, so we had beach chair service, which is very nice. It was crowded due to the Christmas Holiday crowd; however, the beach is very nice and clean.

Wide sandy beach with calm, warm, clear blue water. Lots of fish to see near the rocks. Two issues: Parking is limited so come early and beach is used by several hotels and they set up chaise lounges in best spots, hogging the waterfront.

Just amazing and beautiful no other description needed! We have visited 2x and hope for many more visits here in the near future

Nice family beach. Nothing to write home about though. Extensive sand area and water is nice and warm. Lots of sea animals around (turtles, octopus, fish) so definitely a good place to try to find cute little sea animals.

A nice beach but very crowded. It is used by multiple hotels and the public so crowded and very active. It is not as restful as other beaches. There are bathrooms by parking.
I was actually disappointed but nice views. Very tourist heavy just as we are tourists.
Nice people and friendly.

Very nice beach where the sand was nice and soft. I didn't even have to wear water socks while in the water at this beach as I didn't have to worry about the coral reef cutting up my toes.

Loved this beach! It's just beautiful. It's a great spot to snorkel, SUP, and swim. Loved having this beach right next to our hotel.

Softest, finest sand, clear greenish blue waters, great waves for boogie boarding. No shade, and it was windy so our umbrella wouldn’t stay up but it didn’t really stay up at other beaches either due to the wind. Love the warm water and the beauty of this place. Not too crowded when we went.

Soft sand, big broad beach. Can get busy, we tried snorkeling but didn't see much. We always saw turtles swimming near us.

One of the "must do" beach of Maui along with Kanapali and Big Beach. This one is by far usually the most calmest and kid friendly in my opinion. It can be windy at times, but still, awesome!

It is breath-holding view you can imagine..
relaxing- almost heaven on earth.
Especially the view from The Four Seasons resort.

You don't need to stay at the Four Seasons or the Grand Wailea to access this gorgeous strip of beach. Simply take the Wailea Beach exit off the road (just south of the south entry to Grand Wailea past their staff parking) down to the paved parking lot. Washrooms and showers available onsite at this public park. There's a great spot to set up in the shade if you wish just on the beach to the right. The public area is nestled in the perfect spot between the two hotel guest areas. Our family fave!

We went to this beach for a little boogie boarding and snorkelling. Although you could get a good wave to ride, they were very rough. It was fun but if you are looking for a place to relax in the water, this is not it. The beach is beautiful!

Wailea Beach ended up being our favorite beach on the island! Kids did hours and hours of boogie boarding. Not crazy busy and the beach is big enough even if it is busy. We’ll definitely be back someday!

One of the most beautiful beaches ever!! Giant sea turtles right there.... swim with them!... and enjoy the perfect sand!!

This one is a gem of a beach for the whole family. If you are learning to snorkel you can find fish on the edges towards the rocks and for advanced you can swim out a bit and get a much better view.

Because this beach is by the resorts and has calmer waters, it is quite busy with lots of families. Would recommend if you're looking for a beach to relax at all day!

Beach was easy to get to and the Water was perfect.
You can rent Umbrellas and Lounge / Beach Chairs for a small fee but well worth it. Highly Recommend this Beach

This is a beautiful beach, however it is located just in front of several high end resorts. Even though all beaches in Hawaii must be accessible to.The public, this one can get very busy with guests from the nearby resorts. There are other options nearby that are just and nice and less crowded

Easy access..nice long beach for walking, water shallow for a distance, parking available lots of flat areas to stretch out and get a great tan

Solid snorkeling right of the very beautiful beach. Saw multiple turtles off the side in front of the four seasons.

One of the best beaches. Clean, lots and lots and lots of coral reefs and a plethora of sea turtles. Loved every second

This is a small beach accessed by seveeal large resorts. It is not intimate, with no real way to get away from the masses. It has a nice view and is convenient to get to. For a better beach experience, go 10 minutes south to Makena Beach, which is ideal.

This was the most scenic beach I visited in Hawaii! There is a shopping center and eatery nearby! I’d do it again!

Recently, on our trip to Maui, my husband and I visited Wailea Beach since we were staying in the area. It is not a very large beach, but it is beautiful! It almost feels like a private beach. Nice sandy bottom and turquoise waters. The currents and waves can be a little strong. The beach was not crowded, and was very relaxing. Would definitely go back!

This beach will not disappoint. The grand Wailea and 4 seasons are all on the beach, but even during thanksgiving week it didn’t seem that crazy. It’s a beautiful beach and there’s lots to do - canoeing kayaking paddle boarding and of course snorkeling! We saw lots of fish and sea turtles. If paddle boarding best to go early, the wind picks up late morning.

If you are staying at the Grand Wailea or Four Seasons, good for you because this is the most awesome beach. If not (we weren't) be sure to bring beach chairs & umbrella. There is plenty of parking and restrooms to change into your swimsuit. Beautiful golden sand with black ribbons, sea turtles visiting, nice swimming. Pretty, pretty, this is what Maui is all about. Don't forget the sunscreen!

This is a really clean and laid back beach with restrooms, faucets and really close to many of the hotels in Wailea. There are few large trees for shade and ample places to put up an umbrella and chair. We saw a lot of people snorkeling near the shore and leaving from the beach to head out further on different snorkeling tours. The beach is super clean with a mix of families and surfers.

Beautiful white sand. Consistently perfect weather. Clear waters. Peaceful.
This is a beach to visit.

Firx3t time back this year nice beach can get busy parking ok be there early gpod for beach activities clean and nice for walking.

Watching the sun go down, whilst munching on Subway sandwiches! Fabulous stretch of beach, definitely recommend.

No waves, so good for swimming. The closest parking lot is very small, but there is a larger lot nearby. The bathroom is dark and tiny, so change somewhere else if you can. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off.

Beaches here are rich in color and soft on the feet. Coastline very rocky so be careful where you set up. Water was a little cool. A must do if you visit Maui.

We took our children and grandchildren to Wailea beach on February 22. It was beautiful. The sand is soft and the waves are perfect for boogie boarding but not too big for small children. We had a fantastic day. Our grandchildren range in age from seven years to 10 months. We also have teenagers and kids in their 20s. This beach was enjoyed by all. There are paths right to the beach. Parking can always be a problem but we found a spot close to a path. We were not staying in any of the resorts. There are also showers and bathrooms.

Easy walk when you stay at the Grand Wailea. If you stay at GW the lounge chairs and umbrellas are free you just need to sign up for them and they will set it up for you. I have heard it is good for snorkeling near the rocks but we didn’t go.

Beautiful location. High end experience. Mekeina surf is the best condo complex- we airbnb, would always come back to this condo complex.

This was a beautiful white sandy beach not too far from Waikoloa Resort Village. It is often referred to as Beach 69 by the locals, as it is situated close to the 69th power pole.
The beach is beautiful, there is plenty of shade available, and the waters are good for snorkeling and scuba diving. When we were there, the waters were not totally calm, but not rough enough for body surfing.
Four of the adults in our party were standing together in 4 feet of water when one of them noticed a big turtle swimming about 3 feet behind him-- that was a bit of a surprise!!
There are washrooms and shower facilities available, but no lifeguards on duty. Recommended for families.

Lots of vegetation neat the beach, flat and a great walk in either direction. There is a coastal path up from the beach and you can see all the big hotels including : Andaz, Grand Wailea, The four Seasons and the Fairmont,.

Its really hard not to give this beach a five star review but its just over crowed with all the resort chairs blocking the path to the water.

The beach is great. I snorkeled it twice, both sides of the beach have interesting fish and undersea life to see. Best to go early in the morning, as the waves pick up in the afternoon.

Beautiful, calm and clean white sand beach. Not packed with people. Easy to find parking and safe. Good place for sun bathing, snorkeling and don't forget to pack your lunch and drink to enjoy the nice view of the the sea and sand.

In my mind, this is the best beach in Maui. There are not many activities here, but the natural beauty and climate of the area make it special.

We spent days at Wailea Beach, Kaanapali Beach and Waikiki Beach on Oahu. I very much enjoyed Wailea. The area around the beach is so cool to walk around. I love looking at the high end resorts that I can't stay at! tha great parking lot just past the Grand Wailea Resort off of Wailea Alanui Drive on the right. Look for the public access signs. Remember that the state requires the resorts to maintain some public parking and beach access. I would try and park by around 9 am or 9:30. The beach access next to the Grand Wailea is so convenient. The trade winds were high that day so as the morning ended and the afternoon started the winds really pickred up. The water was really nice in the morning but got a bit rough in the afternoon. We ate dinner at the Four Seasons overlooking the beach and it was absolutely stunning! I really liked the area and the setup there.

The beach itself stretches far down but it is not very deep. However if you love to snorkel this is the beach to do it! We seen gorgeous fish and even sea turtles!!

By all the five star resorts sits this stunning beach where turtles come to sunbathe and ultimate vacation dreams come true

Very nice beach. There were pretty big waves but once toy swam out a little bit to get past them the water was calm. A sea turtle swam within feet of us so that was very cool. There is a bar where you can get adult beverages, and chairs you can rent if you don't want to lay directly on the sand. There were people renting paddle boards and boats so there are a ton of water activities available.

This is one of the best beaches for walking and swimming in South Maui. There are several hotels above the beach but they do not deter from the experience. It is a longer beach, connected by the coastal sidewalk to Ulua Beach to the north and Polo Beach to the south. There is public access parking just south of the Grand Wailea Hotel. There is a public bathroom and shower. The snorkeling from the south end of Wailea Beach to the north end of Polo Beach is very good. Best to start at Polo; get out at Wailea, and walk the path back to Polo. There is some shade on the south end.

We stopped to walk the beach its smaller than I thought and busy but worth the stop.
Would like to have stayed longer

We spend a few days in Maui and visited multiple beaches, this was one of our favorites... perfect for snorkeling, clean and easy to access, the beach is also next to a resort so you can have access to food and drinks easier than in other beaches..

This was my favorite beach in Maui! The sand is super fine and soft and the waves are nice and mild. It's a decent sized beach but it does get crowded. We came here twice - one day the water was perfectly calm and clear. We swam over to the rocks on the left side to snorkel and it was pretty cool. The current is definitely stronger over there, so be careful. We saw a decent number of fish, but we also saw a sea turtle that swam right by us. So beautiful!
The second day the weather was a little iffy so the waves were slightly bigger and the water was a little more choppy but still absolutely fine to swim or just to float and relax, enjoying the beautiful scenery around you! I highly recommend this beach!

The walkway along Wailea Beach offers breathtaking views of the Maui coast. Whether on an a quick walk or quiet stroll, the beauty of the area abounds.

This beach was ok easy to find parking water was really warm not as clear. The beach was covered in resort spots with reserved spaces so finding a good spot may be difficult. Parking in not that bad compared to other beaches

We stayed at the Marriott so this beach was 3 min walk to the south. We've rented the simple snorkel gears from the hotel and hit the beach. The water was calm and when you swim out to the right along the rocky shore, you will see the coral reef and tons of fish. We also saw few turtles. It's best to snorkel in the morning to early afternoon to experience the calm waters. In the late afternoon it becomes more windy and water choppy.

We had a fantastic time! Kids love the menu, was a trip to remember. Tons of awesome snacks and things to keep the kids busy with

Awesome beach, water sports available, snorkelling by the rocks is really good plenty of fish to be seen.
There a restaurant a short walk down the beach and a snack shop close by. Life guards on duty, although it was busy this day the beach was very clean. Restrooms a short walk

Overall a nice beach to relax at. It can get a little crowded simply due to its central location between several resorts but it’s also large enough to where you get space. If
You are staying at either the Grand Wailea or Marriot, you have lounge chairs available as well.

Whatever you like to do, the beach here was great! There is a good sized parking lot for beach access. The grounds and restrooms were spotless as the crew works hard to preserve it. Do your part by not entering the ocean with regular suntan lotions on your skin, the chemicals damage the reef and fish. Best thing to do is buy yourself a
UV shirt with long sleeves. No suntan lotion needed🐠

You have to walk down rocks to get to the beach bit once you are tbere, it is nice. You have to go down a narrow path, then climb down rocks to get to the beach. You cant just walk on it

It’s a lot of little kids (and noise) and the people there all are from the surrounding resorts. Not exactly pretty cliffs and the water wasn’t clear. Sand was soft. I recommend it for families.

nice beach and the reef is to the right, in the very shallow water on can start snorkeling and seeing lots of sea life, one can swim and short way out to bigger and deeper water. very safe for all ages. be sure to apply defogging to mask. swam with three sea turtles.

We stayed at the Marriott, and spent many days here. Gorgeous sand, waves were perfect for bodyboarding, and we saw dolphins a few times.

Wailea Falls. It’s a beautiful falls…a “5” for sure, but I only give it a 4 star rating because you can’t hike down to the base and enjoy it. You literally pull up to a parking spot and look over a guard rail and see it for about 10 minutes, take a selfie and leave. The area is not even open for a picnic lunch. So it’s a must do view, but you won’t stay here long.

Nice beach, local, easy access. Gentle waves the day we visited. Would go again. No bathrooms, although chemical

This is a pretty crowded but beautiful beach. The water is super clear, and there's great snorkeling just a short swim from the beach.

Very beautiful beach in Maui. Highly recommended. Seems like its very clean and well maintained by local resorts in the area.

Great for families and couples alike. Beautiful beach in Maui... the waves can get a little high but that didn't stop little kids from going out pretty far.

Theres no continuous beach in Wailea, but in smaller parts, in front of hotels that adorn the coastal line. Some of them being used for Yoga in the morning, and others for water sports. The climate, white sands, fresh air, and the aroma of plants growing by the beach side, all that makes the beaches enjoyable-like a wow!

We had access to this public beach when we stayed at the Four Seasons so we would take a morning walk and also spent part of one of our days hanging out there. The water is not too rough as it is protected a little by the cove. The sand is very soft and there are places that you can get some shade under a tree. Keep in mind it is the beach for 4 area properties so you will see areas with umbrellas and chairs but that is for the hotel guests only. So you will have to bring your own things if you want those amenities or a place to sit.

We visited this beach several times during our vacation. On Monday's it was overrun with passengers from the NCL Pride cruise ship that visits Maui. The beach is wide, but it is narrow from the land to water's edge. There is a large parking lot (free) on your right just after you turn onto the access road, but it's a bit of a walk to the beach, especially if you are lugging beach gear. You can drive all the way down on the access road where you find a circle area where you can unlad, then go back and park your car. Just off the circle area, there are public restooms, outdoor showers, and a paved path. Follow the path to the left to find steps down to the beach. We saw turtles around us while swimming here. There was an ocean swell while we were there, and many people got their chairs and towels swamped when the tide was coming in.

The water has so many varying shades of blue as you look out farther and farther away. The ombre effect of the clear waters is so calming an serene. Truly a beautiful beach to relax and enjoy the sunsets of the island

Stunning beach, easy access. Picture perfect. Great Boogie boarding day!
This is what you picture a Hawaiian beach to look like.

I have been to beaches all over the world, and I will say this is one of my favorites. I'm sure conditions vary depending on time of year. However, we were here late July and early August and the water was crystal clear and a very comfortable temperature for swimming. We stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort, so it was nice to have lounge chairs and an umbrella provided for us.

Good beach to relax and enjoy the beach. It is a nice sandy beach, good views and relaxing atmosphere.

We didn't get to swim and enjoy the great snorkeling adventure, but we did get to enjoy this beautiful beach all afternoon when we attended the Te Au Moana Luau at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort. Enjoyed not only the luau on this beautiful beach but watched a gorgeous sunset with the beautiful Wailea Beach in the foreground! Couldn't have asked for a better location for my first luau in Maui! Will definitely visit this beach next time I'm here in Maui to check out the snorkeling!

I’m not a beach person because I’m not a good swimmer and burn easily. But on my recent trip to Maui, I found myself enjoying Wailea Beach. The water was mostly calm, except the day the hurricane was nearby. We saw sea turtles swimming by us in the beautiful blue waters. Wonderful, relaxing days!

Went here a couple times on our last trip. Large public parking lot. Beach is all sand and the waves were gentle. Nice beach for floating. It can be crowded though as there are a few resorts fronting it. The shops at wailea are behind the beach so it's not a far walk if you want to grab some lunch or go to the grocery store for snacks and drinks.

Favorite beach in Maui!! Kept clean, chairs available for use, easy access, beach parking until 8 pm

This a great beach to enjoy the at Maui!!
Is in a nice cove and you have the opportunity to swim or do water sports like paddle boarding or canoe, this is nice beach to relax not for surfing

You have to search for it but when you find it: it’s worth it. Not crowded and private. Located next to the Four Seasons. If you want lunch, walk north to the Wales Tail. Inexpensive fish tacos.

You can access this beach from a number of locations and at many there is free parking. There are a lot of good hotels along the front so you might find it can be busy and some have private areas set aside for clients. That said you will always find a spot and there is a lovely walkway which goes on a while. We walked I think about 4 miles in total as a round trip and stopped at a good hotel for drinks, staff were not bothered that we we non residents.

There are so many gorgeous beaches and this is one of them. Snorkelling is great and we always see turtles ( by the rocks on either end ) . Sand is great in the water and on the beach. There is a lovely paved sidewalk above the beach that you can meander by the ocean and along the Wailea area

Prepared all my snorkel gear and I didn’t have to step more than 10 feet into the water and there were 2 sea turtles just swimming around. It was so cool! I just stood there as the waves crashed in watching the turtles , not even having to go under water. After awhile, I snorkeled out and saw a few more and saw some cool fish too. By the rocks there was coral and sea urchins. To get into the water, it’s not rocky at all. Great beach!

What a gorgeous beach with fabulous soft sand! Great snorkeling and many turtles were spotted through the week! There’s a beautiful beach walk right behind as well as showers and foot sprayers for sand!

While there are definitely quieter beaches on the Island, this is one of my favorites. Great for swimming, snorkeling, and lounging. Really nice if you are staying at one of the hotels and you can utilize the beach service. They set you all up, towels, lounge chair and umbrella! Ahhhhhhhhhh

Spent an afternoon here and it was so beautiful. Crystal clear water, nice sand and good snorkeling. We got some Tommy Bahama chairs and sat off to the side of all the resort chairs and it was way better. The taco truck that was nearby had some of the best tacos ever. Not sure what it was called but the whole family enjoyed our beach picnic.

Really nice sandy beach with a walking path and facilities. This area had a calm surf and the whales were playing right out from the beach a hundred yards.

I enjoyed walking on the beach from Fairmont to The Wailea Shopping location. The area is scenic and a great place to get your walk on.

Gorgeous beach, warm water, great views. Snorkeling is great with plenty of fish and turtles to see.

One of the best beaches on East Maui, this was both picturesque and had all the modern facilities and convenience you want at a beach. Hotel staff were helpful despite us not being guests at the resort. Waters were reasonably calm so ok for swimming and snorkelling (best at the south end). We went kayaking which was $50 per hour for the two of us which seemed reasonable and was well worth it. For food there was a beach shack for cheap fare and high end restaurants tied to the resort.

Wailea beach was very nice, clean with very few lava rock to tear your feet up and no seaweed to get tangled in. Enjoy and relax.

When we were here, it was busy. We are told it goes in waves, sometimes busy, sometimes quiet. It’s a must see thou.

Gorgeous sandy beach. Great for swimming for families. Great snorkeling just off shore. Tons of turtles. They’re everywhere.
The sand is great feel. Does get hot in afternoon. Generally lots of space to simply lay out a towel between grand wailea and ritz Carlton.
Showers on both properties that shouldn’t be a problem to use even if not a guest.

Bathrooms and parking! Great little beach....wind was crazy and they sand was really whipping up quite a bit but it was a beautiful beach. We tried to snorkel and while it does have a little coral reef to look at some fish it wasn’t great unless you really swam out far (We didn’t but heard others talking).

This beach is shared by the Wailea Beach Marriott, the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons. No worries though, there was more than enough room for eveyone.
The water was sparkling clear, sandy and you could walk out a
fair distance. There was also Outrigger Canoe rides by Hawaiian Ocean Sports!

You can see for miles and the view is breathtaking! I walked this beach and meditated everyday. If you are not sure if there is a higher power, this beach will change your mind.

Beautiful beach with extremely soft, fine sand. We brought a flexible 7" frisbee with us and played in the water for the whole morning. Snorkeling is so-so, but the real treat here are the waves which are great for boogie boarding! There is a Snorkel Bob's location nearby where you can rent them for the day or week. We had a blast here!

Hidden gem. We stayed in Kihei and went to this beach a few times. Great spot, with plenty of parking available. It is surrounded by the four seasons and Marriott hotels and plenty of spots to grab a bite of you want to. The ocean was great, and allowed great boogieboarding.

We stayed by Wailea beach for 5 nights and since we are from FL (close to excellent beaches), we were not much impressed. One day from my room, we could see whales or the "spray" since we faced the water, which was really cool. Both Marriott and Grand Wailea also have good Luau. I liked the walking path by the beach but beach was a bit crowded and very small in my humble opinion. If you are from FL, you may not care for this beach.

Arrived at Marriott on Wailea beach. Immediately given an upgrade. Walked around the property then went to our room. On the desk was a bottle of wine, a pineapple that was scored and ready eat and a single serve cheese cake to share.

Great beach with nice area to walk around. Clean and nice sand beach great to snorkel if weather permit.

Very nice setup with chairs umbrellas and a lot of towels !! Very happy with that .. shout-out to the staff that does that everyday ...

beautiful quiet beach. wasn't too crowded when we went. also it's where white lotus was filmed. you can park at the public parking area and it's an easy walk down to the beach.

We truly enjoyed visiting this beautiful beach! The water is a beautiful blue. Our children loved playing in the ocean. The waves were a little intense at time but our young ones were fine with adult supervision.

We liked this beach because it was easy for swimming. The water was calm and the entry was sandy. We don’t like crowded beaches but that’s part of being on Maui, especially if you are not an experimented swimmer. Went to Makena beach first and although gorgeous, the surf was dangerous.

On the day we went to Wailea Beach, the waves were choppy and rough. The beach itself is beautiful. You should get there early before 8am as public parking is limited. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. There is a restroom and shower available.

Lovely beach - lovely walks along the beachfront. Clean paths and plenty of space to walk.Lovely views out to sea

We went there around sunset and we got free parking and got to see a stunning sunset. Water is also good for swimming and playing around.
You should take extra clothes with you as you will not be able to resist seeing this beauty.

beautiful and calm water, suits everyone - including young children. Free snorkelling as well! Be mindful of the turtles that visit!

Super nice beach. Very clean, great waves for bodyboard, great showers, just the parking is small - maybe park a little further away, go to the beach and enjoy this.

This has always been one of our favorite spots until now. With cruise lines not going to Lahaina, they bus passengers over to this location 1-2 times a week. Hotel beach chairs are harder to get, more crowded on those days, and less enjoyable. If you are looking for a peaceful Hawaiian beach, skip this one for now and go further away from the crowds.

This is a medium sized, but very popular beach near the Four Seasons Resort.
Beautiful sand and water. Nice backdrop.
Clean bathrooms.
Limited parking.

The beach is wonderfully groomed and beautiful views. Parking is very poor unless you are at a resort. Not easily walkable unless staying on a resort that backs onto the beach. Cabanas and chairs reserved for hotel guests and attendants renting them out are rude. Watched them yell at tourists who didnt know they were reserved and then were rudely asking tourists to sit elsewhere. In the sand Not a very reasonable public beach thanks to the resorts.

Beautiful beach in front of the Grand Wailea Hotel. Fantastic swimming. Sandy water entry. Great snorkeling toward the south end.

This is the perfect beach for anyone who wants to go to the beach. The only downside to other Maui beaches is there is no lifeguard but the bay is mostly calm and protected so there isn't big waves (very often). But always be respectful of the ocean and pay attention to your surroundings.

Spent a few days there and really enjoyed the sunsets, they were just spectacular! The sand was nice and soft, and the waves really nice. Plenty of shops and restaurants all around as well.

Went for snorkeling and just refreshing. It was a great day. The water was so calm and it was like a gigantic pool. Temperature was so comfortable so didnot want to get out. Will go back. Loved it.

This beach is right outside of the hotel we are staying at. The sand is more brown in color than white but is well maintained; I also like that you can go out into the ocean for quite a ways before it gets too deep to stand in the water.
Great place to relax; we come back in the evening when there is hardly anyone there to watch the sunset and just enjoy listening to the waves breaking on the beach. Very peaceful.

This is the best beach for relaxing! The powdery white sand and warm ocean water are perfection. There is a beach path that runs along it connecting all of the different hotels, making it easy to get from one to another. You will love Wailea Beach!

Great place
Good sandy beaches and we saw many turtles
Good food choices and clean bathrooms
Done Maui

Had the opportunity to visit Wailea Beach recently and love the sandy beach, the protected cove, especially when the wind kicked up as it has over the last few weeks. The highlight though is snorkeling off the beach around the rocks to the south where we saw 4 huge Manta Rays that just looked curious and swam right toward us (over a 10 foot wing span) and a sea turtle who was just coming up for some air. Always snorkel this stretch from Wailea around to the Fairmont Hotel and always see interesting marine life!!

The water is beautiful, the sand fine. This was a close walk from our hotel Wailea Beach Resort Marriott. There are color coded beach chairs to use. Just make sure you know which ones or your stuff will be dumped into the sand by their attendant while you are in the water. Other than that, I felt our stuff was safe while we bobbed in the ocean.

Great beach to spend the day at with plenty to do. Swim, snorkel, or go shopping nearby there is always something to do at Wailea Beach.

Most days the rollers are moderate, great sand, clean, good access to snorkeling, kayaks and standup boards, and Hawaiian canoe rides. Towels & umbrellas furnished by Fairmont.

Easy to get to, free parking, and great facilities. There is a grass area and nice beaches, bathrooms and showers. But the prize is the diving. It is safe and beautiful. Gentle waves and from a shallow depth there are lots of colorful fish to watch. Great for the family.

Stunning view, water and beach. Nearby resort had amazing music as added ambience. Many options for the beach that would suite your needs.

A beach to be loved. The sunset is so unbelieveable beautiful. Perfect to lay down or to walk. Not croweded.

Great place ,always you can find busy or relaxing areas on this beaches.not to sure walk at night some areas around but to much fun on day time.

This is a wonderful, wonderful sidewalk beach walk! Try to go on a cooler, cloudy, windy day. The walk can get pretty darn hot if it's sunny with no breeze. We park at the Wailea Shopping Village and walk down through the Wailea Beach Villas (Marriott) to catch the sidewalk near the pools. We will walk all the way down to the Polo Beach Club (to the left or South), then turn around and go all the way to the Andaz Boardwalk. I believe the full trip is 3 miles or more. Afterwards, we will walk back to the car and go to Island Cheeseburger or the Pint & Cork to get a bite to eat and our Parking validated (it's very expensive if you don't). Enjoy!!

Beautiful crescent beach that is very busy and can get crowded. All beaches are public in Hawaii. Water is nice and great for swimming or snorkeling.

This is a good swim spot for the younger kids, with their floaties,
snorkels, beach towels, umbrellas, etcc. lIKE ALL BEACHES NOT Great just OKAY!

We enjoyed this beach very much. The only (little) problem is that it is about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot.
There are warnings for a strong under current so be very careful when exiting the water. Don't turn your back on the ocean.

I have to say every beach in Maui is beautiful. Some are calmer than others. Wailea is a calmer one so you can relax in the water which is not warm or cold, just perfect temperature. Snorkling is fantastic, if you are lucky you will see a few sea turtles! You feel safe and local people are so nice and make you feel welcome.

amazing beach, cant get any better. a little slice of paradise and a dream come true. all my worries float away here

We visited the morning we left Maui so we only stayed for an hour or so. There are definitely crowds but the beach is beautiful and the water is gorgeous. There were people/places renting out chairs, umbrellas, etc. though we didn't inquire about prices. It looked as though a lot of people brought their own though!
We found public beach parking at the south end of the beach, just south of the Waldorf Astoria resort. Obviously there must be plenty more parking as there were hundreds of people at the beach and this parking lot held no more than 30 cars.

Great beach, great sand but also fairly busy. One of the more popular places in south Maui I'd guess, the waves and surf are pretty friendly and this beach is pretty big. Between the higher end resorts nearby and the rest of the place stocked with everyone else like us, it was still not like you had to fight for space at all. Sure it's one of the busier beaches there is, but there are reasons why a lot of people come and come on, you're in Hawaii, this place isn't a secret for a reason. The snorkel areas are good, there are cool tide pools to check out and like many places on this side of Maui, the photo op for sunset is second to none. Not the place to come if you want isolation or somehow think you will have the place to yourself, but it's a great beach and all the guide books gush over this spot for a reason. One of the best beaches we saw, I'd recommend taking a chance and try it for yourself.

Wailea beach has a few reefs on either end that are pretty decent for snorkeling. We also saw a number of sea turtles literally swimming around with us in that late afternoon! So that was neat. But it’s an unbelievably crowded beach in late March, as several resorts share it. There has also been some recent erosion that makes the beach not a very wide beach. The water is very blue and pretty and sometimes you can spot whales in the winter and early spring. But in terms of actually enjoying or walking on the beach, I’d recommend walking up to Ulua/Mokapu beaches..those are far less crowded and much more peaceful. But still nothing compared to the wide, white shell sand beaches of a NC barrier island.

Worth a visit. Use GPS or keep your eyes open as you drive. Otherwise you can whiz by the beach access entrance. You know there has got to be an ocean somewhere behind all those developments. Nice Beach. Wish I could afford to stay in one of the resorts in Wailea Had to settle for a day visit and hauled in my own beach chairs and umbrella. Wiggled my toes in the same sand as the rich folks.

We often hit the Caribbean for the best beaches, but as far as Maui goes, this is one of the best. It is definitely worth the visit. Parking can sometimes be an obstacle, so get there early, or be patient.

To be expected with a the resorts around, but I did not really enjoy our visit. There are plenty of other beaches in Maui to visit where people are not right on top of you.

Really clean and great snorkeling, especially near the north side of Wailea Marriott by the rocks. This is a public beach, but shares with Wailea Marriott, Grand Wailea, and Four Seasons. Hotels have options to rent equipment or chairs. Tend to be crowded, there are some equally great beaches south of Wailea without the hotel properties.

An excellent place to see sea turtles and enjoy the sun. The sand is soft and the tide and waves most of the time is easy to navigate.

This beach is directly in front of the Grand Wailea and neighboring properties with easy access by the public walking path. At either end are rocky/coral outcroppings that harbor fish life and turtles. So with very little effort, you can see these amazing and protected animals in their natural settings. Go early in the morning for best visibility before the wind increases wave action stirring up the sand. The beach is also used by paddle boarders, kayakers, scuba divers and other water sports enthusiasts, but in March it was never too crowded in the water. Beach chairs are provided by the various hotels.

A great beach with whales offshore during the right season. A wonderful place to escape the daily grind and enjoy warm sand and warm water.

Very nice beach with a sand extension perfect for a walk, with calm and warm waters good to swim.
There are some natural shadows

This is a beautiful beach area. All Hawaiian beaches are open to the public, even if right in front of a hotel. There are good public parking areas in between the resort hotels, and public restrooms near the beach. When turning off the main road into the parking access, you will know pretty quickly if you are on hotel grounds, just go back and try the next side road. In Sept 2021, the crowds are very light, no problem with parking at the big, tree covered lot near Four Seasons, no problem setting up two beach umbrellas. There is a smaller lot on the other side of Four Seasons, that one fills up, so if you don't get a space there just keep going and try another lot. Beachgoers were courteous tourists, I didn't see any drunk college kids, but we visited in September. Sand is white and soft, ocean is very swimmable.

This beach is lovely, clean, and perfect for families, or for those who want a relaxing experience. The surf is much calmer than elsewhere on the island.

In our opinion, the best beach on the island of Maui. Soft, white sand. Clear, beautiful water. Great area for Snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, walking etc. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful beach. Ample space for everyone. Life guards, keep a good eye one the people. Call people out, warn swimmers of the dangers of the rocks. Thanks guys... great job!

Regardless of what sits on the beachfront, the beaches in Maui are free access, but Grand Wailea is ruining this beach for both its guests, other visitors and residents by hogging prime space with unused lounge chairs and umbrellas. So right now, no one is happy.

Beautiful clean coastline with great snorkelling. Water is very clear and warm, with chairs and towels provided by the hotels. Be sure to catch the sunset!

Go early and enjoy the quiet of this beach. This is a good beach for families with small children. Perfect size waves for small children with lots of sand. Easy access from parking lots that are free of cars before 10am.
Adults on the other hand may not enjoy this beach. Waves are too small for any boogie boarding. Snorkeling is terrible with only some small amount of fish visible at the far south end of the beach by the rocks.

This is a nice beach. However, we are used to spectacular sand and water in places like St. John, Antigua, Akumal, etc. When the sun is bright, some of its color comes alive. the greatest aspect about this beach was the turtles we got to swim with!

One of the nicest beaches is Wailea Beach located near the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea Resorts. The public access pathway runs the length of the beach is well-maintained as are the free restrooms, showers, and parking. When we were there, people were mostly sitting on the beach and enjoying the sunny day. The crescent-shaped beaches are wide, and the waters were quite calm. The beach is lined with palm trees and is easily recognized as a luxurious place to be

My husband and I checked out several beaches in Maui last week and decided this was best for us - close enough and not too choppy with miles of soft white sand! On the last day of our vacation, we wanted to just dip in the water and walk along the beach. There were many families still around so we left our clothes and small purse with our cellphones on the rocks and went into the water. In a span of 20 minutes, there were at least 4 guys who snooped by our belongings, and one even pretended to swim beside us. We quickly came out of the ocean and walked back to our things and these no-gooders moved away. So we didn’t see the turtles or fish at Wailea beach, but we sure encountered some “rats”.

absolutely beautiful beaches. water was beautiful and perfect temperature. The sand was the best sand Ive ever seen. I loved these beaches

This is a popular beach at the north of the island. You will find restrooms and picnic tables. There are rocks you could cliff jump off. Depending of the season you can find big waves for surfers or a most peaceful seating for you and your family. Parking can get tricky so get here early and you will be fine.

Just like the postcard... ❤️
We stayed for ten days with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren and it was everything we hoped for - a beautiful beach with coral reefs just offshore, volcanic rock, sea turtles galore, gorgeous sunsets!

Great beach in a very nice location (some kind of a Beverly Hills of Maui). The beach is clean, with great sand and smooth and sandy entrance in the ocean.
There are just a few spots in the shade, but still better than other, while you can also rent umbrellas & chaise longs (50 $ per pack or 30 $ just the umbrella).
Seems like the turtles like to swim in that area as there’s a big chance you stumble upon at least one turtle swimming in the water close to the land.

Took a day trip to Wailea while staying in Honolulu and spent the day on the beach. IMO, this is far superior to Waikiki Beach. Far less crowded with pristine sand as far as the eye can see. Definitely worth renting a car to spend the day at. Best of all, free parking!

Wailea Beach is the nicest of the beaches within Wailea Resort and it is absolutely beautiful. Also, the snorkeling in front of the Four Seasons is excellent. Not only is there a large variety of fish, but you also get to see sea turtles.

A great beach with a massive stretch of sand. Soft gorgeous sand. This is about as good as “beaching” gets.

Wailea Beach is a gorgeous stretch of sand that hugs the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea. At times it can get crowded, but the sand is soft and the water is warm. Enjoy!

My brother in law and sister booked us the Marriott hotel on the beach. The beach is very friendly for families and couples. The water is cool

Set on a highly developed part of Maui is this long stretch of beach that is great for swimming, boarding and sunbathing. It is very family friendly.

This beach was great for snorkeling. The reef is only a short distance from shore and tropical fish are everywhere as soon as you get to waist deep water. It literally feels like you're swimming in an aquarium. We saw no less than 3 sea turtles in one afternoon. Go early in the morning to early afternoon as later than that, the wind seemed to pick up each day and the water gets too rough to snorkel. Plenty of public parking is available at the public access point next to the Four Seasons resort.

Everything about this beach is wonderful. Clean, beautiful scenery, close to shopping, amazing view!

This beach is so romantic and lovely. The best sunsets on Maui you will love it and the walking area is very beautiful.

We had a busy day out and about exploring and needed a cool down. It’s a clean beach which great access from a car park not fare from the main beach.

Easy parking with short walk to beach. Nice snorkeling along left side. Nice fine sand easy access to water and very clear. Bring your own towel and chairs.

Water is beautiful. Beach isn’t crowded (everyone stays at pool). Water is very calm compared to Big Beach down the road.

This beach is extremely crowded on most days due to the number of chairs/umbrellas that all the hotels are allowed to keep on the beach. It’s difficult to even find space to throw a football.

This place is amazing for the family. The beach is a perfect spot to watch the sunset with your loved ones. Waves/current isn't as bad as Lahaina, but I'd recommend this place to watch the beautiful sunset and of course swimming, too.

Granted, we were there the Memorial weekend, but this is the most crowded I have seen Wailea Beach. We stayed at the Four Seasons. I suggest you go in the winter to see the whales.

Very pretty beach, somewhat private, waves usually mild. Great for early morning or evening walks. Don't expect to find any seashells.

Only reason you will be able to visit this beach is because all beaches in Maui are public!! This is a scallop-shaped bay, bordered by upscale resorts for Four Seasons, Marriott and Waldorf Astoria.
This beach is crowded with dozens of resort loungers and if you're not staying at one of the resorts that line the beach, then getting to this beach is painful as well. The resorts do not have public access lanes available to access the beach and you have to walk through the endless resorts to get to the beach. The public parking situation is not great either. Don’t make the mistake of thinking the beach chairs and umbrella are there for public use.
Also, good luck in moving around to finding some private more secluded spot. If you aren’t staying in one of the resort then I’d recommend to find some other beach to go to if you don’t want to feel like second class citizens invading into first class citizen’s space.

Such a gorgeous beach, definitely bring your snorkel gear, and your own umbrellas/chairs if you're not associated with one of the nearby hotels (chairs/umbrellas at the beach are only for hotel guests)

Nice view with soft sand.
The tide is very good for fun, and it is safe to play because it’s shallow enough for kids.

This is by far the best beach in the Wailea area in terms of sand quality and water. It’s very beautiful but can get a little crowded. It is surrounded by hotels with beach chair service. Since it’s a small beach it’s gets pretty crowded. Even if you stay at one of the hotels you still may not be able to get a seat. It is especially beautiful since it faces sunset.

Another beautiful beach!! Hardly any people on the beach due to COVID & the islands only being open for 2 week.(a bonus sad to say)
Great beach

This is one of the best beachs on Maui. While the nearby hotels mena there will be many people it is *so* much less crowded than in Kaanapali.

Paradise!Stayed at the Grand Wailea where chairs and umbrella were provided for guests. Easy access!

If you have been to other beaches in Maui this beach is ok. The people staying in the resort behind it should fully enjoy it. For those that travel there the parking lot is not very full if you go earlier in the morning. From the beach you can see whales when they are there.

The beach is great. Soft Sands and the surf does not kill you. Kids had a blast. If you are from one of the hotels, they have chairs and umbrellas for you if you get their early enough.

What a great place to spend an afternoon in Maui. It was relaxing and beautiful. Connected to Grand Wailea Hotel, the chairs and umbrellas provided make the day special.

Calm waves and plenty of soft sand. It was right in front of our hotel so access couldn't be better. There are some good snorkel spots off to the sides of the beach area but most people accessed these via boats or paddle boards/kayaks. We had 3 sea turtles swim right up to us during our stay and a few fish here and there so the kids enjoyed it.

We knew about this place from the HBO show... funny enough we didn't realize that when we arrive on the beach we will be right by the Four Seasons resort where the White Lotus story takes place LOL
It's a nice beach but nothing different then many other beaches along the coast here or in north Maui really - if you have it at the resort great, otherwise I wouldn't bother... considering lots of guests in this area come here for the honey moon etc. expect lots of professional photo shoot outs etc :)
TIP: free parking lot is tucked in between the resorts, unusual setup but at least that's there, there is also restrooms and changing rooms, no food/drinks vendors though as this is all resorts coastline...

this is a beautiful beach but it feels overcrowded. very placid in the mornings and windy with higher surf in the afternoon

This is a lovely beach and has great views of the whales during February. There is public parking nearby.

Love this beach. Well groomed. Surf is perfect for kids. Not much shade. Have to go early, if you want a parking spot. Great snorkeling by the Four Seasons Hotel.

There are many entry points. I like the one just before the big hotels- and many of them have decked walkways that go on through for awhile. Some are little coves that feel private with parking not far away. Great place for sunsets for sure.

I went for a visit to Wailea through a shore excursion which included a beach chair and greeter to ensure we were looked after at the beach. Parking available to get there on your own. Lovely walkway down and accessible until stairs to the beach. Hotels all nearby for food or snacks. Changing room/washroom at parking lot if not a hotel guest.
Rented snorkeling gear for $20 US for the day.
Waves strong in December and NO Lifeguard. A little more sheltered than Makena and early in the day not too crowded. Winds and sand blowing by early pm and when we were leaving. Water lovely temperature but again should be a good swimmer and surf/undertow can knock you off your feet on the shoreline. Not bad snorkeling next to rocks where surf is calmer. Saw a shadow in the water and realized I was swimming alongside a sea turtle!
Beach is monitored by Makena beach lifeguards/security and when I’d gone on shore the jet ski arrived. Everyone told tiger shark sighting had been confirmed so being in the water/beach was closed.
Enjoyed reading my book at that point, drinking my water and suntanning! Still worth the visit and always be aware and pay attention anywhere in Hawaii when in the water.

There are a few beaches in Wailea, they are sandy and you can hire snorkel gear, we saw turtles and lots of different fish. there are rocks and the waves can get a bit rough at times.

It was great staying at the Fairmont in Maui, it was great having a priavte beach for all the guests only. They were helpful and very accomodating to our needs by helping us wuth seats and umbrella. Very clean and supervised.

Loved the waves, views and lava rocks along the beach. Breathtaking! Clear water with a special visit from a turtle everyday!

Everyone talks about Ka'anapali beach and Napili. I agree those are both beautiful beaches. Wailea in my humble opinion is the best overall for families. Very accessible, super beautiful area, not a huge beach, but just a great personal size. We saw and swam with 5 sea turtles on the first day there and many other sea creatures while snorkeling on the southside of the beach. Highly recommended.

We came to the beach at 5pm to get a quick dip in the ocean and see the sunset. It was truly beautiful sunset and the beach is so calm and soft sand.

Arrive early (8 to 9 am), as this beach is shared by several timeshares and resorts. Best time to go is in the late fall. Very good snorkeling in south Wailea and we discovered turtles, colorful fish and coral. Water is very clear and easy to get in and out, without getting beat down by large swells in the morning to about noon. Thereafter anticipate some possible winds in the mid afternoon. Lots of paddle boarders around 10 am, so make yourself known if you are snorkeling. Atmosphere is laid back and wonderful stretch of beach to take a walk or just simple be.

Hotel keeps this beach nicely groomed and is a pretty horseshoe shaped spot. Can get crowded with beach chairs and stuff. Didn't Snorkel here but I herd it was nice!!

How nice it is to sit and watch the sunset on the beach and see the children playing in the shallow water. While we were here, the red flag was always out so we did not go in the water but it sure was a small and enjoyable beach area in front of the Fairmont.

A public beach sandwiched between two higher end hotels. We arrived ~7:15am for our snorkeling tour (see Snorkeling for Non-Swimmers Guided Tour - Wailea Beach review) and found parking no problem. The reef isn’t too far for confident swimmers to swim to and snorkel. We saw sea turtles and what is referred to as the turtle cleaning station where many turtles go and little fish eat the algae off their backs.

This stunning beach is within steps of Grand Wailea. The water is the most beautiful blue, sometimes clear and the sand was was soft. Don't forget the sunscreen!

Title says it all. We speculate that with all the Dive Boats going to Turtle Town that the Turtles moved to this beach area. We always see 5-15 sightings a day and you don't have to snorkel to do it. Turtles just swim by.

The views (sunset, Lanai etc), the sidewalk along the shore, the hotels, the restaurants, the weather (always sunny). It is just the best!

My son and I had a great experience doing snorkeling here with our guide, Drew, from the Grand Wailea snorkel tour! We saw an octopus, 8 sea turtles, and 2 eels! It was gorgeous coral and clear as can be.. an excellent experience of a lifetime 💙

We loved the Wailea area. It was amazing!! If your a golfer - most go to the other side to gold in Kanapalli - but take the time to try golf in Wailea you will not be disappointed! This seem to be a quite area compared to the other side where it seems more touristy. Regardless were you are- your still in Maui a magical place from the start!

Great beach - if you are staying in one of the hotels its amazing, chair with umbrella by the beach ... if you are visiting for the day might be hard to find decent spot but still worth it. You can watch sea turtles by just getting a mask

Wondeful beach! Wade in the ocean for hours. Calm in morning, min mild or moderate waves in afternoon deoending on winds. Wonderful sand.

We stayed at the Wailea Marriott for our trip, so this was the beach we spent most of our time at. It is a very clean and beautiful beach with perfect waves for boogie boarding.

One of the best “hotel “ beaches on the island, clear warm water and sandy bottom with a really large and uncrowded dry beach.

Words can’t explain and pictures can’t do it justice! I walk a beach path that run a along this axing piece of paradise every morning. My hour walk/run flies by when this beach is the view!

one of the best beaches I ever saw and swan.
Tourist area but I don't mind it. It makes the place more exciting with the diff cultures you see.
Its a must when you stay in Wailea.

So nice to have an ocean front walk in front of the hotel. We walked in different directions every morning and enjoyed it. Just wished the paved path was a little wider.

Nice to walk along the shore. -Beach is Shallow closer to the shore and safe for kids. Can relax on the beach chairs if you stay at wailea resort

Long beach with plenty of room to spread out and/or walk. Sunsets are beautiful.
Major resorts are the backdrop to the beach.

This beach is wonderful for snorkeling and swimming, even with young kids. The waves are calmer in the morning and it can get windy later in the day.

Just a side trip to actually see, and walk on a very unique and unusual black sand beach. To me; it was a rare special experience. I throughly enjoyed my short time viewing, and walking along the shore in the surf and fine black sand. Happy that I experienced it.

Amazing beachwalk along beautiful Wailea coastline. Turtles, dolphins and whales abound in November. Great way to get 10K steps in at the start of the day each morning!

Great way to get from one beach or resort to another. This is much quicker than driving to the shops or restaurants.

This is a lovely clean beach in a nice location. It is a bit on the smaller side; however, the coast and location make it great for kids in the group. It does have a public beach, with restrooms. No complaints here.

If you are looking for a beautiful beach with amazing views, this is your place. The whales are very active not to far off the shore and you can often see turtles swimming near the rocks. I can't wait to go back! My wife and i went on our honeymoon here and couldn't have been happier!

Beautiful views all day. Easy to walk along the beach with a path between beachfronts. It was more crowded than I usually like--lots of activity with people walking, jogging, or otherwise enjoying the beautiful views, but worth a visit.
Wonderful beach experience
Offsite from the Grand Wailea, this beach can get quite crowded. But bring your snorkeling gear, boogie boards and paddle boards because this is a great place to do all of them. In mid summer the water temperature is very pleasant and most days have plenty of wave action for boogie boards and body surfing.
