1 of 46 Best Attractions in Morgantown

We are Longhorn fans visiting Morgantown. WVU fans were very friendly and we enjoyed every minute of the Saturday afternoon tailgate. Traffic is a bear, plan accordingly. Uniontown Pa was convenient for hotel. Moonshine was tasty.

We brought my nephew here for orientation. Beautiful campus but hilly. Staff is very nice and helpful. Was a nice bonus to take pics and have snacks at Panini Pete's. Very organized move in day. Decent dorms.

Lots of great historical buildings can be found on the downtown campus. Great student center is worth a visit. Nice views of the river valley from several places.

The University is the biggest thing in Morgantown. Top rated football team that brings tons of people into town for games.

The campus for WVU is beautiful how it sits in the mountains. It is actually 3 campuses that are easy to get to. They have a monorail that goes to each campus for students and that is really cool. You don't have to worry about freshman 15 here as you are walking up and down mountains to get to class. This is one of the universities my daughter is seriously considering.

An amazing experience. My sons had a great time. They were here for open house. Both were at different sessions , one at downtown campus and one at evansdale and they both came away enthusiastic about school and WVU.

we visited the campus for my son. the two gentlemen at the desk services were very kind, polite, helpful and answered everything we asked them. the campus is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. we only felt that the advisor at the Veterans office could have been more helpful. other then that was a great experience.

It is one of the reputed universities in the region having pretty high academic standards. Very expansively spread out with all possible facilities being provided to the students

A huge University spread out over Morgantown..the town has it all.. a cool place the best was a smaller international food store with a great owner who knows all of the history of the incredible slection of products from all over the mideast
I counted 24 different kinds of rice and14 ifferent kinds of Backlava.... sooo good mmmmmmm
names Koonse gifts I think.. see international food stores in Google

WVU has a hometown feel and beautiful campuses and PRT transit makes it easier to get between campuses

visitied WVU as potential transfer student with our son. He really liked the atmosphere. Admissions and Engineering were extremely helpful and friendly.

WVU's downtown campus is small, quaint and very walkable. You can see all the buildings in under an hour and still be able to get a drink in the Mountainlair. The campsu has undergone many changes over the years, and it is interesting to see what the next change will be. If you want to see the Evansdale campus, then just jump on the PRT and take off on Morangtowns unique mass transit system.
The whole area is beautiful in the fall, wet in the spring, temperate in the summer and bleak in the winter.
If you are in the area, swing through town and check things out, oh, and Let's Go Mountaineers!

Lots of history in the area very friendly college town - quiet during spring break - and couple of hours from pittburgh

My daughter went to this school and loved it. We went for her graduation and were impressed with the setting and the ceremony.

Toured WVU with my son. Had a great time! What a beautiful campus! The tour guides were full of information and made themselves available for all questions.

From the viewpoint of an Academic Professor, I know that West Virginia University is a Tier One Research Institution of Higher Education (IHE.)
For several reasons, WVU and environs are cutting edge technology and research.
As a Proud Mountaineer, my view is that WVU plays second fiddle to none. We have been Mountaineer supporters for 60+ years. WVU football and basketball was a hallmark of my family of origin.
For years, I have been proud of the faculty and sports program.
On a recent trip from the Buckeye state, I observed 20+ dead does on I-70, I- 79, I – 68, and SR 119. Please turn the hunters loose; the deer population has exploded.
In my view, both Huntington and Charleston are “antique towns” that are secondary to WVU.
In my view, there are far too many WV colleges masquerading as “universities.”
It is always a grand pleasure to walk the several campuses of WVU. And Ohio State’s loss is the GREAT president, Gordon Gee. President Gee is a brilliant man, who is unparalleled in leadership. Yes, I have met president Gee on several occasions.
West Virginia University attracts some of the finest academic professors in the country. Problematic is the lack of zoning in WV. One might build a $1 million home, and find the adjacent subdivision to be a mobile home park.
Student housing and apartment seem exponential. Try a drive on the TERRIBLE Riffle Road to SR 119. What are “they” thinking?

Interesting to visit, glad none of my children will be going there.
WVU is supposed to be a good school, but we were there in February and it was COLD!!! and those crazy college kids were running around in shorts and t-shirts!! There was very little to do but freeze. We tried to walk around the historic downtown, but there wasn't much to see and then we went to the newer shopping area on the hill, but everything was outside access only and with it being so cold, we ended up just going back to our hotel.

WVU Visitor Center was very nice, Tons of info, good snacks and a great staff! We enjoyed our tour. Our guide, Lauren, did a great job. Meeting at the Engineering College was very informative. My son has WVU high on his list.

Great campus. Some of the building are so historical and have such amazing architecture. Any time you call the campus, you get a hold of real people. They give great tours and keep you very informed as a parent. We have two students that go there. So far, so good!

We were only one night in Morgantown and we wanted to see the campus. It is huge and quite beautiful. The grounds are well kept and the campus is clean. We were hoping to see the inside of the stadium and basketball arena but that was not possible at the time we were there.

My brother and I were backpacking through the USA and after finding that the stadium we were going to watch the game at that night did not allow bags to be taken in we walked all around town look for somewhere to store our small backpacks. After being told no by many establishments, we were pleasantly surprised to meet two students working at reception in the WVU rec centre who were more than happy to help us out for the night and hold our bags for us. Without that our trip to Morgantown wouldn't have been what it was! Thanks WVU

Lots of walking up and down hills, but worth the effort, several older buildings with lots of character and a great student center.

WVU in Morgantown, WV has always been a great venue for sports, but it is also a great spot for concerts and other activities that would otherwise not be available in a town this size.

Great visit, Everyone was extremely helpful ! The Campus is beautiful and our son is really looking forward to attending. The entire staff at the Hotel and University are so nice and very informative.

Landscaping everywhere. Very hilly. The staff and students were really friendly and courteous. We had a great time visiting the campus and my 1 year old daughter loved it!

As a fellow Mountaineer, I believe we have one of the most beautiful campuses around.

The Personal Rapid Transport may be the only one of its kind in the US. So you must ride it at least once if you're in the area. It's unique and efficient, and provides a good view of the campus, river, and bike trail.

A great university with a great tradition. Athletics and Academics are second to none in the area. The town is a wonderful place to live.

my daughter is a student @ WVU and absolutely enjoys it. we live close by & learned more about it, there is a separate bus tour of all of the WVU campuses that you take before you have student orientation, than we knew from living here. they did a wonderful job.

Great City, beautiful campus! Wonderful little shops and restaurants downtown/within walking distance to a lot or ride the PRT (personal rapid transit) to see the town/campus. Sometimes difficult to navigate in car, until you get the hang of the lay out of the city. Can be a little congested when students are in town but the roads are being repaired and upgraded constantly.

Last time I was here was over 40 years ago. My oh my have we grown. The Evansdale Campus is huge. You can easily spend a day visiting. And there are oh so many places to eat. Enjoy!

I cannot believe how Morgantown has grown and changed but still proud of my Alma Mater. It was a great school for me all those years ago and still think it is a great choice for students today.

WVU is a great school to attend, and a great place to visit if in the area. Filled with rich history, there is plenty to see and do on campus, as well as in Morgantown.

West Virginia University is an important resource for both Morgantown the the state of West Virginia and we were pleased to be able to visit many places around the university even for a brief visit. The architecture is very interesting. Noteworthy is the system of PRT (personal rapid transit) which provides vital transportation to the university's residents across a wide system of university campuses. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this outstanding small university.

I went to a anniversary party at a hotel there. Very up scale atmosphere, they had valet parking. It was like being in France, but in the country.

Everything is set up there to encourage those student to study and succeed. Take pictures.

I finally got to visit West Virginia University. The campus is beautiful, Clean, and organized. There is a bus system and Tram system for the students. Everything is easily accessible, and I am very proud to be going to this school.

When touring both parts of the West Virginia University campus be prepared to walk up and down steep hills. There is quie a distance between the two campus but there is a personal rapid transit service. It wouldn’t take our cash, a student swiped us in. It is a very scenic ride. We toured the Mountainlair, the Old Main and the Mountaineer Mascot. We then returned to the PRT station and once again it was impossible to pay. A student swiped us in. After a long wait for a train an announcement was made that the system was down and busses would be dispatched. After half an hour one bus came, During the ride up the hill the driver announced the service was back up and that everyone would have to get off at the next stop. We asked the driver if we could stay on to the final PRT stop at the visitor’s parking garage. Not only did she refuse but yelled at us for riding the bus and PRT saying only students could ride it. At this PRTstop the turnstiles were not working. The students used the service phone to get instructions and we went up and down several service stairs to finallly be able to board. We eventually got back to our car in the garage an hour and a half after leaving the Mountainlair. If you are touring the WV University campus it is best to go by car and park at a garage at each campus.

Nice atmosphere, friendly spirit, very calm, the town is not great, but the buildings on the campus are very friendly.

Very nice arena
Public transit made it easy to travel to part of our group sat in upper level and still had a great view

Attended spring graduation ceremonies for my daughter. We spent time walking the downtown campus, shopping in the bookstore and soaking up the atmosphere. Campus is lovely this time of year. Lots of good memories as this is also my parent’s alma mater. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful to my daughter to work out the details for her graduation. She had earned an online Masters so she did had to handle everything remotely. Could not have had a better graduation weekend experience.

The campus is spread out over three main areas - Medical, Engineering, and everything else. The PRT (free to student shuttle cars) provide traffic free transportation between campuses. Lots of eats in the downtown campus.

Student tour guides were outstanding. WVU has so much to offer prospective students.
Very impressed!

Very sprawled out but what big campus is not? Downtown campus is beautiful. Old school buildings but upkept very nicely. I am not from wv but I could not be happier with my choice. Forewarning, walking the campus can be very tiring due to everything being in a hill but just think, it will get you in shape :)

Came up to donate some old books, dating to 1803, to the WVU library. To learn more about the University, we took the official WVU tour.
Meet at WVU Visitor center near Waterfront Plaza. Given presentation by students. Lots of items on display - a PERT car, clips of various students & athletespn.com. Maybe a 15 min presentation that was an overview of the University & it's admission process.
Given free WV shaped cookies and bottle water.
2 guides drove us to all 3 campus locations. Entire presentation was about 2.5 hours long. Great buildings - great facilities. Currently undergoing a $ 8 B dollar expansion program.
Time well spent.

Our daughter goes here so we visit often. Love the school. The town and all that there is to do. Daughter has a lot of friends and it seems to be a great school with a lot to offer. She talks about all her teachers and how wonderful they all are to us often

Been here many times in the 5 years he has been here getting that coveted PhD. Pretty buildings but hilly and I have MS so walking a bit difficult but 2 lovely campuses and he is getting a great education

Some of the most rudest people Ive met in my life.Road rage Drivers everywhere!!Buildings are in terrible condition.

Went to WVU for a college tour with my daughter. All I can say is the place felt like home. Friendly people that are down to earth from working class families. There is a sense of community and pride from all that we came in contact with. The recreational center was amazing. The hospital was an unbelievable learning center with employees who were professional, caring, and genuine. The medical campus was enormous with a great diverse opportunity for different medical professions. The engineering campus was impressive. We would be proud to send our child to WVU.

Our daughter attends WVU, and loves it. The university area is built right into Morgantown. The streets are narrow at times, so watch your driving. There are hills, so be prepared to walk uphill. The campus is close knit and easy to get used to. This is a college town, so every part of it WVU. Good school.

We stayed at the Waterfront Place Hotel (soon to be a Marriott Property) adjacent to WVU. This facility is actually a destination for tourists as there are exhibits inside pertaining to WVU including an actual PRT car where you can take your own computer generated ''selfies'' that you can actually send to yourself!

close to everything in Morgantown, have stayed there before with special Olympics, and they were very good to our althetes, had my school reunion there, been to wedding reception there, food was good, clean, very accomadating

went for an accepted student college visit. Had a great tour guide (Andrew) he answered every question and showed us around the entire campus. We were even able to meet with the prospective advisor. Looks like I have myself a Mountaineer!

Love this place! WVU is a great institution with numerous programs that are the best in the nation. The school and surrounding communities are great, with many friendly folks who love their school and their town and it shows! President Gee is true one of a kind and he is a great ambassador for WVU.

One of the highlights of the Morgantown area. For 50 cents round trip, one can go from one end of the city (Walnut Station) to the other (Medical Center). This is a little Personal Rapid Transit System "people mover" that zips you around town.

I've had two sons graduate from WVU and have been very satisfied with the results. The campus is nice and generally accessible. This is a good choice for a college in WV.

Nice college in a little town. Didn’t expect so many side streets that went up and down and through the hills of Morgantown WV

Surprisingly urban. Large and spread out campus. Try the Personal Rapid Transit - fun and efficient

I got my accounting degree there a long time ago, so I'm biased to begin with. I loved it when I was a student and I still love it. We visited there a couple of years ago and saw just how much it has grown. Traffic can be somewhat of a problem, especially if you are not familiar with the roads. But Morgantown is a nice small town with about as many amenities as larger cities.

The downtown campus is pretty. The Mountainlair has a variety of food and activities. Parking is tough. The PRT provides a unique mode of transportation when it is working.

To its credit - the architecture, verticality and aesthetics are very nice on this campus (downtown). Lots of walking options - which is nice. Didn't care for the through traffic across the campus - and potential pedestrian impact issues. Good bookstore and student union. Nice parking garage by bookstore.

Very informative and organized. The staff and students at West Virginia University could have not been nicer or more helpful. I left there feeling very good about our decision.

Morgantown is a small river town with Big 12 university at it's heart. The university has all the attributes of a major university in a safe friendly confines. The surrounding area is beautiful rolling hills and full of outdoor activities. The river is accompanied by an extensive rail trail system so hiking and biking are easy and scenic. Many restaurant and brewpub options for dining. Lots of vitality in the vibe.

This is my daughter's second year at WVU. She absolutely loves it there. Beautiful campus, wonderful people, numerous activities available. It's also very welcoming to parents and family. The president, Dr. Gee, is so personable and hands-on. He makes you feel comfortable leaving your child there.

I'm from Morgantown, born and raised and never left, and I also attended WVU for my undergraduate degrees and I wouldn't go any place else, it's home and I love it!!! The traffic can be a little hectic at times when there are tons of students in attendance and football games, but that's what living in a university town is all about. Let's Go Mountaineers!!!!

The campus is beautiful and historic. There are many places to eat and great views of the river from several vantage points. But lots of hills so wear comfortable shoes!

We took a very good tour of the school. Not only did we meet with an admissions person, they connected us up with a professor in the area my daughter wanted to study.
We really loved that they have a monorail system connecting the 3 campuses.

As an alumni, I love this school and it's campus. Plenty to do with loads of great places to eat and first class sporting venues

Spend at least two days to enjoy all Morgantown has to offer- tour the University, enjoy the downtown, check out the beautiful mountain scenery. Maybe go to a game?

The campus is large and if the PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) is down it is hard to get around. The campus is beautiful and the buildings are close together.

Morgantown is basically the West Virginia University. IT's a huge university with great campus. All around the businesses are for the University and it's beautiful.

Too many students and not enough roads! The roads are terrible. Downtown Morgantown is inconvenient and the traffic pattern is horrible. This is a perfect example of a large town trying to be a big city!

Great college! Great campus!! Definitely have your hs seniors visit! Morgantown is WVU! Everyplace you go, everyone is wearing WVU shirts and hats!

WVU's nursing program is in the old hospital. This building is like navigating a maze and takes some getting used to. I parked in the parking garage and found the parking fees quite pricey. The bathroom are old and need updated. Elevators are slow due to mass of people. However, the nursing instructors and Trauma instructors are friendly. I also liked the fact they had a cafeteria in the old hospital as well as the new. The food seemed of better quality and price in the old building.

WVU is just a charming university and it is pleasant to walk around the buildings, visit the Mountainlair, take pictures in front of the Woodburn and enjoy one of the best university campus in America. If you go to Morgantown, take your time to walk to the University and enjoy the seeing of nice buildings and feel the Mountaineer atmosphere.

beautiful campus. hundreds of activities. my daughter loved it. Everything a college campus has to offer. Extremely hilly terrain will present driving problems in bad weather but there are plenty of buses and the PRT.

There are two parts of campus. The health science campus is large with nice facilities. There's a large football stadium adjacent to the hospital as well as a basketball arena down the street. The university adds a touch of class to the town.

There's more to WVU than football and basketball. A visit to the campus will enlighten you. Tour the main campus as well as the medical facilities reached by the "monorail." WVU, one of the top universities in the country!

Went with my son to a university tour and orientation. The staff was very attentive, the tour was almost 3 hrs and covered everything.

Be ready for the constant shuffle of students walking everywhere and roads which go up and down. It is definitely a place where activity is always going on. Overall, though the building on campus are nice to look at and there is plenty to do there, just be prepared to walk everywhere once you can find a place to park. Your best bet is to park somewhere off campus and catch a shuttle bus there. No high heels unless you like walking up and downs hills with them.

My son had orientation the following morning at 7am. Very convenient to all we needed! Loved the fire pit!

West Virginia University is a nice campus - They have the downtown campus and the Evansdale Campus. Enjoyed the view from the PRT.

We visited WVU just as the autumn colors were coming out and it is a nice walk up University Avenue. You realize quickly why they are called the Mountaineers as the university is really built on a mountain. It is right off the downtown area and well worth walking around the campus if you are visiting.

We were there for a campus tour. Our tour guide was wonderful and the 2.5 hour tour was very thorough. Our guide, Kirsten, even spent about 30 minutes talking with us and answering questions.

Nestled in the majestic hills of West Virginia, this university has it all. A great education as well as activities to make a well rounded student. Free transportation all over the city, great restaurants, plenty of activities. The class sizes are small and everyone is known by name.

We traveled to the TCU vs West Virginia Football game from Texas, even though we had heard horrible rumors about fan treatment at games. Apparently these rumors had gotten back to West virginia because their fans went way out of their way to be cordial and warm to us visitors. We have been to many away games but never have we been treated so nicely.
We were invited to eat and drink at a number of tailgates as we walked to the stadium and all who we met wished us good luck in the game. even after the game we were congratulated on our win. I hope our fans can learn from this experience and repay the kindness shown to us. Believe me we will spread the word.

What can I say? I am a WVU fan. I bleed blue and gold, so yes, my review is that WVU is the greatest university in the...

Excellent facility. Well run event. The facilities are state of the art and the parking lot is well designed.

What a fabulous trip to West Virginia University. College visit for daughter to attend WVU in the fall of '17. A great campus nestled in the mountains of Morgantown, WV. The campus is connected by monorail and a great transportation system. The city of Morgantown holds many amazing treasures in and of itself. The campus was a bustling hub in the city center with so many things happening that time did not allow us to take part in at the time but a return visit is definitely in the making.

WVU is my son's first choice for college. WVU promotes a great family atmosphere and very welcoming. They aim to make you a part of their Mountaineer family and willing to help you in any way they can. Definitely a school worth its money.

Morgantown has so much to offer but isn't really considered a "big" city. WVU is home to great sports, great bars, great outdoor facilities and great views. Lots of ups and downs as you navigate the mountains but worth it. WVU graduated about 4500 students this May.

Decided to stop in Morgantown and see West Virginia University. We had the good fortune of happening upon a parking attendant who took a few minutes to tell us about some of the buildings etc. What a joy she was. Very interesting and nice little walk. Glad we stoped to see the University.

My son and I traveled from RI for his WVU orientation overnight. This is an amazing campus, with lots of history. The Downtown campus buildings are beautiful, and a great place to walk.

Traveling on the road, I love taking my children to colleges to see campus life and see if any of my kids show interest. They liked this one. School was fantastic. Not too large, but it is a university sized campus. Great view of the river and the town is a great college town. Really enjoyed this.

We just took a walk around the WVU Campus in Morgantown. With Covid going on there was hardly anyone out. We had a quite peaceful walk. WVU looks beautiful in the spring and I would highly suggest a walk around the campus now before the massive student invasion next fall.

We went just because we heard it was considered the 12th best Small College Town in America. Who would have thought. Well, WOW. It is probably better that 12th. The University is World Class- location, history, beautiful, huge, yes check all the boxes. Very impressive.

I have been to numerous conferences and arts festivals at this campus. The scenery is as beautiful as the school

Nice campus to see if you are just driving by. Not much to do around it. It has a lot of nice shops and restaurants and local coffee shops.

My son that is in the Communication Academy in high school heard about this camp and decided to give it a try. He will be a senior this year and is considering WVU especially since his older brother graduated from WVU. It gave the kids three days where they stayed in the dorms and had supervised activities for three full days. He loved the camp and enjoyed the Adventurous activities they did with zip lining through the trees and videoing everything and putting it on to tape with editing and classes on how to do it. Not only did these kids do well but also made friends at the same time. They actually put down their phones and actually socialized. If you have teenagers in 2019 you know just how important that is. Great experience before college.

A graduate and frequent returner to campus, this place is top fun for students, a great academic experience, and growing place. Traffic sucks though.

Very impressed! It is my daughters top choice. Everyone made us feel welcomed. Preferred some dorms over others. The tram and buses were easily accessible. Met a few professors and you could tell they lived their jobs. My daughter felt at home there. They have alot to offer. We are from out of state and I felt comfortable in the college town.

I spent 7 years of my life at WVU for my undergrad and Masters degrees. It was the best 7 years of my life. I enjoyed returning in October for a football game (Homecoming) reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

Lots to do, friendly people, clean campus. There are lots of places to eat and there are many book stores as well.

This campus is absolutely beautiful. The town of Morgantown it is located in is quaint and feels very small town. Friendly people all around.

Ride the PRT from Downtown to Evansdale campus to get the whole experience. The campus is set above the north flowing Monongahela River.

Lots of options for students in Morgantown. Pittsburgh airport is close enough for travellers. Industry is alive and well, so finding a job wouldn't be too hard.

They did a wonderful job.. it was all organized and even with traffic it wasn't bad.. I totally enjoyed myself..

Beautiful campus, restaurants are plentiful. many hospitals and doctor's offices. We often visit at least once a month

Great new addition to WVU campus and the food program is outstanding. I ate at Hugh Baby's , got a burger, may be one of the best ever. Also Little Donkey Taco's are outstanding !

This review is of the Downtown campus, one of three in Morgantown - we also made to one of the others, missing the medical campus.
This was a nice walk up the hill from Downtown. With a mix of older and newer buildings, my wife and I managed to get some nice photos of the campus. Stewart Hall was particularly impressive for photo ops.

Awesome cafeteria food. Even the hospital food. Been there several times. Very good french fries and salad. Have a large selection. The hospital has a very large Starbucks too.

What a wonderful college with so many amenities and history.I can't wait for my daughter to enjoy her college years here.

Very vibrant, colorful, active college town. Surprised that a small college has so much to offer. Love the campus box train, cheap foods close by, great staff at WVU.

We like morgantown, but hate the drive because we aren't used to the city we like staying at the Ronald McDonald House too. We stay there because my medical card pays for the stay because of my daughters medical condition.

Our daughter is a sophomore at WVU and is in the Nursing School. She is receiving a first class education and is involved in hands on training at the hospital on campus- The Ruby. The tuition is more than fair and the cost of living is much more reasonable than even our in state tuition in New Jersey.

Admittedly, I love university campuses and this one is quite pleasant.... the architecture is stunning....

We visited here for a State Math Field Day, and it was fantastic. The staff were all professional and courteous. The university was clean. It was great to see that my Alma mater still held a high level of pride.

WVU site is nice with lots to do nearby. Downtown has several good restaurants. This is a different place with some history and lovely mountain scenery.

Nice college in a midsize town surrounded by beautiful scenery. College is spread out but they have it very well organized with transportation options around campus.

Place was very nice and the food was absolutely excellent for the event we were attending. Great facility.

Went to WVU to see my son graduate from college, wonderful time, easy parking, amazing campus. Loved it!

Amazing time with my family and seeing where they attended school. The places they hung out at as well the different parts of the campus. We got to see some star athletes for both basketball and football walking on campus. I loved the tribute to where the old football stadium stood.

All sarcasm aside, if you want a President worth a grain of sand, an HR director, wait I'm sorry, Head of Talent worth not a speck of salt, a drunken student base and zero academic rigor than "Take me Home Country Roads" because just just hit Dante's Inferno.
Wear a Pitt T-shirt and get cussed out, even though they have no sport rivalry you cannot play a song or a sentence without harassment. I personally witnessed a faculty member pass a student who dropped out in week 1 with an "A".
WVU does nothing for the community and University Police hit up on #VivaWV and watch them play games with drunk or high college students on IG. Yes, we passed up burning sofa's and entered the Realm of Gee and how sad for the big 12, what an embarrassment.

University is well planned out and improving each year. Looking forward to seeing the new construction completed.

Great location on the river, rooms comfortable and clean, hotel situated close to WVU which was my reason for the visit. Great restaurant, found to have a healthy selection. Parking easy, would definitely return

The attentive staff and cleanliness. The selection, prices, and service in the restaurant could use some improvement.

My son has been attending WVU for 4 years, in his 5th year now. When he first told me he wanted to go there I was not sure what to expect. However, after having visited it and experienced it for these years, I have been very impressed. It is a really good university with extremely helpful faculty and administration. Unlike some universities, WVU wants to help your child succeed. I have experience with other schools and that is not always the case. It has been a great experience - academically, obviously socially, but also a really good growth experience.

Always majestic and impressive. This was the first time in my life I have been there and there wasn’t a football game going on. So it was nice to see it like that.

Campus and surrounding very nice. Lots of stuff to do, no matter what kind of stuff you are into. They have something to offer everyone. Police are rite on it with the parking meters. We got a ticket for $5 for being in a spot for a half hour.

Daughter and I did visit since she was considering WVU as grad school. We noticed some little tram that transported students back and forth campus and to various places in city. Cute. There was soooo much new construction going on. Hard to get around streets. Looks like the University is bursting at the seams! We will take other reviewers word that the campus is beautiful. It was late winter and the construction was not conducive to beautiful views. BUT I see potential in the future once construction is done! Daughter is going elsewhere but we wish WVU the best. I might mention to college age people my daughter did mention she noticed lots of manly men by the Natural Resources area of campus. So I guess there were some good views for some of us.

We walked around the campus and took the campus tour. The staff was so helpful as well as the guide. Both of my teenagers loved the school and it felt right. Hoping we will be back soon.

WVU put on an excellent program for potential future Mountaineers. Very organized, well run and lots of super friendly students and staff to answer all questions.

The nicest university employees we have ever met. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The atmosphere at WVU is positive and energetic. We loved it!

West Virginia University is an amazing School. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and it feels like home to my daughter already. Orientation was very busy full of information and covered pretty much every single thing I had a question on. Kudos to the staff for making this an enjoyable two days for my daughter who's coming in as a freshman and my mother who needed wheelchair access to most of the activities. Go Mountaineers

What can I say? It's what makes Morgantown great! Love having the diversity and culture that the University brings. Plus I work there so I have that going for me.

We just recently moved into a vacation home we had at Cheat Lake. We are really enjoying the area. There is so much to do here especially sporting events, but also cultural and general recreational activities. We live outside the city so we don't have to deal with the city traffic, noise, etc. the city has two interstates and a highway system that enables one to get to shopping and many other areas without actually going into the city and avoiding city traffic. We've only actually lived here for a few months now, but so far it's been excellent

I like the WVU campus. The town seems safe and the PRT is fun to ride. The student rec center's pool is fun. The whirlpool part which is like a lazy river is a nice touch.

West Virginia University offers a vast array of study areas. The school facilities are easy to access and up to date. The school leads the nation in areas of learning such as biometrics and robotics. For in-state students, the college is very affordable. The city of Morgantown is built into the mountains. As a result any non-vehicular transportation can be difficult.

First visit to see the university. Very impressive grounds and buildings. Neatly kept. Amazed at how close to the city yet felt so lush and far away. Friendly staff. Mountain lair was amazing. Whether you are looking at the school to attend or not it is worth walking around campus.

What a Beautiful Campus, old with the new and so clean, did not want to leave! Walked around great old buildings with brand new modern buildings!

The Mountaineers are truly in the mountains. There are some beautiful views. The campus is sprawling - a vehicle here is a must. I liked that there was lots of newer architecture mixed with the old. This is a very large school but with a small town feel.

Alot has changed around campus (for the better), but it still felt like home! Lots of energy and full of young, educated partiers!!!

Great hospital and wonderful staff. Made us feel like we were honorary mountaineers! The care and understanding of all members of our traveling party was second to none.

Premier university in WV. A Big 12 school with many nationally ranked sports teams (Sweet Sixteen basketball and bowl game football).

This is the hub of the downtown campus. It has many offices as well as a food court, computers, free wifi, a restaurant, bowling alley, the campus radio station, and a copying center. There is entertainment on Thurs., Fri., and Sat. nights called Up All Night with free food al midnight. It is the first place to visit on campus.

The sprawling campus is very nice especially in the fall when we traveled. The area is friendly and nicely developed

Fantastic school with fantastic people. Have been there twice before making the final decision and everytime we go back we are more and more impressed by the staff and ANYONE we talk to and with. Looking forward to having four great years there!

I graduated from Frostburg University in the late 60's. Morgantown reminded of that kind of atmosphere on steroids. Large student presence in town. Variety of places to eat. Stayed at Marriott Riverfront and it was lovely. Obviously, football reigns supreme on campus.Students were friendly. Brunch at Table 9 was good. Chicken and waffles and omelette both good.

Brought the family so we could check out the university. This was an unofficial visit so we toured on our own , just a bit of a walk about. Every person we spoke with was friendly. The city was busy but not overwhelming. Hopefully we come back for an official tour in the future.

Everything was great the hotel was perfect . We were there only overnight so there was not much we could do other than the graduation of our grandaughter.

We enjoyed walking around the campus of this large university. It was cold but still enjoyable on a clear day!

We toured the university, but it was not one of my favorites. The campus is spread out in different areas without many "green" areas. Lots of hills and old houses mixed in. They didn't even show us the Library as part of the tour. Not a good sign when selling the academics of your campus.

Went to drop daughter off for college. Loved the lay out. The campus Was close to all attractions and necessities. Feel very safe leaving my baby in Morgantown

I went to WVU to drop off my sister for her first year of college. The campus is enormous. And the area around it is so peaceful and clean. It rained one of the days I was there and the place looked magical. Big fan of the architecture. Great food options on and off campus too.

What's not to like about WVU? Maybe traffic, but that's pretty universal, and you always transportation options besides driving. Walking everywhere here can eliminate the need for the gym!
Wonderful School! Go Mountaineers!

On a recent trip with my wife and kids to West Virginia. We stayed at the hotel M next to the university of WV. The hotel accommodations where very good. The room was nicely remodelled and very clean. The staff was also very polite and attentive. We would recommend Hotel M to anyone who wants a nice clean place to stay. And the fee continental breakfast was great.

I am an alumni of WVU and it is a great school with a great price if that's what your looking for. Not to mention the football team is good and the town is very nice!

Faculty friends used to jokingly call WVU "K-Mart U" because the low cost (cheaper for NJ students than their home state colleges) but still with value -- just not top tier, at all. While WVU still is top tier in only a few colleges and departments, it offers fine education possibilities for students who will take the time and effort to find them. All three of my children graduated from WVU and now two of them have advanced degrees. All have demanding professional professions. In addition, WVU is located in Morgantown, a sparkling Appalachian city still winning lots of awards.

Attended the open house for prospective students today. We were running late and three engaging engineering students went out of their way to assist us and find our tour group that was already underway.
This is a very affordable University both for in state and out of state. Great engineering programs. Two main campuses in Morgantown. Definitely a good experience.

Great School and wonderful people. Everyone is very helpful and nice. My son fell in love with it and Morgantown.

What a great Campus. I was in Morgantown WV and it was so beautiful. They have a ton of different buildings. You have to drive around morgantown and see it.

The School has an excellent Campus and The City is most welcoming to students, and their families. The City is surprisingly Progressive. We are opening A NEW BUSINESS THERE IN THE FALL. excited to become new residents of Morgantown.

Staff helpful and social they help my niece feel welcome and eased her tensions about going to school at WVU

My son attended a baseball showcase at WVU. He truly loved the campus, atmosphere, baseball field, and showcase.

WVU is a wonderful place to work and the students who go to school here are so fortunate to have such a fine place for their education. I've worked in several different university settings and this by far is the best.

The Campus has changed a lot since my cousin - and my uncle -graduated from WVU. It brings back a lot of memories

Brought our youngest son for new student orientation. Checkin at the Colosseum was smooth and there was minimal wait time for the buses to take us to campus. Everyone were encountered throughout the day was extremely helpful. The information was on point and all questions were answered. Registering for classes with the academic advisors was quick and painless. We will feel very comfortable leaving our son here in the Fall. Thanks WVU for all your great work. Let's Go!

WVU is one of the more interesting campuses I have visited and is definitely worth the visit if you are in the area. The campus is built on a hill which makes for a decent workout even if you are taking the official university tour but the views are outstanding. If you are visiting during the school year be sure to test out the Personal Transportation System!

We have made multiple visits to WVU as my daughter will be a freshman starting there in August. I love the university and campus even more every time I visit. We were there yesterday for new student orientation. As my only child will be moving in soon. I know that my daughter will be at a great, safe place. They really make the students feel welcome, and like a family. It has so much to offer and Morgantown is such a great city.

West Virginia University is located in a quiet and picturesque place with greenery and waterfront in the vicinity. The building structures are of different architectural style and its a pleasure to walk around the locality. The view from the university area is awesome with the hills and the majestic monongahela river flowing smoothly.

I am a student here, but WVU is a great university! It's beautiful and spread out and Woodburn Hall is really pretty too! It is a great place for education and I love it here. The only possible negative is if you're walking around the campus, there are lots of hills/steps!

we went to a girls volleyball game and really enjoyed it the facility was very nice and the price was right!
FREE!

Great hospitl with wonder doctors nurses,& staff.Has a easy entry and close parking. They give you a warm and caring welcome.

A working person's university free of the picturesque campuses and goofy looking people wearing dinner wear to football games. This is for hard working / hard playing people to get a great education at a fair price... HAIL!

Marriottts continue to excell !!!! This newly renovated hotel is contemporary, extremely clean rooms,
incredible bedding and pillows make it nearly impossible to get anywhere on time and staff is beyond
accommodating. A Starbucks in the lobby completes your stay!

We went and watched the women's basketball game. Really enjoyed it and the fact it was a supercharged game and the women won.

The environment of West Virginia University makes it a great place to go to school. The students of WVU have a lot of school spirit and school pride. The school is large and has an event going on every week. Sports are always having games to let off some steam at. The people are great. They hire great teachers so I would strongly say there isn't any other place I'd like to be.

The concert hall is quite nice, excellent seating, comfy chairs. Sight lines are uninterrupted from any angle. Sound quality is good. All around good place to enjoy a concert.
Now, if there only someway to quiet disrespectful concert goers who think it acceptable to talk during the performance, IDIOTS.

WVU has a reputation for being a party school, and the residents of Morgantown like to complain about the students frequently. WVU Students become excited after a Football game, because they have pride in their University. If you need help finding a building, or anything in Morgantown, the Students of WVU are more willing to help you out than the Residents in Morgantown.

I was in town with my parents, and my family for my son's graduation. It was a wonerful time. We attended a buffet/presentation at the Colliseum before Convocation for CPASS. Everything was really nice for the ceremony. The band was awesome!
Thanks for the wonderful memories! Go Mountaineers!!!!!
Campus Visit
West Virginia University in Morgantown is a great college campus to visit. We took a tour bus all throughout campus and visited everything from football stadium, the coliseum, health science Center, student recreation center, as well as a college dorm.
If you plan on visiting the campus I recommend you call the welcome center and book a tour.
