You'll find more powder here than on Tammy Baker's face. Its a great place to ski and often has snow when other resorts are shut down. Only one resort has more snow... ask me and I'll tell you where. So go for it. The only problem here is snowboarders and skiers on the same slopes can sometimes cause crashes. If you are a beginner, stay on the bunny slopes or ski at your own peril! ENJOY!

I made the mistake of booking a weekend of skiing here during the Presidents Day weekend. I've decided to break my review down into a list of pros and cons with letter grade assignments:
Pros:
(1) Wolf Creek has an excellent quantity and quality of snow that makes for a great ski experience. Grade: A-
(2) The hamburgers at the main lodge are good. Grade: B+
Cons:
(1) The overfill parking lot is not paved and is extremely muddy. I had to spend 30 minutes to clean off my shoes and ski boots. This is unacceptable! Grade: D-
(2) Most of the onsite staff seem to be a bit rude and uneducated. At every onsite place (from interacting with the lift operators to making purchases in the gift shop) that I visited, I had to endure terse comments from the resort staff. Grade: D
(3) The Mens restroom beneath the Prospector Grill has a community pig trough for a urinal. Enough said. Grade: F
Side Comment: I think this place makes enough money to get rid of the pig trough.
(4) The dining area at the Prospector lodge does not have proper ventilation, and is too smokey. I had to leave during the middle of my lunch because I could not breathe. Grade: D-
(5) The dining area at the main base camp lodge is grossly inadequate, and there is not enough table space. I had to eat my lunch standing up over the trash can because there was not a square inch of available space. Grade: F
Side comment: once again, I think the owners are cutting corners in a critical area.
(6) Wolf Creek is an independent ski area, and (unlike other ski resorts in Colorado) generally ignores the National Ski Patrol organization and patrol staff from other areas. Grade: D
(7) Wolf Creek is an isolated ski hill. There is absolutely nothing to do in the surrounding area, and Pagosa Springs is pathetic with dilapidated bars, and limited dining choices. Grade: D+
Overall, I did not enjoy my trip to Wolf Creek, and will never return unless the owners make improvements in the listed con areas. At minimum, the dining facilities need to be upgraded, and the overfill lots should be paved. Get rid of the pig trough!

Great people, lots of runs plenty for all level of skiers, snow is awesome. Will be back for sure. Cant wait

Our family really enjoyed wolf creek ski resort. They had good food options also. And was not outrageous to eat there šš¼. Good food and good prices. The lift tickets or fairly priced as well. If we couldāve had more snow we would not of left a day early. Thatās not their fault. We really love the fact that they had a photographer at the top of the lift to take her picture.

Great snow, wonderful and helpful staff and instructors and fantastic hamburgers in the grill for those of us who did not ski.. Not at all crowded during spring break, our kids got to ski as much as they wanted. Almost no waiting in the lift lines.

We have been coming to Wolf Creek for over 25 years. This is the vacation my wife waits for every year. They have a great little kids program called Wolf Pups. Both of our kids have used it and loved it. My wife and son still do half day lessons when we first arrive because the refresher is nice and the trainers are great and personable. My son is a teen who boards and loves this mountain. It provides challenges at all levels. Recent updates have made it even better with a new lift. Plenty of parking with tons of shuttles running constantly. Not only will we be back, we plan to spend lengthy periods of time here after we retire.

We visited Wolf Creek several times last winter and the snow was amazing! The runs are awesome, the staff is very friendly and the food at the lodge is delicious!!! Great place to hit the slopes!

We are on our 7th year in a row skiing Wolf Creek. Even in a light year (like 2018), they still received over 200 inches of snow. The resort is super family friendly for food and beverage and parking lot turns into a great tail gating lunch break.
Avoid Texas Mountain week if you can. Every other week of the year with the exception of Christmas Break is an amazing experience. Also, check out the web cams to see how much real snow they have to get excited about your visit. Ski rental in town or at Wolf Creek is easy and affordable and the Lift ticket price is fair compared to their northern counterparts.

We love Wolf Creek! Itās one of only a few weāve visited and we havenāt wanted to go elsewhere. Itās affordable and we enjoy all the different trails they have. Everyone who works there is very gracious and helpful! Itās always a great time!

Great runs, great snow, great for kids, somewhat of an old school ski mentality, but we love skiing here and have returned over and over again.

Always has snow. Great mix of runs for all skill sets. Value priced for family skiing. Been going for years and it is one of the best Colorado ski areas for the money. Hot springs nearby to soak apres ski aches.

This is a Great Place to ski and snowboard. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I give them a thumbs up for having to deal with so many different personalities, some who think they are all it.

First time I have skied in 20+ yrs and it was a great place. Both my kids wanted to snowboard and picked it up wonderfully. Lift lines went faster than I figured they would. The whole staff is very helpful and encouraging, even if you don't take a school. The Raven run is a great run to take your beginners(kid) to the top and by the time they get to the bottom, they will have it.

As is the case with wolf creek it is awesome if there is good snow but if there isnāt new snow it gets skied off really fast since itās a small resort . Love the small old fashioned resort feel where they still serve good food for reasonable prices unlike all the vail resorts!!!
When there is fresh snow there isnāt much better than wild creek... just hope your timing is good and you get a big snow while you are
There!!! They get more snow than anyone in colo!!

Compact ski resort at the top of Wolf Creek pass offers a wide variety of beginner to expert slopes, fresh powder tree glades and bowls, and, when not constrained by a pandemic, a nice building with a restaurant. If you are up for hiking there are hike-able peaks and bowls for expert downhill/glade skiing. They have ski school lessons for all ages. There is also a groomed nordic track for free usage that is good for snowshoeing and seems pet friendly also. Best bet for lodging is in Pagosa.

Great place for the family! Laid back ski lodge and great place to learn to ski. We really enjoyed our time here!

The old saying " you get what you pay for" really applies here. Extremely crowded and the lift lines and common areas are all bottled necked at the base. Most workers are friendly enough but not like other resorts we've been too. Runs are short in most cases and the lifts are very slow. They are GREEN POWERED which ous very nice. For the kids skiing there are a few crowded runs for them but this was the first place we've been where ski school teaches that's it if okay to stop in the middle of narrow runs and block other skiers access to the point you have to stop to go around.
With all that said it is cheaper than most resorts and now we've checked it off. Although we will never go back it is okay for someone, especially in the off weeks.

The resort was packed but the staff was friendly and helpful with any of our questions since we were first timers. Even though not everybody liked skiing the experience was fun for all. The places to eat can have long slow lines so be prepared.

First time to ski and it was AWESOME. I did a day of ski lessons with Ted...I donāt recommend him. But we got the job done.

We went to Wolf Creek to celebrate our sonās birthday. We reserved lift tickets online and we didnāt have any problems getting them to start our day of ski and snowboarding.
Wolf creek is taking precautions and everyone must wear a mask most of the time. We didnāt have to wait long in lines to get on lifts. They had plenty of snow to ski on. We are beginners and there are several greens. Staff was cleaning bathrooms and assisting customers on the slopes.
Due to Covid- you have to bring your own water and food. We brought coolers of water and food. There are picnic tables set apart that are available. We took a lunch break and ate at our car.
This is a reasonably priced ski resort. They have plenty slopes for all levels. It was a fun time!!

Since it was our first time skiing, we took the beginner class, which, wasn't any more expensive than getting lift tickets in the first place. However, the staff generally seemed more annoyed at trying to help first-timers than excited to get us involved. I had to quit after the 2 hour lesson because my knees and hip were killing me, and I found out when I took my boots off that on side was not properly latched, so maybe that was part of the problem. My wife had much better success and a better experience, since she ended up being the only one to go back for the 2nd half of the lesson.
Overall, I didn't feel like they charged too much. The rental equipment was nice (minus the broken ski pole that my wife discovered half way though the lesson, but was easy to switch out). The price for the lessons was good $67 for 4 hours of lessons with lift tickets included for the lower lifts.

Folks you need to be tough and want to ski. The Trip to the Ski Area is very long up the
mountain; just almost to the continental divide. You shouldn't go in 12 - 17 Degree weather. Winds gust to 30 to 45. My wife begin crying on the way up; so I had to come
back down the mountain or rather the pass. The accomdations in Pagosa Springs are good; they have the "hot natural spring" facilities, which at 95 to 115 degrees is a little on the warm side for me. Plenty of bars and eating places. The town is not as credible as Cripple Creek or Aspen, you get what you pay for. As I stated you need to be of tough and rough constitution. this is in late February 25, 26, spring break is coming and the lift tickets are priced right, also lessons. My place is family owned home; so it is quite, the bears, elk and deer are plentiful quite charming. Try it, at least you can say you skied the highest ski area in the U.S. You will have a good time; you will have to work at it, you know how people can become grouche
on this trips that are not perfect.

Booked this adventure ~3 weeks in advance. Each member (including 2 teenagers) loved this adventure. We had more fun than expected for sure.
This company has several operations. Had some confusion about location via emails, but was able to reach a helpful person via phone & verify quickly.
Our guide - Daniel - was awesome & made sure we each had the best experience possible. SO FUN!

We went to Wolf Creek with some other families. They all love it because it always has so much snow, it is so reasonably priced, etc... We are a beginner skiing family with young children. This is not the best place for that! Ha.
Pros:
1) Price! We weren't wanting to spend a lot on our first family ski vacation and that is a big reason we chose Wolf Creek. Full day ski school was only $90 or something per day. Lift tickets were very reasonable.
2) Snow: Tons of snow. And it's gorgeous
Cons:
1). Ski school: We booked full day ski school for our three young children 8, 5 & 5. It was priced very well and a reason we chose to go to Wolf Creek. The hours weren't that long - I believe 9-2. Also, you have to bring your child's ski equipment to and from ski school every day. You can't rent it there. And even if you are doing multiple day lessons you still have to get all of their equipment and bring it back to your lodging and back the next day. And the ski school is up a gnarly hills and not convenient. So you are lugging all your kids ski equipment way up the mountain and then have to lug it all back down. Our kids weren't old enough to handle it all themselves and so that meant mommy and daddy had to schlep all their stuff up and down. Seriously we were so worn out by the time we got them situated, it felt like we had nothing left to ski. Also, pickup is kinda a nightmare and chaotic. I don't have anything to compare it to so maybe all ski school pickup is like that. That said, our kids were all skiing by the end of day 1 so they did a good job with that!
2) We didn't find the mountain laid out very conveniently at all. Have to park ways away, lug all your stuff, then there are tons of stairs to get anywhere and hard to get to the different lifts. I'm guessing we are newbies, so for people in great shape and know what's going on, maybe this isn't an issue. Also the ski rental shop was not convenient to the lift. I can't remember if we could leave our equipment there, but I feel like we couldn't which meant we had to lug our stuff back and forth each day.
3) There weren't very many green runs. And the green run there was was on the side of the mountain with a cliff where it felt like your kid could ski right off the ledge. I'm not normally a worrier, but I really wished there were some green runs in the middle of the mountain where it didn't seem like my kid was going to go off the ledge. We aren't strong enough skiers to help our kids out so this was a real issue.
4) No lodging at the base. I think with little kids we just needed to stay at the base of the mountain where we could hop onto lifts and drop kids at a convenient school. This is not the resort for that! That said the drive up to the mountain is truly gorgeous. We enjoyed doing it every morning.
5) No tubing or sledding options. The tubing place which I think is in Pagosa was closed when we were there. And we were told we could sled at this place on the mountain but it is seriously a random place you can go where you have to hike up in snow where each step you sink into it waist deep. So it wasn't very conducive to actually sledding. With young kids, it's nice to have better options for other snow activities.
I think people who know what they are doing would love this place. I do not think it's for the inexperienced skier. I'm only writing this so other families know that. I hate that our first ski experience was so negative! We are going to Angel Fire this year which is supposed to be very family friendly with easier terrain and hoping for a better experience. We also probably would have liked it if we didn't have three kids in tow and it was just the adults.

This was our first time skiing/snowboarding and we absolutely loved it. The lift lines were short and even though there was several ppl, it never felt too crowded. It was a little crowded down by the concessions/seating area but we were able to find a table both times we went down there. We went with people who were familiar with the ski resort so we did not have trouble navigating. They had several different options from beginner slopes to more advanced and the snow and weather was perfect while there.

We have been going to Wolf Creek for 10 years. Itās our favorite spring break spot. Prices are good, snow is always plentiful. Lift lines are minimal. We love this place.

Wolf Creek is a great place to ski. Particular thanks to the rental shop folks who were all really invested in their customers. I also overheard a conversation with the ski instructors and they were doing a really good job of reassuring new skiers. I rented telemark equipment. They have a great selection of skis and boots - much better than anywhere in town. The ski area itself has tons of terrain, great tree skiing, and two high-speed quads that get you quickly to a large portion of the mountain. This ain't Vail, but that's the beauty of it. Just good people, good skiing, good atmosphere.

Love this area! This year the snow isnāt plentiful, but we managed to ski and enjoy ourselves. It was a bit icy and bear in a few spots but they continue to groom it and try to work on the slopes throughout the day. Will definitely return!

Every time we have been there, the snow is incredible. With their high speed lifts, it's only a 5 minute lift ride to get to the top of the mountain. A day of skiing at Wolf Creek is certainly worth the 70 dollar lift ticket. Highly recommend.

It is fun and usually lots of powder and snow. But even this year is fun with not as much snow.If you want to eat i recommend the upper lodge it is awesome and has great bacon burgers.

Not a bad resort, good skiing ā· and staff is very friendly. I think they couldāve handled the Covid situation better and had more people working the cafe and reduced the lines. The lift lines were very long as well.

Had and amazing week at Wolf Creek with the family. If you like skiing powder this is the place. We saw more snow than we had ever seen in our lives. Stayed in Southfork and even though the weather was terrible they had the road passable each day.

We went skiing on Thanksgiving weekend and it was awesome! The lines were short, there was plenty of snow, and it wasn't crowded at all at the lodge and on the decks.Being the grandparents, we sat on the deck and watched the grandkids ski. There were plenty of people to make it interesting but not so crowded that you felt like the waiting for everything was the experience not the skiing. The help here is also great.Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We rented gear in Pagosa Springs rather than at the ski area and it made it very easy to get to skiing upon arrival. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip and plan on making it a family tradition.

Skiing was good, when we could see. Had white out conditions one day. Service crew preparing food works hard, could use more help, but like many places the staff is limited.

This ski area didnāt have an over abundance of people and we had lots of fun for two days learning to ski and the teens learning to snowboard. So much fun!

One kid did wolf pack ski school two full. days. The other kid did beginner ski school one day and hot shot ski school the next day. They both learned a lot both days and we enjoyed skiing together after that. The slopes were very nice for a march trip!

We decided to check out Wolf Creek Ski Resort since our son lived nearby in Trinidad and had never been skiing. This was an opportunity to visit him and get sign him up for ski lessons. Him and his younger brother took adult classes together and enjoyed it. The instructor was great. The resort had a lot of easy slopes to learn on and several close by more challenging slopes so we could stay near. As promised, there was lots of snow that week. The first day it really came down but after a day in town the sun came out and made for more visual enjoyment. Everyone was very nice and extremely helpful. Definitely would plan on going back.

If you are a skier and have never skied Wolf Creek, you don't know what you have been missing. They have some of the best snow in Colorado.
We were there the last few days of December 2016. It was a little crowded on the 29th, Usually it is not that crowed; however, there was not really any snow at the New Mexico resorts so a lot of people headed to Colorado.
On the 30th, there was not that many people and the snow was still awesome! Wolf Creek is ok for beginners, but is better suited for intermediate and expert skiers. If you like a lot of powder and trees to ski in and around, this is the place for you.

Fun ski resort for the whole family. Have been here multiple times and always has lots of snow! Slopes for all levels of skiers. Plenty of help if needed. Staff is usually pretty friendly.

We skied 6 straight days (some half days) and my wife (a first time skier) said, "This was the best vacation ever!!!" (And she's been on a lot of good ones!)
All of the workers at the resort were extremely kind and helpful and the snow was awesome!!
Be sure you don't make the mistake we made and walk too far. Drop off at the drop off point and ride the shuttle up, if you have to park near the bottom.
Beware that the ski rental at the mountain does not rent helmets, but the rental in town does.
In sum, we had a fantastic time and are looking forward to going back next year - our third year in a row.

My wife signed up for a group lesson which turned out to a private one with Ted who took her from snow plow to parallel skiing. Nine inches of powder made all the runs fantastic. There is a small bar at the lodge with friendly staff who stayed open for us, but not much really in terms after ski activities.

We enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at Wolf Creek. The parking threw us off at first, but it was very efficient.
Get there early, especially over Christmas Break, to avoid a line of traffic over the pass and parking far away.

Absolutely amazing and well organized ski area with good security, fresh equipment rentals, millions of riding options, clean and friendly. Love it!

I skied and snowshoed the past week while my friends downhill skied. The beginning of the week was quite warm and was great for snowshoeing. After the last snow had freshly groomed Nordic tracks which were a blast. The access trail is pretty steep. Definitely recommend walking down that section.

I got the pleasure of attending ski school this week and it was awesome!! My instructor, Miagi (sorry if I misspelled it) was terrific!! He was patient and so much fun!! Wolf Creek ski resort is beautiful!!

We took our grandkids to Wolf Creek for their first time skiing, and our first time at this resort. We couldn't have chosen better. Even during Spring break the crowds were not overwhelming. The staff, and instructors were great. The rental process went really quickly, and lift ticket prices were about half of the bigger resorts. "The most snow in Colorado".... you can believe it. We had a powder day about every other day.
Wolf Creek is a bit out of the way, but we will ski there again.

The resort was great. This is a perfect place for beginner skiers or family skiing. It was not too crowded and a great place to learn to ski.

My wife and I have skied here a number of times, and it is by far our favorite ski destination. The amount of snow, number of trails, short lines, and challenging hike/ski opportunities all combine to make Wolf Creek an awesome place for skiing and snowboarding.

Such a find! Cheap prices (lift tickets, food, drinks, parking), impeccable snow, lots of varied terrain to explore, and probably one of the friendliest and most authentic staff at any ski mountain Ive experienced in over 35 years of skiing. Not much vertical, which lands you on the lifts often but the lack of crowds more than makes up for it (I never waited more than 5 or 6 chairs before onboarding even during a major winter holiday weekend).
Getting to the mountain can be a bit of a chore but I actually find that fact to be a plus because it keeps the Vail types far away. The group that goes to Wolf Creek is fun, spirited and a blast to ski with.
Awesome mountain!

I have been here more than a few times but it has been about 10 years. I have never been here without a good dumping of fresh powder. In fact my best powder days have been on this mt with the great glades and steeps near Alberta lift and in the Waterfall. Kids are more beginner and had a great time with very affordable lessons and lift tickets under $100 ($67?) which is impossible to find in Summit CO. Flew into ALQ NM and drove 3 hours north. Easy enough and the bonus of great Fry bread and some of The best Chili Verde to be had in Aztec on the way north.

I have lived in Colorado for 13 years although itās my soul home so really I have always been here. No matter what trumped up pretentious stuff you hear about Vail or summit county or anywhere else ..... without a doubt if you really want big pow, true skiers and no attitude then you head to wolf creek. Itās absolutely my fave resort (and I donāt use the word resort) to ski! Itās magical. Itās the best and it deserves all the accolades it gets! I love you wolf creek!

I have shared my thoughts on social media about Wolf Creek so many times. My husband being an experienced skier and myself only six years there is a place for any level. One thing that impresses me is the care the instructors give to everyone even if you're not in their lesson. Watching them work with physically challenged children just brings tears of joy. Very family oriented.

Not only does this place have virtually no wait times to get on a lift, but there are so many runs that more often than not you find yourself cruising alone and it's amazing!
That, paired with the inexpensive lift tickets, and you have a recipe for an amazing weekend!

Do not go here unless you want to get COVID-19. The employees are breaking COVID-19 state regulations and have little regard for public safety. The man working the overflow lot (Snow Shed) between 10-11:00am on Sunday, January 25th was not wearing a mask and forcing 20 people to get on a van together. A handful of skiiers were not even wearing a mask on the van that I was forced into. The bus states that the maximum is 50% capacity, but every seat was full. When I inquired if 20 people was 50% capacity, the man working the bus line lied and stated "yes". Additionally, the employees are making groups from different households join together on ski lifts with no open seats between them and are not enforcing masks to be worn. In the lift lines, you will be sardined in with hundreds of people not wearing masks. I am highly disappointed in the ski resort.

Wolf Creek is a beautiful place to ski. They get lot of snow here and that makes for great ski conditions. It is an inspiring place to ski. Go see it for yourself and see if it doesn't inspire you.

Wolf Creek Ski lodge is located on the outside of a nearby town called Pagosa Springs Colorado. This ski resort is desolate because not many people know about it. This place is about 5 hours away from a major city. No matter your skill level, Wolf Creek offers a wide variety of slopes for people at all stages. You can choose to take the wide snowy path down the mountain, or you could choose the more scenic route through the trees. The lodge looks like a log cabin on the outside, and there is always a fire in the fireplace to keep everyone warm on the inside. Renting skis and snowboards is simple because they have an organized system where the renters get in a line and they get all the gear at once. There are several booths where you can get gear, so there is never a long line of people waiting around. After a long day of skiing or snowboarding, Wolf Creek Lodge offers a large variety of food. They are known for the best burgers because of the way they are cooked. The burger comes fresh from the grill, and itās crispy brown with a thin slice of American cheese on top. The bun is heated up in the oven, and then the burger is put inside of it. They have a toppings bar, so you can load up your burger with as many toppings as you want. People adore these burgers because itās the perfect food to come back to after an exhausting day out on the slopes. If youāre the kind of person who likes to stay in and not go skiing or snowboarding then Wolf Creek can help make you comfortable. There is a huge window overlooking the mountain, so you can look out and watch everyone on their slope runs. This lodge is up in the mountains, and the cell service isnāt great, but Wolf Creek lodge has got that covered with its free wifi. If you want to brag about coming to this lodge, then you can buy a sweatshirt, t-shirt, sticker, helmet, etc. at the Wold Creek store. If you get up to the mountain and realize that you have forgotten gloves, then the Wold Creek store has got you covered. This is a family-friendly place where lots of people choose to spend their day. You can buy a day pass, or you can buy a three-day pass. Since the location of this lodge is far away from any cities, there are some days where it feels like you have the whole mountain to yourself. This place is a great way to escape from work and school. When the day is over, a service bus will come to pick you up and take you to your car so that you wonāt have to walk all the way to your car with a handful of snow gear. This lodge is a relaxing place and the staff does everything they can to make it as comfortable as possible. Everyone should come to this lodge and experience the beauty of nature while on the slopes, and experience the best burger ever made while coming off the slopes.

Our group of 5 adults and 6 teens visited Wolf Creek on November 19. We had 4 teens who had never skied, and the rest were beginners. The teens took a class, and I was impressed that the instructors came into the ski rental equipment area to help them put on the boots correctly. They were also very concerned about some of the kids who didnāt have sunglasses. They found some goggles for them!
The only drawback for beginner skiers who are not taking a class is that there is not a beginner area with a handle tow or magic carpet to practice on before going up to the green runs. The magic carpet is for 5-8 yo only. The green runs off the Nova lift arenāt too bad - the one to the right is less steep than the left. The conditions werenāt bad at all!
There is a lodge and a bar (try the yummy almond joy hot chocolate!) and the prices were reasonable. You cannot rent helmets at Wolf Creek so rent them in Pagosa Springs beforehand.
For anyone who wants to sled or tube on their own, there is a scenic overlook about 1-2 miles south of the Wolf Creek ski area with lots of snow!
We will be back!

Very nice & hospitable manager & great location & rates. And 2 outdoor hot tubs!! Getting ready for major renovation.

This was the first trip to a ski resort for our family and didnāt really know what to expect. We signed up the our boys for snowboarding and ski lessons, which they learned to enjoy the activities very much. All the staffs there were very helpful and accommodating to all our needs. The snowboarding instructor for our boys was outstanding and very helpful. The altitude will take a little bit time to adjust, I was always gasping for air on the first day there. The snow was excellent during our visit, there were lots of powder. I think it had like 38ā of snow fall the day prior to our arrival. Overall, we were really happy with our experience there.

The skiing at Wolf Creek was great, the whole family had fun and there were lots of routes to choose from. Lodge facilities were less cozy. It was spring break week, so the main lodge was packed. Overall my take on the lodge was that it pretty utilitarian, mainly just a cafeteria. Some of our group visited the lodge up top and enjoyed taking a break up there. The ski school was extremely busy, but my kids did a 1-hour private lesson. The instructor was kind and attentive and helped them get the basics down.

Beautiful experience, plenty of snow and many slope options. When you get tired there's options to order food, hot chocolate or Beer!!!!!!!!!

Wolf Creek is the best ski area in Colorado! Reasonably priced, short lift lines and the tree skiing areas make this area the best in Colorado. From my first time skiing there in 1973 to last weekend, I always feel home at Wolf Creek!

We went skiing for the first time and had a great time. We took group lessons which helped us learn the basics. My kids and husband did pretty well but I decided on a 1 hour private lesson the 2nd day. That was the best idea for me and helped me to have a fun day and make it down a green slope. We brought our lunch and ate at our van so I can't comment on the restaurants. The bathrooms were clean and some had roomier stalls than others. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I can't compare to other ski resorts but we will be back.

Selfishly I don't want more people to discover Wolf Creek! It is the best ski area I've skied! It has all the terrain that any level of skier could want. It is relatively uncrowded, so we spent all our time skiing instead of waiting in line. Extra special praise for their ski school, and Josh specifically. Our 11 yr old son went from not even being able to complete a turn on a green run to being able to ski blues and even a part of a black confidently after just a 1 hour lesson.

Had a great time skiing in perfect conditions. Lines were not too long and moved quickly even for holiday. Great place to ski.

The snow was AMAZING and you can't beat the price for the quality. There was a huge variety of runs and it's so easy to get off the main runs and go through the trees. I loved it here and plan on going back many, many times.

I saw something online about how much snow Wolf Creek recently received, and had to check it out since I was in the area for a long weekend with my son. I'm really glad we did. This is a fun resort with some great snow at a very reasonable price.
The wait for purchasing lift tickets and renting ski equipment wasn't bad. I was impressed with the courtesy of the staff at every stop. The lines at the lifts moved at a decent speed as well. With my last two Colorado ski stops being Vail and Beaver Creek, it was refreshing to eat at Wolf Creek without having to spend enough for a car payment.
The mountain was well groomed, and offered a solid variety of slopes. Despite the parking lot being crowded, I felt as if we had plenty of room to operate while we were skiing. Can't wait to get back next season.

As avid skiers, we look for fun terrain and good, plentiful snow.
For 20-21, snow is in short supply. But at wolf creek there is plenty!
Love the tree skiing at this place. Alberta lift is awesome for getting out in solitude on the mountain and skiing through trees and moguls and trails on the way down. Such fun!
Plenty of terrain for a couple days of skiing, and while we didnāt have a powder day, this place would be spectacular on a powder day with so much space in the trees.
Beautiful Mountain Viewās from the top.
Skiing in general is expensive. Yet this place is modest and āaffordableā for skiing, with $80 weekday lift tix and $90 wkd tix.
Can ski here for two days for the price of one in summit county. Well worth it!
Itās not a fancy resort, but a āskiers placeā. Skiing on a college budget.
While no lodging at the place, get over it, cuz of the skiing. Stay half hour to hour away in Pagosa springs, Alamosa, or further in Durango. The drive is beautiful.
We drove all the way down from Denver after skiing a day in summit county. This place the snow was better, softer and more plentiful. So much fun skiing!
Only issue: on wkds the lifts near the lodge can get backed up some. Probably cuz most of the greens are there. But the back country lifts donāt! (Bonus for the blue and black run skiers).

Skied there 12/29/20. Very disappointing, they were not prepared for the crowd. Took way to long to get parked, shuttled, and lift tickets. We purchased lift tickets online as the website suggested and then stood in a line by last name for J-S. Our line was the longest by far and no attempt to adjust it to other lines to shorten our time. Lockers were full, and not enough seating with the lodge closed due to COVID. The few runs we got in were great. The lifts had long lines but they were moving. We had a 2 day pass but decided the second day wasnāt worth the headache since they were āsold outā for the 30th. We left our trip a day early saved a day rental and hotel and salvaged the trip enjoying the scenery on the drive out. Talked to some locals who said it was the worst they had ever seen. Maybe after COViD and NM lifts travel restrictions that undoubtedly pushed skiers to resorts in other states it would be better.

Outstanding snow, more powder than I have seen in years. We stayed at Pagosa Springs Hotel, best way in the world to relax after a good ski day. Pagosa Ski Rental near Hotel was terrific; I left my skis at the ski area afternoon of our last day. They worked it out to have skis returned to them the next day since I was traveling and could not return to ski area to retrieve them. Many thanks to Matt (owner?).

Lots of lifts and trails. Really enjoyed the slopes. We will definitely ski Wolf Creek again. The staff was very nice.

I've been skiing here my entire life. It's a great mountain for families, not too crowded, and the staff are excellent.

My husband and I have skied all over--the Northeast, the Alps, etc. But this place has them all beat. Wolf Creek Ski Area is in the middle of nowhere, and that's why it's awesome. It's not expensive (especially compared to other Colorado resorts), and is amazingly not crowded. It also gets a TON of snow; even on a "bad" day, the conditions are amazing. And when it's snowed recently? Whoa. You won't be disappointed. You're not confined to the trails, and all of the trails seem to run true to difficulty--a green is a green, a blue is a blue, etc. The only downside--which isn't really even a downside--is that you have to stay elsewhere, either in Pagosa Springs or South Fork. But that's the beauty of it--there is no resort at Wolf Creek Ski Area, which keeps costs down. It's true, wonderful skiing for those who really enjoy the slopes.

The powder in this place is amazing. We felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. No waiting for the lifts. Fresh snow. Cheap food. Wish we lived closer, we would be in this mountain every weekend for the winter. "Best snow in Colorado".

My husband and I are cautious intermediate skiers, and Wolf Creek Ski Resort has a great variety of runs for all types of skiers! Beautiful skiing and scenery!

Our local resort is not a destination ski mountain. No condos or hotels at the base. But it is the highest ski mountain I Colorado and on average gets the most snow. Terrain for all levels and the best burgers around. We love it.

If you appreciate a small, local and snowy resort without much celebrity hype, this is YOUR ski resort. Enjoy good skiing and good food š„

Fantastic ski area.
I've been to many...this ranks in my top 3 in the West, top 5 if we include New England.
DEEP snow, WELL groomed, NOT crowded even on a Sunday. And for the price? A gem.
This quickly became a top 3 in the West, for me. It is old/old fashioned, but that really doesn't matter. The skiing matters. A+

This was our first time skiing at Wolf Creek. We got 34 in of snow the first day! The skiing was awesome but the lines were terrible! Lines for lift tickets, gear rental, and horrible lines for the lifts. The staff was amazing and helpful even though they were swamped! It was a holiday week (New Years). Despite the lines, we would still come back!

Just got back from our new favorite ski resort. The snow was incredible. I only saw one snow machine which tells you they get plenty of snow. The lift lines were fast. The trails were awesome. The staff were so nice. It was also great to store your ski equipment at their place rather than hauling them everyday.
Big thumbs up š

Known for the amount of snow, slopes were pretty awesome considering it hadn't snowed in a week. No complaints about the lifts, the slopes, or the experience... except for the rude gentleman who was helping us get our boots/skis rented and fitted. We were there second week of January, after the Christmas/Holiday rush... and maybe he was tired of the crowd. He was rude, and made derogatory smart comments to me and my son. Not a ski pro, but not a first time skier either. His smart remarks were unnecessary.

There is something for everyone unless you want to tube. Bummer for me but I enjoyed the festive air. Kids ages 8-22 with us. Multiple lifts and runs for all levels of skiers. Classes for the young one was well worth it. Food for sale or bring your own picnic. Gear store could outfit you completely if you forgot anything. Check their calendar. They run specials frequently. We were on the mountain three days. It snowed over 36 inches during that time.

Wolf Creek is a great place for families to ski. It is small enough and never too busy so it is easy to keep track of everyone. Our 7 yr old grandson went to ski school for 1/2 day to brush up on his technique and then was ready to hit the slopes with the adults. The 4 year old, went with his parents all day, as there is no ski school for his age (the only drawback we could find)
Meeting back at the bottom for lunch and hot chocolate breaks make for a fun day for all.

Took the grandkids here. They had a blast. Very family friendly. lots of runs to meet everyones individual challenge. Lifts fast and safe. Needed the assistance of the ski patrol for an injury they were right there and helped resolve the issue, getting the injured party back down the slopes. Staff for the most part was friendly, helpful and outgoing. Only downside was in the equipment rentals but when you have several busloads of school kids show up it gets kind of hectic even though they separated the kids from everyone else wanting to rent. I think some of the rental staff was kind of frazzled by the experience.
Slopes were great although a friend from the area said they have stopped grooming as many runs as they used too and are allowing them to grow up with vegetation, but plenty of snow so we were happy.

The staff was so friendly and helpful for my 3 grandsons who had never been on a slope. The greens were like Eastern U.S. blues.
Loved it...perfect weather and enough snow to enjoy...not icy slick.

We only had one day at Wolf Creek but enjoyed it. I would rate my family as either beginners or skiers/boarders with minimal experience. We took a private lesson which was quite helpful. We would go back to Wolf Creek!

Wolf Creek is probably the best ski resort in Colorado. Here are a few reasons. Cheap lift tickets, Most average snow, Fast lift lines, variety of trails and levels. There are 2 places to eat, the main lodge at the base and then Raven's Nest at the top of Raven chair. Mountain is a great size. With the newer chair lift from the backside it makes the mountain even more accessible. Lift prices are less than 1/2 the price of the resorts along the 70 corridor. Food at the main lodge is well priced and GOOD. Green chili stew is soo delicious.

We loved our time at Wolf Creek Ski Area. We had an amazing instructor, Jim Banks, who helped our entire family learn to ski. We really enjoyed the slopes, and the kids also enjoyed ski school. Overall, itās a very laid back and fun area to enjoy the winter outdoor sports, and we will return!

Five of us skied Wolf Creek for 3 days last weekend and had the most fantastic experience. The staff at the mountain was very helpful and friendly. The conditions were excellent and the weather was amazing. This is the most affordable ski area in Colorado.

Wolf Creek is about 5 miles east of downtown Pagosa. During winter CDOT keep the roads (Hwy 160) in excellent condition. A lot of the "up north" ski areas think they are the best, by my money is on Wolf creek. Not everyone knows about it's location. It has one of the deepest snow in the state during the season. Also not as crowded as the up north ski areas, but has same or better envirenment.

1st time skiing these slopes. We went on a perfect day. Over a foot of fresh powder during our day there. For the locals I'm sure it is awesome and easy, but as a visitor it was difficult to figure out, unless you carry the map with you. A lot of lift options. We skied the entire day and did not know we missed an entire portion. Best place to go to avoid crowds. Reasonable and affordable prices. Many options for food and even able to bring your own lunch.

This is a great value ski mountain. Tons of snow!! I do recommend renting your skis on the mountain. They really take care of you and let you leave the skis at night. Half the mountain has moderate green and blue runs. 2 lifts serve more advanced Black and Double diamond runs. Not as crowded on these lifts but definitely for more advanced skiers. Eating on the mountain was a surprise. The food was not overpriced. With 8 skiers, the lift tickets, skis rentals and food really helped in the pocketbook. 2 kids took lessons and the instructor was not the friendliest.

We took our family to ski at Wolf Creek over the Thanksgiving holiday and we loved it!
I took a group ski lesson with Brian Hay and I donāt think I could have gotten a better instructor! Brian was very calm, clear and patient. He was easily able to handle the various ski levels of our group of five and gave excellent instruction. I was skiing down the green slopes by lunch! Our five year old did a full day at their Wolf Pup school and had a blast. After just one day of lessons she was already getting on the lift and going down the bunny hill.
My husband and son are more advanced skiers and couldnāt get enough of all of the powder!
Everyone working on the mountain from lift operator to ski instructor was very kind and helpful. Wolf Creek Is not a āfancyā ski resort, itās a great resort for your whole family!

Love this place. Lift lines move quickly. Food isn't outrageously expensive. Good amount of tracks for the size of the place. Plenty of diversity in levels of difficulty. Employees are mostly ski bums themselves, so not always the most professional, but usually friendly nonetheless.

My family and I came here to ski. Some had a lot of experience skiing and some of us had never been skiing before. We enrolled the ski school for adults as well as the Wold Pups. The staff was incredible, very patient and very helpful. The first day we arrived I had instructors who helped carry our gear, took us to the correct spots and were just overall helpful! My younger kids were nervous and the instructors made arrangements to give them more time with the bunny slope area and helped them gain more confidence. Instructors Paul and Julie were especially wonderful! It was a terrific experience and we would love to come back.

Great powder, long runs, small lines, beautiful views, great ski instructors and a real deal for lift tickets!!!

This is where we spend every thanksgiving and I have so many memories. The best part is that it is REAL snow. I will always choose wolf creek over other resorts. It is family friendly and you never feel like it is annoyingly overpacked.

This was our first time to Wolf Creek Ski resort. Our group was family with college age kids. We stayed in Pagosa Springs and rented our skis in town.
The drive from Pagosa is easy and fairly quick, 30 minutes or less. Wolf Creek had several options from beginner to expert. No lift lines and so many runs to choose from you never got bored. I really enjoyed the natural runs that made you feel like you were skiing through the forest!!
Highly recommend this ski resort!!

Great snow every day! So much snow the pass was closed for a day or two. But the skiing was incredible. Our oldest daughter took snow board lessons and she's not a novice anymore. We could not have asked for a better trip. See ya next year same time same place.

Beautiful area, friendly staff and fablous winter sports adventures. The restarurant is cafeteria-style, with a full salad bar and several homemade soups & chils. We love eathing there!

As a Denverite, Iām used to the ski areas off of I-70. Wolf Creek? Waaaaayyyyy better. The snow is awesome, the prices are affordable, the runs are fun, and I wasnāt falling over people who donāt belong on blues and blacks but think they can do it. Itās a smaller area, but totally worth the drive

Our whole family goes here for spring break every year. My 3 and 4 year old loved it last year and my husband has been coming here since he was little. I'm not into skiing, so I wish the lodge was nicer and more comfortable. I prefer to hang out and read, while they ski and the lodge is just not really conducive for anything other than coming into eat. The lift ticket prices are super reasonable and the wolf pups school is great! My boys absolutely love coming here.

We skied here right before Thanksgiving so there wasn't a ton of snow (12 inch base) and not all the runs or lifts were open, but it was perfect for us since the whole family is beginners. The lift tickets are affordable ($48 during the early season when we were there), lessons were cheap ($75 for full day beginner lesson that includes lift ticket and only $90 for Wolf pups 4-8 which includes four hours of lessons plus an hour lunch which they provide) and the rentals are cheap ($17 I believe). The place was not crowded and there were plenty of green runs to keep us occupied. They do have some more aggressive runs, but they were not yet open when we were there. We will be back.

We LOVED everything about this place. It was our first time at Wolf Creek and after skiing 3 days, eating at the Prospector Grill each time and taking a 2-hr. ski lesson, we have absolutely no complaints! Everyone who works there understands customer service and goes out of their way to be helpful and to ensure you have a great experience.
There are 8 ski lifts taking you to a variety of trails to fit your level of ability. The view from every trail is breathtaking.
Shout out to Kathy for being such a patient, kind and fun instructor!
We'll be back!

Not only is Wolf Creek beautiful and accommodates skiers and snowboarders of varying abilities, they also have an excellent staff. The instructors were personable and professional. (Hats off to anyone with the patience to teach snowboarding to my rambunctious six and eight year old grandsons!) And, I must give an A+ to the first aid crew. My adult daughter re-injured a torn tricep and staff members were prompt and attentive. (I almost hate to leave a glowing review as the slopes may be more crowded upon our return...)

Wolf Creek is a great little ski area near Pagosa Springs. There was lots of terrain to explore and great snow. No crowds the week of Christmas!!! Grilled burgers were outstanding. Friendly staff. Only downsides - it's a little far from lodging and vertical isn't that great. Minor for my family. I would like to go back again!

What can I say about this resort? The nearest hotel is in Pagosa Springs, 35 miles away, but since Red McCombs made a deal with the federal government, that may change soon. It is a wonderful place for the family to enjoy an outing skiing or snowboarding.

My family and I enjoyed skiing and snowboarding at wolf creek. We rented equipment from Summit the day before to avoid waiting in line.

My 20 yr old Daughter and I took lessons from Kelly. She was so patient with us since we had never skied before. We had a blast on our 2 hr private lesson! Lots of snow the night before and today when we went. So amazingly beautiful! We met up with the rest of our group after lessons and skied together on the green runs. Wonderful day!

I love skiing at Wolf Creek. Great skiing, helpful staff, decent food at the lodge & good seating outdoors.

A fun change from the souless Disney world experience of Vail Resorts, like Beaver Creek. Wolf Creek was cheap, friendly and totally time warped. Loved it.

This low-key resort is staffed by friendly, helpful people who help to make it a great experience for the entire family.

My husband and I spent a week here during spring break. My 4 year old son became an avid (for a 4yr old) skier with the help of the wonderful Wolf Pup ski instructors. Everyone had a blast and we will definitely be back!

Iāve been skiing for over 20 years but this is my first trip to Wolf Creek. We arrived after 15 inches of fresh powder had fallen. Three epic days of skiing followed. Wold Creek staff was fantastic. Everyone from ticket window personnel, Rob in ski rental to lift operators. Everyone spoke to you. Yes sir and no sir was the standard of the day. Runs were great. WC has fun ski races on the weekend!!! Had a blast skiing the modified giant slalom course. Wolf Creek is the best.

Took the family and had a great time. Lots of different levels of slopes for the beginner up. Have a nice eating area with plenty of options. They allow you to bring in your own food if you desire. Get there early to get your lift tickets and equipment. Lines can be long if you don't. Depending on the day, over our stay lifts ranged from being very busy to no traffic at all. Plenty of slope space once you get off the lifts. Everyone was very nice even in the chaotic area when getting equipment. Dress for the cold, but be ready to shed clothing. Lockers can be rented to put your stuff.

Skied two days during a recent storm. It was total white out in deep power conditions. They definitely get the most snow in CO. The drive in the pass is very scary too.

We did not actually go to the lodge or ski area, but we did drive the highway through the pass and to the summit! What a great view and drive! The driver must pay attention to the road, but that route into Pagosa Springs was the best choice for us.

Our family had a great time! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and seemed to genuinely love their jobs. I was really impressed with the Wolf Riders program for kids. My son loved it! My ski school teacher, Jill, was awesome! We can't wait to go back next year!

Great resort. Wonderful ski school workers for the little ones. Very attentive, felt my kids were in good hands. Great skiing from beginners up to experts. Avoid spring break if you can. Crazy busy during that week.

Great place to learn to ski or snowboard if it's your first time. The staff and instructors were friendly and patient.

Took the family of 4 for a 1/2 day of skiing on a Monday in late March. Conditions were decent considering it was spring skiing and slopes were wide open - it was like having our own mountain! We heart Wolf Creek!

This was my first time at this ski resort and I absolutely loved it. The wait time for the ski lifts was under 5 mins. and we spent most of our time skiing instead of waiting in line.

Our family absolutely loves this mountain! Best snow in Colorado, great prices, and the friendliest staff! I especially wanted to acknowledge Marty with the Hot Shots kids ski school, he was great! My daughter said he was so fun and encouraging! I also really liked that he spent time with me after to let me know how sheād progressed, what they worked on, and runs she had skied. You can tell heās great with kids! She had a wonderful experience and I was so impressed with how much she had learned! I have to say every single employee we encountered from the ski rental to the ski school to the chair lifts to Prospectors Grill was super friendly! The skiing was amazing and we canāt wait to return next year!! Thank you Wolf Creek for such an awesome time!

Wolf Creek is the best place to snowboard in Colorado! The lift lines are non-existent and the staff is super friendly. The snow is the most in Colorado as they claim. We were there for 3 consecutive days, and it snowed all 3 days. I know that it was at the end of a dry time for the mountain, but the 6 inch fresh coating of snow made it that much better! The restaurants on the mountain don't gauge you for the cost, and is fair. The crowds are non existent, the traffic is non existent, I will definitely be back!

We did not go to the ski lodge, but just took the drive. Absolutely beautiful. Easy driving, and numerous turn offs for pictures. Fall foliage has started, and snow up on the Pass, but roads were cleared. Definitely take this drive.

If you are tired of the crowded, touristy, over-priced resorts, Wolf creek is the place to go. I spent 2 days here last week and loved it. It was during the week which helped limit the crowd but the staff was friendly, the lift ticket price was reasonable, and the snow was excellent, especially considering the lack of snow this year.
On of the things I liked best were the lifts at the top. I have been to numerous resorts where the lift basically dumps you at the top and you better get out of the way, but the lifts at Wolf creek are set up to allow you to stand up and get moving without any worries.
The trails were varied and seemed well maintained, and the food at the lodge was decent, and I recommend the cake for dessert.

First day was great. Except some ski rental personnel were making fun of tourists. Next day skiing was the most crowded I have ever seen Wolf Creek. One parking lot attendant was stressed out and was short with my teenage son (new driver) when he was parking the car.
Snow was great.

Great affordable sking (if there is such a thing)
Service is great, all staff is friendly.
Lift operators friendly and helpful.

Parking was controlled and clean. The ticket office moved people along smoothly. The snow was good, the lifts are mostly deluxe and very nice, and parking was guided and clean. The snow was very good and trails were maintained and plowed. Overall, the skiing was wonderful!

We have been 4 times now (two two-day trips in a month this year) and love it. The food is all made fresh and delicious, the people are great (employees and skiers), the lifts are great and feel safe, the ski school is great, the amount of snow (even in a drought) is great, storing your equipment on the mountain is great, price is great....
Can't say enough good things about it!
Be prepared for a lot of steep hills at the bottom of the slopes...so bring snow shoes (vs ski boots) to walk in as much as possible, especially little ones going to ski school. It is also a smaller mountain, so don't expect things you would have at a large resort, but do expect some better things. We went the last Friday and Sat of spring break and while Friday was busy...it was surprisingly slow on Sat. Perfect.

Of course the first time we go it's unseasonably dry. Not much snow, runs are pretty short but pretty good for relatively new skiers. I'm 41 and ski mostly blues and wide open blacks.

I love Wolf Creek. It's about 30 minutes east of Pagosa Springs, but it is worth the drive. I have been there twice and the snow is great, the lift lines are short, and the price of lunch is reasonable. Go if you can. I definitely will go again.

(2018)- This was our second trip to Wolf Creek.
Drive up to Wolf Creek: There is no lodging at the ski area, we stayed in Pagosa and the drive is real quick. Along the way is a great place to take your kids sledding. You simply pull off to side of road and get out and have fun.
The Ski Area: Wolf Creek is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Huge parking lot with shuttle bus service if you end up having to park way down the road. They have two food shelters that serve cafeteria style. Food was good and not unreasonable. There is one shed for rentals and one ski shop. And thatās it. There is no accommodations for non skiers and no accommodations for kids under 4.
Weird Quirks: Kids must wear a helmet but they do not rent helmets for kids so you will need to buy one in their ski shop one rent one at a ski shop in Pagosa Springs.
Lift Tickets: The lift tickets are super cheap compared to other resorts. You can get a beginner lift ticket for $25.
Ski school: My 5 year old son enrolled in the Wolf Pup ski school. He did a half day lesson (1pm to 3pm) and was taken up on the beginner lift by the end of the day. The instructors were fantastic, super patient and very helpful. He felt so comfortable that we skipped ski school on the second day and headed straight for the mountain. The lesson was well worth it, several instructors assist the beginners so your child gets a lot of one on one attention. You must be 5 to do the full day ski school. 4 year olds can do half day only and under 4 will have to enroll in private lessons if they want to ski.
Cons: my only complaint about Wolf Creek is that they do not have a place for non-skiers to relax and wait for their family members to finish skiing. I wish there was a cabin or shed or structure with comfortable seating (like sofas), fireplaces, and a play area for little kids. It would sure help us mommas who donāt ski or who have to hang back with little ones.
All in all, we love this place and highly recommend it to young families.
(2023)- This was our 5th trip up here. We now have three kids who ski. Nothing has changed. Same great snow, great wolf pup program, food is good. Still no place for non-skiers to really hang out. We enjoy the simplicity of the ski area.

Wolf Creek is still one of the best ski resorts around!! Family owned, great prices, friendly staff and lots of great skiing. They also do so much for the local community that we will continue to support them without hesitation.

The best snow in Colorado. For years we hit the NM ski areas to slide on ice. The man made snow that changed skiing conditions by the hour. Crusty to soft to frozen ice.
Wolf Creek is not in the best location in terms of lodging but well worth the 30 minute drive from South Fork. Powder packed powder is the norm. Parking is easy and they provide constant shuttle service if you have to park on the. lower lots. Restaurant foods are not fancy but average for ski areas. We took our own sandwiches and thermos of hot chocolate. Du to coif you must eat outside. Understanding this is not the norm. Plenty of lifts to spread out the crowds. Plenty of wide trails for each level of ski styles. I have only on negative comment. The price of the lift tickets are too high for the efforts it takes to get to wolf creek. We tend to go the Breckinridge area and get the multi-resort pass that are right next to your lodging and restaurants.

We typically ski at Wolf Creek because we know we can count on there being snow and most of the lifts open. The last trip we took in December 2018 was incredible. The snow was insane. Most other places around also received good snow this season. Other years our friends go to other locations and say they had very little snow.
Staff is friendly.
You can bring a cooler up to the lodge and leave it on a picnic table. We make sandwiches for the day, bring water, beer etc. The lift tickets are considerably lower than other mountains too.
Tips: Rent your skis and gear in town. The line for rental on the mountain is nuts.
Bring a cooler and leave it on a table.
Never had an issue with phone service. We have verizon. Others who have AT & T or Tmobile say they don't have service.
Arrive early so you can get a good spot. If you arrive after 9am you will be far away and have to use the shuttle.

This is one of the best locations for family fun and skiing. Lift tickets are reasonable, lift lines are not bad, nicely groomed hills, and food at the lodge is great!

Beautiful area tons of things to do for the kids!! Great staff very friendly & eager to help with anything!!

Great place to ski if you're a beginner or professional. Wolf Creek really gets the snow they're known for. The cafeterias are also pretty impressive with good hearty food at reasonable prices.

Wolf Creek ski area is for everyone of all skills. Itās usually sunny and warm and it boasts an average snowfall of 450 inches of natural snow annually. This year, it received over 500 inches of grand powder. The areasā groomed slopes are so much fun to cruise. Some expert runs have moguls on the side of the slopes with a center on groomed areas. Excellent way to learn how to ski moguls. There are really nice ski bowls areas for the top experts to enjoy. The quaint lodge serves up a delicious lunch that is affordable. They have great green chili!!
If you love to ski and your budget isnāt that affordable to get in lots of days of skiing, Wolf Creek is definitely the place to be.

this has a nice back side black diamond sky spot and easy to get to from texas . good for young family that is new to skiing .

Ive been skiing Wolf Creek since early 70's. Went today with 3 grandkids. Two took ski lessons, beginner, 9 -12. 13 students, 1 instructor..very little actual ski-time for them Lots of waiting around... They took Wolf Pups last year..much better!
Lodge was unreal...packed with people, 1 hour wait in food line, no tables available inside. I will never go back during the holidays. Way too many tickets sold, facilities completely overwhelmed. Not a pleasant experience at all. Had hoped to show the kids a great time...sadly disappointed. The lessons were really a let down.

1st time snowboarding for me. The layout is basic and easy accesses. Staff was always ready to assist and answer any questions.

We stayed in Pagosa Springs, CO- 20 min. drive. However you MUST have 4 wheel drive, snow tires, or chains.Or Wilderness Adventures has a shuttle. South Fork is on the other side which is closer, but not much to do. Rent Skis at Wolf Creek. Lessons are only a few dollars more than all day lift ticket. Just check the lifts that you can access before you sign up for any refresher lesson. Not groomed and no night skiing which would be nice. The lift tickets are reasonably priced and you can bring your own lunch and eat in the "lunch room"

We took our teen boys to ski at Wolf Creek and they loved it 2 snowboard and 1 skied.
Slopes were great staff in every area friendly , very efficient on moving things along. I would suggest that u get there early say by 7:30 the lines can get long to purchase lift tickets. To be able to keep ur rented equipment u must do so for 4 days even if u only go 3 itās worth it so u have them take them with u. The food they have is great made fresh and homemade . Our boys came in from the slopes around 11:00 for lunch before crowd smart move. Great time for all loved it.

I guess if youāre ski trips are usually to Steamboat, Crested Butte or Copper... thereās a good chance youāll be disappointed with a smaller mountain. Wolf Creek was greatly overcrowded for spring break. The place cannot handle the number of people there during our visit. We couldnāt move in the base areas. The rental building was like a sardine can. You canāt buy lift tickets or rent skis for the next day til after 3pm. That creates 1 hour lines. The base area set-up will tire you out walking up & down elevations. Yeah... Wolf Creek is cheaper... but you get what you pay for.

Been sking here for 5-6 years always had good time good snow, new years was great snow snow snow , spring sking can be hit or miss but if you happen to get lucky and get a dump of snow and your not there at spring break you cant beat it but if you go during spring break sure you have crowds duh spring break I dont care what resort you go to during spring break is always a little extra bit of a pain .Yes the place neeeds updating but updates will just drive up ticket prices If you want Park City or Heavenly this is not it but still a great place with great snow, especially off during peak periods

If you want pampering this is not the place for you. If you just want to ski this is a winner. No fancy lodges here but there are 2 places at the base for sustaining food/drinks. Slopes are not crowded and lift lines - if you see any - are quick. Biggest down side is that the runs are not well marked and you can end up where you don't want to be! But there's something for every skill set and age. I saw toddlers in ski school and there is a great Gray Wolf group.

Excellent resort! So much fun! Great transportation to ski lodge frim Wyndham Pagosa Springs Resort through Wolf Creek Tours.

They think they can handle more people than they really can. Very limited parking. Like hauling your shi# up the side of an icy highway? Or you could wait for their shuttles that might show up, eventually.
Claimed they limited capacity due to Covid. Like these lines and absolute lack of social distancing?
No worries (for them) they give no refunds. #uck this place.

Had a blast at Wolf Creek Ski. One of the best ski destination with great snow and not a lot of crowds. Loved it. It is quiet and not as crazy as some of the bigger resorts. Recommend it highly.

The runs were excellent but a bit icy since two one-half weeks since snow. All dining had to be out-of-doors with cold weather. The chance of becoming a victim or property crime in the Wolf Creek/Pagosa Springs area is 1 in 43. Based on FBI crime data, the Pagosa Springs area is not one of the safest communities in America--higher than 71% of comparable cities. We WITNESSED A potentially VIOLENT EPISODE outside our condo during our stay. It occurred in the late evening with involved young males all apparently under the age of 25.
Due to the climbing unemployment rate of the Pagosa Springs area to 7.7% and the high overall unemployment rate of Colorado, coupled with the extremely high rental rates, cost of living and housing costs in Colorado -- this may explain the high crime rate in the state.
A local explained that the state's economy is so bad that state troopers, sheriff, and police are being encouraged to write traffic tickets to offset the revenue shortfall, with out-of-state residents being possibly more vulnerable to being pulled over. I would SUGGEST that one consider AVOIDING TRAVEL to Colorado OF ANY SORT until things improve in an effort to preserve your SAFETY and WELL-BEING. There are OTHER STATES and DESTINATIONS with less problems and complications I can assure you.

My buddies have been touting this place for years, so I traveled 7 hours to experience it for myself. It lived up to the hype. Short lift lines and excellent service. The Knife Ridge is amazing, the Coyote Chutes are filled with powder stashes, and I saved the best for last...Alberta peak. I get off the Treasure lift at 2:45 and start my 20ish min trek to the peak. 10 minutes in a ski patrol passes me and, without a word, closes the gate on me, shutting down the peak. I stood there in shock as I watched the patrol ascend the peak that I was to conquer. No customer enjoys a door being shut in their face. What a disappointing end to what should have been an epic trip.

We have been coming here for over 30 years. We have brought church youth groups, family reunions and our own immediate family here year after year. The snow is reliable, the ski school one of the best and the staff friendly and professional. We also really like that the prices are more reasonable and it is not "touristy". You can pack a lunch and have a great day skiing.

Best snow in Colorado!! Lodges have great food. There are no lift lines. The ski school offers affordable and excellent lessons.

These trails are so fun! It such a good adventure! Honestly the best ski resort i have been to. Will be going back as soon as i can!

This resort has great runs for beginners and advanced skiers or snowboarders. Also has great schools for beginners! Prices were great for whole days and half days! Resort personnel and employees very helpful and friendly! Can't wait to go back!

We've been going to Wolf Creek for about 18 years and it's an excellent place for children and adults of all ages. Affordable, good food, ski rental, good slopes! Easy drive from Pagosa Springs which is an AWESOME little town with a lot to do and good restaurants!

We come to wolfcreek every time we ski...the wolf pups and hot shots ski schools are great. Value is fantastic!

Decided to get ski rentals at Wolf Creek and staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Got called for my 6 year olds boots and helped her get them on, buckled them and had her bend her knees, she said her toes still touched. Went up to the counter and told the rude gentleman that they were too small, he immediately says āno theyāre notā. I replied, āyes they are, can we please get the next size up.ā Big sigh under his breathe and we got the right size. Then I got called to get my rentals, by the time I got back to finish out my 6 year olds rentals, they handed me her skis! They were 120s! I asked, āis it possible to get shorter skis for her, these are way too long, this is only her 3rd time skiing (1st time without group lessons). He says, āno, they are fine!ā (Are you f* kidding me, Iām 5ā10ā and I have 155ās). At this point I was agitated with the immediate rudeness and said, ādude, what is your problem, why do you keep arguing with me?ā Dude says, āIām just trying to set her up for an awesome ski day.ā I said, āYou have been nothing but rude. This is her 3rd time skiing, ever, she is 4ft tall, Iād like shorter skis, like 90s please.ā He then responds, āwell Cassidy, guess your going to snail down the hills today.ā Seriously dude?! I responded to his smart a** response, ādoes it look like she needs to be racing down the hill with skis that she canāt control or turn with? Are you paying for these ski rentals, or am I?ā I wonāt even go into my two older teens and their experience with rentals as well. Boots were awful and extremely uncomfortable. At the end of the day they expected people that rented skis to know how the return procedure went, and were rude with that as well, I wonāt even go into detail, except that my 15 and 14 year old daughters were taken back by how they were treated when asking where they needed to go for returns, they just expected them to know, and were rude rude rude. Needless to say, we wonāt be renting from the actual ski resort again. Best skiing we have experienced as far as the mountain and snow since moving from Alaska. Loved the skiing itself.

My family and I skied here in February 2016. It's about a 20 minute drive from Pagosa Springs where we were staying at a family friend's house.
Pros: there are no hotels, so the crowds are limited. The ski slopes are great. There was never a line. Place is small, so it's easy to find family/friends if you get split up. Ski tickets are purchased in one place and then you rent skis close by in another place. There is a small ski shop that sells shirts, hoodies, ski helmets, and other touristy items. The runs are great and there was tons of power. There is one huge cafeteria style room with lots of food options. Beer and alcohol is served in a separate place in the room so if you just need an adult beverage, you don't have to wait in line with everyone else. The place felt very safe and I never feared that my stuff would get stolen from the table. The ski shop was very simple. One place, you walk in and fill out a form with your info and shoe size, then someone pulls boots and skis for you. There are cubbies for you to store your belongings. Off to the side there are poles you can help yourself to. There are a couple restaurants to eat at, one on the mountain just off the ski lift.
Cons: there are no hotels, so there is no "ski in/ski out" convenience. You have to stay either in Pagosa or South Fork and commute to the slopes. Sometimes parking can set you back nearly 3/4 mile from the slopes. The ski shop doesn't rent helmets, you have to bring your own or buy them from the shop next door. There is no "lodge" type fireplace room that I saw. So if there are non-skiers in your group, they are limited to the cafeteria type building or one of the smaller side restaurants that have similar seating. Nothing fancy. This is a "come to ski only" type resort that caters to no frills skiers.
It was the perfect fit for my family last year, but now that I have an infant, I might prefer having a more comfortable/luxurious lodge "lobby" to wait for my family while I take care of the baby. I didn't come across that while I was there. I

We had late season conditions. One day was spring conditions with hard icy spots giving way to soft slushy areas as the days warmed. Our second day had new snow which made the crunchy snow underneath very tolerable. Third day had sun and leftovers from the previous day. Never waited more than a minute for a lift in 3 days. No crowds. We found good lines in the trees on almost every run and rarely ever stayed on a marked run. We were able to get in excess of 20 runs and 20K of vertical every day. We blasted every run from top to bottom non-stop mostly through the tree areas. The tree areas are very clean with very little deadwood to worry about. The food at the area is also very reasonably priced.

My husband and I ski at least 6 days a year in California at large resorts. We'd never skied in Colorado but we travel to Denver every Christmas to visit family.
This year we decided to give Wolf Creek a try on December 23rd, 2018.
Since the resort opens at 9am we arrived as close to 9 as possible. At our favorite resorts in California this close to Christmas, the parking lots would probably be full and the lines to purchase tickets would be long.
Instead, we parked only a few rows away from the ticket booth! Amazing.
The signage for purchasing tickets could be improved but we followed the "crowd" of folks and quickly found the area to purchase tickets. Very friendly people working the ticket sales booth. Fairly reasonable price for tickets ($72 for a day - remember, skiing is expensive!)
Put our skis on and had to ask where the lift was that we had decided to take. An instructor pointed us in the right direction and we were off!
We mostly stayed on the Treasure Lift. Beautiful scenery from the top of the lift at almost 12,000 feet. Some good "blue/intermediate" runs which were fun. I would add that the signage for trails and runs needs improvement. Some of the signs were worn badly and the arrows were either missing or had faded. The area definitely needed more snow and the hazards (bare rocks) were not marked at all. Even a few ropes with flags would be good to help direct people away from rocks.
We stopped in at the "Continental" at the top of the Treasure Lift for some hot chocolate and a cookie as it was very cold. The staff was friendly and the cookie was delish. The prices were very reasonable as well.
We also tried the Alberta Lift. We were completely lost within minutes of trying to ski down the "Serendipity" run. We weren't the only ones who were lost. We met some boarders who had no idea where the trail went and who had lost a friend they were skiing with. We never did find a single sign for Serendipity after the first sign. This is a SAFETY ISSUE. My husband and I would up at a new lift that wasn't on the map (Charity Jane) and had no idea where we were.
We hurried back to Treasure where at least we had some idea of where the runs were and how to get back to the lift. We also at one point followed a sign to a trail that took us away from Treasure and required taking the Elma Lift (again, signage pointing "TO" the other lift would have spared us this problem).
We had lunch at the base lodge (Wolf Creek Lodge) and the food was very, very good! It was also at least half the price we pay for similar meals at resorts in California.
Overall, we might try Wolf Creek again but the lack of signage is a safety issue!!

Just visited Wolf Creek last week and it was actually my first non-East Coast snowboarding experience. The first day there was a good amount of powder and the groomed trails were really nice. Didn't notice any ice and weaving through the trees was really fun. It snowed that night and coming back there was TONS of powder. I wasn't used to it so I got a bit stuck a few times, but had a great time. When I went on a Tuesday and Wednesday there were no lift lines and it was about 45 or 50 degrees. The lodge was nice too with a huge beer selection and a variety of good eats.

A group of friends and I had the pleasure of hitting Wolf Creek last Wednesday and Friday and the conditions were great. It had snowed Tuesday night so Wednesday was covered in fresh powder. The trails were nicely groomed and there were hundreds of spots where you could fish through patches of trees in barely ridden snow. Nice lodge and great espresso bar at the top of Treasure Lift.

Family-friendly skiing from beginner to expert. Beautiful snow (they get the most snow in Colorado), and lift lines are fast moving. Definitely my favorite place to ski. Staff is helpful, friendly and glad you are there. Easy in and out, and close to Pagosa Springs, a beautiful little town to enjoy.

FINALLY, Wolf Creek Pass down on into downtown Pagosa Springs - just like C. W. McCallās song. Something we always wanted to do.... check it off! Beautiful weather so beautiful views. Didnāt ski, but there is no other place on TA to post this. The ski are looked awesome and when we drove through mid December it looked like they had plenty of snow

The runs were so great. Amazing quality snow and lifts. The tree runs were so much fun even for intermediate skiers or boarders. The groomed runs were still fun if you had a to take it easy for a few runs. Alberta lift is definitely the best. So many runs to choose from. However, the staff is pretty rude. I dont think we met a single friendly employee there. They were all hateful and had a bad attitude. Also severely understaffed. They overdid the covid protocols too. You had to stay 6 feet apart in the ticket like but you could stand as close as you wanted to each other in the line outside the cafe. Typical right? Makes sense.. If you avoid the employees and just enjoy what you came to do and the scenery then you will have a great time!

Great location for families that have a wide range of skiing abilities - great slopes for beginners to advanced. Our family likes that you can ski from the top of the mountain down on any type of slope.

I know that's a big statement, but the numbers of people at Wolf Creek over Spring Break would indicate many people think so. We traveled here for our 2017 Spring Break Ski vacation and were not disappointing. We were told on Tuesday they had almost 6000 people on the mountain. This was the heaviest spring break they have ever had according to the staff I talked to. Some of the staff did seem a little short tempered, but this is understandable with the number of people, and they recovered well when it was pointed out. Even with the numbers there was plenty of space and snow for everyone. We would arrive early in the morning before the lifts started and crowds arrived. This gave us 2 or 3 runs on freshly groomed snow be to ourselves. Even when the crowds did arrive, I was still able to find locations with few people. The way the mountain is set up its difficult for new skiers to get to parts of the resort. If you can get there, the trails are great and all but vacant. The snow did get slushy late in the day and we usually left around 2:30 or 3pm.
One of the greatest things about this location is the very reasonable lift tickets compared to other locations. Rentals are reasonable as well. Being at a higher average elevation makes better snow that lasts longer than other locations. If you want good ski conditions this is a great place to look, and people who want to ski come here. If you want to be seen, or have the nice amenities you might want to look elsewhere. Wolf Creek has nice facilities, but its more for people who want to ski than people who want to hang out.

We love skiing at wolf creek. We brought our exchange student from Spain. He got lessons from bald mike. He enjoyed snowboarding. The snow was good Merry Christmas

Highlights:
This is not our first trip there. We had a great day with sun and wind. There is no need to reserve your gear ahead of time but it does speed up the process when you get there. For lift tickets we did reserve them once and just got them on the spot as well. It was faster to get them that day since lines for will call get to be long. For rental there are 2 places: one for skis and one for snowboards. Make sure you get in line for skis before 7:45 a.m. as the line can get daunting after 8. Their selection is good and you can by helmets next door to the ski rental for $60 a piece (real nice and cheaper than in the city). Covid protocols were unforced but there are plenty of dummies who do not wear masks. Go to the restrooms with your mask and goggles it is really packed ! If you get your lift tickets ahead of time do it 2 days prior as they require that purchase to be done 48 hours in advance.
Lowlights:
When it snows it is a bit miserable. Covid protocols are key; on ski lifts the personnel tried to get people to wear masks. In the restrooms, it is a mess, althoug they try: people were packed and not wearing masks.
Tips:
- Wear a double mask and your ski goggles in the restrooms .
- Ski or snowboard rental: Their prices are very competitive - we have gone to several ski resorts in the US and it is really good for peak dates.
- Helmets: During Covid they did not rent helmets, you can get them in Pagosa Springs for $8 or $10 a person, but we just bought one - we got ours for $60 on the slopes; $30 to $50 cheaper than in the ski shops in the city.
- Renting gear in Wolf Creek vs. in Pagosa Springs: Rent it on the slopes, bar none. At least they can deal with problems on the spot which happened to us one day; they switched our gear in record time. Thanks! You can reserve online and they do not charge you until you get there. Great service! however, one day we rented our gear in the city at "Pagosa Springs Ski and Snowboard Rental" and we ran into issues with boots that were too small (they had advised us to get those boots although one of the persons in our party was very uncomfortable with them). Once you get o the slopes you are stuck with what you have. It was cheaper to rent in Wolf Creek; for that one day we rented from the ski shop in the city, we lost: the price of the ski lift and equipment rental (a total of about $140!). One of our other person had a snowboard clip/binding break too on the slopes and we had to rent one board there as well; luckily we got the city ski rental shop reimburse us for the board rental, but not for the other person with the small boots.

I have not been here during the winter to go skiing, believe it or not, but it is a wonderful place to visit during the summer to see the gorgeous views of Wolf Creek and Wolf Creek Pass (and Continental Divide). This is truly nature at its best; the views are truly breath-taking. Don't miss the Rio Grande National Forest either. Pagosa Springs is a must during all Four Seasons of the year and the people are friendly.

Went with a family of beginners right after New Years. The snowfall was only at about 51" for the season and the slopes were really getting icy by our third day there. The kids did the Wolf Pup program for a full day. I recommend you get there early on your first day for their school because checking them in and getting rentals (even if you purchase online) was a bit chaotic and took awhile. I was disappointed to learn the kids weren't given much to eat for their lunch and snack, so you might want to pack one for them. However, the instructors and all the staff were very nice and helpful. The kids loved the school and had no problem with us on the second day.
Overall, the lines for the lifts weren't that long (Wed-Fri) and the ski rental process was easy as well. I'm sure we will be back!

Get to wolf creek early, the lines were very long for everything. Maybe it was a holiday weekend, but we waited an hour for gear, for food, and 30 minutes for lift tickets. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I would buy lift tickets and gear online to speed the process up.
If you are a beginner or first time skier the beginner class with lift ticket is a great buy. 4 hours of lessons, ticket for the price.
Great skiing!!
Wolf Creek gets more snow than anywhere, so that is a plus for skiing.
You can bring your own food and eat outside, but tables are a premium.
One of the best places to go for the price.

Love, love, love the lift ticket prices! Very easy to "get around" the various parts of the mountain!

This is our fourth trip to Wolf Creek and once again, it was amazing. The conditions were great, lots of snow and down right, the most bang for your buck! I'll continue to recommend this place to anyone, looking to have a great time skiing/snowboarding.

Great food for lunch after completing some snowmobiling in the morning and wants more activities to do before going down the road back to town

Was given $100 GC as gift. Tried to use a year later but card didn't work. Was told all GCs expire 12/31 of current year but get this...THERE IS NO EXPN DATE ON THE GIFT CARD. Major scam! WCSR should be ashamed.

We moved here 10 years ago for the fresh and plentiful powder at Wolf Creek. We wouldn't live anywhere else. Wolf Creek is beautiful, affordable and the owners consistently add improvements each year.

Great snow ! A small intimate ski resort. A great place to learn to ski or board. Our group of 16 enjoyed our time here and itās a shorter drive than most other resorts.

Wolf Creek offers great skiing every time. Last season, I was glad to see this place 100% open, whereas other places such as Lake Tahoe, CA and Santa Fe, NM only had a few runs open. Like anywhere else, it gets crowded around holidays and on weekends. The best time is to come during the week when school is in session. Unfortunately, you cannot stay at the resort and, depending on the weather, have to drive 30 minutes to an hour every day to get there from Pagosa Springs. The drive can be scary if the weather is bad. Some people, instead of driving themselves, prefer to pay for a shuttle service. If you decide to drive in the heavy snow, a 4x4 vehicle and snow or new all-season tires are recommended. Parking is easy and free; however, you must come very early to secure a parking space close to the entrance.

We had early snow this year on October 13. Wolf Creek got 6-7ā of snow. On Saturday, the area opened! So many people were so very excited. The temperature was in the 30ās and a great time was had by all.
Wolf Creek receives an average of 460ā of natural snow per year. Itās a great place for all levels of skiers. They has new lifts embellishing the areas terrain.
Their powder is great. It is now open for the entire area.
We love having homemade green chili stew for lunch. Their food is delicious and healthy. I love living in Pagosa Springs, CO. This is the ski town for Wolf Creek!
We vacationed here for many years before finally retiring in this great area.

While I did not ski, my son and exchange student (who was on the way to a professional ski career before a knee injury) did. We were greeted by every employee and asked frequently if they could be of service to us. The guys directing traffic were very helpful. We were told that the slopes were in great shape but the moguls were not. The lift lines were short for the most part. In the lodge there are a few free water dispense points. The menu was reasonably priced compared to the big resorts of Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, etc, and most everything appeared to be prepared fresh on site. The parking is scattered amongst a few close and a few remote lots but there seemed to be a lot of shuttle busses running at all times. I will ski next time I am here.

5 lifts and none of them ever had a line longer than 2 minutes. Tons of beginner/easy blue runs and then a backside with some serious double black runs. One of the lifts had a sign that said expert only today due to conditions and they werent kidding. Food at the top of the mountain was pretty lame but the food at the base restaurant was great. Ski rental was fast/easy/friendly. Adult lift ticket and ski/boot/pole rental was $90 a day combined. Parking lot attendants were very friendly in the morning and we went 9a-4p every day! We will come back!

Loved the Wolf. I will admit however that we hit in the 1 week it did not snow here after 15 straight days of snow. Still able to find large and small patched of powder despite it not snowing. I won't say where those patches were but I bet the locals know. Unpretentious place but also great rental equipment and probably the largest collection really really good skiers here. Come if you want radical views and interesting hikes to the snowcat. Make sure you know its running. And make sure you like skiing trees.

I have visited Wolf Creek for many years and no matter what month i was here, there was snow......sometimes to much. Not a huge modern ski resort, but everything you will need to have a good time. Good trails for all levels and the staff and employees have always been very helpful.
Good location to take lessons if you are a beginner.

Beautiful drive from Pagosa Springs to Woof Creek... breathtaking views. The resort is amazing... great parking, shuttles, shops and the runs are incredible. We will go back next year! My husband is ready to move there!!

We got powder the second day we were here and it made all the difference. With the pow pow, no lines at the lift, challenging runs, this is one of our favorite spots.

We are beginner skiers and only set aside one day of our vacation to ski. We got to the resort early so parking wasn't an issue for us. The resort was trying to keep people safe with mask wearing and distancing. The rental process wasn't bad but we got there early and were on the slope for a 9am lesson. We decided to have a private lesson as my daughter and I had never downhill skied. It was so worth the money. Ted was an excellent instructor. We had a very positive experience and can't wait to return. The scenery was beautiful.

Our three days of skiing Wolf Creek over Christmas week, as a family, was one of our best times ever. Much of it was thanks to Wolf Creek -- big expansive (but not $) mountain (we didn't even hit all of it in three days & we're advanced skiers, having lived in CO for 15 years, once upon our youth (20s & 30s), breathtaking scenery, friendly staff (and got a no-hassle-at-all refund on one of our kid's unused rental set for last day), reasonably priced food (if limited v options, but better than, say, Okemo in VT), and, best of all, uncrowded, well-groomed, snowy slopes (we couldn't believe how great the conditions were for Dec), sun, more sun, temps in 40s, and no wind. Just so perfect. THANK YOU, W C!! š½ā·ļøāļø PS Gift shop items were pricey (which means less free advertising carried out & worn around...)

We had an absolute great and fantastic. experience at Wolf-creek ski resort
The staff was all great from the ski lift operators to the restaurant cashiers but thereās always that one person that kind of ruins it
We were so pleased with every aspect of our visit.
I did lose or misplace my ski helmet and the following day I came in and asked where I could find it
There were a couple of places I checked
but they told me at Prospector that something like a ski helmet would be in the ski rental shop lost and found
I walked in and immediately just asked the first person that I saw
He was an older gentleman
And after asking him about the lost and found he yelled at me and said he couldnāt hear me and to speak up
I spoke up and he said lady just go to the end of the counter and pointed. He said I donāt deal with that I just do the photography counter.
I began to ask one more time to get clarification on which counter he was referring to because he pointed at the end of his counter but he had already made it clear that his was photography and I could clearly see that there were two more counters and he didnāt mean to be pointing at his
When I started engage with him one more time to ask which of the 2 lines because they were both long and wanted to be in the right one
He yelled at me that he couldnāt help me.
I would have understood if there was a line of people waiting for his abrupt, rude and rushing behavior to just go and figure it out for myself but just some customer service or even just a bit of graciousness and hospitality
Other than that experience with him everything was wonderful and weāll return but that one person sure make you feel awful. :(

Kid-focussed, family road trip to see if driving from Austin was worth it. While the snow was limited, the mountain wasn't in bad shape. We were blown away at the low cost of kid-focussed ski school options. While they dont really start until kids are 4-5 yo, the value for 2-5 hours of schooling was well below what you'd find at other spots. The mountain seemed to be much more targeted at black and out of bounds skiing. Many of the blues and greens seemed to be cat walks and traverses, some quite narrow. So from that perspective, it seems 50% black, 30% blue, 20% green. Take that for what it's worth based on your level.
Overall, good trip, great kid friendly options, and the lift tickets were very reasonably priced. Only thing missing was a tubing hill nearby.

2 day day adventure in the snow at Wolf Creek Ski Area. Descent snow during Christmas week. Though more snow fell after we left, as we were told.
Great trails and lifts. Areas marked well for beginners to expert. Lots of restaurants to chose from when you get hungry. Also some really nice areas to sit and have a beverage.
Prices of lift tickets and ski/board rental were average.
Ample parking with drop off only areas as well. Staff helped move traffic along nicely.
Enjoyed the first trip to wolf Creek Ski Area.

This is our 2nd year to visit Wolf Creek. Fantastic place to ski and visit. A lot more snow this year than last year. The mountain is a gorgeous view.

A group of nine of us stayed in South Fork and drove up to ski for two days. No lines and reasonable lift ticket prices! Perfect family resort. Only thing that was not the best was no inside places to eat lunch. You can order but have to eat at picnic tables and there werenāt many of them and they werenāt covered. ( this was all due to Covid )
Snow was amazing!! Kids had lessons with Kathy and they learned quick and were on blues by the afternoon!

Wolf Creek is touted to receive the most snow fall in Colorado. In our six trips to Wolf Creek for winter skiing, we've never encountered closed lifts due to lack of snow or any other reason. Each of our six trips have been during busy season (just before Christmas through New Years) and though there are a lot of patrons, waiting for lifts is reasonable (10 minutes or less) and the busiest runs (greens) are still easily skiied and not ridiculously busy. Though Wolf Creek isn't a ski in/ski out destination, with a quick comparison of lift ticket prices, it's one of the more affordable daily costs in all of Colorado. We've stayed in Pagosa Springs a few times, Southfork a couple of times, and most recently in Del Norte. Pagosa is the largest of the towns with the most 'to do', restaurants, entertainment options, etc. But, I've loved Southfork and Del Norte as well, and find that I tend to do more "resting" when not on the mountain when I stay in those towns. My only suggestion for Wolf Creek skiers/boarders is that you'll save yourself considerable time if you pack your own lunch/snacks/drinks and bring those to the mountain on your ski day. Food is decently priced at Wolf Creek and the quality is pretty good, but service tends to be quite slow and for a family - you might wait in line and wait for food to be prepped for more than an hour (not including time to actually eat). If you want to maximize your time on the slopes, bringing food is a great way to do that.

High level management and owners treat low level staff like dirt! Not a day goes by that they don't scream at or insult their staff. There is no recycling and they output extreme amounts of waste. On top of it all, I got severe athlete's foot after renting ski boots in their Rental Shop.

Wolf Creek is an affordable place to take the family to ski. Their instructors are patient and well trained. The mountain gets an enormous amount of snow each year. We love to pop up and ski for a few days a year. No frills, but an excellent ski spot!

Best fresh powder in Colorado in the winter and righteous hiking when the snow goes away! I only got up a few times in the winter but have summited Alberta Peak quite a few times! Heading straight up the face, taking an access fire road or the Continental Divide Trail all take you (quite quickly I may add) to some epic pano's of all around! Totally legit! Skiing or hiking I would recommend it to everyone!! Pura Vida!!!

It was our first time to ski at Wolf Creek and our experience couldnāt have been better! With three kids ages five and under we mainly lived at the magic carpet for two days straight. The first day, Rick was working at the bottom of the magic carpet we had the pleasure of getting to know him! He was great with the kids and knew them all by name. The next day he happened to be walking by and saw our family and stopped to watch the kids ā progress and cheer them on! Our second day on the mountain Scott was working the magic carpet. Where to even start with him⦠He was a hoot!! He got to know the kids, gave us all tips on how to be better, and entertained us with his dancing. At the end of the day he gave the kids Wolf Creek metals for their ski jackets. We had the best experience there and will definitely be back next year!

While I was working with my 4 year old grandson on the nova lift one of the wolf creek private ski instructors made a comment to his client that that kid was not learning to ski. Little did he know that my daughter in law was sking right next to him. Instructors should be trained to focus on the clint that is paying them and keep their thoughts and snide comments to their self.
My grandson was having the time of his life!
He was doing great for his first time learning how to control his skis and how to balance himself in this new element.
Have always loved this ski area, I am disappointed with this type of behavior from people that think they know everything and act like they are better then everyone else.

Just have to say that this place is run really well. Every employee I came into contact with was super friendly and helpful. My friend took a beginner ski lesson and loved it. They were so attentive and kind and helpful. Just can't say enough good things about the staff here. Other ski resorts should take note. Other than that, this place offers many opportunities for all ski levels. There are a few lodges to stop and have a bite to eat, and the food is delish! The lift tickets are also cheap! The only downfall is the fact that there are no close towns, so plan on driving at least 30 - 40 minutes a day to get there if you're staying in Pagosa Springs.

The best snow in Colorado most years, but you better enjoy moguls because the grooming of the trails is almost nonexistent.

Skiied half day on 2/25, Monday, and the conditions were epic. A beautiful, sunny, fairly warm day, (for February) Made lots of runs and never waited in line once. A definite improvement over the Christmas holidays or spring break. Trails were groomed perfectly.

Went during the last half of spring break Fri and Sat. Wasn't very crowded which was nice. Plenty of trails and all were well groomed in the morning, bit icey at first. Around 1030 the snow starts to melt and is better for beginners, doesn't hurt as much.

We came to this resort soon after a powder dump. Had there not been this snow storm, we would have cancelled and stayed put in the I70 valley as we had heard the season has not been kind to part of Colorado.
Anyway the resort proved to be fantastic. Lots of interesting off piste terrain, and the terrain off the knife edge ridge .... omg!!! It's cheap too at $70 a day.
We will come again, but only when there's pow!

Lift lines are short and several lifts are fast! That means MORE SKIING! Lots of great Intermediate and Beginner runs. Can't speak to the Black Diamond experience, since I avoid those runs. Snow is great! And there's lots of it!

This time we drove down it, and stopped at the scenic overlook, to see the fresh snow in the valley. This time the overlook had been closed as someone drove into the concrete barricade, damaging it quite heavily. The parking area is not plowed out, but it is possible to park in the wide turn there. So we made our way over the soft snow drifts and took these photos.

First timers to this mid-sized ski resort and very satisfied with the experience. We normally visit Red River, Taos or the Dillon area but were referred here by a friend. This is a place where you will wish to return to again and again. Great slopes and lift capacity, reasonable pricing and awesome snow! We stayed in Pagosa Springs which was loaded with amenities. Employees were exceptionally friendly. Downside was no morning half days lift tickets, and no tolerance for picnicking in the climate controlled areas. Far more positives including a mountaintop coffee shop! Thanks Wolf Creek! We will be back.

Wolf Creek Ski Area provides a purists experience. Amazing amounts of natural snow, lots of sun between snow dumps and reasonable prices. It is natural experience without all the glitz and high prices of the typical resort.

If you're a skier who values his/her day by the number of vertical feet accumulated, Wolf Creek won't excite you. But, if you value your skiing experience by skiing varied terrain with tree shots and powder, this could be one of your best skiing choices in southern Colorado. The resort sprawls across a long ridge flanking Alberta Peak, just below the eastern summit of Wolf Creek Pass. Nine lifts offer a mix of novice to expert terrain as you move from west to east along the ridge. Huge open slopes and snowfields give huge choices for skiers who love to see new terrain. At the far eastern end, a harrowing hike along a knife-edge ridge leads to a modest-sized but snow-choked bowl offering nirvana to powder hounds and mountain hikers alike. Base area facilities are modest but allow one to find a quiet nook when needed. This was our second visit. If I didn't love to visit new areas, I'd come here more often.

Small, friendly mountain. Private ski lesson with Kathy was THE best. Kathy is patient, extremely personable, and a true professional. I hadn't been on skis for many years. By the end of the lesson, I felt extremely comfortable. Wolf Creek is also user friendly and very reasonably priced.

I have been skiing Wolf Creek Ski Area since 1995. I live in Pagosa Springs and it is a short 30 minutes drive to the ski area for me so I get there a lot! I've skied at least 26 different ski areas from Big Mountain (now Whitefish Mountain Resort), in Montana, to Vail, Aspen, Telluride, Copper Mountain and a bunch of others both large and small. Wolf Creek is my hometown ski area and I love it! It has lots of skiable terrain, when weather offers it, plenty of powder, pretty good grooming (although I wish they'd groom some of their easier black slopes once in a while.) While it doesn't have huge verticals, the mountain can certainly challenge experts and yet provide plenty of skiable terrain for beginners and intermediates. The ski instructors are well versed in their expertise and easy to work with. As is normal for ski resorts, the food is good, but overpriced.
If you can avoid the week between Christmas and New Year and spring break, you'll very rarely need to stand in a lift line. Ski up and just sit down. If you avoid weekends, you just might get lonesome on the slopes for the sight of another human being.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The best places to stay are in Pagosa Springs rather than South Fork and there is a plethora of good places to eat and you can soak in the world's deepest hot springs when you're done skiing. Doesn't get much better than that!

We were here with another family with young children. We had all the kids in a 2 day ski school, best thing ever. The instructors were fantastic and worked well with the kiddos. Theyāve got plenty of lifts and great crowd control. Even tho we were there on spring break it was not very busy and the lift lines were no longer than 5-10 minutes (if that). The runs were well taken care of, even after 12ā of fresh powder overnight. Definitely one of the best kept secrets in Colorado.

Not a large mountain, but very family oriented and plenty of area for all level of weekend/seasonal skiers.
Two restaurants at the base and one at the top as well as a separate coffee bar.
Snow a little thin this year, but hat seems to be the case for most of the Rockies.

Totally blown away! Had never heard of Wolf Creek until recommended by friends. We had a group of 15 from all over N. America and everyone had a good time. From absolute beginners who took 3 days of lessons to experienced shredders who hiked to the awesomely accessible bowls, all of our expectations were exceeded. The 7" of powder on a 10' base at the end of March was a huge bonus! Oh, and the glades are incredible and plentiful. Rates are reasonable, as is the great food and drink in the chalet. Great, chill vibe - way better than more famous, corporate resorts. One note - no solid signal for phone or wifi (not a complaint, just a caution if you need to stay in contact!)

Great place to ski with so much snow! Get there early to get a good place to park. Ski the back slopes as well since they aren't as crowded as the ones closest to the main entrance!

I will have to say the the people who helped us were knowledgeable but SLOW. It was early season and we had to wait an hour for rentals

In the past 5 years we have only been able to go 3 time but every time we get the opportunity we love going to wolf creek, we never fail to find lots of snow, friendly people and amazing staff, which is a point I would like to remark, Mr. Scott helped every single person who used the lift, gave them amazing tips and went so far as to lending his gloves to one of the people who where beginning.
Mr. Scott if you ever read this I hope your wife is better, I wish nothing but good wishes upon you and your loved oneās

I had heard about wolf Creek and have always wanted to ski it. We were passing through and decided to spend a day skiing. This resort has terrain for everyone. A great place for kids and some unbelievable hiking terrain for runs. I would highly recommend and will be back.

The staff was friendly, the conditions fantastic and the lodge cozy.
What really made me rate this a five is because we had rented skis from another source that did not fit correctly. We found this out while in line. Wolf creeks ski rental fixed the problem within a couple of minutes free of charge.
Plus the lounge offered curly fries, which are my absolute favorite!

Wolf Creek consistently gets more snow than most other areas in southern Colorado and has some of the best powder in the area when there's snow (which there has not been much of in 2017). It's at the top of the pass, which closes in inclement weather, so you can't always get there from both sides of the pass when the snow is at its best. There's also no lodging, and no real facilities, which makes it a great locals ski area. Big debate over whether a lodge would be pillaging the heart of the place, but I live in Durango and drive to Silverton for powder days as well as to Wolf Creek. If they expanded and had a lodge, I'd stay over, so I disagree that it would ruin the vibe to expand a little.

I canāt say enough good things about my kids private lessons. They are amazingly cheap and completely accommodating. Both my kids had a fantastic time and improved a ton. We booked mid day lessons and at that start time there were no crowds. If I had to do it again I would rent my kids skis here, no helmets though.

Lots of snow and Texans I guess cause its close to drive. Nice variety of terrain and lots of trees. Little crowded at the lifts on spring break on the easier runs but plenty of space once you get going. No Cell phone service or free Wifi...

Hand down my favorite ski area EVER! They say this is old man skiing. Well, Iāll take it. 30
Inches of fresh powder on a 70 inch best and effortless turns. Skied park city dozens of times over the years, Wolf Creek still has the best snow, in my humble opinion

This was my fourth visit to Wolf Creek. Every year, the operation seems to be growing as they add more lifts and runs. Their instructors are extremely competent and helpful, the food is awesome on the mountain (check out those Raven's nest Pizzas!), the equipment available for rentals or purchase has always been excellent, the staff is incredibly friendly and enthusiastic about their work (shout-out to Wendy the photographer), and the park is one of the best ways to experience the San Juan Mountains. I expect we will be returning again and again for years to come.

Wasn't sure if my daughter would like skiing, after doing the day ski school she was hooked! Talk about a hidden gem, excellent price and not crowded. We will be back!

An amazing place with a focus on helping people and being friendly. This is clearly a family oriented, family friendly place. Something for every level of ability. Every single interaction, was positive from lift tickets to rentals to lessons to the lift operators. Great job of asking people to keep masks on in lines without being aggressive. Clearly a family owned type of place and not a corporation run. Highly recommend and would definitely go back.

Lot of elevation changes and left to right across the mountain. Far from your typical straight down the mountain type resort. Wasn't crowded, lift tickets were reasonable. Great mountain.

We were visiting the Great Sand Dunes and noticed that we could also add a Local Appreciation Days ski day to this trip. Twins (10 yrs.) and I did enjoy the skiing, 3rd time in three years, while wife was in the lodge reading her book. We only planned on a 1/2 day, not sure if twins would enjoy or my knee would hold up. We rented everything and the whole process was seamless. It had snowed a few inches the day before and also ended up snowing a few more inches while we were skiing.

I took 2 of my grandchildren here to attend our first downhill ski school. Everyone was very helpful and our experience could not have been better. Our instructor Ted, had been skiing for over 50 years and made sure we were comfortable with the experience. I had no idea that I would be skiing down the hill before the end of the day. We were actually able to make 5 runs
The food here is also good and reasonably priced.

We loved Wolf Creek! My son, age 10, and I took beginner lessons. Paul and Cal were great! They really took the time to help my son who needed a little more one on one time. They really seemed to care about our experience.
We will definitely return.

Awesome place for skiing and boarding and just hanging out in one of the restaurants is always fun too. Professionally run and the staff are all so nice.

The drive is beautiful, the mountains still had snow in May and you again cross the Continental Divide. We have visited in winter and the skiing is awesome with major snow fall. However, we have enjoyed the area in all seasons.

Planned a ski trip with #1 son and daughter n law, G-kiddos and wifey to Pagosa Springs and Wolf Creek, 27 Dec-2 Jan. Since we were all beginners and/or skiers with limited experience we purchased the Beginner's Package for the adults and the Wolf Pup package for the G-kiddos. The Beginner's Package included two sessions, a 10-12 and a 1-3 PM session. This package gives you access to 3 additional lifts after 3 PM-the Raven, Elma and Charity lifts. The class, basically, teaches you how to glide in a wedge and come to a complete stop. Additionally, they cover the equipment and how to pivot and how to stair step up and down a slope. After practicing these skills in a semi-controlled environment, the instructor led us on multiple runs down the Nova lift to practice these newfound skill sets. My only constructive criticisms are the following: 1. I wished that the instructor had of devoted more instruction time to falling and getting back up; 2. They need to be more efficient in forming the individual groups for instructions. Too much time was wasted waiting for groups to form. The G-Kiddos returned from Wolf Pup Ski School with some basic skills to ski on their own with supervision...and they had fun. A word to the wise-if you know that you are definitely going to Wolf Creek with kids, book on-line at least 48 hours in advance. And, get to the Wolf Pup area early to get your kids registered and to avoid the chaos when the lines get long. All in all, a very good family experience.

Had an amazing two days of skiing at Wolf Creek. The conditions were fabulous, the lift lines were short, the food was tasty and reasonable and the lift tickets were affordable. Be sure to make your way to the left side of the mountain for great runs that have many opportunities to lay your own powder tracks through the well spaced treed areas.

I can't say enough good things about the folks we met today at Wolf Creek Ski Resort. We made the trek down yesterday after flying into Denver and it has been worth it. We rented skis for me, my wife and 4 children at Pagosa Ski Rentals (very reasonable and so nice) and took off to Wolf Creek. My wife was the only one of the six of us that had ever skiied so it took us a little while to adjust to even standing on the skis. Not long after we had been standing next to the beginners lift an instructor, Josh, who was there helping, even though they aren't doing lesson right now thanks to COVID-19, came to our aid. He helped get our 11 year old up on the lift and then the 8 year old down the hill the first time. Soon, his fellow instructor be Kathy came to our rescue too and helped with the kids. They were both soooo patient and graceful with the kids. Even one of the lift operators Ernesto, jumped in and helped and rode with one of the kids that was afraid to ride the lift alone. Thanks to these fine folks my children had an awesome day and walked away knowing how to ski and wanting to do it again. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and we will never forget their kindness. Definitely recommend Wolf Creek to any family looking for a place to go! It was perfect for us beginners but they had so many trails and lifts we could have done.

This was our first time snowboarding so we don't have much to compare it too, however we had a great time. All the trails are well maintained and there are a variety of levels. We did two days of the snowboard school and are leaving comfortable with blue trails. There were a lot of instructors, but all were very knowledgeable and very patient with the students. We ended up doing a private lesson on the third day and we had "Big Mike" and he was awesome. My wife and I felt very comfortable and in good hands with him. His teaching style is adaptable to different levels of learning. All in all, if your in the area definitely check this mountain out.

If you love to ski, this is the place. Nice staff and soft, soft, soft snow. We rented gear on site and they had a storage on site. Very easy

It isn't Lake Tahoe, but this hidden treasure has a lot to offer.
Will be returning as often as possible, next time with family and kids.

We just got back from Wolf Creek and I've never seen so much powder! It literally snowed 72 inches while we were there and the conditions were incredible.
I've skied all over the country and I know conditions vary but I believe this was the best snow I've ever skied on. Visibility was rough with about 10 inches falling EVERYDAY but the wind wasn't terrible.
It seemed to be a little more of a family type place, very laid back and not huge crowds.
The only thing that was a little rough, especially for a :"Low-Lander" is that from the parking lot to the first chairlift, everything is uphill. I'm not sure if/how any of this could be changed but it kind of took my breath away for a bit just trying to get going.

The deep, reliable powder, casual atmosphere, no lift lines, excellent tree skiing, and affordable price is why I always return to Wolf Creek.

The staff are mean and crabby. The facilities are absurd. The food is horrid. There's nothing to do for non-skiers. There is no real bar to speak of, just a closet that serves bottled beer.
Go for the powder and the terrain. If you're a single, advanced skier or rider who won't mind a spartan experience, then go.
I will stick with Monarch and Crested Butte.

Great snow and facilities.Following all Covid-19 rules very closely. Over 10 feet of snow this season!!

My 70 year old male friend had just walked up the hill with his mask on and took it off briefly when entering the building. Trying to catch his breath he was approached by a male employee who asked why he didnāt have his mask on. My friend told him why and the employee proceeded to ask where he was from. When my friend said he was from Texas, the employee said that explains it. My friend then said he wouldnāt stay to ski because of how rude the employee was being, the employee said good thatās one less on the ski slope. This was so unprofessional and caused Wolf Creek to lose 3 paying skiers. I hope those who have jobs this winter season will be more courteous. If it werenāt for Texans, Wolf Creek might just go out of business!

Best and deepest snow in Colorado, away from the lift lines and traffic of the resorts near the front range. Regular snow storms with great terrain and stunning scenery makes this one of the best places for skiing in Colorado. The price is right, especially for seniors and local appreciation days. There are plenty of accommodations in nearby Pagosa Springs.

I am NOT a great skier, so this is written from a blues/easy blacks point of view. We went on the 20/21st of the month. The first day was all groomed and fast. The second they got 18 inches of snow overnight and it snowed all day. It was like skiing two completely different places! The whole place seems extremely well run. Ski rental was as easy and faster than anywhere I have ever been. From the time we parked till we were on the lift was less than an hour! And that's with 2 people that had never skied before with us. The equipment was in great shape and seemed almost new. We never stood in a lift line all day. The runs are long enough to be fun but short enough you are completely worn out at the bottom. The first time skiers in are group thought the greens were easy enough for them and not overwhelming. I did not do any of the back country or bowls, but saw all the locals and expert skiers grinning from ear-to-ear all day. I will be going back!

This was our first trip to Wolf Creek and we had agreed time. We have skied at many different other resorts large and small. Wolf Creek was very nice for all different skill levels.

Weāve been coming here for a few years and honestly thereās nothing to really complain about. Itās not huge, but weāre there for two days and we donāt get board. Thereās a wide variety of greens, blues, and blacks so no one is left out. We go in the middle of February and it isnāt crowded. The workers are super friendly and thereās space to bring your sack lunch and hang out in the lodge. Road to get up there is a little dangerous, but well worth it:)

Great last minute destination for our two family party of 11. We take an annual ski trip, normally to the Breck area. As South Texas residents we are always looking for a place closer to drive . Pagosa Springs was great, accessible in a one day drive and very affordable. Felt compelled to write a review in case anyone would be discouraged to visit based off the negative Texas residents post. Despite that review, no one was rude. In fact everyone was super helpful, and in most cases started conversations with us.
Why we'll return
1. Lift tickets: Very reasonably priced, option for very beginner lift only, option for half day lift tickets. Kids 5 and under ski for 6 bucks! We aren't military, but huge military discounts as well.
* Great for those on a budget
2. Food on the mountain --affordable. Two meals for 24 vs one meal for 24 bucks at a resort.
3. Pagosa Springs: Great local town, base elevation is great for us sea level folks to adjust. We usually have a few who suffer from altitude sickness, not this year.
We rented our gear in town, staff was well informed and effecient when working with our large party. We decided to rent locally vs on the mountain, mainly due to the fact of helmet rental. Helmets are only available for purchase only at Wolf Creek.

Love wolfie. For everyone traveling here, drive slow up wolf creek pass, don't be rude to locals and learn how to ski somewhere closer to home. Contribute to our community not just yourself and your vacation. Don't take up a table in the lodge to paint your nails (true) and don't steal city market shopping carts to shove in your escalade and push your ski gear around. This is a real mountain with real hazards and real snow (powder) a basin or Breckinridge is a way better choice than here.

Affordable with some amazing runs! Some of the run signage/maps aren't very clear and we got lost on the mountain several times and ended up on runs we didn't intend on going down. For what you pay at other resorts, it's a price I'm willing to pay! The lodge is crowded and hard to navigate through tables but the food was very good for being lodge food!

This ski area is a little smaller compared to some of the other ski resorts in Colorado. However, my kids (5 & 8) aren't at the point yet where they need a giant ski resort. We typically ski Breckenridge and Keystone but we are so glad we came here. There are no lines, no crowds, food prices are half the cost of Breckenridge, parking is easy, and the staff are so friendly. We will come back here again. They only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is smaller than I had expected and if I was skiing without my kids I would have been slightly disappointed.

My ski instructor bella is such a amazing instructor and person in general the time i had with her i felt so comfortable and would love to go back!!

Iāve been skiing Wolf since the early 80s. I have seen it grow from two lifts and one building to were it is today.
Pros: 1) having to drive up from Pagosa or South fork keeps the crowds down except holidays.
2) they keep adding high speed quads so hardly any lines except holidays.
3) cheapest priced lift ticket for the amount of skiing.
4) food service good and reasonable price.
5) still gets tons of great snowfall.
Cons: donāt really have any.
So if your here for some die hard skiing at a great value itās a great area, if your here for after skiing then go to the crowded over price areas I mentioned above.

My daughter went to ski school with Mr. Earl her very first day and he was wonderful. So kind, patient and my daughter wouldnāt stop talking about the things he told her! Wolf Creek seems small, but that was perfect for us. It was much less crowded during the week than weekend, but even the weekend wasnāt bad. The staff was friendly. We canāt wait to come back!

My first time at Wolf Creek and it did not disappoint! I would highly recommend Kelli Day for a ski instructor. She was great and helped me conquer my fears! Wolf Creek was great just wished they offered free WiFi as internet connection was spotty and it was hard to
Get in contact with the rest of the ski group. Otherwise, we loved it!

My family and I were skiing at your wonderful resort January 17th -19th and I wanted to comment on a couple of staff members who turned around what could have been a bummer of a day into something special. My 5 year old grandson had an all day lesson on the the 17th. The morning was a little rough and frustrating, but through the perseverance of the camp staff he began to get confidence and was soon riding the Nova lift and skiing lack a champ. The next morning he and his dad went up to get on the Nova lift first thing and had some troubles getting on the seat (5 year old's can be tricky) which resulted in my son's ski binding being changed. They got to the top of the run only to find out that my grandson's confidence had waned and my son's ski no longer fit. Frustrations ran high! I finally got my grandson down the run and my son had walked down carrying his skis. One of your staff (we will just call her "Angel"), took notice of my son's demeanor and asked how she could help "make his day better". He explained what had happened and "Angel" promptly called an instructor over "Mr. Dana" and asked if he minded going with my grandson on a couple of runs to get his confidence back, and then went with my son to the pro shop to get his bindings readjusted (we hadn't rented the skis from Wolf Creek and wouldn't have thought to presume). She even carried his ski and stayed with him through the entire process. Her kindness turned around what began as very frustrating into a fine day of skiing! Our only regret is that we didn't caught her name to thank her properly. We found the staff at the resort, from the instructors, lift office, bar staff, to the lift operators, to be exceptional and I wanted to pass that along!

Stayed in Pagosa Springs at a timeshare, Wyndham Resort, and went skiing at wolf creek. Just about a 1 hour drive to either skiing or Durango. Lift tickets very reasonable. Check the website. Senior all day lift ticket $36.00 Equipment rental on site. Pagosa Brewery and restaurant is only one of the brewery's available.

Great place to ski for all experience. More laid back than the big resorts. I usually ski during the week so no lines at all. Weekend can get crowded but they handle it well. Lots of Snow!

Itās a must. If you like snow and meeting friendly people. The restaurants serve a variety of foods for most tastes. The staff seems to assist you anyway they can no matter your age or expertise at this sport.

Had some issues with the record keeping at the ski school. They charged my sister twice for her daughterās lesson. Multiple calls to arrange the lessons, but I donāt think they actually listened to the messages, just looked at caller ID, so there was a lot of phone tag. Once there, the lessons were fine.

I canāt say enough about Wolf Creek. The staff is amazing, it is affordable and great mixture of runs for whatever level you are. The best ski school I have ever used, friendly people and small town atmosphere.

Reasonably priced ski and snow boarding lessons, and rentals of equipment. Very nice and patient instructors. Beautiful area to ski.

My husband and I have skied here in the spring a couple of times. this year we brought my family here for Christmas. I love love LOVE the best instructor there, Kelly, who does a fantastic job regardless of your level of proficiency. I like to spend time with her refining my skills and learning new parts of the courses. She was equally great with my elderly father who hadn't skied in decades. She got him out on the slopes safely within an hour.
Overall this place rocks with the best and most snow in the state. It's not as big and busy as some other options, but the runs are great as are the amenities.
It's the best kept secret in Colorado. We will be back asap.

Such a great time skiing with the kids. Reasonably priced and lots of acreage to ski for all skill levels. For spring break skiing there was a ton of snow still on the ground.

What a great trip and excellent spring skiing! It was crowded, but we got there early and right on the lifts. Lots of variety and spectacular views!

This place has the most snow in Colorado and Is never crowded like so many other places. We went for our honeymoon and my husband only skied once so we took our time, stayed on the green runs and of course lessons 2 days in a row. What a great time.

We have been skiing Wolf Creek for some time now. We would love to see them get a gondola, however regardless, this is a great place to ski. So far this year they have 330 inches. The powder is great and the resort is really well cared for. Their photography teams are great as well as all lift staff. The instructors do a great job with old folks and children.

We've have been traveling to Wolf Creek Ski Resort from West Virginia every year since 2003 and it never disappoints! The place is awesome, as is the skiing. Every year they seem to add little things, like this year, a new lift that opens up a whole new part of the mountain to all levels of skiers!! Thank you!! Plus you cant beat the price!! Lift tickers, well within reason, and lunch is wonderful! No need to pack a lunch when they sell you the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich you ever had for $1.50!!
Now if you want a brisket platter, they have that as well!
we look forward to returning in 2021!

Loved the location and whole feel and vibe out there. They suggested we take a class but we decided to just wing it instead. We had our 7 and 9 year olds with us and they did exceptionally well. We paid around 70.00 for ski rentals for 4 people. It was reasonable and a learning experience on our end. We picked up on the skiing pretty quick without classes. Not confident enough to get on a huge slope but what I am saying is classes were not necessary in this case

As Colorado skiing goes, it is inexpensive. That is a great plus - from lift tickets to dining. It is so so crowded though. Also I feel like it is lacking some of the amenities of other resorts. Parking is insane, you cannot drop off your party up front, they do not have wagons in lots to get all your stuff up, buses are quickly crowded and hard to get into. Also there's no ski storage unless you rent skis there and that process seemed like a nightmare also. All that said, I do feel like there are a lot of relatively easy runs and we enjoyed our time skiing there.

My family and I spent the weekend at Wolf Creek Ski Area. It was a fantastic weekend! The ski area was not large, but not so small that we felt confined. There is ample terrain for skiers of every different level to be happy, and there is enough of it that we couldn't do everything we wanted in two days. The people who run the area were incredibly nice, and the prices are reasonable, especially when compared with most other ski resorts. We will be back.

First time to visit Wolf Creek in about 20 years. I thought the ski rentals were average to below average. They couldn't find a performance boot in my size even though there were hardly any skiers so I had to go with a lower quality boot. The skis were ok. They had all manually coin operated lockers and one jammed taking my 75 cents. Overall the staff was helpful and friendly but the building seemed small and I can't imagine how congested things would be during peak season.

This ski lodge was closed and the runs looked snow packed! Drove by it after going over the pass. It looked to have three ski lifts but no one there to enjoy the skiing. I would have gone if it was open in April!

My husband and I have skied since we were young but our children never have and we have all enjoyed the trip immensely. The wolf pups ski class is great for the younger ones and our 13 year old did great in the adult class. Our 15 year old learned with his friends on the slopes. Itās a great ski area for people of all abilities. Well taken care of and groomed. No fake snow.

REALLY good snow, equipment, trails, lifts, food availability, nice locals. We are intermediate skiers - so blues and greens only. But wow, so many amazing snowboarders enjoying powder and off trail boarding. We downhill and also enjoy the nordic ski area. Love the proximity to Pagosa and the roads up to the pass are well cared for by plows.

Great place for remote camping at a lake/reservoir just to the left (if you're facing the resort from the street) of this resort. drive through parking lot and down dirt road. It's a hidden spot that not many people know about!

As good as it gets for skiing. Hit the taco truck and ski Knife Ridge. Debbee and Bacon are great ski school teachers.

Early January this place has some serious powder. The slopes are well maintained and the lifts operate flawlessly. Great staff and fantastic views. Beware of the altitude. This place is an awesome spot to sift some dust.

This is the second time to visit Wolf Creek ski resort and we absolutely love it. Staff is very friendly. Resort is clean.

Colorado's best kept secret! Great snow, great staff. Lifts are fast and up-to-date. Every time I visit there is something new going on. This is the place to ski in CO.

The Massey family of five has skied Wolf Creek during spring break for four consecutive years. You can count on plenty of snow, big crowds, a big mountain with a variety of terrain for all levels. The skiing is as good as most of the more famous CO ski resorts running alongside IH70 a little further north. What set Wolf Creek apart is the value! Full day lift tickets for $67, lunch for the entire family for less than $50, ski rentals at $16 per day. The lodging in South Fork and Pegosa Springs is about half the cost of the resorts further north. My family can enjoy a great week of skiing for about half the cost. The only reason it is not five stars is because I have skied Vail which is the best, but extremely expensive.

We had an amazing time it was beautiful I do recommend training if it's your first time but I had a great time!

This was my first time skiing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I loved it. Thank you for a wonderful time!

This place is filled with truly amazing helpful people. This was my first time snowboarding and Rob and Scott made learning so much fun. They took time to teach me Scott even wasted his break to teach me which I truly appreciated overall this place is amazing and the people in it are as well!

This is the best skiing in NM and CO. always powder never been when it was alot of ice. Great ski lessons too. My wife took lessons at ski Apache and did not even compare to this. She now feels comfortable enough to go on her own.

Wolf Creek is wonderfully crazy and we absolutely love our season's passes!! They average 400+ inches of snow per year (or some stupidly high number) and the shines 357 days a year. That is a formula for great skiing and any winter sport you may wish to get involved with at this area. They've big bowls in the back area and it's marvelous. It won't disappoint anyone!

Fun local mountain town ski resort. Great place to start the season. The conditions were great for a pre-Thanksgiving š warm-up. The mountain šļø is well taken care of, and the locals were cool and nice to visitors. We will be back and add this to our annual Durango Purgatory ski ā·ļø trip.

What a breath of fresh air Wolf Creek Ski Area was! The two of us picked up 1/2 day beginner slope tickets for $28 each the first day to practice and the second day we picked up tickets for a half-day of riding the whole area for $55 each. The layout of everything was very clean and simple, the employees were super helpful and the slopes were fantastic! Check out our snowboarding video on our website to see the fun that can be had at Wolf Creek! We'd recommend anyone visiting the area in the winter to absolutely go!

We usually Ski Angel Fire, NM during MLK weekend but they had no snow so we came up to Wolf Creek. They are supposed to have the most snow in Colorado but even they were impacted this year to date. They did have snow a few days before we arrived so mountain was as good a shape as you could expect. Only downside is no lodging on the mountain otherwise all else is good. Close and free parking is helpful though. The mountain is very affordable both for lift tix and food/drinks.
My 10 and 12 year old boys did a morning 2 hour group session (Hot Shots) as a refresher course. We may have lucked out but after the first 30 minutes they ended up having an instructor to themselves. It made me glad I didnāt pay for a private lesson. The lesson started at 10 am and I dropped them off at 9:15 and was on slopes by 9:30. The cost for the lesson was approx 65 dollars per child which included their lift ticket. They boys really liked the instructor and she was very nice and encouraging when I picked them up.
Even on a holiday weekend the lift lines were short. We got plenty of runs in over the several days we were there. Wolf Creek is a solid, low key affordable place to ski.

We arrived last week after a 48" snow fall (124" base). Loved the snow, sun, the small crowds with short or no wait lift lines, reasonable priced lift tickets, rentals & food! Employees were friendly and helpful. Parking was a close walk too. Not a gigantic, luxury resort, but we loved it. (I love gigantic, luxury resorts too!)
I highly recommend Wolf Creek

New to skiing, I was hooked! I told my husband I wanted to go again. So we decided on Wolf Creek - it did not disappoint. I signed up for another lesson and had a great instructor. If you are new to skiing, I cannot stress enough how beneficial it is to take lessons, The beginner boots are soooo comfortable - which made all the difference and highly recommend.
It may have been the time of year (end of Jan.) and beginner slopes, but it wasn't to crowded. I'm thinking it was the latter.
*They have open cubbies for shoes and coin operated lockers for valuables. They also provide overnight storage for rentals. However, they do not have helmet rentals.
The drive to Wolf Creek is stunning (being from Texas it was a little nerve racking with the occasional ice patch) and will definitely be returning.

Great time skiing! Took 2 young beginners, 7 years and 11 years. Both had lessons. They LOVED it! Instructors were very good and patient. I think they are hooked for life!

We took a day to ski while in the area and were amazed at the size of this ski hill. We were also very happy about the cost of the lift pass after paying Vail prices. We skied for several hours and exhausted ourselves and decided to call it quits. I would recommend this ski hill to all skiers passing through this area.

Love this local mountain. Itās usually not crowded. Ski instructors for the school were great with our boys and they were snowboarding in no time.

this place is not that tall, and its not as big as the vail resorts but WHO CARES when you have the most snowfall in colorado and the best tree terrain anywhere. I went on a "bad" snow time and still was finding tons of powder all over the area off alberta lift. they are priced better than east coast resorts and that seals the deal for me. I would live here if i could. and i just might start working towards just that.

Love powder but hate ski areas that get tracked out in 45 minutes? WCP gets huge amounts of snow, yet due to it's lack of sustained steeps, it doesn't attract hordes of shred monsters. We just got back from 3 days of skiing endless powder, and were quite impressed with the improvements. It still has a family friendly (and run) vibe (think anti-Vail), yet offers a LOT of quality terrain, including steeps and some of the best tree skiing in North America. Somehow their forests are so well spaced that there are "private" lines for everybody. And at days end, you get to soak in mineral hot springs back in town after dinner at Kips. Life is very good.
Great Ski Experience
1) Lots of snow
2) Diverse terrain
3) Inexpensive lift tickets
4) Short or no lift lines
5) Good COVID precautions --- I saw masks on all employees, limited and spread out capacity on buses and lifts, restaurants were take out only, and the employees really harped on people with masks off or down at base
6) Great hot apres ski drinks
Negative:
1) Sometimes you have to walk uphill to get from one lift to another at the base; annoying
2) Trails could be marked a bit better, but only a minor annoyance
