Hongcun is the most representative village among the Hui-style residential villages and is known as the "village in Chinese paintings".
The Oscar-winning foreign language film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed here - Nanhu Bridge outside the village.
From the overall appearance, Hongcun is a peculiar ox-shaped ancient village. The canal, South Lake and Moon Pond are three classic landscapes in the village.
Here you can quietly sketch and paint, go into the alleys to take photos, or just sit by the South Lake and watch the weeping willows swaying in the wind, sinking into the painting.

Hongcun is full of spirituality. The streets and alleys are too winding and narrow, and the old houses inside and outside clearly reveal their dilapidated and mottled old style. The slower you walk, the more you can smell the rotten air between the wooden beams and white walls. Suddenly, I feel as if I am still in a hundred years ago.
Although I don't like and am tired of the tourists running around, especially the bustling crowds, rushing past and heading to the next attraction, and the tour guides' high-pitched and low-pitched explanations, I came to Hongcun in the off-season, so there weren't too many people. I like to shuttle between the gray and white horse-head walls, and move in the narrow alleys that can barely allow two people to pass. Occasionally, I will step on a few movable stone slabs, splashing water all over my feet. Occasionally, my feet will slip, my hands will wave, and I will stumble and stand up immediately, feeling lucky that I didn't fall. Sometimes I will walk into an old house, touch the stone slabs and wooden carvings that have been there for hundreds of years, and watch the rain hit the eaves, fall on the pillars, gather on the bluestone slabs, and go to the center in an orderly manner. Gathering water to form a pool, gathering wealth is like gathering water, and it also needs to be accumulated bit by bit. There is curling smoke from cooking fires, mountains and rivers surround the village, children are playing, women are washing clothes, old people are chatting, and farmers are chatting with each other as they go home. Everywhere is filled with the comfort of life.
It was getting dark. I could hear the sound of spatulas and children playing in the houses. I sat on the stone railing by the Moon Pond for a long time, waiting until the aunties selling trinkets had left, the uncles smoking had disappeared, the grandmas chatting by the lake had all dispersed, the peasant women washing clothes or vegetables by the lake had all gone home, and the uneven walls were dyed red by the red lanterns, and then completely hidden in the deep night.
The night was quiet and the village was quiet too.
So, stay a few more days in Hongcun, get up early in the morning, wait for the wind to blow, wait for the distant mountains to be dark green, wait for the nearby water to be misty, wait for the layers of green in the mist, wait for the gurgling water at your feet, wait for the painter who is watching the sunrise to appear in the village, wait for another sunset in Hongcun to fall on the drawing board, into your eyes, and into your heart, and remember this dreamlike village.
I have always heard of Xidi and Hongcun as two independent names. I thought Xidi was a place name and Hongcun was a village there. In fact, Xidi and Hongcun are two independent villages. As representatives of Huizhou architecture, they jointly applied for World Cultural Heritage. Because of time constraints, we only chose Hongcun. Tickets for Hongcun can be booked on Ctrip, but you need to exchange for paper tickets at the door. Your name and ID number will be on the ticket. Because Hongcun tickets are valid for three days, you need to provide tickets and ID cards when entering and leaving Hongcun.
The most perfect of all the ancient villages and towns, especially the Nanhu Lake and Yuezhao Lake are really picturesque. Tickets are bought now, 104 yuan per ticket, a little expensive. The ancient village, ancient alleys, and ancient houses are worth seeing. Generally, it takes 3-4 hours to play. It is recommended to go in around 4 pm, take a walk first, and have dinner inside, so that you can see the night view again when it gets dark.
After getting off the bus, follow the signs to the ticket office to exchange for tickets. The ticket booked online costs 94 yuan, and the ticket bought on site is 104.
I walked slowly here for two hours and felt very hungry, so I bought a glutinous rice knot in a small shop. It tasted quite good and cost 10 RMB. The feeling I got from the whole Hongcun was actually quite different from what I saw on the Internet. It is quite commercialized and a bit similar to those ancient towns. The most interesting thing is that you can follow the free tour guide and listen to her explanations, which is quite good and very entertaining.
Mountains surround the city, clear streams surround the city, white clouds and green peaks are hard to paint. Everywhere there are pavilions and terraces, and every home has lights and the sound of reading.
There is no Huizhou without dreams, and each village is a world. Speaking of ancient Huizhou dwellings, Hongcun must be one of the most representative villages.
Legend has it that in the first year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, Wang Yanji, the founder of Hongcun, suffered from a fire, so he moved his family from Qishu Village in Yi County along the river and built a house with 13 rooms in the Leigang Mountain area. This was the beginning of Hongcun.
The Wang family moved due to the fire and built a new village, and fire prevention was the top priority. With the collective wisdom of the people, a major project was created - the "ox-shaped water system". This canal is like a "cow intestine", with a total length of more than 1,200 meters, winding through the halls and houses, nourishing the entire mountain village and making it more lively.
Since it is a group of ancient dwellings, it is natural to see the Hui-style houses. Lexu Hall, Jingde Hall, Jingxiu Hall, Chengzhi Hall, Shuren Hall... These houses called "Tang" are basically worth seeing. The brick carvings on the gatehouses are very exquisite and have a profound cultural heritage. However, some of them have been converted into homestays, and some do small businesses.
Hongcun is exceptionally peaceful at night. It gradually becomes silent in the night. There are no bright lights and no noise. Hongcun on a winter night gives me a kind of tranquility that is different from that of Phoenix at night, a tranquility that you cannot bear to disturb.
Wandering in the ancient village and touring these century-old houses, the exquisite wooden carved beams, the magnificent ceilings, the delicate handicrafts, and the superb calligraphy and paintings all made me admire the ingenuity of the ancients.
Walking around the ancient village, you can see Anhui's unique Mao tofu everywhere, and everywhere is hung with the filming location of A Bite of China. They all say that their Mao tofu is the Mao tofu broadcast on A Bite of China. I don't know if it's because we are from Jiangxi, or because of our taste, but we both agree that the taste of this Mao tofu is emmmm. At least we can't accept it!
Hongcun is not too big, but not too small either. After all, it still takes a few hours to walk through it, hahahaha. Walking inside, you may end up back at the place you were originally visiting.
There are so many inns of all sizes in Hongcun, and no two are the same. Each inn has its own flavor.
The trees around the Hongcun pond were completely leafless, with only dead branches stretching wildly toward the sky. Fortunately, the tops of the indigo-colored mountains surrounded by thin clouds in the distance looked much better than the "white sky" we had experienced before. The buildings across the bridge, with their gray and white walls and red lanterns under the eaves, were reflected on the water, creating a scene resembling a Huizhou landscape painting.
Hongcun is full of cobblestone roads, so it is really inconvenient to carry a suitcase.
The first time I saw Hongcun, I was amazed!
There are not many people in each restaurant in Hongcun during the off-season
There's really nothing to see at night.
The water flows through the entire Hongcun Village. You can walk to Nanhu Lake by following the water flow, and you can find Yuezhao Lake by going against the water flow.
Following the free tour guide, we visited Nanhu Academy, Wang's Ancestral Hall, this hall, that hall.
I walked around every alley in Hongcun.
It's a very small village, you can see it in two glances~ Follow the tour guide into the academy and the ancestral hall and you can feel the ancient cultural charm~ There are not many people in winter, and many villagers should not live here. Basically, every house here is an inn or a shop, and they all have their own characteristics. There are also many literary youth hostels~ The inn provides meals, and you can also eat in restaurants inside and outside the village. These are the characteristics of Anhui cuisine. Every one is similar, and the price and taste are similar~~ If you don't live here, one day is enough. If you stay here, it's about 100-300 a night~ The ticket is 104, and it's 94 when booked online. You can enter at will with the ticket and ID card within the three-day validity period~
Hongcun is the most representative village among the Hui-style residential villages, and is known as the "village in Chinese paintings". Although it is winter, it does not affect the viewing and playing. The southern life atmosphere is very strong. There are many sketching students in every corner of the village, using paintings to show the landscape of Hongcun vividly. It is worth a visit. There is also a very representative snack Mao tofu, which has been on the tip of a tongue of China. The taste is not bad, but not everyone can accept it... Hehe
The main tourist attractions in Hongcun Town are Hongcun Scenic Area, Pingshan Scenic Area, Lucun Scenic Area, Mukeng Scenic Area, and Tachuan Scenic Area. As of the end of 2015, there were 5 A-level scenic areas in Hongcun Town, including 1 AAAAA-level scenic area and 2 AAAA-level scenic areas. It has the world's unique ancient water system - Shuizhen, Yuezhao, and Nanhu Lake, and the "Chengzhi Hall and Peide Hall" known as the folk Forbidden City. The "Sanli Hall and Lexu Hall" in the hometown of Huizhou merchants, and the well-preserved ancient academy "Nanhu Academy" and other important cultural relics. Lucun has a group of wooden carving buildings composed of relatively intact residential houses such as Zhicheng Hall, Siqi Hall, Siji Hall, Sicheng Hall, and Glass Hall. Pingshan has 7 ancestral halls such as Guangyu Hall and Chengdao Hall, and also preserves Sangu Temple, Red Temple, Changning Lake, Shu Xiuwen's former residence, Hulujing, Xiaoxiulou and other places of interest. The Hui style of architecture, spatial layout, interior decoration and environment creation of the ancient villages of Hongcun, Lucun and Pingshan have reached a very high level, representing the highest level of architecture and living environment since the Tang and Song dynasties.
I want to complain about the water in Hongcun. Although it is advertised that there is a complete water system and this kind of water plants can purify the water, the water in both Nanhu Lake and Yuezhao, especially Yuezhao, is yellow and turbid, which is really not good to take pictures. Hongcun is famous for the crew of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Li Mubai not only walked across Yuezhao, but also walked across Nanhu Lake. The ticket to Hongcun is valid within three days after purchase. You can enter and exit at will during the validity period, but you must ensure that your ID card and ticket are on you. There are staff at each entrance of the scenic area to check 24 hours a day. There are actually many small shops in Hongcun, but I was not feeling well these days and there were many check-in places during the day, so I didn't go around much at night.
It is recommended to stay in Hongcun when you go there for convenience. There are many accommodations and restaurants there. But remember to eat early at night because this place is not open until very late. You can walk around during the day. The most impressive thing is that it is really not easy to take a photo on the bridge without too many people as the background. The quality of some tourists is not high. Because the bridge is very narrow, pay attention to safety when taking pictures.
As the most famous 5A-level ancient village scenic spot in Huangshan, we are ready to "follow the crowd". However, when we came here, we couldn't help but sigh that we finally felt the holiday. Compared with the quietness of Bishan Village, it is very lively here. The entrance to the south gate of Hongcun is Nanhu Lake. Many photos showing the beautiful scenery of Hongcun were taken here. When you enter Hongcun, you can stroll in the alleys in the village. It should be very interesting to come here when there are few people. Enter Hongcun and follow the signposts to reach another water system here-Yuenzo. When I heard this name, I thought of Nanzhao in the Legend of Sword and Fairy 1, which always feels a bit of ethnic style. Compared with Nanhu Lake, Yuezo is much smaller in area, but it is precisely because it gathers the rich scenery of Huizhou courtyards and water systems in such a small area that it makes people feel more unique. There are all kinds of small shops on the shore, which are typical characteristics of scenic spots.
Hongcun was first built during the Shaoxi period of the Southern Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 800 years. The ancient village has preserved a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Its unique architectural style integrates the essence of Huizhou architecture and has extremely high historical, cultural and artistic value.
👉 If you like the healing feeling of "ancient village + landscape", Hongcun is definitely the best choice! There is no hustle and bustle of commercial streets here, only the mist on the lake in the morning and the curling smoke in the evening. A casual shot will be a highly praised blockbuster in the circle of friends📸.
Highlights
1. Yuezhao: The center of the village! A pool of clear water reflects the white walls and black tiles. It looks like a mirror on a sunny day and an ink painting on a rainy day. It is recommended to get up early and watch the sunrise. There are few people and the light and shadow are amazing! (📍Camera position: steps on the west side of the lake)
2. Nanhu Lake: In summer, the lake is covered with lotus flowers, and the painted bridge is a must-photograph! It is the place where Li Mubai walked with his horse in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". It is even more photogenic to wear Hanfu/cheongsam~
3. Go into the alley to find surprises:
The wood carvings in Chengzhi Hall are so detailed that they are frightening. The "upside-down bats" on the beams symbolize "good fortune"🦇
Every brick carving on the door of a house has a story to tell, so remember to look up!
Look for the "ox intestine" canal in the village. The sound of flowing water is super soothing, and locals still use it to wash vegetables!
Hidden Gameplay
🌿Leigang Mountain in the Back Mountain: Climb to the top in 10 minutes and overlook the "ox-shaped" layout of the entire village (the head is a mountain, the horns are trees, and the intestines are canals). At sunset, the whole village is gilded with gold!
🍵 Drink Maofeng by the lake: Choose a teahouse by the South Lake, pay 5 yuan for a cup of tea, and watch ducks swim by. This is the slow life in Huizhou~
Foodie Guide
🍲Must-try: Braised pork with bamboo shoots (oily but not greasy!), stinky mandarin fish (smells stinky but tastes delicious), pickled mustard greens pancakes (the best ones are those freshly baked at roadside stalls)
⚠️Avoid pitfalls: Mao tofu tastes like fermented bean curd, which may not be something you can get used to. It is recommended to buy a small portion to test the waters first!
Practical Tips
🎫Ticket price: 94 yuan (entry and exit within three days), half price for students
🚌Transportation: Direct bus to Huangshan North Station (1.5h), self-driving parking fee 10 yuan/day
🏡Accommodation: The B&B in the village is 200+. It is recommended to stay by the South Lake, where you can see the paintings when you open the window!
💡Tips:
Avoid holidays! Weekday mornings/rainy days are quieter
Wear comfortable shoes! The cobblestone road is uneven
Want to shoot an empty scene? Go out at 6 am and take over the whole village!
To sum up in one sentence: The beauty of Hongcun is not in checking in at the scenic spots, but when you wander around slowly, you will suddenly be filled with the atmosphere of hundreds of years of fireworks~ 🌟
When leaving a place I visited when I was young, I always hope to come back again, but how many chances are there in life?
I did sketching in Yi County in 2008. I have forgotten the names of all the ancient villages I visited, except Hongcun and Xidi, but I came back after all.
It's sunny today, but it's no longer the Hongcun with alleys full of classmates and occasional village grandmas. Street vendors at the entrance of the village have been replaced by shops in the streets and alleys. The same Huangshan delicacies have killed the small vendors who only make a few yuan. Sketching is not allowed in this place covered with paving.
How can people bear it if the scene is still like this?
The service is not full marks mainly because there are too many businesses
At seven o'clock in the morning, there were not many tourists in Hongcun. The South Lake in front of the village was quiet, like a piece of smooth silk. The gray tiles, white walls, green willows and green lotus, all the colors were just right. All of this was reflected so clearly on the lake, making it twice as beautiful. It is true that "Hongcun is picturesque".
Yuezhao is another pool of water in Hongcun. The symmetrical technique is performed again. They are similar in nature, but each has its own uniqueness. We can only be amazed once again!
As an outstanding representative of Huizhou architecture, Hongcun is known as the "village in the painting". In fact, it was originally just a small village, but because of its superior geographical location, excellent feng shui, and well-preserved ancient buildings with a long history, it is well-known and has become a business card of Anhui. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by mountains and rivers. One of the houses faces a pond. On a quiet summer day, the moon is reflected on the water, so it is called Moon Pond. In general, it is an ancient village, but it is worth your visit.
When introducing Jiangnan water villages, Hongcun is always mentioned. This world heritage site is vividly called Hongcun in the painting. It is a place for studying Jiangnan paintings. Its unique architectural layout and structure have also become one of the favorite villages for Feng Shui masters to study.
Not bad, not bad, not bad!! Although the tickets are a bit expensive, it is relatively okay. Maybe I really choose the popular ancient towns every time, so Hongcun feels okay to me.
It is quite commercialized, which I expected before coming. However, the village is still original. There is Nanhu Academy, ancestral hall and various old courtyards in the village, which you can visit. The design of Yuezhao is very interesting, with a half-moon-shaped pond. The water body of Nanhu is somewhat eutrophic. The infrastructure outside the scenic area is a bit shabby. Ticket inspection is quite strict. There is a Hualian supermarket in the west of the village. Patio, horse head wall. The four carvings of Huizhou, brick carving, wood carving and stone carving.
Hongcun was first built in the Song Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The rise and fall of Hongcun is inextricably linked to the once powerful Huizhou merchants and Huizhou culture. After returning home with wealth and elegance, the Huizhou merchants bought land and property, and used their huge wealth to carefully build their own "Peach Blossom Spring", gradually forming a Huizhou-style architectural complex dominated by residences, academies, ancestral halls, private gardens, etc. Walking into the old houses, the exquisitely carved wood, brick, stone carvings and Huizhou bonsai are scattered in every corner of the hall and courtyard. It seems unintentional, but it is actually intentional. Smelling the breath of time and looking at each product and scene, they all record a piece of history and tell a story.
The village is full of Huizhou atmosphere, with some old sites open to the public, characteristic commercial streets, and current residents. The scenery is beautiful, and there are many people sketching by the South Lake.
The place is not very big, and you can walk around the whole village in 2 hours; there are mountains (not very high) and water (only one pond), which are quite distinctive, and the photos taken are still very bright!
The rain view and night view of Hongcun are both nice. It rained a little from time to time during the two days we were here. The sky was overcast, cool and comfortable. We walked around Hongcun accompanied by the sound of rushing water, which flowed from Yuezhao to Nanhu Lake. We walked from dawn to dusk. The lanterns reflected the red light of the alley. There was no sound of machines working, only the clean conversations between people. We almost didn't feel tired even when we walked out of the village.
Because it is famous, there are a lot of tourists. From the chaotic parking lot to the Youyan Lake full of restaurants, the whole experience is not very good. In this trip to the ancient villages of Huizhou, Hongcun ranked last. Pingshan, Xidi, Xiuli, and Bishan are all better than Hongcun.
There are several things that left the deepest impression on me in Hongcun. The exquisite ancient buildings worth 70 million RMB owned by the richest man in the village allow you to closely experience the luxurious life of the rich in the past; the Anhui folk houses on postage stamps are designed based on the buildings here. The Hui-style architecture is characterized by white walls, black tiles and high and low horse-head walls with unique design; the students sketching by the South Lake in the village. As a sketching base, Hongcun attracts a large number of students to sketch and paint every day, and it is a good experience to sit down and watch them paint quietly; the photography aunties with cameras and long guns are everywhere in the village, especially by the South Lake and Yuezhao Lake in the village, where rows of tripods and SLRs are set up, which is very imposing and makes people sigh that the aunties nowadays can do anything.
The scenery of Hongcun is indeed beautiful, but given its fame, it is inevitable that the degree of surprise is not very high. With a ticket price of more than 100 yuan, the interest in appreciating the scenery will vary with the number of tourists (Hongcun has always had a large number of tourists). Compared with Xidi, Hongcun's scenic area services and cultural heritage are slightly inferior. In short, I don't think it deserves the title of the most beautiful village in China.
The evening and morning of Hongcun are the most attractive. You can truly appreciate its beauty without the noisy crowds! I personally like the mountains near the village. In the early morning, the air is moist and walking around will make you feel very comfortable. There are also wild strawberries on the mountain, which are very sweet, but you have to distinguish them carefully, not all fruits can be eaten!
Avoiding the May Day holiday, I took the weekend to visit Hongcun. When I arrived at the entrance of the village on Friday afternoon, there were still many people, including groups of tour groups. Fortunately, the scenery in the village lived up to my expectations. At around 5 or 6 o'clock, when the sun sets and the tour groups leave, there are fewer people, and with the lit red lanterns, it is another scene.
It is worthy of being the most beautiful village in China. It has Chinese characteristics. The white walls and gray tiles make people feel like they have traveled back to ancient times.
Hongcun is already very famous, it is worth a visit, and the prices there are very affordable
It's another sunny day after the rain, and it's another good day for making blockbuster movies.
Hongcun is an ancient village featuring Huizhou-style architecture, known as the "Chinese Village in Painting". Walking into Hongcun, you will find scenery everywhere and a painting at every step.
The scenery of Hongcun is still good, like an ink painting, but the ticket price is a bit expensive to be honest.
The scenery is breathtaking. When I went there, it was sunny, cloudy and rainy. The scenery was different in each weather. There are photos in my travel notes.
I really like it. I went there during the National Day holiday one year and there were far fewer people than expected.
There are too many people in Hongcun. It is recommended to stay in the village and feel the tranquility before the tour group arrives the next morning.
It's not worth the ticket price at all. There are just some similar old houses and so-called old residences. There is a lake at the entrance of the village. It takes at most 2 hours to visit. Moreover, the auntie who sells tickets to the former residence of Wang Daxie is very uncultured. When you ask her questions, she even pushes people. She is rubbish and must be exposed.
The typical Huizhou style of architecture, although there are many tourists, the commercial atmosphere is not strong, but more like the charm of a rural ancient town. Many students collect folk songs inside, which also constitutes a beautiful scenery.
It is mainly a concentrated display of Huizhou-style architectural scenery with a strong humanistic atmosphere.
Surrounded by mountains and rivers, with white walls and black tiles, hardworking people, very unique
Hongcun, the most typical representative of Huizhou architecture
A casual shot is a beautiful landscape painting
Nanhu Lake is also the filming location for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Here you can quietly sketch and paint🎨
It feels like being in Tao Yuanming's Peach Blossom Spring🌸
Beautiful~🌿
A relatively distinctive Hui-style building. The house looks a bit historical. There are relatively few public toilets inside, but the scenery is still good.
I originally planned to go to Wuyuan again, but when I checked the weather, it was raining all the time, so I turned around on the highway and went to Hongcun. It was not quite the same as the Hongcun I had imagined from the pictures I saw online. The weather was not very good when I went there, it was cloudy and drizzling, but it was in this kind of weather that I could feel the countryside in the painting more.
The landscape of Hongcun is like a real ink painting. It is so beautiful in its simplicity, tranquility and harmony.
The scenery of Hongcun is amazing, with Huizhou architectural features. The streets and alleys are also very impressive.
Really good. The world is so big, I want to go see it~
It is a very well-known tourist attraction, a place you will regret not visiting but will regret visiting once you visit. It is crowded with people and small red flags.
You can go and have a look. There are a lot of food in Hongcun, but it is not very ornamental.
The beauty of Hongcun lies mainly in its architecture, the white walls and black tiles of Nanhu Lake. Nanhu Lake is really beautiful. It looks good in the morning and night, in summer and in winter. There are groups of people sketching here.
The commercialization is a bit serious, but the architecture is okay.
I have always heard that the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River are so beautiful, but seeing is believing.
One of the world heritage sites - the ancient villages in southern Anhui, but it has a strong commercial atmosphere.
I stayed in Hongcun on August 17, 2018. Hongcun is an outstanding representative of Huizhou's traditional regional culture, architectural technology, and landscape design. It has extremely high historical, artistic, and scientific value and is a true witness to Huizhou's traditional architectural culture. Hongcun has been listed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
Compared with other ancient towns, Hongcun is not big, so if you don’t have plenty of time, there is no need to stay in the village. Half a day is enough to visit it all.
Hongcun is a representative of Huizhou ancient villages and an ancient Huizhou village with a quaint charm.
Hongcun is picturesque and did not disappoint. There are few people in the off-season and it is very quiet.
In the morning, we took a walk in Hongcun. The sun was warm on my body, and the white walls and green tiles made life in the small town so comfortable! We walked slowly and talked about our childhood stories while walking. We were still wasting time and were very happy.
Really, for me as a northerner, it is indeed a small and fresh town, and the B&B is also great, and the prices in the scenic area are acceptable
This place particularly reflects the ancient Huizhou culture and is definitely worth a visit.
The Hongcun Scenic Area is still worth a visit. The ink-and-wash Hongcun is not an exaggeration at all, especially Hongcun after the snow in winter, which is breathtakingly beautiful. The authentic Huizhou architecture, the world-renowned Huizhou culture, and the local customs and practices are intoxicating.
In this pristine Jiangnan village, the houses, streets and ponds are all in typical Hui style. The people are simple and the air is fresh. If you live here for a long time, health and longevity will not be a problem.
Autumn has autumn scenery, winter has winter scenery, the snow scenery is beautiful and very touching
The most representative village among the Hui-style residential villages, known as the "village in Chinese paintings"
It is recommended to go at a good time (* ̄m ̄) It is really not suitable. The water is not green~~ yellow water~~😞
A bit expensive overall. The hairy tofu and stinky mandarin fish are worth trying. Remember to bargain. You can stay in the scenic area. Remember to bargain in the off-season.
Hongcun is like an ink painting, silently watching the flow of people coming and going. Here, time seems to stand still and everything slows down.
Hongcun is very small and you can basically go around it in three or four hours. There are more tourists during the day, most of them are tour groups. The night view at night and the silence in the early morning are great. If time permits, you can consider staying in Hongcun for a night to experience the Huizhou style. I am from Anhui, and I have experienced too much since I was a child, so I don’t feel anything~~
Except for the large number of tourists, everything else is good. I went there more than ten years ago. There were already crowds of people during the day, and there were also a lot of art students. The best time is in the early morning when the sun just rises, and the photos are very beautiful. I don't know how much the fee is now, but it was quite expensive back then.
Hongcun is quite fun, hahahahahahahahaha
The most fascinating place in my life is Huizhou. Hongcun is amazing.
A must-see when visiting Huizhou. Although it has a bit of a commercial atmosphere, you can go to Tachuan, Lucun, and Xiuli with Hongcun as the center. Yixian County is not far away. It is surrounded by mountains and is a pearl with water as its beauty. You should still take a look.
Whether the scenery is good or not depends mainly on the small number of people... As a northerner, I recommend buying some dried fruits, which are really cheap here~~
Like a painting in ink and color, no matter it is early morning or dusk, Hongcun always makes people fascinated and intoxicated.
Among the many unique Hui-style residential villages in southern Anhui, Hongcun is the most representative. [1] From the perspective of the entire Hongcun landscape, Hongcun is a unique ox-shaped ancient village in the ancient Yi Peach Blossom Spring. It has both the wildness of mountains and forests and the style of a water village. It is known as the "village in Chinese paintings". Each household in the village is connected by a waterway, and gurgling springs flow through each household. The layers of buildings and courtyards complement the scenery of lakes and mountains. There are scenes everywhere and every step is like a painting. Walking leisurely in the courtyard, the leisurely feeling is so strong that it makes people intoxicated.
There are more than 140 Ming and Qing dwellings well preserved in the village, and other famous scenic spots include: Spring Dawn at Nanhu Lake, Reading in the Academy, Lotus in the Moon Pond, Niuchang Canal, Shuangxi Yingbi, Ancient Trees in Front of the Pavilion, Leigang Sunset, etc. A large number of ancient dwellings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, which are unique and meticulously carved, such as Shuren Hall, Taoyuanju, Jingxiu Hall, Deyi Hall, and Biyuan, have been perfectly preserved.
