Huangshan Scenic Area

I have been to Huashan before and I still miss it. This time I went to Huangshan with great expectations. After all, after Huangshan, you can't miss other mountains. However, even though I enjoyed the sunrise and sunset, which added a lot of points, I was still a little disappointed with this trip. I still love Huashan more.

I specially chose a non-weekend day to go hiking. When I arrived at 7:30, the cable car queue was already very long. My first feeling when I got to the mountain was, wow, it's so beautiful. But after walking for a while, I saw the same scenery over and over again, and all I could feel was wow, oh. I was already aesthetically fatigued. I kept going up and down the hills, and occasionally took a couple of photos at the observation deck. The only things that left an impression on me were the monkeys watching the sea and the Flying Stone. There was no danger and fun in climbing Huashan, only tiredness.

In addition, the signposts in Huangshan are really poor. Some forks have no signposts at all. Even where there are signposts, it is easy to get confused. At a three-way intersection in the Xihai Grand Canyon, I encountered several groups of tourists who didn't know where to go.

This is probably a place you won't regret or be surprised by. If you don't have any other options, it doesn't matter if you go there. After all, you've been there. The sun is scorching on the mountain and it's dry in the hotel, so take good care of yourself and keep hydrated.

I didn't see the sunrise, sunset and sea of clouds during this trip to Huangshan, which was a bit regretful. I climbed up to the Lotus Peak, but it was foggy because of the rain, so I couldn't see anything. I just kept climbing up. Tiandu Peak was not open this year. I wanted to experience it after seeing the appearance. I can only climb the peak again after it is open in a few years. Huangshan is still very beautiful, although it is very tiring, and you have to stay at the top of the mountain to have the energy to play the whole Huangshan. You still have to read the travel guide. The suggestions in it are very good.

Due to time constraints, the master once suggested that we should give up Huangshan and go to Shexian County for an in-depth tour, but I insisted on coming to Huangshan, just because of the saying "After visiting the Five Sacred Mountains, you can't visit other mountains; after visiting Huangshan, you can't visit other mountains." In fact, this saying originated from Xu Xiake, a traveler in the Ming Dynasty. After visiting Huangshan, he praised it highly: "There is nothing like Huangshan in Anhui Province. After climbing Huangshan, there is no mountain in the world that can surpass it!" Since then, Huangshan has become famous both at home and abroad.

In fact, Huangshan was not originally called Huangshan. It was called "Yishan" in ancient times because it looked like a dark blue mountain from a distance and was vast and green, so it was named "Yishan". According to legend, Emperor Huangdi led his ministers Rong Chengzi and Fuqiu Gong to make elixirs here and eventually ascended to heaven. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty was a devout Taoist, so in the sixth year of Tianbao (747 AD), he ordered to change "Yishan" to Huangshan. The name of Huangshan has been used ever since. For more than a thousand years, Huangshan has accumulated a rich Huangdi culture. The names of scenic spots such as Xuanyuan Peak, Liandan Peak, Rongcheng Peak, and Fuqiu Peak are all related to Huangdi. Compared with famous mountains such as Taishan and Huashan, Huangshan is a rising star. After the name change, Huangshan welcomed the first celebrity in history—Li Bai. "Mount Huangshan is four thousand feet high and has thirty-two lotus peaks." Li Bai used his brilliant writing skills to write the earliest poem about Mount Huangshan and also showed Mount Huangshan to the world for the first time. Since then, Mount Huangshan has slowly come into people's field of vision.

Main peak: The main peak is Lianhua Peak, with an altitude of 1,864.8 meters. It is known as the three main peaks of Huangshan together with Guangmingding and Tiandu Peak.

Wonderful scenery: Huangshan has five wonders and three waterfalls. The five wonders are: strange pines, strange rocks, sea of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow; the three waterfalls are: Renzi Waterfall, Baizhang Spring, and Jiulong Waterfall.

Culture: It is a world cultural and natural dual heritage, with not only beautiful natural scenery but also profound historical and cultural heritage.

Huangshan ticket price: peak season price 190 yuan (March 1st to November 30th every year); off-season price 150 yuan (December 1st to February 28th every year).

Huangshan Cableway Price: Huangshan Cableway has 4 routes: Yungu Cableway [Yungu Temple (back mountain) - Baieling], Yuping Cableway [Ciguang Pavilion (front mountain) - Yuping Tower], Taiping Cableway [Songgu Temple (North Gate) - Songlin Peak] and Huangshan Xihai Grand Canyon Ground Rail Cable Car. All cableways are charged one way.

The peak season price of Yungu Cableway is ￥80 yuan/person, and the off-season price is ￥65 yuan/person.

The peak season price of Yuping Cableway is ￥90 yuan/person, and the off-season price is ￥75 yuan/person.

The sunrise at Huangshan is really beautiful. Huangshan with good weather will make people linger. On the first day of our trip, the weather was foggy and we couldn't see anything. We were unwilling to give up. Then we checked the weather and decided to stay on the top of the mountain for one night, looking forward to the sunrise the next morning. We arrived at the Guangmingding Sun Observation Platform at 4:30 in the morning. The front seats were all occupied 😂, and then we waited for more than an hour. At 5:54, the sun slowly rose from a beam of aurora, and there were screams. After watching the sunrise, we checked in at Lotus Peak and Welcoming Pine. We didn't have enough time, so we hiked down the mountain from Ciguang Pavilion. It is said that Huangshan cannot be fully enjoyed in one trip. Looking forward to the next trip to Huangshan.

Huangshan City has rich tourism resources. Huangshan Scenic Area is the main scenic spot and also the core itinerary of the Huicheng tour.

The essence of Huangshan Mountain covers 154 square kilometers, mainly in Beihai Scenic Area, Xihai Scenic Area, Baiyun Scenic Area and Yuping Scenic Area. It is recommended to arrange at least 2 days to fully visit the essence of the scenic spots. You can stay in the mountains and at the foot of the mountains to experience different funs, so that you can catch the sunrise and sunset and have a good rest. After Huangshan Mountain, there are also scenic spots such as Emerald Valley (Lover's Valley), Jiulong Waterfall, Taiping Lake, and Shimen Gorge not far away.

If you have enough time, you can also visit Tunxi, Yixian, Shexian and Qimen counties around Huangshan City to experience the profound ancient charm of Huizhou. The various ancient towns and villages and Hui-style buildings will make you linger. Therefore, it is generally enough to spend 3-4 days in Huangshan and its surrounding areas.

After climbing Huangshan, there is no mountain in the world that can surpass it!" Later generations extended it to "After visiting the Five Sacred Mountains, you will not visit other mountains; after visiting Huangshan, you will not visit other mountains."



Huangshan Mountain combines the beauty of all the famous mountains in China. It is famous for its four unique features: strange pines, strange rocks, sea of clouds and hot springs. Winter snow has become the fifth unique feature of Huangshan Mountain. Huangshan Mountain not only has unique natural landscapes, but also has a profound cultural heritage. It is said that Emperor Huangdi once made elixirs here. Therefore, Huangshan Mountain is not only famous for its scenery, but also a popular place for Taoists for thousands of years. Li Bai and other great poets also left magnificent poems here.



Huangshan has thousands of peaks and valleys. There are 72 peaks that are famous, including the three main peaks of "Lotus", "Guangmingding" and "Tiandu", all of which are above 1,800 meters above sea level. They are majestic and majestic. Huangshan was originally named "Yishan" because the peaks and rocks look dark blue from a distance. Because it is said that Emperor Huangdi once collected herbs and made elixirs here and became an immortal, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty changed "Yishan" to "Huangshan" in the sixth year of Tianbao (747 AD). For more than a thousand years, Huangshan has accumulated a strong Huangdi culture. Xuanyuan Peak, Liandan Peak, Rongcheng Peak, Fuqiu Peak, Danjing, Xiyao Creek, and Sunning Medicine Platform are all related to Huangdi.

I climbed Huashan some time ago, so the two mountains formed a strong contrast. Huangshan is still good in terms of scenery, but it is not as special as Huashan. I feel that the best scenery is Danxia Peak and the Grand Canyon. In the end, if it is not for watching the sunrise and encountering the sea of clouds, it is really not as good as Huashan. On the contrary, in terms of my overall feeling, Huashan is more humane and more like a pure tourist attraction; while Huangshan is more like a commercial travel attraction. From the details, Huashan has more public toilets, and there will be free tables and chairs on the road, which can be used for eating. Even if you eat on the mountain, a set meal of pork chop rice is between 30-40. Huangshan only has benches and no free tables. It is very inconvenient to eat, and the price of eating on the mountain is very high. A bowl of green vegetable noodles in the food court next to Baiyun Hotel is 65. And there are fewer public toilets. So if you come to Huangshan, it is really a good place to travel if you have money. If you travel on a budget, you should fight for your body.

Huangshan is a world natural and cultural dual heritage, a world geological park, one of the top ten scenic spots in China, and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Huangshan Scenic Area covers an area of 160.6 square kilometers, starting from Huangshi in the east, ending at Xiaolingjiao in the west, starting from Erlong Bridge in the north, and reaching Tangkou Town in the south. The front mountain is known for its steepness and difficulty in climbing, so it is used as the route down the mountain. My plan is to start from Yungu Temple, take the Yungu Cableway, and start the tour from the back mountain. I stayed at Xihai Villa that day, went to the Xihai Grand Canyon Scenic Area in the afternoon, watched the sunrise at Danxia Peak next to the hotel the next morning, and returned from the front mountain in the afternoon.

The impression of Huangshan is still great 👍🎊🎉🎈🍾️However, good weather is not common, it takes the right time, right place and right people ~ (usually if it rained the day before, the probability of seeing the sunrise and the sea of clouds is higher)

🥰🥰There are generally two ways to go up the mountain: 1⃣️Go up the front mountain and go down the back mountain. 2⃣️Go up the back mountain and go down the front mountain. The specific China-TravelNote strategy is already very detailed, so I won’t introduce it in detail. We chose the 2⃣️ method and stayed in Huangshan for one night. (From April to October in Huangshan, there are many tourists and accommodation is tight. You should stay in the mountain as early as possible or book in advance through travel agencies and hotel service companies. The accommodation price is generally around 200 to 500 per night for upper and lower bunks. The better ones are too expensive... The rich ignore it)

If you are physically fit, you can hike up the mountain. It normally takes 3 to 4 hours to reach your accommodation, Paiyun Tower. If time and physical strength do not allow, you can still take the cable car 🚡, which is also a different experience!

It is enough to bring a normal amount of food when going up the mountain. We brought a lot of food, which was heavy and tiring, and we still haven't finished eating. We can only give it away... (The trash cans on Huangshan are all made of stone. In order to protect the environment, you can't eat instant noodles. There is no instant noodles for sale on Huangshan. You can bring them secretly and eat them in the hotel. Remember, you must dispose of your own garbage)

Be sure to pay attention to safety

Safety (remember): Wear flat-heeled rubber saddles, cloth shoes, and hiking shoes when climbing. Do not wear high-heeled leather shoes. There are views at every step in Huangshan, and every view is worthy of being painted, but you cannot walk and look at the view at the same time to avoid accidents. This is called looking at the view without walking, and walking without looking at the view. On rainy days, you can spend a few yuan to buy a disposable raincoat locally, which is much more convenient and safer than carrying an umbrella. Photography in Huangshan is different from photography in the park. In the park, both the person being photographed and the photographer can step back a few steps at will to adjust the angle, but when taking photos in Huangshan, you must not step back at will, because there may be a cliff behind you. You must look back to see if there is room to retreat to avoid falling. This situation can be avoided with a little attention. The mountain roads in Huangshan are steep and dangerous. People with high blood pressure and heart disease should not travel alone in the mountains, let alone be in danger, in addition to carrying the necessary emergency medicines with them.



The best places to watch the sunrise in Huangshan are Qingliangtai and Shizifeng in Beihai, followed by Guangmingding and Yupinglou. Sunrise time: Spring: 5:30-6:00; Summer: 4:40-5:20; Autumn: 4:50-5:20; Winter: 5:30-6:00.

Huangshan Scenic Area is pretty good, but many restaurants in Tangkou Town are a rip-off. We went to a restaurant (the first picture) with bamboo shoots and bacon for 180 yuan, which was too little and unpalatable. The stinky mandarin fish was prepared in advance and served directly, which was also over 100 yuan and was particularly unpalatable. We ordered nine dishes, and I thought the shredded potatoes were the best. The next day, I went to Lao Xie Hui Cuisine Restaurant on someone's recommendation. It was much better than the one we had before, that's it.

If you want to know whether Huangshan is worth visiting, my answer is that it is definitely worth visiting if the weather is good. As for bad weather, it depends on the degree. In many cases, the weather will not affect the visit to Huangshan, because the weather in Huangshan is always unpredictable. There are fewer people and it is more comfortable when you go there in winter, but another disadvantage of winter travel is that people are very tired, tired from climbing mountains, tired from carrying things, and heavy clothes, so those who are not physically fit should not go in winter. There are too many reviews on Huangshan and too many beautiful scenery photos 😘. As a person who is not good at using mobile phone, I will not comment on the scenic spots. Instead, I will introduce the camping situation in Huangshan to you.

The best place for camping on the top of the mountain is the basketball court in front of Beihai Hotel. There is a police station and a canteen here. You can use the hotel's hot water and toilets, rent quilts, and the site fee is 30 yuan. However, it is easy to be full during holidays. At this time, you can only set up tents on the hardened ground around Beihai Hotel. There are also hikers who set up tents on Guangmingding, but I have not been there, so I don't know what the situation is there.

Route arrangement: It is recommended to go up the mountain from the back mountain in the morning. Bring some instant food and quick-heating food. The climb takes 2-3 hours, and you can basically reach Baieling and Beihai Hotel at noon. Set up the tent and take the instant food as lunch. In the afternoon, you can go to Monkey Sea Viewing and Xihai Grand Canyon with light luggage. Eat quick-heating food at night, listen to the pine waves, and rest early. Set off in the morning of the second day, go down the mountain via Guangmingding, Yuzui, Lianhua Mountain, Yingkesong, and Tiandu Peak. You can reach Ciyun Pavilion where you can take the shuttle bus at around 2 or 3 pm, and then return.

Seasonal arrangements. We went camping twice, once on May Day and once on Qingming Festival. During the May Day period, you only need to bring some long-sleeved jackets, and during the Qingming Festival, you need to be prepared for the cold. The temperature on the top of the mountain was minus seven degrees Celsius... There were few people in the entire basketball court who were not woken up by the cold. We only prepared thermal underwear and 5-degree sleeping bags, but it was still cold.

The saying "After visiting Huangshan, you will never want to see another mountain" is well-deserved. Even in winter, the mountains are still extremely beautiful. It would be great if it could snow.

Regarding taking photos, I know that tourist attractions in mainland China are always crowded even in the off-season, but I would like to say that I hope everyone can be a little more polite when taking photos, and don't force yourself to be in the frame or rush to grab the opportunity.

At the transfer center, you can choose whether to take the cable car or not. If you don't take the cable car, you can choose to walk directly to Huangshan. You can take a bus to Ciguang Pavilion, buy a ticket to Huangshan there, and then walk up the mountain. If you choose to take the cable car, you can buy a ticket to Yungu Temple, and then buy a ticket to Huangshan. The bus ticket for both locations is 19 yuan.

Since I was here to torture myself, I bought myself a bus ticket to Ciguang Pavilion. I thought I could climb up. It would take about an hour. I arrived at the ticket office at the foot of the mountain. I booked the tickets online one day in advance. Now is the off-season. Adult tickets only cost 150 yuan. I just need to show my ID card at the window to exchange for tickets. The weather is really good, and the sky is too blue, hehe.

Hiking route reminder:

1) If you feel that you have good physical strength and are capable of challenging the climb (I’m so sorry, I felt like calling an ambulance in the first two hours, I was so exhausted), then you can choose the route I took this time and start hiking up the mountain directly from Ciguang Pavilion. It will take about 3-4 hours to reach the Welcoming Pine and about 5 hours to reach the Bright Summit.

2) If you feel that you have average physical strength, you can choose to take a bus from the transfer center to the Yungu Temple Cableway, take the cableway directly up the mountain, and then hike up halfway up the mountain. It should take about two hours to arrive.

3) Some scenic spots have been closed. The Tiandu Peak and Xihai Grand Canyon that I visited this time were both closed.

4) It is really necessary to bring trekking poles! !

The hundreds of miles of sea of clouds in Huangshan in winter make people intoxicated and dreamy. We moved step by step along the trail, from one hill to another. The leading tour guide led us forward. The narrow trail was often blocked. This is Huangshan. The road in Huangshan has ups and downs. The cable car only takes us to an altitude of about 1,200 meters. We have to measure and experience the road step by step. It is a good choice to visit Huangshan in winter, because there are fewer rainy days in winter. Many photographers choose to wait for the sunrise of Huangshan in winter. We continued our pace in the blue sky. The mountain body of Huangshan is mainly composed of Yanshanian granite, with developed vertical joints, strong erosion and cutting, interlaced fractures and fissures, and long-term water dissolution, forming the current granite caves and channels.

Many people think that it is very cold on the mountain. In fact, when you walk on the mountain, there is actually no temperature difference between the mountain and the foot of the mountain. It is just that the temperature difference between morning and evening is colder.

The so-called South Gate of Huangshan Scenic Area is in a town called Tangkou. This is where the most tourists gather in Huangshan. Most tourists choose to go up the mountain from the South Gate of Huangshan. Due to safety considerations, self-driving is not allowed in Huangshan. There is a parking lot at the entrance of the South Gate Scenic Area for self-driving tourists to park. The cost for one night is about a few dozen yuan, which is quite reasonable.

After waiting in the designated area for a while, the scenic bus came to us. Generally, you can choose to go up the front mountain or the back mountain (Yungusi Temple). This time I chose the back mountain. The Yungu Temple cableway will directly take you to the area where Huangshan attractions are concentrated, where you will also meet tourists walking up the mountain. The Yungu Temple cableway entrance is also the place where Huangshan tickets are sold. Another benefit: if you bring tickets or ticket purchase information for the Hangzhou-Huangshan high-speed rail, Huangshan tickets can be discounted!

When it comes to accommodation on Huangshan Mountain, there are only a few hotels. People usually choose Beihai, Xihai, and Shilin because these hotels are very close to Danxia Peak where you can watch the sunset, and you can walk there in about ten minutes. At the same time, it is not far to choose Guangmingding to watch the sunrise the next day, and it only takes more than 40 minutes to walk.

“After visiting the Five Sacred Mountains, you will not look at any other mountains; after visiting Mount Huangshan, you will not look at any other mountains.” I have always been skeptical about this saying until I met it for the first time four years ago and got to know it well. Mount Huangshan is currently the only scenic spot in the country that has the three “crowns” of World Natural Heritage, World Cultural Heritage and World Geopark. It is one of the top ten scenic spots in China, a national 5A-level tourist attraction, the first of the three mountains among the Three Mountains and Five Sacred Mountains in China, and one of the top ten famous mountains in China. These titles are enough to prove its charm, making me dream about it and yearn for it. I felt it was amazing before I knew it, and I was amazed after the visit! This is the most amazing mountain in the world - Mount Huangshan.

As I lacked confidence in my physical strength, I finally chose to take the cable car up the front mountain and then hike down the back mountain.

1. The first route up the mountain is to hike up the back mountain on the first day, from the Yungu Temple trailhead to Baieling, which takes about 3 hours. The route is relatively flat, and you can visit the Shixin Peak, Mengbi Shenghua, and Monkey Watching the Sea on the back mountain, and stay at Paiyun Tower. On the second day, you can visit Feilai Stone, Guangmingding, and Yingkesong, and take the cable car down the mountain. This is just the right way to allocate your energy for two days.

2. The second route up the mountain is to take the cable car up the front mountain on the first day, and see the Welcoming Pine, the Skyline, the Aoyu Peak, the Flying Stone, and the Paiyun Tower. On the second day, visit the back mountain, and then walk down the mountain. Normally, it takes 2 hours. Since the downhill route is more damaging to the knees, people with weak legs and feet should choose it carefully. I was skeptical about my physical strength, and I was afraid that if I climbed up from the back mountain, I would not be able to walk until I reached the front mountain, and I would not be able to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the front mountain. If you are in the same situation as me, you can choose this route, after all, you have seen the Welcoming Pine. If you really can't do it, you can go down the mountain directly by Taiping Cableway.

3. The third route up the mountain is what I strongly recommend. On the first day, take the Taiping Cableway at the North Gate, visit the back mountain first, then visit Feilai Stone and Guangmingding, stay at Baiyun Hotel, and visit the front mountain on the second day, and go down the mountain by the front mountain cableway. This route is the easiest to climb. When the cableway at the back mountain is closed, the tour groups all take this route, and they have more experience. The problem of how to get to the North Gate is also easy to solve. It costs 180 yuan to share a car from the South Gate to the North Gate. For 4 or 5 people, 50 yuan per person is enough. It is best to have a companion. If not, ask the hostel to find a carpooling driver in advance, and they will contact you if there is a carpooling.

I watched the weather forecast for a long time in a row, and it kept saying that there would be light rain in the next few days. However, the most beautiful sea of clouds appeared on the first day I went up the mountain. So the appearance of the sea of clouds does not require checking the weather forecast, it all depends on your luck.

When I got off the cable car, I saw the sea of clouds that I had been longing for. Although they didn’t have the momentum of rolling clouds, the gently flowing clouds already made my heart boil!

The weather became clearer as we walked, and we could see the sea of clouds in the distance. We were happy and moved forward slowly, feeling lucky. But the sea of clouds was just a flash in the pan, and before we could finish feeling happy, everything was covered in fog again.

A reminder to all beekeepers who are planning to visit Huangshan: when you see the sea of clouds, you must seize the opportunity. Don’t walk slowly like we did. Run as fast as you can to find the nearest viewing platform to view the sea of clouds.

We took the cable car from Ciguang Pavilion to Yuping Tower. Tourists walked in the crystal clear rime, which was like a fairyland.

The rime gave us an unexpected surprise. According to historical records, rime (snow rime and rain rime) appears in Huangshan for only more than 50 days each year.

During the two days in Huangshan, I saw different scenery of Huangshan.

On the first day, I stayed at the top of the mountain and watched the sunset. The distant mountains were stacked up one after another, and birds flew through the clouds. When you stand on the top of the mountain and see the afterglow of the sunset pouring down, penetrating the clouds and shining on the tourists, you will sigh at your own insignificance, the vastness of all things, and the vastness of the world.

I got up early the next day and wanted to watch the sunrise at Huangshan, but I didn't expect it to be covered in fog. The whole mountain seemed to be shrouded in thick fog, which was even more charming.

We could have gone the easy route but chose the hard route. We chose to hike up the front mountain - Ciguang Pavilion. All the strategies and routes we had planned became a piece of paper when we arrived at the ticket office. When it came to the actual practice, it felt like we had learned a lot of theoretical knowledge, and now we finally started to practice, and we were always a little stretched and at a loss.

The slope of the front mountain is indeed quite steep. Fortunately, we were going up the mountain. If we were going down the mountain, I think it would have been even more terrifying.

It is indeed possible to go up and down the mountain in one day, but if you want to see the sunrise and sunset, or don't want to rush, you still need to stay overnight on the mountain. The sunrise and sunset are really great, highly recommended! !

The route of Huangshan is confusing, probably because each point has a name. Anyway, that's how I got confused. In fact, just remember a few main points and then conquer them one by one.

The huge peaks and tall pine trees are as beautiful as artificial bonsai. In fact, it should be said that bonsai imitates the beauty of nature. Huangshan, the first of the Five Sacred Mountains, is worthy of its reputation. Huangshan is not very high in altitude, and the temperature on the mountain is relatively pleasant. It is much more comfortable than watching the sunrise at more than 3,000 or 4,000 meters in Sichuan. Moreover, the meteorological station is located at Guangmingding, and the predictions of temperature, sunrise time, and sunset time are very accurate. Last night was the 15th day of the lunar calendar. The moonlight at night was very bright, and it shone into the room and woke me up directly. It was a pity that I didn’t bring more equipment, and the beautiful scenery can only be remembered in my heart.

A group of people climbed up the steep stone steps to the top of the mountain. The cliffs along the way were yellow-brown, thousands of feet high and extremely steep, and clusters of green pines grew on the top of the rock walls. I think this may be the character of Huangshan pine: surviving in desperate situations. Although the sky was still full of thick white clouds, a bright skyline appeared under the clouds. I was secretly relieved and glad that the weather was about to clear up. It didn't take long to climb to the top of the mountain. Looking at the Shixin Peak in the distance, there were large areas of yellow-brown rock walls exposed. There were large areas of clouds gathered between the peaks, which looked even more magnificent and vast. I hope to be in this natural and beautiful mountain and river to purify our body and mind and feel the world's willingness to give up. Fortunately, the road after reaching the top of the mountain is still relatively flat, and there are no major ups and downs until Beihai Hotel.

Later, we crossed a beam and went down the mountain. We saw a winding plank road on the dark brown mountainside. The surrounding mountains were still covered with clouds and mist, which was very steep. After walking along the plank road and turning a corner along the mountain, we began the hard climbing section again. The mountains and rocks beside the road were hazy, appearing and disappearing from time to time, sometimes inky black, and sometimes gray-brown. Smoke and clouds kept rolling between the peaks, and the scenery was changing from time to time. It felt like coming to a fairyland in the clouds. Sometimes the peaks half-covered by clouds and mist, together with the naked boulders and the pine trees all over the mountains, painted a beautiful landscape painting, full of haziness and mystery. Sometimes, from the sea of clouds, there emerged towering and steep peaks, and the green pines growing along the mountain were tall and lush. The picture looked like thousands of troops lined up with spears, or like gods from all sides riding clouds.

As we walked along, I admired the mountain scenery all around. I thought that such a rare opportunity would soon be gone. Whenever I saw a good view, I would take pictures without getting tired of it, so that I would not regret it in the future. As I walked along, I was used to the image of Huangshan pine. When I compared it with the image of the Welcoming Pine in the Great Hall of the People, I felt the same. It seemed that the Welcoming Pine was everywhere on Huangshan Mountain.

I have been admiring it for many years and finally saw its true face today. Huangshan has beautiful scenery in all seasons, but spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit Huangshan. The second day after the snow cleared, which coincided with the New Year's Eve, there were fewer tourists on Huangshan Mountain. There were no queues at the transfer center and Yuping Cableway.

There is not much snow on the front mountain, but there is a lot of snow starting from Aoyubei. There is a lot of snow on the back mountain. The day before, I hoped that there would still be snow, but the day after, I doubted myself why I didn’t endure the hardship.

But Huangshan is really easy. I took a breath when I climbed up the Welcoming Pine. After that, I walked and stopped a lot. It was easier than Hengshan. It was a bit tiring to go down the mountain because of the ice.

In addition, you must wear crampons when you go to Huangshan after the snow. No matter what others say, be prepared.

2023.7.16-17 The two of us took a 2-day trip to Huangshan. It can be said that the scenery of Huangshan is indeed the best among the three mountains; the sea of clouds and sunrise are very spectacular, but there are too many tourists during the peak tourist season, and the experience of traveling during the rainy season is not good;

After breakfast early in the morning, those who were going to climb the Huangshan North Gate and Jiuhua Mountain set out at 7 o'clock (those who were going to the front mountain could set out later).

Since I had visited Huangshan for two days in 2009 and had visited all the places I should have visited, and the tickets to the Huangshan scenic area were too expensive (scenic area ticket: 230 RMB; Yungu and Taiping cableway tickets (one-way): 80 RMB; Yuping cableway ticket (one-way): 90 RMB; Xihai Grand Canyon sightseeing cable car (one-way): 100 RMB, scenic area bus one-way: 19 RMB). So this time I chose to visit the famous Buddhist mountain Jiuhua Mountain.

I didn’t have a personal experience at Huangshan this time. Anyway, the weather was not very good in the afternoon and I couldn’t see far. So I’ll just post some photos of Huangshan in the fog taken by my friends!

2. Huangshan is pretty good, highly recommended.

① It is not recommended to climb Huangshan in one day, as it will be very tiring and rushed.

② Friends who have money and time are advised to stay for 2-3 days. There are several hotels on the top of the mountain. You can stay for 2 nights, walk slowly and take your time to see the sights.

③It is recommended to go up from Yungu Temple on the back mountain, because the back mountain is close to several hotels. In this way, you don’t have to carry too much luggage. You can check in at the hotel first, put down your clothes, and travel easily.

④ Be sure to buy retractable trekking poles on Taobao in advance. I bought a Camel brand one, which cost about 60 yuan. Mount Huangshan is full of stairs, and climbing up and down hurts your knees. I have seen people with injured knees limping down the mountain in pain. Don’t try to be a hero for a while and end up with a chronic disease.

⑤ Huizhou cuisine is also very good, the stinky mandarin fish is a must!

⑥ The transportation in Huangshan is quite convenient. The city is only an hour away from various scenic spots. There are airports and high-speed railways, so the transportation is convenient.

It is super beautiful, like a fairyland, eye-opening. It is recommended to stay in the mountain for one night and two days, so that you can visit the front mountain and the back mountain of Xihai Grand Canyon. Although there are cable cars up and down the mountain, there are many steps between scenic spots and to the Lotus Peak and Guangmingding. It is recommended that you bring less luggage and be prepared for mountain climbing. The ticket price for the scenic spot is 230 yuan, which will be cheaper if you buy it online. Undergraduates and below can bring their student ID to buy discounted tickets.

The scenery is pleasant. I have been there twice and each time I have gained a lot. The sea of clouds, light rain, Buddha light, strange rocks, and strange pines have all been seen twice.

I will climb to the top of the mountain and see all the other mountains! I love this Huangshan Mountain. The mountains, trees, clouds and rocks are so beautiful that I can't describe them with words. The vastness of the world is shocking. Although the journey is rugged and thrilling, it is definitely worth the trip! I like climbing mountains, and I like the feeling of seeing everything at the top of the mountain. Friends who love climbing mountains must be afraid of Huangshan Mountain. My childhood friend and I have had a special obsession with camping on the top of a mountain since we were very young. Last September, when summer and autumn were changing, I had just quit my job and was taking a break, so I started planning this trip to Huangshan. One reason was to fulfill my dream of camping on the top of a mountain, and the other was to see the "sea of clouds" and "sunrise".

We drove there by ourselves. It is recommended that self-driving with more than 4 people is more convenient and worry-free than traveling by bus. Obviously, it would be a bit lonely for just the two of us to drive by ourselves.

A 3-day, 3-night trip from Songjiang, Shanghai to Huangshan.

The plan is to stay at a hotel at the foot of the mountain on the first night, camp at the top of the mountain on the second night, rest at the hotel at the foot of the mountain on the third night and then return.

The environment of nearby hotels is definitely worse than that of the city, so choose carefully before you go. I can't bear to look at those complicated small hotels with shabby facades and I don't know how sanitary they are inside.

There are tents and sleeping bags for rent at the foot of the mountain! You don't need to buy them if you rent them, but if you drive yourself, you should bring your own. The quality of the rental ones...

Even if you go there in the summer, you must bring a cotton jacket if you stay overnight at the top of the mountain! The wind on the top of the mountain is very cold at night!

There is a hotel on the top of the mountain! If you have enough budget and don't want to experience camping, you can choose a hotel on the top of the mountain. It costs about 1,000 per night.

There are designated camping areas on the mountain; you can’t just find a place to set up a tent and sleep there!

Be sure to check the weather forecast in advance and don't spend the night on the top of the mountain when it's raining.

It is still very dangerous on the mountain at night. Girls need to pay attention to sun protection. Bring some food if you stay overnight.

Try not to bring too much water with you when you go up the mountain. Water is available for sale on the mountain and it only costs a few dollars more. However, you will be very tired if you bring too much water with you when climbing the mountain.

Take the cable car if there is one going up the mountain. Huangshan is too big to walk all the way up step by step.

There are many routes, just choose the one you like. It is estimated that it is impossible to visit all the mountains in two or three days.

There are many small peaks where you can watch the sunrise more beautifully, but it is relatively dangerous. It is recommended that you go to crowded places such as Guangmingding if you have children or the elderly.

Sea of clouds, sunrise. You can only see the most beautiful one. If the sunrise is very bright, you basically can't see the sea of clouds.

If there is fog at sunrise, then there is a high probability that you will see the sea of clouds when you go down the mountain.

The overall per capita budget is about 2,000, which is very affordable and the scenery is beautiful. It requires a little physical strength

Go to Huangshan to watch the sunrise. Huangshan in May is completely dark at 7 or 8 pm, but the night is slightly bright at around 4 am. The road to the observation deck on the top of the mountain is illuminated by landscape lights, which is not an excuse for you not to get up in the morning.

Huangshan is famous for its strange pines, strange rocks, sea of clouds and hot springs. We have learned about them in class, so there is no need to elaborate on them. However, whether you can see and experience them all depends on your luck. What I want to say is that the ticket to Huangshan is 190 yuan, which is really not cheap. This is the price after the price reduction. And it should be emphasized that if you want to travel around Huangshan in two days, you must take the cable car, the front mountain cable car is 90 yuan, and the back mountain cable car is 80 yuan. The previous trip to Mount Tai was up the front mountain and down the back mountain, and the trip to Mount Song was up the back mountain and down the front mountain. It was all on foot, and there was no problem. Huangshan has many peaks and ridges, including Lotus Peak (or Tiandu Peak), Guangmingding, Aoyu Peak, Shixin Peak, Danxia Peak, Shizi Peak, etc. There are also many scenic spots for taking pictures, so on the one hand, you have to consider the physical factor, and on the other hand, you have to consider the time factor. If you don’t want to waste time on the road, it is strongly recommended to take the cable car up and down the mountain.

Regarding the itinerary, it is recommended to stay in Tangkou the night before. There are many hotels in Tangkou and restaurants are nearby. In this way, you can have a good rest for a night and prepare enough physical strength for climbing the next day. You must get up early for climbing the next day, regardless of the peak season or the off-season, because there are usually many tourists in Huangshan. Large luggage can be stored in Tangkou Hotel. The luggage brought for climbing can be placed in the hotel on the mountain in the morning, and you can have fun. There are probably more than a dozen hotels on the mountain. The high-end one is Xihai Hotel, and there are also many medium and low-end ones. If it is a bed room, it can be done for one or two hundred yuan if it is not a holiday. In order to watch the sunset in the evening and the sunrise in the morning, you should stay on the top of the mountain for one night. I also saw people sleeping in tents, which should be rented from the hotel. It is not clear where to put the tents you bring with you, but it is not recommended to set up tents on Huangshan. First, the weather is too cold. It is already Qingming Festival and it is very cold indoors, let alone outside. The weather on Huangshan is changeable, and it is not clear when it will rain heavily. Food and drink on the mountain is relatively expensive. If you are not rich, just bring your own. Self-heating rice is very good and is sold in Tunxi. The soup is not very expensive either.

The scenery of Huangshan is really amazing, but the physical exertion is also the greatest among the mountains I have climbed in recent years. If you want to appreciate the scenery of Huangshan, you need at least two days. The West Sea Grand Canyon and the ground rail cable car are one line, and the Lotus Peak, Tiandu Peak and Guangmingding are another line. It is impossible to climb them all in one day. The rhododendrons all over the mountains in May are very charming, and the probability of seeing the sea of clouds is also very high.

The beauty of Huangshan is indeed well-deserved. Looking back, all the hard work of climbing is worth it. But the weather is unpredictable. It was sunny for two hours and suddenly it was cloudy. It all depends on luck.

At 8:30 am on Saturday, I bought tickets for the tickets for the cable car and bus at the transfer center, and then started a long queue. Since the back mountain is flat and there are relatively few people, I chose the Yungu cable car to go up the mountain. The bus queued for an hour and a half. After arriving at the cable car entrance, I waited for another 2 hours and finally got to the mountain. After going up, the scenery was beautiful and the air was good, which was worth waiting in line for so long...

I may have climbed only a few mountains, only about 30 or 40, but Huangshan is by far the most beautiful, bar none.
