The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum is located in the Xiannongtan Temple, and the exhibition is held inside the building.

Here is a misunderstanding. The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum is not an ancient architecture exhibition in Beijing.

Instead, it is a comprehensive exhibition hall located in Beijing that displays ancient architecture from across the country.

The exhibition hall starts from primitive society and goes all the way to the Qing Empire, and collects models of many ancient buildings in China.

The real thing is too big and cannot be moved, so it is a model and a replica.

There is also a Mendun exhibition now, which is mainly pictures and texts, nothing special.

Recommended reasons:

1. The two coolest objects in the museum are the two caissons hanging above the worship hall and the Tai Sui Hall. They are called caissons because ancient people believed that they could suppress fire. These two caissons have different shapes and are lifelike.

Especially the caisson above the Tai Sui Hall, which contains many exquisite small buildings. It is truly a masterpiece that must be seen with your own eyes.

2. Not many people know about this place, so it is very, very rare, and it feels like you are in a deserted Forbidden City.

This is probably its most attractive feature.

The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum is located in the Xiannongtan on the west side of Yongdingmen Street. It is the first thematic museum in my country that collects, studies and displays objects reflecting the history, art and technology of ancient Chinese architecture.

If you like history and ancient architecture, it is worth a visit. The only caisson in Longfu Temple is preserved, which is exquisite.

By Xlsong |

I went to see the caisson, but I accidentally discovered a brick-carved tomb. Although I couldn't go in, it was still a pleasant sight.

This is a good place to start learning about ancient Chinese architecture. It is very close to the Temple of Heaven, so you can stop by and I believe you will not be disappointed (the two exquisite caissons are enough to amaze you ❗️). The small restaurant nearby is crowded and it is some distance from the subway station. If it is convenient, you might as well come here after dinner.

The Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture is located in the Beijing Xiannongtan Temple, providing an excellent opportunity for friends who like ancient architecture to appreciate it. Here you can not only appreciate ancient architecture, but also learn a lot of knowledge. It is worth your visit. Please note that tickets are free every Wednesday!

Ticket price: 15 yuan. Keywords: sacrifice, Ming and Qing Dynasties, architecture, ingenuity.

The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum is located between Taoranting and the Temple of Heaven. The map shows that the recommended time for visiting is 30 minutes. However, if you want to take photos or learn more, you will need to prepare about 3 hours. Volunteers will provide voluntary explanations at 13:30.

The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum will tell you what the construction technology of the "Royal Garden" in Beijing is like, how the brackets, caissons, and colored glaze are made, what are the secrets, and how they are presented... For example, I can't tell the difference between the various roofs in the ancient buildings in Beijing. Here, a special space will be set aside to tell you what each roof is called and what characteristics it has. Don't know what the colored glaze beasts on the roof are called? Here is the most comprehensive popular science post. Do you know the caisson? Here, two super luxurious caissons will appear above your head.

What is so great about the Forbidden City? This niche attraction is enough to give you a general knowledge, and it is not boring at all, there are always new discoveries. The architectural pattern, building type, and construction technology of the large and small attractions in the capital are basically covered here. In summary, it is not recommended to go directly to the Forbidden City as the first thing to do when entering Beijing. There is no point in walking along the central axis. It is better to visit this museum first. It is recommended to learn some knowledge points before appreciating the physical buildings when visiting Beijing.

I visited the Ancient Architecture Museum and was a little disappointed, but I also learned a lot.

The caisson is really beautiful, and the ginkgo is also beautiful, very suitable for a leisurely daydream.

Xiannongtan is located on the west side of the central axis. Although it is not a famous royal garden, it is full of royal atmosphere. It is one of the famous "Nine Altars and Eight Temples" where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped the gods of agriculture and held ploughing ceremonies. Now Xiannongtan only exhibits a small part of the remains, and the various halls are unified as an "ancient architecture museum". It is not far from Yongdingmen and can be reached along Yongdingmen Street. It is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is integrated with Beijing's key middle school Yucai School.

In addition to strolling in the hutongs, I like to see ancient buildings. The caisson in the museum is really beautiful. I was tired from walking and sat under it to look at it for an afternoon.

Located in the Xiannongtan courtyard, it is free on Wednesdays. This is a relatively unpopular attraction. People who come here are probably interested in ancient buildings. It is very informative to take your time to look around. The effect will be even better if you meet volunteers explaining it.

Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum. Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum is located in the Beijing Xiannongtan Temple, across the road from the Temple of Heaven. Xiannongtan was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped Shennong, cultivated the fields and watched the farming. It is far away from the noisy streets, with a quiet environment, towering ancient cypresses and shady trees, which has a unique charm. It is the first thematic museum in my country to collect, study and display ancient Chinese architectural technology, art and its development history. For tourists who are only going to visit for a few days, this place may be a little off-the-beaten-path; but if you are staying in Beijing for a long time, you can try to choose this place as your first stop. Every Saturday, there is a volunteer lecturer named Li Guang, who is both in the morning and in the afternoon. I have followed him twice to listen to the afternoon lectures, and he lectured from 1:30 to 4:00 before the museum closed. The amount of information was very rich and I benefited a lot. If you don't know much about ancient buildings, listening to his lecture once can roughly build up some outlines of Chinese ancient buildings. After listening to the lecture, you can also see some of the doors when you go to see the buildings in attractions such as the Forbidden City.

I came here mid-week, and there were not many people. From the number of travel notes, it can be seen that it is not prosperous, but it is quiet, and you can savor it carefully, feel the skills of skilled craftsmen, gardens, and changes in urban development. It is worth a visit, and you need to catch the explanation at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm.

The Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum is located in the Beijing Xiannongtan. The architectural layout is neat and grand, magnificent, antique, and gives people a solemn feeling. The existing exhibitions are basically located in the Taisui Hall, the Worship Hall, the West Side Hall and other exhibition areas.

The most important thing is that it is quiet, with few people, and very suitable for strolling.

Ticket price: 15 yuan, free for primary and secondary school students and seniors over 60 years old. Free for the first 200 people on Wednesday.

Free lecture time for individual visitors: 9:30-10:30; 13:30-14:30

The Ancient Architecture Museum is located in Xiannongtan. You need to go to Nanwei Road by bus, and it will be a bit troublesome to find it when you get to Xiannongtan. There are several exhibitions about ancient architecture and architectural culture in the Ancient Architecture Museum. The ancient Chinese architecture exhibition is in the Baidian, starting from Hemudu Niuheliang, and showing the architectural characteristics of the Qing Dynasty. What is unforgettable is that each building shows what the European architecture of the same period is like, which is still very interesting to compare. But the treasure of the town should still be the Fulong Temple caisson restored in the Taisui Hall. It is really beautiful.

The disadvantage of the architectural museum is that some contents are repeated in different rooms. For example, several forms of courtyard doors are displayed in two exhibition halls.

There is also a place in the Ancient Museum where you can get your stamps. The stamps are in the shape of tiles, which are also very commemorative.

In Xiannongtan, it is close to the west gate of the Temple of Heaven and has few tourists. If you are interested in ancient Chinese architecture, you can come and have a look.

Compared with other scenic spots, this place has few tourists, a quiet environment, and towering ancient trees. It is really a good place to relax and daze. The museum is a quadrangle structure, simple and elegant, with detailed pictures and texts of architectural styles from past dynasties, a sand table of the old Beijing city, and detailed architectural models of various places. It can be used for the simplest popular science and is worth visiting again and again. The treasure of the town is the Longfu Temple caisson in the Tai Sui Hall, a national treasure. It has a palace-style layout, a five-layer structure, and vivid paintings of the Four Heavenly Kings, 28 constellations, and immortals and goddesses. The star map in the middle has 1,400 stars. Standing under the caisson is really shocking.

Great museum, not crowded, great atmosphere, each special exhibition is very rich in content. You can rent a guide or not, the content is similar to the exhibition board.

It can be said that this is a very quiet museum, which was built on the basis of the Altar of Agriculture. Therefore, it retains the scenic spots of the ancient emperors worshipping the god of agriculture and cultivating one acre and three fen of land. Although there are few people, it sets off the quiet atmosphere here. The viewing platform, the Altar of Agriculture, and the Taisui Temple, you will learn a lot about ancient architecture here. There are all kinds of architectural models, including many architectural methods, structures, and decorations in China from ancient times to the present, which are very beneficial.

By Qifang |

Located in Xiannongtan, the main part is Taisui Hall. There are many popular science introductions to ancient Chinese architecture, which is suitable for people who are interested in ancient architecture. The Longfu Temple caisson is one of the most beautiful caissons in China.
