Prince Gong's Mansion

恭王府

Prince Gong's Mansion was once the residence of Heshen. It is the best preserved Qing Dynasty palace among the existing palaces in Beijing. Prince Gong's Mansion is divided into three parts: the central, the eastern and the western parts. They are composed of multiple courtyards, and the rear part is a 160-meter-long two-story rear building. The three buildings in the central part are the main body of the mansion, one is the main hall, the second is the rear hall, and the third is the extension building. The eastern and western parts each have three courtyards, which echo the central part. The last part of the palace is the garden, with more than 20 scenic spots, each with its own attractions.

By strolling in the garden |

Take the bus directly to Beihai North Gate Station, and walk deep into Sanqiao Hutong to reach Prince Gong's Mansion. There are so many people. It seems that people are very interested in the residence of Heshen, who is known to be rich enough to rival a country and the most corrupt official in history! The ticket is 40 yuan/person. Although the area is much smaller than the Forbidden City, I think it is worth it after seeing it!
Prince Gong's Mansion is the largest prince's mansion in the Qing Dynasty. It served as the residence of Heshen and Prince Qing Yonglin successively. Later, it was given to Prince Gong Yixin, hence the name Prince Gong's Mansion, which is still in use today. It is also the only prince's mansion that has been completely preserved. It and the Forbidden City are the only ones under the jurisdiction of the Cultural Relics Bureau, while the others are under the jurisdiction of the Tourism Bureau. It can be seen that it is of great significance.
The most impressive thing about Heshen is his greed. It is said that the embezzled silver found in his house reached 1.5 billion taels, which was the total tax revenue for 15 years during the reign of Emperor Qianlong. In addition, it did not include a large number of house deeds, antique calligraphy and paintings. He was known as "I have everything in the palace, and I also have everything that is not in the palace". In the Miyun Cave in the garden, there is a stele with the word "Fu" written by Emperor Kangxi that Heshen stole from the palace. He has something that is not in the palace. The seal with "Kangxi's Imperial Pen Treasure" engraved in the center of the word "Fu" has become the only complete seal of Emperor Kangxi left in the world today. Heshen did not even let go of the bricks on the Great Wall that once defended against foreign enemies. He transported some of them back to his house and built a section of the wall in the garden!
"Heshen fell, Jiaqing was full." However, it is said that historians have repeatedly verified that when Heshen's property was confiscated, it should have been only 20 million taels of silver, and a considerable part of it was earned from his own business. He was good at calculations, and most of the silver he embezzled was invested in business. Although he was greedy, he was not as unscrupulous as rumored. Many of his negative and exaggerated information should have been spread by Emperor Jiaqing for political needs.
Prince Gong's Mansion occupies an excellent location in Beijing. It is said that there are two dragon veins in Beijing, one is the earth dragon, which is the dragon vein of the Forbidden City; the other is the water dragon, which refers to the line between Houhai and Beihai. Prince Gong's Mansion is right on the connecting line between Houhai and Beihai, that is, on the dragon vein, so the feng shui is very good. It can be seen that Heshen wanted the best of everything!
The Prince Gong Mansion uses green glazed tiles instead of the yellow glazed tiles of the Forbidden City. From the outside, it does not seem luxurious enough, but the details will make people feel that the Prince Gong Mansion is more exquisite and attentive than the Forbidden City. From the big things like the Wanfu of Heshen's house (a stele with the word "Fu" and 9,999 bats painted on the corridor wood), the Western-style gate of the garden (built in the style of the Old Summer Palace), the statue of Guanyin (it took several years to transport it from Jiangnan, and the next year his wife Feng gave birth to Heshen's only son Fengshen Yinde, who later married the tenth princess who was most favored by Emperor Qianlong), the unique treasure house (Heshen used 108 windows of different shapes to identify what treasures were hidden inside, and only Heshen himself knows the secret to this day), to the small things like every sewer designed to be shaped like a copper coin (meaning that water does not flow away wealth), all the beds, chairs, and desks are inlaid with silver ornaments, and they are still shining today. And all the houses in the mansion are made of golden nanmu.

The first thing to do when strolling to Prince Gong's Mansion is to find a tricycle for charter. There are three routes with different prices and routes. I chose the middle route, which goes around Houhai and a circle of alleys. It includes tickets to Prince Gong's Mansion for 140💴 per person. I thought it was a good deal at the time, but the more I thought about it, the more expensive it seemed.
The attractions in Beijing are 30% for seeing and 70% for listening. This is a common saying heard in the tourism industry in Beijing. For example, every brick and tile on the roadside walls were stamped with official seals, and now many of them have lost all traces of that time, but in fact every brick is a cultural relic.
When we return to the gate of Prince Gong's Mansion, the tricycle driver will give us the tickets, and then we just need to go through security check by ourselves. Here I would like to remind you that the way to visit Prince Gong's Mansion is relatively simple. You don't need to scan the QR codes at the gate for explanations. You don't have to hire a tour guide, because there will be tour groups that will hire tour guides. It costs 200 yuan for an individual to hire a tour guide.
The tricycle driver suggested that we go in and take pictures first, and then when we see the tour guide, we can go over and rub shoulders with him. It was great advice 😁.
There are many open areas in Prince Gong's Mansion, so it is a good place to visit and take pictures. The surrounding area is also very beautiful. It seems that they are not available online. I bought a batch of souvenirs, which I feel are not expensive and very meaningful.
There are many interesting exhibits in a hall of Prince Gong's Mansion, many of which were collected by the customs and include the clothes of the illegal immigrants who surrendered them at that time.

Jingshan Park is right outside the Forbidden City. Chongzhen was hanged on a crooked tree on this mountain. I didn’t go there, but went directly to Prince Gong’s Mansion.

The so-called Prince Gong Mansion was not only the home of Heshen (actually only half of it is left), but also the residence of Prince Gong Guiziliu, and the old campus of Fu Jen Catholic University.

How can you know the wealth of the local tyrants and corrupt officials without entering Prince Gong’s Mansion?

The luxury of Prince Gong's Mansion is reflected in the details. The mansion is quite large and the architecture is very fine. Even the shapes of the window lattices and door frames are different.

It can be seen how much the emperor doted on Heshen back then. Heshen was truly second only to the emperor.

"One Prince Gong Mansion represents half of the history of the Qing Dynasty." The Prince Gong Mansion has witnessed the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from its heyday to its decline, and carries extremely rich historical and cultural information.

Impression of Prince Gong's Mansion: Big! Very big! (Or maybe Lao Fang and I were tired, so we felt this way)
It is a place with stories (personages such as Heshen and Prince Gong have lived here successively. The palace has detailed records of their deeds, and you can also gain a lot of historical knowledge while visiting the palace)
The small pavilions inside are not to be missed. Different pavilions have different themes, which adds a modern atmosphere to the palace.
The interior decoration is also very beautiful~
Among the various art exhibitions, I love the "Horse Language" sculpture the most, which is a feast for the eyes~
In addition to the "Horse Language" sculpture, there are also various calligraphy and paintings, which are also worth lingering for me as a calligraphy enthusiast.
We walked around the Prince Gong Mansion and stopped here and there until it closed. It is no exaggeration to say that our legs were almost exhausted when we came out of the Prince Gong Mansion.

This was originally the residence of Heshen, and was the largest palace in the Qing Dynasty. Prince Gong's Palace has experienced the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from its heyday to its decline, and carries extremely rich historical and cultural information, so there is a saying that "one Prince Gong's Palace is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty". The palace is solemn and majestic, simple and elegant, with bright corridors and ridges, and is second only to the palace where the emperor lived. The Cuijin Garden behind the palace is surrounded by water and mountains, with towering ancient trees, winding corridors and pavilions, and is rich and natural; the scenery there is ever-changing and well-organized, and it is indeed a model of Chinese garden architecture.

If the Forbidden City represents the royal nobility of elegance and magnificence, Prince Gong's Mansion represents the blessing of the royal mansion with five fortunes. Prince Gong's Mansion was the residence of Heshen, a corrupt official in the Qing Dynasty. It is said that the income found when Heshen's house was confiscated was the total fiscal revenue of the court in 15 years during the Jiaqing period. Although the Qing Dynasty had begun to decline at that time, a lean camel is bigger than a horse. The Qing Dynasty was still the leading existence in the East at that time. Prince Gong's Mansion clearly records the history of the Qing Dynasty from prosperity to decline, and it is still quite rich to watch.

The geographical location of Prince Gong's Mansion is very advantageous, being right next to Shichahai Lake, it is an absolute Feng Shui treasure land. No wonder Heshen was able to plunder the people's wealth for so many years as an official without any harm, and was not brought to justice until the death of Emperor Qianlong and the rise of Emperor Jiaqing. This must have a lot to do with the blessing of this excellent Feng Shui location.

As for why this mansion is called Prince Gong's Mansion instead of Prince He's Mansion, the reason is very simple: this mansion is also the residence of the third-generation owner, Prince Gong Yixin, who holds important positions such as Prince of Political Affairs and Minister of Military Affairs, and has great power in the court. Yixin is a genuine Qing Dynasty prince, so it is most appropriate for his mansion to be called Prince Gong's Mansion.

We arrived at Prince Gong's Mansion in the afternoon. The queue was already very long. The ticket was 40 RMB, which felt a bit expensive (the Forbidden City was only 60 RMB). It would take most of the day to explore it in detail.

Prince Gong's Mansion is the most well-preserved palace complex in my country, with more than 30 buildings of various styles, exquisite layout and extraordinary style. It was originally the residence of Heshen, and experienced the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from its heyday to its decline, so there is a saying that "one Prince Gong's Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty". The whole is divided into two parts: the mansion and the garden. The Western Gate, the Grand Theater and the Back Building are the "three wonders" in Prince Gong's Mansion, which must not be missed. The Secret Cloud Cave is also worth a visit, where the "Fu" stone tablet written by Emperor Kangxi that Heshen stole from the palace is placed.
Although I came at a bad season and could not see the beautiful scenery of the flowers in the palace, the scale of the palace was shocking! As the residence of Heshen, who was second only to the emperor, how many stories did it carry!
We didn't buy the tickets online, most of the tickets sold online are package tickets, including tour guides. We stored our luggage, and the crowd brought us into a tour group, so we followed the tour guide and listened to a series of interesting explanations.

You must visit Prince Gong's Mansion when you come to Beijing! The residence of the corrupt official Heshen, located next to Shichahai, is considered a Feng Shui treasure land. Although it is not as big as the Forbidden City, it is exquisitely decorated and even better than the Forbidden City. A large hall is made entirely of golden nanmu wood, and under the rocks is the word "Fu" written by Emperor Kangxi for his mother. Today's Prince Gong's Mansion is much smaller than before, and the former Prince Gong's Mansion was much larger! Guo Moruo's former residence was just the stable of the former Prince Gong's Mansion!

I have always been interested in Heshen. It is said that he was the most handsome man in the Qing Dynasty. It is said that he was cunning, intelligent and rich enough to rival a country. It is said that his descendants were blessed with long-lasting blessings. What was he like? What legendary story did he have? This time I finally had the opportunity to learn about it. I don't like to visit a scenic spot dryly, just to see the scenery. I like "depth", so I booked Prince Gong's Mansion + commentary online.
This was the most worthwhile 66 yuan I have ever spent. I thought it was a 1 vs 100 large commentary team, but I didn't expect it to be VIP treatment, 1 vs 4, and the whole trip at Prince Gong's Mansion lasted more than 3 hours.
It is said that Heshen looked very similar to Qianlong's deceased love, and was deeply favored by Qianlong.
There are three unique features of Prince Gong's Mansion, namely the Western Gate, the Grand Theater and the Back Building.
The Chuihua Gate, Tingyu Pavilion, Xiangxuewu, Bamboo Courtyard, Peony Garden, and the path leading to the grand stage are all beautiful.

I have been listening to the guide's explanation since I entered Prince Gong's Mansion. Otherwise, I would not know anything except that it is a big garden. After listening to the guide's explanation, I finally understood a lot. Personally, I think Prince Gong's Mansion is still very good. Some people say it is boring, but you have to see how to see it. You can't use the eyes of modern people to measure the past. After all, if people in ancient times could live in a place of this level, what kind of people must they be?

Prince Gong's Mansion is more popular than the Forbidden City. Every detail is exquisite, with huge rockery and secret caves, incomparable Taihu stones, a combination of Chinese and Western water features, beautiful gardens, a springboard with boats as bridges, and the Fu Hall...

Prince Gong's Mansion is located on Liuyin Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. It is the largest palace complex in the Qing Dynasty. It was once the residence of Heshen, a powerful minister during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and Aixinjueluo Yonglin, the emperor during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. In the first year of the Xianfeng period (1851), the Qing court granted this residence to Prince Gong Aixinjueluo Yixin, and the name of Prince Gong's Mansion was derived from this. The architecture, gardens, and history are all worth visiting!

On June 30, 2019, it was sunny. We took the morning off to go to the Prince Gong Mansion. "One Prince Gong Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty." As the largest palace in the Qing Dynasty, Prince Gong Mansion has experienced the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from its heyday to its decline. Although Prince Gong Mansion was named after Prince Gong Yizhen, it became famous because it was once the residence of Heshen. However, when we arrived at Prince Gong Mansion, we were immediately scared away by the popularity. We really didn't want to go in on a hot day and save the 40 yuan ticket per person.

The similarity between Heshen and Yi Xin is that they both once held great power.
The difference is that the former eventually failed while the latter experienced ups and downs.
In the same mansion, let me take a look at what it means: "The Prince Gong Mansion represents half of the history of the Qing Dynasty"?

The Prince Gong Mansion represents half of the history of the Qing Dynasty.
This was once the residence of Heshen. After several dynasties, Prince Gong Yixin became the owner of the house, and the name Prince Gong's Mansion came from this. Prince Gong's Mansion has experienced the historical process of the Qing Dynasty from its heyday to its decline, and carries extremely rich historical and cultural information, so there is a saying that "One Prince Gong's Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty."
The Forbidden City feels more like the ruins of an empire. We admire the majesty and grandeur of the Forbidden City, but also lament the decline of the dynasty. The historical relics are old and mottled, without any vitality. However, the Prince Gong Mansion feels unexpectedly lively and beautiful, retaining the atmosphere of worldly life, and is full of vitality, with clear springs in the Lakeside Pavilion and lush greenery in the Tingyu Pavilion.

It takes more than ten minutes to get to the subway entrance, and there are no signs, so you have to rely on navigation. The alleys are not special, just vendors and small restaurants. When you get to the door, there are crowds of people. Although there are several security guards to maintain order, it is still crowded and disorderly. The sun is scorching, and the crowds are pushing and shoving. The people behind are almost collapsed and fell down. After a lot of effort to enter, what you actually see are some restored new "ancient" buildings. This is actually the best-preserved and largest palace. A large number of group tourists pass through the narrow aisles in groups, and the imperial garden is crowded. There is no special features, and the scenery is not as good as Suzhou's Humble Administrator's Garden! Disappointed.

The garden is quiet and elegant, lacking the majesty of the royal family and more charming than the garden. The "Fu" stele in Prince Gong's Mansion is a treasure written by Emperor Kangxi. It is hidden in the Miyun Cave in the rockery on the lake, which is called "the blessed land of the cave". You need to queue up to enter the cave, touch the imperial treasure "Fu" with your right hand, put it in your pocket, and take good fortune home.

A place that created my longest single walking time and longest walking distance: 3 hours and 8.06 kilometers. The third day of the Chinese New Year? The fourth day? It took me more than an hour to queue up to buy tickets, another half an hour to rent the audio guide, and more than an hour to enter the rockery to see the big "Fu" character of Emperor Qianlong. It only took me a few dozen minutes to actually walk around the garden and take pictures.

Prince Gong's Mansion (Tickets 40/adult, Guide 30/station): It was originally the residence of Heshen, a famous corrupt official in the Qianlong Dynasty. Later, Qianlong's favorite Princess Hexiao married Heshen's son Fengshen Yinde and lived here. After Qianlong's death, Jiaqing succeeded to the throne. The first thing he did was to deal with Heshen, a corrupt official. The mansion was left to the princess and the prince consort to live in. Jiaqing's brother Yonglin was also granted to live here. During the Xianfeng period, Prince Gong Yixin became the third owner of this mansion, and the "Prince Gong's Mansion" got its name. This Prince Gong was a great politician in the late Qing Dynasty. He was a famous king and important official in the Xianfeng, Tongzhi and Guangxu dynasties, the leader of the Westernization Movement, and contributed to the founding of modern Chinese industry and the progress of Chinese education. In the Second Opium War, Yixin was appointed as the plenipotentiary imperial commissioner, responsible for negotiations with Britain, France and Russia, and signed the "Treaty of Beijing". In the 11th year of Emperor Xianfeng's reign (1861), Emperor Xianfeng passed away. Yi Xin and the two Empress Dowagers jointly launched the Xinyou Coup, successfully seized power, and was granted the title of Prince of State. There is a saying in the streets that "One Prince Gong Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty", which can be said to be well-deserved. Prince Gong Mansion witnessed the bitter process of the Qing Dynasty from prosperity to decline.
Every architectural ingenuity in Prince Gong's Mansion is amazing. The rear building, the theater and the Western Gate are collectively known as the "Three Wonders".

Prince Gong's Mansion, located on Liuyin Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, is a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national first-class museum, and a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. It is the largest palace in the Qing Dynasty and was once the residence of Heshen and Yonglin. The Prince Gong Mansion is huge in scale, covering an area of about 60,000 square meters, and is divided into two parts: the mansion and the garden.
It is said that there are a total of 10,000 bats of various shapes throughout the various buildings of Prince Gong’s Mansion. The “bat” in “bat” is homophonic with the “fu” in “blessing”, so some people call it the “land of ten thousand blessings”.

First of all, let’s talk about the geographical location. It takes more than ten minutes to walk through the alley after getting off the subway. The road is not wide and there are two-way traffic, so it’s a bit messy.
Buy tickets after entering the gate. You can use Alipay or WeChat. It costs 40 yuan per person. The tour guide costs 30 yuan to rent, and a deposit of 100 yuan is required. Attention!!! You can only use it for two hours. If it is less than two hours, you will be notified by phone. Two hours is not enough to see all the exhibitions in the scenic spot, and the explanation content is also about a lot of legends. If you don't mind renting, if there are many people, hire a tour guide. Or take a quick look.
Finally, walk right out of the door and you will reach Huguosi Street. There are snacks along the way that you can try, including Mei Lanfang's former residence and the old building of Beijing Normal University. After walking through Huguosi Street, you will reach Ping'anli subway station, which is very convenient for transportation.
Generally speaking, Prince Gong’s Mansion alone is not recommended.

There are many visitors. It is best not to go on weekends. It is also best to hire a tour guide. It is meaningless to just watch.

Attractions that do not require reservations
But there must be an explanation
Otherwise, I don’t know what I’m seeing.
Isn't it more interesting to combine it with a story?

Prince Gong's Mansion~ Following a group, there are too many people~~……

I spent almost two and a half hours walking around. It was quite unique and memorable. It would be better if there were more signs in the park or instructions for the tour route. The official account has audio explanations so you don't need to rent an audio guide.

Heshen's residence is the most luxurious prince's palace besides the Forbidden City. After the doctoral student re-examination, He Le Ge stole half a day to relax and went to Prince Gong's Mansion.

Prince Gong's Mansion is the residence of emperors and generals. It is located in the north, is well-proportioned and very grand. Although it has a back garden, it has a strong sense of artificial construction.
It feels like Hua Zheng. Hu Xueyan was a wealthy businessman who was located in Jiangnan, where there were beautiful scenery everywhere, no matter where the rockery pavilions and towers were.
They all have the grace and elegance of Jiangnan, and she feels just like Huang Rong.

The Prince Gong Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty! Last August, under the scorching sun, I queued up to buy a half-price ticket. It was not easy to visit the Prince Gong Mansion! It is like a small garden with fountains, flowers, grass and lotus. It is really worth visiting. It is good and you can learn a lot about the history of the Qing Dynasty!

I've only been here once after the renovation. The tour route is not well designed. It's a big garden and if you walk around casually, you can easily miss the Grand Theater. The Prince Gong Mansion is supposed to have very high regulations, but I always felt it was a bit mediocre after visiting it.

Prince Gong's Mansion is a must-see attraction for both travel agencies and individual tourists, and it is also crowded. Here we tell the ins and outs of this Feng Shui treasure land. It is said that Prince Gong's Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty. Those who are interested can savor it carefully.

Prince Gong's Mansion is also a royal place. You can go there and see the life of the old aristocracy.

It was originally the residence of Heshen in the Qing Dynasty. It is located next to Shichahai and is considered a Feng Shui treasure land.

It is said that when you come to Beijing, you must visit Prince Gong's Mansion to get some good fortune. The "best fortune in the world" of Prince Gong's Mansion is the purpose of our trip.
The word "Fu" can be seen everywhere, and bats are carved everywhere on doors, windows, and eaves, both visible and hidden.

I like this Beijing courtyard house very much. It was Heshen's former residence. It's so beautiful.

There is a notice on the wall next to the ticket office that you can scan to buy tickets. A QR code is provided at the entrance. There were so many people that I only bought the ticket. I didn't see any tickets for the 70 yuan series tour. There were so many people that the park was full of people. I couldn't follow the route provided by the online guide, so I just walked around randomly. I walked to the back garden, where there is a place to pray.

Prince Gong's Mansion reflects half of the history of the Qing Dynasty. The mansion is grand and can be called a miracle. It is worth savoring.

By Kabuki Nuonuo |

Prince Gong's Mansion is the largest palace in the Qing Dynasty. It was the residence of Heshen and Yonglin. In 1851, Prince Gong Yixin became the owner of the mansion, and the name of Prince Gong's Mansion came from this. Prince Gong's Mansion is a structure of a front mansion and a back yard, divided into two parts: the mansion and the garden. The front half is the mansion, which has now been transformed into an exhibition hall to display some cultural relics and introduce the palace culture of the Qing Dynasty. Compared with the mansion, the garden in the back is more exciting.

By China-TravelNote user|

I didn't take many photos of Prince Gong's Mansion, but I heard it is a Feng Shui treasure land. I was fascinated by the history of the tour guide. I felt that it was worth the trip. Although the buildings are similar to those in the Forbidden City, Heshen still has a lot of stories. It is good to learn about it. My original weight was 140 pounds. I lost weight.

I never thought that the Prince Gong Mansion was so grand. As I walked in, I wondered why I hadn't reached the end yet. As a prince's mansion, all the tiles on the roof were green glazed tiles, which was different from the yellow glazed tiles of the Forbidden City. I have seen private residences of wealthy businessmen and celebrities, but after seeing Prince Gong's Mansion, I realized that the residences of royal relatives are indeed incomparable to ordinary people.

Prince Gong's Mansion was originally the residence of Heshen, the most corrupt official in the world. My first impression of Prince Gong's Mansion is that it is quite large. There are three unique things in Prince Gong's Mansion.
The three wonders of Prince Gong's Mansion are the Blessing Stele, the Western Gate and the Grand Theater.

By Heart in the Sea of Stars |

Speaking of Prince Gong's Mansion, it is the residence of Heshen, a great man in the Qing Dynasty. How could that man not be grand? It is also a famous garden in Beijing. Its style is somewhat different from the gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, but it is also a very famous northern garden. After Heshen stepped down, it was transferred to several families. There are many blessings in it. You can get some blessings when you come here. The location is also very good, right by the Shichahai Sea. After visiting here, you can go to the old Beijing Hutong or Beihai Park.

The residences of Heshen and Prince Gong are different from the majestic and profound Forbidden City. The Prince's Mansion is more exquisite and elegant.

Tickets to Prince Gong's Mansion are a little expensive, 40 for adults and 20 for students, and the opening hours are 8:00-17:00. Prince Gong's Mansion was originally the residence of Heshen in the Qing Dynasty, and was later given to Prince Gong. It is the best-preserved prince's mansion.
There is a very unique courtyard in the palace. A room in Prince Gong's Mansion is restored to its old appearance and can be compared with the Forbidden City.
The back garden of Prince Gong's Mansion is worth a visit. It has mountains and water and is larger than the Imperial Garden of the Forbidden City.

By Yongxuan|

I went to Prince Gong's Mansion in the afternoon. There were a lot of people and I had to wait in line for about 20 minutes. I heard that Prince Gong's Mansion is a blessed place. If you like Feng Shui, you can come here to explore. So many people come here, and so many celebrities live nearby. I guess everyone comes here to feel the blessing. The first painting in the world is very story-telling. If you like the sense of ritual, you can buy a blessing character and hang it at home. It is both artistic and brings blessings to people.

By 瞳色镜影|

There are residential houses in front of the palace and gardens in the back. It is large in scale, integrating the northern architectural style with the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens. It has open corridors, shady trees, rockery pavilions, and is full of classical royal charm.
Prince Gong's Mansion still retains its most glorious appearance. As you walk through it, will you be amazed by its vicissitudes and changes over the past century?
Here, what you visit is not only a scenic spot, but also a kind of life.
You can get a comprehensive understanding of Heshen. He has superior IQ and EQ, is a master of strategy, and is very capable in all kinds of ways. In fact, he is not the model portrayed by Mr. Wang Gang, he is a handsome man.

Cross the Yanlou and enter the back garden. Step into the garden, and you will see a different scene with every step, including glazed golden tiles, carved beams and painted buildings, Suzhou and Hangzhou beautiful water, exquisite stones, and Buddhist temples with Buddhist scriptures.

Prince Gong's Mansion is famous as the residence of Heshen, the most corrupt official in the Qing Dynasty. However, during the reign of Empress Dowager Cixi, it was the residence of Prince Gong Yizhen. Reading about Prince Gong Yizhen's life experience in the exhibition hall, I was deeply moved! Prince Gong Yizhen was once evaluated in history as "If there was no Prince Gong Yizhen, the second half of the history of the Qing Dynasty would have been rewritten"! After visiting Prince Gong's Mansion, I was filled with emotion. It is really "One Prince Gong Mansion, half of the history of the Qing Dynasty"!

By On the Road |

Prince Gong's Mansion was the residence of Heshen, a high-ranking official in the Qing Dynasty. It is like a small Forbidden City. The most impressive thing is the No. 1 "Fu" in the world hidden in the back garden, which is said to be inscribed by Emperor Qianlong himself.

By Bieyuan Xiaozhu|

There are exhibitions going on in many buildings in Prince Gong's Mansion, and some buildings have simply been turned into shops selling souvenirs. The commercial atmosphere is too strong, and if you don't listen to the explanations, you won't be able to see anything.
There is a stele with the word "Fu" in it in Prince Gong's Mansion - the greatest blessing in the world, hidden in the Miyun Cave in the rockery of the garden.
The "Fu" character is managed by a dedicated person and taking photos is not allowed. Visitors can touch it through the glass and bring good fortune home!

It turns out that you have to go to the scenic spots in the morning. It was already past one o'clock when we arrived at Prince Gong's Mansion. There were a lot of people. After buying the tickets and entering the gate, we happened to meet a tour guide. His explanation was very vivid and interesting. We followed the tour guide all the way to see the main attractions. I was almost fooled into buying the "Fu" pendant of Prince Gong's Mansion. Fortunately, I asked a friend and was told to be cautious when shopping in scenic spots... Because there were so many people, we just took a quick look and left.

It was originally the residence of Heshen, and it is quite crowded with many tourists.

We entered Prince Gong's Mansion around noon, and came out when it was almost closing time.
There were so many tour groups. We sat at the highest point in the palace and watched the lakeside of Heshen's back garden filled with people.
The Prince's Mansion feels relatively small and exquisite, a smaller version of the Forbidden City + Summer Palace
It feels more lively than the Forbidden City.
There are many rockeries in Prince Gong's Mansion, which are particularly artistic.
No wonder in ancient melodramatic novels, some unspeakable things would happen in the rockery.
There are really many rockeries that you have to go inside to see what is behind them.

Prince Gong's Mansion: Adult ticket price is 40 yuan, and seniors over 60 years old are half price.
Prince Gong's Mansion is located in the scenic southwest corner of Shichahai in Beijing. It is about 330 meters long from north to south, 180 meters wide from east to west, and covers an area of about 61,120 square meters. It is the best preserved of the existing princely palaces.

It must be said that Heshen was a man who understood the fun of life. After all, the wealth he amassed was worth about 800 million to 1.1 billion taels of silver. The gold and silver he owned, plus other antiques and treasures, exceeded the total fiscal revenue of the Qing government in 15 years. The back garden is particularly beautiful, and the entire mansion is indeed very luxurious.

I came to Prince Gong's Mansion in late August. There were a lot of people and various tour groups. It was quite good to avoid the crowds in the park. I bought a paper ticket on site for 40 yuan, and downloaded the electronic explanation mobile app. However, I had to spend 10 yuan to buy the electronic copyright to listen to the explanation. It was really convenient. I personally feel that it is more reliable than the tour guide in the park. The tour guide in the park just wants you to buy the blessing character... The app also has a tourist route. After visiting according to route 2, I arrived at every attraction. I had a lot of fun. The trip took about 2 to 3 hours.

Who is Prince Gong? Few people can say it out loud, but when it comes to Prince Gong's Mansion, most people will reflexively say "Heshen's Mansion".
It can be seen that the historical figures who can leave a deep impression on people must be associated with wealth and beauty. For example: Wu Sangui.
No matter how much wealth you have accumulated, even if the whole building is made of gold, in the end it is just a wedding dress for others. So there is an old saying that "small wealth is your own, big wealth is the country's".

The Prince Gong Mansion is located on the connecting line of Houhai and Beihai in Beijing. It has very good feng shui. The ancients regarded water as wealth. Water can be seen everywhere in the Prince Gong Mansion. The water of the pavilion on the lakeside in the mansion is drawn from Yuquan Lake. It only flows in and never goes out, which is meant to make money.
The entire palace is magnificent, the garden is beautiful and elegant, the layout is ingenious, the space is rich, and the workmanship is exquisite. It is said to be the prototype of the Grand View Garden of Jia Mansion in Dream of Red Mansions.

Due to my negligence, I forgot to check when the Prince Gong Mansion was closed for rest. In fact, it was closed on that day. We found out when we got there that the time was adjusted because of the Spring Festival, and we became the lucky ones and could go in for a visit.
The predecessor of Prince Gong's Mansion was the residence of He Shen, the most corrupt official. It is only one level lower than the Forbidden City in terms of luxury. I think some of the designs of this mansion are better looking. He Shen's Mansion is very large and it takes a lot of time to visit it.

Three parts walking and seven parts listening. Listening to history is interesting. It is boring to take photos and take a quick look. But I think the rent is a bit expensive. There is a popular saying: A Prince Gong Mansion is half of the history of the Qing Dynasty. It is still very interesting to walk while listening.

This is the largest royal palace. It is where Heshen once lived and is well worth a visit.
There is a historical evolution exhibition inside. If you have some patience and read it quickly, you will learn about the history of Prince Gong's Mansion.

The biggest gain from visiting Prince Gong's Mansion is to have a comprehensive understanding of Heshen, the chief corrupt official in the minds of the public. In TV dramas, Heshen is often portrayed as a middle-aged obese, corrupt, cunning and treacherous person. The most classic role is Heshen in "Iron Teeth and Bronze Teeth Ji Xiaolan" played by Wang Gang. However, the real Heshen is indeed lacking in elegance and has an extraordinary temperament. Not only is he proficient in the four languages of Manchu, Han, Mongolian and Tibetan, but he is also a intensive reader of the Four Books and Five Classics. He is good at observing words and expressions in front of Emperor Qianlong, and has received great praise and affirmation in diplomacy. Now he is a successful person and a high-end talent. However, it is undeniable that his behavior of corruption and bribery has reached an outrageous level. His downfall and final outcome also stem from his unfortunate childhood. The long-term dependence on others has led to money in adulthood, which makes him feel more secure.

Because it is known as "One Prince Gong Mansion, half of the history of the Qing Dynasty", it is worth buying a ticket to visit. It has witnessed the entire process of the Qing Dynasty's decline from prosperity and China's fall into a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society.

When you go to Prince Gong's Mansion, you can either hire a tour guide or just listen. Although there is a bit of sales pitch at the end, it is very interesting!
