Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area

Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area is 20 kilometers north of Huairou City. It is a several-kilometer-long valley. At the bottom of the valley is the clear and rushing Yanqi River. The river water is formed by the confluence of mountain springs. It flows all year round and is the source of Yanqi Lake. On both sides are towering peaks with unique landscapes. It is basically a primitive natural scenery. The tourist road extends inward along the riverside. It is basically a flat road with little climbing.

There are people who cheat people in the scenic area. I went to Shentangyu during the Dragon Boat Festival. The ticket was 35 yuan per person in cash. There were many things for children to play with. The wooden house hotel was very beautiful. I drove up there. As a result, I was cheated by an old man who drank and sold firecrackers for 50 yuan. I still called the police. The police said that it would take an hour and a half to come up. Taxpayers pay taxes on this point. The police were dispatched for an hour and a half. The villagers went to the village and asked me to give 100 yuan. I said how much I paid for the broken firecrackers. The old man said no, the car was in the way. I said I would drive to the front and we would solve the problem. But they still wouldn't let me, so I stopped here. No one in the staff was in charge. A tricycle rider from the village came and asked me to drive away. It was in the way. Give the old man some money. I think I should pay for the broken things according to the price. That's not okay. He must compensate the old man for his losses. Speechless, and even recorded it. Everyone should be cautious when going there in the future. The key is that they are all wooden house villa hotels, selling firecrackers. Don't you consider safety? I won't post the old man's photo, lest I be accused of violating someone else's portrait rights.

Located in Yanqi Town, Huairou District, Beijing, 80 kilometers away from Beijing city, the valley here has a peculiar shape, the oak trees are bright red in autumn, and the scenery is very beautiful.

Shentangyu has nice scenery and the route is easy to find. The route to the scenic area starts with a cement road, and after reaching Longtan, it becomes a mountain path and a stone road. It takes about 3 kilometers one way to reach the end of the scenic area behind the thousand-meter beach. Go out from the iron gate at the end of the scenic area and walk along the path to the Liyuan Book House.

I just went there last weekend and was a bit disappointed overall. It's not far from the city, and the bus arrived in less than 2 hours. The main part of the scenic area is basically a road, walking along the valley, you don't have to walk very fast, it can be completed in less than 1 hour. Maybe the weather was bad on the day I went there, the mountain view felt very ordinary, and the scenery along the valley was also ordinary, with a few large pools of water, which were 🚣‍♀️. There is a stream in the valley, and there are several bridges made of thin tree sticks, which are simple and a bit wild. The rest is basically annoying and nothing to say.

The village at the foot of the mountain is full of farmhouses where you can stay and eat. I picked one at random that day, and I felt that the color was not very special.

I feel that there are no outstanding and attractive features here. The scenery is average, and there is no rural fun. It is suitable for people who want to go to the suburbs to walk around and relax.

The most impressive thing this time may be this group of big white geese😳

The environment is beautiful, with mountains and water, and the greenery is very good. It is a good place for home play and tourism. It has led to the rise of many farmhouses nearby. It is good and worth visiting.

Shentangyu has mountains and water, and the whole river valley is a scenic spot. I saw many people playing in the water and catching fish by the river. It is a good place to escape the summer heat. My little sister caught a dragonfly. The most interesting thing is that you can play real-person CS here. When a few of us young sisters and brothers heard about it, we hurried to try it for a while and felt it was pretty good. There are quite a few small shops along the way, which are very convenient for rest and eating.

In midsummer, we drove for 3 hours to the Shentangyu Scenic Area. It was very cool. This photo has a unique feeling. The scenic area is not very big, the slope is very gentle, there are mountains and water, and the cabins are stop-and-go. It is definitely a unique accommodation. Anyway, I like rainbow trout very much.

I went there with my schoolmates. It is very close to Yanqi Lake. There are barbecues, holiday cottages, and you can also row a boat (wrong)

On June 23, 2018, we set out for the Shentangyu plank road. After arriving, we found that it was a one-way road and we had to go back 7 kilometers to find the car. Because we had a 4-year-old child, the 14-kilometer round trip was too strenuous, so we decided to drive directly to the Shentangyu scenic area and take the plank road at a suitable place on the road. There were farmhouses on both sides of the winding mountain road along the way, and the plank road was not formed. There was a staff member charging 10 yuan/time at the entrance of the scenic area. After entering, you can walk along the left road to the parking lot of Shentangyu Hotel, which is closer to the scenic area.



The scenery of Shentang Valley is quite beautiful, with dangerous rocks, creeks, fishing, and rubber boating (up to 40 times/unlimited time). It is suitable for camping. About halfway through the journey, there is a place to eat and you can order food. Other people's food seemed good, but we did not eat and brought our own lunch.



The overall intensity of the scenic area is not high. You can walk and stop, catch a fish, sit on a swing, stop to eat something, and walk to Longtan, which is the end. Walking inside to Qianli Beach, there is only a small puddle, and the feeling is a "pit", so it is recommended to walk to Longtan and then walk back. Longtan Boulder is still very impressive as the end of this trip. The pool of water surrounded by the whole big stone can be felt by taking off shoes, or lying on the big stone to bask in the sun and feel the magic of nature.



PS: 1. Along the way, I saw that some plank roads were built on the side of the mountain, which looked very steep. I would still walk there next time if I had the chance. I could get off at the entrance of the plank road, and others could drive into the scenic area and meet up there.

2. Because the road leading into the scenic area is too narrow, there will be a traffic jam when two large buses meet at the turning point. It is recommended to leave early on the return trip.

3. It’s very hot in summer, so pay attention to sun protection and hydration.

Tickets are 35 yuan each, children under 1.2 meters are free, and seniors are half price. After entering the scenic area, there is a mountain stream on the left, so we went directly into the water and waded all the way up. The stream is really clear, with many small fish and shrimps. Be sure to bring a net and a small bucket in advance... The water is very clear and clean, and the children are very happy to have a fishing competition. Haha, I also had a lot of fun~ The streams are all under the shade of the trees, so you don’t have to worry about getting sunburned~~

The mountains in Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area are steep, lifelike and full of fun.

The entire route to Shentangyu is wooden, and the difficulty is not great. So I chose to wear a long skirt. We went with a tour group to save trouble, but it turned out that it was better to go by ourselves. It was completely possible. You can take a bus to Dongzhimen.

The mountains in Shentangyu can really be said to be beautiful and charming, with lush green vegetation and clear gurgling water. Walking along the wooden plank road, you can see children holding fishing nets and small buckets, happily fishing in the water, and dogs running wildly among the mountains and rivers but still unwilling to leave their owners.

Entering from the main gate of Shentangyu, more than 20 people, big and small, played and laughed all the way, played around, sat on the swings, looked at the cabins, fed the ducks, and soon arrived at the big pond. Most of them turned back here, and we continued to walk on the wild road. The fun lies here~ The apricot blossoms on the road are all over the mountains and blended with the spring snow. It is hard to tell whether it is snow or flowers~

Tangyu Natural Scenic Area, located in Huairou, 65 kilometers away from Beijing, is the first natural scenic area in Huairou to be opened to the public. It integrates mountains, rivers, strange peaks, strange rocks and the ancient Great Wall. It is a paradise with a quiet environment, no interference, no pollution, and a fairy mirror. It has beautiful scenery, fresh air, and the famous Yanqi River runs through the whole area. The water is pure and flowing continuously. The naturally formed Dragon Pond, Mandarin Duck Pond, Crocodile Pond, and Water City are wide and clear. Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area has steep peaks and strange rocks. The Bodhisattva Hat has a unique shape and towers into the clouds, which is fascinating; Eagle Beak Peak, Camel Ridge, Turtle Stone, Phoenix Terrace, Stone Group and other works of art are lifelike and interesting.

The East Tower and the West Tower are both iconic watchtowers in the Shentangyu section. The East Tower is separated from the third watchtower by a cliff, which makes it easy to defend but difficult to attack. The East Tower is built on the top of the Qiaomai Mountain. On the north side of the tower is the North Mountain Peak, which is the top of a huge rock. Pine trees and jujube trees grow tenaciously in the cracks of the rocks. Looking far away, this mountain peak is an exquisite and beautiful stone peak painting set against the backdrop of mountains and ridges. Standing in front of the watchtower and looking closely, it is a huge and beautiful stone bonsai on the Qiaomai Mountain. From this beautiful stone peak, the Great Wall changes its north-south direction and turns eastward.

Shentangyu, as the name implies, means water between mountains. So, you have to drive around the mountains first! There were still two traffic jams on the Beijing-Chengde Expressway on the morning of the 4th. One of them was due to an accident, but the four or five kilometers of congestion on the Suanzaoling Bridge was puzzling. It was inexplicably jammed, and then inexplicably unblocked?! The wooden plank road is very long, more than six kilometers in total, and it is free. There are various terrains on the wooden plank road outside the scenic area. There are mountains, waterside, and it will pass through the village.

Tickets for Shentang Valley are 35 for adults, 17 for students at half price, and free for children under 130. As soon as I entered the scenic area, the mountain in the distance attracted me. I thought this was the famous Camel Peak, and it turned out to be true. Shentang Valley is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with towering peaks and lush greenery. Compared with the desolate peaks in the northwest, it is full of vitality. Go along the path, and there is a gurgling stream on the left side of the road. The water is clear and cool. It is the best place to play in the water! ❤Before going, it is best to prepare a fishing net, a bucket, a water gun, a fishing rod, etc. You will have more fun!

Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area integrates mountains, rivers, strange peaks, strange rocks and the ancient Great Wall. It is a place with a quiet environment, beautiful scenery, fresh air, pure water and continuous water. The total length of a plank road in the scenic area is 7,558 meters, which is the longest mountain and water plank road in North China. It was built at a huge cost for the APEC meeting, but few people visit it now.

It is indeed beautiful, the scenic area is relatively complete, and the steps are well built.

Shentangyu is an AA-level scenic spot. Compared with the planning of the scenic spot, the ticket price of 35 yuan is a bit worthless. There are flat roads in the scenic spot without steps. The front section is a stone road and the back section is a gentle mountain road, so it is quite suitable to take the elderly and children for a walk. After walking for a while, you can play in the water, but there are too few shades. The weather is not very hot now, so it feels okay. If it is very hot, there will be no scenic spots like Shilinxia and Heilongtan. There are more than 7 kilometers of plank roads in Shentangyu. You can play for a while in each section of the road and enter from different entrances. We walked from the starting point of the plank road. There are more steps, which makes it more difficult to walk. The number of steps is different in different sections. It is worth visiting. Friends with good physical strength can walk all day long.

There is no need to climb mountains, it is all flat land, suitable for taking the elderly and children. The trail goes upstream along the stream. Many people stop at Longtan, but there is actually another half of the trail inside. Since they are all mountain trails, wooden rafts are used as bridges, which are more wild in the mountains. Passing through a small beach known as a thousand-meter beach, the farthest you can go is "a mountain" (a large stone stands in a small piece of green water). Going further out, you will be out of the scenic area, and the iron fence blocks the way. It is said that there will be a college 1-2 miles away. Tourists who want to go can ask the staff guarding the iron fence to open the small door to visit.

The entire plank road is more than 7,000 meters long. There were 12 of us in the group, and only I and another mother were left to keep going. But the kids and dad were fishing for fish and shrimps by the stream on the way, playing on the swings and seesaws, and they were actually happy. Why do we have to pursue a goal when we come out to relax?

Starting from Miyun Never-Sleeping Valley, there is the Shentangyu Trail, which goes along the stream all the way. The wooden trail is very comfortable to walk on. Surrounded by springs and mountains and accompanied by green water, it is both leisurely and pleasant to come here in summer. You pass by many villages along the way, which is convenient for accommodation and meals. There are some mountain roads along the way, which are not hard. You can use your mobile phone for lighting through two dark caves, which is also an experience. There are all kinds of flowers along the way, playing in the water and having fun, and you can also see a section of the Great Wall. There are signboards all along the way, and mountain roads, streams, and plank roads overlap, connecting 24 scenic spots along the way. The one-way journey is about 8 kilometers. If you feel tired, you can take the bus back to the entrance of Never-Sleeping Valley after the one-way walk. The bus runs about every half an hour.

The plank road is nice. It is a good place to escape the heat and exercise in the summer.

Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area is 65 kilometers away from Beijing Dongzhimen, adjacent to Yanqi Lake in the south, Mutianyu Great Wall in the west, and Lianquan Xianggu and Laqian Mountain in the north. There are dozens of medicinal herbs in the area. Legend has it that a miracle doctor once opened a pharmacy here to cure diseases and relieve pain for the people, hence the name "Shentangyu". Shentangyu is a natural beauty.

Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area has steep peaks and strange rocks. The Bodhisattva hat has a unique shape and towers into the clouds, which is fascinating; the Eagle's Beak Peak, Camel Ridge, Turtle Stone, Phoenix Terrace, Stone Group and other works of art are lifelike and interesting. Historically, Shentangyu was a fortress in the capital. The ruins of the garrison castle built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty are well preserved. The ancient Great Wall, which has gone through vicissitudes, still retains its majesty, providing a good place for people to explore the ancient.

On September 19, the sky was clear and a few people were chatting in Shentang Valley. The breeze was fresh and the scenery was picturesque. Compared with the May Day holiday when the valley was crowded with people and the barbecue smoke was shrouded, it was like two different worlds. Sit by the lake in the mountain resort, how can you miss the delicious food and beautiful scenery!

The Shentangyu plank road is seven kilometers one way. We started walking at 10:20, excluding half an hour for lunch, and arrived at the end at 3:10. It took about five hours. We took the children to play and stop from time to time. We were strong enough to go back and forth.

We came to the Guandi Xiaozuo Resort near Shentangyu in mid-August. The mountain is surrounded by green trees and rugged rocks. This resort is hidden in the mountains. It is not big and has only 10 cabins. It is quite unique and has one bedroom and one living room, standard room and king-size bed room. You can have a barbecue, but if the dishes are not enough for 200 yuan, there is an 80 yuan venue service fee. It is more suitable for family to play. There are not many entertainment activities. You can go up the mountain to pick wild fruits, children can feed the small animals, and adults can sit on the balcony of the cabin, look at the green all around, make a cup of coffee, be in a daze, meditate... empty yourself

I took a break and drove to Shentang Valley in the afternoon. I personally feel that I can just go up or down along the plank road. The scenery is very good. It is worth recommending to eat a rainbow trout. It feels great.

Overall it's just so-so, I wouldn't recommend it

The unit organized a visit, the scenery is pretty good, the inside is not big, and it only takes half an hour to walk to the end. The geese inside are the highlight, you can bring some bread to feed the geese~~

We took the Beijing-Chengde Expressway to Huairou and came directly to Shentangyu. I have to say that the scenery at the end of October is particularly beautiful. The mountains are full of autumn colors, yellow, red and green. It is very pleasant to drive along the mountain road. Then you will encounter a plank road halfway up the mountain. You can park your car in an open space nearby and walk on the plank road. It is also very beautiful to enjoy the scenery below the mountain from above. At noon, we ate at the farmhouse at the foot of the mountain. The price was moderate and the dishes were also very good. You must eat rainbow trout when you come here. It tastes very delicious. After lunch, we drove up along the mountain road. There were many people selling mountain products on the road. Anyway, if you don’t want to live in the mountains, you can definitely have fun if you go in the morning and return in the afternoon.

The scenery is very nice and the water is very clear. Going further in, there are undeveloped areas with small stones between the water flows, and you have to step on the stones to get through. I didn't go in again last time because of limited time. In fact, this primitiveness is the most challenging and interesting. I must explore it again if I have the chance.
