Shuanglongxia Natural Scenic Area

I went there during the May Day holiday. Although there was not much traffic jam on the road to the scenic spot, the queue time was long. I waited for an hour on the train. I had to buy a ticket to the scenic spot. I could not walk into the park. There were also temporary vans to pick up tourists, which took more than 10 minutes. The car I took when I came back drove too fast and the road was not flat. It was so bumpy. The grass sliding at the door is very suitable for people who dare to take risks. The first half of the scenic spot to the first waterfall is relatively easy to walk, and the scenery is also good. It takes some physical strength to reach the second waterfall at the end. Friends who like adventure will not miss it, but pay attention to safety. There is no signal on the mobile phone in the second half. It is best to go with a companion or bring an intercom. There is also a good ice waterfall, but be careful to slip easily. The actual distance from the first waterfall to the ice waterfall is much longer than the 2 kilometers introduced by the scenic spot, at least 3 kilometers. The entire scenic spot is more than 5 kilometers. The scenic spot has not been overdeveloped and maintains the natural scenery. The ten-mile stream and the deep waterfall of Baitan are the most memorable.

Shuanglongxia Scenic Area is located in Mentougou. The ticket price is 30 yuan. There is grass skiing at the entrance of the scenic area. You can go into the scenic area on foot or take a small train. The running length of the small train is 1 kilometer one way and the round-trip ticket price is 20 yuan. The ticket office of the scenic area is 500 meters above sea level. The second waterfall at the end of the scenic area is 850 meters above sea level and is 5 kilometers away from the gate of the scenic area. The scenery along the way is very good, with lakes and valleys. After passing the first waterfall, you will walk in the valley. There are signs in the scenic area to remind you how far you have traveled, so that tourists can understand the distance they have traveled. Sometimes you walk on the wooden plank road, and sometimes you shuttle between the rocks. The scenery is great. Highly recommended!

When you are bored, you can go to relax, go hiking or something like that. At that time, I kept walking into the mountains and felt like I would never reach the end.

Located in Zhaitanghuo Village, Mentougou. Beijing had just had a strong wind and a cooling two days ago. I thought the red leaves would be very interesting, but I didn't expect that there were basically no large red leaves in Shuanglong Gorge at this time. Parking is unlimited for 10 yuan. The package has 30 tickets and 20 small trains, a total of 50. If you take a boat, each person will pay 10 more. The small train really adds color to the autumn. It takes 10 minutes one way. My husband said it looks like a small train in Taiwan. There are also waves of people taking the small train. There are too many people bringing dogs. Half of them are dogs when the small train comes off. Hahahaha. Get off the train and walk into the mountains. There are many people rowing. The water is relatively clear. The temperature is around 17. There are not as many people as imagined. Maybe the scenery is not so attractive. So for me who cares about seeing people or seeing the scenery, it is perfect.

The scenic area is lush with trees and rich in species. The highest peak, Laolongwo, is 1,646 meters above sea level. There are two large waterfalls over 29 meters and nearly 100 small waterfalls under a few meters. It was summer when we went there, and because of the lack of rain, the rivers and waterfalls did not seem so majestic, but the green mountains and valleys were impressive, especially the cool water that was refreshing to wash hands with.

It is very far from downtown Beijing, about 2 hours by car

There is no discount for tickets. You need to buy tickets for Cuandixia Village, Shuanglong Gorge, and the small train. It doesn't feel very meaningful. Not worth it

In autumn, when you go to Shuanglong Gorge, the sun is shining brightly, the mountains are full of autumn colors, and the water from the mountain stream accompanies you all the way. There is the first waterfall in western Beijing, where you can sit and listen to the sound of the Double Piano and the Little Sun Moon Lake. You need to be there in person and discover it with your heart to feel its true beauty.

I have only been to Shuanglong Gorge once, I think it was during the May 1st period in 2010.

The original plan was to go to Cuandixia, but because there were so many people, we went to Shuanglong Gorge nearby after a quick tour.

Although it was already May 1st and the temperature was nearly 30℃ under the bright sun, there was still ice in Shuanglong Gorge at noon, so you needed to wear a padded jacket in the shade.

Although flowers are blooming and grass is green outside the canyon, spring is just beginning to appear inside the valley. I can only say that we came too early, so the scenery is a bit average.

The walking paths in the scenic area are in very poor condition. Please be careful not to slip or sprain your ankle. It is recommended that you wear good quality hiking shoes.

There are also sightseeing buses in the scenic area, but they are in poor condition and lack maintenance.

Shuanglong Gorge is located in Mentougou District, Beijing. It takes about two hours to drive from the city. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way by driving there in late autumn. The parking lot at the entrance of the scenic spot is very large, 10 yuan per time, unlimited time. The scenic spot ticket is 60 yuan, including round-trip train and pedal boat. Reminder, if you book tickets online, you need to go to the reception hall to exchange tickets, don't queue up at the ticket window~ The whole scenic spot takes about four or five hours to visit, so you can plan your time.

What I like most about Shuanglong Gorge is the stream that accompanies you throughout the journey. The sound of the stream accompanies you along the way, and you feel peaceful and moist. The most amazing encounter is the birch forest. Under the birch trees, the yellow leaves are stained, like a beautiful oil painting.

Compared with other scenic spots, Shuanglong Gorge is really much worse. Because it is relatively close to the urban area, it is also known as "Little Jiuzhaigou". I heard that the Shuanglong Gorge scenic area is rich in water resources, with two large waterfalls over 29 meters and nearly a hundred small waterfalls below 10 meters.

Due to physical reasons, I didn't walk to the larger waterfall, so I just took pictures of the smaller waterfall, which should be called water flow, haha. The larger waterfall would have looked very beautiful with a long exposure.

It takes about 2 hours to walk through Shuanglong Gorge. From the introduction and the information I found online, it is worth a visit. There is a spiral staircase that is a must-go road. The builders are really smart. Another unique feature here is the forest train. It feels great to ride on it, just like going to Jiapigou, the "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy". This is not available in other scenic spots. You can listen to your favorite music along the way, and you might as well turn up the volume. It feels like your backyard.

To go to Shuanglongxia, first get out of Pingguoyuan subway station and take bus No. 892, not 929. 929 goes to Qianjuntai. 929 used to have a branch line, which was renamed 892. And please note that 892 has a direct bus that goes directly to Zhaitang. This is the fastest, but you have to go to the toilet in advance. There is a small sign in front of the bus that says direct bus. If there is no traffic jam, it will take about 2 and a half hours. After arriving at Zhaitang, there are black taxis everywhere. It costs 30 to take a black taxi to the gate of Shuanglongxia. It cost 30 for four of us, which is quite cost-effective. The scenery on the mountain is average. I feel that the scenic spots in Beijing are all the same. There is a small train that runs for one kilometer, recalling my childhood. , walked all the way to the end, it hasn't rained recently, the first and second waterfalls are almost dry, and the other scenery is just so-so. The main purpose is to have fun, just stroll around, when I came back to the parking lot, there were black taxis everywhere, and it took another 30 minutes to come back. I took a break here and told the black taxi to go to the terminal of Zhaitang 892, because the direct bus does not stop in the middle, and the direct bus will go fast. In addition, it is easy to get stuck in traffic in the mountainous area, so I have to leave early. It takes three hours to march up and down the mountain, otherwise I won't have enough time to come back. The bus leaves at 6 o'clock at the latest, and the small train leaves at 5:30 at the latest. The scenic area is a bit dark, so I have to take the train. They said the walking path collapsed, and no one knows what's going on inside once the gate is locked.

I heard about Shuanglongxia many years ago and knew that there were small trains there. They were the kind with rails, not the "fake trains" that were hung with a row of wheels as seen in many scenic spots.

It was around 10 o'clock in the morning when we arrived at the entrance of the scenic spot. There were already quite a few buses parked at the entrance. Most of them were probably one-day tours arranged by some outdoor organizations, and they were gathering at the entrance.

Shuanglongxia Scenic Area is 3A, and the ticket includes the train and the cruise ship, a total of 60 yuan; if you buy only the main ticket, it is 30 yuan.

I came to Shuanglong Gorge just to ride the train, so I definitely bought a package ticket, but I’m not interested in the tied-down duck boat ride.

The weather was very sunny that day, but the light was too strong, so the contrast of the photos was too great. As soon as I entered the scenic area, I took the corridor for the small train, but I took the wrong one. After passing this corridor, I naturally came to the platform of the small train station and waited for the train. There is only one small train in the scenic area, but it is very long and can take more than 100 tourists at a time. It runs every 10 minutes on average, which is quite convenient.

The train ride took about 10 minutes, and it was quite interesting to see the turns and sights along the way.

After getting off the train, you need to climb a dam, which has about a hundred steps. When you get to the dam, you will see a large "Yulong Lake" with tourists boating on the lake, which is the duck boat included in the ticket (the consumption time is half an hour).

After passing Yulong Lake, there is a short section of "hanging road", which is a plank road made of iron plates. In fact, if the iron plates are replaced with tempered glass, it will be a "glass plank road". Then you will gradually enter the canyon scenic area, which is full of mountain streams, streams, trails and other wild fun.

During the journey, you will come across suspension bridges of different sizes from time to time. The height of the suspension bridge is not very high, so there is no danger, but it swings violently, and there are mostly young people playing and having fun on it. However, the suspension bridge is not a must-go, so some tourists choose to go on other stone steps in order not to disturb the tourists taking pictures on it or worry about the shaking.

I saw a spiral staircase standing on the side of the mountain in the distance, so I turned left and ran straight there without hesitation.

This spiral looks far away, but it is actually only a few steps away. Before going up the stairs, take a look at the Sun Moon Lake next to it.

This Sun Moon Lake, I think this name must have some kind of association with the sun and the moon. But no matter how I observed, I could not see any trace of the sun and the moon, but I took a lot of photos of the flowing water in the mountain stream. The reason why I call it flowing water is because it can't really be called a "waterfall".

There is a rest area next to Sun Moon Lake, and a "large" convenience store is also set up here. The business of food, beverages and popsicles is very prosperous.

The spiral staircase is not very high, but I still feel a little dizzy when I turn it, especially when I walk fast. I soon reach the top of the spiral staircase, and then walk up the metal plank road on the side of the mountain, to the top of the thin waterfall, and then look down - I don't think it's that high or scary.

On September 26th at 6:45, we set out from Chongwenmen and headed to Mentougou Shuanglongxia Park. We did not take the highway but headed north along the Yongding River Cultural Square onto National Highway 109, and visited Yongding Tower by the way. The whole journey took 2 and a half hours.

The Shuanglong Gorge ticket is 30 yuan, the round-trip train ticket is 20 yuan, the Qingyou Lake boating ticket is 20 yuan, and parking is 5 yuan per time. It is best not to go boating. The lake is so small that it is not fun. It is better to climb more mountains! In addition, the Shuanglong Gorge ticket package is 60 yuan, including the ticket, train ticket, and boating ticket. It is recommended not to buy it.

After entering the gate of Shuanglong Gorge, there is a small train station. The railway track is built at the foot of the mountain. The whole journey is one kilometer. You don’t have to take the train. There is a walking path into the mountain below. The main attractions of the park are its first and second waterfalls. It takes about an hour and a half to travel between the first and second waterfalls. There are two ways to go. There is a spiral staircase on the left road. You can stand on the staircase to see the Sun Moon Lake below. There is also a pavilion with seven or eight tables next to the lake for tourists to stop and eat. There is nothing to see on the right path. There is a red liaison station for the Anti-Japanese Guerrillas, but it is very simple. Although there is little water in the first and second waterfalls, it is nice to stop on the plank road and look out, walk on the mountain road with peaks and ridges, take a small train, breathe the fresh air in the mountains, and feel the tranquility of the green mountains and clear waters.

Shuanglong Gorge is located in Mentougou. There are many beautiful scenic spots in Mentougou, but they are all mountain roads, which are inconvenient to go to. It is recommended to drive by yourself.

It is a very suitable place for a two-day trip. The special activities are grass skiing, small trains, and ice waterfalls in early spring.

On the morning of July 27, 2013, I got up at 4:30, packed up, took the earliest subway Line 8, transferred to Line 1 to Pingguoyuan, and took Bus 892 (I got on the bus around 7:50, and it was very crowded. If you plan to take this bus, be prepared to take photos! There will be a sign on the bus saying "to Zhaitang") and got off at the entrance of Huocun at around 10:10 (I had found a farmhouse in Huocun in advance, and when I got there I put my "equipment" in the farmhouse before going on.), there was a big stone sign "Shuanglong Gorge" across the road, and the scenic spot was about three or four kilometers along the road.

You can see the scenery below the mountain on the left side of the train, and there are cliffs on the right side.

The water here is very clear and the aquatic plants are clearly visible, which is really rare.

I went around Beijing and went to Shuanglong Gorge in Mentougou on the last day of the holiday. It was my first time to visit such a nearby attraction. The most distinctive feature is that there is a small train that takes tourists back and forth to the foot of the mountain. I like the quaint feeling and the beautiful scenery. I kept taking pictures with my mobile phone. I stopped pressing the shutter when my mobile phone ran out of power when I went down the mountain.

Tickets are 30 yuan for adults, 15 yuan for students, parking is 5 yuan, the train is 20 yuan, and the boat is 20 yuan. You can take a ride on the train, but the boat is not worth it!

It was a really cold day, but it was also because of this coldness that we were pleasantly surprised. It was really a surprise to see an icefall in Beijing!

The waterfall is really beautiful, and you can see it without walking too far. It's worth a visit!

What attracted me most about Shuanglong Gorge was the icefall (well, it really melted this time) and the small train in the scenic area.

The first thing I saw was the artificial waterfall... No way... It has changed like this after not being here for two years? I felt a little disappointed. Although the water was cool, I thought the shape was too tacky... I quickly climbed up the 99 steps and suddenly saw the Jade Dragon Lake. The water was calm, reflecting the lush greenery on both sides and a touch of clean blue and white.

The Shuanglongxia Scenic Area is relatively mature, the stone steps are well maintained, and there is not much rise, so it is purely for leisure.

The package I bought at Shuanglongxia seems to be around 60, including scenic spot tickets, small trains, and boating tickets.

If you want to see all the scenery in Shuanglong Gorge, it will take about 3 hours. Because you have to climb the mountain, those who are not physically fit may not be able to see the beautiful scenery inside. I climbed about 3/4 of the way. It was about 4 pm when I came out of Shuanglong Gorge and continued to Lingshan.

I don't remember how long we drove, but I remember that there were few cars along the way. Maybe we went late, and it didn't look like a trip during the National Day holiday. After arriving at Lingshan, there were not as many cars as we thought. We booked a farmhouse in advance and ordered a roasted rabbit for dinner. There were 5 people, 3 women and 2 men, and we finished the rabbit and 3 dishes!

Although it doesn't look very good, it's really delicious. 200 per piece.

Shuanglong Gorge is about a few kilometers from Pearl Lake. I went there because I heard there was a small train in the scenic area. I bought a combined ticket (including the small train and boating) after I arrived. It was May Day when I went there, but it was still very cold in the scenic area. It was amazing that many waterfalls and streams were still frozen. I guess it is definitely a good place to cool off in summer. Because it was almost 3 o'clock when I arrived at Shuanglong Gorge. So I didn't finish playing. I didn't see the ice waterfall in the innermost part. The scenery in the scenic area is still good, but the road is not easy to walk in some places.

There are many toilets and trash cans in the scenic spot, so you don't have to worry about having no place to throw your trash. The whole scenic spot is very clean because of this

Shuanglong Gorge is very beautiful in autumn, and some places have a bit of the flavor of Jiuzhaigou. The water is as clear as a mirror and the mountains are colorful.
