Former Residence of Mr. Tan Kah Kee

The former residence of Mr. Tan Kah Kee is located at Houweijiao, Jimei Town, now No. 149 Jiageng Road. It was built in 1918 and bombed by Japanese planes in 1938. It was later rebuilt.
The former residence is a representative building with southern Fujian characteristics. It is a two-story building with an area of ​​4,000 square meters. The walls are made of white stone and the roof is covered with green tiles.
A bronze statue of Mr. Tan Kah Kee stands in front of Guilai Hall. Behind the statue is a stone screen engraved with Chairman Mao Zedong's inscription: "The Banner of Overseas Chinese, the Glory of the Nation."
