Located in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou City, it was created 130 million years ago. It has been a tourist attraction since the Song Dynasty and is one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian Province.
There is a huge rock on the top of the mountain that is flat and looks like a drum. It is said that when wind and rain come, there is a rumbling sound, so it is named Gushan.
Yongquan Temple, a Buddhist resort in Fuzhou, is the most important scenic spot in Gushan. The thousand-year-old iron tree, chicken-wire wood altar and blood sutra in the temple are collectively known as the "three treasures" of the mountain.
There is no ticket required for climbing Gushan Mountain. There are several paths leading to the top of the mountain. You can also take the cable car up the mountain, which is very convenient.

Climbing Gushan Mountain on the first and fifteenth day of the first lunar month is a traditional custom for local people in Fuzhou. Some even go up the mountain to stay up on New Year's Eve. The government has even opened a 24-hour shuttle bus to and from the mountain. At this time, Fuzhou is in the early spring, and the plum blossoms on Guling Mountain are in full bloom. What is more exciting than the plum blossoms on Gushan Mountain is the sunset viewing platform.
The beauty is long, and the famous mountain is just a passing glance! The stone carvings on Gushan Mountain, dating from the Northern Song Dynasty to the present, spanning the Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Republic of China dynasties, have lasted for nearly a thousand years. The main content is to record events and express feelings, with seal, official, running, cursive, and regular scripts. Gushan Mountain is the most cultural mountain I have ever climbed, and the air is also superb.
Gushan Mountain was created 135 million years ago. There is a huge stone on the top of the mountain that is flat like a drum. It is said that whenever wind and rain come, there will be a rumbling sound, hence the name Gushan Mountain. Gushan Mountain is located in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou City, on the north bank of the Minjiang River. It has been a tourist attraction since the Song Dynasty and is one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian Province. With the ancient temple Yongquan Temple as the center, there are more than 20 scenic spots such as Huilong Pavilion and Lingyuan Cave in the east; there are dozens of caves and gullies in the west, among which the 18 scenic spots are particularly famous; there are more than 50 scenic spots such as Luohan Terrace and Xianglu Peak in the south; there are 45 scenic spots such as Dading Peak and Baiyun Cave in the north. These scenic spots are mainly formed by long-term erosion, weathering, collapse and accumulation of granite, with various shapes and forms, forming natural landscapes such as Pantao Forest, Liuhai Diaochan, Yusun Peak, Baxian Rock and Heshui Rock. In addition, there are many cliff carvings from past dynasties.
There are 180 cliff inscriptions on Gushan Mountain, and it is estimated that there are no less than 300 stone inscriptions on the whole mountain. Among them, the famous one is the word "Shou" carved on the stone wall under Heshui Rock. The diameter of the word is 4 meters, which was written by Zhu Xi, a famous calligrapher in the Southern Song Dynasty. Looking at the stone inscriptions on Gushan Mountain, from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and even the present, it has lasted for nearly a thousand years, with rich content, and all kinds of fonts such as seal, official, running and regular scripts. It can be called the forest of stele in Fuzhou, which has important reference value for the study of ancient Chinese calligraphy art.
Yongquan Temple is the most famous temple in Fujian and one of the key temples in China. The temple is built on the hillside of Gushan Mountain, 455 meters above sea level, covering an area of about 1.7 hectares. It is fronted by Xianglu Peak and backed by Baiyun Peak. It has a unique architectural pattern of "no temple visible when entering the mountain, no mountain visible when entering the temple". Yongquan Temple was first built in 783 and was originally named Huayan Temple. In 908, Wang Shenzhi, the King of Fujian, built a new temple "Guoshiguan". In 915, it was renamed Yongquan Zen Temple on Baiyun Peak of Gushan Mountain. During the Song Dynasty, Emperor Zhenzong of Song bestowed the name "Yongquan Zen Temple". In 1407, it was renamed Yongquan Temple. In the Ming Dynasty, the temple was destroyed by fire twice, and was successively repaired and expanded to form today's scale.
For lunch, you can consider the famous vegetarian meal at Yongquan Temple. Please note that the cliff carvings are right next to Yongquan Temple. If you go there by car, you can visit both places at the same time and save yourself the trouble of climbing the mountain.

Gushan Mountain is located in the eastern part of Jin'an District, Fuzhou City and on the northern bank of the Minjiang River. It is one of the most famous scenic spots in Fuzhou.
Go up the mountain to see the night view of Fuzhou. The temperature difference on the mountain is large, so it is recommended to bring thick clothes
Fuzhou has two mountains, Gushan and Qishan, which are equally matched! Gushan is considered a landmark attraction in Fuzhou. If you haven't climbed Gushan, your trip to Fuzhou would be in vain!
Super, super, super good, a place that completely exceeded expectations, and now it's free, I strongly recommend it
You must have good physical strength and be able to recognize the mountain path clearly, as the scenery is always on the road.
A free attraction in downtown Fuzhou, it includes temples and memorial halls for Fuzhou celebrities during the Republic of China period. It is sparsely populated, quiet and covered with green trees, making it particularly suitable for hiking.
We climbed and took photos along the way, and it took about two hours to reach the top of the mountain. The night view was so beautiful that it was worth the trip.
Almost the entire Fuzhou is in sight: Jiefang Bridge, Taijiang, Zhongzhou Island, etc.
Gushan is a place where you can challenge yourself, especially for people like us who haven't exercised for hundreds of years. When we climbed to more than 1,000 meters, we heard from people coming down the mountain that there was still more than half of the way to go. I almost gave up. The weather was hot, but I had faith in my heart that I could reach the summit.
The scenery along the way is beautiful, and cool breeze blows on your face, blowing away all your fatigue and sleepiness.
Although Gushan is a 4A scenic spot, there are usually very few tourists. Most of the people who climb it are local residents. Now the bus can't go directly to the bottom of the scenic spot. Instead, you have to go to the bus terminal first, and then walk about 800 meters to get there. There is a road under construction nearby so it is not easy to find. It is best to ask passers-by for directions in case you get the wrong place.
The scenery in the mountains is really super super beautiful, and the scenery comes with special effects.
Climb to the top of the mountain to experience what it means to have a bird's-eye view of the city.
There are three routes to climb Gushan Mountain. The one on the far left is the easiest one. We bravely chose the most difficult one. Haha, what a joke! We were obviously pretending to choose the most difficult one.
The next day after climbing Gushan Mountain, I was exhausted and my calves were numb. I would like to warn my friends who don’t exercise regularly not to climb mountains easily.
It was under construction, the road nearby was in disrepair, the gate was in a mess, and it took less than ten minutes to walk from the bus. Because I was in a hurry, I took a cable car 🚡 up for 50 yuan, which was a bit expensive. There were vendors and beggars up and down the mountain. I don't understand. I guess it's because it's free, but they shouldn't be managed!
Compared with Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou, the difference is a bit big. If you want to travel, forget it, it's not worth it!
Every city has an observation deck, and that person is you.
I took the bus to climb a mountain on a business trip over the weekend and it felt pretty good!
It was raining heavily. We walked down the mountain on a winding road for two hours. I almost doubted my life. However, Gushan Mountain was beautiful after the rain.
Gushan has three ways to go up the mountain: cable car, walking and driving. Except for the cable car, which is charged, the others are free! Gushan is not very high, but you can enjoy the panoramic view of Fuzhou very well. Unfortunately, it was foggy that day, so you can't see the panoramic view clearly. You can only vaguely see the winding Minjiang River!
We visited Fuzhou Gushan Mountain on March 27, 2018. We followed the traditional east route to visit the mountain, starting from the temple, passing the ancient mountain trail to the "Eighteen Scenic Spots of Bodhidharma", and then going forward to the "Yongquan Temple", and then passing the "Lingyuan Cave (Drinking Water Rock)" to the "Shuiyun Pavilion". There are excellent scenery and exquisite cliff carvings along the way.
If you just want to go up and down the mountain, it will probably take 2 to 3 hours to go back and forth, but if you want to appreciate the cliffs and the scenery along the way, you must set aside a day.
Gushan is very big, and a whole day is not too much. There are many cliff carvings here. This is the second and last place where I feel there are people when we come to Fuzhou. However, because the scenic area is very large, it does not have the formation of Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. However, those who are not physically fit should not challenge it, because the cable car is estimated to take at least 1.5 hours to queue. (I came during the Spring Festival)
It is a place that you must climb wherever you want. It is located to the east of Fuzhou city, and you can overlook Fuzhou city from east to west.
Gushan, located in the suburbs of Fuzhou, is a good place for leisure and sports.
The attraction that I will never come to again is mountain climbing. There is no scenery along the way. There are some stone inscriptions. I finally climbed to the observation deck but I couldn't see the whole view of Fuzhou. I could only see a small part because it was blocked by trees. I felt that it was not cost-effective to take the cable car. There was no scenery in the first place. I could only sit to the observation deck, which was equivalent to spending money to take the cable car. Now I want to talk about the 18 scenic spots. It is said that the scenic spot that cost more than one million to develop is also mountain climbing, and the road signs are blurred, and there is no clear guidance. There is no light in the scenic area. It feels like no one maintains it and it is abandoned. It is called the 18 scenic spots. Carving a word and digging a hole is also a scene. Look at the picture below, it is already 4 scenes. I am drunk! It costs 10 yuan for the ticket, which is not worth it!
There is no scenery, the trees are not distinctive, there are only weeds, trees, and newly paved stone roads.
It feels average, just normal mountain climbing, with many cliff carvings
A great place to go hiking in your free time on weekends!!!
I went alone. There was a cable car, but climbing the mountain was still very interesting. I went there late.
Gushan is a 4A-level national scenic spot, and is also the best choice for Fuzhou people to travel, relax, ride bicycles, and cool off during the summer. The tourist attractions on Gushan are basically free, with only the 18 scenic spots*10 yuan and Yongquan Temple*40 yuan tickets. Celebrity monuments and rugged rocks can be seen everywhere on Gushan. There are three ways to climb Gushan from the foothill temple: one is a winding mountain road on the east side of the temple; the second is an aerial cableway (cable car) built on the west side of the temple to reach the 18 scenic spots of Gushan; the third is an ancient stone road between the road and the cableway, with more than 2,145 steps. There is a pavilion every 500 meters or so for tourists to rest when climbing. The ancient road is in a zigzag shape, winding up, passing through seven pavilions and entering the mountain gate to Yongquan Temple.
I was very lucky to see Gushan Mountain in the mist. I suggest you don't save money on the cable car. 😂
Gushan is a famous scenic spot in Fuzhou. When we got off the train, we asked the taxi driver what fun places there were in Fuzhou. He could only name a few, such as Sanfang Qixiang and Gushan. There are several ways to the top of the mountain. We took the stone steps. There was a pavilion every 500 meters or so. There is a cable car to the top of the mountain. It costs 70 yuan to go up and down, and 50 yuan one way. There are many cliff inscriptions on Gushan. At first, I thought it should be the same as other places, some inspirational, some praise, and some pretentious. The mountain is still a bit high. People who don't exercise regularly will feel a little tired when walking up.
In fact, it is more suitable to watch the sunset from the stone on the top of the mountain.
If you are in a hurry, buy a double cable car. The scenery on the way up is average. If you leave time to visit the Eighteen Scenic Spots and Yongquan Temple, it will take several hours. But it is not amazing. The humanities on the mountain are better than the natural scenery. But I don't know much about those aspects, so I don't think it is very outstanding.
This spot is where you can overlook the appearance of Fuzhou city. It would be even better if it is a sunny day!
Gushan is a 4A scenic spot and one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian Province. You go up the mountain along the ancient trail: the stone steps ancient trail, which is 3.5 kilometers long and has more than 2,145 steps. There is a pavilion every 500 meters or so for tourists to rest during the climb. The ancient trail is in a zigzag shape, winding up, passing through seven pavilions and entering the mountain gate to reach Yongquan Temple.
My friend said that when you go to Fuzhou, you must go to Gushan Mountain. This is the in-depth tour of Fuzhou, and you can see the scenery of Fuzhou on the mountain, which is definitely worth the trip. So after going there, I really felt that the trip was worthwhile, not because of the real in-depth tour, but because I saw the other side of Gushan Mountain, which was cloudy and rainy. When I took the bus to Gushan Mountain, it started to rain lightly. Based on my experience of climbing mountains, it must be raining a lot on the top of the mountain next. Also, because my legs were still sore from climbing and wading in the past few days, I decided to buy a double cable car ticket, and see the scenery of Fuzhou and the feelings of Gushan Mountain on the cable car! A total of 70 yuan. The cable car time is quite long. It feels like climbing two mountains. The first mountain can still see the river, water, and high-rise buildings below. Once you enter the second mountain, it is like turning on the switch to the fairyland. The clouds and mountains are covered with fog, and everything is hazy. Suddenly, there is a feeling of "Silent Hill"...
It feels very ordinary, maybe it's because of the bad weather. I climbed up and felt that the scenery along the way was not good. I couldn't see far away. Only when I climbed to the top of the mountain could I see far away. It's free to open. The cable car is 50 one-way and 70 round trip. The cable car is not fully enclosed. If the weather is cold, you need to wear more clothes.
I went there when I was very young and had an unforgettable impression. I went there on the fifth day of the first lunar month in 2017 to commemorate it. I went there alone. I took the train to the South Station, transferred to the subway line 1 and went 8 stations to Shangsanlukou Station, and took bus No. 137 or No. 162 to Gushan Scenic Area. You can take the cable car up and down, but I was in a hurry and took a minivan up, which cost 10 yuan. First, I visited Yongquan Temple, which is the highlight of Gushan, and the ticket price is 40. Then I visited the 18 scenic spots of Gushan, which is free. In fact, there is nothing fun. I have to go somewhere in the first lunar month, so I wandered around.
There weren't many people today, so we could drive directly to the Yongquan Temple parking lot halfway up the mountain. We didn't go into the Yongquan Temple. To save energy, we walked down the mountain trail to Yaowangtai and then returned to the parking lot.
I have to say that among all the mountains I have climbed, Gushan is the best. It took me almost 3 hours to climb up and down the mountain. I can see some interesting scenery on other mountains, but I don’t have this feeling at all on Gushan. I just feel like I am climbing stone steps.

Gushan is one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian Province. It has been famous for more than a thousand years. Guo Pu, a minister of the Western Jin Dynasty, praised it in "Records of Moving the City" as "the left flag (mountain) and the right drum (mountain), the two best in Fujian". It is named Gushan because there is a huge stone like a drum on the top of the mountain. Whenever there is wind and rain, there is a shaking sound. There are three ways to climb Gushan from the foot of the mountain: one is a winding mountain road built in 1954 on the east side of the temple, about 8.5 miles away, directly to the parking lot in front of Yongquan Temple; the second is an aerial cableway (cable car) built on the west side of the temple to reach the 18 scenic spots of Gushan, which is more than 1,000 meters long; the third is a stone step ancient road between the road and the cableway, which is 3.5 kilometers long and has more than 2,145 steps. There is a pavilion every 500 meters or so for tourists to rest when climbing the mountain. The ancient road is in a zigzag shape, winding up, passing through seven pavilions and entering the mountain gate to reach Yongquan Temple. The Gushan scenic spot is centered on Yongquan Temple and is divided into four routes: east, west, south, and north, with more than 160 scenic spots.
When I went to Fuzhou a long time ago, I felt that Fuzhou was quite chaotic and not as good as Xiamen. In recent years, Fuzhou has changed very quickly and obviously, and it has the momentum of catching up. In addition, I have always had a special liking for Fuzhou's snacks, and I increasingly feel that this coastal city has been ranked among the most livable cities.
Gushan is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Gushan Scenic Area is centered on the ancient Yongquan Temple. There are more than 20 scenic spots in the east, such as Huilong Pavilion and Lingyuan Cave; dozens of caves and gullies in the west, among which the 18 scenic spots are particularly famous; more than 50 scenic spots in the south, such as Luohan Terrace and Xianglu Peak; and 45 scenic spots in the north, such as Dading Peak and Baiyun Cave.
Fortunately, I chose to take the cable car up, otherwise I don’t know how long it would take to climb. It took more than ten minutes to get up. The carriages had to rush up, otherwise they would not stop. They would make a sound, which was a bit scary. The scenery at high altitude is good, especially on the other side of the mountain! ! ! ! There are food at the half-mountain pavilion and the top of the mountain, so you don’t have to worry about being hungry, and the price is also reasonable~~
I climbed a high place to seek good luck during the New Year, but the scenery was actually quite ordinary.
If you drive there, the clouds and mist will make you feel like you are in a fairyland.
Fuzhou is a good place for leisure, with mountains, water, natural scenery and famous temples.
Beautiful,, beautiful,,, there is a cable car,, the best bus to the top of the mountain
There's nothing to see here, so don't come!
Gushan is a must-visit scenic spot in Fuzhou. The geographical location is relatively advantageous, not far from the city center. It takes about 1 hour by bus and about 40 minutes by taxi. Fortunately, there is a cable car to go up and down. It saves a lot of physical strength for friends who go on a day trip. (If you must climb up and down the mountain by yourself, you must go early in the morning, and it is estimated that it will be late to go down the mountain at night) We took the cable car up and down. If we really climbed... It would definitely be exhausting. The cable car ticket has increased in price, 70 yuan for a round-trip ticket/person. 50 yuan for a one-way ticket/person. I think it is a bit expensive, but fortunately you can see unique scenery on the cable car. The cable car can take you to the middle and upper part of Gushan. After getting off the cable car, you can climb up about 3 kilometers to reach Yongquan Temple. There is another road at the foot of the mountain that can be driven up, and it will directly reach Yongquan Temple. Friends who travel by car, this is a benefit! However, since you come to enjoy the beautiful scenery, climbing the mountain by yourself or taking the cable car is also a good choice! It is indeed a beautiful mountain.
It is open to the public for free and you can take the cable car up the mountain. On the mountain is Yongquan Temple, with a total of 18 scenic spots.
Choose between cable car and mountain climbing. Climb Gushan Mountain in the rain and enjoy plenty of negative ions.
It is a good place for Fuzhou people to climb mountains and cool off. From the top, you can see the whole view of Fuzhou city, famous temples and famous trees.
Fuzhou's famous attractions, scenery and cultural attractions are all good and worth a visit.
The scenery is good, overall it's ok
Gushan Mountain is located in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou City and the north bank of the Minjiang River, about 8 kilometers away from the city center. It is a famous mountain with a long history and culture in Fuzhou. According to legend, there is a huge stone on the top of the mountain, which is shaped like a drum. Whenever there is wind and rain, the stone makes a sound like a drum. Gushan Mountain got its name from this. Gushan Scenic Area is centered on the ancient temple Yongquan Temple. There are more than 20 scenic spots in the east, such as Huilong Pavilion and Lingyuan Cave; there are dozens of caves and gullies in the west, among which the 18 scenic spots are particularly famous; there are more than 50 scenic spots in the south, such as Luohan Terrace and Xianglu Peak; there are 45 scenic spots in the north, such as Dading Peak and Baiyun Cave.
Gushan Mountain is a national tourist attraction with many historical sites. You can see the unique pines and cypresses while walking, and feel like you are crossing steep rocks and ravines. On the top of the mountain, you can see the unique pines and cypresses, overlook the clear springs in the secluded streams, hear the birds singing and the sound of pine waves, feel the breeze blowing in your face, and occasionally encounter mountain fog, which feels like riding in the fog.
Surrounded by clouds and mist, the environment is quiet and worth a visit~
It's a must-go place when you go to Fuzhou. The environment is very good. The mountain is not high and it's not hard to climb. The Yongquan Temple on the top of the mountain is not recommended to go online, so I didn't go there after I climbed up. I looked at the door and it seemed that there was really no need to go in.
Gushan Mountain is located in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou City and the north bank of the Minjiang River, about 8 kilometers away from the city center. It is the most famous scenic spot in Fuzhou City. Because there is a huge stone like a drum on the top of the mountain, there is a sound of shaking when it is windy and rainy, so it is named Gushan Mountain. The height is about 870 meters. There are many scenic spots on the mountain, and the forests and valleys are beautiful and fascinating. It is also the fourth batch of national scenic spots. Gushan Scenic Area is centered on the ancient temple Yongquan Temple. There are more than 20 scenic spots such as Huilong Pavilion and Lingyuan Cave in the east; there are dozens of caves and valleys in the west, among which the 18 scenic spots are particularly famous; there are more than 50 scenic spots such as Luohan Terrace and Xianglu Peak in the south; there are 45 scenic spots such as Dading Peak and Baiyun Cave in the north. The scenic area is very large, with a Guling entrance in addition to the Xiayuan entrance.
Gushan Mountain is very famous in Fuzhou. There is no entrance fee. You can climb the mountain or take the cable car. I have read many travel notes saying that climbing the mountain is very tiring, so I chose the cable car, which costs 50 yuan for a one-way trip and 70 yuan for a round trip. I chose a round trip ticket. The end of the cable car is also the end of the trail. According to the road sign, the trail goes up the mountain for a total of 1,800 meters. There is an observation deck here, where you can overlook the panoramic view of Fuzhou City. There is also an Eighteen Scenery Park on top, which is charged. You can go and see it if you have time. Going further, you can walk to Yongquan Temple, a very large temple, which charges 40 yuan per person.
You don't need to buy tickets to climb Gushan Mountain. We took the cable car for 70 yuan up and down, and 50 yuan for a one-way trip. Children under 125 cm are free. The cable car staff provided good service. The panoramic view of Fuzhou is clearer when taking the cable car than on the mountain. It is recommended to take the cable car. The 18 Scenic Spots are strongly not recommended, especially for friends who climb the mountain. Because the signs on the ticket are very inconsistent with those on the mountain, the most important thing is that there is no scenery at all. The so-called scenic spot of a Buddhist cave is just a big stone with a small pit underneath. There is a little water in it. I saw someone washing his feet in it. Anyway, the 18 Scenic Spots are still climbing the mountain. The ticket for Yongquan Temple is 40 yuan, and the scenery is better than the 18 Scenic Spots. I always feel that it is very uncomfortable to have to pay for tickets for temples. Religion is also all about money.
I have a fear of heights, and I feel… I can’t describe it, and my legs are weak, but it’s not bad.
Gushan is one of the ten scenic spots in Fuzhou and a place often visited by people from Fuzhou.
If I have nothing to do, I will go climb Gushan Mountain.
There is no entrance fee, but there is a charge for the 18 scenic spots in the middle of the mountain and for the cable car.
If you are climbing Gushan Mountain for the first time, it will definitely take two to three hours. There are three routes, such as the Brave Path, but they all lead to the same destination. In fact, it is not difficult to hike.
Occasionally you will come across some small Buddha statues along the way.
There are many places to eat on the mountainside, and there are also some student performances, dancing and the like.
The cable car at Gushan is also a challenge, there is no glass or anything. It's really scary.
Personally, I think Gushan is just an ordinary mountain.
Gushan Mountain was built 135 million years ago. There is a huge stone on the top of the mountain that is flat like a drum. It is said that when it rains and winds, it makes a rumbling sound, hence the name Gushan Mountain. Gushan Mountain is located in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou City, on the north bank of the Minjiang River. It has been a tourist attraction since the Song Dynasty and is one of the top ten scenic spots in Fujian Province.
It is said that people in Fuzhou have the habit of climbing mountains at night. I wanted to join in the fun, but because time did not allow, I came to this mountain in the morning. Gushan Mountain is not very high. We walked slowly all the way and arrived at the observation deck in about 30 minutes. From the observation deck, you can overlook Fuzhou City. At this time, if you want to climb up further, you need to buy a ticket. We chose to take the cable car down and enjoy the green mountains and forests along the way, which is also a good choice.
Going up the mountain steps, the road is quite wide and busy. It is suitable for weekend sports to relieve stress, or to find some fun when you are bored. There are snacks and food sold in the store halfway up the mountain. A sausage is ¥5, and the adult cable car is ¥50 one-way, which is a bit expensive. I only went to the viewing platform where many people lived, and did not continue climbing. The Eighteen Scenic Spots require admission, but I did not go in to see them. I guess there is nothing to see unless you are very interested in history and culture. There are also many foods around Yongquan Temple. Walk a few kilometers up from Yongquan Temple to the viewing platform. Few people hike up, and most of them drive up. I don’t know how far the viewing platform is from the top of the drum, but it is good to have a car, so you can go to the top of the mountain to have a panoramic view of Fuzhou. My physical strength is limited, and it rained when I hiked to the viewing platform that day, so I gave up the idea of climbing to the top.
Gushan is located in Xiayuan, east of Fuzhou City, 8 kilometers away from the city. It is a famous tourist attraction in Fuzhou City and also a national key scenic spot. The mountain is not high in altitude, with the highest peak only 925 meters, but there is an ancient temple Yongquan Temple in the mountain. There are various strange stones and rare and precious trees in the east, west, south and north. There are also a large number of cliff carvings, including more than 100 stone carvings from the Song Dynasty alone, with regular script, official script and cursive script, which can be called the Fuzhou Stele Forest. There is a legend that the reason why Gushan is called "Gu" is because there is a stone on the mountain that looks like a drum, so it got the name, and there is also a legend that every time there is a thunderstorm, the sound of drums reverberates in the mountains, and the sound is like a drum, so it got the name.
There are three roads leading up the mountain, the Ancient Mountain Trail, the Pine Love Mountain Trail and the Brave Mountain Trail. There is also a cable car for going up and down. The Pine Love Mountain Trail is the flattest, the Ancient Trail is the second, and the Brave Mountain Trail is the most difficult, and the distances are inversely proportional. From the Ancient Trail, there are about 2,100 stone steps, and along the way, you can reach the gate of Yongquan Temple through the "Seven Pavilions and Seven Miles Road".
The first pavilion in Minshan: "Dongji Pavilion". After passing the temple, you will reach Dongji Bridge. After crossing the pavilion on the bridge, you will start climbing. There are many inscriptions on the rocks along the way. In addition to the most unique stones and famous trees, the most famous stone carvings in Gushan are about 300 in size from ancient times to the present.
You can go up Gushan Mountain to see the city of Fuzhou, and listening to the waves in the sea of pine trees is a way to relieve stress in busy modern life.
You can drive up Gushan Mountain along the mountain road. Many people ride bicycles or walk up the mountain. The roads along the way are well built and very convenient for driving. However, if you ride a bicycle or walk, there are still a lack of rest areas along the way, and climbing the mountain is still quite tiring in the hot summer.
There are three routes to Gushan Mountain, each with different scenery along the way.
My conclusion was that I didn't need to go. I climbed the mountain for nearly an hour and found a paid park at the top.
People who climbed up the mountain hardly ever went in. So going to Gushan is just climbing the mountain. The scenery along the way is pretty average and the journey is long. There is really no need to go.
Gushan is a favorite place for people living in Fuzhou to relax and exercise. Every weekend, many people will go hiking in groups on Gushan! Because the altitude is not high, the road is easy to walk, and it is suitable for men, women, young and old to climb and exercise on Gushan! The tree coverage rate is high, so the air is very good. It is a good place to relax and exercise with friends and family on weekends! There is also a cable car.
The mountain is covered with Buddhist calligraphy stone tablets, and the famous Yongquan Temple is located on the hillside of Gushan Mountain.
Gushan, a national scenic spot, is well-known in Fuzhou. It is generally a good place for citizens to relax on weekends. However, if foreign tourists come to Fuzhou, in addition to playing in the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, the second choice is basically Gushan! Gushan is located in the eastern part of Jin'an District, Fuzhou City, which is considered to be in the suburbs. However, there is a bus terminal at the foot of Gushan, Xiayuan Station, where there are many buses, so it is very convenient to travel! When you arrive at Gushan, you can have three ways to go up the mountain: 1. Walk up the steps, which takes about an hour and is an easy journey; 2. Take the cable car up, which is 60 yuan for a one-way trip and 80 yuan for a round trip. It only takes about 20 minutes for the whole journey, and you can enjoy the scenery of Gushan; 3. Take a van, which costs about 10 yuan. The characteristic is that it is fast and only takes about 15 minutes; Gushan is open to the public for free, but if you visit Yongquan Temple and Eighteen Scenic Spots, you will have to pay! Yongquan Temple is 40 yuan, and Eighteen Scenic Spots is 10 yuan, which is quite affordable! Foreign tourists who come to Fuzhou will choose to go to Yongquan Temple. The incense here is quite popular. It is recommended to have a guide with you, because Yongquan Temple has a long history and is a temple with rich cultural heritage. Through the guide, you can learn more about this place.
Gushan started maintenance in May this year and it is expected to be completed in February 2019. Gushan is not a good place for sightseeing, but for climbing. It is not cost-effective to take the cable car. It is best to take the car inside or the private car at the door to go directly to Yongquan Temple for 10 yuan. It saves effort, money, and no need to go back!
It depends on the weather when climbing Gushan Mountain. The visibility is low and you can't see anything. When it's hot, the sun shines in from the mountain road, and it's very hot. Because the trees are not very tall, the sunshade effect is not very good, so you must do a good job of sun protection. I have poor physical strength and it took me two hours to go down the mountain. I saw comments saying it takes an hour to go up the mountain, so I estimated it would take 3 hours. Walking 2 kilometers on the mountain road is also very tiring. It really depends on the person. The small scenic spot is really cost-effective. The scenery is not special, and some of it is really artificial and it looks funny. So I personally think that Gushan Mountain is for climbing, nothing else.
