The classic Fujian earth building has four circular buildings surrounding a square building, which is jokingly called "four dishes and one soup". A famous Chinese architect even wrote a poem to describe it: "Looking down, it looks like a flower, and looking from the side, it looks like the Potala Palace."
There are many ways to play in Tianluokeng. You can look down, look straight, or look up. Each angle has its own advantages. It can be said that there is no blind spot in 360 degrees.
The most classic viewing spot should be the viewing platform on the mountain. Standing there, you can overlook the whole picture of the "four dishes and one soup".
The interior of the earthen buildings is basically commercialized. The first floor is used for selling goods, and some of the upper floors can be used for accommodation.

The attraction of Tianluokeng is the five adjacent earthen buildings built on the hillside, one square and four round, commonly known as four dishes and one soup. You can see different landscapes from different angles, and the night view here is also very special, which is why Xiaoke arranged it at the end.
In addition to the upper and lower viewing platforms, we were guided by local villagers to closely watch the five earth buildings and see the landscapes such as Louwailou and Mirage. Finally, we had dinner at the farmhouse in the earth building. The sounds of pots and pans and the aroma of food were very similar to the lively alley life in Xiaoke's childhood.
There are four circular and one square earth buildings in Tianluokeng, and one of the circular earth buildings is oval, but the internal structures are all three-story wooden buildings. The residents here are very talkative. It is said that the Tianluokeng earth building group was burned and destroyed before, and the current earth buildings are reinforced on the original basis, but they also have several decades of history!
All the earth buildings are still inhabited by local residents, and the atmosphere of life is very strong and full of the smell of fireworks, which is why we chose to come to Tianluokeng...
The classic scene of Tianluokeng is "four dishes and one soup". Four round earth buildings surround a square earth building, with two viewing platforms, one up and one down, with a perfect view. Check in at night and during the day, it is really classic. You can also go inside the earth building, walk on the wooden corridor at night, and you can clearly hear the voices of people and TVs in the room.
I really like the Tianluokeng Tulou Group. Firstly, after visiting Huaiyuan Tower and Hegui Tower, I can see the Tulou Group from a different perspective. Secondly, I found the most cost-effective photo-taking and check-in opportunity at the viewing platform. 10 yuan per photo, and all electronic photos are given away. Is there a more conscientious price than this? It filled us with wonderful memories of Tianluokeng.
Tianluokeng Tulou, also known as "Four Dishes and One Soup", is one of the most famous Tulou in Fujian.
.
【Origin of the name】
One is that there is a legend that when the Jade Emperor came to investigate the sufferings of the people, the God of Land prepared four dishes and a soup to entertain him. After the Jade Emperor left, the God of Land forgot to clean up, so the food was left in the human world.
.
One story is that when an American satellite saw this place, it thought it was a missile base. Because there was smoke at all three meals (the smoke from the villagers’ cooking), the dish was named Four Dishes and One Soup.
.
【pattern】
Tianluokeng Tulou was built according to the five elements. Looking down, the farthest one is Gold, which is also the largest Tulou. It has an oval shape and a 1.8-meter-thick wall. I recommend you to go in and take a walk.
.
Three of the five earth buildings are equipped with wells, but there is no water or earth, which is naturally related to the five elements.
.
There is not much to say about the layout of earth buildings. All of them are basically the same, with a kitchen on the first floor, a granary on the second floor, and bedrooms on the third floor. If there are more floors, there will be more bedrooms.
.
[Source of snail pit]
Tianluokeng is inhabited by people with the surname Huang. It is said that Huang Xigui and his son Huang Baisanlang fled here from Luoyang, Henan, and made a living by raising ducks. As their family was poor, they raised a lot of snails in the mountains to feed the ducks. The ducks would lay double-yolk eggs after eating the snails, and Tianluokeng got its name from this.
.
Huang Baisanlang married five wives, each of whom gave birth to seven children. Now, those living in Tianluokeng are all descendants of his second wife, and the other children have moved to other cities.
.
【Business atmosphere】
Compared with Hekeng Tulou and Shiqiao Village, this place does have a stronger commercial atmosphere, but I don't think it's a big deal, because the dry goods sold here are all made by the villagers themselves, which is completely different from the Yiwu small commodities in general tourist areas. On the contrary, it is full of life. Sometimes they will invite you into the house for tea. Although they also sell tea, they will still send you off with a smile if you don't buy it.
.
TIPS: 1. Be sure to go to the observation deck. If there is no aerial photography plane, then the observation deck is the two most beautiful spots. The upper observation deck overlooks, and the lower observation deck looks up.
2. You can hire a local tour guide for 60-80 yuan per person, which includes explanations of Tianluokeng and Yuchanglou.
3. Tickets: Tianluokeng + Yuchanglou = 80 yuan
4. It is recommended to drive by yourself. Parking is available on the roadside for free.
4. Recommendation index: ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
How can you not go into the village to have a look when you arrive at Tianluokeng, and explore the magic of "four dishes and one soup" at close range? These five earth buildings are built in the order of the five elements of "gold, wood, water, fire, and earth". The height difference between the highest and the lowest earth building is nearly 20 meters. Four of the round buildings have successfully formed platforms on the upper and lower floors by increasing or decreasing the height of the pillars according to the terrain, which greatly facilitates living~
Tianluokeng Tulou is located in Tianluokeng natural village, Shangban Village, Shuyang, in the west of Nanjing County, Fujian Province. It is the settlement of the Huang family. The Tianluokeng Tulou group is located on the half slope of Huqiu Mountain at an altitude of 787.8 meters. It consists of the square Buyun Building, the round Zhenchang Building, Ruiyun Building, Hechang Building and the oval Wenchang Building. The five Tulou are all three-story civil structures with internal corridors. The first floor is the kitchen, the second floor is mostly a barn, and the third floor is the bedroom. The rooms are partitioned by mud bricks and are well preserved. There are 111 households and 464 people in the Tulou group. All the residents are members of the Huang family. In May 2001, the Tianluokeng Tulou group was designated as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In November 2003, the village was announced as the first batch of famous historical and cultural villages in China and one of the application sites for the World Cultural Heritage List.
Features: Unlike other earth buildings built at the foot of the mountain, this one is scattered on the hillside surrounded by mountains, with plenty of sunshine. It has a very good feng shui.
The Tianluokeng Tulou complex, mainly composed of a square building, three round buildings and an elliptical building, is located on the half slope of Huqiu Mountain at an altitude of 787.8 meters.
The Buyun Tower is in the middle, and the other four towers surround it, staggeredly arranged according to the terrain of the mountain.
The exquisite architectural combination of Tianluokeng Tulou Group constitutes a wonderful view of the ingenious combination of humanities and nature, which gives people a strong viewing impact and is breathtaking. The locals jokingly call it "four dishes and one soup". It is like a flower blooming in the mountains.
"Four dishes and one soup" is the landmark of Nanjing Tulou. Tianluokeng Tulou, Yuchanglou and Tasha Village are connected in a line, and there are tourist buses connecting them, so you can arrange a one-day tour. If you stay in Tianluokeng at night, you can enjoy the night view of the Tulou, and go to Yunshuiyao Scenic Area the next day.
There is a local saying: "Look at a flower above, look at the Potala Palace below, and my home is in the middle."
The real name of the four dishes and one soup is Tianluokeng, which was first seen on stamps and homestays in my country.
It's worth a visit. The exterior is great, but the earth building is too commercialized.
It's pretty good, but it's a pity that you are not allowed to go up to the Tianluokeng Tulou group, but you can go up to visit the ones in Hekeng.
Four dishes and one soup are the characteristics of Nanjing Tulou. They have different tastes when viewed from different angles. However, they are only suitable for viewing from a distance.
The earthen buildings are very unique. It is said that there are many such earthen buildings in other places, but for many foreigners who drive by themselves, it is relatively convenient here. However, the service in the scenic area is really not good. It is the worst 5A scenic area I have ever visited.
After getting off the high-speed railway station, a local private car will take you to Tianluokeng Scenic Area. The price for two people to share a car is 400 yuan, and you will be taken back to the station after the tour. It is more cost-effective for four people to share a car.
This is my second time to visit the Tulou. It is very unique and worth seeing. Unfortunately, I could climb all the buildings last time, but this time I can only climb the designated one. I understand the need for protection, but it is still a pity.
World Heritage, four dishes and one soup, very vivid.
The reason why it is called Tianluokeng is that the road spirals upwards, which looks very much like a snail shell. The most famous attraction in Tianluokeng is the "Four Dishes and One Soup", which is actually a group of earthen buildings formed by four round and one square earthen buildings.
So which one came first, the square building or the round building? The way of allocating family residences in Tulou is different from ours. One family is arranged in a vertical row. The first floor is more humid and is often used as a kitchen. The second floor is used for storage, and the third floor and above are for living. Due to this special structure, the four corners of the square building have poor lighting, which has become a defect, so it was later transformed into a round building, which is also a reflection of the wisdom of the ancients.
Going down from the viewing platform, you can enter the interior of the earth building, but you can only take a look around the first floor. Now you can't go upstairs to see it. The residents set up stalls in front of their homes, selling some handicrafts, homemade tobacco, tea and other things.
Four dishes and one soup are unique. A one-day tour from Xiamen to Tulou is OK. It is not expensive or a rip-off.
The guides, Master Hu and Sister Xiaoluo, from bus No. 6118, were very nice. They gave a very detailed introduction and were considerate to every member of the group. In summary, this trip was very good. I highly recommend everyone to join their group.💕💕💕
Nanjing is hard to end
One look at Nanjing is enough to describe it in words.
Compared with the two earth buildings with the word "坑" in their names, Yunshuiyao, whose name is as beautiful as a painting, is more like a pit. However, Tianluokeng, which looks like a missile launch base, and Hekeng, which looks like the Big Dipper, are not pits at all. The new style of earth buildings, whether looking up or down, is green and pleasant, and it is moving to say wow, pit pit wow wow.
The beauty of earthen buildings is only seen from a distance. Up close, I am more afraid of earthen buildings that are still inhabited. The beautiful style in "Big Fish and Begonia" is immediately reduced by 20% when placed in front of the chickens, dogs, and sewage. At this time, if an old lady stares at you desperately but speaks only Fujian dialect, the 20% discount becomes a huge discount. To be honest, I admire the brave men who must live in earthen buildings to experience their past and present lives. There is no water, electricity, or toilets. The only thing left is probably love in BC.
Thinking of Nanjing, I feel so sad.
Tianluokeng Tulou Group
There is... a small thing to complain about. There is no proper parking lot here. Some parking spaces are on the road, and there is a small... cliff... on the side of the road.
Small but beautiful, "four dishes and one soup", tourists are allowed to enter (am I hinting at Zhencheng Tower and Chengqi Tower...), but the price is that most of it is a restaurant. There are two viewing platforms, both of which are classic camera positions, the upper one is suitable for taking pictures of earth buildings, and the lower one is suitable for taking pictures of terraces. There are several portraits in the earth building that you can pay attention to. It is about the owner of the Huang building who came here to open up the territory more than a thousand years ago. He lived to be more than 80 years old and had at least three long-lived wives, each of whom had... seven... children... For buying golden thread lotus tea, it is recommended to go to the Chuxi Earth Building in the west...
There are two local painting dealers. I added one of them on WeChat. The other dealer’s paintings are basically the same but half the price. I asked why they charge more than the other dealer. He said it’s not like they’re buying vegetables, so they charge the same price for the same vegetables. I said that makes sense.
There are two beverage vendors in the scenic area that left a deep impression on me. One vendor said that its 500ml orange juice was squeezed from 16 small oranges, but the taste was ok and the price was not expensive. The other vendor sold black pepper steak fruit... juice...
If you get up earlier than the bugs in the morning, you can buy tickets... Buy tickets... Buy tickets...
Four dishes and one soup in the Tulou group, there is no other branch except this one. A must-see place when visiting Tulou.
When making a plan, you had to choose between Yongding, Yunshuiyao and Tianluokeng. China-TravelNote studied for a long time and finally chose Tianluokeng. The reasons are: the people are simple and honest, it is very representative, the number of successful world heritage applications is the largest, cars can travel between the three attractions, and it is a non-mainstream popular attraction with few people.
There are upper and lower viewing platforms. The upper viewing platform offers a panoramic view of the four dishes and one soup, and the lower viewing platform offers a panoramic view of the side. For me, these two places are not amazing, but I was slightly shocked by the three scenic spots, especially the crooked building and the spirit of unity of Fujian people.
Three hours is more than enough for a quick tour. (Due to the large number of people during the National Day holiday, parking spaces in the scenic area are tight and traffic restrictions have caused a delay of half an hour.)
It's very famous, and it's really good. If there are not many people, it's worth a visit.
If you come to Tulou, you can’t say you have seen it if you haven’t visited Tianluokeng.
Standing on the observation deck and looking at the Tianluokeng Tulou complex is indeed spectacular.
After entering the Tianluokeng Scenic Area, there are buses that take you to various scenic spots. In theory, the scenic area buses work in shifts and you board the next bus after each shift. However, because it was the off-season, there were only four tourists in the entire Tianluokeng visitor hall, including the two of us, so we were treated as a chartered bus, and the driver waited for us to finish our tour at the scenic spot.
The first point is the famous four dishes and one soup. These five earth buildings were built together, and the latest one is only a few decades old. The interior of each earth building is similar. There are some shops selling local specialties and small handicrafts, and there are some indigenous people inside. You can pay five yuan to go upstairs to take pictures.
The second point is the crooked building. This building has five floors and the maximum inclination angle of the beams and columns is nearly ten degrees, which is quite peculiar.
The famous "Four Dishes and One Soup" is a classic of Fujian Tulou and is also the main representative work of Fujian Tulou's application for World Heritage.
Not far from Yunshuiyao is the famous "Four Dishes and One Soup" in Tianluokeng, which is a square with four circles, one of which is an ellipse. It was shrouded in mist and heavy rain, and I was soaked all over. Finally, I ended my trip to the earth building with a panoramic photo of the "Four Dishes and One Soup".
Tianluokeng is Route A, and Yunshuiyao is Route B. At first, I saw that everyone said that the ticket price was too high and it was not necessary to go to a Tulou. But after going, I felt that it was worth it, after all, it is a world cultural heritage. Buy tickets online in advance, which is 5 yuan cheaper than offline. There is a free luggage storage area at the visitor center. It is recommended to take the scenic spot bus. The three scenic spots are too far away. There is a tour guide on each bus who will explain the history of the Tulou. I learned a lot.
We walked down the steps beside the viewing platform to the village. It was then that I realized that the five earth buildings were not on the same plane. They were arranged in a stepped manner from top to bottom, depending on the terrain. And it was not a so-called plum blossom display. It was just because of various coincidences that the unique view from the upper viewing platform could be seen.
Every earth building here has the same surname, just like a big family. The tour guide took us into the round Zhenchang Building and the square Buyun Building among the five earth buildings. Most of the earth buildings are three-story, and each floor has a unique function. The first floor is the kitchen, the second floor is the storage room, and the third floor is the residence. For fairness, the rooms are allocated vertically.
The scenery is very beautiful both during the day and at night. It is the most beautiful time to have dinner in the village and enjoy the starry sky.
It is the very famous "Four Dishes and One Soup" Tulou Group. The scenic area is very large. You can drive in after buying a ticket. Drive directly to the Four Dishes and One Soup Observation Deck, and you can get it. The square one in the middle is the "Buyun Building" and the round one on the upper right is the "Hechang Building". These two were built in 1796! Yes, they are more than 200 years old. They do not contain a single steel nail. They are just made of earth. It's amazing! The wisdom of the Chinese people once again impressed me~Haha~ These buildings, like plum blossoms, are dotted among the mountains and ridges. These buildings are the gathering place of the Huang family. They are like a village in the north, but there is no wall in the north. It is just a Tulou, performing the reproduction and inheritance from generation to generation, hiding the wind and gathering the qi! This place seems to be the paradise in the textbook, with birds singing and flowers blooming, green mountains and green waters, so enviable! Don't underestimate this Tulou. It's thousands of square meters if you take it casually! Wow~ It's hidden~
The advantage of traveling by car is that you can stay in the Four Dishes and One Soup scenic area. In addition to watching from the upper viewing platform during the day, you can also watch the Tulou at sunset, watch the Four Dishes and One Soup at night, and experience the nightlife of the Tulou residents. When night falls on Tianluokeng, any photo you take will be a blockbuster!
Entering the Tulou at night, the lights are not brilliant, but the momentum is magnificent ~ It will feel different from the daytime
The reason why it is called Tianluokeng is because the road leading into the scenic area is winding and like walking on the back of a snail.
The scenic area is divided into three scenic spots:
Attraction 1: The most famous is the four dishes and one soup;
Scenic spot 2: Yuchang Building with a history of 700 years;
Attraction three: Tasha Village.
Four dishes and one soup that changed with the light. The sky was beautiful. It was very peaceful as the sun set.
I have seen many friends complaining that admission fees are charged more than ten kilometers away from the scenic spot. I have been here for two years and I will explain this issue to everyone.
First, go to the Tulou Tourist Service Center where there is a ticket office. It is really more than ten kilometers from here to Tianluokeng. In fact, you should not enter from this road. You should follow the provincial road and navigate directly to Tasha Village. After buying a ticket here, you will reach the first scenic spot in Tianluokeng Scenic Area: Tasha Village in one kilometer. Then it is 3 kilometers to Yuchang Building East and West, and another 3 kilometers to Tianluokeng.
The scenery under the tower is very beautiful, it can be said to be a paradise on earth.
The oldest earthen building with a history of 700 years
The most famous one is four dishes and one soup
It is recommended to stay at the foot of the tower. The scenery is beautiful and it is very suitable for spending the night by the window listening to the water. The night view is also very beautiful. There is a lot to eat, but there is nothing to eat after four dishes and one soup!
In addition, there is a "Taxia Noodles" restaurant in the middle of the path from Taxia to Deyuantang. The noodles are very delicious. Although I don’t like noodles, I drank up all the soup. According to the boss, many movie stars have been there, and Miss World No. 1 Yu Wenxia also likes to eat this noodle.
In addition, the Hakka dishes served in roadside restaurants are also quite good, and you must order the salt and pepper tea tree mushrooms!
I bought a ticket to Nanjing County in an hour. I changed to bus No. 6 in the yard of the county long-distance bus station and arrived at Nanjing Tulou Visitor Center. It was very quiet, and there was almost no one in the huge visitor center. I bought a ticket for Tianluokeng Scenic Area on Line A at the ticket window for 100 yuan. There were too few sightseeing buses in the scenic area. There was no one to ask, and no useful information.
The four dishes and one soup are really beautiful when you look at them from the high observation deck. The five earth buildings are not big in size and the interior is messy. So it is not recommended to stay in the earth buildings. First of all, it is very troublesome to go to the bathroom at night. In addition, it is very cold in the mountains in March, so air conditioning is still needed. We stayed in the earth building and felt very cold even with the heavy quilt. The lights will be on at night, but I missed it because I was drinking and chatting with other travelers.
The rooms in the earth building are divided into several floors, and you can imagine the lively scene here.
Located in Tianluokeng Village, Dayang Town, Nanjing County, Fujian Province, the famous "four dishes and one soup" is a business card of Fujian Tulou! Tourism development is relatively mature!
The Tianluokeng Tulou Group, Yuchang Building and Tasha Village jointly sell tickets. The entrance fee is 100 yuan. The three scenic spots are quite far apart. It is said that there are battery cars connecting them. The Tianluokeng Tulou Group is also known as "Four Dishes and One Soup". It consists of three round buildings, one oval building and one square building. It looks like a table of dishes from a distance. There are two passages to enter the Tulou Group. One is the entrance of Tianluokeng Village (go straight ahead after the lower viewing platform, there is a sign on the right side of the road), and the other is to walk along the plank road from the upper viewing platform.
The "four dishes and one soup" come into view from the lower viewing platform. These earth buildings are located in the jungle with undulating mountains. Looking down from the viewing platform, the "four dishes and one soup" are perfectly presented, which is also the standard photo for the local earth buildings to promote to the outside world.
The yellow exterior wall, blue sky and white clouds complement each other, making the earthen building more beautiful and solid. The people living here are simple and leisurely, and retain some traditional lifestyles.
It's not overdeveloped, there are still many residents, and it's very unique...
I really like this place. We stayed in the Four Dishes and One Soup Building that night. In fact, the conditions are average. We walked around the village during the day. I like it.
When visiting Xiamen, we also visited the Tulou. We visited the Nanping Tulou in the morning and went to the Yongding Tulou in the afternoon. We did not go to the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area because we felt that there was nothing fun in the ancient town.
This place is worth visiting. You can take a car to view the scenic area from above, and then go down the mountain to taste the "four dishes and one soup". The Tianluokeng Earth Building Complex consists of 1 square building (Buyun Building), 3 round buildings (Hechang Building, Zhenchang Building, Ruiyun Building) and 1 elliptical building (Wenchang Building). The square building Buyun Building is in the middle, and the other 4 buildings surround it, and are staggered in layout according to the mountain terrain.
It is a must-see attraction for seeing earthen buildings. It is most beautiful when you look down from above, and then you can visit each earthen building.
Very good, a place I like very much. There is an observation deck where you can see the whole picture, and you can also go into the village. The ticket price includes the observation deck and the village, and the village is not far away. If there are not many cars, you can park at the entrance of the village. Don't listen to those people at the observation deck who say they will take you into the village.
It is a place that can only be reached by chartering a car. However, the scenery is beautiful, and the viewing platform at the foot of the mountain is wonderful in its own way. There are five earth buildings, four round and one square, arranged according to the five elements. The bottom one is oval, which is very beautiful.
Tianluokeng Tulou Group is the "four dishes and one soup" that everyone often talks about. After entering the gate of the scenic area, there are buses to take you to various scenic spots, which saves energy (we signed up for a tour group, I don’t know if it is the same for individual tourists). As for the scenery, there is actually an observation deck to appreciate the peculiar appearance, and there is nothing else. If you want to pay attention to the internal architecture of the Tulou, it is recommended to go to Yongding Gaobei Tulou, which is larger and more spectacular~
After a day of sightseeing, Tianluokeng is still worth a visit. The 4 dishes and 1 soup, as well as the 700-year-old Yuchang Building, are all pretty good. When I went there today, I met an old man who ran a restaurant directing parking. At first, I felt that he was trying to rip you off, but later I felt that he was quite nice. He took us around and then we went to his house for dinner. It was really delicious!! It's called Youyuan Restaurant. After we finished eating and paid, I thought he would ignore us, but he took us to other places. Thumbs up. Fortunately, it was off-season. Parking would be difficult in the peak season. Overall, it was good.
The huge size of the earthen buildings attracts our attention. The large earthen buildings are gathered together and can be combined into a peculiar shape, that is, four dishes and one soup.
Beautiful scenery in Dashanao~~~
The journey here is really not beautiful, and the scenery can only be seen in 3.5 hours~~
Generally, group tours do not go back. You see the distant view from the observation deck, go down the stairs into the village, and then leave the village and turn to the next location~~
The scenery during the day and at night is different~~~
In order to take photos of the day and night, I stayed in the village for one night and ran up and down the stairs twice. I was really tired~~~
During the day, more tourists come to the village to see the earth buildings up close, but at night, only a few tourists can be seen playing in the village.
After the bustle of the day, the Tulou returned to peace at night~~ Compared with the day, I prefer the night and the early morning. Before a large number of tourists arrive, I walk around the village and take a look. It makes me happy~~~
In fact, if you are not particularly fond of Tulou, you don't have to stay here, just take a quick look.
After all, the one-way journey of more than three hours is not beautiful, and it is not recommended for children who are too young to come here~~
Fortunately, some homestays are gradually improving the accommodation conditions here to provide better food and accommodation for travelers.
The landmark building of Fujian Tulou and the representative of Nanjing Tulou, more than 700 people from 130 households of the local Jiangxiatang Huang clan still live in the building, three round, one square and one oval, the square building in the middle is more than 400 years old, and the two buildings on the side were built after the founding of the People's Republic of China. There is an upper viewing platform to watch "four dishes and one soup", a village chopsticks viewing platform to watch three dishes and one soup, and a lower viewing platform to see the Potala Palace.
This is my second visit to Nanping Tulou. Last time I went to the Yunshuiyao line, and this time I went to the Tianluokeng line.
Four dishes and one soup, very vivid. Rainy days are not as clear as sunny days, but they have a different flavor.
This picture must look familiar to everyone. It is the representative work of Fujian Yongding Nanjing Tulou. The Tianluokeng Tulou Group in Shuyang Town, Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian, is vividly called "four dishes and one soup" because it consists of three circular Tulou, one oval Tulou and one square Tulou. The most classic angle to view the Tulou is from the upper viewing platform beside the highway. The Tianluokeng Tulou is more famous because several Tulou form a Tulou group landscape, and you can look down and look up on the highway, and appreciate the Tulou from various angles. It is more appropriate to take pictures of Tulou from a bird's-eye view. When you walk into the village and get inside the Tulou, you feel like you have no idea where to start. There are still people living inside these Tulou, selling tourist souvenirs and local specialties. The first floor is the kitchen, the second floor is for storing food and sundries, and the third floor and above are the bedrooms, but the overall living conditions are still relatively poor, and it is difficult to have a suitable angle to shoot inside. From the lower observation deck, you can look up at the earth building. Since the earth building is built on the hillside, it has a good sense of layering. The hillsides near the earth building have been reclaimed as fields to grow crops, vegetables and tea. There is a lot of tea in Nanping and Yongding areas, most of which is grown on such hillsides. In addition, there are various fruits such as lychees, bananas, grapefruits, persimmons, etc.
This is the first time I have seen such a unique building. The ancients were so smart.
The distinctive Fujian dwellings have a beautiful and unique environment. The farmhouse dishes in the scenic area are affordable and economical. Although the stay is short, the mountain scenery is still beautiful.
Take a walk during the holidays and see the crystallization of our ancestors' wisdom. I heard that it is the filming location of "Where Are We Going, Dad?"
Tianluokeng consists of 1 square building: Buyun Building, 4 round buildings: Zhenchang Building, Ruiyun Building, Wenchang Building, and Hechang Building. The four round buildings surround the square building. "Looking down at a flower from above, looking up at the Potala Palace from below." The Tianluokeng Tulou Group consists of 5 Tulou, including 1 square, 3 round and 1 oval. The square Buyun Building in the middle was built in the first year of the Jiaqing Period of the Qing Dynasty. Later, Hechang Building, Zhenchang Building, Ruiyun Building and Wenchang Building were built around it. The five Tulou are laid out according to the undulating terrain of the mountain. The scattered earth walls echo the layers of terraces, giving off a fairy-like demeanor of a mountain dwelling. It is said that due to its peculiar shape, it is also a "rocket launch base" in the eyes of Americans. In the early years, the US Central Intelligence Agency speculated from satellite photos that China had hidden a "missile base" in the deep mountains of Fujian.
The famous "Four Dishes and One Soup" Tulou Group is built against the mountain, with a reasonable layout and ethnic style.
The five earthen buildings are all named Huang, and were built in the order of the five elements. The square building in the middle is called Buyun Building. Every household sells tea, and some people draw portraits for tourists.
The famous "four dishes and one soup" refers to this place, a group of earthen buildings built in the mountains. In the right season, you can even see fireflies in the grass in the fields.
The simple but spectacular earthen buildings are representative of the earthen buildings. These two photos were taken from the upper and lower viewing platforms respectively. Looking down from the upper viewing platform, it is called "four dishes and one soup"; looking up from the lower viewing platform, the locals say that the scenery from this angle looks like the Potala Palace.
The environment is like a fairyland in the eyes of northerners. Four dishes and one soup. Someone will take pictures for you for 10 yuan. Tianluokeng is suitable for self-driving.
Tianluokeng Tulou Group is the so-called four dishes and one soup. The Tulou in it is quite classic and suitable for about two hours of play. The surrounding hills and mountains are also very beautiful. Among them, the square Tulou can be climbed upstairs, and the other Tulou need to ask the local residents. Basically, the five Tulou have their own styles. It is recommended to go and see them all. Also, it is best to read some relevant information before going there, otherwise it will just be a building. After understanding the relevant history and basic knowledge of architecture, you will find the Tulou particularly interesting.
I like the nature of Tianluokeng. Although this earth building in the village is not famous, it is just an ordinary one among the more than 3,000 earth buildings in Fujian, but it is also our first close contact. There is a lower viewing platform halfway, where you can park and take pictures from the opposite angle. Then it is recommended to drive directly to the upper viewing platform to overlook the panoramic view, and finally drive back to the parking lot at the entrance of the village, enter the interior of the earth building for a visit, and climb from the village passage to the upper viewing platform to see the night view at night. If the weather is right, you can also go to see fireflies. The platform is divided into two layers. If you want to take pictures of the scenery, the lower layer is fine. If you want people to be in the scenery, you can take pictures from the upper layer. It doesn't matter if you come alone. There are local residents in the small shop here who can take pictures and print them on the spot. Ten yuan a piece is not expensive, and the people are all very kind. You can also buy Northeast Daban, which is delicious haha. We also bought a photo because we were embarrassed to let others help take a group photo for free. Help each other when you go out. It's also good to take care of business within a reasonable range. Back to the inside of the earth building group, except for individual tourists who stay here at night, there are no outsiders. The residents in the earthen building were chatting or cooking, and the air was filled with a leisurely and fragrant smell. The sunshine in the morning of the second day was very comfortable, so we climbed up to the observation deck for the third time~ There was smoke from cooking at night and mist in the morning. The beauty of the ancient building really needs to slow down to appreciate it...
You can buy tickets for the Tulou online, which is 10 yuan cheaper than on-site. Remember to pick up your tickets at the visitor center. Don't lose your tickets. They are strictly checked at every checkpoint. The roofs of the Tulou are all made of tiles and are well preserved.
If you have more time, it is recommended to stay overnight in Tasha Village. If you only have one day, you can choose the Yunshuiyao route. There are pure play routes on Taobao.
1. Yunshuiyao Huaiyuan Tower
2Tianluokeng Taxia Village
There is a route with two attractions. I signed up for a one-day tour with two attractions. What a wrong decision. One attraction would have been enough. The earth buildings all look the same. I almost collapsed after 8 hours of round trip. I feel sad when I think about it. Fortunately, Yunshuiyao gave me good memories.
It is indeed very unique, and the folk customs are also good. The whole village is made up of relatives, and generations have settled here. Young people go out to work, and most of the people in the village are older women or married women, and very young children. Just look at the scenery, and knowing more will only increase sadness.
This is not edible. If you really want to eat it, you will only get a mouthful of soil.
This is the name of the five earth buildings, the central one is square and the surrounding four are round. Locals affectionately call it "Four Dishes and One Soup". The official name is "Tianluokeng", but "Four Dishes and One Soup" is more vivid.
It looks strange from a distance, and I like it even more when I walk in. The residents live in rooms that are arranged in circles. Children are running happily in the public area in the courtyard, and mothers are chatting while washing vegetables. I am used to living in the cold and unfamiliar pigeon cages in the city, but I suddenly feel close and warm here. There are green mountains outside the door, and there are buildings outside the door. Outside the door is the distance and the unknown, and inside the door is life and warmth.
The legendary "four dishes and one soup". I finally came to see it.
As a tourist, I don’t have much time to compose, set up lighting, wait for clouds and fog to pass…Landscape photography is not like studio photography, which is greatly affected by the environment and weather. If the light is not good, there is no way to put up a reflector in front of the earth building. As for me, I usually use the evening time to read how to take postcards. YHA has Feng Mubo’s book. I read it more often to get an impression and some inspiration. The less you need to judge on the spot, the greater the chance of taking good photos.
Tianluokeng Tulou is one of the must-visit attractions of Nanjing Tulou, commonly known as four dishes and one soup. Four dishes and one soup means: "one soup" refers to the square building - Buyun Building, and "four dishes" refer to three round buildings - Hechang Building, Zhenchang Building, Ruiyun Building and one oval building - Wenchang Building. The two long strips of Tulou in the lower right corner are the chopsticks buildings where four dishes and one soup are served. It is recommended to stay in the Tulou for one night to experience the Tulou group when the lights are turned on at night. It is really good. If you are going to play, it is recommended to get up early to see the attractions because there are not so many tourists if you get up early, and the shops are not placed at the door of the room, and the experience will be much better. It is worth recommending.
