Gulangyu - Haitiantang

Haitiantang was built in 1921 and is listed as one of the top ten villas on Gulangyu Island. It is the only villa complex on Gulangyu Island that is symmetrically arranged along the central axis. It was built by Huang Xiuliang, a Chinese overseas in the Philippines, who purchased the original site of the foreign club in the concession. These five villas adopt the traditional symmetrical pattern of Chinese architecture, with the middle building as the main building, spreading out to both sides, and a square in the center, forming a large-scale building complex. The most distinctive middle building is an antique palace-style building with a large roof, with a double-eaved hip roof and four corners raised high. The lintels of the doors, windows, corridors, and halls are all hung with cement openwork hanging covers, and the eaves are decorated with twined flowers or water-absorbing dragons, and the beams and brackets are all made of dragon and phoenix ornaments. In particular, there are two caissons under the roof, and Chinese flower and bird paintings are painted on the walls of the wells. The appearance is quite like a pavilion, which is very prominent. The outer edge of the corridor is decorated with hanging brackets and hanging columns with flower baskets, which makes the middle building very national. From a distance, this building is quite imposing and steady and refined. Now, the theme building of Haitiantang is Gulangyu Architecture Art Museum, which provides free service explanation. In addition to viewing the architecture, you can also enjoy Nanyin performances and puppet shows, which will definitely shock you.

Adult tickets are 88 yuan, including the hourly and half-hour Nanyin and puppet show performances, as well as more than 20 minutes of explanations. There are children's tickets, but if you are over 1.5 meters tall, you need to buy an adult ticket.

After entering, we went upstairs to listen to Nanyin. The girl who sang the lead song introduced the history of Nanyin and its four unique musical instruments. She had the typical appearance that old Fujianese people consider beautiful, with phoenix eyes and a baby face.

After going downstairs, I watched a wonderful puppet show on the first floor. Later, the staff came out to show everyone how many difficult puppet movements were operated by hands. I personally think that the puppet show is worth half of the ticket price.

There is a puppet show on the first floor on the right side of the entrance. It is highly recommended. The actors will show you how to do it after the performance, and you can take photos with them. The second floor is a Nanyin show.

The Guanyin statue in the middle of the second floor looks like Guanyin from the front and Jesus from the back. Unfortunately, it is not the original one. The original one was made of nanmu, and the current one was rebuilt in the 1980s and changed to metal.

Haitiantanggou is quite interesting. If you don't have time to learn more about it before coming to Gulangyu, I suggest you come to Haitiantanggou - International Architecture Expo first. It has a detailed introduction to the buildings on Gulangyu. You can listen to the guide's explanation first. If you have time, it is better to read it carefully, which will make your visit to Gulangyu more targeted.

There is also a nice puppet show in Haitiantanggou, which the kids will definitely like. Even I was very excited. There is also a Nanyin performance on the second floor. I really respect cultural heritage. Several performers are very serious, but my level is really limited.

Haitiantanggou is a private attraction with a ticket price of 80 yuan, but it only costs 58 yuan online. In Gulangyu, the most worthwhile place to visit is not Zhang Sanfeng and Miss Zhao, nor Riguang Rock and Shuzhuang Garden. I think the essence of Gulangyu is in Haitiantanggou. In Haitiantanggou, we not only visited the Gulangyu International Architecture Art Museum and learned about the general history and celebrities of this island; we also watched puppet shows, listened to Nanyin performances, and experienced the unique culture of southern Fujian. The puppet shows in Haitiantanggou are performed in a cycle, but it is said that the performance clips are the same every time, and the small stage is rich in expression. After the performance, the actors came to the front desk and showed the audience how they used their flexible fingers to control the puppets, which was very exciting.

The Nanyin performance is on the second floor. As a layman, I personally think that opera is more about the concept of "field". When you sit there, the actors' singing and demeanor can bring you into the scene. Although they didn't understand the content, the children still sat in the front row and listened to it very seriously. It takes at least two hours to visit the entire Haitian Hall and watch the performance. If some children want to watch the puppet show repeatedly, it will take longer.

Haitiantang was built in 1921. The villas around it are known as the wealthy area on Gulangyu Island. It is one of the top ten villas on Gulangyu Island and is known as the most fashionable and exquisite old villa on Gulangyu Island. It is a model of the combination of Chinese and Western cultures.

The residential buildings on Gulangyu Island, after seeing them for a long time, people gradually start to ignore them.

By Small fat cat |

The most expensive attraction on Gulangyu Island. When I stayed at Lin's Mansion, I was given a free ticket. Even if there were two of us, I only got one ticket. There were Nanyin performances and puppet shows inside. The ticket seemed to be several hundred yuan, and there was nothing special about it. It felt too expensive.

By Free and easy breeze |

I walked a long way and saw that I needed a ticket, so I didn't go in. It was a group of buildings where rich people lived in the past. Anyway, such buildings can be seen everywhere on Gulangyu Island.

Haitiantanggou is a typical old building on Gulangyu Island. It is a combination of Chinese and Western styles and was built by overseas Chinese. There were originally five buildings here, and now only three are open to the public. The ticket price is not cheap, so it is more affordable to buy it online in advance. There are guides every half an hour to explain, and there will be cultural performances in different buildings.

It is the unique architectural style of Gulangyu Island. It combines Chinese and Western architectural styles to form a new architectural style.

Here I watched a puppet show and a Nanyin performance, which are traditional Chinese arts.

All buildings can be roughly divided into three categories: embassies of various countries, private homes of wealthy people, and Haitiantanggou. The "Haitiantanggou" old villa, which is now open after restoration, is a model of the combination of Chinese and Western cultures. Haitiantanggou seems to have 5 buildings. You need to buy an additional ticket for the main building, which seems to be not cheap. If you are interested, you can book it online in advance, which will be much cheaper.

First of all, the 88 yuan ticket for Haitiantang is really worth going.

Haitiantang is composed of several groups of buildings. The main building is where Huang Xiuliang and the first wife live, and the other one near the gate is where the second and third concubines live.

The main building is the highlight of the visit. The second concubine's building is where you can watch glove puppet performances on the first floor and Nanyin performances on the second floor. The third concubine's building is rented to Xiaoxuetang Bookstore and can be entered for free from the other side.

1See the buildings and there are detailed introductions. There are special personnel responsible for explaining and having an in-depth understanding of Gulangyu Island

2Watching the glove puppet show is very interesting. The actors' performance depends entirely on their hands.

3. Nanyin performances are not understandable but very pleasant to listen to.

For those who like architecture, opera, folk customs, and don't want to just rush through the sights, Haitiantang is a must-see.

To be honest, Haitian Hall is really worth entering, but the ticket is really a bit expensive. I walked around the door several times and finally didn’t go in. I still want to go there next time.

By Don't forget peace of mind |

This is not included in the combined ticket, and there is no student ticket. 88 yuan is still quite expensive. But I saw on the Internet that if you only see one building in Gulangyu, it is Haitiantang. On Gulangyu, where every building is so exquisite, I really don’t know what kind of building can enjoy such a reputation. So I gritted my teeth and bought it! After entering, it was really worth it, really. Haitiantang is equivalent to a manor. The ticket includes Nanyin, puppet show, and another one is similar to cultural relics explanation. It starts at a fixed time, and you can ask the ticket seller for details. The architectural design inside is very symmetrical and looks very comfortable, which also makes it very convenient for me to take pictures. There is both the symmetrical beauty of oriental classical and the Western European style. I ran around in it and took pictures happily. Nanyin performance belongs to China's intangible cultural heritage. There are many details, such as the objects under the feet of the performers. Before the performance begins, they will be introduced one by one. The performance is a total of 15 minutes, not long. I actually don’t understand Minnan dialect at all, and I can’t understand what they are singing at all, but I still wait for the performance to end and stand up and applaud before leaving. At the beginning, the whole room was full of people, and everyone listened attentively to the explanation. After half of the performance, many tourists felt that it was enough to watch it, so they left in waves. After 10 minutes of the performance, it was like the end of get out of class, and there were only a few people left in the room. Looking at the folk artists on the stage, they have to perform more than ten shows a day, and they will finish the performance as long as there is an audience at the end of each show. At this moment, I am thinking, with so many audiences leaving without permission and being so disrespectful to others, will the artists on the stage feel heartbroken, or are they used to it? After reading this, you may think I am being pretentious, but I really am.

One of the must-visit places in Gulangyu Island.

I flew from Changsha to Xiamen in one day, then took a bus to Piano Pier and then a boat to Gulangyu Island. After putting down my luggage, I ran there according to the map, and luckily I caught the last Nanyin performance and puppet show of the day.

It's a pity that we went too late and didn't have time to sit inside longer.

Haitiantanggou, the most fashionable and exquisite old villa cultural tourism attraction on Gulangyu Island, can be called the new world of Xiamen.

Haitiantang was built in 1921 and is one of the top ten villas on Gulangyu Island. It is the only villa complex on Gulangyu Island that is symmetrically arranged along the central axis. It was built by Filipino overseas Chinese Huang Xiuliang on the original site of the foreign club in the concession. The middle building has the most distinctive feature. "It is a palace but not a palace, but better than a palace; it is also a hall but not a hall, but better than a hall; it is neither Chinese nor Western, and it is unusual, and the combination of Chinese and Western styles is more attractive." This is also unique on Gulangyu Island.

Of course, the above two paragraphs are from Baidu. The reason why I think Haitiantang Gou is beautiful is, first, because its name is beautiful, and second, there is a bookstore called "Xiaoxuetang" next to it. Reading a book quietly in the corridor, sipping a cup of tea, and looking at Haitiantang Gou is beautiful in itself.

By Jingzhou Lao Zhou |

Haitiantanggou is located at No. 38, Fujian Road, Gulangyu Island. It was built in 1921 and was listed as a key historical building by the Xiamen Municipal Government in April 2002. The restored and open old villa is a model of the combination of Chinese and Western cultures.

Gulangyu Haitiantang structure, the gatehouse is a typical traditional Chinese style, with double eaves, brackets, flying eaves and upturned corners. The buildings on the front and back sides generally use ancient Greek columns, and the window decorations are mostly Western style, but the walls and corners are Chinese carvings. There was originally a foreign club in the middle building. After Huang Xiuliang bought it, he built it into an antique palace-style building with a large roof, which was built by Putian craftsmen. It adopts a double-eaved hip roof, and the four corners are high and twisted. The front of the roof is ingenious, and a "pavilion" that looks like a double-eaved diamond point is designed on the outside, and a treasure gourd is installed on the top of the pavilion; from the inside, it is an octagonal caisson made of strips of wood, which goes straight from the second floor to the top of the well, and Chinese flower and bird paintings are painted on the wall of the well. This "pavilion" is purely decorative. The lintels of the doors, windows, corridors, and halls are decorated with cement openwork flying covers, all eaves are decorated with twisted flowers or water-absorbing mosquito dragons, and the beams and quewei are all sculpted with dragons and phoenixes, which embellish the villa very nationally. The columns are square and made of red bricks, with natural and harmonious colors. The main hall has four vertical columns with flower baskets corresponding to the flower pots on the railings. In particular, the outer edge of the corridor is decorated with brackets, which makes it look particularly stable. The architectural style of Haitiantang is rare in Gulangyu, where Western-style buildings are everywhere.

I was cheated by the local tour guide in Gulangyu. The place itself is OK, but the shadow of being cheated still lingers. It is the villas of the rich and educated people in the past, as well as some foreign consulates and architectural styles of various countries. You can go or not.

After having a good meal and a good drink, we went straight to Haitian Hall. The ticket was 118 yuan per person, but I booked it online in advance for 70 yuan per person, which saved me a lot of money.

I was quite interested in it, but I almost fell asleep while listening to Nanyin. Overall, this place feels ok.

I decided to go to Gulangyu Island on a whim. There were discounted tickets on Dianping.com, but I had to make an appointment one hour in advance, so I had to buy a full-price ticket, 88 yuan, which was a bit expensive, but I felt it was worth it. I visited the villa, there was an explanation, and there was a particularly wonderful puppet show! I strongly recommend watching the puppet show.

By Better me |

The Haitiantang structure is in good condition. Tickets are available for 80 yuan per person. There are guides at 12:00, 12:30 and 13:00 to introduce the history of the entire building and its details. There is a puppet show in the annex building at 13:30. The specific changes are subject to the official scenic spot, so if you are on Gulangyu for 2 days, it is recommended to consult the time on the first day and enter on the second day. Built in 1921, it is a very unique building. The reason why it is unique is that its gate is a typical Chinese-style foyer. It is not a traditional brick and wood component, but is cast with concrete. The traditional Chinese door railing is carved on the concrete. This is unique, especially compared with the Western-style gate of Huang Rongyuan Hall. The difference between the two brings a strong visual contrast, which is very impactful. Not only that, it has a more unique place. The main building is Western-style, but the roof is indeed Chinese-style. This is the only one in the whole Gulangyu Island. Anyway, I haven't seen any other. It is said that the overseas Chinese were bullied abroad, and the owner used the building to vent his anger. Haha, the Chinese suppress the West, which really has a bit of Chinese traditional Feng Shui. The four Western-style auxiliary buildings guarding the Chinese-style main building in the middle are also interesting. It is a completely symmetrical building. From the second floor of the main building, you can see the Huang Rongyuan Hall opposite. There is also a huge Guanyin statue on the second floor. This is very special. When I went upstairs, I thought it was a statue of the Virgin Mary. As a result, I walked to the front and saw that it was a Guanyin statue. Well, because I believe in Buddhism, I didn’t dare to take a photo, but it is really unique. The back is the Virgin Mary shape, and the front is the Guanyin shape. It really reflects the owner’s idea of suppressing the West with Chinese. In addition, at first glance, I thought the fence was a Western-style Roman column, but after a closer look, it was all a water bottle, which means peace and safety in Chinese. The annex building is also very beautiful. The towering trees on both sides of the gate have witnessed the history of the entire Haitian Temple.

A very beautiful manor, the layout is very thoughtful, especially the old tree in the yard. The early summer sun shines through the gaps between the leaves.

The ticket price for Haitiantang Gou + Huang Rongyuan Hall is 80 yuan, free for those over 70 years old, half price for children, no student tickets, so it is recommended that you buy tickets online in advance, about 50-60, very cost-effective. Haitiantang Gou is a very famous building in Gulangyu Island. It is one of the top ten buildings in Gulangyu Island and the only villa building complex on Gulangyu Island that is symmetrically arranged along the central axis. Haitiantang Gou will have a guide to explain to everyone every day. It is best to listen to it, otherwise you will not understand the history, such as why it is a combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles, why the large sculptures on the second floor are inconsistent, etc.

In addition, there are regular puppet shows at the entrance of Haitiantang, which children will love. It is recommended that travelers with children go early and sit in the front so that they can see more clearly.

There are five old villas in Haitiantang, three of which are now open to the public, where you can admire the typical overseas Chinese architectural style and unique courtyards.

By Good mood every day |

Haitiantang is located at No. 38, Fujian Road, Gulangyu Island. It is also an old building on Gulangyu Island. The gate is very spectacular, especially the stone carvings on the top, which are extremely exquisite. However, if you want to visit, you have to spend 88 yuan to buy a ticket, which is quite expensive. The Forbidden City in Beijing is only 60 yuan. But I heard that the ticket price includes the performances inside, some local operas in Xiamen, etc. If this is the case, it is still reasonable.

There are five old villas in Haitiantang, three of which are now open to the public. Among them, No. 34 has been developed into a tasteful Nanyang-style coffee shop, where visitors can experience a leisurely coffee time in the villa of old overseas Chinese; No. 42 has been developed into a performance center for Nanyin and puppets, which are China's intangible cultural heritage. The first floor is a puppet performance center, where the performances of the puppet family are wonderful, and on the second floor, visitors can also enjoy the rare "Imperial Qingqu" Nanyin art performance; No. 38, the main building with the most architectural features, has been developed into the Gulangyu Architecture Art Museum, which mainly displays old villas and the little-known celebrity stories behind them, with a deep nostalgic color.

The performance time is: half-time puppet show, hourly Nanyin show. When we arrived, it was already 15:35, and the puppet show had already started. It was a plot from "Water Margin". It was really wonderful and good to watch. After the show, the main actors came to the front desk to demonstrate how to perform puppet shows. They are really a puppet family, so amazing and professional! ! Little Goldfish wanted to watch more after watching it. At 16:00, we went upstairs to watch the Nanyin performance. It was quite exciting, but I couldn't understand the babbling. The child listened seriously at first, but later became impatient. Although we were very embarrassed, we still left early and went downstairs to grab seats. Then we watched the puppet show at 16:30. If it wasn't the last show, I guess Little Goldfish would have continued to watch it again and again~~ Hehe~ Fortunately, I filmed the whole process of the latter show. After returning to Shanghai, she often asked me to turn on the computer to show her puppet shows~~

Haitiantang is located in the southeast of Gulangyu Island. It is a model of the combination of Chinese and Western styles in an old villa. It has a very retro flavor. Walking in it gives you a feeling of going back in time. It is very cozy and comfortable, and you can feel the cultural charm of China and the West in it. I personally like architecture, especially this kind of retro architecture that combines Chinese and Western culture. Usually, an hour or so is enough for the tour, and the ticket price is 60 yuan. This place will give people a very comfortable feeling, and it is easy for people to melt into these retro styles. This is a must-visit place on Gulangyu Island. Here you can not only see the geometric beauty of Chinese architecture, but also feel the bold atmosphere of the West, which neutralizes this beauty very well.

It would be a pity if you come to Gulangyu Island and don’t visit the old villas. It would be even more of a pity if you visit the old villas and don’t visit Haitiantang.

Today, Haitiantang has been developed into the Gulangyu History and Culture Exhibition Hall, where puppet shows and Nanyin, a special type of opera in southern Fujian, are performed every day. Puppet shows are especially popular with children, so this attraction is especially recommended for guests with children. Highly recommended!

By Wutong Warmth |

The ticket was really expensive. I went to see the puppet show. I just caught the last show. The puppet show was very good, but it was a little short, but it was enough for the children. There are several buildings in Haitian Hall that are quite unique. There are many wedding photos taken outside the yard, all with these buildings as the background.

Haitiantang Gou is highly recommended for the following reasons: it is a living culture, where you can see puppet shows, listen to Nanyin performances, and there are free explanations regularly to introduce the people and events of Gulangyu and the mysterious buildings of various countries. Haitiantang Gou has a unique architectural style and is decorated with exquisite old utensils. Although it is not large, it tells you what happened in Gulangyu. It is recommended to go to Haitiantang Gou as the first stop, and then travel all over Gulangyu to find those people and buildings and appreciate the things of those years. The original price of Haitiantang Gou tickets is 88 yuan/person, student tickets and senior tickets are 45 yuan/person, and 45 yuan/person is booked on Ali Travel.

It consists of five old villas. The middle building is very beautiful, like a palace. I booked a group ticket online last night and found it a good deal because the place is not very big. There is a puppet show in Minnan style. The daily necessities of overseas Chinese in those days are displayed on the middle building. I saw the imported goods in the past - the utensils for making and eating ice cream, and the bottom of the soda bottle is pointed because the bottle cork was made of wood in the past. The bottle was placed horizontally to avoid the pressure from ejecting the cork. Listening to the guide explaining the history of the ancient buildings on Gulangyu Island and the life of the locals, I can imagine that the overseas Chinese in those days lived a wealthy and leisurely life here.

I saw the very famous "Hai Tian Tang Gou", one of the top ten villas in Xiamen. The two places opposite each other are really more magnificent than they look on the Internet. It is a combination of Chinese and Western styles. It is still symmetrically arranged along the central axis. It is said that he gave one of the houses back to his favorite concubine. It only requires tickets, so I didn't go in. I took a look at the door. The old house is really great. It feels like the architecture of southern Fujian pays great attention to the fine carving of the roof. I saw that many Western-style buildings have Chinese-style eaves built on them.

It is worth a visit. The ticket price is 88 yuan. It also includes two intangible cultural heritage performances - Nanyin and puppet show. There are also two half-hour special museum introductions. You can learn about the history of Gulangyu since the Song and Yuan Dynasties, and the history and architecture of Gulangyu in the 1920s and 1930s, as well as some celebrity anecdotes.

Very beautiful and stylish! I can't tell the different attractions apart because I walked through it in a hurry!

Good, very European style, finally watched the show

Haitiantanggou, you must go! This is a large courtyard and old villa of a rich family. It is very unique. You can go and have a look. There will be puppet shows and so on.

Haitiantang is a large house made up of five villas combining Chinese and Western styles. Even if he survived till today, he would definitely be a first-rate local tyrant.

There is a house inside where local puppet shows are performed in rotation. I originally wanted to go in to hide in the shade and take a nap, but I didn't expect the show to be so exciting that I couldn't rest my eyelids for a moment.

Haitiantang, the ticket price is 180, which is too expensive. I didn't go in. There is nothing much. It is just a few villas on the central axis of Gulangyu Island.

Haitiantanggou. The name is beautiful, and the building is beautiful too. The ticket price is 60. I didn't buy the pass, thinking that where you spend money, there must be something good. It is indeed true. The gatehouse is a typical traditional Chinese style, with double eaves, brackets, and flying eaves. The buildings on the front and back sides generally use ancient Greek columns, and the window decorations are mostly Western style, but the walls and corners are Chinese carvings. This is also unique in Gulangyu, where foreign villas are everywhere.

Haitian Temple, a building that boasts of combining Chinese and Western styles, has outrageously expensive tickets. . . . . .

There will be free explanations at the Haitangtang construction site, and you can also enjoy puppet shows and Nanyin performances, which are all characteristics of Xiamen.

Don't go to this place on holidays, as there will be too many people there, which ruins the atmosphere. You should walk slowly and quietly by yourself, exploring all kinds of new things. I think the scenery there is very nice, with quiet paths and quiet places, but I feel it is a bit commercialized.

I think Haitiantang is a place where you can truly appreciate the culture of southern Fujian and the history of overseas Chinese immigration to Xiamen. The puppet show is exquisitely performed, and the Nanyin performance is even more worthy of being an intangible cultural heritage. The old villa introduction exhibition in the main hall is more precisely a microcosm of the life history of overseas Chinese and historical celebrities on Gulangyu Island.

Visit the old house on Gulangyu Island. Haitiantang. Ancient buildings always give people room for imagination. Thanks to a passerby for leaving me this wonderful moment.

If I could live in a place like this for the rest of my life, it would be a very satisfying life.

Haitian Temple is worth a visit. The building is beautiful, and the guide is a little girl, who gives a very good explanation; the glove puppet show is amazing, great~; the Nanyin performance is incomprehensible, haha; Huang Rongyuan Hall, thanks again to the staff there!

There was a very good glove puppet show at the place where Lao Xiaosan lived (if I remember correctly). Sister Ping and I enjoyed watching it very much.

This is one of the top 10 richest places on the island, Haitiantang. You need a ticket to enter, and it's quite expensive, about 80 yuan.

Built in 1921, it is the only villa complex on Gulangyu Island that is symmetrically arranged along the central axis. It consists of a group of five Western-style buildings, and its size is the largest among all villas on Gulangyu Island. The middle building is the most distinctive, "It is a palace, but it is better than a palace; it is a palace, but it is better than a palace; it is neither Chinese nor Western, and it is unusual. The combination of Chinese and Western styles is more attractive." This is also unique on Gulangyu Island.

The "Haitiantang" is a typical architectural landmark on the island. At that time, there were puppet shows inside, which were very interesting.

Haitian Tanggou has Nanyin performances every hour and Minnan puppet show at half past midnight. I couldn't understand a word of the Nanyin, but the puppet show was pretty good, and the actors' hands were super flexible.

You have your history, I have my future, and my future becomes the history he sees later... Uh... What nonsense am I talking about?

Haitiantanggou is definitely worth a visit. You can buy tickets in bulk on Taobao. You can see the non-specific cultural heritage of Nanyin and glove puppetry, and then listen to the tour guide's explanation. Haitiantanggou is also a museum about Gulangyu Island, which allows you to understand a different Gulangyu Island.

The main building of Haitian Temple has a photo exhibition of historical relics. The Western-style building is covered with a Chinese-style hat. It is said that this design was made by overseas Chinese to express a certain emotion. Because overseas Chinese had a low status abroad and suffered from the bullying of Westerners.

The tickets for Haitiantang are too expensive, and there are no student tickets, but the villa style inside is really beautiful~

<I didn’t take many photos at Haitiantang. I just listened to the tour guide talking about history and puppet shows. It was very interesting~

This building is built in a combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles. The gatehouse is a typical traditional Chinese style, with double eaves and arched eaves. The buildings on the front and back sides generally use ancient Greek columns, and the window decorations are mostly Western style, but the walls and corners are Chinese carvings. It was originally a foreign club, and was later purchased by the owner Huang Xiuliang and built into an antique large-roofed palace-style building, built by Putian craftsmen. In Gulangyu, where Western-style villas are everywhere, it has formed its own unique scenery. I seem to see the owner Huang Xiuliang absorbing Western architecture while inheriting the spirit of traditional Chinese culture.

Haitiantanggou is a villa complex consisting of five villas. Among them, Filipino overseas Chinese Huang Xiulang has three villas, and his fellow countryman Huang Nianyi has two villas. This is the only villa complex on Gulangyu Island that can be compared with Huang's Garden. The middle building is the most exquisite building in Haitiantanggou, and it is a famous Chinese and Western building in southern Fujian. The palace-style large roof, double-eaved hip roof, and flower baskets on the railings seem to have more Chinese elements in this building.

Five villas form a closed private residence. The most wonderful building is the middle building, which is a masterpiece of modern Chinese and Western architecture in southern Fujian.

During the period, I went to Haitiantanggou. I booked the ticket online in advance (35 yuan/person), and it seemed to be 60 yuan to buy the ticket on site.

Standing in front of the Guanyin statue, I feel so small...

The glove puppet show is worth seeing. There are many glove puppets in the collection.

There was a Nanyin performance on the second floor. I didn’t understand it very well, so I just listened for a while, but I still couldn’t remember the different instruments. The lead singer was very beautiful~

There is also a cafe in Haitiantang, which is quite romantic.

Haitiantang, the tickets bought on Taobao are half the price of the market price. Haitiantang is pretty good...
