Jimei School Village is one of my favorite attractions in Xiamen

⭐It is not as noisy as Zengcuo'an, nor as crowded as Xiamen University

It has its own typical architectural style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian, and in September 2016, it was selected into the list of "the first batch of Chinese 20th century architectural heritage". It is a gathering place of beautiful tourist attractions, and it also carries Mr. Jiageng's contribution and a strong academic atmosphere. It is really wonderful to walk around in this quiet area in spring.

🙌【Famous attractions】Tan Kah Kee's former residence, Tan Kah Kee Building, Aoyuan are all within walking distance

🚇【Transportation】Take bus 903, 921, 922, 923, etc. and get off at Jimei School Village Station, or Jimei School Village Subway Station

🕜【Time】The former residence of Mr. Tan Kah Kee is open from 6:00 to 20:00 throughout the day

🍃【Food】Shigu Road is full of delicious food, Banyan Tree Shacha is recommended

🏠【Accommodation】Nan Guo Guan Hai is next to Jiageng Park and built by the sea. The B&B is very beautiful and you can feel it more deeply when you stay here

Jimei School Village is a general term for various schools and cultural institutions in this area, founded by overseas Chinese Mr. Tan Kah Kee. The school village is very large, and it would take half a day to visit all the schools, Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall, Aoyuan, etc. The beauty of the Chinese and Western architecture in the school village is actually no less than that of Xiamen University. Since it is located outside the island and far from other popular attractions, there are relatively few tourists. The opening of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 1 has solved the problem of inconvenient transportation, and you can experience the sea rail by the way, killing two birds with one stone.

Exit the Jimei School Village Station on Metro Line 1 and cross the road to see the memorial archway of Jimei School Village. Going up the neat passage, you will see a group of red brick retro-style buildings. You can’t appreciate them without studying architecture, but they are very elegant. The scenery here is beautiful and there are few people, so it is indeed suitable for taking literary (zhuang) and artistic (X) photos.

It is said that except for the Chinese Language College of Huaqiao University, other schools can be visited. We did not verify one by one, but at least the gate of the Chinese Language College was indeed closed, while the gates of other schools were open. We randomly selected the College of Mechanical Engineering of Jimei University and tried to enter, and sure enough, the security guards did not stop us.

Compared with Xiamen University, I personally recommend coming here. Besides seeing the scenery, you can also experience the tranquility, openness and tolerance that a school should have.

I really recommend Jimei University Village. I even think that one day is not enough for that place. My friend and I found two Mobikes and rode 15+km only for a small circle in Jimei. It is really big, but during the Spring Festival, there are few people and the scenery is beautiful. It is a good place to avoid the crowds. And because of the holidays, tickets for Xiamen University are not available at all. But when I went to Jimei University, I felt that it was really huge and good. There are more than 60 basketball hoops alone. . It is so happy to go to school in Jimei! I feel that it is the most surprising attraction of this trip. And you can take campus blockbusters in minutes in the university, wall recommend~ (There is a Wanda opposite the main entrance of Jimei University, where you can eat and so on, which is quite convenient.)

Xiamen University has always been one of the biggest IPs in Xiamen travel, attracting countless outsiders to make pilgrimages every day. With the increasing number of tourists, coupled with the great impact on the school's teaching, Xiamen University has begun to take various measures to restrict the entry and exit of outsiders.

Even if you enter the campus and see the crowds everywhere, will you still have the enthusiasm and impulse to take pictures? In fact, in Jimei District, Xiamen, not far from Xiamen Island, there is also a campus area with the architectural style of Xiamen Jiageng, which has not been discovered by most people - Jimei School Village.

Jimei University Village is home to dozens of schools including Jimei University and Huaqiao University, as well as more than 100,000 teachers and students. Study abroad programs are constantly emerging here, and foreign faces from Europe, America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and other countries can be seen everywhere on the streets.

The Dragon Boat Pond, Jimei Aoyuan and Shigu Road, where students love to find food, are also gathered here. Spend a lunch here to experience this school village, which is much more fulfilling and comfortable than the crowded Xiamen University.

Play index: 4 stars

Play time: 3 hours

Travel guide: The entire Jimei University Village is quite large, and you can walk around aimlessly. Huaqiao University is a small but beautiful university, and it is a good place for vacation and leisure.

I stayed at this internet-famous homestay in Zengcuoan, Siming District. I really liked it and I would like to recommend it to you!

📍Address: No. 347 Zengcuo'an, Sanxia University Kiwi Courtyard 1

I went there because of the Xiamen University student sign.

I am really satisfied after settling down! 🌟

Their public area is very large, and there are many popular photo-taking areas.

Especially suitable for friends who like taking photos📸

The overall color is white with some very comfortable soft furnishings, fresh and simple🍃

In addition, the lady at the homestay also helped us check the routes of Yunshuiyao and Tulou, helped us contact the travel agency, and recommended delicious food. The service level and attitude gave people a very comfortable feeling. 👍👍

Walking into Jimei, there were few people and beautiful scenery. I finally felt relaxed. I wish all tourist places were like this. Wandering around, the students were on vacation, so the shops on the street were basically closed, making it even quieter. We walked and stopped along the way, and it felt really good.

The architecture here is a combination of Chinese and Western styles and has its own style. The children who go to school here are very happy.

There are Jimei Primary School and Jimei Middle School here. Jimei Middle School is known as the most beautiful middle school, which is well deserved. Jimei Education Village, like Xiamen University, was founded by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, and it also has Mr. Tan Kah Kee’s spiritual beliefs.

Although it is recommended to stay in Siming District, you can arrange a half-day or one-day trip to Jimei District according to your interests. This time, we originally only planned to visit Jimei University Village, but we met a group of children who came from Quanzhou to watch the circus. We decided to go to Lingling Circus City to watch the circus and the zoo to see the animals. It turns out that it is worth it. I used to think that circus was just an animal performance, but who knew that there were magic and acrobatics. It was our first time to watch a circus. We had only seen acrobatics in Chongqing Grand Theater before. Next to the circus is the zoo. It was the first time we saw a mother kangaroo with a baby kangaroo in her pouch. We also saw the sloth in "Zootopia". Wow, it's really slow! I was anxious watching it! Let's talk about it in detail. Let's talk about Jimei University Village first. Jimei University Village is the general name for various schools and cultural institutions in Jimei. It is located in Jimei Village on Jimei Peninsula in Xiamen. It was founded by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1913 and is well-known at home and abroad. We came to the Maritime College. The original Jimei School Village includes: Xiamen Fisheries College, Jimei Maritime College, Jimei Normal College, Fujian Institute of Physical Education, Jimei Finance and Economics College (now all merged into Jimei University), Jimei Returned Overseas Chinese Students Tutorial School (Huaqiao University Chinese Language College), Chinese Language and Culture School, Jimei Middle School, Jimei Primary School, Jimei Kindergarten and other schools, as well as Funan Assembly Hall, Library, Gymnasium, Concert Hall, Dragon Boat Pool, Sailing Club and other facilities. Jimei School Village is not only a place of natural beauty, but also a tourist scenic spot that gathers many beauties. Its architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles, reflecting the typical architectural style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian. Dragon boat races are often held in the dragon boat pool in the school village during holidays. The sound of drums and music, the melodious southern music, and the bustling voices have turned the usually quiet campus into a sea of joy. Jimei School Village has also become a hot spot for Xiamen tourism. Because some students were studying on their own, we did not enter the classroom.

Jimei School Village is located in Jimei District in the north of the island. The primary school, middle school and university are all together. The architecture here is a typical Nanyang overseas Chinese style, a combination of Chinese and Western styles. The core attraction here is Aoyuan, which is the cemetery of Tan Kah Kee, and there are many stone sculptures in it. The whole area is fresh and clean, and there are not so many tourists, so it is very convenient to eat and play.

Jimei University is located outside the main island of Xiamen. The subway was opened at the end of last year and can be directly reached. The subway passes through the sea before reaching Jimei University Station. It is a true sea view subway. At the same time, Jimei University is really my favorite university in terms of architectural style. I really love the old streets around the university that still retain their original flavor.

Under the bridge just outside Jimei School Village Station, fishermen still keep the custom of fishing.

The various small streets in Jimei School Village also have their own unique flavor.

Jimei University Village is an area where several universities in Xiamen are concentrated, and it also includes various living facilities in the surrounding area. It can be regarded as a small city within the city. I have heard about the story of Jimei University and Tan Kah Kee before. Mr. Tan was a local who grew up here. Under his care, this land was a peaceful pure land during the years of warlords. Today, the lush campus is dotted with various traditional-style buildings. The Tan Kah Kee spirit created it, and it must have taken root and been passed down to future generations.

By Leather Hill |

Jimei School Village is famous all over the world not only for its beautiful scenery and historical heritage, but more importantly, it benefits from the patriotic overseas Chinese, Mr. Tan Kah Kee.

Mr. Tan Kah Kee's lifelong contribution to education is Xiamen University and Jimei Education Village. As a result, Jimei has been transformed from an unknown small fishing village into an academic village with a strong cultural atmosphere.

From Xiamen Island to Jimei University Village, it is convenient and fast to take Metro Line 1. What surprised me was the spacious and majestic bridge, the blue and tranquil sea, and the seagulls flying by from time to time. I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to take pictures.

Jimei School Village has a history of more than 90 years. In addition to Jimei University, it also covers kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools and universities. It has everything you need, no wonder it is called a school village.

It is said that when Jimei University Village was being built, materials were in short supply, so Mr. Jiageng simply used red clay to make tiles.

The red clay is taken locally and the material is cheap, but the effect is very good and it is strong and durable. Therefore, there are not only Jiageng buildings, but also Jiageng tiles.

Tips It is recommended to spend a day to visit Jimei School Village, Jiageng's Former Residence and Jiageng Park together.

By Still wanting more |

Jimei School Village was founded by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. It is a general term for all kinds of schools in Jimei District. During the epidemic prevention and control period, Xiamen University was closed, so visiting Jimei School Village was also a way to make up for it.

By Bai Xubo |

Jimei University Village is the origin of Mr. Jiageng's education and the most concentrated place. Xiamen University began to make an appointment to enter the school from the end of 2018. If you accidentally miss the appointment, Jimei University Village is a must. The buildings here, such as Nanxun Building and Daonan Building, are also a model of a group of Jiageng-style buildings built in the 1950s, realizing the perfect combination of Chinese-style large roofs and fine decorations with Western-style high-rise buildings. If the time is right, the dragon boat pool in front of Daonan Building is full of water, and there are beautiful reflections. In addition, Jimei University Village as a whole presents a natural integration of schools and communities. The buildings that carry different schools at that time are not enclosed in a self-contained campus like today's universities, but are naturally integrated with the surrounding residential houses. Today, they continue to be used as several colleges of Jimei University, Jimei Middle School, Jimei Kindergarten, etc. In particular, the most beautiful Nanxun Building and Daonan Building are used by Jimei Middle School. I really envy the students who can enjoy such a beautiful campus.

Official Introduction

Jimei University Village was founded by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee

It is a general term for various schools and cultural institutions in Jimei District.

The building integrates Chinese and Western styles

Among them, the Daonan Building of Jimei Middle School and the Nanxun Building of Jimei Overseas Chinese School have unique styles and are very ornamental.

Popular attractions in the school village include Aoyuan, Dragon Boat Pond, Tan Kah Kee's Former Residence, Kah Kee Park, etc., which can be visited on foot.

I originally planned to go to the B&B to drop off my luggage and then stroll around Zhongshan Road.

I found out that Jimei University Village is not far from the airport.

Checked the travel options

Take the high-speed rail north station airport bus direction and you will arrive at Gaoqi Bus Station in 10 minutes

After getting off the bus, take the subway for one stop. After a person finishes mumbling to himself, let's go.

It is always inconvenient to carry luggage. After arriving at Gaoqi Bus Station, you can store your luggage here.

3-4 hours, charge 20 yuan

Well, perfect, travel light~~~

Jimei School Village was founded by Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1913. It has a very comprehensive talent training system from preschool education to elementary school, junior high school and high school, from undergraduate to master's and doctoral education. It is said that when Mr. Tan Kah Kee founded the school, he proposed that "all local materials should be produced locally as much as possible" in the selection of materials and labor. Therefore, its architecture presents the traditional Minnan style of swallowtail ridges, red brick walls and Western-style high stone columns and flower window frames, realizing the combination of national style and modern functional structure.

By Lin Yexian |

It feels like there are not many people here. Apart from the local residents, there are no tourists. Those who like quietness can come here.

By Apple Pear Banana |

My first impression after getting off the subway was that compared to Xiamen Siming District, this place is vast and sparsely populated, with wide roads, clean streets, and red-roofed buildings, giving people a comfortable feeling.

Although this place is a bit far from the sea, there are flocks of egrets and countless dragonflies by the lake, creating a beautiful wetland scenery. It can be said that this place is quite livable.

By Yang Xiaonv |

Jimei University Village is where Mr. Tan Kah Kee started to support education. The former school is still there, and the concept of promoting education is still there. Walking in it, I was attracted by the architecture. The architectural style is unique, which is called Tan Kah Kee-style architecture. The architectural features are a combination of Chinese and Western, or a combination of Chinese and foreign, showing national characteristics. I think that people who have traveled abroad will try their best to reflect national characteristics and cherish their good deeds in China. Jimei University Village is very large. Walking around, I saw the passing girls' school, the memorial garden in the distance, and the sound of dragon boat races in the dragon boat pool.

By Nagashino |

A relatively famous attraction, it is a collection of a bunch of small attractions, each with its own unique architecture

By Cang Lan |

There are not many people in Jimei University Village, probably because the school has not started yet. There are many colleges in Jimei University, and it is quite laborious to visit all of them. I mainly recommend the main campus of Jimei University, which has beautiful buildings and a beautiful environment.

By cowboy |

It's just an ordinary university. If you want to talk about historical buildings, which university in any province in China doesn't have some nice buildings? I found that the university in Xiamen loves to hype itself up online. Let's cut to the chase and show you the pictures. If you think this university has anything special to offer, there are many universities in China that are better looking than this one.

Blue sky and white clouds, free clouds and wild cranes, few pedestrians on the road, what a beautiful picture~~

By Dream Kite 1968 |

Jimei is a really beautiful place. Every time I come to Xiamen, I have to come here for a walk, although the environment has not changed much. This time, Jimei has built many new university campuses, the bookish atmosphere is stronger, and there are more young and energetic faces on the streets.

By China-TravelNote users |

There are many snack bars and coffee shops here. The lava buns are delicious, the lemon tea is also of touching quality. In the morning, I ate the local specialty meat dumplings. Jimei is not very big, and you can solve the travel problem by riding a bicycle. The buildings in Jimei School Village are not worse than those of Xiamen University, but they are smaller and more scattered. In addition, you need to cross the sea, so there are few tourists even during the Qingming Festival. You can avoid the crowds and walk freely.

By A stray cat |

The architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles. The Daonan Building of Jimei Middle School and the Nanxun Building of Jimei Overseas Chinese School are unique in style and highly ornamental. Popular attractions in the school village include Aoyuan, Dragon Boat Pond, Tan Kah Kee's Former Residence, and Kah Kee Park, which can be visited on foot. Compared with other attractions in Xiamen, Jimei School Village is much quieter, like a painting, without a trace of noise and disturbance. It is the most pleasant to walk slowly with your loved one, ride a bicycle, feel the wind blowing gently on your cheeks and hair, and watch the sunset gradually dye the sky red.

There is no bustling noise like Xiamen University, and it is peaceful and beautiful here. Especially in Jimei Middle School, the architecture here will make you feel bright (Jimei Middle School is not open to the public, and you need to be led by someone you know). The architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles, reflecting the typical architectural style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian. Whether it is the tall and magnificent school buildings or the small and elegant pavilions and corridors, all of them are glazed roofs, dragon ridges and phoenix eaves, carved beams and painted buildings. This is the "Tia Kee style".

If you take a casual stroll in Jimei University Village, you will find scenery at every step. In fact, Jimei University Village is also the filming location for many movies and TV series. Walking here can remind people of the little happiness in college days.

Jimei School Village was founded by patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. The building across the lake seems to be a library or a teaching building.

There were young men and women riding bicycles by the lake. How happy it is to study in such an environment. I really envy them. The afternoon sun was really hot. Maybe because I was rushing all the way, I didn’t have much mood to see the attractions.

Jimei School Village is really a place whose name is as good as its name. There are many beautiful scenes here. The pleasant scenery is a good place for taking pictures and playing. Compared with other scenic spots in Xiamen, it is much quieter and more comfortable here. The whole scenic area is built by the sea, and the environment is quiet, elegant and fresh. I like to sit by the dragon boat pond, blowing the leisurely wind and looking at the unique Chinese and Western buildings opposite. It has a unique style. Along the way, I heard many tour guides explain Mr. Tan Kah Kee’s extraordinary life and his contribution to Xiamen’s education. Let me admire him from the bottom of my heart. He is indeed worthy of the title of "Overseas Chinese Flag, National Glory". The dragon boat pond in Jimei School Village is beautiful!

Jimei School Village is across the sea from Xiamen Island. You can enter Jimei School Village from Xiamen City by getting off the Xiamen Bridge. It is not only a place of natural beauty, but also a tourist attraction that gathers all the beauty. It was founded in 1913 by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is well-known at home and abroad. Its architecture combines Chinese and Western styles, reflecting the typical architectural style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian. The representative Nanxun Building was the tallest building in Fujian Province for a long time.

Jimei University Village is very large, and it takes at least a day to walk there. There are several places that charge admission fees, such as Jiageng Park, Aoyuan, Mr. Tan Kah Kee's Former Residence, and Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall. It is recommended to buy tickets online. The package ticket is 24 yuan, which is definitely cheaper than buying it on site. It seems that it is no longer charged now!

Xiamen's university town Jimei University Village is worth a visit. Jimei University Village has the well-known Huaqiao University, Jimei University, etc. It is full of academic atmosphere. If you catch up with the students when they go to school, it must be very lively here. But when we went there, it was unfortunate that the students were on vacation, so many small shops were closed. After strolling around the village, we went to the Tan Kah Kee Gymnasium that my sister mentioned.

I heard that many celebrities who come to Xiamen for concerts will choose this place. The exterior of the building is also very imposing, but I couldn’t get in, so I just looked at it from the outside and left.

There are not many tourists here. The "village" is full of local students, teachers and residents. I walked and cycled around, but found that it was not worth seeing. Before coming here, I saw on the Internet that Jimei University Village was more beautiful than Xiamen University. I checked the eye hospital and found that it was obviously ten times worse than Xiamen University. It was at most a relatively good-looking community. The street environment was not good, and there were broken shared bicycles piled up everywhere.

Jimei University Village is very large, but half a day is enough to see the highlights. If you don't want to walk (it's a bit tiring), you can rent a tricycle for about 100 yuan. But I still think walking is better, you can control your own time and enjoy yourself!

Jimei University Village, the scenery is beautiful, free to visit, the explanation is very interesting

Jimei University Village is a good place to go on a bicycle on a sunny day. The scenery of Jimei University is no worse than that of Xiamen University, and Jimei Middle School is even more beautiful! Compared with Xiamen Island, Jimei has fewer tourists, so it is definitely a good place for vacation and leisure.

The overall architectural style is a combination of Chinese and Western styles, presenting the typical style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian.

The entire scenic area is close to the sea, with a quiet and elegant environment and a fresh atmosphere. Visiting the former residence and memorial hall can help you understand Mr. Tan Kah Kee's extraordinary life. He deserves the title of "the banner of overseas Chinese and the glory of the nation".

Compared with other scenic spots in Xiamen, Jimei Art Village is much quieter, like a painting, without any noise or disturbance. It is the most pleasant to walk slowly or ride a bicycle with your loved one, feel the wind blowing gently on your cheeks and hair, and watch the sunset gradually dye the sky red.

From Zhongshan Park subway station, take Line 1 to Jimei University Village, then take a bus to Jimei District Government. The subway will pass by the sea while driving, which is worth experiencing. There are various schools near Jimei University Village, and many TV dramas are filmed there.

There are many universities around Jimei University Village, and there are quite a lot of snack streets. Recommended: Benshui Vermicelli Duck (filmed here during the Summer Solstice, the taste is very good), Morishan Roasted Grass Jelly (Xiamen is also worth a visit for this bowl of grass jelly), Fuding Meat Slices, Roasted Milk~

Jimei School Village is a general term for various schools and cultural institutions in this area. It was founded by overseas Chinese Mr. Tan Kah Kee. The school village is very large. If you want to visit all the schools, the Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall, the Aoyuan Dragon Boat Pool, etc., it will take you half a day. After getting off the subway, the Jimei School Village archway is across the road. The best way to visit Jimei must be to ride a bike. Scan the code to pick up a bike, follow the archway up along Jiageng Road, and pass by many schools. The buildings have their own characteristics. Among them, the site of Jimei Middle School is more tall and majestic. Take a telephoto near the dragon boat pool. In fact, the best effect picture comes from the lights at night, so I took a detour later.

Jimei Art Village has unique architecture and includes various schools including primary schools, middle schools and universities as well as Aoyuan, Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall and Jimei Liberation Monument, all of which are open to the public free of charge.

Some streets in Jimei School Village are filled with the smell of "stinking ditch", and the dragon boat pond next to it is in a semi-dried state, emitting a fishy smell under the scorching sun.

But in general, Jimei School Village is a very quiet, cultural, stylish and flavorful place in Xiamen.

It is necessary to understand its architectural style and pay tribute to Mr. Tan Kah Kee and the predecessors who have worked hard for cultural education.

Jimei Art Village is a very peaceful and comfortable place. The tour guide said that you can hear piano sounds everywhere here, and this is the place with the most pianos. A movie called "First Time" shot by Mark Chao and Angelababy was filmed here. The environment here is pretty good and very suitable for taking a walk.

It's a bit remote, and there aren't many tourists during the peak season. There are some beautiful old houses, and no tickets are required.

It is a university village with beautiful scenery, very clean and sparsely populated.

Compared with the attractions in Xiamen city, there are a lot fewer people.

Jimei School Village is also very distinctive.

I went there in September, when it was still quite hot and I got quite tanned. There is a university village over there. If you want to go there for fun, I suggest you take a local tricycle for 60 RMB. They will take you around the whole Jimei University Village and there is no time limit. They will collect money after you finish. They will also explain the history of Jimei University Village to you one by one, which is pretty good.

I thought there wouldn't be a lot of people. The first time I traveled to Xiamen, I was shocked by the crowds. I didn't expect that I didn't want to go out at all when I was studying in Xiamen. Fortunately, there weren't too many people, much better than on the island.

The second day after Xiamen Metro opened, I took the subway directly to the village. It was very convenient. The surrounding sea view is also good, and you can stand on the shore and feel the sea breeze. It is very quiet. The village is next to the university, and the student atmosphere is good.

It is beautiful when you look closely. The building designed by Mr. Tan Kah Kee is beautiful!

The Tan Kah Kee-style Chinese-Western architecture is magnificent and gorgeous. Daonan Building and Nanxun Building each have their own characteristics and look pleasing to the eye. There is also a Li Lin Garden, which commemorates the anti-Japanese heroine Li Lin. I didn't expect it to be here!

Jimei University Village on Jimei Peninsula, across the sea from Xiamen Island, is the general name for various schools and cultural institutions in Jimei. It was founded by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1913 and is well-known at home and abroad. In addition to the rich cultural atmosphere here, its architectural features are another attraction. Its architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles, reflecting the typical architectural style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian. It was selected into the list of "the first batch of Chinese 20th century architectural heritage". The representative Nanxun Building was the tallest building in Fujian Province for a long time. By the way, the pineapples here are delicious and cheap!

I've always wanted to come, but I don't think it's that great. If I'm short on time, I can give it up.

Jimei School Village is the general name for all kinds of schools and cultural institutions in Jimei. It is located in Jimei Village on the Jimei Peninsula in Xiamen. It was founded by the famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1913 and is well-known at home and abroad. The total construction area of the school village is more than 3,000 acres, with more than 100,000 teachers and students in school, forming a talent training system from preschool education to elementary school, junior high school and high school, from undergraduate education to master's and doctoral education. The original Jimei School Village includes: Xiamen Fisheries College, Jimei Maritime College, Jimei Normal College, Fujian Institute of Physical Education, Jimei Finance and Economics College (now all merged into Jimei University), Jimei Returned Overseas Chinese Students Tutorial School (Huaqiao University Chinese Language College), Chinese Language and Culture School, Jimei Middle School, Jimei Primary School, Jimei Kindergarten and other schools, as well as Funan Assembly Hall, Library, Gymnasium, Concert Hall, Dragon Boat Pool, Sailing Club and other facilities. It is not only a place of natural beauty, but also a tourist scenic spot that gathers all the beauty. Its architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles, reflecting the typical architectural style of the overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian. Dragon boat races are often held in the dragon boat pool in the school village during holidays. The sound of drums and music, the melodious southern music, and the bustling voices turn the usually quiet campus into a sea of joy. Jimei School Village has become a hot spot for tourism in Xiamen. In September 2016, Jimei School Village was selected into the list of "the first batch of Chinese 20th Century Architectural Heritage".

Jimei School Village is also a very distinctive place, with a structure that combines Chinese and Western styles and a typical southern Fujian overseas Chinese architectural style.

Recommendation index: 4 stars (it could have been 4.5 stars but it is located in Jimei, which is a bit far from other attractions)

The Dragon Boat Pond is located under the Xiamen Bridge. The author lives nearby and often wanders around here with his wife at night. There are many schools here, so you can walk around the campus and reminisce about your student days.

I took a bus from Xiamen University to Jimei in the afternoon and got off at Jimei Taxation Office. I was alone and successfully lost my way again. After walking for an hour and a half, I finally found it. But I was so thirsty that I almost fainted... The buildings in Jimei University Village are very unique, but the weather was too hot. Later, when I took the bus back, I realized that I had lost my way and took a big detour... I am such a pig

The night is still beautiful, the campus is quiet and there are few tourists.
