Wulao Peak is located on the five hills behind Nanputuo Temple, also known as the back mountain of Nanputuo Temple.
The five hills are sometimes surrounded by white clouds, and the jungle under the clouds is lush and green, like long beards. From a distance, it looks like five old men with white hair and beards who have experienced the vicissitudes of life, looking up at the vast sea. This is the "Five Old Men Lingxiao" scenic spot, one of the eight major scenic spots in Xiamen.
It takes about half an hour to one hour to walk from the foot of the mountain to the top. There are many viewing platforms along the way, where you can see the panoramic view of Xiamen and take photos. At the highest point, you can see all the buildings of Xiamen University and Gulangyu Island.
If you go to Wulao Peak from Xiamen Botanical Garden, you need to pay the entrance fee of the Botanical Garden; but if you go from Nanputuo Temple, it is free.

Wulao Peak
The Five Old Man Peaks are located on the five hills behind Nanputuo Temple. They are towering and sometimes surrounded by white clouds. Under the clouds, the forest is lush and green, like long beards. From a distance, they look like five old men with white hair and beards who have experienced the vicissitudes of life, looking up at the vast sea. This is the "Five Old Man Lingxiao" scenic spot, one of the eight major scenic spots in Xiamen.
It is located behind Nanputuo Temple, with five hills, hence the name.
Located on the back mountain of Nanputuo Temple, it leads to the botanical garden. There was fog on the mountain when I went there last time.
After visiting the temple, you can climb up the back mountain to the top of Wulao Peak, where you can see the Yanwu Bridge and the panoramic view of Xiamen University.
The highest observation deck is blocked by plants, and you can hardly see the sea and Xiamen University campus, but the bougainvillea is still beautiful. In terms of viewing, it is not as good as the observation deck below.
It's a great feeling to overlook Xiamen from the top of the peak! Although it's tiring to climb up, it's worth it!
What is worth visiting in Nanputuo Temple is not only the temple itself, but also the Wulao Peak behind it.
If you want to climb to the top of Wulao Peak, you need to pay for the ticket to the botanical garden.
Although it was a pity that I didn't reach the top, the view halfway up the mountain was pretty good. You can also overlook the Xiamen University campus and the World Trade Center Tower in the distance.
Although the hill doesn’t look high, it is very tiring to climb. But the moment you reach the top and see the scenery below, your heart is filled with joy!
It is said that you can see the whole view of Xiamen and even Gulangyu Island from Wulao Peak. I climbed the mountain with such a vision (but the mountain is quite high). Although there was no scorching sun, the air pressure in the city, which had not even had a rainstorm, was really hot and stuffy.
So after staying on the platform ten minutes away from the top of Wulao Peak for a while, we went straight down the mountain.
Follow the steps, it's very high, it took about 45 minutes to go up, but it was very tiring, I was panting all the way. There were many people climbing on the road, both old and young, and seeing them gave me the strength to continue climbing. Although it was very tiring on the way, it was very beautiful to climb to the top, there was a feeling of sudden enlightenment, the scenery on the top was very beautiful, looking at the sea view, blowing the breeze, it was very comfortable. You can go down the mountain from the botanical garden instead of going up the mountain.
I personally tested that the scenery at the top of the mountain is not the most beautiful. For Wulao Peak, you can only see a relatively complete Xiamen University by stopping at the largest viewing platform halfway up the mountain. The mountain at the top of the mountain is too flat, and all the scenery is blocked by trees.
The exit of the botanical garden is located above Wulao Peak, which is connected to Nanputuo Temple. At the highest point of the mountain, you can see the whole view of Shimao Straits Building. There is a rest pavilion here, and many people sit there and quietly enjoy the scenery in front of them.
Nanputuo, in fact, for an atheist like me, is just an ancient cultural relic building. It is good to go and have a look.
You can overlook Xiamen University, see the sea, and watch the sunset. The mountain is not high, so I recommend going there.
There is a big rock almost up the mountain behind Nanputuo Temple.
It feels like climbing Wulao Peak requires a certain amount of physical strength. There will be signposts along the way to remind everyone how many meters to the top. I think I am still physically fit, but I will still be out of breath after climbing up. On the halfway up the mountain, on a platform about to reach the top, many people are resting and taking pictures. The most important significance of climbing Wulao Peak is that you can see the panoramic view of Xiamen. Then, with the determination to reach the top since I came here, I climbed for another 10 minutes to the top, and found that the scenery I saw was actually not as good as what I saw on the platform. So if you are already tired after reaching the platform, you can choose to go down the mountain, because you have already seen the most beautiful scenery.
Wulao Peak is located on the five hills behind Nanputuo Temple. It is towering and sometimes surrounded by white clouds. Under the clouds, the forest is lush and green, like long beards. From a distance, it looks like five old men with white hair and beards who have experienced the vicissitudes of life, looking up at the vast sea. This is the "Five Old Men Lingxiao" scenic spot, one of the eight major scenic spots in Xiamen. Wulao Peak is 184.8 meters above sea level and it usually takes one hour to reach the top.
If you climb the steps from the back of the Sutra Library, you will see the three characters "Wulao Peak" engraved on the hillside, and a particularly large character "Buddha" engraved on the huge rock in front of you, which is more than 4 meters high and more than 3 meters wide. The strokes are full and powerful, rough and bold, as if it was written in one stroke. This was written by Monk Zhenhui during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1905). It attracts many believers to come here to burn incense and kowtow.
The scenery at the top of the mountain is very good, with a wide field of vision. You can see most of Xiamen, and the Xiamen landmark is really conspicuous. The road to climb the mountain is relatively safe, and there are certain protective measures on the top of the mountain.
It's not very high, but it's worth climbing. You can see the scenery of Xiamen and breathe the fresh air when you reach the top.
The peak is only about 180 meters high and it only takes about half an hour to reach the top. However, due to the high humidity in Xiamen, you will sweat profusely after climbing for a few minutes, which is very uncomfortable. It was very foggy that day, so we couldn't see the sea clearly after reaching the peak, which was a bit disappointing. Of course, you can overlook the temple and Xiamen University from Wulao Peak.
Xiamen Wulao Peak is the five peaks behind Nanputuo Mountain. Standing on the Wulao Peak, you can overlook the Baisha and other scenic spots below.
It's not very high, you can climb to the top and overlook the whole Xiamen, the view is great. But... I didn't climb to the top.
You must climb Wulao Peak, which is connected to the temple! The scenery of Xiamen city is infinitely beautiful!
Climbing up from Nanputuo Temple, you will reach Wulao Peak on the top of the mountain, where you can overlook the entire Xiamen University. Walking further will lead you to the botanical garden.
Behind the Sutra Library of Nanputuo Temple is the back mountain of the temple - Wulao Peak. The mountain is named Wulao Peak because it has five peaks, towering into the sky, with white clouds sometimes lingering around it, and the jungle under the clouds is lush and green, vaguely like a long beard. The mountain is full of calligraphy works by famous masters. If the weather is good, you can climb the mountain and have a distant view.
Welcome to visit my home: http://www.mafengwo.cn/u/shushengyiqi.html
Refer to my travel notes: The most fascinating place in my life, Huizhou (Jixi Shangzhuang, Longchuan, Huihang Ancient Road, Zhanshan Grand Canyon, Jiapeng, Xiamen)
Climbing up Wulao Peak, you can have a panoramic view of the entire Xiamen University, including the sea and the beach in the distance. The scenery is very beautiful. There is also an APP called "Mountain Climbing Fun" on the top of the mountain that can tell you your height, which is very interesting.
It is also called Wulao Mountain. The Wulao Peak behind Nanputuo Temple stands upright on the seashore. The mountain is not high, but it is very tiring to climb. The environment on the mountain is also very good, the air is fresh, and it is a very nice and quiet place. I always go there in the off-season. Although there are still many people, it is a beautiful mountain with complete infrastructure. No tickets are required. The mountain is not high and basic athletes can reach the top of the mountain in a few minutes. However, the lactic acid secretion is also sour the next day after climbing. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking at the beautiful scenery of Xiamen in the distance makes people feel very cheerful and comfortable. Xiamen is really a beautiful city. If you like climbing mountains, this one should make you feel a sudden stop and not enough, but if you want to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Xiamen from a high place, it is a good place
Wulao Peak is located inside Nanputuo Temple. It is not high and it doesn’t take much effort to climb up in high heels. It takes about half an hour to reach the top of the mountain!
After entering Nanputuo, we went straight to the point and started climbing Wulao Peak. Wulao Peak is the back mountain of Nanputuo. After entering the gate, we followed the crowd and started climbing. Wulao Peak is not high in altitude. It takes about an hour and a half to climb up. Girls should not wear slippers like me. It was so tiring. When I went up the mountain, I saw many girls wearing slippers and high heels took off their shoes and walked down the mountain barefoot.
When we were almost at the top of the mountain, we stopped to rest. We could already vaguely see the panoramic view of Xiamen. But the weather was bad that day, and it was foggy, so we couldn't see the sea clearly.
If you have time, you can go and have a look. You can overlook the Xiamen University area. Climb the mountain and exercise.
Take the bus to Xiamen University West Village and follow the crowd to Nanputuo. For non-Buddhists like us, there are only two purposes for Nanputuo: buying vegetarian cakes and climbing Wulao Peak. You can get incense for free at the entrance of the temple, but we didn't get it and went directly to Wulao Peak. The whole mountain is not high at all, the scenery on the mountain is beautiful, and you can also overlook Xiamen. But for someone like me who has been lacking exercise recently, can't climb up the mountain, and is afraid to go down the mountain, this height is still a bit challenging. I miss the time when I climbed to the halfway point of Huashan without taking a breath!
There is a temple behind Nanputuo Mountain, which is nice. You can also see the scenery of Xiamen when you climb to the top of the mountain.
Going up to Putuo Temple is Wulao Peak. There is also a restaurant inside Putuo Temple. If you have enough time, it is recommended to spend a day there to have fun.
Come here for it, one of the best vantage points for photographing Xiamen.
After getting used to the city, it's nice to come here for a stroll.
It took about 40 minutes to climb to the top of the mountain. The road is actually quite difficult to walk on, but the scenery at the top is really good. If you are not in a hurry, it is recommended to climb up slowly to enjoy the scenery.
Wulao Peak is located in Nanputuo Temple, and the entrance fee is free (you can also go there from the Botanical Garden, but the entrance fee to the Botanical Garden is 40 yuan). Wulao Peak is not difficult to climb, and it takes about an hour to reach the top. The higher you go, the more beautiful the scenery becomes. From the mountain, you can overlook the panoramic view of Xiamen University and the entire city of Xiamen, and you can also see the long coastline. The scenery is superb. (PS: There seem to be fewer toilets and shops on the mountain, so it is best to prepare in advance if you need them.)
Leaving the sand plant area, we headed south through the vine colorful shrub area. Before we knew it, we had reached the foot of Wulao Peak. To the south of Wanshi Mountain is the back mountain of Wulao Peak, and in front of Wulao Peak is Nanputuo Temple. It doesn't take much effort to climb Wulao Peak from here. Climb up Wulao Peak and look around. Behind you are the beautiful scenery of Wanshi and the city of Xiamen in the distance; in front of you is Nanputuo Temple shaded by lush pines and bamboos; beyond Nanputuo Temple, the campus of Xiamen University and the silvery white beach are clearly visible; looking further into the distance, the seaside avenue around the island is like a string of bright pearls surrounding Xiamen; across the dotted sails of Lujiang River, the poetic and picturesque scenery of Gulangyu Island is in full view.
Wulao Peak is located in the same place as Nanputuo Temple. It is located on the five hills behind Nanputuo Temple. It is towering and sometimes surrounded by white clouds. Under the clouds, the jungle is lush and looks like long beards. From a distance, it looks like five old men with white hair and beards who have experienced the vicissitudes of life, looking up at the vast sea. This is the "Five Old Men Lingxiao" scenic spot, one of the eight major scenic spots in Xiamen. Wulao Peak is 184.8 meters above sea level. It usually takes one hour to reach the top.
Wulao Peak is quite high and I was sweating when I climbed up it, but the scenery is really good. I can see Xiamen University and the bay in the distance.
Wulao Peak is just behind Nanputuo Temple. There is no entrance fee, and tourists can climb the mountain directly from the back of the temple. Wulao Peak is not very high, and the road is full of steps and winding paths. Some places are very narrow. When people going up and down meet, one of them always has to wait for the other person to pass by before going on.
It took about 40 minutes to get from the bottom of the mountain to the top. Although the time is not long, it is very tiring. If you are not very physically fit, there is a platform halfway up the mountain. You can just climb there. Looking down from the viewing platforms on the top and halfway up the mountain, the scenery is excellent. You can see the city scenery of Xiamen within a 180-degree range. The red-roofed buildings at the foot of the mountain are said to be the famous Xiamen University. In the distance, the sea and the sky are one color, and you can also see the islands on the sea. Seeing such a beautiful scenery, it feels that it is worth it to climb up Wulao Peak so hard.
It takes about an hour and a half to climb Wulao Peak. Wulao Lingxiao is famous for its tall and straight beauty. The mountain is covered with dense forests, jagged rocks, deep caves, and clear rock springs winding through winding paths. Go straight to the top of the pavilion, look out into the deep sea and sky, the blue waves are rippling, and huge ships and light boats are coming and going. Look around the new look of Ludao, which is shaded by green trees and towering buildings. Looking down at your feet, Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen University, Zengcuo'an are all in sight, and Fanyu Lin Palace emerges in the misty clouds, as if you are in the Penglai Fairy Pavilion, floating like an immortal, with endless fun.
The mountain road is not steep, just walk along the stairs like climbing stairs
It is said to be the highest peak in Xiamen. Standing on the top, you can have a panoramic view of the whole Xiamen, and overlook Gulangyu Island and Kinmen Island in the distance.
Climb to the top of the mountain and enjoy the great view
Going up from Nanputuo Temple is Wulao Peak. If you go to Wulao Peak alone, you need to pay a ticket, but it is free if you enter from Putuo Temple. I have to say that Wulao Peak is the most beautiful mountain I have ever climbed. The whole mountain is full of bougainvillea, and it looks like a flower mountain.
Many people visit Nanputuo, but few climb Wulao Peak. You can see the blue sky, white clouds, sea and the panoramic view of Xiamen University, which is surrounded by mountains and rivers. Only when you come here can you truly understand why Xiamen University is the most beautiful campus in China. The mountain is not high, and the road is a little steep in some places. I used to be able to climb to the top in one breath.
It's so tiring to climb up. It's free, but you can only see the panoramic view of Xiamen University from the top. There are no other features. It takes 1 hour to climb up. It's very dry.
Located behind Nanputuo Temple, it overlooks the entire Xiamen seaside and is a must-see attraction!
Wulao Peak is located behind Nanputuo Temple. It is the back mountain of Nanputuo Temple. Nanputuo Temple does not charge admission, so you must climb Wulao Peak when you arrive at Nanputuo Temple. Wulao Peak is a bit steep, and it still takes some physical strength to climb Wulao Peak. However, you can see some historical moments on Wulao Peak, and you can overlook Xiamen University when you climb to the top of Wulao Peak. There is a small shop at the foot of Wulao Peak, and stalls are not allowed on the mountain, so you must prepare enough dry food to climb to the top, especially enough water. There is no toilet on the mountain, so be prepared before climbing.
The altitude of Wulao Peak is less than 200 meters, but because the weather was too hot and humid, we were sweating every time we walked, so we had to give up halfway up the mountain. We took a photo halfway up the mountain. The scenery was really good. It is said that you can see the whole view of Xiamen from the top of the mountain.
Wulao Peak is regarded as the backyard of Putuo Temple. There are many strange rocks and tree roots on the mountain. It is really interesting to walk among them. The top of the mountain is actually not high, but the view is unique.
Later, I personally experienced it and confirmed that it is really beautiful! Please be sure to grit your teeth and climb to the top. If the weather is clear and the sun comes out, it will be beautiful. I look at it from here. It's all gray and it's like this. What's more, when the sky is clear,
There is a Wulao Peak above Nanputuo. You can climb it. When I read the guide, I saw that it is not high. I did not prepare any food or drinks. I know it after I experienced it myself. Damn. What does it mean to be not high? I wanted to give up three times on the way. I persevered and finally climbed up. In the words of my best friend, the scenery above is not as tempting as the tea eggs in the store above. I comforted her and said that this is the original taste. Haha. Although I don’t really believe it. But it’s still worth climbing.
You can see the whole view of Xiamen University by climbing Wulao Peak on the back mountain. But it is really tiring. I went there several times. The highest one I climbed was so tiring that I could only vaguely see the main building of Xiamen University. It takes about 40 to 50 minutes to climb to the top. Going down the mountain is even more tiring. You can decide whether to climb the back mountain according to your schedule and time.
Wulao Peak is not high, but you can see the panoramic view of Xiamen University from it. The tall Song'en Building is particularly eye-catching, and Gulangyu Island in the distance can also be seen.
We climbed the Wulao Peak behind the temple. The top of the peak was ordinary, but the view from the viewpoints along the way was very broad, with Gulangyu Island and Xiamen University in full view. Wulao Peak is 180 meters above sea level and it is not difficult to climb.
It takes about 1-2 hours to visit Wulao Peak (including going up and down the mountain).
Because we climbed early, there were not many people, but there were a lot of mosquitoes. When we got down the mountain, each of us had more than a dozen mosquitoes on our bodies. There were many pavilions, stones, flowers and so on along the way, and there was also a temple whose name I can’t remember, so the climbing process was not boring.
Wulao Peak is behind Nanputuo Temple and can be found by passing through the temple. Speaking of this Wulao Peak, the peak is the commanding height of Xiamen. Climbing Wulao Peak, you can have a panoramic view of the scenery of Xiamen City. Wulao Peak is about the same height as Xiangshan in Beijing, but I still feel a little tired after climbing it.
Wulao Peak is a scenic spot associated with Nanputuo Temple and is also free. If you have the energy, you can climb it. You must have the energy! I climbed for a long time but still didn't reach the top. Many people came down halfway.
Standing on the peak and overlooking the scenery, I can’t express how joyful it is without words.
Wulao Peak is really worth a visit. After visiting Nanputuo Temple, you can go up the mountain. The mountain is not high, but the scenery is very good after going up. You can see Xiamen University at a glance. Looking at the sea from afar and feeling the cool breeze is really comfortable.
Climbing up Wulao Peak, you can overlook the entire Xiamen University and Xiamen Port. We were ready to climb up, but the altitude of only 180 meters stumped us. It was so tiring, the whole way was steep and the tourists around us were out of breath...
It was really a bummer to climb up there. There was nothing on the top of the mountain. It was not as beautiful as the scenery I took at the halfway point. There was only a small shop where I bought a bottle of energy drink for 7 yuan. After taking a rest, I found a way down the mountain.
If you find a good day to go up, you can still take panoramic photos of Xiamen! Unfortunately, the weather was bad on the day we went up! We should go early.
Wulao Peak, with flowers in full bloom
Behind Nanpu, you can climb to the top of Wulao Peak. It is not high and not difficult, but the scenery here is unique and there are some strange-shaped trees.
Get up early in the morning to climb Wulao Peak, which is not far from the hotel, a 10-minute walk, just behind Nanputuo Temple. It is free to climb to the top from the temple.
The mountain is not very high, with an altitude of only 180 meters. It is very easy for young people to reach the top, but it is a big challenge for the elderly.
Holding my mother's hand all the way up step by step, I felt such a happy thing.
I finally understand that the best thing in the world is that I have grown up, but you are not old yet, I have the ability to repay you, and you are still healthy!
When I was a child, you took me to see the world. Now that you grow up, let me take you to see the world.
It didn't take long to get there from Nanputuo. The scenery on the mountain was beautiful and the air was fresh. Although it was tiring to climb the mountain on a hot day, it was worth it.
I followed the crowd to the Wulao Peak behind the temple, bought a ticket at the entrance of the Heavenly King Hall, walked up the stone steps, climbed to the top and looked out into the distance, watching the mountain breeze and sea waves, and all the beautiful scenery was in full view.
It takes about an hour and a half to climb Wulao Peak. Wulao Lingxiao is famous for its tall and straight beauty. The mountain is covered with dense forests, jagged rocks, deep caves, and clear rock springs winding through winding paths. Looking down at your feet, Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen University, Zengcuo'an are all in sight, and Fanyu Lin Palace emerges in the misty clouds, as if you are in the Penglai Fairy Pavilion, floating like an immortal, with endless fun.
After passing through the Sutra Library, there are many cliff carvings behind. Among them is a large stone with an extra-large "Buddha" character engraved on it. It is rough, bold, vigorous and powerful. It is the first time I have seen such a large "Buddha" character.
After exerting all our strength, we climbed up the Wulao Peak. From the top we could see the mountain breeze and the sea waves, and the scenery was in our panoramic view. Looking down at our feet, the buildings were towering, and it felt like we were in the fairy pavilion of Penglai, floating in the air.
After entering Nanputuo, we went straight to the point and started climbing Wulao Peak. Wulao Peak is the back mountain of Nanputuo. A free climbing place inside Nanputuo Temple. You can go up and see the scenery of Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University.
Wulao Peak is really worth climbing. It has extremely rich biodiversity. You can also overlook the whole city and Gulangyu Island in the distance, and experience the relief of "facing the sea with spring flowers blooming". There is also a botanical garden on top for you to visit. After the visit, you can choose to take the cable car to the foot of the mountain. I sincerely recommend it!
When you arrive at Nanputuo, you must climb Wulao Peak. After entering the temple, you can see the way up the mountain. Because group tourists basically stay at the foot of the mountain, not many people climb the mountain. Wulao Peak is not high, less than 200 meters, but the viewing platform on the mountain can overlook the whole view of Xiamen University.
Wulao Peak is not high, less than 200 meters, but from the viewing platform on the mountain you can overlook the entire Xiamen University and even see a corner of Gulangyu Island.
