Yunshuiyao Ancient Town

Formerly known as Changjiao Village, it is an ancient village with a long history. There are long ancient roads, century-old banyan trees, magical earth buildings, and sacred mountains and clear waters in the village.
At the end of 2005, a movie based on the original film "Looking for You" was filmed here, which made the town famous. Since then, it has been renamed "Yunshuiyao". The props built during the filming of "Yunshuiyao" - the waterwheel is still well preserved and has become the symbol of this town.
There are more than a dozen century-old banyan trees on the banks of the stream in the village, and a row of two-story old brick-and-wood houses beside the ancient road. That is the old market with hundreds of years of history.
Most of the old shops still retain the feature of wooden planks instead of walls. The most eye-catching thing in the village is the earthen buildings scattered at the foot of the mountain, beside the stream bank and in the fields.

Yunshuiyao - a perfect combination of commercialization and nature. This is a real village. Villagers live inside. The New Year atmosphere is very strong, which can be seen from the fireworks in the night view photos. Combined with earthen buildings, it has a more unique feature compared to other ancient towns! 95% of the scenic area is cobblestone, so don't wear high heels. The transportation is not so convenient, probably because of the New Year. There is no bus to Nanjing Station at around 4 o'clock. On the way back, I took the bus, which was very small and crowded. I stood for more than an hour. Summary: The night view is beautiful, follow a few movies to take pictures! Recommended for photography enthusiasts, hahahaha

Finally, we booked a one-day tour to Yunshuiyao. Everything was good except the high price. The driver contacted us at 8:15 in the morning and it was pretty good. In addition to my mother and me, there was a family of three from Nanjing and a tour guide. It can be said that we didn't feel tired at all after a day, and the trip was very relaxing, especially suitable for parent-child travel. Yunshuiyao is much quieter than Zhouzhuang and Wuzhen, and not so commercialized. Especially before we had dinner, there were few tourists. After dinner, it should be that the big groups came, which seemed a bit noisy. We had lunch at Chen Kun's house during the filming of Yunshuiyao, and the taste was okay. There is a stream running through Yunshuiyao, which adds to the aura and beauty of the place. Many century-old banyan trees can be seen everywhere by the stream, "On the banyan trees by the pond, cicadas are calling Xiatian loudly." These big banyan trees also witnessed the long history of Yunshuiyao.

The most famous part of Yunshuiyao is probably the windmill, but I haven't seen the movie, so I don't have much feeling about it, so I just took it as a landscape. The earthen buildings here are bigger than those in Tianluokeng, and there are more houses in the middle. There is also a building that you can climb up to visit.

When I went upstairs, the scenery was indeed different. If the weather was better, I believe it would be even more beautiful.

In addition to these well-preserved earth buildings, due to the materials used, earth buildings are very easy to burn, so there are also some earth buildings that have been burned down by fire, which also have a kind of incomplete beauty.

The district has a large north-south span. It takes half an hour to walk from Hegui Building to Huaiyuan Building, which is more than 2 kilometers. We entered from Pushan Parking Lot and pulled the suitcases on the cobblestone road. It was so refreshing.

Walking along the stone road and across the wooden bridge, you will arrive at the stage. Puppet show is a unique style of Xiang Opera, reflecting the inheritance of the essence of Xiang Opera by the Yunshuiyao people.

I always insist on staying overnight when visiting the ancient town, because the ancient town belongs to tourists during the day, and the night and morning belong to you. In the morning, the sun rises, and the soft sunlight shines through the treetops and sprinkles on the cobblestone road. The air is a bit chilly, but it makes people feel refreshed. This is the original appearance of the ancient town.

As time went by, more and more tourists came. Under the big tree, there were rows of bamboo tea trays, tables, chairs and chessboards for tourists to make tea. When tourists were tired, they sat in front of the tea table, sipped a few sips of hot tea made by the villagers with well water, picked up the tea cup with a little residual heat, looked around at the banyan trees, flowing water and villages, and a sense of freedom and carefreeness that was free from the vanity and noise of the world suddenly filled their hearts.

By the creek, a group of villagers who came together just because of their love for musical instruments gathered together, talking and singing by themselves, attracting people who came due to the sound to sit or stand and clap along with them, and from time to time there were bursts of applause and cheers, which brought joy and enjoyment to the tourists.

With the arrival of tour groups, most tourists gathered on this narrow thousand-year-old road, which was crowded with small vendors and a bit noisy.

Yunshuiyao is full of cobblestone roads, which are very awkward to walk on. I recommend wearing flat shoes. I wear white sneakers, which are so fast that I can take off.

Yunshuiyao became famous because of a movie. People can come here to pursue the romantic plot in the movie. It can be said that a place became famous because of a drama.

But it is precisely the fame of this place that has led to a strong commercial atmosphere here.

After entering the scenic area, you will basically have entered the gravel road. It is recommended that you come with a backpack. If you have a suitcase but find it troublesome, you can leave it at the luggage storage in the scenic area. Ladies should also not wear high heels to avoid spraining their feet.

The water in the stream is very clear. When the weather is good, the white clouds in the sky are reflected in the stream, creating a perfect picture.

There are many large banyan trees in Yunshui Yao that are more than 300 years old. Their roots are so thick and deep that it seems that they cannot grow in the soil and have grown above the ground.

The tour guide introduced that the "Grave Robbers' Chronicles" was filmed at this banyan tree.

It feels like this ancient town was forcibly named to cater to this month's movie. Because it is between Hegui Tower and Huaiyuan Tower, it feels like a scenery rather than an ancient town. Except for the interesting plot in the movie, the scenery in Tasha Village seems to have nothing special. In comparison, I prefer the beauty, simplicity and tranquility of Tasha Village.

By Kung Fu Panda |

The impressive waterwheel in the movie is not the original one, but a new one built for the movie. It was not dismantled after the filming. Unfortunately, you can't enter here. Chen Kun's house in the movie is now a restaurant and can be visited for free. The gravel road in the village is the Yunshuiyao Trail. Walking on it vaguely gives you the feeling of the past. The village next to it has begun to commercialize, but the degree is acceptable. There are too many people from travel agencies coming and going, and the tranquility of the Hekeng Tulou is missing.

Yunshuiyao Ancient Village became famous for the filming of the movie "Yunshuiyao". In order to prevent outsiders from knowing about it, they simply changed the name of the village. The gentle atmosphere should be very suitable for Yunshuiyao. The lush century-old banyan trees kiss the gentle and clear streams, and the dark cobblestone ancient roads are interspersed between the old loess houses. The wide river channel makes the view along the coast very broad. Looking up, you can see the endless blue sky, which is unimaginable in big cities with high-rise buildings everywhere.

The beautiful scenery that I had seen during the day showed a different charm under the night and lights. When I passed by Hegui Building, I even saw square dancing.

By Nan Nan Talks to Himself |

The traffic was congested and the scenic spot set up a temporary ticket office in the parking lot, which was very user-friendly. You didn't have to get off the car to buy tickets. The climate in the mountains changes rapidly. It started to rain in less than an hour and the temperature dropped sharply. The most eye-catching thing in the village was the earthen buildings scattered at the foot of the mountain, beside the stream bank, and in the fields. Imagine how it would feel to sit under the banyan tree in a quiet town, sipping tea and looking at the scenery. It's a pity that the scenery is still the same, but the heart can't calm down. It started to rain, and we hid under the stilt house.

The cloud and water ballad in the rain is full of fairy spirit~

Yunshuiyao is a village with mountains and water. Its original name was "Changjiao", which doesn't sound that attractive. Many years ago, Chen Kun and Li Bingbing filmed the movie "Yunshuiyao" here, and the name was changed from then on, which sounds more literary. There are mountains and water in the village, as well as many ancient banyan trees, all of which record the stories of the village.

By Onion |

I have walked through many ancient towns, visited many water towns, and seen many buildings, but when I saw you for the first time, I still felt like I was bathed in spring breeze, like a landscape painting or a fairyland, just as ethereal and poetic as when I first heard the name of Yunshui Yao. The lush ancient banyan trees, the narrow round arch bridge, the ancient houses and water wheels swept away the fatigue of the inconvenient transportation when I came here. Such scenery seems to be seen only in dreams.

Although the mountains are not as beautiful as Huangshan, and the waters are not as gorgeous as Jiuzhaigou, it is unique with its simplicity and ease, attracting countless souls. This simplicity and ease are the memories sealed hundreds of years ago! She is like a lover living in the depths of memory, and her fate is only to wait. Even after hundreds of years, when you see her, she will still look the same, as kind as before.

When I watched "The Legend of Yunshui" in my political science class in college, I only remember that Vivian Hsu was so beautiful. The beautiful love scene under the banyan tree and the waterwheel was filmed in the Tulou in Zhangzhou, Fujian. Many years later, I had the opportunity to visit this famous scenic spot. The leisurely and leisurely atmosphere in the mountains has not changed much with the world, and my home looks the same as yesterday.

Here you can feel the charm of earth buildings up close. The main structure of these earth buildings is made of wood, which makes people admire the wisdom and creativity of our ancestors. These ancient buildings are not only places to live, but also symbols of ethnic culture. These are witnesses of history and tributes to the wisdom and craftsmanship of our ancestors.

Between Huaiyuan Tower and Hegui Tower, you have to pass Yunshuiyao under the banyan tree. Banyan trees, streams, and water wheels are the symbols of Yunshuiyao. Yunshuiyao is actually a scenic spot belonging to the world cultural heritage "Fujian Tulou", which is 5A level. I still have some impression of Yunshuiyao. I have seen the movie "Yunshuiyao" starring Chen Kun and Li Bingbing before, and many scenes were shot here. In Yunshuiyao, you can see many such big banyan trees, which have a history of hundreds of years. The most popular big banyan tree and the big water wheel next to it, the breeze is cool. It's comfortable with my girlfriend. Along the way, it's really a gravel road, so I remind friends who are traveling that shoes must be comfortable. You don't have to wear sneakers. I always wear sandals, but I have to wear sandals that are suitable for walking. When you are tired, go to the teahouse on the side of the road to take a break, drink a cup of tea, and listen to the story of tea.

By Jiao Youyou |

The village is already a mature tourist attraction, and its ancient and heavy texture can only be seen between the century-old banyan trees and earthen buildings. If you avoid tour guides and groups of tourists, there are still some traces of the natural life atmosphere in the village.

By Leather Hill |

There are many earth buildings in Fujian, mainly concentrated in Yongding and Nanping.

Nanping mainly includes Yunshuiyao Ancient Town, Four Dishes and One Soup Tianluokeng, Tasha Village and Hekeng Earth Building Group.

In Yongding, there are Hongkeng Tulou Group, Gaobei Tulou Group, Chuxi Tulou Group, Nanxi Tulou Group, and Zhongchuan Ancient Village.

It is basically unrealistic to want to play all of them, and it is easy to get aesthetic fatigue if you see too much.

It is recommended to choose 1~2 to play.

The most convenient way to travel to these scenic spots is by driving yourself, followed by one-day tours online.

If you have plenty of time, you can also take public transportation, stay overnight near the Tulou, and enjoy the night view of the Tulou.

Yunshui Yao, what a poetic name.

The first time I heard this name was in the movie "The Clouds and the Water" starring Chen Kun, Vivian Hsu and Li Bingbing. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that the scenes in the movie that made me exclaim in admiration of how beautiful they were were shot here.

The original name of Yunshuiyao was Changjiao, but it was changed to Yunshuiyao because of the filming of the movie.

Yunshui Yao has a large north-south span. The Hegui Tower and Huaiyuan Tower, both listed as World Heritage Sites, are more than 2 kilometers long and are both cobblestone roads. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Tourists are not allowed to visit Hegui Tower and Huaiyuan Tower, but local people live in the towers. If you pay 10 yuan, local people can take you up the tower.

In addition to various earthen buildings, another major feature of Yunshui Yao is the several century-old banyan trees growing along the stream.

The thickest banyan tree requires more than a dozen adults holding hands to hug it. Such a thick tree also has extraordinary branches, which are more than 30 meters long.

"On the banyan trees beside the pond, cicadas are calling out loudly." These ancient banyan trees are also witnesses to the long history of Yunshui Yao.

Yunshuiyao Ancient Town was originally named Changjiao. It is a small town in Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City. It was renamed because the movie "Yunshuiyao" was filmed here and became well-known to the outside world. There are quiet ancient roads, clear streams, century-old banyan trees, and magical earthen buildings here. In particular, the cobblestone-paved ancient roads have been trampled smooth and black, which is the best evidence of the history of the ancient town. The vicissitudes of the folk houses by the stream and the bridgehead, the old people enjoying the cool under the century-old banyan trees, and the yellow cattle working in the fields all give people a feeling that this should be home, and home should look like this. I like this kind of place with simple folk customs, no impetuousness, and no commercial flavor. The roadside vendors sell local specialties, tea, handmade cigarettes, honey, fruits, etc., at reasonable prices. They don't even have fixed stalls. The agricultural products are casually placed in bamboo baskets or on small benches, which seems very unprofessional, unlike other scenic spots where the things sold are unified "Yiwu production" across the country. If time permits, it must be very pleasant to stay here for a few days.

The ancient town was originally named Changjiao, located in Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City. The long ancient road, century-old banyan trees, magical earth buildings, and the sacred mountains and clear waters in the village attracted the filming of the movie "Yunshui Yao" here. Changjiao Scenic Area has the world cultural heritage "Hegui Tower" and "Huaiyuan Tower". After the successful application of Fujian Earth Building for World Heritage, in order to establish a brand with the name of "Yunshui Yao", the local government officially named this more than 10 kilometers long ancient road paved with pebbles in the village as "Yunshui Yao Ancient Plank Road" and named Changjiao as the "Yunshui Yao" ancient town.

Yunshuiyao Scenic Area is famous for the movie "Yunshuiyao". The whole scenic area is divided into three parts: Hegui Tower, Yunshuiyao and Huaiyuan Tower. Yunshuiyao belongs to the ancient town, Hegui Tower and Huaiyuan Tower are earthen buildings, and there are some private earthen buildings, but you need to pay extra to enter (5 yuan).

.

Maybe it’s because it’s already the second day of the Tulou tour, and we felt like vomiting after seeing so many Tulou… So compared to the two Tulou, we prefer Yunshuiyao Ancient Town. Although it is already very commercialized and Yiwu small commodities can be seen everywhere, it does not affect its overall beauty and charm.

.

Most of the ancient town is paved with cobblestones. Rivers, stone steps, old houses, and several century-old banyan trees make up the Yunshuiyao Ancient Town. It is also a nice enjoyment to have a cup of tea and eat Yongding glutinous rice cake under the banyan tree.

.

It is not an exaggeration to say that "every step is a scene, and every place is a painting". Everywhere is a beautiful landscape painting. There is also an interesting bee museum here, which is free to visit, conveys knowledge about bees, and you can also see a large native beehive, which is also a bit shocking to us.

.

You can eat Yongding glutinous rice cake here, as well as gold-wrapped silver ones. They are so delicious. I love them.

The next day, I got up early at 6 o'clock just to see Yunshuiyao without being disturbed. This is the only time to take poetic photos~ Yunshuiyao was originally named Changjiao Village. A gurgling Changjiao River winds through the village, accompanied by Youyunling Mountain and Jurong Ancient Road, stretching for more than ten miles. LP changed into a very ladylike look, which matched the style of the ancient town with clear water and stone bridges~ The large waterwheel specially built for the filming of the movie "Yunshuiyao" quietly nestled next to the ancient banyan tree. The combination of the two constitutes the iconic picture of "Waterwheel and Ancient Banyan Tree" in Yunshuiyao·

Although people on the Internet say that Yunshui Yao is more commercialized, it would not be suitable if we go there for tourism without even accommodation and meals. Compared with the ancient towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, this place is much better. It has flowing streams and earthen buildings, which is completely different from our Jiangnan style. I still like it here very much.

There are also the more famous Four Vegetables and One Soup and Hekeng Tulou nearby. In fact, it is enough to just see one of them, because I have watched "Big Fish and Begonia" three times and I have some feelings about it. Otherwise, the children will have no feeling for architecture at all. So I think it is a good place to bring children to Yunshui Yao. If you come in summer, remember to bring a water gun, it will be more fun.

A beautiful place that made a movie, a cultural symbol spread by the movie, the story changed the place name, and also changed people's aesthetic concept. The original name of the ancient town was Changjiao, and it was because of the movie that the ancient village, ancient trees, wooden bridges, and earthen buildings all seemed to be included in it. One star for all those one-day tour rubbish groups, they keep saying no shopping, go straight to the scenic spot, and waste half a day in these rubbish places asking you to buy things and drink tea. One star for Yunshuiyao, it is really not good. There are so many ancient towns to visit, and Yunshuiyao is the worst one, no doubt about it

Maybe it was because there were too many people during the Chinese New Year, so it didn't feel very good. The earthen building was so crowded that it was difficult to take a photo, and we couldn't go upstairs. The flow of visitors far exceeded the reception capacity.

The Yunshuiyao scenic area is not very big. There is only a small part of the ancient town, which is not very interesting. However, it is a large building complex with many villages, so the land is not small. Moreover, the ground is paved with pebbles, which is not easy to walk on. If you wear high heels, you may have to wear them... The local people like to drink tea and treat guests with tea. Of course, growing and selling tea is also one of their sources of livelihood. "Red Beauty" is more famous. It is said that it was named by Dong Qing when she came here to do a show. They also make Tieguanyin health tea here. I am not good at drinking health tea. The Tieguanyin here is really average... It can be called tea at most.

In fact, it is still okay to see the scenery. The sky is clear and the wind is gentle. Except that the driving time is too long, everything else is fine.

We bought the tickets online. The original price was 90 yuan, which was a few yuan cheaper. The ticket check in the parking lot was still very strict. You can just swipe your ID card to buy tickets online. Students under 18 years old need to buy half-price tickets on the spot for 45 yuan.

The scenic area is not big, it is recommended to go there between 7 and 11 in the morning, when there are not many tourists, but it will be crowded if you go there later.

By Simple Heart |

The entire scenic area is paved with gravel, which is not easy to walk on, but it feels good to walk on the gravel road by the river. It is recommended that friends who go there again wear flat and comfortable shoes.

After getting a general understanding of the movie "The Legend of Yun Shui", and thinking about the situation at that time and looking at the real scenery, I will have different feelings.

By Fairy from the Sky |

The big banyan tree is so beautiful. It's very interesting to take pictures at the waterwheel at night. In the morning, I walked along and kept going down. The river beach is also very beautiful. I took a few short videos and they were all very colorful. Eating fish in two ways is the characteristic of Yunshui Yao. You must try it.

By Rest, little thief |

The scenery is pretty good, with two world cultural heritage earth buildings at both ends, and in the middle is an ancient village of earth buildings and a mountain stream, with distant mountains and nearby water, and a dense green ancient banyan tree on the shore. At that time, I stayed in a farmhouse in the village for three days, which was quite pleasant.

By Chestnut |

Because the name of this place is very familiar to me from the TV series, it is a very quiet and quaint little village~

By …Mi°Chu~ |

The scenery is nice and it feels quite primitive. It is quite far from Xiamen. We signed up for a one-day tour, which cost about 100 to 200 yuan per person. We left early and returned late to see the Tulou and Yunshuiyao. The Tulou and Yunshuiyao, as tourist attractions, have poor supporting facilities, probably because they are primitive. The road near the scenic area is very narrow, the parking lot is small and disorderly, and it will cause traffic jams. It was dark after seeing Yunshuiyao, so we took a look at the night view.

By Lay_zhAnG_Yx |

After returning from Yefengzhai, I have been hesitating whether to go to Yunshuiyao or Zhenhaijiao the next day. I want to go to both places, but time is running out. After hesitating for a long time, I decided to go to Yunshuiyao, because I have seen the sea in Xiamen, but I have not seen the Tulou. I don't want to regret it once, so I decided to go to Yunshuiyao. In fact, if you have time, I suggest you play for two days, because one day is really too rushed. It was almost noon when you arrived at Yunshuiyao, and there were all kinds of tour groups everywhere. If you like to travel independently, I think it is better not to sign up for a group. You can control your own time and walk and stop by yourself. If you stay here for a day, you can choose to go out at night to take a night view. The lanterns here will light up and there will be another scene, or you can get up early the next morning to take pictures. There won't be many people. You can go and quietly enjoy this beautiful village, feel the beauty of nature, and the local customs and customs here. This is a place where you can calm down. You don't need to bother to find the beauty of Yunshuiyao. Every corner of it has an intoxicating charm. Walking into the ancient village, you are no longer a tourist passing by in a hurry, but a scholar who has strayed into the Peach Blossom Spring. Passing by the long ancient road, the century-old banyan tree is shining with fine sunlight. In the fresh and moist countryside, the hardworking Hakka people guard a piece of pure land. There are also tea mountains in the distance. If you have time, you can also be in it. . . . In the bustling traffic, there is such a simple and quiet village. Every day here is like a day of idle clouds and wild cranes. Go to the place where Big Fish and Begonia meet and live in the lovely earthen building in the animation. A leisurely song of Yunshuiyao will collect the aura of this village in your heart. If I can, I would like to go there again, stay for a few days, and feel this place well. . . . I like a passage in "Big Fish and Begonia": In this short life, we will eventually lose everything. Therefore, you might as well be bolder, be bolder to love someone, to climb a mountain, to chase a dream... I didn’t think this line was so good when I watched this movie before, until I came to the Hakka earth buildings in Zhangzhou, Fujian, where Chun and Qiu originally lived in the film. Suddenly, I fell in love with these earth buildings full of fireworks in the film.

Yunshuiyao requires a ticket, but you can walk through the scenic area! No need to wait for the scenic area bus that will arrive at any time! There are many people shouting and selling fruits on the way into the scenic area. Among them, there is a small pineapple that is my favorite. 3 boxes for 10 yuan, it is not a problem for one person to take 3 boxes. If you feel that you can't finish it, you can also sell it in individual boxes.

Compared with Tianluokeng, Yunshuiyao has a stronger commercial atmosphere, with many vendors selling tea or dried goods along the way.

Clouds and Waters Ballad

Just looking at the Yunshuiyao attraction, it's a bit boring...

Some of the high scores above may be combined with Tianluokeng, Chuxi Tulou, and Yongding Tulou, (2 points + 5 points + 5 points + 5 points) / 4 ≈ 4.3 points... But I will not give any Tulou group a score of 5 points, not because they are not interesting enough, but because they are not completely tourist attractions, and there are indigenous residents inside! ! You are not allowed to go upstairs all day! ! Can this be considered a tourist attraction in the conventional sense! ! ! (I am a little excited, sorry... but "keeping it in its natural state" does not mean leaving people inside... Going upstairs to take pictures of star trails at night feels like peeping...)

Speaking of Yunshuiyao, I recommend friends who haven’t been there to go to Bage Valley near Zhangzhou, which also has streams, rocks, and clouds. . .

Note: The picture shows one of the few classic camera positions at the scenic spot, but please forgive me for the large number of people.

Yunshuiyao Ancient Town is really overdeveloped, all of it is selling things and snacks. If you want to see it, you can only look at the earthen buildings and admire the diversity of cultural styles from all over the world.

After a tour, I felt that there were only people, snacks and vendors everywhere. Parking is really inconvenient. Locals will let you park at their house for a fee. It is recommended to park in the public parking lot. There are shuttle buses between the parking lots. It is really tiring to walk along the river from Huaiyuan Building to Fuxing Building. It is all cobblestone roads, and my feet are sore.

Yunshuiyao Ancient Town includes two earth buildings in a line, first the Hegui Building, then the ancient town, and finally the Huaiyuan Building. It is recommended to park the car in the parking lot at the entrance, take a walk around, and then take the scenic shuttle bus back to the entrance.

The ancient town is very long and built along the stream, with many stone bridges. The road is paved with large cobblestones, and it is very tiring to walk down in sneakers, so try to wear something comfortable.

It's a bit commercialized, but all the famous ancient towns in China are like this, so you'll get used to it. You can buy some ginger candy as a souvenir.

Yunshuiyao Tourist Area is quite far away, and it takes 2 hours to get there from downtown Zhangzhou. It's nice to walk around the scenic area, see the unique earthen buildings in the country, and the Yunshuiyao Ancient Town. The scenery is pretty good. Life here feels very comfortable, and you can enjoy tea and the scenery. The business atmosphere is quite strong, and it's nice to walk around.

Because the place where the movie became popular has five big banyan trees, which is a beautiful countryside scenery. The mud houses, stone bridges, banyan trees, and water wheels are indeed beautiful southern Fujian folk scenery. However, the commercial atmosphere is a bit strong now, and there are a lot of people on holidays.

Why haven't I seen anyone mention it on any major websites? It's too easy to get tickets for the Yunshui Yao Scenic Area without having to pay. Although there are security guards sitting at the ticket gates of several scenic spots, they are all very casual and idle. Apart from accepting group tickets handed over by tour guides, they don't seem to bother to ask individual tourists to go over to check their tickets if you are a little far away. And this scenic area is open in all directions, there is no need to get close to the ticket gate... We did buy tickets, but we didn't see anyone else checking along the way, so we felt like we were at a loss, haha.

The filming location of "The Clouds and Water" starring Chen Kun. The moment you enter the scenic area, it is like opening a gorgeous and dazzling painting that can never be closed again.

The ancient road is long, the stream is gurgling, the ancient trees are surrounding, the mountains are heavy, it is natural, beautiful, ethereal and quiet. Being in it, the comfort and beauty are shocking to the heart, and it is beyond words.

Sit under the banyan tree, order a pot of tea, drink by yourself, listen to the roar of the stream, watch the water splashing, smell the fragrance of the grass, forget the fatigue of the journey for a while, and let your soul be in paradise on earth.

Here even unromantic love can become romantic.

The importance of naming is not only reflected in people and things, but also in scenic spots. This place used to be called "Changjiao Village" (very rustic), but later it became famous because of a movie "Yunshui Yao". Later, people renamed this beautiful mountain village "Yunshui Yao". (Very fashionable)

Later, nearly ten movies were filmed here one after another. Gradually, more and more people came here because of the name "Yunshui Yao" and wanted to experience the quiet beauty of this ancient village for themselves.

The banyan tree in Yunshuiyao is a highlight. In this small village, there are 13 banyan trees that are 100 years old or even more than 1,000 years old. The largest one requires more than 10 people to hug it. However, it is said that making a wish silently under the largest thousand-year-old banyan tree is very effective. I made a wish that day and it came true 5 minutes later.

I just mentioned that there are a lot of banyan trees here, really a lot. There is a river called "Changjiao Creek" in the village. For thousands of years, it has been gurgling through the village, leaving behind patches of green grass and bays of clear water, and then flowing to the distant mountains.

In fact, the most attractive thing here is the earthen buildings, which is also the reason why many people come here.

These earthen buildings are scattered at the foot of the mountain, beside the stream and in the fields, and are majestic and spectacular. Among them, there is the Hegui Building, which is built on the swamp and is known as "the most amazing building in the world", the well-preserved double-ring circular earthen building "Huaiyuan Building", and the stilt buildings and bamboo pole buildings.

In fact, I came to Yunshuiyao 10 years ago. At that time, it was really a small mountain village and did not have the commercial atmosphere it has today. Now, many attractions have been added on the original basis, but I don’t know why I have no interest in these at all.

Yunshuiyao, "Nanjing Yunshuiyao" was originally named Changjiao. It is located in Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City. It is a scenic spot of the world cultural heritage "Fujian Tulou" and is a national 5A level scenic spot. There are beautiful mountains and rivers and rich humanities. The long ancient road, century-old banyan trees, magical Tulou, and the sacred mountains and clear waters in the village all give people a transcendent feeling. At the end of 2005, the movie "Yunshuiyao", adapted from the movie literary script "Searching" written by Zhang Kehui based on his and several Taiwanese life experiences, was filmed here. After the successful application of Fujian Tulou for World Heritage status, in order to establish a brand by using the name of "Yunshui Yao", the humanistic connotation and moral sentiment of this excellent work "Yunshui Yao" were fully displayed on this ancient plank road in southwestern Fujian, allowing tourists to appreciate the beautiful scenery of the strange building, appreciate the ancient road and the clear water, and feel the profound roots of the exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan. The local government officially named this ancient road in the village, which is more than 10 kilometers long and paved with pebbles, as "Yunshui Yao Ancient Plank Road", and named Changjiao as the "Yunshui Yao" ancient town.

This legendary beautiful place has its own charm. It is cooler and quieter than Xiamen. You don’t need to turn on the air conditioner when you sleep at night, and you still need to cover yourself with a quilt in the middle of the night. The folk customs there are still very simple, and the scenic area is not too commercial. There are few tourists at night. The whole scenic area is quiet, except for the flowing water and the croaking of frogs. A few of us night wanderers wandered to the riverside to watch the stars in the middle of the night, but we were very careful.

Afraid of disturbing the tranquility.

A village renamed Yunshuiyao because of a TV series is still very beautiful

It's really worth a visit. We have been here twice and still feel that the scenery is great, with all kinds of country roads.

This is a very beautiful place, suitable for strolling slowly, breathing fresh air, and staying overnight is also a good idea

By zhongguohong |

A stunningly beautiful place, especially suitable for slow travel. You need to stay in the ancient town for two or three days to experience what it's like. If you just skim the surface, you won't be able to feel the fairy-tale romance at all.

There are 8 century-old trees in Yunshuiyao. These two are different. They are called "husband and wife trees". It is said that a long time ago, there was a war and the husband was called to join the army. The wife planted one of the trees when her husband left. After waiting for many years, her husband did not come back. Later, the wife learned that her husband died in the battlefield, so she planted another tree alone. As time went by, the two trees grew very well, and a very strange thing happened. Normal branches would not be connected, but the branches of these two trees actually grew together. It feels very loving. There are still people living in the interior of Heguilou, most of whom are local elderly people, so it is not allowed to go upstairs to visit. A movie many years ago made Yunshuiyao Ancient Town more and more popular, and the scenery is of a small fresh style.

Yunshui Yao, formerly known as Changjiao Village, became famous because of a movie, but the scenery here is indeed nice.

Yunshuiyao is one of my favorite ancient towns I have visited. It is not as noisy as Fenghuang and Xitang, but very quiet and beautiful. Doesn’t it reveal my age? There is a long Jiao River in the town, which was the main transportation channel of the town in ancient times. Fourteen big banyan trees decorate the beauty of the ancient town. Huaiyuan Tower and Hegui Tower, two world cultural heritage sites, record the long history of the town.

The whole town is paved with cobblestones, and many of the house foundations are made of cobblestones. The pavement is a legacy of history and a plus point for being a world cultural heritage, which is definitely a major feature of Yunshui Yao.

The banyan trees in this town are really unique. The town is suitable for staying for 3-5 days, slowly experiencing the elegance of slow life, it is really beautiful, I think, if you have the opportunity to experience it yourself, it will definitely be worth the trip.

In addition to the waterscape, Yunshuiyao is also characterized by the ancient thousand-year-old banyan tree growing there.

Mountain streams, ancient roads, century-old banyan trees, water wheels...compose the beautiful picture of this ancient town.

The movie "Yun Shui Yao" made this ancient town famous, so it was renamed Yun Shui Yao.

If you have time, I recommend staying in Yunshuiyao for two days. You will definitely gain something different.

By Silence |

Yunshuiyao was originally named Changjiao, and was later renamed because of the movie "Yunshuiyao". Compared with today's reinforced concrete, the original earthen buildings better reflect the architectural wisdom of the ancestors. The Hegui Building built on the swamp is incredible. The construction of Huaiyuan Building is also the prospect of the future and the memory of growth for every person who has traveled far away. The earthen building is low-key but noble. When you see Yunshuiyao, she is simply a pure and elegant girl.

I signed up for a one-day tour from Xiamen and went to Yongding Tulou and Zhangzhou Yunshui Yao, which are 200 kilometers away from Xiamen. The quaint villages, ancient banyan trees, magical Tulou, long cobblestone roads... The scenery was okay, but it was depressing to travel with a tour group. We always had to gather, and there were too many people when I wanted to take pictures. In short, I felt very rushed and was very tired after the day.

By Aggi |

The tour guide is not very good. The scenery is OK and quite unique. Don't be cheated by the tour guide. The local guide will take you to his home to drink tea and force you to buy tea. If you don't buy it, you won't leave. I thought it was a scenic spot when I heard the introduction on the road. It was called the Little Swallow's House next to the seventh banyan tree. It's a rip-off. The whole process only counted the number of people and didn't explain. I followed the tour guide of other groups throughout the whole process. The group meal was 8 stir-fried dishes such as boiled cauliflower in water. It was said that we had a pure play but we haven't reached the scenic spot yet. We took them to buy local specialties first.

By Brother Nie |

The tour guide service is OK, but the landscape of the earthen buildings is not particularly good, and the sense of the ancient town is not particularly distinctive compared to other ancient towns in China.

By Awesome Cui |

It's a beautiful place. Some people think it's too remote, but I like it very much. There are too many tour groups, one after another. After the tour groups leave, it's much quieter and you can enjoy the surrounding scenery. There are many hundreds of years old trees, and the red bananas are super delicious. We all regret not buying more.

Rubbish, very bad attitude, unreasonable tickets, expensive housing, some shabby rooms are more expensive than hotels, rip-off, ugly scenic area, students book tickets based on appearance, if they look mature, they are charged adult tickets, totally unreasonable, come once and never again! Very bad!

I've been here. I've been to Xiamen but I didn't go to Yunshuiyao. It seems like something is missing. There's no surprise.

The ancient town can actually be walked through in half a day. I spent the rest of the time sitting by the river, enjoying the breeze and daydreaming. The roads in the ancient town are all paved with cobblestones, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. You can read my travel notes for details.
