Just after I parked the car, I saw a beautiful girl coming towards me and said that she was the woman's daughter. I could take her up the mountain or have a meal at her house. Well, it was time to have a meal anyway, and I just saved more than 200 yuan. I ordered a dish of pork fried with fresh bamboo shoots and a dish of pork fried with wild mushrooms. Two bowls of rice cost 72 yuan. Then I went up the path to the second viewing platform. Sure enough, the terraces here are very beautiful. It is said that this is an advertised scenic spot. But it is not the right time to come to the terraces because the water has not been released yet.

The terraced fields in Longji Ancient Zhuang Village are called the Five-Colored Terraced Fields. It turns out that many kinds of rice were planted here. Plants of different colors grow crosswise, and different colors all over the mountains and plains are like clouds in the sky. This imagination is quite creative. For example, when we went there, the ordinary indica rice had just been harvested, and the purple rice was not yet mature. The golden indica rice was placed on the ridges of the fields, and the purple-red purple rice grew in the ground. The difference in the two colors alone is already very beautiful. If plants of other colors are created, wouldn’t it realize people’s wishes? How beautiful it would be!

Traffic jams, a large number of tourists are stranded at the service center, the steps outside the door are full of people waiting, it is so crowded that no one can get through, tourist groups from all over the country are queuing up to take the bus, and they waited for two hours before they got on the shuttle bus. Just now, a friend arrived a day later than me, and they waited for three hours before they got on the bus that day. Their plans were changed while waiting for the bus. It is worth mentioning that the network signal at the service center is unstable. Telecom users can access the Internet, but Mobile users are crazy.

The Longji Rice Terraces were first built in the Yuan Dynasty and completed in the early Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 650 years. It mainly includes three terraces, one is Ping'an Village, one is Dazhai Village, and the other is Longji Village (Longji Ancient Zhuang Village). However, tourists mainly choose the Ping'an Zhuang Rice Terraces and Dazhai Jinkeng Hongyao Rice Terraces. Among them, the Ping'an Rice Terraces were developed earlier and more mature, while the Dazhai Rice Terraces were developed later, but they are more spectacular.

If you take a tourist bus, you need to change to a scenic bus at the ticket office. If you drive yourself, you can drive directly to the terraced field parking lot you want to go to.

There are three viewing spots in Dazhai Jinkeng Terraces, namely Xishan Shaole, Dajie Thousand-Layered Ladder, and Jinfoding. Xishan Shaole offers views of Maoer Mountain in Xing'an and Fupingbao, the highest peak in Longji Scenic Area in Longsheng County; Dajie Thousand-Layered Ladder offers views of terraces that are like stairs that are built straight up to the clouds, like a ladder to heaven; Jinfoding offers views of "Eagle Spreading Wings", "Golden Thread Hanging Gourd" and sunset. Jinfoding is the only viewing spot in Longji Terraces that can be reached by cable car.

Because of the orientation, you have to go to Jinfoding to watch the sunset, and to Xishan Shaole to watch the sunrise. However, it takes about two hours to walk from Jinfoding to Xishan Shaole after watching the sunset.

First, get off at Qintan Bus Station, where there is a bus to Longsheng. It costs about 30 yuan to take a regular bus. When you get to Dazhai, the driver will ask you to get off at Ping'an, and then wait on the roadside to change to a small bus. After getting on the bus, you will pay another 30 yuan per person (round trip fee, not limited to the day). This bus will take you to Dazhai, and you will also keep the receipt. You can take this bus (and other buses of the company, the receipt has the vehicle number) back to Guilin. On the way to Dazhai, there will be a station where a ticket seller will get on the bus to sell tickets for the scenic spot, 95 yuan per person.

We didn't take the cable car because we relied on our physical strength to go up and down the mountain. The round trip walk and taking photos took about 2 hours.

If you take a bus, it is recommended to take a direct bus first, because the entrance of the scenic spot is 40 minutes away from Jinkeng Dazhai (all buses can only reach the entrance of Longji Scenic Area) by mountain road, and you need to transfer to the scenic spot shuttle bus to enter. After entering the scenic area, you don’t have to worry about the car going out. There are contact information and prices of chartered cars and buses everywhere. The hotel can also help book tickets, so if you want to be casual, it’s no problem to compare various prices and then book tickets. Of course, there are chartered cars, the kind of 7-seater car, it is also quite affordable to find enough people to share the car, after all, it is much more comfortable~

[About tickets] There are people selling tickets at the entrance of the scenic spot, 95 per person, students (undergraduate and below) can get half price with their student ID and ID card, and there are discounts for the elderly, soldiers, journalists and Guilin locals. It is only a few dollars cheaper online. Some shops charge 85~90 per person if you hire a car. Mine was hired and they gave me 80 per person. It was very conscientious and the service was very good.

The Longji Scenic Area consists of four large "pits": Ping'an Zhuang Village, Longji Ancient Zhuang Village, Huangluo Yao Village, and Jinkeng Dayao Village, where the ethnic minorities living there are Zhuang and Yao.

Ticket price: 90 yuan per person, student ticket 47 yuan per person.

We stayed in Ping'an Zhuang Terraces, which is not far from the two major terraced fields viewing spots, "Seven Stars and the Moon" and "Nine Dragons and Five Tigers". It takes about 20 minutes to walk to each, so it is highly recommended to choose to stay here.

After buying the ticket and entering the classic area, you still have to drive a mountain road (about 40 minutes) to reach the location of Ping'an Zhuang Terraces, and then hike up the mountain for about 20 minutes. When you arrive at the hotel, you are really very tired, but the moment you see the beautiful scenery, you find that all the hard work is worth it.

The terraces are in irrigation period in April and May, and you can take pictures of the beautiful blue sky reflected on the water surface on sunny days; rice seedlings are planted in June and July, and the terraces are lush green; in September and October, the terraces begin to mature and turn yellow, and the colors of the terraces at this time are more diverse, and it is also the most beautiful time.

It is one of the places you must visit in Guilin. You should stay in the village for a few days, but unfortunately I only stayed for half a day and then left.

It's our own fault, mainly because of the wrong time and poor skills. Uh, it seems I said it the wrong way. Anyway, I don't recommend coming here in summer. By the way, it's been a while, I can't remember which is Longsheng and which is Longji, anyway, they are all terraces, so I'll just pick a few pictures at random. Haha!

The terraces here are divided into three parts: the Hongyao Terraces Scenic Area (Dazhai Hongyao Terraces), the Ping'an Zhuang Terraces Scenic Area (Ping'an Zhuang Terraces), and the Longji Ancient Zhuangzhai Terraces Scenic Area. The Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups live in the terraces. The Ancient Zhuangzhai Terraces I went to is the largest and highest terrace group. The scenery is relatively open and you can basically overlook the entire panorama. I went there in October. The scenery is yellowish, but it is very shocking. I recommend everyone to go and see it. You can take a cable car up and down. There is also a performance in the Changfa Village in the local area. It is recommended that if you are not so harsh on money, you can go and see it. It is still good. If you have it, you can take a one-day tour in Guilin or Yangshuo. It is convenient to pick up and drop off by car.

Even if it is not fully watered, it is still recommended and you don’t have to wait until May.

Longji Terraces are mainly divided into three parts: Ping'an Terraces, Jinkeng Terraces, and Guzhuangzhai Terraces.

Longji Ancient Zhuang Village is located in the southwest foot of Yuechengling Mountain Range in northern Guangxi, in the northeast of Heping Township, Longsheng Autonomous County. The diligence and wisdom of the Zhuang people are reflected in their farming methods. The terraced fields are like prints, embodying the hard work of generations.

This was the first viewing area we visited when we arrived at Longji Rice Terraces on the afternoon of June 13, 2015. My relative is a photography enthusiast and he specifically chose the evening view.

There are three must-see attractions in Longji Terraces ~ Each has its own characteristics ~

I was exhausted from climbing all the way up the mountain, but the scenery was beautiful.

I thought the terraces would have been harvested after the National Day holiday, but due to the rain brought by the typhoon, when I arrived at Longji, the terraces were not yet fully harvested. Although it was raining, the mist-shrouded Longji added a bit of fairy air - it's so beautiful!

There are two roads to Longji Terraces. One is to take a cable car directly to the top of the mountain, which is very crowded. If you are physically fit, it is recommended to climb the other mountain by yourself. If you ask the locals directly, they will tell you which road to go up the mountain. You will pass Qixingding on the mountain road. If you walk up for ten minutes, there will be a pavilion selling tofu pudding. That is the top of the mountain. The scenery here is better and there are fewer people. If you have time, it is best to take pictures of sunrise and sunset. The sun is very strong at noon, and the light is too scattered, so it is not easy to take pictures. The brown sugar tofu pudding at the foot of the mountain is delicious. It is recommended to try the local specialty; the chicken pot here is also quite famous.

It's really a paradise on earth! You have to go there in person! It's very different!

This is a view you have never seen in your life, and it is also a view you will never forget. The golden ribbon with green edges winds from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, like ribbons falling from the sky. The curves are like flowing clouds and water, and the scale is magnificent. The terraces are connected to the blue sky and white clouds above and the valley river below. It is magnificent from a distance and beautiful from a close distance. Everyone who has seen it will be shocked!

I drove to Longsheng on October 3rd. It was the peak period of the National Day holiday. So there was a traffic jam. It was 9 o'clock in the evening when I arrived at the scenic spot. The neon lights at the entrance of the scenic spot were flashing, and it was magnificent and brilliant. There is still a 9-kilometer steep mountain road from the entrance of the scenic spot to the Longji Ancient Zhuangzhai Terraced Fields Scenic Area. There are few parking spaces in the scenic area. During the National Day holiday, many self-driving cars need to park on the steep road. Then walk to the inn and scenic spots.

As soon as you enter the scenic area, you can smell the fragrance of rice, which is very comfortable and makes people feel at ease.

The terraced fields are spectacular, especially in the morning when the sun just rises. Under the soft sunlight, they are golden and warm.

The local people are very cute and simple. They enthusiastically introduced the scenic spots and helped analyze how to visit and arrange time, which was very good.

The terraces are surrounded by steep mountains. Many of them are very small and only grow rice. However, they have planted every one of them fully, which makes people feel that they are very hardworking and diligent.

The terraced fields are worth seeing in all seasons. In summer, the terraced fields are lush green, and the combination of the blue sky and brown land is simply breathtaking.

The Longji Rice Terraces are indeed nice. When I went there in July, the rice seedlings had already been planted and the terraces were lush and green, which was stunning. The terraces are a tourist attraction that has been artificially developed. It is quite convenient to walk up the terraces, or you can take the cable car up, but the cable car can only go up halfway up the mountain, so you still have to climb to the top of the mountain by yourself. Friends who don’t like climbing or doing sports, remember not to book a room at the top of the mountain when booking a room.

The environment is quite quiet. We went to the Guzhuang Town Scenic Area. There are very few people here. It is quiet. There are chickens and ducks everywhere in the village. It is quite original. The local villagers are also very enthusiastic! Get up early in the morning to watch the sunrise. The weather is not good, but the terraced fields in the clouds are also beautiful. We will come back to see it when it matures in late September!

Although we came at the wrong season and did not see the mirrors and golden ears of rice, we did experience how the Zhuang and Yao people of Longji have gritted their teeth and relied on the most primitive slash-and-burn farming to open up terraces in the face of the mountains for more than 800 years. It is their hard work and diligence that inspired and motivated us.

The best time for photography is in the morning and evening. The light during this time is the mildest and best. The clouds are floating, the sun is shining, the light is interspersed through the clouds, the colors are constantly changing, and the light mist is floating in the valley~~

Watching the sunrise at Longji depends on luck. Some people may not be able to see it even after waiting for a week. The humidity and fog in the morning are too heavy. When you see the sun, it is already high in the sky. I am lucky. The sun's beams keep changing colors, and the fog is illuminated by various dazzling lights.

It was probably not the best time to view the scenery when we went there. There was no lush green or golden yellow, but it was still beautiful and worth a visit.

I personally think that the scenery of Longji is the most amazing in the entire Guilin tour. It is more convenient to charter a car, but you must also pay attention to safety because the road into the village is very difficult to drive.

There is basically no public transportation to places far away from Guilin city. If you want to go there, you mostly have to sign up for a one-day or two-day tour group locally. However, there are several buses from Guilin Railway Station to Longsheng every day, and the ticket price is 40-50 per person. You can check the specific time and price at the local long-distance bus station, but there are also shops selling tickets on Taobao, and you can get a discount, which is very cost-effective. Just choose a store with good reviews.

You can go back and forth on the same day or stay overnight in Longsheng. There are many family-style hotels in Longsheng village. The youth hostel type on the hillside costs about 50 yuan per night, and a standard room on the top of the mountain where you can watch the sunrise costs about 200 yuan. Although the scenery on the top of the mountain is better, please note that there is no transportation in the village and you have to walk to go up. Therefore, if you are not physically fit, don't stay on the top of the mountain. It takes about 1.5 hours to walk up from the parking lot. If you see the scenery along the way, it basically takes half a day.

There are many old ladies in the mountains who can help carry luggage. They are strong and can help carry heavy luggage up and down the mountain for 40-60 yuan. If you are not in good physical condition, you can hire one, which can also support the economy of the people in the mountains.

The things sold in the village are not expensive and look very unique, but if you go out, you will find that there are similar things sold outside, so if you can't carry your luggage, you can go out and buy souvenirs.

The road leading into the village is prone to landslides in summer, so please be careful.

When we went there, it was rainy season and foggy, so we didn't see the sunrise, but we unexpectedly saw the sea of clouds, which was quite lucky. In short, all kinds of scenery have their own beautiful points, just experience them with your heart.

I have an incomparable affection for the Longji Rice Terraces.

The Longji Fields Terraces are truly charming in various ways. If possible, you can go there a few more times. Even if you just watch the sunset, you will have a completely different mood.

It took four hours to drive from Guilin city to Longsheng Terraces on a winding mountain road. I was like the god of driving in Akina Mountain, honking the horn while turning corners without slowing down. It was so fast and exciting that I still remember it vividly.

The ticket price for Guilin Longji Rice Terraces is 60 yuan (student ticket), but now it seems to have risen to 100 yuan. However, the season when we went there was not flooded, so it was not so shocking, and compared with the Yuanyang Rice Terraces we had visited, it was nothing compared to the big ones.

We went to Dazhai on the first day. We took the wrong road during the climb. The journey was difficult, but we finally reached the top. It was spectacular.

The next day after returning to Guilin was the last item of our trip. Go to Longji to see the terraced fields!! Actually, it is not the best season, but since we are here, we still go to worship the world-famous magnificent terraced fields. It turns out that it is not bad, just as a small mountaineering experience. The surrounding is full of lines, a bit bleak and cold in winter. I saw this purple fruit on the way and I loved it, such a beautiful color...

People say that there is nothing to see in Longji in November, but I think there are unexpected views in every season. Unfortunately, the weather was not good. It rained all morning and then fog came up. Many people stood at the observation deck with their cameras just for the moment when the clouds and fog were cleared. The Dragon's Backbone was majestic and gentle.

Facing the beautiful scenery, we don’t feel bad about pressing the shutter button, even if the picture is blurry, because we don’t make a living from photography, we just like walking, the camera is just used to freeze the mood of talking to nature at that time...

The itinerary for the day in Longji was also booked in Kaola. Because there were too many people in Jinkeng Dazhai the day before and the road was paralyzed, we went to Guzhuang Village. After lunch, we had 2 hours of free time. We visited many places and walked into the depths of the terraced fields. It is true that the terraced fields are more beautiful when you get close to them!

Beautiful terraced fields. I don't know about Dazhai, but the little fat guy and I were overwhelmed by the terraced fields in Guzhuang Village. We kept saying how beautiful it was. However, there were few people here. The locals took us on a small path. There were only four of us on the whole hill. I really wanted to shout, this hill is ours!!!

When you first arrive at Longji, after getting off the bus at Dazhai, you can walk a short distance before you see various villages. The distinctive buildings are all built with a kind of local tree. I have to say that the night sky of Longji is colorful, magical, and shocking.

We went to Dazhai. It is said that travel agencies all go to Pinganzhai which is closer. But everyone recommends going to Dazhai, so we went there. If you go to Dazhai, it is recommended to take a travel agency's car. Please note that it is only a car ride, not a group tour. It is 50 yuan per person. The luxury bus pick-up is better than going to the station by yourself and taking a bus and changing buses. It is only a few yuan more expensive and not troublesome.

Remind everyone to be cautious when traveling with a group. Many individual tourist groups in Guilin are scams.

The Zhuang grandmothers all make some handmade crafts at home, and this is also their source of income.

Longji Ping'an Village, a national first-class protected plant, Taxus chinensis. It's the first time I've seen it, and it actually has fruit, what an honor!

The Longji Rice Terraces are mainly inhabited by the Zhuang and Yao ethnic minorities. Dazhai Rice Terraces is the main settlement of the Yao ethnic group. It is the farthest of the terraces, but it is also the most scenic one. Dazhai Rice Terraces mainly includes three viewing platforms, namely Xishan Shaole (to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds), Qiancengtianti (to watch the spectacular scenery of the terraces) and Jinfoding (to watch the sunset). The distance between these three viewing platforms is a bit far, and it takes about an hour to walk. Almost all the houses in the entire scenic area are made of wood, and from a distance, they are composed of villages one by one.

In Longji, you will meet many people who help you carry your luggage, 50 yuan per time, you can bargain. The people who carry your luggage are all kinds of old ladies. There are many young people who can't carry their luggage, but they have to carry it up the mountain. I heard that the young people and men in Dazhai have gone out to work, so the locals in Longji are almost all these old ladies, and they still wear their own national costumes, unlike other ethnic groups that have been "assimilated". You can feel the local folk customs of Longji.

After entering the scenic spot ticket office and buying tickets, I found that I was still far away from the terraced fields. The terraced fields in Longsheng are divided into Area A and Area B, but only one area has a cableway (I think it should be Area B).

Let me explain the meaning of Dragon's Back. It is said that it is called Dragon's Back because the mountains and rivers there look a bit like a dragon's back. It is said that there are two dragon veins in China. Could this be a branch of the dragon vein?

The Longsheng Terraces Scenic Area is a bit like the Wulong I visited before. You have to enter the scenic area and then take the scenic area bus to enter the terraces sightseeing area.

We arrived at the Longji Scenic Area Administration Office at around 11 o'clock and bought tickets there, which cost 60 yuan in the off-season and 90 yuan in the peak season. We had booked a hotel in advance, and the owner sent someone to pick us up at the entrance of Dazhai Village. It was drizzling that day, and the mountains were shrouded in mist. We thought we could see the terraced fields, but the car continued to drive on the mountain road for more than an hour before reaching Dazhai. After entering Dazhai, we kept going up the mountain road, and the spectacular terraced fields with layers of green dots around the mountain were there.

The houses in the village are all made of wood, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, and mainly prevents moisture. The bamboo houses are built on the mountain without walls, which shows the simple folk customs of the local people.

The terraced fields as a whole look like a painting depicting three-dimensional pastoral scenery. Wherever there is soil, there are terraced fields, spiraling from the foot of the mountain all the way up to the top of the mountain. The charming curves can be seen everywhere.

However, after the car reached the foot of the mountain, the villages along the road and the terraces all over the mountain still attracted my attention deeply. So I did not take the car directly back to Longsheng County, but got off halfway and began to carefully appreciate the large villages along the way and the beautiful scenery on the mountainside.

After arriving at the hotel, I became excited again because I saw the irrigated terraces. Wow, haha, due to the previous disappointment, I am particularly satisfied now.

The scenery we saw while climbing the mountain was a bit disappointing because the terraces had not yet started to be irrigated and all we saw were terraces overgrown with weeds.

Finally we entered the Dayao Village Terraced Fields Scenic Area. After walking along the path for a few minutes, we saw a bridge across the stream. Going around or crossing the wooden bridge, the rice fields and villages appeared before our eyes.

It only takes a few minutes to walk from the small shed selling bamboo rice to the No. 2 Observation Deck. The scientific name of the No. 2 Observation Deck is the Thousand-Layered Ladder to Heaven. Looking down from the open height, the golden terraces really look like layers of colorful ladders to heaven, with quaint villages hidden in between. Even on cloudy days, this effect can be seen. You can imagine how beautiful it is when the sun is shining brightly.

From the top of Longji Mountain, there is a ridge that spirals down like a giant dragon to Jinjiang River. The entire Longji Ancient Village is located on the ridge of a giant dragon, symbolizing the prosperity of the entire village, and Longji got its name from this. There are huge ridges on both sides of the village, like two armrests of a chair. Longji Ancient Village is located in the middle, just like sitting on a dragon chair. The entire geographical environment of Longji Ancient Village is a rare Feng Shui treasure land in terms of Chinese Feng Shui.

The road from the county town to the scenic area is not very easy to walk on. It took us about 40 minutes to get to the parking lot. After packing our luggage, we started to prepare for climbing the mountain. When we entered the scenic area, we saw many women helping with backpacks. The prices ranged from 20-50. The Longji Rice Terraces are irrigated around the Dragon Boat Festival every year. At that time, the terraces are sparkling and the layers are more obvious. In summer, the terraces are green and layered, which is a different kind of beauty. The Yuanyang Rice Terraces are a great feat of the Hani and Yi peoples, while the Longji Rice Terraces are a great feat of the Yao and Zhuang peoples. Both are worth visiting and are touching.

 

Compared with the crowded Pingan Village, Guzhuang Village seems much quieter. The terraced fields in Guzhuang Village were first cultivated by the ancestors of the Zhuang nationality in the mountains. The lines are not as impactful as the Pingan terraced fields, but the terraced fields, vegetable fields and stilt houses are naturally scattered and intertwined in the mountains, giving it a primitive and simple atmosphere.

There is less noise here, and more of the simple life scenes of the villagers' daily farming and work. In addition to the terraced fields, more people are attracted by the buildings of the ancient Zhuang village, which together with the terraced fields between the sea of clouds draw a moving landscape painting.

The village is not big and you don't need a guide. You can walk into the ancient village along the stone path and appreciate the little-known scenic spots and historical sites of the ancient Zhuang village up close.

The rain god teased us along the way, sometimes stopping and sometimes coming, but it was a special experience to see the scenery in the rain. There were beautiful scenery all along the way, looking east and west.

The harmonious and peaceful terraced fields and the ecological environment of human settlements attract more and more tourists from home and abroad to come for leisure and vacation. People stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city, eat and live in farmhouses, release stress, get close to nature, and truly integrate into the "idyllic" life, which has become the first choice for Chinese and foreign tourists to Guilin.

The terraced fields are nice, but a bit too commercialized. In order to attract tourists, water was released in advance, and there were many people.

The bus arrived at the scenic spot ticket office around 10 o'clock. There were so many tourists that the parking lot was full of tourist buses. The women's toilets on the second floor were lined up on the first floor. Be careful when traveling during holidays.

It takes about 40 minutes to drive from the ticket office to Guzhuang Village. Because the winding mountain road is narrow, the travel agency's bus can only be sent to the ticket office, and then take the scenic area bus to go up. The beginning of the tragedy. . I was sitting in the car leisurely to enjoy the scenery, but suddenly I was called to get off the car. I was told that there were too many private cars coming to the scenic area today, and the roadside was full. The scenic area's minibus could no longer go up, and I had to walk the remaining half of the way. . .

Although the sun was already blazing hot near noon, we were still in good spirits because we had just started the trip and could also enjoy the mountain scenery.

After the water was released, Longji Ancient Zhuang Village showed its graceful curves and even more charm under the sunlight.

We took the winding mountain road to Guzhuang Village. I was so excited that I thought I could see the terraced fields with water flowing in! It turned out to be a big mistake! I believe the terraced fields below will be magnificent on a sunny day!

There is a village at the foot of the terraced fields, where many grandmothers earn money by helping tourists carry their luggage up the mountain.

It takes 1.5 hours to walk from Pingan Village to the parking lot of Guzhuang Village Terraces. You can take photos of the spectacular Guzhuang Village Terraces along the way. Guzhuang Village is more than 600 meters above sea level, with clouds and shadows, like a fairyland in heaven. Many scenic spots are still under development.
