It is a Miao village with hundreds of households, known as the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Song and Dance Art" and "One of the 100 Open-air Museums in China".
The Miao people in the village are characterized by long skirts, so they are also called "Long Skirt Miao". Langde Shangzhai has been listed as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units in my country.
The village is surrounded by mountains and rivers. Compared with Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, it is quieter and you can also enjoy toasting songs, Miao flying songs, reed pipe dances and other Miao songs and dances.

Langde Shangzhai is not very big, it can even be said to be very small. The village is also built on the mountain. Putting aside the fact that Langde has begun to be commercialized, it is still quite pleasant to walk along the stone road in the village. Walking on the quaint cobblestone road, quietly appreciating the unique stilt houses, and feeling its ancient and mysterious atmosphere. There is a performance in the square of Langde Miao Village about an hour later. If you are not in a hurry, you can wait and watch the performance.
I checked the guide before and it said that there is no entrance fee here, but it is not true. The shuttle bus will drop off tourists at the entrance of the scenic area, and there is indeed no one to guard and check the tickets, but the entrance of the scenic area is still a long way from Langde Shangzhai. If you don’t want to go in, you can only buy tickets and sightseeing bus tickets. (The ticket to Langde Shangzhai is 50 yuan, half price in the off-season is 25 yuan, and the ticket counter will ask if you want to buy a sightseeing bus ticket, whether to buy a one-way or round-trip ticket, 5 yuan for a one-way trip, and 10 yuan for a round-trip trip. I asked for a round-trip ticket, but when I entered the village, I found that it was completely unnecessary. There is a shuttle bus every hour at the entrance of Langde Shangzhai, and there will be many SF Express cars passing by on the roadside, so there is no need to worry about no car on the return trip).
When we arrived at the parking spot of Langdeshang Village, we saw from afar that there were many local residents wearing Miao costumes standing at the entrance of the village. I asked the driver and he told me that there are performances here at 10:30 am and 4:30 pm every day. Now this is the village gate welcoming guests, and next they will go to the bronze drum field for performances. If I hurry there, I can still catch it!
There were no other tourists in the performance venue except me and four or five videographers. Some old people in dark blue clothes sang a song I couldn't understand. I felt that this was a scary place! I took a quick look and hurriedly left the bell and drum venue...
After the performance, I wandered around the village. I didn’t pass by the B&Bs/restaurants/shops with a strong commercial atmosphere in the ancient village. Instead, I could see different scenery from the tourist viewing platform. I was more focused on the life atmosphere of the village. The villagers carrying bamboo sticks and the houses with smoke rising from the kitchen calmed my flustered heart and began to explore in depth. When I met villagers on the road, they would smile at me to show their friendliness! I began to like this place!
Every day at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., the whole village, young and old, waits at the village gate in their best attire, with smiles of joy that come from the bottom of their hearts.
When waiting at the entrance of the village, we occasionally bump into one or two tourists. Perhaps because there are too few tourists, we always greet each other or chat with each other.
The village gate reception started at 10:30. Their 12-course gate-blocking wine was a welcome gift. I had a chat with a Miao elder sister before and she told me that although it was rice wine, the alcohol content was not low. If you don’t know how to drink, you don’t have to drink it. Once, a foreigner got drunk after drinking their 12-course gate-blocking wine! Although I don’t know how to drink, I am curious about this custom and rice wine. I took a sip with the tip of my tongue. It was a bit bitter and not as spicy as ordinary white wine. I said thank you and said I couldn’t drink anymore. They didn’t force me...
After watching the welcoming ceremony at the village gate, this primitive ecology made me interested in performances again. I followed the large group into the bronze drum field and counted that there were 7 tourists in total. Except for me who was from Tangshan, they were all from Beijing!
Sit down and watch slowly. This is different from the performances in the big scenic spots. The whole village performs together. The scene is very shocking. It is said that this is the only place in Southeast Guizhou that restores the drum and Tibetan sacrificial performances on weekdays! Through the villagers, you can see the real history and culture of the Miao people... The trip to Langde ended perfectly.
On the banks of the Danjiang River at the foot of Leigong Mountain, Shangzhai is open to tourists. For some unknown reason, I began to particularly like this kind of life surrounded by mountains and rivers.
The center of Langde Shangzhai is the performance on the Lusheng field. The performance lasts not too long, about half an hour, and almost all the young and old people in the village have been mobilized. Toasting songs, Miao flying songs, Lusheng dances, bronze drum dances, bench dances, group dances, I envy their singing and dancing life while watching. While waiting for the performance, everyone is not idle. There is no backstage here, and all the actors' actions backstage can be seen. Mothers take care of their children, and old ladies chat while embroidering.
I heard that the largest Xijiang Miao Village is far less pristine than this one. It doesn’t seem to take long to visit a small village with 118 households. Even if I stay for a few days, I think I will find something new every day. During the few hours I spent in Langde Shangzhai, I was deeply moved by the friendly atmosphere.
There are not many people in Langde, and no tickets are required. When we entered the village, there were few people. We thought we had gone the wrong way. Later we found that everyone was watching bullfighting and playing Lusheng under the bridge. It is worthy of being called the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Song and Dance Art". I feel that the Miao villages all look the same. I wanted to find the ancient style in this undeveloped Miao village, but it was difficult! Just walk around, look and take pictures. I met them at the market by chance. There are many delicious foods. The rice wine and rice cakes are really perfect~~ Great, there is a cultural exhibition hall inside, which is good. You can go and have a look.
We arrived at Langde Shangzhai around 11 o'clock, and happened to encounter the Miao family's VIP etiquette "12 road-blocking wine". It usually starts around 11 o'clock in the morning. If you want to enter Langde Shangzhai, you have to go through the Miao family's VIP etiquette "12 road-blocking wine", starting from the road at the foot of the village to the entrance gate at the head of the village. The first one is the Miao girls holding ox horn cups, accompanied by reed pipe music, opening your first cup for good luck.
Although the Miao people are hospitable, they will not force you to drink. The lingering sound and laughter will last until the last stop of the road. The wine is not strong, and the sweet taste will linger in your mouth for a while after taking a sip.
At noon, traditional Miao songs and dances will be presented to the guests. The clear eyes and moving dance moves of the Miao girls will touch the hearts of the audience. Through such clear and thorough eyes, we can also see the simplicity and purity of the folk customs here, and everyone's face is filled with joy.
Finally, all the men, women, young and old in the village came on stage, formed concentric circles, and joyfully stepped to the rhythm of the bronze drums. Guests were also invited in one by one to enjoy this unique joy with the Miao people.
After the performance, you can visit the museum or try the local food and drink.
During the meal, the Miao girls will come over to toast, which is also a way for them to warmly welcome the guests. When toasting, do not touch the girl's hands and cups. If you touch once, you will be fined three cups. (At that time, we were friends. At first, I only touched the cup, so I was fined three cups. Later, I don't know why, I touched the girl's hand twice, and I was fined three times again. I don't know if the boy did it on purpose).
After dinner, I walked in the deserted alleys of the village and stepped on the cobblestone paths, which was leisurely and comfortable. The stilt houses, the symbol of the Miao people, were lined up and distributed in various places on the mountain.
There is a wind and rain wooden bridge in front of Langde Miao Village, spanning a small stream in front of the village. After crossing the wind and rain bridge, there is a viewing platform in front, where you can see the panoramic view of Langde.
Langde Miao Village is not very big and can be visited in one afternoon. You can walk along the roads left by time and through the small paths. If you want to experience the mountain life here, you can also stay here. There are several homestays here. Langde with the lights on is another scene.
According to the local custom, if you want to enter the village, you must first drink the twelve road-blocking wines before you can enter the village. Tourists who pass the wine card should generally put their hands behind their backs, bend down and touch the wine glass with their lips to take a sip to easily "pass the checkpoint". If you accidentally take or touch the ox horn cup with your hands, it will be a full glass of wine. You cannot enter the village if you don't finish it. Along the stone path, go straight ahead to the Lusheng performance venue in the center of the village. Coming here will surprise you with the simple and gorgeous folk characteristics, and various colorful Miao folk songs and dances are performed here. Since ancient times, the Miao people have been a nation that can sing and dance. Everyone can sing and dance. Songs and dances are accompanied by history and thousands of years of inheritance, vividly playing the living conditions of the Miao people. If you are used to modern songs and dances, you might as well walk into Langde Shangzhai to listen to the most wild, simple and rough Miao songs and dances. The Miao girls changed their dancing circles, then jumped to the center and then spread out to the periphery, just like the flowers in the garden blooming, or like colorful butterflies singing and dancing. Although these dancers are not professional dancers, the simple and unrestrained dance style and the joy from the heart of the dancers, the spectators on the side were infected by the lively singing and dancing, and couldn't help but join in. Going up is the residence of some local residents, and fresh farm vegetables are planted on both sides of the stone steps. Isn't this original ecological environment an ideal paradise? The green-tiled stilted wooden buildings are densely built on the slope of the col near the foot of the mountain, close to the mountains and rivers, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the lush forests and bamboos set off the quaint stilted buildings. The winding mountain road is hidden in the green forests and green vines, and the pleasant Miao flying songs echo in the wilderness from time to time. From their sincere and simple eyes, we can feel the truth, kindness and beauty of the local residents. The Miao grandmother wears reading glasses, but her embroidery skills are still so skilled. Miao embroidery is a long-standing handicraft art and is indispensable in Miao decoration. Whether it is clothing or headdress, the craftsmanship is complicated, but the workmanship is very fine. The Miao embroidery we usually see is very beautiful, elegant, simple and generous.
Langde Miao Village is a place that you must visit if you travel independently. It is not very commercial. The people who serve wine at the gate and perform are all villagers. The performance time is at 5 pm at the village gate.
Tips: (Hiking route) Langde Shangzhai is where tourists mainly go, with performances and homestays.
We happened to have dinner at a local restaurant at the entrance of the scenic area (Langde Xiazhai). The boss told us that there was a Xiazhai square behind the restaurant, as shown in the picture below. We walked along the square and stairs up the mountain (Olympic Road) and arrived at Langde Shangzhai in 20 minutes. The scenery along the way was beautiful, walking along the river. I met a local old man on the way and took the initiative to say hello. I didn't expect that the old man spoke Mandarin very well.
Every household in the village sells Miao embroidery, which is not expensive. The villagers are very simple and honest, and the elderly can sing and dance well.
Langde Town is 27 kilometers away from Kaili and 17 kilometers away from Leishan. It is also one of the key villages for ethnic customs tours in the eastern part of Guizhou. The Olympic flame once passed through here.
Langde Miao Village is divided into two natural villages, upper and lower. The upper Langde, also known as "Langde Upper Village", is open to the public. The Bala River flows in front of the village. There are many old houses in the village, which is a national cultural relic protection unit.
It used to be free, but now the ticket plus the round-trip sightseeing bus costs 60 yuan. I stayed here for one night, and the Miao village in the morning mist is absolutely beautiful. Compared with Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, this place is not very commercial, and I hope it will not become the second Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village.
There are two Miao villages that attract much attention near Kaili, the capital of Qiandongnan Prefecture. One is the famous Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, and the other is Langde Miao Village, not far from Xijiang. The former is larger, more well-known, and has more tourists. The latter is much smaller, and relatively speaking, has fewer tourists. It is only 20 to 30 kilometers from Kaili to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village or Langde Shangzhai, and the road conditions are OK.
Xijiang and Langde both belong to Leishan County, located between the provincial capital Kaili and Leishan County. Since it is more convenient to travel from Kaili, they are usually regarded as Kaili's attractions.
It is also very convenient to take a shuttle bus or charter a car from Kaili.
Langde, located in Leishan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, is a Miao village with hundreds of households. It is 29 kilometers away from Kaili City and 15 kilometers away from Leishan County Government. The ancient building complex of Langde Shangzhai has been listed as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units in my country.
Take the bus to Leishan from Kaili Bus Station and get off at Langdexiazhai intersection.
After arriving at the scenic spot, first scan the Guizhou health code, purchase tickets online (free), measure your temperature, and register your information.
Langde Miao Village is divided into the lower village and the upper village. The ticket gate of Langde Scenic Area is located in the lower village, and the tour usually goes to the upper village of Langde.
You need to take the scenic area bus (10 yuan) to get there from Xiazhai. It is only about 2 kilometers away, but you can also walk there in less than half an hour without taking the bus.
Langdeshang Village is located near mountains and beside rivers, surrounded by mountains. The quaint Miao wooden buildings are built against the mountains and are very layered.
Langde Miao Village is located in the hinterland of Miaoling, 27 kilometers southeast of Kaili City, Qiandongnan, Guizhou. It was built in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than 670 years. Langde Miao Village is divided into two natural villages, the upper and lower villages. Currently, the upper village is open to foreign tourists, so it is called "Langde Upper Village".
It really is a place that exceeds expectations. It is small and retains a certain degree of originality. The services and facilities are also good. You can have fun there in a very comfortable way. There are also many native Miao villages nearby that you can hike to. If you have time, you can stay here for two or three days.
It is a more commercial tourist area where every household has accommodation. It is best not to bring a suitcase with you. There are performances every day. The villages are all made of wooden structures and the scenic area is relatively complete.
It takes less than an hour to drive from Kaili city to Langde Shangzhai. The scenery along the mountain road is also beautiful. The ticket to Langde Shangzhai is 50 yuan per person, plus the sightseeing bus is 10 yuan per person for round trip. But in fact, you can drive in directly. There are performances in the Miao village at 10 am and 4 pm every day, which last about an hour. The local 12-course door-blocking wine with characteristics should not be missed, as well as the Miao dance and reed pipe, which are all very beautiful. The Miao village is still very primitive and does not have too much commercial flavor. After the performance at noon, everyone went home to make lunch. It is very interesting to walk around the village, and you can imagine their pastoral life.
Langdeshangzhai is nestled in the mountains and beside the water, facing north and back to the south, surrounded by mountains on all sides. Lush forests and bamboos set off the quaint stilt houses. There is not a strong commercial atmosphere here, so you can really experience the local customs and culture up close.
Langde Miao Village is a quiet and peaceful Miao village. Even in the peak season such as summer vacation, there are not many tourists. If you want to experience a slow life, you must come here.
Compared to Xijiang Miao Village, I prefer this Miao village in front of me because it is more original. When strolling in the village, I rarely meet tourists, but see more residents of the village, so it is most appropriate to use tranquility to represent it.
How to get to Langde Miao Village
Generally, you can take a bus from Kaili Bus Station (also called Kaiyunsi).
According to the station staff, there is currently only one bus running between Kaili and Miao Village every day, so the departure time is irregular.
However, there are other passing buses that will pass through Langde Miao Village, and you can take these passing buses. You need to ask the staff for details. I took the bus from Kaili Bus Station to Datang (Leishan), the ticket price was 17, and it took about an hour to get to Langde Miao Village (reaching Xiazhai). Because I got off halfway, I had to tell the driver in advance to avoid missing the bus.
Miao Village is divided into Upper Village and Lower Village. You can visit Upper Village and buy tickets at Lower Village. Then take the scenic area bus to Upper Village. The one-way bus costs 5 yuan and the round trip costs 10 yuan.
When traveling with a group, please note that many tour groups only go to the lower village (which is full of restaurants and various stalls), and do not take tourists to the upper village.
The performance is at the Shangzhai performance venue, starting at around 5pm and lasting half an hour. At the end of the performance, there will be rice wine for everyone to drink. If you don't know how to drink, don't try it, the alcohol content of the rice wine is not low!
In addition to the village itself, the Olympic Trail is also worth a visit. Starting from the Shangzhai rice fields, there are pastoral scenery all the way to the Xiazhai.
A niche destination. If you don't want to join the crowds, you can consider this destination. However, it is not suitable for staying. Half a day of attractions and itinerary planning is enough.
The scenery is just so-so, and I drank so much wine that I collapsed
The gate wine is a bit interesting. The village is not big and the performance time is not short. It is still a good experience
There are many handmade embroidery crafts in the village, and there are also old embroidery pieces collected by locals from other villages. The price is cheaper than that of Qianhu Miao Village. There are many elderly people embroidering in their spare time. If you are interested, you can take a look.
The buildings here are no different from those in other Miao villages, and the scale is far smaller than that of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. There are just some mottled stilt houses scattered along the mountain. Walking among them, it is very quiet. Rusty kerosene lamps are hung on the stilt houses, which creak when the wind blows. There are few people in the village. Occasionally, you can see a few aunts and grandmothers holding embroidery pieces. It seems that this place has been forgotten. As for the tourists who come to visit, I was probably the only one that day.
In order to take satisfactory photos, I got up at around four o'clock, washed, and climbed to the opposite mountain. I wanted to take pictures of the smoke rising from the village. I thought it would be beautiful with the glow of sunrise, but the village was surrounded by mountains and the fog was slow to dissipate.
If you want to see the largest Miao village community in the world, go to Xijiang.
The commercialization is not that serious and the scenery is nice.
It's just average. The village is not big. It's a bit deserted in the off-season. I feel there is nothing to see.
If you drive, you can only park in the parking lot of Xiazhai, which is a bit far from Shangzhai. The 5 yuan one-way shuttle bus is not cheap.
Just in time for the wine stop (10:30), good photos. Driving, did not dare to try the wine.
After entering the village, we continued to enjoy the singing and dancing performances at the Tonggu Square. There were dances, ancient songs, reed pipes, and high reed pipes. The girls were dressed in exquisite clothes and their dancing postures were very graceful. The performance was worth seeing.
You can rent Miao costumes in the village and take photos in the village. The price is very cheap and very cost-effective.
I walked around the village carefully. There are silver jewelry shops. There are also batik and embroidery experience shops. However, the batik experience takes a long time, so I tried tie-dyeing and gave up.
Compared with Xijiang Miao Village, it is more primitive, less commercialized, and smaller. The 12-course door-blocking wine is very unique. The song and dance performances are very good. I personally think the tickets are a bit expensive.
There were performances, divided into two sessions in the afternoon and afternoon. The performances were held in a small square with five or six rows of benches. There were not many tourists. There was also a rice wine drinking session during the performance. I was curious and had a little mysophobia, so I held the ox horn cup and poured it into my mouth. As a result, the girl who handed over the wine said that we have a rule here that we drink with our mouths and not with our hands. If we use our hands, we have to drink it all...
This village is really small. It takes less than 20 minutes to walk to the east, south, west or north. There are not many restaurants here. You can eat stir-fried dishes at the inn or order special banquets.
I went to three Miao villages: one with no business, one with a little business, and one with a lot of business. Generally speaking, Langde, which has a little business, is the best, and Xijiang is really terrible.
Langde actually belongs to Leishan County. I don't know why the hornet's nest is placed in Kaili.
To enter Langde Upper Village, you must first drink twelve road-blocking wines, and then walk along the stone path into the reed pipe field in the center of the village. In Langde, you will enjoy a variety of Miao folk songs and dances, including toasting songs, Miao flying songs, reed pipe dances, bronze drum dances, bench dances, and group dances.
Langde Shangzhai has three gates. The wooden buildings with blue tiles and stilts are built in a sparse and dense manner on the slope of the valley near the foot of the mountain. The wooden buildings have gable roofs and winding corridors. Most of the wooden buildings were built in the Qing Dynasty (1616-1911). Five flower streets lead to the village. There are two public entertainment places paved with cobblestones in the village - Lusheng Field. This is also a place for large-scale activities.
The reason for choosing it is that it is still a niche attraction, and its scale and fame are not as big as Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. But a niche has its own characteristics, it is quiet and less overdeveloped by business.
Langde Shangzhai is not very big. There are many local people in the village. We stayed in the homes of local people in the village. The houses are all wooden structures and very simple. It's just that the room and bathing conditions are not as good as those of star hotels, but the living environment is still very clean. It happened to be the National Day holiday, and the scenic spot arranged performances. There was also a bonfire party in the evening.
You can rent Miao costumes for taking photos in the village. It's very cheap, 10 yuan per hour, and you pay after you put on the clothes. No deposit is required. For me, this practice is really based on mutual trust. The people in the village are simple and honest. I hope it will not be contaminated by commercialization in the future.
Maybe it was too late and no one stopped me to collect the entrance fee. I suggest everyone buy tickets to provide some support for the local economic development.
The next morning, I had nothing to do and had no plans, so I just wandered around. I was a little nervous during the climb, because it was too quiet and there were few people. The mountain next to me was very high, and I was worried about rocks falling off, etc. I was looking forward to seeing different scenery. I looked back after walking up a distance, and it was really "there are people in the depths of the white clouds". I didn't have much knowledge, so I was filled with emotion at the time. The magical power of nature gave birth to a magical group of people.
The performance of the 12 gate-blocking wines at the entrance of the village starts at 10 a.m. Don't hold the ox-horn cup with your hands.
The performance is over. The whole performance ranges from little kids to grandmas and grandpas who are nearly 100 years old. Is it inheritance?
Before the performance, a cute little girl was chasing a dog. There was a small episode. A tourist's child kept crying, so the little girl gave her her QQ candy. When she dropped it, she gave her another one. I can't just use "simple", I want to use "pure". I was lucky enough to see this scene, so I should call it "happy". Fortunately.
There weren't many people during the Mid-Autumn Festival. After watching the performance, I wandered around by myself. It was a quiet village. I could see dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, hear pigs squealing, and see cow dung on the road. You may not like it, but it doesn't affect its existence.
We caught the earliest bus at 8 o'clock to Langde and arrived at Langde before 9 o'clock. At the ticket center, we met the black Miao tour guide girls from two nearby villages. We talked for a long time and learned about the history of this village. With the bilingual introduction manual that one girl was reading, I realized that there were so many stories about Langde Upper Village. Along the tributary of the Bara River, we went up the river, passed the high slope at the corner, and at three o'clock we saw Langde Upper Village standing on the hillside. From Langde Lower Village, on the way to Upper Village, the distance is 1.5 kilometers. It is recommended to walk to save the 5 yuan for the sightseeing bus. At 10:30, we waited for the opening of the twelve threshold wine ceremony at the entrance of the village. We followed the crowd into the village and took a tacky photo with the Miao girls. The most beautiful one was the one who served the wine in the third course. I didn't have the nerve to take a photo with her because I didn't drink at that time. However, I took a photo with the second most beautiful girl at the sixth course. I was very happy. The Miao boys and girls standing in a row on both sides of the village playing the reed pipe and dancing are so cute. The Miao girls at each of the twelve thresholds dress themselves up the most beautifully. After crossing the alley, you will come to the village cultural center or square, and start the Miao ethnic cultural program, playing the reed pipe, dancing the Miao dance, or the ceremony, with a strong ethnic style. In every gesture, the thousands of years of Miao history and culture are vividly interpreted, telling endless stories and charm... After the program, we went down to the fields, there were cockfighting, fishing, long table banquets, mountain streams, rice threshing, and all kinds of entertainment, which were so interesting. Walk through every corner, appreciate the beauty of this village from different angles, and taste the ancient, simple and natural Miao village for thousands of years. I am a little reluctant to leave, as if I haven't seen enough, I haven't seen it clearly, and I haven't appreciated her beauty thoroughly enough, and I am unwilling to give up. Living in a village deep in the mountains, there are rice fields, fish in the fields, trees on the hills, land for growing vegetables, and a pastoral life of herding horses, which is comfortable.
After getting off the bus, there is a schedule of various performances at the door, and you can watch them according to the time. We arrived late, so we could only watch some shows after 12 o'clock. Considering that there are many people, the scenic spot has added some performances. The ticket is 60 yuan, and the round trip of the battery car is 5 yuan each. It is recommended to leave a walking time according to the schedule, and there will be many unexpected gains. There is a game of catching ducks. It seems that if you catch a duck, it belongs to you. I think so. The cost of this duck is cheaper than hiring an actor, and it is more exciting. Overall, it is still quite colorful. The price is okay for the scenic spot. A bowl of jelly costs 9 yuan, ordinary mixed rice noodles cost 8 yuan, and soup noodles also cost 8 yuan.
When you arrive at the village gate, you need to buy sightseeing bus tickets and tickets. The ticket is about 60 yuan per person, I can't remember. The ticket seller said that if you go from Qianhu Miao Village to Langde, you can get half the price (if I had known this, I would have gone to Qianhu Miao Village first), until the end of this year. This place is basically full of residents of the village, not heavily commercialized, and this is also my favorite village, quiet and peaceful.
The ticket is not free, the original price is 60 yuan, the round trip sightseeing bus is 10 yuan. If you have been to Xijiang Miao Village, you can enjoy a discounted ticket of 20 yuan with your ticket. There are many villagers living in the village, and the performances are performed by villagers. They are all wearing real clothes. Watching the performances of the elderly is very shocking. It is not commercialized, which is much better than Xijiang Miao Village. Be careful of the fat lady selling accessories next to the pond. She is too good at doing business. If she fools you to her high mountain farmhouse, she will never miss the opportunity to rip you off.
The village was very quiet at night, and the roads were still a little dark. I think it must be completely different from the Xijiang Miao Village. Maybe it was really because the night was too dark and the roads in the village were too winding.
If you like quietness and are struggling to decide whether to go to Xijiang or Langde, if you trust me, go to Langde.
I knew before that to enter Langde Village, one must first drink twelve cups of gate-blocking wine, and then you can enter the village.
There is no independent restaurant in Langdeshangzhai. Basically, local residents provide accommodation and meals for guests, and people usually eat where they stay.
The village is small and quiet. Several families raise local dogs, and a small piece of terraced fields has been harvested in autumn...
Maybe it was because it was early in the morning, I only met a few villagers sporadically, and the village was very quiet... If I hadn't heard from the uncle last night that there was a performance, there would be no sign of a performance in such silence...
However, after the silence, it was almost time for the performance, and suddenly everyone in the village came out, breaking the previous silence...
Unexpectedly, the welcoming ceremony was attended by all the men, women, and children in the village, from babies in arms to toothless old ladies, all dressed up...
Men, women, old and young from the whole village gathered at the head of the village, prepared Miao rice wine, accompanied by the sound of reed pipes, ready to welcome guests. One by one, the wine was served at the gate, and I felt the irresistible hospitality of the Miao people... I accidentally drank nearly ten small cups of rice wine. For someone like me who never drinks, I realized that my alcohol tolerance is not bad until I came to the Miao village...
Men, women, old and young in the village formed a circle and danced to the sound of the reed pipe... After the performance, they all returned to their homes... After a while, the whole village returned to its previous quietness, and few villagers could be seen...
Although this small but exquisite scenic spot has some commercial development connotations, it has not destroyed the overall layout of the Miao village or diluted folk customs. The villagers' authentic performances make people linger.
Walking into Langde Shangzhai, you will see a very primitive small village. Every Miao family member living here looks very simple and honest. They will warmly welcome every guest from afar. When we arrived, there were not many people, almost no tourists, very quiet, and people were reluctant to share it. I hope that the people here will not be disturbed and can live a simple life.
There are five-color rice fields at the entrance of the village (I didn’t know how primitive and simple this place is until I went to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village). The music from the loudspeaker in the village indicated that the performance had begun. The Miao people’s clothes were very gorgeous. The most interesting thing was that these actors were residents of the village. They usually did their own things. When it was time for the performance, they changed into performance clothes. After the performance, each person received a badge. It was estimated that they would be paid according to the badge at the end of the month.
I looked around on China-TravelNote and found this original Miao village. I like this place very much. Maybe it's fate! It's also fate that brought me to Langde. I was attracted by the photos posted by netizens on the Internet. I am a particularly nostalgic person. I like things with a sense of history and original ecology, and I also like quiet and simple environment. This place satisfies me. There should be many Miao villages like this in Guizhou, but it is the only Miao village where the Olympic torch relay was passed in 2008. However, it does not have the hustle and bustle of Xijiang Qianhu, but only a strong atmosphere of life. The villagers are simple and enthusiastic, and the village is clean and primitive. On the way to Shangzhai, you will pass Xiazhai, which is relatively commercial, but there will be bullfighting, cockfighting, and pigfighting competitions from time to time. We saw the cockfighting competition. The children saw it for the first time and were very happy. At noon, we had dinner at a Miao family's home on the top of Shangzhai Mountain. The price-performance ratio is very high. The vegetables and meat are all from home. My classmate said that the bacon he ate that day was the best he had ever eaten. There are two singing and dancing performances every day, starting at 10:00 am and 4:30 pm. After lunch, we went to the small river in front of the village to play in the water. The river was very clear and the children didn't want to leave. At almost 4:00, we started to go to the square inside the village and wait for the performance time. In fact, the performances here are not professional, because the men, women, old and young in the village spontaneously perform for tourists, but I can feel their sincerity. It is the real original Miao style, and no fees are charged. When I saw the hunched old grandfather playing the reed pipe seriously, I was really moved to tears. There should be less than a hundred tourists in the village that day, but they were still performing very seriously. My children and I gave them the warmest applause. I think this is also the best way to educate children!
When you come to Langde Miao Village, you must first pass through their 12 gate-blocking wines.
While the Miao girl is toasting, the Miao boy is playing the Lusheng to welcome the guests. When the Miao girl is toasting, the guests should let their hands hang naturally and not touch the wine glass. If they touch the wine glass, the wine will not count and they will have to drink it again. After drinking, don't say thank you or anything, otherwise they will have to drink another glass.
A beautiful and clear river flows quietly at the foot of the mountain. It is because of this river that Langde Shangzhai got its name. It was sunny on the day we arrived. We took off our shoes and went straight into the water. Although I have been traveling, it is basically in places like Xinjiang and Tibet. It is rare to encounter such clean water in such a beautiful place. Each of us was as happy as a big child.
After dinner, I went to Lusheng Hall to watch the performance of the Langde Miao people. I always think that the performances of the Miao people are very good. After all, the girls in the Miao village are still very beautiful. And the performances are more heartfelt, unlike the perfunctory performances in the Dong village. The most interesting thing about these actors is that they are all the boss ladies or embroiderers of various shops. Anyway, there are all kinds of professions. When the time comes, they put down their work, put on Miao costumes and come out to perform, a bit like what we now call flash mobs.
The starry sky in the Miao village is very beautiful. I lie in the yard and stare at the sky with my mind empty, thinking of nothing, just staying there and listening to the sounds of nature. I really want to stay like this forever.
I fell in love with it at first sight. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and it was the place where the Olympic torch passed in 2008. The residents in the village are very simple and peaceful. They earn work points by singing and dancing. The ethnic flavor is stronger here.
The Miao village is well preserved and not overly commercialized. After staying there for one night, I was able to find the feeling of my childhood in the quiet country night.
The scenery here is picturesque, quiet and simple, which is in sharp contrast to the commercialization of Xijiang. When you walk among the mountains and forests, you can see fish swimming in the water. On the roadside, you can see rice planted in different colors. On the way to the village gate, the local villagers will hold a welcome ceremony and toast along the way. It's very enthusiastic. Enter this quaint village to visit the performances, blow tunes with leaves, perform with reed pipes, and finally the whole village comes out to perform in costumes. It's worth seeing.
This Miao village is a real Miao village, very simple and natural. Because it is an upper village, the village itself is not big. I really recommend it. I really feel the life of the Miao people. We arrived at 10 o'clock and could also see the Lusheng Miao dance performance.
Langde Miao Village consists of the Lower Village and the Upper Village. The Lower Village is the entrance to the Miao Village. Most people choose to take a sightseeing bus to the Upper Village. In fact, the Lower Village is only 1.2 kilometers away from the Upper Village. When my companions and I followed the mountain trail from the Lower Village to the Upper Village, the sightseeing bus of my little friend had just arrived. The scenery from the Lower Village to the Upper Village is still very charming.
During the long holidays, the Miao family ceremony starting at 4:00 p.m. every day is very lively. You can drink as much as you want at one time. You can also participate in the dance of the Miao girls. The singing of the octogenarians will make you feel the antiquity of the Miao village... The ancient building complex of Langde Shangzhai has been listed as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units in my country. At present, the commercial atmosphere is not strong, and it belongs to a niche tourist route, so it is very suitable for self-driving tours.
Langde Shangzhai is a place where you can experience the original Miao customs. Langde Shangzhai has implemented the public cent system and pays wages according to the public cents. The actors here are all amateurs. They welcome everyone at the door, perform in small performance venues, host the show, wash their hands and cook for everyone when they get home, and experience batik at home.
At present, the commercial atmosphere is not strong, and it belongs to a niche tourist route. Here, you will find that life can be so simple.
You can take a sightseeing bus to Shangzhai, or you can walk, which is about 1.5 kilometers. At that time, I didn't know that there was a performance in Langde Shangzhai and it had already started, so I chose to walk to experience the scenery along the way. When I got to Shangzhai, the performance just ended, and the afternoon performance was at 4:30. It was too late and I couldn't wait. I have to say that this is the only regret of this trip.
The performers were all villagers from the village. The women wore silver ornaments on their heads and wore blue and black Miao costumes, while the men wore black long gowns. It was the first time I saw real traditional Miao costumes. After the performance, everyone carried their instruments and went home. I rarely took photos of people, so I didn't dare to take them secretly, and I was embarrassed to stop them to take pictures, so I had to watch them leave. The tourists dispersed, and the villagers returned to their family life, leaving only the empty performance venue. Put down the heavy backpack, sit alone on the long bench, and feel it quietly. Here, no one knows you. Here, there is no excessive solicitation of business. If you pass by a store, the old woman will ask one more question, "Little girl, are you wearing Miao costumes?" After refusing, she will say nothing more. When you really come to Langde Shangzhai, you will find that it is just an ordinary Miao village, just because the Olympic torch passed through here that year. The local tourism department hopes to make it the second Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, but it has been tepid over the years, and only individual tourists come in twos and threes. There are several alleys around the performance venue leading to ordinary people's homes. At lunch time, every household was basically cooking in the house, and there were few people in the alleys. The whole village was filled with the unique smell of the countryside. While walking around, I saw a road sign indicating that there was an ancient well ahead, so I continued to move forward. I didn't find the ancient well, but I found this "ten-star civilized household". I couldn't help but secretly look inside the house. The lighting was poor, the facilities were simple, and there were occasional voices that proved that someone was living there. Such family conditions should be normal in Langde Shangzhai. It is really contradictory that people hope that the people can get rich with the help of tourism, but they also hope that the village will not be over-commercialized. Looking at the closed doors of the farmhouses along the road, it is inevitable to feel sad. When there were no inns, tourists reported that Langde wanted to develop tourism but the supporting facilities could not keep up. Now that so many inns have been opened, the passenger flow cannot keep up. A year and a half ago, there was no entrance fee here, but now it costs 60 yuan. The locals told me that the price was expensive, so there were no guests coming, because Xijiang was only 100 yuan. In my opinion, the biggest reason for the small number of tourists is inconvenient transportation. Compared with Xijiang, Langde Shangzhai is unusually deserted. Even if I came here before Xijiang, I still felt it was too deserted. In the past few hours, I once questioned my choice. It seemed that I shouldn't have gone to such great lengths to come here, because the village is very small and can be roughly visited in half an hour. You can look up and see the wooden house on the top. However, when I arrived in Xijiang, I realized that only an undeveloped village like Langde can make people truly feel the original flavor of the Miao village.
If you want to see an authentic Miao village, don't go to Xijiang!!! Don't go!!! Go to Langde nearby. There are not many people there, and the folk performances are more interesting. The key is that it is really inhabited by locals. Although I can't understand their conversation, I am very happy. At least when you take pictures in Miao costumes, your background will not be full of people...
Arriving at Langde, the feeling was much better than Xijiang!!! There were very few people, no need to queue up for the bus, just go there. Wearing Miao costumes, you can take as many photos as you want, and you can't take photos of many people at all! The key is that you can see a lot of folk customs. Although they also perform and have commercial things, they are all aboriginals. The performance started at 10 am, and everyone came out to greet them in their best clothes, including men, women, young and old. First, there were 12 door-blocking wines, then performances, and finally a long table banquet.
The performers were all the original inhabitants of the village. The old ladies were very cute. They performed on stage and shaved their shoes when they left. When it was their turn to perform, they tied a plastic bag around their waists. They were very cute. Hahahaha. Some old ladies ran to their small shops at the entrance of the village to continue selling after the performance. You could see a lot of everyday things. This is what I want to see.
If I hadn't been running out of time, I would have worn Miao clothing and taken a group of photos. However, the dinner was waiting.
I strongly recommend that you stay in Langde for one night and take some photos.
If you want to experience the Miao customs, you can choose to go to Langde Shangzhai. The village is not big, with only a hundred households and not many tourists. There are old bluestone roads under your feet. You can stroll along, stop and go, and rent a local dress, which is beautiful, with flying skirts. Accompanied by the pleasant sound of silverware colliding, your steps will also become lighter. At 10:30 in the morning and 4:30 in the afternoon, there are enthusiastic twelve-door wine in the village, as well as authentic Miao song and dance performances, Miao flying songs, reed pipe dances... There are no professional actors, all performed by the villagers themselves. Living in the unique stilt house of the Miao family and eating a long table banquet is what you imagine the Miao family to look like.
Because of Gu Jian II, I reluctantly gave up countless still peaceful Miao villages and came to Langde.
Langde is divided into Shangzhai and Xiazhai, separated by a road of more than one kilometer. They are two different places. Xiazhai is undeveloped, so tourists come to visit Shangzhai. Xiazhai is next to the provincial road, while Shangzhai has to turn from Xiazhai into an unknown road and walk more than one kilometer. Therefore, according to the current planning of the scenic area, all tourist vehicles are controlled in Xiazhai. The scenic area has built an intangible cultural heritage street next to the provincial road in Xiazhai, with a small museum and underground parking lot. Tourists must buy tickets at the tourist center in Xiazhai first, and then walk more than one kilometer to visit Shangzhai. You can also take the scenic area's sightseeing bus for more than one kilometer, which costs 5 yuan per person.
For those who drive themselves, there are several options for parking. The most popular way is to park in the designated underground parking lot of Xiazhai, and then buy a ticket and walk to Shangzhai. But this parking lot costs 3 yuan per hour, and the maximum fee is 30 yuan per day, which is expensive! The second option is to find an open space near the Xiazhai Visitor Center. I saw parking spaces under the bridge and in the small square. They are free, but no one is responsible for safety. The third option, in theory, the car cannot be driven to Shangzhai, but after dinner, when the staff get off work, no one will take care of it. At this time, you can drive the car up. There is also a parking lot behind Shangzhai, which seems to cost 20 yuan per time. The third option can save you from the more than one kilometer journey, but you have to arrive later.
The above is about the arrival strategy. Then let's talk about the commercialization of Langde Shangzhai. Everyone has a different understanding of commercialization. The comments on China-TravelNote generally say that this place is very simple and not commercialized. But in my opinion, the mineral water here is three yuan a bottle, the simple accommodation is 180 yuan a night, and the sour soup fish is 60 yuan a catty. This is higher than the price level in Kaili City, which is already quite commercialized. (The village provides a long table banquet for 40 yuan per person. If you like this atmosphere, you can go and experience it, but from what I have seen, the portion of the dishes is pitifully small) I bought a bottle of water for 2 yuan in Guilin last month. There are already dozens of inns in such a small village as Langde. The village has also received a lot of money to build and pave the road, and it also charges admission. There is no doubt that this place has been fully commercialized. It's just that the commercialization here has not been excessive. The residents of the village still do some small businesses themselves. When you come here, you can still see the simple life of the locals. You can see children playing in the fields, buffaloes diving in the stream, and old ladies sharpening knives on the steps. But the number of tourists is already a lot for this village. On Wednesday, August 15, the accommodation in the village was basically full.
Finally, let's talk about the village itself. It exceeded my expectations and is indeed a very artistic place. For a fairy tale fan, whether it is the path winding through the terraced fields leading into the village, the small stone square surrounded by stilt houses, or the weeds growing on the stone slabs in the small square, they all look like the world in the game. Sitting in the small square at night and enjoying the breeze, I feel like I am in Qingmuju!
At least this is a place where you can pay to see the real thing, but for me, it feels like I came too late. Now that the TV series of Gu Jian 2 has started, it will be even more inappropriate to come in the future.
I went there on the way. Because there were too many people in Xijiang Miao Village, I changed to Langde Miao Village. I thought there would be a surprise, but I was disappointed. There were indeed few people, but I really couldn't complain about the 60 yuan ticket. No wonder there were no more people. The Miao Village is very small, and it's stress-free to visit it in half an hour. The scenery is not beautiful, but it always feels like something is missing. The local residents' business is bleak, which is a pity.
It is not as large as Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, but it is more simple and not yet commercialized. The local villagers live a leisurely life and occasionally open their doors to welcome tourists from other places to eat sour soup fish and stay in Miao Village. The accommodation is very cheap, the hardware is relatively poor, but it has a strong local flavor.
Quiet and lovely, Langde Shangzhai
After 7:30 pm, you can drive into Shangzhai. Turning a corner, you will see a small village that looks like a paradise. Park the car, take your luggage and slowly walk to the inn. The village is surrounded by mountains and rivers. The moist air, mixed with the fragrance of rice, hits you in the face. You can hear the croaking of frogs and birds. I booked a stilt house with a view, which costs less than 130 yuan per room. The surprise is that there are no mosquitoes to bother me. I opened the window all night and slept well.
Wandering around in the morning, going into the Miao grandmother's house, changing clothes, 20 yuan per person, to not affect the performance, must be returned before 9:30, all kinds of art, narcissism, and show-off... The performance starts on time at 10:30 and ends around 11:30... The long table banquet is on the Fengyu Bridge, and the meal starts at 12 o'clock...
Because I wanted to visit other Miao villages nearby, I regretted not playing in the water. The stream was crystal clear, with children playing, adults bathing, and buffaloes swimming...
What is worth remembering is the honey-like villagers, who did not overcharge customers or ask for exorbitant prices, and everyone bought satisfactory souvenirs. I ordered a bowl of noodles in the morning, but I didn't expect to be served a large pot with 2 fried eggs, tomato egg soup, chili sauce... 12 yuan, and the boss also said that you can eat as much as you want.
Around 12 o'clock, I went to the nearby Nanhua and Jidao Miao villages. The hygiene and environment were not as good as Langde. I almost couldn't find lunch... For outsiders who want to experience the Miao people, a slow tour in Langde is enough...
Langde Miao Village is divided into upper and lower villages. Generally speaking, the upper village is mentioned because this is where the Olympic torch passed. It is a relatively primitive village where you can experience the simplicity and hospitality of the local residents. The daily welcoming ceremonies and performances show the local culture and characteristics to the fullest. You can also taste the local rice wine, but don't drink too much!
There are two welcoming ceremonies every day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. No matter what, you must experience it, it will really leave you with an unforgettable experience. When drinking rice wine, don't use your hands to hold the cup (I only learned this later, because we are all outsiders, and the Miao people don't care much about it). After the welcoming ceremony, you can enjoy the Miao performance. Although the scene is not very large, what you see is indeed authentic.
Langde Miao Village is divided into the upper village and the lower village. The upper village was once famous because it was the place where the Olympic torch passed in 2008. However, because the transportation is not very convenient and the scale of the Miao village is not as large as thousands of households, it has gradually declined as a tourist attraction. There are very few tourists in the scenic area, even on holidays, and the original ecological landscape of the Miao village is preserved, but there are also businesses that provide food, accommodation and rent Miao costumes, and there are also special performances on a regular basis. The ticket price seems to be 60 yuan/person, and you need to take a sightseeing bus from the main gate to the scenic area, which also costs money. After all, the village is small and there is nothing to see, but sometimes I like this sudden slow pace of tourism. I sat alone on the goose soft stone by the stream and looked at the blue stream for a long time. It was very comfortable. I remember that when I was making the strategy, it seemed that I said that the lower village could overlook the terraced fields. If you are interested, you can spend more time to have a look. It costs 10 yuan/person to rent clothes here, there is no time limit, and it is comfortable to take pictures with few people
I originally planned to go to Qianhu and Langde, but I heard from the tourists I met that Qianhu was overloaded with passengers, there were too many people, and it was completely commercialized. I gave up. I only came to Langde to catch the performance at 4:30 pm, drank all the way up and then watched the performance. It was really nice, the villagers were simple and the scenery was primitive. I hope it will not be commercialized and maintain the ethnic customs. I stayed for one night at night, right in the square, the 120 standard room also has a private bathroom, which is really good👍It’s just that the tourists next door kept talking, and it seemed that they finally made a fuss. The accent sounded like Chongqing. I am from Sichuan, and I can still roughly distinguish the accents of different regions. It’s really speechless. I didn’t fall asleep until 12:30 in the evening. I hope to bring my parents back in the future. Guizhou tourist tickets are half price for ten provinces, which is really cost-effective.
You have to catch a performance, otherwise it will be meaningless. It's still a good idea to go there on the way. It can better reflect the original Miao life than Xijiang. The Miao village is relatively small and you can probably finish the tour in half an hour!
The smiles here are more sincere, there are fewer tourists, and the river here is very clear!
When you arrive at Shangzhai, you can see a landmark stone with the words "The place where the Olympic flame passed - Langde Shangzhai" written on it.
Langde Shangzhai is a place where Miao people live in large numbers. Many Miao people live in houses that are built close together on the hillside. Miao villages are all made of wood, so fire protection is very important.
There are two Miao singing and dancing performances every day in Langde Shangzhai. For this small Miao village, the scale is very large. It seems that all the people in Langde Miao Village are mobilized to participate in the performance. After the performance, I saw someone handing out a plaque to each performer. I guess there is a subsidy for the performers.
As soon as we arrived, the people in the village were dressed in Miao costumes, women holding rice wine, men playing reed pipes, standing outside the village to welcome us. After drinking the welcome wine, we went to the village to watch the performance, which was worth seeing. It is still very cheap to buy special items in the village, which is about ten yuan more expensive than other places.
Highly recommended
It only costs 10 yuan to take a bus from Kaili Kaiyunsi to the entrance of the scenic area, which is Xiazhai. There is a sightseeing bus for 5 yuan to take you to Shangzhai, which is only about one kilometer away. I walked in by myself.
There are free drinks and singing and dancing performances every morning and afternoon.
Most tourists come and leave after watching the show, and few stay overnight. The bed room I stayed in was like a single room for myself, which was very comfortable.
Compared to Xijiang, there is less commercialization here, which suits my vacation mentality.
The bayberry soup at the performance venue is great.
I saw some people doing embroidery.
Those who wash cloth by the river are living the life of the locals.
The Koni Miao family where I stayed was just to the left of the village gate. The owner's braised grass carp was delicious, and the homemade rice wine was also very good.
The boss also cultivates his own farmland, and sometimes the boss's wife herself participates in singing and dancing performances.
It feels very real here, full of life.
The weather was very good on the day we went to Langde, and the water in the small river next to it was also very clear! People who go to Langde are all here to see the ancient town and the Olympic commemorations. There is a scenic spot called the sacrificial platform. I took the wrong road and went to another hilltop to see the entire ancient town and the scenery on the other side of the mountain. Finally, I found the viewing platform and picked wild bayberries on the roadside.
The twelve gate-blocking wine tasted good, but the wine was too light and had a big neck, so 6 cups were not enough. Langde saw many Miao girls and traditional pure wooden stilt houses, which were simple and quaint.
Compared with Xijiang, Langde is more down-to-earth. In terms of architecture, Langde almost retains the appearance of the original stilt houses, while most of the stilt houses in Xijiang are brick-concrete structures, and the later repair work is very obvious.
The whole village is not big and you can visit it in about half an hour. We spent a full hour there!
The Bronze Drum Square is where they dance during festivals. Every village, big or small, has a Bronze Drum Square.
We set out from Guiyang at 4am and drove all the way to Langde. We arrived too early and the ticket seller hadn't started work yet. We drove into the scenic area smoothly. We visited the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall and then entered the embrace of Shangzhai. We passed the village and came to the rice fields of the Miao family. We faced the wind and listened to the singing of insects and birds.
Compared with Qianhu Miao Village, I prefer this place because it has more life and is more primitive. There is not so much commercial atmosphere.
Langde Shangzhai ticket is 60 yuan, and the round trip sightseeing bus is 10 yuan. At 10:30 and 16:30 every day, there will be twelve gate-blocking wine and Miao original ecological song and dance performances. We just caught up with the villagers, no matter men, women, young or old, they all came out to the village gate to greet us.
The most difficult road we traveled on this self-driving tour was from Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village to Langde Shangzhai. The road was extremely difficult to drive on, as it was all unpaved gravel roads. We were driving an old Cruze, and driving on it was like driving a tractor. We were tossed around so hard that we were almost in ecstasy. This was the case with only two of us. If it was fully loaded, even our breakfast would have been tossed out. Not only was the road bumpy, but the ups and downs were also particularly large. There was a section of the road where we drove from top to bottom and we couldn't even see the situation below clearly. Everything was done by feel. So I suggest that if you have the conditions, you should rent an SUV. There are so many ups and downs in Guizhou.
Today we are going to Langde Shangzhai. From the guide on China-TravelNote, it seems that this is a free attraction. But after we actually went there, we found that it is now charged. Then we looked at the time in the guide: 2015. Well, if you have poor eyesight, you will be at a disadvantage. It turned out that it was free three years ago. Now there is a charging booth at the entrance and a large underground parking lot. There are also sightseeing buses connecting from Xiazhai to Shangzhai.
Compared with the strong commercial atmosphere of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, Langde Shangzhai seems to be smaller and fresher, with a very original feeling and a less strong commercial atmosphere. Although it is located in a remote area and the transportation is not very convenient, you can see the real daily life of the Miao people here, and it is also the place where the Olympic torch passed, so it is still worth a visit.
Needless to say, it's a good place worth visiting
(I don’t know what to say to those who are very dissatisfied with the entrance fee. This is part of the villagers’ economic income. There are not many shops here. They put in a lot of effort to perform. You can find out whether it is worth it by going to those rip-off attractions. If you really need those tens of dollars, don’t come out to travel.)
There is a welcoming ceremony at 10:30 am and 4:30 pm every day. The elder sister in the village will serve 12 rounds of wine.
This wine is very strong. I drank a big gulp in the afternoon and lay down until about 8 o'clock in the evening. Then I would go to the performance venue to dance.
The village is not big, but very comfortable. The villagers are very friendly and will greet you proactively. The prices are not high, so I can't bear to leave.
Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is over-commercialized, similar to Lijiang. If you are traveling, come here. If you are sightseeing, go to Qianhu Miao Village.
(Because of the disagreement among the villagers, there is no bonfire party now. It may only be held during major festivals.)
The village is particularly quiet at night.
And a sky full of stars.
Listening to the sound of running water, walking in the bluestone-paved alley,
It would be great if you were there too.
Friends who have been to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, if you have time, I really hope you can go to Langde Shangzhai (more than 20 kilometers away from Xijiang) to stay for a night to experience the real Miao village's wooden houses and simple villagers. There are only a few shops in the whole village. People are chatting, and dogs are basking in the sun next to them. It feels peaceful and tranquil. If you don't mind, you can also stay in the villagers' homes.
A very small Miao village now charges 60 yuan for tickets, plus 10 yuan for sightseeing bus tickets, which is not worth it. If you have seen Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, you don't have to waste time here. It only takes about half an hour to visit the whole village. There are two scenic spots on the mountain that are not recommended. One is called the ancient trench. After climbing the mountain road for half an hour, there is a hilltop covered with weeds and a tomb. The other one seems to be called the sacrificial site. We met a villager on the way and asked him. He said it was still far away and you couldn't walk there... Finally, I would like to add that if you drive from Xijiang Miao Village, the road conditions are very bad. SUVs and off-road vehicles can barely cope with it, but cars will scratch the chassis. If it rains, the road conditions will be even worse. When we went there, the weather was good, and it took two hours to drive more than 20 kilometers.
The Miao costumes are very beautiful. The aunt was enthusiastic. When I went there, it happened to be the time when National Geographic was filming. 😁ヽ( ̄ω ̄( ̄ω ̄〃)ゝ
Very quiet and beautiful small village, but unfortunately there is no car from Kaili to Langde during the Spring Festival. You can only go to Leishan County and share a car with others. It is not expensive to rent a Miao costume for 10-20. It takes a long time to eat in the local area, and the cooking speed is so slow. There are only 2 tables and 3 people in total, and it takes more than half an hour to cook. It is only suitable for leisurely travel. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay there for a week to experience this pastoral life.
