There is a water curtain cave road behind the Huangguoshu Waterfall. The special thing about the water curtain cave is that you can pass through the back of the waterfall. When you pass through the cave, you can reach out and touch the turbulent water. Outside is the deafening sound of the waterfall, and a few drops of cold spring water fall on your head from time to time. However, it is best to bring your own raincoat or umbrella, after all, there will still be water dripping in the water curtain cave, and the cave is slippery, so you must walk carefully.
After taking a close look at the Huangguoshu Waterfall, we will enter the Water Curtain Cave where the Monkey King rose to power in Journey to the West.
The entire Huangguoshu Waterfall cascades down, and the cliff behind it naturally forms this open paradise behind the waterfall. This is also the beginning of the Monkey King becoming the Monkey King and subduing the little monkey.
Wear a raincoat and walk through the cave. The lights shine down on the colorful stalactites. From time to time, you can see the natural water curtain of the waterfall. The sound of the waterfall splashing on the stone wall echoes. Imagine the scene in Journey to the West when the Monkey King jumped into the Water Curtain Cave for the first time. You can't help but marvel at the magic of nature.
Huangguoshu Waterfall can be said to be the name card of Guizhou tourism and also a focus of Guizhou tourism. In previous years, during the peak season, the number of tourists to Huangguoshu was basically rubbing shoulders with each other. It is said that it takes a long time to queue up for the shuttle bus. Moreover, Huangguoshu Waterfall consists of three major scenic spots: Doupotang, Dapu Waterfall and Tianxing Bridge. It takes at least 6 to 7 hours to visit all of them. It would be very tiring to visit them in one day. The tickets to the scenic spots are valid for two days. Therefore, considering the limited physical strength of the elderly and children, the three scenic spots are deliberately divided into two days of tour. On the first day, due to limited time, we visited the relatively simple Doupotang Scenic Spot. On the second day, we went straight to Dapu Waterfall early in the morning and went to Tianxing Bridge after playing. This saves physical strength and avoids the crowd. It was already 4 pm when we arrived at Huangguoshu. Due to limited time, we chose the Doupotang Scenic Spot closest to the gate as our first stop. Since my wife and I are registered in Shanghai but our ID numbers are from other provinces, online ticket booking cannot be recognized. We need to go to the gate of the scenic spot to buy tickets directly to get free tickets. At that time, I was very worried that the Huangguoshu tickets would be sold out in advance, and I couldn’t get in on site, which would affect the entire trip. Later, I confirmed with the scenic spot several times. The scenic spot staff was very patient and said that our situation was very common. We needed to buy tickets on site and guaranteed that there were tickets. Even so, I was still a little nervous, but when I arrived at the scenic spot, it was true. The manual ticketing was very easy to get. The good thing about Huangguoshu and Longgong scenic spots is that children under 1.4 meters are free of tickets and transportation tickets. Huangguoshu scenic spot must take a sightseeing bus, and private cars are not allowed to pass. The scenic spot’s sightseeing bus is one-way, that is, the gate-Doupotang-Big Waterfall-Tianxing Bridge-Big Waterfall-Doupotang-Gate. All cars will follow this route, unless there are special periods, such as when there are a lot of tourists, there will be direct buses to each scenic spot.
There is a cave behind the water curtain of Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is 40 to 47 meters high and 134 meters long. It is the Water Curtain Cave. If you come to Huangguoshu Waterfall but don't go into the Water Curtain Cave, you won't be able to truly appreciate the magnificence and grandeur of Huangguoshu Waterfall, which will be a great pity.
Because the space inside the cave is limited, you need to queue up to enter the Water Curtain Cave, and you cannot go back. During the peak tourist season, you often need to queue up for more than an hour and a half to enter the Water Curtain Cave. When we came, the waterfall flow was still relatively large. The water of the Huangguoshu Waterfall rushed down from the cliffs more than 70 meters high. Even if it was not raining, you had to hold an umbrella to move forward. Therefore, it is known as the "Silver Rain Sprinkling Gold Street". Electronic devices that are afraid of water should be used with great caution. There are many vendors selling raincoats at the entrance of the Water Curtain Cave. If the water vapor is too strong and the queue is long, it is recommended to buy a raincoat, otherwise you will really become a drowned chicken.
The Huangguoshu Scenic Area is very large, including three scenic areas: Doupotang, Tianxing Bridge and Huangguoshu Waterfall.
The order of my tour is Huangguoshu Waterfall, Water Curtain Cave, Doubotang and Tianxing Bridge.
It takes a whole day to complete all three tours. I got on the scenic area sightseeing bus at around 7:00 in the morning and left the scenic area at around 5:30 in the afternoon.
There are only three places worth visiting in the entire scenic area, in short, the three waterfalls. The Tianxing Lake Water Forest and other attractions that we passed while walking are completely uninteresting and feel like small attractions that are just there to make up the numbers.
The first is the Great Falls (including the Water Curtain Cave. Remember to follow the official WeChat account in advance. Sometimes the Water Curtain Cave may be closed due to heavy rain.)
The second is Doubotang Waterfall, which is said to be the location for the 1985 version of Journey to the West where the four masters and apprentices led their horses across the river.
The third is the Silver Chain Falling Pond Waterfall at Tianxing Bridge (you will pass by Tianxing Cave on the way, so if you are interested in caves, you can go in and take a look)
Tianxing Lake is the dividing point between the upper and lower parts of the Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area. Personally, I feel that there is nothing interesting or fun to see in the upper part. Anyway, I was concentrating on walking and didn’t take many photos.
Generally, tour groups will leave the scenic area through the exit next to Tianxing Lake after reaching it, but the most salient attraction of Tianxing Bridge, the Silver Chain Falling Pond Waterfall, is in the lower half, so if time permits, you must visit the lower half.
You must wear a raincoat when passing through the Water Curtain Cave, otherwise you will become a drowned chicken.
Raincoats are sold inside and outside the scenic area, and the prices are similar.
The Water Curtain Cave is very interesting, but it will be super crowded during peak hours and you may have to queue for an hour or two.
So you either go to the falls early in the morning when the tour group hasn't arrived yet, or you go to the falls around four in the afternoon when the tour group has already left.
The waterfall is very spectacular, but it should be noted that there is a lot of water vapor and dripping nearby, so bring shoe covers and raincoats, and be careful to protect your camera.
Be sure to walk to the back of the Water Curtain Cave, where you will experience a different view. When the weather is good, there will be a rainbow when you turn around the mountain.
The cave inside the mountain behind Huangguoshu Waterfall. Friendly reminder to bring a raincoat
Watching the waterfall in the Water Curtain Cave, pouring down from above our heads, everyone exclaimed in unison: Ah! It's so spectacular!!!
The Water Curtain Cave is located in front of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, like a long dragon lying behind the waterfall. Visitors can view the waterfall from six directions: front, back, left, right, up and down; they can also reach out from behind the waterfall and touch the cascading waterfall, which is unique in the world. Through the waterfall in the Water Curtain Cave, you can see the surrounding unique and magnificent scenery from a unique perspective, which is an incomparable feature of the Huangguoshu Waterfall.
Enter the cave from the tourist trail, and stand in it, with water curtains pouring down from the top of your head. Looking out through the crystal clear waterfall, you can see the green mountains, trees, tourists, and teahouses across the waterfall... It's hazy and vague, looming, as if you are in a fairyland on earth, with endless fun.
The Water Curtain Cave is very interesting. Behind the Huangguoshu Waterfall, there are several cave windows. Looking out from inside, you can see the water curtain cascading down. You can wear a raincoat or you will definitely get wet. Climb up along the road next to the Rhinoceros Pond and don't go back.
The scenery is nice. When I went there in July 2018, the water was huge and the waterfall was spectacular.
Looking down at the waterfall from here, it has become a ferocious beast, charging forward. On the sparkling green water surface, the splashing water dances with the wind in the air. The sun shines on the water droplets, and a rainbow appears and disappears from time to time, like a timid girl who dares not step out of her boudoir. I am always looking forward to her appearance, maybe we will meet again next time!
This is the most fun. It is like entering a waterfall, just like Sun Wukong. Here, our family is the king.
It is recommended to admire the waterfall from the bottom, and then walk up to the Monkey King's residence - Water Curtain Cave. Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area: The waterfall is 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide, making it the largest waterfall in Asia. It is recommended to enjoy it slowly, and you can enjoy the waterfall from six angles: front, back, left, right, and up and down.
If you take the elevator to the Niagara Falls, um, or to be more precise, the escalator, it actually only takes half an hour, and even if you walk the entire way, it will probably only take an hour.
The escalator of the Great Falls has a high drop, which also saved us a lot of time
The waterfalls at different angles on the mountain and below have their own beauty
Walk into the Water Curtain Cave, and watch the crystal clear water flowing down, looming and appearing, just like a fairyland on earth. If you want to touch the waterfall in person, you can put on a raincoat and walk through the Water Curtain Cave, which is quite interesting. It is recommended to buy a raincoat before entering the scenic area.
When we arrived at the waterfall, the weather was great! So the scenery was much better! But unfortunately, we still didn’t see the rainbow! It was really shocking! It is worthy of being the largest waterfall in China!
If you want to go to Water Curtain Cave, the reference route is: Bonsai Garden-Lotus Pond-Xuanyuan Road-Xiangbi Road-Water Curtain Cave-Huaguoshan Road-Cross the suspension bridge-Rhinoceros Pond-Rainbow Road-Xuanyuan Road. You can take the escalator during the trip, which costs 30 yuan for a one-way trip and 50 yuan for a round trip. You can see the waterfall from afar on Xuanyuan Road, and it is best to take pictures of the waterfall at Rhinoceros Pond.
What is amazing is that behind the Huangguoshu Waterfall is a deep natural water curtain cave, with stalactites of various shapes and water dripping everywhere. Looking out of the water curtain cave, the white rapids pour down from the blue sky, just like fairies scattering flowers. The crystal water drops look like pearls under the sunlight.
After getting off the escalator and going up the Baishui River, you can hear the rumbling sound of water from afar, see the rising rain and fog, and the gongs and drums start the performance, which is very impressive. When you get to the third viewing platform in front of you and see the waterfall, you will be shocked. You can see the grand waterfall like the Milky Way bursting, pouring down from the sky and pouring into the Rhinoceros Lake. The clear water hits the rocks and the water surface, making a rumbling sound, which is breathtaking. The waves stirred up by the water surface are like thousands of horses stumbling and thousands of troops falling to the ground, which is magnificent and eye-catching. The mist stirred up by the waterfall spreads to the opposite peak, which is a combination of movement and stillness, giving people a beautiful enjoyment! Later, we crossed the bridge and arrived at the fifth viewing platform, which is closer. Looking from the bottom up, we feel the grandeur and shock of this landscape, which makes people sigh at the magic of nature. It is really a good place to go!
When I arrived at Huangguoshu Waterfall, I found out that the Water Curtain Cave was closed and I was not allowed to enter. What was going on? I bought a full ticket? But it was closed after I entered. So you should not be able to sell tickets to the Water Curtain Cave. Isn't this a rip-off? It's over. It's a pity that I can't fully appreciate the magnificence and grandeur of Huangguoshu Waterfall.
You need to wear a raincoat to visit the Water Curtain Cave, and the road is slippery. Is it worth going? I must say, it is worth it. If it is open, you must go. It is spectacular to see the waterfall from behind the waterfall. Of course, many tour groups will recommend not to go, one is for safety reasons due to the slippery road, and the other is for time reasons. You need to queue to enter the Water Curtain Cave. It takes 30 minutes at the fastest and several hours at the slowest. But it is really worth going.
The Water Curtain Cave is a karst cave under the Huangguoshu Waterfall. The splashing water forms mist and drifts over. Umbrellas are not allowed when entering the Water Curtain Cave. It is very necessary to buy a raincoat in advance. However, the raincoat is not breathable and you will be covered with sweat in a short time. Although there are many people queuing outside and the cave entrance can only accommodate one person, once you enter the cave, you will feel refreshed.
The queue entrance to the Water Curtain Cave will show the estimated time required. We queued for about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. The Water Curtain Cave is just behind the waterfall, so you can enjoy the waterfall up close. I wonder if there will be pairs of dirty eyes looking at you from inside the Water Curtain Cave (A Chinese Odyssey).
There was only one hour left before the tour guide said we would meet. Should we go to the Water Curtain Cave? After some discussion, we decided not to give up. Because only visitors who enter the Water Curtain Cave can personally experience the view of the waterfall from six directions: front, back, left, right, up, and down; and can reach out from behind the waterfall to touch the cascading waterfall. This is a unique experience in the world. Wouldn't it be a pity to miss it? There were many people entering the Water Curtain Cave during the peak season this summer. The line was very long, but it still couldn't stop our curiosity. The country road leading to the Water Curtain Cave was the kind that only two or three people could walk side by side. It was very narrow and crowded. Once you took your first step, there was no way back. There was a little friend next to us who couldn't stand the crowded flow of people and cried and wanted to leave. The parents were powerless at this time. Even if God lent you a pair of wings, you couldn't fly into the Water Curtain Cave. You could only let her cry and move like a snail with the crowd. Because of the previous torture, I didn't have the temper to deal with it calmly. Finally, we were able to enter the Water Curtain Cave. Although it was different from what we saw in movies and imagined, we could stand in the cave and look through the waterfall to see the unique and magnificent scenery around. I think only the Huangguoshu Waterfall has this irreplaceable charm. Huangguoshu Waterfall is a must-see attraction when traveling to Guizhou. Even if it is crowded and crowded, you will feel that it is worth the trip.
Walking into the waterfall itself is thrilling and mind-blowing, and walking inside the waterfall is indeed terrifying. However, if you arrive at the Huangguoshu Waterfall but don't enter the Water Curtain Cave, you will not truly appreciate the grandeur and magnificence of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, which will be a great regret in life.
There is another wonderful sight when you pass through the Water Curtain Cave. You can enjoy the rainbow over the Rhinoceros Pond from the windows of the cave. The rainbow here is not only a colorful double track but also dynamic. You can see it from 9 am to 5 pm as long as the weather is clear, and it changes and moves as you walk.
If you don't wear a raincoat, you will probably be soaked from head to toe when you get out of the cave. I am a good example.
When people walked in the Water Curtain Cave, people outside the cave were shocked. It turned out that the Water Curtain Cave in the popular "Journey to the West" was filmed here.
There were many raincoats for sale on the road. Fortunately, I bought one at the entrance of the scenic area when I came in. It was 5 yuan per piece. It is more expensive here, 15 yuan per piece.
After putting on a raincoat, follow the mountain path and walk deeper and deeper. You will get closer and closer. After making a circle, you can walk past the front of the waterfall, then behind it, through the water curtain cave, and out from the other side. It feels so exciting, like a maze.
From a close distance, the water of the waterfall is like rain, and walking in it feels fresh and exciting. It is said that there is a water curtain cave under the waterfall, which is rare among waterfalls around the world.
From inside the cave, you can get close to the waterfall, with splashing water all around, making you feel like you are in a fairyland on earth.
After entering, there was too much mist and water droplets on the camera lens, so I couldn’t take pictures. Especially since the passage inside the cave is quite narrow. If I stopped to take pictures, it would cause blockage behind. So I didn’t take any pictures of the cave.
It takes a little time to queue up, and it takes about an hour to queue up after the tour. But it is definitely more time-saving than visiting the waterfall in the afternoon. If you go to the waterfall after 10 o'clock, you will not be able to get in line for 2-3 hours, and this does not include the time for playing! So you must go to the waterfall early! I won't describe the process of playing one by one. Learning elementary school texts and experiencing it yourself are two completely different things. Words can't express it at all. It's super shocking! ! ! In short, it's worth the trip~ You must prepare good quality raincoats and rain boots when walking in the Water Curtain Cave. It's very important!
Although I regretted that I didn't go into the Water Curtain Cave to see the Monkey King's cave, I still felt the shock of the waterfall from the observation deck outside! It was just as Xu Xiake described: like pounding pearls, like jade chips splashing, water foam splashing, waves surging back and forth, like smoke rising into the sky, the momentum is extremely majestic and swift, the so-called "pearl curtain hook does not roll up, silk hangs on the distant peak" is not enough to compare its magnificence.
The most vivid and concise description of the majestic scenery of Huangguoshu Waterfall is probably a couplet in the waterfall viewing pavilion on the opposite bank of the waterfall. The couplet reads:
White water is like cotton, it scatters without the need for a bow
Why should weave the rosy clouds like brocade?
The Water Curtain Cave can only accommodate one person, and the queue is very long and slow. Because it was already afternoon, we only looked at it from a distance and did not enter, which was a pity. It is recommended that if you want to visit the Water Curtain Cave, you must arrive early and go to the Water Curtain Cave first.
The Water Curtain Cave is very narrow and has limited entry. We queued up and walked slowly while getting wet... We became a drowned chicken. You must go in and walk around the Water Curtain Cave if you are not tired, haha
You can take your time and walk along the signboards until you reach the big waterfall. There aren't many people there and you can take photos from any angle. It's a pity that the Water Curtain Cave is closed, so I prepared a raincoat.
It was 3pm when we arrived at the waterfall. The crowds were even bigger than those at Tianxing Bridge, after all, this is the main scenic spot. Especially Huangguoshu Waterfall, you can go in and see it. There are quite a lot of people queuing for Shuiliandong. We lined up to the highest viewing platform. It is actually a waterfall, from top to bottom, inside to outside, and from left to right.
You need to queue up to see the waterfall in Shuilian Cave. Although it is not the peak season yet, you need to queue for about an hour. During the peak period, you may have to queue for several hours. However, it is worth queuing. When you enter the back of the waterfall in Shuilian Cave, you can feel the majestic waterfall so closely. You are moved to tears. It is hard to describe it in words. The mist has hit me like I just got out of the water. But I still watch the waterfall in Shuilian Cave for a long time and don't want to leave. I think if Xu Xiake was born earlier, or Li Bai was born later, if Li Bai knew about Huangguoshu Waterfall from Xu Xiake, he would definitely come here, and he would definitely leave a poem that will be passed down through the ages like the Lushan Waterfall.
Walking into the cave and watching the waterfall rushing down in front of you, you can't help but carefully lean out, but get soaked all over, and then shrink back with a laugh. Almost all tourists passing by like to play this way.
Huangguoshu Waterfall is really as amazing as its reputation. The waterfall from a high place falls from the sky, rushing down for thousands of miles, majestic and magnificent! The mist in the river is like a dream and smoke! (Quoting a passage from my travel notes)
According to a group friend who had been there recently, it takes one to two hours to queue up during peak hours to cross the Water Curtain Cave in the Great Falls. We decided to cross the Water Curtain Cave in the morning. When we arrived at the intersection of the Water Curtain Cave, we saw some people busy putting on raincoats. There was a sign next to it saying: You need to wait in line for one hour from here to the Water Curtain Cave! This should be the sign for waiting in line during peak hours. I saw that the road ahead was smooth, so my family of five put on their raincoats first. When we were about to reach the Water Curtain Cave, the water and fog of the Great Falls came towards us, just like moderate to heavy rain. If we didn't have a raincoat, we would be soaked. To be honest, crossing the Water Curtain Cave is just so-so. The experience is greater than the appreciation. You still have to go outside to see the waterfall. It's just that the children think it's novel and fun to be below, and they can also feel how big and fast the water flow of this waterfall is.
When we arrived at the exit of Water Curtain Cave, we saw many tourists throwing their disposable raincoats into the garbage dump near the entrance, so we threw them away too. Later we realized that this decision was a wrong one.
Don't expect to take pictures leisurely on the way to the Water Curtain Cave, because the road is super narrow. If one person stops, everyone will stop with you, and the traffic will start to get congested, and other tourists will complain, so you must always have your camera ready and take pictures while walking. You can say that you only have one second. The Huangguoshu Waterfall scenic area only has the big waterfall, so take pictures of tourists as soon as you leave the Water Curtain Cave.
Before coming, my child said that he must enter the Water Curtain Cave. At the fork in the road, many people told us that there were too many people queuing. They had been queuing for more than an hour and were ready to give up. The sign at the fork in the road also said that the queue time for entering the Water Curtain Cave was more than 60 minutes. At this time, my husband and I backed off a little, but my son insisted on entering the Water Curtain Cave, so we had to risk our lives to accompany my child. Following the crowd to line up, I quickly put on my raincoat. The raincoat was bought on the roadside outside the scenic area, 10 yuan for 3, disposable. Not long after walking forward, I found that I had entered the Water Curtain Cave. When passing by the big waterfall, the water blowing over was super big, and it would definitely not work without a raincoat. Entering the Water Curtain Cave is actually to see the waterfall inside. Because there are so many people, I only took a picture of the waterfall and hurried forward. You can take off your raincoat when you walk out of the Water Curtain Cave, and take a photo of my son quickly on the side. Finally fulfilled my son's wish, and my son is super happy!
Looking at the waterfall in the cave, there is a huge water curtain. As long as the sun is shining, you can see a rainbow, and it’s a double one!
There were too many people, and the entrance to the Water Curtain Cave was guarded by management personnel, who only let in one group of people every half an hour. We kept moving forward, but people kept giving up and leaving. The sun was very hot, and people were crowded together, so I really wanted to give up, but my son, who had been thinking about it all the way, kept saying, "Mom, don't give up!" during the nearly one hour of waiting to enter.
After a long time of suffering, he finally got closer and closer to him. The roaring sound of the flowing water, the flourishing water mist, and the rainbow in the sun made Ran couldn't help but jump for joy and cheer. All the waiting was worth it.
It was really worth the trip to pass through the waterfall from the Water Curtain Cave.
Walking into the waterfall is thrilling and soul-stirring, and walking through the Water Curtain Cave of the waterfall is indeed a thrilling experience. However, if you go to Huangguoshu Waterfall but don't enter the Water Curtain Cave, you won't be able to truly appreciate the magnificence and grandeur of Huangguoshu Waterfall, which will be a great regret in life. Entering the cave from the tourist trail, you will be in the cave, with the water curtain pouring down from your head. Looking out through the jade-like crystal waterfall, the green mountains, green trees, tourists, teahouses on the opposite side of the waterfall... are hazy and looming, as if you are in a fairyland on earth, with endless fun. In addition to admiring the above wonders, walking through the Water Curtain Cave is indeed a natural wonder.
I personally feel that the setting of the scenic area can be more humane. For example, tourists can decide in what order they want to visit the three scenic areas. The Tianxing Bridge Scenic Area can add sightseeing buses, cable cars and other facilities so that people with average physical strength can also have the opportunity to see the Yinlianzhuitan Waterfall, etc. Overall, it is worth a visit, but it is indeed very physically demanding and requires preparation.
If you want to avoid turning back, you have to keep going up until you pass through the Water Curtain Cave. As you get closer to the waterfall, you have to hold an umbrella. I was so lazy that I got soaked. I opened my umbrella when I had no choice but to do so. It was too late... You have to queue up to go up to the Water Curtain Cave in batches.
The most anticipated attraction did not disappoint me! There was plenty of rain in those days, and the waterfall was magnificent and majestic. It was totally worth the trip!
The Water Curtain Cave is located at the top of Huangguoshu Waterfall. If you don't enter the Water Curtain Cave when you arrive at Huangguoshu Waterfall, you will not be able to truly appreciate the magnificence and grandeur of Huangguoshu Waterfall, which will be a great regret in life. Follow the crowd and enter the cave from the tourist trail. When you are in the cave, the water curtain will flow down from your head. Looking out across the crystal clear waterfall, the green mountains, green trees, tourists, teahouses on the opposite side of the waterfall are hazy and trance, looming, as if you are in a fairyland on earth, which is very interesting.
We ran into a bunch of tour groups when we came out, so we were squeezed to death at Huangguoshu. It was just after 3 o'clock when we arrived at Huangguoshu, and we came out before 5:30. After entering, there was an escalator to go down to see the waterfall. Since we decided to walk, we squeezed with the tour groups all the way down. There were a lot of people below. Since this waterfall is relatively high, the water splashed into drizzle after falling, so remember to buy a disposable raincoat. Since we had already bought it in Guangdong, we were not afraid.
Because of the strong water flow, you will definitely see a rainbow. We walked up and entered the Water Curtain Cave. The road here is very crowded and small, so wear a raincoat. My boyfriend said he was afraid that there was not enough time and there were too many people, so he asked me to leave, but in the end I still pulled him to line up to go in. When I came out, my hair was quite wet because the quality of the raincoat I bought was too poor. My boyfriend's raincoat was bought when I traveled in Vietnam before, and the quality was very good, so he was safe and sound. After a circle, we had to climb back the same way. At this time, there were fewer people and we didn't have to squeeze, but we were very thirsty and could only buy drinks when we went up. So I was so tired that I suddenly thought it would be nice to buy an escalator to go up. The escalator is 30/person one way. It's also good to buy it when you meet a tour group going down, so you don't have to squeeze, but it's a pity that we didn't have it. When we finally went out, we bought souvenirs and waited for a ride for an hour. Since their non-scenic area cars can only come in after 6 o'clock, we canceled it and took the scenic area taxi down again. We made another appointment at the ticket office! ! The cheating driver picked us up and went back to the scenic area to pick up people! ! ! ! !
The so-called Water Curtain Cave is behind the big waterfall. The waterfall is relatively high and the water mist is very large, so you need to wear a raincoat. You need to queue up to enter the Water Curtain Cave during holidays. In fact, after entering the cave, there are only two or three small openings to see the waterfall outside. Most of the time, you can go through Shandong and there is some lighting.
If the water level is too high, the Water Curtain Cave will not be open, and there is no place to check the opening status. It depends on luck when the water level is high. It is impossible to come here when the water level is low. The waterfall is only stunning when the water level is high. You can see the queue reminder on the road. It will take 90 minutes, 60 minutes, and 30 minutes to get there. It is said that the capacity of the Water Curtain Cave is limited. In the peak season, you will have to queue up for such a long time. Fortunately, I went in during the off-season without any obstacles.
There are several skylights in the Water Curtain Cave, through which you can see the waterfall. Looking up, the water is rushing down, straight at you. Looking at it for a long time, you feel like you can't stand the impact. There is water dripping in the cave, plus the water splashing, you will definitely get wet without a raincoat.
Passing behind the Huangguoshu Waterfall, although soaking wet, it was a very good and exciting experience.
When passing through the Water Curtain Cave, we passed from behind the waterfall. The waterfall was very close and the mountain road was full of water. The water from the waterfall splashed all over our body. Lele felt extremely excited. With the cave and water, he was so happy.
The Water Curtain Cave is on the cliff behind the waterfall. This section of the road is very narrow and wet, so you must wear a raincoat and waterproof shoes. The Water Curtain Cave will be very crowded when there are many people. Fortunately, we went early and there were few people, so there was no barrier throughout the whole journey.
Why is it called Huangguoshu Scenic Area? It is indeed the Water Curtain Cave that appears there.
I visited Huangguoshu Cave for the fourth time. Because the water level was too high this time, there was water accumulation in the cave and the queue was very long. We had to give up on the Water Curtain Cave, which was a bit regrettable.
The water volume of the waterfall is not very large in March, but the roar can still be heard from a long distance. The cave behind the waterfall is the Water Curtain Cave, which is a one-way passage, so you must follow the signs.
The most surprising part is walking through the Water Curtain Cave, enjoying the different views from inside the waterfall and feeling the sound of the waterfall.
There weren't a lot of people there when we came, so we didn't have to wait in a very long line. We just followed the crowds. The Water Curtain Cave was really nice, and we were lucky enough to see a double rainbow.
When you enter the waterfall, you will first see the bonsai garden. You can take a quick look, then walk towards the escalator. If you are tired, you can take the escalator up and down. If you are not tired, you can choose to walk down like me and take the escalator on the return trip. The entrance to go down is on the left side of the escalator. Go down the mountain for 20 minutes and go directly to the viewing platform below the waterfall opposite. After taking pictures, walk back a short distance, go up the mountain, and then go to the viewing platform above the waterfall. This is the best location to take pictures of the waterfall. Please note that you must wear a raincoat here, otherwise you will get wet all over. After taking pictures, line up to enter the water curtain cave behind the waterfall, and take off your raincoat after exiting the water curtain cave. Note that there are also many places where water drips in the water curtain cave, so don't take off your raincoat as soon as you enter the water curtain cave! ! !
There was a rainbow at that time, it was really beautiful, amazing!!!
At one moment, the sun came out, and a bright rainbow formed in the water vapor nearby, which amazed everyone. When I reacted and picked up the camera, it was too late.
The magnificence of Huangguoshu Waterfall cannot be described by my clumsy pen. If you want to appreciate the magnificence of the waterfall from the lines, you can enjoy the fifth-grade Chinese textbook "Huangguoshu Waterfall" published by Jiangsu Education Press.
It feels quite magical to walk through the waterfall. The little guy really loves waterfalls, no matter how big or small.
Seeing the waterfall again from afar at the foot of the mountain is a completely different scene.
Due to the large amount of water, the Water Curtain Cave has been sealed for safety reasons, so you can only watch the waterfall from above.
Some people were queuing up to buy tickets to take the elevator to see the waterfall. I didn't think it was necessary. It felt nice to walk slowly down the stairs. The way was not very long, and the cool breeze was refreshing.
It was really hard to take a photo with people everywhere. I didn't buy a raincoat, so my head and face were all wet. There are raincoats for sale outside the scenic area. You can bargain for two for five yuan.
I personally feel that this cave is the most distinctive attraction in Huangguoshu Scenic Area today. Unfortunately, it is often closed due to weather and other reasons. We were very lucky today. It didn't rain, although it was cloudy. The Water Curtain Cave was also open. I heard from other group members that it was still closed yesterday.
Walking on the path to the Water Curtain Cave, I unexpectedly discovered that the waterfall from this angle is very beautiful.
The Water Curtain Cave is well-deserved of its reputation and is highly recommended.
Watching the waterfall from the Water Curtain Cave, the pouring water is breathtaking and covers the sky.
One-way street, queueing for an hour, dark inside, not interesting, not worth spending so much time queuing
When I went there, the Water Curtain Cave was closed. They said they were cleaning up some fallen rocks. But I heard it has been closed for more than half a year. I really want to see what the Water Curtain Cave looks like. I think it must be because there are too many tourists and they are afraid of traffic congestion, so they deliberately closed that spot. After all, most people who come to see it just want to see this big waterfall and take a photo to say they have been here, so for everyone's sake, it is not open.
Crossing the waterfall is still a very interesting journey
The Water Curtain Cave allows you to better appreciate the Great Falls. The stalactite cave allows you to accurately perceive the Great Falls formed by erosion and cracks in the karst landform. Looking out the window at the waterfall, the Great Falls crashes down in front of you.
The trickle of water splashes, a different kind of beauty.
It is recommended to bring your own raincoat, as the stalactites inside are dripping with water. It is not wise to wear a jacket. The cave is slippery, so please be careful.
The Water Curtain Cave, with a total length of 134 meters, is the only waterfall in the world with a natural water curtain cave running through the waterfall.
Looking at the waterfall from the back of the window of the Water Curtain Cave, the rushing water seems like a brocade woven by a Buyi girl. The flowing silk threads and the rapidly flying shuttles weave this natural landscape painting.
In the cool cave, there is no rumbling sound of water or noisy noise, and there seems to be silence all around. At this moment, I feel like I am nestled in the arms of a giant, feeling a kind of peace and tranquility I have never experienced before. The slight mountain breeze and the cold dripping water wet my face and body, and I feel intoxicated as if I was kissed.
But outside the cave, it was a completely different scene. The huge streams that piled up one after another were like a volley of arrows and the roars of lions were extremely dangerous!
The Water Curtain Cave is the filming location of the 1986 version of Journey to the West. Behind the waterfall is the legendary Water Curtain Cave. The water volume is not the largest in April, so visitors can enter the Water Curtain Cave to have a close contact with the waterfall. The walking distance is not close, because the width of the waterfall is 101 meters and the height is 77.8 meters. The Water Curtain Cave is basically in the middle of the waterfall, so it means that you have to go around the width of the waterfall and climb half the height of the waterfall to reach it, which takes about half an hour. As you get closer to the waterfall, you have to accept the moisture of the splashing water, and it is inevitable to get wet, so it is recommended to wear a waterproof jacket here, but there are raincoats for sale inside, 5 yuan each, we bought one, the quality is really not good.
The waterfall splashes and forms a rainbow. I heard that if you are lucky, you can see a double rainbow, but I didn't see it. Walking into the Water Curtain Cave is like getting close to the waterfall. The flowing water is clearly visible, and it feels like big and small beads falling on a jade plate. The sound of water is deafening. There is a viewing platform in the Water Curtain Cave, or a photo platform. There is a large flow of people, so if you want to take a solo photo, you have to seize the opportunity.
It is easy to get your clothes wet when entering the Water Curtain Cave. Fortunately, I bought a raincoat outside the scenic area, which came in handy.
You need to bring your own raincoat when entering the cave, but luckily we all wore raincoats that day. The cave is dark and dripping with water, and the passage is narrow.
There are stalactites in the cave, and you can see the scenery outside from inside the cave.
Remember to bring a raincoat if you have to queue up for the tour during the peak season. Remember, remember! If you can walk directly without queuing, you don't need to bring a raincoat. Waterproof clothes and pants will be enough. The scenery is nothing special.
Guizhou is too hot in summer, the Water Curtain Cave is super cool, you must go 🙈
We came in December, the dry season, so the water volume was not particularly high, so we didn't get particularly wet when we passed through the Water Curtain Cave. If it was summer, we would probably get soaked.
The three major scenic spots in Huangguoshu are priced at 64 yuan in the off-season, which is all included in the ticket price. You can see them all in one day, but it takes two days to play seriously. Among them, Tianxing Bridge is worth a good visit and you should walk through it carefully.
I personally think it's fun and a very novel experience. I just queued for a long time. In fact, I just passed through the back of Huangguoshu Waterfall. Don't think the photo is ugly. It's good to be able to take a photo in this situation. Remember to wear a raincoat. That's it!
It was mid-November when we went there, and the flow was much smaller. If we had come two weeks earlier, it would have been much more spectacular. We went on Friday, but still couldn't avoid the crowds. There were so many people, but fortunately, the sky was full of clouds in the morning but the sun was shining brightly in the afternoon. We saw the big waterfall under the big rainbow, and we were very satisfied. 😄
The Water Curtain Cave is located at a height of 40 to 47 meters above the Huangguoshu Waterfall. It is 134 meters long and has six cave windows, five cave halls, three cave springs and six passages. If you come to the Huangguoshu Waterfall but don't enter the Water Curtain Cave, you will not be able to truly appreciate the magnificence and grandeur of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, which will be a great regret in life. There is another wonderful wonder when you pass through the Water Curtain Cave. You can watch the rainbow over the Rhinoceros Pond from each cave window. The rainbow here is not only a colorful double track but also dynamic. As long as the weather is clear, you can see it from 9 am to 5 pm, and it changes and moves as you walk.
