Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is located at the foot of Leigong Mountain in the northeast of Leishan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is 36 kilometers away from the county seat, 35 kilometers away from Kaili, the capital of Qiandongnan Prefecture, and about 200 kilometers away from Guiyang, the provincial capital. It is composed of more than 10 natural villages built on the mountain, and is currently the largest Miao village in China and even in the world.

The gate of the Miao Village is very busy, and commercial streets are being built one after another. There were originally two parking lots, but now only the North Gate parking lot at the bottom of the mountain is open to small private cars. The other one is the West Gate parking lot on the mountain, which is no longer open to small private cars from outside, but there are two gate-blocking wine performances at the gate every day.

From the north gate parking lot, you need to walk a long distance to the entrance of the scenic area to wait for the guide bus, and then take the guide bus to walk a winding mountain road to the observation deck on the top of the mountain to truly enter the Miao village.

The ticket is 100 yuan, the guide bus is 20 yuan for 4 round trips (I don't know why I always go to the gate?). The package ticket is 110 yuan when purchased online, and the parking lot is 30 yuan overnight. There are also small sightseeing buses in the village, which require extra money. Because the Miao village is all walking, I don't know the price.

However, it was not pleasant from buying tickets to taking the guide bus. The staff was very impatient. It was fine if they didn't explain it clearly, but they kept rolling their eyes. While waiting for the guide bus, several tour groups came. They were probably not staying in the Miao village so they were in a hurry. They didn't care that everyone was queuing. The tour guide led the way and squeezed in. The staff next to them acted as if they didn't see it. So when we left, we would rather spend another 10 yuan each to take a private minibus from an inn to the parking lot than squeeze in the guide bus with countless uncles and aunts who had no idea why they were queuing on the observation deck.

Qianhu Miao Village has more than 1,200 households and about 5,000 people, 99.5% of whom are Miao people. Miao silver, Miao medicine, Miao embroidery, clothing, musical instruments, ancient songs, dances...everything has been well inherited and displayed.



When we were strolling around the village, we happened to catch someone getting married. The elders of the village sat around and sang ancient songs. It was very ceremonial.

I accidentally learned about it on the Internet many years ago. A photo made me yearn for it and I included it in my itinerary.

The ticket to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is 100 yuan per person, plus 20 yuan for 4 trips on the sightseeing bus. You must buy the sightseeing bus if you can’t save, otherwise you will get dizzy from walking.

It takes 10 minutes by car from the gate to the Miao village. The entire Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is built along the water. We walked upstream along the stream and slowly entered the village. Not far away, we saw the wind and rain bridge. There are several wind and rain bridges in the whole village, each leading to the other side of the river. Wind and rain bridges are a local feature. The function of the bridge is very important. It is not only a bridge connecting the two sides, but also a wind and rain shelter. You can rest on the bridge when you are tired.

The pedestrian street is full of delicious food and hotels. Although it is dozens of kilometers away from the city, it is not backward at all and has everything from food to accommodation.

Walking back along the river from the No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge, the lights were on all the way. There were many bars on the roadside, and the sound of resident singers could be heard intermittently.

There are mixed opinions about Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village on the Internet. The most common voice is about commercialization. Countless people accuse: excessive development has made her lose her original tranquility, replaced by hustle and bustle! Everyone who walks into Qianhu Miao Village is eager to see the authentic life of the ancient Miao village, and is eager to enjoy the tranquility away from the world in the simple village, but finds that their expectations are broken by the bars door to door on the commercial street, ruined by the pretentious folk performances, and crushed by the battery cars coming and going in the scenic area. As a result, people's expectations turned into disappointment, and praise turned into blame. For a while, everyone turned into the patron saint of traditional folk customs, and righteously criticized the swallowing of Miao Village by modern civilization. It seems that they have forgotten who is responsible for all this commercialization process... Without demand, there is no market supply. Isn't it our hearts that yearn for the original ecology that broke the tranquility of Xijiang?

The gate of the Miao village is tall and magnificent. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from here and pass a commercial street to enter the Miao village. When we arrived, a group of Miao men and women gathered in the square, and soon they started dancing happily. A drum and several cow skulls are displayed in a drum storage hall in the Miao village. Tourists can go in and beat the drum and raise the cow head to pray for blessings. The price is arbitrary, and you can give 20-30 yuan depending on your mood. It took nearly half an hour to climb back to the homestay. It was very dark in the village at night, and the road up the mountain was not easy to walk. We turned on the flashlight and could only illuminate a short section of the road in front of us. I was sweating when I climbed to the top of the mountain, and I felt hungry again. I finally knew why the indigenous people here were so thin. The next day we came to the center of the Miao village, which is a square surrounded by a corridor with seats. When there are activities, it can accommodate thousands of people. There are tourists wearing Miao costumes taking pictures in the center of the square. There are shops on both sides of the Miao Village Ancient Street, with various foods and souvenirs. Some shops will let tourists try them for free. If you want to bring some gifts to relatives and friends, Miao snacks are also a good choice. Next to the square is a small museum with two floors, which introduces the history, folk customs, architecture, food, clothing, etc. of the Miao people.

This is a must-visit place when you come to Guizhou. The beauty of Xijiang Miao Village lies in the night view of thousands of lights. Every dusk, thousands of households light up their lights. It was already 8 o'clock in the evening when I arrived at the Miao Village. It was drizzling, but it didn't affect my good mood at all. I stayed in an inn halfway up the mountain. I woke up in Xijiang Miao Village in the early morning. The mountains and rivers were close to each other, and the smoke from cooking was curling. At 9 o'clock in the Miao Village, most people were still asleep.

Wander around the Miao village at will and experience the most peaceful and relaxing time.

After eating and drinking, we walked along the narrow and winding stone road into the depths of the mountains. Most of the Miao people's stilt houses still retain their original appearance...

There are small shops renting clothes around the performance venue. Ordinary clothes are 20 yuan per set for half an hour. The price for Miao Hou is a bit more expensive, 50 yuan per set. I chose a set of Miao Hou clothes. Maybe this set of clothes is too eye-catching. As soon as I put it on and stood in the performance venue, many tourists came around and asked: "Are you the Miao Hou who leads the dance?" Although I said I was just a tourist, they still lined up to take pictures with me. Among them, there were many amateur photographers holding SLR cameras.

After leaving the Lusheng field, I looked at the signboard of the scenic area and found that there was still a rural tourist area that I hadn't visited. That was the place I had been thinking about. The rural tourist area of Xijiang is very small. No one went up the mountain near dusk, so I just looked at it on the roadside, because this is not the kind of magnificent and picturesque terraces I want to see... Wander aimlessly in the ancient village and enjoy the quiet time without any plans... Xijiang is to Guizhou like Lijiang is to Yunnan! Xijiang in Southeast Guizhou has too many ethnic characteristics, a comfortable rural life, and thousands of lights deep in the mountains. Although I didn't catch up with the 12 gate-blocking wine when I entered the village in the evening, and I didn't have a long table banquet due to the off-season... But it almost satisfied all my imaginations! I was deeply shocked by its ethnic customs and culture...

The North Gate is the main entrance of the Miao village. In the square of the North Gate, you can see the Twelve-Gate Welcome Wine Performance with Miao characteristics, as well as the welcoming musical instrument performances and dances by Miao uncles and aunts.

Entering the second gate is the real Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village Scenic Area. Looking around, you can see Miao-style stilt houses everywhere. Coupled with the rainy weather, the whole Miao village looks like a fairyland.

The first feeling of Miao Village is that it has a strong sense of ethnic minority. As a famous scenic spot in Guizhou, the commercialization of Miao Village is also quite serious. Almost all the stilt houses we can see are inns and restaurants. It was still early when we arrived at Miao Village, and the village seemed particularly quiet. It might be that a large number of tour groups had not arrived yet, so we took the opportunity to take some photos. Next to the wooden plank road is the snack street of Qianhu Miao Village. Standing on the wooden plank road, the aroma of barbecue hits you. The ancient yellow buildings and the green river constitute the unique scenery of Qianhu Miao Village. The snack street is the most lively place in Qianhu Miao Village during the day. The special snacks here are barbecue skewers and small bamboo shoots. The barbecue skewers in Guizhou are all pork, which are local special black pigs with tender meat and unique peppers. . . . . .

If you want to eat skewers in the Miao village, you must be patient enough. The shop owners take a long time to process and roast the skewers. Please stand aside and wait patiently with your mouth watering.

The Miao village is not very big. You can walk along the river and pass several wind and rain bridges to the bus stop to the top of the mountain. We took a tour from the outside to the inside, first walking along the river. We took pictures of the beautiful places along the way, went into the interesting shops, and waited for night to fall to go to the top of the mountain to see the night view of the entire Miao village. There were many tourists wearing Miao costumes taking pictures in the square.

After a short rest, we set off again. At this time, the Qianhu Miao Village was already "lit up". The Fengyu Bridge, various inns, and restaurants lit up with twinkling lights, officially announcing to tourists that the night of the Miao Village has begun. The local Miao aunties have already lit the "small bonfire". When you see the simple faces of the aunties, you can also see the simple folk customs that Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village should have.

It was completely dark, and as night fell, the carnival of the whole Miao village was pushed to a climax. As a scenic spot, the price of food in Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is very reasonable, without any airs of a scenic spot. The dishes are large, and rice is not sold by bowl but by portion, 4 yuan per portion, which is enough for two people.

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is known as "the largest Miao village in the world". Yisen has always called it "too commercialized", but compared with the previous two villages, I think this should be called "development". After all, poverty alleviation is not just a slogan. I may not be able to get the so-called original beauty of the cultural landscape of the village. In comparison, Xijiang Miao Village, climbing the mountain and looking at the panoramic view from a bird's eye view, is a prosperous and beautiful scene.

Buy tickets and wait for the sightseeing bus. You can buy tickets on the bus, which is very user-friendly. You can buy and go without wasting money. Because the combined ticket seems to be four trips, we only go in and out twice. Anyway, it's five yuan per trip, which is convenient. The sightseeing bus gets off at Bridge No. 7. By the way, there are seven wind and rain bridges connecting the Xijiang River. The wind and rain bridges are used as markers, so it is easy to recognize the road.

It was almost seven o'clock when we checked in and went out, but the nightlife of Xijiang seemed to have just begun. People like to compare this newly developed prosperous village with Lijiang. There are similarities, that is, the endless crowds and lively atmosphere, but they are different after all. The liveliness of Xijiang is closer to life. There are not so many elegant and identical small bars and cafes, but more large pots of sour soup fish, yellow beef with skin, Miao chicken, bacon... or just a long table banquet, a whole snack street full of special food... After dinner, take a walk, you can shuttle through the small alleys in the village, listen to the locals' dinner table chats that you can't understand at all, and occasionally discover one or two small shops of the Miao people to buy small things, which is more interesting than buying in the big shops on the main road. The shops closed quite late at night. At least when we were ready to go home at ten o'clock, the street was still bustling.

Xijiang River in the morning is like an ink painting. The sun peeks out from the clouds in the east from time to time, or a few rays of light try to flash through the thick clouds, illuminating the entire village. It is so beautiful. No wonder some people say that you must see the morning of Xijiang Miao Village.

Walking on the street, after the hustle and bustle of the evening, the village returned to tranquility. There were no endless stream of tourists yet. Shops were just beginning to prepare to welcome new guests. Locals were walking on the street, leisurely eating breakfast, packing up, preparing to check out and go to the next stop.

After exiting Kaili South Station, there is a through bus to the scenic area of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village on the right. Scanning the QR code on WeChat at the visitor center to buy tickets is more favorable than what I booked on the APP. I booked a package of scenic spot tickets + battery cars + evening performances + long table banquets. When it comes to experiencing the humanities and customs, the most famous one in Guizhou is Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. The village is built in the mountains. The foot of the mountain is prosperous and the mountain is quiet. There are many activities, many delicacies, and many places to explore. The night view is also very beautiful. [Visit time] 1d. After arriving at the scenic spot, there is a welcome wine at the entrance. The time is about 11:00 in the morning. Are the Miao girls beautiful? Here, there is a way of drinking called "high mountains and flowing water", and another way of drinking is called "Five Lakes and Four Seas". The secret is that your hands should not touch the cup~ Holding the cup in your hand means to continue to add~ Wandering in the village in the afternoon, I also encountered a band parade that was blowing and singing. I met a group of grandfathers with gray beards and grandmothers with gray hair while wandering around in the alleys. The grandfathers were drinking with each other, and the grandmothers were pouring wine on the side. One grandfather ran to the pond to vomit. Hahaha~ So cute, such young grandfathers and grandmothers. There are many batik shops in Miao Village. The craftsmanship is really beautiful, and the price is indeed a little expensive. There are also batik experience classes to participate in. I heard from the Taiwanese owner of the homestay I booked that the owner's wife also made batik at the foot of the mountain. The tablecloths, bed cushions, and foot pads in the homestay are all dyed by the owner's wife herself.

It feels very similar to the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Fujian, of course not in terms of architectural style, but both are far from the high-speed rail station. In comparison, Tianluokeng is farther away, and the best views are all taken from fixed viewing platforms. In fact, the interior of the scenic area is just a relatively concentrated Miao village house and the so-called commercial "ancient street". Personally, I have been to many ancient towns and have no special freshness for these attractions. The only wonderful scenery is to watch the night view of Qianhu Miao Village at night and taste the sour soup fish, which is quite good. It is recommended to stay there for one night, otherwise there are really not many special features.

I saw some comments saying that Langde Shangzhai is relatively quiet and not too commercialized. This only shows that Xijiang has more advantages in tourism development. So I chose to go to Xijiang. It was worth the trip. It is worthy of being the largest Miao village. You must go deep into the village. The shops are not interesting. They are similar all over the country. Walk up the mountain and you will find surprises. Most importantly, it is free!

Recommendation index: 4 stars. 5 stars in peak season. After all, it is one of the most famous scenic spots. Can't miss it. In summer, the lights are bright and there are many bars at night, which should be more fun. But when we went, it was too cold. There is less nightlife. But there are fewer people and the price is cheaper. The scenic spot is the village. The largest Miao village in China. More than 6,000 residents. Cars can only be parked in the parking lot at the west gate or the north gate. You must take an electric car to enter. The charge for the electric car is very strange, 20 yuan per person. You can take it four times, and you can punch a hole once you take it.

Arrive at the entrance of the scenic spot and take the electric car to see the night view (24 hours in peak season, until 11pm in off-season). Fortunately, there is a heater in the car. When I arrived at the observation deck, I saw that there were so many people. They were all taking pictures with the night view! The Miao Village Museum is worth a visit.

The Lusheng field in the Miao village is usually a place for performances, and is where farmers dry their wheat during the harvest.

Every day at 11:30 noon, there will be a half-hour performance in the performance hall, which is worth watching. They are all original singing and dancing. The national costumes are very beautiful.

I have been eyeing Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village for a long time, and finally I have the chance to see its true appearance.

The development and protection are very good. Although the things inside have been renovated, the basic scenery is well preserved.

Ticket + sightseeing bus 110 yuan

If you like to walk, you only need to buy a round trip ticket, which only costs 100 yuan. The sightseeing bus costs 20 yuan and you can take it 4 times, including going to the observation deck to see the panoramic view. To be honest, it is very close and you can see different Miao villages while walking.

The black pork in the Miao Village is really delicious, without any pork smell, and the pork is fragrant. Mom went to the vegetable market to buy a pound of it and cooked it herself.

The scenery of Qianhu Miao Village is extraordinary. I recommend Miaojia First Village Hotel. If you stay there, call the hotel after entering the scenic area and they will pick you up for free. You don’t need to buy a 20-yuan sightseeing bus ticket. The hotel is only more than 10 minutes away from the observation deck. If you come by passenger bus, get off at the west gate of Miao Village (the gate with Miao headdress (outside the scenic area) and call the hotel. They will also pick you up but charge 30 yuan (the car can seat 7 people, a total of 30 yuan). If you come to Guizhou for tourism and are short on time, you can save money.

It was already dark when we arrived at Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. People in Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village usually stay inside the scenic area, so there is no need to worry about the ticket not being valid the next day. We took a bus to the Xiaobeimen parking lot and dragged the luggage on the bluestone road for a long time to reach the inn. We lived in the most lively place in the ancient town. At that time, we complained a little about the distance. Later, we were glad that we did not stay in an inn on the mountain, as it would be more inconvenient to carry luggage. When booking an inn in the Miao village, you must pay attention to the location ~ It is best to choose a place near the scenic bus stop.

On the first night, we walked around the ancient street where the inn is located, looking for food, trying to make glutinous rice cakes, and visiting many silver jewelry stores. There are many tie-dye, batik, and Miao embroidery items here. If you like, you can buy some and bargain. The innkeeper told us that the two days we came happened to be the New Year of the Miao village, which is both good and bad. The bad thing is that many shops opened by the Miao people are closed and stay at home for the festival, but the good thing is that we can feel the local festive atmosphere.

I simply packed up and went out, and found a restaurant that looked good. Haha, I ate the main dish, bacon! It was really delicious~~ The fried jueba in it was also delicious.

After eating, we strolled around the ancient street and did some shopping. We bought a small ring, a peace drum, and my friend also bought a necklace he liked. The price was reasonable, not a rip-off. I still recommend booking an inn with a view, the experience is very different.

Walk up the mountain and walk on the plank road, climb up and look at the whole Miao village. Although it has been drizzling, I am in a very good mood. I didn't meet many tourists along the way. We went the wrong way and strayed into many Miao families. What I want to say here is that the Miao villagers we met are very friendly and kind. Because communication is a bit difficult, they will patiently answer your questions several times and lead you. My friends and I feel warm in our hearts. After watching for about an hour, I thought about experiencing batik and had to leave. The intangible cultural heritage experience is the ticket we bought online for the intangible cultural heritage experience. We chose batik in tie-dye, batik and Miao embroidery papermaking. It is a handkerchief. It took us three or four hours from drafting to waxing. The Miao girl said that the handkerchief would be sent to us after it was dyed. It's the first attempt, and there are many shortcomings, but no matter how it is done, it is a good souvenir.

The night in the Miao village has become a major spectacle for tourists to enjoy. When it gets dark, looking from a distance, the Miao village on the entire hillside is dotted with stars and dim lights, as if the stars in the sky have fallen to the earth.

The Wind and Rain Bridge over the Baishui River is wrapped in bright lights and reflected in the gurgling river water, adding a bit of charm and enchantment to the sparkling water.

The homestay we stayed in was located halfway up the mountain. There was a relatively large window that could be used as a viewing platform. Standing in front of the window, you could have a panoramic view of the Miao village in front of you. When we woke up in the morning, as the sky got slightly brighter, we stood in front of the window of the house and watched a ray of morning light slowly rising from behind the mountain ridge. Rays of radiant light gradually spread out, accompanied by the crowing of chickens and barking of dogs, the sleeping Miao village was awakened.

The morning sunlight is not very strong, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Miao village in the fresh air.

The curling smoke slowly overflowed from the roof, gently intertwined with the veil-like mist, and drifted over the Miao village. The hardworking and wise Miao villagers began a new day of life.

The stilt houses and yellow-brown old houses stacked on the hillside appear slightly reddish under the morning sun.

Standing in front of the big window of the inn, you can also have a panoramic view of the entire Miao village. The inns facing the Miao village are basically the same layout, of course, the visual sense is slightly worse than that of the observation deck.

After breakfast, I strolled in the village again under the warm sunshine, observing with my eyes and experiencing the unique customs here with my heart.

The commercialization level of Xijiang Miao Village is still relatively high, but it still retains its uniqueness.

Take a five-minute shuttle bus to the village pedestrian street. Accommodation is basically on the mountain or halfway up the mountain, so you can't take your suitcases. Someone is holding a banquet on the Lusheng Square, which has been going on for two days. The locals are very enthusiastic and will invite you to sit down if there is a vacancy. Walk along the commercial street. Now all the ancient cities and towns are lined with shops. Night performances require tickets. The same performance can be watched for free at 11:30 in the daytime with tickets. The stilt houses on both sides of the mountain emit mysterious lights! Like stars falling to the ground, to be honest, it's really ordinary, not colorful, and colorful. Maybe it's because of different appreciation angles. Bridge No. 4, the tour guide said that there are seven wind and rain bridges in the Miao village, and the bridge numbers are compiled with simple numbers. In fact, each bridge has its own cultural name, but the name on the plaque is unknown. At 7 o'clock in the morning, the rooster crows and the ancient village wakes up. You can see the misty mountains in the distance, listen to the clear sound echoing in the valley, watch the quiet and peaceful Miao village, taste the endless fragrant tea, take a deep breath to cleanse your lungs and dust, and feel a leisurely and happy mood. You can visit the Miao Museum for free with your ID card to learn about the traditional culture and customs of the Miao people. Go to the second floor to watch the documentary introducing the Miao village. There are many aboriginals in the Gage Ancient Lane who show the Miao art for free. You must go deep into it. The old people are singing ancient songs. Although you can't understand them, you can feel their vicissitudes of life and their love for life! At 11:30, enter the performance theater with your ticket. The gorgeously dressed, beautiful and generous Miao girls hold ox horn wine utensils in their hands and offer wine to guests from afar. Twelve gates of wine, and guests are not allowed to touch the wine utensils with their hands. If they touch them, they will have to drink three cups of wine. The more you drink, the happier the Miao people are.

After passing the security check, I took the shuttle bus from the scenic spot. It took about 10 minutes from the entrance of the scenic spot to the real scenic spot! When I got off the bus, I saw the lights all over the mountain. The scene is often much stronger than the photos. It is more direct.

After getting off the bus, a prosperous commercial pedestrian street appears before your eyes.

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is composed of more than ten natural villages built on the mountain. It is the largest Miao village in China and even in the world. It is inhabited by the "Xi" clan Miao. There are layers of Miao wooden stilt houses on the hillside, and coffee-colored old houses are against the green mountains. Baishui River divides the village into two parts. This side of the river (the left side after entering the gate for tourists) is mainly a commercial pedestrian street, and the other side of the river (the right side after entering the gate for tourists) is mainly a viewing platform overlooking the village.

Xijiang Miao Village is not big. You can buy the scenic shuttle bus or not. You can walk in while waiting in line. It takes 20 minutes to walk from the north gate to the entrance of the Miao Village scenic area with a suitcase. The first thing you arrive at when entering the scenic area is the No. 6 Wind and Rain Bridge. The No. 4 Wind and Rain Bridge and the No. 5 Wind and Rain Bridge can both lead to the viewing platform. There are signs written by locals on the road. To take the scenic shuttle bus to the viewing platform, you have to wait at the No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge. It is not far away, but it is a whole climb. When you come to the Miao Village, you must put your luggage first before you can have fun. So you don’t have to live on the mountain. PS: The sightseeing bus package for Qianhu Miao Village can only be used 4 times. After using it up, you can also buy it separately, 5 yuan/person/time. These 4 times are probably arranged as follows: 2 round trips from the scenic area gate to the village gate, and 2 round trips to the viewing platform. It is actually very close from the scenic area gate to the village gate, and it only takes more than 10 minutes to walk there. Small inns can be seen everywhere in Miao Village. Basically along the mountain. From the aerial photography, the momentum of the whole Miao Village is still very large, worthy of the name of the thousand-household Miao Village. The whole Miao Village radiates to the mountains on both sides along the Baishui River in the valley. The scale is very large. The whole Miao Village is connected by more than 10 natural villages built on the mountain. It is currently the largest Miao village in China and even the world. The wind and rain bridge here seems to be much larger than the wind and rain bridge in the Dong Village. Turning from the main street to a forked path, you can climb up the mountains on both sides along the steps. You can pass many houses built on the hillside along the way. The two main streets near Baishui River are mainly commercial streets, basically buying souvenirs, Miao medicine, etc. I personally don't think it's very interesting. If you want to find a good place, you have to go into the small roads up the mountain. There will definitely be a lot of discoveries.

The scenic area station is very close to the gate of the scenic area, and it can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Get the ticket and buy the scenic area sightseeing bus (20 yuan/4 times). Tips: The ground in the scenic area is basically paved with blue bricks. If you pull a box, it will easily damage the box pulley; the internal area of the scenic area is also very large, especially for those who have a tight schedule, it is recommended to buy a sightseeing bus ticket. The 20 yuan four-trip sightseeing bus ticket is quite worth it. We had to queue up to wait for the sightseeing bus, and it was completely dark when we got up. So, if you want to take pictures of the dusk and the lights coming on, you have to go in advance.

I entered a museum halfway, but there was no explanation and there were a lot of people. I walked in and walked out, but I still came here. The lockers at the door are a scam. You need to pay a deposit when you deposit something, and you need to apply for a refund when you return it. I guess many people will think that the refund will be automatic, so the 100 yuan deposit will be gone.

Miao Village is much more than ancient streets, terraced fields, wind and rain bridges and viewing platforms. Even if you walk all day without stopping, you still cannot see all of it.

In the alleys, you will meet chickens, ducks, cats and dogs that walk with you briefly, you will meet B&B owners who are strangers to you but are kind enough to lead the way, you will meet balcony tea seats that are more beautiful than the same old check-in spots, and you will meet real Miao homes among countless B&Bs.

They all say that the Miao village is too commercialized, with a bar street, Miao clothing photography shops, ear cleaning and foot baths, silver jewelry... Why not take a walk in the alleys of the Miao village?

If you have luggage or elderly people and children, it is recommended to take it. For girls, Miao clothing must be experienced in Miao Village. There are relatively few shops on the main street, and the prices are the most expensive. There are many more shops by the river, and the prices have dropped significantly. In fact, the best place to rent clothes is to cross the Fengyu Bridge to the south bank of the river. Since there are relatively few tourists there, the price is the most affordable. I hurriedly left the B&B and walked around the area, the sound of the spring water echoing in my ears, and the unique stilt house.

A picture of a small bridge, flowing water, and full of ethnic style suddenly appeared in my eyes. Facing such a beautiful place, I was deeply shocked.

Just when I was intoxicated and lost myself in the world, a strange smell hit my nose. I looked around and saw nothing that could smell good.

I walked and took photos, but the strange smell was like a ghost floating in my nostrils. I finally stopped and looked for it.

I found out that the smell came from the spring water. On the surface, the spring water looked very clear, but when I looked closely, I found that it was the sewage outlet of the B&B that was causing the problem.

I travel to Guizhou by car several times almost every year, but I have never included Xijiang in my itinerary. The main reason is that I feel that the tickets are too expensive, it is heavily commercialized, and there are too many tourists. This time the situation is quite special, the tickets are free, and there will not be many tourists, so Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village has become one of the key scenic spots in this trip to Qiannan.



Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village has two scenic area gates, east and west. Self-driving cars can only be parked in the parking lots in these two directions. Cars cannot be driven into the village. So luggage can only be carried in, which is not very convenient for self-driving people.



Whether it is the North Gate or the West Gate, it is a long distance from the entrance to the village. There is a scenic area bus (20 yuan for 4 rides). The parking lot is very large, and there is actually a distance from the parking lot to the scenic area gate.



To enter the village from the north gate and west gate of the scenic area, you have to take the scenic area bus, but the distance is only about 1.5 kilometers.



There is a river called Baishui River in the middle of the village. The No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge upstream of the Baishui River is located at the end of the village. Downstream are the No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 Wind and Rain Bridges. The Little North Gate is between the No. 6 Wind and Rain Bridge and the No. 7 Bridge. If you take the scenic area bus from the North Gate into the village, you will get to the Little North Gate.



The observation deck is located on the mountain next to the No. 4 and No. 5 Wind and Rain Bridges. There is a sightseeing bus from the observation deck to the No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge at the foot of the mountain.



There is a main road between No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge and Xiaobei Gate, but there are no sightseeing buses.



Those who live in the center of the village and near the wind and rain bridges can enter from the north gate. Those who live on the mountain near the viewing platform can enter from the west gate.

After booking a hotel, ask which gate is closer, the west gate or the north gate, or you will have to walk all the way with your luggage. And be sure to calculate the time when leaving. For example, if we take the bus from the north gate, we need to take the scenic bus from the north gate to the parking lot first. There were a lot of people queuing up that day in the off-season, and we almost missed it. There were no other cars, so we finally chose a black motorcycle, yes, a motorcycle, and drove along a small mountain road to catch the bus. Fortunately, the hotel sent our luggage to the parking lot, so we could jog all the way.

It was my first time to join Jianmei Tour. I stayed at Guiyang Yishang Hotel on the first night. The hotel room was spacious with dry and wet separation. The breakfast was rich. On the second night, the viewing room of Xizi Garden Hotel in Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village was amazing. Although the room was not big and the bathroom was simple, it was clean and tidy. The bedding in the style of Miao batik and embroidery was very pleasing to the eye. Sitting on the balcony, the beauty leaned against the Miao village and had a panoramic view. I really like this place. I can stay here for a few more days. It is really beautiful. I live in a relatively high place, very close to the viewing platform, and can also see the whole Miao village, just from a different angle. I feel that I can just stay on the balcony of the inn, read a book, and look at the scenery. Most of the village is inns and shops, and there are some newly built inns. It is recommended to stay here for more time.

I didn't expect much from Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village at first, because I had seen the stilt houses in Fenghuang, Hunan, which I was very satisfied with. But I was still amazed when I came here. This Miao village is located in a valley, surrounded by green rivers. The wooden houses in the Miao village are stacked up and very spectacular, which is completely different from the style in Fenghuang. Moreover, the Miao customs here are more intense. In addition to the regular Miao performances, most of the vendors in the village are Miao people, which can be seen from their hair. In short, the scenery is beautiful, and there is a strong Miao atmosphere. It is a place worth visiting.

Kaili is only 36 kilometers away from Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, and it takes more than 40 minutes to drive to the west gate of the Miao Village. I found a parking space in the parking lot and was told that the parking fee was 35 yuan per day, which made people feel unhappy. In Zhaoxing Dong Village, the huge parking lot is free to park, why do you have to pay when you get here? Don't worry, there are more unpleasant things waiting for us! Although the scenic spot is free of charge for the elderly, we have to carry our luggage and walk more than 800 meters of uneven slopes to get to the entrance of the village. Here we take the scenic shuttle bus for about two kilometers. The bus driver dropped us off and turned back. We continued to pull the suitcase and walk more than 300 meters to the scenic spot battery car boarding point. This 300-meter downhill didn't feel anything, but when we were sure to return along this road, it was difficult. Because it was too steep. The owner of the booked hotel came to pick us up at the battery station. The young man carried the luggage and walked a small road to the hotel. When I got here, I understood a little bit. There were almost no aborigines in the so-called Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. The huge canyon was facing two high slopes, and there were shops, restaurants, hotels, open-air performance venues and museums. After nightfall, the lights reflected by the open-air performance venue were very strong, and the noise of popular songs and dances was annoying. However, the buildings on the hillsides on both sides were brightly lit, presenting a brilliant and gorgeous mountain village night. A kind of impetuous feeling made people feel uncomfortable. How long can such tourism last? It is impossible not to have doubts. Zhaoxing Dong Village retains half of the area where local residents still live. The five drum towers of reason, benevolence, righteousness and faith also represent the characteristics of Dong culture. Although it has also been seriously commercialized, they still try their best to retain traditional characteristics in some aspects, so that foreign travelers can see the difference and have a sense of gain in travel experience. However, Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is too commercialized. There is no differentiated tourism experience here. The scene I see is not much different from where I used to live. Why did I spend money and time here? Is travel a consumption process? On the way back, the 300-meter-high slope made me sweat and pant. I was exhausted and walked to the shuttle bus station. This kind of trip was extremely unpleasant. I will never come here or the same travel destination again.

I was attracted by the video of the starry sky, and I came to explore with a mysterious mood on the eve of departure. I took a nearly 12-hour drive...

The home of the "Miao King" of Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is the spiritual leader of the Miao people. I heard that he also opened a Miao thatched cottage.



Route 4: There are seven wind and rain bridges in the scenic area, which are very close to each other. Opposite the No. 1 wind and rain bridge is a terraced field. You can experience the farming scenery along the way.



Route 5: Carry a backpack to the viewing platform and walk on the wooden plank road, then walk down the mountain along the stream to the reservoir to see the terraced fields and green mountains and clear waters, and pick and arrange flowers.

I feel that Xijiang gives people a feeling of being isolated from the outside world, a feeling of being in a paradise. The breeze blows towards me and hits my cheeks. It is so refreshing, as if there is a fragrance in the wind.

Origin of the name Xijiang: In those days, the Liu, Xi, You, Gou and other clans arrived in Rongjiang, Guizhou at almost the same time. Because the Xi clan moved around in Rongjiang, it arrived in Xijiang later than the Liu clan. Before the Xi clan arrived, the "Shang" clan of the Miao ethnic group had already lived here. The "Xi" in the name Xijiang refers to the Xi clan, and "Jiang" means "tao", which means that Xijiang is the place where the "Xi" clan asked for food from the "Shang" clan, and "Xijiang" got its name from this.

I went to Xijiang Miao Village in the off-season and I thought it was pretty good. People on the Internet said it had a strong commercial atmosphere, but I felt it was much better than Fenghuang Ancient Town. After all, there were still many Miao people living there. Everywhere were Miao natives with their hair tied up and wearing ethnic costumes, as well as a school and electric car station where local people provided services.

The most important thing to do when going to the Miao Village is to stay in a place with a good view. This way you can feel comfortable in the room. Don't be afraid of the hard work of carrying luggage. Find the opposite door, and you only need to drag the luggage for a while. It's hard for a while, but you will be happy when you rest in the hotel. Many hotels have their own observation decks that are better than the official ones. The official ones are full of people, noisy, and the scenery is average. Unlike the hotel, in the off-season in late May, I suspected that I was the only one in the entire inn, so we were the only ones on the observation deck, and we could do whatever we wanted.

There are many shops selling ox horn combs in the scenic area. I really feel like I can buy one. After all, they are made from ox horns and are not expensive. Later, I searched on Taobao and found that they are much more expensive than those in the scenic area, and the selection is small. I really fall in love with products made from buffalo horns.

There are many people making glutinous rice cakes in the scenic area, which are hot and not expensive. Overall, the prices are still very reasonable. There are also people buying bacon. After returning to Guiyang, I went to the supermarket to compare and found that it was still cheaper in the scenic area, and much cheaper. At this time, I really regretted not buying more buffalo horn gadgets, 10 yuan each, so good to give to others, and unique, because there are really not many choices of Guizhou specialties.

I went there on May Day, there were too many people, it was dry... The scenery is still beautiful, I want to go again next time when there are not too many people~ The May Day trip is really a journey, none of us three can drive, we didn't stop all the way after getting off Longdongbao Airport at 11 o'clock, and it was almost 11 o'clock when we arrived at Xijiang Miao Village. We lived in the scenic area, and there were still a lot of people at 11 o'clock🤷🏻‍♂️ Each scenic spot in Guiyang is quite far away, it is recommended that those who can drive directly rent a car and drive by themselves, most of our trip was spent on transportation (the bus was stuck on the road for several hours, and then we called Didi to the Miao Village in Kaili, which could have been 90 minutes, but it cost more than 200. Because all the highway exits were closed, we had to walk to the end of the highway to get out, and then the national highway, provincial highway and township road all the way back to the Miao Village), the roasted black pork in the Miao Village was delicious, one yuan a string and ate all the way😂😂 The night view is beautiful, and I stayed in the ancient city for one night because I heard that the night view is beautiful. However, the accommodation with good scenery is basically halfway up the mountain, and the road is not easy to walk, so it is recommended not to bring too much luggage. The tickets are not cheap, and the free bus included in the ticket has a limited number of rides, which is too unreasonable. 2. There are many shops renting Miao clothing in Qianhu, Xijiang. Don't rent clothes here during the peak season because there are so many tourists that you have to queue up for good photo spots.

3. The welcoming wine ceremony of Xijiang Qianhu is held at the north gate and starts at around 9:00 in the morning.

The free singing and dancing show is at the Lusheng Field and starts at 2pm, so be sure to go early to grab a good seat.
