Haikou Century Bridge

The Century Bridge is a cross-sea passage in Haikou City, Hainan Province, China. It is located at the mouth of the Haidian River. It is a national key project during the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" and one of the landmark buildings in Haikou City. The construction of the Century Bridge started on May 29, 1998; the main bridge closure project was completed on November 22, 2001, and the entire bridge was connected; it was opened for trial operation on August 1, 2003; and it was officially opened for operation on February 26, 2004. The Century Bridge starts from the Binhai Interchange in the south, crosses the mouth of the Haidian River, and ends at Haidian Fifth West Road in the north; the total length of the line is 2663.606 meters, and the main bridge is 636.60 meters long; the bridge deck is a two-way six-lane urban trunk road with a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour; the total investment of the project is 667 million yuan.

The total investment is 666 million yuan, of which 50 million US dollars are loaned from Japanese funds and 250 million yuan are matched by municipal finance.

Due to the construction of the Century Park enclosure, I couldn't take close-up photos, only from a distance.

Scenic spots: sunrise and sunset at the estuary. Night view of the west coast. Qiuhai Lake of Hainan University. All three scenic spots are very distinctive.

Scenic area services: There are public toilets under the Century Park around the bridge. There are managers on the bridge. Free of charge. The catering and accommodation near the Century Bridge are of relatively high standards. The safety of the bridge is medium, and it is recommended that children be supervised by adults when going on the bridge.

Transportation: Take the bus to the Bund Center or near Hainan University. There are many shared bicycles, which is very convenient. Parking is currently quite convenient, and there are not many people around.

Features: Go up the bridge, enjoy the sea breeze, and ride a bicycle along the Blue Sea Boulevard.



Overall evaluation: Not bad, very suitable for relaxing when you have nothing to do.

Facing the sea breeze, driving an electric car to rush across the Century Bridge, I felt like I was flying~ Blowing the sea breeze in the bridge is another flavor. Finally, we ended the day's trip with a night of Haikou's special small sugar water, Qingbuliang.

The hotel we stayed in was near the Century Bridge, so we took a walk around the area and felt very comfortable in the sea breeze.

After a long time, I finally came to the tower base under the bridge on the opposite side of the river. This place should be similar to the Riverside Park, but it feels shabby. Not to mention tourists, almost no one can be seen. However, I saw that the tower door on one side was open and there were people guarding it, so I felt relieved immediately. You can take the elevator to the bridge deck level, and there is also a level in the middle where you can walk to the tower on the opposite side, and then take the elevator up. The door here is closed at 5 pm and you are not allowed to enter the tower or go up the bridge. Those who come to take photos should pay attention to the time. It seems impossible to take photos of the sunset and night view on the bridge, but it is still very nice to take photos of the night view of the bridge under the bridge. The scenery on the bridge is very good, but because the bridge is in the north-south direction, it is always in the direction of the light on one side and the backlight on the other. It is recommended to come in the morning and evening when the sun is not strong, or in the afternoon like we did, so that the side facing the sea is in the backlight and the side facing the river is in the direction of the light, and the scenery on the Haidian River side is better. Although this is not the commanding height of Haikou, the angle is very good, and you can feel the unique scenery of the city of Haikou. This kind of free place with good scenery has always been our favorite.

I only saw it from a distance. I didn't get to the bottom of it. So it's hard to comment. The night view and the day view are both beautiful.

At night, every extended cable of the Century Bridge will be lit up by lights, and the bright lights are very spectacular.

Drive past. You can't stop on the bridge, but the view is great! Have dinner in the fishing village next to the bridge. The taste is very Hainanese and the environment is very pleasant. Standing on the beach, watching the Century Bridge and the sunset is unforgettable!

Ever since Ge You took a taxi across this bridge in If You Are the One, this bridge has appeared in various movies and TV series. The recent Love Is Back was mostly filmed in Haikou. This bridge has also appeared countless times. The seawater surges under the bridge, connecting Haikou City and Haidian Island. You can see this place from Wanlv Park. It is beautiful no matter day or night.

I walked across this bridge in the car. It was so spectacular. If I have another chance, I would like to walk across it.

There is also a park under the Century Bridge, but it is sparsely populated. Walking under the bridge, there were two young men following me. I was a little scared in the middle of the day. But they were probably afraid of meeting other people in such a place... So if you are a couple, I suggest you don't go to Century Bridge Park.

Haikou is all-encompassing. Although it does not have the charm of Sanya, you will still be impressed by its delicacy and gentleness after visiting Haikou. Food is also a must.
