2016 is the Year of the Monkey, and Nanwan Monkey Island is the first scenic spot we chose to visit. If you like to get up close to monkeys, I recommend going there, but don't go during the Spring Festival. First of all, you will have to wait for 2 hours or more to take the cable car, unless you line up very early. The monkeys are cute and the scenery is beautiful, but the most profound feeling after a day is that everyone! Yes! People!

There are three ways to get to Nanwan Monkey Island: the first is to take the Tanka people's bus boat at the Xincun Wharf for 1 yuan, or 2 yuan on holidays to the wharf on the other side, and then take a negotiable private shuttle bus, which costs about 100 yuan for a round trip (of course, you can also walk about 30 minutes to the area where there are monkeys). The electric car can take you to the gate of the Monkey Island scenic area, or take you to Nanwan Village where you can watch monkeys for free without a ticket.

The second option is to take the cable car from Xincun Pier. It is said that the overlooking view is also very good, but I have not actually experienced it.

The third is to drive to Nanwan Village. After entering Monkey Island, you can see monkeys along the way. When we went there, there was traffic control at the gate due to the Spring Festival flow restriction. After negotiations, we were able to enter the Monkey Island area. After entering, we used a drone to see the scenery of Monkey Island, which was still very pleasing to the eye!

3. When feeding monkeys, you should feed them all at once. If you leave some food in your hand, the monkeys will think you are teasing them and rush to grab it.

4. Do not make eye contact with monkeys for a long time, otherwise, they will think you are teasing them and will come up to bite and steal your things.

5. The monkeys on Nanwan Monkey Island have been domesticated and are very smart, so don't open your bags in front of them, such as camera bags, handbags, etc. They will think you are going to give them food and will jump up to grab your things.

6. If a naughty monkey jumps on your shoulder (this happens often), don't be afraid or scream. Just spread your hands to show that you have no food for it, it will understand and leave.

7. Don’t wear sunglasses, or they will be snatched away by jealous and ambiguous monkeys.

To be honest, the scenery along the cable car is better than on the island. Below is the fish farm of the Tanka family. The monkey peed on my husband's vest. It is still worth going to see.

Why do you say you are curious about this attraction? The monkeys here live in groups. Because they are wild free-range macaques, you can see monkeys everywhere as soon as you step into this mountain. They are about 50 in a group, led by the monkey king. The monkey king is relatively large in height. If you are lucky enough to see it, you will find that its natural leadership style does not care about you at all. If you scare it or make a threatening move, it will summon a group of its younger brothers to beat you. The little monkey will not take the initiative to attack people, but the scenic spot has a clear regulation that you cannot bring drinks and food to the island, because the monkey will grab it. If you don’t give it, it will bite you. Most tourists will be very obedient. There are exceptions for some, but for safety reasons, it is recommended not to bring food and drinks. Monkey Island is not very big, and it can be visited in less than two hours. There is a buffet on the island for 68 yuan per person.

Note:

1. Don't wear brightly colored clothes. Female monkeys are very jealous, especially during the estrus period. If you wear more beautiful clothes than her, she will think that others will only look at you and not her, then she will get angry and do some unsafe things towards you.

2. Don’t open your bag to take things out in front of a monkey, as it will think you are finding food for it. Don’t put your bag on the ground alone when taking pictures, as it will open the zipper of your bag to take things out when you are not paying attention.

3. Don't scare it, yell at it, stamp your feet or make gestures at it with your fists. It will think that you are going to do something bad to it or even provoke it.

4. Those who bring children should be careful not to let them come into contact with monkeys alone to avoid getting scratched. There are thousands of monkeys on the island. If they are really scratched, you will not be able to catch them or recognize which monkey it is. Do not let your children cry or make a fuss in front of the monkeys.

5. There will be people selling melon seeds in the scenic area. If you want to feed the monkeys, feed them all at once and don't tease them, as they will swarm over to snatch the food.

The afternoon itinerary is the shopping attractions that are a must for the tour group. Although it is called a shopping attraction, if you keep a calm mind, it is also a scenic spot full of ethnic atmosphere.

I went to Monkey Island by car. I stayed in Jinjiang, a half-mountain in Dadonghai. I followed the navigation to Monkey Island. It was 65 kilometers and 1 hour and 20 minutes. After getting off the highway, I had to walk a long way. The speed limit was 40-60 all the way. It was so depressing to drive. I arrived at Monkey Island at 11 o'clock and exchanged tickets to board the island. I queued for 20 minutes to get on the cable car. The whole journey took 7 minutes. It was very exciting. My 6-year-old daughter was so scared that she hid in her mother's arms the whole time. There are many monkeys on the island. Each of them stared at the tourists' hands with their little eyes. I witnessed several robberies. The most dangerous thing was that there were two male tourists feeding, and there were a group of monkeys around them. They were a little scared, so they shouted at the monkeys. The monkeys began to show their teeth and confronted for a long time. Finally, the security guards drove them away with slingshots... After enjoying the battle between humans and monkeys, I went to see the monkey acrobatics. The performance time was too short and the children liked it very much. I took the children to stroll around slowly, turned around 2 times and left the island in an hour. I didn't feel regretful because I had done enough strategies before. After getting off the island, we went to the beach next to the parking lot. The water was clear and the sand was fine. Most importantly, there were few people and the original atmosphere was strong! My daughter didn't want to leave when she came. She played for 2 hours and was dragged away by her mother until she was tired.

Generally speaking, Monkey Island is more suitable for bringing children to play. When you come to Monkey Island, you must go to the beach next to the parking lot. You can also see fishermen picking coconuts on the spot.

We went to Monkey Island at 4pm. The cableway experience was pretty good. There was no glass and 360° ventilation. The cableway took less than five minutes to reach the scenic area. The scenery was nice along the way! You can see the Tanka Fishing Raft (a village living on boats) (locals take a boat from the pier to another pier for one yuan per person. You can go and experience it). In fact, after arriving on land, we walked around Monkey Island for 20 minutes and then came out. The monkeys on the island were all trained and pitiful. The monkeys ran away as soon as the trainer waved the rope or the security guard took the slingshot. There was nothing to see, so I don't recommend going there. You can go and see the Tanka Fishing Raft.

The management of ticket sales and ticket checking is not good, and the development is not perfect. There are not many monkeys in the scenic area, but it is very good to be able to get close to them.

The scenery of Monkey Island can also be found in other places, so it cannot be considered unique. However, it is a special feature when combined with the island scenery. If you are short on time and want to enjoy both seabird tours and ecological tours, this is of course the first choice. In addition, you can take a cable car to the island, which is also one of its special features.

The public service requirements cannot be too high, after all, there are many tourists and queues are inevitable. In addition, public services also require the cooperation of the public. There are many people and many things to do, so sometimes things are not done well, which is understandable. So I give it four stars. I can't say it's great, but I should say it's really good.
