Maybe because the new master couldn't get paid, our boat flew past like an arrow from a string. It was terrible.

4. All small attractions in the scenic area require additional payment, see the picture for details. And the boat driver will take you to buy tickets, and they have a large commission.

5. Trick you into eating farm meals. Trick you into riding the scenic area's electric car. Take you on a detour to the duck farm to buy salted duck eggs. If you don't comply, they'll give you the cold shoulder. Shameless!

The average waiting time for the boat is 30 minutes, which is a long time considering the multiple scenic spots. The ticket office is a perfect embodiment of chaos-people headed by tour guides and boatmen cut in line and squeezed, completely destroying the fragile order.

If you take a boat, there are different types of boats at different prices, depending on your personal preference. We took a steamer and sped through the Baiyangdian Lake. One point that needs to be mentioned here is that if you row a boat from the cruise ship pier to the most popular Lotus Grand View Garden scenic area, the one-way distance is about 4 kilometers. It takes almost an hour for a one-way trip by human rowing, so the round trip is two hours. If you take into account the time you spend visiting the scenic spots, the boatman will wait for you outside, so a wooden boat for most of the day costs 100 yuan, which is really very cheap.

When it comes to boating, whether you are taking a small wooden boat or a speedboat, you will normally sail on the designated "channel", which has a wide view and is safe. But to be honest, the scenery you see is limited, and you miss the best scenery of the lotus pond and reed marsh in Baiyangdian. When I went there, I gave the boatman an extra 100 yuan to take us to the deep reed marsh to play, quietly pick lotus pods, appreciate lotus flowers, take photos, and go boating in the reed marsh. That is the real beauty, and I highly recommend everyone to do the same. In fact, it takes almost two hours for the boatman to row to the deep end of the pond, and it is very worthwhile to spend the extra money.

As for the scenic spots on the shore, such as the Lotus Grand View Garden, you need to buy extra tickets. To be honest, they are all man-made attractions. It is enough to choose one to visit. It takes about an hour to walk around the scenic area. I still recommend the Lotus Grand View Garden, which is well built and has complete supporting facilities in all aspects.

There are many places to eat at the entrance of the scenic area and the scenic spots on the shore. Some are as high-end as those in resorts, and some are like those in food stalls. Riding a boat through the reed marshes and eating lotus seeds bought by my dad is one of the best memories of my childhood. When I grew up, I drove my parents to Baiyangdian again. The scenic area has changed a lot. It is no longer as natural as it was 20 years ago, but I am still as happy as before.

I have been to Anxin Baiyangdian Scenic Area twice, both times by car.

The lake is full of lotus flowers, lotus roots, lotus leaves, blue sky, white clouds, and small boats floating in the lake, it is so beautiful.

In order to let us get close to the lotus flowers, the boatman drove the boat directly into the water. We could grab the lotus flowers with our hands and pluck the big lotus leaves to hold on our heads. We had a lot of fun that day.

We were brought there by local relatives and only paid for the boat, which can hold about 8 people. We didn't pay for the entrance fee to the lake, but if we were not brought by locals, we might have paid for the entrance fee per person.

Mid-August is the best time to visit Baiyangdian. By the end of August, the lotus flowers will have passed their blooming period.

There are many people during holidays, so it is better to go from Monday to Thursday, because there are fewer people, the fun is good, and the accommodation is cheaper. Otherwise, you can only see speedboats on the surface of Baiyangdian Lake. (We stayed at 100 per night) The two-story building is clean, but it is a simple standard room. It is not very direct, but it is better to eat less in those places. The price is not cheap, you can drive to the county town to eat. We arrived at Youren at noon and were picked up at the highway exit. We were hungry when we got there. A portion of fish cost more than 80, including 3 small fish, a small crucian carp, a catfish, and a small black fish. The portion was not very large. I heard that the meals on the island and the wooden houses on the water are more expensive and the portion is smaller. (If you want to stay in a hotel or wooden house on the island, you can only eat there, otherwise you have to take a boat out, and the entrance fee to the lake is 40 per person, which is not cost-effective.

After dinner, the store owner will call a speedboat to take you to various islands. The speedboat costs 150 for the whole journey, and you can call to pick you up at any time after you finish your visit. You can check online which island is more suitable to go to, because many islands are similar.

The next day, the store arranged a wooden boat for us to take us to the free waterway and pick some lotus flowers for free. It felt great. I felt that riding a wooden boat was much more fun than a speedboat and going to the islands, because riding a wooden boat to see the scenery was the only way to feel that we had been to Baiyangdian.

2-day tour around Beijing, I have been there twice. The first time was organized by the company for a meeting. It is a beautiful place suitable for training. The second time was with friends. There are many farmhouses. It is no problem to stay quietly for 2 days.

If you go nearby, it is recommended to play for 1 day. If you are far away and make a special trip, it is recommended to stay for a day. Even if the entrance ticket is increased a little, we can take the boat at will! The most worthwhile thing to visit here is the scenery in the lake. Other attractions are not interesting (you need to buy tickets separately, the cheapest is 40 yuan/person). The family sat on a wooden boat, which was very pleasant. If you pay the boatman 100 yuan more, you can not take the route. He also took us to the reed path to the reeds to see the natural scenery. The boatman was very honest. He picked lotus leaves and lotus flowers for you and gave you some explanations. The scenery is worthy of the title of "Pearl of the North". The scenery on the lake is picturesque!

The scenery here is mainly reed marshes. You can sit on a boat to explore the dense reeds on both sides of the river. From time to time, local people paddle their boats past, which feels very leisurely.

We went to the Lotus Garden a little late, and many lotus flowers had withered. But even so, we could still find the lotus flowers we liked. It was just that there were too many people, which greatly weakened the scenery.

The huge ticket hall of the scenic spot was empty, but the lady in the small shop next to it invited us into her shop, saying that we could buy discounted tickets. This blatant behavior of stealing customers is a Chinese characteristic. Without further ado, after checking the tickets, we got on the small wooden boat, and the two boatmen went straight to the Lotus Grand View Garden.

I heard that the lotus flowers in Baiyangdian are worth seeing every summer. In September, most of the lotus flowers have withered, and only a few are still standing stubbornly waiting for me to see them. This is my fate with them, but it’s a pity that they will not turn into fairies. Baiyangdian is full of reeds, but unfortunately they haven’t turned yellow yet.

Water, reeds, lotus leaves, and a few ospreys, other than that, Baiyangdian Lake seems to have nothing else that can attract me. The cultural projects here, such as the Gazi, are just like most modern artificial attractions in the country, which are all so disappointing. Except for the ticket price, which is in line with international standards, everything else can only be in line with the Nan Caocao Tomb in Xigaoxue Village, Anfeng Township, Anyang County, Henan Province.

The quiet, natural, pristine environment and the refreshing fragrance of lotus flowers remind me of this poem.

Anxin County is not far from Beijing and is a good place for a self-driving tour, but if you want to appreciate the lotus, you have to pay attention to the season.
