The Zhili Governor's Office is located in the prosperous area of the ancient city of Baoding. It is the only provincial government office in the Qing Dynasty that has been preserved intact in my country. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. In the eighth year of Emperor Kangxi's reign (1669), the Daning Dusi was abolished by imperial decree. At the same time, the Zhili governor moved from Zhengding to Baoding, and Baoding began to become the political center of Zhili Province. From then on until the Xuantong period, this was the location of the military and political hub of Zhili Province in the Qing Dynasty. All the successive governors basically worked and lived here, and the important military and civilian policies of the entire Zhili Province were basically issued from here. 74 people served as the governor-general of Zhili for 99 terms. Tang Zhiyu, Li Wei, Fang Guancheng, Qishan, Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, Ronglu, Yuan Shikai and other famous officials of the Qing Dynasty were all stationed here. Many major events that affected the dynasty's political situation were directly related to this provincial government office. Its historical connotation is very rich. It can be said that "a governor's office is a portrayal of half of the history of the Qing Dynasty." The architectural layout of the Zhili Governor's Office not only inherited the characteristics of the previous government offices, but also was influenced by the architectural layout of the royal palaces in Beijing during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and even the regulations of residential buildings. The entire Zhili Governor's Office building faces south and is about 134.4 meters wide from east to west (42 meters in the Qing Dynasty system), about 224 meters deep from north to south, covering a total area of more than 30,000 square meters. Its buildings are divided into three roads: east, middle and west. The middle road has been well preserved to this day, with five courtyards including the main gate, ceremonial gate, lobby, second hall, and Guantai Shangfang, with left and right wing rooms and ear rooms, all of which are small-style hard mountain buildings. The buildings on the east road, such as the East Flower Hall and the external signing and detention room, are basically well preserved.
In addition to the main gate of the Zhili Governor's Office, during the Qing Dynasty, there were ancillary buildings such as the gate, screen wall, flagpole, music pavilion and drum pavilion, a pair of stone lions, east and west classrooms, and a cannon fort outside the west gate for daily timekeeping and sending memorials. Although most of these buildings no longer exist, the semi-enclosed structure they formed and the majestic atmosphere they created once gave people a solemn, mysterious and daunting feeling. The central building is located on the central axis of the Governor's Office. The main buildings inside the gate are, from south to north, the main gate, the ceremonial gate, the stone archway, the lobby, the second hall, the inner gate, the upper house of the official tower, the back storehouse, and the wing rooms, ear rooms, corridors and other ancillary buildings in the halls and courtyards north of the ceremonial gate.

The Governor-General of Zhili was stationed in Baoding, the capital of Zhili Province, and his residence was the Governor-General's Office of Zhili. His official title was Governor-General of Zhili and other places, and he was in charge of military affairs, food supplies, river management, and governor-general affairs. He was one of the nine highest-ranking frontier ministers in the Qing Dynasty, in charge of military and civilian affairs.
There are many well-known celebrities among the governors, such as Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, Li Wei, Yuan Shikai, etc. Visiting cultural heritage actually gives you an opportunity to explore the thoughts and traces of these ancients. As the saying goes, "Look up, howl at the sky, and be full of lofty aspirations. Thirty years of fame and fortune are dust and soil, and eight thousand miles of journey are clouds and moon." When you look back on the past and talk to your ancestors across the air, you will resonate with them.
The scenery is very nice, but the building is too big to be photographed completely. The rooms on both sides are all exhibitions. There are relatively few real objects, mostly display boards. If you look carefully, an hour and a half is enough.
It was just an office space for important officials of the imperial court at that time. Neither the architecture nor the decoration is worth seeing. You can just look at the exhibition inside and learn about the historical evolution of the official system of the Qing Dynasty.
One of the must-see attractions in Baoding, a portrait of half of the history of the Qing Dynasty.
It is a national key cultural relic protection unit. The national model is quite large and you can see some related exhibitions.
Zhili governed a large area, and the famous people who served as governors successively included Li Wei, Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, and Yuan Shikai. You can take a look at the layout of the courtyard rooms. There are not many cultural relics inside. The exhibitions are mostly pictures and texts, and the few real objects are also placed in a disorderly manner.
An important attraction in Baoding, the Zhili Governor's Mansion. It's interesting to see
The Zhili Governor's Office was the office of the Zhili Governor's Office in the Qing Dynasty. After its construction, it was also used as the office of warlord Cao Kun and the Hebei Provincial Government of the National Government. It has an important position in history from the Qing Dynasty to modern times.
The building complex is divided into three lines: east, middle and west. The middle line is the area with the most concentrated landscape. The scale of the entire scenic area is not large, and it takes about 1.5 hours to visit.
As the southern gate of Beijing, Baoding has a very important military and geographical location, and the history of the Qing Dynasty is presented here!
I went to college in Baoding in the 1990s, but never went inside. At the end of 2014, I was interested in visiting Baoding for a weekend and visited here. The whole palace is well preserved, but the surrounding environment is too poor.
The Zhili Governor's Office is a must-see place for tourists to Baoding. It was the office of the Zhili Governor in the Qing Dynasty. It was built in the seventh year of Yongzheng's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1729). It is about 224 meters long from north to south and 134.4 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of more than 30,000 square meters. It is divided into three roads: east, middle and west. The main buildings are concentrated in the middle road. It is a typical northern government office complex and the only most complete provincial government office in the Qing Dynasty that still exists in my country.
There are many plaques and couplets in the Governor-General's Office, which are full of cultural connotations. Several special exhibitions reveal the rise and fall of the Zhili Governor-General's Office and even the Qing Dynasty from various angles. It takes two or three hours to visit it carefully.
2017.7.16 The whole family traveled in the summer vacation, drove from Tianjin to Baoding, and visited the Zhili Governor's Office Museum; it has a very historical atmosphere; the building is antique;
Every time my friends come to Baoding, I will take them with me, but to be honest, there is really nothing to see.
There is a parking space at the door of the Zhili Governor's Mansion, which seems to be 5 yuan. The ticket is 30 yuan, and the explanation is charged according to the number of people. I personally think it is unnecessary to ask for an explanation. First, there are broadcasts everywhere in the courtyard, and you can also scan the QR code to listen, which is quite convenient. The Governor's Mansion is just a big house. To be honest, it is quite boring. I took a few pictures of the plaques of Qianlong, Cixi, and Guangxu, and then came out. I didn't listen to the explanation or see the exhibition. Even so, it took more than 30 minutes. There are dolls in the Governor's Mansion based on Li Hongzhang. I don't know if it is made of wax or some other material. It looks creepy---there were not many people when we were visiting, the light was dim, and the atmosphere was gloomy. Looking at these dolls wearing Qing Dynasty clothes and squinting their eyes, smiling, always reminds me of Lin Zhengying's zombie movies... I was sweating profusely, and when I came out, the sweat actually fell.
Along with the Forbidden City, Huozhou Prefecture, and Neixiang County, it is a representative of the four levels of government offices in China: central, provincial, state, and county. The courtyard route also has a special Chinese government culture exhibition. However, Zhili and the identity of the Governor-General of Zhili are too special, so it is not only a basic introduction to the provincial government offices, but also includes many deeds of the Governor-General of Zhili in the Qing Dynasty, as well as Zeng Guofan's personal deeds when he served as the Governor-General of Zhili.
On May Day, there are huge crowds of people, and this place is no exception. Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, Rong Lu, Yuan Shikai, several figures who have influenced Chinese history, once worked here. Many memorials on international livelihoods came from here and eventually formed national policies. So it is a must-see.
The Zhili Governor's Office is still solemn, but things outside the office have changed a lot.
The museum has many exhibitions on the Qing Dynasty bureaucracy and historical figures, which is very informative.
It was my first time in Baoding. If there were several attractions nearby, I decided to go and see them. The process was quite tortuous. I felt that the address was not accurate. I followed the navigation and walked back and forth several times but still did not get there. I had to ask for directions before I got there. The ticket was 30 yuan, and the student ticket was 15 yuan. The price was OK, not ridiculously expensive. After entering, I walked around several times and finished the tour in less than an hour. I felt that there was nothing to see, and I did not feel any historical feelings. Then I took a tour guide. The tour guide was very good. I felt that I had learned a little bit...Haha, I felt like I was writing a review. I felt that I did nothing good or bad. Then I went to the lotus pond and the Catholic Church...
The park is very big, and you can get a free audio guide by scanning the QR code. There are display cabinets displaying real objects, as well as figurines that simulate the scenes at that time. The place is also easy to find, not far from Baoding Station.
You can learn about Baoding's history as the capital of Zhili Province in the Qing Dynasty and part of the history of the Qing Dynasty.
Many great people in the history of the Qing Dynasty were related to the Zhili Governor-General's Office. Li Wei, Liu Yong, Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, Yuan Shikai and others had served as the Governor-General of Zhili. The Governor-General of Zhili was at the foot of the emperor, holding the throat of the capital, and had a high position of power and was known as the "head of the governors-general in the world". He had an important influence on the safety of the capital and the entire Qing Dynasty. During the Tongzhi period, the Governor-General of Zhili also served as the Minister of Beiyang, thus becoming the one with the most military power among the governors-general. Therefore, many important officials in the late Qing Dynasty had the experience of serving as the Governor-General of Zhili.
The Zhili Governor's Office, also known as the Zhili Governor's Office, is a well-preserved provincial government office in the Qing Dynasty in China and the only one in existence today. It is located in the city center with convenient transportation.
Zhili Governor's Office, Baoding City
The Zhili Governor-General's Office, also known as the Zhili Governor-General's Department, is the only provincial-level government office of the Qing Dynasty that has been preserved intact in my country. It has gone through the reigns of Yongzheng, Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng, Tongzhi, Guangxu, and Xuantong. It is a microcosm of the history of the Qing Dynasty and can be described as "a governor-general's office, a portrayal of half of the history of the Qing Dynasty."
Built strictly according to the Qing Dynasty system, it is about 130 meters wide from east to west and about 220 meters long from north to south. The government office is divided into three roads: east, middle and west. The main body is built on the north-south central axis, that is, the middle road includes the main gate, ceremonial gate, lobby, second hall, official residence, upper house, etc., and is equipped with left and right side rooms, wing rooms and other hard-mountain buildings.
In the Yuan Dynasty, it was the seat of Shuntianlu General Administration Office; in the Ming Dynasty, it was Baoding Prefecture Office and Daning Military Command Office; in the Qing Dynasty, it was Daning Military Command Office and Cangjiang Office. In the second year of Yongzheng's reign, it was changed to Zhili Governor-General Office. In the more than 190 years of history of Zhili Governor-General Office, 74 Zhili Governors-General were born.
Among these governors-general, there are famous ones such as Li Hongzhang who had the longest term of office but received both praise and criticism, Zeng Guofan who was blind in his right eye and had to do everything himself, Yuan Shikai who abolished the imperial examination system after failing the provincial examination, and Liu Yong whose story about his short term of office is widely circulated; there are also alternative governors such as the corrupt first governor Li Weijun and the short-lived last governor Zhang Zhenfang.
A Governor's Office reflects half of the history of the Qing Dynasty. This statement is absolutely true. I have been to the Liangjiang Governor's Office in Nanjing Presidential Palace before. It is divided into three routes: East, Middle and West. Although only the Middle and East routes of the Zhili Governor's Office are still there, you can still smell how powerful the Zhili Governor was as a frontier official. Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang were both very arrogant. I entered at 4 o'clock and took these photos before the scene was cleared. The Governor's Office looked even more vicissitudes in the afterglow of the setting sun.
This is a historical building with the characteristics of the Qing Dynasty. Yuan Shikai, Ronglu, Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang all worked here.
Because I am particularly interested in ancient buildings, I really want to see the stories behind them. Guangyuan is also very good, but it was closed when I came.
The Zhili Governor's Office has been an extremely important place since the Qing Dynasty, and it is the only one in the country now. The flagpole in front of the door is very tall, which is a symbol of the historical status of the Zhili Governor's Office. Unfortunately, the street in front of the Governor's Office is crowded with traffic. Although the Governor's Office Square has been built, it has been reduced to a large parking lot, which makes the Governor's Office no longer majestic, which is a pity. In addition, the fun of the museum exhibition needs to be improved.
It's okay, it's worth visiting the historical sites, and I learned about the history of the Governor's Office and part of the Qing history.
The Zhili Governor's Office, also known as the Zhili Governor's Office, is a well-preserved provincial government office in the Qing Dynasty. The original building was built in the Yuan Dynasty. In the early Ming Dynasty, it was the Baoding government office. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, it was changed to the Daning Dusi Office. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was changed to the Canjiang Office.
It is known as the No. 1 government office in the world, and is said to be "a governor's office that reflects half of the history of the Qing Dynasty". Historical celebrities such as Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, and Yuan Shikai have served as governors here. Various cultural systems and history of the Qing Dynasty are exhibited inside.
It's great and worth a visit. The architecture is secondly important. You can learn about ancient history.
It would be better to find a tour guide to explain the must-visit places in Baoding.
It's OK, it would be better if there were more cultural relics. Not too small, not too big.
Zhili Governor's Office: Zhili Governor's Office was the office of the highest military and political official of Zhili Province (now Hebei Province) in the Qing Dynasty. It is the best-preserved provincial government office in the Qing Dynasty. Its predecessor can be traced back to the "Xuanhua Hall" built during the Zhiyuan period of the Yuan Dynasty (1264-1294 AD).
Tickets: 30 yuan
Parking: 10 yuan
Reference time: 1 hour
As soon as you enter the gate, you can feel the majestic atmosphere of the Governor's Office. It is indeed a bit solemn and mysterious, and it feels daunting. Especially after passing the ceremonial gate, the three big characters "公生明" on the Jieshi Archway will make everyone feel awe! The sixteen characters on the back of the gate, "Your salary and salary are the blood and fat of the people. It is easy to abuse the people, but it is difficult to deceive the gods", clearly interpret the principles of being an official. However, how many officials throughout history can practice this principle! !
The museum's architecture is well preserved, but the exhibition content is a little worse, there are too few real objects, and the wax figures are lifelike. Through the visit, you can generally understand the daily work and life of the Governor of Zhili in the Qing Dynasty, and understand the official system of the Qing Dynasty. It's good. The ticket price is 30 yuan/person, which is also quite reasonable.
A proper government office. It was a place of power and nobility in the Qing Dynasty. After seeing this place, I will feel more deeply when watching TV series in the future. Other than that, nothing special. The tickets are a bit expensive. It seems that the tickets for scenic spots in Baoding are not cheap.
I came here on a business trip, and I felt that this place would have a bit of a feeling of being at the feet of the emperor. The porches are all built in the Qing style. After passing through the main gate, ceremonial gate, lobby, and second hall, you will feel that there is really nothing here, and there is only a little information in the archives. If the ticket was 10 yuan, maybe more people would come to see it. The difference between the north and the south is that even if the scenic spots in the south are later imitations, they will be adequately maintained and cleaned...
I came here mainly for Zeng Li. The Zhili Governor's Office, Hebei Provincial Government, and Baoding Special Office are all here.
Baoding was once one of the most important cities in North China.
The ticket is already 30, it should be updated soon. I don't know if it's because I've visited too many similar attractions or too many ancient buildings, the Zhili Governor's Mansion didn't give me much surprise as expected, it's too commercialized, I can only verify it myself
The Zhili Governor-General's jurisdiction was equivalent to the current Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Henan. But he was known for his integrity. The Zhili Governor-General's Mansion is located in the center of the old city of Baoding. The courtyard is not big, and there are few feminine decorations. There are many plaques in the courtyard reminding people to be honest. There is a very new building next to it, which is the place where the first major case since the founding of the People's Republic of China was approved. The ticket price is 30 yuan for adults.
The best preserved Governor's Office in China. Beijing originally belonged to Zhili Province. Zhili was very important to the royal family. He was one of the nine highest-ranking frontier ministers in the Qing Dynasty, in charge of the military and civil affairs of Zhili (today's Tianjin, most of Hebei, and a small part of Henan and Shandong). Since Zhili Province was located in the capital, the Governor-General of Zhili was called the head of the frontier ministers. Baoding was called the southern gate of Beijing at that time. To defend the country and pacify the world, opening up Baoding would lead to Beijing. Therefore, the Governor-General of Zhili was held by some relatively important people, such as Li Hongzhang, Zeng Guofan, Yuan Shikai...
The current Zhili Governor's Office has completely preserved the architecture and layout of the time. It is quite good inside and has strong educational significance. There is also a model of the ancient Baoding city, some customs and habits, and a detailed introduction to a series of humiliations from the Qing government, the Boxer Rebellion, the Eight-Nation Alliance, etc., which is very insightful. Opposite the Governor's Office is the ancient lotus pond that received Empress Dowager Cixi at that time. You can go there to have a look...
A place with history, a place for future generations to be educated. It is suggested that those officials should be educated there.
We went there on a rainy day, and the Zhili Governor-General's Office Museum was quite crowded. We didn't hire a tour guide, so we really couldn't understand it. Next time I take my parents there, I must hire a tour guide.
The essence of an era: Gong, Sheng, and Ming. These three words have far-reaching influence. Baoding must-visit scenic spots
The Zhili Governor's Office is located in the downtown area of the old city of Baoding. We went there only because we had some extra time, so we just took a look. It is said that this is the only well-preserved Governor's Office, but it looks ordinary. The layout of government offices in various parts of China is probably similar, with the office in the front and the inner hall of the governor's family in the back (why does it feel like a shop in front and a workshop in the back?). In fact, many governors' families do not all live here. It is normal to be an official for a few years, not to mention Zhili Province, which is at the gate of the capital? If the emperor or some royal relative or the powerful dignitary of the time dislikes them, they have to be replaced, so why bring the whole family with them? You can look at the list of names of the Zhili Governors in it. They are replaced quite frequently. The most famous ones are Li Wei, Zeng Guofan, and Li Hongzhang.
The entrance fee is 30 yuan. The area is said to be 30,000 square meters, but the actual open area is only about half of that.
It is a place where you can feel the sense of that era. It is a place where high-ranking officials of that era work.
The ticket price is 20 yuan. The Zhili Governor's Office was the office of the Governor-General of Zhili in the Qing Dynasty. It is a museum that tells the culture of the Qing Dynasty's yamen. It is very small. Those who are interested in Qing history can go and have a look. They can learn a lot of relevant knowledge.
It is next to the ancient lotus pond and the ticket price is also 30 yuan. Personally, I think this place is more worth seeing than the lotus pond because I am more interested in history and it is relatively new and more authentic.
What impressed me most was a big flagpole. I guess it used to be the tallest building in Baoding. Unfortunately, we can no longer see the flag fluttering.
The courtyard gate is heavily guarded, especially the high threshold. It feels very majestic when you walk in.
There are quite a few stone tablets, but unfortunately I don’t understand calligraphy. What I am more interested in is the introduction to the successive governors here in the late Qing Dynasty, which is worth seeing.
The whole tour took more than 2 hours. It would have been better if there was a tour guide, but there were not many people and I couldn't join the tour group.
Relatively speaking, the Governor's Mansion is okay. I suggest you go to Baoding to have a look.
Those who know a lot about history can go and have a look, and those who don’t know much about history should go and have a look even more.
The Zhili Governor's Office is located on Yuhua Road, Baoding City. It is a relatively well-preserved government office of the Qing Dynasty. There is a folk saying that "a governor's office reflects half of the history of the Qing Dynasty". It is a good place to take children to learn about government culture and the history of the Qing Dynasty. The store price is 30 yuan, and student tickets are half price. The most famous governors of Zhili in the Qing Dynasty include Li Wei, Li Hongzhang, Yuan Shikai, etc.
It's not a holiday, so there aren't many people. The history is explained very clearly. You can see it to understand the history of the Qing Dynasty. The ticket is 15 yuan. Parking is convenient for 5 yuan.
There are many old trees in the front yard of the lobby. The tour guide told us that there are also many owls, which are the mascots of the Governor's Office.
The adult ticket price for the Baoding Zhili Governor's Office Museum is 30 yuan, and the ticket office is on the west side of the gate. According to the functional division, the office area of the Governor's Office is restored according to the appearance when Li Hongzhang was the Governor of Zhili; the living area is restored according to the appearance when Zeng Guofan lived here. In fact, when anyone lived here, the houses were similar, but there were deviations in the decorative details. As everyone is familiar with, Li Wei in "Li Wei as an Official", Li Hongzhang, Zeng Guofan, Ronglu who informed during the Reform Movement of 1898, and even Yuan Shikai, all served as the Governor of Zhili and lived here. The office area before the second hall is a replica, so it can be visited up close. The furnishings in the living area after the third hall are all authentic, so you can only lie on the glass to see.
I won't go into detail about the general introduction of the Zhili Governor's Office here, you can find it by searching online. I will only give a brief introduction to the exhibits and attractions in the Governor's Office so that you can have a more thorough understanding when you go there. The content is basically the same as the explanation given by the tour guide you paid for at the entrance of the Governor's Office. Of course, if you can afford it, it would be better to hire a tour guide to explain it to you, so you can ask questions at any time.
After following the east road to Yimenyuan, you have completed your visit to the Zhili Governor's Office. There are rich exhibits in the Governor's Office. If you are in a group, it is best to hire a tour guide. If you are alone, you should also listen to the tour guide. You will gain a lot. In addition, there is a multimedia imprint of the ancient city in the department room on the east side of the lobby. It is played every half an hour. It is very well made and should not be missed.
Damn. There are quite a lot of people on weekends. Do you know who the governor of Zhili is? -------------------------------I won't tell you. It's --------------------------- Li Wei
The Zhili Governor's Office is one of the famous attractions in Baoding. It has been a government office since the Yuan Dynasty. Later, it was expanded into the Governor's Office during the Yongzheng period. A total of 59 governors-general worked here, many of whom were historical celebrities. The Governor's Office is not very large and was built in strict accordance with the specifications of the Governor's Office of the Qing Dynasty. There are many rooms inside with complicated functions, but unfortunately there are not many cultural relics of historical value, mainly pictures and texts.
