Zhao Yun Temple is a bit tasteless, all new buildings, no old things, indeed it is a bit old. If you don't have time, forget it.

You can go to Hao's Spare Ribs for dinner. The main store is near Zhengding Station. Be sure to go early or it will be sold out. You can also buy roast chicken at Ma's Old Chicken Shop. When I saw the things at the market were very new and there were so many people, I loved to join in the fun. There were really few people in the city at that time.

The history of Zhengding is much longer than that of Shijiazhuang. There is the famous Longxing Temple in the ancient city, and you can buy a combined ticket to visit the two temples.

The four gates of Zhengding Ancient City are all very nice, with Yingxu in the east, Zhenyuan in the west, Yong'an in the north, and Changle in the south. Because of the continuous war, it had almost collapsed during the Republic of China. The South Gate was specially restored, while the West Gate and the North Gate remained in their original state. If you are interested, you can walk to the North Gate and compare it, and you will understand the meaning of crumbling. It is especially recommended to walk around the city wall at night. There weren't many cars on the road, and there wasn't the usual dust. Passing by Chahe River, Zilong Bridge, and Zhengding South Gate, I was in high spirits as we talked and laughed along the way. Was there a lot of work pressure? I didn't think about it at all at this moment. I greeted the oncoming cyclists and enjoyed myself.

The first time I saw the five-story Guanyin, there were not many tourists around at the time. I stayed at her feet. At that moment, I understood why the ancients needed to build these Buddhas. It is so sacred and solemn to have faith and unite people's hearts.

The rebuilt Changle Gate is more than 10 meters high, with 50-meter walls on each side. Walking on the walls on both sides, you can see the remains of the original walls outside the city. Under the Changle Gate Tower, there are also models of ancient weapons such as Qinglong swords, snake spears, halberds, and sticks. There is also a Changshan drum on the west side, which adds a lot of momentum to the gate.

There are still remnants of city walls on the east and west sides of the city gate, but they have been dug into a precarious state, with only a thin layer of adobe left. It seems that they may collapse completely at any time, which makes people feel a little emotional.

There are attractions everywhere in Longxing Temple. Any side hall can make you ponder and study for a long time, so it is worth spending more time to appreciate it carefully. Don't just rush through it. The details you ignore may make you slap your thigh. In addition, there will be performances on holidays, but I personally think that the actors are suspected of being unskilled.

Longxing Temple is really nice, with many attractions inside, and it is worth a visit. Rongguo Mansion is where the old version of Dream of the Red Chamber was filmed, and there is actually nothing much inside, but friends who are interested in literature, especially Redology, can go there.

Zhengding City is very small, with a circumference of no more than ten kilometers. This former "Three Passes Town" and barrier to the capital is now full of clumsy imitations of ancient buildings. The South Gate stands alone on the edge of wild grass, and the Dacheng Hall of the Confucian Temple, where Mr. Liang Sicheng lingered, has been repainted. But strolling in the old city, the four ancient towers of different styles, the bell tower that still retains the Tang style, and the dense Sui and Song steles in the Longxing Temple can still make people truly feel the years and prosperity of the past.

What impressed me most in the Mani Temple was this statue of Guanyin sitting backwards! I couldn't help myself and had to take a picture of it. It was so beautiful. Guanyin Bodhisattva wore a crown on her head, and her expression was relaxed and comfortable, gentle and dignified, with infinite beauty. In 1923, Mr. Lu Xun bought this photo of Guanyin from the Yamamoto Photo Studio in Beiping, and regarded it as a masterpiece of Buddhist aesthetics, and displayed it on his desk; he praised it and said that it could really be called "the most beautiful Guanyin in China".
