Zhuyu Peak Scenic Area

On the second day of arriving at Yuntai Mountain, we went to climb Zhuyu Peak as planned. After getting up in the morning, we checked out of the hotel and transferred our luggage to the car.

The first thing you see after entering the mountain is the statue of the poet Wang Wei.

Unfortunately, it rained the past two days and I heard that the glass plank road was damaged, so we couldn’t walk on it, which was a pity.

After climbing up to the top of Zhuyu Peak, which is 1,308 meters above sea level, you can see the surging clouds and mist, which makes you feel the heroic spirit of "standing on the top of the mountain and looking down on all the mountains". However, the fog is too thick and it is difficult to see clearly.

It was still early when we came out of Hongshi Gorge, so we took a car directly to Zhuyu Peak. On the way, we passed 14 tunnels, namely Diecai Cave. There was a commentary on the car. It was really not easy to build this road, so it is better to experience it yourself.

The Zhuyu Peak and Fenghuangling glass plank roads are in opposite directions. After checking our tickets and entering the gate, we first walked to the left, which is the direction of Zhuyu Peak. We basically climbed stairs along the way, but the journey was not very far.

Zhuyu Peak is commonly known as Xiaobeiding, also known as Fubusan, because of its shape that resembles an upside-down pot. It is 1,308 meters above sea level. There are Zhenwu Emperor Temple, sky bridge and cloud ladder on the top of the peak. According to legend, Wang Wei's famous poem "Remembering My Brothers in Shandong on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month" reads: "As a stranger in a foreign land, I miss my relatives every time I meet the festival. I know from afar that my brothers have climbed to a higher place, and there is one less person wearing dogwood branches." He was inspired by this peak.

Zhuyu Peak is the highest peak in Yuntaishan Scenic Area. There are two ways to get to Zhuyu Peak. One is to take the cable car, which requires additional cable car fees, and the other is to take the shuttle bus, which does not require additional fees. The parking lot on the mountain for the shuttle bus is still a long way from the top of the peak, and it is more than 2 kilometers away from the Fenghuangling Glass Plank Road. There is a separate ticket gate next to the parking lot. After the cable car goes up, it is Fenghuangling, which is very close to the glass plank road. It takes about 20 minutes to walk around the glass plank road and take photos. In the photo, the round mountain top just above the ticket gate is the peak of Zhuyu Peak.

Zhuyu Peak is the main peak of Yuntai Mountain. It is one of the three major scenic spots in Yuntai Mountain and the only scenic spot that requires climbing. Take the scenic bus from the shore service area and pass through the Diecai Cave to reach the entrance of Zhuyu Peak. There are two routes to enter from the entrance, one is to wait for the top of Zhuyu Peak, and the other is to go to the glass plank road.

First take the cable car to Phoenix Ridge and the glass plank road, and then walk for about an hour to Zhuyu Peak. This is a better route arrangement. If you walk directly to Zhuyu Peak, you will consume more physical energy.

Zhuyu Peak is the highest peak, and you can see all the other mountains from it. There is a landmark stone tablet on the top of the mountain, where tourists can take photos. When there are many people, you have to queue up, which makes things more orderly.

Zhuyu Peak is commonly known as Xiaobeiding, also known as Fubusan, because its shape resembles an upside-down pot. It is 1,308 meters above sea level. There is a Zhenwu Temple, a sky bridge and a cloud ladder on the top of the peak. According to legend, Wang Wei's famous poem "Remembering My Brothers in Shandong on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month": "As a stranger in a foreign land, I miss my relatives every time I meet the festival of the dogwood tree. I know that my brothers are climbing high, and there is one less person wearing dogwood." It was inspired by this peak. There is a Yaowang Cave at the waist of the peak, which is 30 meters deep and 10 meters in diameter. It is said that this is the place where Sun Simiao, the king of medicine in the Tang Dynasty, collected herbs and made elixirs. There is an ancient yew at the entrance of Yaowang Cave, which is about 20 meters high, with a trunk as thick as three people hugging, lush branches and leaves, and is about a thousand years old. It is a famous tree in China.

Yuntaishan's highest peak is only a few steps away. The glass plank road was closed when I went there, so there was nothing else to see.

Zhuyu Peak is the main peak of Yuntai, with a height of only 1,300 meters.

You can go from the parking lot to the viewing platform, then to Huixian Bridge, Yaowang Cave and Zhuyu Peak, and finally go down the mountain to the glass plank road.

You can also go from the parking lot to Zhaoshanbai, pass Ning Fengzi's Tomb and Yuntai Temple to the glass plank road, and then climb Zhuyu Peak.

During the National Day holiday, we went the other way and went in the afternoon to avoid people. The queue was at the bus station. After getting off the scenic area bus, we needed to transfer to a minibus and go around the mountain road for 18 bends to reach the entrance. The minibus station was crowded with people. However, there were many buses, one every one or two minutes. No matter how long the queue was, it took less than an hour to get up the mountain. It was much faster to get there at three o'clock. Usually, Zhuyu Peak closes the scenic area gate at 5:30, but there is no time limit during the National Day holiday. However, there are no lights on the mountain, which is too inconvenient when it gets dark. When I went down the mountain, it was already dark. I saw a few bright lights on the mountain. They were illuminated by the mobile phones of the people who climbed later, which was a bit dangerous. Therefore, don't go up the mountain after 5:30. After an hour on the mountain, the sun sets around 6:20, and there is no scenery to see, which is not safe. Zhuyu Peak and Fenghuangling take a total of 2-3 hours. The direction of Wanshan Temple is to climb from the foot of the mountain, and you need to climb 3,000 meters to the top of the mountain; you can't see the Diecai Cave. Zhuyu Peak is divided into two scenic spots, the main peak of Zhuyu Peak and Phoenix Ridge. It takes 2 hours to climb Zhuyu Peak, and 1.5 hours to climb Phoenix Ridge and the glass plank road. I wanted to take my children to climb up and appreciate the artistic conception of "there is one less person with dogwood everywhere". In addition, I have walked the glass plank road many times, so I chose to climb Zhuyu Peak. The mountains are beautiful in autumn~ There are various locks on the guardrails. The kids saw it for the first time and felt it was novel. I had never locked it before, so I might as well try it here~ Engraving on the spot, completed in three minutes, 30 yuan per lock, no deception~

The sea of clouds at the top of the mountain is beautiful, but the glass plank road is not worth going.

The scenery along the way is really spectacular. The driver of the scenic bus has excellent driving skills. Passing through one mountain tunnel after another, "Diecai Cave", one beautiful scene after another jumps into the eyes. The tourists sitting in the car cheered and jumped for joy. Zhuyu Peak is abrupt and is the main peak of Yuntai Mountain, with an altitude of 1297.6 meters.

Climbing Zhuyu Peak is a continuous ups and downs. Looking at the top of Zhuyu Peak in the distance, it is really "looking at the mountain and sighing"! Humans are so small, and nature is so amazing.

It is a bit tiring to climb Zhuyu Peak. The peak is not very high. Standing on the top, you can overlook the whole view of Yuntai Mountain. However, mountain climbing is not only about the altitude, but also about how many steps you have climbed.

I don't know how many times I have walked back and forth on these cliffs. I even sat down and admired the artistic conception of "the wonders of nature" in a daze, admiring the uncanny workmanship of nature, the mysterious and mottled rocks, how many years of wind and frost, and how many beautiful legends are hidden in them.

Refer to Figure 1 to explain the tour route of Zhuyu Peak: the red dot is the ticket gate, the green line is the normal way to the peak, the blue one is the only way down the mountain, and the black line on the right leads to the glass plank road. If you only want to climb the mountain, you can take the green line as soon as you enter the gate, but it is recommended to see the glass plank road, which is really thrilling. If you go to the glass plank road, it will fork from the entrance. There is a black line, which is about 3 or 4 kilometers round trip. On the way back, there is a fork road that goes directly to the green climbing line halfway, so you don’t have to go back to the gate.

I didn't climb Zhuyu Peak, but only went to the Phoenix Glass Plank Road in Zhuyu Peak Scenic Area. It felt really ordinary. It takes at least 2 hours to climb Zhuyu Peak and back. There is a Taoist temple on the top of the mountain. Tourists who have enough physical strength or are interested in Taoism can go and have a look. "I know my brothers are climbing high, and there is one less person wearing dogwood branches" was written by Wang Wei when he climbed Zhuyu Peak.

There are two scenic spots to visit at Zhuyu Peak: one is to climb to the top of Zhuyu Peak, and the other is to walk on the glass plank road on Fenghuangling of Zhuyu Peak. It takes more than an hour to go to the glass plank road. The scenery is pretty good, with solitary peaks standing tall. If you are not physically fit, it is recommended to give up one of them. The entrance to the plank road is Chongyang Pavilion, where you can see the towering Taihang Mountains. The peaks are like screens, and the mountain breeze is very pleasant. You can see the top of Zhuyu Peak from a distance on the corridor of the pavilion. There is a small path from here to Zhuyu Peak. You don't have to walk down the mountain to the top of Zhuyu Peak, but the markings are not very obvious, there is only a small wooden sign. In addition, some of the plank roads at Zhuyu Peak are still a bit steep, so it is not recommended for people with inconvenient legs and feet to climb to the top.

A lot of time will be wasted if you follow the sightseeing route. When I saw the map below, I felt that I should take the glass plank road first, then walk along Phoenix Ridge. There are overlapping routes in the middle that can lead to Zhuyu Peak. When coming down, try to avoid taking overlapping routes as much as possible. After coming down from Zhuyu Peak, you can go out of the observation deck to the starting point. I wonder what you think of this plan?

I started walking according to my plan. The way up the mountain was very difficult. The journey was not as easy as I imagined. It was cloudy and a bit hot and stuffy, and I was sweating all the time. I walked and stopped all the way. Fortunately, I prepared enough water, so I was in good condition. Looking back on the way here, it was extremely difficult, but fortunately, I reached the top. There is no cable car at the top of the mountain, so I can only go down the mountain along the route to the observation deck.

Zhuyu Peak, with an altitude of 1,297.6 meters, is the main peak of Yuntai Mountain. There are two attractions in this scenic spot. One is naturally climbing to the top of Zhuyu Peak to overlook all the mountains, and the other is the newly developed glass plank road.

It is strongly recommended to visit the glass plank road first and then climb to the top of Zhuyu Peak. The road from the main entrance to Zhuyu Peak is very steep and very physically demanding, while the road from the glass plank road to Zhuyu Peak is long and gentle, making it much easier to walk. The total time to visit the two attractions is about 4 hours.

It is about 15 kilometers from the shore service area to the Zhuyu Peak parking lot. The winding mountain road is a two-lane road that goes up along the mountain, passing through 19 tunnels, some of which turn 180 degrees, one after another, and every step is thrilling. I sat by the window of the bus and felt that my life was hanging by a thread. From the parking lot, Zhuyu Peak is quite high, and some sections are very steep. Especially the last section of the summit, which is more than 45 degrees. There are Zhenwu Hall, Niangniang Hall, and God of Wealth Hall on the top. The couplets on the God of Wealth Hall are the best interpretation of seeking the God of Wealth that I have ever seen. It was an epiphany. The Zhuyu Peak cableway is currently under construction, which will make it much easier to reach Zhuyu Peak in the future.

The biggest surprise of the trip was Zhuyu Peak. The scenery we saw the day before was not very amazing because of the rain, but the scenery we saw after climbing to the top of Zhuyu Peak the next day was indeed beautiful. Climbing the steep stairs is very tiring, so it is recommended to consider it carefully if you are traveling with the elderly or children.

When you reach the top of the mountain, the view is beautiful, with layers of fog, which is rare. From a distance, you can no longer tell whether it is a mountain or the sea.

The process of going up the mountain is also a mountain road with 18 bends, many tunnels, and the maximum turn is 360 degrees. It is really dangerous, so the driver asked us to wear seat belts when going up the mountain, which is very responsible. There are many people on the glass plank road, especially many people who cut in line. It is still very special to walk on it.

Zhuyu Peak is located in the Yuntaishan Scenic Area. It is well worth taking a day to visit. Climbing the mountain to enjoy the beautiful scenery will bring you a sense of comfort.

When we were going down the mountain, we also found "Cornus fruit", which were small red.

There is not much scenery on the top, just a big hall, and it is mainly used for climbing.

It is said that the bus up the mountain only runs until 4pm, which is the peak season, and the bus down the mountain runs until 5:30pm. The bus drivers communicate with each other using intercoms. If they see that there are few people, they may not take people up the mountain in advance. The reason is naturally that you cannot finish the tour. However, if you walk up the mountain from the bottom of the mountain, a total of 13 kilometers, it will take several hours. If you go from the ticket gate of Zhuyu Peak to the top of the peak, it is only 400 meters away, and it is still the road rather than the altitude, so an hour is about the same.



In addition, I would like to disclose that you don't need to take the bus to go up the mountain. However, there are several tunnels on the mountain that have no lights and are crooked, which can easily cause accidents. The two of us drove on our own after being told that there were no cars. No one stopped us or checked our documents along the way.



About 500 meters from the ticket gate, there is a viewing platform before entering Cave 13, which overlooks the entire Xiuwu County and the various scenic spots at the foot of the mountain. It is a great place for cloud-mountain photography. Of course, the sunset, floating clouds and sunset glow are also required here. I missed the time, and the sun had already set, leaving only thin clouds and lights at the foot of the mountain.

Worth a look, exceeded expectations, must recommend

Yuntai Mountain was called "Fufu Mountain" in ancient times because its main peak, Zhuyu Peak, stands alone and beautifully, like a giant pot upside down on the peaks, and is surrounded by clouds and mist all year round. I think it's a very ordinary place. Of course, it was foggy when I went there, so I couldn't see much.

In order to get closer to those famous figures from 1,800 years ago, I finally came to this mountain forest. I saw how the mountains and rivers they favored nourished their souls. Standing on the top of Zhuyu Peak, overlooking the clear breeze and secluded valley, I felt as if I had ascended to heaven.

Zhuyu Peak was once named after this poem by a Tang Dynasty poet, and now Zhuyu Peak is named after the glass plank road on Fenghuangling. Of course, the glass plank road is also the most anticipated stop for me when I go to Zhuyu Peak. However, what impressed me most during the tour was not the glass plank road, but the winding mountain road to Zhuyu Peak and the 19 tunnels on the road, namely the Diecai Cave. It is hard to imagine how the local people opened up this road in such a dangerous environment decades ago.

I got up at 3:00 in the morning, drove more than 10 kilometers, climbed more than 1,600 steps, and climbed to the 1,297-meter Yuntai Mountain Zhuyu Peak, just for the sunrise of Yuntai Mountain. Such a beautiful scenery that is so easy to get, but hard to come by, may be more meaningful to me. Please note that when taking photos of the sunrise, the park was not open. We contacted for a long time before we were able to enter. Ordinary people cannot enter.

On the way to Zhuyu Peak, you will pass through 19 Diecai Caves. The whole journey takes about half an hour. There are two hiking trails in Zhuyu Peak, one leading to the Fenghuangling Glass Plank Road and the other leading to the top of Zhuyu Peak. Due to time constraints, we chose the road to the glass plank road. The glass plank road costs an additional 10 yuan. In fact, after walking on the glass plank road in Zhangjiajie, I felt that the one in Yuntaishan was just so-so, but there were really a lot of people. In addition, two phenomena were discovered on the hiking trail of Zhuyu Peak: one is that I saw many tourists climbing the mountain with their dogs; the other is that many parents let their children urinate and defecate anywhere on the roadside. Although the scenery is beautiful, I also hope that the quality of tourists can be improved.

It takes about 30 minutes to take a scenic bus from the shore service area to Zhuyu Peak. Zhuyu Peak Scenic Area includes two main tour routes, one is the Zhuyu Peak route that goes directly to the highest peak of Yuntai Mountain, and the other is the Fenghuangling Glass Plank Road that was just opened not long ago. If you walk up and down, it takes 3-4 hours to play the two routes. However, due to heavy rain in July, there were many fallen rocks on the mountain, so the Fenghuangling route was closed, which was a little regrettable.

The scenery is nice, but climbing to the top requires some strength

The highest point is the Xuan Emperor Palace. Climbing up and looking far away, you can never experience the feelings of the poet in "Remembering My Brothers in Shandong on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month". Look at others, how passionate they are when climbing mountains.

This place is nice, but it takes a lot of time and it's really tiring to climb the mountain. Fortunately, the scenery is good! The glass plank road is also very unique, but it's too short.

It is right up to the sky, and above it is the top of Yuntai, where you can see all the other mountains from below. It is worth a visit!

Climb up the steep mountain top step by step. The mountains are surrounded by clouds and green. I feel great. I recommend climbing up to get a special sense of accomplishment.

On the last day, we went to Zhuyu Peak. The scenery was really nice. No matter what, it was worth it to climb up and stand on the top of the mountain. I think it is a scenic spot worth visiting besides Hongshi Gorge.

The glass plank road is probably the cheapest in the country and is worth a visit. It still takes 2 days to complete the tour in Yuntaishan.

A good place to climb and enjoy the scenery, it is connected to Phoenix Ridge, and you can feel the smallness of all the mountains when you reach the top.

Looking from a high place, it is just an artificial scenery, not as beautiful as the natural scenery of Hongshi Gorge.

Walking in this colorful forest, even the hair is flying

I went to Yuntai Mountain in 2008. Zhuyu Peak was the last stop. The bus could drive directly to a place not far from the top of the mountain. The road was really dangerous. The bus was not something that ordinary people could drive. We drove around the mountain and went up. As soon as we got off the bus, we felt like we were in the clouds, like a fairyland.

Took a little over an hour to go up and down. Nice view. Even better fitness.

I couldn't climb any further when I reached halfway up the mountain, but my husband continued up so that we could take a picture with the sign at the top.

The scenery will be inferior to summer, but there are fewer people and you can appreciate the scenery better.

Climbing to the top of the mountain gives you a bird's eye view of the mountains. It is a must-see attraction for all bee lovers.

You can take the scenic area bus to the foot of the mountain. The Diecai Cave on the way is thrilling. The steps to climb the mountain are quite steep. It takes more than an hour to climb the mountain normally and about 40 minutes to go down the mountain. It is more tiring to climb the mountain. It is best to climb when the weather is good so that you can see far away and have a better view. If you have enough time, you can go to Fenghuangling. It is said that the scenery there is better. We were short of time, so we didn’t make it, which is a pity.

The most famous attraction is Wang Wei, who once wrote a poem "Remembering My Brothers in Shandong on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month": "As a stranger in a foreign land, I miss my family all the more during festivals. I know from afar that my brothers have climbed to the top of the mountain, but there is one less person wearing dogwood branches." Another attraction is the "Monument to Forever Banning Gambling", a monument erected by people during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty to warn people to stop gambling.

Climbing Zhuyu Peak requires endurance and perseverance.

The scenery down the Zhuyu Peak is also very beautiful, but I really don’t have the energy to take pictures when I get down the mountain. The beauty remains in my heart~

It started drizzling early in the morning, but it did not dampen our enthusiasm at all and we continued to move forward. The service at Yuntaishan was very good and the vehicle connections were in place.

Very beautiful scenery, a paradise on earth, I lingered there and really didn't want to come back. If I hadn't joined a tour group, I would have played there longer!
