Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge

The first highway-railway bridge built on the Yangtze River after the founding of New China, with a total length of about 1,670 meters, is known as the "First Bridge across the Yangtze River".
The bridgeheads on both sides of the bridge were built with the support and help of the Soviet government. The entire bridge is full of Russian style.
The bridge has two layers, the upper layer is a road, the two sides are pedestrian paths, and the lower layer is a railway. It is very convenient to get to famous scenic spots such as the Yellow Crane Tower and the Memorial Hall of the Xinhai Revolution from the bridge.
You can visit the bridge and the attractions near the bridgehead together; you can also walk across the bridge and look at the scenery of the three towns of Wuhan from the bridge deck.

🌈Standing on the bridge, cars 🚗speeding by and the rumbling sound of trains under my feet, I was impressed by this huge project. It is conceivable that people’s lives were inconvenient before because there was no communication between the north and the south. With the construction of the Yangtze River Bridge, the three towns of Wuhan were connected, which greatly promoted the economic and social development of Wuhan.

🌈Nowadays, many bridges have been built on the Yangtze River, making it very convenient for people to cross the Yangtze River. On the bridge, you can see a beautiful red bridge🌉, which is the Yingwuzhou Bridge, which has also greatly alleviated the traffic pressure of the first bridge on the Yangtze River.

🌈Take the elevator from the bridge up and down to the bottom of the bridge to feel the majesty of the bridge. It is said that a 10,000-ton ship can pass under the bridge!

Under the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, especially near the bridgehead on the west side of the bridge, it is very suitable to watch the vast Yangtze River. I accidentally discovered a great place to watch the Yangtze River, the Dayu Mythology Park near the Yangtze River Bridge!

The statue of Dayu riding in a carriage and reviewing the Nine Cauldrons looks more like Dayu reviewing the Yangtze River and past travelers. It is also a giant god guarding the Yangtze River to protect future generations. There is also running water for tourists to use. A frog general stands on the basin, standing straight, more like a loyal guard guarding King Yu, the Nine Cauldrons of China and the drum of remonstration. Although the frog is just a small landscape piece here, it is not a character, but it is better than a character. Give a shout out to its designer!

It was drizzling when I watched the Yangtze River. I was alone here. Except for the occasional roar of a train passing by on the Yangtze River Bridge, which broke the tranquility here, there was only the temporary soothing hum of the Yangtze River and the surging sound of my heart. The drizzle moistened the earth and nourished my heart. The soft drizzle added a little mystery to the myth and a little weight to the history. Looking at the end of the Yangtze River from afar, taking a few deep breaths of the air with the smell of soil and river water, my whole soul became empty and clear. I don’t know what I was thinking at the time. It was just the silence after the surging heart.

Here, I am alone, quietly listening to myths and reading history. At this moment, I feel that the whole world belongs to me alone, and I seem to have traveled through the myths and become a speck of dust in the long history.

In short, the Yangtze River Bridge is a place where one can concentrate and contemplate, or express nostalgia, or marvel at the beauty of the river! No wonder the ancient Yellow Crane Tower was built on the bank of the Yangtze River. It looks so magnificent even from the ground, let alone from a high place. This place is definitely not to be missed!

The first dual-use highway and railway bridge built on the Yangtze River after the founding of New China is about 1,670 meters long and is known as the "First Bridge of the Yangtze River". The bridgeheads on both sides of the bridge were built with the support and help of the Soviet government. The entire bridge is full of Russian style. The bridge adopts a two-layer structure, with the upper layer being a highway, the two sides being sidewalks, and the lower layer being a railway. It is very convenient to get from the bridge to famous attractions such as the Yellow Crane Tower and the Memorial Hall of the Xinhai Revolution. When I went there, it was under maintenance and the elevators at both ends could not be used. I walked up the bridge on the Wuchang side, turned half a circle, and returned the same way. If you can't take the elevator on the other side of the bridge, you have to walk a long way to get off the bridge. It is recommended not to walk to the other side before the elevator is available.

If you come out of the west gate of the Yellow Crane Tower and walk straight ahead without getting off the bridge, you will reach the Yangtze River Bridge. If the weather is good, you can see the Second Yangtze River Bridge and Yingwuzhou Bridge on both sides. If you have time, you can walk along the Yangtze River Bridge. It takes about 20 minutes to walk across the Yangtze River Bridge, feel the river breeze, feel the traffic on the bridge, and see the surrounding scenery. Actually, I was a bit stupid. It was not enough to look at the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge from the Yellow Crane Tower. I had to walk across the road in the middle of winter. Pedestrians can walk on both sides of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. I wanted to find a bicycle to ride, but I scanned the code and got a broken one, so I just walked. Actually, if it is just the bridge deck, it doesn’t feel particularly long. It’s mainly because the two ends of the bridge are relatively long, which makes people a bit frustrated when walking, especially when you walk to the opposite side and can’t find where to get off, so you have to walk a lot more.

When the train was about to arrive in Wuchang, concrete pillars and railings suddenly appeared in Sichuan Foreign Language School, and I knew that we had arrived at the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge! However, the haze made it difficult to see clearly. On the first day, I took a bus across the Yangtze River Bridge and wanted to climb the Qingchuan Pavilion on the other side to see the night view of the Yellow Crane Tower. I followed the route on the map, but unfortunately the elevator on the Yangtze River Bridge was out of service. The Qingchuan Pavilion was right under my feet, so whether I took a car, bike, or walked, I had to go around a long way, so I returned empty-handed! I had to walk back from the bridge on foot, and took a ferry on the third day, which was considered to be an experience of going back and forth on the Yangtze River in various ways.

Wuhan~Yangtze River Bridge. A dual-use bridge for road and rail, a bridge of veterans, Russian style, the first bridge over the Yangtze River…. It’s cold, the air is polluted, the water is turbid, and there are people swimming under the bridge in winter. It’s hard to understand [covering face]. Let’s read the great man’s "Shui Tiao Ge Tou. Swimming": Drink Changsha water, and eat Wuchang fish. Cross the Yangtze River, and look at the vast Chu sky. No matter the wind and waves, it is better than strolling in the garden. Today I have some spare time, and I say on the river: Time flies. The wind blows the masts, the turtles and snakes are still, and a grand plan is set. A bridge flies across the north and south, and the natural moat becomes a thoroughfare. A stone wall is built on the West River to cut off the clouds and rain of Wushan. A flat lake emerges from the high gorge, the goddess should be fine, and the world should be surprised. 

Fortunately I went out, and the sunset did not let me down.

I had originally planned to take a ferry to watch the sunset, but when we got there I found that it was also beautiful to watch it from under the Yangtze River Bridge!

It is so comfortable to sit by the Yangtze River, feel the breeze and watch the sunset.

You can also see the Wuhan TV Tower from a distance.

I asked before coming here and was told that the lights of the Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge would be on at 18:30, and some said that they would be fully lit at 19:00. I waited on the bridge for nearly half an hour, but all I saw were car lights, but I really liked this reflection. It completely disappeared from my sight around 18:50, and the lights on the bridge still did not light up.

There is no bus station on the bridge and I can't get a taxi. I didn't even see any bicycles. I could only walk. I really didn't want to walk down so many steps to get down the bridge...because I could feel my knees protesting just from the one-way steps up the bridge, hahahaha

【Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge】

Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, a cross-river passage connecting Hanyang District and Wuchang District in Wuhan City, is located on the Yangtze River waterway. It is the first dual-use road and rail Yangtze River Bridge built after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is also one of the important historical landmark buildings in Wuhan City and is known as the "First Bridge across the Yangtze River".

The construction of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge started on September 1, 1955 and opened to traffic on October 15, 1957.

The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is 1,670.4 meters long, and the main bridge is 1,155.5 meters long. The upper deck is a two-way four-lane urban main road with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and the lower deck is a double-track railway with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The total investment is RMB 138 million.

Going west along Huanghelou South Road, you will reach the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, another landmark building in Wuhan. It is the "First Bridge over the Yangtze River" where the obverse of the two-cent coin of the third set of RMB was taken. Construction began in September 1955 and opened to traffic in October 1957. This long steel dragon, "a bridge spanning the north and the south, turning the natural barrier into a thoroughfare", has gone through more than 60 years of ups and downs and is still silently fulfilling its historical mission.

By Autumn Shadow |

Come down from the Yellow Crane Tower and walk along the plaque that reads "Rivers and Mountains in Painting". After exiting the gate, you can walk all the way to the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. Built in 1957, this building, known as the "First Bridge across the Yangtze River", is also a landmark attraction in Wuhan.

There is no entrance fee required to visit the bridge. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from one end of the bridge to the other. However, if you want to take the elevator when you get off the bridge, you have to buy an elevator fee of 3 yuan per time. Haha, this is also a good way to make money.

After getting off the bridge, you can go to the pier to take a boat across the Yangtze River, or you can go to Hubu Street nearby to taste delicious food.

Wuhan is an absolute "City of Bridges". Decades ago, for many people, taking photos at the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge was like a holiday. After the bridge was built, the three towns of Wuhan were connected. For me, whether I took the bus to and from the bridge during school, or drove my car and waited for the odd-even traffic at 10 pm, the bridge is the soul of this city!

The first bridge over the Yangtze River is very spectacular. I personally feel that the night view is more gorgeous than the daytime. The lights on the bridge light up at a certain time and change colors. Occasionally, a train whizzes by. I have to sigh at the imagination of the engineers.

The second cross-Yangtze River bridge after the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was built, full of the atmosphere of the Soviet aid era, while the designer insisted on the elements of traditional Chinese architecture. The bridge is not very high. The two-level bridge deck is for road and railway respectively.

The night view of Wuhan is none other than the Yangtze River Bridge. When night falls, the neon lights of the buildings on both sides of the Yangtze River light up. I walked onto the bridge by accident, and I may not be able to find it again if I am given another chance... The scenery on the bridge is the best! On a summer night, the wind blows by the river. The various neon lights on the buildings change, and it will not feel boring at all.

By Can't afford anything |

It is not as shocking as the national propaganda when I was a child. It may be due to the iterative and updated characteristics of technological development. Instead, it seems a bit depressed and dilapidated. I am a little disappointed. Moreover, you can only take the elevator between the bridge and the underside of the bridge. There are 4 floors in total and it costs 2 yuan per person in one direction. The stairs are closed. I don’t understand it. Personally, I think it’s okay not to go if there is no psychological complex. After all, China still has so many achievements that the current generation can be proud of.

By Gui Xiaorui |

The bridge has two layers, the upper layer is the road, the two sides are pedestrian paths, and the lower layer is the railway. The express train I took to Wuhan came from the lower layer.

The total length is about 1,670 meters. I saw many people walking across the bridge. The night view is still very beautiful, and it is very comfortable to blow the cool breeze by the river.

Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is really just a bridge. But in general, it is still very shocking. Standing on the bridge and looking into the distance, you can appreciate many different scenery. It is also very suitable for taking pictures. Standing on the bridge and looking down, the scenery is also very fresh, with endless green, giving people a feeling of comfort. There is a military area next to the bridge. When I went there, I saw many soldiers training, which was very shocking. A few hundred meters away is the Yellow Crane Tower, where "the old friend bid farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower" is a place you have to go to when you go to Wuhan, and experience the mood of the ancients.

Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is located between Sheshan and Hanyang Guishan in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is the first bridge across the Yangtze River and has become one of the landmark buildings in Wuhan. However, there are also many people coming here to check in, especially at night, the scenery on both sides of the river is still good. Although the night view here is still inferior, it is also worth exploring. I think I prefer to appreciate the purity of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge during the day at night.

It is known as the "First Bridge on the Yangtze River". Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge has become a landmark building in Wuhan since its completion. Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is one of the 156 projects of Soviet aid to China. Construction started in September 1955 and officially opened to traffic on October 15, 1957. The total length is about 1,670 meters. The upper level is a highway bridge (National Highway 107) and the lower level is a double-track railway bridge (Beijing-Guangzhou Railway). The bridge has a total of 8 piers and 9 holes, each with a span of 128 meters. The bridge can accommodate 10,000-ton ships. Except for the 7th pier, the other 8 piers use the "large-scale pipe column drilling method", which is a new construction method pioneered by China. Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge connects the three towns of Wuhan and greatly promotes the economic and social development of Wuhan. At the same time, the bridge connected the Beijing-Hankou Railway and the Yue-Hankou Railway, which were separated by the Yangtze River, thus forming a complete Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, which played an important role in promoting the economic development of north and south China.

Being able to walk across the Yangtze River on the Yangtze River Bridge is always a very special thing. The approach bridge from the Yellow Crane Tower is shorter, and the main bridge is not long, but the bridge from Hanyang is more tortuous, going down along Guishan Mountain, with some slopes. The heat dissipated a lot at dusk, and the lights should be more beautiful at night.

By meetu |

The First Bridge over the Yangtze River is 1,670 meters long, with a highway on the upper level and a railway on the lower level. There is an elevator in the bridgehead, but the elevator costs 2 yuan separately, which is quite weird.

The bridge is under renovation, so there is no need to wait for the train to pass. Every time a bus comes, the rumbling and shaking bridge surface makes people worry whether there will be any problems.

As the capital of a province with thousands of lakes, Wuhan is destined to be associated with water.

The Yangtze River runs through the city and the Han River converges here. The urban area is divided into three parts based on geography. The three towns of Wuhan have since been located on both sides of the river, and the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge connects the three towns of Wuhan.

The bridge looks quite impressive from a distance, and it will be even more charming when it is lit up at night.

The bridgehead charges are unreasonable. I am going one way and need to buy a one-way ticket to get on the elevator. I tolerated it. Why do I need to buy a one-way ticket to get off the elevator after I get off the bridge? Did I buy a ticket for Wuhan Bridge or an elevator? I will take the elevator ticket. Don't print Wuhan Bridge. I am going one way and need to buy two one-way tickets. What does it mean?

Recommendation index: three stars. Walking across the Yangtze River Bridge was one of my small goals when I came to Wuhan, so my classmate M and I ran to the Yangtze River Bridge again. As a result, it was windy at night and we were shivering on the bridge without coats. We had no time to pay attention to the scenery. It took us about a quarter of an hour to finish the walk. So it is better to walk during the day. It was a lesson learned from blood and tears (my classmate M and I caught a cold the next day), and we couldn’t get a taxi at the other end of the Yangtze River Bridge, but we didn’t regret walking across the Yangtze River Bridge.

Take a walk along the river beach at dusk, listen to the roaring water of the Yangtze and Han rivers, and feel the strong charm of Wuhan. The road is being repaired at the pier here, so it's a bit messy, and different piers go to different piers, so please watch carefully before buying tickets.

It felt like I was at the Harbin Riverside. Haha, I saw a miniature of Wuhan on the bridge! The bridge was really long. We couldn't find the bus stop and walked a long way. Our legs were broken!

The bridge was illuminated blue by lights, with a car on the top and a train in the middle. A cruise ship passed under the bridge, and tall buildings stood on both sides of the bridge with bright lights, creating a prosperous scene.

The First Bridge over the Yangtze River has turned a natural barrier into a thoroughfare. It is majestic and spectacular. Whether it is a close view or a long view, it still reflects the majestic and domineering power of the First Bridge over the Yangtze River.

It is a very unique bridge that can be seen from the Yellow Crane Tower, or you can take the ferry across the river next to it.

It happened to be evening when I drove to Wuhan. Driving on the famous Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, I felt a heavy sense of history. I visited it again up close during the day and was impressed by its magnificence and grandeur. It was not easy to build such a dual-use road and rail bridge in that era. It is a must-see when you come to Wuhan.

The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is also a landscape of Wuhan. If you go there at night, the bridge is well decorated. If you go there during the day, you can take the elevator to the bridge to enjoy the scenery of the Yangtze River in Wuhan.

Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is located between Sheshan Mountain and Guishan Mountain in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is the first bridge on the Yangtze River and the first dual-use bridge for road and rail built on the Yangtze River after the founding of New China. It is known as the "First Bridge of the Yangtze River". Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge has become a landmark building in Wuhan since its construction. Since it was March or April when I went there, it happened to be a rainy season, so the weather was not very good. This was taken from a distance, and due to the weather, it is not very clear. But I have to mention that Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is a dual-use railway and highway bridge.

It is free to climb the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, and the elevator costs 2 yuan. It is a unique experience to see Wuhan and the Yangtze River from the bridge. The wind is very strong on the bridge.

In the summer, walking on the bridge in the evening, the beautiful scenery in front of you is amazing! You must also walk across the bridge once.

Every time I follow someone home, I have to pass by here. It’s a very long bridge, and the Yangtze River is right under my feet.
