We walked slowly, Huangshizhai needs a day. Yesterday, I just walked down the stairs that I couldn't see the end of, and today I will experience the stairs that I can't see the end of.

There are relatively few flat roads, and most of them are uphill roads. There are not many people hiking, so it is very quiet along the way.

Huangshizhai is also full of adult monkeys. They sit on the handrails. Sometimes they will put the leftover chocolate wrappers from tourists in their mouths and lick the chocolate on them. After seeing this, I feel deeply worried about their health.

You can walk to Huangshizhai or take a cable car. Last time I went to Huangshizhai, I climbed up and was exhausted! This time I chose the cable car without hesitation. The round trip cost 118 yuan, which is really not cheap! There is no need to queue at the cable car station, which means it is really deserted. It takes about 1.5 hours to circle the village for 3.8 kilometers. The main attractions include Zhaixingtai, Wuzhifeng, Tianqiao Yudui, Wuhai Golden Turtle, etc.

The route to Zhangjiajie starts from Huangshizhai. It is said that Zhang Liang, the Marquis of Han Dynasty, lived in seclusion here and suffered, but was rescued by his teacher Huangshigong, hence the name Huangshizhai. Huangshizhai is 1,200 meters above sea level and is the largest and most concentrated viewing platform in Zhangjiajie Forest Park. Huangshi Village is also called Huangshi Village. It is said that Zhang Liang's master Huangshi Gong once went here to make elixirs, hence the name. There was no limitation of the airplane cabin window, no obstruction of the wings, and the view was endless. Suddenly I went into the mist and suddenly I rushed out of the clouds. I saw mountains, and there was no green water or fertile land around them, only a vast sea of white clouds. I knew I saw the fairy mountains and I had come to the fairyland.

We didn't arrive at Wulingyuan Scenic Area until noon that day, and hadn't found accommodation in advance. As soon as we arrived at the gate of the scenic area, there were old men and women who took good care of us. In the end, we were successfully abducted by a warm-hearted old man (in fact, he was an old man who was obsessed with money).



We had lunch at the Grandpa's B&B (very expensive, the price was doubled and there was a detour, they said transportation was inconvenient in the mountains and food was expensive). They drove us to the entrance of the scenic area and said there was only one free way, but we ended up walking along the stairs. I usually don't exercise, but I was exhausted. I climbed for an hour and a half. The scenery was really beautiful. It took us more than 3 hours to walk a full circle. We were in a hurry because it was almost sunset.



We watched the sunset on the mountain, it was so beautiful, but we missed the last bus to the scenic area, so we called the host of the B&B and he suggested that the scenic area bus pick us up. It took us an hour to get down the mountain. It was pitch black in the mountain, so we used the light of our mobile phones to illuminate the way.



The old man accompanied us to wait for the bus for 1 hour at the foot of the mountain. We looked up at the stars⭐, it was a beautiful starry sky I had never seen before, not one by one like the ones seen in the city, but a continuous piece of stars✨✨✨, stars of different brightness✨✨✨, it was really beautiful! During the period, the old man sang mountain songs that I couldn't understand, it was really a very beautiful memory!!!

Huangshizhai is the largest viewing platform in the Wulingyuan quartz sandstone peak forest landform. It is known as "If you don't go to Huangshizhai, you've been to Zhangjiajie in vain." There are many viewing platforms here. The stone pillars and sandstones of various shapes form a beautiful natural landscape. You can see different scenery from each viewing platform, and each has a beautiful name, such as Wuhai Golden Turtle, Monkey Commander, Fairy Presenting Flowers, Feiyun Cave, etc. There are many wild monkeys here. I have never seen so many before. They are relatively docile. Just don't hold food or shiny things to attract their attention, otherwise they will have the courage to snatch them from your hands. Huangshi Village is named after Huangshi Gong, who lived in the Qin and Han Dynasties. Huangshi Gong (about 292 BC-195 BC) was a Taoist priest. He was also known as the Old Man on the Bridge and the Divine Man of Xiapi. He was later included in the pantheon of Taoist gods. The "Historical Records: Biography of Liu Hou" states that he avoided the chaos of the Qin Dynasty and lived in seclusion in Xiapi, Donghai.

At that time, Zhang Liang (about 250-186 BC) changed his name and surname and hid in Xia Pi. While strolling on the bridge over Yishui, he met an old man. Before they greeted each other, Huang Shigong deliberately threw his shoes under the bridge, looked at Zhang Liang and said, "Boy, go down and get your shoes!" Zhang Liang didn't know it was a trick in advance, and was a little surprised and wanted to beat him up.

Seeing that the boy was old, Zhang Liang suppressed his anger, went down the bridge, brought up the shoes, and knelt down to put them on him.

The old man stretched out his foot and asked Zhang Liang to put on his shoe, then left with a smile.

Zhang Liang was very surprised. Huang Shigong walked about a mile away, then came back and said to Zhang Liang: "Young people can be taught! Meet me here in the morning five days later."

Zhang Liang felt even more surprised and knelt down again and said, "Yes."

Five days later, Zhang Liang went to the agreed place in the morning. Huang Shigong said angrily, "You agreed with the old man, why did you come back later?"

Five days later, Zhang Liang went to the meeting before dawn. Huang Shigong was already there and asked angrily, "Why are you late again?"

Five days later, Zhang Liang went there at midnight. After a while, Huang Shigong also came and said happily, "This young man is teachable!"

So he took out a book and gave it to Zhang Liang, saying, "Go back and read it carefully, and you can become the emperor's teacher. Thirteen years later, the yellow stone you see at the foot of Gucheng Mountain in Jibei will be me." Then he left and disappeared.

Zhang Liang opened the book at dawn and found it was actually "Tai Gong's Art of War". Zhang Liang thought it was very magical, so he went around to tell others about his theory, but no one accepted it.

Later, he met Pei Gong in Chenliu, who adopted his advice and eventually established the Han Dynasty.

Looking eastward from the eastern part of Huangshizhai Mountain Tour Path, a peak stands hundreds of meters above the ground in the green valley, with shrubs covering the top like jade. When it is rainy, the valley is covered with clouds and fog like a raging sea. This peak seems to stand above the clouds and fog. This is the famous scenic spot of Huangshizhai, Wuzhi Peak. In addition, there is another peak that looks like a monkey head, called Zhaixingtai, and the fairyland-like Liuqi Pavilion. These naturally formed landscapes have created the magical scenic spot of Huangshizhai.

The highest point of the platform, you can overlook the entire Huangshi Village, but unfortunately it is now closed due to safety issues. You can always see tree sticks inserted in the cracks of the rocks along the way. As a result, I met a tour guide who revealed the secret. There is a local custom that when you encounter such a crack, you like to use a branch to support your back, in order to pray for the health of your parents and elders at home.

The cable car passes through the middle of two peaks, and the scenery is very beautiful. I took the cable car up the mountain and walked down the mountain. I saw many people walking up the mountain were so hot that they were shirtless. I don’t recommend walking. There are many monkeys on the top of the mountain. They basically disdain tourists, but they will change their temperament when they see food, and even snatch it. Be careful when eating, especially if you have children with you. I met a child who was almost attacked by a monkey. Fortunately, his father was there to protect him. At present, Liuqi Pavilion is under construction and cannot be visited, but the beautiful scenery around the top of the mountain is worth the ticket price.

When you see Liuqi Pavilion, you have reached the top of Huangshizhai. ⊙_⊙ A foreigner saw that we were almost unable to climb and said in very cute Chinese, little by little, very enthusiastic. . You will not go wrong in the front mountain and around the village. The forks are all viewing platforms. There are two places in the back mountain that are easy to go wrong. One is the fork in the road at the transfer station. Don’t take the road and continue on the stone road. The other is near the cable car station. Take the road on the left. The road on the right has been closed. We went wrong there in the end.

You must spend an hour on the top of the mountain to walk around and see the scenic spots before going down the mountain. I went there on July 5, 2016. There is no food for sale on the mountain, so you must prepare enough water.

Huangshizhai is a relatively independent scenic spot, located at the ticket station of the forest park. You can see it in half a day. The scenery is mainly peaks. I arrived in Zhangjiajie at noon, so it was just right to spend half a day to visit Huangshizhai. There is a slogan in the scenic area: If you don't go to Huangshizhai, you will come to Zhangjiajie in vain. It seems a bit exaggerated. Compared with the peaks of Tianzi Mountain, Huangshizhai is less diverse.

I went there on a cloudy day so I felt the scenery was quite ordinary, all the same, there was nothing special to see except the monkeys.

We visited Huangshizhai and Jinbianxi on the first day. We took the cable car directly up and climbed down the mountain. The Jinbianxi is at the bottom. It is not recommended to climb up the mountain because it is too physically demanding. We recommend taking the cable car back and forth (to save energy). The view of Huangshizhai from the cable car is very beautiful. Please note that it is best to visit Huangshizhai and Jinbianxi on the same day. Of course, if you have enough time, you can also visit them separately because the two attractions are close and can be arranged together. You can take the cable car directly to Huangshizhai or climb up the mountain by yourself. We recommend taking the cable car back and forth because we went there very late. Huangshizhai is the earliest developed scenic spot, which is closer to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Ticket Station. You can take a battery car from the National Forest Park to the Huangshizhai Cableway Station. Then take the cable car up and down, and those with good physical strength can also climb the stairs.

Huangshizhai in Zhangjiajie is located in Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. The Dinghai Shenzhen in Huangshizhai, Zhangjiajie, is a marvelous work of nature.

Huangshizhai is named after a Taoist named Huangshigong who lived in seclusion here in ancient times. It is the essence of Zhangjiajie tourist area. You can take the cable car to and from Huangshizhai because it is the same road up and down the mountain. The road is boring and you can only see trees. There are many monkeys along the way. Some of them will snatch things. The road is full of steps. After going up, you can just walk around the mountain trail. The scenery is amazing.

This is an early developed tourist attraction, and now many people go here. Therefore, the sparsely populated area is more suitable for sightseeing and taking pictures. It is more like a natural oxygen bar. It is not like the Golden Whip Creek, where every time you want to take a deep breath, you will always smell the strong tobacco smell of others, which really affects your mood for traveling!

It is a very beautiful scenic spot with unique features. You stand in front of it and appreciate it quietly, and there is a kind of beauty that comes from the heart.

Unfortunately, the weather was very bad on the day we went there, so we didn't see any of the scenery that can be seen in Huangshizhai. Even if we took the cable car, there was a white fog around the cable car and we couldn't see anything. But surprisingly, we encountered hail on the mountain, and the amount of hail was quite large, reaching the level of moderate rain, so we were playing and fighting all the way, and we couldn't see the scenery at all. If it weren't for the large number of people, this trip to Huangshizhai would really be a big loss.
