We returned the umbrella to the service area to collect the deposit and reported the situation on the mountain to them. Why did they let tourists go up the mountain in this weather? It's so unsafe. At that time, a male staff member said, "Who is it?" I told you who to contact to sell you the ticket. He probably thought we wanted a refund. His expression was so bad, so infuriating. We came all the way here just to owe this little money. What's wrong? The scenic spot staff is so arrogant. I couldn't get through to their customer service number. I thought I shouldn't waste time and just go back. There's no point in arguing. I was very angry while driving all the way and discussed with my friends to change the route. This is the only way to see Xilinhot again. I remind friends who are planning to come but haven't come yet to think carefully. I have too many unpleasant words to say in my personal experience. In a beautiful environment and without scenery, if you lose humanity and ignore the safety of tourists, it's all a pile of garbage.

We went there during the National Day Golden Week in 2015, by self-driving. We originally planned to go from the Dada Line through the Ashatu Stone Forest Park and then to the Re'a Line, but we were cut off by the damn Ashatu Stone Forest Park. We didn't want to go into the scenic area, and the 140 yuan per person didn't feel worth it. The most important thing was that we heard that cars were not allowed to pass through the Ashatu Stone Forest Park since July 2015, so we could only return along the Dada Line. The 12-kilometer mountain road is mostly uphill, and you can get out within 15 minutes. There is no entrance fee (140 yuan per person). There are large weathered rocks on the roadside.

Although it was mid-to-late June, the temperature was not high. After getting off the bus, it was very windy and cold. There were down jackets for rent at the scenic spot, and I saw several tourists renting and wearing them. Even if you come here in late June, remember to bring a thick coat!

Ashatu means "precipitous rock" in Mongolian, which is a rare geological wonder in the world. The scenic spots are widely distributed, and there are special eco-friendly vehicles to various scenic spots. There are huge rocks everywhere, with different shapes, which are very spectacular. But the wind on the top of the mountain is very strong, so you must wear more clothes, even in summer.

It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Huanggangliang to Ashatu Stone Forest. There are three scenic spots in it. We went to two of them. The weather was not very good and it started to rain. The stone forest here is not as dense and delicate as the Yunnan Stone Forest, but it is more majestic, thick and rough, and more suitable for viewing from a distance.

Over the hill, there is the park's iconic blue and white building. The top of the hill is very empty and windy. Going downhill, you will reach the south gate of the scenic area. You must take the internal shuttle bus to enter the scenic area, which costs 140 yuan per person for adults (including 20 yuan for the shuttle bus) and 90 yuan per person for children. If you do not want to visit but need to pass through the scenic area, you need to open a "mountain crossing permit". Cars can pass through the scenic area, but they are not allowed to stop!

Take the shuttle bus to the scenic spot parking lot. From here you can take buses in different directions to go to different scenic spots. There are three main scenic spots. Scenic spot 1 is the largest and has more attractions.

Many rocks have beautiful names, such as General's Bed, Moon Castle, Seven Fairies, etc. The ferry driver said that the best season here is mid-July, with endless green meadows and wild flowers of all colors. There is nothing to see in October. It snowed on the mountain yesterday and nothing could be seen. If July is a vibrant beauty, then October is a desolate and vicissitudes of life. I prefer the rocks in late autumn, which are full of vicissitudes of life, as if they have crossed tens of millions of years of time and space, and are quietly waiting for us this year. It seems like a longing across time and space. The granite is not bare, and the birch trees set off it, with backgrounds and foregrounds, and different styles.

The scenery here changes with time, and its beauty and charm vary with the seasons.

It was 17:30 when we returned to the South Gate. The sun was setting and the vast grassland was dyed golden red. It was extremely beautiful and extremely freezing!
