Populus euphratica (scientific name: Populus euphratica), also known as Hutong (Han Shu), hero tree, heterophyllous poplar, heterophyllous poplar, water tung, and trifoliate tree. It is a deciduous medium-sized natural tree, a plant of the subgenus Populus of the genus Populus in the family Salicaceae. It is cold-resistant, drought-resistant, salt-alkali-resistant, and wind-resistant, and has strong vitality. It is widely distributed in the temperate and warm-temperate desert areas in western China. In early January 2013, a thousand-year-old king poplar was discovered in the Danish Populus euphratica forest area at the intersection of three rivers in Awati County.

It may also be that I came a little early. The poplar forest is yellow with green, green with yellow, or light green, or light yellow, or dark yellow, staggered and colorful. If I come later, it will be golden.

The wind blew, and ripples appeared in the water, with the reflection of the poplar forest looming. If there was no wind, the golden poplar forest and the quiet river would reflect each other, and I don't know how many people would be intoxicated.

The sea of red willows at Sandaoqiao is not a single tree, but a bush. Each tree forms a bush with messy branches, overlapping and intertwined, growing crowded together in the desert. Their branches are as flexible as ropes and as soft as whips.

The further you go in, the taller and denser the red willow branches grow, and the more they appear in clusters. The colors begin to vary in depth, with light gold, crimson, lavender, orange, brown, and other different colors changing at will, showing the unique charm of the Northwest's flourishing red and green in autumn and winter.

The Hero Forest in Sidaoqiao is another sight. The trunks of the trees are thick and tall, some of which are difficult for several people to hug. They are 15 to 20 feet high, and look like dragons leaping and dancing wildly. In Zhang Yimou's blockbuster "Hero", Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi are fighting in red clothes among the golden poplar trees. The scene is really beautiful.

The more I visit a beautiful place, the more nervous I feel. I want to spend more time to appreciate its beauty and grandeur. But when I set foot on this land, I know that we have too little time to appreciate its beauty.

It was the best time to see the poplars. It felt like all the tourists from China had gathered in this place. It was so crowded. Fortunately, the scenic area was very large. If you didn't take a map and walked by feeling, you would get lost.

In one day, we only walked to the fourth bridge where the in-depth gameplay was located. We didn't have time to walk through several bridges later. If you want to see it properly, it is recommended to spend two days.

The tour guide said that the best time to take photos is from 7 to 9 in the morning, so we decided to get up early. We went to the Populus euphratica forest scenic area early to avoid the peak of population. After all, it is the National Day, and this is when the Populus euphratica is the yellowest. There must be many people who choose to come here to play at this time.

The Populus euphratica forest scenic area is very large, with the First Bridge, the Second Bridge, and all the way to the Eighth Bridge. The First, Second, Third, and Fourth Bridges can be walked, which takes about three to four hours. Among them, the Reflection Forest at the Second Bridge and the Hero Forest at the Fourth Bridge are very beautiful. Then you can take a car directly to the Seventh Bridge and the Eighth Bridge (the Sixth Bridge is temporarily closed) to see the Dream Forest and the Sand Sea Forest. It will take a whole day to walk all of them, so be sure to prepare dry food in advance and keep your strength up.

As we approached Ejina, we began to see scattered poplar trees on the highway, and there was also a special viewing platform. The poplar trees in Ejina are famous, and they would definitely be packed during the National Day holiday. It’s not the season yet, so we just checked in at the entrance. After dinner, we took an aerial photo of the poplar forest scenic area opposite. It is indeed very large, but not spectacular in this season (it was taken against the light).

By Sunlight |

Firstly, it was not the season, and secondly, it was getting dark, so there were only a few tourists in the scenic area. Unlike the short and branchless poplar trees we saw in the depths of the desert, most of the poplar trees here are tall and lush, and they stretch into a forest, which looks quite large. There are many trees that can be hugged by two or three people. I think there should be hundreds of years of history. It can be seen that this is a relatively primitive poplar forest that has been protected. Walking along the plank road in the scenic area, the twisted branches are vigorous, the thick shade covers the sun, and the school is full of vitality. But I always feel that the poplar forest here is missing something. Recalling that in order to resist the wind and frost in the desert, the branches and leaves are almost stripped off, leaving only the short but hard and sturdy body, standing stubbornly in the scorching sun, cold wind, and endless yellow sand. The pampered poplars here are tall and straight, but lack a bit of pride. In comparison, I prefer the unruly and indomitable lives in the desert.

We only walked around a small part of the scenic area in an hour and a half, and it was dark. There were no other tourists and no street lights. The forest was quiet and we would not be able to find the way if we went out later.

The Ejina Populus euphratica forest is so huge that you need a certain amount of physical strength and patience to play with it. Even if you are determined to leave the forest at sunset, you can't see everything. Therefore, it is very necessary to play the essence, avoid peak hours, and save energy. Only by focusing on the key points can you truly feel the beauty of Populus euphratica's life and make the trip worthwhile.

①Suggested route: Ride a camel at the entrance → Erdao Bridge → Qidao Bridge → Badao Bridge → Sidao Bridge → exit the park at sunset.

② It is best to bring your own food in the scenic area. When you are hungry, find a place with nice scenery to eat, watch and chat.

③ Men who like to smoke, don’t try to take the chance of “lighting up one cigarette” in the park, even in the toilet. Those who ban smoking are ghosts, and they will punish them with the “three-light policy” if they are caught: lit cigarettes, lighters for lighting cigarettes, and whole packs of cigarettes that are not lit will all be taken away.

④ Badaoqiao is a desert geological park. If you like desert sunset, you can only walk in a straight line. There are gains and losses, which vary from person to person.

⑤The recommended playing time is 9 to 10 hours.

Ejina Banner Populus euphratica forest scenic area, in October 2017, during the National Day holiday, I traveled more than 2,000 kilometers from Chengdu to see the golden autumn scenery of the Populus euphratica forest, just to see the distant place I longed for. After arriving, I spent a day playing from the first bridge to the eighth bridge. To be precise, I went to the eighth bridge to watch the sunrise first, then returned to the first bridge, and walked from the first to the second and then to the fourth and eighth bridges. The first bridge is the starting point, where I set up a tent to take pictures of the starry sky. The second bridge is the most beautiful in the entire Populus euphratica forest scenic area, with the most Populus euphratica trees and the largest and most luxuriant Populus euphratica forest. There is also a large area of water where you can take pictures of the reflection of Populus euphratica. The world-famous reflection picture of the Populus euphratica forest in the water was taken in the second bridge. The fourth bridge is the hero forest. The Populus euphratica forest here is unyielding and spectacular. The unyielding commitment to life is awe-inspiring. The eighth bridge is the best place to watch the sunrise and sunset. If you have enough time, you can spend more than 3 days here. Only by spending more than 3 days here can you experience the infinite scenery and integrity of the Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner.

Fortunately, there is a poplar forest scenic spot in Ejin Banner. It was still early when we arrived at the entrance of the scenic spot by navigation. The key point is that this season is off-season. There are a few cars parked sparsely at the entrance. I didn't even see a shadow, and it seemed very quiet. After parking the car and going to the bathroom, I went to buy tickets leisurely. The staff at the ticket window also looked exhausted. After buying the tickets, I asked the direction of the ticket gate and drove to the entrance of the scenic spot. When I drove the car to the ticket gate, a strong wind blew up and the sky became dark in a blink of an eye. The ticket checker was very incredible when he saw us. He said that there would be sandstorms and heavy rain soon, and advised you not to go in. The tickets can also be used tomorrow. After thinking about it, the tickets have been bought and cannot be refunded. We have to rush early the next day... When I was struggling, the wind was getting stronger and stronger, and the rain had begun to fall. The tickets in my hand were also blown away by the strong wind. I hurried to chase them, but I only caught one back, and the other one could not be found no matter what. In the storm, there were only two of us at the entrance of the scenic area. The ticket inspector hid in the cabin and closed the door, feeling very frustrated. I ran to knock on the door and discuss with the ticket inspector. He suggested that if we must go in, we should wait in the car until the rain stops. He really didn't dare to let us in in such a stormy weather. We thought it was the only way. I told him about the ticket being blown away. He looked at the remaining ticket and expressed his understanding. He told us not to worry and we could go in as soon as the rain stopped. But then he said that it hadn't rained here for three or four months, and the rain this time would not be too small. We should be mentally prepared... Fortunately, the waiting time was not as long as we imagined. The wind and rain came and went quickly. In less than an hour, the rain began to get smaller. I got off the car and felt it. The wind had stopped and I could basically go out with an umbrella. About half an hour after entering the park, the rain stopped completely. The whole process of rainfall was very similar to the feeling of Wukong calling the wind and rain in the battle of Chechi Kingdom in Journey to the West. It came and went quickly, and the precipitation was sufficient. The clouds and fog dissipated for a while, and the sun came out again. It was 5:30 in the afternoon, and the local sunset was after 8:30, which was more than an hour later than Beijing, so there was still plenty of time for sightseeing. At this time, the benefits of heavy rain weather appeared. There were only two of us and a dog in the park. It was quiet and empty, and the air was moist and fresh. We simply let the dog run and play by himself. Basically, it followed us wherever we went, or ran to the front in advance to wait. The sun was setting in the west, and it was very pleasant to walk in the middle of the poplar forest against the warm sunset.

When we walked into the Ejina Populus euphratica forest tourist area, we saw several women in red posing under each tree. To be honest, the Populus euphratica forest must be visited during the National Day, when the Populus euphratica is in its best years. The tourist area is next to the town. You can ride a camel from the First Bridge to the Second Bridge, or walk along the wooden plank road, but it will be farther. The Second Bridge is a reflection forest, a good place to watch reflections and sunsets. After walking across the Second Bridge, you need to take the scenic bus to the other bridges. The route of the district bus changes every day. The route we took on the day we went was Seven, Eight, Four, and One, and we couldn't return to the Second Bridge to watch the sunset. The Fourth Bridge is where Zhang Yimou's "Hero" was filmed. The Seventh Bridge is a dream forest. There is a large wetland in the area. Populus euphratica grows in the water. The sun shines down, and a thin layer of mist appears on the water, like a dream. This is also my favorite area. Badaoqiao is a corner of the Badain Jaran Desert. Although it is a desert, it has become crowded after being designated as a tourist area, with people standing on every sand dune.

The Populus euphratica forest scenic area is very large, and is divided into the First Bridge, the Second Bridge, and all the way to the Eighth Bridge. You can take the scenic area bus to any scenic spot. Generally, you take the bus to the Eighth Bridge first, and then travel back. We entered from the gate and wanted to tour on foot first. We were afraid of the heat at noon, so we only wore a single piece of clothing and pants. The temperature outside was only 3 degrees. I was so cold that I couldn't open my mouth, and my hands and feet were out of control. The temperature difference between morning and evening was too big, and it was impossible to take care of all four seasons in one day in the Populus euphratica forest. It was freezing cold under the shade of the trees and hot under the sun.

As soon as we entered the scenic area, we saw poplar trees of various shapes. Some of the leaves were yellow, and some were yellow and green. They were particularly beautiful under the sunshine and blue sky! Very shocking! The first bridge and the second and third bridges are basically together. There is a river at the second bridge. The bright yellow poplar trees are reflected in the river, which is reflected by the blue sky. It is very beautiful! At the third and fourth bridges, there is a hero forest, which is the location of the movie "Hero". The scenery there is the best. The fifth bridge is the Mongolian culture display area, with more than a dozen yurts. Some of them are marked as Mongolian style gardens, and most of them are food stalls. I thought it was meaningless and came out. We walked along the wooden plank road in the scenic area from the first bridge to the third bridge, and took a bus from the third bridge to the eighth bridge. The eighth bridge is a landscape area of desert and poplars, and the end of it is the Badain Jaran Desert. From 8 am to 6 pm, we wandered in the poplar forest for ten hours. Beautiful scenery can be seen everywhere, which is dazzling! Truly experience what picturesque scenery is!

By Bajie |

It is famous for the movie "Hero" directed by Zhang Yimou. From the first bridge to the eighth bridge, it includes the poplar forest, red willow forest and Badain Jaran Desert. It was still a little cool when we arrived at the scenic spot near noon, with a strong wind and dust all over the sky. The water surface of the reflection forest of the second bridge was turbid and the reflection was not clear. After noon, the wind gradually stopped, the blue sky, the golden poplars, and the ancient Aobao were probably the most beautiful posture of autumn. The eighth bridge is on the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, and there is a huge Genghis Khan sand sculpture at the entrance.

By Hawaii also has winter |

There are only three places in the world where poplar forests grow in large areas: the Tarim River Basin in remote Xinjiang, South Africa even farther away, and Ejina. Ejina is Mongolian and means: secluded and desert.

Someone once said: If you love someone, take him to see the autumn in Ejina, because it is a paradise of beautiful scenery; if you hate someone, take him to see the spring in Ejina, because it is hell. No one could have imagined that this is the birthplace of sandstorms in my country. Sometimes there is only a step between heaven and hell...

There are eight bridges in the Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area. The most worth visiting are the second bridge, the fourth bridge and the eighth bridge. The first bridge is called Taolai Forest, the second bridge is the reflection forest, the third bridge is the red willow sea, the fourth bridge is the hero forest, the fifth bridge is the Torghut Manor, the sixth bridge is not open for the time being, the seventh bridge is the dream forest, and the eighth bridge is the sand sea forest, which is connected to the Badain Jaran Desert. A scenic highway surrounded by poplar forests in the area runs through the eight bridges.

The full ticket is 240 yuan, and 190 yuan if you don't go to Badao Bridge. We only bought the 190 yuan ticket because we wanted to go to the desert and ride camels.

Compared with the artificial poplar forest in Jinta yesterday, the poplar forest in Ejina is natural, wild, unrestrained, vigorous and vicissitudes of life.

Erdao Bridge reflects the forest, and the Heihe River runs through the forest. We often say: There are three thousand rivers, but we only drink from one. The Ruoshui River refers to the river in front of us, also known as the Heihe River and the Ejina River. This river is called the Ruoshui River because of its turbulent flow and boats cannot cross it.

You can smell the fragrance of leaves by standing on tiptoe, and you can reach the brightest sunshine on the branches by reaching out...

Sidao Bridge is also the location for the filming of the movie "Hero". Leaves are falling and dancing in the wind, and the red clothes are enchanting. Do you still remember this gorgeous scene in the movie "Hero"? People say that it was Zhang Yimou's "Hero" that made Ejina famous, but people don't know that she has already witnessed the prosperity of a thousand years.

If you don't see the poplars, you don't know the grandeur of the scenery; if you don't know the poplars, you don't know the splendor of life. Someone once said: The poplars in Ejina are the most spiritual, and can be described as "brilliant in life" and "fierce in death".

There is a hotel converted from a train in Badaoqiao, which is specially prepared for tourists to watch the sunrise.

The beauty of the Populus euphratica forest only appears once a year, and only for about 20 days. When you are still hesitating whether to go or not, it has quietly withered. If you miss it, another year will pass.

By No limit |

When the golden color comes into view, one can't help but feel excited. People seem to enter the poplar forest with a pilgrimage-like reverence.

The light is slanting, the light and dark are mottled, the reflections are long, and the plank road is winding. Such a beautiful picture is really easy to make people intoxicated.

Best route: Enter the gate of the scenic area (Yidao Bridge) in the morning, visit Erdao Bridge and Sidao Bridge on foot, take the shuttle bus to Qidao Bridge, visit Qidao Bridge, take the shuttle bus to Badao Bridge, do not visit Badao Bridge (Desert Kingdom), and then take the shuttle bus back to Yidao Bridge. Badao Bridge Desert Kingdom is not worth visiting, and the desert landscape is very ordinary. Please prepare dry food for lunch.

By Panda eating buns |

The scenic area is dozens of kilometers long. In essence, the scenic area management company has enclosed a large area of poplar forest in the desert and collected money from the area. The scenic area is so large that it is difficult to walk around the scenic area. Private cars are not allowed to enter during the National Day holiday, so tourists have to pay to take the scenic area bus.

The main scenic spots in the scenic area include the Yidao Bridge, the Erdao Bridge, the Badao Bridge and the Badao Bridge.

A bridge: There is a bridge at the entrance of the scenic area, with sparse poplar forests. You need to walk across the bridge to take the scenic area bus. There is a camel riding project here, which can take tourists to the bus boarding point.

Erdao Bridge: Also known as the Reflection Forest, there are many ponds and a small river here, reflecting the yellow leaves of the Populus euphratica forest and the blue sky, which is very beautiful and suitable for taking pictures. There is a bus stop at Erdao Bridge, where you can take the bus to Sidao Bridge.

Sandaoqiao: It is mainly a red willow forest. Buses do not stop there, so if you are in a hurry, you don’t have to go there.

Sidaoqiao: Also known as Heroes Forest, Zhang Yimou's movie "Hero" was filmed here. The fight scene between Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi, dressed in red, with golden leaves, is very beautiful. This place is also suitable for taking photos, so you can stay longer. There is a bus stop at Sidaoqiao, and you can take the bus to Qidaoqiao and Badaoqiao.

5. Liudao Bridge: The scenery is average, buses do not stop there, so if you are in a hurry, you can avoid it.

Qidao Bridge: There is a large poplar forest here, and there are not many tourists. I didn't go this time, but it's still worth a visit if you are not in a hurry. The bus will drop off passengers at Qidao Bridge, but it only drops off passengers. If you are done visiting Qidao Bridge, you need to walk to Badao Bridge to take the bus back to the gate.

Badaoqiao: This is the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert. You can no longer see the poplar forests. All you can see are desert landscapes, large and small sand dunes and scattered sand lakes. You can watch the desert sunset in the evening. There are many tourist projects here, such as camel riding, sand sliding, and desert off-roading. The prices are relatively expensive, all above 100 yuan. Badaoqiao is the end of the scenic area. There is a bus stop. The bus back to the gate will close at around 7 o'clock.

The No. 1 to No. 7 Bridges and the No. 8 Bridge are relatively independent scenic spots. The ticket office separately indicates the fee for the No. 8 Bridge Desert Scenic Area. You need to check your ticket once when entering the gate of the scenic area. If you go to No. 8 Bridge, you need to check your ticket separately. The full ticket I bought includes three parts: the No. 1 to No. 7 Bridges Poplar Forest Scenic Area Ticket, the No. 8 Bridge Desert Scenic Area Ticket, and the bus ticket. The total cost is 240 yuan, which can be said to be very expensive.

But this is the main scenic spot of the Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner. I came all the way here, and although it’s not cheap, I still have to go in and take a look~~~

By Don’t forget your original intention. |

I got up early in the morning and went to the Populus euphratica scenic area to watch the sunrise after breakfast in front of the apartment. I couldn't catch the sunrise at Erdao Bridge, which was crowded with people, so I went to the highest point, Nuoerjin Aobao, which was quite good. I went from Erdao Bridge to Badao Bridge and then turned back. It was just in time for lunch. Although I often mistake Populus euphratica for Ginkgo biloba in the golden season, I could naturally feel the thousand-year-old style of Populus euphratica when I was deep in the Populus euphratica.

The Populus euphratica forest scenic area is very large, and the plank roads should be connected. If you have the energy and mood, you can walk through it. There are all kinds of guides on the Internet. I think it’s better to follow your feelings in the scenic area. There is no need to follow anyone's footsteps. We didn't come to the Populus euphratica forest specifically for photography, so we chose places with few people and interesting places, took some photos, and walked around. Half a day passed. It is worth seeing Erdao Bridge and Qidao Bridge because there is water in both places. You will find that although Populus euphratica is a desert creature, it is spiritual and very beautiful as long as it is combined with water. Badao Bridge is in the desert, and we are not interested in desert projects, so we left in a hurry. It is beautiful to shuttle among the Populus euphratica on the way from Qidao Bridge to Badao Bridge. If you must talk about your feelings, it is still the same sentence that Populus euphratica is spiritual because of water. Therefore, I think Erdao Bridge and Qidao Bridge can be focused on; if you have spare energy, it is recommended to walk through the park. During travel, watching the sunrise and sunset is always indispensable. Today, I came to see the sunrise in the poplar forest. The sun had not yet risen near a bridge. If a poplar stood there, you would think it was a ginkgo tree. If a group of poplars stood in the water, you would be amazed at how beautiful poplars can be. Our trip was relatively free and casual. When you look around, you can't help but pay attention to the beauty around you.

Early in the morning, I spent 245 yuan on tickets and sightseeing bus tickets to enter the Ejina Poplar Forest, and started from the Yidao Bridge and traveled to the Badao Bridge. The streets were still crowded with tourists as usual, but the Ejina Poplar Forest Scenic Area is large, so the crowds can be dispersed, and it doesn't seem as crowded as the Strange Tree Forest.

You need to be lucky to see the Populus euphratica forest. If you go there early, the leaves will not turn yellow. If you go there late, there will be no leaves. We went there on October 9th, and I think one-third of the leaves turned yellow, which was still early. However, it felt okay.

Although it is only a 4A-level tourist attraction, the scenery is really beautiful. We only arrived on the 21st, but there are still many poplar leaves that have not fallen. The 2 bridges are the most beautiful!

Populus euphratica is the main tree species in the desert and sandy land of Ejina area, mainly distributed on both sides of the Ejina River. There are 440,000 mu of poplar forests, forming a "green corridor" of nearly 1,000 miles. The Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area has been listed as a World Geopark and a National Geopark of China.

“A poplar tree lives for a thousand years and never dies; it stands for a thousand years after it dies; and it remains immortal for a thousand years after it falls.”

Poplar trees live for a thousand years, die for a thousand years, and stay standing for a thousand years. They fall for a thousand years but remain standing. It’s just that it’s a bit far. I hesitated for a long time before deciding to go on National Day, but all the surrounding hotels were booked or very expensive, so I had no choice but to sleep in the car. I bought the ticket and went in at around 4 o’clock the next morning. I took the first bus to Badao Bridge to watch the sunrise. The wind and sand blew all over my hat, hair, and shoes. But it was my first time to see a sunrise in the desert, and the scenery was very nice. After a long wait, I took the bus back to Yida Bridge and started walking inward until I reached Sidao Bridge (I forgot the exact time). The scenery was beautiful. It is said that it would be more beautiful if I came a week later. Unfortunately, there was no holiday at that time and I could only take advantage of the National Day holiday.

Since we were just passing by and the season was a bit early, there were also advantages; we could drive around the scenic area in our own car without entering the scenic spot or buying tickets. In the peak season, this road is closed and you can only take the scenic area shuttle bus to visit, which is not so free.

By Hu Entai |

The Populus euphratica forest is really beautiful, and the most beautiful places are concentrated in the Erdao Bridge in the scenic area and the Sidao Bridge where the movie "Hero" was filmed. Moreover, the best viewing season of the Populus euphratica forest is only about 20 days a year.

By Draw the Sword |

The Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area has now been listed as a World Geopark, a China National Geopark, a China Alxa Desert Geopark, and a China National Forest Park.

Populus euphratica is a natural tree with a straight trunk and peculiar leaves. The bottom part is its young branches, the leaves above are narrow and long like willows, the middle part is when it is middle-aged, the leaves become diamond-shaped, oval, and semicircular, and the top part is when it is old, the leaves become serrated maple leaves. Because of this gradual change of one tree with three leaves, it is also called "variable leaf poplar" and "different leaf poplar".

By Akula Matata |

The internal construction of the Populus euphratica forest scenic area is very complete, and the shuttle bus is also very convenient. The degree of freedom is very high. It is a must-have choice for home travel with dogs and children.

By 🐾Blue Speed👣 |

The Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area is divided into the first bridge to the eighth bridge, of which the second bridge and the fourth bridge are the most beautiful, while the eighth bridge is a poplar landscape integrating the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert and the poplar forest.

Basically, you can play at Erdao Bridge and Sidao Bridge until sunset in the afternoon, which is a good time to go to Badao Bridge Desert to take pictures of the sunset!

The golden leaves of the poplar trees are dazzling under the blue sky! I really can’t get enough of them!

Along with the poplar trees, there are many red willow trees, which add a unique style to the large aperture blurred portraits!

By Viya |

The scenery is beautiful, but there are many tourists. The way the scenic area disperses the flow of people still needs to be improved. Waiting for the shuttle bus is a waste of time. I even encountered a car accident on the shuttle bus and almost missed the train back.

The Populus euphratica forest has its own characteristics in autumn. The scenic area is well managed. In fact, there are only three major attractions. It is too big and really tiring.

By Take your wife on a trip |

The 21 days in autumn every year are its golden period. The high ticket price of 240 yuan per person is also due to this. It is said that tickets are free in the other three seasons. The hotel accommodation price rises from about 200 yuan in the off-season to an average price of 1,500 yuan in the peak season, and the supply is still in short supply. It is conceivable that the 21 days are precious. Photography enthusiasts conclude that the best time to view the Ejina Populus euphratica forest is around October 10-15.

In the scenic area, you can walk from the first bridge to the eighth bridge, stop and go, and feel the wonderful beauty of the filming location of Zhang Yimou's Hero. Touch each tree that has gone through thousands of years. The most beautiful thing about the poplar is not its leaves, but the peculiar shape of its trunk.

By Ah Lili |

For the Ejina Populus euphratica forest tour, you can usually go to the First Bridge, the Second Bridge, the Fourth Bridge, the Seventh Bridge and the Eighth Bridge. The Second Bridge, the Fourth Bridge and the Seventh Bridge are the essence. You can walk and take a tour bus. The tour bus fee is included in the ticket (ticket price is 240 yuan/person). The wooden plank road has been repaired in the scenic area. It is no problem to follow the signs. The Eighth Bridge is a place without Populus euphratica forest. It is the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert and a place to play in the desert. Finally, return to the exit of the scenic area from the Eighth Bridge. The Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area is just beside Dazhen. It feels that those who travel by car during the National Day do not need to drive here at all. It is really troublesome to find a parking space. It is better to take a taxi.

By The fish that forgot to swim |

I ran to the poplar forest excitedly early in the morning. Because there were not many people, I could calmly stroll in the dense poplar forest, breathing the fresh air, stepping on the golden fallen leaves, as if entering a mythical fairyland. The dense poplars on the First Bridge and the Second Bridge are all strange and varied, with various expressions, some upright, some like a soaring dragon, which is surprising and breathtaking. There are so many bridges, which one is the most beautiful? In fact, they are all beautiful.

Of course, although poplar trees are beautiful, to take innovative pictures you still have to look for angles carefully, and you also have to make good use of or avoid the sunlight. A good photo requires light and shadow, composition, and creativity.

I booked it online for 240 yuan per ticket, which included the 8 bridges and the shuttle bus fee. You need to choose the date when buying it. It is an electronic ticket. You need to go to the self-service ticket machine to exchange it for a paper ticket at the entrance of the scenic spot. The entry date must be the same to enter the park. It is not recommended to buy tickets directly at the entrance of the scenic spot during the National Day holiday. There will be a long queue, and there is basically no one at the self-service ticket machine.

You can also purchase a three-day ticket

The Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area is divided into 8 areas, from the first bridge to the eighth bridge. The first bridge is located in front of the gate, the second bridge is called the reflection forest, which is the essence of the scenic area, the third bridge is called the red willow sea, the fourth bridge is called the hero forest, the fifth bridge is the poplar homestay style garden, which is a place to buy food, the sixth bridge is not open, the seventh bridge is called the dream forest and is also one of the essences, and the eighth bridge is the northern edge of the Badain Jaran Desert. Among them, the second and seventh bridges have the most beautiful water, and the fourth bridge is the location for the filming of the hero movie. These three places are worth visiting.

Because we didn't find a very detailed travel guide before, we just visited the area in the order of Erdao Bridge --- Sandao Bridge --- Sidao Bridge --- Qidao Bridge --- Badao Bridge --- Erdao Bridge. However, after the tour, we concluded that it would be more scientific to follow this order.

Suggested tour order: Erdao Bridge --- Qidao Bridge --- Badao Bridge --- Sidao Bridge --- Sandao Bridge --- Erdao Bridge. In the morning, after taking pictures of the reflections at Erdao Bridge, take the shuttle bus directly to Qidao Bridge. At this time, there should be few people at 7dao Bridge, so you can take as many pictures as you want, and then go back to Sidao Bridge to see the forest on land. According to our previous order, we arrived at 7dao Bridge at noon. There were a lot of people, and the 7dao Bridge was all water, so we could only walk on the plank road, which was very crowded.

Of course, the most important thing is that I finally found the official WeChat account. Scan the QR code at the door to check your ticket. Remember not to throw away your ticket, because you will have to check your ticket again at the 7th and 8th Bridges.

There are one to eight bridges in the Populus euphratica forest, which are arranged in a long snake formation along the national highway. The bridges are used as boundaries and are connected by bridges. Each has an entrance, but there is no obvious boundary distinction. In addition to the sequential names from one to eight, each bridge has another nickname. For example, the second bridge has a very beautiful reflection, so it is called the Reflection Forest. The fourth bridge is the filming location of "Hero", also called the Hero Forest. The third bridge is called the Red Willow Beach. The first bridge is usually where tourists enter the park. The second bridge. It is a good place to take pictures of the sunrise. And the scenery in the early morning and evening is completely different. The third bridge is a large area of red willows. To be honest, there is nothing to see. But you have to pass through it to go to the fourth bridge. And it is not short. I walked twice in total, and I was a little annoyed. The fifth bridge is the home of several herdsmen. You can eat and rest there, but there is nothing to see. The sixth bridge is not open, and tourists can't see what it looks like inside. The trees in the seventh bridge should have been artificially planted after it became a national reserve, and the trees are small. But being small also has its advantages. It is straight and delicate, and turns yellow early and thoroughly.

The total length of the plank road in the scenic area is about 17 kilometers. According to my friend's pedometer, I walked about 40 kilometers on that day with a load (camera equipment and dry food). Not everyone has enough physical strength to walk the entire distance. Therefore, on the outer edge of each bridge, which is the national highway, there will be shuttle buses to pick up tourists, but the prerequisite is that you can find this connection point.

Traditional travel agencies usually arrange six hours here. That is, after watching the sunrise at the Yidao Bridge, you can walk to the Sidao Bridge and then take a shuttle bus to the Badao Bridge to see the sand sculptures. Or you don't even visit the Badao Bridge and leave directly after the Sidao Bridge. In the words of a friend, you can only take a quick look and can't get off the horse, otherwise it will be too late to get off the horse. But six hours is almost enough, and at most one day is enough. If you are not a professional photographer with high requirements for pictures, usually no one will arrange two days. There are two reasons for this: one is that it is really tiring, and walking for two days is not something that ordinary people can withstand; the other is aesthetic fatigue. The world is full of yellow leaves. It is exciting at first, but you get tired after looking at it.

In a word, if you want to see the best poplars, you have to use your strength. Patients with public health problems will never see it. The red-dressed lady with flying skirts and long hair in the air can be seen by the camera, but behind the camera you can't see are blisters. My goodness, after a day of walking, the socialite will become an auntie, the auntie will become an old auntie, and so on, without exception.

The sun is shining brightly, the trees are full of warmth, the sun is hanging on every branch, every leaf is shining, burning golden color unscrupulously, stunning this desolate land. Here, whether you are wearing plain clothes or heavy makeup, or a white dress or a red dress, you will meet the most beautiful self in the most beautiful years!

The Populus euphratica forest scenic area is very large and can be visited in one day, but if you like photography and desert sports, two days will be more sufficient.

The best viewing season for the Populus euphratica forest is from late September to early October, but the time when the leaves turn yellow is different every year. For example, this year the Populus euphratica forest turned yellow about a week earlier than last year. When we entered the main scenic area of the Populus euphratica forest on October 9, 1/3 of the Populus euphratica leaves had already fallen. So if you want to go to Ejina to see the Populus euphratica forest, it is best to confirm the best viewing time in advance before departure.

The scenic area is very large, and lunch basically needs to be solved in the scenic area, so you need to prepare some dry food and water. There are also some service points in the scenic area where you can buy instant noodles and self-heating rice, and the price is not too high.

You can drive into the scenic area in the off-season, but during the 20 days of the peak season, the scenic area will set up checkpoints at the east and west entrances to prohibit all social vehicles from entering. Of course, if you are staying in a farmhouse in the scenic area, you can enter with a reservation, but your vehicle cannot stop and take photos on Provincial Highway 312 at will. Violators will be deducted 3 points and fined 200. So even if we drove into the scenic area, we could only park in the parking lot next to the Erdaoqiao section station and transfer to the shuttle bus.

hint:

1. Because of its reputation, the ticket price of 240 is a bit expensive (of course, this is a natural river channel poplar forest, there are only three in the world, and this poplar forest is an important barrier to prevent the Badain Jaran Desert from spreading northward, so it can be regarded as a contribution to the expansion of the poplar forest)

2. The scenic area is very large. There are 8 bridges in total. Bridges 1, 2, 4, 7, and 8 have the best views. Bridge 4 is the filming location of the movie "Hero".

3. You can first go to 1 and 2, take the bus to 7, walk to 8, and then take the bus back to 4, which will save a lot of time.

4. If you don’t have any special obsession, I don’t think it’s necessary to come to Ejina Populus euphratica after having been to Ruoshui Populus euphratica. However, the Ejina Populus euphratica forest is denser, the scenery is more varied, and the cultural significance is greater.

As soon as I entered the scenic area, I saw a crowd of ladies in red, some standing, some lying, some dancing with the wind, and some covering their faces shyly to take pictures. The beautiful scenery was turned into a background wall for taking pictures, which destroyed the leisurely mood of appreciating the beautiful scenery.

In addition to the uncivilized behavior, the large number of people, the imperfect service facilities of the scenic area and the slightly high ticket price, this tour did not meet my expectations. Before we went, I met a fellow Wuhan native who told us that the poplar forest outside the scenic area was more beautiful, but I thought it would be a pity not to see it after traveling more than 2,000 kilometers, so I resolutely bought a ticket to visit. It turned out that finding a local car to drive around the periphery of the scenic area, the wild poplar forest outside the scenic area was more beautiful, and there were no crowds of people, so I could feel, visit and take pictures to my heart's content.

The train departed from Hohhot in the night, heading west on the majestic Gobi Desert. 12 hours later, we arrived at Ejin Banner. When we went there, the poplar forest had not yet turned yellow, but compared to the bustling sea of people, I prefer the solitary forest. Sitting in a small antelope whose head could touch the roof of the car, we pursued the golden color in the green, the unruly strange forest, the Black Water City of Western Xia, the sunrise of the Juyan Lake, and the sweet Jiashi melon. There are many places that you will feel desolate before going there, but when you are there, if the fatigue of a day's journey can be transformed into mutton and beer from the locals, you will feel comfortable again. This is probably the G-spot of travel, Ejina, my G-spot.

By Snow Ridge |

Personally, I think the most beautiful parts of Ejina are the Second Bridge and the Fourth Bridge, and you don’t need to visit the others.

By Knickers |

The best season for the poplar forest is autumn, around National Day, when the golden leaves and the endless desert complement each other. However, the season we came was not the best, and the leaves of the poplar forest were still green.

There will be sandstorms in Ejin Banner for two out of every three days, so it is recommended to be prepared for sandstorms when you go there. Although the sandstorms affected our vision, the poplar forests in the sandstorms were looming and had a different kind of beauty (it was hell for taking photos, but for me who had never experienced sandstorms, it was also a different experience and scenery).

By The stupid Ah Dai Dai |

There are eight bridges to view the Populus euphratica forest here, of which the second and fourth bridges are the most beautiful. The ticket price for bridges 1-8 is 250 yuan/person, and the ticket price for bridges 1-7 is 190 yuan/person (including transportation). The Populus euphratica forest here is generally the best from 10.10 to 10.15, and the leaves are all yellow and particularly beautiful. But unfortunately, the cold air came early this year... When we went there on 10.11, half of the leaves had fallen... This is in sharp contrast to the Jinta Populus euphratica forest we visited. So I would like to remind friends who want to come here to see the Populus euphratica forest to pay attention to the weather... If you want to see the Populus euphratica forest that is all yellow, you have to try your luck in addition to combining daily rules.

By Yanggujun |

Autumn colors are picky about time, and Ejin Banner can give you the longest viewing period. Some are in the green season, while others end their season early.

It takes about ten minutes to walk from the town to Ejin Banner. When you enter the scenic area, you will be surrounded by the scenic area vehicles and you will not know what the world is. Walk along the plank road.

From one end to the other, we passed the first and second bridges in Ejina Banner. The poplar trees were beginning to shed their leaves slowly, but the water color still reflected the different colors of the poplar trees.

By Hele Huizhi |

The Populus euphratica forest scenic area refers to the Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner. To see the Populus euphratica forest in Ejina, you usually spend a day at the No. 1 to No. 8 bridges, and you have to bring your own lunch. The ticket is only valid for one day, and the pass for the interval must be checked a second time, and there is no way back. The location of the banner is called Dabulai Town, and the scenic area is not far from the town. There is no restaurant in the scenic area. For meals, the shuttle bus will ferry you to the town, and then go to the scenic area after dinner.

By evening |

There are three thousand dreams in this life, and I have spent thousands of miles in poetry and wine.

If the beauty of Jinta Populus euphratica forest is delicate and relatively subtle, then the beauty of Ejina Populus euphratica forest is rough and directly hits your heart. When taking photos here, you must remember to wear a red skirt. The collision of colors can make a blockbuster photo, and each photo can be a wallpaper.

The guide mainly talks about Erdao Bridge, Sidao Bridge and Badao Bridge, which takes about three hours to visit. We went to Juyan Lake early in the morning, and then arrived at Populus euphratica forest at about 10 o'clock, and then left at almost 5 o'clock. It's a pity that we didn't play in the Badain Jaran Desert at Badao Bridge. We just looked at the sand dunes from a distance, and then were called out by our friends, leaving some regrets. Personally, I think Erdao Bridge is the most beautiful, the golden color is the most thorough, and the trees with strange shapes are the most special.

I suggest you buy a one-day ticket, which costs 240. If you buy a three-day ticket, you may get tired of it. Play at Badao Bridge until the sun sets and watch a desert sunrise.

Remember to wear sunscreen 😊

By Archangel |

It was windy that day, so I didn't get to take a photo of the reflection of the poplars, which was a pity. You can just scan the QR code to get your ticket by yourself, which is very convenient. Having seen the desert and the weak water poplar forest, I was not as excited as other tourists.

Some parts of the bridge are bright yellow. There are many poplar trees, and their trunks are thicker.

Walking to Erdao Bridge, the poplar trees are beautiful and unrestrained, but the wind has blown away the reflection of the poplar trees on the water. No reflection, no reflection, no reflection

I ignored the red willows at Sandao Bridge and headed straight for Sidao Bridge - Hero Forest. It became famous because of the movie "Hero". Sidao Bridge is the last to turn yellow, and the trunks are the thickest. As soon as I entered the door, there was a little donkey standing in front of the name sign. The little T-step stood firmly, I wonder what it was thinking? This duty manager is really competent

Qidao Bridge is the first to turn yellow, and this time is perfect. There are more tourists staying here, so it is not easy to take a picture without other people around.

Badaoqiao is a corner of the Badain Jaran Desert. There are many recreational projects, all of which require additional payment, and the price is not cheap. If you play each one, it will cost at least 700 yuan. What I don't understand is why you have to buy a separate ticket to visit the sand sculptures for a 50 yuan ticket here, of course I refused. I spent 130 yuan riding a camel for 20 minutes. It's a pity that the guy who led the camel didn't understand Chinese very well, and his photography was too bad. I still took photos with one hand from time to time, but I was worried about safety and didn't take good photos. Because of taking photos of the desert camel team, I may have become the scenery in other people's lenses.

This is the largest desert I have ever seen. There is no horror like in the heart of the desert, but more joy.

I wanted to see the sunset in the desert, but later I heard that the last bus back to the scenic area was at 7 o'clock, and there were no taxis outside (no taxis allowed in). The sunset was at 7 o'clock... It was too inhumane. The last bus at 7:30 was also fine! The sun was very strong today, and it was also very cloudy, so there must be a very beautiful sunset.

By Qianqian |

The golden poplar forest will be very beautiful under the sunlight. It is recommended that you do not set out too early. The light is not strong enough before 10 o'clock, and the photos taken will not be ideal. Therefore, there is no need to arrive at the scenic spot too early.

The full ticket price for the Populus euphratica forest scenic area is 200 yuan, and people aged 65 to 70 years old can enjoy half price. It is recommended to purchase the tourist bus ticket in the scenic area at the same time, which is 40 yuan per person. In addition to the self-service ticket machines in the ticket hall where you can scan the code to buy tickets, there are also many manual ticket windows. According to my observation, it seems that only the No. 1 manual window supports Alipay and WeChat payment, and other windows only accept cash payment.

Although the scenic area is large, there are more tourists, so it is almost impossible to take photos of empty check-in spots. However, since you are here, there are still several good interval attractions worth visiting: Erdao Bridge, Sidao Bridge, Qidao Bridge, and Badao Bridge. There are interval buses from Erdao Bridge to Sidao Bridge, Sidao Bridge to Qidao Bridge, Badao Bridge, and Badao Bridge to Yidao Bridge.

Among them, after getting off the bus at Sidao Bridge, before entering the section scenic area, we looked back and found that the Populus euphratica road ahead was very beautiful. But there is no slow lane and sidewalk, and almost all vehicles flash by like lightning, without slowing down at all. If you want to take pictures of the poplar trees on this road, you must walk close to the roadside and walk to the sand on the side of the road when necessary. You can't stand in the middle of the road or cross the road suddenly, which is very dangerous. We walked to the entrance of the resort and turned back, otherwise we couldn't enter the Sidao Bridge scenic area.

There are entertainment projects such as sand sculptures and off-road vehicle sand rushing in the Badaoqiao scenic area. If you are not interested, you can take the shuttle bus from Qidaoqiao to the Yidaoqiao exit.

Let me talk about the snacks in the scenic area. The further you go, the cheaper they are. The same lamb skewers are sold for 20 yuan each at Erdao Bridge, 15 yuan at Sidao Bridge, and only 10 yuan at Badao Bridge.

By Idle Cloud |

The scenery of the Populus euphratica forest is most beautiful in mid-October, when most of the leaves turn yellow. The blue sky, yellow leaves, green water and yellow sand complement each other, creating a magnificent scenery!

Live for three thousand years without dying, die for three thousand years without falling, fall for three thousand years without dying

By Sun Yanqing |

Get up at 4:30 in the morning and set off for the Populus euphratica forest scenic area to see the most beautiful sunrise of Populus euphratica. There are five scenic spots. If you want to go to the desert to take pictures of the sunrise, enter the scenic area and take a bus directly to Badao Bridge on the left hand, and then return to Yida Bridge to continue to play in order. Special reminder: No matter which scenic spot you are in, if you want to return to the entrance of the scenic area, you must first go to Badao Bridge to take the return bus. I went to Badao Bridge to watch the sunrise in the desert. It took about 25 minutes to reach Badao Bridge. Climb up the highest sand hill with few people in the dark and wait for the beautiful sunrise. Be sure to wear more clothes. I almost froze to death on the sand hill before I saw the sunrise. Slowly, the east was red, and the red disappeared at about 7:20. The soft golden light spread to the desert and oasis. The endless yellow (sand); the quietly flowing Juyan River - outlines a beautiful picture. We came to the highest point in the depths of the desert and stopped to take pictures. The scenery in front of me stunned me. The master told me that the desert oasis is basically drying up now that the water level has dropped. The water is artificially pumped from the Heihe River to nourish this land. Turn back to Yidao Bridge and walk to Erdao Bridge to see the most beautiful poplars and experience their spirit. You will never get tired of the beautiful scenery along the way. Erdao Bridge and Sidao Bridge are the best places to take pictures of the reflections of poplars. Sidao Bridge is also known as the Hero Forest. It was famous for the duel between Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi in the woods in Zhang Yimou's "Hero". Now it attracts countless tourists. Stroll among the immortal poplars, and feel that they live for a thousand years without dying, die for a thousand years without falling, and fall for a thousand years without decaying. This is the closest place to heaven and hell! There is also a witness to the raging sandstorms and the couple tree that has been hand in hand for three thousand years~

There are eight bridges in the whole scenic area, each with its own focus and characteristics, covering a total of more than 30 kilometers. If you appreciate it carefully, it will take a whole day. Walking through it, you will see golden colors everywhere, and every shot you take is a blockbuster. In fact, I have always had a faint affection for the Populus euphratica forest. Perhaps it is this golden color that makes people yearn for it. The reason why I am willing to travel during the peak of National Day is for this rare golden color every year (the best viewing time for the Populus euphratica forest is from September 20th to October 15th every year). Now I am in this more magnificent golden color, and I feel it is wonderful. Reach out and touch the trunk of the Populus euphratica. The mottled traces seem to tell you that it has lived for hundreds or even thousands of years, which makes you feel awed. It is said that there are eight bridges, but in fact there are no three bridges, five bridges and six bridges. After walking through the four bridges, you need to take a car to the seven or eight bridges. The seven bridges are mainly poplars growing in the water, which has a unique flavor. Badaoqiao is rumored to be the edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, but don't worry about whether it is actually there. However, if you have already been to the Badain Jaran Desert, why go to Badaoqiao?

We walked from the First Bridge to the Second Bridge (you have to walk the First and Second Bridges by yourself), and at the Second Bridge you can take a bus to the Fourth Bridge, the Fifth Bridge, the Seventh Bridge, and the Eighth Bridge. Please note that you can take a bus back to the entrance of the scenic area from the Second Bridge, the Fourth Bridge, and the Eighth Bridge, but you cannot take a bus directly back to the gate from other places because the space for the bus is not big enough!

During the National Day holiday in 2013, the team activity connecting Gansu and Inner Mongolia took place. The Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner was the most important itinerary. It is a miracle of life in the desert, and its tenacious vitality is admirable. It is really not easy to preserve such a large forest.

A day of traveling in the beautiful Ejina: Walk from the gate to Erdao Bridge to enjoy the best poplar forest. The poplar forest at Erdao Bridge is yellow and has different postures; the reflection forest is more interesting. Then take a car to Sidao Bridge to enjoy the Hero Forest. The leaves of the poplars here are only half yellow. The yellow and green interlaced, plus the thick trunks here, also have a unique flavor. Take a car to Qidao Bridge. The poplars here are small and cute, and the leaves are more pure than those at Erdao Bridge, but the poplars are young and the trunks are small and not high. When I first got there, it seemed like I had just pumped water into the forest. The water surface was full of fallen yellow leaves, the water surface was turbid and not transparent, and the reflections were not in shape. Finally, I took a car to Badao Bridge, which is actually a separate desert kingdom. The separate 50 yuan ticket was forced to be added when buying tickets at the gate of the scenic area. This landscape is the northernmost edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, with several sand dunes. The characteristics of the desert - camels and off-road vehicles are indispensable!

If you take the Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway from Dunhuang to Ejin Banner, you must fill up the gas in advance. The gas stations on G7 are closed. We ran out of gas on the road and had to call for help. It was 650 km. It was still dark. The scenery was pretty good. Be sure to pay attention!

There are many camels in the scenic area. There is a desert poplar forest by the Ruoshui River with few people and beautiful scenery. Don't just walk on the plank road, walk into the woods, and you can find all kinds of strange tree shapes. At dusk on Erdao Bridge, most tourists left, and we booked the place. Desert-poplar-I like this artistic conception. Red and white dresses make the scenery more beautiful. The strange forest is very suitable for taking sunset photos, the light and silhouette are beautiful. The couple must come to take a photo at the couple tree. The reflection of the Jinta Poplar Forest completely shocked us. Enter from Gate 1, cross the bridge to the Poplar Forest opposite the entrance. This area of tourists will come to see the sunset at night, so it is an uninhabited area in the morning. The desert blends with the Ruoshui River, and the tree shape is unique. Many portraits were taken. Walk about 2 kilometers along the Ruoshui River, there is a most beautiful desert poplar forest. Don't walk along the dirt road by the river, but walk towards the plank road. This poplar is more concentrated, with a unique shape in the desert, and it is extraordinary. The important thing is that there are very few people, and the feeling is quite good. After watching the sunrise at Badao Bridge, you can go to Sidao Bridge to see the Heroes Forest, or go back to Yidao Bridge. It is recommended to go to Sidao Bridge first as Sidao Bridge has fewer people than Erdao Bridge.

The scenic area is very large and you need to spend a whole day in it. You can buy some dry food and self-heating rice at the convenience store at the entrance. There are also sports water bottles. You can still get water at the visitor center. Buying water is not expensive, after all, it is an inland area.

The ticket is 240 yuan, but it is definitely worth it. Besides, we are here to contribute to protecting the soil and water of our motherland and preventing sand and afforestation!

In addition to tickets, you can also get hand-drawn map booklets at the tourist service center.

According to the 11-hour tour schedule from 8 am to 7 pm, you can completely walk through the entire scenic area. The prerequisite is to have the endurance of a camel!

Like Jinta, this is another long and narrow park built along the Populus euphratica forest. But don’t be fooled by the hand-drawn map. It’s about 50 kilometers from Yidaqiao to Badaoqiao. You can sleep on the shuttle bus, but it’s impossible to walk across.

Inside the scenic spot, the average number of steps is 35,000, which is about 21 kilometers, so be mentally prepared!

Tips: A pair of good outdoor shoes is very important, which can effectively protect the feet. In this desert area, you still cannot be afraid of the heat and must wear high-top desert shoes to prevent sand and stones from entering the shoes.

The Heihe River, China's second largest inland river, begins with the melting water from the Qilian Mountains and flows northward to the Juyan Lake. By the time it reaches Ejina, the river is already very large.

A series of bridges were built along the river, marking them as bridges 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 according to their distance from the city (from upstream to downstream).

Actually, the Sandao Bridge and Wudao Bridge are actually highway bridges, and you can pass through them by taking the shuttle bus. So the attractions are the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th Bridges.

Among them, the poplar forests at Erdaoqiao, Sidaoqiao and Qidaoqiao are the most beautiful and are the most important. Due to the narrow and long terrain, the maturity of the leaves in each place is different. Erdaoqiao still has some green leaves, while Qidaoqiao is already golden in autumn.

The best time for photography is early morning and dusk, when the shadows of trees are slanting and the light and shadows are changing in various colors. Therefore, it is best to arrange the early morning and dusk time in these scenic spots, each with its own characteristics, depending on personal choice.

The poplar trees we saw along the way include: lake poplar, desert poplar, Gobi poplar, riverbank poplar, flooded poplar, Gobi dead tree, and desert dead tree. These are different combinations, so every place has a different style.

No pictures, photos or video clips can express the shocking scene at that time. So if you are still alive, please come to Ejina in the golden autumn season, which will definitely leave you with unforgettable and beautiful memories for the rest of your life.

The most impressive thing about this trip to Ejin Banner is that the tickets are quite expensive. The scenic area is very large and you can spend 3 or 4 hours there. The best time to visit is in October. The golden poplar forest is really beautiful.

The driver of the tourist bus was even better. He said the scenery of the 1st and 2nd bridges was not very good, so he sent us directly to the 7th bridge, so that we could avoid the crowds and play in the opposite way - from the 7th bridge to the 8th bridge, and then to the 4th bridge. After playing at the 4th bridge, we returned to the fork in the road by ourselves, because our homestay Donggui Holy Land was near the 4th bridge - this was exactly what we wanted! ! ! ! The whole bus was boiling and excited, and the uncle with glasses whistled! ! !

After taking enough photos at Badao Bridge, we had lunch and arrived at Sidao Bridge in the afternoon. We wore Mongolian costumes and took photos. Then we started jumping around, taking photos and sitting for the whole afternoon. On the way back, the private car driver said, "Chengdu is such a great place. Happy Valley, Mount Emei, Jiuzhaigou, Daocheng Yading. Why don't you go anywhere else? Why don't you come here to play?" We said, "But there are no poplar forests in Sichuan." People always go from places they are bored to places others are bored.

There is a beautiful slogan in the Populus euphratica forest of Ejina Banner: Three thousand years of watching, just for your arrival~

The golden scenery stretches for thousands of miles, forming a unique scene that reflects the vicissitudes of life.

In fact, there are Populus euphratica forests in many places. Any tourist attraction loses its original flavor once it is commercialized. I don’t know if the Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner is too famous, but it was so crowded with people that when I first entered, I didn’t know where to start.

Personally, I feel that it is not worth driving 800 kilometers to come here to check in.

The most worthwhile places to visit are Erdao Bridge, Sidao Bridge and Badao Bridge. Erdao Bridge has a lake where you can take photos of reflections. Sidao Bridge is the filming location of "Hero" and has dense and tall poplar forests. Badao Bridge is the northern edge of the Badain Jaran Desert, where you can take photos of winding sand dunes and camel shadows. There are two gates in the poplar forest. The west gate is a comprehensive service center, close to the landscape bridge, and it is recommended to enter from the west gate. Arrange your visit time reasonably, the landscape bus needs to queue up, and be careful to conserve your energy.

If you want to watch the sunrise in the Populus euphratica forest, you can do so. You must arrive near Erdao Bridge on Provincial Highway 312 in the scenic area before 6 a.m. and park your car near the bridge. Don't park on the road! Otherwise, the traffic police will come right away.

If you don't go to Badao Bridge to play in the sand and ride a camel, you don't need to buy the ticket for Badao Bridge at the same time. Because Badao Bridge is an artificial desert. The ticket does not include entertainment equipment. Riding a camel and experiencing sand off-roading requires an additional 198, which is a scalper price. The route I recommend for the Populus euphratica forest scenic area is to enter from the first bridge and take a camel to the second bridge, which costs 50 per person. Then walk from the second bridge to the fourth bridge and take a shuttle bus to the seventh bridge. If you don't want to play in the desert, you can go directly from the seventh bridge to the first bridge. The tour time is about 3-5 hours.

The area is very large, there are few guide maps, and most people can't find the route. The scenery is particularly beautiful. We walked around a few times and didn't go to the gate of the scenic area, but we already appreciated the great beauty. Highly recommended.

The Populus euphratica forests in Ejina grow relatively concentrated and dense, and the Populus euphratica forest scenic area in Ejina has also become one of the most popular destinations for tourists who want to see yellow leaves in autumn.

The Populus euphratica forest scenic area stretches from the First Bridge to the Eighth Bridge. The First Bridge to the Seventh Bridge are Populus euphratica and Haloxylon ammodendron forests, and the Eighth Bridge happens to be the northern part of the Badain Jaran Desert. You can experience everything from saline-alkali land to desert at once.

The Populus euphratica forest package is 240 yuan, which includes tickets to the 1st to 8th bridges and a bus ticket to the scenic area. Tickets to the 8th bridge can be purchased separately at the ticket office at the entrance of the 8th bridge for 50 yuan.

The scenic area bus stops at Erdao Bridge, Sidao Bridge, Qidao Bridge and Badao Bridge respectively. If you want to go to Sandao Bridge or Wudao Bridge or Liudao Bridge, you need to go by yourself. The last bus leaves from Badao Bridge (the scenic area does not close at night) at 19:20 and goes back to Yidao Bridge.

There is a Populus euphratica science corridor after crossing a bridge. After crossing it, you can see camels everywhere. When passing by, various people will ask you if you want to ride one. Just smile and decline. It is enough for me to experience camel riding once.

There are few yellow poplars on the bridge, most of them are still green in summer. I like the feeling of light and shadow in the woods. If the leaves are denser, I can pretend to be the Wizard of Oz walking through the woods.

Along the way, you will see some poplar trees that look dry and dead, while on the other side the branches are full of leaves and full of vitality.

The highlight of Erdao Bridge is the reflection forest, but there was little water and the leaves were not yellow, so the visual effect of the observation deck was really disappointing. Later I found that the scenery was not as good as the town's East Ring Road, so I hurriedly took a photo and left peacefully, looking for the bus stop to go to Sidao Bridge.

Sidao Bridge is the filming location of the movie "Hero". The scene where Feixue and Ruyue fought in the yellow leaves was taken here.

Unfortunately, we arrived too early and most of the leaves were not yet yellow. If the leaves were yellow and dressed in a red or white dress, it would have been great for taking photos, but I guess there were too many tourists at that time and it might have been difficult to take photos of the empty forest at that moment. In short, you can't have it both ways!

It belongs to the scenery in the Ejina Populus euphratica forest scenic area, but not to a certain bridge.

Although the holidays were expensive and congested, when I saw such a beautiful poplar forest, I felt that all the efforts were worth it. I read a lot of reviews and guides and made enough mental preparations, but the actual situation was not as bad as I imagined. Every time I took the shuttle bus, I got on it as soon as I arrived, and there was no queue for an hour. I don’t know if there were more buses or there were not so many tourists today, but there were still a lot of people. Thanks to the large size of the park, it didn’t seem crowded.

Sanmao wrote in her book: "If there is an afterlife, I want to be a tree. Standing forever, with no posture of sadness or joy. Half of it is peaceful in the dust, and half of it is flying in the wind; half of it is in the shade, and half of it is basking in the sun. Very silent, very proud. Never relying on others, never looking for anything."

The poplar forest in Ejin Banner is perhaps the most beautiful poplar forest in this autumn. The most beautiful one in this season is the poplars in Qidaoqiao. If you must use a metaphor, the willow is the white-shirted boy you liked in childhood, the poplar is the heroic little brother next door, and the poplar is a silent, stable, silent soldier, which you absolutely disliked when you were young. When you have experienced a long time away from home and hardships, when you see the poplar again, you will feel that this is the only tree in the world that can understand your true heart.
