Tengger Desert

It was beyond my expectation. It was worth the trip. I have to say that Tengger is so beautiful. For a moment, I really wished I could die in this desert. A friendly reminder to friends with cameras: remember to take good precautions against sand, otherwise the results of a day's travel photography may all be wasted. The pictures above are beautiful even if they were taken with a mobile phone camera. By the way, I would like to recommend our leader "Warrior". He was super nice. He provided ice watermelon and ice water all the way. We had a barbecue at the edge of the oasis. We also had hot milk when we woke up early. It was really luxurious.

I got off the train station at 2:30 pm and met a taxi driver. She had a wide range of business contacts. After chatting with her for a while, she introduced me to a nearby hotel. The room was nearly 50 square meters and the original price on Meituan was 128. The lady had a cooperation with the hotel and bought it directly for 100. I was quite satisfied with the hotel decoration. Then I went to Zhongwei City to play for an afternoon and had some coarse grain rice noodles, which were delicious. The next morning, the lady contacted a carpool to Tengri. The round-trip carpooling cost a total of 30 yuan. The package ticket in Tengri was 220\260 yuan. I played from 9:30 in the morning to 12:30. It felt okay.

The main entertainment here is camel riding, and there are also various desert vehicles to choose from. The expensive desert hotel is also here. In this scenic area, I walked on the sand for a while to the two-story "Guanhai Tower". Although the distance was not far, it happened to be windy, blowing sand everywhere. In addition, the strong light and the hot and soft soles of my feet really made me feel the huge consumption of walking in the desert.

The Tengger Desert is vast and boundless, and the sight is very limited. It is impossible to imagine what is behind the sand dunes. It is probably still endless sand dunes. There is almost no vegetation in the desert here. Although the curves are beautiful, it is lifeless. I really dare not go into such a place. In fact, I heard that the straight-line distance from Shapotou to Tonghu Grassland is only 8 kilometers. There are cars or camels in the north area that can take you through the desert.

The Tengger Desert is located to the north of the Shapotou Scenic Area. If the weather is clear, you can still go there to experience the characteristics of the desert, watch the beautiful Milky Way at night, and listen to the sounds of the desert.

The Tengger Desert is located in the Left Banner and Right Banner of Alxa League in Inner Mongolia, and the central part of Gansu Province. It is the southern Great Wall of Vietnam, reaching the Helan Mountains in the east and the Yabrai Mountains in the west. It is 240 kilometers long from north to south and 160 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of about 43,000 square meters... It is the fourth largest desert in my country, more than 100 kilometers away from Yinchuan City. The five lakes crossing in the Tengger Desert is my favorite project in this trip, no one else!

It takes about an hour from Yinchuan to reach the off-road camp deep in the desert. Then change to Toyota Prado to cross the five lakes deep in the desert: Camel Lake - Wulan Lake - Egg Yellow Lake - Guitar Lake - Yuanyang Lake...

There were four people in one car. The driver and guide took us deep into the desert. There were five lakes in total. We stopped for 20 minutes to half an hour each time. We also gave the team a free aerial photo at Ulan Lake.

In the vastness of heaven and earth, far away from the city, far away from the hustle and bustle, without any signal, deserted, there is only a pink beating "Heart of the Earth" - Ulan Lake!

The Tengger Desert is not far from Shapotou. Although it is not far, the desert shape is still different from Shapotou. The desert in Shapotou is generally flatter, perhaps because there are more tourists, but the Tengger Desert is more primitive. The ups and downs of the desert are better, and it should be more photogenic if you take pictures. The desert is also very clean, with large areas of desert without footprints. It is very beautiful. I prefer the Tengger Desert.

This was everyone's first desert driving adventure. We had no experience and no rescue tools such as shovels, tow ropes, U-shaped buckles, air pumps, and monkey bars (jacks). We just rushed into the heart of the desert with a big heart for exploration.

Along the way, we saw several ambulances heading into the heart of the desert for rescue.

The administrative division of the Tengger Desert mainly belongs to Alxa Left Banner, and the western and southeastern edges belong to Minqin, Wuwei in Gansu and Zhongwei City in Ningxia respectively.

The desert includes two parts, Nanjiling in the north and Tengger in the south, which are collectively called the Tengger Desert. There are sand dunes, lake basins, grasslands, mountains, residual hills and plains in the desert. The sand dunes account for 71% of the area, mainly mobile sand dunes, mostly grid-shaped dune chains and crescent-shaped dune chains, with heights ranging from 10 to 20 meters (33 to 66 feet). There are 422 lake basins, half of which have accumulated water and are residual lakes that have dried up or retreated. Our group participated in camel riding, desert motorcycles, horseback riding and other self-funded projects

This desert scenic area is really interesting, especially the desert off-road vehicles. I am too timid to experience the desert bends on the return trip, but my husband took the dog up there, and he said it was really thrilling.

There is also an unwanted white husky in the scenic area. It is very good-looking and keeps chasing the girl.

【Tengger Desert】 The fourth largest desert in China. Located in the southeast of Alxa region, Inner Mongolia, between 37°30′ and 40°N and 102°20′ and 106°E. It covers an area of about 42,700 square kilometers. Administratively, it mainly belongs to Alxa Left Banner, while the western and southeastern edges belong to Minqin, Wuwei, Gansu and Zhongwei City, Ningxia respectively. The desert consists of two parts, Nanjiling in the north and Tengger in the south, and is usually referred to as the Tengger Desert.

Shabotou is located on the southern edge of the Tengger Desert.

Driving us to the sand dunes was extremely thrilling, and it was scary just thinking about it. After arriving at the destination, they only gave us a brief instruction on how to drive the beach buggy and then left us behind. It was not until we finished our trip and called for someone to come and take us back to the scenic area.

On the way to Shapotou, you can visit the desert scenic spots. The tourist projects are relatively cheap compared to Shapotou. You can play the desert projects here and then go to Shapotou to play the Yellow River projects. However, the time will be tight, so you must make good time arrangements.

I came to Tengger in early June. The daytime temperature was about 33 degrees and the nighttime temperature was about 20 degrees. The temperature difference was still very large. I hiked 85 kilometers in three days. It rained a little on the first day, and the sand surface was relatively hard and easy to walk on. On the second day, the temperature began to rise and the wind became more arrogant. When climbing the sand hill, every step was difficult. The Milky Way starry sky at night was amazing.

I went to Yinchuan for a 52km day trip across the five lakes. It was my first time to the desert. It was fun, but unfortunately I didn't have time to hike.

You can enter the Tengger Desert from the Shapotou Scenic Area. There are many activities, such as sand sliding, camel riding, beach buggy, etc. The sand is relatively fine.

Because it was May 1st, the package tickets were no longer sold at 12 noon, so we took a speedboat, a desert warrior car, and a sheepskin raft; Shapotou is divided into the Yellow River area and the desert area, with a paid shuttle bus in the middle.

To cross the Tengger Desert to Shapotou in Zhongwei City, you need to hire camels to transport equipment, especially large amounts of water. The 10-hour hike is very exciting.

We hired a tour guide and bought a tour package. The activities include: sand sliding, off-road 18 turns over sand dunes, camel riding in the sand sea, track beach car, track desert kart. Sand sliding is different from sand paddling in Shapotou. It uses tires to slide down on the sand dunes. People will feel safer lying in the circle. The off-road vehicle is driven by professionals. It climbs over the high sand pile and then goes downhill immediately. Everyone screamed and their voices were hoarse. With the "Passionate Desert" played on the car speakers, we were bumped and shouted "exciting". The track car is very suitable for friends who like to ride motorcycles or drive cars. The very large desert track is throttled to the bottom, accompanied by a huge roar, and you feel like a professional racer. The desert camel caravan gives people a very Western feeling. With the sound of camel bells, it seems that you are an exotic woman rushing to another place to sell our goods.

One Night In Desert

Tengger means "eternal heaven" in Mongolian. It sounds beautiful in both Mongolian and Chinese. But to be honest, the Tengger Desert, including Shapotou on the edge of the Tengger Desert, is not so beautiful that it left a deep impression on me. The only thing that has not been erased by the eraser in my mind is probably the experience of staying in the desert hotel that night. Although it is expensive, it is worth a try.

The hotel is paved with tiles, and the shape is very much like a spring bath, and being able to take a bath in the desert is a luxury in itself. After eating barbecue and watermelon, the campfire in the distance was filled with the noise of Northwest men drinking. I put on my coat, walked out of the hotel, and lay on the sand to watch the stars in the desert evening breeze. One grain of sand is like a Buddha, one wind is like closing my eyes. I was just about to fall asleep, when suddenly I heard the roar of an engine. When I opened my eyes, a jeep, a desert drift, was about to run over me. I really can't blame the driver. Who would have thought that there would be a hairy monster lying in the desert late at night? I glanced at the distance, and the campfire was out. Fortunately, it was just a few millimeters on the steering wheel. I almost became their dessert after dinner. After all, Desert and Desert are only the distance of Initial D.

Don't sleep in the desert at night.

1. Food: Breakfast and dinner are provided by local herdsmen, including mutton, chicken and everything else. Lunch is usually a steamed bun and milk. If you feel not full enough, you can bring your own food.

2. Drinking: There is mineral water supply every hour or so. If you want hot water, you can only wait until the evening when you arrive at the camp. I don’t know why, but the hot water is a bit salty.

3. La: A natural, pollution-free toilet with 360-degree views. Just climb a hill and find a secluded spot to find the toilet. You can watch the sunrise or look for shooting stars when you are bored.

4. Desert: Trekking in the desert, our group was assigned a group of camels, a truck, and an off-road vehicle, where we could sit when we got tired. Our luggage was also placed on the trucks. So feel free to bring food with you!!

5. Accommodation: Tent + sleeping bag. Live in the open space outside the herdsmen's house. There is no place to take a shower. Even if there is, the desert night is too cold and people will not take a shower.

At the end of the day, I lost count of how many sand dunes I had crossed. The colors before my eyes were yellow, blue, and a little sparse grass green.

When hiking in the desert, we must pay attention to conservation awareness and not create unnecessary garbage. We all bring our own lunch boxes when traveling.

At 8-9 o'clock in the evening, the sky was full of stars.

But it was too cold, the temperature in the desert was probably below zero at night.

There is a poplar forest in the heart of the Tengger Desert. It's not a big place, but it's crowded! Go there at this time, the leaves are not yet completely yellow. It will be more beautiful in mid-October.

Here we have the blue sky we have been waiting for, the sea of stars we have been longing for, and the broad vision we have been dreaming of. We like it here.

Coming here, I got to know a lot of different cultures.

Geographical knowledge has taught us that the Tengger Desert is the fourth largest desert in my country. We need to take a car to enter the desert. The staff saw us taking pictures and lent us a prop. They specifically told us that there is no toilet in the desert. The 260￥ package we bought includes several items. The car played super loud music and crossed the sand slopes. The strong wind blew our hair wantonly. Our hearts were tumbling up and down with the speed of the car. The weightlessness when going downhill could also be shouted out without any scruples. One word: cool! The desert has a charm that makes people fall in love with it. The five of us girls decided to play together! ! We went to ride camels first. Each camel was very big. To be honest, I was a little afraid that it would get upset and throw us off. We each picked one. I don’t know what method the camel feeders used to make them lie down. We sat on them and then let them stand up. I greeted it and climbed up carefully. I was afraid of hurting it. I was tilted all the way, but I didn’t dare to move. It was shaking all the way. When it came down at last, it knelt down on its front legs first and then on its back legs, which scared me. Then we went to drive go-karts. The wind was strong but it was very stable. There was a coach watching from the side, it was very simple. The four-wheeled motorcycle was super cool, running in the endless desert, it was very cool. Hahahahaha Actually, it was not. There was a set route. When I turned around halfway, I felt that I was going to flip over. There was also sandboarding. It looked so high from above. No one was very brave because they were afraid of flipping over. When I first came down, I thought I should scream, so I came down screaming. Gradually I found that it was not very steep and it was quite exciting. There was an event called beach volleyball that seemed to be unplayable. I bought a skirt specially, but it was too cold in the morning. But I thought I had already bought it, so I took it with me, found a tent to change quickly, and took two photos each, which was not in vain.

It's not bad, the scenery is beautiful, and the project is also good. I have to say that although their shoe covers are ugly, they are much better than those in Shapotou.

I searched for a desert camp recommended in a travel note on China-TravelNote and navigated there according to the address given by the boss. I didn't know what the camp was like at the time, and there were no reviews online. Now it seems that it is 100 times better than Shapotou. Except for the lack of zipline projects and sheepskin rafts, everything else is available. No need to queue, the price is 200 yuan per person, including: desert surfing, sand motorcycle, sand sliding, camel riding. The most important thing is that my mother can participate in all projects. But the boss is still very responsible and asked my mother whether her body allows it many times. There are several camping tours in the Tengger Desert Camp. The boss of the one we went to is very good and waived the fees for our two children. The desert surfing car in Shapotou is simply at the level of elementary school students compared to the one in Tengger. The slope of the sand dunes here is almost 45 degrees, which is quite exciting. It rained the night before, and the sand was still wet, but it didn't stick to shoes and there was no mud, and the sand was also very clean. The throttle of the sand motorcycle is on the handle. Master the direction, blast the throttle, turn and slow down, so easy! Children have no resistance to sand and can play for as long as they want. We finally found professional tools, so we dug to our heart's content! In fact, you can stay in tents, watch the stars, have a bonfire party, barbecue at night in the desert camp... Unfortunately, we encountered a once-in-a-century heavy rain. It rained at night for a few days, and no matter how beautiful the camping was, it couldn't withstand the heavy rain. But there are still people who are not afraid. The boss said that he received a camping group of more than 20 people at night. Unlimited sand sliding, no one cares if you sit, lie down, or lie down. Although the slope is not as long as Shapotou, it is not so tiring to climb up.

We went there during the National Day holiday. We originally wanted to go to Shapotou and booked accommodation nearby in advance. However, on the way there, the local driver said that the Tengger Desert was more fun and not as commercialized as Shapotou, so we made an appointment for him to pick us up the next day to go to the Tengger Desert to play.

I have always wanted to go to the desert. It was my first time there. I had a lot of fun! It was just very cold when I arrived in the morning. I only tried sandboarding once. It was so exciting! The 18 waves in the desert when entering and leaving the desert were also very exciting. It was the first time I saw poplar trees, the most tenacious and luxuriant life in the desert!

The special train travels across four provinces in the northwest. Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia. A nine-day tour for seniors.

At around 8 o'clock, I took a taxi directly to the Tengger Desert! The package I bought was only 300 yuan and had a few items.

After the surfing car ride, it’s time to ride a camel. Camels are the living treasures of the desert and loyal friends of mankind. It’s very fun to experience riding a camel.

After the camel ride, we went to ride the bike and started the Ding car. Since I bought a package ticket, I wouldn't have played this. The tickets were almost the same and so expensive. It was over in a few minutes! There was no fun in riding horses!

To be honest, this was very different from what I had imagined, and I didn't even get to play with the sheepskin raft or anything.

The only one called Crescent Lake looks somewhat beautiful.

I wanted to see the stars, but the moon was as bright as the sun that night. I couldn't see any stars at all.

I didn't go into the real Tengger Desert Scenic Area, but took some photos around it. It's already very beautiful and worth a visit.

Geli is definitely more fun than Danxia, haha, it is worth driving in to see. The only difference between here and Shapotou Scenic Area is that there is no Yellow River, but all other projects are available here (private development, optional). We did not play in the paid project, but chose to drive in by ourselves. The more we drove, the more desert there was, occasionally dotted with oases, and even saw groups of camels, not a small salt lake, and soaring goshawks. My mother lamented that the motherland is so vast, and regretted why such a large land has not been developed. Haha, it is rare to see the desert, and the whole family is extremely excited. Standing on the sand hill, you can hardly see the edge. We played here for a long time, and didn't see anyone, but saw eagles in the air. Near noon, the sand was super hot, and here I really felt the pain that three layers of sunscreen could not cover. Tengger was a surprise that we didn't expect at all, because it was the first time to go to the desert, it was very fun, there were no people, and no business. All we encountered along the way were primitive scenery. Maybe this is the advantage of self-driving. You can park anywhere and play whenever you want.

If you like sandboarding, camel riding, sand sliding and motorcycle riding in the desert, I think Tengger is still a good choice. The package ticket of more than 200 yuan can be said to include all the regular desert projects. Moreover, the desert in Tengger is wider than that in Shapotou, so it is a great place for sightseeing and taking photos.

There are many recreational projects in Shapotou Desert Tourist Area, but people over 60 years old are not allowed to participate.

We rushed all the way to the edge of the desert and took an 8-wheel-drive desert monster surfing car to the camp. It was so exciting! The location of the sand motorcycle is next to the camel riding. Children can drive by themselves but must be accompanied by professionals. Adults are free. This sport is still very good, very cool! Very refreshing! Very cool! The sand dunes are a great place to take pictures.

If you want to experience an exciting desert trip, you can go through the Tengger Desert. The jeep sometimes rushes to the sand ridge, sometimes rushes to the valley, and sometimes uses inertia to cross the slope when turning. It is extremely thrilling and exciting. Riding a camel in the desert, you can feel the beauty of nature. Riding on the back of a camel is like riding on a small boat, swaying towards the endless sea of sand. Looking ahead is always dim. Only by abandoning all distractions and letting the desert boat carry you to the distance can you enjoy the happiness of blending into nature.

The Tengger Desert tourist area in Shapotou is a little bit close to it. Those who have never seen a desert can have a taste of it.

Our starting point is the east side of the desert and our end point is the west side. We climb over the wire fence and fall into a sand pit. Yes, for the next two days, every step you take is a sand pit. So 62 kilometers is not just 62 kilometers.

The first day's journey was 20 kilometers.

After 500 meters, we started to climb over the sand peak. It looked like a 1-2 meter sand peak. The leader told us that it would be easier if we were fast. The sand slid down after we stepped on it. If we walked at a walking speed, we would stay in the same place. We kept going forward. The sand became softer the further we went. The shoe covers were not very effective. Especially when climbing over the sand peak, we got a lot of sand and had to empty the sand every half an hour.

Desert hiking (exhausting) (boring) (hot and stuffy) The more you feel this way, the more you can't just keep moving forward. You should change your focus and chat with your friends around you to relieve your fatigue. Hiking is not only a measurement of your feet, but also a reflection of your beliefs and qualities.

Fruit peels (which can rot and evaporate) can be thrown away in the desert. All waste such as paperboard can be taken out of the desert. Here, leave your footprints and passion. Take away everything else. We appreciate its beauty and also return it to holiness.

When walking in the desert, you always walk two-thirds of the way. The desert is endless, with sand dunes one after another everywhere, all of the same color. There is no direction in the desert. You can only tell the direction by the waves formed by the wind.

When I arrived at the desert, I really couldn't control my desire to take pictures. My red skirt and scarf were flying around. The wind in the desert was really strong. My hat was blown away. I had to wrap myself up with the scarf.

After a round of crazy photo taking, we even climbed onto the roof of the desert bus, probably because the sand felt so soft that it didn't matter if we fell into it. When we arrived in the desert, I never expected that the wind and sand would be so strong that I didn't dare to take out the camera at all. Fortunately, nature had already adjusted everything, so even if I just scanned the picture with my mobile phone, I didn't need to edit it.

I always think that the desert has a unique beauty, the constantly changing sand ridges, each line blown by the wind, probably because the sand is too fine, it is obviously very dangerous, but it reveals a sense of gentleness. Ah~~~ You are the wind and I am the sand, lingering to the end of the world~~

The starry sky at night is simply the best in history. My friends took great pains to capture some of the stars. Click on the large picture to brighten it up so that you can see more stars. After a night of howling wind, I still had to get up the next day to watch the sunrise. When I woke up the next day and saw the sky, I was stunned for a long time before I woke up. This is so beautiful!

Watching the sunrise, the original cold purple tones turned into golden light as soon as the sun came out. There are not enough words to describe the whole process of sunrise.

The wonders of nature are amazing. I watched them silently in the cold wind for a long time. When I left, I filled a bottle of sand and took it back to reminisce. If I have the chance in the future, I will definitely come again for a completely pure desert trip. This time I stayed in the desert for almost a day and a half, which seems far from enough.

Surf car! This is a must-try. Whether you have a package or play on your own, this is really worth it

It's very exciting to walk in the sand waves. I recommend it with five stars.

It would be best to buy a veil here. The three of us have nothing. It really hurts when the sand hits our faces. We can’t speak at all with our mouths full of sand!

I don't recommend taking a motorcycle. They say you can drive it yourself, but the instructor is actually steering the wheel. It's not fun and I regret it a bit.
